- 0:00theresa: You are the prophet, AI is the scribe.
- 0:03theresa: I say that all the time, and today's guest is a woman who has built her whole practice around helping business owners walk that out.
- 0:11theresa: She teaches business owners how to lean on AI as a tool without letting it drown the human spark that made their business real in the first place.
- 0:21theresa: If AI has been making you sound less like you, this conversation is for you.
- 0:27theresa: Hey, I'm Theresa Croft.
- 0:28theresa: Welcome back to the Stuck No More Voices podcast.
- 0:31theresa: I'm a visibility strategist who helps Christian women clarify the story they carry, position their message, and build a visibility pathway so the right people f- can find them and work with them.

- 0:51theresa: Thank you so much.
- 0:53theresa: And if this episode encourages you, be sure to share this podcast with someone, like a friend, so the right people, the right women find this room.
- 1:03theresa: So this is the deal.
- 1:04theresa: This episode is a feature of the Stuck No More Voices podcast.
- 1:08theresa: It's called The Calling Sessions, The Calling Table Sessions.
- 1:13theresa: It is a seat to keep for Christian women whose story deserves to be handled with care and whose voice is ready to be heard.
- 1:20theresa: So pull up a chair.
- 1:22theresa: Today at the table is Shay Sparks, who guides business owners to leverage AI without losing their human spark.
- 1:30theresa: This is really exciting,'cause you're, you're not just into AI.
- 1:33theresa: You've got lots of things covered.
- 1:35theresa: So Shay, welcome so much.
- 1:37Shay: I- Oh, thank you for having me, Theresa.
- 1:39Shay: I'm so excited to be here.
- 1:40theresa: Yeah, so I always ask the story behind the business.
- 1:44theresa: So can you take us back just a few s- ways to the You know, often I feel like your misery creates your destiny, so take us back- to some of the moments that brought you to this point.
- 1:56Shay: All the misery creates destiny.
- 1:58Shay: Well, how true that is.
- 1:59Shay: That is true,
- 2:01theresa: huh?
- 2:02Shay: How true.
- 2:02Shay: Um, yeah, so it's, I'll talk about my misery, I guess.
- 2:05Shay: So I was in an abusive relationship.
- 2:07Shay: Mm.
- 2:07Shay: And when I got out, I started on my healing journey, and started going to Christian counseling, reading books.
- 2:13theresa: Mm.
- 2:13Shay: Uh, listened to podcasts, right?
- 2:15Shay: All the things.
- 2:15Shay: Started really just peeling away the layers of the onion that I am, that we all are.
- 2:20theresa: Oh, geez.
- 2:21Shay: And really found my own voice.
- 2:24theresa: Yeah.
- 2:25Shay: And what I...
- 2:26Shay: And when I say found, I didn't even realize that we, I had an inner voice.
- 2:31theresa: Yeah.
- 2:31Shay: That was very negative.
- 2:33Shay: Okay.
- 2:33Shay: That was very toxic, and it was putting me down.
- 2:36Shay: Um, as I dug deeper, I realized it was programmed-
- 2:40theresa: Wow
- 2:40Shay: from the house that I grew up in.
- 2:42theresa: Mm.
- 2:42Shay: And it didn't even occur to me that the reason I was in the abusive relationship that I was in, because it was familiar.
- 2:50theresa: Wow.
- 2:51Shay: And so, uh, he had combined all of the negative traits from every single one of my family, my brothers, my parents, and my grandmother, and rolled it into one delightful person, times a hundred.
- 3:03Shay: And, um, as I went through this and really started to notice and capture what I was saying to myself-
- 3:13theresa: Okay
- 3:14Shay: and changed it.
- 3:15theresa: Yeah.
- 3:16Shay: I then started changing how I spoke to my dad.
- 3:19Shay: Wow.
- 3:19Shay: Of all people.
- 3:21theresa: Of all people, yeah.
- 3:22Shay: Wow.
- 3:22Shay: And I'm gonna put this on mute real quick.
- 3:24Shay: I thought I did that, sorry.
- 3:26theresa: No, it's o- while you pause, I just...
- 3:28theresa: I- I, so resonate.
- 3:30theresa: It's like- Uh, my husband died four years ago, but it's only then that I could be free.
- 3:36theresa: And I like what you said, a lot of counseling, a lot of training your mind.
- 3:40theresa: I went to a neurocycle, a strategist, one of the best w- besides Dr.
- 3:45theresa: Caroline Leaf, and I'm sorry, folks, counseling is really good, but there's nothing like really seeing what God designed in your brain.
- 3:53theresa: So thank you for saying that,'cause whoa.
- 3:56Shay: Yeah.
- 3:56theresa: That's
- 3:57Shay: tough.
- 3:57Shay: Well, and my, and my counselor, who is Christian counselor, he was really good at, like, saying,"Okay, so what you're saying to yourself, is that something how God would see you or how God would s- Mm-hmm what God would say to you?"
- 4:12theresa: Mm.
- 4:12Shay: And I was like,"Well, yeah." And he's like,"That is not the God we know." Wow.
- 4:18Shay: And I was like, wow.
- 4:20theresa: Yeah.
- 4:21Shay: Like, just like, what?
- 4:23Shay: Exactly.
- 4:23Shay: Like, that hadn't occurred to me.
- 4:25theresa: Yeah.
- 4:26theresa: What a shift.
- 4:26Shay: And I went- Yeah wow.
- 4:28Shay: Yeah.
- 4:28Shay: I guess in part of my, um, journey, I thought I was being punished for something.
- 4:33theresa: Oh, wow.
- 4:33Shay: And that God was punishing me, and he was like,"No."
- 4:36theresa: Oh.
- 4:37Shay: That's not it at all."
- 4:38theresa: No.
- 4:38theresa: He said,"I gave you Sparks." Is that your real name or married name?
- 4:41theresa: I- regardless,"I gave you the name Spark'cause you're a spark, girl."
- 4:46Shay: So my last name is Sparks.
- 4:47Shay: It was my born, born into.
- 4:49Shay: Oh, I love
- 4:49theresa: it.
- 4:50Shay: And, um, it took me many years to like it.
- 4:53Shay: Uh,'cause I realized it's a verb.
- 4:56Shay: I didn't kn- I didn't realize it was just a v- a verb and a noun.
- 4:59Shay: Um-
- 4:59theresa: Oh, wow.
- 4:59theresa: That's great
- 5:00Shay: but yeah.
- 5:00Shay: I love it.
- 5:01Shay: But yeah, so anyway, that's where the misery started was all the way back then.
- 5:04Shay: Yeah.
- 5:04theresa: Yeah, and you know, there's something about, uh, that journey of finding your voice, and you know, sometimes it gets overused, but tell me if this isn't part of how you see it.
- 5:15theresa: Finding your voice is really, like, an, an identity shift,'cause your identity- Absolutely gets hijacked, and it just shuts you down.
- 5:23theresa: Is that, is that what you feel?
- 5:25Shay: Absolutely.
- 5:26Shay: A- in fact, so since then, I do a lot of work with veterans now, and I'm not- Ooh comparing abusive relationships to the military, however.
- 5:33Shay: Thank you.
- 5:33Shay: When I am...
- 5:34Shay: It's the identity part that you just mentioned, that a lot of times we y- we don't talk about enough-
- 5:41theresa: Yeah
- 5:41Shay: i- in that world, right?
- 5:43Shay: Yeah.
- 5:43Shay: In the veter- in the military community.
- 5:45Shay: Sure.
- 5:45Shay: Love it.
- 5:45Shay: But it goes along the, the lines of even executives, too.
