- 3:17Speaker 1: engaging with the fans in hearing what PT six has
- 3:21Speaker 1: going on out there. But a lot to take in
- 3:24Speaker 1: on today.
- 3:24Speaker 2: So really good week for quote unquote fatherhood for quote
- 3:30Speaker 2: unquote indeed PT siicoing if you're a father.
- 3:34Speaker 1: There's nothing like preparing for a storm. Yeah, there was
- 3:37Speaker 1: an ice storm, a snowstorm at first headed for Nashville
- 3:40Speaker 1: last week. We were supposed to get upward. It's maybe
- 3:42Speaker 1: two feet of snow. The European models and GFS models,
- 3:47Speaker 1: whatever they are. The grass shifted throughout the week to
- 3:49Speaker 1: where it now. It seemed like we're gonna get more
- 3:51Speaker 1: ice than snow. We were hoping to get the warm nose.
- 3:54Speaker 1: We're gonna get a south a.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Southward push to where we get more snow.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Souse.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I know my old man right now in Missouri. They
- 4:01Speaker 1: got more snow than they did ice. He's sending me
- 4:04Speaker 1: photos about how they could the snow couldn't keep him
- 4:06Speaker 1: out of the gym. My old man was all about
- 4:09Speaker 1: worrying and preparing for storms. If there's potential black ice
- 4:13Speaker 1: being out there, you bet your candy ass you're going
- 4:15Speaker 1: to be getting text Hey, don't take this lightly, take
- 4:18Speaker 1: this seriously. There's black ice on the highways. It might
- 4:21Speaker 1: look like it's a bad situation. But ice two things
- 4:24Speaker 1: we don't mess with. Celery and ice. Yeah, you don't
- 4:27Speaker 1: fuck around with ice out there. And we got a
- 4:29Speaker 1: it was a bad one. I want to say NES
- 4:31Speaker 1: so the Nashville Electrical Service Company as over fifty percent
- 4:37Speaker 1: of NES was down from.
- 4:39Speaker 3: This ice storm. It's crazy.
- 4:41Speaker 1: There was like I want to say, the highest I
- 4:43Speaker 1: saw might have been two hundred and thirty thousand power
- 4:45Speaker 1: outages in Nashville. They have about a little over four
- 4:48Speaker 1: hundred thousand customers.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But a lot under as under a NES that's just
- 4:52Speaker 2: ANYS numbers. So yeah, the numbers were maybe even in
- 4:57Speaker 2: the three hundred thousand as far as estimates of like
- 5:00Speaker 2: the greater Nashville area.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, which is crazy.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, got a lot of got a lot of ice, dude,
- 5:06Speaker 1: there was that. We got snow maybe a couple of
- 5:08Speaker 1: inches on Saturday. On Sunday, the temps are dropping and
- 5:12Speaker 1: then we started to get some sleep, and then weirdly,
- 5:14Speaker 1: Sunday morning, it started to rain a little bit to
- 5:16Speaker 1: where everything was slushed, but you knew single digit temperatures
- 5:18Speaker 1: were coming, more sleep was coming, and it just iced.
- 5:21Speaker 3: The entire city. It was wild. It was weird.
- 5:24Speaker 1: If you are listening and you happen to be without power,
- 5:29Speaker 1: like dude back in two thousand and seven. I know,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I talked about it last week with a couple guys.
- 5:34Speaker 1: We lost our power from an ice storm and we
- 5:37Speaker 1: were without power for like a week. Yeah, and it
- 5:39Speaker 1: is brutal, dude. So if you're without power. I know
- 5:41Speaker 1: Derek he's been without power for a few days. Some
- 5:45Speaker 1: spots in Nashville. I think is gonna be without power
- 5:47Speaker 1: all week. I'm talking when you when you drive around.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Fun story if you follow me on social media. I
- 5:51Speaker 1: went into a Target. It looked like I broke into
- 5:54Speaker 1: Target by how it was like Ami pocalypse on Sunday
- 5:59Speaker 1: and uh, just drive trying to get to Target. There's
- 6:02Speaker 1: massive trees uprooted, falling over on the roads, blocking the roads,
- 6:06Speaker 1: power lines down. There's a power line down in my
- 6:08Speaker 1: backyard that I believe was probably the fiber at and
- 6:11Speaker 1: t I've been without internet, which thankfully that's been the
- 6:14Speaker 1: only thing I've been out of because our power's out,
- 6:17Speaker 1: but our generator is operating. I had to get that
- 6:19Speaker 1: Ginny going on Sunday morning. But uh yeah, dude, if
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're without power, stay warm, man, stay layered up. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: hope the power kicks back on soon. I feel like
- 6:27Speaker 1: Nashville's done an incredible job clearing out a lot of
- 6:31Speaker 1: the h a lot of the carnage that is out there.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And they've done a great job handling the roads with
- 6:35Speaker 1: the ice and everything else, especially compared to like years past.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Whenever it feels like Nashville gets to it feels like
- 6:41Speaker 1: everybody kind of just shuts down. Yeah, stay warm, man,
- 6:44Speaker 1: I hope our heart goes our heart goes out to you.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And also, like you said, big opportunities for fathers out there.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I know everybody loved being a little too curious me
- 6:53Speaker 1: getting out on the roads and be like this is
- 6:55Speaker 1: a bad move driving out on these roads right now
- 6:58Speaker 1: with everything down power lines kind of but you know,
- 7:01Speaker 1: how dads are you know, you know, we get a
- 7:03Speaker 1: little curious, get a little curious, a little PT six curiosity. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: let's go I told Jill before I was taking her
- 7:10Speaker 1: over to our friend's house. Humongous shout out to Brian
- 7:15Speaker 1: and Hillary Cox, our couple friends that took Scarlet and
- 7:19Speaker 1: Jill in.
- 7:19Speaker 3: They had power.
- 7:21Speaker 2: But I told Jill, I said, hey, let me do
- 7:23Speaker 2: a little recon around the neighborhood before we leave. You know,
- 7:27Speaker 2: you're packing for Scarlet and you got Scarlet taken care of.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go do a little recon.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I'm kind of glad I did because to your point,
- 7:37Speaker 2: the war zone stuff. I'll get Jill to send you
- 7:39Speaker 2: a bunch of video chef. Our neighborhood was destroyed. It truly,
- 7:46Speaker 2: it was reminiscent of like tornado damage.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like people are comparing it's like tornado damage,
- 7:51Speaker 3: but just with ice.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I've only seen tornado damage once in Texas and then
- 7:56Speaker 2: once in Missouri, and it looked it looked like a
- 7:59Speaker 2: tornado came through.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah, like it was wide.
- 8:01Speaker 1: We're sitting in our house at times where we're just
- 8:04Speaker 1: like tree watching because you hear something go down and
- 8:06Speaker 1: it's obviously quite in the house. Yeah, you hear a
- 8:10Speaker 1: tree go down and we just like run to the
- 8:12Speaker 1: window and see which limb or which tree went down.
- 8:15Speaker 1: We had a neighbor a couple holes down, big tree
- 8:19Speaker 1: falls on top of.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Cars and on their house.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Fortunately it was like the lighter version, like with the
- 8:23Speaker 1: branches and stuff that was sitting on their roof and
- 8:25Speaker 1: it wasn't like the thick base of the tree. Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 1: but then when you go out my driveway, you make
- 8:31Speaker 1: it right literally maybe one hundred yards up the road,
- 8:35Speaker 1: just a fat tree, bro in the like laying over
- 8:38Speaker 1: top of the road like there would be trees. There
- 8:40Speaker 1: were trees down everywhere. Yeah, there's a lot of where
- 8:44Speaker 1: like debris in my yard from it. There's a power
- 8:46Speaker 1: there's a line down that I believe is the AT
- 8:49Speaker 1: and T fiber line, just a live we assume it's
- 8:53Speaker 1: a live wire down in the backyard.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I feel like we're both sitting here. We're not intending
- 8:58Speaker 2: to but it's like, no, my neighborhood was worse, Bro, You.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Should have seen my But it's all it's all been bad.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Driving around, it's been terrible and not like not to
- 9:08Speaker 2: make too much light of the situation, but I have
- 9:11Speaker 2: never felt more like my father than.
- 9:15Speaker 3: This weekend dude of four.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Door sedan blew past me when it was icy, Dude,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I'm talking icy on Nolansville Pike going sixty little four
- 9:27Speaker 2: door sedan. I'm like, there's no way in hell one
- 9:31Speaker 2: that you have four wheel drive, and two I feel
- 9:34Speaker 2: like I'm gonna see you again here in ten minutes,
- 9:36Speaker 2: You're gonna be in a ditch side of the red
- 9:38Speaker 2: like and I'm talking out loud. Yeah, I'm like, what
- 9:42Speaker 2: a dumb ass, blah blah blah. And Jill's sitting next
- 9:44Speaker 2: to me like, honey, you know dead because that was
- 9:47Speaker 2: probably my what like eighth what a dumb ass.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I just kept on referring back to you because.
- 9:52Speaker 1: You don't want to mess around driving on ice bro No,
- 9:55Speaker 1: you just don't like I get the snow. And when
- 9:58Speaker 1: it was slushing, I was in the Target parking lot.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I hit a couple of donuts. Assume me, I hit
- 10:03Speaker 1: a couple of don't. I had a little bit of
- 10:04Speaker 1: fun bet six, Yeah, Willie had a little bit of
- 10:07Speaker 1: fun with the Chevy.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I'm like ripping around. I'm like, I mean the parking
- 10:12Speaker 3: lights eyed open right now. We were on the way.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It was on the west side where it was it was,
- 10:19Speaker 1: you know, Dick's Target best Buy and it was just
- 10:22Speaker 1: a ghost town. Yeah, because I'd gotten out on Sunday
- 10:26Speaker 1: because Charle was like, hey, we only have about eight rulls,
- 10:30Speaker 1: eight rules, the toilet paper left, and I'm already thinking
- 10:33Speaker 1: of my brain that I'm running light on my favorite drinks.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I want to have my favorite drinks in the house
- 10:37Speaker 1: that we're going to be locked in. Oh, come on,
- 10:42Speaker 1: chrisp Apple and watermelon lion calls. Out of those, I
- 10:44Speaker 1: had a few Grape Classic Grapes s Luft, which that
- 10:46Speaker 1: was great, yep, And but I need my favorite drinks. Yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: got to you. It needed to get a little bit
- 10:53Speaker 1: more whole milk because again, you just don't know when
- 10:54Speaker 1: this is when the slush is happening, and you know
- 10:57Speaker 1: the ice, like all the warnings that are out there,
- 11:00Speaker 1: like you just have no clue how much you're going
- 11:03Speaker 1: to be just locked in the house. So you're seeing
- 11:05Speaker 1: things out there to where you could be locked in
- 11:07Speaker 1: all week, could be a day, could be a couple days.
- 11:09Speaker 1: And this is on Sunday, we're recording right now. It's
- 11:11Speaker 1: Tuesday morning, kind of our first day fully operational. But
- 11:16Speaker 1: again you don't know, So I'm like, all right, well,
- 11:18Speaker 1: it's slushy right now, and it's a little it's a
- 11:20Speaker 1: little rain. Like if there's gonna be a time to
- 11:21Speaker 1: get out, it's gonna be right now. And as I'm
- 11:24Speaker 1: navigating around our neighborhood because we're like on the west
- 11:26Speaker 1: side where.
- 11:27Speaker 3: There's just a shitload of trees.
- 11:28Speaker 1: It's beautiful out there, but for this particular time, it's
- 11:31Speaker 1: like trees are going down, power lines are on the ground.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I'm seeing dads out there. They're setting up cones around
- 11:37Speaker 1: power lines. You see dads on the side, they already
- 11:40Speaker 1: got their chainsaws out trying to like cut branches. I'm
- 11:43Speaker 1: talking like we're talking about the little bit of stuff
- 11:45Speaker 1: going on in my yard. Massive trees just like down,
- 11:48Speaker 1: like blocking driveways to where you just know people in
- 11:52Speaker 1: these houses like they're going to be barricaded in these
- 11:54Speaker 1: houses for a little bit of time until they get
- 11:56Speaker 1: help out to them to cut trees up, move debris,
- 11:59Speaker 1: and just act access their road because it's like you
- 12:01Speaker 1: have the main road and then some driveways are going
- 12:03Speaker 1: uphill to try and get to the main road. And
- 12:06Speaker 1: so I'm driving around, navigating all this stuff, trying to
- 12:08Speaker 1: find my way to target. I had to take so
- 12:10Speaker 1: many different what's it called. I had to take so
- 12:14Speaker 1: many different detours to get there, But once I finally
- 12:18Speaker 1: got there, it's like ghost town. Like nobody's out on
- 12:21Speaker 1: the road and which they shouldn't have been. Like, I'm again,
- 12:23Speaker 1: this is curious, dad, that a tornado is about to hit.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You want to go stand on the front porch and
- 12:27Speaker 1: see how close this tornado? Actually, this is not a
- 12:30Speaker 1: dad hack. Yeah, this is not Yeah, you're not.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Experts, clearly.
- 12:37Speaker 1: But I get to the west side of where Target
- 12:40Speaker 1: is and nobody's in the parking lot. I see just
- 12:42Speaker 1: all my phone because we still have internet at this time,
- 12:44Speaker 1: and again I'm out about.
- 12:45Speaker 3: So their service. And I see that Target was open.
- 12:50Speaker 3: So I pull in.
- 12:50Speaker 1: There's a couple of cars in there, like run down,
- 12:53Speaker 1: like rundown cars, snow piled on top something. Is this
- 12:57Speaker 1: place open? I see a gentleman walking out. I just
- 12:59Speaker 1: kind of rolled down the dough. I'm like, hey, beat
- 13:02Speaker 1: six sickoh. He kind of looks over at me and
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, is Target open? And he's like, uh, yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 1: they're open. I'm like all right, So he's gonna pull in,
- 13:11Speaker 1: park the truck, walk in the automatic doors aren't aren't
- 13:14Speaker 1: functioning or opening up. It's dark inside of Target, and
- 13:17Speaker 1: I just see a little note that says use the
- 13:19Speaker 1: side door.
- 13:20Speaker 3: So I go around. I use a side door, open
- 13:22Speaker 3: it up.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Two gentlemen sitting there just at the front by the
- 13:26Speaker 1: self checkout. I'm like, hey, are you guys open. He's like, yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: we're open because it's like there's a few lights on. Yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 1: it's dark in there. No people are in there, and
- 13:36Speaker 1: so I'm like, all right, kind of grab a cart.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm gonna go get some toilet paper and
- 13:40Speaker 1: stock up on a couple of hind wheels squeaking and
- 13:44Speaker 1: echoing in this obinion are Yeah, it felt like I
- 13:47Speaker 1: broke in Target. I'm pushing around all the aisles. Obviously
- 13:51Speaker 1: I made a few videos. I had fun with it. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and uh, get the toilet paper. They were stocks. So
- 13:57Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, I'm gonna get the word out.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna signal to everybody, hey, if you need to
- 14:00Speaker 1: get supplies, this Target is stoped because I know throughout
- 14:02Speaker 1: the week a lot of people were just ravaging through
- 14:04Speaker 1: grocery stores to where there wasn't a lot of supplies
- 14:08Speaker 1: because everybody was prepping for their storm pick through, and
- 14:12Speaker 1: so I get the toilet paper and then I get
- 14:13Speaker 1: to the produce area where some of the refrigerated stuff
- 14:17Speaker 1: is and it's just nothing but blue tarps covering everything,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and so I'm thinking of my head. I'm like, am
- 14:21Speaker 1: I allowed to kind of go under the tarps. Let's
- 14:24Speaker 1: back and just do some regular shop. And they said
- 14:26Speaker 1: they're open, So I'm like, all right. I went through
- 14:28Speaker 1: the drink aisle. Ollipops are there, but it was more
- 14:31Speaker 1: the soda flavors. It wasn't the crispapple watermelon line, which
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm looking for, ye ya. So I'm like, I know
- 14:36Speaker 1: Target has the refrigeratet aisle, like there'd be cans of
- 14:38Speaker 1: lollipop and I'm hopeful. I'm optimistic, Yes, So I go in.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I start ravaging through like I'm going under the blue tarp,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and then I finally find the section where they have
- 14:47Speaker 1: the can drinks and I'm like, boom, jackpot, Crisp Apple
- 14:52Speaker 1: lined up, watermelon lin lined up. I'm like, I'll just
- 14:55Speaker 1: say to myself, let me go get the cart. Go
- 14:57Speaker 1: get the cart, pull it up, and I just start
- 15:00Speaker 1: throwing it all in there.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, get some whole milk they had.
