- speaker-0: That's alright. Let's talk over the music. I'm just gonna say that's a great introduction, Jack. ⁓ thanks for sorting that out for us. That that was brilliant. I love that music. speaker-1: Today one, first one, first second, and you fucked it up. speaker-0: It's always the way. It's good. All right, well welcome everybody. ⁓ this is Fairweather Friday. We are basically two brothers just giving podcasting a go. We do have reasons for it, Tim. We'll get into those a little bit later. Yeah, welcome to our first one. This is a Friday on the twenty fifth of September, I believe it is, at the moment. What's been happening this week, Jack? speaker-1: Busy busy. Yeah, just work, work, work. Managed to squeeze in today off at least with the kids for school holidays, but yeah, flat out. speaker-0: Nice, I love that. Yeah, we've just been down the coast as well. Just for a week. Bit of a week off. I did some work while I was down there. So parts one of the pros and cons of running your own business is you can do it from wherever you want. So all right, I think we should get into it. So my name's Mark. We're brothers. We have known each other our entire lives, unfortunately. speaker-1: And I'm Jack. Yeah, it's too bloody long if you ask me. Yeah. speaker-0: Always the way. Always the way. ⁓ yeah, so we basically thought we'd start a podcast. We've been talking about it for quite some time now. ⁓ we talk a bit of shit while we're out on the golf course, ⁓ or just in general, even when we're catching up, we'd just talk shit in general. And we just thought everyone might like to hear it at least once in their lives. speaker-1: Not sure if people actually want to hear it, but here we are, giving it a go. speaker-0: That's it. As I mentioned before, we do play golf, whether it be questionably or professionally. Depends on the day, I suppose, hey. ⁓ we follow a lot of sports. Jack's more into the NFL sorry, NRL, ⁓ than my I follow it at least. ⁓ follow the Broncos, but ⁓ I don't follow it week on week on ⁓ like Jack does. I'm more of a football slash soccer, depending on which country you're in and what sort of a person you are, I suppose. ⁓ we follow motor racing in all its formats. Yeah, pretty much any sport. Lawn bowls if we have to as well. Nep, you know, gotta give it a go sometimes, ⁓ we give each other plenty of shit as well, but also we do run our own small businesses. ⁓ I run a small consulting firm based in Brisbane, but I can work anywhere around the world. speaker-1: ⁓ Yeah. And ⁓ yeah, I run a little property maintenance, lawn care, handyman sort of side hustle. speaker-0: That's right, but you also have a full time job as well, ⁓ which I don't. speaker-1: I do. I'm lucky enough that I work a week on, week off sort of thing, so gives me a chance to take a dive without taking too much risk, ⁓ which is working out pretty well so far. speaker-0: Good, that's good. ⁓ as I mentioned before, we also give each other plenty of shit as well, whether we're in face to face on phones, ⁓ playing golf or doing whatever we're doing. We're always just giving each other shit and everybody else as well for that matter. So ⁓ yeah, as I mentioned before we we we do want to start a podcast and this is our first ever episode. We're not professionals in any stretch of the imagination. ⁓ That's it. We're not we're not professionals in any stretch of the imagination. There you go. speaker-1: Yeah. So here we go. That's about us. speaker-0: Damn straight. Alright, yeah, and as I said, yeah, we do want to start this podcast. Whether it be to make a little bit of money, enjoy some family life ⁓ a little bit more instead of working twenty four seven. for s which some of us do, some of us don't. ⁓ and you know, just to share our shit talking to everybody. speaker-1: Do you have a tiny little disclaimer to throw in as well there, mate? ⁓ while we're going. We don't intend to offend anyone, but you know, in the shit talk we do throw some slurs here and there, so if you are easily offended, this might not be the show for you, but look, give it a go. We won't purposely offend anyone, but just putting the disclaimer out there. speaker-0: That's that's a good point there, Jack. We do talk a lot of shit and a lot of time people will get upset with some of the shit we say. ⁓ whether it be actually I'm not even gonna get into now. You'll you work it as we go along, I suppose. I d I d I don't wanna cancel us already. five minutes into the first show and we're gonna get cancelled 'cause of what I'm gonna say. Yeah, exactly. Look, ⁓ yeah, what's gonna be on the show? ⁓ we're gonna talk golf, we're gonna talk sport, we're gonna talk businesses, brotherhood, general life. Probably threw some weird shit in there too, which I I wanna talk about today. ⁓ stories Yeah, that that's the weird shit. Yeah, exactly. ⁓ we're gonna have some stories. W we wanna get some guests on the show as well, whether it be s current small business owners around our areas, ⁓ speaker-1: Talk about yourself. Yeah, exactly. speaker-0: sporting professionals 'cause I'm sure we're gonna get them lining up to join our show for sure. speaker-1: I can already see him out of door. I know what you're talking about. speaker-0: Exactly, exactly. So is there anything else you want to see on the show? Like I think we've covered a lot off there, but is there anything else? speaker-1: I don't know, I'd really like to focus on up and coming sport professionals, especially with the Olympics coming up. Start throwing some names around there, get some names that are coming up 'cause it's still six years away so there's still kids out there that are aspiring to be in the Olympics, so speaker-0: ⁓ good choice. That is true. That means you can have to watch the methyllets then. speaker-1: Yeah, look it's gonna be a bit of a stretch for me, but I'll make time for my busy schedule. speaker-0: Look, I think the best way to get us get known to us is by impaling someone with a javelin. Like if you're a javelin I feel somebody who throws a javelin, just try and impale someone with it. You're gonna get on our show instantly. Like we're gonna talk about you that very next day. Like speaker-1: Straight away you're gonna have us freshing. speaker-0: Look, so for any upcoming young athletes that are out there wanting to join the Olympics, if you want to get on our show, get well known, do something to someone. Or do something to yourself even. Like take your pick. speaker-1: throw a javelin through your foot if you want to, but well maybe don't do that, but speaker-0: Yeah, it's gonna