Mega Edition: Alan Dershowitz And The Many Epstein Related Lawsuits (10/4/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

0:00
Speaker 1: We have an article from Deadline. And the headline is...
0:04
Speaker 1: This article was authored by Dominic Patton. And again, with Dershowitz,
0:07
Speaker 1: it's always these splashy-ass headlines, right? $ 80 million defamation suit. Bitch!
0:30
Speaker 1: You should pay the girls from Florida $ 80 million each
0:34
Speaker 1: for the way you defamed them with your buddy Lefkowitz,
0:37
Speaker 1: with your pal Ken Starr. I mean, who do these
0:40
Speaker 1: people think they are? It's amazing that these people truly
0:47
Speaker 1: believe that nobody's paying attention. And I guess, you know,
0:50
Speaker 1: for so long, nobody was paying attention. So they got
0:54
Speaker 1: comfortable in their narrative. They got comfortable in nobody poking
0:58
Speaker 1: holes in their story. And now that people have come
1:01
Speaker 1: forward and have taken an interest in this case and
1:04
Speaker 1: have looked at things with a close eye and seen
1:07
Speaker 1: obviously shit is worse than ever expected. Dershowitz don't dig it.
1:16
Speaker 1: His friends don't dig it. The narrative is not theirs
1:18
Speaker 1: anymore to mold. The narrative is not theirs anymore to control.
1:25
Speaker 1: And that is the biggest fear these people have. is
1:29
Speaker 1: not being in control of the narrative. The messy legal
1:35
Speaker 1: battle over Netflix's Jeffrey Epstein Filthy Rich docuseries has now
1:39
Speaker 1: gotten down and dirty. In a flurry of filings Monday,
1:44
Speaker 1: the streamer-director-showrunner Lisa Bryant, executive producer Joe Berlinger, and producers
1:50
Speaker 1: Radical Media, LLC, and Leroy & Morton Productions, LLC, all
1:56
Speaker 1: denied Alan Dershowitz's claims of defamation and more, made in
2:00
Speaker 1: May this year, when he said he was hoodwinked into
2:03
Speaker 1: appearing in the High Profile series in 2019. So right
2:08
Speaker 1: off the bat, there's some issues there, right? He was hoodwinked?
2:10
Speaker 1: I thought you were the smartest man in the room,
2:13
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz. I thought you were just so much smarter
2:17
Speaker 1: than everybody else, Mr. I Kept My Underpants On. Oh yeah,
2:21
Speaker 1: I was down at Zorro Ranch only for an hour
2:23
Speaker 1: one time. So what do you mean you were hoodwinked?
2:28
Speaker 1: So you're stupid is what you're saying? You're admitting that
2:31
Speaker 1: you're a dumbass? You're admitting that you're a jackass of
2:34
Speaker 1: epic proportions? Is that what you're admitting, Mr. Dirty Dersh?
2:39
Speaker 1: Because it sure sounds like what you're admitting to me here,
2:41
Speaker 1: that you're incompetent. Oh, I'm just a doddering old fool.
2:46
Speaker 1: I had no idea what the Netflix series was going
2:49
Speaker 1: to be about. Give me a break already, okay? What
2:54
Speaker 1: happened was... He thought he was going to be able
2:57
Speaker 1: to dominate the narrative. He thought he'd be able to
2:59
Speaker 1: flex on Lisa Bryant. He thought he'd be able to
3:02
Speaker 1: control things over at Netflix. And he was sorely mistaken.
3:07
Speaker 1: His apple cart overturned. His plans screwed up. And now
3:14
Speaker 1: somebody has to pay because I am Alan Dershowitz. That's
3:18
Speaker 1: how this guy thinks. You know what I mean? He's
3:20
Speaker 1: one of them dudes. But in reality... The boomerang effect
3:25
Speaker 1: is on its way. Oh, he fired off his lawsuit.
3:28
Speaker 1: Looking like a big guy, right? 80 million for defamation. Well,
3:31
Speaker 1: now the boomerang effect has taken place. And the countersuit
3:35
Speaker 1: has come. And, like usual, Alan Dershowitz is looking like
3:41
Speaker 1: a douche. In very similar language from their mutual attorneys
3:47
Speaker 1: at Palm Beach Shulman Fugate PLLC... and NYC's Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP,
3:55
Speaker 1: they all also denied there was any special deal to
3:58
Speaker 1: show Dershowitz's so-called materials, or evidence, of his non-involvement with
4:04
Speaker 1: then-teenager Virginia Roberts as they looked at the widely publicized
4:09
Speaker 1: allegations that he had sex with a minor groomed by
4:12
Speaker 1: the now mysteriously dead convicted sex offender. Oh, well, all
4:18
Speaker 1: this evidence that dirty Dersh is always talking about Have
4:21
Speaker 1: any of you ever seen any of it? Has he
4:23
Speaker 1: produced any of it? Has he put any of it
4:26
Speaker 1: out there in the atmosphere? Oh, I didn't think so
4:30
Speaker 1: because I'm totally not hip to it. If there's some
4:32
Speaker 1: evidence out there that proves that Dirty Dersh wasn't involved
4:36
Speaker 1: in any of this, let's see it. He's another one
4:39
Speaker 1: of these people always talking big about evidence this, evidence that.
4:43
Speaker 1: You have no evidence for anything, okay? Okay? All that's
4:49
Speaker 1: evident from all of this is that you're an epic jackass.
4:57
Speaker 1: And literally, flipping the script, there's more. Netflix and the
5:02
Speaker 1: other defendants have now become the plaintiffs against the reversal
5:05
Speaker 1: of Fortune Lawyer in countersuits of their own. Slapping down
5:10
Speaker 1: Dershowitz with their anti-slap moves, the filthy rich gang hasn't
5:15
Speaker 1: named any specific sum they're looking for out of the
5:18
Speaker 1: Harvard professor, but we do know they ain't looking for
5:21
Speaker 1: a few bucks and a bus token, if you know
5:23
Speaker 1: what I mean. And that's for sure, that encaptures it, right?
5:27
Speaker 1: They're definitely not going to be looking for just a
5:30
Speaker 1: couple of cents here. Old boy started something. See, you know,
5:35
Speaker 1: it's one of my favorite sayings. People have to fuck
5:38
Speaker 1: around and find out to learn. And when I say people,
5:42
Speaker 1: I'm people for the most part, right? When I was younger,
5:45
Speaker 1: my mom would say, hey, don't touch that. It's hot. Oh,
5:47
Speaker 1: I had to touch that shit. Now you got somebody
5:51
Speaker 1: like Dershowitz who's never been told no in his whole
5:53
Speaker 1: entire life. Thinks he's going to get away with just
5:57
Speaker 1: firing off this wacky ass ridiculous lawsuit against Netflix and
6:02
Speaker 1: not get any boomerang slapback. He was wrong. And one
6:07
Speaker 1: thing I will say about the so-called elite when it
6:10
Speaker 1: comes to the Epstein case is there's been a lot
6:13
Speaker 1: of missteps as of late. In the past year or so,
6:17
Speaker 1: if you really pay attention, there has been a lot
6:19
Speaker 1: of missteps. And you can see the writing on the wall.
6:22
Speaker 1: I mean, who would have thought a couple of years
6:24
Speaker 1: ago that Glenn Dubin, Les Wexner, all of these people,
6:30
Speaker 1: Prince Andrew, would have to step down from their public positions?
6:35
Speaker 1: If you would have told me a few years ago
6:36
Speaker 1: that Les Wexner would have given up his stake in
6:39
Speaker 1: both companies, I would have told you you were crazy.
6:41
Speaker 1: There's no way that a scumbag like that would ever
6:44
Speaker 1: cede power. But he did. Now, of course, it's not enough, right?
6:50
Speaker 1: But it's a start. And what these elite definitely need
6:55
Speaker 1: to know, these so-called elite, is that they don't control
6:58
Speaker 1: the narrative anymore. And the legacy media is no longer
7:02
Speaker 1: the only place where people are getting news or information. See,
7:07
Speaker 1: here's the thing. These legacy media outlets can run around
7:10
Speaker 1: and talk about all they want about how, oh, well,
7:13
Speaker 1: we're the provider of news. We bring you the sourced news.