- 15:02Speaker 1: They had like two things a whole milk left, snagged those,
- 15:06Speaker 1: got back in the truck and found my way back
- 15:09Speaker 1: to the house because I tried again. We're we're the
- 15:12Speaker 1: roads I'm usually taking is where I'm trying to get
- 15:14Speaker 1: back to the house. But again I pull up and
- 15:16Speaker 1: then there's like ambulances and lights going off as a
- 15:19Speaker 1: massive tree blocking another road, another power line down, so
- 15:23Speaker 1: I back up. I'm trying to get out different ways.
- 15:24Speaker 1: There's cars trying to drive and maneuver around it all again,
- 15:27Speaker 1: trees down to where I off road around the tree
- 15:30Speaker 1: to get back to my house. But get back to
- 15:33Speaker 1: the house, bro. But that was that was one trip
- 15:35Speaker 1: that I had.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I'll tell you this right now.
- 15:39Speaker 2: This film that I'm about to describe to you would
- 15:42Speaker 2: win at Sundance, and it is a documentary that follows
- 15:47Speaker 2: will comped in in a situation like this or any situation,
- 15:52Speaker 2: and we hook up some kind of technology to where
- 15:56Speaker 2: your inner thoughts are also doing voiceover for the documentary.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I would watch the ship out of that movie you
- 16:04Speaker 2: pitched titles, pitched titles.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Here's the Woking Dead. It feels like it's sitting there
- 16:11Speaker 4: primed for it.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Just opening the blae Tarzan sh I know these allipops? Okay,
- 16:21Speaker 1: Hey hey, hey.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Where y'all keep the hollibap am?
- 16:25Speaker 5: I allowed to buy these, buddy. It's just you in here, buddy.
- 16:32Speaker 5: You help yourself. Man, We're not even gonna check you out.
- 16:36Speaker 5: You could just leave me. You could just leave with it.
- 16:41Speaker 3: You guys got any bite marks on you. I'm just
- 16:44Speaker 3: messing with you.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I am legend zombie zombie movies, just making a joke.
- 16:49Speaker 1: He turns around. You just hear the inner thought vido.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And they haven't seen that budget. They would, they would
- 16:56Speaker 1: have laughed.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Dude.
- 16:59Speaker 2: That's it. That's insane. I will say another non dad
- 17:03Speaker 2: hack to throw out there like they don't do that.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I talk to you on the phone.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Don't Doda hack, Yeah, don't do that.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Don't do dad. Ac is my neighbor. As I'm driving
- 17:15Speaker 2: out the entire we watch Harry Potter. Uh to start
- 17:19Speaker 2: this whole like snowstorm. We did a Harry Potter marathon
- 17:23Speaker 2: so innocently going into this snowstorm, and so in my
- 17:28Speaker 2: head is burned of Hermione Granger when Harry doesn't heed
- 17:33Speaker 2: her warning and gets on his broomstick to chase after
- 17:36Speaker 2: Draco Malfoy, and she says.
- 17:39Speaker 3: What an idiot?
- 17:40Speaker 2: And I like had that stuck in my head all
- 17:43Speaker 2: week whenever I saw something dumb. So this what an
- 17:48Speaker 2: idiot moment? Was my neighbor with a chainsaw. Three power
- 17:52Speaker 2: lines are like wrapped around this tree that he is
- 17:57Speaker 2: chainsawing in his front yard. And I'm like that, like
- 18:02Speaker 2: cannot be.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Safe at all. Like You're like, what do we do?
- 18:06Speaker 3: I'm like, what are we doing?
- 18:09Speaker 2: But I also don't want to tell this guy, who
- 18:11Speaker 2: is one my senior, like he was probably in his sixties,
- 18:16Speaker 2: and I probably should have said something to him, but
- 18:18Speaker 2: he's just sitting there just with like three power lines
- 18:23Speaker 2: on this you like you described, it's a full on tree,
- 18:26Speaker 2: this been uprooted.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, what are we doing?
- 18:31Speaker 2: And he gave me the friendliest wave as I drove
- 18:34Speaker 2: my eye and I was like, I mean, more power
- 18:36Speaker 2: to you, dude, but like, be safe out there.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, when I saw that line down in the backyard,
- 18:44Speaker 1: it was immediately hey, nobody go around the wire, knowing
- 18:47Speaker 1: that we're not even gonna go back there. Yeah, that
- 18:49Speaker 1: deep in the yard, but just the dad, Hey, we're
- 18:52Speaker 1: not going in the back there by that power line.
- 18:55Speaker 1: You see that power line. I'm just looking at my
- 18:57Speaker 1: three year old. She's looking up at me like I mean, yeah,
- 18:59Speaker 1: you guys, the one that dresses me to go outside anywhere.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just gonna walk out the back door and
- 19:04Speaker 2: go buy a power line. You're doing the move Fasa
- 19:07Speaker 2: to Simba talk of like everywhere the light you could go.
- 19:12Speaker 1: We had a sketchy moment with the generator because again,
- 19:16Speaker 1: we we bought a new We bought a house like
- 19:19Speaker 1: last year, but it was in phase one, so it's
- 19:20Speaker 1: getting kind of built up, and we just moved in it,
- 19:23Speaker 1: like we closed on in December and then we just
- 19:24Speaker 1: moved in it last week. Yeah, so as we're moving
- 19:28Speaker 1: into last week, it's like when all this snow, the
- 19:30Speaker 1: snow or ice storm that's coming to Nashville, It's like, man,
- 19:33Speaker 1: is our generator gonna be up and going? Because again,
- 19:35Speaker 1: this is a brand new house, brand new generator, and
- 19:38Speaker 1: we opted to get this generator for like any situation
- 19:41Speaker 1: that might come up this one perfect day, we're gonna
- 19:44Speaker 1: get it. There's no walkthroughs, there's no preparation. We're going
- 19:47Speaker 1: to the super Bowl this weekend a few days after
- 19:50Speaker 1: this house and generator gets set up. Yeah, and apparently
- 19:55Speaker 1: with the generator, ANYS needed to come out and do
- 19:57Speaker 1: like a step three or an orientation before the generator
- 20:01Speaker 1: got operating. And I'm kind of sitting there like talk
- 20:03Speaker 1: with my wife, talking with the talking with the squad,
- 20:06Speaker 1: like we have to make sure this thing is going
- 20:08Speaker 1: for this ice worm, like ice is hitting Nashville, like
- 20:11Speaker 1: we're going to get on ice storm.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Like people.
- 20:14Speaker 1: There are people that are prepping that are active and
- 20:16Speaker 1: ready to go, but some that are sleeping on the
- 20:18Speaker 1: fact that they might not believe this ice storm is
- 20:19Speaker 1: gonna happen or the snow or whatever, like, oh, this
- 20:23Speaker 1: happens every year in Nashville and it doesn't really happen.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'm like the European models say we're getting an ice storm.
- 20:29Speaker 1: We need to prepare, Like we're getting a ice storm.
- 20:31Speaker 3: We can't wait.
- 20:32Speaker 1: They were telling ANYS, telling us they'll get somebody out
- 20:34Speaker 1: next Wednesday. This is on Thursday or Friday, I believe,
- 20:38Speaker 1: And it's like that ain't good enough.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Our listeners will be listening to this episode on said
- 20:44Speaker 2: next Wednesday.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yes, today, that everybody's listening to is when somebody was
- 20:47Speaker 1: supposed to come out and do the final step in
- 20:49Speaker 1: orientation for the generator to kick on and start working.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Which is crazy.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So I pick up the phone and I call my
- 20:55Speaker 1: uncle and I'm like, hey, uncle, Chris, I know, I
- 20:58Speaker 1: know you're an electrician, you generator guy. He's like, Oh,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I've installed a couple before. And this is an uncle
- 21:03Speaker 1: you want to have on the team. Like in the family,
- 21:05Speaker 1: you have that one uncle that understands everything going.
- 21:08Speaker 3: On at all times when it comes with handyman.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Workout doors, electric electrical work, whatever it is.
- 21:14Speaker 3: This is the uncle.
- 21:15Speaker 2: What can I just very briefly, what does he sound like?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Do you mind doing his voice for us when you
- 21:21Speaker 2: call him up on the phone.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I can hear normal. Oh really, it's not like a
- 21:26Speaker 1: gravelly voice. Okay, not like a This isn't a beard.
- 21:30Speaker 1: This is a clean shaven kind of got a bigger
- 21:33Speaker 1: but sharper nose.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Okay. Cargo pants are cargo shorts.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Oh, he's he's a car he's a yeah, he's a
- 21:40Speaker 1: cargo pants and play He's a he's a pants and
- 21:42Speaker 1: polo type of cat.
- 21:43Speaker 2: He has the the low ankle marriles on all times.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a dude who would go into a
- 21:48Speaker 1: swim lesson but still have the utility built on.
- 21:51Speaker 3: So he's that's a tru sick guy. Yeah, yeah, he's
- 21:54Speaker 3: an operator.
- 21:55Speaker 2: He ain't playing no roles.
- 21:56Speaker 1: And I'm sending him photos. I'm sending him the serial number.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm sending him the model of Gannerac that I got
- 22:03Speaker 1: everybody out there being like it's a generack, it's a generak,
- 22:06Speaker 1: the Gannerac twenty four k watt generator that I got cooking.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I'm sending him all the information on it because then
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm just basically asking him, can you walk me through
- 22:17Speaker 1: how to get this generator going? He is of the
- 22:19Speaker 1: belief that he's able to, and so we start operating
- 22:24Speaker 1: a little bit. He's diving in on the manual while
- 22:26Speaker 1: I'm doing you know, I'm doing something else and awesome, like, hey,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'll just I'll call you back. You read through the
- 22:31Speaker 1: manual and whenever you feel like you can walk me through.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Because he understands what.
- 22:34Speaker 1: He understands that I got my mother's brain side of
- 22:37Speaker 1: me that can figure some stuff out and think on
- 22:39Speaker 1: my feet. But he also knows I got the Bill
- 22:42Speaker 1: Compton's side of my brain too, that can just go
- 22:44Speaker 1: dead at times.
- 22:45Speaker 3: It operates a little bit slower.
- 22:46Speaker 1: So he knows he's operating with both of these brains,
- 22:49Speaker 1: but he is like, I know what I'm working with
- 22:51Speaker 1: mentally with you, He's like, but I believe you got
- 22:53Speaker 1: something in there that you can tap into and we
- 22:55Speaker 1: can figure this thing out together. I'm like, trust me,
- 22:58Speaker 1: the Kathy Compton brain is operating right now.
- 23:00Speaker 3: I'm ready to go. I said you to point me
- 23:02Speaker 3: to the right direction. Oh man.
- 23:04Speaker 1: And as we continue to learning more because I'm also calling,
- 23:07Speaker 1: we're also communicating with the builder of the house, and
- 23:10Speaker 1: I'm essentially he comes over to make sure the ice
- 23:13Speaker 1: maker is making like ice because again there's still some
- 23:16Speaker 1: things that we're trying to get fixed and make sure
- 23:18Speaker 1: is operating.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Just for a new home owner, like new house, new homeowner.
- 23:21Speaker 2: This is a bread this is a new build. I
- 23:24Speaker 2: know you said that with the it was in the
- 23:27Speaker 2: first step, but like Will's house is a completely new build. Yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 2: you don't know if the water pipes are good. You
- 23:33Speaker 2: don't know if the gas pipes are good.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, we're making sure all of that is good to go.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Just as we have this the house, but also now
- 23:40Speaker 1: even more agency now that we know this ice storm
- 23:43Speaker 1: is coming.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So there's a builder that's in and out of house,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and I'm just asking straight up. I'm like, hey, do
- 23:47Speaker 1: you know of like can we just get like an
- 23:49Speaker 1: electrician or do you know guys that could get around
- 23:52Speaker 1: whatever anys is trying to do to where we can
- 23:54Speaker 1: just get this generator operational for this weekend. And that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: what he was essentially working on. Ultimately, guys came out
- 24:01Speaker 1: to work on it. I'm telling my uncle Chris, I'm like, hey,
- 24:03Speaker 1: there's guys that are come out working on it, probably
- 24:05Speaker 1: doing whatever he was happy to walk.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Through and do. And they said it would take a
- 24:08Speaker 3: couple hours.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Bro on Saturday when the snow's coming down, they were
- 24:11Speaker 1: out there for six hours trying to get this going.
- 24:13Speaker 1: So when I'm telling my uncle about it, he's like,
- 24:15Speaker 1: that tells me that they hadn't messed with your generator
- 24:18Speaker 1: at all, and it wasn't really ready to go. When
- 24:21Speaker 1: they say step three in like an orientation, because it
- 24:24Speaker 1: feels step three in an orientation, He's like, I felt
- 24:26Speaker 1: confident that I'd be able to walk you through it.
- 24:28Speaker 1: But these guys were out there for like six hours
- 24:29Speaker 1: trying to get this generator going to where when the
- 24:31Speaker 1: snow's coming down, our power had to be off so
- 24:34Speaker 1: that they could run like a test or do some
- 24:37Speaker 1: operation before it was.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Like fully functional.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so our powers off for probably two hours when
- 24:44Speaker 1: this all was going down, but that was the time
- 24:45Speaker 1: where we could go play outside, we could do other
- 24:47Speaker 1: things going on. And then they're like, all right, generators operational.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It should kick on automatically whenever the power if the
- 24:55Speaker 1: power goes out, so we're like all right, cool, good
- 24:57Speaker 1: to go. We go to bed that night on Saturday.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And again that's on Saturday was when we had the snowfall.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So a couple of inches of snow came down and
- 25:04Speaker 1: everybody's calling for all right, tomorrow's gonna transition. You're gonna
- 25:07Speaker 1: start getting sleep. This is when the ice comes in.
- 25:09Speaker 1: We're gonna hit single digits and everything else. But don't
- 25:12Speaker 1: be caught off guard when there's rain happening, because it's
- 25:15Speaker 1: something with the stratosphere and the atmosphere and the cumulot
- 25:17Speaker 1: nimbus clouds in this warm nose that pushes in. There's
- 25:21Speaker 1: gonna be rain for a little bit, but then it's
- 25:22Speaker 1: all gonna turn the ice, so be ready for power outages.
- 25:26Speaker 1: So about four point forty five in the morning, our
- 25:28Speaker 1: power goes off. Charlie wakes me up because you know
- 25:31Speaker 1: I'm sleeping. Yeah, and hey, Will Will Will. Our power
- 25:35Speaker 1: just went out, like our monitors aren't working. I'm like,
- 25:37Speaker 1: all right, well, janitors should kick on, right, And all
- 25:39Speaker 1: of a sudden, we look out the windows because we
- 25:41Speaker 1: don't have any curtains or anything up on the windows,
- 25:43Speaker 1: and it's just like this fireworks show or a light
- 25:46Speaker 1: show that's going on through the lights in the pool.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Power outages going out. You see stuff kind of blowing up,
- 25:52Speaker 1: but just like lights everywhere, and we're just like, holy shit.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Our generator tries kicking on. It kicks on to where
- 25:59Speaker 1: the monitor come on, and everything's like it's back, Like okay,
- 26:02Speaker 1: I think we're good.
- 26:02Speaker 3: The generator kicked on, it turns off.
- 26:05Speaker 1: We feel like the power at large resets that comes on.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Then that goes off, and we're just kind of sitting
- 26:11Speaker 1: there in bed like what the hell is going on?
- 26:13Speaker 1: And I'm like, well, I think the generator is gonna
- 26:15Speaker 1: kick on. Generator kicks back on again. But it flutters
- 26:18Speaker 1: and then goes back off.
- 26:19Speaker 3: No.
- 26:20Speaker 1: No, we're just sitting there. The monitors are out, everything's out,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and I'm like, she's like what do you what do
- 26:25Speaker 1: you What do you think we should do? And I'm like, uh,
- 26:27Speaker 1: She's like do you want to go check the generator?
