- 15:16Chris: with all of those creations that were based on his story.
- 15:20Chris: What the fuck is this?
- 15:22Mandy: So it's mixing of reality and fantasy at the same time.
- 15:26Chris: It is, but it's done in such a bad,
- 15:29Chris: bad way
- 15:30Chris: that it is really not worth watching.
- 15:33Mandy: I was entertained.
- 15:33Charles: Do we like American Horror Story now?
- 15:36Mandy: I haven't watched it ever.
- 15:38Charles: Really?
- 15:39Mandy: Mm-mm.
- 15:39Charles: The first few were fun.
- 15:41Charles: The second season's probably the best.
- 15:42Chris: I only ever saw the first season of American Horror Story
- 15:45Chris: and it was fine, but I felt no need to continue.
- 15:49Chris: But yeah,
- 15:50Chris: this is on just a whole other level.
- 15:51Chris: It's also completely needlessly graphic in its violence.
- 15:55Mandy: That's kind of the point though, yeah.
- 15:57Chris: Right, but like I,
- 15:58Chris: and like I don't mind violence
- 16:00Chris: in movies, like that's totally fine.
- 16:01Chris: And I don't even necessarily mind extreme violence,
- 16:04Chris: but you can tell when it feels gratuitous
- 16:07Chris: and this whole thing feels very gratuitous.
- 16:10Chris: It's just,
- 16:11Chris: yeah,
- 16:12Chris: not well done.
- 16:13Chris: And yeah, it's entertaining,
- 16:15Chris: but anyone who wants a
- 16:18Mandy: But yeah, but is that why you're watching it
- 16:19Mandy: for like the real story?
- 16:21Mandy: I mean, wouldn't you be watching a documentary then?
- 16:23Chris: To some degree,
- 16:23Chris: yeah.
- 16:24Chris: Like I'm,
- 16:25Chris: I don't know,
- 16:25Chris: I often take issue
- 16:27Chris: with things that are based on biographical figures
- 16:30Chris: where a whole bunch of stuff gets invented
- 16:31Chris: because for a large part of the population,
- 16:35Chris: that's what people are going to think happen.
- 16:38Chris: That's what people are going to think happen.
- 16:39Chris: And the myth becomes the reality for a lot of people.
- 16:42Mandy: But then all it's including in that thing though
- 16:45Mandy: was all the myth,
- 16:46Mandy: right?
- 16:47Mandy: Like all of the stuff that happens because of it
- 16:49Mandy: and all the lore that people say is true, but isn't.
- 16:52Chris: I guess, but like,
- 16:53Chris: yeah.
- 16:55Mandy: I mean, I'm not saying I loved it
- 16:56Mandy: and I watched it and I watched it over and over again,
- 16:57Mandy: but like, yeah, it was entertaining.
- 16:59Chris: It's entertaining,
- 17:00Chris: but I don't think
- 17:01Chris: that necessarily means it's worth watching.
- 17:04Charles: I am of the belief, and I say this as a queer person,
- 17:08Charles: we need to do something to stop that twink.
- 17:11Charles: Ryan Murphy is a plague upon media,
- 17:17Charles: and the things that he creates, especially now,
- 17:19Charles: is just,
- 17:20Charles: he doesn't have a great track record.
- 17:22Charles: What else has he created?
- 17:24Charles: American Horror Story.
- 17:25Charles: Glee.
- 17:26Charles: Scream Queens.
- 17:27Charles: What's that?
- 17:28Charles: Glee,
- 17:29Charles: glee, glee.
- 17:30Charles: Yeah,
- 17:31Charles: was he glee?
- 17:31Charles: Yeah,
- 17:32Charles: he created glee and then 100% he needs to go I
- 17:39Charles: Was literally talking about the episode where the the kid in a wheelchair gets robot legs for one of the episodes
- 17:46Charles: Yes
- 17:47Charles: Yes,
- 17:48Charles: because like they wanted the actor to dance like like because he has full use of his legs the actor
- 17:57Chris: Yeah, I,
- 17:58Chris: to be fair,
- 17:59Chris: from what I've read,
- 18:01Chris: this particular season of Monster is the first one
- 18:03Chris: that Ryan Murphy wasn't directly involved in.
- 18:06Chris: He only had his name on it, but someone else created it,
- 18:09Chris: created the episodes, wrote the episodes,
- 18:11Chris: directed the episodes.
- 18:12Chris: So I don't blame Murphy himself,
- 18:15Chris: but I do blame him because he still put his name on it.
- 18:18Chris: And yeah,
- 18:20Chris: it's just, it's a very poor showing.
- 18:21Charles: Let's look up real quick while I'm on Wikipedia.
- 18:24Charles: Ryan Murphy,
- 18:27Charles: producer.
- 18:29Charles: Oh my God,
- 18:30Charles: he even looks...
- 18:33Charles: He's got a punchable face.
- 18:36Charles: He looks like he votes Republican.
- 18:38Charles: American Crime Story,
- 18:40Charles: oh yeah, that's right.
- 18:40Charles: He did that one too.
- 18:42Charles: Oh yeah.
- 18:44Charles: He did the Eat, Pray, Love movie.
- 18:47Chris: Dude, he's done so much.
- 18:48Mandy: Okay, look,
- 18:49Mandy: apparently I've seen nothing else
- 18:50Mandy: that this person has done other than this.
- 18:53Chris: My first exposure to him,
- 18:54Chris: which I think was the first show he created was Nip/Tuck.
- 18:57Chris: And Nip/Tuck was phenomenal until it wasn't.
- 19:00Chris: The last couple of seasons were
- 19:02Chris: He did Nip/Tuck?
- 19:03Chris: Yeah!
- 19:05Chris: And Nip/Tuck was great.
- 19:07Charles: Until they had Famke Jansen play a trans woman
- 19:11Charles: who only sleeps with underage dudes.
- 19:14Chris: There's that, but
- 19:15Chris: Well, that's not problematic.
- 19:16Charles: Yeah, it's
- 19:16Charles: Do you know why she doesn't?
- 19:18Chris: She sleeps with them because they're inexperienced.
- 19:21Chris: And they can't spot a fake.
- 19:22Chris: They literally say that in the show.
- 19:25Mandy: That's not problematic at all.
- 19:27Chris: And one of
- 19:28Charles: I was reminded of this by Laura last week.
- 19:29Chris: One of the underage people she sleeps with in the show
- 19:33Chris: is her son.
- 19:35Mandy: Ew.
- 19:35Chris: Yeah.
- 19:37Chris: Yep.
- 19:38Chris: Anyway,
- 19:38Chris: great show.
- 19:39Mandy: Is there not for me?
- 19:41Mandy: (laughing)
- 19:42Chris: Fair.
- 19:43Chris: So yeah,
- 19:43Chris: that's my week.
- 19:45Chris: Ryan Murphy,
- 19:47Charles: I'm done.
- 19:47Chris: He's a menace, he needs to be stopped.
- 19:51Chris: Supposedly the season of American Horror Story
- 19:53Chris: with Lady Gaga is good, I've been told,
- 19:55Chris: but I have not seen it,
- 19:57Chris: so.
- 19:57Charles: I have a story of American Horror Story.
- 20:00Charles: So one of the first times that I went viral
- 20:02Charles: on the internet was because of American Horror Story.
- 20:06Charles: We were doing fake teaser trailers
- 20:11Charles: for their fourth season,
- 20:13Charles: which was titled Freak Show.
- 20:14Charles: It was like a carnival-themed one.
- 20:16Charles: So me and a few friends decided, you know,
- 20:19Charles: we're going to just create some fan trailers for this.
- 20:23Charles: And they went super viral to the point
- 20:25Charles: that everybody thought that they were real.
- 20:28Charles: Like even like news sites were like saying,
- 20:32Charles: like IGN was using our key art.
- 20:35Charles: We can probably pull it up.
- 20:41Mandy: I just,
- 20:42Mandy: you know,
- 20:42Mandy: if you're talking about it,
- 20:43Mandy: let's show it.
- 20:46Chris: Let's see if it still exists.
- 20:47Chris: Charles is typing into his keyboard.
- 20:50Charles: Yeah.
- 20:50Charles: (soft music)
- 20:52Charles: So,
- 20:54Charles: so this is,
- 20:55Charles: you can turn up the music.
- 20:57Charles: (soft music)
- 21:03Charles: So there's like,
- 21:05Charles: conjoined twins we did,
- 21:07Charles: and we did this like intro that I created myself.
- 21:12Mandy: I mean, it looks pretty legit.
- 21:13Mandy: Yeah.
- 21:14Mandy: I wouldn't be fooled.
- 21:15Chris: Yeah, that's good.
- 21:17Mandy: I would definitely be fooled.
- 21:23Charles: Yeah,
- 21:24Charles: so we had some fun with it.
- 21:26Charles: They went crazy viral and afterwards,
- 21:30Charles: and this is why I don't do April Fool's jokes anymore.
- 21:34Charles: We decided to, 'cause everybody's like,
- 21:36Charles: "These are so amazing."
- 21:37Charles: And it happened right before April Fool's.
- 21:39Charles: So we're like,
- 21:40Charles: "What should we do with this?"
- 21:42Charles: So we tricked all of our friends
- 21:43Charles: into thinking that we got hired by FX.
- 21:46Mandy: No.
- 21:47Charles: To do American Horror Story.
- 21:49Charles: Brilliant.
- 21:50Charles: Photoshopping ourselves with Ryan Murphy.
- 21:54Charles: We even said a few days before we got flown out
- 21:57Charles: to California.
- 21:58Charles: We told a few people.
- 22:01Charles: Getting up to it and everything like that
- 22:03Charles: with the announcement on April 1st that we got.
- 22:05Charles: But it does feel a little bit cheaty
- 22:10Charles: that we did April Fool's jokes
- 22:11Charles: and we started the shtick days prior.
- 22:14Charles: Before.
- 22:15Charles: But the big reveal did happen on April 1st.
- 22:21Charles: It was great, and then it was like,
- 22:22Charles: ha ha,
- 22:22Charles: no, we just suck still.
- 22:25Mandy: (laughing)
- 22:26Mandy: So no more April Fools.
- 22:28Charles: None of my clothes fit.
- 22:29Mandy: Tell me about it.
- 22:30Mandy: What's happening that's making them not fit?
- 22:32Mandy: 'Cause you just got a new wardrobe.
