- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench. We have to Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:04Speaker 1: The plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I got to come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Kines Studio.
- 0:29Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in have number two of O TB.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Jake Flynn, Elandra Tata. The wolf Pack is all here
- 0:37Speaker 3: and going to be joined now as we are every
- 0:39Speaker 3: single Wednesday by Doctor Stephen Etheridge.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Doc, how we doing, how we living? Doing great? Doing awesome?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Glad to be back with you here, normal routine. Seeing
- 0:49Speaker 3: Doc on a Wednesday, I know it's Wednesday now.
- 0:52Speaker 5: Helps kind of get some balance and understanding and yeah,
- 0:55Speaker 5: it's ground you a.
- 0:56Speaker 6: Little bit, right, it does your north star he is
- 0:59Speaker 6: and we have found our found and.
- 1:00Speaker 2: We're glad to have him here.
- 1:02Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Doc's also in the middle of training camp too.
- 1:04Speaker 3: We're not the only ones having to go to training
- 1:07Speaker 3: camp practice every day all day.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It feels like so it has it been over on
- 1:11Speaker 2: the Ponderosa.
- 1:12Speaker 5: It's it's been good. I've really enjoyed the intensity. I
- 1:15Speaker 5: think you've kind of seen a little bit more energy
- 1:18Speaker 5: out there. It's it's been nice to see that you know,
- 1:20Speaker 5: the schedule is a little bit different. You know, they'll
- 1:22Speaker 5: do some morning, some afternoon, which the afternoon's nice for
- 1:24Speaker 5: the temperature, but not so nice when we're getting off
- 1:27Speaker 5: the field of like nine o'clock at night or something
- 1:28Speaker 5: like that.
- 1:30Speaker 4: But but all in all, its it's been very good.
- 1:32Speaker 3: It's good to hear that the energy is up and
- 1:34Speaker 3: the intensity is up. Because Flynn and I went to
- 1:37Speaker 3: a practice last year. We brought a couple of you know,
- 1:39Speaker 3: of our children and we get them all set up
- 1:41Speaker 3: and we get them some of my high popsicles and
- 1:43Speaker 3: they sit down and they blow the whistle and that
- 1:46Speaker 3: was it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: They were done.
- 1:48Speaker 3: So I do think you need to get forged in
- 1:50Speaker 3: the fire, a little bit calloused here in the South
- 1:53Speaker 3: Louisiana heat. So it's good to hear that they're doing that,
- 1:55Speaker 3: and you know, it's a part of the process. At
- 1:59Speaker 3: least it wasn't it is it is, you know, I
- 2:01Speaker 3: look is medical staff. On the one hand, it's nice
- 2:04Speaker 3: to not have preseason injuries. There's nothing worse than a
- 2:07Speaker 3: guy gets hurt before you even started. That's the most
- 2:10Speaker 3: awful thing. But on the other hand, sometimes you got it.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You gotta play ball.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Before you play ball, you can't out you know, you
- 2:16Speaker 5: can't just go out there and and all of a
- 2:18Speaker 5: sudden turned the switch on day one if you haven't
- 2:20Speaker 5: done it prior to that.
- 2:21Speaker 4: So it find of that balance.
- 2:22Speaker 5: And look, it's not as easy as it sounds because
- 2:24Speaker 5: you don't want to kill the guys, but you gotta
- 2:25Speaker 5: you gotta find a balance, you gotta get ready.
- 2:27Speaker 6: Well, let me let me follow up on that, just
- 2:29Speaker 6: from like a like a middle school, high school youth
- 2:32Speaker 6: football standpoint, because like the last week, last five six
- 2:37Speaker 6: days felt like it's been a little bit different level.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Like I know this because I'm going out and watching
- 2:42Speaker 6: hucking is that sixth grade team practice and they they're
- 2:45Speaker 6: following all the rules and regulations, but at some point,
- 2:49Speaker 6: like it's gotten so hot, I'm like, well, if they don't,
- 2:51Speaker 6: you'll practice outside. At some point, they're not going to
- 2:53Speaker 6: practice before like the first game, Like what's the And
- 2:56Speaker 6: I know this is probably more of like a trainer
- 2:58Speaker 6: like expertise when it comes like wet bulb and what
- 3:00Speaker 6: the temperatures are and all that, but like, do you
- 3:03Speaker 6: have like any advice for youth teams or high school
- 3:06Speaker 6: teams that are trying to monitor and still like from
- 3:09Speaker 6: the end, from the perspective of it, you still got
- 3:10Speaker 6: to get your work in, but you also.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Got to do it in a safe way.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's a hard balance. And especially here in
- 3:15Speaker 5: Baton Rouge. You know, we're we're really, really hot, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 5: in the past the past week has been the extreme
- 3:21Speaker 5: of that, and it is hard. You know, you're gonna
- 3:23Speaker 5: see different rules and regulations. There's really not a universal
- 3:26Speaker 5: agreed upon. This is the temperature. But you have to
- 3:29Speaker 5: one have different standards. We can't have the same standard
- 3:31Speaker 5: here that you're gonna have somewhere up north because if
- 3:33Speaker 5: we use their standards, we would never practice your right
- 3:35Speaker 5: point right. So so it's a hard balance. I think
- 3:38Speaker 5: at some point you've got to get in the heat
- 3:39Speaker 5: because you're gonna play games when it's hot. You've got
- 3:41Speaker 5: to get acclimated to this heat or else you will
- 3:43Speaker 5: have issues. So it is it is a tough balance,
- 3:46Speaker 5: just like the balance between intensity, you know, pushing hard
- 3:48Speaker 5: enough to get guys ready, but you don't want to
- 3:50Speaker 5: beat them up too much. I think you got to
- 3:51Speaker 5: you got to kind of work with it. And look,
- 3:53Speaker 5: you've either got to practice a little earlier, a little later.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Maybe it means you shorten the practice and say, look,
- 3:57Speaker 5: we know it's this hot, so instead of going to
- 3:59Speaker 5: our scripted hour and we're only going to do an hour.
- 4:01Speaker 5: You know, I think you gotta just kind of find
- 4:02Speaker 5: those modifications.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I actually like the fact that they're practicing at different times,
- 4:06Speaker 3: because I do think that's important.
- 4:07Speaker 2: You're gonna play games at different times.
- 4:09Speaker 3: You're gonna play a game at noon eastern kickoff, You're
- 4:11Speaker 3: gonna play one at seven thirty eastern kickoff. It's gonna
- 4:14Speaker 3: be a little bit of everything for LSU in the
- 4:15Speaker 3: schedule this year. Do you think that helps maybe get
- 4:18Speaker 3: you ready for the different times and kind of your
- 4:20Speaker 3: process of getting ready to play a game or whatever
- 4:22Speaker 3: it might be.
- 4:23Speaker 5: I do, you know, and especially these are still young guys.
- 4:26Speaker 5: These are still kids based these guys were in high
- 4:27Speaker 5: school a lot of them last year, or you know,
- 4:29Speaker 5: some of them are older and have the day's day
- 4:31Speaker 5: and age. But yeah, but you know, they've you've got
- 4:35Speaker 5: to learn how to be different. The season is different,
- 4:37Speaker 5: and I do think that's one thing that I seem
- 4:39Speaker 5: to see with the way that coach Kiffen does practice
- 4:41Speaker 5: and does really the whole, the whole day to day
- 4:44Speaker 5: the way he runs things is it not always as consistent, which,
- 4:48Speaker 5: on the one hand, can be a little bit more
- 4:49Speaker 5: difficult if you're very you know, oriented on the process
- 4:51Speaker 5: and you're like, hey, I like knowing every day.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I get that side of it.
