Transcript
- 0:00Bismillah Rahman Rahim Salami coming up to live.
- 0:02Look to welcome back Grand Sisters to the Aftermarket
- 0:05podcast. We are fast approaching the day
- 0:09of Arbaeen and of course, for those of us who are still here
- 0:12at home, we pray in Shallah next year, we have the opportunity to
- 0:15go. Our hearts are in Karbala, we
- 0:17wish we were there. We yearn to be alongside our
- 0:20Imam Ali Salaam, Abufal Abbas Ali Salaam, but in Shallah next
- 0:25year, we'll have the opportunity.
- 0:26For those of us who have friends or family there, Shallah,
- 0:29they've arrived safely. Before we get into the episode
- 0:33Bruns Sisters, I just wanted to mention a small campaign.
- 0:35After Maghrib are running every year, you'll know we have the
- 0:38opportunity and the privilege of working with the Abu Fadl Abbas
- 0:42Alayi Salaam Shrine and their media department to be able to
- 0:45produce English content for people around the world about
- 0:48Arbaeen, because we're not there this year, we still wanted to do
- 0:51something for the Arbaeen season.
- 0:53So we are contributing and with your support we're able to
- 0:57contribute water, water to the Zawad in the burning and the
- 1:01scorching heat of Iraq at the moment, temperatures reaching up
- 1:04to 50°C. We're giving water to those who
- 1:08are visiting, the one who died thirsty on the day of Ashawa.
- 1:11This is the greatest blessing you can give to the Zawad to be
- 1:15able to serve the Zawad. Brother, sisters, there's no cut
- 1:18or profit in it for after Mahalib, just solely and shut
- 1:21Allah, fisabil Allah if it's accepted.
- 1:23But what we are trying to do is to raise money for those who are
- 1:26visiting the holy shrine. And you can support this by
- 1:30visiting aftermarket.com/water. Even $1.00 will contribute 60
- 1:36cups of water. And for those of us who have
- 1:39been on Ziata, you'll know how precious those tiny little cups
- 1:42of water are. But yeah, before we go any
- 1:45further, say it Ali. Salaam Ali.
- 1:56Alaikum Salaam. How are you, my brother?
- 2:00I want to say al Hamdullah while Hamdullah Alaq and I'm I'm
- 2:05devastated. I'm not Karbala I.
- 2:07Know. You know, for the last few days
- 2:08of. You and I both.
- 2:10Just speaking to people who have booked and who are going and
- 2:13some who are already there already.
- 2:16And, you know, sometimes when we open up our feeds and come
- 2:19across clips of people taking on the Mashiah, for example, people
- 2:23serving the Zoar or people entering the shrine of ABBA
- 2:26Abdullah Al Hussein, starting from Lejef Amiram.
- 2:29Like these things. They're playing Mohawk, Yeah.
- 2:31That's how I feel. But you know what?
- 2:32You. Say how you're feeling.
- 2:33Yeah, even, for example, like the airport trips, like dropping
- 2:38friends or family to the airport is emotional.
- 2:40The other day I was, I dropped someone to the airport and like,
- 2:43it really hit me, you know, this should have been or not should
- 2:47have been. It could have been me, but next
- 2:49year and Charlotte, the best we can do is just to try and serve
- 2:52the Zawah. Ultimately they were chosen and
- 2:56they have a special rank this year amongst the Mott Minin who
- 3:01have the blessing and the privilege to go.
- 3:03So Charlotte next year, Charlotte, we have the near.
- 3:06We go together and Charlotte and the whole team, Bruns sisters.
- 3:09We have a very special guest on the Aftermarketed podcast today,
- 3:12friend of the team, not just a friend of the team, family to
- 3:15the team as well to me and said Ali as a brother, but literally,
- 3:18quite literally a brother to our dear beloved, said Mushtaba, who
- 3:21you guys will know from sometimes on the couch, but
- 3:24mostly behind the camera, said Motodal Hosseini Islam Alik
- 3:27Hussein. How you doing much?
- 3:30For having us. Hi, baby, said.
- 3:31How are you? Lovely to join you guys on the
- 3:33couch. About time.
- 3:34How's it going? There's a watch behind the
- 3:37scenes. Happy, we say.
- 3:38That's great. Amount of words.
- 3:40Happy, we say to. You here honestly is.
- 3:43This stuff, like, I know you've been on camera, yeah.
- 3:45Is this the first time you've done podcast?
- 3:47Podcast. Yeah, first.
- 3:49Time. First time I've done shows but
- 3:50those are mostly live and no one sees them later on.
- 3:53So those are just one offs and you're off but this one.
- 3:57Saying that this season out of Bahin for the last probably 1520
- 4:01years for you has been like havoc, chaotic in a good way.
- 4:07How much sleep are you getting right now?
- 4:09How much are you doing per day? For those who don't know, of
- 4:12course you are heavily involved in all areas of the community,
- 4:15of course in in the media field, with the moment I say on TV and
- 4:20with your local community and so much more.
- 4:22What's what? What does your average day look
- 4:24like right now? It's very different when I'm in
- 4:28Araka, when I'm in London, so, so work is very different.
- 4:31Like when you're in Araka, it's mostly it's not production, it's
- 4:34meeting people and Cos back it's a central hub.
- 4:37You're seeing people that you haven't seen for years, like
- 4:41supporters of your projects and dozens of your projects.
- 4:43So you meet them on a one to one basis, like then US, Australia
- 4:47and you meet them in Karbala. So when you're in Karbala,
- 4:50you're meeting people, but when you're in London, it's mostly
- 4:53production and and coordination between our team and London
- 4:56team. So it's different.
- 4:57But when you're in Karbala, it's different.
- 4:59Like I remember every year we go, like I travel a lot with Ali
- 5:03Hassan Gigani. Yeah, we did a lot of our trips
- 5:06together. So when we go Karbala, like the
- 5:08last thing we think of is hotel because we're not staying.
- 5:11Like you barely sleep when you're in Karbala is you're all
- 5:13you're doing Ziara or you're. Out running.
- 5:15Around seeing people, yeah, fair.
- 5:18It's different. But now this year, like London,
- 5:21unfortunately I'm not able to go.
- 5:22Like I think my first trip, I don't know what year it was if,
- 5:24said Ali. We went, I think I was like
- 5:261516. Yeah, 2008.
- 5:28Yeah, we were young kids back then.
- 5:32This is the first time I don't go after those years.
- 5:34I don't know how many years it's been.
- 5:36Yeah, over 16 years, 15 years. Fair.
- 5:39It's the first time I go fair. It feels very different, Very
- 5:42different. Why does it feel different?
- 5:43Why? Exactly, exactly.
- 5:46And it's easier to say you're seeing everyone going and you're
- 5:49just here and you're like when I watched the out of buying feed,
- 5:52which were broadcasting and I'm like emotion.
- 5:55Well, I don't sit in this control room because I'm like.
- 5:57Can I ask you, do you know when you do all of these things, do
- 6:00you feel you can benefit to the same level?
- 6:01Because I know, for example, I think said Ali and I are lucky
- 6:04to the degree where where like not so technical said Ali is
- 6:08more than me. For me, I can just about tell
- 6:10AA, AAA batteries what's what's what's what, you know?
- 6:13But like, can you fully experience Majalis, the walk in
- 6:19Zeala itself? Do you know what I mean?
- 6:21Are you honest? Like the last 16 years, like the
- 6:25guys in London will take care of all the broadcast for Cabrera
- 6:28and they'll work after Iraq team.