- 5:49Shay: Mm-hmm.
- 5:49Shay: Yeah.
- 5:49Shay: We,
- 5:49theresa: we,
- 5:50Shay: we have these labels, right?
- 5:53Shay: These words that we put on, or ranks that we have.
- 5:57Shay: Mm-hmm.
- 5:57Shay: Um, now an abusive relationship, they're negative, and they're toxic, and they're not really a- Yeah a feel-good rank, right?
- 6:04theresa: Right.
- 6:04Shay: But in the, in the, in the professional world, they're sergeant, they're manager, they're CEO, they're boss, you know, whatever the, the, the label is.
- 6:13Shay: And when that is stripped away- Then you're, like, left with this thing of, well, who am I?
- 6:22theresa: Yeah.
- 6:23Shay: If I'm not being told who I am.
- 6:25theresa: Right.
- 6:26Shay: Then it goes into, well, then I get to decide- Mm and create-
- 6:31theresa: Mm
- 6:32Shay: who I want to be.
- 6:34Shay: Well, I don't know how to do that.
- 6:36Shay: So- And so I feel like I, I, I call it my, um, curious exploration journey.
- 6:44theresa: Good.
- 6:44Shay: Um, alongside the healing journey.
- 6:46theresa: Yeah.
- 6:47Shay: Because then I really chose and created and decided and was like,"Okay, well then this is fun." Yeah.
- 6:53Shay: Now I get to figure out, not just figure out, but who I want to be.
- 6:57theresa: Right.
- 6:58theresa: Thank you for that.
- 6:59theresa: So you were a daughter of a Vietnam War vet.
- 7:03theresa: Did that make you lean towards those in the military at a particular time?
- 7:09Shay: So it's funny how all that is God's divine timing.
- 7:13Shay: I mean, honestly.
- 7:14Shay: So six months before he passed away, my dad and one of my brothers and I were having a conversation.
- 7:19Shay: Um, we had just finished his chemo appointment earlier that day, and we had went out to dinner, and he was like, started just out of the blue, started telling us how he was drafted to Korea during the Vietnam War.
- 7:30Shay: And I was like,"You were drafted?
- 7:32Shay: I thought you had enlisted." And he was like,"No." And I said Kor- the Vietnam War?
- 7:36Shay: You'd always said Korea, so I just assumed it was the Korean War.
- 7:39Shay: And he was like,"No."
- 7:40theresa: Oh,
- 7:40Shay: wow.
- 7:40Shay: So here I am in my early tw- 40s.
- 7:44theresa: Yeah.
- 7:44Shay: Had my whole life had no idea that he had been drafted- Wow to the Kor- the Vietnam War.
- 7:51Shay: And, um, you know, I didn't get it until, um, after he was gone.
- 7:57Shay: I was like,"Ugh, why didn't I record that conversation?"
- 8:01theresa: Mm.
- 8:01Shay: Why didn't...
- 8:02Shay: You know, we have such a, we have such an opportunity in the world, especially now as podcasters.
- 8:10Shay: Mm.
- 8:10Shay: As podcasters.
- 8:11Shay: But he was really the inspiration-
- 8:14theresa: Mm
- 8:14Shay: to get me started in podcasting, because again, it was just a few weeks after he passed away that I was kicking myself for not recording that conversation.
- 8:22Shay: Oh, wow.
- 8:22theresa: Mm.
- 8:23Shay: But I thought- Mm talk about voice.
- 8:26Shay: You know, here I had been working on my own voice.
- 8:29Shay: Changing the voice, I spoke to him.
- 8:31Shay: He ended up becoming my best friend in the last- Oh, beautiful five years of his life.
- 8:35theresa: Wow.
- 8:35Shay: All because God healed me- Yeah and then worked through me, right?
- 8:39Shay: Mm.
- 8:39Shay: And then, and then I realized that when we learn things, it's knowledge, but it's not until they, we share it.
- 8:47Shay: Mm-hmm.
- 8:47Shay: That's when it becomes wisdom.
- 8:48theresa: Yeah.
- 8:49theresa: Yeah.
- 8:49Shay: And our voice is our legacy.
- 8:52theresa: Mm.
- 8:53theresa: Mm.
- 8:53Shay: And so I'm like,"Well, how, why didn't I think about this before?"'Cause, you know, we don't, right?
- 8:57Shay: When you're in it, you don't really think about it.
- 8:59theresa: No.
- 9:00Shay: And I was like, man, I, and I had lost my mom two years before him.
- 9:03theresa: Mm.
- 9:03Shay: So I was like, man, I'll never, I'll never know.
- 9:06Shay: There's a lot of things I'll never know.
- 9:07theresa: Yeah.
- 9:08Shay: A lot of things I wish I would've asked.
- 9:10Shay: And I really feel like, and anyone who is listening to this, that if you have your dear loved one still near you- Yeah and still can, record conversations.
- 9:21Shay: Mm.
- 9:21Shay: Whether it's on your phone or- Mm or, uh, a video, or something to literally publish- Yeah like a podcast, but hold onto it- Yeah because once they're gone, you will, um, you will miss their voice.
- 9:33theresa: That ministers to me,'cause right now, my dad died early, which is another story, but my mom now is struggling with, uh, Alzheimer's.
- 9:42Shay: Yeah.
- 9:42theresa: And, um, I need to not stop thinking it's a, uh, just to get her to remember things.
- 9:49theresa: And at least she knows my name, praise God.
- 9:51theresa: But it's like- Yeah I'll be coming home from the radio station, and I've worked there for years.
- 9:56theresa: "Where do you work now?" So thank you for that.
- 9:59theresa: I need to still- She still has a voice.
- 10:02Shay: Yep.
- 10:03theresa: So-
- 10:03Shay: L- lean into it.
- 10:04Shay: Yeah
- 10:04theresa: what do you think when you have your clients come to you...
- 10:07theresa: Sorry about my voice.
- 10:08theresa: I'm losing my voice.
- 10:09theresa: So when you have clients come, what are their issues usually behind being voiceless?
- 10:16Shay: Ooh Hmm, that's a good question.
- 10:21Shay: Well, I think it goes into that identity piece we were talking about, right?
- 10:26Shay: I think it goes into, um, the things that they're believing about themselves.
- 10:33theresa: Yeah.
- 10:33Shay: The things that they've been told about themselves.
- 10:36Shay: And so a lot of times we will...
- 10:39Shay: I will ask a question like,"Well, where does that come from?
- 10:42Shay: When was the first time you heard that?"
- 10:45theresa: Yeah.
- 10:45Shay: And they're like,"Well, gosh, I don't know." And I'm like,"It's okay.
- 10:47Shay: You don't need to know right now, but z- in a moment I'll ask you to just close your eyes and think about it."
- 10:52theresa: Mm.
- 10:52Shay: And they're like,"Oh, I don't want to do that." I'm like,"Okay, we won't do that." And then I get them talking about something else, and I'm like,"All right, so just take a moment-
- 10:59theresa: That's good
- 10:59Shay: and close your eyes." And they're...
- 11:01Shay: And before they know it, they're doing it, and they, when even when they didn't want to do it.
- 11:05Shay: Um, but I think the voiceless really comes from our past.
- 11:10theresa: Yeah.
- 11:10Shay: Right?
- 11:11Shay: And, and what we have been conditioned or programmed, told- Yeah that we've picked up and carried with us.
- 11:20Shay: Wow.
- 11:20Shay: Especially, I think from 35 on- Yeah there is something that is shifts in our brain that's like, wait a minute, I don't have to believe what I've always believed about me.
