- 0:36All right, welcome, good to see you familiar faces.
- 0:40I just, I can tell their new face but I'm like to see by a
- 0:44show of hands. Who's here for the first time.
- 0:47Wow, that's incredible. We just show up to Jesus.
- 0:57I hope you got here. Safely, I hold very dry.
- 1:00You have energy, squishing heart.
- 1:02If you don't know me, my name is Daniel.
- 1:04I have the privilege and honor to speak the word of God this
- 1:08weekend, and I'm looking forward to it.
- 1:11I really am. I'm not going to preach a sermon
- 1:13tonight, but I do want to exhort Us in the word of God.
- 1:16And so, if you do have a Bible in your hands, I encourage you
- 1:19to turn with me to the Book of Romans in chapter 15 just for a
- 1:23couple of verses that will hopefully help us be prepared
- 1:26for what What God has in store this weekend, Romans 15.
- 1:31Let's begin in verse 30. Romans 15:30, Paul says, through
- 1:45the Roman Christians of this time, I appeal to you Brothers
- 1:49by our Lord Jesus Christ. And by the love of the spirit to
- 1:53strive together, with me, in your prayers, to God on my
- 1:57behalf that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea
- 2:01that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the same,
- 2:06so that by God's will, I may come to you.
- 2:09Enjoy and be refreshed in your company.
- 2:14May the god of peace be with you all?
- 2:17Amen. I want.
- 2:20I want to draw your attention to the last few words.
- 2:22In verse 32, notice what the Apostle Paul says and it's an
- 2:27inside, that's not just on that this verse, but throughout the
- 2:29New Testament, he says, here that by God's will which is
- 2:34important because you believe anything that he experienced,
- 2:37was my permission from heaven. He said by God's.
- 2:40Well I want to come to you with joy but notice and be refreshed
- 2:45in your company. The New Testament teaches
- 2:49something quite amazing. And this is big that there is
- 2:52something unique in the company of Believers and within that
- 2:57company is reserved particular Supernatural refreshment.
- 3:03That does something tangible in your soul.
- 3:07Now, notice this is not speaking about Jesus.
- 3:10This is speaking about those who are indwelled by Jesus.
- 3:13And what's amazing here is that Paul is implying that bye.
- 3:17In the presence of these Roman Christians.
- 3:20There would be an injection of Supernatural strength, courage.
- 3:26That would be enjoyable in the process of that Fellowship.
- 3:31It would be dishonest for me to say that if you come into a room
- 3:35filled with professing Christians, that this experience
- 3:39of refreshment is automatic, I don't have to prove that to you,
- 3:43but if you trust me to say this, if you go to First Corinthians
- 3:4611, what you will see is that Paul actually told that church,
- 3:49when you guys come together, it's actually worse.
- 3:53It had become so carnal and fleshly and selfish that Wendy
- 3:57came together. It was actually causing more
- 3:59grief than it would refreshment, which is quite talented about
- 4:03what we're capable of as Believers in Jesus.
- 4:06But in this case, with the Roman Christians, Paul is convinced if
- 4:11I made my way there, he's never met them before.
- 4:14If I make my way into your presence, I know I will be
- 4:18refreshed but that will require something.
- 4:21Mutual And this is what I want to exhort you within a brief
- 4:24message. Then if we are to know something
- 4:27of refreshment, especially in the day, where you can feel it
- 4:33in the air that there is, this will get to in this weekend.
- 4:36But there's this sense of Despair, there's a sense of
- 4:41things are not the same. There's a lack of peace, there's
- 4:43a lack of true join Contender. There's a lack of clarity.
- 4:47This is this is needed. That's why I'm convinced that
- 4:51most of you here at least you believe that there is refreshing
- 4:54here. But there is personal
- 4:55responsibility on behalf of each of us that will make that know
- 5:00the full potential of this refreshment is many things.
- 5:04But can I just give you three things that I would like to
- 5:06place into your hands that will? If you are willing to say yes
- 5:10to, if you are willing to contribute to will make this an
- 5:14electrifying weekend for your walk with the Lord, Let me tell
- 5:18you three things, that's totally scriptural to be intentional
- 5:22with for this weekend. All right.
- 5:25Number one, be intentional to sing.
- 5:32Be intentional to sing last year.
