  So back in September, I announced to everyone that I was heading back to ministry school.

  Well, I applied, I awaited, and just this week on my email, I received a letter

  of acceptance for the spring of 2025.

  And who better to share that moment with you than my good friend, Dr.

  E, who was so gracious enough to come on today and talk about it because he

  was one of the very first people that I called.

  Hello, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin. My name is Angel,

  and to my left on my screen is Dr. E.

  Dr. E, how are you doing, and are you ready for Thanksgiving, my friend?

  I am ready, my friend. I cannot wait. I am the happiest guy in the world.

  It's Thanksgiving week, and I can't wait to tell everyone about this endeavor
• 2:13
  that you're going to be doing, that you're going to be doing the ministry school.
• 2:18
  Can you tell us a little bit about, you know, how God spoke to you on that?
• 2:23
  Well, I think, you know, it goes back to knowing the story of when I was born.
• 2:27
  I started hearing the story about when I was maybe 12 or 13,
• 2:31
  because I started feeling.
• 2:34
  Really, really something when I would go to church and I couldn't put my eyes
• 2:38
  or my ears or my words in sentences, but I knew my mom saw something.
• 2:43
  And one day I just told her, I says, I really like coming to church.
• 2:47
  I really like what I feel.
• 2:48
  And that's when she started telling me that when you were born,
• 2:52
  all the angels came from heaven. And she'd say, do you want to know why?
• 2:56
  And I'd say, why? She said, because you're special.
• 2:58
  So I found out that when I was born, my two legs, my two feet were actually
• 3:03
  born in the opposite direction.
• 3:04
  So because of that, they were basically telling my mom that I might be deformed.
• 3:11
  I may not, you know, lead a life,
• 3:14
  a normal life, but they had hope and the insurance, you know,
• 3:18
  was run and we, and they determined that the insurance wouldn't probably pay
• 3:23
  for, you know, for all the treatments that I was going to have.
• 3:27
  So the doctor said, okay, we're going to put casks on him.
• 3:30
  My parents didn't even have the money to put casts on me.
• 3:33
  And as they were doing all that, you know, the, the, the young doctor said,
• 3:38
  well, listen, you know, let's not worry about price right now.
• 3:41
  Let's concentrate on, on getting something on angel.
• 3:44
  So that way we can get things moving in the right direction.
• 3:47
  So, you know, you fast forward. And as they were doing that,
• 3:52
  the doctor walked out and he walked back in and he said to my parents.
• 3:59
  I'm going to forego the, forget about the insurance.
• 4:04
  I'm going to be paying for Angel's cast and his treatment out of my own pocket
• 4:08
  because something has told me inside of me that this is somebody who's going
• 4:12
  to be very special one day.
• 4:14
  And I cannot, for the sake of me, ignore that feeling or what I heard.
• 4:19
  So they put that on me and it kind of made sense Once when I heard the story,
• 4:24
  it put it into perspective and said, okay, now I get it. Now I know that something is happening here.
• 4:30
  So then, you know, over the years, as you all know, through watching and listening
• 4:33
  to my episodes, we've had stories of the mystery man and, oh,
• 4:37
  backtrack a little bit. I couldn't consume milk.
• 4:39
  Oh my God, no way. All I can consume was goat's milk.
• 4:44
  So that's another part of the story. And it just went from there.
• 4:49
  And then as everybody knows, and you know, a lot of my interesting stories that
• 4:53
  have taken place over the years just kind of fit in.
• 4:56
  And it just got to the point where I knew it was time.
• 4:59
  I knew I'm at the part of my life where I know that now I can dedicate 100% to doing it.

  And I want to thank the Have Faith, Let It Begin family. I want to thank you
• 5:07
  because you were one of the people that said to me that I did something special
• 5:11
  about me that made you want to walk in that path.
• 5:15
  And, and Clinton, you know, on Wednesday nights, Clinton even said it on the
• 5:19
  air that I learned to, he's restoring his faith.
• 5:23
  And I, I'm not saying that to brag. I'm just saying, when you hear that enough,
• 5:27
  you start to say to yourself, maybe I should really hear these words.
• 5:32
  Maybe somebody's truly talking to me.
• 5:34
  So that's, that's where I would say it started from. It's amazing.
• 5:38
  And, and Angel, remember, you know, So ministry, the formalized ministry school
• 5:44
  is fantastic because it will deepen your journey with God and your walk with Christ.
• 5:50
  And you'll be able to have more tools to be able to share with people for sure.
• 5:55
  But make no mistake that your half faith, let it begin ministry is absolutely valid.
• 6:02
  And it's been valid for years.
• 6:05
  And even if you didn't go to ministry school, in my book, you are still a minister.
• 6:09
  Yeah. And, you know, and it's a power of prayer. And I want to just point out
• 6:13
  one thing, not because I'm trying to promote the Kroc podcast,
• 6:18
  but only because on a personal note, I think it's a very special story.
• 6:21
  I think Dr. E, I think you should definitely tell everybody what took place yesterday.

  Maybe give them a quick synopsis as to what I consider a very special story

  that you shared yesterday on

  the Kroc podcast, otherwise known as Citizens Reunited to Overcome Cancer.

  Yeah. Thanks, Angel, for that. You know, so basically the podcast,

  for those who have heard it,

  is about trying to help our cancer survivor thrivers get through,

  giving them information, giving them tricks,
• 6:49
  giving them all sorts of support so that'll make their journey with cancer be that much easier.

  And sometimes it'll be a podcast that's informational.

  Sometimes it will be educational.
• 7:04
  Sometimes we'll do interviews. And sometimes there'll be stories about my career
• 7:09
  or about certain circumstances that happen in my day-to-day life.

  And this past Sunday, you and I explored the house call.

  Remember the old fashioned house call and home visit and basically how a home
• 7:23
  visit kind of changed my perspective.
• 7:25
  Even after doing this for close to 40 years,

  it sort of re-infused me and gave me motivation and inspiration and gave me
• 7:35
  sort of reinforcement to be happy with what I do and be grateful for the opportunity
• 7:42
  that I have to be a doctor.
• 7:44
  And that was sort of the theme, you know, to be thankful and grateful.
• 7:49
  Especially on this, you know, week before Thanksgiving.

  Yeah. And this is how we're going to close today's episode.

  I always believed it would only be a matter of time before his gift as an orator

  and inspirational leader would lead him down the path of enrolling in the seminary.
