- 0:06Speaker 1: Could we see institutional really shifting into an eighth platform today,
- 0:10Speaker 1: we'll break it down for you. My name is Small Barrel,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Welcome back in the tech path. I want to thank
- 0:14Speaker 1: our sponsor today. That's Coinbase. Coinbase is a place for
- 0:16Speaker 1: you guys to go and get started in crypto and
- 0:19Speaker 1: it's very easy to get enrolled. Get started. You connect
- 0:22Speaker 1: it to your bank account, put a little bit of
- 0:24Speaker 1: money in there and make your first trade where you
- 0:26Speaker 1: go out and buy some ethereum bitcoin, whatever it might be, It'slana,
- 0:29Speaker 1: you name it. It's all available right there. The future
- 0:31Speaker 1: of money is here. Use our link down below. You're
- 0:33Speaker 1: going to get up to two hundred bucks in crypto
- 0:36Speaker 1: to get started. Keyword. They're up to two hundred dollars,
- 0:39Speaker 1: so check it out. Use our link.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Now.
- 0:41Speaker 1: We've been talking about this topic for quite some time,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and that is is that major institutions and investment categories
- 0:49Speaker 1: are starting to look at Ethereum over bitcoin for the
- 0:52Speaker 1: future potential of where blockchain is going. We all know why.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I mean, the idea of ethereum is a working blockchain,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and this is something we've covered for quite a bit.
- 1:02Speaker 1: That was a good example of Microsoft right there but
- 1:05Speaker 1: CME group was going to introduce tokenization technology now to
- 1:09Speaker 1: enhance capital market efficiency and they're using Google Clouds new
- 1:13Speaker 1: Universal Ledger. And this is kind of interesting because when
- 1:16Speaker 1: you look at cm let me kind of zoom in
- 1:18Speaker 1: on that for you guys, you'll notice that they offer
- 1:21Speaker 1: this exchange offers the widest range of global bench more
- 1:23Speaker 1: products across all sorts of things, interesting, equity, foreign exchange,
- 1:27Speaker 1: is energy, you name it. These guys are involved in
- 1:30Speaker 1: a lot of that. So again this is very positive
- 1:32Speaker 1: I think for the eight blockchain in general. They also
- 1:36Speaker 1: reported record annual adv of twenty six point five million contracts,
- 1:41Speaker 1: so that's the amount of contracts that are in the
- 1:44Speaker 1: system right now, and they're looking at growing that across
- 1:47Speaker 1: all asset classes. So one of the things I want
- 1:50Speaker 1: to jump to is Google, because Google has launched their
- 1:52Speaker 1: Ethereum compatible blockchain RPC service. Now, this is an issue
- 1:56Speaker 1: that caused a little bit of a struggle because they
- 1:59Speaker 1: did run into the transactional side of things. So within
- 2:03Speaker 1: this you've got Google Cloud, dontch Telecom, Alibaba, quite a
- 2:06Speaker 1: few that are now joining Zeta chain as which is
- 2:10Speaker 1: running on Ethereum. So let me go to a clip
- 2:12Speaker 1: real quick kind of explain this a little bit more.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Take a look Zeta chain collaborates with Google Cloud to
- 2:18Speaker 3: activate a validator on the blockchain, supporting fully compatible universal
- 2:24Speaker 3: apps that spend all chains.
- 2:27Speaker 4: From our perspective at Google, wasn't just the large institutions
- 2:31Speaker 4: that we were going after, but it would also be
- 2:34Speaker 4: sort of the newer developers who are looking to build
- 2:37Speaker 4: and not rack up a ton of costs.
- 2:39Speaker 5: So, you know, that is probably best born out by
- 2:41Speaker 5: the fact that we have currently an Ethereum RPC service
- 2:44Speaker 5: that's you know, one hundred qps free, and so the
- 2:47Speaker 5: goal is to really provide the developer tooling not just
- 2:49Speaker 5: for a couple chains, but for every chain that we can.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So, as you can see here on Zata scan, they're
- 2:54Speaker 1: already starting to move into cross train transactions right now
- 2:57Speaker 1: one point three million right there. But if you look
- 2:59Speaker 1: at the train as actions themselves, they're already moving in
- 3:02Speaker 1: right there between polygon base, et cetera. This of course
- 3:05Speaker 1: starts to go into the next phase of this, and
- 3:08Speaker 1: this is where aglare comes in. This is kind of interesting.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Aglair is going to able one click chain, a line
- 3:14Speaker 1: stable coin with deep liquidity. This is where it changes
- 3:17Speaker 1: TVL altogether. It's really going to be an interesting, I
- 3:21Speaker 1: think transition that we'll see in blockchain and all of
- 3:24Speaker 1: this again is because blockchain could be the new driving
- 3:28Speaker 1: force here around a lot of these assets. So polymarket
- 3:31Speaker 1: is launching on enabling Solana deposits. This is another thing.