- 26:29Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, sweetheart, it's like five in
- 26:30Speaker 1: the morning, like maybe maybe the generator will kick back on.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Like I think we should just go back to sleep,
- 26:36Speaker 1: and then a couple hours I think everything will.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Be like oh. I'm like because Scotty wakes up.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Scotty wakes up because the sound machine goes off, soald
- 26:47Speaker 1: machine's off. So she goes up, puts her back down,
- 26:50Speaker 1: and I'm kind of laying there and like yeah, I
- 26:51Speaker 1: was like, I think the dude said the generator is
- 26:53Speaker 1: gonna kick on, like it's ready to go. So we
- 26:56Speaker 1: fall back asleep, wake up around maybe six or seven,
- 27:00Speaker 1: and it's still off. Everything's still off, like shit, and
- 27:04Speaker 1: I'm like, uh, I'm calling my uncle and I'm talking
- 27:07Speaker 1: to him and I was thinking about calling the builder.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, he get me by.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'm like, man, nobody's gonna come out here now because
- 27:12Speaker 1: now is when the storm is like hitting, like the
- 27:15Speaker 1: ice is going to start. The ice is starting to happen. Stuff,
- 27:17Speaker 1: Trees are falling down outside. It just started to It
- 27:20Speaker 1: was still sleeping, but then it's turning in the rain
- 27:22Speaker 1: a little bit. So I'm out in the put on
- 27:25Speaker 1: the boots, come on, put on the gear, Come on,
- 27:27Speaker 1: let me go take a look at this generator. Come on,
- 27:30Speaker 1: I'm on the phone.
- 27:30Speaker 3: My uncle.
- 27:31Speaker 1: He's like, pop it open. There should be like a
- 27:33Speaker 1: digital the digital face that we were seeing yesterday. It
- 27:35Speaker 1: should be able to tell you what's going on. So
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm kind of over there. There's like ice on it.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I'm you know, I'm giving it that that PT six
- 27:42Speaker 1: look or you're kind of like what's going look at that?
- 27:45Speaker 3: All right?
- 27:46Speaker 1: So I can touch this thing and I ain't gonna die.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I ain't gonta get a election. He's like, no, just
- 27:51Speaker 1: pop the top and all right, pop the top. I
- 27:54Speaker 1: see the digital face and it's kind of running.
- 27:56Speaker 3: It's kind of letting you know what error code is
- 27:59Speaker 3: on there. So I get out to Google.
- 28:01Speaker 1: We're looking up the air code and it looks like
- 28:04Speaker 1: just like an over an overcook system, like it's overworking
- 28:07Speaker 1: because the alarm system kicked on, and he's like, what
- 28:10Speaker 1: that tells me is that there was air in the
- 28:13Speaker 1: gas line. He's like, that's not a bad thing, it's
- 28:15Speaker 1: just it was starting up. This is a first time generator.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Yeah yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 1: And he's like, but you should follow the directions where
- 28:23Speaker 1: it says you can push push the off button. You're
- 28:26Speaker 1: gonna hit enter and then the green light, the automatic light,
- 28:30Speaker 1: it's gonna go off.
- 28:30Speaker 3: It's gonna go dark. We're not gonna panic.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, there's no panic, So I can
- 28:35Speaker 1: hit this button right now, nothing's gonna happen. He's like, yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 1: hit the off button. I'm like, so touch the off button.
- 28:41Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, hit the off button. I hit the
- 28:44Speaker 1: off button and I kind of like run back, look
- 28:46Speaker 1: back up on it, like all right, it's off. He's like, no,
- 28:50Speaker 1: hit enter. I hit enter and kind of hit a
- 28:52Speaker 1: lean back, like all right, the green light went off.
- 28:54Speaker 1: He's like, now hit auto. Once she hit auto, it
- 28:57Speaker 1: should be fully operational, because that's what Google is telling us,
- 29:00Speaker 1: that's what the manual is down on us Chat GPT.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I'm confirming across to the full slate and checking my source.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yeah, so I.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Hit auto, Dude, it just starts humming up and it
- 29:11Speaker 1: was working like a dream. Power comes on, like thank god.
- 29:15Speaker 1: We were without power for like three or four hours. Yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 1: power kicks on, and uh, fortunately we've had the generator.
- 29:23Speaker 1: The generator has been running the whole time. Like again,
- 29:24Speaker 1: like I said earlier, our power is still out right now.
- 29:27Speaker 1: And then throughout the day on Sunday, probably around one
- 29:31Speaker 1: o'clock because I had made my run to Target and
- 29:33Speaker 1: done all this stuff to get the last bit of supplies. Yeah,
- 29:36Speaker 1: come back home and I'm texting with somebody and all
- 29:40Speaker 1: of a sudden it's not going through. And I'm like,
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think so and so I think their their WiFi
- 29:44Speaker 1: might be on, Charles like it might be ours because
- 29:46Speaker 1: I'm not. Mine's not loading different things either, and so
- 29:51Speaker 1: I tried checking my WiFi, checking the Internet, check the
- 29:54Speaker 1: social lifts, and I'm like, yeah, my stuff's not load neither.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Then we look in the backyard a lot that power
- 30:00Speaker 1: line or that that line is down. It could have
- 30:02Speaker 1: been the fiber line for AT and T. So that
- 30:04Speaker 1: goes out. We lose internet right before an hour before
- 30:08Speaker 1: kickoff at the NFL playoffs.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Buddy, you didn't even get to see how hot Jared
- 30:14Speaker 2: Stidham looked walking on.
- 30:16Speaker 1: We're saying I like again, I the worst part of
- 30:19Speaker 1: losing Internet was not be able to not being able
- 30:23Speaker 1: to watch the NFL playoffs.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't follow it on the internet. You can't
- 30:28Speaker 2: stream it because everything's down and out. I also we
- 30:32Speaker 2: made buffalo chicken dip. Sweetheart, get out in your stance.
- 30:37Speaker 2: We're going to reenact a football game. We gotta have
- 30:39Speaker 2: some football going on. Jaric got the hand cranked radio, right,
- 30:43Speaker 2: weren't you.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Listening on the radio?
- 30:45Speaker 4: Cat did a good job of buying like a power
- 30:47Speaker 4: bank and stuff, and she bought what we were calling
- 30:49Speaker 4: the apocalypse radio, which has three buttons on it and
- 30:53Speaker 4: you put batteries in and the top buttons the straight light,
- 30:56Speaker 4: notal buttons, the red thing, and then bottom buttons and sos.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Sound that's louder than anything I've ever heard of my life.
- 31:01Speaker 3: So loud. And so I'm sitting there and we had
- 31:03Speaker 3: it on.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Our power went out Sunday at seven am and it's
- 31:06Speaker 4: still out. I feel like Stu Pickles churning chocolate pudding
- 31:09Speaker 4: in his kitchen. If you know, Yeah, I've lost control.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Here's the radio seven thousands to change the world.
- 31:17Speaker 4: And so I put three double A or triple A
- 31:18Speaker 4: batteries in it, and I'm sitting there and it starts
- 31:20Speaker 4: to die here on Sunday night, and I just pick
- 31:22Speaker 4: it up and I'm just hand cranking it, and she's like,
- 31:27Speaker 4: can we put more batteries? I was like, I can't,
- 31:30Speaker 4: as I I can. So I'm listening. Jar Stanham has
- 31:33Speaker 4: the ball, and so we listened to a lot of
- 31:36Speaker 4: games and Clump sent in the He said, well, Rabel
- 31:38Speaker 4: had the boys ready, and I said, sounds like it.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Check it over, Yeah, go ahead, go ahead. No, you're fine,
- 31:47Speaker 3: you're a Texa club.
- 31:48Speaker 6: No.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I checked in with Clump.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I called Clump because there was this weird pocket in
- 31:51Speaker 1: my house to where service was all the way down.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I couldn't access the Internet, but a pocket in my
- 31:57Speaker 1: house I could get out some message yeah, and then
- 31:59Speaker 1: make weirdly make a phone call. And I'm on the
- 32:02Speaker 1: phone with Clump and he's like, Patriots won ten to seven.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'm like ten to seven. He's walking through how Stidham looked,
- 32:07Speaker 1: how he threw a pick or had a bad ball
- 32:09Speaker 1: the opening drive, and he's kind of calming everybody down
- 32:11Speaker 1: Stead looked good. Drake mainly had like eighty something yards
- 32:15Speaker 1: like it was just a it was a dog.
- 32:17Speaker 6: Fighting blizzard came in about it was That's what I heard.
- 32:20Speaker 6: Twenty minute period, it went from like looking like a
- 32:23Speaker 6: normal day to just chaos.
- 32:26Speaker 3: It was a sick It.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Was a beautiful kickoff, like it looked like a beauty
- 32:29Speaker 2: a crisp day for sure, but a beautiful sunny day.
- 32:34Speaker 3: And then to Chef's point, I mean it turned ugly quick.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And then I heard the the Ramsey at Seattle game
- 32:41Speaker 1: was just incredible. Yeah, it was just fireworks. And again
- 32:46Speaker 1: I'm sitting here thinking like we're trying to do bus tomorrow.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I got I'm sitting there trying to talk to everybody
- 32:51Speaker 1: about like what the pulse is out there, Like I
- 32:53Speaker 1: know what's going on in my neighborhood, and uh, like
- 32:57Speaker 1: here are we going to do.
- 32:57Speaker 3: An episode tomorrow.
- 32:58Speaker 1: It seemed like Taylor, he's got that badass side by
- 33:01Speaker 1: side so where he's like, hey, I can get to
- 33:03Speaker 1: the shop. I'm talking to you. I'm talking to Shrem.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Shurem's like I'm gonna go stay at the shop because
- 33:08Speaker 1: their power was out. But there's power at the shop.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Jill and Scarlet's gonna stay with their friends. I'm gonna
- 33:13Speaker 1: take the dogs and sleep at the here at the shop.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Jared was already here at the shop because their power
- 33:18Speaker 1: was out with his girlfriend, so him, his girlfriend, and
- 33:21Speaker 1: two bigger dogs are even in the stream room. So
- 33:24Speaker 1: we had guys here that could function the episode. Taylor
- 33:27Speaker 1: was confident that he was going to get out. He's like, oh, listen,
- 33:30Speaker 1: I'll run a solo if I need to, because I'm
- 33:32Speaker 1: thinking the way this ice is gonna freeze over all
- 33:34Speaker 1: the corners we've seen around Nashville. Guys kind of like,
- 33:37Speaker 1: you know, hey, basically, what are we doing tomorrow? And
- 33:40Speaker 1: it's like, look, there's zero expectation to come in if
- 33:43Speaker 1: guys are at the shop, and if your heart desires
- 33:45Speaker 1: to get in there, yeah you can shoot an episode
- 33:47Speaker 1: with Taylor, then by all means rock the episode. But
- 33:50Speaker 1: I'm sitting there like dog, I'm telling Clump, I'm like,
- 33:53Speaker 1: bro take notes for me. So that way, if I
- 33:54Speaker 1: do happen to make it, or if internet comes back
- 33:57Speaker 1: on and I can zoom in no some something of
- 34:00Speaker 1: what happened in the games.
- 34:02Speaker 3: I'm thinking about ESPN this week.
- 34:03Speaker 1: How I'm here now, so I'll get to tap into
- 34:06Speaker 1: just rewatching the games and getting privy to all that.
- 34:08Speaker 1: And I'm thinking, like all of our work happens on
- 34:10Speaker 1: the internet, I have none, and I'm just out there
- 34:13Speaker 1: just sending ravens to everybody trying to figure out, Hey,
- 34:17Speaker 1: what's the what's the operation going to look like this week?
- 34:19Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 34:19Speaker 2: You true, I didn't realize the extent of it until
- 34:22Speaker 2: I got on the film with you that second time,
- 34:24Speaker 2: of just how much you were without any communication to
- 34:30Speaker 2: the outside world.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah, because when I get in that pocket, it's almost
- 34:33Speaker 1: like thirty messages coming to my phone and then I'm
- 34:36Speaker 1: trying to reach out. I'm trying to hit the priority
- 34:38Speaker 1: ones first and seeing because at times I'd be like
- 34:41Speaker 1: lucky to have five ge or whatever it is. And
- 34:45Speaker 1: so I'm just sitting up there and then I hear
- 34:46Speaker 1: my wife, Hey, will can you come help or something
- 34:49Speaker 1: like that, Because you were operating with two kiddos, a
- 34:50Speaker 1: one year old on the three year old, and that.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Was honestly, we had a good time.
- 34:55Speaker 1: It's just when you were like trapped in the house
- 34:58Speaker 1: and they're just they constantly need things all the time,
- 35:00Speaker 1: and Scotti is just a demon.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Bro.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Scotty's like I feel like maybe.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Watching a boy, like the amount of trouble she gets
- 35:09Speaker 1: into and just kind of like she's just devious.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Like she'll see Rube playing.
- 35:13Speaker 1: With the toy, she walk over and grab the toy
- 35:16Speaker 1: and real kind of you know, Rue goes sideway. She
- 35:17Speaker 1: knows she can't like push her hit. She wants to
- 35:19Speaker 1: like do something with Scotty and we're like, hey, you can't, like, hey,
- 35:22Speaker 1: be gentle with her.
- 35:23Speaker 3: She thinks she's playing with you, and.
- 35:24Speaker 1: We're like, Scotty, give the toy back, and I like
- 35:26Speaker 1: walk over to Scotty and Scotty'll like she like turn
- 35:28Speaker 1: around and run away from me and I grab it.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Or if Ruthe's like gate keeping the toys and Scotty
- 35:33Speaker 1: can't get to the toils to just sit there, I'll
- 35:35Speaker 1: like observe her from afar because I'm kind of smiling,
- 35:38Speaker 1: and Scotty'll just stand there for a second. The next
- 35:41Speaker 1: thing you know, she like grabs He's hair and like
- 35:43Speaker 1: takes her headband off.
- 35:45Speaker 3: She is, she's devs.
- 35:48Speaker 1: She just makes us ah like she's like walking around everywhere.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Dude, we were watching her. She was she was, Uh, we.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Were eating dinner one night and we heat it up
- 35:59Speaker 1: a frozen pizza and cut it up, cut it up
- 36:02Speaker 1: for her, and she like puts two or three pieces
- 36:04Speaker 1: in her mouth and she starts like choking, and we're like,
- 36:07Speaker 1: we're like kidding her stomach, and Charles like lifting her
- 36:09Speaker 1: in the thing, like you know, we're having the PTSD
- 36:11Speaker 1: when Rue's chumping on that coin, but she's choking a
- 36:14Speaker 1: little bit trying to get it out. A couple of
- 36:16Speaker 1: things come out, like some puke comes out, and she
- 36:18Speaker 1: just you know, got a couple of tears like running
- 36:20Speaker 1: from rice, not from crying, but from like gagging. A
- 36:22Speaker 1: little bit food comes out onto the thing, and Charles
- 36:25Speaker 1: trying to clean her up. But as Charl's trying to
- 36:27Speaker 1: clean her up, she's got the teary eyes from like
- 36:29Speaker 1: gagging everything else. She just goes back to picking up
- 36:31Speaker 1: the puke and starts like eating the pizza in the puke,
- 36:34Speaker 1: just for unfazed. She is Scottie, hey, hey, relax, don't
- 36:38Speaker 1: eat that, trying to knock it out of her hands.
- 36:40Speaker 1: She's like, ah, trying to like eat it more.
- 36:43Speaker 3: We have her out out in the snow for the
- 36:45Speaker 3: first time.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Like, I wonder how she's gonna operate because they're in
- 36:47Speaker 1: like a tighter You got them in their winter gear,
- 36:49Speaker 1: they got boots on. They're used to kind of walking
- 36:50Speaker 1: around their bare feet or like light shoes. She's got bootsong.
- 36:53Speaker 1: She's kind of just standing there. She tries to take
- 36:55Speaker 1: a step, goes down, doesn't cry, pick her back up.
- 36:58Speaker 1: She tries to take a step, like for sure, pick
- 37:01Speaker 1: her up. She's one that where she kind of bands
- 37:03Speaker 1: and goes face first in the snow.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Never cried. Yeah, just tries to keep it moving. Bro
- 37:07Speaker 3: Like Ralphie in a Christmas story. Yeah, yeah, kind of.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Like sitting out there Ralphie in a Christmas story. I'm like,
- 37:12Speaker 1: come on, Scotty walk and she like looks down. I'm
- 37:15Speaker 1: like throwing snowballs at her. She tries to take a
- 37:17Speaker 1: step falls.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Scotty is different. She is truly your daughter. Really really
- 37:23Speaker 2: is Charro's daughter, and Scotty is your daughter to the
- 37:27Speaker 2: tea dude, her personality. I can't wait to as she
- 37:32Speaker 2: grows up to like see that developed more and more,
- 37:35Speaker 2: because I feel like you're born with that.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Like just that sensation of like oh I just choked.