- 4:55Speaker 5: But on the other hand, to your point, that's not
- 4:57Speaker 5: how the season's gonna go. We're gonna have things that
- 5:00Speaker 5: come up different game times. You're gonna have and especially
- 5:02Speaker 5: if you're make into posts as only as you get
- 5:04Speaker 5: more bizarre and different if that happens. So I think
- 5:06Speaker 5: I think shaking it up a little bit, making the
- 5:08Speaker 5: guys adaptable, I think there is probably something to that.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Mmm. I like that's the way that I liked it.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean the Yeah, the body. It adaptation is
- 5:17Speaker 6: like something that the body can get used to it
- 5:20Speaker 6: and it can learn how to adapt to different environments,
- 5:22Speaker 6: different climates, different and it it makes you better during
- 5:26Speaker 6: the game for it, and like kind of like you said,
- 5:27Speaker 6: it's like these like these youth football you have to go,
- 5:30Speaker 6: like the balance is so hard because you got to
- 5:32Speaker 6: go and get experience or you're gonna have issues in
- 5:34Speaker 6: the game, like they're not gonna cancel the game because
- 5:36Speaker 6: it's too hot. You can cancel practice because it's safe
- 5:39Speaker 6: and you and you want, like that's the number one
- 5:41Speaker 6: thing you gotta do with it in football is make
- 5:43Speaker 6: sure the players are safe. But that also means pushing
- 5:47Speaker 6: them a little bit because in the game, like like
- 5:50Speaker 6: we said, it's like they're not going to cancel it,
- 5:52Speaker 6: So you have to be used to If you haven't
- 5:54Speaker 6: been doing those things and pushed yourself in practice, it's
- 5:56Speaker 6: gonna put you in an unsafe position during the game.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 5:59Speaker 5: And that's and you know, and look, in the job
- 6:02Speaker 5: that I do is sports medicine, that's part of what
- 6:03Speaker 5: we have to kind of realize is different. You don't
- 6:06Speaker 5: treat sports medicine exactly like regular medicine, and sometimes that
- 6:09Speaker 5: there's a little bit of disconnect there. But you have
- 6:11Speaker 5: to be aware of the circumstances. If I held every
- 6:15Speaker 5: kid out that had an injury, you wouldn't be able
- 6:17Speaker 5: to feel the team for most sports once you get
- 6:19Speaker 5: midway into a season, So there is finding that line.
- 6:21Speaker 5: It's the same thing with all these things, what are
- 6:23Speaker 5: you comfortable with and what do you not And I
- 6:25Speaker 5: think you've got to go to test these kids though,
- 6:27Speaker 5: especially or else they're not going to be ready.
- 6:29Speaker 2: All right, Now, let's transition to the New Orleans Saints.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Before we do, perfect time to tell you about Rowse's Markets,
- 6:35Speaker 3: because well, that's the official grocery store of the New
- 6:38Speaker 3: Orleans Saints. So when it comes to fresh food and
- 6:40Speaker 3: fresh Louisiana flavor, nobody does it like Rouse's. Go see
- 6:43Speaker 3: them today rowses dot com. They've got a little bit
- 6:47Speaker 3: of everything there. They get the lunch bar, the sushi bar,
- 6:49Speaker 3: the salad bar, already ready to go.
- 6:51Speaker 2: If you're into hydration, you should be. They've got my high.
- 6:54Speaker 3: As well, so you can find that there a lot
- 6:56Speaker 3: of local Hey, your local Rouses. Go to Rouses dot
- 6:59Speaker 3: com to find the location that is convenient for you.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And let's dive into the New Orleans Saints.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Jordan Tyson gonna be the first thing that we talk about. Unfortunately,
- 7:09Speaker 3: another soft tissue hamstring injury.
- 7:13Speaker 2: This one's gonna keep him out for an extended.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Period of time, and it was the cause for concern
- 7:18Speaker 3: when you drafted him. The talents there. You saw it,
- 7:22Speaker 3: we saw it, everybody saw it. But he did miss
- 7:24Speaker 3: time and Doc We've talked about this so many times,
- 7:28Speaker 3: but it just feels like the soft tissue guys.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Can never get over the hump.
- 7:34Speaker 3: They can't ever find their way to, you know, solidifying
- 7:37Speaker 3: that area of their body, strengthening that part of their body.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It just feels like it just happens time and time again.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a hard injury. And I didn't see the
- 7:47Speaker 5: actual video or anything of this. I'm not sure if
- 7:48Speaker 5: it was out there, but I did kind of read
- 7:49Speaker 5: the report and it sounds like this is more of
- 7:51Speaker 5: a new injury where he slipped, his leg was extended,
- 7:54Speaker 5: you know, so it wasn't necessarily that he reaggravated the
- 7:57Speaker 5: same injury. But at the same time, this is a
- 7:59Speaker 5: guy who know has had them, he has that history.
- 8:01Speaker 5: And to your point, I always worry about these guys,
- 8:04Speaker 5: you know, And I'm sure for for anybody that's a
- 8:06Speaker 5: New Orleans sports fan, hearing another hamstring injury that's gonna
- 8:08Speaker 5: keep one of your stars out, it is not what
- 8:10Speaker 5: you want to hear, because you know, it's been sort
- 8:11Speaker 5: of a plague down there. I feel like, and you know,
- 8:13Speaker 5: I just you know, realistic, probably bad luck, and you know,
- 8:17Speaker 5: a fast guy playing in a speed position who's had
- 8:20Speaker 5: this history, who then has a new injury that sounds
- 8:22Speaker 5: like a kind of a bad injury. But it's gonna
- 8:23Speaker 5: be at least two months, and they're already putting that
- 8:25Speaker 5: out there, you know, it is concerning.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and obviously, like you said, like you're speculating, like
- 8:32Speaker 3: what it could be for a hamshin that keeps you
- 8:34Speaker 3: out two months?
- 8:35Speaker 2: What great is that? Yeah? Like it has to be
- 8:37Speaker 2: as close to a terror as yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean if with without knowing, you know, I
- 8:41Speaker 5: would guess probably on the high grade two. Uh so
- 8:44Speaker 5: you know, grade one is kind of the mile, with
- 8:45Speaker 5: grade two probably has the widest variance, So you can
- 8:48Speaker 5: have a kind of a mile or grade two all
- 8:49Speaker 5: the way to a severe grade too, And that's probably
- 8:51Speaker 5: i'd say, because usually a grade three is when it
- 8:53Speaker 5: divorces off the bone, right, and that's one where when oftentimes,
- 8:56Speaker 5: especially for a speed guy, this, ye're gonna be talking
- 8:58Speaker 5: of surgery and that would be a you know, five
- 9:00Speaker 5: month plus recovery. So so if they're saying two months,
- 9:03Speaker 5: that always already tells me they're not looking at surgery.
- 9:05Speaker 4: They're but they also probably are seeing it.
- 9:07Speaker 5: You know that he's got a moderate tear in the
- 9:09Speaker 5: muscle and that's what you know grade to probably even indicate,
- 9:12Speaker 5: and that's gonna have to heal.
- 9:14Speaker 6: When you think about this and they're saying a new
- 9:16Speaker 6: injury to a hamstring and not something that has been
- 9:20Speaker 6: lingering or a past hamstring injury, is that a good
- 9:23Speaker 6: sign or would you rather rehurt what's already been hurt?
- 9:27Speaker 6: Like is it a good thing for Saint Spans? They
- 9:29Speaker 6: hear like it's a new hamstring issue.
- 9:31Speaker 4: You know, the honest answer, I have no idea.
- 9:33Speaker 5: It's one of those questions that when we see that
- 9:35Speaker 5: I always kind of even ask it on myself.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Or is it better that this is new or is
- 9:38Speaker 4: this is it worse?