- 3:35Speaker 1: This is kind of an interesting move because I think
- 3:37Speaker 1: a lot of people were very happy I guess maybe
- 3:40Speaker 1: of what this meant. However, there's a little bit of
- 3:43Speaker 1: a hidden got you there. Solana community is celebrating an
- 3:47Speaker 1: EVM app implementing a bridge to off ramp Soul from
- 3:51Speaker 1: their ecosystem. Then you could dump it for USDC and
- 3:56Speaker 1: then you use it on an eathl too. So that
- 3:59Speaker 1: is that's a bit of an interesting move there, And
- 4:03Speaker 1: I think the point being is is that where this
- 4:06Speaker 1: could take is continues to showcase why eath could be
- 4:09Speaker 1: a sleeper in this market. Other things I want to
- 4:13Speaker 1: hit on right now is polygon proof stake should be
- 4:16Speaker 1: using account abstraction. One note they had here is this
- 4:19Speaker 1: will become even easier for to to do on apps
- 4:22Speaker 1: on any chain once that aglair. Let me kind of
- 4:25Speaker 1: zoom in on that is fully distributed across all changes
- 4:27Speaker 1: that's coming, and that will really start to change things
- 4:30Speaker 1: quite a bit. Let me go to this next clip
- 4:32Speaker 1: because this will give you a little bit more insight
- 4:34Speaker 1: on what ag lare will do to boost ethereum.
- 4:37Speaker 6: Take a look on the side of like the AG layer.
- 4:40Speaker 6: That's the direction that we will be pointing people towards
- 4:42Speaker 6: very shortly. It's using any sort of liquidity that you
- 4:45Speaker 6: have in your wallet, connecting it to a seamless connectivity
- 4:48Speaker 6: layer that allows you to play anywhere, right regardless if
- 4:50Speaker 6: it's hole in your wallet, regardless if you have sole
- 4:52Speaker 6: on your wallet, whatever it is. We're building the rails
- 4:55Speaker 6: to ensure that these things work that much more seamless.
- 4:57Speaker 6: If you add up all the teams that are pointing
- 5:00Speaker 6: towards the AG layer, you're adding up eighty five percent
- 5:02Speaker 6: of the gaming ecosystem as a whole.
- 5:05Speaker 1: All right, So he's talking about the gaming ecosystem right there,
- 5:08Speaker 1: And if you think about gaming ecosystem, then you've got
- 5:11Speaker 1: to kind of look at what's going on with on
- 5:13Speaker 1: chain usage right now on Sonium, and this continues to
- 5:17Speaker 1: trend up, so we're probably going to see a little
- 5:19Speaker 1: bit more activity here. This is kind of another good
- 5:22Speaker 1: example of this on Polygon. Look at this right here.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Let me kind of zoom in on this, because I
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't think we can show that Polygon flips base by
- 5:29Speaker 1: a number of addresses now using USDC. So again, big
- 5:33Speaker 1: strike up. Maybe Polygon is super undervalued right now. I
- 5:37Speaker 1: don't know. Let me know down in the comments what
- 5:38Speaker 1: you guys think. How would you play some of these investments?
- 5:41Speaker 1: Are you holding Ether over Soul? Would you bet on both?
- 5:45Speaker 1: Is Polygon in your portfolio right now? Let me know
- 5:48Speaker 1: what you guys are doing. Let me go over to
- 5:50Speaker 1: this Visa report. This shows remember Visa chose poly or
- 5:53Speaker 1: excuse me, chose Salana, and you can already see right
- 5:57Speaker 1: here on total that Polygon is actually outpacing Salona. Let
- 6:01Speaker 1: me kind of zoom in on that right there, at
- 6:02Speaker 1: two point seven versus two point two. All right, so
- 6:04Speaker 1: let me show you something here on tokenized private credit
- 6:07Speaker 1: and this is kind of interesting. Let's go over here
- 6:09Speaker 1: and I'll zoom in on this chart and you'll notice
- 6:12Speaker 1: right here, obviously Ethereum the top dog here that we're
- 6:16Speaker 1: talking about, but you also look at Polygon's move over Solana.