7:18
Speaker 1: We bring you the best news. We bring you the
7:21
Speaker 1: true news. When in reality, all you got to do
7:24
Speaker 1: is flip that shit on And then do a little
7:27
Speaker 1: research and you see that everything's skewered, everything's bullshitted, everything's garbage.
7:32
Speaker 1: So why would anyone trust that stuff? So people look
7:36
Speaker 1: for other sources of news and people find them wherever
7:39
Speaker 1: they find them. And sometimes, you know, it's not a
7:46
Speaker 1: good situation, right, for the legacy media. So you could
7:49
Speaker 1: see why they'd be against it. They want those clicks.
7:52
Speaker 1: They want that ad revenue. And people are getting tired
7:57
Speaker 1: of it. People are tired of being lied to. People
7:59
Speaker 1: are tired of turning on the TV and seeing the
8:01
Speaker 1: same shit over and over and over again, as if
8:03
Speaker 1: there are no other problems around the world or in
8:06
Speaker 1: this country. And people are looking for other means to
8:12
Speaker 1: get that news. People are looking for other means to
8:14
Speaker 1: get that information. And thankfully, we live in a society
8:17
Speaker 1: where that's possible. Netflix is entitled to compensatory damages and
8:26
Speaker 1: punitive damages because Dershowitz commenced this action for the purpose,
8:31
Speaker 1: and indeed for the sole purpose, of harassing, intimidating, punishing,
8:37
Speaker 1: or otherwise maliciously inhibiting Netflix's free exercise of speech and petition,
8:43
Speaker 1: says a counterclaim filed today in federal court in Florida,
8:47
Speaker 1: where Dershowitz lives. So you can click on the filing
8:51
Speaker 1: as well here in the article. Obviously, the article will
8:54
Speaker 1: be posted in the description box, so you can just
8:56
Speaker 1: check it out there as well. But it's funny to
9:01
Speaker 1: watch guys like Dershowitz maneuver, right? Especially when you see
9:04
Speaker 1: their moves coming five miles away. They have a playbook
9:08
Speaker 1: they stick to at this point. It's like the stubborn
9:10
Speaker 1: football coach, how I always talk about the retread stubborn
9:13
Speaker 1: football coach, who goes back to the playbook no matter what. Look,
9:17
Speaker 1: I run the eye for him. That's all I run. Okay, fine,
9:20
Speaker 1: even though you're losing every single game, stick to your playbook.
9:24
Speaker 1: The best coaches, the best managers, the greatest minds are
9:29
Speaker 1: able to adjust on the fly. They take the evidence
9:32
Speaker 1: as it comes, they process it, and then they move
9:35
Speaker 1: on with their lives. They level up. They decide what
9:37
Speaker 1: they're going to do next. They don't just keep going
9:41
Speaker 1: back to the same playbook over and over and over again,
9:44
Speaker 1: hoping it works. The Bryan-directed docuseries focused on tales from
9:50
Speaker 1: survivors of abuse at the hands of Epstein, who used
9:53
Speaker 1: his wealth, power, and high-powered connections to carry out his abuses.
9:58
Speaker 1: Having slipped through the legal system, on more than one
10:01
Speaker 1: occasion but now with the personal affairs of his friends
10:04
Speaker 1: about to be revealed epstein apparently killed himself in a
10:08
Speaker 1: new york city jail in 2019 allegedly right Dershowitz was
10:16
Speaker 1: interviewed for the series both because, as he alleges, he
10:19
Speaker 1: was part of a team defending Epstein from sex crimes
10:22
Speaker 1: involving underage girls, and because he was personally dragged into
10:26
Speaker 1: Epstein's story when one of Epstein's survivors, Virginia Roberts, accused
10:31
Speaker 1: Dershowitz of sexual assault in public court filings, notes the
10:35
Speaker 1: counterclaim section from Radical Media LLC and Leroy and Morton
10:40
Speaker 1: Productions LLC and the other defendants, now plaintiffs. Yeah, look,
10:46
Speaker 1: it's all public record, right? The stuff that's being discussed here,
10:49
Speaker 1: the stuff that's being discussed in the documentaries, that's all
10:53
Speaker 1: stuff of record. That's why it cracks me up when
10:56
Speaker 1: you have guys like Dershowitz here thinking that they're going
11:01
Speaker 1: to be able to file lawsuits. This is all public knowledge.
11:07
Speaker 1: This is all stuff that's been out there. It's just
11:09
Speaker 1: curated now and put into order and made digestible. And again...
11:15
Speaker 1: He can't stand it because previously to this, the media
11:18
Speaker 1: wouldn't do it, right? The media scared shitless of guys
11:21
Speaker 1: like Alan Dershowitz. They never want to take him on.
11:25
Speaker 1: Look at what Graydon Carter did with Jeffrey Epps. Filthy
11:28
Speaker 1: Rich was never intended to and did not, in fact,
11:31
Speaker 1: focus on Dershowitz or provide a platform for a one-sided
11:36
Speaker 1: exoneration of him, they add. But the series did report
11:39
Speaker 1: on the ongoing litigation between Dershowitz and Roberts and repeating
11:43
Speaker 1: claims frequently made by both parties in public court filings
11:47
Speaker 1: over the course of the last seven years. The gang
11:50
Speaker 1: of producers and the streamer note of the four-parter. And
11:54
Speaker 1: that's a fact. And I think that's a solid defense
11:57
Speaker 1: that they're using. It's a winning defense, in my opinion.
12:00
Speaker 1: When you can argue that fact, that it's all of
12:02
Speaker 1: public note, public knowledge, and we were just putting it
12:05
Speaker 1: together in a documentary, then it's kind of hard for
12:08
Speaker 1: any judge to rule against that, right? And again... What
12:12
Speaker 1: this comes down to, I'm convinced of it, is simply
12:15
Speaker 1: Dershowitz trying to flex. Dershowitz trying to be tough guy,
12:18
Speaker 1: trying to dominate the conversation. And for so long they
12:22
Speaker 1: were able to get away with that, that it's just
12:24
Speaker 1: his MO, his go-to shtick. But I think he's found
12:29
Speaker 1: himself in the thornbush this time. And I think it's
12:32
Speaker 1: going to come back to really slap him. Accordingly. The
12:38
Speaker 1: series reporting on Dershowitz is absolutely privileged under New York
12:43
Speaker 1: civil rights law 74. A fact that Dershowitz, a self-professed
12:48
Speaker 1: expert on first amendment freedoms, knew long before filing his lawsuit.
12:53
Speaker 1: And again, that's the thing with Dershowitz that always has
12:55
Speaker 1: made me mental too. This guy's, oh, I'm for freedom
12:59
Speaker 1: of speech. Everyone should be able to have freedom of speech.
13:01
Speaker 1: And I agree with that, right? Everyone should be able
13:04
Speaker 1: to say whatever the hell they want. I mean, come on,
13:06
Speaker 1: let's be, let's be real. The more wild and crackpot
13:11
Speaker 1: somebody is, it's better to have that in the public
13:14
Speaker 1: sphere so we can shout it down so it doesn't
13:17
Speaker 1: go hide in corners and manifest into something even more dangerous.
13:21
Speaker 1: But Dershowitz, he doesn't really believe in freedom of speech.
13:24
Speaker 1: He believes in freedom of speech when it's, you know,
13:27
Speaker 1: beneficial to him. Me, I'm for freedom of speech no
13:31
Speaker 1: matter what. And Dirty Dersh has been in a position
13:35
Speaker 1: for how long? And what has he really done to
13:39
Speaker 1: change the system? What has he done to help people
13:42
Speaker 1: who have been wrongfully convicted? Not much. The counterclaims make
13:52
Speaker 1: sure to mention that the cable news friendly Dershowitz was
13:55
Speaker 1: threatening legal action almost from the start of his participation
13:59
Speaker 1: in Filthy Rich, even after he signed a fairly comprehensive release.