- 22:34Charles: I've been working, I've been doing some wardrobe stuff
- 22:36Charles: over the last year,
- 22:38Charles: but like,
- 22:40Charles: none of it fits,
- 22:41Charles: except for like a few pieces of clothes,
- 22:44Charles: but like I have lost 60 pounds at this point.
- 22:47Mandy: Holy poo.
- 22:48Charles: Yay!
- 22:49Charles: So lost like a significant amount of weight
- 22:51Charles: and like I feel like those commercials
- 22:55Mandy: Yeah, before and after. - Before and after.
- 22:58Charles: Yeah,
- 22:58Charles: and it's just,
- 22:59Charles: it's so difficult.
- 23:01Charles: So I need your help with finding clothes.
- 23:05Charles: So I think we're gonna do that in a few episodes.
- 23:06Charles: We're gonna do some clothes shopping.
- 23:09Charles: We're taking Charles to Walmart.
- 23:11Charles: Oh my God.
- 23:12Charles: (laughing)
- 23:13Mandy: I make my own clothes,
- 23:15Mandy: so I don't know where to go shopping.
- 23:16Charles: Then nevermind.
- 23:18Chris: Yeah, Manny's really not the best choice for that.
- 23:20Chris: What should I do?
- 23:20Chris: Nora though,
- 23:22Chris: if she ever returns,
- 23:23Chris: I think would be a good choice.
- 23:25Mandy: I don't know, I have good sense of style though.
- 23:26Chris: Wait,
- 23:27Charles: you want me to go shopping with Nora?
- 23:29Chris: Yeah.
- 23:30Chris: (laughing)
- 23:31Chris: I want you to go shopping with Nora and I wanna film it.
- 23:34Charles: I love Nora.
- 23:34Charles: Because I think that'd be hysterical.
- 23:36Charles: I love Nora.
- 23:37Charles: However,
- 23:38Charles: Nora's sense of style is very particular,
- 23:44Charles: is the way that I'll put it.
- 23:46Mandy: I think we can put together outfits
- 23:48Mandy: from the internet for you, and that's the assignment.
- 23:50Charles: You know what?
- 23:52Charles: Can we do that?
- 23:53Charles: Can we do that maybe in the next couple weeks?
- 23:57Charles: Do you guys want that to be homework for this week, or?
- 23:59Mandy: No, no, no, we've got a lot.
- 24:00Mandy: We've got the Twilight.
- 24:01Chris: We gotta get through all the Twilight stuff first, I think.
- 24:03Charles: Once Twilight is over,
- 24:05Charles: we'll do a segment
- 24:07Charles: where you guys bring outfits for me to,
- 24:12Charles: or just like,
- 24:13Charles: here's the look.
- 24:15Charles: And you have to have the items for me to purchase too,
- 24:17Charles: if I like 'em.
- 24:19Charles: And then we could do like a fashion show.
- 24:22Charles: Oh, this is so fun!
- 24:24Charles: (laughing)
- 24:26Chris: I think Charles is trying to make this happen
- 24:29Chris: because it's a tax write-off if we do it for the show.
- 24:32Mandy: I mean, fair.
- 24:33Mandy: But do we get to like rank winners from each episode
- 24:36Mandy: of who,
- 24:36Mandy: I mean, not that we're making everything
- 24:38Mandy: a competition,
- 24:38Mandy: but everything is a competition.
- 24:39Charles: Everything is a competition,
- 24:40Charles: you're absolutely right.
- 24:41Mandy: Look, I got some really good baked goods,
- 24:44Mandy: they were amazing,
- 24:46Mandy: and I need more.
- 24:47Charles: Okay,
- 24:48Charles: how was the bread, by the way?
- 24:49Charles: I was kind of worried that it didn't come out.
- 24:51Mandy: No, no, no, it was so good.
- 24:51Mandy: Okay, good.
- 24:52Mandy: It was breakfast,
- 24:53Mandy: lunch, and dinner for a while.
- 24:54Chris: Okay, good.
- 24:55Mandy: So.
- 24:56Chris: How much of the cookie bars are left?
- 25:01Chris: Now?
- 25:01Charles: It's been like a month.
- 25:03Mandy: No, no, no.
- 25:04Mandy: I can't give you a real thing
- 25:06Mandy: 'cause I left them unsupervised in front of Diabetes Boy.
- 25:10Mandy: And I was like, "Hey, I asked you to put those
- 25:12Mandy: "in the freezer yesterday.
- 25:13Mandy: "Why didn't you put them in the freezer?"
- 25:14Mandy: And he's like,
- 25:15Mandy: "Yeah, I should put them in the freezer.
- 25:16Mandy: "I keep eating them."
- 25:17Charles: Womp womp.
- 25:18Mandy: So they're in the freezer,
- 25:19Mandy: what's left?
- 25:20Mandy: But I don't know how much that is 'cause
- 25:23Charles: You don't want them?
- 25:24Mandy: No, no, no, no, I don't.
- 25:25Charles: You don't love Chris?
- 25:27Mandy: Yes, that's exactly it.
- 25:30Mandy: No,
- 25:30Mandy: I can only have so much sweets at once.
- 25:33Mandy: And so I'm the person who will buy a package of cookies
- 25:37Mandy: and then eat them over the span of like three months.
- 25:39Charles: Yeah,
- 25:40Charles: I can't do that.
- 25:42Mandy: My husband is not,
- 25:44Mandy: and the problem is he'll go and eat my cookies
- 25:45Mandy: and I'll be like, "You dick."
- 25:46Mandy: And he's like, "You've had them for a month."
- 25:48Mandy: And I'm like, "No,
- 25:49Mandy: I was saving them
- 25:50Mandy: "for when I need them."
- 25:51Chris: Right, right.
- 25:52Chris: You need like a stash place
- 25:54Chris: where you can keep your secret cookies.
- 25:57Mandy: Yeah,
- 25:58Mandy: I need secret cookies.
- 26:00Charles: I can eat a whole box of Oreos,
- 26:04Charles: like a family size,
- 26:05Charles: in one sitting.
- 26:06Charles: It's a problem.
- 26:07Charles: Like I have a-- - I mean, or
- 26:09Charles: Eating disorder buddies,
- 26:10Charles: yeah!
- 26:11Charles: Yay!
- 26:12Mandy: Just mine goes the other way.
- 26:13Charles: Yeah,
- 26:14Charles: yeah.
- 26:15Mandy: Like I just won't eat for two weeks.
- 26:19Mandy: Yeah,
- 26:19Mandy: fun times!
- 26:20Mandy: Okay, what's up next?
- 26:21Mandy: Do we have around the nets?
- 26:23Mandy: Yeah, why don't we jump into the around the net?
- 26:26Mandy: 'Cause your voice keeps going up high like that.
- 26:27Mandy: What are we doing?
- 26:28Mandy: We're getting rid of it.
- 26:29Mandy: Are you trying to match mine?
- 26:38Charles: Okay, so I've got some videos for you guys this week.
- 26:41Charles: It's a
- 26:41Charles: Okay,
- 26:42Charles: is this radio announcer voice?
- 26:43Charles: Okay,
- 26:44Mandy: yes.
- 26:44Mandy: Look,
- 26:44Mandy: I'm not happy with the high voice,
- 26:46Mandy: not happy with the low voice.
- 26:47Mandy: The actor's just not happy today.
- 26:49Charles: I have some great videos.
- 26:50Charles: I'm very difficult to please.
- 26:52Charles: I have some great videos for you guys this week.
- 26:53Charles: Are they great?
- 26:54Mandy: How great are they?
- 26:56Charles: I agree.
- 26:57Charles: So this first one went pretty viral across the internet.
- 27:01Charles: It is this guy doing an impression
- 27:04Charles: of what baseball announcers sound like.
- 27:07Mandy: Do I have to have prior knowledge of baseball announcers?
- 27:10Charles: You just have to have been to a baseball game ever.
- 27:13Mandy: Okay,
- 27:14Mandy: done.
- 27:16Mandy: Moriarty with a fly, with a fly, a sound, wow.
- 27:19Mandy: (laughing)
- 27:20Mandy: Fly with a sound,
- 27:21Mandy: bow,
- 27:21Mandy: foul.
- 27:23Mandy: And I got some final sound, my final sound.
- 27:26Mandy: (laughing)
- 27:27Mandy: Final, final sound, my final, final sound.
- 27:31Mandy: Here comes the final.
- 27:33Mandy: It's a final bow, so let's all say wow!
- 27:36Mandy: Wow, what a final bow!
- 27:39Mandy: (laughing)
- 27:41Charles: So like every single like major league baseball team
- 27:44Charles: is cutting that sound in with their footage right now.
- 27:47Charles: It's delightful.
- 27:49Charles: And nobody can tell the difference.
- 27:50Mandy: I'm gonna say,
- 27:51Mandy: you should just play it
- 27:52Mandy: We're starting a real game and then nobody will know.
- 27:55Charles: Yeah.
- 27:56Charles: This next one,
- 27:58Charles: I already kind of hinted at it,
- 28:00Charles: is teaching water confidence to a toddler.
- 28:03Charles: It's very quick.
- 28:05Charles: So
- 28:05Mandy: If it doesn't end well.
- 28:06Charles: So we will play this multiple times.
- 28:09Charles: Oh boy.
- 28:10Charles: (piano music)
- 28:13Mandy: (laughing)
- 28:16Mandy: (laughing)
- 28:23Mandy: One more time, one more time.
- 28:27Mandy: (laughing)
- 28:32Mandy: Holy shit.
- 28:34Mandy: Oh my god.
- 28:37Mandy: (laughing)
- 28:39Mandy: That's amazing.
- 28:40Chris: That might be the best video you've brought
- 28:42Chris: to around the net so far, Charles.
- 28:46Charles: I saw that at like 11 o'clock at night,
- 28:49Charles: and I'm cackling,
- 28:51Charles: and I'm just like,
- 28:52Charles: I'm going to get in trouble with my apartment complex
- 28:55Charles: with how loud I'm laughing.
- 28:57Charles: That's great.
- 28:58Charles: This next one is a new sport,
- 29:00Charles: hobby cross racing.
- 29:02Chris: What, okay.
- 29:06Mandy: Here they go, they're off on the fast days, guys.
- 29:08Mandy: It's like the hobby horse.
- 29:09Mandy: It's like hobby horses.
- 29:10Mandy: Oh my God, no.
- 29:11Mandy: I don't know if this is a shirt or a headdress.
- 29:13Mandy: I don't know if this is just too many...
