  Speaker 1: Good morning. Welcome to Tuesday. And as we get into Tuesday,

  Speaker 1: and just say in your heart a little prayer to God.

  Speaker 1: Why don't you say to Him, God.

  Speaker 1: I know that life is all about you.

  Speaker 1: And please help me to order my life today in
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: a way that respects you and builds my relationship with you.

  Speaker 1: Speak to me now.

  Speaker 1: A prayer like that is a great way to start
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: every day as you open your Bible and just listen
• 0:41
  Speaker 1: to God's insight on life, God's perspective on life.

  Speaker 1: We're looking this week at the words Jesus said to
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: His disciples about the fact that He's returning one day,
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: what we call the second coming of the Lord Jesus,
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: when He will come not just as a meek, humble,
• 1:01
  Speaker 1: suffering servant who would die on a cross to make
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: a way for us to be forgiven and have a
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: relationship with God.
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: No, the second time he comes, he will come as
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: the supreme being of this universe. He will come to
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: hold us accountable for our lives, and he wants to
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: know how we have used the life he's entrusted to us.
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: Our lives are not our own. They belong to Him.
• 1:27
  Speaker 1: He's given them to us. He gives us every day
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: of our lives. And even as we go into this day,
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: just be aware and remember God has given you this day.
• 1:37
  Speaker 1: He wants you to use it in a way that
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: is meaningful to him.
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: He told a story that we read yesterday about a
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: man who had a lot of money and he was
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: going away on a long trip and so he called
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: some of his servants and based on their ability, he
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: gave them different amounts of money to invest and and
• 1:59
  Speaker 1: make money with for him while he was gone.

  Speaker 1: There were 3 of them, and one received, uh, 5 talents,
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: which is a talent is a weight of gold, and
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: he invested it and got 5 more, and he gave
• 2:12
  Speaker 1: another 12 talents of gold, and he invested it and
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: made 2 more talents. And when the master came back,
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: he said to them, Well done, good and faithful servant.
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: You've been faithful with a little. I'm going to put
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: you in charge of a lot. Enter into the joy
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: of your master.
• 2:30
  Speaker 1: And this is a picture of Jesus' return and how
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: incredibly exciting it's going to be for people who have
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: lived their life for God when they meet with God
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: at the end of their lives or when He returns.
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: Jesus is going to be so encouraging, so excited about
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: what they've done for Him with their lives.
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: And then there's the other slave who knew he was
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: going to be accountable to his master and was afraid
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: he might lose some money, so he went and dug
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: a hole in the ground and buried the money. And
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: when the master came back, he said, See, I didn't
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: lose any. And the master said, But that's not what
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: I wanted you to do with your life. I wanted
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: you to invest it. I wanted you to make a
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: difference with it.
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: And he was not happy with that servant. And as
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: we think about that and we think about our lives,
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: we have to evaluate the different aspects of our lives
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: and what we are doing with them. I mean, just
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: stop and think about one of the greatest things about
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: you that God has made and given you, which is
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: your mind, your ability to think and use what your
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: thoughts to inform your decisions and direct your life. That
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: is so important.
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: And so we need to make sure that we use
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: our minds for God. We need to be careful about
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: what we are feeding into our minds. What's shaping our thoughts?
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: Is it all just the secular things around us that
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: are focused on this temporary world?
• 4:01
  Speaker 1: Basically hiding our treasure in a hole in the ground,
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: or are we filling our minds with things that are
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: going to shape them for good and give us God's
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: perspective on life? Are you reading good spiritual books? Are
• 4:15
  Speaker 1: you spending time in the Bible? Are you listening to
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: music that's going to be uplifting to you? Focus your
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: mind for God. Jesus in one place said.
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: Love the Lord your God with all your mind.
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: Why don't you bring your mind to God today and
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: tell Him you want to please Him with your mind
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: as you go through the day. I'm John North.