- 6:30Like, I barely get involved because I got alacked.
- 6:32I just leave them to it. Yeah.
- 6:34And they do like the I plan ahead for them scheduling and
- 6:38what time and what they need and the graphics and all those stuff
- 6:40I do for them. But I don't get involved after
- 6:43that. Like I leave it to them to do
- 6:44everything. So when like this year, because
- 6:48I'm in London and I can't go, I'm pushing them to do more.
- 6:52And I feel like in the last couple years there's a short
- 6:56coming from me because now I'm on the ground.
- 6:58I see like where we're lacking. Like when the YouTube broadcast
- 7:02doesn't go live, like when I the last 15 years, I won't care when
- 7:05they message me stuck for a lot. Like no, I don't care.
- 7:08But I'm so busy, I can't reach out to to the person that
- 7:12manages YouTube or like when social media something's not
- 7:15posted, like I just let it go. But now that I'm in London and
- 7:19I'm seeing that people are like yearning to see the Mashiah,
- 7:22it's like I have to do as much as I could.
- 7:24Yeah, of course. And yeah, I don't know if I went
- 7:28off the. Sun No, no, no bro, I don't.
- 7:30Remember what the question was I'm trying to recap.
- 7:31Like, how do you do you feel like you can experience it to
- 7:35the same degree? Do you know what I mean?
- 7:36Yeah, I feel like you missed out.
- 7:38I do. I missed out a lot and like
- 7:40yesterday I was going to take us to Hara to go.
- 7:42Then I was like if it comes out good, then I have to go.
- 7:44So I was like, let me not take, let me stay sitting because I
- 7:48have to take the whole family and then it's sake.
- 7:52Sometimes there's a greater plan.
- 7:53Yeah, if you don't know Charlotte.
- 7:55And Charlotte? Not this year, Next year.
- 7:57Charlotte. Charlotte together again.
- 7:59Charlotte. Because you know, firstly,
- 8:03you're Karabelli, so you know the insurance and outs of the
- 8:05Holy City and you've been there many years.
- 8:07But something I think unique I've seen that you do say it is
- 8:10that you encourage people to go to the Yeah, I like I I know
- 8:14first hand from people who if I ask them how you went to Irvine
- 8:17this year because yes, hey, Mortava made me go.
- 8:20I mean, yeah, yeah, you, you come across.
- 8:22I've heard about visuals. It's going around, yeah.
- 8:24What drives you to do this and why are you encouraging people
- 8:26that have no intention? They have the earning to go, but
- 8:29they don't have that push. And let me and push that as
- 8:31well. If there are people who are
- 8:33watching right now who either are new Shia, like Reverse or
- 8:37people who have never been and like, yeah, yeah, honey, I want
- 8:41to go, but it's too crowded. It's too hot.
- 8:43It's I'd rather go. And when it's not masseuse, it's
- 8:46quiet, period. What would you tell them?
- 8:51I'll say go. It's a different experience.
- 8:53Arvine is a different experience.
- 8:54It's not like normal Ziyada. I know it's busy and it's
- 8:57difficult to get around like I find it hard to get around.
- 9:00But you want to experience the feeling of Arvine in a different
- 9:04time of Ziyada like but. Why is it different?
- 9:06What's that? What's that feeling?
- 9:07The people you see, like you're everywhere you walk, you're
- 9:11seeing like it's like a shit a Hobbit.
- 9:13It's like everyone around the world comes together in that one
- 9:16season in Karbala and wherever you go you'll see someone you
- 9:20know, someone from your country, from America, Australia, Canada,
- 9:23UK, Europe. You'll see different people and
- 9:26you'll meet people like you won't.
- 9:28You won't realise you're just bumping into English like
- 9:31speaking people who have the same love you have from I'm
- 9:34Saying Alice. But if you go, for example, in
- 9:36April, for instance, you're only going to see Aracas.
- 9:40And it's it's it's beautiful because it's quiet, but the
- 9:43experience is different. Like the love everyone has.
- 9:45Everyone has the same objective as walking and and not enjoying
- 9:50the walk, but going through that walk experience and and eating
- 9:54from the same food and serving together it's it's a different.
- 9:57Feeling find a lot. It's one light.
- 9:59It's a sudden you feel special to be Shia.
- 10:01Yeah. Yeah, you're very.
- 10:02Proud in that environment, you have millions alongside you,
- 10:06millions who have done this every single year or millions
- 10:09who have come for the first time.
- 10:10And it's always that first time experiences that people have.
- 10:13Yep, that bro, they, they touch you and make you understand what
- 10:17a blessing it is to go on Zia because you know, sometimes we
- 10:20go year in year out, sometimes we go outside the seasons.
- 10:23Like we mentioned, people go during quieter times.
- 10:26Sometimes we don't realize the, the, the macam of the Ziara,
- 10:30right? We, we, we forget.
- 10:32But when we meet people there from different parts of the
- 10:34world, different walks of life, different backgrounds, different
- 10:37countries. Also, I say people who you would
- 10:39not even imagine go Ziara come Ziara and see what Ziara does to
- 10:43them. You're like, what is Imam
- 10:46Hussein? What is this Imam doing to the
- 10:48world? He's changing the world,
- 10:51changing our souls, changing the way we connect with our faith.
- 10:54And just on the point of you said, for example, it's like the
- 10:56hub of the show, you and Karbala, it's a magnet.
- 11:00It's a magnet for what? It's teaching us something, bro.
- 11:03And I think of it this way, when you have all these millions of
- 11:06people walking that tired, they've sacrificed a lot.
- 11:09They've, you know, closed their businesses, they've left family
- 11:14behind and they're walking to Imam and Hussain Ali Hassalam,
- 11:17not just for the siara, but as preparing us for Imam and Mehdi.
- 11:20I don't Allah to Alafaraz al Sharif that when he does
- 11:22reappear and shallah happens during our lifetime that we are
- 11:25ready for that. That we can, you know, lose
- 11:27sleep, we can lose our wealth, we can tell the family we need
- 11:32to leave. Like so much of these things
- 11:34prepare us for that. And the acts of kindness that
- 11:37you see the headsman that people have for the Zoawar bro, this is
- 11:41all preparation following. Trust me, trust me, you can't
- 11:45just because a lot of people say, OK, let's go Ziara, but why
- 11:48are we walking? Why the walk?
- 11:49Why? Why do you want to endure the
- 11:51pain? Why do you want to have nights
- 11:52where you're not resting? Well, you know, there's people
- 11:55Hataya who get sick. Yep.
- 11:56There's people Hataya who I've heard stories that I can't share
- 12:01here, that they go through sometimes traumatic experiences,
- 12:04but they say it's worth it. It's worth it because the
- 12:07ultimate goal is, Imam and Hussain say the Shabab gender
- 12:12from all of this in Ziara. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:15Proper Shia HQ. Yeah, Shia HQ is.
- 12:18Yeah, yeah, You know, I used to think the same thing.
- 12:20Like, I would think maybe we've turned into like a social
- 12:24festival to some degree. And like it's, it's nice, like
- 12:28all this much this in this hotel on this day.
- 12:30Yeah. And, and this modem session in
- 12:33that place on this day and so on and so forth.
- 12:36And you kind of schedule it out, you plan it, which speakers you
- 12:38want to hear, which reciters you want to hear.