ruin your career then. Give it a go though, whatever. Alright, we should probably kick into it then. we've talked enough shit on our intro. ⁓ I wanna talk to you first of all about ⁓ a quick golf chat. I think we'll just caught the brothers golf audit. So You ready to kick on? You got a beer? Good stuff. All right all right. ⁓ that's the other thing we're gonna we're probably gonna drink heavily throughout our show. I may end up drunk by the end of it, who knows? speaker-1: Yep. Let's go. I've got a beer. speaker-0: ⁓ I've got a couple of beers sitting here on my desk at the moment, but we'll see how we go. No shots tonight though. Maybe we need to do that. Maybe that's another segment we could do. speaker-1: Well, you're drinking water anyway, so you know. speaker-0: Look, that's the heavy shit. That's what I'm drinking today. It's just in a beer bottle. All right. ⁓ so let's start there. So what's what's the most delusional thing about your own golf game? speaker-1: maybe that I can actually play golf. Yeah, I pretty much suck at it for the amount of golf I play. I should be beaten Scotty, but flat out beating myself. speaker-0: I'm sure do that a lot though. Exactly. Alright. delusional part about my own game. ⁓ look, I think getting up in the morning to actually go on play golf or even calling it play golf. I don't play golf, golf plays me. speaker-1: Hundred percent. It plays everybody. I love it. All right. speaker-0: But I nonetheless. Exactly. They even have their bad days. They have their good days, and they also have their bad days. Alright, what's the part one part of your game that you think is better than mine? speaker-1: My from hundred hundred and ten into the green, including my putting. I think I'm pretty well spot on most of the time there. speaker-0: Yeah, I'd say you're probably more ac bit more accurate than me too. I think I've got the distance in my clubs. Like I I think I can hear them further. ⁓ but you're definitely more accurate. This brings me the next question, which I know the answer to this. ⁓ if you could steal one part of my golf game, what would it be? speaker-1: Definitely the distance. Yeah. 'Cause you're you're constantly out hitting me. Pain in the arse. speaker-0: I think from your game, for me, it'd have to be you chipping. I think you're an amazing chipper. ⁓ from yeah, any any anywhere between that hundred ⁓ up to the pin. ⁓ you know, you're you're definitely a better chipper than I am. Yeah. ⁓ what's one thing sorry, I'll skip that one. We'll do that one later 'cause that's a good question. ⁓ I want to get into you. ⁓ all right, what's the what's the club in your bag that you trust the least? speaker-1: ⁓ the least. I think it's my three wood at the moment. It's ⁓ it's become a bit of an ornament. My ⁓ young fella bought me a head cover for Father's Day or birthday one year. And that's the only reason my three wood's still in my bag, is 'cause it just holds that head cover. speaker-0: That three wood used to be awesome. Like I remember hitting it t shot two hundred and forty meters. We played at Howiston that day. Hit it off the T. It was that little what is it one it's probably the second or third fairway on the red side down there at Howiston. Yeah, down the hill on the dog legs to the left. I think it's only about two hundred meters to the corner, but I hit it two hundred and forty meters from your three wood. That's the biggest three wood I've hit for for quite some time. speaker-1: Yeah, but damn the hill. I used to be great with it, but when I learned to use my driver then I just lost it. I knew I just learned how to use it. speaker-0: Get rid of the driver. ⁓ best club in my bag. I'm gonna have to go a num an o seven iron. I reckon it's it's the best club, it's the one I'm most accurate with. Every time I hit it it just feels nice off the club. Like it's it's it's probably my best club. If I could just do a round of seven, like a a round of golf with my seven iron, I think it'd be perfect. So speaker-1: But ⁓ since you just fucked up again, what's the club you trust the least in your bag? speaker-0: the one club I trust the least? Can I just say my whole bag of clubs? speaker-1: Or something that you can swing them. speaker-0: It's that's it's the ticket swinger for sure. ⁓ the club I trust the least. Look at it's a toss up between my sandwich and my driver, to be honest with ya. The driver, as you know, I can hit it straight. I can hit it left and I can hit it right. Just when I hit the ball, it decides then w which way it's gonna go. I don't get I don't get to choose which way it goes. It'll go two hundred and seventy meters, but it'll go two hundred and seventy meters left, right, whichever w whichever way it wants to go, it does its own thing. And I say my sandwich on the other one speaker-1: ⁓ speaker-0: purely because I don't use it very often. But every w every time I do try and use it, I just fuck up the shot. I just I just can't do it. I I can't I struggle hitting out of bunkers. I struggle chipping with it close to the green. Like it's it's a tough club for me to use. I don't know why, but it just is. Yeah. What have we sort of always the dickhead swinging it? speaker-1: ⁓ yeah, I think my best club's probably either my driver 'cause I'm pretty accurate, don't hit very far. Like two two twenty is a good drive for me, but it's normally dead straight. Centre of the fairway. Yeah. speaker-0: What about the what about the club you trust least? speaker-1: ⁓ the three would speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, we already talked about that. I'll need to need to fix that up then. ⁓ look, I told you we're not professionals. Our our quality of content is probably not gonna be that great. It's gonna be awesome, but it's not gonna be that great. The quality of people talking, not that great. But that's what you're coming to watch us for, right? Like if any if anyone's actually gonna watch us, it's gonna be because we're just dickheads. speaker-1: If nothing else were relatable, right? speaker-0: Exactly. Or related. I don't know which one you want go with. All right. When was your last what was your last round of golf? speaker-1: ⁓ it was a few weeks ago now. ⁓ mate I used to work with, I think we played Minippy from memory. towed him up pretty well. I think I shot eighty two. I'm pretty happy with that. Yeah. speaker-0: Nice. That's good. That's good. I had a n nine holes with a client a couple of weeks back, ⁓ just down at Winham. ⁓ we were trying to get eighteen in but ⁓ some work came up during the day and neither of