14:03
Speaker 1: You know, it's funny, and they even say it in
14:05
Speaker 1: this article, the cable-friendly news Dershowitz. And what they mean
14:10
Speaker 1: by that is the legacy news, the legacy media. He's
14:13
Speaker 1: friendly to them because they're all parasites working together in
14:16
Speaker 1: a symbiotic relationship to screw the rest of us out
14:20
Speaker 1: of knowing what the hell is going on. And then
14:23
Speaker 1: they cry, oh, it's a sob story that there's a
14:26
Speaker 1: space for ridiculousness like Q to pop up. Well, you've
14:31
Speaker 1: been lying to people for so long, what do you
14:32
Speaker 1: expect is going to happen, legacy media jerk-offs? Nevertheless, Dershowitz
14:43
Speaker 1: tried to manipulate his interaction with the filthy rich filmmakers
14:47
Speaker 1: so that he could control how they reported on his
14:49
Speaker 1: litigation with Roberts, the counterclaim explains of the docuseries, which
14:54
Speaker 1: launched on May 27, 2020. Even before Filthy Rich was released,
15:00
Speaker 1: Dershowitz made clear that he would sue over his betrayal
15:03
Speaker 1: in the series unless his story was told in the
15:06
Speaker 1: exact manner he wanted. And when he realized that Filthy
15:11
Speaker 1: Rich would not be used as a vehicle to tell
15:13
Speaker 1: only his side of the story, he brought this current
15:17
Speaker 1: lawsuit seeking to suppress the Leroy defendants' speech on matters
15:21
Speaker 1: of public concern. And again, that's exactly what it was. Look,
15:26
Speaker 1: we're not stupid. Nobody's stupid here. Especially you folks following
15:29
Speaker 1: this case. You're certainly not stupid. You know the deal.
15:32
Speaker 1: This is all about bullying. All about not wanting the
15:37
Speaker 1: story to get out there to the mass public. Or,
15:43
Speaker 1: as Netflix themselves put it in their filing today, Filthy
15:47
Speaker 1: Rich accurately reported on the ongoing Roberts litigation and Roberts'
15:52
Speaker 1: other public court filings. As part of this reporting, the
15:55
Speaker 1: series showed interviews with both Dershowitz and Roberts, referred to
16:00
Speaker 1: the litigation between them, showed images of filings from the litigation,
16:05
Speaker 1: and enumerated the positions of both Roberts and Dershowitz. Yup.
16:11
Speaker 1: It's going to get very messy. And I don't doubt that.
16:16
Speaker 1: Because I don't think Netflix is going to back down here.
16:18
Speaker 1: I think Netflix feels like they're in the right. I
16:20
Speaker 1: agree with them. This is of all public matter. This
16:23
Speaker 1: is You know, nobody's delving into your life here, Mr. Volleyballer.
16:27
Speaker 1: You're the one who hung out with Jeffrey Epstein. You're
16:29
Speaker 1: the one who broke bread with Jeffrey Epstein. I don't
16:32
Speaker 1: even blame you for being his lawyer. You have enough
16:34
Speaker 1: sins besides that hanging out with him that we can
16:36
Speaker 1: leave that one out. Because at the end of the day,
16:39
Speaker 1: everybody deserves to be defended in a court of law.
16:42
Speaker 1: That's the American system. Even the scummiest amongst us, okay?
16:46
Speaker 1: So I don't fault him for the law thing. My
16:48
Speaker 1: problem is your personal behavior. My problem is what Virginia
16:54
Speaker 1: alleges occurred. And my friend, Dirty Dersh, so far, the
17:03
Speaker 1: stuff that Virginia has talked about, the facts that she
17:06
Speaker 1: has brought to the table, have been pretty damn convincing.
17:12
Speaker 1: And on the flip side of that, what people like
17:15
Speaker 1: Dershowitz and Prince Andrew and their couple of supporters have
17:18
Speaker 1: brought to the table has been un-gotts. It's been garbage.
17:23
Speaker 1: It's been nothing. So as we move forward with this
17:30
Speaker 1: Netflix case, you better believe I'm excited to see what
17:34
Speaker 1: comes in Discovery. And I'm really interested to see just
17:41
Speaker 1: how poisonous this could become between the two. Because Netflix,
17:48
Speaker 1: it doesn't look like they're going to back down. And
17:50
Speaker 1: you know the naked volleyballer is going to have to
17:53
Speaker 1: have his fat yap running. So we'll see where it goes.
17:57
Speaker 1: But once again, another layer in the many-layered story of
18:02
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein and the survivor's search for justice. If you'd
18:11
Speaker 1: like to contact me, you can do that at bobbycapucci

Speaker 1: at protonmail.com. That's B-O-B-B-Y-C-A-P-U-C-C-I at protonmail.com. You can also find

18:28
Speaker 1: links that go with this episode can be found in
18:30
Speaker 1: the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome back to
18:35
Speaker 1: the Epstein Chronicles. Last evening... I was offered an invitation
18:42
Speaker 1: to appear on NewsNation on Friday on the Leland Vittert Show. Well,
18:47
Speaker 1: I accepted their invitation, and as I'm going through the
18:50
Speaker 1: news today, wouldn't you know, there's an article about Alan
18:54
Speaker 1: Dershowitz and his appearance on the same show. So I
18:58
Speaker 1: figured we'd dive into this article and see what Alan
19:01
Speaker 1: Dershowitz has to say about this list of associates being released.
19:06
Speaker 1: And as far as my appearance goes on the program,
19:08
Speaker 1: It looks like his show kicks off at 7 p.m.
19:12
Speaker 1: Eastern Standard Time on News Nation, but I don't really
19:15
Speaker 1: watch cable news, so I'm not too familiar with him
19:18
Speaker 1: or his show. But I do know this, if they're
19:21
Speaker 1: getting Alan Dershowitz's perspective, they certainly need to have a
19:24
Speaker 1: different perspective as well. And me and my big mouth
19:27
Speaker 1: and my beard, we're happy to provide that perspective. The
19:31
Speaker 1: question is, are they ready for that smoke? Today's article
19:34
Speaker 1: was published by Mediaite and the headline, Alan Dershowitz insists
19:39
Speaker 1: associates on Jeffrey Epstein's list shouldn't be blamed. None of
19:43
Speaker 1: us knew about his private life. And this is always
19:45
Speaker 1: the excuse, right? We had no idea what was going on.
19:49
Speaker 1: The smartest man in the world. the room, but I
19:50
Speaker 1: had no idea what Jeffrey Epstein was up to. Which
19:54
Speaker 1: is an outright lie. Dude was his lawyer. He knew
19:57
Speaker 1: exactly what Epstein was up to. And it was Dershowitz, remember,
20:00
Speaker 1: with Ken Starr and Lefkowitz and the rest of them
20:03
Speaker 1: that built that NPA. So what about those 30 girls?
20:07
Speaker 1: What about those countless girls? Down in Palm Beach, you
20:10
Speaker 1: were abused. Should we just shrug our shoulders and be like,
20:13
Speaker 1: you know what, Dershowitz, good job, man. You're a hell
20:16
Speaker 1: of a guy. Sorry, I'm not going to say that. Now, look,
20:19
Speaker 1: I get it. It's his job. His job is to
20:21
Speaker 1: get Jeffrey Epstein off. So my real anger, the real
20:25
Speaker 1: rage that I have is with the prosecutors. They didn't
20:29
Speaker 1: do their job. Dershowitz, I know people don't want to
20:31
Speaker 1: hear this. The guy did his job. It's like a
20:34
Speaker 1: gut punch to have to say it, but it's the truth.
20:37
Speaker 1: And as you all know, I call the balls and
20:39
Speaker 1: strikes for what they are here. I don't have any faves,
20:42
Speaker 1: like Nancy Pelosi's daughter. In fact, I think the whole
20:45
Speaker 1: entire system's rotten from top to bottom. So you're never
20:48
Speaker 1: going to hear me out here carrying water for any
20:50
Speaker 1: of these politicians, no matter what letters in front of
20:54
Speaker 1: their name. None of them are making my life better.
20:57
Speaker 1: In fact, it's the opposite. And while I think that
21:00
Speaker 1: Dershowitz and Epstein's whole entire legal team were back channeling
21:04
Speaker 1: the whole time with the Department of Justice, with Mukasey.