- 6:20Speaker 1: This is intriguing because it's almost seven ex that with that,
- 6:24Speaker 1: along with other real world asset data, this is institutional
- 6:27Speaker 1: alternative funds again, eth leading out the way in terms
- 6:32Speaker 1: of overall growth continues to climb up too, so tokenized
- 6:35Speaker 1: assets and securities in general. This could be the beginning
- 6:40Speaker 1: of where a lot of these institutions are truly starting
- 6:43Speaker 1: to make their choice going forward on ethereum, and I
- 6:46Speaker 1: think this is the factor that everybody's looking at. Let
- 6:49Speaker 1: me hit on another headline right here. XRP surged at
- 6:52Speaker 1: Solona's futures ETFs made an unremarkable twelve million dollars debut,
- 6:56Speaker 1: meaning simply, when you look at the potent of what
- 7:00Speaker 1: these ETFs can do ripple XRP banker's coin bank coin
- 7:05Speaker 1: using potential cross border transactions. Solana is all about fast
- 7:10Speaker 1: and easy, and I think that's the scenario because there's
- 7:13Speaker 1: a lot of chains that are going faster than Solana
- 7:16Speaker 1: even right now. Now, Bloomberg tried to break this down
- 7:18Speaker 1: a little bit. Take a look.
- 7:20Speaker 7: They're just futures, yes, but then it's still a big
- 7:22Speaker 7: thing because it's the first Salona linked product and everyone
- 7:24Speaker 7: is excited, especially crypto Faithful's so ETHERUS and old coin,
- 7:27Speaker 7: but it's the biggest old coin, and then Solana is
- 7:29Speaker 7: the next. It's actually the sixth largest old coin, but
- 7:32Speaker 7: it's an old coin. Okay, so this this mean it
- 7:34Speaker 7: paves the way for all other aut coins that there's XRP,
- 7:37Speaker 7: so that's why everyone is pretty excited. Either is the
- 7:40Speaker 7: backbone of the Ethereum blockchain.
- 7:42Speaker 1: What does Salona bring to the table here?
- 7:44Speaker 7: You can just think of it as the rival of Ethereum,
- 7:46Speaker 7: and in fact many would say that it's even better
- 7:48Speaker 7: in Ethereum in some ways, it's faster, it's a little
- 7:51Speaker 7: cheaper by some metrics. But then XRP is the fourth
- 7:54Speaker 7: largest coin, but it has some legal challenges.
- 7:58Speaker 6: What specifically are folks in the chef world looking for.
- 8:01Speaker 7: Last week, there was an ETF that tracks pengu So
- 8:05Speaker 7: it's a cute little penguin. I urge you to google it.
- 8:07Speaker 7: After it's an NFT. There's one that's called.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Sui, right, so that's Bloomberg. That's one of the top
- 8:14Speaker 1: financial networks out there. That's a problem I think for
- 8:17Speaker 1: crypto in general is understanding if traditional institutions don't truly
- 8:22Speaker 1: understand what the benefits of many of these tokens and
- 8:25Speaker 1: projects can bring to the table. It's going to be
- 8:29Speaker 1: difficult for us to see investment going in now, granted institutions.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I think, you know, when you think about the nerds
- 8:35Speaker 1: of institutions who are trying to figure out what rails
- 8:37Speaker 1: to go on, they probably get it a little bit more.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But I think from the front side of it, many
- 8:42Speaker 1: people are trying to figure out what do you invest in.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Here's a good example of easy to understand this is
- 8:47Speaker 1: going over to cryptoslam. This is where people that are collectibles.
