- 0:32Speaker 2: You look like you had a good weekend. Man, you
- 0:36Speaker 2: once again your veins are popping, T shirts straining, there,
- 0:40Speaker 2: nipples protruding. I can hart, man, how's life go?
- 0:44Speaker 3: I'm pretty gray? So you made Doug. You're You've always
- 0:47Speaker 3: been at what I would call a sixth son of
- 0:49Speaker 3: a bee, you know, sure man, Yeah, yeah, yeah, No.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I had an absolute blinder of a weekend. I've got
- 0:55Speaker 3: about eight minutes sleep the whole time. Yes, and on
- 0:57Speaker 3: back baby on brand new Becka gym this morning, beck
- 1:01Speaker 3: in the sauna, back flicking strangers with Mattel there, chasing
- 1:05Speaker 3: around the old change, your daughter's tiny town bunny rabbits
- 1:08Speaker 3: on it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I told my wife that story. She found it very funny. Yeah,
- 1:15Speaker 2: good ship, Hey, Pudson once again, another great weekend for
- 1:24Speaker 2: you by by all accounts of the stories you were
- 1:26Speaker 2: telling me. How are you mate? You good?
- 1:27Speaker 4: It was a fantastic long weekend, Thanks Jason.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And this is well. I just want to be very careful.
- 1:32Speaker 3: And they might have been talking about somebody else. But
- 1:33Speaker 3: I was over at the pub just over here. That
- 1:36Speaker 3: was around here, all coming in here. No, no, it
- 1:38Speaker 3: was over the weekend there and I was over there, Jasment,
- 1:41Speaker 3: I was sitting down, I was doing number two's and
- 1:43Speaker 3: then written on the wall there said pugs Son is
- 1:46Speaker 3: a mad ruder?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Is that you mean there's only one.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Pugs sounds like there might be another one out there, right.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Well, I mean you are a mad ruder, But I
- 1:59Speaker 2: mean that's that's nothing wrong with that, puck Son.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Did you write that?
- 2:04Speaker 3: Did I write? But what I did do is I
- 2:08Speaker 3: got my vivide and I underlined it.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah the mad Yeah, yeah, he just on there, just
- 2:15Speaker 2: sure yeah, no, no, just not on you being a
- 2:17Speaker 2: mad ruth.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Everyone knows that a right.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You know, the old graffiti and the toilet God. That
- 2:22Speaker 2: used to be fascinating reading about all the goss on
- 2:24Speaker 2: the toilet, especially in a boys boarding school. You can
- 2:28Speaker 2: only imagine.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Two seven pucks for a good time.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, my weekend was fine, puck Son, thanks for
- 2:37Speaker 2: asking me.
- 2:37Speaker 5: I'm ready to move on many more than wanting to
- 2:41Speaker 5: talk about my reading.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Nah. No, you don't want to do that.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Okay, the whole Achy Big Shows with Jason Hoyt, Mike
- 2:49Speaker 1: Minogue and Kizy.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Isn't he cake there on the radio? Hold Archy Big
- 2:54Speaker 2: Show this Tuesday afternoon. The time it's thirteen minutes past
- 2:56Speaker 2: four o'clock. Incidentally, I hope everyone out there had a
- 2:59Speaker 2: fantastic long weekend. We can we do Maggot Tuesday. It
- 3:05Speaker 2: doesn't work. It doesn't work, No, because I'm thinking, I'm
- 3:08Speaker 2: thinking there will be a lot of maggots out there
- 3:10Speaker 2: after the long weekend.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, there will be. But it's just one of those things.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It can only be Monday. Well, I'll tell you what
- 3:17Speaker 2: we'll do instead, a bit of vanilla radio.
- 3:22Speaker 6: That ship vanilla radio, turn that ship off?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Well, hang on, I didn't know. Specific to me, it
- 3:34Speaker 2: was the first one to think of vanilla radio is
- 3:36Speaker 2: in terms of a really terrible idea. But you know
- 3:38Speaker 2: what I mean, that's right.
- 3:40Speaker 3: What if you brought to the table today.
- 3:44Speaker 2: If I brought this one to the table, it's me
- 3:47Speaker 2: and it is.
- 3:48Speaker 3: What we've gone with today is it's going to be
- 3:50Speaker 3: another big pole because you've got to have a poll
- 3:52Speaker 3: or certainly a lot of listener feedback when it comes
- 3:54Speaker 3: to Vanilla Radio, and that is teachers only days. Yes,
- 3:58Speaker 3: well no, sure so, So I don't think it doesn't
- 4:01Speaker 3: happen at every school, does it. It's an individually sort
- 4:03Speaker 3: of base thing that the principle at each school will
- 4:06Speaker 3: make the decision. But my daughter's got a teacher's only
- 4:09Speaker 3: day to day which just happens to come at the
- 4:10Speaker 3: end of a long weekend.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:12Speaker 3: So one way they're looking at it is they're giving
- 4:15Speaker 3: all of the all of the pupils and their far no,
- 4:19Speaker 3: all their family they get they get along an extra
- 4:21Speaker 3: long weekend. Sure, but they only get an extra long
- 4:24Speaker 3: weekend it as for the kids because the parents still
- 4:28Speaker 3: have to go to school. I'd have to go to work. Yes,
- 4:30Speaker 3: So it feels to me like potentially it's the teachers
- 4:33Speaker 3: are jacking it up for themselves to have an extra
- 4:35Speaker 3: long weekend.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Sure.
- 4:37Speaker 3: What I'd like to know is if there's any teachers
- 4:39Speaker 3: out there, give us a text on three four h three,
- 4:41Speaker 3: even call us there, I say, on eight hundred hodechi,
- 4:45Speaker 3: and just tell us exactly what it is that you
- 4:47Speaker 3: do on a teacher's only day. I can't imagine what
- 4:50Speaker 3: it is because you just that you're planning as part
- 4:54Speaker 3: of your everyday life, don't you? What is it exactly
- 4:57Speaker 3: that you guys are doing?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Now, look, this is my view on it, mogi. And
- 5:02Speaker 2: you know, as you know, I trained to be a
- 5:03Speaker 2: teacher and I will not have a bad word said
- 5:08Speaker 2: about teachers not in my house, however, you know, and
- 5:12Speaker 2: pugs aren't just going off about this topic off air
- 5:15Speaker 2: and just bagging teachers left, right and center. I just
- 5:18Speaker 2: want to say, but having said that, and this is
- 5:20Speaker 2: true with all my girls, it got to the point
- 5:23Speaker 2: with teachers only days where I was going, what the
- 5:26Speaker 2: bloody hell is going on? It seemed to me like
- 5:30Speaker 2: every second week there was a bloody in other teacher's
- 5:32Speaker 2: only day and I love it. Oh, I know the
- 5:34Speaker 2: girls are at home and it'd be like, why it's
- 5:36Speaker 2: a teacher's only day, And it just started to do
- 5:39Speaker 2: my head. And like you, I'm very curious to know
- 5:43Speaker 2: what the hell they do on teacher's only day. Is
- 5:46Speaker 2: it just a massive pass up? Is it them just
- 5:48Speaker 2: you know, each bringing a plate and having a bit
- 5:50Speaker 2: of a wholey. Is it them just extending their long
- 5:54Speaker 2: weekend into a four day weekend. Yes, But as I say,
- 5:58Speaker 2: I won't have a word said against because the laziest
- 6:02Speaker 2: backbones there are in this country. It's a noble profession,
- 6:05Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But yeah, no, it's quite genuinely.
- 6:08Speaker 2: You used to do my head. I want to back
- 6:10Speaker 2: you up there, Jason. I think it is one of
- 6:12Speaker 2: the noblest professions in the world. Yes, I think the
- 6:16Speaker 2: problem is the scumbags in this country we've got doing it. Yeah, man,
- 6:23Speaker 2: So give us a call or text us on three
- 6:25Speaker 2: four eight three. Maybe you're a parent you're over it.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Maybe you're a parent you love it. Maybe you're a
- 6:30Speaker 2: teacher you're over it. Maybe you're a teacher and you
- 6:32Speaker 2: love it. Who cares? Just have an opinion.