us could actually make it for a full eighteen, so we just did a few n just did nine and then had a couple of beers and a couple of bowls of chips at the end. Awesome. Yeah, it was it wasn't a bad wasn't a bad ending to the Friday. So finally on our golf audit, what's the best shot you've ever seen me hit? speaker-1: It's a tough one. You've hit hit some good ones. I don't know, I think it was one shot at Woodford when you're out in the weeds, hitting up a fairly steep hill. I think I was hitting on the ninth screen. And ⁓ you're tossing up between eight or nine and I said, No, no, no, go your seven and you looked at me like I was had three heads. But trust me Yeah, you're right. ⁓ trust me, hit your seven, you'll nail it. And yeah. Absolutely nail it. Put it within a meter of the pinar, I think, from memory set. speaker-0: was a pretty good hit. I I do like that one. That was yeah that yeah, good choice. Yeah, that's it sometimes. Best shot I've seen you hit. Ooh. Now that's a tough one. I'm gonna have to think about that. I might have to come back to you next week on that one. There's been a few. Well there's always that. I didn't I wasn't there for when you got the hole in one so I can't count that one. And no one I know was, so did it even happen? speaker-1: Yeah, trust a caddy. Just 'cause I'm so good. Yeah, but that's out for debate, isn't it? But if it speaker-0: Tree falls in the wood, does it make a sound? Who knows? ⁓ speaker-1: It was so long ago I don't think it counts anymore. Yeah, it was just such a fluaky shot. speaker-0: You gotta get another one now. Look, flukes always work. All right, let's move on now. Liv golf slash PGA tour. ⁓ let's talk about the Liv bankruptcy for a moment. what's gonna happen here? Are they gonna sell? Is anyone gonna pick it up? How much money do they owe? speaker-1: just reading something just before actually. ⁓ they filed for bankruptcy as everyone knows, but ⁓ the public investment fund decided to pull their funding. ⁓ basically speaker-0: Fifty million dollars. No, there was five hundred million dollars or something, wasn't it? It was huge. speaker-1: Two were burned through over five billion since two thousand twenty two. Two billion in losses, so mm. It's just c crazy amounts of money. speaker-0: Yeah, right. It's a lot more than I thought then. Yeah. ⁓ do you think live was ever meant to last? speaker-1: ⁓ look, I think they wanted it too, definitely. ⁓ I think they probably hoped to get a few more pros from the PGA. That just never happened. yeah, and courtesy of Liv, the PGA pros got paid more, so hold up to those guys. But Yeah, look I I think they had big ideas but the PGA's just it's got the history, it's too ingrained, right? speaker-0: It is, yeah, and it's it's got the champion it's got the the the majors in there as well that everyone wants to play in. Like even DeChambeau while he's playing for Live, he wants to go and play on the on the PGA with in those majors. He loves he loves Live from what I under from what I understand. But he you know, that's it's the champion players' championship, you know, the US Open, all those sort of big named and, you know, major tournaments that these guys want to play every year, say. ⁓ yeah, which is it it's It's reasonable to to r to expect that and to respect those guys who want to do it. And speaker-1: Even people who don't watch golf, right? Like don't play it, don't like it. What's the one tournament you can say they're gonna watch during the year? It's the Masters. Yep. Always like everyone knows the Masters. PJ. Yeah, they had it wrapped up. speaker-0: Yeah, speaking of, let's go I'll talk P GA tour. I'll get back to Live 'cause I've got a couple more questions for you on that. ⁓ P GA tour, we've got the champions no, not the champions, the President's Cup this weekend actually. I think it starts tonight or does it start last night? ⁓ I'm gonna have to look that up. It was ⁓ speaker-1: Yeah, I'm not sure if it was last night or tonight, but yeah, kicking off. historically I've never been a huge fan of the whole matchplay thing, but it's it definitely brings another element of like the fans really get involved, the players actually have some emotion rather than the robots that they normally are. speaker-0: Yep. And we've got ⁓ Minwu Lee, let him cook, ⁓ the chef himself, and who else was in there? Is it Adam Scott for the Aussies representing the Australians actually? speaker-1: Yeah, Adam Scott just I don't know, he just keeps coming back, doesn't he? He's speaker-0: He does. I've just loaded up the President's Cup. It's actually started today. Yep. The international team has won two. The US has won three. US so Scotty Scheffler and Sam Burns played Minwu Li and Sun Jaeim. And they went up. who else was there? Ryan Fox, Adam Scott, ⁓ US one. They played Wyndham Clark and Colin Murakawa. Justin Thomas and Jackson Coivan. that's how you pronounce his name, I'm gonna screw it up. I'm not very good at that. Played Corey and Nico, ⁓ US won that one as well. So and then Matsuma Matsuyama and like Ryo, not gonna pronounce that one. ⁓ played Cameron Young and Xander Shoffley and they won. So speaker-1: That's the weird name's it. Yeah, so yeah, internationals was work to do, but we have seen that ⁓ USA team choke, so fingers crossed. speaker-0: ⁓ we have many, many times. That's it. Alright, so back to back to Liv, I wanted to talk about that quickly for a second. they had the huge player contracts, you know, Cam Smith hundred and fifty mil, was it John Rahm, he was he was up there too, I think he was more than that, two hundred mil or something. It's ridiculous. speaker-1: Yeah, he was he fetched huge money. I'd say eight hundred million, five hundred million. I don't know what he actually saw in for in the end, but Yeah well Crazy money. speaker-0: have a look there actually. ⁓ live contract. speaker-1: But three hundred men. Three hundred. speaker-0: three hundred mil. So big money. Do you think that with all the money that they were throwing around for all these live players, was it gonna be sustainable? Like they just they just threw money at them, didn't they? Yeah. To get ⁓ to come over. I love the format. speaker-1: That's the thing, right? They they threw the money to get the names but they didn't really achieve what they set out to. ⁓ they didn't get the really big guys. So Yeah, and the fifty four holes, three day events, it was good to watch. To fill in between PGA events, but yeah, I never really got that into it. speaker-0: Yeah. I love watching the the team the team play. It just changed