- 11:33theresa: So good.
- 11:35theresa: Okay, so I mentioned AI at the top.
- 11:38Shay: Yeah.
- 11:38theresa: I love AI, but I would love to hear your perspective on it.
- 11:42theresa: I do, sorry, I really journal, and I'm...
- 11:48theresa: don't stop that, but I love how AI, it's so...
- 11:53theresa: People, remember, it's a tool, guys.
- 11:55theresa: This is a tool, and AI is a tool.
- 11:58theresa: So what, what's, what...
- 11:59theresa: Give me some of your perspectives on how you use AI and how you help business people with AI.
- 12:04Shay: Yeah, so I have, um- The amazing blessing to have lots of clients who are business owners.
- 12:12Shay: That's good.
- 12:12Shay: And a lot of them are in the beginning stages.
- 12:14theresa: Okay.
- 12:14Shay: They are like,"I know that I have a lot of wisdom." Mm-hmm.
- 12:18Shay: "And I want to start a business, but I don't know what that looks like." Wow.
- 12:20Shay: And so what I do is kind of like what podcasting, right?
- 12:25Shay: I interview them, and I take lots of notes.
- 12:27Shay: Yeah.
- 12:27theresa: Okay.
- 12:27Shay: And then we create what I call, um, a, a business and personal DNA.
- 12:32theresa: Hmm.
- 12:33Shay: And really g- you know, fill it out to where then we can teach their AI-
- 12:39theresa: Right
- 12:39Shay: how to respond to them, what their goals are, what are they looking for.
- 12:44Shay: Yeah.
- 12:44Shay: You know, their own voice.
- 12:45Shay: Right.
- 12:46Shay: Where it's, um, you know- Mm-hmm maybe it's posts.
- 12:48Shay: Mm-hmm.
- 12:49Shay: You know, and k- so their marketing and messaging is sounding more like them.
- 12:53theresa: So good.
- 12:53Shay: But for the most part, so let me tell you about when I first started working with AI.
- 12:57Shay: Okay.
- 12:57Shay: Gosh, it was probably, I don't e- even know, maybe four or five years ago- That's about when
- 13:02theresa: I started, yeah when
- 13:03Shay: it was like Gemini or, uh, I, I think it was even something before Gemini.
- 13:07Shay: Yeah.
- 13:07Shay: But it was something, right?
- 13:08theresa: Yeah.
- 13:09Shay: And they, actually, I think Google Assistant,'cause I have a Android, so, um- Good for those of you who have Android understand this.
- 13:16Shay: There was Google Assistant, and I would play with Google Assistant just to kind of see what it did.
- 13:20theresa: Okay.
- 13:20Shay: And it literally held a conversation with you.
- 13:24theresa: Hello.
- 13:24Shay: Like, you could ask a question and it would come back.
- 13:27Shay: It would tell, so it was like Alexa, right?
- 13:30Shay: Like, you can do that with Alexa and be like,"Tell me a joke of the day," right?
- 13:33Shay: And so it was a different AI, but now it's just gotten so much, uh, more intelligent, right?
- 13:40Shay: Yeah.
- 13:40Shay: Or, um, but my, my thing is, is that I actually have seen, seen a major pattern with my clients, is that AI, um, will give you too much information.
- 13:52theresa: Sure.
- 13:53Shay: And then that creates decision fatigue.
- 13:56theresa: That's
- 13:56Shay: so good.
- 13:56Shay: It creates overwhelm.
- 13:58theresa: Yeah.
- 13:58Shay: It creates a fear in the world, even just talking about it, that I'm left behind.
- 14:05theresa: Hmm.
- 14:06Shay: And so I actually just spoke at an Air Force conference about this.
- 14:11theresa: Wow.
- 14:11Shay: And I was shocked about how many people was like,"Yeah, I feel left behind."
- 14:17theresa: Oh.
- 14:17Shay: And I said,"So here's the problem with that."
- 14:20theresa: Okay.
- 14:21Shay: Is that if you feeling left behind- And you're not talking about it- Mm with your community- Yeah inside your trusted community, inside your team, inside your friends, inside other people who use it, then you're going to start, what, isolating yourself.
- 14:39theresa: Wow.
- 14:40theresa: Yeah.
- 14:40Shay: Then you're gonna start hiding- Mm the, the feelings that are showing up.
- 14:44theresa: Yeah.
- 14:45Shay: And then we go into a d- a deeper depression, because it's not just overwhelm now, now it's worse.
- 14:51Shay: Yeah.
- 14:51Shay: And you're isolating yourself, and you're not telling anybody about it.
- 14:54theresa: Wow.
- 14:54Shay: And then, and then we go into, um,"I feel abandoned."
- 14:59theresa: Mm.
- 14:59Shay: Because nobody's helping me." Yeah.
- 15:01Shay: But yet you didn't ask, because now you're down in a, a pit, a hol- a hole.
- 15:05theresa: Wow.
- 15:05Shay: And now you don't know how to get out.
- 15:07Shay: Yeah.
- 15:07Shay: And unfortunately, here I was at the Air Force, and this is so prominent, but it even goes, um, to anyone.
- 15:13theresa: Yeah.
- 15:13Shay: 22 a day.
- 15:15theresa: Yeah.
- 15:15theresa: I feel like if- When
- 15:16Shay: you get to that point
- 15:17theresa: if someone's maybe negative, they don't really understand it
- 15:21Shay: Yeah, and, and that's just it.
- 15:23Shay: I see, I just saw, um, an ad the other day that was focused on, I think this woman was probably, looked like she was about in her 80s, but- maybe 70 to 80, that, that...
- 15:34Shay: And I have clients that are in their late 70s, but I, that they're, uh, literally using the voice feature on it, and it's talking back to them, and they're getting- Yeah a companion, quote, unquote.
- 15:45theresa: Huh.
- 15:46Shay: And I'm like,"This is the problem-" Yeah"we're gonna have if we don't watch it." Yes.
- 15:51Shay: So when I spoke to the Air Force, I have created what I like to call the HI, I bring the hi to the AI.
- 15:58Shay: Yeah.
- 15:58Shay: The, the human interaction, the human integration.
- 16:02theresa: Yeah.
- 16:02Shay: So what does that mean?
- 16:03Shay: That means how can we continue to remain human-
- 16:07theresa: Right
- 16:07Shay: and make, have discernment.
- 16:10theresa: Mm.
- 16:11Shay: Make decisions.
- 16:12theresa: So good.
- 16:13Shay: Keep our curiosity, keep our c-creativity.
- 16:16Shay: Yes,
- 16:16theresa: very good.
- 16:17theresa: Yeah.
- 16:17Shay: Keep our, um, ability to, um, have critical thinking.
- 16:24theresa: Yeah, no doubt.
- 16:25Shay: And, and then be able to go,"Is this the right thing?"
- 16:30theresa: Mm.
- 16:30Shay: Or is this an easy thing?"
- 16:32theresa: Wow, so good.
- 16:33theresa: I appreciate
- 16:34Shay: that.
- 16:34Shay: And then be able to, like I said, connect with other people-
- 16:37theresa: Yeah
- 16:37Shay: who are really open to having conversations about AI, and just going,"Hey, this is what I'm doing.
- 16:43Shay: What do you think about this?" I have found that when people are willing to talk about it, then it's not scary anymore.
- 16:50theresa: Yeah, so good.
- 16:52Shay: They're not, they're not feeling left behind because let's be honest, everyone's behind.
- 16:55theresa: Yeah.
- 16:56Shay: Even the people who are, like, AI experts are behind.