- 12:40And I, I at one point it got to be like, well, are we kind of
- 12:45turning into like, you know, a huge festival, like I said, to
- 12:50some degree where I can listen to this here and you're taking a
- 12:53pic and you're picking and choosing what you want to hear.
- 12:56And does the walk become more important than the Ziala, the
- 12:59visitation itself? But then I thought of it.
- 13:01Like you said, in the grand scheme of things, this is a last
- 13:04preparation for us. Adebayeen is a microcosmic
- 13:08example of what the Mehta we society should look like, where
- 13:12for those few days you have no concept of wealth, no concept of
- 13:16status, No Arab is superior to a non Arab, no rich is superior to
- 13:21the poor, so on and so forth. And we see that pure
- 13:25pluralistic, egalitarian society manifest through the walk and
- 13:31the Ziata in and of itself. Do you know what I mean?
- 13:33And there's one thing beautiful. Ultimately, everyone is walking
- 13:36for the same purpose. Yeah, everyone is there for the
- 13:38same purpose. Mandela Diyeshwaru in Indahu
- 13:42Allah bit isn't it? Like who has Allah given granted
- 13:45the intercession for if not for Imam, St. al Islam, Bab al
- 13:49Hawaii, Jabufallah, Abbas Ali, Salaam, These are the two
- 13:52figureheads who we look to when we arrive in Karbala.
- 13:56We look at them and we first thing we ask for from our Hajja
- 13:59is to be able to return and continue to return into the die
- 14:02on that path. You know, I think sometimes we
- 14:06if we don't have that matter for perhaps of the Imam, we lose
- 14:10sight of why we're there. But ultimately, when you do go
- 14:13there and you reflect on the fact that everyone here is for
- 14:17the same purpose of mourning and learning from Imam Hussein, but
- 14:22also looking forward, preparing for the hold of the awaited
- 14:25imam, That's the difference between US and other schools of
- 14:27law. You know, we're forward-looking
- 14:30and we learned from the past as well.
- 14:32So I think that's, you know, one of the most beautiful
- 14:34experiences. You know, I haven't learned.
- 14:36I wanted to ask you specifically about changes you've seen or
- 14:44kind of miracles, either like literally direct miracles, but
- 14:47also kind of transformations you've seen within people and
- 14:50especially from within yourself. So for example, this, as I said,
- 14:55Ali said as a Karbalai, this is quite literally in your
- 14:58bloodline. You guys are the custodians of
- 15:01this land, you know, and this is what what a status that is to,
- 15:04to, to hold. But what transformation have you
- 15:08seen as an individual through all of these years you've been
- 15:12going forward, Zia to Arbaeen on yourself, but also from the
- 15:16people around you. Transformations at Handler,
- 15:19there's like been a lot that I've seen within like the groups
- 15:22that I take and the individuals that I take like at Handler.
- 15:25And like I said, I said we went on our first Ziara and 1516
- 15:31years ago and back and back then like I, I could say this is how
- 15:35old is it? It used to be cold back then.
- 15:37We used to wear Colts and. Yeah.
- 15:39And we used to walk across, it was rainy, muddy.
- 15:42It was beautiful, a different experience because you're
- 15:44walking in the cold. It was a different experience.
- 15:46And I learned this from our fathers, our elders who who used
- 15:51to take us to Ziyada and they used to take us all as young
- 15:54Shabab, as bad as we were and as how headache we were like one
- 15:58would sneak out. Now these guys used to prank
- 16:00each other, mess about on the plane and so on.
- 16:03But we all had that love to go back every year.
- 16:05And the cast now, like grown men of kids want to go back every
- 16:08year because our parents took us back then and that's what
- 16:12transformed us to who we are today because of what our
- 16:14parents did and the and like the first ship they forced us to go.
- 16:18Like who would ever think like say the other will take like
- 16:211520 kids? Not just my father, but the
- 16:24other elder men that were wolf us.
- 16:26I'm saying Hamid, the most of his father and the others, they
- 16:27were wolf us as always to stay in their house with an edge.
- 16:30Who would ever think like they would want to take 20 young
- 16:33Shabab who were like naughty kids back then and not listen.
- 16:37And now look at all of us taking our family and kids to the other
- 16:40every year and we're yearning to go every year that we all want
- 16:45to go. And it's the same same group of
- 16:46Shabab who still go every year now.
- 16:49So when I take like Al Handela, I learned this from my father
- 16:51and, and the others, like I started, I at a certain time of
- 16:56my life, I was working for groups, I worked for spiritual
- 16:59journeys for about four years. So I had that experience.
- 17:02I, I saw first hand experience how they dealt with groups and
- 17:05so on. So Al Handela, I started taking
- 17:08on taking the younger generation from our mosque.
- 17:11I won't say like I was in a perfect manner as well 1516
- 17:15years ago like my Salah, my Salah my son is you were growing
- 17:19up. You're a teenager.
- 17:20If I stick a lot of these younger Shabbat from the
- 17:21Hussain. Yeah and and you see them in
- 17:26London one the one type. And then when you take them on
- 17:30Ziata, they they've transferred, transferred to different people
- 17:33like their Salah, first thing they do as soon as you're hair
- 17:37done. So yeah, I'm swearing it stops
- 17:39and they still joke and mess about.
- 17:41But they changed people. And it's not like I used to
- 17:44teach them on the way. I'm not the type who is that I
- 17:47don't give Islamic teachings or knowledge to younger generators
- 17:49because I don't think I'm learning enough.
- 17:51But like these guys will learn and pick up during that one week
- 17:55you're there in Karbala. So you see the transformation
- 17:58that the everyone goes through because you went through a
- 18:00transformation back then. And now the people that I'm
- 18:03taking on for the other, I used to, I unfortunately I've had to
- 18:06stop because of work commitments.
- 18:08But when I used to take them for about 6-7 years, you see what
- 18:11kind of people they are. Like we used to film short
- 18:13documentaries during our walks and there's like once me, I
- 18:16said, I do like we worked on back then.
- 18:18And then the guys started filming their own documentaries
- 18:21on their phone and you watch like the other day.
- 18:23Most of them are married now. The guys that I took and while
- 18:26at every time we sit like they're younger than me, but you
- 18:29see them at Husseinis and they all remember that like say
- 18:32motto, let's go again together and I'm so sorry I can't go
- 18:35anymore like as a group of you guys and it's memories that
- 18:38stays in them and look at them now.
- 18:39Everyone's changed. They're grown men pray fast.
- 18:43They probably like they have more Zamic knowledge than I do,
- 18:46to be honest. Mashallah on them.
- 18:48And I say that this trip is what changed them.
- 18:51I made them. That's the change I saw in
- 18:54myself. I think again, like just like
- 18:58them, that first yada I went to with my dad and the and the
- 19:01other Shabab is what changed me and made me who I am today.
- 19:04And the love that I have for going Ziadas is because when I
- 19:08was forced to go 1615 years ago. Said Ali has a phrase.
- 19:13Yeah, it's a question. Shall say a phrase.
- 19:16Yeah, I'll. Get scared.
- 19:18You're going to do a roast to my Arabic?
- 19:20Yeah, Allah, said Ali, says Shinu al Akhtaq al Hussein.
- 19:24Allah. I might not get it right.
- 19:27Absolutely spot on. What's your relationship with
- 19:30the Mama Has said. It's a difficult 1, you know, I
- 19:35see it like it's a relationship like at Handler, which is every
- 19:41egg gets built more and more. Like you get more and more
- 19:43attached to, to Mama Hassan and a little bit every year you get
- 19:47more attached. The more you work in the service
- 19:50of Mama Hassan, the more you're attached to him.