- 9:39Speaker 5: And you know, I guess, I guess maybe better if
- 9:42Speaker 5: I had to fall on one side of it, at
- 9:44Speaker 5: least we say, Okay, this one had a mechanism that
- 9:45Speaker 5: makes a lot of sense from the description I saw.
- 9:48Speaker 4: This one was an injury that you.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Know, probably if anybody has that same mechanism would probably
- 9:53Speaker 5: have a hamstring injury. So maybe that's a good thing
- 9:57Speaker 5: that this seems to kind of fit more with not
- 10:00Speaker 5: just hey, I'm an injury prone hamstring guy. Maybe, But
- 10:04Speaker 5: at the same time, then again, you can also argue
- 10:05Speaker 5: announce a new injury, maybe it's a new spot, and
- 10:07Speaker 5: maybe this is only to make those issues worse. But
- 10:09Speaker 5: I'm gonna lean more on the optimistic side and say
- 10:11Speaker 5: it's more positive.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and then start thinking about like can you do anything?
- 10:16Speaker 3: I guess there's just like anything or it's just like
- 10:18Speaker 3: the twitchy guys like this and we talk about it
- 10:20Speaker 3: all the time. With Zion Williamson, it's like he's almost
- 10:23Speaker 3: too explosive for his body, like his body can't keep
- 10:25Speaker 3: up with the explosion.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Sometimes does that just happen?
- 10:29Speaker 4: I think sometimes it does.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Now obviously, yes, there's lots of things we can do,
- 10:32Speaker 5: and you know, there's a lot with rehab, there's a
- 10:34Speaker 5: lot with training, there's a lot with flexibility. There's a
- 10:37Speaker 5: lot that goes into you know, even like nutrition and
- 10:39Speaker 5: hydration and how do we treat these guys medically or
- 10:42Speaker 5: the things that we can do, you know, different types
- 10:44Speaker 5: of treatments and injections and dry needling and all these
- 10:47Speaker 5: different things that we potentially can do that are gonna
- 10:49Speaker 5: help it maybe recover a little faster, maybe decrease the
- 10:53Speaker 5: risk that it happens again, but you're not going to
- 10:56Speaker 5: remove that risk. I think you know a guy like him,
- 10:58Speaker 5: he's always gonna have a risk.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 6: I'm not sure the best way to ask this question,
- 11:05Speaker 6: but I have like a thought, and I think I
- 11:08Speaker 6: feel that some guys are more inclined to be injured
- 11:12Speaker 6: at a certain age than others. Like is there anything
- 11:15Speaker 6: to do with like a body's maturity. Maybe parts of
- 11:17Speaker 6: his body like get into a mature level before other parts.
- 11:21Speaker 2: We talked about this with like DJ.
- 11:23Speaker 6: Lagway when he like he was he grew so fast,
- 11:26Speaker 6: like he always had these different injuries.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Yeah, and I.
- 11:28Speaker 6: Remember being like late LSU early NFL career, I would
- 11:33Speaker 6: like get these like weird back problems and like I
- 11:36Speaker 6: don't know what happened, but all of a sudden a
- 11:37Speaker 6: couple years later, I never got it again. I just
- 11:39Speaker 6: figured my body was like kind of at a mature
- 11:41Speaker 6: level at that point. Is there anything that, like you
- 11:45Speaker 6: see younger guys that have to meet their bodies just
- 11:50Speaker 6: hasn't caught up to other parts of their body, and
- 11:52Speaker 6: that they just there they have a higher proclivity of
- 11:54Speaker 6: getting a certain type of injury.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's definitely a thing.
- 11:57Speaker 5: You know, I'm not aware of these officials statistics on that.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Like with Zion with that stuff.
- 12:02Speaker 6: Yeah, dude, it's like it's his body just hasn't caught
- 12:05Speaker 6: up to everything else.
- 12:06Speaker 5: And I think sometimes that there is you see this
- 12:08Speaker 5: a lot of these Like as much as we say,
- 12:09Speaker 5: oh these hamstrew things Linger, there's a lot of guys
- 12:12Speaker 5: if you go back and look earlier in their career,
- 12:13Speaker 5: had them, and then later on maybe they didn't. You know,
- 12:16Speaker 5: we see a lot I tell you know a lot
- 12:17Speaker 5: of these people that are coming into the clinical a
- 12:19Speaker 5: lot with their kids. And you think about the way
- 12:21Speaker 5: the body grows, and you would think that, you know,
- 12:23Speaker 5: a fifteen year old, you know, you're fifteen, you should
- 12:25Speaker 5: be super flexible, right, But then I mean, anybody that
- 12:27Speaker 5: has a fifteen year old, they are not because they're
- 12:29Speaker 5: growing so much around that that timeline. And so when
- 12:32Speaker 5: you're growing that fast, everything is tighter, Like to your point,
- 12:34Speaker 5: the body is not caught up. You haven't really settled
- 12:36Speaker 5: into yourself yet, and that can I think for some
- 12:38Speaker 5: people it does take longer, you know, and especially these
- 12:40Speaker 5: guys that are just these behemoth freaks that are just giants,
- 12:44Speaker 5: you know, so for them, I think it's that much
- 12:45Speaker 5: more exaggerated. So I do think there is something to
- 12:47Speaker 5: be said for Yes, you will sort of grow out
- 12:50Speaker 5: of some of these things, but you know, only so much.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Too the same. I mean, he's a fresh twenty two.
- 12:55Speaker 2: He just turned twenty two.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Like I'm just like, this is so early as Krell
- 13:00Speaker 6: want to be hopeful for the future, It's like, is
- 13:01Speaker 6: this something that he might grow out?
- 13:03Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 13:04Speaker 6: I mean, I get it's a hamstring issue. He's fast,
- 13:05Speaker 6: he's twitchy. I was just hoping there were some quarters.
- 13:09Speaker 5: I hope so, and I think so if I had
- 13:10Speaker 5: to bet, you know, look, I'm you never have bet
- 13:13Speaker 5: on the negative. But you know, I assume that you'll
- 13:15Speaker 5: see him become more available over the next few years.
- 13:19Speaker 5: I assume he'll be a guy that maybe still has
- 13:21Speaker 5: some of these issues, but probably less frequent.
- 13:23Speaker 4: You know, a lot of times you see that the
- 13:24Speaker 4: guys do you adjust, They adjust to the schedule, they
- 13:26Speaker 4: adjust to the training, they adjust to their body. But
- 13:29Speaker 4: you know, that's what we hope for.
- 13:30Speaker 3: At least everybody heals differently too, and the rehab goes different.
- 13:35Speaker 3: And I think of a case of so, Patrick Mahomes
- 13:38Speaker 3: tears his LCL and his a CL in December. I
- 13:42Speaker 3: was at Chiefs camp last week, and he looked like
- 13:45Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes. He had no limitations moving side, inside, up
- 13:49Speaker 3: and down any direction.
- 13:51Speaker 2: He looked like Patrick Mahomes.
- 13:53Speaker 3: And then you have a league neighbors who's an elite
- 13:55Speaker 3: athlete tears his way before Mahomes in the season, but
- 13:59Speaker 3: has complication, has to go back in, get scar tissue removed.