- 8:51Speaker 1: If you're a Pokemon collectible, you know all about this
- 8:53Speaker 1: collector out there. But Courtyard is the number one place
- 8:55Speaker 1: where this is happening. Again, riding on Polygon for those
- 8:59Speaker 1: transactions current if you look at NFT sales by volume,
- 9:03Speaker 1: eth still leads the way. But guess who number two
- 9:06Speaker 1: is right now, Polygon coming in right there again over
- 9:09Speaker 1: Mintho's chain based bitcoin, and then Salana all the way
- 9:11Speaker 1: down here. So they definitely have not necessarily positioned themselves
- 9:16Speaker 1: out of NFT. Maybe they were known as the meme
- 9:18Speaker 1: coin token, But I think what you've got to get
- 9:21Speaker 1: is a differentiator in the market to be able to
- 9:24Speaker 1: really excel into this next level. This is going to
- 9:27Speaker 1: be super important because as we move into mainstreaming crypto
- 9:32Speaker 1: and blockchain, getting a good message out of these blockchains
- 9:36Speaker 1: is going to be critical going forward. Now a good message,
- 9:39Speaker 1: let's talk about that. You got Bitcoin maxi issues right here,
- 9:42Speaker 1: because you've got a stable coin now on Ethereum coming
- 9:45Speaker 1: in from Custodia Bank, who right there launched an ERC
- 9:49Speaker 1: twenty standard eight main net stable coin. That's right, guys,
- 9:54Speaker 1: that's where bitcoin lovers now realize they're having to go
- 9:57Speaker 1: and utilize the ERC twenty standard for the stable coins
- 10:01Speaker 1: and the potential. We're going to see a lot of
- 10:03Speaker 1: banks and other entities launching stable coins, and obviously I
- 10:07Speaker 1: think it's going to be mostly on ERC. Let's talk
- 10:10Speaker 1: about securities real quick. We've had Carlos on the show before.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Remember they're very tied into black Rock, but Biddle is
- 10:16Speaker 1: now on Solana. This again is like a year later.
- 10:19Speaker 1: We've already seen this activity on Avalanche eth clearly, and
- 10:23Speaker 1: for them to go now on or at least on Solana,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I don't know is this the third selection or not.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I think it still is going to be a major
- 10:32Speaker 1: factor for both avalanche and eth going forward on token
- 10:35Speaker 1: is securities. Let's jump over to this event right here,
- 10:38Speaker 1: which is exchanged twenty twenty five. This is essentially all
- 10:41Speaker 1: the all stars of the ETF world, and this is
- 10:45Speaker 1: important because it will give us a little bit of
- 10:47Speaker 1: an insight where this market is trending. To take a
- 10:51Speaker 1: look at this next clip.
- 10:52Speaker 8: You don't get a chance to have these kinds of
- 10:54Speaker 8: all stars. And those who don't know we're in a
- 10:56Speaker 8: gigantic convention hall. Our viewers love their money market funds.
- 11:01Speaker 8: I mean, four percent makes perfect sense to them. That
- 11:05Speaker 8: is a very sticky group of people. It is hard
- 11:07Speaker 8: to move them out even with twenty percent twenty two
- 11:09Speaker 8: percent in the S and P five hundred. Last year,
- 11:12Speaker 8: we had what six trillion dollars in money market funds.
- 11:14Speaker 1: They didn't move.
- 11:15Speaker 8: We kept saying, when is this going to move? And
- 11:17Speaker 8: it didn't move.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Well, it didn't move. Those balances remain high and we
- 11:20Speaker 2: saw a record for the ETF industry last year. So
- 11:23Speaker 2: it goes to show you that money is coming from
- 11:24Speaker 2: somewhere else, and it's actually a bullish sign for additional flow.
- 11:28Speaker 8: I've had issues with bitcoin and a use case for
- 11:31Speaker 8: bitcoin for a while, I've been a big backer of
- 11:33Speaker 8: blockchain in general. Is bitcoin a unique use case in
- 11:37Speaker 8: the crypto community or can you do it with ether?
- 11:40Speaker 8: Solano or other forms.
- 11:42Speaker 9: Of Ethereum and a lot of other digital assets are
- 11:44Speaker 9: more kind of a bed on the disruptive abilities of
- 11:47Speaker 9: watching technology.
- 11:48Speaker 8: More broadly, it's mostly retail still going in there.