- 6:34Speaker 5: And also, if you give us a text on three
- 6:36Speaker 5: for three or give us a call on oh eight
- 6:37Speaker 5: hundred Hodarchy, we'll leave us a talkback on iHeartRadio, you
- 6:40Speaker 5: can win yourself a two wee prize pad.
- 6:45Speaker 1: The Whole Archy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Kezy
- 6:48Speaker 1: tune in week days at four on Radio Hodarchy.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yes, indeed a classic. There are the exponents on the
- 6:53Speaker 2: Radio Hodarchy Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. Incidentally, keep an
- 6:57Speaker 2: air out for a gig a little yeah, just I
- 7:00Speaker 2: just have that feeling today. I don't know why, but
- 7:03Speaker 2: just keep an air out now today. My colleague across
- 7:08Speaker 2: the room there, mister Mike Minogue, yeah, a Stallion, absolute
- 7:12Speaker 2: stud that he is, was listening as he always does,
- 7:16Speaker 2: to one of his favorite podcasts, the Agenda it was,
- 7:20Speaker 2: and he was listening to it, and then in the
- 7:22Speaker 2: middle of the agenda there was a advertorial. I guess
- 7:25Speaker 2: an advert read, well, the.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Thing about the Agenda, Jase, is it's New Zealand's greatest
- 7:32Speaker 3: Wow sporting podcast. Yeah, the new radio podcasts. It's been
- 7:36Speaker 3: voted as such to jump the fact that it contains
- 7:41Speaker 3: very little chat about sport. But you only need ten
- 7:44Speaker 3: percent content around sport as far as I understand, and
- 7:47Speaker 3: then that qualifies as a sporting podcast. So you're scraping there,
- 7:51Speaker 3: and do you I sorahly enjoyed it. When all of
- 7:53Speaker 3: a sudden an advertorial for the ACC Sports Almanac or
- 7:58Speaker 3: the History of the ACC the latest hardback, The latest
- 8:00Speaker 3: bit of tat that the acc can't leave for our
- 8:04Speaker 3: chrys was read by Mania Stewart and man I Stuart's
- 8:08Speaker 3: in the studio today, how are you good?
- 8:10Speaker 7: Thank you to pull you behind the curtain. I was
- 8:11Speaker 7: out of the office today and I came into a
- 8:14Speaker 7: furor when I walked back into the office.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I mean, Maniah, I've read a lot of ads in
- 8:20Speaker 2: my time, mate, And I was listening and Mogie of
- 8:23Speaker 2: course played our said ad and it was such an abomination.
- 8:27Speaker 2: It was such a travesty. It was I haven't heard
- 8:31Speaker 2: it so appalling that even I was shocked, and Mogi's
- 8:35Speaker 2: been upset about it all day because that ruined his
- 8:38Speaker 2: listening experience to his favorite podcast, The Agenda.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Well it was. It was actually because I was playing
- 8:44Speaker 3: it for my five year old daughter, And I said,
- 8:46Speaker 3: actually because when I normally a ed reads are so good,
- 8:50Speaker 3: and so when it came when it came to the
- 8:51Speaker 3: air break, I turned it up maximum loudness at home
- 8:54Speaker 3: on my stereo so my daughter could hear it, and
- 8:57Speaker 3: the language was out of this world. Pugs of you
- 9:00Speaker 3: wouldn't mind.
- 9:01Speaker 8: Alternative Commentary Collective Almanac, The Alternative commentary Collective Almanac a
- 9:06Speaker 8: decade of New Zealand sport. Whether you're an ACC fan
- 9:09Speaker 8: or you're new to the madness, this book is an
- 9:12Speaker 8: insight to it all. From the glory of the test
- 9:14Speaker 8: Chap five. Whether you're new, Whether whether you're an ACC
- 9:19Speaker 8: fan or new to the madness, this book is an
- 9:21Speaker 8: insight to it all.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Can I can I just ask in your defense, big
- 9:28Speaker 2: big long weekend, what's going on there?
- 9:32Speaker 3: I don't know when that was recorded.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I think it was a couple of weeks ago. All right.
- 9:35Speaker 7: You know, as a long term broadcaster, Jason, you should
- 9:39Speaker 7: know that. You know, you don't get all these reads
- 9:40Speaker 7: right in one go.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Wow.
- 9:42Speaker 7: You should have the safety and security of a producer
- 9:45Speaker 7: to pick that up before they go to broadcast it.
- 9:48Speaker 7: So if anyone's a fault here, Jason, I would suggest
- 9:51Speaker 7: that it's the producers.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Yeah, who was the producer on there? Because I take
- 9:55Speaker 3: your Pointmanya. Oftentimes we'll be in here and we do many, many,
- 9:59Speaker 3: many line, don't we, Jase. We're so attractive to advertisers
- 10:03Speaker 3: and brands right across this great nation.
- 10:05Speaker 2: We do a lot for the punishing ACC as well
- 10:10Speaker 2: for them.
- 10:10Speaker 3: That's right, and jas Won. He makes a mistakes, drop
- 10:13Speaker 3: in the F bomb like you do. He just will
- 10:15Speaker 3: whip out the latest racial slur.
- 10:18Speaker 7: Well, this is what I was going to say when
- 10:19Speaker 7: I came in. Thankfully, thank god it was me that
- 10:23Speaker 7: did that, because the members of the Alternative Commentary Collective,
- 10:26Speaker 7: who given the opportunity, would have set our station, this
- 10:30Speaker 7: station and the a SEC back one hundred years. Yes,
- 10:33Speaker 7: you being one of them, Jason.
- 10:42Speaker 2: We know, and you know I take issue with what
- 10:45Speaker 2: Moggie was saying there because I don't make mistakes on reeds, never,
- 10:49Speaker 2: not once. So the thirty years, thirty years, I've never
- 10:54Speaker 2: made a mistake, So I don't know what that's. I
- 10:56Speaker 2: don't need a good producer, even though pack sounds great cheers,
- 11:00Speaker 2: but you don't need them, na.
- 11:01Speaker 7: So there's no TV producer out there that's got some
- 11:03Speaker 7: takes of yours.
- 11:04Speaker 2: That ye not definitely Okay, Well, we just wanted to
- 11:09Speaker 2: give you the opportunity, min I of you know, just
- 11:11Speaker 2: apologizing to the listeners out there for that abomination. Do
- 11:15Speaker 2: you want to do that or are you going to
- 11:16Speaker 2: own it?
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 11:17Speaker 7: No, I'd like to apologize on behalf of the producer
- 11:19Speaker 7: to let that one slip into being broadcast.
- 11:21Speaker 3: That's not what we're about.
- 11:22Speaker 7: But be grateful, like Moga should be that it wasn't
- 11:25Speaker 7: another member of the SEC that was talking to their
- 11:27Speaker 7: children in the car. But the SEC Agenda podcast is
- 11:30Speaker 7: available on all reputable podcast platforms, and if you'd like
- 11:33Speaker 7: to go download it and.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Find out if the it's still in there to be a.
- 11:37Speaker 7: While you're at it by the SEC, i'm ack available
- 11:39Speaker 7: at all Good Books, Big Show podcast.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Lincoln Park. There on the radio Hodarchy Big Show, there's
- 11:47Speaker 2: beautiful Tuesday afternoon. Now, the vanilla topic of the day
- 11:53Speaker 2: was a vanilla radio topic of the day was teacher's
- 11:57Speaker 2: only Day? Yes or no? We put it to the
- 12:00Speaker 2: people on three four eight three. What's the general consensus there, moogi?
- 12:06Speaker 3: Well, you know all the texts coming in from parent
- 12:10Speaker 3: sort of along these ones, no teachers only day, they're
- 12:13Speaker 3: taking the piss. Can't argue with it, can't wait for
- 12:18Speaker 3: the Lord to be passed for those buggers. They have
- 12:19Speaker 3: a teachers only day in their holidays, one of their
- 12:22Speaker 3: three months of the year they get. And this one
- 12:29Speaker 3: here says this one's from a teachers from teachers because
- 12:33Speaker 3: we did ask them, we wanted to hear from teachers
- 12:35Speaker 3: as to what exactly they do on that day, because
- 12:37Speaker 3: we don't know, do we know? We know as those
- 12:39Speaker 3: saying don't meet your kids to school teachers this time
- 12:41Speaker 3: have been focusing their teacher teachers only day on the
- 12:45Speaker 3: changes to the new curriculum and also looking at the
- 12:47Speaker 3: new structures to maths programs. It's a very busy day.