- 14:03Speaker 3: He's got a limp in the summertime, and they're trying
- 14:05Speaker 3: to get him back on the field now. So and
- 14:08Speaker 3: that we know that's an elite athlete, So everybody heals
- 14:11Speaker 3: a little bit differently. The rehab process is different for
- 14:13Speaker 3: everyone as well. Yeah, it's very true. I tell patients
- 14:16Speaker 3: all the time. You know, Look, the human body typically
- 14:18Speaker 3: doesn't read the.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Anatomy and physiology textbooks, which and my point is that
- 14:21Speaker 5: we're all different, and you'll see things that just don't
- 14:23Speaker 5: make sense in one athlete or one patient. And and look,
- 14:28Speaker 5: I've seen that way too many times in my career
- 14:30Speaker 5: now to say oh, yeah that's fluky, or oh that's
- 14:32Speaker 5: you know, they're they're faking or or something just we
- 14:34Speaker 5: all heal differently, we all hear a different rate. And
- 14:36Speaker 5: then every injury is different, even every knee injury. Even
- 14:38Speaker 5: even you know, two torn acls are not going to.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Be exactly the same.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Maybe one's got a little bit more of a bone contusion,
- 14:43Speaker 5: a little more cartilage damage than the other. Uh So
- 14:45Speaker 5: there's a lot that goes into it. And to your point, yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 5: we're all just we're all very different. That's part of
- 14:50Speaker 5: what makes medicine difficult.
- 14:52Speaker 6: Doc, Is it okay to do push ups every day?
- 14:55Speaker 6: My peck's starting to get a little tight on the
- 14:57Speaker 6: right side.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Well, you know it's it's it's as we get a
- 15:00Speaker 4: or you might have a little more cautious.
- 15:01Speaker 2: This guy out here, Hey, everybody, I do push up bruh,
- 15:04Speaker 2: A big deal tries.
- 15:07Speaker 6: Oh you know, like you know, you go bench bress,
- 15:09Speaker 6: you don't do what you benching like you know, it
- 15:12Speaker 6: got a little tight today when I was doing it.
- 15:15Speaker 3: It's okay to do them at over forty I think,
- 15:18Speaker 3: so okay, But every day, well just I didn't know
- 15:20Speaker 3: if it adn't split it up every other day for
- 15:22Speaker 3: we're good pectoral health.
- 15:23Speaker 5: There's a argument that you got to let the body
- 15:25Speaker 5: recover too, So let's muscle groups recover.
- 15:26Speaker 4: You know, so there is a reason I say, we
- 15:28Speaker 4: don't trench every day. So but then also push ups
- 15:30Speaker 4: a little different.
- 15:31Speaker 2: So and he bounce back from that. Okay, I want
- 15:35Speaker 2: to I want to talk just real quick. Oh n
- 15:37Speaker 2: let's you question real quick.
- 15:39Speaker 6: I would say, like, would you say, top to bottom
- 15:42Speaker 6: on the whole team, we got pretty healthy feet, like
- 15:44Speaker 6: no lingering foot issues anywhere on the team.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Yeah, top to bottom pretty good.
- 15:47Speaker 5: You know, the normal camp stuff, the blisters all that,
- 15:50Speaker 5: but otherwise good feet.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it was what make sure there's no injured feet
- 15:55Speaker 2: up some.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Of There's been a lot of interest in foot injuries
- 15:57Speaker 4: this this offseason. I'm not sure why.
- 15:59Speaker 2: It's like it was just a random questions thing random, Hey,
- 16:04Speaker 2: what's funny? Though, well done by you, but your second
- 16:07Speaker 2: for doc. The blisters in camp, God.
- 16:09Speaker 4: The they're horrible.
- 16:10Speaker 2: They're horrible.
- 16:11Speaker 5: I see these guys walking around in their slides and
- 16:13Speaker 5: I look at their feet and oh, I'm not envious.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I remember those days.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So much that seconds in jail. Oh, they are terrible.
- 16:20Speaker 5: And I mean, I know it's it's not a big injury,
- 16:22Speaker 5: and the people some of the people who haven't experienced
- 16:24Speaker 5: that out there are probably laughing, and no they're awful.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Oh no, we're not talking about like a normal blood.
- 16:28Speaker 4: These things they're talking about like dinosaur blisters. They are terrible.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Oh they were. I don't even think about it. Put
- 16:33Speaker 2: on your cleat and you just.
- 16:34Speaker 6: Like you had to get that. You get those little
- 16:36Speaker 6: squares that it's called the second skin. It was like
- 16:38Speaker 6: that cool jail and they put it and you got
- 16:39Speaker 6: to put the band aid over the top of it
- 16:41Speaker 6: and then wrap it. Then you got to wrap it yourhead. Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 6: because you yeah, me and you both we had Peyton
- 16:47Speaker 6: manning forehead. But then you go from Assas twelve to
- 16:50Speaker 6: a Sas.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Thirteen cleet actually fitting in there.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Docu the man. We appreciate it. I'm glad to be
- 16:57Speaker 3: back with you. Look forward to it every single week.

- 19:21Speaker 3: dot com. KZ Blinds dot com get started today. It
- 19:28Speaker 3: is so wild for me to think about like having
- 19:31Speaker 3: hamstrings that can't stay healthy because I wasn't twitchy enough
- 19:36Speaker 3: to pull a hamstring.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Sure, yeah, you know what I mean.
- 19:39Speaker 3: And so like for me, I'm like, it's a hamstring
- 19:41Speaker 3: and if you got one, just work through it.
- 19:43Speaker 2: So it's a foreign thing for me.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah yeah right, look at that first saw it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: So It's hard for.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Me to like imagine just not being able to keep
- 19:56Speaker 3: your hamstring healthy. But I know it's real. I know
- 19:58Speaker 3: it's a thing. I know it's something Jordan Tyson has
- 20:01Speaker 3: dealt with. And we always use the compo zion because
- 20:04Speaker 3: I think it's the perfect one. He's right down the street.
- 20:06Speaker 3: He's in the same building as Jordan Tyson. I mean,
- 20:08Speaker 3: they're there next to each other, and he's just like
- 20:11Speaker 3: the things that he does with his body, his hamstrings can't.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Keep up with.
- 20:15Speaker 3: And it feels like that with Jordan Tyson. I don't
- 20:19Speaker 3: know if it's his gait. I don't know if it's
- 20:21Speaker 3: just the twitch like, I don't know what it is.
- 20:24Speaker 3: But when he's on the field and healthy, you know
- 20:27Speaker 3: exactly why he was a top ten pick. The risk
- 20:30Speaker 3: that went into it, unfortunately though, has shown up multiple
- 20:35Speaker 3: times already.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and then that's what Nick said yesterday.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Being at every practice, Nick watching him every rep, he
- 20:42Speaker 6: basically said, I can't overstate enough how good he was,
- 20:46Speaker 6: how impressive he was. He's one of those guys and
- 20:49Speaker 6: one of the few times that you draft somebody and
- 20:51Speaker 6: within the first five minutes of the first practice he's
- 20:53Speaker 6: out there you're like, Okay, that's different, and that's that guy.
- 20:57Speaker 6: And look he just turned twenty two. Okay, So I
- 21:01Speaker 6: do think there is hopefully an age component to this.
- 21:05Speaker 6: He's got a lot of time left in his prime.
- 21:07Speaker 6: This is so early. I know the overreaction is real,
- 21:12Speaker 6: and I know the overreaction is warranted, but I'm gonna
- 21:15Speaker 6: be hopeful because I want to see a route runner
- 21:18Speaker 6: like that in the NFL. I want to see what
- 21:20Speaker 6: he can do in the NFL. It's not just like
- 21:22Speaker 6: a saint thing, like I want the best talent out there. So,
- 21:25Speaker 6: you know, here's the hope that he can't get hill.
- 21:27Speaker 6: Here's the hope in that his body matures a little
- 21:29Speaker 6: bit more and catches up with everything else. Here's the hope,
- 21:32Speaker 6: and that he can stay healthy and get into an
- 21:34Speaker 6: NFL offseason program a full year and come back and
- 21:39Speaker 6: play seventeen games next season.