21:08
Speaker 1: At the end of the day, it was up to
21:09
Speaker 1: the DOJ to put Jeffrey Epstein behind bars. It was
21:13
Speaker 1: up to Alan Dershowitz to try and defend him. Today's
21:17
Speaker 1: article was authored by Charlie Nash. Former Harvard Law School
21:21
Speaker 1: professor Alan Dershowitz defended the former associates of deceased serial
21:25
Speaker 1: sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Tuesday and claimed none of
21:30
Speaker 1: us knew about his private life that he kept so secret.
21:33
Speaker 1: Which is just... I mean, look, you can't really say
21:36
Speaker 1: he's lying. How do you prove it? But we all know.
21:39
Speaker 1: We all know that these people, the smartest men in
21:41
Speaker 1: the room, they all knew what was going on. You
21:44
Speaker 1: show up at old boy's house and there's all these
21:46
Speaker 1: girls running around scantily clad, young, hot. Then you take
21:50
Speaker 1: a look at egg dick Epstein... what you think, old
21:53
Speaker 1: boys Casanova? He's running around here getting all kinds of
21:57
Speaker 1: girls just on merit because he's a good looking cat,
22:01
Speaker 1: because he has big biceps. Maybe it's just my cynical nature,
22:05
Speaker 1: but if I walk into somebody's house and there's all
22:07
Speaker 1: this weird shit as far as decor and then all
22:10
Speaker 1: these young girls running around that look like they could
22:13
Speaker 1: be in their teens, you better believe I'm going to
22:15
Speaker 1: have some questions and you better have some good answers
22:18
Speaker 1: because if not, we're probably going to have a big problem.
22:21
Speaker 1: And as far as nobody knowing what was going on,
22:24
Speaker 1: I just don't believe it. I'm sorry. I don't believe it.
22:27
Speaker 1: You talk to people from back around that time. Listen
22:30
Speaker 1: to Maria Farmer. Listen to some of the people that
22:32
Speaker 1: were there early on. And they tell you everything you
22:36
Speaker 1: need to know about this scumbag and about all the
22:39
Speaker 1: dirt bags that were going to his house. On the
22:42
Speaker 1: impending release of a list of Epstein associates, Dershowitz told
22:45
Speaker 1: News Nation's anchor Leland Vittert, You could judge them for
22:49
Speaker 1: having shown bad judgment, but you can't conclude that any
22:52
Speaker 1: accusations against them are true without hearing the evidence. That's
22:56
Speaker 1: why we're going through the court documents. Unlike all these
22:59
Speaker 1: other people that populate the Epstein space, we bring receipts.
23:03
Speaker 1: I don't just show up talking shit. Well, not about
23:05
Speaker 1: this topic. We're talking about football, maybe. Talking about, you know,
23:09
Speaker 1: something that's not serious. All I do is talk shit. Here,
23:13
Speaker 1: this is deathly serious. And if you think we're showing
23:16
Speaker 1: up here with salaciousness and a bunch of bullshit that
23:18
Speaker 1: I can't prove or that there's no documents pointing to,
23:22
Speaker 1: you're in the wrong place. That's not happening here. That's
23:25
Speaker 1: never happened here. Everything we do... is done with receipts.
23:30
Speaker 1: And furthermore, it's real sly of Alan Dershowitz to say that,
23:35
Speaker 1: because he knows that none of this is ever going
23:37
Speaker 1: to be challenged in a courtroom. He knows that the
23:39
Speaker 1: government has no desire to make this a RICO case,
23:43
Speaker 1: and if they did, how much do you want to
23:45
Speaker 1: bet that Dershowitz and all of these other folks would
23:48
Speaker 1: be singing a different tune? Because remember, if there's any
23:51
Speaker 1: sort of financial malfeasance, and Epstein's in business with you,
23:55
Speaker 1: and you receive $ 1 in ill-gotten gains, you're now part
23:58
Speaker 1: of the conspiracy, and all of your money can be
24:01
Speaker 1: frozen as well. And if you were wondering why they
24:04
Speaker 1: didn't use Rico here, well, do I have to paint
24:07
Speaker 1: the picture for you any more than I already have?
24:10
Speaker 1: The reason I wanted everything put out, and I don't
24:13
Speaker 1: think the judge put everything out, I think she was
24:15
Speaker 1: selective in what she put out, and that's unfair. I
24:18
Speaker 1: want everything out. Every document, every piece of paper, have
24:22
Speaker 1: truths or lies, and I wanted them out for personal
24:25
Speaker 1: reasons because I know that they would prove what I've
24:27
Speaker 1: said from day one, that I did nothing wrong. And
24:30
Speaker 1: the woman who accused me later admitted that she may
24:33
Speaker 1: have misidentified me. Notice the word may, right? Confused me
24:37
Speaker 1: with someone else. so I wanted everything out right from
24:40
Speaker 1: the beginning because I have nothing to hide. Well, yeah,
24:42
Speaker 1: a guy sitting around in Jeffrey Epstein's living room in
24:45
Speaker 1: his underpants getting a massage usually has nothing to hide, right? Right?
24:51
Speaker 1: There are some people who may be ashamed of the
24:53
Speaker 1: fact that they hung out with Epstein, but remember, a
24:55
Speaker 1: lot of people hung out with Epstein before he was convicted. Like,
24:59
Speaker 1: that makes it okay. Breaking news, Alan Dershowitz, that just
25:02
Speaker 1: makes all of you disgusting. You, all your buddies, everybody
25:06
Speaker 1: in high society New York, all of you, every last
25:10
Speaker 1: one of you, okay? You're all gross. Presidents of Harvard, deans,
25:14
Speaker 1: Nobel quality scientists, he was very well thought of in
25:18
Speaker 1: the beginning. Oh, well, because all of those people who
25:21
Speaker 1: hung out with him, they're all just sterling examples of
25:24
Speaker 1: good folks, right? Breaking news, if you're palling around with
25:27
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein, you're not a good person. And let's not
25:29
Speaker 1: forget that some of those scientists, some of those Politicians
25:34
Speaker 1: are also credibly accused of assault. But, you know, fellow
25:38
Speaker 1: travelers and all. None of us knew about his private
25:42
Speaker 1: life that he kept so secret, claimed Dershowitz, who was
25:44
Speaker 1: credited with getting Epstein a sweetheart deal in 2008 for
25:48
Speaker 1: child prostitution charges. And you know how he got that, right?
25:52
Speaker 1: He used his relationships behind the scenes. That's how this
25:56
Speaker 1: always works. They reached out to Mukasey. Mukasey was the
26:00
Speaker 1: one who facilitated all of this. So all that shit
26:02
Speaker 1: you heard about Alex Acosta? Eh, kinda true. He was
26:06
Speaker 1: the middle manager. It's like when you go to Taco
26:08
Speaker 1: Bell and complain that your tacos are bad? Well, the
26:12
Speaker 1: middle manager, the guy on site, is who you're dealing with.
26:16
Speaker 1: But is he the guy that's making the decisions for
26:18
Speaker 1: the whole-ass corporation? No, he is not. Just like Alex
26:22
Speaker 1: Acosta was not the man making the decisions for the U.S. government.
26:26
Speaker 1: I can't believe that I even have to explain this
26:28
Speaker 1: to people. Asked about those on Epstein's list who have
26:31
Speaker 1: fought to keep their identity under wraps, Dershowitz said, I
26:34
Speaker 1: can understand why people would not want family members, wives,
26:37
Speaker 1: you know, any association with Jeffrey Epstein is very, very negative.
26:42
Speaker 1: Anybody who knew Epstein, whether you knew him before or after,
26:45
Speaker 1: people say, oh my god, you knew Epstein? You must
26:48
Speaker 1: have done something wrong. That doesn't necessarily follow. There are
26:52
Speaker 1: some people who may have done something wrong, but nobody
26:55
Speaker 1: should be believed. And here is where the spin comes in. Well,
26:58
Speaker 1: not everybody took part in the abuse. So how could
27:01
Speaker 1: you say that? And he's right. I've said it from
27:03
Speaker 1: the beginning. There's no allegations of Bill Clinton abusing anybody
27:08
Speaker 1: on the island. There's no real allegations of the nonsense
27:12
Speaker 1: you hear about people like Oprah or Tom Hanks. There's
27:16
Speaker 1: no truth to any of that that I've seen. But
27:19
Speaker 1: at the same time, to act like people who were
27:22
Speaker 1: hanging out with him, enabling him, had no role in
27:25
Speaker 1: what was going on, is, well, lying to people. That's
27:29
Speaker 1: what it is. And if you can't be honest about
27:31
Speaker 1: the whole entire scenario, how can I take you for
27:34
Speaker 1: someone who's honest about any of it? And that's the
27:37
Speaker 1: problem with this narrative here. The people that were assisting Epstein,
27:41
Speaker 1: as far as enabling his behavior, as far as rebuilding
27:45
Speaker 1: the facade after his first arrest. All of those people
27:49
Speaker 1: were culpable. They might not have taken part in the abuse,
27:52
Speaker 1: but they certainly helped the abuse keep going. They propagated it.