- 12:53Speaker 3: It's a very busy day.
- 12:55Speaker 2: It's a very busy day. So it's not a massive
- 12:57Speaker 2: bong session then.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Well it may well be. But also they do what
- 13:02Speaker 3: they call professional development, where we build skills to deal
- 13:06Speaker 3: with your kids on the daily. By the way, I
- 13:08Speaker 3: work six days a week, sometimes seven hours a day.
- 13:11Speaker 3: What about you, Well, thanks for asking. I work seven
- 13:13Speaker 3: days a week, eighteen hours a day. So you've got
- 13:15Speaker 3: a bit of time up your sleeve there, so you'll
- 13:17Speaker 3: be pleased to know about that. This one here says
- 13:20Speaker 3: take the pis all you want. But there's a lot
- 13:22Speaker 3: of ours involved in hard work and being a teacher,
- 13:25Speaker 3: so that's good. They said, we can take the piss
- 13:27Speaker 3: all we want.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes. Well, as I say, I won't
- 13:31Speaker 2: have a word against teachers. I know that our Pugsun's
- 13:34Speaker 2: been bagging the ass off them and I won't have
- 13:36Speaker 2: it on this studio.
- 13:37Speaker 3: But that is good to know because I don't know
- 13:39Speaker 3: what they're doing. Yes, we don't get I mean, I
- 13:41Speaker 3: haven't been told. I haven't said that. I'll give about
- 13:43Speaker 3: nine million emails a day from the school telling me
- 13:45Speaker 3: what's going on at the school with my yees. It's
- 13:47Speaker 3: like having another job trying to keep up to date
- 13:49Speaker 3: with all the emails. So I appreciate them, but I'll
- 13:52Speaker 3: be honest, I don't read all of.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Them, sure, you know, And I'll be honest too. Towards
- 13:56Speaker 2: the end of my daughter's career at school, it was
- 13:58Speaker 2: it felt like it was getting exponentially worse in terms
- 14:02Speaker 2: of there seemed to be one every second week. You know,
- 14:05Speaker 2: it was just like another another I remember, I say
- 14:08Speaker 2: to my wife many times, another teacher's only day? Are
- 14:12Speaker 2: you kidding me?
- 14:14Speaker 5: Can?
- 14:14Speaker 2: I ask?
- 14:14Speaker 4: Was it your daughter telling you it was a teacher
- 14:16Speaker 4: only day?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Probably?
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:17Speaker 2: Right, yeah, yeah, But I mean it's not like we
- 14:21Speaker 2: have radio announcer day only day. Every day is radio
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah you know what I mean? Yeah, but you know,
- 14:31Speaker 2: and I do take the point actually that you know,
- 14:34Speaker 2: we look at teachers with the good holidays they have
- 14:37Speaker 2: and they work from X to X time. But there's
- 14:39Speaker 2: all the extra curricular stuff going on. This is sporting teams,
- 14:43Speaker 2: all the stuff, the market and all that sort of
- 14:45Speaker 2: carry on. So I won't hear. And this damn studio
- 14:50Speaker 2: pagsan ord against anyone in that regard and as I say,
- 14:54Speaker 2: a noble profession.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Keep those ticks coming on three for three as well,
- 14:58Speaker 5: all of those ticks that came through and any new
- 15:00Speaker 5: ones that come through in the draw for a twoy
- 15:01Speaker 5: price pack.
- 15:02Speaker 4: We may get pick into this a bit later on
- 15:03Speaker 4: the show The.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Hidarchy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kisey.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yes, indeed the doors there on the Radio Hodarchy Big
- 15:12Speaker 2: Show this Tuesday after new Now listen after five. By
- 15:18Speaker 2: the way, speaking of great music, we'll be reviewing the
- 15:22Speaker 2: Tom York gig that we all went to go and
- 15:24Speaker 2: see over the weekend, won't we feel we? Sure well?
- 15:27Speaker 3: I went on the Friday night, you fly went on
- 15:31Speaker 3: a Saturday night. Yes, both saw completely different shows, completely
- 15:34Speaker 3: different playlists setless.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Oh wow, yeah interesting and also just incidentally, keep an
- 15:41Speaker 2: air up for a gig a little today I don't
- 15:43Speaker 2: know why, just keep an ear out. But right now
- 15:46Speaker 2: it's time for sleep chat. It's sleep chat.
- 15:52Speaker 6: With Jason mind.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah boy, yeah, I had it ripper last night.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Man.
- 15:56Speaker 3: You know, you get to the end of a long
- 15:58Speaker 3: weekend like that, you need a bit of a sleep
- 16:00Speaker 3: and you've been drinking as responsibly as I had me Yes,
- 16:03Speaker 3: and went to bed there and we we we sleep
- 16:11Speaker 3: and I woke up in the middle of the night
- 16:13Speaker 3: and I had this just to a tickling sensation. It
- 16:18Speaker 3: was a tickling It was a tickling sensation on the
- 16:22Speaker 3: back of my neck and I couldn't I couldn't do
- 16:27Speaker 3: anything about it because I was suffering from sleep paralysis.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Sleep paralysis is where your body is still completely asleep. Jason,
- 16:35Speaker 3: I know when you something from it, it's your body
- 16:37Speaker 3: goes rigid. But mine's completely relaxed, right, But I just
- 16:40Speaker 3: can't move any part of my body at all, So
- 16:43Speaker 3: you're sort of you're trapped. You're trapped inside your body,
- 16:48Speaker 3: and it's never a good time at the best of times,
- 16:52Speaker 3: because it can take it takes like a couple of
- 16:53Speaker 3: minutes for you to get it sorted out. And normally
- 16:57Speaker 3: what I do is I concentrate on my pinky finger,
- 16:59Speaker 3: and as soon as I can move my piggy finger,
- 17:02Speaker 3: and then the rest of the body sort of you know,
- 17:03Speaker 3: follows follows along from there. But as I'm lying there,
- 17:08Speaker 3: paralyzed and just thinking about the wonders of the human body,
- 17:12Speaker 3: and this tickling happened at the back of my neck,
- 17:14Speaker 3: I'm thinking, what is this tickling? Because it's nice, sure,
- 17:18Speaker 3: but I don't know what it is. And then I remember,
- 17:21Speaker 3: prior to going to bed, or prior to going to sleep,
- 17:25Speaker 3: my wife said to me. She says, there's a big
- 17:27Speaker 3: cock croach up.
- 17:28Speaker 2: On the ceiling, no.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Coach up on the ceiling. And I said to it,
- 17:35Speaker 3: don't worry about it, don't worry about It'll be gone.
- 17:37Speaker 3: You know, who cares. There's always my attitude to go.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I would have got up and got up, but it
- 17:42Speaker 3: was too high, so I just bag who hears. So,
- 17:48Speaker 3: as I'm lying there, paralyzed and able to move, I
- 17:50Speaker 3: think to myself and I think I found I think
- 17:52Speaker 3: I found this cockcroach. It's on the back of me
- 17:55Speaker 3: neck there. So then I'm lying there and I'm going
- 18:02Speaker 3: and I'm shouting at my wife for help. She is awake. Now,
- 18:06Speaker 3: this is about three o'clock in the morning. I woken
- 18:08Speaker 3: her up and I'm screaming on saying I'm saying wake
- 18:12Speaker 3: me up, but it's just I can't move anything, so
- 18:15Speaker 3: it's just coming out it sounds like that. And then
- 18:20Speaker 3: eventually I'm able to move and I wake up and
- 18:23Speaker 3: she's like, you're good, You're good, you're sleep talking. I
- 18:26Speaker 3: was like, yeah, I was telling you to wake up.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I was telling you to wake me up because I
- 18:32Speaker 3: was having sleep paralysis there. Yes, anyway, I was so
- 18:36Speaker 3: glad to be rid of the sleep paralysis, and I
- 18:38Speaker 3: just laid down again. Bloody hell. All of a sudden,
- 18:41Speaker 3: I feel a tickling in.