- 21:40Speaker 2: He's not gonna do it this year.
- 21:42Speaker 6: It remains to be seeing how many he can actually
- 21:44Speaker 6: play at full speed.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Hopefully it's a lot.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Hopefully he comes back into September, mid October, whenever it is,
- 21:51Speaker 6: and he plays the rest of the games.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I don't know if that's reality.
- 21:54Speaker 6: I don't know if that's realistic to think that he
- 21:57Speaker 6: would do that or potentially do that.
- 22:00Speaker 4: It's very hopeful.
- 22:00Speaker 6: Yeah, but I mean if he can get like, is
- 22:03Speaker 6: it a win at this point?
- 22:04Speaker 2: Is it a win?
- 22:04Speaker 6: If you can get what ten games out of him?
- 22:11Speaker 2: Is it a win? Like fully healthy?
- 22:13Speaker 3: Probably all four quarters ten quarters. You're never games. And
- 22:18Speaker 3: I hate to say it like this, I don't think
- 22:20Speaker 3: you're ever gonna get seventeen out of him.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I just don't think you are. And it's hard to
- 22:23Speaker 2: get seventeen out of any I.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Agree with you that receiver, right, and you're probably like,
- 22:27Speaker 3: you're hoping to average fourteen a year.
- 22:30Speaker 2: That's just what it is.
- 22:31Speaker 3: That was the risk reward when you drafted him, And
- 22:35Speaker 3: you're right, it's hard to get seventeen out of any receiver.
- 22:37Speaker 2: But if you can get fourteen.
- 22:39Speaker 3: So like this year, where're at right now, it feels
- 22:42Speaker 3: like ten might be a win. And I hate saying
- 22:44Speaker 3: that because it doesn't sound great. You're almost missing half
- 22:46Speaker 3: the games, but you're probably right now. I will say
- 22:49Speaker 3: what I think Mickey Loomis did a fantastic job of
- 22:53Speaker 3: was taking the chance, being okay, taking the risk to
- 22:59Speaker 3: draft Jordan because he was so electric. You wanted a
- 23:03Speaker 3: top ten receiver. He was the only one in this
- 23:05Speaker 3: draft that I thought was top ten. But because of
- 23:09Speaker 3: his injury history, you also draft Lance in the fourth
- 23:12Speaker 3: round and Brown in the sixth round. You protect yourself
- 23:15Speaker 3: a little bit because you've had years where you've had
- 23:20Speaker 3: some uber drivers playing receiver at the end of the year,
- 23:23Speaker 3: and you did not want that to happen again if
- 23:25Speaker 3: Jordan Tyson was out. So I do think that you're
- 23:29Speaker 3: set up so much better than you have been in
- 23:31Speaker 3: the past because you have Chris Olave.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Devon Veley has been really good.
- 23:35Speaker 2: As that turned out to be a good trade.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Yeah, at the time, we're like a fourth rounder for
- 23:39Speaker 3: a guy that's not even playing he was injured like
- 23:42Speaker 3: he was was Mickey playing chess, playing checkers. I think
- 23:45Speaker 3: I think that's the case because Jacksonville couldn't cover him
- 23:48Speaker 3: the other day. So, like, you still have four very
- 23:52Speaker 3: talented receivers, and look, they like Kevin Austin Jr. He
- 23:56Speaker 3: was out there a ton, Trey Palmer was out there
- 23:58Speaker 3: a ton with some guys that are going to be
- 24:00Speaker 3: on the fifty three, Like they weren't just in there
- 24:03Speaker 3: with the guys that aren't.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Gonna make the team.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So the receiver room is set up much better than
- 24:09Speaker 3: it has been in the past, even with the Jordan
- 24:12Speaker 3: Tyson injury, because I think, now I don't know this
- 24:15Speaker 3: to be fact, I think they probably looked at it
- 24:17Speaker 3: and said, we know the history here, we have to
- 24:20Speaker 3: protect ourselves. And so you go get a couple of
- 24:23Speaker 3: receivers and certainly very on Brown. When you walk into
- 24:26Speaker 3: the doors at Saints training camp, you can't go five
- 24:29Speaker 3: feet without hearing his name.
- 24:30Speaker 2: So he's been impressive.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And I think that's why you do it in the draft,
- 24:33Speaker 3: knowing that there's a chance that Tyson might not be
- 24:36Speaker 3: fully healthy for the year, and here we.
- 24:37Speaker 6: Are, yeah, and if he is, like, it's a grand
- 24:39Speaker 6: slam pick, and it's a grand slam room. And I
- 24:43Speaker 6: am I'm always very hesitant to say any rookies going
- 24:48Speaker 6: to be good or make a big impact in like
- 24:50Speaker 6: the overall wide receiver room or d B room, Like
- 24:52Speaker 6: I'm always heading like, you got to show me first,
- 24:54Speaker 6: you got to become a vet. Based on the short
- 24:57Speaker 6: clips that I saw from him running routes, like if
- 25:01Speaker 6: he is healthy and a lave is healthy, the way
- 25:03Speaker 6: that reports are coming out how he's playing, like you
- 25:06Speaker 6: start to become I'm not going to say, like one
- 25:09Speaker 6: of the best receiving corps in the NFL, but I
- 25:12Speaker 6: mean you're starting to talk about creeping into that top
- 25:15Speaker 6: ten range and like you're receiving corps, maybe I mean
- 25:17Speaker 6: top fifteen.
- 25:18Speaker 4: For sure, he is healthy because.
- 25:21Speaker 6: Nick told us yesterday last week against Jacksonville, Chris Lave
- 25:24Speaker 6: is best.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Player on the field.
- 25:26Speaker 8: He lost the look good Yester Dravis Hunter. Yesterday he
- 25:29Speaker 8: made the contested catch over Caleb Downs like he usually
- 25:32Speaker 8: doing what people asked him to do. And then like
- 25:34Speaker 8: Frice Lance, I don't know if it was Nick or
- 25:36Speaker 8: Rossby whoever put out that he was running his wide
- 25:38Speaker 8: receiver to yesterday. A guy you got out of the
- 25:40Speaker 8: fourth round. Twenty five touchdowns the last two years at
- 25:43Speaker 8: North Dakota State.
- 25:44Speaker 2: He's a big time player.
- 25:46Speaker 3: And again, I think the Saints went in with a
- 25:48Speaker 3: purpose in this draft. They knew they had to get
- 25:50Speaker 3: better at the position, y'all. The fact that Tyler Shuck
- 25:53Speaker 3: did what he did last year to end the season
- 25:56Speaker 3: with who he was throwing to is the most impressive
- 25:59Speaker 3: part of it all.
- 26:00Speaker 4: It's the most impressive.
- 26:02Speaker 3: There's gonna be guys that he was throwing to that
- 26:04Speaker 3: were in the starting eleven personnel that won't be in
- 26:06Speaker 3: the NFL maybe next year. Some of them aren't even
- 26:09Speaker 3: in the NFL right now in training camp, So you
- 26:12Speaker 3: had to protect yourself and I think they did a
- 26:14Speaker 3: good job.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Are idiot either one of those guys Jordan Tyson.
- 26:17Speaker 3: As far as the talent level, No, THEO is the
- 26:18Speaker 3: reason that they're fourth and six rounders. They got talent though,
- 26:21Speaker 3: they do have a skill set. And now it's on
- 26:24Speaker 3: Kellen Moore Doug nuss Meyer to put a game plan
- 26:27Speaker 3: together that if Jordan Tyson is out for the first
- 26:31Speaker 3: six weeks of the season whatever it ends up being,
- 26:33Speaker 3: that you can get the most out of those young players,
- 26:35Speaker 3: because I agree with you, Matt, they can't be the stars,
- 26:38Speaker 3: but they can be complimentary to the star, which is
- 26:41Speaker 3: Chris Alave.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Absolutely so Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 6: If I just hope he gets I hope he gets back.