- 37:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna cry a little bit because I want mom
- 37:44Speaker 2: and dad to comfort me and Scotty just to go,
- 37:48Speaker 2: oh good, it's out of my throat more in.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that was close. Get back to eating. Hey, he's
- 37:58Speaker 1: born with the dog in her. Yeah, she's born with
- 38:01Speaker 1: the dog.
- 38:01Speaker 3: That gets me so stoked.
- 38:03Speaker 1: I feel like their personality start really coming alive. Scotty's
- 38:07Speaker 1: at fourteen months right now. They really start coming to
- 38:10Speaker 1: alive around that sixteen month mark. Yeah, that's when it
- 38:13Speaker 1: becomes just I made the comment last night to my wife.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I'm like, man, I just don't want Scotty to get
- 38:17Speaker 1: any bigger because there's just the vision you have of her.
- 38:20Speaker 1: You just want it to stay like forever. How's how's wifey,
- 38:25Speaker 1: how's your situation been.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I mean it's been it's been really good.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Like for the dads out there, power goes out, you're
- 38:32Speaker 1: figuring stuff out. Look, fortunately for us, our generator kicked
- 38:35Speaker 1: in and was working, so we got to stay together.
- 38:38Speaker 1: We're in the house, we're utilizing the general We don't
- 38:40Speaker 1: know how much capacity it holds for the house, So
- 38:42Speaker 1: every room we go in, we turn the lights on,
- 38:44Speaker 1: turn the lights off. Yeah, but we get to kind
- 38:46Speaker 1: of stay together. You're in a situation, which I feel
- 38:48Speaker 1: like there are a lot of dads and families in
- 38:50Speaker 1: Nashville that are whether they're in Derek situation where they're
- 38:53Speaker 1: just holding guard, holding for it at the spot, using
- 38:56Speaker 1: heat when they can use heat, other families where it's like, hey,
- 39:00Speaker 1: we were we're gonna get out of this situation. We're
- 39:02Speaker 1: gonna go stay with a friend, or we're gonna go
- 39:03Speaker 1: try to check in a hotel. Like, how has that
- 39:06Speaker 1: operation been for you guys in the strets, it's had
- 39:08Speaker 1: for the fam.
- 39:09Speaker 2: So when power went out, initially it's Scarlet, my wife,
- 39:15Speaker 2: and then our two dogs.
- 39:16Speaker 3: We have two little dogs under fifteen pounds.
- 39:19Speaker 2: And the first off, shout out my dad for the
- 39:23Speaker 2: Christmas presents. Crazy how much those came in clutch firestarter kit. Yeah,
- 39:27Speaker 2: two triple A packs, two double A packs, two head lamps,
- 39:31Speaker 2: and six flashlights and I used almost every single one
- 39:34Speaker 2: of them. I love that crazy shout out Papa Sirm
- 39:38Speaker 2: who Bill and Papa Scherm would love.
- 39:42Speaker 3: We've talked about.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Their love for hunting, but I feel like they would
- 39:45Speaker 2: love to just sit down and talk survival. My dad's
- 39:49Speaker 2: the same way any type of storm, it's you know,
- 39:52Speaker 2: but with uh, with the power going out, I was,
- 39:58Speaker 2: I don't know, it's it's weird, Like I don't want
- 40:00Speaker 2: to get too deep with it, but I think everybody
- 40:03Speaker 2: could agree that there's almost something spiritual about having to
- 40:06Speaker 2: like leave your house, like you feel like you're giving
- 40:09Speaker 2: up almost and like I didn't want to leave my
- 40:12Speaker 2: damn house.
- 40:13Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Like it's different though, like you have such a little
- 40:17Speaker 1: one like I do too. This if our generator wasn't working,
- 40:21Speaker 1: like we would have found a pivot, because I'm thinking,
- 40:24Speaker 1: if I'm living by myself, I'll be like, this is
- 40:27Speaker 1: where you just immerse yourself and the chaos and the suck.
- 40:30Speaker 3: You're trying to prove something to the world.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Or if it was just me and my wife,
- 40:34Speaker 1: we'd be figuring out like it seems like Deacon his
- 40:36Speaker 1: his wife are doing. But there's a there's a part
- 40:39Speaker 1: when you do have a little kiddos where I'm just thinking, Man,
- 40:41Speaker 1: if you're in the.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Worst what are the what's the what are the worst.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Possibilities in this situation? And that's what you're ultimately wanting
- 40:48Speaker 1: to protect from because you don't want to be where
- 40:51Speaker 1: it's too cold, and then the kids and you're just
- 40:53Speaker 1: you just start worrying so much more where it's like, yo,
- 40:55Speaker 1: let's find a way to get the fuck out of here.
- 40:57Speaker 1: And then there's another layer of dogs and that and
- 40:59Speaker 1: that's that's really what you're exactly right. That was the
- 41:03Speaker 1: defining moment of Hey, we'll have the fire going, maybe
- 41:07Speaker 1: the power comes back on. We have a great fireplace,
- 41:10Speaker 1: and where on the sofas and Scarlett is bundled up
- 41:13Speaker 1: with Jill, and Scarlett's had like a little bit of
- 41:17Speaker 1: crud just in her lungs that you can kind of
- 41:19Speaker 1: hear when she like coughs.
- 41:21Speaker 3: She's not sick, but there's just a little stuff in there. Yeah,
- 41:25Speaker 3: she woke up.
- 41:26Speaker 2: From a nap with Jill, we all did, and I
- 41:30Speaker 2: hear one little like and you hear that like extra
- 41:34Speaker 2: crud and just her little cough, dude, And I was like,
- 41:38Speaker 2: We're yeah, we're getting out of here like this, We're done.
- 41:42Speaker 2: We only did like a couple hours before we started
- 41:44Speaker 2: game planning. And thankfully my best friend from high school
- 41:48Speaker 2: best man and my wedding Brian Cox, lives here in Nashville.
- 41:52Speaker 3: They still have power. We had a little text thread going.
- 41:56Speaker 2: They don't have any dogs, and they have a beautiful
- 41:58Speaker 2: house and our dogs are just Wrigley loves marking when
- 42:01Speaker 2: he gets to a new place, he's he's our little
- 42:04Speaker 2: Chiweeni Chiwawalla and the docs and he thinks that he's
- 42:09Speaker 2: a great Dane and so like he operates. He and
- 42:12Speaker 2: Scotty are built from, you know, the same deck and anyways,
- 42:18Speaker 2: I was like, I just cannot be a burden to
- 42:22Speaker 2: these people when they are allowing Scotty or Scarlett and
- 42:27Speaker 2: Jill to come stay with them, So I will take
- 42:30Speaker 2: the dogs to the shop and stay there. Jill was
- 42:33Speaker 2: super upset about that and was like, I don't want
- 42:36Speaker 2: to split up. I was like, I totally get it.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I'll hang out at the Cox's house for a while
- 42:42Speaker 2: before I then go to the shop with the dogs.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I'll just go there at night and we'll figure it
- 42:47Speaker 2: out from there. And uh, yeah, that was a whole
- 42:51Speaker 2: nother thing. Any Siko's out there. They're also a fan
- 42:54Speaker 2: of Inside the Bus. I slept on the inside the
- 42:56Speaker 2: bus set. I'll send you a nice.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Picture of that chef of Wrigley.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I got Wrigley on my chest and he's in front
- 43:04Speaker 2: of the inside the bus. Uh portrait that that guy
- 43:08Speaker 2: made for us. It's like a embroidered portrait of the
- 43:12Speaker 2: inside the bus logo. So you have all the guys
- 43:14Speaker 2: in the shop sticking out of the bus and waving.
- 43:17Speaker 2: And I said, no nightmares tonight. We got all the
- 43:19Speaker 2: boys watching over us as we sleep. We made the
- 43:23Speaker 2: best of it. I woke up to the dog seeing
- 43:27Speaker 2: to pee at like six something, took him out. They
- 43:31Speaker 2: did a great job. They had no accidents in the shop.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I was actually really proud of him. Uh yeah, that does.
- 43:36Speaker 2: That is a big dog.
- 43:38Speaker 1: That was when I'm on the phone with you and Jared,
- 43:40Speaker 1: and then I'm like, you guys can go stand the shop.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Jared's there with his two dogs. Sharon was coming over
- 43:46Speaker 3: with his two dogs.
- 43:47Speaker 1: We're gonna have two of our employees with four dogs
- 43:49Speaker 1: total in the shop. I'm glad that we have power
- 43:51Speaker 1: and everything was operating here. I also feel like I
- 43:56Speaker 1: definitely see where Jill's coming from, because you just don't
- 43:58Speaker 1: know what the ice is going to do over night
- 44:00Speaker 1: once it hits in single ditches to where one hundred
- 44:03Speaker 1: could be a situation where you're trapped here or they're
- 44:05Speaker 1: trapped wherever they're at.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Yes, it's just like staying together.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Yes, like we need to stay together, so I will
- 44:11Speaker 2: I basically I wake up, I take.
- 44:13Speaker 3: The dogs out.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I already have text from Jill that's like we need
- 44:16Speaker 2: a hotel asap, Like we need to find a hotel asap.
- 44:20Speaker 2: I want to be all together. And I was like,
- 44:22Speaker 2: I don't blame you either. I miss you really bad
- 44:24Speaker 2: and I'm worried about you.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Guys. The stress is like starting to come on.
- 44:29Speaker 2: And I just woke up, like to the most hilarious
- 44:33Speaker 2: phone call of all time at like eight of Will
- 44:36Speaker 2: Compton calling me. And I'm on the set of the
- 44:39Speaker 2: Inside the Bus, shirtless with my two dogs on either
- 44:42Speaker 2: side of me, and I'm half asleep and I'm like hello,
- 44:46Speaker 2: and Will's on the other line and go Sherman, wakey, wakey,
- 44:49Speaker 2: hands off, snaky, what is life right.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Hands off?
- 44:58Speaker 8: Like?
- 44:58Speaker 2: Where what is life right now? What are we doing?
- 45:01Speaker 2: He's like clumps heading in, Mitch's heading in, I know
- 45:05Speaker 2: you and Jared are there, and Taylor is gonna be
- 45:07Speaker 2: heading in. And I was like, all right, we'll record
- 45:10Speaker 2: the pod. And I'm super damned to do you so,
- 45:13Speaker 2: But then Jill's you know, also like lighting me up
- 45:16Speaker 2: of like we got to get a hotel. So we're
- 45:19Speaker 2: operating and doing that. Thankfully, right before we recorded, we
- 45:22Speaker 2: were able. Here is a dad hack for you. Hilton
- 45:27Speaker 2: has a really great customer servicing where they can basically
- 45:30Speaker 2: run run you through all their branches of hotels in
- 45:34Speaker 2: the area and compare prices and like if a place
- 45:38Speaker 2: is dog friendly or not, and see if there's vacancy
- 45:42Speaker 2: at hotels. Because I was just going off of Safari
- 45:45Speaker 2: and trying to call individually, how.
- 45:48Speaker 3: How filled up were in hotels packed?
- 45:51Speaker 1: I figured, man, again, it was like over fifty percent
- 45:55Speaker 1: of nes customers. It was a power ouder as I
- 45:57Speaker 1: saw one graph I don't know if it's it was
- 46:00Speaker 1: from the Weather Channel, but yeah, saying like upwards of
- 46:02Speaker 1: seventy to eighty percent of Nashville's without power.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, easily.
- 46:06Speaker 2: And all the pet friendly hotels are like in Brentwood
- 46:10Speaker 2: and Franklin. Yeah, but that's where all the suburbs are,
- 46:13Speaker 2: so like every single family with a dog, they all
- 46:18Speaker 2: got hotels instantly, which I should have done. It's definitely
- 46:22Speaker 2: a learning lesson there, and so everywhere was packed. But
- 46:27Speaker 2: then thankfully we got on the phone with this Hilton lady.
- 46:30Speaker 2: She's running through and she's like, I got one.
- 46:32Speaker 3: You know.
- 46:33Speaker 2: It's in downtown Nashville, which is close by for us record,
- 46:38Speaker 2: the pod went picked up Jill. We go back to
- 46:40Speaker 2: the house. The house inside the house was like I
- 46:44Speaker 2: big forty or right around there like thirty nine or forty.
- 46:49Speaker 2: We're packing everything up in this hole. Like I describe
- 46:53Speaker 2: it as like, oh, I go to pick up Jill
- 46:55Speaker 2: from family friends house. We go to go pack up,
- 46:58Speaker 2: then we go to hotel.
- 47:00Speaker 3: That's over.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Like that took like four hours, five hours because everything's
- 47:05Speaker 2: just slow. We're having to feed Scarlet. We're sitting in
- 47:08Speaker 2: the driveway and Scarlet's bawling outside of our house with
- 47:11Speaker 2: no power as we're like using our Oh god, I
- 47:16Speaker 2: gotta remember the baby Breza, the little portable baby Breza
- 47:19Speaker 2: to gilt the milk. And I'm just sitting there a
- 47:23Speaker 2: thousand yard stare forward and Jill's like holding Scarlet. I'm like, God,
- 47:27Speaker 2: I can't get to this hotel fast enough, get everything packed.
- 47:32Speaker 3: We get to the dog friendly hotel.
- 47:33Speaker 2: I'll send you another video, Chef, you got remind me
- 47:36Speaker 2: I've said that like eight times this spot. I apologize,
- 47:40Speaker 2: but I took a video of all the dog poop
- 47:42Speaker 2: outside of this dog friendly hotels.
- 47:44Speaker 3: It was, and y'all, the.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Amount of people with every single dog at this dog
- 47:49Speaker 2: friendly hotel was either a Great Dane or a Pyrenees
- 47:53Speaker 2: or like the biggest dogs I've ever seen. These shits
- 47:56Speaker 2: looked like fat Cuban cigars, but like that, the craziest
- 48:02Speaker 2: dogshits I've ever seen. They're all over the place we
- 48:06Speaker 2: walk in. Dogs are everywhere in the lobby of this
- 48:09Speaker 2: home to Suite is the name of the hotel. They're barking.
- 48:14Speaker 2: There's kids running everywhere because the lobby has like a
- 48:18Speaker 2: pool table and like some little games for like kiddos.
- 48:21Speaker 2: It is a family hotel for sure. And I'm just
- 48:25Speaker 2: looking at all these dads are seeing ghosts like everybody's
- 48:29Speaker 2: just like holy shit. And Jill just did such a
- 48:34Speaker 2: good job of it. And that's like my lesson of
- 48:36Speaker 2: the week that I'll read at the end. But Jill
- 48:39Speaker 2: was just doing such a good job of like, hey,
- 48:41Speaker 2: we're all together and everything's good, like we're and she's
- 48:45Speaker 2: just bouncing. Scarlet, Scarlet had the best attitude of all
- 48:48Speaker 2: time and was crushing it. Jill packed for an apocalypse,
- 48:55Speaker 2: which you know, I don't blame her, and so it
- 48:58Speaker 2: took me five to five trips to get everything, and
- 49:02Speaker 2: of course our parking spot that we got because we
- 49:06Speaker 2: got one of the last rooms at the hotel. It's
- 49:08Speaker 2: one of those where the parking garage is underneath the building.
- 49:11Speaker 2: We're on floor five, and so I'm taking this luggage
- 49:15Speaker 2: cart from floor five all the way up. There's thousands
- 49:19Speaker 2: of people and dogs in that. Each elevator ride while
- 49:22Speaker 2: I'm clicking the button is taking at least four to
- 49:26Speaker 2: five minutes for the elevator to even get to your floor,
- 49:30Speaker 2: and then you pack in with all these dogs and stuff.
- 49:32Speaker 2: The entire time, I'm just like, good, this is great.