27:56
Speaker 1: And it's not even a question. It's not a doubt.
27:58
Speaker 1: And it's not a debate. Dershowitz then abruptly launched into
28:02
Speaker 1: a rant against feminism and the MeToo movement. I think,
28:06
Speaker 1: you know, of the MeToo movement now, MeToo basically says
28:09
Speaker 1: believe anybody except if they're a Jew and an Israeli,
28:12
Speaker 1: he claimed. The stories about the rapes that have been
28:15
Speaker 1: documented in Israel, the MeToo movement, no, no, no, we're
28:19
Speaker 1: not interested in that. Feminists, we're not interested in that.
28:22
Speaker 1: If it was a Jew who was raped, forget about it.
28:25
Speaker 1: Nice try, Dershy Dersh, but nobody showed up for the
28:28
Speaker 1: survivors either. There was no big Me Too movement. Nobody
28:32
Speaker 1: showed up in their little pink hats. These ladies were
28:34
Speaker 1: left on their own. So, stuff that shit. There's a
28:39
Speaker 1: lot of picking and choosing by radical feminists about who
28:41
Speaker 1: they're going to believe. It's shocking that so many feminists
28:44
Speaker 1: have refused to condemn Hamas for raping and cutting off
28:48
Speaker 1: the breasts. I mean, you know, all of this makes
28:50
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein, by comparison, my god. There is so much
28:54
Speaker 1: hypocrisy on the hard left among feminists, and maybe this
28:57
Speaker 1: will help expose that as well. On Tuesday, during a
29:01
Speaker 1: report on Epstein's associates, Hannity launched into a defense of Dershowitz,
29:05
Speaker 1: who he predicted might be on the list. Dershowitz appeared
29:08
Speaker 1: several times on Epstein's flight logs between 1998 and 2005
29:12
Speaker 1: and admitted in 2015 receiving a massage at Epstein's house. Mister,
29:18
Speaker 1: I kept my underpants on Dershey. Now look, I have
29:22
Speaker 1: no idea what happened besides that. And I've always told
29:25
Speaker 1: you folks that whatever the survivors have told us, that's
29:28
Speaker 1: what I've rolled with. Other people might want to make
29:31
Speaker 1: shit up like they were there when it happened, but
29:33
Speaker 1: I wasn't there. All I can do is go by
29:36
Speaker 1: what we have heard from the survivors and in the
29:39
Speaker 1: court documents. And if that's not salacious enough for you,
29:42
Speaker 1: maybe telenovelas are more your speed. Dershowitz also accused by
29:48
Speaker 1: Virginia Roberts of being a participant in sex trafficking before
29:51
Speaker 1: Roberts walked back on the allegations and publicly declared she
29:55
Speaker 1: may have mistaken Dershowitz for someone else. So very interesting
29:59
Speaker 1: clip of Mr. Dershowitz here. And look, at the end
30:03
Speaker 1: of the day, Virginia and him came to an agreement.
30:06
Speaker 1: So I'm not going to beat that dead horse. We
30:08
Speaker 1: have other fish to fry, as they say. But anytime Mr.
30:12
Speaker 1: Dershowitz has a comment, and it's a comment like this,
30:15
Speaker 1: talking about associates and the rest of it, well, you
30:18
Speaker 1: know it's a bit self-serving, right? He knows he's an associate,
30:22
Speaker 1: so why not come out and do some damage control?
30:25
Speaker 1: Not a bad strategy, but a strategy that is relatively transparent.
30:31
Speaker 1: All right, folks, that's going to do it for this one. Obviously,
30:34
Speaker 1: a lot more on the way. And all of the
30:37
Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
30:40
Speaker 1: the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome back to
30:44
Speaker 1: the Epstein Chronicles. Recently, we found out that Virginia Roberts
30:50
Speaker 1: and Alan Dershowitz had decided to mutually end their lawsuits
30:55
Speaker 1: against each other. And there were a lot of questions
30:58
Speaker 1: as to why that would occur, and especially considering a
31:02
Speaker 1: Virginia statement. Virginia stated that she could have misremembered or
31:07
Speaker 1: misidentified Alan Dershowitz. Now, I said in that first episode
31:13
Speaker 1: that the wording is important. I could have, I may have,
31:17
Speaker 1: there was no definitive statements. And I also said in
31:20
Speaker 1: that episode that my guess was that it was because
31:24
Speaker 1: she has been litigating this for so long that she
31:27
Speaker 1: and her family had just had enough. And now we're
31:30
Speaker 1: hearing from Virginia Roberts directly, who spoke with the Daily Beast,
31:34
Speaker 1: and who is saying pretty much that. So let's get
31:37
Speaker 1: to this article real quick, and let's see what Kate Bricklett,
31:41
Speaker 1: over at the Daily Beast, has for us. Headline? Epstein survivor.
31:49
Speaker 1: Dershowitz isn't exonerated, no matter what he says. This article
31:54
Speaker 1: was authored by Kate Bricklett. Last week, Virginia Roberts, a
31:59
Speaker 1: survivor of Jeffrey Epstein, settled her defamation suit against the financier, pedophiles,
32:05
Speaker 1: one-time friend and lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, whom she'd long accused
32:09
Speaker 1: of sexual assault. As part of the deal, Dershowitz dropped
32:13
Speaker 1: his countersuit against her and his countersuit against lawyer David Boies,
32:18
Speaker 1: who had separately sued Dershowitz for defamation. Moments after the
32:23
Speaker 1: ink was dry, the media published statements from the parties.
32:27
Speaker 1: In her remarks, Roberts said she long believed that Epstein
32:30
Speaker 1: trafficked her to Dershowitz, but she may, may, have made
32:34
Speaker 1: a mistake in identifying the Harvard professor as one of
32:38
Speaker 1: her abusers. Dershowitz wasted no time in taking a victory lap,
32:43
Speaker 1: appearing on Newsmax' Greg Kelly Reports and Fox 5's Good
32:47
Speaker 1: Day New York, and writing an op-ed in the New
32:50
Speaker 1: York Post under the headline, Exonerated, Why I Fought to
32:53
Speaker 1: Clear My Name in Jeffrey Epstein Allegation. And if you notice,
32:58
Speaker 1: I didn't read that, right? I don't really buy the whole, oh,
33:01
Speaker 1: I'm exonerated deal here, okay? What I do believe is
33:06
Speaker 1: that this was just too much, and the litigation had
33:09
Speaker 1: become too much. And at some point, your back can
33:13
Speaker 1: only carry so much of a burden. When should Virginia
33:17
Speaker 1: get some normalcy in her life? And when should she
33:20
Speaker 1: stop having to carry the burden? You know, it's a
33:23
Speaker 1: legitimate question. And it's easy for people to criticize if
33:27
Speaker 1: they're not the ones carrying that burden. But I can't imagine...
33:31
Speaker 1: All these years of litigation and people suing me and
33:35
Speaker 1: me suing them and all the other lawsuits that are
33:37
Speaker 1: going on. And remember, this wasn't going to see Alan
33:40
Speaker 1: Dershowitz go to prison or anything like that. This was
33:43
Speaker 1: a defamation suit. People disapproved of me being Jeffrey Epstein's
33:50
Speaker 1: lawyer and Donald Trump's lawyer. So a decision was made
33:53
Speaker 1: by people to frame me, Dershowitz told Kelly. And they
33:57
Speaker 1: used a young woman. And the young woman now acknowledges
34:00
Speaker 1: that she may have made a mistake. To frame you? Bro,
34:04
Speaker 1: were you or were you not at Jeffrey Epstein's house?