- 26:47Speaker 6: If we got I think at this point, if you
- 26:49Speaker 6: get ten games out of Jordan Tyson, it's a big
- 26:50Speaker 6: it's a big time victory, like and you only need
- 26:54Speaker 6: nine or ten wins to probably win the division, right.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Think ten wins get gets you there? Ten wins you
- 27:00Speaker 2: are hosting a playoff game in New Orleans.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, and I think the Saints do have
- 27:05Speaker 3: the team to do that, even with this injury to
- 27:08Speaker 3: Jordan Tyson, something we hadn't even talked about that at
- 27:11Speaker 3: some point we can come back to Alvin Kamara right
- 27:14Speaker 3: now because he's not being asked to do everything. Looks
- 27:19Speaker 3: like he has a step that he hasn't had in
- 27:21Speaker 3: a couple of years. And that's not saying that like
- 27:23Speaker 3: Alvin's been back, because he hasn't been bad, but he
- 27:26Speaker 3: looks like four or five years ago Alvin Kamara because
- 27:29Speaker 3: now he doesn't have to be Travis a Chan like
- 27:33Speaker 3: that's his roles.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Was that big faith that fa All right, we'll take
- 27:40Speaker 4: a break.
- 27:40Speaker 3: We've got more OTB coming your way when we jump
- 27:43Speaker 3: back here live from the Raisin Kine Studio.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I go to trash rangers dot com.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Trash rangers dot com residential commercial trash pickup service.
- 27:53Speaker 2: They're gonna be there for you.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Don't forget roll off dumpsters as well, three different sizes
- 27:59Speaker 3: to choose from. So a call, tell them what your
- 28:01Speaker 3: project is. They're gonna make sure you have the right
- 28:02Speaker 3: sized dumpster on that project. And that's not all they
- 28:05Speaker 3: do is sanitation department. So if you have an event

- 28:38Speaker 6: there's a fuel surch charge, there was a tonnage fee,
- 28:41Speaker 6: there was whatever it was.
- 28:43Speaker 2: You don't want that. Make sure you're dealing with the best.
- 28:45Speaker 6: That's trash rangers dot com.
- 28:49Speaker 4: How you looking for me?
- 28:54Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 28:56Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 29:02Speaker 9: I know he know he you know, sue you forever
- 29:16Speaker 9: for me to you.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I heard somebody say, Judge, I'm gonna need a soup.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna need a coop.
- 29:22Speaker 3: I don't need a roof flying and beat the juice,
- 29:24Speaker 3: Beat the juice, beanle juice.
- 29:26Speaker 9: I got the float trying to see the roof didn't.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Well, all right, welcome back in TB. Well, just talked
- 29:36Speaker 3: really nice about Alvin Kamara. Then we got nicked up yesterday.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I thought it was nothing. It turns out he's gonna
- 29:42Speaker 3: miss at least a month the spring m c L.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Did we just curse him?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Maybe like literally we said it.
- 29:51Speaker 3: And then as we finish our commercial read Chef, he
- 29:55Speaker 3: puts out the news.
- 29:56Speaker 2: He's gonna miss this is it hurts you? He heard
- 29:59Speaker 2: you go, that's what did it? There goes this other one.
- 30:04Speaker 8: Right there, No, Matt, I was totally different. Break dude,
- 30:06Speaker 8: Kendre is gonna mess around to make this team again. Boy,
- 30:09Speaker 8: it just seems so certain that he didn't have a shot,
- 30:13Speaker 8: but estimate got banged up in the game. Now Kamara's
- 30:15Speaker 8: out for a month, like you got to keep him around. Well,
- 30:19Speaker 8: that's something changes. And then he was miraculously back at
- 30:21Speaker 8: practice shoes.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Every team in the end, there's thirty two teams dealing
- 30:24Speaker 6: with injuries, right, there's thirty two teams putting out announcements
- 30:28Speaker 6: that so and so is out for a couple of weeks.
- 30:31Speaker 6: It just feels like the Saints can't afford to have this,
- 30:36Speaker 6: you know, start had like this can't be a trend
- 30:38Speaker 6: that starting now. Now, I guess relatively ish healthy. I
- 30:43Speaker 6: know the first day wasn't great for training camp with
- 30:46Speaker 6: the Saints, but like I guess, at this point, I
- 30:50Speaker 6: felt like it's been relatively okay, right, and now we
- 30:53Speaker 6: get two like back to back days of getting folks
- 30:57Speaker 6: and key personnel that on offense. So I guess the
- 31:02Speaker 6: silver lining we're gonna keep going back to, Jake is
- 31:06Speaker 6: you still have talent and look at what they did last.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Year at the end with nobody around Tyler Scheck.
- 31:11Speaker 6: That's that's the narrative we're gonna keep going back to
- 31:14Speaker 6: until the kickoff in Week one. Until that point, we're
- 31:19Speaker 6: gonna keep talking about that if these injuries keep popping up,
- 31:23Speaker 6: that's the only thing to be hopeful for.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I guess, you know, perfect nail it. You did.
- 31:33Speaker 7: Stop, you're gonna keep all of them are gonna go
- 31:38Speaker 7: down every time you do that.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah, don't do that like a voodoo man. I really
- 31:43Speaker 2: thought like it was gonna be like a couple of
- 31:45Speaker 2: day things. Yeah, a month, all right, somebody's.
- 31:50Speaker 7: Weapons breakout stars for the Saints this season, Kendre Miller
- 31:54Speaker 7: and bub means, Yeah, those are.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Of a college football player, So like it's not crazy
- 32:00Speaker 3: to say he would.
- 32:01Speaker 6: Be you would you would rather that month start right
- 32:04Speaker 6: now than start a.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Month a month from now? Yeah?
- 32:08Speaker 2: Right, yeah, sons, Yeah, it'd be about a two week
- 32:15Speaker 2: season start.
- 32:16Speaker 7: First round draft pick out for two months, the veteran
- 32:21Speaker 7: of the running back room out for a month. But
- 32:23Speaker 7: you're right, I'd rather have a mountain now.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Then.
- 32:26Speaker 6: It's it's not a killer. I mean, it's a piece
- 32:28Speaker 6: that you want to have. But like there was times
- 32:30Speaker 6: during the off season we didn't even think we would
- 32:31Speaker 6: have tomorrow on the train, right, So look, look there's
- 32:34Speaker 6: there is some silver line in there. It's not like
- 32:36Speaker 6: a I mean it's a blow, but it's not a
- 32:40Speaker 6: not a depth and I.
- 32:41Speaker 8: Think you did a good job at building depth at
- 32:44Speaker 8: both of those positions.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Like this is not.
- 32:48Speaker 8: dB where you're thin line where you don't know what's
- 32:51Speaker 8: going to happen outside of the top five.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Like running back receiver. I think you can survive this.
- 32:58Speaker 3: So we're back, So you're gonna have have you know,
- 33:00Speaker 3: ty Chandler certainly looked good and what he.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Can do seems a game like that adds value, so
- 33:06Speaker 2: you sign him.
- 33:07Speaker 4: I mean, he's certainly got a lot of carries in
- 33:08Speaker 4: the NFL.
- 33:09Speaker 8: So Devin Neil was back yesterday with Kendre they were
- 33:13Speaker 8: both back, So you got you still got a chain.
- 33:16Speaker 8: I think all your guess is going to be fine.