- 18:42Speaker 2: My ear.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And I put my ear directly onto this cockroach and
- 18:47Speaker 3: I just reached and I grab it and I chuck it.
- 18:50Speaker 3: I don't know where, and I say, oh, there you go.
- 18:53Speaker 3: There's the I found that cockroach. It was disgusting, and
- 18:58Speaker 3: so I got up and I washed my hands, washed
- 19:00Speaker 3: my face, got rid of it and all that, but
- 19:02Speaker 3: I couldn't find it. I couldn't find it anywhere.
- 19:05Speaker 2: And then.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Crafty little bastards and we only see them, they're not
- 19:10Speaker 3: like they're not house cockroaches there. They are big bastards
- 19:16Speaker 3: when we bring the wooden. So I had the fire
- 19:18Speaker 3: on over the weekend. So when I bring the wood
- 19:19Speaker 3: and you're you always get another couplely few around the joint.
- 19:23Speaker 3: So anyway, and then I came into the bedroom this
- 19:26Speaker 3: morning to get something else and there it was that
- 19:28Speaker 3: was sitting on my bedside table and it was dead,
- 19:32Speaker 3: but it was it was probably three quarters of size
- 19:37Speaker 3: of a lighter, right, Okay, the body was it was
- 19:41Speaker 3: that sort of size. So this was a not insignificant
- 19:45Speaker 3: cockroach yet in my bed.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I've had a similar experience, but not in the sense
- 19:51Speaker 2: of being paralyzed at the time, because I have the
- 19:53Speaker 2: old sleep paralysis as well. But I set up very
- 19:56Speaker 2: erect with my fists clenched, my jaw clean, and I
- 20:01Speaker 2: can't move. I can't break out of it. Yeah, that's
- 20:03Speaker 2: my sleep paralysis. But I've had the thing too of
- 20:06Speaker 2: exactly that, a cockroach in the corner of the room
- 20:10Speaker 2: and I can't reach it, and my wife, who despises them,
- 20:14Speaker 2: and rightly so she's like, oh God, and I'm lying
- 20:18Speaker 2: in be to go to be fine, babe, And then
- 20:20Speaker 2: feeling a scuffling across my face. You know there's no
- 20:24Speaker 2: worse feeling. Incidentally, if there's medical people out there listening,
- 20:28Speaker 2: can you give us sort of the reasons behind the
- 20:31Speaker 2: old sleep thealysis generally stress related, I think, Mogi, Well.
- 20:37Speaker 3: It's stress related and oftentimes, certainly it would be a
- 20:41Speaker 3: lot more prevalent in my earlier twenties. It's as a
- 20:43Speaker 3: result of sleep sleep deprivation. Yes, so if you had it,
- 20:47Speaker 3: if you've been partying a fair amount, you'll find that
- 20:49Speaker 3: you might you might have sleep paralysis.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And you don't get it. I know, pugsan because you
- 20:55Speaker 2: sleep that the sleep of the dead, don't you hear?
- 20:58Speaker 2: You want to see? I mean you seek like a
- 21:01Speaker 2: baby because of your massive routing sessions.
- 21:05Speaker 1: With a wing Big Show podcast.
- 21:07Speaker 2: You're welcome back to your massive backbones. So I hope
- 21:09Speaker 2: you're getting through your Tuesday afternoon tickety bill after the
- 21:13Speaker 2: long weekend. You're listening to the Big Show brought to
- 21:16Speaker 2: you by Tilly. Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 5: People said two, he couldn't run into your right campaign
- 21:22Speaker 5: this day and age, what go go get to that?
- 21:25Speaker 5: People said that two he couldn't run into your right campaign,
- 21:28Speaker 5: and this day and age to that, we say, yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 5: you're right, you know what I'm saying.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, man, just on that. No. By the way,
- 21:38Speaker 2: if you've got any ideas that you think would make
- 21:40Speaker 2: great billboards, text us three four eight three will pass
- 21:43Speaker 2: it on to management. They're running up the flag pole
- 21:45Speaker 2: and see what happens. You could become a multi millionaire.
- 21:48Speaker 2: You never know.
- 21:49Speaker 3: They've actually got an eight hundred you can call eight
- 21:51Speaker 3: hundred two a year, right, I think it is.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Ryan.
- 21:53Speaker 3: You can check your ideas on there and that is
- 21:55Speaker 3: essentially the flag pole eight hundred flag pole through there
- 22:00Speaker 3: and you could win a trillion dollars. Yeah, for your
- 22:03Speaker 3: billboard ideas.
- 22:04Speaker 2: That's what I.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Can't remember the exact details, but that's what's in my head.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Well, if they take some in here, they could also
- 22:10Speaker 4: go in the draw for a two y price pack.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Speaking of a trillion dollars, I wanted two bucks on
- 22:17Speaker 2: a scratchy today.
- 22:19Speaker 4: That's so cool, man, And you know they.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Really good part of the you know what, this is
- 22:23Speaker 2: a really good part about it, Mogi. There was a
- 22:25Speaker 2: little ticket on our bench here and it was a
- 22:27Speaker 2: free ticket. I'll catch that, bast in, and I see
- 22:31Speaker 2: give me another one, and I won two butts yeah, boy,
- 22:35Speaker 2: but just on that actually coming up. I had a
- 22:37Speaker 2: bit of a moral dilemma at my local dairy this
- 22:41Speaker 2: afternoon that I want to talk to you about. Yes,
- 22:42Speaker 2: get your thoughts on. In the meantime, let's get into
- 22:46Speaker 2: some music, shall we bit of Chemical Brothers.
- 22:51Speaker 1: The Whodichy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Keyzy tune
- 22:54Speaker 1: in week days and four on Radio hod Ikey Shye.
- 22:58Speaker 2: And I tell you what I did to make a
- 23:01Speaker 2: great throbber.
- 23:02Speaker 4: You would have thought so, wouldn't you, especially a Beervanna
- 23:05Speaker 4: would be a great robber.
- 23:06Speaker 2: That's such a tune, man, dear man, Now, fellas, I
- 23:11Speaker 2: had a bit of a moral ty limit today at
- 23:14Speaker 2: my local dairy. Yes. Oh, and incidentally, I finally found
- 23:20Speaker 2: out the name of the new dairy owner, because you remember,
- 23:23Speaker 2: my dairy used to be run by a fellow by
- 23:25Speaker 2: the name of Baboo. Yes, And and Baboo moved on
- 23:30Speaker 2: and sold it to a to a young fella.
- 23:32Speaker 3: How long ago was that?
- 23:34Speaker 2: Months and months months ago, six months? And I feel
- 23:38Speaker 2: I feel really bad about the fact because there's a
- 23:41Speaker 2: guy that bought at works as ours off and I've
- 23:43Speaker 2: never actually we'd chatting stuff and I've never actually asked
- 23:46Speaker 2: his name, and I found out his name today. Yeah, Kevin, Ye, No,
- 23:51Speaker 2: not me, Alamo.
- 23:53Speaker 3: You finally found out because you finally asked correct. Yeah yeah. Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 3: By the way, I've worked on a diary for quite
- 23:59Speaker 3: a few years. You don't work her house off. There's
- 24:00Speaker 3: a lot of sitting around doing jazz.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Well, what I mean by that is he opens earlier
- 24:05Speaker 2: and finishes way later. Long, I'll give you that, but
- 24:09Speaker 2: a long.
- 24:09Speaker 3: His ass will be fully intact.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yes, So this is this is what happened. Howdy Jay
- 24:16Speaker 2: went in there and bought some backy, some tobacco.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah right, what are you rolling? Oh, you can't say on.
- 24:25Speaker 2: No, no, no. And because I've decided to change from
- 24:29Speaker 2: Taylor's to the old Becky Yeah, because somewhere in my
- 24:32Speaker 2: mind I think that's more economic.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it used to be, and it's not anymore. They
- 24:35Speaker 3: changed it.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So she's she's nice. We're talking ninety two
- 24:40Speaker 2: bucks here.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Pugsn that's for a thirty grand peg son. I hate
- 24:44Speaker 3: to send the wife out for a pack of it.