- 19:53And this is, you can't describe it, I'll be honest, like the
- 19:57more effect you have on people, the more you see that you have
- 20:01to carry on doing more for for your people around the world and
- 20:05I don't. Know you didn't answer my
- 20:08questions. Yeah, I know.
- 20:09I'm trying to think it's a difficult.
- 20:10It's a hard one. It's hard.
- 20:12I don't think you can say it what to be honest.
- 20:15Like it's it's, it's all deep down that I think everyone
- 20:18individually has their own connection that they have with
- 20:21ABBA Abdullah Hussein Alayhi Salaam and Inshallah always have
- 20:23this connection. Inshallah.
- 20:24This is this is we say Nur Asul Allah sallallahu alayhi Alayhi
- 20:28talks about the flame and the horse of the believers that will
- 20:31never extinguish in the love of Imam and Hussein Alayhi Salaam
- 20:33and this is living proof. I was gonna say other people
- 20:36your your your love for the Imam and the other debate Alayhi
- 20:39Muslim is manifested and personified through what you do.
- 20:42Actions allowed in the words. You don't need to say it.
- 20:44You don't need to see it. Yeah, You see it.
- 20:46Yeah. And you you're not only like
- 20:49it's not only a case of people see it through what you do, but
- 20:52you've been even chosen to wear the badge of his name as your
- 20:56day-to-day work and the the things you do in the community.
- 20:59And this is something very few shit.
- 21:02I have the privilege. Something we're talking about
- 21:04just now. Before how, like your friends
- 21:07don't look at your work. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:08They don't value as much as other people do.
- 21:10Like 100 and the last three years when we started on this
- 21:13project in London for the new building that we purchased.
- 21:16Yeah. I wasn't that much in the PR
- 21:19section of the fundraising department of the Channel.
- 21:22I was mostly in production and I was mostly behind the cameras.
- 21:26I wasn't a confident speaker. I'll be honest, I was.
- 21:28I would never speak like only with friends.
- 21:31I would speak even of Ahmed. Like when I see I I can't have a
- 21:33conversation because that's that's how to be honest.
- 21:36No, but but like my work is what built me to I am today and
- 21:41you're. A great speaker.
- 21:42Handle that. But after, like because of this
- 21:44project, I was forced to start fundraising for the channel and
- 21:47I travelled a lot in the last three years.
- 21:50I got to travel a lot from Singapore, Dubai, America,
- 21:55Canada. They sent me a lot of places
- 21:57around the world that handle that and the people that you see
- 22:01and the attachment they have to the little bit and mom saying,
- 22:04are they? So is, is what's the driving
- 22:06force for us is like, I I would go create a live show and I'd
- 22:11like, yeah, there's only like 20 viewers watching and that's it.
- 22:16But then you go see these guys around the world and one's like
- 22:19he's like, yeah, I'm listening to the podcast while I drive to
- 22:21work. One is saying, oh, I saw it.
- 22:23Like you walk around and people remember you because you came up
- 22:26on like a 22nd ad on the share voice.
- 22:29So it shows the extent that you reach around the world.
- 22:32It's like we went Singapore a couple months ago, a year ago
- 22:36and we sat with a family. There's about 90 shit are over
- 22:39there and the, the place we went.
- 22:41And these guys know like every piece of content you create on
- 22:44the maps and TV and every speaker that features and every
- 22:47presenter they know and they know you and, and because you,
- 22:51you showed up on the share with. So it shows like what we're
- 22:54doing is much bigger scale than what we think it is, even though
- 22:57we're just in front of cameras or behind the.
- 22:59Cameras Oh, you're right and I'm I'm, I'm not going to say you're
- 23:01wrong either because we are literally just like a spectacle
- 23:04of dust and the entire world of hitmen serving the religion and
- 23:07the Al Bait Ali Musalam. And I think I want to talk a bit
- 23:10about the media work that we all do here collectively.
- 23:13But just before I go there, I'm going to go back to a point.
- 23:16You spoke about transformation. You said, you know, you've seen
- 23:19people who go there and their life get transformed, whether
- 23:22they start praying on time or, you know, it's, it's, it's it's
- 23:25really life changing one way. And for those of you who have
- 23:27never been to Karbala, you got to understand something that
- 23:30when you go to the Ziyar of Imam Al Hussain, you're not just
- 23:33going to any grave. You're going to the grave of the
- 23:37one we say in Safina, Tanja Tamasmah al Huda Rahmat Allah al
- 23:41Wasai. Like there's a reason he has all
- 23:43these titles and he has all these attributes.
- 23:45He is our arc of salvation. He is the one who's going to
- 23:49take us back if we're going left and right.
- 23:51Like how many lost people do we find?
- 23:53People who lose their ways or even sometimes ourselves?
- 23:57Let's be honest, sometimes like we, we, we, we, we fall short on
- 24:01certain things that we know these things we need to fix.
- 24:06We think about about Abdullah and the blessing we have to be
- 24:09Hosseini and Shia to attend these Majalis and to perform
- 24:13these Ziaras. These are a blessing and they
- 24:15take us back on track. I don't ever, if you're ever
- 24:18thinking and what's the point of Ziara, I can say I can do Ziara
- 24:21from far away. Yes you can.
- 24:23There's no denying, there's no denying but there's a difference
- 24:26when you go there. It's life changing and I say
- 24:28that because I've seen it happen.
- 24:29Like you speak about 1516 years ago, I remember I was telling
- 24:33Ahmed as well. I think since 2910 onwards, I've
- 24:37had the opportunity of Hamdullah to go almost every year and in
- 24:41one of those years I went with a group of people and there was an
- 24:46individual who came who I did not expect to come, but he came.
- 24:52I think a lot of us encouraged him to come.
- 24:54We love him. Yeah, of course we want the best
- 24:57for him and everything. But he wasn't on on Dean.
- 25:00If we can say those words, he came there.
- 25:03He came Ziara and he said I still remember these words.
- 25:06He was like, I'm standing here and Imam Hussain is there.
- 25:09Like, the distance between me and him is like this.
- 25:14And I say I'm Husseini because he used to show up just for
- 25:17Majanis. Yeah.
- 25:18But he doesn't live the Husseini lifestyle, Right.
- 25:21And it was in that moment when he realized the shrine and the
- 25:23grave, when Bam Hussein is just there and he's just meters away.
- 25:26What is he doing with his life? And he didn't expect to be here.
- 25:31So for him, it was a calling. It was as if Imam Hussein
- 25:33invited him to come, and he accepted that invitation and
- 25:37changed his life. And he made that.
- 25:38He made an oath. He was like, I'm not.
- 25:40I'm never going back to what I used to do.
- 25:42And Hamdallah, today, he's got family, he's got children and
- 25:46yeah, like. You know.
- 25:49Transforms. Salaam has this effect on
- 25:52people, and not only after his martyrdom, but even during his
- 25:56lifetime, there were so many people who took up that
- 25:58opportunity. And Imam Hussein went to them.
- 26:01Yeah. Like you look at the head of
- 26:03pain. Yeah.
- 26:04And of course, we know he was with Mani.
- 26:06We read his story. He would be ahead and Imam
- 26:09Hussain would be behind. And then he would wait to
- 26:11overtake and he would try and avoid meeting the Imam.
- 26:14And at that moment when the Imam's messenger came to him and
- 26:17said Imam Hussein wants an audience with you, Zohair would
- 26:20say, OK, I'm coming in a bit. He said, no, the Imam is
- 26:23outside. Yeah, Imam has come to you.
