Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Thank you, Michael Lane crack and falling to one the
- 0:05Speaker 1: other night to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a game
- 0:07Speaker 1: in which, once again, defensively, the structure was there. You
- 0:10Speaker 1: said in your postgame press conference that you'd like to
- 0:13Speaker 1: see more offense generated. Just take us through another strong
- 0:18Speaker 1: defensive performance that ultimately ended up in one point against
- 0:21Speaker 1: the Jackets.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it was a good hockey game. You know.
- 0:26Speaker 2: We we did generate some things. We generated a lot
- 0:30Speaker 2: of shot attempts and have the last three games, you know,
- 0:35Speaker 2: but the one thing that we're you know, one thing
- 0:38Speaker 2: we're not doing, or the one thing we're noticing is
- 0:40Speaker 2: we're you know, and I say fraction to the seconds,
- 0:42Speaker 2: and I really do mean that, you know, tenth of
- 0:45Speaker 2: a second or you know, twentieth of a second, and
- 0:48Speaker 2: all of a sudden, you know, they get a stick
- 0:50Speaker 2: on the puck. And we've had the attempts, but I think,
- 0:54Speaker 2: you know, in the last three games, we probably had
- 0:57Speaker 2: forty eight percent of those shot attempts actually reached net.
- 1:00Speaker 2: So you certainly decrease your chances of scoring a goal
- 1:05Speaker 2: or if the fuck doesn't go on the net. My
- 1:07Speaker 2: dad told me when I was five years old Son
- 1:09Speaker 2: hit the net.
- 1:11Speaker 1: One word that's kind of been thrown around the last
- 1:13Speaker 1: few days in the locker room abounks players has just
- 1:16Speaker 1: been simplifying, whether that's simplifying their individual game, simplifying the
- 1:20Speaker 1: offensive approach. From your perspective, how do you go about
- 1:25Speaker 1: generating more offense? Is it as easy as just simplifying?
- 1:28Speaker 1: Is it as easy as just throwing more shots on net?
- 1:31Speaker 1: What have you seen the last few games for Seattle?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it can be. You know if I
- 1:36Speaker 2: if I didn't think we were getting into positions to shoot,
- 1:40Speaker 2: then I'd be really concerned. But I think we're getting
- 1:43Speaker 2: into those positions and then either a not shooting quick
- 1:46Speaker 2: enough or be looking for something better differring, so you know,
- 1:52Speaker 2: they hit it bang on. Simplify and simplify means put
- 1:55Speaker 2: pucks to the net when you get an opportunity, because
- 1:57Speaker 2: there's chances to do it.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Last few games, you've switched up some lines every now
- 2:01Speaker 1: and again, and last time we saw Shane right move
- 2:03Speaker 1: over to the wing. We saw Berkeley Catton back in
- 2:05Speaker 1: the middle. A two part question here, What did you
- 2:08Speaker 1: make of that line, the third line in particular, and
- 2:10Speaker 1: how have you liked Berkeley Katton's progression now through eleven
- 2:13Speaker 1: games in his career.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought the line was pretty good, you know,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I thought they generated some stuff early on in the game,
- 2:23Speaker 2: you know, and for me, just the the continual progression
- 2:29Speaker 2: of what does it look like, you know, defensively, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 2: what are our reads coming back into Arizone. It's nice
- 2:36Speaker 2: to have a line that can generate offense. We also
- 2:40Speaker 2: have to be responsible defensively, and they were certainly progressing
- 2:43Speaker 2: in that in that manner.
- 2:45Speaker 1: We saw Joey d'cord, we saw Freddie gadrou back on
- 2:48Speaker 1: the ice the last couple of days. How encouraged are
- 2:51Speaker 1: you by their progress? And can you share any updates
- 2:54Speaker 1: about maybe when they would return, Are they going to
- 2:57Speaker 1: be coming on the up becoming road trip for Seattle?
- 2:59Speaker 1: What can you share about that?
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Freddy's Freddy's getting close, really close. So that's really
- 3:05Speaker 2: a positive. Joey. We don't have any updates on Joey's
- 3:09Speaker 2: day to day.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Last time you played Winnipeg through nothing shut out in
- 3:12Speaker 1: their building. They've got a really strong, solid forward group.
- 3:16Speaker 1: What can we expect out of the Jets here this evening?
- 3:19Speaker 2: A really good hockey team, you know, two world class forwards,
- 3:25Speaker 2: unbelievable complementary group with them. They've got Profetti back, a
- 3:30Speaker 2: great young player, and Adam Lowry is back is our
- 3:33Speaker 2: third line center. So it's a deep team. It's an
- 3:38Speaker 2: experienced team, a veteran team, and they they will challenge
- 3:44Speaker 2: us around the NetFront in our own zone.
- 3:47Speaker 1: How can you combat that here tonight? Knowing that again,
- 3:50Speaker 1: trying to get more shots so than at trying to
- 3:52Speaker 1: beat a golten or in Cotter Hellibook. What's going to
- 3:54Speaker 1: be that game plan tonight for Seattle.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Well, you're not gonna beat Connor Hellibook unless you get
- 3:58Speaker 2: in front of them. And now you got to create
- 4:01Speaker 2: some some seconds. I guess if you look at the
- 4:03Speaker 2: winning goal last time I played them with Jayden Schwartz,
- 4:05Speaker 2: it was just a shot in from the from the
- 4:08Speaker 2: half wall by Shane Wright that wasn't even my opinion,
- 4:11Speaker 2: considered to be a chance. But what it did is
- 4:14Speaker 2: it created a rebound in a second chance, which was
- 4:16Speaker 2: an a chance, so you know, and we had traffic
- 4:20Speaker 2: in front of the net while it was going on,
- 4:22Speaker 2: so you know, you have to get in front of
- 4:23Speaker 2: him if he sees it he's gonna stop it. Okay,
- 4:26Speaker 2: all right,