- 49:36Speaker 2: I'm having the time of my life. I'm so happy. Yeah,
- 49:39Speaker 2: and everything's good. And as soon like it was truly
- 49:44Speaker 2: a movie scene. As soon as I have the very
- 49:48Speaker 2: final load, we have her bassinet, we have her play mat.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Jill has two suitcases. I have a suitcase. We got
- 49:56Speaker 2: the dogs stuff, we got the dog food, and I'm
- 49:59Speaker 2: coming with the final load. And as I'm opening up
- 50:02Speaker 2: the door, I feel on my phone and the noise
- 50:05Speaker 2: that it makes. The nanet app has like a specific tone,
- 50:10Speaker 2: and I was like, that was the nant. I was like,
- 50:13Speaker 2: that would only go off if we had power. And
- 50:15Speaker 2: then my phone starts going me, Me, Me. Jared Bemon Demon,
- 50:19Speaker 2: who works here at Bustin lives two blocks from me,
- 50:23Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, we one have power. That's what
- 50:27Speaker 2: he's calling me about answering it. He's like, do my
- 50:29Speaker 2: neighbors just sext me? He said, they just got power.
- 50:33Speaker 2: I literally have that like luggage on my shoulder. I'm
- 50:38Speaker 2: standing like in the opening of the hotel. I just go, honey,
- 50:41Speaker 2: we have power.
- 50:44Speaker 3: I want that work.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I was happy. I was very happy. But I was like,
- 50:49Speaker 2: we have power. I'm gonna go check our house and
- 50:52Speaker 2: make sure that our heat is going blah blah blah.
- 50:56Speaker 3: She's like, while you're at the house.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Can you grab the other I was like, yes, just
- 51:00Speaker 2: me a text, whatever you need, I'll grab it. And
- 51:03Speaker 2: I also know that the right thing to do is
- 51:05Speaker 2: to go check on Jared's house because Jared's and Franklin
- 51:08Speaker 2: and an Airbnb and he has a two wheel drive,
- 51:11Speaker 2: you know car. So I'm like and I called Jared
- 51:15Speaker 2: and I'm like, hey, Jared, do you have a high
- 51:16Speaker 2: to key. I'll go check your house, YadA YadA, And yeah,
- 51:21Speaker 2: both of our houses were fine and I get to
- 51:23Speaker 2: move into my house later today, which is sick. Hey,
- 51:26Speaker 2: big round of applause. Just you know, we made it.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Made it. They're still surviving. Oh no, it's okay. We
- 51:37Speaker 3: got to the road.
- 51:41Speaker 4: So we've been getting notification. Shout out to the Ring.
- 51:43Speaker 4: If you're not on Ring, it's the best. Yeah, there's
- 51:46Speaker 4: it's so stupid. The road literally two roads behind us.
- 51:50Speaker 4: The CBS has on just got power right now, and
- 51:53Speaker 4: so I am praying.
- 51:55Speaker 3: That means that you are next praying.
- 51:57Speaker 4: So we I just alerted Cat of that, but we
- 52:00Speaker 4: are going to a friends after the episode. If not,
- 52:03Speaker 4: we're oping. We also just foundt home Chef's getting delivered today.
- 52:06Speaker 4: I don't know how the fuck it's getting delivered today,
- 52:07Speaker 4: but it's coming. So we'll cook it over the fire.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Hey snaps to put some positive energy into the universe
- 52:14Speaker 2: for power at Derek's house.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Hey, it's moments like these that you are able to
- 52:19Speaker 1: look back on with your with your wife, with your
- 52:22Speaker 1: significant other, whoever, your partners in crime, with your kiddos,
- 52:25Speaker 1: whatever it is, you're able to look back and recall
- 52:28Speaker 1: on these memories where you guys were all embracing the
- 52:30Speaker 1: suck as hard as it gets at times, or as
- 52:33Speaker 1: annoying as it can be. Like, there's only so much
- 52:36Speaker 1: I can put into playing bear in the house where
- 52:40Speaker 1: Rue goes with a flashlight finds me, and I'm the
- 52:42Speaker 1: bear and I have to crawl on my hands at knee.
- 52:44Speaker 1: She loves bear and where I'm crawling on my hands
- 52:46Speaker 1: and knees to go attack her and do everything else
- 52:49Speaker 1: to where I'm like, hey, we should both have flashlights
- 52:51Speaker 1: and let's just go pretend to find bears together so
- 52:53Speaker 1: that I can stand because my knees are bleeding right now.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I want to find a bear with you. You please.
- 52:58Speaker 1: But these are the times where you look back and back, Hey,
- 53:00Speaker 1: we made it, you know, we grinted it out through this.
- 53:03Speaker 1: We're better from it. We learned lessons, Yeah, better, better
- 53:07Speaker 1: ways to prepare. Because again, my two bags of salt
- 53:10Speaker 1: that I ran out of that I used on like
- 53:12Speaker 1: day one, so everybody says salt before the snow comes,
- 53:16Speaker 1: like it wasn't. Day two came and when the slush happened.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Then that froze over. I'm like, oh there ain't no,
- 53:21Speaker 1: I need more. I need to find more salt. I
- 53:23Speaker 1: don't know if you put salt on after the fact.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I think it helps a little bit, but just to
- 53:27Speaker 1: start breaking it up a little bit. But it's having
- 53:30Speaker 1: equipping myself with more bags of salt. I was every
- 53:33Speaker 1: night before we go to bed, I drip every faucet,
- 53:37Speaker 1: Open up the cabinets, shout out deep, saying that last week,
- 53:40Speaker 1: open up the cabinets below.
- 53:42Speaker 6: Well, the part of freezing pipes is not when it
- 53:45Speaker 6: gets cold, it's when it warms back up. So make
- 53:47Speaker 6: sure you keep doing that as it gets warm.
- 53:49Speaker 3: So even as it gets warm mixture, that's that's.
- 53:52Speaker 6: When pipes will burst. It's not when it gets cold.
- 53:54Speaker 6: That's when it starts expanding. And then that's gotcha got
- 53:57Speaker 6: so keep it keeping, Yeah, keep all your prep and stuff,
- 54:01Speaker 6: and then just pray because it's it's now. My mom
- 54:04Speaker 6: works in insurance, so she's like thousands of calls right now.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Oh I'm sure, bro, I'm sure every company that has
- 54:10Speaker 1: to do with this ice storm is their phones are
- 54:13Speaker 1: just blowing up.
- 54:14Speaker 3: Yeah, with everything going on.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, whether it's electricity, whether it's Internet, whether it's insurance,
- 54:20Speaker 1: whether it's anything.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Hey, freecare tree. Yeah, trees are all over the yards,
- 54:24Speaker 3: all over yards.
- 54:25Speaker 7: Bro.
- 54:26Speaker 2: This is landscape er roof for insurance. Super Bowl right now, Yeah,
- 54:30Speaker 2: super Bowl very close.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Buddy of mine has a tree care business.
- 54:34Speaker 6: If you're in Nashville area, Painless tree care, quick shout
- 54:36Speaker 6: out because they are come full time operating that he's
- 54:39Speaker 6: about to Uh, this is a terrible tragedy, but he's
- 54:42Speaker 6: going to have a good week terms of actually, probably.
- 54:44Speaker 2: He gonna have a good year, buddy, He's gonna make
- 54:48Speaker 2: his his year.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Lumps. There's trees down everywhere.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Man, Oh yeah, I feel like again, we're like again
- 54:56Speaker 1: we had a power line go down. But we're way
- 54:58Speaker 1: luckier than a lot of this stuff I I've seen
- 55:00Speaker 1: around the city in Nashville.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Oh dude, there's one.
- 55:03Speaker 1: There's one massive tree in the front yard that's like
- 55:05Speaker 1: leaning that we're hoping just doesn't fall and take out
- 55:08Speaker 1: a power line and kind of land on the our
- 55:10Speaker 1: neighbor's driveway. But other than that, a lot of our debris,
- 55:14Speaker 1: like in the middle of the yard, in the backyard,
- 55:16Speaker 1: around that fence, around that fence now and again one
- 55:19Speaker 1: tree is like hanging over to where the power line
- 55:21Speaker 1: is doing like a v right now. Did you guys
- 55:23Speaker 1: see the viral video of West Haven. It's a community
- 55:27Speaker 1: in Franklin.
- 55:27Speaker 6: I think it was like Clay Travis or someone posted it,
- 55:29Speaker 6: but it's he's driving through and it looks like a
- 55:33Speaker 6: tornado ripped through.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Yeah, like it apocalyptic if.
- 55:36Speaker 2: You showed that Clay Travis video. Yeah, okay, like that
- 55:42Speaker 2: one yard where the tree has completely ripped out. We
- 55:46Speaker 2: had like six of those in just our neighborhood. Like
- 55:51Speaker 2: like your neighborhood had it work, Yeah, my neighborhood had
- 55:54Speaker 2: it words but like truly, like, as I'm watching that,
- 55:57Speaker 2: people are like, this is so sad, and I'm broll.
- 56:00Speaker 2: That doesn't even show the full extent. And I saw
- 56:03Speaker 2: people in the comments being like, yeah, that's like that's
- 56:07Speaker 2: in my front yard right now.
- 56:08Speaker 3: That's not even the worst. That's just in a corner
- 56:10Speaker 3: of my backyard.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Truly, it felt like, no, my situation is way worse, dude,
- 56:18Speaker 2: you don't get it. But yeah, I texted my landlord too.
- 56:22Speaker 2: I forgot to text my landlord and she had reached
- 56:26Speaker 2: out to me. I was like, apologies, your house is fine,
- 56:30Speaker 2: no dream lands spell. She's like, I assume, so I
- 56:34Speaker 2: assume that you would have reached out. I was like, yes, absolutely,
- 56:37Speaker 2: your house is good. Really quick before we get into
- 56:44Speaker 2: comments and all that good, we got a right yeah.
- 56:47Speaker 1: You know, yeah, you can tell it's been a long
- 56:49Speaker 1: weekend for the boys. We haven't seen each other world.
- 56:51Speaker 1: We're all, yeah, well, getting stuff off her chest, storytelling.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Do we want to do a.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Crack a cold one to get a little positive?
- 57:00Speaker 1: Would love to do a cracker cole one? Yeah, lollipop
- 57:03Speaker 1: essentially the Shirley Temple two and Derek, I'll tell you this.

- 57:07Speaker 1: case we had to zoom and do our podcast from
- 57:09Speaker 1: home today.
- 57:10Speaker 3: I stared at this thing so many different times and
- 57:12Speaker 3: want to drink it. Jamee.
- 57:14Speaker 1: This is before I made the crisp Bapple and Watermelon Lion,
- 57:17Speaker 1: Like when I was just running on Classic Grape. I'm
- 57:19Speaker 1: just staring at the solo Shirley Temple and I'm just
- 57:22Speaker 1: telling myself, I can't drink this because we're gonna need
- 57:24Speaker 1: the can.
- 57:25Speaker 3: I'm gonna need to drink it if we do.

- 58:42Speaker 3: Charl wanted to move around. I needed to move around.
- 58:44Speaker 1: We got this new we got a different mattress in
- 58:46Speaker 1: our new house, and I'm telling you right now it's.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Not good for the low back.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Oh no, my low back is Legitimately it's starting to
- 58:53Speaker 1: starting to bother me in a way to where I'm like,
- 58:54Speaker 1: here we fucking go again. But anyway, we did this
- 58:57Speaker 1: little mobility yoga workout with the kid in there as well.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Rue wanted to work out. By Rue wanting to work out.
- 59:02Speaker 1: It was due a couple of things for a couple
- 59:04Speaker 1: of minutes and be like, I need some milk. Where's
- 59:08Speaker 1: Dan Gable when you need I'm trying to hit it
- 59:11Speaker 1: with Dan Gable quotes, just realizing she ain't built for
- 59:14Speaker 1: the a gap right now. Scotty's just rolling around like
- 59:16Speaker 1: we got our blocks, Like I got two blocks.
- 59:18Speaker 3: Trol has two blocks. I want to say Rue might
- 59:20Speaker 3: have had two blocks.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Scotty picks up one of Rue's blocks and rugs like
- 59:24Speaker 1: just sighways and sweetheart, we don't need the blocks right now,
- 59:27Speaker 1: Like they're just sitting there for us. Scotty's got my
- 59:29Speaker 1: block and we're trying to do We're going through this yoga,
- 59:32Speaker 1: breath work stretches, trying to get some mobility in the spine.
- 59:36Speaker 1: And every parent knows, like when you're trying to work
- 59:38Speaker 1: out and your little kiddos are around, like there's just you're.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Like operate with them.
- 59:41Speaker 1: You're like trying to lay and do all this stuff
- 59:43Speaker 1: and Scotty's like climbing on me and you're trying to
- 59:46Speaker 1: get it done. But that's what my Kraker cole one
- 59:47Speaker 1: goes to is the moment of my wife getting us
- 59:50Speaker 1: to do a yoga workout.
- 59:51Speaker 3: Oh I love that shout out Bar three two no
- 59:54Speaker 3: free shout outs.
- 59:55Speaker 6: I wanted to ask you because I've been on a
- 59:56Speaker 6: fitness skick and I'm looking for stuff to do. I
- 59:59Speaker 6: found that, like sports, the reason I didn't work out
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: for four years is I don't have someone pushing me
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: to finding that self belief. I want to try like
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: a bar three or something like that, because I heard
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: those things kick your ass.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: They got a lot of good like online videos and
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: classes that you can follow online or they might just
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: have them. The classes readily available online. Yeah, you go
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: in and you can rip one of those they do.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: I mean, it's just it's it's different than what men
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: are used to doing, which is ass to grass, weight
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: on your back, weigh in your hands, all this stuff.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: You'll be holding four pound dumb bells. You'll be putting
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: the dumb bells down because these women just beat your
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: ass with their little pulses and like holding all these
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: little stances, you'll be sweating, your legs will be shaking
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: like a dog shitting peach seeds, and you won't know
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: what to do.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: I'm on a journey also golf golf sicco here to
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: become a single digital handicap.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: And so those are like muscles.
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: Yeah, you need to build. I want to gain some distance.
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: I want to get like a three fifteen carry because
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: I'm young. I want to bomb the ball. Yeah, those
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: are all I'm now. I'm looking for new ways.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: I'm like, how do I those little muscles they I
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: was about to say, they get you with all the
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: hinging and like hip flexer lower back like that. That
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: would be the way to do it. That'd be the
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: way to do it.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll get stuck in.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, come on, uh crack crack a cold one.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I have written down my power is back on, but
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: that's not too exciting because we've already talked about it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I would say crack a cold one just goes to
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: seeing everyone in the office and seeing everyone in the
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: greater natural area, being so happy to help, so happy
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: to assist, seeing people's stories of Hey, we have our
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: house is available, we have a backhouse, we have firewood.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: We if anybody needs a ride, we're walking to come
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: record this. And Ryan Uh, two time employee of the
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Month here Lesson Uh pulls up with JP and Coop
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: in the back of his car, and I'm just like, dude,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: I just love seeing that kind of stuff, just like
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: the community coming together. Nashville is already a great community,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: but it's really cool to see it in person until
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I see that physical manifestation of it.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: So shout out to good people being good people.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Yeah, man, drink, I'll drink to that. Hey, I'll really
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: temple lollipop to that. Will gladly drink to that. All right,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: we have a lot of we a lot of write
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: ends this week that we can get to.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: We we just skipped over. Apologies. I'm sure the listeners
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: will understand. They understand, and we had a lot to
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: get off our chest except for a couple.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: There's a couple of haters out there. We got another hater,
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: dads at the roads. We should start with that. Yeah,
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: all right, so we had a uh, we had another
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: hater Phoenix.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: You're not alone brother uncle Jack, which is tough chef Jack.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Like this name Jack. It doesn't represent relations. Jack Dentz
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: tweets this was.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: This was yesterday, right earlier in the day, yesterday after
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: the Matt Liner.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: CLIs was after Yeah, we had posted you had talked
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: about last week about Matt Liner. Matt quote tweeted it
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: with a beautiful paragraph like it was a really cool moment.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: This was a direct correlation to you guys having a
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: nice moment about being dads.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Mmm. Yeah.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Would shout out Matt Liner for for quote tweeting and
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: then shouting out for the dads as well. We'd love
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: to have Matt Liner on. This comes from Jack Dentz
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: tweets Yes, Dada do. It's something I've been asking for
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: ever since.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: The kid was born. Please give me more.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Multi millionaire media personalities that share their families victories. It's
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: entirely uplifting and doesn't need to stay private in the least.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: More videos and photos they're better.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: I forgot about the more videos and photos.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: And to think too, he said, since this kid was born,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: I think he's a he's a he's a father.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: This is a pt sicco acting like a toddler. Oh no,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: it's a pt sicico. Oh he's not a pt sico.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: He's not a pt. He doesn't represent. He's just a dad.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: He's just a hat dad that floating in the ether.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Maybe his powers out. I have no clue, but some negativity, yeah,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: yeah in his heart, some hate in his heart that
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: feels the need to say, oh, we don't need more
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: family victories from multi millionaires.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: I just what do we do?