that element up. Like you had you couldn't just watch Cam Smith, you or you couldn't just watch John Rahm. You had to watch the other guys in their teams play. ⁓ you know, even watch a Phil Mickerson play. I love watching him play and he talks so much about the sport and about ev every shot he has, all the work that goes into it. But you couldn't just watch him play, you had to watch the rest of his team play to see, you know, where the team went on up each week. speaker-1: Or every time they applied. speaker-0: ⁓ I do like the fact that they brought some new courses to play as well. Like obviously the w the one here in Australia, ⁓ being down in South Australia, wasn't too keen on that. It's too far away from home. But love to have gone down, but you know, that's that's one thing I think Live Golf did well. They tried to go around the co round the w ⁓ the world and play as many many as they could. They played here, they played Singapore, Mexico, you know, and just in places that you just didn't think of. ⁓ which I really enjoy that. And I think the PGA if they If the live does fold and they bring the players back, I think they need to bring ⁓ tour back to Australia. speaker-1: percent. But that's where you branch off a little bit and get to the D P World Tour that play all those courses, so yeah, you need your World Tour points to eventually get the the PGA card or if you don't go through the college system, so Yeah. But they do play it, it's just not heavily advertised like the PGA is. speaker-0: Yeah, that's it and and you know that's that's probably where the PGA need to you know, sort through a few things. I would love a P GA tour to come down here. Can you imagine how many fans they'd get if Scotty, ⁓ the likes of Rory Tiger even like yeah. Y you'd you'd make it down there, wouldn't you? Like wherever wherever they had it in Australia. And I ⁓ maybe they weren't getting fans when they'd doing it here and they cancelled it. I I'm not sure. I can't remember now. It's a long time ago. Yeah. ⁓ one thing I would love to see either that you ⁓ live all PGA do is similar we'll talk about this later as well with Max Verstappen. He did a did some go karts with a hundred random guys or amateurs, whatever they were. I would love to see an amateur play in every PGA event. speaker-1: think it's a reference point, right? If they're like a put a fifteen handicap in, say not awful but still not great. Yeah. As a reference point for all of us watching. 'Cause yep. We get so used to watching the pros are like, ⁓ that was a great shot or he misses a green by ten feet, ⁓ that was awful. Meanwhile, fifteen handicaps out there shooting a hundred. speaker-0: On the first hole. speaker-1: So it'll be nice to have a reference point. speaker-0: Having thirty eight swings to get out of the rough at the US Open last year. speaker-1: Yeah. Pace of play might slow down a bit, but yeah. speaker-0: Look, honestly, just put ⁓ in the last group. you know, the last group's usually the better group, but there's gotta be Well actually put ⁓ on the day before. You know, in the practice round. Just just do ⁓ do ⁓ with a practice round with the pros. Just put ⁓ with you know, put me for instance, you know, with Scotty Scheffler and just say, go out for a round with him. speaker-1: Yeah well. I don't think I can count that high. speaker-0: No, and neither no one can. Like we need someone else there. We need a bunch of kindergarteners with like going one, two, three, counting on their fingers 'cause we're gonna lose enough. Yeah. Yeah, I think that's what we need. I think that's what the sport needs. There's a couple of random Joes in there just having a swing, seeing what these courses are like, because yeah, we sit there and we go, ⁓ it's great shot, it's great shot Then we go down to our local course and we get a par on a on a par five or a par three or something, then we're like, ⁓ that's fucking great. speaker-1: ⁓ yeah. Yeah. Champagne and speaker-0: Yeah. We go and play on one of their courses and that par that we just got turns into like a fourteen over on the one hole or something like that because those greens are super quick, they're super hard. I just l I'd I'd just love to do it. I'd I'd love to see that happen on the PGA too, whether it be a practice round or in the middle of the tournament, throw an amateur on there. speaker-1: Totally agree. speaker-0: All right. Probably enough golf talk for today. ⁓ we should move into the locker room. We have got a lot happening here over the next couple of weeks actually. ⁓ sport wise in Australia. It's yeah, it's gonna be good. Tomorrow we have the AFL grand final. We Fremantle Dockers versus Brisbane Lions. before we start, who do you reckon's gonna win? Brisbane or Freo? speaker-1: ⁓ It's gotta be Brisbane. I gotta go to the street, Pete. Yeah. Got a bit of a soft spot for WA teams 'cause I lived there for a while, but it has to be Brisbane. speaker-0: ⁓ look, I agree there with you. Love to see Freo get their first win, but when Brisbane boys, you've got to go Brisbane first. Get the three peat. How good would it be if they get the three peat? They're probably the only Brisbane team at the moment that seemed to be doing quite well. Like we had the Broncos. We had the Broncos do well last year. We had the Heat do well last year. We had the Lions do well last year. It was it was great. But you know, I'm not even gonna talk about the rule. ⁓ we'll leave them out of it completely. Yeah. You know, but this year speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: We haven't seen the heat play yet. It's coming up soon. ⁓ but but the lines are in. speaker-1: Yeah, ⁓ I'm actually looking forward to this game. ⁓ especially with the WA side getting it as well. I think yeah. Should be a great game. Hopefully they put on a a tight one, 'cause that ⁓ the prelim final with Hawthorne and Brisbane was sensational. Backwards and forwards, up and down, lead changes, maybe a contentious call and the dying seconds there, but I don't really know the game well enough to have a comment on that, so speaker-0: You gonna watch it tomorrow? speaker-1: ⁓ I'll have it on. I might watch the start and then go back occasionally and check it out, but I won't watch the whole thing. speaker-0: Yeah, I'll probably have it on as well. I'll probably try and watch as much as I can, but yeah, we'll see how we go. well look with with that, we've got Lockie Neal, got got let off. ⁓ look, I I understand why they did. but he ran across the field, he hit a bloke in the face. Should he have gotten off? I and