34:07
Speaker 1: Did you or did you not get that massage? You
34:09
Speaker 1: already said you did get the massage. Now, of course,
34:12
Speaker 1: you say you had your underpants on and nothing... ill
34:15
Speaker 1: and untowards happened, so fine, that's what you say. But
34:19
Speaker 1: to act like you're a million miles away from all
34:22
Speaker 1: of this is just absurd. Now, that might work with
34:25
Speaker 1: people who don't follow the case or who might not
34:28
Speaker 1: be hip to what's going on here, but anyone who's
34:30
Speaker 1: been following this case for even a minute understands that
34:34
Speaker 1: even if, even if, all of the stuff that Virginia
34:37
Speaker 1: said about you was wrong and she misidentified you, How
34:42
Speaker 1: do you explain being part of that disgusting sweetheart deal
34:46
Speaker 1: that Jeffrey Epstein got? How do you explain that? And
34:49
Speaker 1: I don't even want to hear about the Trump stuff.
34:52
Speaker 1: That's just easy, you know, low-hanging fruit for him to
34:55
Speaker 1: throw out there to try and bolster his case. But
34:58
Speaker 1: there's legitimate questions surrounding other aspects of your relationship with
35:02
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. There's no doubt about that. My name has
35:06
Speaker 1: now been cleared, and I can go back to defending
35:08
Speaker 1: people and being controversial for good reasons, added Dershowitz, who
35:13
Speaker 1: for years has publicly denied Roberts' claims and even accused
35:17
Speaker 1: her and her lawyers of perjury. Dershowitz walked back that
35:20
Speaker 1: accusation in his settlement statement in which he said he
35:24
Speaker 1: has come to believe that at the time she accused me,
35:27
Speaker 1: she believed what she said. So you see Dershowitz here
35:30
Speaker 1: taking his little victory lap and talking about how he's
35:32
Speaker 1: been exonerated, forgets the part about his concessions. And that's
35:38
Speaker 1: why I didn't even bother reading that op-ed that he wrote. Ridiculousness.
35:42
Speaker 1: Save the propaganda, homie. But in an exclusive statement to
35:48
Speaker 1: the Daily Beast, Roberts challenges Dershowitz's suggestions that he's been
35:52
Speaker 1: exonerated of her sexual abuse allegations. And here's where the
35:56
Speaker 1: rubber meets the road, right? Up until this point and
35:59
Speaker 1: this statement, we only had the statement to the court
36:02
Speaker 1: to go on about what Virginia was thinking or why
36:06
Speaker 1: she decided to go ahead and drop this lawsuit and
36:11
Speaker 1: have Alan Dershowitz in turn drop his. And now she's
36:15
Speaker 1: providing a little bit of context and a little bit
36:17
Speaker 1: of insight into that. I was shocked to read that
36:21
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz is claiming that our mutual dismissal of our
36:24
Speaker 1: lawsuits against each other somehow exonerated him, Robert said. The
36:29
Speaker 1: litigation was very stressful and damaging to my family and
36:33
Speaker 1: to my health. That's what I said in that first episode.
36:35
Speaker 1: And again, look, I don't have no direct line to Virginia.
36:39
Speaker 1: You know, we don't speak, you know, in DMs or
36:42
Speaker 1: anything like that. But it just made sense to me
36:44
Speaker 1: considering how rough it is in the best of times
36:49
Speaker 1: when you're litigating something. I've seen friends of mine and
36:52
Speaker 1: family members of mine in a little different of a circumstance, obviously,
36:56
Speaker 1: with it being criminal. But it really takes a toll
36:59
Speaker 1: on you. You lose weight, all of that stuff. And
37:02
Speaker 1: if you have health issues, it certainly can accelerate those
37:06
Speaker 1: health issues. So like I thought in the beginning, that
37:09
Speaker 1: seems to be the likeliest reason for this. Now, what
37:12
Speaker 1: do you have to gain, right? What's the actual gain
37:16
Speaker 1: at the end of the lawsuit with Dershowitz besides slamming
37:20
Speaker 1: the football and spiking it home and saying, look, you
37:22
Speaker 1: did this to me. Now, I'm sure that would be sweet,
37:25
Speaker 1: but you have to, you know, weigh the risk versus
37:28
Speaker 1: the reward. and the risk being here, more damage to
37:31
Speaker 1: the family, more damage to her health, and just more
37:34
Speaker 1: litigation that she feels like she doesn't need, at least
37:38
Speaker 1: according to this statement. We have endured years in which Mr.
37:42
Speaker 1: Dershowitz asserted my charges against him were a lie, made
37:46
Speaker 1: up out of whole cloth, perjury, and part of a
37:49
Speaker 1: purported extortion plot. He has now admitted that there was
37:53
Speaker 1: no perjury, no extortion plot, and that rather than making
37:57
Speaker 1: up what I said, I honestly believe charges I made
38:00
Speaker 1: against him. And she is not wrong about any of that.
38:05
Speaker 1: You know, Dershowitz isn't going to talk about his concessions.
38:08
Speaker 1: He's going to try and frame it as a gigantic
38:09
Speaker 1: victory for him. And the detractors and naysayers, they'll do
38:13
Speaker 1: the same thing. Whether or not Mr. Dershowitz's admissions undermine
38:20
Speaker 1: his previous denials of the charges made against him is
38:23
Speaker 1: for others to say. The settlement agreement limits what I
38:27
Speaker 1: can say, and I will abide by it unless and
38:29
Speaker 1: until I am released from it. However, those admissions are
38:33
Speaker 1: not consistent with exoneration, and I'm glad that she came
38:38
Speaker 1: out and set the record straight, because a lot of
38:40
Speaker 1: times if you just keep your silence, you let narratives
38:43
Speaker 1: build and people run with those narratives. So a lot
38:46
Speaker 1: of times it's good to nip it in the bud
38:48
Speaker 1: and put your side out. And then you can be
38:50
Speaker 1: done with it, right? If I was Virginia, I wouldn't
38:52
Speaker 1: address it again. I said my piece. This is what's
38:56
Speaker 1: going on. I don't owe anybody anything else. I need
38:59
Speaker 1: to focus on my health and my family. That's what
39:01
Speaker 1: I would say. So there you have it in her
39:06
Speaker 1: own words. And really, that's what the most important thing
39:08
Speaker 1: here is, right? What did she have to say? So
39:21
Speaker 1: there you have it in her own words. And really,
39:24
Speaker 1: that's what the most important thing here is, right? What
39:26
Speaker 1: did she have to say? Reached by phone on Monday
39:33
Speaker 1: and asked about Roberts' new comments that her statement fails
39:36
Speaker 1: to exonerate him, Dershowitz would only repeat his prior claims
39:40
Speaker 1: that Roberts' accusations of abuse were untrue. I challenge her
39:44
Speaker 1: to repeat her allegation, Dershowitz told the Daily Beast. It's
39:48
Speaker 1: a total, complete, categorical lie. I never met her and
39:51
Speaker 1: I proved it conclusively. Ask her to release all the
39:54
Speaker 1: evidence that came out in discovery and you will see
39:57
Speaker 1: a total and complete exoneration, Dershowitz went on to say.
40:01
Speaker 1: I have waived every single right of privacy. I have
40:04
Speaker 1: waived every right of privacy to every tape recording, every
40:08
Speaker 1: video recording, every photograph. I ask her to do the same.
40:13
Speaker 1: A 39-year-old mother of three, Roberts first accused Dershowitz of
40:17
Speaker 1: sexual abuse in December of 2014 affidavit filed in a
40:22
Speaker 1: federal lawsuit from two other survivors who sued the government
40:25
Speaker 1: over Epstein's lenient non-prosecution agreement in Florida. In the court filing,
40:32
Speaker 1: Roberts alleged that Epstein and his ex-girlfriend, co-conspirator, general all-around scuzzbag,
40:37
Speaker 1: fellow child abuser, and bipedal serpent, accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, forced
40:42
Speaker 1: her to become their teenage sex slave and sent her
40:46
Speaker 1: to powerful men to be sexually abused, including Dershowitz, French
40:50
Speaker 1: modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who killed himself in a Paris
40:53
Speaker 1: jail while awaiting trial for rape, and Britain's Prince Andrew,
40:57
Speaker 1: who settled a lawsuit with Roberts earlier this year for
41:00
Speaker 1: millions of dollars. Now, I will say this for Dershowitz.