- 24:46Speaker 3: The other day, and I was a bit reluctant because
- 24:48Speaker 3: she was finally going to find out how much it costs.
- 24:50Speaker 2: That is so true. Well I do that with my wife.
- 24:54Speaker 2: She goes, do you need anything about like need darries?
- 24:57Speaker 2: And I go, no, that's true because that shit.
- 25:02Speaker 9: If she finds out how much I'm spending on these bastards,
- 25:05Speaker 9: I'm in a real deliver So anyway, he zapted it
- 25:09Speaker 9: on the old f poss there and up came two.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Dollars and I went, oh my god, he's put on
- 25:19Speaker 2: the wrong amount there. And I want to firstly gauge
- 25:24Speaker 2: what did hawdy Jay do in that situation from your
- 25:27Speaker 2: point of view?
- 25:28Speaker 3: Did you do it? What should you do?
- 25:29Speaker 6: No?
- 25:29Speaker 2: What did I do?
- 25:31Speaker 3: You told him immediately, PUGSN, I reckon you lift it?
- 25:36Speaker 4: I reckon you remain passive and just let it ride
- 25:38Speaker 4: and pretended to ignore it.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Thank you, Mogie, thank you. But I must sut met
- 25:44Speaker 2: for a shameful moment there. I pondered, just going do
- 25:51Speaker 2: I not say anything at all? And then I looked
- 25:55Speaker 2: into Kevin's tired face, yes, and I went, you piece
- 26:00Speaker 2: of shit?
- 26:01Speaker 3: You caught him a piece of shit?
- 26:02Speaker 2: No? No, I called myself a piece of shit and
- 26:07Speaker 2: I said no, I'm not going to do that. And
- 26:08Speaker 2: I said, na, no, keV You've got the wrong amount
- 26:10Speaker 2: there made She's ninety two, not ninety. And I know
- 26:13Speaker 2: now that my wife will be listening to this, and
- 26:15Speaker 2: I'm expecting a text any moment saying ninety bucks. Exclamation, exclamation, exclamation,
- 26:23Speaker 2: because I'm curious what other people would do in that scenario.
- 26:27Speaker 2: I'm curious actually about our listeners out there on three
- 26:29Speaker 2: four eight three, how honest they are, whether they go, nah,
- 26:33Speaker 2: his mistake, I'll take it, or whether they would go
- 26:36Speaker 2: nah and own it.
- 26:37Speaker 4: And so the discrepancy here was ninety ninety bucks.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't a small amount. Ninety bucks, and I
- 26:44Speaker 2: just mean, I can't do it.
- 26:45Speaker 3: But that's the thing about it, isn't it. It's a
- 26:47Speaker 3: it's a lot of money to take away from a
- 26:50Speaker 3: backbone like Kevin, like Cavi. But also if you're struggling,
- 26:54Speaker 3: it's a big saving.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Except my magie back in the day when I was
- 26:59Speaker 2: really struggle, it would be oh, geezus three four eight three,
- 27:03Speaker 2: what would you do in that situation? I want to
- 27:05Speaker 2: get a general vibe of what our listeners are like
- 27:08Speaker 2: out there.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Tilly private, geez Tilly price bacs to give away as well.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Good on your mues thanks man.
- 27:14Speaker 1: The Hdarchy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and
- 27:18Speaker 1: Kisy the Black Keys.
- 27:19Speaker 2: There on the Radio Hodarchy Big Show this Tuesday afternoon.
- 27:23Speaker 2: In the previous break, I was talking about how I
- 27:25Speaker 2: went to my local dairy today and bought some backy
- 27:28Speaker 2: and the dairy owner, Kevin, undercharged me by ninety bucks.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And I was in a real on the horns of
- 27:35Speaker 2: a dilemma, thinking, geez, do I tell him that he's
- 27:38Speaker 2: got it wrong here? Or do I just take it?
- 27:41Speaker 2: My conscience got the better of me and I said, no, mate,
- 27:43Speaker 2: you've got it wrong there, keV. You've undercharged me by
- 27:46Speaker 2: ninety bucks. So on a good bar. So well, we've
- 27:48Speaker 2: got Logan on the line. Good day, Logan, your massive
- 27:51Speaker 2: backbone house life.
- 27:53Speaker 10: Good Thanks? Howti you, Matt Dog? How you going?
- 27:55Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 27:55Speaker 3: Good?
- 27:55Speaker 2: Thanks mate, good good good. You've had a similar experience,
- 27:58Speaker 2: I believe.
- 28:00Speaker 10: Yeah. I was shopping at a miter ten in South Auckland, Yes,
- 28:06Speaker 10: and I was looking for a jigsaw and it was
- 28:09Speaker 10: a display model and the guy. I said to the guy,
- 28:12Speaker 10: can you do me a deal?
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yes?
- 28:14Speaker 10: And he said, I'll give you a set of free blades.
- 28:20Speaker 10: We walked up to the counter, and he gave it
- 28:22Speaker 10: to the young fellow at the counter and said, do
- 28:25Speaker 10: this one for free, because it was because he's buying
- 28:27Speaker 10: a display model. He scanned it up and then made
- 28:31Speaker 10: the chicksaw free.
- 28:35Speaker 4: So he's supposed to make the blades free.
- 28:36Speaker 10: Yes, I paid about eight bucks.
- 28:41Speaker 2: So you didn't say, hey, no feelings, you've got that wrong,
- 28:45Speaker 2: even though he did you a deal. The logan it.
- 28:48Speaker 10: Was a hell of a deal. It was eight bucks
- 28:50Speaker 10: for a.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Chicksaw and some He wasn't lying and so it says
- 28:53Speaker 3: I got textre on three for eight three. If it
- 28:55Speaker 3: was under charge from a small business on my local,
- 28:57Speaker 3: I definitely tell them how it was a large company
- 28:59Speaker 3: then no way, that's probably the problem. I'll take the win.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, actually, yeah, yeah, okay, I'll eat you off your logan.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Actually I think that's fair enough.
- 29:10Speaker 3: It's not.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Want to be very clear, it's but actually in my
- 29:17Speaker 2: in my head, that's actually true. I go in if
- 29:19Speaker 2: it's a big multi national bus that I go, well whatever,
- 29:24Speaker 2: but yeah, good on you logan is going to get
- 29:27Speaker 2: a two.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yeah, you gave us a call.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Hey, now listen, fellas well. We all enjoyed an experience
- 29:33Speaker 2: on separate days over the weekend with the One and
- 29:36Speaker 2: Only Tom York. You went on the Friday Mogi.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I did, and I don't like the sccusation that I
- 29:42Speaker 3: was on magic mushrooms. I don't think that's fear.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I will say that.
- 29:46Speaker 3: I will say as I had very good seats, and
- 29:49Speaker 3: I wasn't super excited to go and see this gig,
- 29:52Speaker 3: just because I had listened to his latest album, which
- 29:55Speaker 3: is a solo. I don't think Ready heads me together
- 29:58Speaker 3: for about ten or all my fifteen years. So having
- 30:02Speaker 3: listened to his latest album, which sounded like computer's routine,
- 30:09Speaker 3: very very hard to find a beat in there, so
- 30:10Speaker 3: I wasn't super pumped about it. And then you turn
- 30:12Speaker 3: up and it's just him. It's sort of it's like
- 30:16Speaker 3: he is a weird kid in his bedroom and you
- 30:19Speaker 3: get to watch and some of the songs you were
- 30:22Speaker 3: just like, I'm not sure this is music. I'm not
- 30:26Speaker 3: sure why I'm here. I think I might go because
- 30:30Speaker 3: it was taking somebody with sort of severe I don't know, autism,
- 30:36Speaker 3: it was things something like that, and that they've been
- 30:38Speaker 3: thrown in the bandroom at high school and the whole
- 30:39Speaker 3: assembly has been made to watch and you just think
- 30:42Speaker 3: to yourself, I feel like I could be clattering around
- 30:46Speaker 3: making these noises, and then of course it would go
- 30:49Speaker 3: from there into complete genius and he'd be doing other
- 30:52Speaker 3: songs and they're just completely out the gate. It was
- 30:53Speaker 3: two hours long. It's one of the best gigs that
- 30:56Speaker 3: I've ever seen. There were heaps of mistakes in there,
- 30:59Speaker 3: which I've found really endearing and awesome. And yeah, it
- 31:03Speaker 3: couldn't recommend it highly enough. A great another great example
- 31:06Speaker 3: of if you ever have the opportunity to go to
- 31:08Speaker 3: a gig, go to the gig. Yes, yes, go to
- 31:10Speaker 3: the gig.