before you before you answer this, I'll just go through with what happened. The other player did the wrong thing. speaker-1: Hmm. speaker-0: Locky Neil ran across and hit him. Is a you know, tit for tat, is that okay in professional sport? Or should you be an adult enough to go, Yep, he did the wrong thing, let the ref deal with that? Whether he does or not, there's ⁓ hundreds of cameras looking at the field. Do you expect anyone to ever get away with that stuff on field? speaker-1: Definitely not. Excuse me. again I don't know enough about the game but there was a bit of comment about something similar happening whether it was early in the season or last season and that player got suspended. So again they're not doing the ⁓ it's not like for like, you know. It's chopping and changing rules to suit ⁓ regular season game isn't worth as much as grand final, so maybe they're like, ⁓ yeah, right I mate, go and play the grand final, but yeah. Consistency is what you could chasen, right? speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah, that's it. And and and more so for the young kids watching the game, like you know, we we we were never we never grew up on AFL ourselves. We were always in a NRL. but you've got a lot of young kids watching these games. Do I think it's okay? No it's not okay. I'd love to see the beef brought back, you know, in the NRL. But, you know, it th things have changed, standards have changed. It's probably not Probably not the right time to do it, and he's run across the field. If he was just standing there and gave him a little, you know, shoulder nudge, whatever. But he's running behind him and clocked him. I'm not sure that's okay. speaker-1: Pull the Barry Hall on him. speaker-0: Yeah, pretty much, Colinog, doing the pre game entertainment. Thoughts. Australia's ⁓ Australia's princess, whatever they call her, I can't remember now. speaker-1: Yeah, look, risky. I think Snoop Dogg last year was sensational. Love it too good. Yeah. And then you know, obviously they're may have blown their budget on him for this year as well, so I don't know, Kylie's good. ⁓ I think she'll put on a bit of a bit of a show, but the NRL have gone the other way. With well removed it all together. speaker-0: Yeah, that was good, wasn't it? Yeah, I I did hear about this. ⁓ I'm in two minds about as well. Like Tones and I she was doing the ⁓ pre game entertainment. They have said we want you to play Dance Monkey. ⁓ think it Dance Monkey anyway. Yeah. ⁓ and she said no. And which is fair enough, it's a few years old now, she wants to play a new music, you know. Is is yeah, I I think that's okay. But I don't think I I think they should have had someone that's back up. Like I speaker-1: Bad ones, yeah. Well I'm on the fence to be honest. I'd you're there to watch the footy, aren't ya? Like Yeah. I've been to big games and they've put pre game entertainment on. Like, yeah, it's kinda cool, but bit of fireworks and bit of music gets the crowd pumped anyway. ⁓ Yeah. The half time entertainment was good, I think. A Broncos game I went to a couple of years ago they had Cyril at half time. Yep. Sensational. He just got that crowd pumped. speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think what they're trying to do is they're trying to make it a big spectacle now, sort of like what the NFL do. ⁓ you know, with the Super Bowl, even just their regular games. The game they had here the other week in Melbourne was was amazing. The pre game stuff and the and the you know, half time entertainment was actually quite good. And so maybe that's what they're trying to do with the the finals. Will they bring that into the regular season? I don't know. Would it be interesting to see that during the regular season at halftime? A couple of people come out, whoever it might be, whenever the voice maybe comes out at half time and has a bit of a sing and dance. Would that be cool to see? Or is you too busy getting your beers and taking a piss? speaker-1: Yeah, well probably a bit of that too, but I don't mind it 'cause ⁓ like those Sydney teams bring in bugger all of a crowd, you know, we're talking five to ten thousand people for a crowd. Yeah. ⁓ I know the stadiums can't handle it either, but like you look at the Bulldogs play at their home ground and the the thing's empty. Yeah. You gotta have something. speaker-0: But is that a representation of the bulldogs more so than anyone else? speaker-1: Well, a any team with ⁓ what's his name? Galvin in it seems to fall over pretty quick. speaker-0: Does a little bit, doesn't it? Alright, so let's talk tonight. We've got ⁓ NRL coming on tonight. We've got Dolphins and Roosters. ⁓ before we start with that, I saw the ⁓ Newcastle and W Warriors game the other day. I was disappointed. I wanted a Warriors Dolphins final. I knew it was never gonna happen, but I would love to have seen that happen. You know. speaker-1: It would have been good but look, if the Broncos aren't gonna win it's gotta be an Aussie team for me and I just was never on that Warriors bandwagon. speaker-0: Man, I want the underdogs to win all the time. But at the same time, would you rather say Warriors and Dolphins to win over the roosters and panthers? There you go. For me, that's it. speaker-1: A hundred percent, yeah. Anyone but Panthers this year, please. speaker-0: I'm gonna ask you question here before we get into the details of this. Is the NRL rigged? Is there gonna be two Sydney teams in the final? Are we gonna be seeing the Roosters and Panthers? speaker-1: I just don't see how it could be these days. There's that many cameras on everyone doing everything. Like there's been some pretty ordinary games this year with refereeing at the key. ⁓ I don't know, I see Ashley Klein got stood down for the grand final. I don't know if it's for the rest of the final series or just that game. ⁓ speaker-0: Yeah, I saw that too. I didn't I didn't read into it, but why wh do you know why you got stood down? speaker-1: I think there was some pretty wild calls in the that game he refereed, was it? Warriors Knights. The amount of six again he blew was just outrageous, those little line calls. But you know, the bunker got one wrong wrong as well. Mm or a couple of them wrong, with the strip call, ⁓ the shepherd or what they call ⁓ obstructor these days. So, I don't know, like he's out for the grand final but I think he's in the bunker, from what I read, so speaker-0: Or is not, yeah. Yeah, obstruction. Yep. speaker-1: Is it really gonna help? But is it rigged? I don't know. speaker-0: Who knows? I just love