- 29:14Mandy: Okay, I said earlier that men need more hobbies.
- 29:17Mandy: I didn't mean this.
- 29:18Mandy: You didn't?
- 29:19Mandy: I didn't mean this.
- 29:22Mandy: This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
- 29:25Chris: No bike needed.
- 29:26Mandy: Who are these people?
- 29:29Chris: I love this so much.
- 29:31Mandy: We got a new hobby.
- 29:32Mandy: There is a bike thing in Loveland.
- 29:35Mandy: You could do this and we could videotape you.
- 29:38Mandy: Should we?
- 29:39Mandy: I will sit and watch you.
- 29:42Mandy: I am going to be so honored by that.
- 29:44Mandy: Immediately.
- 29:46Mandy: And we'll just blame it on the elevation.
- 29:48Mandy: Not that we live here or anything.

- 44:27Charles: I haven't I've taken it multiple times.
- 44:29Mandy: Yeah, it always says yeah.
- 44:31Mandy: Yeah.
- 44:31Charles: Yeah.
- 44:31Charles: It's like hey,
- 44:33Charles: you're like a mega autistic
- 44:36Mandy: Like we're all cousins though like the neurodivergent people because like my OCD
- 44:40Mandy: Matches some things and my PhD matches a lot too. I'm like I could almost fail this if I tried
- 44:46Mandy: Yeah, I didn't try
- 44:49Charles: I've got one final video.
- 44:50Mandy: Yeah,
- 44:51Charles: this is just titled what 2026 is like
- 44:54Charles: Oh
- 45:25Mandy: (laughing)
- 45:30Mandy: That's another thing.
- 45:35Charles: Wow.
- 45:35Charles: Kids getting hurt and old people getting flung around.
- 45:41Mandy: Do you just like watching the vulnerable population?
- 45:44Mandy: (laughing)
- 45:46Charles: Yes, you're absolutely right.
- 45:47Mandy: Right, right,
- 45:48Mandy: okay, well that's telling.
- 45:50Mandy: That's definitely telling.
- 45:52Mandy: (laughing)
- 45:54Chris: We found Charles' kink.
- 45:56Chris: (laughing)
- 45:57Mandy: I don't know.
- 45:57Mandy: Isn't that a sexual thing?
- 45:59Chris: Unless it is.
- 46:00Chris: Oh no.
- 46:01Chris: It is now, Charles.
- 46:01Mandy: Children are involved.
- 46:03Chris: No, children are involved.
- 46:04Chris: Children are involved.
- 46:05Chris: Children are involved.
- 46:05Chris: The grandparents are involved.
- 46:07Chris: (laughing)
- 46:08Chris: It's only sexual when they're over 70.
- 46:11Mandy: There you go.
- 46:11Chris: Yeah,
- 46:11Chris: there you go.
- 46:12Chris: It's true.
- 46:12Mandy: Put it on a t-shirt.
- 46:13Chris: There you go.
- 46:14Charles: Chris, what did you bring?
- 46:15Chris: So I got one that ties into Twilight
- 46:19Chris: and just grab your favorite person
- 46:23Chris: and do some sexy parkour.
- 46:35Charles: They always do the stupid slow run.
- 46:43Charles: I'm sorry though,
- 46:45Charles: the baseball scene in the first movie
- 46:47Charles: goes so fucking hard.
- 46:49Chris: It's so good.
- 46:50Chris: It's so good.
- 46:51Chris: That was my favorite part of that movie was the baseball scene.
- 46:55Chris: It's for how insane it was
- 46:57Chris: Yeah,
- 46:57Mandy: look, I just want to watch the burlesque version
- 47:01Chris: Burlesque version would be great
- 47:04Chris: This next one is just goals for life
- 47:17Charles: Positive because it's got pause.
- 47:19Charles: Yeah
- 47:23Chris: It does look like Luna
- 47:25Chris: Absolutely,
- 47:26Chris: and then finally let's figure out how to deal with the seals and orcas
- 47:32Video: Somebody was asking why the person was just filming and not helping the seal
- 47:36Video: Let me show you how to do that
- 47:37Video: Once the orca grabs the seal
- 47:38Video: Maybe you should be a decent human being drop the camera jump in the air then suffocate the orca with your legs
- 47:43Video: This will cause it to release the seal after that pull it further onto the beach
- 47:46Video: Once you do that back up so you have enough running room to jump in the air grab it and throw it into the ocean
- 47:51Video: Immediately follow the orca grab the nearest swordfish use it to slice it in half head to the beach then spear the seal because we
- 47:56Video: Don't show mercy in this dojo. Anyway guys, that's how you handle this situation
- 48:02Charles: It's true that's how you should deal with the situation.
- 48:05Charles: Yeah, I like how he throws this the whale like that guy threw that kid
- 48:10Charles: (laughing)
- 48:15Mandy: It was exactly like that.
- 48:17Chris: It was the same thing.
- 48:18Chris: That's why I wanted to bookend that segment,
- 48:20Chris: yeah.
- 48:24Charles: What kind of music should I play for the sponsor spot?
- 48:27Mandy: I say we do something a little upbeat.
- 48:29Charles: Upbeat.
- 48:29Mandy: We're all a little tired,
- 48:30Mandy: right?
- 48:31Mandy: Pop?
- 48:31Mandy: Oh yeah.
- 48:31Charles: Are we thinking like pop, punk?
- 48:33Mandy: Ooh, punk.
- 48:34Charles: Give us some punk.
- 48:35Charles: Punk.
- 48:36Charles: Some pop punk.
- 48:37Charles: Pop punk.
- 48:38Charles: Let's look up pop.
- 48:39Mandy: Avril Lavigne sort of yeah,
- 48:41Charles: we want some skater boy. This song is called this song is called shitty train
- 48:48Charles: It's playing off my laptop wait hold on
- 48:55Charles: We cannot
- 49:00Charles: Folks
- 49:01Charles: Loudspeaker,
- 49:03Charles: what do you know about loudspeaker?
- 49:04Charles: You know that we air some pretty cool shows like vibe check
- 49:09Charles: But did you know that there's a whole building that you can rent out?
- 49:14Mandy: An entire building?
- 49:15Charles: An entire,
- 49:16Charles: well,
- 49:17Charles: not an entire building.
- 49:19Charles: However,
- 49:19Charles: there is a space that you can rent out.
- 49:21Charles: And you can go to loudspeakerstudios.org if you're in the Northern Colorado area for the
- 49:27Charles: least expensive,
- 49:28Charles: highest quality sound recording studio in,
- 49:33Charles: like I said, Northern Colorado.
- 49:35Charles: So you can do podcasts.
- 49:38Charles: You can do product releases.
- 49:44Charles: You can record your band here if you have a small band.
- 49:48Charles: We don't have that much space.
- 49:49Mandy: And let me just say, if you like pushing buttons,
- 49:51Mandy: we have buttons for you to push.
- 49:52Chris: We have so many buttons.
- 49:53Charles: So many buttons.
- 49:54Charles: There are so many frickin' buttons for you to press.
- 49:58Charles: Live streaming,
- 49:59Charles: immediate file delivery, hands-off experience,
- 50:02Charles: including a producer who can help you out
- 50:05Charles: these trying times. Pushing the buttons.
- 50:07Charles: Pushing the buttons.
- 50:08Charles: We have so many skilled button
- 50:10Charles: pushers here. So many. There's two on this show. There's three on this show. Yeah. Right now. Yeah.
- 50:14Charles: Holy shit. You're all good at pushing. Oh my god.
- 50:17Charles: I will push your buttons.
- 50:19Charles: That sounds,
- 50:20Charles: that almost came out sexual.
- 50:23Charles: I will only do so with consent.
- 50:26Mandy: There you go.
- 50:27Charles: But loudspeakersudios.org
- 50:29Charles: check us out.
- 50:32Charles: It's the best time to start a show.
- 50:34Charles: If you're a white guy,
- 50:36Charles: you have to
- 50:36Charles: have a podcast.
- 50:37Charles: Yeah.
- 50:38Chris: It is a rule.
- 50:39Chris: It is a rule.
- 50:39Chris: According to the International Association of White Guys.
- 50:44Charles: So once again,
- 50:45Charles: that's loudspeakerstudios.org.
- 50:49Charles: Rent the space out.
- 50:51Charles: Get higher quality video
- 50:54Charles: and audio today.
- 50:56Charles: Right now.
- 50:57Mandy: Yeah. Look how professional this is.
- 50:59Mandy: This is great.
- 51:00Mandy: Super fresh.
- 51:01Charles: All right.
- 51:03Charles: Twilight.
- 51:04Charles: Ooh.
- 51:07Charles: Exciting.
- 51:09Charles: How?
- 51:11Charles: So,
- 51:11Charles: okay, first off, let's, let's, let's, I'm going to go to,
- 51:14Charles: go to Wikipedia.
- 51:16Charles: Good old Wikipedia.
- 51:17Charles: I'm going to read a little bit about this.
- 51:19Charles: Wikipedia says,
- 51:20Charles: "Twilight Saga New Moon is a 2009 American romantic fantasy film directed
- 51:25Charles: Created by Chris Weitz from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg based on the 2006 novel
- 51:30Charles: New Moon by Stephanie Meyer,
- 51:31Charles: it is a sequel to Twilight and a second installment of the
- 51:34Charles: Twilight Saga film series.
- 51:36Charles: The film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson,
- 51:38Charles: and Taylor Lautner,
- 51:40Charles: reprising their roles
- 51:41Charles: as Bella,
- 51:41Charles: Edward,
- 51:42Charles: and Jacob,
- 51:43Charles: respectively.
- 51:44Charles: In the film,
- 51:44Charles: Bella gets closer with Jacob, who is a werewolf,
- 51:47Charles: after Edward leaves her,
- 51:48Charles: But when the vampire decides to take a drastic move,
- 51:52Charles: she must make a decision between the two.
- 51:56Mandy: Good old love triangle. Who doesn't love that?
- 51:59Mandy: Favorite trope.
- 52:00Chris: Wait,
- 52:00Chris: Jacob's last name is Black?
- 52:03Charles: Yeah.
- 52:04Charles: The whole family is the Blacks.
- 52:08Charles: How creative.
- 52:13Charles: Okay.
- 52:16Mandy: There is lots of lore about how racist Stephanie Myers is.
- 52:21Mandy: Yeah,
- 52:22Mandy: 100%.
- 52:23Mandy: Ooh,
- 52:23Chris: I don't know this. Tell me more.