- 31:11Speaker 2: And can I just reiterate that Mogi wasn't on mushrooms.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I was seated in a similar position to where you were, actually, Maggie.
- 31:19Speaker 2: If I was to put it into words how I
- 31:20Speaker 2: described this gig, I would describe it as a mad
- 31:25Speaker 2: genius in his musical leer. Basically, the graphics behind him
- 31:30Speaker 2: were mind blowing and it blew my mind that gig.
- 31:34Speaker 2: I was just like, you are kidding me, And it
- 31:37Speaker 2: was funny. Actually, as we were driving home, my wife
- 31:40Speaker 2: said to me, you know, I was watching that gig
- 31:42Speaker 2: and it made me ask the question, what the hell
- 31:44Speaker 2: am I doing with my life?
- 31:45Speaker 3: Right?
- 31:46Speaker 2: And I, interestingly enough, had the same thought. I was,
- 31:49Speaker 2: he was such genius. I went, what the hell am
- 31:52Speaker 2: I doing with my life here? This guy is a genius,
- 31:55Speaker 2: just ideas pouring out of them and brilliant packs. You
- 32:00Speaker 2: went too, I did.
- 32:01Speaker 4: I went to the same night you went, Jason the
- 32:02Speaker 4: Sad Day there.
- 32:03Speaker 5: And I'm not a deep cut radio fan, a radiohead
- 32:06Speaker 5: fan like I know obviously the hits in that, but
- 32:09Speaker 5: it just sounded like uncompromised expression, like it was just
- 32:13Speaker 5: him in his own little world. Obviously he had a
- 32:16Speaker 5: great stage prisons, he was passionate about it, but it
- 32:18Speaker 5: was just incredible how it would go from like a
- 32:20Speaker 5: horror movie soundscape into like a two step beat and
- 32:23Speaker 5: him on the red line.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that was my favorite. At that point, I was like, God,
- 32:29Speaker 3: this is like the soundtrack for Blade Runner or something else. That, yeah, unbelievable.
- 32:33Speaker 3: The only thing that sort of annoys me slightly, and
- 32:36Speaker 3: that is I think my perfect gig is to go
- 32:38Speaker 3: and see these things and have nobody else there, because yes,
- 32:41Speaker 3: you know this, this was a gig that was entirely
- 32:44Speaker 3: seated as a Victor reader is seting all across the
- 32:46Speaker 3: floor and it starts at eight thirty. There's no opener
- 32:49Speaker 3: for him. So it occurred to me that the reason
- 32:51Speaker 3: why he does it is because he doesn't want them
- 32:52Speaker 3: to be drunk people. It's very weird to remove the
- 32:55Speaker 3: audience from a show like that. So you're a musician,
- 32:57Speaker 3: but you don't want the audience to react in any
- 32:59Speaker 3: kind of way. And I think why he had it
- 33:01Speaker 3: so early was he doesn't want it filled up with
- 33:03Speaker 3: purse people screaming things out. Nevertheless, we are still and
- 33:08Speaker 3: there there was a woman that she had in a
- 33:10Speaker 3: She's like, I love you Tom, I love you Tom,
- 33:12Speaker 3: and he was head down over his piano and he
- 33:15Speaker 3: just said, I'm busy.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. It was something to remember. And like you,
- 33:22Speaker 2: there was one guy there on Mushies who was just
- 33:24Speaker 2: doing my head. And but apart from that brilliant.
- 33:27Speaker 1: The Hurdichy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Kissy.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Radio Ho, this goes out to you guys, giggy a
- 33:37Speaker 2: little Yes, indeed, we've just been talking about a gig.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Now is your opportunity. Let's go to Melissa and the
- 33:51Speaker 2: Far North. Goodame Melissa House, life. Hello, how you going?
- 33:56Speaker 8: How are we guys?
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah? Good? Thanks, well that's said good good. How was
- 33:59Speaker 2: your long weekend? And you're there Melissa? Yeah? Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Do you want to who would just spend who would
- 34:14Speaker 3: just spend the money on? If you if you managed
- 34:16Speaker 3: to win this, Melissa.
- 34:17Speaker 10: Well there's a little gig coming up next year that
- 34:21Speaker 10: might be worth popping along too. But a suicidal ten
- 34:23Speaker 10: of season Metallica.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I'll tell you what we'll do, Melissa, even
- 34:28Speaker 2: though you're cutting out on us here, we'll give you
- 34:30Speaker 2: five hundred bucks to do that, all right you Yeah.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Just incidentally, Melissa, what do you do for a crust?
- 34:38Speaker 10: I'm a manager for plumbing company.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Guys, massive backbone. Hey, well you stay on the line there, Melissa,
- 34:49Speaker 2: and we'll pass away over a big dilly in studio by.
- 34:53Speaker 4: She's gone to dillions.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, actually, yeah, how your dilly's going at the moment?
- 35:00Speaker 3: It's good quick?
- 35:01Speaker 2: Well yeah, yeah, because we know you've got a bit
- 35:04Speaker 2: of a collection.
- 35:05Speaker 5: You were saying, Ah, I over only got one deli mate,
- 35:09Speaker 5: and he's sitting there in studio bright.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Okay, you know what I'm saying, brother.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Hey, but listen, keep an ear up. For gig, A
- 35:15Speaker 2: little gig, a little because it happens every day, does it?
- 35:17Speaker 3: I think, yeah, could go off at any time.
- 35:20Speaker 5: You just got to listen out for that roar of
- 35:21Speaker 5: the encore and that five hundred bucks could be yours
- 35:24Speaker 5: for any gig you can dream up. That's obviously all
- 35:26Speaker 5: thanks so it mates, Its super like a cheers to
- 35:28Speaker 5: live gigs.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Yeah, great, hey, now listen, coming up a bit of
- 35:34Speaker 2: sports chat, some massive sporting events over the weekend. We'll
- 35:38Speaker 2: be getting into that next.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Jesus the Hurdarchy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue
- 35:45Speaker 1: and Kissy.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Faith No more there on the Radio Hodarchy Big Show
- 35:50Speaker 2: this Tuesday afternoon. Now, a lot of sporting action over
- 35:52Speaker 2: the weekend. Let's have a bit of sports chat, why not? Yeah, now, spot,
- 36:06Speaker 2: I want to start off with the cricket because I
- 36:09Speaker 2: still haven't got my head around the fact that the
- 36:13Speaker 2: black Caps have won a Test series in India. Yes,
- 36:17Speaker 2: I have no idea where that came from. And if
- 36:21Speaker 2: someone had has said that to me, I would have said,
- 36:23Speaker 2: you've gone stark, raving mad put them away.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Phenomenal effort by New Zealand to do that, particularly after
- 36:32Speaker 2: what happened in Sri Lanka. Mitchell sat in the thirteen
- 36:35Speaker 2: for one hundred and fifty odd, which I think is
- 36:38Speaker 2: the third best figures for a New Zealander.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Behind Hadley versus Australia.
- 36:43Speaker 2: And yes, it just absolutely unbelievable. And I was devastated
- 36:51Speaker 2: to miss the end of it. But I caught up
- 36:53Speaker 2: in the highlights because I was going to the gig.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Thought smoky, because my god, that's out of the blue.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Yeah it was.
- 36:58Speaker 3: It was a bloody ripper. But yet somehow I'm not
- 37:01Speaker 3: as thrilled as maybe I feel I should have been.
- 37:03Speaker 3: And I watched it, I didn't watch the end. I
- 37:06Speaker 3: was the same as you. I watched the highlights, which
- 37:07Speaker 3: is never the same. No, but bloody, absolutely bloody amazing.