- 33:19Speaker 8: That's still five backs right there.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Just rump the brakes on. It is a chan Hey,
- 33:25Speaker 2: come on, get the man's name right.
- 33:28Speaker 7: That's a respect on.
- 33:29Speaker 2: With some respect on that name.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Although Dan Morgan, who is the GM of the Carolina Panthers,
- 33:35Speaker 3: did tell me he's like, m hm, he's because he's
- 33:38Speaker 3: got Trevor.
- 33:39Speaker 2: He's got the brother. He goes he's going to be
- 33:41Speaker 2: Trevor and for us, okay, So I was I was
- 33:42Speaker 2: wondered that, yes, he had enough time to we were
- 33:45Speaker 2: talking with Nick. He's like, Trevor come out and said
- 33:48Speaker 2: that his name's Yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 7: What's your brother's name Travis is just trying to.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Embrace the culture talk.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I talked with like Travis about and he's just like, like,
- 33:56Speaker 3: he goes, I know everybody thinks I'm lying, goes like
- 33:58Speaker 3: ask my high school coach.
- 34:00Speaker 2: She's always been this.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just like Trevor Lawrence and Davo didn't get
- 34:04Speaker 3: it right, and so he's like, I just went with it.
- 34:07Speaker 2: It's not the first time we've seen that. By the
- 34:08Speaker 2: time people have.
- 34:09Speaker 7: I mean we talked about Rihanna.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Garantano, the old quarterback for Tennessee seven years.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so wait, you said Rihanna. It's Rihanna, Rihanna.
- 34:22Speaker 2: That's what they say.
- 34:22Speaker 7: I guess read herself said that.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Yeah, makes sense.
- 34:27Speaker 7: But I think she just kind of accepted that everybody
- 34:28Speaker 7: calls her Rihanna. Yeah, wait, what is it again, Rihanna?
- 34:32Speaker 2: Rihanna. Rihanna's tough better Yeah, mo exotic. I love Rihanna.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Yeah, like as well, Oh, she'd come back for Sea.
- 34:44Speaker 7: She hasn't made music since like twenty sixteen. Really, yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 7: she's just been making like make up. I think she
- 34:49Speaker 7: has lingerie.
- 34:50Speaker 2: She had a couple of children. If has like four.
- 34:52Speaker 7: Kids with Rocky Rihanna.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Who is this?
- 34:56Speaker 2: We've just been talking about it. I'll thought, y'all move
- 35:00Speaker 2: on to someone named She's.
- 35:01Speaker 8: Really good nickname. She was really good at Super Bowl
- 35:05Speaker 8: a couple of years ago.
- 35:07Speaker 2: You did you did it? Od? She got Caucasian ounked
- 35:15Speaker 2: who Rihanna?
- 35:16Speaker 4: We just said that.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I know, well, I thought, never mind, get.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Whatever, just stop, just stop.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I think we're a little all on edge because another injury.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Stop the well m c L It's fine.
- 35:30Speaker 7: Who hasn't sprained their m CL before. I feel like
- 35:33Speaker 7: that's something that everybody sprayed their m CL before.
- 35:36Speaker 6: I mean, if you're a good athlete, you're gonna get it. Yeah,
- 35:37Speaker 6: you're gonna get it at some point.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I remember having to wear like the fattest knee brace
- 35:42Speaker 3: when I did sprain the largest, I mean just.
- 35:44Speaker 7: The biggest, and then everybody at school is just you
- 35:46Speaker 7: feel like everyone's staring at you, and you feel like
- 35:49Speaker 7: you're doing it for attention.
- 35:51Speaker 2: I didn't get to misspractice.
- 35:53Speaker 6: Yeah, but again, yours is more from contact, not from
- 35:55Speaker 6: the quick twitch for sure.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Do you think I think you're forgetting who's faster between us? Too?
- 36:03Speaker 3: Again, scientifically, we can look at the numbers of the
- 36:08Speaker 3: NFL Combat.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Yep, we're half the age.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Yeah, you don't have a weight room in your third garage.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but I go to so do I.
- 36:20Speaker 3: So does a Landra True. So what that tells me
- 36:23Speaker 3: we can all beat Taylor in the race? Got to
- 36:27Speaker 3: go to juvei Me Medical dot com shout out thirteen

- 36:42Speaker 3: Tweet right there, Travis, whoa, whoa, No, nobody, nobody, nobody else.

- 36:58Speaker 3: you throughout the state of louis You're in, you're out,

- 37:17Speaker 2: Me too.
- 37:20Speaker 7: They're not even paying me to say that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: That's true. I feel great, So should you.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Matthew, how do you feel about the quarterback play in
- 37:31Speaker 3: the Saints preseason game, because the practice that I went to,
- 37:36Speaker 3: Tyler Shuck and Spencer Rattler were just dison it up.
- 37:39Speaker 3: And I know Rattler had a fumble in the preseason
- 37:42Speaker 3: that everybody Rattler feels like a player that for some reason,
- 37:47Speaker 3: like diehard Saints fans just will not get behind.
- 37:50Speaker 7: No, No, he's which is crazy because I'm a Saints
- 37:53Speaker 7: fan and I.
- 37:54Speaker 6: Love him for whatever, and there's I think a lot
- 37:57Speaker 6: of things are split. I think with a lot of
- 37:58Speaker 6: people he's just worn out. Its welcome, you know, it weird,
- 38:02Speaker 6: which is weird.
- 38:02Speaker 7: It's truly done anything to wear it out. I mean
- 38:05Speaker 7: he was just at that Team Kate event, like raising
- 38:07Speaker 7: awareness for this little girl that needs a bone marrow?
- 38:09Speaker 7: Is that not good enough for y'all?
- 38:11Speaker 2: I love Spencer Rowler. I think I think he's got
- 38:14Speaker 2: a future in the NFL. It's not with the Saints.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Yeah, They've got their guy in Tyler Shuba. That's okay.
- 38:18Speaker 7: Who said the Jets the other day?
- 38:20Speaker 5: Me?
- 38:21Speaker 3: I said, I said that to my coast on the NFL,
- 38:24Speaker 3: and Pat worked for the Jets for a long time.
- 38:26Speaker 2: It was like multiple years. You guys, don't do that
- 38:29Speaker 2: to him that man like but like the Jets have weapons.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Yeah, they do.
- 38:35Speaker 2: I mean they drafted some.
- 38:37Speaker 3: I don't know that Mickey would be willing to right
- 38:39Speaker 3: now move on from Spencer because I kind of asked
- 38:41Speaker 3: him about it the other day. We really like where
- 38:44Speaker 3: our quarterback room is right now, He goes, last year,
- 38:47Speaker 3: I go, yeah, I was here last year. We interviewed
- 38:49Speaker 3: three quarterbacks because you didn't know who the guy was.
- 38:51Speaker 3: He goes, yeah, look at where we're at now. We
- 38:53Speaker 3: feel really good about where we're at, he said, we
- 38:55Speaker 3: got three guys that we feel like are NFL players.
- 38:58Speaker 6: I thought the quarterback play was really good the other day, obviously,
- 39:01Speaker 6: Zach Wilson was super fun to watch.
- 39:03Speaker 4: That.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Like again, the second half of preseason games, especially like
- 39:06Speaker 6: Week one, it's really exciting. It's it's fun to watch
- 39:10Speaker 6: because people are making plays. You see breakdown, you see
- 39:13Speaker 6: bus you you you uh. You see quarterbacks with that
- 39:16Speaker 6: are have a really good skill set, that can that
- 39:19Speaker 6: have an opportunity to play to make a lot of plays,
- 39:21Speaker 6: and he certainly did. He took advantage of every opportunity
- 39:23Speaker 6: that he had and made good throws. Was very accurate.