throwing that question in there just 'cause it's gonna piss people off. I mean if there's anyone listening from New South Wales who always watches the Broncos and goes, Broncos get an you know, they get all the penalties, they all this, they get all that. Well, you know, now's a bit of a turn to time to turn that. ⁓ you guys are just sore that you lost so many state of origin games. I can say that 'cause I'm on the this end of the camera and the microphone and you're not. Whoops, we just lost some listeners. ⁓ all right. Let's speaker-1: Yelling in their cars right now. That's right. speaker-0: Not yet. Alright, tonight we've got the Dolphins and Roosters, seven fifty, Suncorp Stadium. ⁓ Dolphins, they won win from their first grand final. Sam Walker's back for the Rooters. ⁓ after his ankle injury. What are your thoughts tonight? speaker-1: I think dolphins are gonna just beat ⁓ I think that dolphins attack is absolutely sensational. And if you can run that little forward back that the roosters have, a bit ragged, you start to see the the holes in the armor, so Okay. Control Marky Mark, 'cause I'm not gonna have an attempt at saying his last name. Slow Tedesco down a little bit and ⁓ yeah, I think fins up. speaker-0: I don't blame ya. Fins up all the way. Look, I'm gonna go for the fins tonight too. ⁓ I think it's gonna be a close game as well. I I think we're probably looking at, you know, four points in it by the end of it. if if you're a if you're a betting man, I'd I'd I probably wouldn't put any more than sixteen points across the game, to be honest with you. speaker-1: Well, I don't know. ⁓ both sides are a bit slack on defence, so it could be sixty all by the end of the game, but speaker-0: Yeah, I look it it could be. I just think defensively now is when they need to tighten up too. ⁓ you know one went away from a grand final. speaker-1: I hate to say it but I think whoever wins tonight is gonna be facing Penrith in the grand final. ⁓ yeah. And the defence is gonna have to be sensational. Yeah. speaker-0: Yeah, Panthers playing Knights. I don't see Knights winning that one tomorrow night. Is it? Yeah, tomorrow night. ⁓ sorry, Sunday night. Yeah. I I don't see Knights even getting close. Penrinth are just too good, I think, at the moment. Yeah. I mean I know Cleary's playing with an a ⁓ not an ankle or foot injury. Yeah. I d I just don't see the Knights doing it. speaker-1: lucky to be in the side actually 'cause he failed a cat to HIA last week, so he's in the side. I just had a quick look. ⁓ so yeah, he's lucky to be there, so see how we go. speaker-0: All right. Let's say we we you get a you get a dream grand final out of the four teams. Who who's who's your two two teams you want to see in the final? speaker-1: Unfortunately I think it would have been Brewster's Dolphins would have been a great grandfather, but luck would have it that's not gonna happen. But look I think it's gonna be Panthers Dolphins and Yeah, I am just hoping that the Dolphins can pull it off. speaker-0: Man, how good would that be? What four to five years in the ⁓ N NRL? ⁓ if you want to check that for me, that'd be great. ⁓ Not even that, three years then. Jesus. Three years in and they're already up to a grand final. Or they're even in the semis in three years. How good's that? Like incredible They're doing something right over there, aren't they? Yeah. Yeah. speaker-1: Twenty three was their first year, so Something in the water over here at Redcliffe. speaker-0: That's it, that's it. Well look, it's good to see dolphins. Dad used to play for them many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many moons ago. He's not there, is he, listening to this, by the way? I'm in trouble now. speaker-1: No, he's in the house somewhere but The Q Cup, Redcliffe Dolphins, so I don't think they're grand final as well. ⁓ they play tomorrow, I think. So Yeah. speaker-0: That's good, yeah. Fingers crossed then. ⁓ my grand final. I would love to see look, I just don't want Panthers to win. And I don't want Roosters to win. I want to see Dolphins Knights now. I know I wanted to see Dolphins Warriors. I can't have my can't have my dream. But this is my dream grand final. We see Dolphins Knights, Dolphins take away the win. Yeah. I guess tonight and Sunday afternoon we'll find out who's in the ⁓ who's in the final and we'll take it from there. speaker-1: The only good thing about Dolphins Knights would be Dolphins win and seeing the look on Andrew John's face would be Yes. That'd make my whole year. ⁓ we have the Broncos are going this year, that would make my year. speaker-0: With you there. Yep. How good would that be? Yeah. See the Johns brothers. All right. Let's move on now. Pedro Acosta, you want to talk about this one? His first Moto G P and w G P win? speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. I do watch a fair bit of Moto GP. It is probably, in my opinion, the best motorsport in the world. speaker-0: Look, I just before you continue I just wanna say you get to watch it doing shift work. Most of the time when it's on it's like what, one or two AM or some shit? speaker-1: Yeah, it's bullshit o'clock most of the time, so I'm not getting out of bed to watch it, that's what I'll watch a replay. But ⁓ if I'm not on night shift. Yep. But ⁓ yeah, Pedro Acosta with his first win. They do in Austria at the Red Bull Ring, so he rides Red Bull KTM, so that was good for him. ⁓ yeah, he they do a sprint race on Saturday now. I don't know if you know this, but they do a sprint race Saturday. Which he was leading up until two or three laps to go and then binned it. yeah. Maybe first win nerves got the better of him, made a silly little mistake. Spinned it. ⁓ got a DNF there and then put that behind him on Sunday and just charged three for the win. Just yeah. Really good to watch, really good to see. Yeah, look speaker-0: I don't watch much Moto GP, I do follow a little bit of it, not as much as you, ⁓ obviously. I love the bikes and everything. The balls on those guys though. Like how how good man, like sitting on a sitting on a crux rocket doing God knows what speeds going into those corners and he comes off, gets on the next day and goes out and wins. Like speaker-1: Mm-hmm. something not right in their head, so they're just they can just put that ship behind them and they're off again. Whoever their psychologists must be, choose the the icons speed 'cause they're gonna need it. speaker-0: They must get paid a lot just to keep these sports lycologists must get paid a lot and I say in general, more talking about the the motor racing and that sort of stuff, the motor GP because there's nothing protecting them. They've got these ⁓ yeah, sure, their suits are ⁓ hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of suits that protect them, but it doesn't take much to snap your neck. speaker-1: No. They airbags in their seats these days as well. Yeah. And I'm pretty sure Pedro Acosta ⁓ celebrated that hard that his airbag went off. 