- 0:29Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, so I want to ask you a question.
- 0:34How much do you think you're sacrificing yourself every day
- 0:38for your job? Your family, your, you know,
- 0:43your whatever it might be in your world?
- 0:45How much do you think you're sacrificing yourself and is that
- 0:50a bad thing? The question came up with a
- 0:53client recently about how her belief is that she's constantly
- 0:57sacrificing herself for her. Husband and her children and her
- 1:03boss and she never ever takes care of herself and my
- 1:09perspective was to ask her. The question, what's the reason
- 1:13that you do that? What's the reason that you
- 1:16believe you're sacrificing yourself, not just the fact that
- 1:20she is doing it. But what's the reason she
- 1:22believes? She is doing that because
- 1:24there's a big difference. Is she actually doing that?
- 1:27Or does she just believe she's doing that?
- 1:29And how are you? You know, when you're
- 1:31sacrificing yourself how do you know when you're not sacrificing
- 1:35yourself? Well, it all comes back to our
- 1:36guiding principles of emotions, right?
- 1:38What our emotions are teaching us information.
- 1:41They are giving us is to help us guide us and to move us closer,
- 1:45or further away from the actions we're doing in order to get the
- 1:48outcomes that we eventually want be and most of the time.
- 1:52So to ask you the question, do you think you're sacrificing
- 1:57yourself and if so what does that mean?
- 2:00Is that something that makes you happy?
- 2:02Because again it's all about perspective on it.
- 2:06So if I sacrifice some of my personal time to spend with my
- 2:10child, is that something that I have to feel resentful about?
- 2:16Well only, if I feel like I'm sacrificing it and it's causing
- 2:19me pain, then I have to go to a place of saying, well, you know
- 2:24what? I don't feel good about this.
- 2:27But if I do it and I say, I sacrifice this time with Him but
- 2:31I absolutely love and enjoy it and I'm grateful for the fact
- 2:34that I get to do that because I know I won't have him forever.
- 2:38He's 13 and I know he's going to eventually have a girlfriend and
- 2:43a wife, and a life and move on. So I don't look at the time that
- 2:49I spend with him. Now, as something that's taking
- 2:53away from me and what I'm doing. Because I appreciate the fact
- 2:57that I have this guide Force inside of me that says, I can
- 3:04spend time doing things, physically and gain gratitude
- 3:10for it emotionally as to be outcomes.
- 3:14I don't look at working with my clients, the number of hours
- 3:17that I work with my clients. It's a sacrifice from my
- 3:21personal time or my family. I look at it like it's a
- 3:23blessing that one I get to help people.
- 3:26And to that I have the ability to see See it as a gift.
- 3:32And ingratitude, route back to the question and so you can
- 3:37understand where I'm coming from.
- 3:40If you feel like something is constant sacrifice, then you
- 3:43feel like you're being ripped off.
- 3:46If you feel like you're being ripped off, then you can never
- 3:49get past the fact that you're starting out from a depleted
- 3:54level. And if you're starting off
- 3:56something in depletion, it just feels like crap.
- 4:01Every time you start that down that road.
- 4:03So if you walk into work everyday and you are saying to
- 4:06yourself, you know, I feel like I sacrifice myself coming here
- 4:09every day, and I feel like this and I feel like that even though
- 4:12they're paying you right there, they've agreed to give you money
- 4:15and your Trading. Time for money.
- 4:17So you entered into this agreement, whatever money you're
- 4:20getting, whether it's a salary or hourly, you have agreed to
- 4:23trade time for money. So are you really sacrificing
- 4:26yourself because you agreed to it?
- 4:29And it's a great simple thing to just start there because that's
- 4:32where the beginning of it all started, they offered you
- 4:34something. You accepted it and you're doing
- 4:36it. Point one point two is you're
- 4:41making an emotional connection and attachment to it.
- 4:44If you're being in the state of I'm sacrificing myself for this
- 4:48job, I hate this job. I feel like I come here every
- 4:51day and a little piece of me dies, I understand that the job
- 4:55might suck and it might not be what they told you but you still
- 5:00have the ability to change that. Nobody else can change it for
- 5:03you. You can decide.
- 5:04I want to go somewhere else. I want to do something else and
- 5:07maybe, Maybe that's the lesson in this.
- 5:10Maybe that's what you're supposed to be doing.
- 5:11Maybe you're supposed to be figuring out something else for
- 5:13yourself. And the pain is the here to
- 5:16teach you something. And it's not just about you
- 5:19sacrificing yourself. It's about you learning that
- 5:22you've got to go beyond it but nobody can answer those
- 5:25questions. But you the point of this
- 5:28conversation is if you believe that you're sacrificing
- 5:31yourself, any everyday. Are there moments where we all
- 5:35have to like give a little bit of ourselves and we Say, oh, you
- 5:38know, that sure those happen. But if your predominant state is
- 5:42that of sacrificing yourself, it's not about the thing or the
- 5:47person or anything else, it's about you and your perspective,
- 5:51and you taking responsibility and changing your own mindset
- 5:55and your own situation because nobody can else can do either
- 5:57for you. Nobody else can make you get a
- 5:59different job. Nobody else can change your
- 6:01mind. It's all an internal job and if
- 6:03you're starting from sacrifice, you're already starting in a
- 6:06place of depletion. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 6:09go and look and say, you know, my really sacrificing myself
- 6:12every day or is this just an agreement.
- 6:15I've entered into and I've become complacent about it now.
- 6:17I'm angry about it and now I'm just I got to get out of it.
- 6:20That might be more accurate than you're sacrificing yourself
- 6:23every day and when you get clear on it, then you can change it.
- 6:28Otherwise, you'll just be angry and you'll do nothing.
- 6:31So hopefully you guys will be able to take some wisdom from
- 6:35this and go out and shift, any situations that are not working
- 6:38for you, any longer and move forward.
- 6:41I hope you guys have a very blessed day and I will see you
- 6:44tomorrow.