- 26:25Are you going to deny him? And his?
- 26:27Of course, his wife encouraged him.
- 26:29Zohair couldn't say no. And these are examples that you
- 26:32know the Imam and so many opportunities the Imam even in
- 26:36his life, Ali Saddam consistently tried to give
- 26:40people chances to turn towards Haq.
- 26:42He spoke with Omar bin Saud for three hours on the day of
- 26:45Ashura. He sent letters to the the
- 26:47chiefs of the Ashirahs in the the tribes in in Basra and Kufa.
- 26:51He spoke to so many of the commanders on the build up to
- 26:57the day of Ashura. His sermons in Mina, his sermons
- 27:01in Makkah, his sermons are in many of the villages on route to
- 27:05Karbala. Like there are so many examples
- 27:07in our Wyatt which specifically talk about Imam Hussein saying
- 27:10to them, I am here standing in front of you, will you not turn
- 27:14back towards Haqq? And then there are those people
- 27:16who turned away. There's a story of a guy called
- 27:18Obeyed Allah Who? This is crazy.
- 27:21By the way, I only heard this last week for the first time.
- 27:24There are people like Zuhair who turn towards the Imam and then
- 27:28there are people like this guy. I believe his name was obeyed
- 27:30alive and hot. I might be wrong, but I believe
- 27:33this was his name. The Imam like he spoke to many
- 27:37influential tribal leaders and societal leaders.
- 27:40He spoke to this guy who was like a merchant or an affluent
- 27:43businessman and he said to this guy obeyed Allah, I want you to
- 27:47join me. I want you to give your
- 27:50allegiance to to me and to stay alongside me.
- 27:53This guy said to the Imam, he says yeah, ABBA Abdullah, may I
- 27:58be sacrifice for you, I love you, I wish to be with you.
- 28:02However, I have my business and I have my family.
- 28:05I can't abandoned them. However I will give you
- 28:08something more valuable than my life.
- 28:10I'll give you my horse. And he says I don't want your
- 28:14horse. He said no, I've never given my
- 28:16horse to anyone but for you, take it.
- 28:18It's the fastest horse, the strongest horse.
- 28:20And mom said, I don't want your horse, I want you.
- 28:23And this is just goes to show there are those people today,
- 28:26they will do everything, including myself, first and
- 28:29foremost, everything to, to, to with our lip service, with our,
- 28:35you know, those who for example, we maybe for example, I take a
- 28:38role of volunteering in the community and I want to show my
- 28:41community. I'm Khadim and I serve and I
- 28:44stir the ghetto and I put down the Sofrar and I do XY and Z for
- 28:49show and for public recognition perhaps.
- 28:51But ultimately if the Imam has come to me and I haven't
- 28:54accepted him in my heart, then it's worth nothing.
- 28:57This is these are the things we have to think about during this
- 29:00season. Like your Behar to the Imam.
- 29:04The Imam then in the same way they would have the choice to
- 29:07give Behar to him then and only the minority did.
- 29:10Are we going to do it now? They are to the Imam of our time
- 29:13now. So yeah, sorry to sidetrack you
- 29:16bro, I know you want to talk about.
- 29:17This it's a vital point and I I'll add to that as well.
- 29:22Actually, with your permission, say it.
- 29:23Probably you want to say something, but no, no, just on
- 29:25the point you were talking about when Imam and Hussain would
- 29:28speak to certain companions and individuals and try and take
- 29:32them back. Yani, if you think about it,
- 29:34this is this is 1 la proper math and not everyone knows this.
- 29:38Omar have been Saad. Do you know how much
- 29:39conversations he had with the Imam?
- 29:41So many. Until the until the eve of
- 29:46Ashura, from the morning until the morning of Ashura, if I'm
- 29:48not mistaken, Imam Hussein still gave him the opportunity to come
- 29:52back and look at at where it reached.
- 29:55But he chose dunya. He chose to.
- 29:57He knew this was Imam al Hussein.
- 29:59He knew this was the grand, the only living grandson of
- 30:02Rasoolallah Sallallahu Alaihi. He knew he was the son of Atman
- 30:05Zahra Alai Salaam. Yet the dunya swayed his swayed
- 30:10his heart, right? And, and I think that's a trap
- 30:13many of us can be trapped in today.
- 30:15Trapped in the dunya. We love rasulallah sallallahu
- 30:18alaihiwala, we love Allah azzawajal, we worship him
- 30:20because he's worthy of worship. We know all of this.
- 30:23But when the time comes, I don't know, because Imam and Bendy I'd
- 30:28Allah to, if we can use him as our today example, our living
- 30:33example, similar to the stories of Imam and Hossein, when he
- 30:36comes, I'll be ready. That's a conversation for
- 30:39another day. But it's something to reflect on
- 30:42man big time, big time. And I think Inshallah, we are
- 30:45ready for that, for that day. Be in the I want to go back to
- 30:48the media world because with your permission, because you're
- 30:54heavily involved in media. We have also a background
- 30:57heavily involved in media. And currently we're hosting the
- 31:00aftermath of a podcast. And like, I wouldn't say we know
- 31:03it inside out, but we try our best to to hold inshallah, one
- 31:09of the many flags of this religion and Inshallah, one that
- 31:12has accepted in the eyes of say, the Papamalia.
- 31:16Where can we improve from all your experiences, from all your,
- 31:21I would say years of whether it's volunteering or working
- 31:27directly or meeting different organisations, how can we
- 31:31improve as a community as a whole when it comes to the world
- 31:34of media? So, but not just Imam Khasin to
- 31:36share your this very method because it's easy to make a live
- 31:41show, to make a podcast, to work.
- 31:43Yes, it's easy. It's easy, as in it's hard work
- 31:48and you can support us. Visit aftermushroom.com/ER
- 31:51Hussein So in the campaign so that we can continue these
- 31:54convos, but where can we improve?
- 31:57Because just before they say it came on, there was someone else
- 32:00in there and he was like, how do you guys do it?
- 32:03How do you reach the right audience?
- 32:04How do you, you know, make sure that your content is going to
- 32:08the right people? How can we improve to become the
- 32:11very best in the world of Islamic media, the Sony world?
- 32:16Amazing they're 1010 Marshall yeah correct.
- 32:19And they've done amazed. I've I've seen yeah, I, I you
- 32:23can disagree. No, I'm not talking about the
- 32:25content. I'm saying the way they market,
- 32:27the way they. Do them, you know I've got 2
- 32:30points. Sorry your brother's disagreeing
- 32:32in the background. Yeah, I I disagree as well, by
- 32:34the way. I agree to disagree both ways.
- 32:37I think there's two aspects which we lack in our communities
- 32:40around the world with shit and media outlets.
- 32:42We can't blame finance. Don't blame finance.
- 32:45I I was going to say finance, but that was later.
- 32:47This is where I say the Sunday. Professionals.
- 32:49Yeah, media professionals, like people who have worked in the
- 32:53mainstream media industry. We have.
- 32:56We have like someone that we all look up to, media hasn't and
- 33:01he's doing amazing work. But how many media hasn't?
- 33:03Do we have one? That was the tale 23.
- 33:06There's only a handful of of how many professionals in the media,
- 33:10behind the scenes professionals leave presenters to one side.
- 33:14We have made Hassan, which is number one in the UK, in the
- 33:17world. OK, but then how many like that?