41:05
Speaker 1: At least he went through the steps here and took
41:07
Speaker 1: it through the court and came to this agreement. Now,
41:10
Speaker 1: do I think that's a good idea for him? You know, look,
41:13
Speaker 1: I wasn't in there. I don't know all of the evidence.
41:16
Speaker 1: But for him to run around and act like he's
41:18
Speaker 1: been exonerated, that is quite the stretch. Roberts' lawsuit against
41:25
Speaker 1: Dershowitz was filed in April of 2019, months before Epstein's
41:30
Speaker 1: arrest for trafficking minors in New York, and stems from
41:33
Speaker 1: his comments about her in the wake of the Miami
41:35
Speaker 1: Herald's investigative series on Epstein's plea deal. Later that year, Boyce,
41:40
Speaker 1: one of Roberts' lawyers, who had represented her in other matters,
41:44
Speaker 1: filed a defamation suit against Dershowitz for accusing his firm
41:49
Speaker 1: of extortion and suborning perjury in connection to Roberts' claims.
41:54
Speaker 1: For his part, Dershowitz filed a countersuit against Boies for
41:57
Speaker 1: defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. So you had
42:02
Speaker 1: two of the most powerful lawyers in the country dueling
42:05
Speaker 1: it out over these claims of misconduct, basically, back and forth.
42:12
Speaker 1: Before last week's settlement, Boyes had been conducting an ongoing
42:15
Speaker 1: deposition of Dershowitz, who testified that his relationship with Epstein
42:19
Speaker 1: changed completely after Epstein's 2008 jail stint for soliciting minors.
42:25
Speaker 1: After he served his time, my relationship with him changed completely.
42:28
Speaker 1: It was no longer academic or social, but I did
42:31
Speaker 1: meet with him on a number of occasions, largely around
42:34
Speaker 1: the legal issues that were still remaining. And that's the
42:38
Speaker 1: likely excuse, right? And it's one that will give him
42:41
Speaker 1: tenable ground to stand upon, unfortunately. As a lawyer, he
42:44
Speaker 1: can say I was meeting with him for his legal issues,
42:47
Speaker 1: even if they weren't. Dershowitz testified according to a transcript
42:53
Speaker 1: reviewed by the Daily Beast. As the New York Times reported,
42:57
Speaker 1: Dershowitz abruptly stopped the questioning in late September because of
43:00
Speaker 1: concerns about his health. I mean, come on. And then
43:04
Speaker 1: all of a sudden they have the settlement here. So look,
43:07
Speaker 1: when you have a settlement, it's not just take, there's
43:10
Speaker 1: give and take. And there was never any exoneration for
43:14
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz in the comments that we have read anyway.
43:21
Speaker 1: Dershowitz testified that he also had discussions with Epstein about
43:25
Speaker 1: the Middle East after his Florida conviction. He was friendly
43:28
Speaker 1: with a number of prominent Israelis, and so we had
43:31
Speaker 1: conversations about the Middle East and the matters, legal matters. Oh,
43:35
Speaker 1: I'm sure he was. We know he was great friends
43:37
Speaker 1: with Ehud Barak, and I'm sure there's a slew of
43:40
Speaker 1: a bunch of other people that he was working with.
43:43
Speaker 1: He funded that company, Carbine. Of his relationship with Epstein,
43:49
Speaker 1: Dershowitz added that, knowing that he was guilty of these crimes,
43:52
Speaker 1: that he had pleaded guilty of these crimes, my relationship
43:55
Speaker 1: with him was completely different than it was before I
43:58
Speaker 1: learned about the accusations. Emails cited in the deposition transcripts, however,
44:03
Speaker 1: seem to paint a picture of a particularly chummy relationship
44:07
Speaker 1: between Epstein and Dershowitz, even after the creepy money manager, pedophile, incarceration.
44:13
Speaker 1: Of course, they were still palling around. Come on, common
44:16
Speaker 1: sense says anyway. Now, Dershowitz, again, he'll use the excuse. Look,
44:20
Speaker 1: I was a lawyer. I was just doing my job.
44:22
Speaker 1: He had legal issues and I had to deal with them.
44:25
Speaker 1: That's what he'll say. In November 2012, the deposition testimony
44:32
Speaker 1: reveals Epstein wrote Dershowitz, I love that I get a
44:36
Speaker 1: Christmas card and present from former assistant U.S. attorney Matt Menchel,
44:40
Speaker 1: the guy that put me in jail. Dershowitz replied, appropriate.
44:44
Speaker 1: Christmas celebrates the birth of another innocent Jewish guy who
44:48
Speaker 1: was crucified. So we're going to compare Jeffrey Epstein to
44:52
Speaker 1: Jesus Christ. Is that what you're telling me here, Mr. Dershowitz?
44:56
Speaker 1: And Matt Menchel sending this dude Christmas presents and shit? Bro, yeah,
45:00
Speaker 1: the prosecution wasn't in on it. The prosecution didn't work
45:04
Speaker 1: with Epstein's lawyers to make sure he gets this sweetheart deal.
45:07
Speaker 1: Give me a fucking break already. Obviously, my answer was hyperbole,
45:12
Speaker 1: and it was paraphrasing Epstein's own stated views that he
45:15
Speaker 1: himself received in an inappropriately harsh sentence. Dershowitz, you said
45:19
Speaker 1: the same thing. Dershowitz testified when asked about the message.
45:23
Speaker 1: He added that it bears not at all on the
45:26
Speaker 1: nature of the relationship between Epstein and myself during this
45:30
Speaker 1: period of time. And look, let's not get, you know,
45:33
Speaker 1: ahead of ourselves. This is a silver-tongued man. This is
45:36
Speaker 1: a man who knows how to deal with the deposition.
45:38
Speaker 1: has been involved in many, many depositions throughout his life,
45:42
Speaker 1: and somebody who knows how to navigate these questions. In
45:48
Speaker 1: May 2013, Epstein wrote to Dershowitz, Where are you this summer?
45:53
Speaker 1: Dershowitz replied that he'd be on Martha's Vineyard before adding,
45:57
Speaker 1: Where are you? I called you a couple of times
45:59
Speaker 1: when I was in NYC. Miss you? Yeah, that's the
46:02
Speaker 1: relationship of a client and a lawyer. A lot of
46:05
Speaker 1: these lawyers who do their job and defend scumbags, they
46:09
Speaker 1: don't want anything to do with the scumbags afterwards. They
46:12
Speaker 1: go on and live their life. Look, this is my
46:14
Speaker 1: job and I respect those lawyers. You can be a
46:17
Speaker 1: lawyer and defend scumbag people and still be an honorable person.
46:21
Speaker 1: You have a job to do. I've said this a
46:23
Speaker 1: million times. It doesn't matter how much of a degenerate
46:26
Speaker 1: piece of garbage you are. In this country, everybody's entitled
46:30
Speaker 1: to legal defense. And if you can afford top-notch legal defense, hey, great.
46:35
Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean the lawyer has to be your
46:37
Speaker 1: buddy afterwards. Dershowitz was also questioned about a 2014 email
46:45
Speaker 1: with a friend, Tom Ash, who wanted to visit Epstein's
46:48
Speaker 1: New Mexico land with his son to collect petroglyphs. Jeffrey
46:52
Speaker 1: Epstein said, of course. Dershowitz emailed a friend reads, to
46:56
Speaker 1: which the pal responds, how do we do it? Do
46:58
Speaker 1: we just show up there or do we need to
47:00
Speaker 1: call someone? Don't know. Try calling if you can't reach anyone.