- 16:59Shay: I mean, we just, as saw in the, in the news, which I didn't watch, but I saw a headline that, you know, it took over the, the CEO- Yeah, yeah of one of the AIs, right?
- 17:08Shay: Yeah.
- 17:08Shay: So it's like this, they are even left behind.
- 17:12theresa: My son is keeping me updated and, and I s- he was talking about an article and I said,"Are you telling me this is the article about how AI is gaining knowledge and, you know, surpassing people?" And he's like, my son's not real big on AI, but this is the key.
- 17:27theresa: Okay, if you talk down to basics, I am a person that wants to use it.
- 17:32theresa: Correct me if I'm wrong, but the number one key is you gotta teach it how you talk, what your values are.
- 17:38theresa: I even have a truth protocol.
- 17:39theresa: If it's not truthful, then don't sugarcoat it.
- 17:42theresa: They, I mean, it's amazing what, I'm just saying, it's amazing when you learn to train your AIs.
- 17:49theresa: Uh, and then you correct'em.
- 17:50theresa: No, that's not what I want to say, and tell it what you want to say, and then have that settings to say,"Don't say this." To me, that's just it.
- 17:59Shay: Yeah.
- 18:00Shay: Yeah.
- 18:01Shay: And, and, um, values.
- 18:03Shay: Yes, values.
- 18:03Shay: Thank you.
- 18:03Shay: I have, I, I have, I have people...
- 18:05Shay: I call it the HI prompt, right?
- 18:07Shay: 'Cause you have the AI prompt.
- 18:08Shay: So the HI prompt is, what are your values?
- 18:10theresa: Ooh, that's good.
- 18:11Shay: And what does that mean?
- 18:13Shay: And then put it into AI- Yeah and say,"These are my values.
- 18:17Shay: Base everything that you're giving back to me- Yeah going back to this."
- 18:21theresa: Yeah.
- 18:22Shay: I have even put that in my instruction, like, I, I am a God-fearing woman.
- 18:25theresa: Yes.
- 18:26Shay: Make that the most thing, the, the best thing ever.
- 18:29Shay: Now, here's the fun part about AI.
- 18:31theresa: Yeah.
- 18:32Shay: I will take it, uh, go to my Bible app, uh, on a daily basis and see- Uh-huh the verse of the day.
- 18:37Shay: Okay.
- 18:38Shay: And then I'll share it to my Chatty Cathy, as I affectionately call my ChatGPT.
- 18:42Shay: Okay.
- 18:42Shay: A- and it'll give me how that verse of the day applies to me.
- 18:45theresa: That's good.
- 18:46Shay: Now, some people are like,"Well, you're defeating the purpose of reading the Bible."
- 18:49theresa: No.
- 18:49Shay: Am I?
- 18:50theresa: No.
- 18:51Shay: Because I grew up in the King James Version.
- 18:54theresa: Ooh, yeah.
- 18:55Shay: Where, right, where there was a lot of there and thous and- Yeah arts, and I'm like, phoomp, it's over my head.
- 19:00Shay: I'm not...
- 19:01Shay: I'm, I'm, I'm, no, I'm not listening.
- 19:03Shay: That is- I'm not processing it
- 19:05theresa: a great idea.
- 19:05theresa: I just- No may have to capture that idea.
- 19:08theresa: I, I got one.
- 19:09Shay: I love using it for that.
- 19:10theresa: I, one, I got one better.
- 19:12theresa: I mean, not better.
- 19:13theresa: Yeah.
- 19:13theresa: Uh, I can say it to you'cause you won't criticize me.
- 19:16theresa: Mm-mm.
- 19:16theresa: I have...
- 19:17theresa: I still go to counseling and, uh, mentoring, and she's actually more my business coach now, but I will reco- I've been recording her for three years.
- 19:25theresa: So I've- Yeah set up, uh, I'm, I'm a Claude person, but I set it up in ChatGPT.
- 19:30theresa: I said- Yeah this is just has to do, and I put her name.
- 19:34theresa: So after every session I have with her, I put it in there, and now it's learning what I value and learning my healing process.
- 19:42theresa: It's like I got another coach, a- based on a good coach.
- 19:48theresa: Yeah.
- 19:48theresa: I don't have to go back to the recordings constantly.
- 19:52theresa: Wow.
- 19:52theresa: That's, that Bible verse idea though, that's just incredible, so thank you for sharing that one.
- 19:57theresa: Yeah.
- 19:58theresa: Yeah.
- 19:58theresa: But that's just what we're saying, guys, is it can help you.
- 20:00theresa: It, you can train it and can I give you a story?
- 20:03theresa: You'll like this.
- 20:04theresa: Please.
- 20:04theresa: This was about three years ago.
- 20:06theresa: I was just kind of getting started with AI.
- 20:08theresa: Uh, I kind of...
- 20:10theresa: No, I think I'd been using it for a while.
- 20:12theresa: But anyway, one day I was just, you know, trying to find a slogan for myself or something, and I, it came up with voice revivalist.
- 20:19theresa: And I thought,"Hmm, that sounds okay." Hmm.
- 20:21theresa: Wrote it down, went back to what I was doing at that time.
- 20:25theresa: And then after 18 years, the radio that I worked for hired me back.
- 20:30theresa: Wow.
- 20:31theresa: I walked through the door.
- 20:33theresa: Their new slo- they rebranded and it's Victory 91.5, The Sound of Revival.
- 20:39theresa: I'm like,"Wait, hold on." Ooh.
- 20:41theresa: "God told me I'm voice revivalist." And you know, coming back, that's not my main thing.
- 20:45theresa: I, I'm blessed to come back part-time and get paid to talk.
- 20:49theresa: But God was saying something,'cause see, I was just coming...
- 20:52theresa: Three years ago my husband had only been dead one year.
- 20:54theresa: I was just starting with some really good mentoring.
- 20:58theresa: I'm not gonna say counseling.
- 21:02theresa: I had trained my AI enough that that was three, almost three and a half years ago.
- 21:07theresa: But even just a little bit, could we trust God-
- 21:12Shay: Yeah
- 21:13theresa: to, as in to trust God, not take it for everything.
- 21:16theresa: 'Cause I has been, I was a, I'm a big journaler, and I had thrown some journal stuff in there, but not much.
- 21:21theresa: Yeah.
- 21:22theresa: Is that a fun story?
- 21:24Shay: Yes.
- 21:24Shay: I love that.
- 21:25Shay: In fact, I got chills when you said it.
- 21:27theresa: Oh.
- 21:27Shay: It, it just shows how, you know, God is good all the time.
- 21:32Shay: Amen.
- 21:32Shay: You, the, the idea might have came from AI, but he was showing you you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
- 21:38theresa: I love it.
- 21:39theresa: And granted, I'm, for decades, my first thing is in the word, Jesus and coffee.
- 21:44theresa: Even in the midst of the abuse and the narcissist, Jesus and coffee.
- 21:49theresa: Yeah.
- 21:49theresa: Yeah.
- 21:49theresa: I couldn't live my life without Jesus and coffee.
- 21:52theresa: So I'd like to think when I do prompt it that I am thinking about, I'm asking the Holy Spirit.
- 21:57theresa: Of course.
- 21:58theresa: And I think that might be the difference between people really afraid of it.
- 22:02theresa: They have the Holy Spirit.
- 22:03theresa: Mm-hmm.
- 22:03theresa: Could they discern?
- 22:05theresa: Yes.
- 22:06Shay: Discernment,
- 22:06theresa: huge.
- 22:07theresa: Discern.
- 22:07theresa: Discern.