'Cause he's his suit thought he was crashing, so but yeah, buddy, good on him. He's ⁓ he's off to Jacati next year. Yeah. Jacqueline, factory team, so he'll be on an absolute rocket. speaker-0: That's right. Yeah, I was gonna ask you, how do you think he's gonna go on Jakadis? KTM's a different bike? How do you reckon he's gonna go? speaker-1: Well, he's the only one that can ride the KTM and Brad Binder's been there for ever. it's making him look a bit silly, so you know, with a a teammate like Mark Marquez, they build bikes around him where the Acosta can pick up on that and actually be able to ride it to the style that Marquez does. No one else has been able to. All of his teammates have fallen off every year. so yeah, he is a a curricular or Marcos, but yeah, he's approaching the end so hopefully Aca can have a bit more say. speaker-0: Saying that, Pedro Acosta's a young fella. He's obviously quite good on the KTM that no one else can ride, right? ⁓ do you think him going over to Jacati will give him that advantage? Him being young, being able to ride a KTM, better than anybody else so far, is that gonna give him the advantage over the other guys on a Jacati and if they build it for him? Like build it the way he likes it, how you know, whether he likes the front balance, rear balance, wherever he wants it, like speaker-1: that's the the key, right? Is Gicati's gotta build a bike to suit him. ⁓ and Marquez you know, I think he's going for Rossi's record, I think he's gotta win one more championship and he's got him. ⁓ but I think Jacket need to future proof themselves as well 'cause Marquez is all but cooked. Yeah. ⁓ so yeah. Alright. I'm hoping. I hope to see some good racing. speaker-0: Right, bit of analysis here. Is a cost of the next genuine Moto G P superstar? We haven't seen one for quite some time, sort of like the likes of ⁓ Valentino Rossi. You know, he was everywhere. You know, you used to hear about him on the news everywhere, you look in the papers, he was there. There hasn't really been one since then. That's one as many races. Can he do it? Is he the next superstar? Genuine. speaker-1: I think like it's it's so much more competitive now than it used to be, like back in Rossi's day, but yeah, like if Acosta can ride a a wooden plank up to the the podium then he put him on a decent bike. I think they're all in trouble. Yep. Okay. Yeah. Even Marquez's record 'cause he was sensational. I think he's in a bit of trouble. ⁓ but yeah, as long as he keeps the fitness doesn't bring a bone, then yeah. I don't see why you can't be a Nick Substar. speaker-0: Perfect. I like that. We'll move on. We gotta wrap this up shortly. We're at ⁓ a couple of minutes, forty minutes. I think we've probably got twenty minutes to go. I've got a couple of things I to talk about. As I mentioned before, Max Verstappen versus the hundred amateur carters at Silverstone Raceway. ⁓ obviously Max won. It was inevitable. He's such a good ri such a good driver. ⁓ how much fun would he have had in that speaker-1: It probably helped him to be honest, 'cause ⁓ those new F one cars are pretty shit. Yeah. but yeah, it would have been so much fun. ⁓ I reckon all those amateur carters had more fun than he did, but speaker-0: man. Imagine imagine looking down and or e even just seeing Max just go zoom in past ya. I I was looking at I I I think I s linked you ⁓ put you in a couple of the videos that I saw ⁓ of the race 'cause ⁓ they released a small video every day or something like that. ⁓ I didn't get to see ⁓ all in one go at least anyway. And ⁓ it would have been so good. Like I think he took over like five like ten or fifteen people before the first corner even. Like he just got off the start and you could see him like the like you know, moving along the cart and he's scunt and every all the comments are like he's f he's cart, he's cuts fast. I'm like i they weren't 'cause when when you s yeah, he's just fast, he's just a good driver. When they were, you know, on the straights and stuff, you could see that he wasn't o overtaking anyone, he was just using the slipstream, getting around him, getting in that perfect line in the corner and taking him out that way. Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. But you could even see the body language, right? The others are like there for a Sunday drive and he's like you know, over the wheel, he's doing the wheelwork, it just yeah. Good to watch. speaker-0: Locked in, ready to go, ready to beat a hundred randoms. speaker-1: Yeah, sure. speaker-0: Alright, how ⁓ good question. You used to race go karts, obviously, yeah, back in the day. ⁓ how do you reckon you would have gone against Max? speaker-1: I'd like to think I'd put a bit of wind up him, but I wouldn't even get close, I don't reckon. He's just that bloody good. speaker-0: He's he's such a good driver, isn't he? I'd love to have gone out there and done it as well. Do you think the guys at the back of the back of the pack had a dis slight disadvantage? They were out within the first corner before he even got to f they were they were shipping their carts off to the ⁓ you know, off to the ⁓ pit pit lane. speaker-1: I think it was a foregone conclusion to be honest. Even the guy who started first, he knew he was tasty. speaker-0: he at least got more t he at least got a better chance, right? speaker-1: Yeah, a little bit better. I wouldn't say a lot, but Yeah. speaker-0: I would love to have been out there. I hope he does it again and comes to Australia and does it and says, Mark, you're in. I'd love to do it. No. Look, honestly, put me up against any professional athlete. I'm gonna get my ass handed to me, but I'm gonna have a great time doing it. So Hey look, that is true, but I'm gonna have so much more fun doing it when there's a dude that's like at the elite level, you know and he's just absolutely owning me. I'd love to do it. Give me ten give me ten or t actually speaker-1: This ticket. You're up against me, you get your ass handed to me, so. speaker-0: Max, if you're listening, I know you will be at some point. You and me, twenty laps anywhere. You know? Obviously you're gonna fly