- 52:25Mandy: Yeah, so that's why we stopped. We were like, "Oh wait."
- 52:27Chris: Tell me more. Tell me more.
- 52:32Mandy: So the studio wanted to hire some black people to be Collinses,
- 52:37Mandy: and she put her foot down and was
- 52:39Mandy: like, "No, because they're supposed to be sheer perfection,
- 52:42Mandy: and that's not perfection."
- 52:43Charles: Right.
- 52:44Mandy: Wow, okay. - And so only being
- 52:45Mandy: pure crystal white makes you perfect,
- 52:47Mandy: which is why she acquiesced and said,
- 52:49Mandy: "Fine, a black person can be a baddie."
- 52:52Chris: Right, 'cause certainly the only person
- 52:55Chris: who dies in this movie is,
- 52:56Chris: well,
- 52:57Chris: I guess there's two.
- 52:58Chris: A black vampire dies and an indigenous person dies.
- 53:02Charles: Right, that's the other part,
- 53:03Charles: is the indigenous people.
- 53:05Charles: She Googled once what indigenous people are in the area
- 53:09Charles: and found that, and it has nothing to do
- 53:12Charles: with the actual people who live there.
- 53:14Mandy: Like dream catchers, not from that tribe.
- 53:19Mandy: Just like any of the lore just completely just made it,
- 53:22Mandy: like stole from all of the different tribes
- 53:25Mandy: to make it one thing.
- 53:27Mandy: Like she literally is like,
- 53:29Mandy: what are Native American people?
- 53:31Mandy: Oh no,
- 53:32Mandy: no, no.
- 53:32Mandy: What are Indians like?
- 53:33Charles: Yeah.
- 53:36Charles: Chris, what are Indians like?
- 53:39Charles: In five words.
- 53:41Charles: (laughing)
- 53:43Chris: They stole our land,
- 53:46Chris: bastards.
- 53:48Chris: (clapping)
- 53:51Charles: Congratulations.
- 53:52Charles: Thank you, thank you.
- 53:53Charles: You passed the racism test.
- 53:54Charles: (laughing)
- 53:55Charles: Okay,
- 53:57Charles: broad strokes.
- 53:57Charles: I have many racist friends.
- 53:58Charles: I mean, I have many Indian friends.
- 54:01Charles: Broad strokes.
- 54:02Mandy: Okay, yes.
- 54:02Charles: What did we think about the movie?
- 54:04Charles: If we were to give it a score,
- 54:07Charles: like one to 10.
- 54:08Chris: Well, hold on, I think we should end with the score.
- 54:10Chris: First,
- 54:10Chris: I'm gonna talk about the fact that
- 54:12Chris: I expected to hate this movie.
- 54:15Chris: I didn't.
- 54:16Mandy: Okay, did you like it more than Twilight?
- 54:20Chris: I did.
- 54:21Chris: What?
- 54:22Mandy: No, okay, okay, okay, okay.
- 54:23Mandy: Tell us why,
- 54:25Mandy: make your case.
- 54:25Chris: I'm not entirely sure.
- 54:27Chris: Okay.
- 54:28Chris: Okay,
- 54:29Chris: so
- 54:29Mandy: I have an idea.
- 54:30Mandy: Does it have anything to do with the sheer amount
- 54:35Mandy: of shirtless men?
- 54:36Chris: No,
- 54:38Chris: but I mean, that's a nice plus.
- 54:39Chris: But no, I think what it came down to was like,
- 54:42Chris: there was actual,
- 54:44Chris: like real conflict in this movie,
- 54:47Chris: and the actual love triangle moves along.
- 54:50Chris: Whereas in the first film,
- 54:52Chris: Jacob just kind of shows up
- 54:53Chris: and says hi,
- 54:54Chris: and then a couple of times,
- 54:56Chris: and then says,
- 54:57Chris: stay away from this guy for reasons
- 54:59Chris: I won't tell you, and that's it.
- 55:00Mandy: 'Cause his dad offered him money.
- 55:02Chris: Right,
- 55:02Chris: so there's more conflict in this.
- 55:06Chris: I wasn't crazy about the seemingly hour long
- 55:10Chris: depressive episode that Bella went through.
- 55:12Chris: I like how they go through every single month.
- 55:15Charles: Like we don't know what months are.
- 55:17Chris: Though honestly,
- 55:18Chris: that was actually one of my favorite
- 55:20Chris: parts of the movie,
- 55:21Chris: not that storytelling device,
- 55:23Chris: but the way that they chose to show it,
- 55:26Chris: where the camera was rotating around her.
- 55:29Chris: Every time it went out to the window,
- 55:30Chris: it was a different season.
- 55:32Chris: I did kind of like that.
- 55:34Chris: Still felt it was unnecessary.
- 55:36Chris: Oh. - What?
- 55:37Mandy: Some of us get motion sickness,
- 55:39Mandy: and some of us get motion sickness from watching TV.
- 55:42Chris: That's fair,
- 55:43Chris: yeah.
- 55:44Chris: That's fair.
- 55:45Chris: But yeah,
- 55:45Chris: I didn't hate it.
- 55:46Chris: I just, I wish,
- 55:48Chris: I feel like it could be
- 55:49Chris: a half hour shorter,
- 55:51Charles: easily.
- 55:51Charles: I think like an hour,
- 55:53Charles: for sure.
- 55:55Charles: Like, oh my God,
- 55:56Charles: I hate this movie so much.
- 56:00Charles: (laughing)
- 56:01Charles: Tell us, Charles, tell us why you hate it.
- 56:03Mandy: Okay,
- 56:03Charles: so,
- 56:04Mandy: oh, we can't talk about the next one, okay.
- 56:05Charles: Okay,
- 56:06Charles: so first off,
- 56:07Charles: the first half of this movie
- 56:09Charles: is the exact same fucking movie as the first movie.
- 56:14Charles: She meets a wild and crazy person.
- 56:17Charles: This time it's a werewolf.
- 56:19Charles: She kind of falls in love with this guy,
- 56:22Charles: meets all of his wacky family,
- 56:24Charles: and then some shit happens.
- 56:27Charles: (laughing)
- 56:28Charles: She has to tell her dad, "Sorry,
- 56:29Charles: Dad,
- 56:30Charles: I have to go away for a little bit."
- 56:32Charles: Which exactly happened in the first movie as well.
- 56:35Charles: And I was just like sitting there, I'm like,
- 56:37Charles: this all happened before.
- 56:40Charles: Why are we watching the same movie again?
- 56:43Chris: Yeah, there was definitely some retread there for sure.
- 56:46Chris: I think they could have told a better story
- 56:50Chris: if they hadn't spent so long on that.
- 56:53Chris: Because yeah,
- 56:53Chris: aside from the whole like falling in love
- 56:55Chris: with Edward thing that happens in the first movie,
- 56:58Chris: this is very much the same.
- 57:00Chris: Except that she kind of doesn't really fall in love
- 57:03Chris: with Jacob,
- 57:04Chris: like she makes it,
- 57:05Chris: she seemingly to me makes it very clear
- 57:08Chris: that she's like,
- 57:09Chris: hey,
- 57:10Chris: you're second fiddle
- 57:11Chris: and the only reason I'm hanging out with you
- 57:13Chris: is because the one I really want left me.
- 57:16Chris: I feel like she makes that,
- 57:18Chris: she makes that very clear to him.
- 57:20Mandy: Yeah. - Of the one you're with.
- 57:23Charles: So is it a love triangle then?
- 57:25Mandy: I don't,
- 57:25Chris: I think by the end of the movie,
- 57:27Chris: I think it is because then she's gone through
- 57:29Chris: the whole thing where he saves her,
- 57:31Chris: where Jacob saves her and this whole uneasy truce
- 57:36Chris: between the Cullens and the puppies.
- 57:39Chris: But that was another issue.
- 57:43Chris: The CGI on the puppies,
- 57:45Chris: except for Jacob,
- 57:47Chris: all looked like ass.
- 57:48Chris: They looked absolutely terrible.
- 57:50Chris: You could tell they spent an extra few minutes
- 57:52Chris: on Jacob's CGI model when he's a puppy,
- 57:56Chris: but the rest are just dog water.
- 57:58Charles: Well,
- 57:58Charles: it's also a very cheap movie.
- 58:01Charles: Like still,
- 58:02Charles: I think they doubled the budget,
- 58:04Charles: but even that,
- 58:05Charles: it's still under
- 58:07Charles: like what you would expect for like a
- 58:10Chris: This had a $50 million budget.
- 58:12Chris: That's still-- - That ain't cheap.
- 58:14Mandy: Right,
- 58:15Mandy: but like in Hollywood
- 58:16Mandy: I mean, that CGI,
- 58:17Mandy: the amount of money.
- 58:19Chris: For $50 million,
- 58:20Chris: they could have done better CGI.
- 58:22Mandy: I feel like it was rushed to get out
- 58:24Chris: while the movie was out. - Yeah, it was also 2009.
- 58:26Mandy: Yeah,
- 58:27Mandy: so is it better for the time?
- 58:28Mandy: Like back then, would it have been more impressive?
- 58:31Charles: I don't think so.
- 58:33Charles: I think so.
- 58:33Charles: I think it looked fine.
- 58:35Charles: I think what really bugged me,
- 58:36Charles: there was a lot of green screening,
- 58:39Charles: especially when they were in the woods.
- 58:41Charles: So it was just like this cardboard cutout
- 58:44Charles: of Edward and Bella in the woods,
- 58:46Charles: like standing there and I'm like,
- 58:48Charles: this looks so bad.
- 58:50Mandy: Did you see how they did the filming for Jacob
- 58:53Mandy: and the scenes with him?
- 58:54Mandy: No.
- 58:55Mandy: Oh my God, they literally have him in like a green suit
- 58:57Mandy: with like balls and she's like petting his head
- 58:59Mandy: in real life, like I'll bring that next week.
- 59:00Mandy: Oh my God, you need to bring that next week.
- 59:03Mandy: The only other thing that I thought,
- 59:04Mandy: I should've brought it, I should've had them,
- 59:05Mandy: I should've had them.
- 59:07Mandy: I like this movie a little more now
- 59:10Mandy: because I learned they built a whole wave machine
- 59:13Mandy: to drown Kristen Stewart.
- 59:15Video: Hell yeah.
- 59:16Mandy: And then she was just miserable the whole time
- 59:19Mandy: and like hates being in water.