- 11:51Speaker 9: So it's about fifty percent retail, twenty percent advisors, and
- 11:54Speaker 9: about thirty percent institutions. Is the breakdown today, and I
- 11:57Speaker 9: think it's still very early innings for those latter two.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I think another iteration that we're also going to see
- 12:03Speaker 2: and certainly in some of the filings, has been index
- 12:06Speaker 2: based products.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I think the most recent one was for a pudgy
- 12:10Speaker 1: penguins etf all right, so they hit on a few
- 12:15Speaker 1: things there. One of the things was the split on
- 12:17Speaker 1: the market sectors, meaning retail holding about fifty percent and
- 12:21Speaker 1: institutional still early. That is exactly the opposite where it
- 12:26Speaker 1: should be in most cases where we will see this
- 12:28Speaker 1: in the future, I think institutions will play a bigger
- 12:30Speaker 1: role of this and retail will play a much smaller
- 12:34Speaker 1: role now. Granted, many people are still investing more cash
- 12:38Speaker 1: off the sidelines into these kind of assets, and I
- 12:40Speaker 1: think that's a big bullish sign as well. They mentioned
- 12:42Speaker 1: that in the clip and I would agree with that,
- 12:44Speaker 1: I think because it's not coming out of the money market,
- 12:46Speaker 1: so that means they've got their safe cash over here,
- 12:49Speaker 1: but they're looking at new investment opportunities coming out of
- 12:52Speaker 1: that liquidity into the market. That is bullish overall. I
- 12:55Speaker 1: want to go to because this is another thing that
- 12:57Speaker 1: is bullish I think for at least eight and that
- 13:00Speaker 1: is that Bitwise just drops some fire. And this is
- 13:02Speaker 1: in reference to filing a staking to its Ethereum etf.
- 13:06Speaker 1: This would be huge because again it could move some
- 13:08Speaker 1: of those people in money markets off high center into
- 13:13Speaker 1: Ethereum ETFs, which could have higher yields than those money markets.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So I'll be watching that as we get a little closer.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Here's Matt. He's talking about eth being the leader.
- 13:22Speaker 10: Take a look, what are they excited about. They're stated
- 13:25Speaker 10: about stable coins, they're excited about tokenization, they're excited about
- 13:29Speaker 10: agentic AI. If I look at who's the market leader
- 13:32Speaker 10: in those three areas, Ethereum has the largest share of
- 13:35Speaker 10: stable coin issue in it's It has by far the
- 13:38Speaker 10: largest share in the tokenization market. It's the leader in
- 13:41Speaker 10: the agentic ai space. If you just look at where
- 13:44Speaker 10: the demand is bubbling up, it's still bubbling up on
- 13:47Speaker 10: ETH and ETH layer twos. But anyone writing off Ether
- 13:51Speaker 10: is ignoring the fact that that's where the users still
- 13:54Speaker 10: are in the things people think are going to be
- 13:57Speaker 10: multi trillion dollar markets in the near I don't worry
- 14:01Speaker 10: about the stability to monetize. That it'd be like Facebook
- 14:04Speaker 10: if it adds two years after it was formed, it
- 14:07Speaker 10: was too early. What I worry about is are the
- 14:09Speaker 10: things that are going to be multi trillion dollar markets
- 14:12Speaker 10: being built, at least in part on eth. And when
- 14:15Speaker 10: I look at those three things, Eth is the leaders, all.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Right, So he has had a very interesting there case there,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and that is multi trillion dollar markets being built on eth.
- 14:26Speaker 1: If you look at the eighth chart right here, I
- 14:29Speaker 1: mean this came in what at least on the local
- 14:31Speaker 1: bottom right here, at around seventeen hundred. This is up
- 14:34Speaker 1: almost in the last two weeks almost eighteen percent. So
- 14:37Speaker 1: ETH in general, have we finally hit the bottom right there?
- 14:42Speaker 1: Of bottom? We got to talk a look at Mattic
- 14:44Speaker 1: right here. If you go back and of course this
- 14:46Speaker 1: is treading on the new token signal. There's poll But
- 14:49Speaker 1: you look at this right now, it's below where it's
- 14:52Speaker 1: all time low was. So is this finally at its
- 14:55Speaker 1: rock bottom right now? Is mattic Is Polygon getting ready
- 14:59Speaker 1: to make a move obvious with this new potential opportunity
- 15:02Speaker 1: that lies within the institutional scheme. We'll take a look
- 15:06Speaker 1: at all that for you guys. If you're not in
- 15:07Speaker 1: the diamond circle, make sure and get in right now.