- 22:07theresa: Like, h- you know, sometimes I'll get it back, and I'm like,"No, it doesn't sound like me at all," you know, and I'd slap it around.
- 22:13theresa: But dis- but d- that's discernment.
- 22:15theresa: I'm not trying to get a quick email out or a quick post out.
- 22:19theresa: I want it be me.
- 22:21Shay: Yes, and I love that you said that you go back and you, um, fix it, correct it.
- 22:26Shay: You s- use the word correct.
- 22:27theresa: Correct.
- 22:28Shay: I had a client that was- It's a better word like telling me after our, our session, she's like,"Oh my God, uh, since I've talked to you I have, I have argued with Claude for days." And I, and I laughed, but then I realized later, I was like, okay, we are not arguing with AI.
- 22:44theresa: No.
- 22:44Shay: We're editing AI.
- 22:46theresa: Thank
- 22:47Shay: you.
- 22:47theresa: Yeah, that's a better word.
- 22:47Shay: And so the next time I'm like,"You know, I really wanna point something out." I said,"I get that it's fun, and I get that we were, you know, having fun with it as we were-" Yeah talking, and you were talking about how you were arguing with it.
- 23:00theresa: Yeah.
- 23:01Shay: But I want you to remember, like you said in the very beginning, Theresa, it's a tool.
- 23:06Shay: Yeah.
- 23:06Shay: Just like your pen and paper.
- 23:07theresa: Right.
- 23:08Shay: It is not a person.
- 23:09theresa: Right.
- 23:09Shay: You don't argue with a tool.
- 23:11theresa: Right.
- 23:11Shay: You tell it-
- 23:12theresa: Mm
- 23:12Shay: what to do.
- 23:14theresa: So good.
- 23:15theresa: So good.
- 23:15theresa: You know, I, I taught my best friends it more in the last year or two, and they're just like, well, especially one of them,"This is unbelievable." And they know how to use it as a tool.
- 23:26theresa: Yeah.
- 23:26theresa: So, you know, we're, we're excited about AI.
- 23:29theresa: If you're listening and you're thinking,"Why are they so excited?" Train it.
- 23:33theresa: Contact Shay.
- 23:35theresa: Learn how to use it.
- 23:37theresa: Yeah.
- 23:37theresa: And watch it become really the visibility pathway that everyone's been searching for.
- 23:42theresa: How can I be more visible?
- 23:44theresa: You need to be more real, so.
- 23:45theresa: Yeah.
- 23:46theresa: Oh, I love...
- 23:47theresa: So what, what do...
- 23:49theresa: Do you get those kind of remarks, like after they start training it?
- 23:53theresa: Are, are you seeing people like,"Whoa-"
- 23:55Shay: Oh, yeah I'm
- 23:56theresa: alive"?
- 23:57Shay: Almost every time.
- 23:58Shay: Almost every coaching session that I have, they're having aha moments.
- 24:01Shay: I love that.
- 24:01Shay: Like,"Oh my God." Like,"This did what?
- 24:02Shay: Oh my God." So like yesterday, was it yesterday or...
- 24:05Shay: It doesn't matter.
- 24:06Shay: Like this week.
- 24:07Shay: Yeah.
- 24:07Shay: Um, I had somebody, we were making, I'm trying to remember what we were making.
- 24:12Shay: Um, oh, I think we were taking everything that she had built in her coaching.
- 24:18theresa: Okay.
- 24:18Shay: Like she had decided to become a coach, and she was like,"Well, I've played around with this, this program." Um, and I, and when I started working with her, um, she's like,"Well, I have this program." I'm like,"Okay, great, so do you have like it into 12 sessions?" And she's like,"No."
- 24:34theresa: Oh.
- 24:34Shay: And I,"Okay, so what do you mean you have this program?" And she's like,"Well, I kind of have a framework of what I'm doing, but I don't really have it in a 12 session." What she had, it was 10 connected ideas.
- 24:44theresa: Yeah.
- 24:46Shay: And so we literally put it all into, into a project.
- 24:50theresa: Great.
- 24:50Shay: And as we kept working with this project, we have everything from the, everything from the ac- her actual script-
- 24:59theresa: Yeah
- 25:00Shay: for a 12 session program.
- 25:03Shay: Okay.
- 25:03Shay: 12 coaching program.
- 25:04Shay: She has her, um, emails to send out.
- 25:08Shay: Nice.
- 25:08Shay: Not just emails like,"Hey, how are you?" We have it set out to what the DM should be on- Mm-hmm her, um, warm leads on LinkedIn.
- 25:17Shay: We have, um, a catalog on what to follow up on.
- 25:21Shay: Yes.
- 25:21Shay: What her up sale is looking like after the 12 sessions, what's next with her.
- 25:25Shay: Oh, so good.
- 25:26Shay: You know, all of these d- we, oh, we put a, um...
- 25:28Shay: That's what it was.
- 25:29Shay: We put a questionnaire together- Okay and connected it to Google.
- 25:33Shay: Yes.
- 25:33Shay: So it literally connect- it made it into Google Form.
- 25:36Shay: Oh.
- 25:36Shay: All we did was tell it what to do.
- 25:38theresa: Oh.
- 25:38Shay: And it then created it into Google Form, and she's like,"Oh my God." Like, literally, and not only did it connect it to Google Forms, it then connected it to, um, Google, not Google Drive.
- 25:49Shay: Well, Google Drive, but the, what is the spreadsheet in there?
- 25:51Shay: Google Sheets.
- 25:52Shay: Docu-
- 25:52theresa: oh, Sheets or Docs.
- 25:53theresa: Okay.
- 25:54Shay: Sheets.
- 25:54Shay: Yeah.
- 25:55Shay: And it takes all the information from her responses from the, the survey into, in, in, uh, the forms, and puts it into a spreadsheet.
- 26:04theresa: Oh.
- 26:04Shay: Automatically.
- 26:05theresa: So good.
- 26:07theresa: Was that Claude?
- 26:07theresa: Was that Claude or ChatGPT?
- 26:08theresa: That,
- 26:08Shay: no, that was Chat.
- 26:09Shay: That was Chat.
- 26:09theresa: Yeah.
- 26:10theresa: ChatGPT.
- 26:10theresa: Chatty
- 26:10Shay: Cathy.
- 26:11theresa: Oh, wow.
- 26:11theresa: Yeah.
- 26:12theresa: Chatty Cathy, you got me.
- 26:12theresa: That's cool.
- 26:13theresa: Chatty Cathy.
- 26:13theresa: You got a GPT.
- 26:15theresa: I had a GPT called In the Vine.
- 26:17theresa: This is early- Mm when I was on the radio, and I would just stuff it with things that God was saying about, you know, in my journal and stuff, and then it came to the radio.
- 26:26theresa: Okay, if anyone's listening, I hope they don't listen to my radio.
- 26:29theresa: So this is what we got.
- 26:31theresa: Three times we talk in the hour, and we pray at the top of the hour, and I'm, and it was really a laborous, uh, time.
- 26:38theresa: So I thought, uh, uh, I stuffed my Claude, Victory 91.5, stuffed it, and then I had developed templates.
- 26:47theresa: Okay, this is the overnight template.
- 26:49theresa: This is the weekday.
- 26:50theresa: All I got to say is,"Template, 12 to..." And foom, it shoots down.
- 26:55theresa: I, I'm just saying from a personal a- aspect, I'm like their, your client.
- 27:00theresa: So th- Yeah let me talk about something that's hard to talk about.
- 27:04theresa: Yeah.
- 27:04theresa: 'Cause I don't understand it, and, uh, my negative son, I love my son.