- 59:21Mandy: And so they were like,
- 59:22Mandy: they created the actual wave that hit her
- 59:24Mandy: by dumping like thousands of gallons of water on her.
- 59:28Charles: That's awesome,
- 59:29Charles: legitimately.
- 59:30Chris: Which is funny because I thought that whole thing was CGI.
- 59:34Chris: (laughing)
- 59:36Mandy: I just felt like I saw some footage of that
- 59:38Mandy: and I was entertained and I was also entertained,
- 59:40Mandy: you know,
- 59:41Mandy: let's drown Kristen Stewart.
- 59:43Mandy: I do want to say that I found some things
- 59:46Mandy: Nora did send me,
- 59:47Mandy: her notes.
- 59:48Mandy: And I did find some questions she had very interesting.
- 59:53Mandy: She said,
- 59:55Mandy: "Is moaning better than mouth sounds when kissing?"
- 59:58Mandy: Oh my God,
- 1:00:00Chris: yes.
- 1:00:00Chris: Wait, wait, wait,
- 1:00:01Chris: say that again.
- 1:00:02Mandy: Is moaning better than mouth sounds when kissing?
- 1:00:07Charles: Yes,
- 1:00:08Charles: this was a delightful moment.
- 1:00:10Charles: I laughed so loud when this happened.
- 1:00:13Charles: When Robert Pattinson goes,
- 1:00:15Mandy: "Uh."
- 1:00:17Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:00:20Charles: Incredible.
- 1:00:20Charles: How does that go, Charles?
- 1:00:21Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:00:23Mandy: I think we found a clip.
- 1:00:26Charles: You're welcome,
- 1:00:27Charles: you're welcome internet.
- 1:00:28Charles: But it was so funny,
- 1:00:30Charles: like the context is they're making out
- 1:00:33Charles: and then,
- 1:00:34Charles: 'cause she's like,
- 1:00:35Charles: "Kiss me."
- 1:00:35Charles: And he's like,
- 1:00:36Charles: "Okay."
- 1:00:37Charles: (kissing)
- 1:00:37Mandy: (groaning)
- 1:00:39Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:00:44Mandy: Okay,
- 1:00:45Mandy: so do we,
- 1:00:45Mandy: we need to answer this question
- 1:00:47Mandy: legitimately,
- 1:00:47Mandy: is moaning better than kissing noises?
- 1:00:51Mandy: I
- 1:00:52Mandy: Will take moaning over kissing noises any day like that. What are the kissing noises?
- 1:00:56Charles: like sloppy
- 1:00:58Charles: Slurp noises slurp.
- 1:01:00Mandy: Yeah, that's right. That's what it is. It is slurp.
- 1:01:03Charles: Yeah, it's very slurpy noises
- 1:01:05Mandy: I'll take moaning over that I would take moaning over that. Yeah,
- 1:01:08Mandy: honestly,
- 1:01:09Chris: I think so,
- 1:01:10Chris: too
- 1:01:10Chris: But not that little baby little thing. I you know,
- 1:01:15Chris: it's like you're you're 200 years old grow up
- 1:01:18Charles: Any other questions that Nora um
- 1:01:22Mandy: Just you know a lot of like hey,
- 1:01:25Mandy: so it's her so she felt like it's her senior year
- 1:01:30Mandy: And she's letting a boy ruin it
- 1:01:35Mandy: question mark
- 1:01:36Chris: She definitely is and that was what weird thing to me cuz like senior year like you're busy as fuck when you're a senior
- 1:01:42Chris: And I don't know how she was able to spend months
- 1:01:46Chris: in her room doing nothing and still graduate.
- 1:01:50Charles: I had so many open free periods my senior year.
- 1:01:53Charles: Show off.
- 1:01:55Chris: Slacker.
- 1:01:56Mandy: How nice.
- 1:02:00Mandy: I did too, it was called ditching all my classes.
- 1:02:05Mandy: She's very upset that they did not wear helmets.
- 1:02:07Charles: When they went motorcycle riding?
- 1:02:09Charles: Motorcycle riding.
- 1:02:10Charles: When she hit the rock,
- 1:02:12Charles: that was pretty great.
- 1:02:14Charles: I feel for that stunt,
- 1:02:17Charles: her stunt double for that scene.
- 1:02:18Charles: Yeah, that was gnarly.
- 1:02:19Charles: Like that was a pretty solid hit of that rock.
- 1:02:22Chris: Although when she decides to ride
- 1:02:25Chris: with the biker dude who was harassing her in the first movie
- 1:02:28Chris: I was like,
- 1:02:29Chris: come on, that's a little,
- 1:02:30Chris: I understand you're trying to test your theory,
- 1:02:33Chris: but you're going a little wild there.
- 1:02:35Charles: She had her bat,
- 1:02:36Charles: she was a bat in her bad girl moment.
- 1:02:39Chris: Yeah, it lasted all of 30 seconds.
- 1:02:42Chris: And she probably was like,
- 1:02:44Chris: "This guy's gonna hurt me."
- 1:02:46Mandy: I don't think that that was the answer,
- 1:02:49Mandy: but sure.
- 1:02:49Mandy: Okay,
- 1:02:50Mandy: so the other question is,
- 1:02:51Mandy: isn't the number one rule no killing other vampires,
- 1:02:54Mandy: or is that just interview with a vampire?
- 1:02:58Mandy: I think Nora needs to watch more vampire content.
- 1:03:02Charles: Yeah.
- 1:03:02Mandy: Because each world has their own rules.
- 1:03:04Charles: Right, exactly.
- 1:03:05Mandy: And they don't overlap very much.
- 1:03:07Chris: Right.
- 1:03:09Chris: Especially when in this movie you've got Michael Sheen who's like I'm in charge of all the vampires
- 1:03:14Charles: Okay, actually I've got something that I wanted to bring up while you look through this. Yeah,
- 1:03:18Charles: so
- 1:03:19Charles: Bella
- 1:03:21Charles: in this
- 1:03:22Charles: Has some power
- 1:03:25Charles: Where vampires powers don't work on her?
- 1:03:28Mandy: Yeah, I know. Oh,
- 1:03:29Mandy: this is bothers me
- 1:03:30Charles: Okay, go go except when they do I know
- 1:03:39Charles: They did it in this one.
- 1:03:40Charles: Okay,
- 1:03:41Mandy: um when she's upset about the throwing a birthday party. Oh, yeah, you're right
- 1:03:44Charles: Oh, you're using your magic powers. I mean no fair right and Alice as well. I'm moving to me her future
- 1:03:50Charles: Right,
- 1:03:51Chris: so it only makes sense. But what Alice sees is pretty fucked up because she's like, oh you died
- 1:03:56Chris: She's like no,
- 1:03:58Charles: right, right,
- 1:03:59Charles: but still
- 1:04:00Charles: Stephanie Myers is not consistent.
- 1:04:02Charles: Like either the powers work or they don't and
- 1:04:09Chris: Maybe they're based on her hormones or something.
- 1:04:12Chris: I don't know
- 1:04:14Chris: It's weird
- 1:04:15Chris: so
- 1:04:16Chris: Michael Sheen, what did you think of my I?
- 1:04:19Chris: Think he was doing Michael Sheen things and that's always entertaining
- 1:04:25Chris: What was weird was Vecna just sitting over in the corner being like I'm judging you yeah
- 1:04:31Charles: young Vecna
- 1:04:32Chris: baby Vecna
- 1:04:37Charles: He was one of the Volturi.
- 1:04:39Mandy: Oh my God, Adam's like,
- 1:04:40Mandy: no,
- 1:04:40Mandy: this is just,
- 1:04:41Mandy: just right now I'm getting, oh wow.
- 1:04:43Charles: And Dakota Fanning,
- 1:04:44Charles: what do we think about Dakota?
- 1:04:45Charles: She sucks in this series.
- 1:04:47Chris: I mean, they didn't really give her much to do.
- 1:04:49Mandy: No, wait for it.
- 1:04:50Charles: It's, oh,
- 1:04:51Mandy: trust me.
- 1:04:52Mandy: Oh, it gets better?
- 1:04:53Charles: Oh,
- 1:04:54Charles: Chris,
- 1:04:55Charles: the whole series gets so much better.
- 1:05:00Mandy: Yes, yes! - Look at him,
- 1:05:01Mandy: he's so tiny! - No, that's true!
- 1:05:03Chris: Honestly,
- 1:05:03Chris: I did not, I did not catch that in the moment.
- 1:05:06Chris: I only realized that later when I was reading
- 1:05:10Chris: like Wikipedia stuff about it.
- 1:05:11Chris: So yeah, I didn't see him at all.
- 1:05:18Chris: All right, what else do we think?
- 1:05:20Mandy: So
- 1:05:21Chris: I liked the original music,
- 1:05:22Chris: like the soundtrack stuff that got added to the movie.
- 1:05:25Chris: Like the Tom York song was great.
- 1:05:27Chris: I'd actually never heard that before.
- 1:05:29Chris: And being I'm a big Radiohead fan,
- 1:05:31Chris: I was kind of disappointed in myself.
- 1:05:32Chris: So that was cool.
- 1:05:36Chris: So like the movies may suck, but they've got good soundtrack.
- 1:05:39Mandy: You unfortunately,
- 1:05:41Mandy: it's Stephanie Myers was a big part of that.
- 1:05:44Mandy: Very influential in the choices of music,
- 1:05:48Mandy: which means,
- 1:05:49Mandy: no, I say,
- 1:05:49Mandy: unfortunately, because like I don't want to find anything redeeming
- 1:05:53Mandy: about Stephanie Meyer.
- 1:05:54Chris: OK, so here's here's the thing.
- 1:05:55Chris: Do we hate Stephanie Meyer?
- 1:05:57Chris: Is that is that the consensus?
- 1:06:00Chris: I don't know anything about her other than I would say Stephanie
- 1:06:03Charles: Meyer over JK Rowling.
- 1:06:05Charles: I mean, that's that's not saying much,
- 1:06:07Charles: Charles.
- 1:06:09Charles: But that's yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 1:06:11Charles: That's not saying very much.
- 1:06:13Charles: I think I she put out multiple books
- 1:06:18Charles: and they became super popular.
- 1:06:20Charles: That's there's something to be said about that.
- 1:06:21Charles: I'm not going to judge somebody for like what I think is like
- 1:06:24Charles: the quality of their writing and say like, oh, they suck at writing
- 1:06:28Charles: when they're international bestseller.