- 33:20How many big director names do we have in UK, Canada, America,
- 33:24let's say that we could say are big directors Like nothing
- 33:29because not because he's my cousin or anything, but like the
- 33:32only amazing big projects I've seen come out of the Shia media,
- 33:37for example, other than Anya has stunned as a big TV, severe TV,
- 33:41everyone they've done amazing work the last couple years.
- 33:44But I'm saying TV as well because I work for them.
- 33:47For example, the Shia voice like after Maghrib as well.
- 33:50And you have only how many TV channels you have unfortunately.
- 33:54Like after Muslim I'm saying TV shit, let's cap it at 1010 Max.
- 34:00In the English world in the last couple years, even Arabic.
- 34:02There's no big Arabic channels, massive media outlets.
- 34:06What can I ask NBC? Are you talking because first
- 34:08you said about presenters in the wide?
- 34:10No, but I'm saying both. We don't have.
- 34:11We have presenters. OK, so you don't have Shias in
- 34:14wider media? Wider media, which we don't
- 34:15have. Unfortunately we don't have
- 34:16expert Shias within Islamic. We have, but unfortunately
- 34:20they're unseen talent. Like recently I got to know a
- 34:24university lecturer in, in Manchester who's who's a film
- 34:28creator and he's, he's, he has amazing content.
- 34:31I've never heard of him in my life.
- 34:32I only found out about him because one of our donors left
- 34:35money next to him. And I, this is fun.
- 34:37That's how I found out about. But I'm saying like there's only
- 34:40selected number of people we have in the media industry.
- 34:42I wasn't a professional. I had to learn my way into it.
- 34:45And a lot of people that we train in the channel, for
- 34:47example, after 5-6 years, they leave.
- 34:51And unfortunately, because it falls down to finance, you can't
- 34:56force someone to stay at their jobs if you can't.
- 34:59Incentivize them financially. Yeah, you can't beat the
- 35:01competitors out there, so of course.
- 35:03The guys come us back down to money.
- 35:05To money, but we can't blame all the time.
- 35:07I think, I think if I can be honest with you, yeah, I think
- 35:10it's much broader than this. But well, see, the way I see it
- 35:13is I don't look at it as Islamic media is there.
- 35:16We're looking at how to improve this.
- 35:17I look at it as Shia community more broadly and our community
- 35:21literacy when it comes to media. Yep.
- 35:23So that includes our mosques, our youth groups, our AB Sox,
- 35:27our TV channels, our social media pages, all of these kind
- 35:31of different establishments and institutions generally have to
- 35:34improve in their literacy on how to utilize social media and just
- 35:38general media, of course. So for example, our centres, I
- 35:41can't imagine how many sensors you've worked with, live
- 35:43streaming, lectures, events, probably hundreds.
- 35:46Yeah, I remember the days when we were doing the TV channel
- 35:49work, it was at least in the hundreds as well.
- 35:53The main issues, I know sensors are getting better, but having
- 35:57high quality equipment and sound.
- 35:58And I know our respected speakers and scholars, they've
- 36:00mentioned this a lot, but high quality tech and sound and all
- 36:03of that. But also just generally maybe
- 36:06and maybe these are the things that we can do because now with
- 36:08Hamdallah, we're all like in our 30s.
- 36:10We've had a good 1015 years under our belt in this field,
- 36:13developing A framework for our younger brothers and sisters to
- 36:18get into journalism for the cause of a last one.
- 36:23So that could be, you know, hosting seminars in their
- 36:26centres, doing little community podcasts, because that would
- 36:30develop and in turn generate networking conversations,
- 36:34discussions. Maybe I'm seeing it more from
- 36:36the like content side of it as opposed to the infrastructure
- 36:40side of it, which I know you'll see it from that perspective.
- 36:43But I think it's it's multi pronged, but definitely like
- 36:46finance is the core of it. Finance is the core and
- 36:49unfortunately our communities don't understand the importance
- 36:52of it. Like I use this a lot as
- 36:54example. Like when I want to take my
- 36:56younger brother, I have a younger brother who's who's 20
- 36:59years younger than me. He's 20 years younger than me.
- 37:02When we tell him let's go to the Hysenia, he's not going to the
- 37:05Hysenia if his best friends are not there, if he's not taking a
- 37:07football from his iPad. But when he tell him, let's go
- 37:10shit our voice, he's the first one to be there.
- 37:12This is like today's today's day and age.
- 37:15The only way to bring the youth closer to the religion is
- 37:18through what they like. Like a lot of people say you
- 37:21guys are crazy spending half £1,000,000 on ATV show, 19
- 37:24episodes. It's a big amount of money.
- 37:26But once I remember when we first gave away the £10,000 gift
- 37:31to to to the winner of the year, always one of our donors is
- 37:34like, you guys are crazy. How?
- 37:35How can you justify giving £10,000 to the winner?
- 37:39Then Hajj Hassen Fed my manager replied to him.
- 37:41He's asked him if your son was to go to university, would you
- 37:44sell your house for him to make sure he graduates and goes into
- 37:47uni? He's like, of course I would,
- 37:49he's like the Shiite kids in the world are our responsibility.
- 37:53We have to spend whatever we have to make sure they graduate
- 37:56from from the university of little bit and hold the Quran.
- 38:00And he's like, this is the only way to make them attached to the
- 38:02Quran a little bit is by creating shows which, which is
- 38:06high standards like Netflix or like Britain's Got Talent.
- 38:10I know a lot of people say you guys are copying Western
- 38:12television, but Western television is bringing our youth
- 38:15in to watch. So if you're copy pasting but
- 38:17giving them Islamic knowledge and and or iron and poetry and
- 38:21lecturing, of course it is what is you're you live in the West.
- 38:24You know, it's interesting because I feel like on the money
- 38:26side of it, our community and just generally people in the
- 38:30West are kind of torn between so many causes.
- 38:34Yeah. And like it goes without saying,
- 38:36there's there's we're seeing genocides right now.
- 38:38We're seeing wars in Palestine, Iran, in Lebanon.
- 38:41And at the same time then you've got causes on the ground.
- 38:44We have so many ample that are why art about poverty in your
- 38:47locality, your neighbors and all of that.
- 38:50So not only that, you've got a crisis overseas, you've got
- 38:52domestic issues for living in a recession.
- 38:54The worst fuel crisis is humanity.
- 38:56People are tight with money. So then if you say to them
- 38:59here's £100 to spend on charity, give it to a 'cause you really
- 39:04identify and connect with most people.
- 39:07I don't know about all people. Most people will give it to a
- 39:10relief based project, Understandable.
- 39:12So they'll give it to something which pulls on their emotional
- 39:15heartstrings. Water orphans, disaster relief.
- 39:19Understandable. OK, media in many ways, like you
- 39:23said, equally as important in in some ways, but also it's
- 39:27investing in the future of of our communities, younger
- 39:32generations, but in a more intangible way.
- 39:34You can't visibly see what you're doing to someone's heart,
- 39:37you know, you can't see the impact that you're having to
- 39:39summon 3000 miles away. And these are the things which
- 39:42come out of investing into media, be it aftermarket able or
- 39:45the TV channels or anything else equipment in our centres.
- 39:50But those are the kind of small and intangible benefits that
- 39:52will go decades long in terms of the benefit and the teddy beer
- 39:56we have for our families. Do you know what I mean?
- 39:59I think this is probably something you felt as well, that
- 40:02fundraising for media. Is exhausting.