- 27:07theresa: My s- 24-year-old son is always cautioning me, and my daughter.
- 27:12theresa: W- do you ever get this?
- 27:13theresa: "Oh, we're gonna run out of water.
- 27:15theresa: All the stuff it takes to build AI." Now, I want to have a good...
- 27:19theresa: I don't want to make fun of that, but what do you, do you hear that in the AI world?
- 27:25Shay: So it's interesting, because people have assumed that we've never had data centers before.
- 27:30theresa: Data centers, yep.
- 27:32theresa: They assume that, and, uh, yeah, that's good.
- 27:34Shay: They're just like,"Oh, we're building all these data centers." Well, we've had them before.
- 27:37Shay: We've
- 27:37theresa: had
- 27:37Shay: them.
- 27:37Shay: And you just didn't know it.
- 27:39theresa: Good.
- 27:39Shay: You didn't...
- 27:40Shay: Because they were ominous buildings- Hm that had no windows.
- 27:44theresa: Wow.
- 27:45theresa: Right.
- 27:45Shay: You had no idea.
- 27:46Shay: So way back- Yeah when, I believe it was Southwestern Bell telephones-
- 27:53theresa: Okay
- 27:53Shay: and AT&T telephones, like actual plug-in-the-wall telephones.
- 27:57theresa: Yeah.
- 27:58Shay: They had data centers everywhere.
- 28:00theresa: They had data centers, yeah.
- 28:01Shay: They weren't as big-
- 28:02theresa: Right
- 28:03Shay: but they had data centers.
- 28:05theresa: Right.
- 28:05Shay: Now, am I worried about the water?
- 28:07Shay: I mean, in some regard I am, and in some regard I'm not.
- 28:13Shay: Because we're speculating.
- 28:16theresa: Right.
- 28:16Shay: That- that's it.
- 28:17Shay: We have no- Yeah actual n- data-
- 28:20theresa: Okay
- 28:21Shay: to know that this is what could happen.
- 28:24theresa: Yeah.
- 28:25Shay: What we have is a speculation and an idea.
- 28:29theresa: Okay.
- 28:29Shay: Now, here's the thing.
- 28:31Shay: If it takes water to cool it down-
- 28:34theresa: Uh-huh
- 28:34Shay: can't...
- 28:35Shay: Maybe it's we need to ask AI to come up with a better solution.
- 28:40theresa: Yeah.
- 28:42Shay: Right?
- 28:42Shay: Yes.
- 28:42Shay: To cool it down.
- 28:43Shay: To cool it, yeah.
- 28:43Shay: We have tons of wind in the world.
- 28:45theresa: Yeah.
- 28:46theresa: Wow.
- 28:46Shay: But there, that's just it, is that we're looking at this from the perspective of hearsay.
- 28:51theresa: Yeah.
- 28:53theresa: Well-
- 28:53Shay: Is it possible?
- 28:54Shay: It could be.
- 28:55Shay: Yeah.
- 28:55Shay: Is it, is it going to ruin us?
- 28:58Shay: I mean, to be honest, probably not, because- Yeah we have all of this AI.
- 29:03Shay: Yeah.
- 29:04Shay: Once we get it to a point, we can start plugging in the data, and then saying,"Rework this."
- 29:09theresa: Yeah.
- 29:09theresa: That's
- 29:10Shay: good.
- 29:10Shay: How else can we do this?
- 29:11theresa: Yeah.
- 29:11theresa: That's good.
- 29:12Shay: And I mean, I have friends who work with, with, um, you know, government agencies.
- 29:18Shay: Yeah.
- 29:18Shay: Okay?
- 29:19Shay: So, and he was telling...
- 29:20Shay: And I was talk- uh, funny story, I was talking to him about it recently, and he was like,"You know, the thing is, is that there's always been data centers." I go,"That's what I said." Yeah.
- 29:30Shay: And he's like,"But the thing is, is that we're being told-" what they assume is- Mm-hmm going to happen.
- 29:39theresa: Yeah.
- 29:39Shay: Now, I hear, and again, it's just hearing, people are saying,"Well, now that that data center went up, I don't have any water.
- 29:46Shay: I don't have water pressure." And it's like, could they be related?
- 29:50Shay: Sure.
- 29:51Shay: Yeah.
- 29:51Shay: But at some, give it time, because at some point there's going to be the other way.
- 29:55Shay: Yeah.
- 29:55Shay: Remember in, um, and I'm aging myself here, in the'90s when the internet c- first came out, right?
- 30:01Shay: Oh.
- 30:01Shay: It was like everybody in the world decided they needed to buy domain names, right?
- 30:07Shay: Yeah.
- 30:07Shay: And then that was the, the hot ticket.
- 30:10Shay: Oh, my
- 30:10theresa: gosh.
- 30:10Shay: Right?
- 30:11Shay: Mm.
- 30:11Shay: And then we had, uh, just a few years ago, the NFTs, where it was- Yeah the digital cartoon, or the
- 30:17theresa: digital art.
- 30:17theresa: I was sucked into that.
- 30:19Shay: Right.
- 30:20Shay: I mean, it's just a matter of time that this is- Yeah going to...
- 30:24theresa: Yeah.
- 30:24Shay: It's right now a big explosion, but it's gonna calm down-
- 30:28theresa: Yeah
- 30:28Shay: too.
- 30:29Shay: So it's not as, as, um, fear-mongering- Yeah I guess that's what I feel like it is, that the media is putting out there.
- 30:37theresa: Oh, yeah.
- 30:37theresa: No doubt.
- 30:39theresa: You know, and, and those people getting paid$1,200 to put a data thing on their roof, they're not complaining about it.
- 30:47Shay: Right.
- 30:47theresa: Okay, okay.
- 30:48theresa: W- do you, uh, when it comes to your podcast, you have an amazing podcast.
- 30:51theresa: You're, you're an amazing speaker, all these things, but I, I love podcasting.
- 30:55theresa: So does AI help you a little bit in podcasting?
- 30:58theresa: I'm just curious.
- 30:59Shay: Yeah, actually.
- 31:00Shay: So, um, one of the tools I use is, um, Descript to- Ah edit.
- 31:06Shay: Me too.
- 31:06Shay: Yes.
- 31:06theresa: Yeah.
- 31:07theresa: Yes.
- 31:07theresa: That's a gift from God, Descript is.
- 31:09theresa: It
- 31:09Shay: is.
- 31:10Shay: Yes.
- 31:10Shay: And now I have actually- Yeah just, I've put, um...
- 31:14Shay: I've created my own- mm, project, I guess you'd call it Nice kind of a clone, kind of a DNA, um, inside my p- my podcast project.
- 31:22theresa: Okay.
- 31:23Shay: And I have it set up with skills.
- 31:26theresa: Yes, that's good.
- 31:27theresa: I need
- 31:27Shay: to do that.
- 31:27Shay: Okay.
- 31:27Shay: So I have it repeat different, I have repeatable skills that are in there, but I can literally have it listen through the tr- or s- go through the transcript- Okay and pick out the things that I need to go put back into Descript to make the reel for me.
- 31:41Shay: Oh, sure.
- 31:41Shay: To make the social media for me.
- 31:43theresa: Yeah.
- 31:43Shay: Right?
- 31:44Shay: So even though I use Descript to sometimes do it, I will then compare it to, um, Chatty Cathy- Yeah and have it do it, and then go,"Okay, which one do I think is better?"
- 31:54theresa: Yeah.
- 31:55theresa: You know, um, I started, I didn't want to, but I w- I was d- the- the- the sc- the reels in Descript to me were I have to save them to my computer.