- 1:06:31Charles: Right.
- 1:06:32Mandy: Right.
- 1:06:32Mandy: No, but there is a lot, I think, of her pushing her agenda.
- 1:06:34Mandy: In the books,
- 1:06:36Mandy: you know,
- 1:06:38Charles: very yeah virginity marriage
- 1:06:43Charles: That that kind of stuff it's very oh
- 1:06:46Chris: So as this is all like very Mormon coded then. Oh my god
- 1:06:51Mandy: It gets it gets it gets way worse.
- 1:06:53Charles: It gets way
- 1:06:55Charles: towards the end
- 1:06:57Mandy: So Nora did have a point of where she said
- 1:07:02Mandy: That Bell is having issues with her aging. She's only 18
- 1:07:06Chris: Like what the heck I did find that a bit ridiculous
- 1:07:09Chris: Like I understand you're worried about a far-off distant problem where you'll be older and Jacob burn
- 1:07:15Chris: Edward will be the same age but like
- 1:07:17Chris: Freaking out that you're 18 and getting pissed off when people say happy birthday is a little bit extreme
- 1:07:23Mandy: I well, I would have that
- 1:07:25Mandy: Okay
- 1:07:25Mandy: So one I think women are really held to a different standard than men with aging true. And so there are
- 1:07:31Mandy: You know like I'm not,
- 1:07:34Mandy: I act vain,
- 1:07:34Mandy: but I'm not really vain like that.
- 1:07:36Mandy: But like I've seen like my sister struggle
- 1:07:38Mandy: with wanting to like get Botox at a really young age.
- 1:07:41Mandy: Or plastic,
- 1:07:41Mandy: she got plastic surgery pretty young too.
- 1:07:44Mandy: And so like that not aging starts in really,
- 1:07:48Mandy: really, really young.
- 1:07:49Mandy: And the feeling that you need to not age hits.
- 1:07:52Mandy: There is a theory that Bella wasn't actually interested
- 1:07:57Mandy: in Edward until she learned that he was a vampire
- 1:08:00Mandy: because then she could live forever and not age.
- 1:08:04Mandy: And so the entire,
- 1:08:05Mandy: if you look at the entire series that way
- 1:08:07Mandy: and it is interesting to watch it that way.
- 1:08:09Charles: I'm gonna watch it with this in mind for the next movie.
- 1:08:12Mandy: Because then all of her pushing isn't because
- 1:08:14Mandy: she loves Edward and wants to stay young for him,
- 1:08:16Mandy: but it's that she wants to live forever and be young.
- 1:08:19Chris: And is just using him as an excuse for that?
- 1:08:21Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:08:22Mandy: and yeah, and that's the concessions
- 1:08:24Mandy: she's willing to make to get what she wants.
- 1:08:27Mandy: That seems,
- 1:08:28Chris: I mean, I could see that being plausible,
- 1:08:30Mandy: but it also seems a little-- - It wasn't me
- 1:08:31Mandy: who came up with this. - Yeah.
- 1:08:32Mandy: It was Kristen Stewart.
- 1:08:34Chris: It seems like it would be a little too convenient.
- 1:08:38Chris: Because there's no indication prior to the,
- 1:08:41Chris: you know,
- 1:08:42Chris: falling in love with a vampire thing.
- 1:08:44Chris: Keep watching.
- 1:08:44Chris: That she,
- 1:08:45Chris: right.
- 1:08:45Chris: But like prior to that,
- 1:08:47Chris: she has no issues with her age.
- 1:08:50Chris: So I would think if that were a prime character trait
- 1:08:53Chris: of hers,
- 1:08:53Chris: that we would have seen or heard something
- 1:08:55Chris: about that before the inciting incident.
- 1:08:58Mandy: Well,
- 1:08:58Mandy: I think because the story isn't necessarily told
- 1:09:01Mandy: from,
- 1:09:02Mandy: I don't know, I don't know how,
- 1:09:05Mandy: I think within the books it is told from Bella's side.
- 1:09:08Chris: It's intriguing though, for sure.
- 1:09:10Chris: I mean, what the hell do I know?
- 1:09:11Mandy: If I was just using you to make me immortal,
- 1:09:15Mandy: I would be like, hey, this is 'cause I love you so much.
- 1:09:17Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:09:18Mandy: Like, hey, I can't live without you.
- 1:09:21Mandy: Like, I need to live with you forever.
- 1:09:23Mandy: Like, you're it for me.
- 1:09:25Mandy: I wouldn't be saying, hey, turn me into a vampire
- 1:09:27Mandy: and they'll check you later.
- 1:09:29Chris: I will say the most comical thing about this movie for me
- 1:09:32Chris: was not the movie itself,
- 1:09:34Chris: but the reaction of the person who was sitting next to me.
- 1:09:37Chris: Yeah!
- 1:09:38Chris: Who was like,
- 1:09:39Chris: she's like,
- 1:09:40Chris: "You've known this guy for a few months,
- 1:09:42Chris: "like fucking get over it."
- 1:09:43Chris: And I paused the movie and I said,
- 1:09:46Chris: "Look,
- 1:09:48Chris: I understand that you may not have gone through this,
- 1:09:50Chris: "but when you are a teenager and you are in love,
- 1:09:53Chris: "you think that is your whole world."
- 1:09:55Chris: And when you have that breakup or that separation
- 1:09:58Chris: or whatever,
- 1:09:59Chris: you feel like your life is over.
- 1:10:01Chris: And she's like, well, I wasn't cool enough
- 1:10:03Chris: to experience that.
- 1:10:04Chris: And I said,
- 1:10:05Chris: well,
- 1:10:05Chris: I don't know whether you missed out
- 1:10:07Chris: or you didn't, I guess that's a matter of perspective.
- 1:10:09Chris: But it was just something she could not relate to.
- 1:10:13Chris: And I could relate the shit out of it.
- 1:10:15Mandy: Like I watched, I think the grieving Bella part
- 1:10:21Mandy: is annoying,
- 1:10:22Mandy: at the same time, I was a teenage girl.
- 1:10:25Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:10:26Mandy: It tracks,
- 1:10:28Mandy: it really does track.
- 1:10:29Mandy: And so,
- 1:10:30Mandy: bless her heart.
- 1:10:32Chris: Right?
- 1:10:32Chris: But I thought that was an interesting perspective.
- 1:10:34Mandy: It is teenage,
- 1:10:35Mandy: it is the way it feels.
- 1:10:37Chris: Yeah, you feel like your life is completely over.
- 1:10:39Chris: And I went through that as a teenager myself,
- 1:10:41Chris: so I get it.
- 1:10:43Chris: I never stayed home for months on end.
- 1:10:46Mandy: I did.
- 1:10:48Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:10:51Mandy: Nice, nice.
- 1:10:51Charles: My favorite part of the movie
- 1:10:54Charles: is the scene where Bella is being taken out of the forest
- 1:10:58Charles: after Edward just abandons her in the forest.
- 1:11:01Charles: After knowing that she has no sense of direction.
- 1:11:05Charles: Right,
- 1:11:05Charles: exactly.
- 1:11:06Mandy: And can't find her way home.
- 1:11:07Charles: No, she has no way to do that,
- 1:11:09Charles: so she just sleeps in the woods.
- 1:11:11Charles: She gets picked up by a shirtless man
- 1:11:14Charles: that she hasn't met before,
- 1:11:16Charles: and this shirtless man hands her off to her father,
- 1:11:21Charles: and Charlie does a triple take.
- 1:11:24Charles: He's like,
- 1:11:24Charles: "The fuck?"
- 1:11:25Charles: (laughing)
- 1:11:26Mandy: But they showed them handing out,
- 1:11:28Mandy: there was a search party,
- 1:11:30Mandy: they showed them handing out flashlights
- 1:11:31Mandy: and maps and things.
- 1:11:32Charles: Shirtless man comes out of the woods with your daughter.
- 1:11:37Charles: No. - Who is passed out.
- 1:11:39Charles: He had the right response.
- 1:11:41Charles: (laughing)
- 1:11:42Charles: With his like, "Huuuh?"
- 1:11:44Chris: Yeah. - That's why
- 1:11:45Mandy: we're all Team Churly.
- 1:11:46Chris: Even if you are the shirtless man with the heart of gold,
- 1:11:51Chris: you still gotta take an extra second
- 1:11:53Chris: to be concerned about the fact that
- 1:11:55Chris: the person you are bringing her to has lots of guns.
- 1:12:00Chris: You know?
- 1:12:01Mandy: Maybe not if you're a werewolf.
- 1:12:04Mandy: Why'd you say that word funny?
- 1:12:05Charles: Werewolf?
- 1:12:06Mandy: Wool-oof?
- 1:12:07Mandy: Wool-oof?
- 1:12:07Mandy: I don't say wool-oof, I say woof.
- 1:12:09Charles: Woof?
- 1:12:09Charles: Werewolf.
- 1:12:10Mandy: Like W-O-O-F?
- 1:12:11Chris: Werewolf.
- 1:12:11Chris: Werewolf.
- 1:12:13Chris: That's okay,
- 1:12:14Chris: nothing wrong with that.
- 1:12:14Chris: We've got a werewolf here.
- 1:12:15Chris: So,
- 1:12:16Chris: okay,
- 1:12:16Chris: so we're up to the point now
- 1:12:18Chris: where we give our ratings.
- 1:12:20Chris: Were they,
- 1:12:21Chris: were we doing five or 10?
- 1:12:22Mandy: Aw,
- 1:12:24Mandy: Lohan!
- 1:12:26Mandy: Look, I'm sorry I wasn't loved in high school.
- 1:12:30Mandy: Is that,
- 1:12:31Mandy: is it that I'm a robot person?
- 1:12:35Chris: Oh my God,
- 1:12:36Chris: this is so sad.
- 1:12:38Chris: Here's what's important,
- 1:12:39Chris: you're loved now.
- 1:12:41Mandy: Aw,
- 1:12:42Mandy: that's sweet, you should annoy him.
- 1:12:44Mandy: Let me tell you about this song.
- 1:12:46Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:12:50Mandy: Okay,
- 1:12:51Mandy: so,
- 1:12:51Mandy: sorry.
- 1:12:52Charles: Who's going first?
- 1:12:54Mandy: You go first.
- 1:12:54Charles: Okay.
- 1:12:55Charles: Are we doing five or 10?
- 1:12:56Charles: I did 10 last time.
- 1:12:58Charles: Okay,
- 1:12:58Charles: so 10.