- 37:10Speaker 3: And the only thing I can put it down to
- 37:12Speaker 3: is that Mike Lane has been banging on about putting
- 37:15Speaker 3: all your money have been banging on about putting all
- 37:17Speaker 3: your money that you had onto India because New Zealand's
- 37:21Speaker 3: never won over there. Yes, so then you why wouldn't
- 37:24Speaker 3: you put all of your money on them because you're
- 37:27Speaker 3: going to win Because New Zealand's never won over there. Well,
- 37:29Speaker 3: now we know why yes, it's because sooner or later
- 37:32Speaker 3: that's not going to be true. Yes, so yeah, I
- 37:34Speaker 3: put it down to the Lane curse. Bloody, just an
- 37:36Speaker 3: unbelievable result, particularly given we got smashed by Sri Lanka
- 37:39Speaker 3: only a couple of weeks. It's just mind blowing and
- 37:42Speaker 3: it goes to show that you know nothing and everybody
- 37:44Speaker 3: should shut up. Yes, you say get rid of South,
- 37:47Speaker 3: that you say sat and they shouldn't be there. There's
- 37:49Speaker 3: a Lathans, no good, there's all these things, every single
- 37:52Speaker 3: one of them delivers.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean and no King Williamson, Williams, Matt Henry
- 37:58Speaker 2: was and India were hurting after the first Test and
- 38:00Speaker 2: you think they're going to hand it out in the
- 38:03Speaker 2: second and we demolish.
- 38:04Speaker 3: And the beauty of it was and sadly for them,
- 38:07Speaker 3: we won the toss and that second test and that
- 38:09Speaker 3: did not go well for them for that point on.
- 38:11Speaker 2: It didn't all black singing. I don't I don't really
- 38:15Speaker 2: know what's going on there. I don't know about Razor's rain.
- 38:19Speaker 2: At the moment, I'm going what the hell was that?
- 38:22Speaker 3: It was? It was boring as all hells, Yes it was,
- 38:25Speaker 3: the first half was pretty good and I love that.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I love it when Japan's involved. I'm not I'm not
- 38:29Speaker 3: saying if the All Blacks aren't smashing it then it's boring. Yes,
- 38:33Speaker 3: I'm happy with the opposition scoring tries, but it was
- 38:36Speaker 3: just a series of blunders and a lack of direct
- 38:39Speaker 3: I don't know anyway, it was boring.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Yes to me?
- 38:43Speaker 3: The league look forward to as England this week. I
- 38:45Speaker 3: think yes, so there'll be a ripping the league.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I didn't watch, to my eternal shame, and not because
- 38:52Speaker 2: I didn't want to. I just forgot.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it was on. I had a bit of a
- 38:56Speaker 3: barbie on the Sunday there. I had it on my laptop.
- 38:58Speaker 3: People will give me shit about it as much as
- 39:00Speaker 3: I could without being a horrendous host, which is to
- 39:02Speaker 3: say not much of this at all. But it was
- 39:04Speaker 3: sitting there sadly. So yeah, missed it pretty much.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I think that's about it, is it?
- 39:09Speaker 10: Well?
- 39:09Speaker 3: You know you can say that jas or you could
- 39:11Speaker 3: also talk about the UFC. Tapuria smashed Holloway. You'll be
- 39:16Speaker 3: pleased to know that, Jase, but he is the changing
- 39:18Speaker 3: of a guard. There also Robert Whittaker had his jaw
- 39:22Speaker 3: ripped off and flushed down the toilet, boy comes up,
- 39:25Speaker 3: TAMAI ev it's one of the quickest taps ever. It
- 39:28Speaker 3: was good, good little fisty cuffs there, Andy. The other
- 39:32Speaker 3: thing was a Constellation cup. Jason, I know what a
- 39:34Speaker 3: fan you are. New Zealand beating Australia in the third test.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I think it's three out of four. Australia needed to
- 39:42Speaker 3: win that one to keep it alive. Just yet another
- 39:45Speaker 3: example of us having zero hope that we're going to win. Yes,
- 39:49Speaker 3: and yet the same with the women's Tea twenty and
- 39:51Speaker 3: the same with New Zealand versus India over there the
- 39:55Speaker 3: men's team. We somehow managed to pull these things out
- 39:58Speaker 3: of our asses.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I tell you what made its New Zealand purple patch
- 40:01Speaker 2: at the moment, and I'll take it with both hands
- 40:03Speaker 2: now listen. Coming up after six o'clock, what's on the
- 40:06Speaker 2: TV with my note and we touch upon a moral
- 40:09Speaker 2: dilemma that I talked about after five o'clock.
- 40:15Speaker 1: The Hurdichy Big Show with Jason, Mike and Keyzy. Tune
- 40:18Speaker 1: in week days at four on Radio hod Ikey.
- 40:21Speaker 6: Sh Fig Speak Show with Nice and.
- 40:29Speaker 2: You welcome back your massive backbones. I almost wasn't ready there, fellas,
- 40:32Speaker 2: I was rolling a dirry good on you ye sick?
- 40:35Speaker 2: Speaking of Seck you're listening to the Big Shape or
- 40:37Speaker 2: to you by Tilly? Yeah responsibly obviously, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Keep an eye for the telly billboards as well their
- 40:46Speaker 4: back fellas.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, well look I think it was a
- 40:49Speaker 3: kind of dawn age man where you could do with
- 40:50Speaker 3: the laugh.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, any way you can get it Oregon. Yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 2: did you know do you beg and the sponsors? What's
- 40:55Speaker 2: that you shouldn't do that?
- 40:59Speaker 4: Do you notice that from bagging?
- 41:00Speaker 2: Did you notice how Mogi did that? Beautiful?
- 41:05Speaker 3: Was a little bit heard about how I spoke to
- 41:07Speaker 3: him early? Yeah, I didn't even know what I mean.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Speaking of Pugs, he joined us on the podcast out
- 41:14Speaker 2: He's no keysy obviously at the moment, all the rest.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Of the weekends banging on, wouldn't he Oh God, talk.
- 41:21Speaker 2: About you know me?
- 41:23Speaker 3: Shut him up?
- 41:25Speaker 2: Yeah, just banging on about. I'm talking about what about
- 41:30Speaker 2: your exploits?
- 41:32Speaker 3: And although you were calling them sixploits?
- 41:35Speaker 2: Hang on, what's the clip about today? Pugs? An?
- 41:38Speaker 4: So this is a big Dilly special. It's called lawn trimming.
- 41:42Speaker 4: You want to hear.
- 41:45Speaker 2: She knew he did lawns and stuff. Good looking fellow to.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Your lawns for you, that fellow people's lawns.
- 41:53Speaker 2: He was a good looking fellow. And she said, I've
- 41:55Speaker 2: asked him to come over and do the lawns. I
- 41:57Speaker 2: remember going, well, I, I mean I.
- 42:05Speaker 3: All of a sudden he's found the motivation that has
- 42:08Speaker 3: avoided him for the mum.
- 42:10Speaker 2: And but I didn't, of course, because we didn't have
- 42:12Speaker 2: a la speaking of trimming the lawn.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Yeah, what they're true, it's pel jam.
- 42:21Speaker 1: The Hierarchy Big Show was Jason, Mike and Kyzy tune
- 42:24Speaker 1: in four on Radio Hocky lemon Heads.
- 42:27Speaker 2: There on the Radio Darchy Big Show this Tuesday evening
- 42:30Speaker 2: now after five, I talked about a moral dilemma I
- 42:34Speaker 2: had at my local dairy today where I was buying
- 42:37Speaker 2: a little poucher backing and as we were saying, Mogy,
- 42:41Speaker 2: she ain't cheap anymore, mate, it ain't cheap and it
- 42:44Speaker 2: costs I think about ninety two bucks or something like that.
- 42:48Speaker 2: And when he entered it into the FPOs machine there
- 42:51Speaker 2: keV my local dairy owner, he only put in two bucks, yes,
- 42:54Speaker 2: And I suddenly went, oh my god, now do I
- 42:57Speaker 2: tell him that he's not got it right, or do
- 42:59Speaker 2: I just take the one and walk out?
