- 0:20Speaker 1: So this week is a very special horror club episode
- 0:23Speaker 1: and you could hear it if you were a member
- 0:25Speaker 1: of the horror club and uh it's not real hard
- 0:28Speaker 1: to do you should go do it now Plus, as
- 0:31Speaker 1: a bonus, you get to pick a movie for us
- 0:33Speaker 1: to watch in the near future. If not, let's go
- 0:37Speaker 1: back to what I'm referring to as movie threats. If not,
- 0:42Speaker 1: we have to pick our own movie, and I keep
- 0:44Speaker 1: going out into the world and finding horrible things on
- 0:48Speaker 1: a shelf somewhere that I'm like, I only go with
- 0:50Speaker 1: them if I've never heard of it and I don't
- 0:52Speaker 1: know what the hell it is. I'm like, oh, well,
- 0:53Speaker 1: that's got to be a terrible thing.
- 0:56Speaker 2: So this.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I was trying to before I tie in with this
- 0:59Speaker 1: week's movie. I thought, let's see if we can.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Find a good vampire title I've run across lately.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So I, in a two-pack, I came across Vampire Wars. Now,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I'm picturing, now granted, the cover is like a weird
- 1:17Speaker 1: blue vampire face just like yelling at you. So don't
- 1:21Speaker 1: judge a movie by its cover that the person in
- 1:24Speaker 1: the art department has never seen the movie more than likely.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Because there's a lot of really bad movie cover art
- 1:30Speaker 1: out there that's become synonymous with video releases. This is
- 1:33Speaker 1: bad cover art. So in my thinking, I'm trying to
- 1:37Speaker 1: piece together what I'm thinking this is as I look
- 1:39Speaker 1: at it for a half second.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, so this is.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Like modern day vampires inner city.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And instead of like a drug war, they're having vampire wars.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And this is our turf. That's your turf.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Whether they're fighting over we kill people on this turf
- 1:53Speaker 1: or we recruit new vampire people on this turf. But
- 1:56Speaker 1: either way, that sounds like what that plot is, right?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Is it not?
- 2:00Speaker 3: See, I'm picturing the last scene in Twilight, only cool.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Only not Twilight.
- 2:09Speaker 1: So then, I don't even think I flipped it over.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I went today and was like, well, what is the
- 2:13Speaker 1: plot of this? In the wake of the American Civil War,
- 2:18Speaker 1: two vampires rise and fight to reclaim their land from
- 2:22Speaker 1: the inhabitants of a sleepy southern town.
- 2:26Speaker 2: What?
- 2:27Speaker 4: That sounds fun.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Not at all what I was thinking it was.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Is one of them pro-slavery?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Probably. Are we going to know who the racist vampire is?
- 2:35Speaker 1: The other thing is, when you bring it up on
- 2:38Speaker 1: your IMDB or whatever, it comes up as Dead South.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And not Vampire Wars, although then the artwork on here
- 2:46Speaker 1: says Vampire Wars.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Do you want us to have to watch Vampire Wars?
- 2:52Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I kind of do. Hey, we could put it on there,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but you're probably thinking to yourself, I can think of
- 3:00Speaker 1: 20 better movies than that, and you should join the
- 3:03Speaker 1: club and then give us one of those movies, because
- 3:05Speaker 1: we need 20 movies every week, because we're going to
- 3:08Speaker 1: roll a die, and then that's the movie we're going
- 3:10Speaker 1: to watch, and you could have your movie right there.
- 3:13Speaker 2: On the list.
- 3:14Speaker 1: If not, you have to listen to us say ridiculous
- 3:17Speaker 1: things like this.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Hello, I'm Jerry Dandridge. I just went, no.
- 3:23Speaker 3: No way are you Jerry Dandridge.
- 3:26Speaker 4: It was really, really bad. It's gross. It's like, I
- 3:30Speaker 4: don't know how much of it they were trying to
- 3:32Speaker 4: make erotic because there's a lot of really long, drawn
- 3:35Speaker 4: out lesbian vampire seduction scenes.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I mean, that's a whole sub-genre that some people, I'm
- 3:42Speaker 1: going to say lame dudes, get into, but I mean, hey,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I could be wrong.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Well, I feel like the.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Lower your budget for a vampire movie, the higher.
- 3:50Speaker 2: The higher likeliness. The lesbian, yeah. Sex scenes of any sort,
- 3:56Speaker 2: but bonus points for lesbian.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Especially lesbian vampire sex scenes.