- 1:13:00Charles: I think this movie is worse than the first movie,
- 1:13:05Charles: but I still enjoyed it.
- 1:13:08Charles: So I'll say,
- 1:13:08Charles: I think,
- 1:13:12Charles: the reviews online are terrible.
- 1:13:13Charles: It's got a 21% rotten tomato.
- 1:13:17Charles: So I feel,
- 1:13:19Charles: if I said,
- 1:13:20Charles: I think it's a four
- 1:13:21Charles: that I enjoyed like a seven.
- 1:13:24Charles: I think I would be valid in that.
- 1:13:26Mandy: I think a seven's fair.
- 1:13:29Charles: Yeah.
- 1:13:29Charles: Yeah.
- 1:13:30Mandy: I think the acting quality did move up in this
- 1:13:32Mandy: because Robert Pattinson wasn't in it.
- 1:13:37Mandy: And I think if we could have just replaced Kristen Stewart,
- 1:13:39Mandy: it would have gone up even more.
- 1:13:40Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:13:42Mandy: But no, I'll give it a seven.
- 1:13:45Mandy: Okay,
- 1:13:45Mandy: yeah.
- 1:13:46Mandy: 'Cause I also have to compare it,
- 1:13:48Mandy: like I have the knowledge to compare it to the next one.
- 1:13:50Mandy: Right.
- 1:13:51Mandy: So,
- 1:13:52Mandy: seven.
- 1:13:52Chris: Yeah.
- 1:13:54Chris: I am gonna give it,
- 1:13:58Chris: I'm gonna say a solid 6.5.
- 1:14:00Chris: My number would be higher if it were like 30 minutes shorter.
- 1:14:04Chris: Yeah. - Mm-hmm.
- 1:14:06Chris: But it was entertaining.
- 1:14:08Chris: I did, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would,
- 1:14:12Chris: especially when you're watching a series
- 1:14:14Chris: that has that like, you know, multiple entries like that.
- 1:14:17Chris: You expect two and three,
- 1:14:19Chris: you know,
- 1:14:19Chris: your middle ones to be a bit of a slog,
- 1:14:22Chris: and it was too long, but it didn't feel like a slog for me.
- 1:14:26Mandy: I can't wait for you to watch the rest.
- 1:14:28Chris: Yeah.
- 1:14:29Chris: The next one is a murder mystery.
- 1:14:31Chris: What?
- 1:14:32Chris: Oh my God.
- 1:14:33Chris: Oh,
- 1:14:33Chris: also,
- 1:14:34Chris: I will say,
- 1:14:35Chris: one thing I hated about this movie,
- 1:14:37Chris: they bring in fucking Graham Greene,
- 1:14:40Chris: which was a great choice,
- 1:14:41Chris: and then he dies offscreen.
- 1:14:45Chris: Rude.
- 1:14:45Mandy: Who's Greene?
- 1:14:46Mandy: Oh,
- 1:14:46Mandy: oh,
- 1:14:47Chris: oh, oh, yeah.
- 1:14:48Chris: Yeah.
- 1:14:50Chris: That's really rude.
- 1:14:51Chris: That is unforgivable.
- 1:14:53Chris: I can forgive all of Kristen Stewart's non-acting,
- 1:14:56Chris: but not that.
- 1:14:57Charles: She had her mouth closed more this time.
- 1:14:59Mandy: She did keep her mouth closed more.
- 1:15:01Mandy: I did bring pop culture to share before we move on.
- 1:15:05Mandy: Oh, yay, yeah.
- 1:15:06Mandy: I feel it wrapping up.
- 1:15:07Chris: Oh, we're not moving on, this is it.
- 1:15:09Chris: So hit us, hit us with your culture.
- 1:15:12Chris: Let me pull it up.
- 1:15:12Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:15:13Mandy: 'cause I don't know where I left it.
- 1:15:15Mandy: You will, 'cause you have links to share.
- 1:15:18Mandy: So another Christmas card,
- 1:15:20Mandy: 'cause once again,
- 1:15:20Mandy: I want to give these out to everyone
- 1:15:22Mandy: for Christmas, what do you?
- 1:15:27Charles: It is AI bullshit,
- 1:15:28Charles: however,
- 1:15:29Charles: it's pretty great.
- 1:15:30Mandy: There's,
- 1:15:31Mandy: I can't wait for next time.
- 1:15:32Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:15:34Chris: So the card has Bella with a yelling
- 1:15:40Chris: Jacob.
- 1:15:40Chris: Yelling Jacob at her saying,
- 1:15:41Chris: "Where the hell have you been,
- 1:15:43Chris: Santa?"
- 1:15:43Chris: with Edward like backwards holding a mistletoe?
- 1:15:47Mandy: Is that what's happening?
- 1:15:48Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:15:49Mandy: The next part is, did you hear about Volossi?
- 1:15:53Charles: No, Voltossi?
- 1:15:55Mandy: Voltossi,
- 1:15:55Mandy: sorry,
- 1:15:56Mandy: yeah.
- 1:15:58Charles: Oh my God.
- 1:16:00Charles: I need this mug so bad.
- 1:16:03Chris: So this is a mug with Michael Sheen on it
- 1:16:06Mandy: saying, "Hey, wanna see my Voltossi?"
- 1:16:13Charles: (laughing)
- 1:16:13Charles: shipping and handling and sale ends in an hour and 45 minutes and I think I just got paid
- 1:16:22Mandy: And 15 ounce if you need a larger bull and it's printed on both sides
- 1:16:27Chris: You don't have to worry about which hand you're holding it with that's great.
- 1:16:30Charles: That is great printed. Yeah incredible
- 1:16:33Charles: That is the worst photo of that man. I've ever seen
- 1:16:37Mandy: So like I love how in the interviews and nobody like all this friends will not let him ever forget that he did this
- 1:16:42Mandy: He looks like powder like if you want it like David Tennant in him when they have that
- 1:16:47Mandy: He just brought it up all the time
- 1:16:49Charles: Incredible about this. Oh,
- 1:16:51Charles: yeah. Oh my god
- 1:16:54Charles: So this is this is Edward with a camera
- 1:16:57Chris: Doing a kind of like stripper ass pose saying this is the ass of a killer Bella
- 1:17:03Chris: Incredible.
- 1:17:04Chris: That's kind of great
- 1:17:05Chris: oh
- 1:17:06Chris: There's multiple colors of all you can get a purple. Definitely the pinky. I would get the pinky purple
- 1:17:10Chris: Yeah, that's the one you have to get.
- 1:17:12Chris: Yeah,
- 1:17:13Chris: that's good stuff.
- 1:17:13Mandy: Okay, my next one it said just says terrifying
- 1:17:15Mandy: and I don't remember what past Mandy wrote.
- 1:17:19Chris: Terrifying,
- 1:17:20Chris: it's a YouTube video.
- 1:17:23Chris: Where is it?
- 1:17:24Chris: Is it,
- 1:17:24Chris: oh.
- 1:17:26Mandy: Oh, that is terrifying.
- 1:17:27Charles: Oh my God, it's like a fucking balaclava mask.
- 1:17:30Mandy: We were talking about what we need to do for Halloween.
- 1:17:35Chris: Yikes, yikes,
- 1:17:36Chris: that's
- 1:17:36Mandy: We can reenact it.
- 1:17:37Chris: That's awful.
- 1:17:38Mandy: Let's move to reenacting the next one.
- 1:17:47Mandy: >> Dear Alice,
- 1:17:49Mandy: you've disappeared like everything else.
- 1:17:53Chris: >> [LAUGH]
- 1:17:53Mandy: >> But who can I talk to,
- 1:17:54Mandy: Alice?
- 1:17:54Mandy: I'm lost, I'm lost, Alice.
- 1:17:57Mandy: I made my whole existence about this pale-skinned man and
- 1:18:00Mandy: just left me,
- 1:18:01Mandy: but I'm cool, I'm fine.
- 1:18:03Mandy: Maybe if I sit in this chair long enough,
- 1:18:06Mandy: no sleep,
- 1:18:07Mandy: no food,
- 1:18:07Mandy: no shower maybe he'll even smell me and my scent will bring him back to me
- 1:18:14Mandy: because i need him alice bring him back to me i've sat through the sleet the snow the rain
- 1:18:18Mandy: you already know how i feel about the rain and all of this spinning is making me dizzy all right
- 1:18:24Mandy: you have nightmares every night and i'm not sure if that's because of all the spicy food i eat
- 1:18:28Mandy: before bed but i'm just going through it alice please i need you i want to play baseball again
- 1:18:33Mandy: and why'd you do that cool thing with your leg
- 1:18:35Mandy: when you pitch?
- 1:18:36Mandy: I wanna get a paper cut and fear for my life
- 1:18:38Mandy: in front of your family, Alice,
- 1:18:40Mandy: please.
- 1:18:41Mandy: Come back.
- 1:18:42Mandy: I love the passing of the cell phone back and around.
- 1:18:45Chris: I will say, I think the most pathetic part
- 1:18:48Chris: of that whole, I'm so depressed, I wanna die sequence
- 1:18:52Chris: was the fact that she kept writing emails to Alice
- 1:18:55Chris: that she knew were getting returned.
- 1:18:57Chris: She kept being the mailer demon.
- 1:18:59Mandy: I'm like,
- 1:18:59Mandy: okay, so I said,
- 1:19:01Mandy: oh, it feels very high school girl.
- 1:19:02Mandy: That feels very junior high girl.
- 1:19:04Mandy: Absolutely.
- 1:19:07Mandy: Okay,
- 1:19:08Mandy: and so this is stuff I should have shown
- 1:19:09Mandy: last week and I didn't,
- 1:19:11Mandy: but we need to watch them.
- 1:19:16Video: Ready?
- 1:19:17Video: Mm-hmm.
- 1:19:20Video: You can't leave,
- 1:19:21Video: like what do you mean?
- 1:19:23Video: You can't say that we can't be apart.
- 1:19:28Video: Like you can't say that to me.
- 1:19:32Mandy: Look,
- 1:19:32Mandy: this is what I say when I say I love the culture
- 1:19:34Mandy: and what it's done for our culture.
- 1:19:36Mandy: She broke her, like shattered her ankle,
- 1:19:38Mandy: is in the hospital and she's like,
- 1:19:39Mandy: cool, let's reenact like twice.
- 1:19:41Mandy: Incredible.
- 1:19:42Mandy: That's a hell of a choice.