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but you felt like a goddamn hero, didn't you
- 43:04Speaker 3: when you let him know? You were walked out there
- 43:06Speaker 3: with your cheirs puffed up totally.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Man. Yea, And I have to say, actually, Kevin is
- 43:11Speaker 2: a lovely man, works very hard, So I feel good
- 43:13Speaker 2: about doing that. But I put it out there on
- 43:16Speaker 2: three four eight three. What would you do in that situation?
- 43:20Speaker 3: I got one here and see as we went to
- 43:22Speaker 3: a family owned Indian store, ordered sixty five dollars worth
- 43:26Speaker 3: of food. My card declined, but old mate didn't see
- 43:30Speaker 3: it because he was walking away to go and grab
- 43:32Speaker 3: the food from the kitchen. I never see anything, took
- 43:35Speaker 3: the food and left.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Oh you see, that's brazen.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Theft still haunts me to this day. Oh yes, so
- 43:41Speaker 3: you can go back and you can pay that money. Yes,
- 43:43Speaker 3: she gets the beauty of that, and then you'll feel beauty.
- 43:45Speaker 3: You'll be freed.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Well, Logan who called us up, said he went to
- 43:51Speaker 2: mine attend and got a jigsaw basically for free, and
- 43:54Speaker 2: we were kind of going, well, big corporation, it's not
- 43:56Speaker 2: such a big deal, A little business. Yeah, she's a
- 43:59Speaker 2: bit more gnarly. Yeah, well it's you know, it's just
- 44:03Speaker 2: fight shock you. But yeah, it's wrong and both. Yes, Yes,
- 44:08Speaker 2: when I was when I was a younger man, I
- 44:10Speaker 2: was never a big thief. But when I was on
- 44:12Speaker 2: the doll I was eighteen and I used to go
- 44:14Speaker 2: and do my shop when I was living out at
- 44:15Speaker 2: Way Beach in HOOFENAA there and I'd go into town
- 44:19Speaker 2: and i'd go to the local supermarket there. I won't
- 44:22Speaker 2: say which one, but there was only one.
- 44:24Speaker 3: And you go in there and as I was doing
- 44:26Speaker 3: my weekly shop, I would grab myself a pie and
- 44:29Speaker 3: I'd eat that as I went around the store doing
- 44:31Speaker 3: my shop, and then i'd just throw the wrapper on
- 44:33Speaker 3: one of the shelves. Yes, And somehow I'd manage to
- 44:36Speaker 3: justify that to myself like that was all good. And
- 44:40Speaker 3: I don't know how I did that. I don't know
- 44:44Speaker 3: how I did that. Yeah, but that was the only
- 44:46Speaker 3: thief and I ever did. I used to work at
- 44:47Speaker 3: that same supermarket and they were paying me four dollars
- 44:51Speaker 3: fifteen an hour there, so maybe I felt like they
- 44:54Speaker 3: owed me, which they didn't.
- 44:56Speaker 4: This text A and three for three.
- 44:58Speaker 5: The bigger question is if Kevin had charged you a
- 45:00Speaker 5: undred and ninety two bucks, would he have chased you
- 45:01Speaker 5: down the road?
- 45:02Speaker 4: That's the grief that have done that, oh, keV, Yeah,
- 45:07Speaker 4: there would.
- 45:08Speaker 2: And he's also there's also been a situation where I've
- 45:12Speaker 2: forgot my card or something like that, and he's gone,
- 45:13Speaker 2: don't worry about it, just pay it when you when
- 45:15Speaker 2: you get Yeah. Yeah, yeah, there's good vibes going all
- 45:18Speaker 2: around there.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I think so as well. And ultimately you're
- 45:23Speaker 3: in a relationship with Kevin I am, and you might
- 45:26Speaker 3: have had a potential for a short term gain the
- 45:28Speaker 3: ninety dollars, yes, But then the other thing that would
- 45:31Speaker 3: happen is if you came back and he hit you
- 45:33Speaker 3: up about it, you'd be forced to deny it, yes,
- 45:36Speaker 3: and then he would say, well, you're banned from the store,
- 45:38Speaker 3: and you'd say, oh not, Kevin, don't be like that man, Yeah,
- 45:40Speaker 3: come on and say no, no, you're off, and then
- 45:42Speaker 3: he'd have to go up the road, which would be
- 45:43Speaker 3: a mess of pain the out.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Well. I mean, you see, that's what filtered through my
- 45:47Speaker 2: brain is I could conceivably go I didn't actually look
- 45:50Speaker 2: at the amount, Yeah, I just did it.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, that's yeah, totally becomes a weird dec.
- 45:59Speaker 4: There's a text, man, Honesty's the best policy. Calm as
- 46:02Speaker 4: a bitch, yeah, man oh man, Yeah, you know what
- 46:05Speaker 4: I'm saying.
- 46:07Speaker 1: The whole Archy Big Show with Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue.
- 46:11Speaker 2: And Kisy System of a down there on the radio.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Hold Archy Big Show this Tuesday afternoon. Let's talk TV.
- 46:20Speaker 2: What's on the Telly with Mike Minogue?
- 46:27Speaker 6: Yes, Jesus, what.
- 46:37Speaker 2: What an abomination?
- 46:39Speaker 3: Cofin there? I've ever done that before.
- 46:42Speaker 2: I did notice that I've forgot to give that myself. Actually,
- 46:44Speaker 2: when I've really hit the diaries hard.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Hey, fellas, I watched Woman of the Hour, Well, actually
- 46:50Speaker 3: I didn't id of. Did you know Women of the
- 46:53Speaker 3: J Kendrick there? You talked about it last week? Yes,
- 46:56Speaker 3: it's on Netflix. It's she directed, and A. Kendrick also stars.
- 47:00Speaker 3: And it's this true story. It's undeniably powerful. According to
- 47:05Speaker 3: the Hollywood Reporter, a true story of an axious match
- 47:08Speaker 3: with a serial killer on a dating game show is
- 47:11Speaker 3: a true story. And mao AV was watching it with
- 47:14Speaker 3: a couple of our mates yesterday afternoon as we basked
- 47:16Speaker 3: and another hangover, and I just found it unwatchably and interesting.
- 47:24Speaker 3: I don't really know why people even bother making those
- 47:27Speaker 3: films again, which is about you know, like five scenes
- 47:30Speaker 3: of a woman being horrendously murdered, yes, sexual assault. I'm
- 47:34Speaker 3: just like, why would I watch that? There's nothing that
- 47:39Speaker 3: I find in the slightest interesting about that. I'm not
- 47:43Speaker 3: going to watch reenactuance of that. Well, yeah, I'll just
- 47:46Speaker 3: pass on that. There's I'll watch anything else. I'll watch nothing.
- 47:49Speaker 2: The amount of shows actually you know that start off
- 47:53Speaker 2: with some a woman being chased through the bush and
- 47:56Speaker 2: you just you just get to a point and my
- 47:58Speaker 2: wife and I have Sidney got to that point now
- 48:00Speaker 2: where we're both like no, yeah.
- 48:03Speaker 3: And that's why I found it so interesting that this
- 48:05Speaker 3: was directed by Anna Kendrick, as I have all of
- 48:07Speaker 3: the things that she could have done. I don't know
- 48:09Speaker 3: why she would choose to do this, Yes, because it
- 48:11Speaker 3: wasn't done in a way that was a uniquely female perspective. No,
- 48:14Speaker 3: I think it was the same as every other thing
- 48:16Speaker 3: you've seen where you just get the creeps and yeah,
- 48:19Speaker 3: you want to turn it off. So I did zero
- 48:21Speaker 3: buzzies out of fire. Yeah nice, and I'm well made
- 48:24Speaker 3: I'm sure people will like it, but it's not for
- 48:27Speaker 3: old Magi.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Fair enough for Maggie. I watched a show last night
- 48:31Speaker 2: called Territory. Oh it's a new one. Yeah, I don't
- 48:34Speaker 2: Serah Wiseman. Yeah, yeah, it's made of mine. Matthew Sunderland
- 48:39Speaker 2: in it. He plays He's perpetually playing wastes and strays,
- 48:44Speaker 2: but he's a brilliant actor. And I don't know if