- 40:06The days I worked at Adam Bay TV were some of the most character
- 40:11building days for me because we did fundraising.
- 40:13Hamdallah, great success, fundraised well in the years I
- 40:17was there. Fundraised hundreds of thousands
- 40:20of pounds for media. But like you said, we always
- 40:25have to remind ourselves where we are in comparison to the rest
- 40:29of society. If we're falling behind in terms
- 40:31of technological advancement, our youth will always look to
- 40:35the alternative. Unfortunately, the alternative
- 40:37is filled with jahiliya and distractions and all sorts of
- 40:41haldam. So the argument to say that we
- 40:44have to replace it with equivalent forms which are halal
- 40:48is a fair argument to make. You know, like we, I think we
- 40:51also undervalue our own content and what we work on.
- 40:54I was speaking to someone from a Sunni TV channel, big Sunni TV
- 40:58channel in the UK. They're on Freeview and Sky and
- 41:01they're on every single platform.
- 41:03We're speaking about some fundraising projects we're doing
- 41:05for another charity. Then he was telling me he's
- 41:08like, you know, 'cause I was, I was introducing myself, I was
- 41:11acting. I've worked on Share a Voice
- 41:13project, I've worked on so and so projects.
- 41:15He's like, I know every single project you're talking about.
- 41:18Then I start laughing like how come he's like our directors
- 41:21make us sit and watch them on CNTV really throughout the day.
- 41:24They play on us on ATV in our office and they make us sit and
- 41:28watch you guys program to get ideas.
- 41:30And I'm thinking, bro, I'm watching and these Youtubers and
- 41:34I'm getting ideas from them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:38It's quite, you should understand where we're getting
- 41:40our ideas from as well. Fair.
- 41:42It's like, again, I think at the same time we undervalue our
- 41:45quality and what we do as well for.
- 41:46Sure. Often we, I think we definitely
- 41:48do. There's been so much convoys,
- 41:50Ahmed, you know, there's people. Oh, as in personally myself,
- 41:54like just with the work that we do here after Maghrib, how much
- 41:58time someone has come up to me? Are you going to continue every
- 42:01week? You know, is this what you're
- 42:03going to do for the next few years?
- 42:04Charlo, I know you know why I don't think people understand
- 42:08the impact media platforms have on those who want to learn about
- 42:14Shia Islam, on those who want to clear a misconception on Shia
- 42:19Islam, on those who are shy to ask a question to Al or scared
- 42:24to speak to their parents about certain subject.
- 42:26Whatever it is, media is the best way forward.
- 42:30I even if I think about my children growing up, I wish back
- 42:34then I had Islamic media or Shia Islamic media.
- 42:37If I can talk about growing up, Hamdullah, I had hosseini, I had
- 42:44parents who kept us within Islamic environments and things
- 42:47like that. But today that's difficult and
- 42:50you're going to school, there's no Islam, OK, you're going to
- 42:53work, there's no Islam. You're going on public
- 42:55transport, there's no Islam. And you're turning on your TV,
- 42:58you're scrolling your phone, hem, no Islam.
- 43:00At least these are certain places where you have reminders
- 43:03to your faith, where you have answers to the questions that
- 43:06you have. And it's very critical.
- 43:08And the reason why I said, you know, many people ask me this
- 43:11question and I say Inshallah, I never give up from Islamic media
- 43:14because how much messages come to I remember last year or two
- 43:19years ago, season 3, I was on edge having probably knowing I
- 43:23didn't. Both had those moments bro.
- 43:25Because it's hard work. It's hard work and you have to
- 43:28balance your, your home, your. Work right now to your.
- 43:31Serving. And it's Wednesday, 1:00 AM
- 43:33right now. There you go.
- 43:35And I remember saying Mustafa asked me a question and he was
- 43:38like I said, are you gonna are you ever going to leave
- 43:40Aftermath? And I was like, bro, have you
- 43:42just read this comment that came in?
- 43:43And I think it's on one of the episodes I was like, someone
- 43:45just became Shia in Ohio because of aftermath rib and you want me
- 43:49to leave? It ain't happening.
- 43:51It's that simple. And if you see the impact is
- 43:53happening happening, sorry. Why would you not want to
- 43:57support causes like this? Honestly, And I Hamdullah, I
- 44:01think I've because I've personally seen it even back in
- 44:05the helibi TV, the way we became, for example an out our
- 44:10mosque for people who never had the community.
- 44:13We became a member for people who never had the pasenia, for
- 44:15example. That is something we take for
- 44:17granted. You know, there's a friend of
- 44:19mine. Yeah.
- 44:20Mudge. Mudge.
- 44:21Do you remember Ricky? You know, we, there's a brother
- 44:26who reached out to me like 10 years ago or something, and he
- 44:30would tell me that he found a show we hosted back then.
- 44:34I can't remember which show it was, to be honest, but it was a
- 44:36show we're doing. And he reached out to me.
- 44:38He's like, I'm, I'm not a Muslim, but I wanted to ask you
- 44:40a few questions about this and that.
- 44:42And he lived in Panama and the brother was probably the same
- 44:47age as me. And we became friends.
- 44:48And then he converted and changed his name to Haidel.
- 44:53He's now been in Hauser for like 6 years, 5-6 years.
- 44:57Yeah, bro. And he's in classes with a
- 45:01friend of ours, Chef, who's who's been on the podcast and
- 45:05he's, I told the Sheikh I was like, do you know how I was
- 45:08like, do you know Ricky? Like who's Ricky?
- 45:09I was like, hey there. Oh yeah, yeah, The brother I was
- 45:13like, I couldn't call on bro, but you hear these stories.
- 45:15Yeah, you know, I was telling said I did 2 days ago.
- 45:18I was at Majlis and someone respect his sister said I had
- 45:22this specific podcast three times because I enjoyed it.
- 45:26Or for example, two weeks ago I was at an event and at that
- 45:29event we, we did live podcasts there.
- 45:32And at that event, the brother said that this is the first time
- 45:36in my life I've cried for Imam Hussein al Islam today.
- 45:40Like, wow, these kind of things put things into perspective, you
- 45:43know, these moments. So always all goes back to the
- 45:46course, you know, the Thakalene ultimately.
- 45:49And that's what we're trying to do, man, just to stay true to
- 45:52that, that instruction and that guidance left behind by the Holy
- 45:56Prophet. So Sharla, we can, we can do.
- 45:59That said, on a last note, I kind of want to ask you about
- 46:05your ambitions, your legacy, specifically speaking, where do
- 46:12you see yourself moving forward in the coming years?
- 46:16Like do you have aspirations? But more so how would you like
- 46:21to be remembered? What you want to be remembered
- 46:25by something you've done, something you've you've been a
- 46:28part of? And yeah, it's.
- 46:31Tough one, my aspirations to make the message of Mark St.
- 46:37Alison and reach all corners of the world.
- 46:39I think we're not doing enough at the moment and I think
- 46:42there's still so much more we could do in Charlotte through
- 46:44through the media, like we spoke about.
- 46:47And looking back 12 years ago when we first established the
- 46:51project in London for Mark St. TV and where we are now, I think
- 46:55there's a long way we could go. Like if we achieved what we
- 46:57achieved in 10 years in London, imagine the next 50 years, 100
- 47:01years, what we could achieve in Charlotte.
- 47:03So there are parents of Sahbad Asar Azaman.
- 47:05So we hand over everything to him in Sharla for achievements.