47:04
Speaker 1: I will call J.E., So is this what you do
47:06
Speaker 1: with an acquaintance or a friend? Let me ask you,
47:08
Speaker 1: put yourself in these shoes. Would you just be calling
47:12
Speaker 1: up an acquaintance and saying to him, hey, can my
47:14
Speaker 1: friends come on your land and look for petroglyphs? Or
47:17
Speaker 1: would that be a friend and then that a request
47:19
Speaker 1: you would make from a friend? I know I wouldn't
47:22
Speaker 1: just ask some random or acquaintance that. Thanks, maybe a
47:28
Speaker 1: young girl will answer, the friend wrote. When asked about
47:31
Speaker 1: that email, Dershowitz testified, it's a joke. He later clarified, so, obviously,
47:37
Speaker 1: Ash was trying to make a bad joke. And it
47:39
Speaker 1: was a silly joke. He shouldn't have said it. But
47:41
Speaker 1: he said it. He doesn't mean it seriously. Oh, no,
47:43
Speaker 1: not at all. It's just a big joke. Everything's a
47:46
Speaker 1: big joke. So garbage, man. In Roberts' exclusive statements to
47:53
Speaker 1: the Daily Beast, she also refers to the litigation between
47:56
Speaker 1: Boyz and Dershowitz, who released their own statements as part
47:59
Speaker 1: of the settlement. Both Roberts and Boyes' lawsuits, court records show,
48:04
Speaker 1: were settled without costs or monetary award. I also note
48:09
Speaker 1: that my statement needs to be considered in the context
48:12
Speaker 1: of the statement issued by Mr. Dershowitz and David Boyes.
48:16
Speaker 1: Roberts continued in her statement, Mr. Boyes sued Mr. Dershowitz
48:19
Speaker 1: for charging Mr. Boyes with subverting, perjury, and extortion. Mr.
48:24
Speaker 1: Dershowitz flatly retracted those charges and Mr. Boyes dismissed his lawsuit. Mr.
48:30
Speaker 1: Dershowitz sued Mr. Boyce for charging Mr. Dershowitz with participating
48:34
Speaker 1: in Epstein's sex trafficking and other misconduct, Roberts continued. Mr.
48:39
Speaker 1: Boyce did not retract any of those charges, but Mr.
48:42
Speaker 1: Dershowitz nevertheless dismissed his claims against Mr. Boyce. That too
48:47
Speaker 1: hardly seems like exoneration. And look, she's not wrong about that.
48:51
Speaker 1: I didn't even really pick up on that during the
48:53
Speaker 1: initial release, to be honest with you, but she's right.
48:59
Speaker 1: I have long believed Mr. Dershowitz participated in my sex trafficking.
49:03
Speaker 1: I have not and would not retract what I have said. However,
49:07
Speaker 1: under all the circumstances, I was prepared to acknowledge the
49:10
Speaker 1: possibility that I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr.
49:14
Speaker 1: Dershowitz as part of a resolution of all pending litigation.
49:19
Speaker 1: And right there is it signals to me the reasoning
49:22
Speaker 1: behind it, right? Virginia just didn't want to deal with
49:24
Speaker 1: it anymore, folks. That's what it looks like. And honestly,
49:27
Speaker 1: who can blame her? I was and am prepared to
49:31
Speaker 1: leave to the judgment of the public and of history
49:34
Speaker 1: whether to accept that my belief, which Mr. Dershowitz acknowledges
49:38
Speaker 1: was honest, or to accept Mr. Dershowitz's assertion that I
49:42
Speaker 1: was mistaken, Roberts concluded. For over a decade, Roberts was
49:46
Speaker 1: among Epstein's most high-profile survivors, one who gave international media
49:51
Speaker 1: interviews about surviving Epstein's sex ring and about her accusations
49:56
Speaker 1: against Prince Andrew, and created a non-profit for sex trafficking
50:00
Speaker 1: victims called Speak Out, Act, Reclaim, or SOAR. Her civil
50:05
Speaker 1: litigation against Maxwell, settled before trial, excavated much of what
50:09
Speaker 1: the public knows about Epstein's trafficking scheme and and the
50:13
Speaker 1: bipedal's role in his world. So it was Virginia who
50:17
Speaker 1: blew the doors off of all of this, really, and
50:20
Speaker 1: her depositions and all of the case files that we've seen. However, remember,
50:25
Speaker 1: there are countless other women out there who never came
50:28
Speaker 1: forward who were abused by these people. And while Roberts
50:34
Speaker 1: wasn't called as a witness at Maxwell's criminal trial, her
50:37
Speaker 1: name permeated the testimony. Manhattan federal judge Allison Nathan, at
50:42
Speaker 1: Maxwell's sentencing in June, ruled that Roberts was a victim
50:45
Speaker 1: in the conspiracy and allowed her lawyer to read aloud
50:48
Speaker 1: a victim impact statement from her court. Karen Batar, a
50:52
Speaker 1: partner at Safarth Shaw LLP, who represented boys in Dershowitz's countersuit,
50:58
Speaker 1: pushed back on Dershowitz's claims that Roberts' remarks have exonerated him.
51:03
Speaker 1: All that she said is, I may be wrong. She
51:06
Speaker 1: never said she was wrong. She said she believes and
51:08
Speaker 1: continues to believe what she says. For him to twist
51:11
Speaker 1: that and claim he was exonerated is incorrect, and it
51:15
Speaker 1: really couldn't be further from the truth, Batar said. Batar
51:18
Speaker 1: also said Dershowitz's media appearances likely violated the terms of
51:23
Speaker 1: the settlement agreement. Yo, okay, well, maybe it did. Now
51:27
Speaker 1: I wonder what would the penalties for something like that
51:29
Speaker 1: even be? The agreement was that, under these circumstances, the
51:36
Speaker 1: parties would be limited to the contents of the statement
51:39
Speaker 1: that had been mutually agreed upon. But he, Dershowitz, immediately
51:44
Speaker 1: went well beyond the parameters of that statement, sought out
51:47
Speaker 1: the press, and violated the terms and intent of the agreement.
51:51
Speaker 1: For one to immediately disregard what they just agreed to
51:54
Speaker 1: is certainly atypical, but unfortunately, based on how Dershowitz conducted
51:59
Speaker 1: himself in our case, not surprising. I can only imagine
52:02
Speaker 1: what was going on behind the scenes, right? You know Dershowitz,
52:06
Speaker 1: this dude's pressing and pushing and straight up acting a fool.
52:12
Speaker 1: Imran Anzari, a lawyer for Dershowitz, told the Daily Beast
52:16
Speaker 1: that his client's recent media comments are consistent with the
52:19
Speaker 1: contents of the agreed statement. He has, in essence, repeated
52:23
Speaker 1: his denial as to Ms. Roberts' allegation of sexual abuse,
52:27
Speaker 1: an allegation that he has consistently denied. as contained in
52:31
Speaker 1: the statement, while reiterating Ms. Roberts' statement that she may
52:35
Speaker 1: have made a mistake in identifying him, as contained in
52:38
Speaker 1: the statement, and that there was no payment of any
52:41
Speaker 1: money by anyone or anything else, as contained in the statement.
52:45
Speaker 1: As such, we disagree with the claim that Mr. Dershowitz
52:48
Speaker 1: is in violation of an agreement. And it's going to
52:52
Speaker 1: be this kind of thing back and forth. A lot
52:54
Speaker 1: of legalese, this is how Dershowitz rolls. He wants to
52:57
Speaker 1: make it as painful and as miserable for people as possible.
53:01
Speaker 1: And when you're a high profile lawyer and you can
53:04
Speaker 1: go through a lot of this stuff yourself and it's
53:06
Speaker 1: a lot easier to litigate, isn't it? It's also a
53:09
Speaker 1: lot less cost restrictive because you know the ins and
53:13
Speaker 1: outs and all the rest of the nonsense that comes
53:15
Speaker 1: along with being one of these high profile lawyers. But
53:19
Speaker 1: When this first broke and we were first talking about it,
53:21
Speaker 1: I figured that this was what it was. That Virginia
53:24
Speaker 1: Roberts had had enough and she wants to go on
53:27
Speaker 1: and live a normal life or the semblance of a
53:30
Speaker 1: normal life with her family and her loved ones. So
53:34
Speaker 1: there you have it, folks. Virginia's response to Alan Dershowitz
53:38
Speaker 1: taking a victory lap. And I figured it wouldn't be
53:40
Speaker 1: long before we saw this. So as new information pops up,
53:44
Speaker 1: like usual, we will add it to the catalog. All right, folks,
53:47
Speaker 1: that's going to do it for this one. If you'd