- 5:36We received some comments, nothing - but just comments of
- 5:39observation that we sing some songs that are not common in the
- 5:45millennial. Demographic, not common and it's
- 5:51mainly hymns. And there's some songs that
- 5:52we're not used to doing this is not really in the charts.
- 5:55This is not really popular as a Ministry.
- 5:58We are intentional about the songs that we sang meaning, we
- 6:04screen songs to the best of our ability, and we study them
- 6:09before we sing them. And that's important because if
- 6:13I were to just give you the Mindful and asked you to come
- 6:16up, Geology of worship, praise. Just on the scripture.
- 6:22I'm sure that you will come with a different conclusion than what
- 6:25is popular today. Scripture is clear that when we
- 6:30sing, we're actually teaching. We see that new testament.
- 6:37Ephesians, 5:19, were told to address one another in Psalms,
- 6:40and hymns, and spiritual songs. And so, I want to challenge you
- 6:44with something Beyond this weekend, if your worship leader
- 6:47of your part of the praise, mr. Your local church, not in a
- 6:50rebellious way, but in your personal life, first I challenge
- 6:54you, if you went to strip the music away from the songs that
- 6:57you sing even in your personal life, when what you are saying,
- 7:01be true. According to the word of God.
- 7:03Is that what you would actually say?
- 7:05To God and is that what you would actually say to teach
- 7:09somebody else about guy? I think, if we use that filter
- 7:12alone, a lot of the songs that we've seen that, we think sound
- 7:15good. It might be with talented
- 7:17musicians, and they might be popular, would not be our top
- 7:20choices of what we would say. And so here's, here's what's
- 7:24important. According to the New Testament,
- 7:26singing has always primary role of glorifying and exalting God
- 7:30himself, but very close to that. There is a mutual teachability.
- 7:35Leti, that requires the entire corporate presence to
- 7:40participate. So worship is not a band
- 7:46performing. It's not, it's not, that's not
- 7:49lined up with the word of God. In fact, I'll take it even
- 7:51further if this overpowers the voices of the people we're not
- 7:56doing worship Ray. I know it's really challenging
- 8:00because when you didn't go to the New Testament, what you see
- 8:02is that every person that comes into the door for an official
- 8:05meeting, When we come in the name of Jesus, every person is
- 8:09coming with a voice with their personal voice.
- 8:14And so here's what will happen if we actually take that
- 8:18seriously and it's really powerful actually, if we
- 8:21individually make a willful decision to sing, then we will
- 8:25know the full potential of the sanctifying effects that God has
- 8:29intended for praise and worship, which means something else.
- 8:32Because the first step of making sure we're saying the right
- 8:35things to God and to other people about God is only the
- 8:39first step is if you finish infusions 5:19, what will you
- 8:43see that? To sink.
- 8:44Yes, address one, another. But also he says to the Lord
- 8:48with a Melody, with your heart, with your heart, - volume.
- 9:03That's what he's saying. It the singing is not a dull
- 9:06experience, it should not be at least and here's what will
- 9:08happen. If you train yourself in this,
- 9:10what will begin to happen is, you're not going to get that
- 9:13tingly tingly, he's when the bridge comes.
- 9:16You're not going to get it when somebody does something tricky
- 9:20or sweet or clever with the instruments.
- 9:22What will happen is once you read those lyrics, on the screen
- 9:25on a sheet around reviewing them, the truth will stare your
- 9:29heart and you will you will explode based on the truth that
- 9:33you're rehearsing over yourself and over others.
- 9:36I want to tell you some of the most healing moments in my
- 9:39personal walk with the Lord, being meetings for years for
- 9:41almost 11 years now has been in the singing not to diminish.
- 9:46Screeching, we'll get to that moment but this singing it's a,
- 9:49it's amazing, how you can walk in with so much weight and so
- 9:53much thoughts in mind. Not because the preacher says
- 9:55something that has a role in the meeting.
- 9:57But when the people with their booming, voices, Cascade and
- 10:02declare, the goodness of God, there is something so powerful
- 10:07in that, and we robbed all of us of that experience.
- 10:11When we leave it to a few people to sing over us.
- 10:15And So be intentional about singing be intent on.
- 10:19I get it's difficult, I've been there.
- 10:21I look at a song comes up. I've never sang it.
- 10:23Have never heard it and it's difficult to participate.