- 47:09I, I see there's lots more I could achieve to the cause of
- 47:13the message of Mum Ali Saddam. We could still change millions
- 47:17of lives around the world and what we're doing now is amazing.
- 47:20And I, but I think we could still do more in Sharla with few
- 47:24guys at top and all, all the, all the people in the media and,
- 47:27and these projects in Sharla, what I want to be remembered as
- 47:31I, I said, they've gone. I'm a servant of Mark.
- 47:35Say I said, that's it. Someone who didn't show any
- 47:38shortcomings for the message of Mark saying they said that's it.
- 47:41Everything that I see from my father and what he does is
- 47:45inspiration for me, because whatever he does for people and
- 47:48for communities, it's always in silence.
- 47:51And he doesn't tell us. So he doesn't say to us, but I
- 47:53find out for other people what he does.
- 47:55And inshallah, that's something we could learn and carry on
- 47:59doing is serve our communities around the world in silence.
- 48:04And, and, and they always say you, you, you achieve more
- 48:08silence for inshallah. Who could?
- 48:10The chief. Charlotte, I really say
- 48:12beautiful words. You, You and your brother.
- 48:14I think your two men worth 200. I'm not even exaggerating.
- 48:18It's only the world knew what the both of you have done.
- 48:22Always the parents, like all of you.
- 48:24Like I said, God bless the sort of His Father.
- 48:27Like your respected father. I'm sure everything we learn and
- 48:30we do is from our Father's. Absolutely.
- 48:32Of our families, our elders, parents Sha Allah gives them
- 48:36long lives and and blesses their souls if they're no longer with
- 48:39us and I encourage everyone at home to to support the work so
- 48:44much of us doing support the channel and also be able to
- 48:46support general causes within the community which needs
- 48:51attention. Of course all our charities, our
- 48:54organizations right now that are in need of support but also
- 48:58share feedback. I'm sure seeing one of our like
- 49:02us is always open to suggestions for topics, for ideas, for
- 49:06volunteers because there's so many ways to get involved.
- 49:10Is there any like tips or suggestions you'd have someone
- 49:13if someone's to break into this field, get involved in Shia
- 49:16media or Islamic media? Any tips you could give them?
- 49:21Reach out, there's a lot of people that are looking like
- 49:25your centres. Stuff with your centres, stuff
- 49:28with your own community. Then you're reached each other
- 49:32other avenues for each other. Thanks.
- 49:35Dad. No, I I think you've you've said
- 49:38it's so beautiful. I just want.
- 49:40To be thank you. I've been talking to me.
- 49:41I'm not just saying what I'm joking.
- 49:43You say you're beautiful, he said.
- 49:45Yeah, he smashed it. One of you remembered us.
- 49:48And. Servant, that's long sit.
- 49:51And that's what we all want. You know, you know, there's that
- 49:53Haditha middle what we need in a Salaam where he says I'm my, I
- 49:57am more known in the heavens than I am on the earth.
- 50:00Like that is how we aspire to be in Shah Allah.
- 50:04It doesn't matter how our legacy is in this world.
- 50:06Who cares how many shahada have come and left in this world?
- 50:09There are so many names are just missing, never known to be alive
- 50:14or or have become Shaheed. No one knows what their legacy
- 50:17became, but ultimately they're the status of certain mutaqeen
- 50:22who reach a that level is they're known by the angels.
- 50:26You know, this is what we aspired for.
- 50:28In Charlotte, in Charlotte just I just had something in my mind.
- 50:31I was like a person like say whatever, like inshallah, a very
- 50:36long life, Inshallah. Not just serving about Abdullah,
- 50:39but raising a generation that will serve and continue to serve
- 50:42and inspire others Inshallah. But say mortal is the type of
- 50:45guy long way you live in Charlotte.
- 50:47Yeah. Maybe say that.
- 50:48And there's Raven Hall dimensions.
- 50:50In Charlotte. In general.
- 50:52In general in. To that.
- 50:55To that and Charlotte, there's so much and so many things we
- 50:58learned from you, not just from you, from your brother and your
- 51:00father. May Allah BBC thank you for
- 51:03having me. It was lovely speaking to you
- 51:05guys. Beautiful person is different to
- 51:07you guys outside the podcast. Have you had in the laughs And
- 51:10Charlotte? You guys continue what you do
- 51:12and inshallah most of everyone. Likewise.
- 51:15By the way, if you know you know there's one member of our team.
- 51:19He really needs your daughter right now.
- 51:22Please remember him so most about Hosseini.
- 51:24He's he has we pray in Charlotte a lot, completes the second-half
- 51:29of his Dean a lot. Here I mean.
- 51:31So if you. If he completes the second-half,
- 51:33he's not going to have time to come here anymore, La, La, la.
- 51:36That's true. Yeah, Charlotte, someone who
- 51:38allows. You guys are here after 10 years
- 51:40of marriage, not the first year they'll take a pause for a
- 51:43couple. Yeah.
- 51:43Charlotte. Charlotte.
- 51:44Pray for him, pray for him. All the unmarried get married.
- 51:47I don't know how you guys did, how your wives, you guys.
- 51:51Have the Mugler bro wait till they sleep at the weekend.
- 51:54You know to to be honest, shower to them.
- 51:56Yeah, shower for the. Patients they.
- 51:57Have VP as well. The patients, I think I always
- 52:00tell my probably most of my thought was to her.
- 52:03I'm more. For some SO patient.
- 52:05On how wives our kids. All the travel, more work we do
- 52:08in Shalla. You know, I felt so bad today I
- 52:12was leaving the house. Usually I don't like to film
- 52:15early. Today I left the house before my
- 52:16kids slept and it broke my heart.
- 52:19How about where you going? I'm going to studio.
- 52:21Oh, OK. Do you know what I mean?
- 52:24It's that feeling is like. It's hard.
- 52:27I tried to wake up in the mornings before my door wakes
- 52:29up, so I don't see that. No way.
- 52:31Yeah, even I don't mean work ID. But I know.
- 52:33Voila, I know. In Charlotte, they grew up to be
- 52:35like us in Charlotte. Charlotte, pray.
- 52:37Charlotte they learn, they Charlotte, they see us, and they
- 52:40get inspired by the work that we do the same way.
- 52:44You know, just a quick note, I when I first had my daughter
- 52:47Elua Fatima, I remember I was watching a video for speaker.
- 52:51He was like, whenever you pray, show some emotion in front of
- 52:54your kids. So they know how attached you
- 52:56are to to a loss of family to island, to always plead to a
- 53:00loss of panel to island. So they on Subhanallah, my
- 53:02daughter's two now whenever she prays, I see her, she's at
- 53:05kitchen train quench and you're a lot lesser.
- 53:08That's fair. This is our 'cause we we love
- 53:11Mama. Same for our parents, because of
- 53:14of their weeping and their and their mourning sons and Shallah.
- 53:17I love Protector and Shallah. I think I dragged on too much.
- 53:20No, no, no. You've opened the kind of worms
- 53:22I want to continue. You can see that timer flashing.
- 53:26Guys, Salah, we will see you next week in these coming days
- 53:29gone. Sorry, no, I was just, I thought
- 53:31you were going to say my Salaam, but I was going to talk about

- 54:06for $1.00. That's less than 1 LB.

- 54:10heater. Mama Hussein who died thirsty on
- 54:13the day of 60 cups of water for one pound, $1.00, Not even a
- 54:18pound. What a bargain, Subhanallah,
- 54:20honestly. So go guys, goes and support.