- 32:05theresa: So I went back to Opus just f- Yeah'cause I'm doing these interviews, and I want to give them clips, and I don't have to...
- 32:12theresa: you know.
- 32:13theresa: Um, but d- I- I can't, I just can't.
- 32:16theresa: Descript has just been like a game changer.
- 32:18theresa: 'Cause see, I come from the age where I was using, uh, Audacity and all these- Me too um, we- Me too and, and, and it would take me a long, quite a while to do a- A long
- 32:30Shay: time
- 32:30theresa: podcast.
- 32:31theresa: And I loved it so much, I continued.
- 32:33theresa: But, uh, Descript is just a game changer.
- 32:37theresa: And, and I do ha- I have an outline of a podcast episode, and I always say,"Leave room for my story.
- 32:44theresa: Leave room for my example." And then I can look through it and like,"Does that sound like me?
- 32:49theresa: Yeah, it does." I gotta ask you this, uh, we were just having a talk.
- 32:53theresa: Uh, once in a, I love to look in the camera, and, and Descript- Uh-huh has this Eye Fixer, and I just, my friend, she always knows when it's on.
- 33:01theresa: I'm like,"My kids don't know." But I, I just like how can I do this and not use it?
- 33:07theresa: 'Cause in ways it kind of opens your eyes.
- 33:09theresa: Have you, do you, have you ever used it, or you got glasses you can hide behind it?
- 33:12theresa: Have you ever used that feature?
- 33:13theresa: I u-
- 33:13Shay: I look in the camera all the time, so I never, yeah, I've never used it.
- 33:16theresa: Well, I'm like, I, I have times when I have notes, and I look down, and I guess I d- I'm a perfectionist.
- 33:22theresa: I don't want to look down, so there's just some things in it.
- 33:24theresa: And then I'm a, have a radio voice, so I'll ask it,"Give me my radio voice,"'cause come on.
- 33:29theresa: When I'm at work, I have this awesome, you know, I sound different.
- 33:34theresa: I sound more deep.
- 33:35theresa: I'm kind of high-squilled when I get excited.
- 33:37theresa: So anyway, I appreciate talking.
- 33:39theresa: If you want to know Descript, obviously probably Cathy can teach you.
- 33:43theresa: Chatty Cathy.
- 33:44theresa: Come get it.
- 33:44theresa: She sounds like she's got her best GPT that would work for you too.
- 33:48theresa: Come on.
- 33:48theresa: Yeah.
- 33:48theresa: Just say GPT.
- 33:49theresa: Let's just, you'll figure it out.
- 33:51theresa: Don't, don't feel like you're behind, and don't isolate yourself.
- 33:54theresa: Okay.
- 33:55theresa: So
- 33:55Shay: let's- Well, and I was gonna say too about the looking down, so I actually, um, spoke to, um, public television to have, um, my podcast moved to public television.
- 34:05Shay: Nice.
- 34:05Shay: And they were like,"Yeah, you look in the camera a lot." And I'm like,"I mean, that's what we do.
- 34:09Shay: We're podcasters." And on public telev- on TV, you don't look at the camera at all.
- 34:14Shay: So when I- Oh.
- 34:16Shay: You rem- right?
- 34:17Shay: They don't They look at their guest, and then they have different camera angles looking at from different perspectives, but it's never, typically it's never directly in the camera.
- 34:27Shay: But podcasters are used to looking in the camera.
- 34:29theresa: Yes.
- 34:29Shay: So I realize that he...
- 34:31Shay: Well, the funny thing is, is that it doesn't matter-
- 34:34theresa: Wow
- 34:35Shay: if you look in the camera or you look down.
- 34:37Shay: Yeah.
- 34:37Shay: We're human.
- 34:38Shay: Thank you.
- 34:38Shay: It goes back to being human.
- 34:39Shay: Yeah.
- 34:39theresa: Yeah.
- 34:40theresa: 'Cause I can't memorize my-
- 34:42Shay: Right
- 34:43theresa: I can't memor- I can memorize my opening, but, like, even as I opened here, I was glancing down, even though I've said it quite a few times, so thank you.
- 34:50theresa: That frees me up, because I really don't like that eye thing.
- 34:53theresa: It just keeps me-
- 34:54Shay: Yeah, and by the way, I created a, a teleprompter in Claude.
- 34:59theresa: Oh, come on.
- 35:00theresa: Yeah.
- 35:00theresa: I've been wondering if I should use a teleprompter,'cause, uh, I can pretty much...
- 35:04theresa: Huh, you created it.
- 35:06Shay: In Pro- in Claude, yeah.
- 35:08theresa: Ooh, I might have to ask Claude.
- 35:10theresa: Yeah.
- 35:10theresa: No, that's so cool.
- 35:12Shay: Yes.
- 35:12theresa: Oh my gosh, Shay.
- 35:13theresa: I ga-
- 35:13Shay: I'll send it to you.
- 35:14Shay: I'll send
- 35:15theresa: you the prompt.
- 35:15theresa: Oh, man.
- 35:15theresa: Oh, you're so good.
- 35:17theresa: Oh, man.
- 35:18theresa: It's really fun to talk, um, AI and, and to really realize...
- 35:24theresa: I, I mean, I've helped a few clients, but, uh, I have to get them off the ledge of fear before I can help them.
- 35:30theresa: But I have such a passion for it.
- 35:32theresa: I think it's a tool that, I think it's a tool that God said,"Hey, it's a tool.
- 35:37theresa: Use it." Like, God, like, this is what ChatGPT keep...
- 35:40theresa: Or no, it's Claude keeps saying me, to me, and I so believe it.
- 35:44theresa: You're the scribe.
- 35:46theresa: AI is a tool.
- 35:47theresa: Yeah.
- 35:47theresa: The anointing's in you.
- 35:48theresa: ChatGPT is not anointed.
- 35:50theresa: But if, can you take your anointing and ask God to help you take that anointing into something where This is my thing, where you can spend more time with your family.
- 35:59theresa: Don't lose yourself.
- 36:00theresa: Where you can be with your babies, but you're not taking as much time here.
- 36:05theresa: I mean, just the fact that a podcast doesn't take as much time.
- 36:08theresa: Right.
- 36:08theresa: That's a gift.
- 36:10Shay: Yep.
- 36:10theresa: Wow.
- 36:11theresa: All right.
- 36:11Shay: And that's really what it's for, in my opinion.
- 36:13Shay: I mean-
- 36:14theresa: Yeah
- 36:14Shay: I mean, that, that's really what we, we coach on, is that it's saving you time.
- 36:18theresa: Yeah.
- 36:19Shay: I get in the beginning you're so excited and you want to work with it and it's so fun, but it's saving you time in the end.
- 36:25theresa: Yeah.
- 36:25theresa: It really is.
- 36:26theresa: Yeah.
- 36:26theresa: And at my age, any time I can save is wonderful.
- 36:30theresa: All right.
- 36:30theresa: So you have a mastermind.
- 36:33theresa: Why don't you talk about that, what you offer?
- 36:36Shay: Yeah.
- 36:38Shay: So I, um, uh, had heard of the term mastermind before, and I was like,"I want to start something like that." Well, I finally got frustrated with going to all the networking events that, that they have around in the world, and walking away with a stack of business cards and going- Yeah"Okay, now what?" After getting pitch slapped, right?
- 36:56theresa: Yeah.
- 36:56theresa: Yeah.
- 36:57Shay: And it's like, but nobody would actually help me, or nobody would actually have a cup of coffee with me just to like-
- 37:01theresa: Wow
- 37:02Shay: talk shop, like what we're doing.
