- 0:01Western scientists tell us that the universe is always tending
- 0:05towards a state of lower energy and less organization, a concept
- 0:11they call entropy. While this concept was developed
- 0:15and applied in the field of physics, particularly in the law
- 0:19of thermodynamics, it has been extended and claimed to apply
- 0:24throughout many levels of existence, and some even claim
- 0:28that it is so pervasive that eventually all of existence will
- 0:33reach a status of equilibrium in total dispersal, emptiness and
- 0:39lack of cohesion. The concept of the expanding
- 0:42universe and the increasing dispersion of the energy at work
- 0:46in the universe is claimed to be the result of increasing entropy
- 0:52in furtherance of this theory. On the other side of the debate
- 0:57however, is the idea that we can see an evolution of
- 1:01consciousness that shows an increasing level of integration,
- 1:05complexity and organization and thus acts as a counterweight to
- 1:11entropy. This is similar to the counter
- 1:15balancing forces of centrifugal and centripetal force.
- 1:20One of these pulls systems apart, the other pushes them
- 1:25together. There is a dynamic tension
- 1:28between the two forces that leads to potential disruptions.
- 1:33When the two interact, we can see the same thing when it comes
- 1:37to the forces of existence. The force of increasing
- 1:41consciousness Confronted by the force of decreasing
- 1:44consciousness, the forces of progress versus the forces of
- 1:48retrogression, the force of development versus the force of
- 1:54dissolution. When the opposing forces meet
- 1:58and interact, we can expect to see unanticipated results and
- 2:03situations arise. This is the point at which what
- 2:08we term accidents tend to arise. We can see this interaction
- 2:13occur on all levels, physical, vital, emotional, and mental, as
- 2:20well as the points where these different domains interact with
- 2:22one another. There are forces that actively
- 2:26work to create disharmony and dissolution, just as there are
- 2:31forces that actively work toward harmony and unity.
- 2:37If an individual begins to become conscious and aware of
- 2:40the play of these forces, the movements that both support and
- 2:44oppose the progress one is attempting to make, the growth
- 2:48one is experiencing, it becomes possible to modify, ameliorate,
- 2:54or even avoid many of these accidents.
- 2:58Observation and a calm discernment are the key to
- 3:03minimizing the influence of accidents in the life.
- 3:07While there may be forces or circumstances beyond one's
- 3:10control, at least a certain number of them fall within the
- 3:14realm of individual action. In some cases, associating the
- 3:19thought and focus on the guru, the supportive forces or the
- 3:24chosen deity can add their influence into the situation to
- 3:30aid in meeting the opposing force more effectively.
- 3:35The mother notes, quote accidents are due to many
- 3:40things. In fact, they are the result of
- 3:43a conflict of the forces in nature, a conflict between the
- 3:47forces of growth and progress and the forces of destruction.
- 3:52When there is an accident, an accident that has lasting
- 3:56results, it is always the result of a more or less partial
- 4:01victory of the adverse forces, that is, of the forces of
- 4:07disintegration, disorganization. End Quote.