- 1:19:44Mandy: But the blue filter,
- 1:19:45Mandy: like that's what I love.
- 1:19:46Mandy: That's what I'm saying, like pop culture,
- 1:19:48Mandy: like I love what it's done.
- 1:19:50Charles: Are you familiar with Eggward?
- 1:19:51Charles: Oh, of course.
- 1:19:52Charles: Oh, we have to bring Eggward next week.
- 1:19:54Mandy: Okay, the next one's kind of got the last two.
- 1:20:01Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:20:07Mandy: The next one is the same thing, but it's so good,
- 1:20:10Mandy: I had to bring two.
- 1:20:12Mandy: Edward, stop.
- 1:20:13Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:20:17Mandy: Edward, stop.
- 1:20:19Mandy: Poor cat.
- 1:20:20Mandy: Stop.
- 1:20:23Mandy: Okay, here's the problem,
- 1:20:25Mandy: because I keep bringing the pop culture,
- 1:20:29Mandy: I said I try to bring other clips for Around the Net,
- 1:20:33Mandy: but unfortunately all my FYP now is ferrets and Twilight.
- 1:20:38Mandy: So like every other video is a ferret or it's Twilight
- 1:20:41Mandy: and I don't know what I'm gonna do to reset this.
- 1:20:44Chris: And you just need more that combine the two.
- 1:20:46Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:20:47Mandy: I think there may be one last one.
- 1:20:49Mandy: Yes.
- 1:20:50Mandy: This is so Twilight.
- 1:20:51Mandy: Bella, where you been loca?
- 1:20:53Mandy: Edward,
- 1:20:53Mandy: where are you?
- 1:20:57Charles: This is such a classic.
- 1:20:59Charles: It's such a good one.
- 1:21:00Mandy: It's what it did for pop culture that I love.
- 1:21:02Mandy: It's a ho-ho-ho season.
- 1:21:04Mandy: That's what I love about it.
- 1:21:05Chris: You know what's crazy is like,
- 1:21:06Chris: even though a lot of these are like viral clips
- 1:21:09Chris: that came out years ago,
- 1:21:10Chris: I never saw them.
- 1:21:12Chris: So not only am I experiencing the story for the first time,
- 1:21:15Chris: all of this stuff is brand new to me and I love it.
- 1:21:18Mandy: Hooray!
- 1:21:19Charles: I'm so glad that you get to enjoy this with us.
- 1:21:21Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:21:22Mandy: 'cause I mean, once again,
- 1:21:22Mandy: how could you make it this far without that?
- 1:21:24Chris: Right.
- 1:21:25Chris: know how I lived without this.
- 1:21:28Charles: Yeah. Any final thoughts?
- 1:21:30Mandy: Be excited for next week?
- 1:21:34Charles: What?
- 1:21:34Charles: Yeah.
- 1:21:34Charles: Let's read like a little bit about what? Are we going to spoil it?
- 1:21:38Charles: We're just going
- 1:21:39Charles: to read a little bit,
- 1:21:42Charles: a little teaser.
- 1:21:44Charles: Let's see. Hold on real quick.
- 1:21:46Charles: Let's get,
- 1:21:48Charles: there we go.
- 1:21:54Charles: That's
- 1:21:55Charles: so it came out the next year.
- 1:21:57Charles: These movies came out like bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam.
- 1:21:59Charles: Yeah, they churned these out quick.
- 1:22:02Charles: Romantic fantasy film directed by David Slade
- 1:22:05Charles: from a screenplay by Blasey Rosenberg
- 1:22:06Charles: who wrote this last one,
- 1:22:09Charles: based on the 2007 novel Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer.
- 1:22:11Charles: It's a sequel to New Moon and the third installment,
- 1:22:15Charles: Bryce Dallas Howard joins the cast.
- 1:22:19Chris: Yeah, I did,
- 1:22:20Chris: Lynn,
- 1:22:21Chris: this is something Lynn told me
- 1:22:22Chris: after the movie was over that Bryce Dallas Howard
- 1:22:26Chris: And she replaced Rachel Lefebvre.
- 1:22:29Chris: Yeah, from "Shall We Write," by Rochelle Lefebvre.
- 1:22:31Chris: And that's kind of a bummer,
- 1:22:32Chris: because I really liked her character,
- 1:22:34Chris: and I hate Bryce Dallas Howard.
- 1:22:38Chris: (laughing)
- 1:22:38Chris: Apparently,
- 1:22:39Chris: she asked for more money.
- 1:22:41Mandy: She asked for a raise,
- 1:22:42Mandy: and they weren't really willing to give it to her.
- 1:22:44Mandy: And she's like, "What are you gonna do,
- 1:22:45Mandy: replace me?"
- 1:22:45Mandy: And they said,
- 1:22:46Mandy: "Yes."
- 1:22:47Chris: Which is interesting,
- 1:22:48Chris: because in the Wikipedia article,
- 1:22:52Chris: I don't know if it's the one on Eclipse
- 1:22:54Chris: or the one on New Moon, but it actually says
- 1:22:56Chris: that there was a scheduling overlap for another movie
- 1:22:59Chris: where there was 10 days where the schedules overlapped
- 1:23:03Chris: and she was pissed off that they weren't willing
- 1:23:07Chris: to wait 10 days,
- 1:23:09Chris: so they just replaced her.
- 1:23:10Chris: I don't know whether either story is true,
- 1:23:12Chris: but at least that's what I read.
- 1:23:15Chris: Either way, that's a bummer.
- 1:23:16Mandy: But there's so much lore about it,
- 1:23:18Mandy: you really don't know what's true or not.
- 1:23:20Mandy: One of my favorite pieces of lore that I'm deciding
- 1:23:23Mandy: is going to be true is that in this episode in this season,
- 1:23:28Mandy: this-- nope,
- 1:23:29Mandy: this show, this movie
- 1:23:32Chris: You got there.
- 1:23:33Mandy: --Edward,
- 1:23:34Mandy: that Robert Pattinson saw Jacob and all the work
- 1:23:38Mandy: he had done over the year and said,
- 1:23:41Mandy: I'm not even trying.
- 1:23:42Mandy: And so he just sat and ate ice cream in Italy
- 1:23:45Mandy: for the entire time,
- 1:23:46Mandy: which is why they spray
- 1:23:48Mandy: painted his abs on so hard.
- 1:23:50Charles: Incredible.
- 1:23:50Mandy: He's like, I just put on weight.
- 1:23:51Mandy: He's like, there's no point in even trying.
- 1:23:53Mandy: I couldn't match that.
- 1:23:54Charles: Well,
- 1:23:54Charles: because he got so ripped.
- 1:23:56Charles: I wasn't lying when I said that they were going
- 1:23:59Charles: to recast him because he was so skinny.
- 1:24:01Charles: Which,
- 1:24:01Mandy: let's talk about the damage that does
- 1:24:03Mandy: as some young kid growing up like that.
- 1:24:04Charles: Yeah,
- 1:24:04Charles: 'cause he was like 16
- 1:24:06Charles: when he was the first movie, right?
- 1:24:07Mandy: Yeah, and so they say, hey, you're not,
- 1:24:10Mandy: your body,
- 1:24:11Mandy: who you are, who you're growing into
- 1:24:12Mandy: is not good enough for us.
- 1:24:14Mandy: And then it's like, you're going to lose this job
- 1:24:16Mandy: because you're not good enough.
- 1:24:19Mandy: And then what he had to do to transform himself.
- 1:24:22Charles: Yeah,
- 1:24:22Charles: which is like a
- 1:24:24Charles: insane transformation.
- 1:24:25Charles: Yeah,
- 1:24:26Mandy: yeah,
- 1:24:26Mandy: because well,
- 1:24:27Charles: yeah,
- 1:24:28Charles: did you know did you know Chris that he all he married a woman named Taylor?
- 1:24:33Charles: I did learn so they're the Taylor Lautner's.
- 1:24:36Mandy: Yeah, that's I
- 1:24:39Chris: That's a choice.
- 1:24:40Mandy: I love it. I love it. I want that for me. Yes.
- 1:24:43Mandy: Gosh, turn it change your name to Mandy
- 1:24:50Mandy: The straightest man on earth
- 1:24:52Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:24:53Mandy: Not doing that.
- 1:24:54Chris: Hey, you can't spell Mandy without man.
- 1:24:56Chris: This next movie was the first one filmed in IMAX.
- 1:25:00Mandy: No, really?
- 1:25:00Charles: Yeah.
- 1:25:03Chris: And it only added $18 million to the budget.
- 1:25:06Charles: You know what?
- 1:25:07Charles: These are very cheap movies
- 1:25:10Charles: for how much they're grossing.
- 1:25:12Charles: Without a doubt,
- 1:25:12Charles: yeah.
- 1:25:13Charles: Which is very,
- 1:25:15Charles: very excited,
- 1:25:17Charles: exciting.
- 1:25:18Charles: Folks,
- 1:25:20Charles: I'm really excited for next week.
- 1:25:21Charles: Make sure to swing back by.
- 1:25:23Charles: We'll be here.
- 1:25:24Charles: Chris said that this was going to be a short show.
- 1:25:26Charles: It was an hour and a half.
- 1:25:28Mandy: Look, there's a lot to talk about
- 1:25:30Mandy: when it comes to Twilight.
- 1:25:31Charles: Come on.
- 1:25:32Mandy: OK, are we getting matching Twilight tattoos after this?
- 1:25:34Charles: Yeah.
- 1:25:37Charles: What are we getting?
- 1:25:38Mandy: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:25:38Mandy: A moon?
- 1:25:39Mandy: Oh, wait, I've got one.
- 1:25:40Charles: Oh.
- 1:25:41Charles: You're already there.
- 1:25:42Charles: Are we getting, like, all the different phases of the moon?
- 1:25:44Charles: Yes.
- 1:25:45Chris: We need to get that thing we saw in the mug of Edward
- 1:25:49Chris: Edward in the thong.
- 1:25:52Chris: That's what we need.
- 1:25:53Mandy: Yeah,
- 1:25:54Mandy: on our butts.
- 1:25:55Charles: Yeah.
- 1:25:57Charles: Incredible.
- 1:25:57Charles: See you next week.
- 1:25:58Charles: See you next week,
- 1:25:59Charles: bye.
- 1:26:00Charles: (kissing)
- 1:26:01Charles: All the kisses.
- 1:26:03Charles: So many kisses.
- 1:26:04Charles: (kissing)
- 1:26:09Video: This is Loudspeaker.