- 10:28At the same, time to go out with that, just jump in when you feel
- 10:31like you're comfortable and try to get in there as quickly as
- 10:33possible. So, when I see something in the
- 10:35course happens once or twice, I think I got it.
- 10:37And next time, I'm going to get in there.
- 10:39But let me say this, if you doing all this, why?
- 10:42I reserve your voice, why? Hold back.
- 10:46There might be many reasons for that.
- 10:48We'll get to that this weekend is well-being, tension.
- 10:50While singing second, be intentional about hearing the
- 10:54word, god. About hearing the word of God
- 10:58here. Here's what's been one of my
- 11:00personal joys of this particular conference.
- 11:02I've been to different conferences and the experience
- 11:06of the word of God being proclaimed has different in
- 11:09those conferences. One of the joys of Maranatha.
- 11:11Every year, is that I mean, people who want to be here for
- 11:15the word of God, and that's a testament because you don't have
- 11:19to be your grown adults, most significant, right?
- 11:21And we don't have rules and we don't play tricks for you to get
- 11:24in here. We don't have any prizes and
- 11:26stuff. That's for a different thing,
- 11:27but not for you to get to the work that we have no incentive
- 11:29other than this is God's voice and I should be the greatest
- 11:32incentive along. And so I'm not saying this
- 11:34because in years past, we've had to struggle getting people in
- 11:37here or people wander off and then tens is not as strong as it
- 11:41should be. Actually, it's the opposite.
- 11:42We hear people come just for the meetings and they drive very,
- 11:44very far. That's very, very encouraging.
- 11:46But nonetheless, you never know every year is different.
- 11:50The enemy would love to hinder you in this weekend to receive
- 11:54God's work. He doesn't give up just because
- 11:57this ministry has a reputation of people would love to hear the
- 12:00word of God, especially in these.
- 12:01Last days, I wouldn't be surprised if the obstacles would
- 12:04be very strong. And so be aware of that and be
- 12:08mindful of that. Who cares?
- 12:10If your friends don't want to come come and receive God's
- 12:13work? They want to sleep in, let them
- 12:15sleep in, come to receive God's work, but let me take it for, I
- 12:19love this and I just finished three gone to turn there, but in
- 12:22Exodus 3, we read when Moses is there in the wilderness.
- 12:26And the angel of the Lord appears in the bush and becomes
- 12:29a manifestation, a strange kind of position of a bush that's
- 12:32burning but not consumed. And if you read verse 3 and 4
- 12:35carefully, what you see is that very, very specifically, the
- 12:39voice of God knew that bush. There's not amplify until
- 12:43something happens actually moving into point and actually
- 12:47is chapter 3. If you want to see you in your
- 12:49Bibles, you can turn there with me because this has been a
- 12:51life-changing principle in my life.
- 12:54We see an exodus three. And Moses said, I will turn
- 13:02aside to see this great sight. Why the bush is not burned.
- 13:07When the Lord saw that, he turned aside to see God called
- 13:11him out of the Bush, Moses Moses and he said, here, I am.
- 13:17I read this and it dawned on me, one particular, night years ago,
- 13:22in my own personal reading, and it shot out like a narrow and
- 13:26pierced my heart because this is what I take out of this.
- 13:30The wording is so strategic imply that God did not choose to
- 13:34speak to Moses until he knew. He had Moses attention.
- 13:40God chose not to speak to Moses until he first learned at saw
- 13:44that Moses turned around and gave his full attention to the
- 13:48manifestation of God. I think, the reason why most
- 13:54meetings don't hit our hearts and most times in our personal
- 13:56meaning, we don't get anything is because of this very reason
- 13:59we're very distracted punch. We're very distracted people,
- 14:05and God like this. Waits for us to give the honor
- 14:10of our attention to before he will make anything personal from
- 14:13his word to us. So I encourage your be intention
- 14:16of coming in here and limiting and removing all the
- 14:20distractions. Can I tell you what I do, when I
- 14:22come to me this mean, maybe you don't, you don't have to take
- 14:25it. I'm not there to sit beside my
- 14:28friends. Like this is not about friends
- 14:30and I'm not there. I will talk afterwards.
- 14:34We have a whole day after the meeting to be able to hang out.
- 14:36But in this moment right here, I need to hear from the Lord.
- 14:38I want to hear from the Lord is a wonderful feature.
- 14:41Its, if I think it's an every iPhone, I'm not sure.
- 14:44It's called silent mode. Its glorious, it's wonderful.