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I love that aspect of it, because if you get
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: on Facebook or my Facebook, it's just littered with family
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: updates essentially, like that's all it is. And I just
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: laughed at myself when I initially read that tweet and said, oh,
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I forgot that when you make a lot of money,
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: you didn't you can't post about your family anymore.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: That's the new rule. Yeah.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: I already hate you for making a lot of money,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: and now that I have a kid, and you have
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: a kid. I hate that you are now sharing a
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: success or victories of trying to be a parent, that
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: you feel the way I feel when having a good
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: moment with your kid. Yeh, don't be a human being, dude, Yeah,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: don't be a human being.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Uncle Jack.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Here, he's having a tantrum online. He is, and he's lucky.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: He's lucky my internet was out because I would have had
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: to tuck him in. You don't want to see family victories. Okay, fine,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: let me show you a couple of my personal ones.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I would have tucked him in in the guest room, yeah,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: where some of my accolades hang up, and I would
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: have laid him to the site. I would have been like.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: It would have been dark in the room, and I
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: would just flicker. I would have just pushed the flashlight.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: The flash I would have came on and be like, Okay,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: let's talk about my victories.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: You see that game ball from the New York Giants
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: back in twenty twenty, Yeah, four tackles on special teams.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Hey, you see that Washington Commander's Cup that you received
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: for playing ten years in the League.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: League, did you, Jack? Did you get a cup? From Washington. Oh, Jack,
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: do you need extra kisses? You need you need extra
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: kisses before you go nine nine? Uncle Jack needs more
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: love in his life, he does.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: It pains me when I see people project like that online.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Dad, pains me. I did. Maybe I'll still tuck
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: him in.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I held off because I mean, commander of the pants.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: By the way, he's in full general stand on the
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: He's a true PT six commander outfit. I held off
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: because I was like, I'll let will lead. But I
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: did have to reply, just get in the fight. If
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: there's a PT sixer out there, you don't need the
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: green light.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: If you if you want to like make people, you
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: want to make us a wear and make us aware.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: But listen, if we got to mobilize the military, we
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: got to mobilize the military.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: If I'm on the internet, you're the next guy in charge.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Well and I and so what I did is I
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: played it safe. I played it smart. And I said,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna do a little inside joke here because the
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: pt sikos are gonna know what I'm talking about. And
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: I replied, Phoenix, is that you got a bunch of likes?
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: I was like, okay, good, that one people are in
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: on the joke. Yeah, people are in on the joke.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: And then Derek, he.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Said, multiple tweets atvy.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: That you and I said, nothing screams Phoenix like retweeting
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: your own post. Because if he goes to this guy's feed,
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: every single post he tweets out, he retweets from his
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: thing and so gott.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Gotta get this, gotta get the stabs, he replied.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Instantly, he said, or having a Putts name like Deek,
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: and then that's been seen by twenty three whole people.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: Then a second later he tweets again, it's about the algorithm.
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: Settled down Deeke with a face, rolling his eyes, and
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: then he said another one at Shirm.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Specifically, Oh I did what did he say?
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: He said, Uh, it was just a gift and it
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: says good one oh to my your thing.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: Yeah it was. It was one of the ways.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: And I texted you guys, I said, fish on because
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: I hoped you had internet at that point. Yeah, this
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: guy to send two at me. I sat there and
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: waited to see if he was going to retweet those tweets.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: He did not yet, So this guy, he's just having
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: a tough time. He's probably not the best, you know guy. Yeah,
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: so he's just like, you know what, Will doesn't get
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: to play ten years and have a Washington Cup and
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: have a beautiful No, I'm taking this out.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: No, dude, cause that would just that would be too unfair.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: That'd be too I did because I saw everybody and
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: my mentions too, like I was obviously mobilizing a targeted
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: attack on at and tea and I see everybody when
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I'm talking about the Internet being out, like get starlink.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I did make a run to home depot last night
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: and got my hands on a starlink.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: So I was like, how do we do this thing?
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: I'm like, I have no clue.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I was like, let's just read the box, good step
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: by step process on how to get it. And I
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: haven't just sitting out right now by the pool, just
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: in the in the ice, like in the snow, just
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: sitting out by the pool pointing up to the sky.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: It's like, get spot where there's not a lot of
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: trees or buildings around, or.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Up on a roof if you can. I can't get
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: my ass up on a roof right now. So I'm
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: just sitting there. And then I'm sitting there with.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: My app the starlink ap and it's like, okay, let's
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: navigate to see if it's in a good spot. I'm
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: like doing the entire sky, following all the dodgs to
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: where it green lights and I hit okay, and it's
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: like bad signal.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: It's just gonna have to work.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I got the wire running from the from the back,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: from the back porch out to the out to work
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: and just sit up set up by the pool. But
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: I got you know, I got trees all around in
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the backyard, the house sitting right behind it.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: I just got it sitting there pointing up to this
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: guy another. But it's work.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Like it's worked enough to where I was able to
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: get back online a little bit.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, enough to get in the trenches and
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: walk somebody.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Because even the stress of obviously in my personal selfish
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: world of just wanting the internet, whether it's for gooning
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: over the weekend, which we didn't get to play any
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: video games, watching movies or TV. Because there's a thought too,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: when you're barricaded in the house, it's like rules are off,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: rules are off, Like, hey, let's watch some movies together.
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: Root can have a little bit more screen time.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Yeah, we're barricaded in this house and we're gonna like,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: you know, we got the frozen foods to heat up
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: pizza or pizza rolls. I'm introducing pizza rolls in a
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Rou's life.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: She loves them.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and uh, you know, you're thinking about all
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: these family moments you're gonna have, like, hey, we're gonna
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: be ice dand school is gonna be canceled, you know,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: all the fun that comes with being in a storm
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: and not being able to go anywhere. So when the
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: internet's off, per I'm like, all this sucks. But having
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: like an internet business, the trying to communicate with everybody
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: on what the schedule is going to be, but also
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: for Charro like operating bar three and like canceling classes
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: and communicating with their team.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: One of her team members is in a hotel, but
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: the hotel didn't have Wi Fi.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Just team members kind of scattered throughout Nashville, Like it's
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: everything going to be She needs access to the Internet
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: to run her business now. So it was just it
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: was not having the AT and T really just chapped
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: our asses and put a wrench in the whole thing.
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: People don't like Internet's one of those things that once
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: you do lose it. Same with like power, it's like
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: you know the old saying of like oh you don't
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: need it like we used to do. It's like no,
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: now that life is like I remember twenty twenty one
- 1:10:40Speaker 6: Christmas Day if all the AT and T users when
- 1:10:42Speaker 6: that car bomb went off, Like that sucked, I said,
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: at home, and it's like it's not fun like and.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Again also too, it's like we were a bunch of reading.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: There's a bunch of quiet times, a bunch of like hey,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: let's play games, like like cooking and cleaning up, Like
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: the kids are always wanting snacks or food of some
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: sort at any time of the day. And we're also
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: just not like employees to where we might hear something
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: about okay, we don't have to go in, or we're
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: just like, hey, it's going to be too bad outside,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: we're just gonna not go in, and hey we're barricaded in.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Like we're also running teams to where you have to
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: communicate outwardly with people to kind of get a schedule.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: Check and make sure everybody's all right. Like all these
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: things going on.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: So when the internet was out, I was like, man,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: this is this is we got to find a way
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: to get some type of internet to get at and
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: t back online handling a tech coming out, or when
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: we were able to get out of the house, like
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: go and get our hands like a starlink, So that way,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: it's like at home today, I had to go and
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: pick up our childcare at seven thirty in the morning,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: drive her to our house because her car was stuck
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: in a parking lot because she tried getting out the
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: day before, sliding around everywhere, so her vehicle's just stuck
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: in the parking lot. She had to walk back home,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: and so I pick her up, bring her to the house,
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: or the star link with the bad signal at least
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: set up so Chark can get some work done. But yeah,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: the internet going down was just it's not like we
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: just got to sit with her, you know, shit on
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: our hands.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: We had to like we like figure it out a
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: little bit.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, starlink would have been another great scene in that
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: documentary I pitched earlier. I again just would have loved
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: to see you walking aimlessly in your backyard.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: You're like walking through in a buddy of mine that
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: I'm texting with because he reached out to me. You
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: put in like a over a decade of time shut
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: out bringing wisdom with AT and T. And within fifteen
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: minutes of my video going out, he texts me and
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: he's like, uh, I message to the CEO and president
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: AT and T. Are you still without Internet? I'm like, yeah,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: We've been out for like thirty hours. And he's like,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: do you have access to a starlink? I'm like, I
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: just got my hands on one. He's like the con
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: and like he's like, you're gonna have to get it
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: on a roof. I'm like on a roof and we're
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: like laughing. I ain't got to get up on the
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: roof with all the ice out there. And so I'm
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: just walking through how I can get this starlink set up.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, where's the most sky visibility round
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: my house? And I'm just walking outside with just T
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: shirt on and then these pants and boots and just
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: like sitting down and like looking up at the sky.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: And I'm like, all right, sweet, you got the app downloaded?
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Because she was like, can you just download the app?
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't have data. I'm not able to
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I don't have internet. She downloads and I'm like looking
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: on the app and she's you know, you got to
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: go outside, and it's like scan the sky.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: I'm just out.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Oh my god, dots as connection. Let's you see if
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: it works.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: Let's run it again. Let's run it again. Charle, get
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: on my shoulders. Really you hold it up there to
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: get up there. So we gotta get it on the roof.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: We get the ladder, get Scotty, slide the room, Scottie,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: climb up there.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: You got it, You got it.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Oh my god, dude, I what was I think?
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: The other thing that just made me laugh so hard
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: was how correct at and T came on Twitter, like
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: knowing what Will did to Expedia two years ago. In
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: At and T, he replies in one minute, it's like, hey,
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: fifty one, how's it going, man?
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: I hope you get Hey. We gonna take care of you. Man,
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: we love you, We love you. Five to one.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, what did I say? I'm hearing that
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: it's two weeks. Surely you can help.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Surely you can do a little bit better than this.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, And it's like send me.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: The DM or whatever it was. But then I was
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: already gung home and whatnot. They were all make a
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: little entertaining video about fear. Yeah, because by the time
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I put that out, I was already on their website
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: looking up their four values.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I was looking up their core values and purpose statement.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: I told I told our family friends that we're staying
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: with about your Expedia thing.
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: Dude. They were bawling. They're like, they have any.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: Other places like come up in the office. I was like, well,
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: the Chipotle by the office needs to, like they're riding
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: the line right now. Yeah, they mess over, will it
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: won't be good because they've already messed over the office.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: But John I got out. She was in one of
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: her bar three studios. I was sitting out because Rue
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: was napping in the truck. Core value and so I'm
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: sitting out there with Charles checking on the Internet and
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: everything going on with their studios. Once we got out yesterday,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: and I'm sitting there and I'm like, oh, this is
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: a perfect time because I have service now, and I'm
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: just on the AT and T website like screenshot and
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: looking up their core values their purpose statement. But together,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: oh yeah, this will be a great talking about customer
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: first service, talking about a move faster.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Act boldly.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Send one of your texts out there to boldly get
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: their little ass on the telephone.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: Bullet fixed the power line.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Honey, Scotty threw up pizza.
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: Get what second? Making a video? Give me a minute, Hey, Rue,
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: come out here, hold the phone.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Their purpose statement was like, what is it connecting people
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: to greater possibilities? Oh?
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: And I'm like, you're connecting to a possibility and my
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: foot up your ass for CEO Texas.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: When I'm texting with my boy too, I'm like, he's like,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: she's responding, They're embarrassed, blah blah blah. I'm like, let
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: them let him know my humor of everything as well.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: Wow, there's a CEO in Malabi right now on the
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: edge of the sore.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: He put a video mine. He says, she's seen it.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: She's connecting to a senior vice president right now in
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: the area.
- 1:16:26Speaker 6: Some mid level executive AT and T is having these
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: shittiest Tuesday in their life right now trying to figure
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: out how to get Will Compton's AT and T service
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: and Wi Fi back up before.
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: He continues to post on the internet.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Expedio is trending number one on Twitter for a day
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: a how terrible they were because of this man, you
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: do everything in your power to get at and d
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: back to this guy's house.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: I mean, truly, if it gives you any credence. I've
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: been on storm response social media teams in my past.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: You are like guys like me's worst fucking nightmares. We
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: are sitting there and I'm thinking, like, here's little Derek,
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: no callous hands, Like I'm not out there, but I'm like, daddy,
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: Daddy da, Like, we'll be there in a minute, send
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: us your info. And then here comes somebody with a
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: large following. He's like, hey, what the fuck's going on?
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: And everyone in that buildings like.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Is will Cod Like shit, this dude's got a lot
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: of followers. It's like the influencers of the world that
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: actually say something because they're responding, hey, d MS.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: People might have like a lower follower counter.
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: Went off their page, they say to dm us because
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: they don't want you to send it to the masses.
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: They want it very localized. And you said, yeah, I.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Should have said at the end too, because on Expedia,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: like when I did the first video on Expedia and
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I was like, you got twenty fours to respond, Like,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: while I'm sipping wine trying to create an Italian experience
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: because we were supposed to.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Be in Italy already. Oh my god. But the Expedia
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: one was crazy.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: That's where we got there. We had our flight info,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: we had everything. We went to check in. They're like, oh,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: we don't have you in the computers, like here's our
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: ticket right here, Like here's a seat we're on, here's everything.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Well, and Expedia was basically calling you a liar at
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: one point, like they were like it was.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: Something like, yeah, you're not in our system.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: And we were like, dude, bullshit, like here's the confirmation,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: here's everything. Yeah, because we went through the third party,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: everybody's like, oh, you used Expedia and YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: I don't think I got no clue. It's like, it's
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: how we booked, it's how the wife he booked it.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Not to throw her under the bus because I'm thinking
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: the same thing, yeah, book booked his travel Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: you know, it's we weren't privy to having, whether it's
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: travelation or going through the sites themselves. Again, a learning
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: experience of like, you know.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: People were going after you for the Expedia thay.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: I know we're going off on a tangent, but I
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: agree with you that I don't think that's a crazy
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: thought to go through any type of Travelocity, Expedia to
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: be able to bundle hotels, bodies.
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: He's always been great priceline.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I've always used a traveling to Nebraska and Missouri back
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: when I was in college. Yeah, finding deals where you
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: can find deals. But that day we were in the
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: airport for like four hours and I'm just got ruined
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: the stroller this one. She's like, you know, I'm gonna
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: butcher the age she was a little but I got
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: our sleep and she's having fun. But you know, it's
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: just like supposed to be in the hear to Italy.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: We're not in the flight, we're not in any of
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the travel information. So we're having to go back home
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: and sort it out to figure out are we even
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: gonna be able to get to Italy for our trip? Yeah,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: and that's we spent like thousands of dollars to.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: Go there, and we're not oh yeah in the here
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: right now to go to to go to uh to
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: go to Italy.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: That that might need to be our new whenever we
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: refer to our kids in the past, and instead of
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: saying their age, that was back when she was.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Little, little little that might have to be a rear
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: view mirror with Beamon Relive in the Expedia moment.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: Oh, that would be a really good one. That's that's
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: we got to get back on track. We got to
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: keep it under an hour, have to.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: We have some new dads, new dad comments. I got
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: one here from our our mccollan. Yeah, Ur McCollen hns
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: on Spotify again. Spotify comments. You guys know, I'm obsessed
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: with Spotify comments right now. We had like what when
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: I checked last week, within like the first forty eight hours,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: like over one hundred and fifty Shout out everybody, the
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: community growing on Spotify.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Come on, come on this one again. My brother in
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: law and I are both.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: High school basketball coaches, different schools, going head to head
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: tomorrow night. Box of diapers on the line, Stay tuned, dude,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: shout out. That's some good competitive PT six lore right there.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: And not only that, Will that is actually Ryan McCullen,
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: the exact same Ryan McCullen that called in with the
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: Oreo debacle on one of our previous episodes. That's him
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: and his baby was either delivered right now as we're
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: recording this or tomorrow when the sod comes out.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Oh, it's amazing.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: He is like new dad, new Dad.