- 39:26Speaker 6: You know, I thought Spencer played played like he like
- 39:31Speaker 6: I kind of expected to. Like early first preseason game,
- 39:35Speaker 6: you got your starters out there, you're playing against the
- 39:37Speaker 6: starting defense. Again, they're they're not going to starting defenses
- 39:41Speaker 6: and preseason aren't going to give away anything deep when
- 39:44Speaker 6: they're playing base cover three, cover four. So he hit
- 39:49Speaker 6: the open guy. Sometimes it didn't win enough for a
- 39:52Speaker 6: first down, like he I think he was eight eleven
- 39:55Speaker 6: for what forty two yards forty eight yards something like that. Uh,
- 39:58Speaker 6: can't make the can't make a play happen with a
- 40:00Speaker 6: you can't throw the ball to estimate that if the
- 40:04Speaker 6: kid had blown out his knee.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Can't do that.
- 40:05Speaker 6: Those two things, and you put those two things at
- 40:08Speaker 6: a short sample size. But like we said, like everything
- 40:13Speaker 6: in a game like that, when you practiced against the
- 40:15Speaker 6: Jaguars for a couple of days, the coaches and evaluators
- 40:19Speaker 6: and the people the front office folks.
- 40:22Speaker 2: They are going to make their decisions.
- 40:25Speaker 6: Roster decisions, depth chart decisions based on the practice more
- 40:29Speaker 6: so than just the game. So that's everything's a calculation, right,
- 40:34Speaker 6: everything is. And but what they were able to do
- 40:37Speaker 6: in practice is going to go so much further than
- 40:39Speaker 6: what they were able to do in the game.
- 40:40Speaker 2: And I thought in the game.
- 40:41Speaker 6: I thought Spencer played, took what he was given and
- 40:45Speaker 6: didn't press the ball down the field. Because you have
- 40:49Speaker 6: starting NFL defensive backs that went to the playoffs last
- 40:51Speaker 6: year back playing cover three and taking away the deep
- 40:54Speaker 6: part of the field.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And Zach Wilson should probably as a number two overall
- 40:58Speaker 3: pick with his talent, he should go out there and
- 41:01Speaker 3: be successful against who he was going against.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Now, you still got to go do it.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Credit to him. Yeah, No, I thought he did great.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:06Speaker 6: I thought if every quarterback for the Saints plays really well, that's.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Great for the Saints.
- 41:11Speaker 2: I agree.
- 41:12Speaker 6: I don't see why anybody would think otherwise, and I
- 41:15Speaker 6: feel like some people do.
- 41:16Speaker 2: All right, we'll take a break more OTB when we
- 41:18Speaker 2: come back here live from the Raisin Kines studio.
- 41:20Speaker 4: Off the bench, all right, go to Central Plumbing dot org.

- 43:10Speaker 3: All right, Welcome back in oh TV here live from
- 43:12Speaker 3: the Raisin Kanes studio, Cold Wolf back back in the building.
- 43:17Speaker 7: I didn't know this song started this slow and something
- 43:19Speaker 7: that's like here, I go again.
- 43:22Speaker 2: It's great.
- 43:23Speaker 3: The thing about eighties music that I love was the
- 43:26Speaker 3: slow build. Yeah, like the slow build to the end incredible.
- 43:34Speaker 7: That's what he didn't like about Dreams and Nightmares.
- 43:37Speaker 3: It never got there, though, yes it did, just like
- 43:40Speaker 3: in the air tonight, Like, think about how long Phil
- 43:42Speaker 3: Collins build, dude.
- 43:43Speaker 8: It's like it's like the moment the entire song. Yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 8: it's like it's like two and a half minutes of build.
- 43:47Speaker 8: You just wait and then that and then the song
- 43:50Speaker 8: to other.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Great stir Away to Heaven. Yeah, I said, all these
- 43:55Speaker 2: great eighties songs just what I love about him. Yeah,
- 43:57Speaker 2: Dreams of Nightmares, think that whatever.
- 44:00Speaker 7: It did, it was a slow build and then he
- 44:03Speaker 7: drops it.
- 44:04Speaker 2: It didn't really drop.
- 44:05Speaker 1: It, Yes, he does not the good listen again, define
- 44:09Speaker 1: a drop man.
- 44:11Speaker 6: Well, okay, it never got good.
- 44:17Speaker 7: I can accept that more than you saying it never.
- 44:19Speaker 6: Yeah, it gets faster and good is probably the drop
- 44:23Speaker 6: for me. What it's an opinion, so that means it's
- 44:30Speaker 6: fact damning wing. How's it feel? How does it feel
- 44:36Speaker 6: to be back? We're almost feel two hours into this thing.
- 44:38Speaker 6: It feels good.
- 44:38Speaker 2: I cannot wait to get on a routine. I cannot
- 44:43Speaker 2: wait too, I'm gonna do this show.
- 44:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna go have lunch with the girls, and then
- 44:51Speaker 3: I am going to do the afternoon radio show from
- 44:54Speaker 3: my home studio. Like that's that's that's pretty normal for
- 44:58Speaker 3: me do this show. I have lunch with Katie and
- 45:00Speaker 3: and then I do the afternoon show from home.
- 45:04Speaker 2: So we feel good to do it from real nice with.
- 45:06Speaker 3: My you know, my giant coffee in hand and five
- 45:09Speaker 3: minute breaks we have and I can just get out
- 45:11Speaker 3: see how everybody's day was at school. Then have a
- 45:15Speaker 3: little flag football practice after today, because I'm way behind
- 45:19Speaker 3: that flag football starts today. Well, we have one practical
- 45:23Speaker 3: two practices so far. But you know there was a
- 45:27Speaker 3: time when when they used to start.
- 45:28Speaker 6: Like fourth of July time, Like oh yeah, usually been
- 45:32Speaker 6: practicing for about four months.
- 45:33Speaker 2: But are you doing that? Note?
- 45:35Speaker 6: Yeah, this is the first year in a while we
- 45:36Speaker 6: hadn't done flag football because we got the helmets on
- 45:40Speaker 6: this year.
- 45:40Speaker 2: How's huck like in the helmet bro let me? We
- 45:42Speaker 2: tried to warn him the other day.
- 45:44Speaker 6: It has been hot, hot the last few days, and
- 45:47Speaker 6: like they're doing all the right things.
- 45:49Speaker 2: That's why I was asking docs.
- 45:50Speaker 6: It's so fresh on my mind, like they are if
- 45:51Speaker 6: it gets to a certain level, like the middle school
- 45:53Speaker 6: kids they can't be like the varsity can go out
- 45:56Speaker 6: there with like no helmets and stuff on, but like
- 45:58Speaker 6: they have to. They're very regulated when it comes to
- 46:02Speaker 6: the heat.
- 46:02Speaker 2: And it's a.
- 46:04Speaker 6: But yesterday they got out there and they did a
- 46:07Speaker 6: lot with just helmets on or without without them on,
- 46:10Speaker 6: and they put them on for a little bit and
- 46:11Speaker 6: did a little bit of tackling. But it's been great, man,
- 46:13Speaker 6: it's been fun. No like tears or no sadness like
- 46:16Speaker 6: no football price is never fun like as long as
- 46:19Speaker 6: it's not like miserable, you know what I mean?
- 46:21Speaker 2: Real quick? When'd you ever have fun in practice?
- 46:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't happen. Now, does Huck have the red
- 46:26Speaker 3: mark on his forehead?
- 46:27Speaker 2: No? New technology is incredible and that is remarkable. All right,
- 46:31Speaker 2: we'll be back out number three of OTV.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 46:36Speaker 2: All right.
- 46:36Speaker 6: When you think about Louisiana, you think about energy, and