- 14:50It's probably the best feature of every phone.
- 14:53Try. It will help a lot that promise,
- 14:57the intentional to hear God's work.
- 14:59These messages and these meetings have been prayed over
- 15:02with great intensity because we believe that we're living in
- 15:07unprecedented times, this isn't the meetings are not a secondary
- 15:11perk to this very reason why we're doing this weekend so that
- 15:14you would know something of the Special Touch from the Lord
- 15:16through his word being proclaimed.
- 15:18In some Lastly, be intentional about True Fellowship.
- 15:23We also organize this weekend so that you would know, True
- 15:25Fellowship. We know people even people at
- 15:28their wives here people that their husbands here, people have
- 15:31met lifelong friends here. That's awesome.
- 15:34That's wonderful. I mean when people say that
- 15:37they're almost like, they say it as a negative thing, that is not
- 15:39a negative thing. Where else would you want to
- 15:41find a spouse? Other than someone who came for
- 15:43a weekend to hear God's word? Amen.
- 15:45That's wonderful friends. Amen.
- 15:47But here's the thing, when Paul Row two.
- 15:51The Romans, he was not writing to a group of preachers and
- 15:53evangelists. He was, he was writing to a
- 15:57group of Christians that if you just go to the next chapters,
- 16:00you get an idea of who they were woman men, young and old.
- 16:03And to this group of people, he was saying, I can't wait to be
- 16:06in your midst because through your company.
- 16:10I the great Apostle, Paul, and greatly refreshed.
- 16:15Take advantage of this weekend where you're outside of your
- 16:19normal schedule and curriculum and you're with a bunch of
- 16:22people, also chose to be your, I hope for Sanctified reasons.
- 16:26Come to the prayer meetings, we have prayer meetings, joined the
- 16:29activities. Let people sit at your table at
- 16:33lunch and dinner that are not the people that you hang out
- 16:35with. When you go back home, be open,
- 16:38be sensitive. There are some people here as
- 16:40you saw for the first time that are stepping foot on this
- 16:43grounds, they took a plane, they flew Alone.
- 16:45They're staying at a hotel there here, without knowing anybody,
- 16:48that can be daunting, and let me say this, if that's you, please,
- 16:52I want to meet you come up. After one of these meetings, I
- 16:54would love to shake your hand. I would love to, at least, say
- 16:56hello and get to know your name, but for everybody else, let your
- 16:59heart be open to other people. You know what that means?
- 17:03It means it's okay to approach somebody and say, hi.
- 17:05It's okay when somebody says, hi to you to ask some questions
- 17:08about who they are and where they're from, you'd be amazed to
- 17:10know how you can be blessed by them and how they can be blessed
- 17:13by you. There's something special that
- 17:16God has reserved for this weekend, based on the simple
- 17:19principle of what we just read in Romans.
- 17:21But it will require some intentionality and so strive for
- 17:25that and you will leave here, knowing knowing this
- 17:28refreshment, I can guarantee you that.
- 17:31So as we close, let's just pray and ask God to help us, shall
- 17:33we? And let's Implement what?
- 17:39These words have offered us. Lord.
- 17:44We really thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
- 17:48For what you have planned for each of us as Paul believed that
- 17:51it was, the will of God Alone, that would give him the grace to
- 17:56be with the Roman Believers. We believe it is by your will
- 17:58that every person is here for this weekend, we have no doubt
- 18:03about it. Father, we ask that you would
- 18:05truly make this a time of refreshing.
- 18:08We confess that true refreshment is not in vacations.
- 18:12It's not in experiences that we can purchase with money or true.
- 18:18Freshman is in the Redeemer and thank you.
- 18:21That that truth expands into those that you and well, we ask
- 18:26Lord no matter how we came in this weekend, we ask Lord that
- 18:31you would truly refresh as we are in need of it.
- 18:34We want to drink deeply from The Well of your wisdom and Truth
- 18:37and Love and so Lord may you push back.
- 18:41All schemes of Satan, would you cancel all the things that we
- 18:44try to disrupt? What you plan to do in our
- 18:46hearts and Lord may we leave here?
- 18:48Glorifying you, realizing that you have truly filled as a fresh
- 18:53with the Holy Spirit. This is our desire in our crime
- 18:56in Jesus name, amen. Can we stand?
- 19:01I believe we have few more songs.