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: One of the odds there would be another Armicle. We
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: don't have verification that that is him, but we're German.
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: As a note about it, Ryan mccollin, who is the
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: Oreo guy. You have a note about armiciclean in yours.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: We are assuming they're the same person. Yeah, it feels
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: pretty good about it. Okay, I love it though. I
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: love him and his brother in law. Like, this is
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: a family competition right here. Winner of this game. This
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: is diapers. We got diapers on the line.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, So if that is you, Ryan, you
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: are a true Siico. And also congratulations to you and
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: WiFi and we hope that everything went well during delivery.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: I have Michael Suke four six y five to four
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: on YouTube. He said, boys been listening since day one.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: Since then we found out that we are expecting in April.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: The baby prep is in full swing and I look
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: forward to this every week to help my dad prep
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: three months to go. Wife is nesting and the projects
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: are piling up. Good renovation, kitchen.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: Good, nursery, build good. I'm fine lol.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Michael prayers dude, prayers up, he's in it. You did it,
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: and just keep knocking out those projects.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Yeah and I again, the good mentality's got to be
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: at the top of top of the brain, top of
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: the brain.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: Have to anytime she brings up a new project, you
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: say that we've needed to do that for years. Let's
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: go knock it out right now today, right now, I'll
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: go get dressed.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: Good power goes out in Nashville. Good stuck in the house.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Good power's out at the house. Good generator kicks on.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: Good it's flickering, lights are going out. You're you're in
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: a little bit of a band of good. Let's figure
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: it out, let's solve it. English bulldog won't go outside
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: to shit because it's too cold and there's ice on
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: the ground. Good shot in the house, really good, even better,
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: it's really good. Last time we were about to go
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: to bed and Waffle's got eight different spots that Waffle
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: dropped all over the house, living room, by the bathroom,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: by the door, in the kitchen. I'm thinking, how in
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: the hell did Waffle sneak this around us?
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: I stepped in it? Good God, oh man.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: This one's from Justin Goodman on Spotify, Willi and Shrham.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: I've drunk allipop, I bought the merch, I've taken out
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: the trash, I've enjoyed every Pizza Friday, and I've done
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: my best to raise my seven month old little girl, Parker.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: I can agree with almost everything on this show, with
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: the exception that the automatic booger sucker is a gift
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: from God. Little Parker needs to be put in a
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: full nelson, one leg over her chest and two hands
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: holding her head in place to make it work. It's
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Guantanamo torture to her. Be careful, Willie, Hey, I know,
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: I'm happy to hear that, because last night again, like
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: after we played outside on Saturday, Yeah, Scotty was catching
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: like a running nose and stuff. He knows Booger's coming
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: out everywhere all the time. So we had to use
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: the snotsucker over the weekend. And damn it, bro I
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: still haven't gotten.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: The automotive atomac one. Yeah, and I'm.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Thinking to myself, Oh, this is one where I've like
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: you just it's on the docket to get, but I
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: haven't put the intention behind it to actually buy the
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: automatic sknock sucker. So we had to use the manual
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: one again and again to my man's point, Guantanamo torture.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Like I'm sitting there holding their little arms down, wedging
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: her head in between my forums.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: The holder still lost.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: She just screamed, oh yeah, we just had the automatic Snotsucker,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: our life would be good.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: But truth right here, it just doesn't work. It might
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: not work that way.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: Well, and it's the it's the Indian, not the arrow,
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: as they say, like some kids might you know, just
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: hate no matter what's going on. But the only thing
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: that I will say is it takes one hand and
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: one step out of the process. So now that full
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: nelson that you have to do is it's a little
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: bit easier to do the full nelson because you're not
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: also having to as you're doing you got two hands.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Yeah, not running out of breath because it is a
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: two man job with the manual. Stocksucker own Scottie, Oh
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: for sure, I'll pick her up trying to.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: Mess with her. She's like reaching up over my head,
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: like grabbing my hair. Yeah, she's a fighter.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Well and I was a bit of a used car salesman.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: As far as the automatic SnO, Sucker goes of saying like.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: Oh, Scarlet loves it. She does love it.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: But I do have my moments where you gotta get
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: the trick is getting their head right in this.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Elbow right here.
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so now they're trapped right there. Now, automatic snotsuckers
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: in here. We're not leaning on baby. You know, we're
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: not crushing baby. But we just got baby right here.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: I'm probably holding onto both arms with this hand right here. Okay,
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Yeah, And just like protecting the football, you got three
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: points of contact established.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and if you if you want to add
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: that fourth point of contact, if you're an absolute sicko,
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: throw throw the chin in there. It's just an option.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: It's just an option. I'm not a professional.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: That's game.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: Jacob Simpson eight five four zero on YouTube, he said, sorry, Shuram,
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: did you say bear or pear?
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: So we're at it. We're at it again. We're at
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: it again.
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: I gotta get my b's and p's figure it out, dude.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: And I'm sure that people listening to this right now
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: just heard me say p's and p's or be's and bees,
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: because I apparently I can't differentiate.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: What's the emoji? This week, they We're gonna rock. You
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: saw a lot of in the list I sent you? Oh,
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: did you send me a list of B and P?
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: No, I offer you a list you and chef a
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: list of fifty emojis that could be one thing or
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: another based off their title and so, I don't know,
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: there's a couple in there you might want. What are
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: some of the options? Peach and Beach was one in
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: their corn and horn bread and bed garlic and garments.
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: Some of these are a little loose geez and bees.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: So you know we're getting target, which.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: Is I don't know where they got that one. I
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: don't know what what should be the emoji. I thought
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: it was hilarious that everybody was throwing phoenixes around. By
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: the way, there was an emoji for phoenixes. Shout out
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: pt sikos for that.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I think a good emoji to use would be It's
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: almost like a signal to let the haters know that
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: do navigate into our comments section or want to, you know,
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: have a little bit of hate in their heart if
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: you want to project and post something. Yeah, yeah, but
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: it's just a reminder that the stock for for the
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: dads and PT six is up.
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: So what you're gonna do is you're going to go
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: into the emoji, the search bar of the emoji.
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: You're going to type in graph, use the ascension graph
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: like the stock is going up for the dads. Yeah,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: that's the emoji this week. And it couldn't be more true.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: Very rarely do you find a hater for the starting
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: quarterback of Western Kentucky.
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: If you find one, introduce me to them.
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: But there's gonna be a lot of haters of the
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: starting quarterback of USC, the starting quarterback of Ohio State.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: So the fact that we're getting haters.
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: Yeah, love it. Bring it on, We need it.
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: Also, maybe the mask, the sick emoji or the puke
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: the puke emoji dash oh sick.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Oh okay, So we got we got two that we
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: can be.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: Flirting with, two that we're flirting with. So say yours again?
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: Uh, the we'll do the puke emoji dash oh sickoh okay,
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: pukemoji dash zero?
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: Yeah? Wait dash oh not zero? Sounds like a pool.
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: Sounds like a pool, whichever one you guys like, born
- 1:28:13Speaker 6: just directly correlated.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: He loves the polls. That does sound like a pole.
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: Though I agree we should do We should do a poll.
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: All right, we got a uh.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: This is a hubby shout out from Maddy Oder.
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: I love these hey for the for the Dad's Team.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: I'm familiar with the pod because my husband often watches
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: and listens to it during our quality time on the weekend.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: I love that during our QT time, our quality time
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: on the weekend, he's ripping some for the dash.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: And Will is from our good old hometown of Bonta,
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Missouri's He's a well known name where we are from.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: I'm no empty siko, but I do sometimes join the
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: husband and watching the show.
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: This right here, Dave Oter.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: Shout out the boy, Dave od I'm assuming that is
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: who is writing in as his wife met the de
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: Voter stud.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: I know Dave Voter. I know Dave Voter. Hang on,
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: hang on, it's not David's Tyler. Okay, not Dave Voter. There,
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: Deave Voter in bontare great older family family.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: I'm messaging the shout out my amazing husband Tyler, father
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: to one and soon to be two in June. He's
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: the man that does it all for him, wake up
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: to work out eight plus hours of work in the
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: heat and cold to provide and still comes home to
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: change diapers, cook dinners, and be the teammate I've always
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: needed in my life. He's found a way to balance
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: it all, even if it's even if he's never read
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: a car seat manual dot Good. Good, Thanks Tyler for
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: being the amazing man that you are, and thanks for
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: for the dads for being the show.
- 1:29:45Speaker 3: He enjoys and can relate to. Mom hacked to dad's
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: do we go?
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: We got a mom hacked for dad's coming in and
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: she's saying she's not empty six. Yeah, she's trying to
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: play that all. Come on, little six, Hey, come on,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: research baby topics ahead of time at each stage in
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: their life. There's nothing more supportive than knowing that dad
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: already has a reach, a research based opinion on a
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: decision we need to make about the kiddos. Dash Mattie,
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: awesome shout out to Tyler. Also just a shoutout devoter.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: A shout out the older family.
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Great family that is a great mom hacked to dad's
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: though again, I feel like we allude to this any
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: dad as soon to be father mm hmm. It's just
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: getting some figuring out whatever baby topics you might be
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: into and hit out some research, but she goes even
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: farther research baby topics ahead of ahead of time at
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: each stage in their life.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: Also, that might be my favorite new kind of like
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: segment that we do on the show.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: Love the husband's shout outs, Love the hubby shotouts. Yeah,
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: those are awesome.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: I have David Nicole dash p five f on YouTube.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: He said, dad hack for the swaddle, Get the velcro
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: kind can wrap the little ones up quickly and effectively
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: before they even know what's going on. Cannot agree more,
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: especially in the early months, because it's all about speed
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: with the swaddle, all about all about speed when they're
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: a month old, because as soon as the cold airs
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: hitting them, as soon as something's different and I'm not
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: right here like this in cozy and warm, I'm crying,
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: doesn't matter. So the faster the better, I agreed. Velcrow
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: swaddle we used one as well, But no.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Matter what you're doing, slow until smooth, because smooth is
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: faster than speed.
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: Hey, is that dan Gable? We can say it is.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: It might as well might be Dangable. It might be
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: dan Gable. Also, I got a little bonus here. We
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: have a Reddit page that was created by fans that
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: has been catching a lot of traction.
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: So any that's right, Dario link last week, Yes, Darrek.
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: So the community's made a redit page and I want
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: to say when the one time I did click on
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: it said it was made like a while back, but
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: people are starting to back in August catch on to
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: the redit page.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and uh, Derek found it and this page is
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: really great.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: It's just uh where you dive intro too. You had
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: brought up the best part of it. There's a comment
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: on there. I gave sure of a comment for the show.
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: That's a discussion point. But they actually started to post
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: your winner stuff and like they're doing really good. And
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: somebody commented and said, wow, I really wish this page
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: was growing faster. And someone said, have you seen how
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: fast the show is growing? This page is next just
- 1:32:37Speaker 4: wait and people have been slowly dude it. I looked
- 1:32:40Speaker 4: at it when I was sad the other day. I
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: was like, I love it.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: I love that. Dude.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: That because reddit and correct me if I'm wrong. That's
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: just that's purely community based. Yeah, that's nothing that we
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: create it to be community based.
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, thread where people will go for like r
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: slash and it's our slash for the Dad's Pod. There's
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: probably a bunch out there, but you want the community
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: to make and operate it.
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: We don't want to be a part of it.
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: Other than to go in there and drop some comments
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: and stuff, but we shouldn't be the driver of it.
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: And these people are sick of it. I love the
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: mental thought too, is like, hey, we're up next.
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: And these are some Reddit sickos. Because the page is
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: set up really nicely. It's our yeah, beautifully r slash
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: for the Dad's Podcast. They have a banner where they
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: got p andngs of you, and I like, it's a
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: fully custom banner. They got a fully custom logo. And
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: then they have little flare. Do you know how Reddit
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: works with the flares?
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: Not really? What's like a flair like emoji?
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: A flare is like how you would categorize your posts
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: that you're about to make. And so, to give some examples,
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: episode discussion is a flare, dad hack is a flare? Crack,
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: a cold one is a flare. Good is a flare.
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, these guys get it.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: So those those flares, whatever, those are created, Yeah, those
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: are created that way. We can do too obviously we do.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: We read comments and stuff like that, but yeah, just
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: to give love to that, to that page, like we'll
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: be able to pull you know, anytime we want a
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: dad hack, we'll just shout out. We could shout out
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: the reddit off. The reddit comes from the reddit page.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: Absolutely, yes, that I mean, And that's the whole point
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: of like the community, that it will build itself.
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: So if there are any pt siccos listening to this
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: episode right now our slash for the Dad's Podcast, go
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: check it out. Uh, these guys built a really pretty
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: page and they post quite frequently.
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: I love that, man, because we want to give love
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: to each pocket that's out there in the community. Like
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: I know, we've been really shouting out the Spotify community,
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: and we've always kind of shouted out the YouTube community.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: But again, I know, like Apple, I don't know if
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: Apple has like a chat the reviews.
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: Live star and that's kind of it.
- 1:34:53Speaker 4: Also, over two hundred comments on Spotify, over two hundred
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: from last week's episode.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: I did see that we went down to four point
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: nine because of Phoenix.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: Oh because five star rating Phoenix Yeah good good good
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: Good got a one star brought us down a four
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: point nine but yeah, any community that's out there like
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: we're we're searching. So I'm glad we came across the
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: reddit page.
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: Same and do uh use that example exactly like you said,
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: this is a discussion from the reddit page.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: I'll read very quickly. Uh.
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: Episode thirty three discussion advice you've taken to heart and
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: this week's episode will quotes be a thermostat not a
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: thermometer really struck home with me. As I negotiate with
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: a growing four year old and two year old, we
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: have a lot of emotions flying around and oftentimes I
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: have to remind myself to be calm. It got me
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: thinking about all the advice that parents are given and get.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: My favorite is the comment cherish this you'll miss it
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: one day. Well, I don't doubt that right now I
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: am not cherishing cherishing this. Stantrum, what is one piece
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: of advice that has recently hit home with you? And
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: boss Man two eight eight nine four replied, it's not
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: so much of a quote, but something my father said
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: a few times, the first time sticking out the most
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: He passed away over a year ago, and we're now
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: expecting our first child. I wish I could hear his
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: advice now, but we had a great relationship in bond
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: that I can carry on lessons to my children. One day,
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: when we were driving somewhere, he went, you know, I'm
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: not really afraid of death. What will I know or
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: feel I'll be dead. What scares me the most is
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: not being able to hang out with you and your brother.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: I love you boys, and just sitting on couch watching
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: a game or traveling is what I love most. I
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: hope you have that relationship with your son one day
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: or daughter.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: He by no means was he I have to be
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: your friend type of father. But he walked that tight
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: rope of respect, love, friendship that I hope I can
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: model with my family. Not really a quote, but something
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: I found meaningful. That's incredible, So that.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: I mean that right.
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: There is just a little taste of stuff the community's
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: already doing on that Reddit page, which is really awesome
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: and fun to see.
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: So did they say, who wrote that? Boss Man two
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: eight eight nine four.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: Oh, we appreciate that, boss Man? Yeah, great, great word. Yeah,
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: it's always tough, like you're in the moments where you're
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: not cherishing or you're you're running on fumes or you're
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: a little annoyed, very easy to fall into the thermometer
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: side of things. What I try and do best. I
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: do my best to stay poised when I know I'm
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: like getting pissed off and I need to be a
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: little bit more stern with rue. But a lot of
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: times it'll be like, say, I leave the room and
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: it's bedtime, and she was having a hard time on it. Actually,
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: last night, when I went to home depot and got
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: my hands on the star link, like charl I did
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: her bedtime and then left.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: Yeah, but she didn't want to go to sleep.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: She wanted to do like a sleepover, and so Mom
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: had to be up there trying to put her down.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: And when I got it's like she was still crying
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: and everything else. And I just went up there and
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: laid with her, even though I was like, like, sweetheart,
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: we need to go to bed. But I was here
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: in real communicating me, I don't want to go to sleep.