- 3:59Speaker 4: It was just, it made me sad.
- 4:03Speaker 1: He's pretty good at that. Like, I know lots of
- 4:07Speaker 1: people that didn't like his Big Oscar-y movie this year,
- 4:09Speaker 1: but this one, he made the same year, and I'm like,
- 4:13Speaker 1: This is really stylish and well shot. It's got this
- 4:16Speaker 1: great cast and he should just do more of these.
- 4:20Speaker 3: It's basically alive. Like it flies away like a bird.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And they're like, hey, did you see it fly?
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I did.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Alrighty.
- 4:28Speaker 3: And as dumb as that sounds, it's funny in context.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Yeah, this movie reminded me so much of my senior
- 4:36Speaker 4: year of high school.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Because you were killing vampires right and left.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, every time she tunes up her guitar, she's.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Like, movie meltdown. And it was filmed in real D3D.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Ah. Yep, that explains it. I don't know if I
- 4:55Speaker 4: liked that or not. I guess.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's convenient. I mean, it's the kind of thing that
- 5:00Speaker 2: turns up in movie screenplays.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Of course you're the one that killed my parents.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I mean, it's convenient, but, I mean, not totally necessary.
- 5:11Speaker 1: This is at least three Poots for us, so I'm
- 5:14Speaker 1: considering just a side series of Pootscast. We're just going
- 5:19Speaker 1: to start our own Pootscast and nothing but Imogene movies.
- 5:25Speaker 2: That is very silly looking. Thanks, Spielberg. I'm a fruit bat.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Not everyone will claim that.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I want that on a t-shirt.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I gauge everything against Celine Dion.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Do you think she has a haunted museum in her
- 5:44Speaker 4: pet house?
- 5:45Speaker 2: I hope so. Do you think she kills vampires? Because
- 5:49Speaker 2: I kind of do.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I could see that, actually. I think she is a vampire.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Celine Dion, vampire hunter.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Or vampire. Either way I'd watch this movie. Let's start casting.
- 5:58Speaker 4: That one right now.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Or she's a vampire who is also a vampire hunter
- 6:02Speaker 3: and therefore reviled. Amongst her own community.
- 6:05Speaker 1: She's a blade.
- 6:06Speaker 2: She's a half-blood.
- 6:08Speaker 3: These things write themselves.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Selene, come on, get with us. Let's put this together.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Did you watch Vampire Horse?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Oh, God, no.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I'm intrigued.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Because I'm not coming up with anything.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I'm curious about the costume.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing. Yeah, you have to. No, that's
- 6:25Speaker 2: a band. No, I've heard them. I'm not a big fan, really.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I think I blind bought a CD one time and went, no,
- 6:32Speaker 2: this is not for me.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Now, are the vampires also Civil War soldiers who've only
- 6:38Speaker 4: recently been killed, or is this an entirely different conflict?
- 6:41Speaker 1: According to this one sentence I read on IMDb, I
- 6:45Speaker 1: have no idea.
- 6:46Speaker 4: All right. Well, it would have to two out of
- 6:50Speaker 4: ten on IMDb.
- 6:52Speaker 2: What does that tell you?
- 6:56Speaker 3: Hey, a 2.8 out of 10, thank you.
- 6:59Speaker 2: 2.8.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Oh, one of them's name is Beauregard. Oh, it's Hildegard
- 7:05Speaker 4: Charmington and Beauregard Charmington are the two brothers.
- 7:10Speaker 2: And Hildegard is a guy.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I didn't know that was a dude type name. I've
- 7:15Speaker 1: heard Hildegard, but I always thought it was usually associated
- 7:19Speaker 1: with a woman type person in it.
- 7:20Speaker 4: You would think, but I don't know. It was the 1800s,
- 7:22Speaker 4: I guess. I guess.
- 7:24Speaker 1: They came up with some weird names back in the day. Well,
- 7:28Speaker 1: if you don't want us to have to watch this
- 7:31Speaker 1: ridiculous movie, go to MovieMeltdown.com. Click on the banner there
- 7:35Speaker 1: at the top. Join the Meltdown Horror Club. Give us
- 7:38Speaker 1: a better option.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Every word, shut down and let in. What's left to do?
- 7:57Speaker 1: These broken pieces.
- 7:59Speaker 4: On the floor.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'm losing my voice, calling it on you.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Cause I've been shaking, I've been bending backwards till I'm broke.