- 37:04Shay: Yeah.
- 37:04Shay: And I'm like, you know what?
- 37:05Shay: I need to do something better.
- 37:07Shay: I don't know what that looks like.
- 37:08Shay: And I feel like God gave that to me a long time ago.
- 37:11Shay: Wow.
- 37:11Shay: 14 years ago.
- 37:12theresa: Yeah.
- 37:13Shay: And so I sat with it, and then, um Gosh, it's been 16 now.
- 37:16Shay: It was 2010.
- 37:18Shay: And I just sat with it.
- 37:18Shay: And so then two years ago, it just hit me out of the blue.
- 37:21Shay: I'm like, wait, what I'm What God gave me was a mastermind.
- 37:25theresa: Ooh.
- 37:25Shay: And so I really decided to hand select.
- 37:29Shay: Nice.
- 37:29Shay: So I work with purpose driven entrepreneurs and creators.
- 37:33theresa: Right.
- 37:34Shay: And we meet once a week over Zoom, and we are always talking about mindset.
- 37:39Shay: We're praying for each other.
- 37:41Shay: Oh, that's good.
- 37:41Shay: We're holding each other accountable.
- 37:43Shay: Yeah.
- 37:43Shay: Where somebody's in the hot seat, where they're bringing their, their issue and we're all giving, um- So good advi- It's an advisory board.
- 37:49theresa: Yeah.
- 37:50Shay: And it is so important.
- 37:52Shay: Mm.
- 37:52Shay: And so, um, yeah, I would love to invite you and any of your audience.
- 37:56theresa: Yeah,
- 37:56Shay: that's great.
- 37:56Shay: We meet, um, complimentary on the last Thursday of every month at 3:00 PM Eastern.
- 38:02theresa: You're saying complimentary?
- 38:04Shay: Yep, complimentary.
- 38:05Shay: The last, the S- the last Thursday- Last Thursday of every month.
- 38:08Shay: Yes, I would love to have you join us.
- 38:10theresa: Yeah.
- 38:10theresa: You have to send me an invite.
- 38:12theresa: That, or let me know.
- 38:13theresa: I will.
- 38:13theresa: Let me find you,'cause that I mean, this We're talking shop.
- 38:16theresa: Probably I don't do this on all my interviews, but I hope it's okay,'cause it's just like- Of
- 38:20Shay: course.
- 38:21theresa: So, um- What do you have to offer where it, the money goes into your bank?
- 38:28theresa: How about that?
- 38:29Shay: Yeah.
- 38:29Shay: Is it the Mastermind?
- 38:30Shay: So it is a paid subscription.
- 38:31Shay: It is a paid membership.
- 38:32theresa: Okay, good.
- 38:33Shay: And, um, but we, it's a weekly event, and then you have access to myself and my co-founder- Oh, good who is also my podcast producer.
- 38:41Shay: Nice.
- 38:41Shay: He owns a media company, and he is- That's cool and he's a veteran.
- 38:45theresa: Oh.
- 38:46Shay: Um, and so we do have a lot of veterans in the world.
- 38:48Shay: Nice.
- 38:48Shay: But I also, uh, so there's that.
- 38:50Shay: It's called the Makers Machine, because it's the maker.
- 38:53theresa: Mm-hmm.
- 38:54Shay: And, um, it's the, an inner, an inner circle.
- 38:56Shay: Okay.
- 38:56Shay: And we work together, so that's why we're a machine.
- 38:59theresa: And- And what's your podcast name?
- 39:01theresa: Just your, your name?
- 39:03Shay: Yep, it's the Shay Sparks Show.
- 39:05theresa: Awesome.
- 39:05theresa: Okay.
- 39:06theresa: Yeah.
- 39:06theresa: I'll have to check
- 39:06Shay: that out.
- 39:07Shay: And I, yeah, I interview business and military leaders on what- Oh it means to invest in people.
- 39:12theresa: So good.
- 39:13theresa: Oh, my goodness.
- 39:14theresa: Thank you.
- 39:14theresa: This is so sweet.
- 39:15theresa: Wow.
- 39:15Shay: Thank you.
- 39:16Shay: Ooh.
- 39:16Shay: And then of course I work with c- you know, coaching.
- 39:18Shay: I work one-on-one with- That's good business owners that are really- Yeah like,"I want to know about, more about this AI and how to use it."
- 39:23theresa: And they want a little more.
- 39:25theresa: So do you have, are you in the process of writing a book, or you wrote a book?
- 39:29Shay: I have one book out.
- 39:30Shay: Okay.
- 39:30Shay: Well, I have a couple of books out, but I have one book out that's called How to Get Your Voice Back, and talk about journaling, it's a journal prompt.
- 39:35theresa: Oh.
- 39:36theresa: Oh, my goodness.
- 39:36theresa: And,
- 39:36Shay: um- How to Get Your Voice Back if you sent me your address, Theresa, I would have sent it to you- I didn't see that because I have an extra copy.
- 39:40theresa: Man,
- 39:40Shay: I
- 39:41theresa: missed that.
- 39:42Shay: Yep.
- 39:43Shay: I missed it for someone's room.
- 39:43Shay: That was my first book.
- 39:44Shay: That's when I saw what you're talking about.
- 39:46Shay: I'm like,"Clearly we're kindred spirits." Yeah.
- 39:48Shay: "We gotta meet."
- 39:49theresa: Oh, that's a great title.
- 39:51theresa: I, I had to, I had a, um, devotional- Mm-hmm and it was the secret or something to your voice, but what it was is it was a devotional.
- 39:59theresa: That's how I survived my marriage.
- 40:01theresa: God would just swoop down at me,"Listen to the Vinedresser." So I had to take it down, because I was faking a great wife, that I had a great husband.
- 40:09theresa: No faking in Theresa's world.
- 40:11theresa: So I'm in the process of rewriting it, but- You see if someone has a book o- and I'm interviewing them, I go find it and read the intro, so I missed that one, so, mm.
- 40:20theresa: It's
- 40:20Shay: all
- 40:21theresa: good.
- 40:21theresa: I'm glad this is recorded.
- 40:22theresa: All right, girl, I'm, I'm kinda a little kiddish'cause I'm so excited, all the things we talked about.
- 40:28theresa: Yeah.
- 40:28theresa: So a roundup, what's the best way for them to get to you?
- 40:32Shay: Yeah, you can find me at Shay Sparks, that's S-H-A-S-P-A-R-K-S.com.
- 40:37theresa: Okay.
- 40:38Shay: And you can message me there.
- 40:39Shay: You can set up an appointment there.
- 40:40Shay: Yes.
- 40:40Shay: And we can go from there, or you can go to all my social media is on there as well.
- 40:44Shay: Awesome.
- 40:45Shay: And buy my book on there, yeah.
- 40:46theresa: Oh, and your book's on there, that's awesome.
- 40:48Shay: Yeah.
- 40:48theresa: Well, I can't thank you enough for being a part of this.
- 40:51theresa: Uh, you just really lit up my world, just to talk- Yeah to someone who can understand AI and Chatty Cathy, you know?
- 40:59theresa: That's just awesome.
- 41:00theresa: All right, so this is today's Calling Table with Shay Sparks.
- 41:04theresa: Now, listen, if her story moved you, do two things.

- 41:11theresa: Follow her on Facebook, and share this episode with a woman who came to mind while you were listening.
- 41:18theresa: Some stories are not for scrolling past.
- 41:21theresa: This is definitely one.
- 41:23theresa: I'm Theresa Croft.
- 41:24theresa: I'll talk to you in the next Stuck No More Voices podcast