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: I don't want to go to sleep. And I basically
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: told him like, hey, let's just slay up here. Hey,
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: you don't have to go to sleep, but I don't
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: want to go to sleep, sweetheart, you don't have to
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: go to sleep, like, let's just slay here, dead out,
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: rub your arm, and let's just calm down. Because she
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: was kind of hyperventilating a little bit. I just kind
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: of laid there with her. That was one where I
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: went in the room with intention of like, you know,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: thermostat stay poised. Yeah, hey, she kind of needs something
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: if I'm like in it. And then I leave the
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: room and I'm kind of reflecting on I wish I
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: would have done that better. It's more of just a
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: conversation you have with yourself after the fact. Yes, then
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: maybe the next morning if you feel inclined to say, hey,
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry when I was in your room last night
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: and debt I acted this way. I should have stayed
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: a lot more calm and helped you work through that
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: tantrum or whatever it was. But here's what I need
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: from you the next time we do that to help
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: remind that or whatever it is. Make them a part
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: of the solution as well. So you're not just putting
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: everything like, hey, I'm sorry, I should have been sweeter
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: to you, and you're just apologizing to them. It's like
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: you're figuring out the solution with them. Here's what I'm
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: gonna here's what Dad is gonna need from you next time.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: Because when we're powers out or we're doing this and
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: we don't have I know you've been wanting to watch TV.
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: We don't have TV, and we played Bear all day long.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: I know you wanted to play more Bear. Whatever it is.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: It's like, whenever it is time to wind down and
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: go to bed, here's where Data needs your help. And
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: so that way you're you're you're kind of setting the
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: stage for the next time it happens. But a lot
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: of times you're not gonna be able to appreciate and
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: be in tune every moment. It's just gonna that's gonna
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: be impossible. It's it's just always having those conversations with
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: yourself after the factor where you can handle it better
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: the next time. Like I always know that I'm trying
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: to stay more in the thermostat lane because like with
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: my wife, godbla, she's she's all time, she's a badass.
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: But I'm saying at times I'll know when she's annoyed
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: or awkwardly like upset about stuff, and she'll know it
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: where she'll know that things are weighing on me because
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: I get more internal like I'll be cool to where
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: it's like, uh, she'll just do a checking like hey,
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: how you doing, how you doing baby?
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: How you doing without internet? Or how you doing that?
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: I'm just thinking of recent stuff, yeah, like hey, how
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: you doing being cooped up in the house. You know,
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: I'm solid, like I'm fine, like I you know, I
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: wish X, Y and Z, but I just immediately say
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: something like, oh, it could be way worse than we
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: more so go from the gratitude angle. But when she
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: ever she's like checking in and asking me, it's like
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: there's almost like a little thing going off in my
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: head that I'm being solid right now, even though she
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: knows that like things might but it might be like,
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: you know, I'm not having the most upbeat personality because
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: I'm just trying to stay even keel about everything. That's
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: where I'm like, all right, I'm doing solid at being
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: a thermostat versus being reactive to a lot of things.
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: Yeah, those things will come.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: Out where I just kind of stay reserved or internalized
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: something that might be going on. It's like, bro, Scottie,
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: come on, Rue, come on, Waffle.
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: God, Yeah, come on, come on.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: That's been a sneaky lesson on this podcast that I've
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: really taken to heart as far as like being able
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: to apply to my life is the extra five seconds,
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: uh that I'll take in the car before I get
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: out of the car, like coming home from work or whatever.
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: Of like, no matter what you're walking into, Like like
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: you said, be a thermosat. You know you're you're gonna
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: be able to take on any storm. Have a positive attitude,
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: Be a loving husband to Jill, be a loving father
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: to Scarlet.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: Don't rush, take your time, be in the moment. I'll
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: do that when.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: I pull up to the hotel later today to go
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: bringing all those bads back down to the car and
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: just hey, this is gonna suck, but we're gonna have
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: the best attitude and we're gonna pick up Scarlett as
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: soon as we see her, play with her, talk to
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: her in the hotel before start going.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: You know, I caught a big dub over the weekend
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: and it was it was just Charle, my wife, simply saying, sweetheart,
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: I've I've been impressed, like this is the most.
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: I guess manly what man like?
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: This is the most I've seen you like essentially, what
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: you're saying, Uh, this is the most you've been a
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: man in a situation with all the powers and everything.
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: Willie one, shehell evolved.
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: I went from a charmander to a or I went
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: from a charmander to a char million charmillion, from a
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: charmander to a char million. With that comment, was fired
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: up because a lot of the time too, because she's like, hey,
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: last week, what I'm saying I was when we were
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: in LA for that Sam comm and I'm bringing about
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: the storm that's coming in I just simply texted her,
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, I'm uneasy about this storm coming. And
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: she's like, I can I can tell. She's like, what's
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: making you so uneasy? Like when we were talking about
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: I was like, I just know that I have no
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: clue how to operate at times and all the chaos.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: I just know we need to be prepared based on
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: everything that we're hearing with like I want to get salt.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: I want to do all the things that we can
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: do that you guys are educating me on as well
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: to like whin rise the house for what's happening, because
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: a lot of times I have no clue what I
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: just know, Hey, let's throw on some camo pants. Let's
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: get the boots on, like what needs to be done outside,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: like they're watching me out the windows, kind of salt
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: the driveway. But that comment from my wife come.
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: On a lot of there's a lot of pride, a
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: lot of pride in that.
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: That's a huge that's a huge moment for one shelf.
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: I was going to say earlier on the podcast and
- 1:43:21Speaker 2: forgot to. Let's not glaze over the fact that one
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: shelf was kicking ass with the Ginner rack.
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: I got a gan Iraq twenty four k watt.
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: I mean you had mcgiver on the phone as you
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: were defusing the bomb.
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: That's no, that's no easy task. I was nervous. Yeah,
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: I was nervous.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: We have a we have call ins that I'll get to.
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: Just one where we at on time? Were not under
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: an hour.
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: We're like a little bit just a tad over, tad over, now,
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: tat over. Are we coming up close on two?
- 1:43:57Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:43:57Speaker 6: We're getting are we? Yeah, we've been we've been rolling.
- 1:44:00Speaker 6: That means you've been having fun. I mean a lot
- 1:44:02Speaker 6: of content.
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: There was a lot of a lot of content this week.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, a lot of people you got assault.
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: This shut up.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: You know, don't do salt on the driveway. It's gonna
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: ruin to just shut up. You do it after, you
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: don't do it before. Shut up?
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: Yeah, shut up?
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: Oh this uh, this comes from Uncle Jack, the guy
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: that tweeted us. He called in not really okay.
- 1:44:27Speaker 3: It's like what.
- 1:44:29Speaker 7: Boys, it's again and the podcast I a shodn't let
- 1:44:37Speaker 7: you know. My wife absolutely loved the call. He love
- 1:44:40Speaker 7: the reaction. I think she watched like ten plus times.
- 1:44:44Speaker 7: Sure incorrectly. Sorry, pause it. I'm gonna take.
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: Some go back ten seconds, honey. We're recording a podcast.
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: Is everything? Okay, We're almost done, I promise. Oh okay,
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: I know. Yeah, it's fine. It's just funny kind And
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: I thought I thought you all recorded it, so sorry,
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: I thought we did. And you know what, we do
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: record eight thirty and this is a really long episode.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: We need to wrap it up. And I'm sorry. I
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: will rescue you from the hotel. It's fine. I just

- 1:45:30Speaker 3: I love you, I love you, I love you, Jill,
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: I love you.
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: Guys, love you bye, all right, play play the voice.
- 1:45:44Speaker 7: Also lift you to My wife absolutely loved the call.
- 1:45:47Speaker 7: He love the reaction. I think she watched like Canpulus times. Sure,
- 1:45:52Speaker 7: I guess correctly. I'm about eight hundred miles to the right.
- 1:45:57Speaker 7: I'm honest if you think I'm the Tison. But I'm
- 1:46:00Speaker 7: actually from a little town called Gaffney, South Carolina.
- 1:46:03Speaker 8: So this is rednick that you're here, legend in high
- 1:46:09Speaker 8: school played over line, So will you're exactly right out
- 1:46:13Speaker 8: of love to a gap.
- 1:46:16Speaker 7: I'll also take it as a compliment that shall think
- 1:46:18Speaker 7: I'm older and wiser. I'm actually twenty seven day of
- 1:46:21Speaker 7: the twenty eight, so we don't have any children yet,
- 1:46:28Speaker 7: but we got one boy that's on the way that's
- 1:46:30Speaker 7: to do at the end of March, and I can't
- 1:46:32Speaker 7: wait to run the Oklahoma Drew with him the real quick.
- 1:46:37Speaker 7: On the last episode, y'all, we're talking about prepping for
- 1:46:40Speaker 7: winter storm or basically for me, any kind of storm
- 1:46:44Speaker 7: he's about to happen that's going to ride up my
- 1:46:45Speaker 7: alley or for the power company in Western and so
- 1:46:50Speaker 7: anytime there's a potential winter storm or hurricane anything like that,
- 1:46:54Speaker 7: I actually have to leave and go help restore power.
- 1:46:57Speaker 7: Last time I had to leave for Hurricane Herlene, I
- 1:47:00Speaker 7: was going for a month.
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: Oh shit, So we wasn't.
- 1:47:03Speaker 7: Fully prepared for that. Thankfully, at that time it was
- 1:47:06Speaker 7: just my wife here. But she even have power for
- 1:47:08Speaker 7: two weeks. So this time we are more prepared than
- 1:47:13Speaker 7: ever getting rid of this wonder storm. Now got the propane,
- 1:47:17Speaker 7: thanks ful, gas cooks, fool generators, good to go. I'd
- 1:47:20Speaker 7: already went to the grocery store. Laundry and district are done.
- 1:47:24Speaker 7: I'm about to go in here now, meal preption food.
- 1:47:26Speaker 3: For the way. All she has to do is heat
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: it up.
- 1:47:29Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: I think all.
- 1:47:30Speaker 7: Men should prepare like this for their families. Prepare like
- 1:47:34Speaker 7: you're going to leave and you don't know when you're
- 1:47:37Speaker 7: gonna come back. Even if you are fortunate enough to
- 1:47:40Speaker 7: stay home playing snow and be with your family, you
- 1:47:43Speaker 7: should still be fully prepared for the worst case scenario.
- 1:47:48Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:47:49Speaker 7: Will you said it before. Failure to prepare is preparing
- 1:47:53Speaker 7: to fail? Around here is not an option? Bo, would
- 1:47:58Speaker 7: You'll be safe? God bless India.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: He's the first responder. He's a front line guy. He's
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: a front line guy. Shout out to those guys again
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: and has been working over time. They've been grabbing other
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: workers from throughout the region to help come and help.
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: They've been grabbing andies essentially.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, to come get some extra support in the
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: city of Nashville. I do feel like the front line
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: cats like him, like him. They've been on it as
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: much as they can here in Nashville.
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: Bro, I'm telling you those dads out there, like the
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: Uncle Jacks of the world there on Twitter, like, yeah,
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: would ship their pants if they ran into a Andy dude.
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that is a sick o. That is crazy
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: that he's twenty seven. That's crazy, dude. We got It's
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: an old soul right there.
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: That's an old soul, and we gotta send him we
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: obviously we send merch all of our voicemail that we play,
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: but we'll make sure we take care of Andy with
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: some good stuff.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: Probably a bigger guy.
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: Too, if he was playing O line. Hear it in
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: his voice too. Oh well, well yeah, bigger guy. Not
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: like bigger guy for sure for sure. Uh and shout
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: out game Cocks. I'm sure JP would love to.
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: Know that he's a South Carolina gang.
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: Call h I have a topic, quote or lesson of
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: the week.
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: Do you have one?
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: WILLI see I'm.
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: Looking up a Dan Gable quote because I know we
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: have to get rolling, we have to get roll. I'll
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: read Jill, I'll read my thing. This comes with the story.
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: There's a quote that a mantra that my family has
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: had for years because my mom was in New York City.
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: She saw a mother and daughter on the side of
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: the street and busy Manhattan and they were sobbing, crying
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: and they were holding each other as my mom is
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: walking by and busy Manhattan, and the mom pushed the
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: daughter out like this and held her, and my mom
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: heard her say, listen, all did mad is set with together.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: And that's like, that's been our quote for all time.
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: All that matter is that we're together, and that really
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: applied this week. Life will never go to plan. Plans
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: will always change, things will break. Not every day will
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: feel like a win. In fact, you'll have a ton
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: of losses. And in those wins and losses, one thing remains,
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: and that's the people that you are surrounded by. Your spouse,
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: your kids, your family and loved ones or even your
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: dear friends. Being together doesn't mean everything is easier, perfect Oftentimes,
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: the true growth in our lives comes from the deepest trenches,
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: when the person beside you knows that you have their
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: back and that you have and that they have yours.
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: I mess that up.
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: Years from now, you won't remember the schedule, the score,
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: or the money. You'll remember the people who were with
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: you in the trenches. They're at the dinner table, in
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: the car on a long road trip full of tears,
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: or in the living room with no power, in the
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: fireplace roaring. When life feels heavy or too much to bear.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Come back to what it matters most. The people are
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: under you. Stay close, stay present, stay together, because that's
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: what lasts. And that also reminded me of a Dan
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: Gable quote. Well he said, my coaches were great, my
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: mom and my dad and my dad never missed a
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: wrestling mate, Dan Gable.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: Hey, well done, well done, bro, that was very good.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: Thank you. My Dan Gable quote comes from Dan Gable.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: A lot listen it is now, get it out, Yeah,
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: get it out. A lot of my intensity and wrestling
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: was due to my mental preparation before the matches. I
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: got myself into a different world. How does that encompass?
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: Well, how's that apply?
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: Everything going on.
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: It's what my man Andy just said on the call in.
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: Just rewrite this quote. A lot of my intensity in
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: the storm was due to my mental preparation before the
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: storm hits. I got myself into a different world. So
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: essentially you're playing at all times. You prepare for the worst,
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: you hope for the best, and so that mental preparation
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: before the storm hits is what's going to carry you
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: through that storm. Yes, whether it's an ice storm, tornado,
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: hurricane waffle shits all over the floor, thunderstorm, whatever it is,
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: black ice storm.
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: Scotty's up on the roof with the starlank.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: Any storm that we are good too.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: That intensity comes from the mental preparation that you do
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: before it hits. Even if you're about to have a newborn,
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: that's a storm, a newborn storm. That is the preparation
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: you put in before the newborn comes. Like when we're
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: getting Tricks of the Trade, the mom hack earlier. Do
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: some research before this stage of life with your kiddo.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: So that way, wife, you knows you're bought in. You
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: know you're bought in, you know you're prepared to handle
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: what comes with this next stage.
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: Dan Gable, Dan gable.
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: PTC. Yes, I apologize. I don't want to hijack. I
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: uh my parents watched this. They just put down the
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: family dog. Mid So go home, hug your boys, Hug
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: your girls, hug your dog. Goes very very sad. But
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: Dan Gibble quote the match. That is my valleys are
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: higher than most people's peaks.
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: So we are here. I just yet come down. Whant
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: to watch this? It's really hard.
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: It's been the dog for sixteen years, so love yeah,
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: so do great to bring the mood.
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: I just it's like, go hug the fucking shit.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sorry, brother, I'm sorry for your parents too.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: This was a big one in your life. Obviously, sixteen
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: years you've been removed from.
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: The college dog. And every time I go back and
- 1:53:37Speaker 3: so this Christmas, So is this the dog that you
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: had in college?
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: No?
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: No, no, they got it my senior year and brought
- 1:53:43Speaker 4: it to the house and when to hang out. Yeah,
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: this was the reason we wanted to go home this Christmas. Oh,
- 1:53:47Speaker 4: it was it was time.
- 1:53:48Speaker 3: It was an that's life. It happens. Just hug.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: As far as a parenthood stage two, you you're off
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: at college, they get a dog to just get another
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: family member while they're empty nest.
- 1:54:01Speaker 3: That's tough. What what was Doggo's name?
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: If you don't mind, Loki and Loki Golden a family.
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: Dog having got good one. Dude, got a good one.
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: Hug your family, Hug your dogs. Thank you guys for
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: tuning in. We will see you next week.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: If you are in Nashville, stay safe, stay warm, yes,
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: stay salty.