me over. Well and you know, we'll get in the same cart. Hundred laps or sorry, what did I say? Twenty laps? Twenty laps, mate. Let's just do it. Let's just do it. I wanna I wanna see how much better than me you actually are. I know you are speaker-1: ⁓ yeah. Gonna lap you every lap every day. speaker-0: He does forty laps in my twenty. Yeah. That's if I've stayed on the track even Yeah, a hundred percent. But they are they are so good. I'd I'd love to see that. You know, we talked about this with the PGA before, right? Just get an amateur out there. I know racing's a little bit different, there's safety ma safety aspects of this. That's why I'm like, me and Max. Yeah, you can come in if you want, Jack. I'm not I'm not I'm not too upset with that but speaker-1: You are cooked. Well, ⁓ the drivers are saying that the chef could drive the Formula One car these days, so you know. speaker-0: I don't know about that man, I've seen their steering wheels. I I get lost on a keyboard and I don't know what I'm doing with it. Like those steering wheels, man, they've got like everything on them, hey. Yeah. Insane. Alright, we'll keep it on the ⁓ on s ⁓ racing cars here at the moment. Let's talk supercars. We've Bathers coming up and the Gold Coast five hundred I think it is, coming up ⁓ what is it, the week or two after that? speaker-1: The next level, I think. Yeah, or three weeks, something like that. They usually put a bit of a gap after Bathurst. but yeah. Two of the best races of the year in my opinion. and Supercars is notoriously shit at advertising anything. I don't think I've seen anything for Bathurst yet, and it's up very soon, so speaker-0: There's been absolutely nothing. Unless you're a super unless you're a you follow supercars, you're a diehard fan, there's been absolutely nothing on media about the supercars for Bathurst and for the Gold Coast. The only r I was down the down the Gold Coast this week, they're putting up the the ⁓ barriers around ⁓ Southport end. ⁓ well sorry, I think it's main beach end of you know, ⁓ the Gold Coast there at the moment. They're putting the barriers up, getting, you know, traffic used to having to go in a different way, but it it will be great. speaker-1: Yeah. especially after last year's Bathurst. Like arguably one of the best ones we've seen for a long time. I just thought just gets exciting when you add water, so yeah, a bit more rain, hail, kangaroos, yeah. Nothing go wrong at Bathurst. Yeah. speaker-0: Everything. All right, who you going for for let's talk about this first. Who are going for? Who's gonna speaker-1: I'm a DJ R fan, I I'd like to see Brody get another one. Yeah. yeah, I reckon that'd be good. ⁓ who I actually think's gonna take it out? God knows. ⁓ that Penrite racing mod's pretty good, but Wake. ⁓ well, race, sorry, that I can't pick one. speaker-0: They're up there, aren't they? Have they released the the drivers yet? speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, they've already done ninja around ⁓ bend in ⁓ South Australia, so Yeah, cool. That's been in the books? speaker-0: So they've got their teams and their co drivers all set now? speaker-1: Yeah, yeah. So they've already done a round. ⁓ it pissed down there at Adelaide too, so they'll be used to the water now. Yeah, I think Chaz lost it on that one, so Okay, yep. Yeah. Walk a shore coming good where it counts. speaker-0: You'd hope so by now. Look, we'll have to wait and see I suppose, hey. And ⁓ what about the Gold Coast? speaker-1: Yeah, great race, th those beach chicanes are just they trip people up every year, don't they? So it's always good to watch. yeah, I've never been to the Gold Coast, unfortunately, but yeah, it'd be a good race to go to. speaker-0: Two questions for ya. Should we consider camping at Bathurst One yeah? Making a big weekend of it. We go down, we take the ⁓ take the podcast down with us. We literally just put the microphone next to the track and just go drink beers. The podcast this week is just engine noise. Done. Alright, let's do it. Let's make it work. ⁓ well look, we've got to work yet. Hopefully look, hopefully if people listen to our podcast or even don't listen to it, just at least play it and mute us. Whatever. We should be good. ⁓ speaker-1: Sign me up. What are you doing today? I've speaker-0: You obviously we'll be watching Bathurst. I'll be watching Bathurst. ⁓ I usually just have it on the T V, come and go throughout the day. ⁓ just to see what's happening there. Do you sit down and watch it? speaker-1: I'll watch sort of the first twenty. A bit of a chunk in the middle just to see where the race is going. And then probably the last twenty or thirty is a good stint to watch. but yeah, it she's a big day sitting there all day. Ooh yeah. speaker-0: Yeah, it's a it's a big race, isn't it? Yeah. ⁓ all right, Gold Coast five hundred, we'll keep talking about that. ⁓ I love the street circuit. ⁓ it's I personally think it's a better spectacle. They're the it's it's quite narrow. Passing's a little bit harder, yeah, it's a little bit little bit tighter on the bends. They're they're fighting for position all the time. ⁓ I don't know, personally I just think it is than some of the other races. I Bathurst, don't get me I Bathus the endurance race, but the Gold Coast just 'cause the street circuits. speaker-1: Yeah. But I agree with the street circuit principle. yeah, they are more exciting 'cause there's risk everywhere, right? They're inches away from concrete walls everywhere. I am a bit more of a traditionalist, I don't mind the circuits. You can see ⁓ get a bit more of a flow, set up and overtake a bit better. but yeah. I just like watching fastenings, so speaker-0: Yeah, that's true. Yep. I also think we should ⁓ look at getting down to the Gold Coast five hundred one year too. Maybe next year. I know you gotta book early in early in and I know it's ridiculously overpriced, but Fairware to Friday, next year, Gold Coast five hundred, beers, microphones. Get into pit lane, talk to the drivers, yeah, listen to the cars. speaker-1: Okay Yeah. speaker-0: Let's try and make it happen. Speaking of supercars, cost of living, fuel prices. Yeah. Is this gonna impact the supercars? speaker-1: ⁓ well I think it was in New Zealand this year when Priza went through the roof earlier. they reduced the amount of laps that they raced, so it did affect ⁓ for a little bit there, but I think up until the end of the year at least they're gonna just go full charge, so I don't think you're gonna see a reduction. speaker-0: Got it right. You gotta just go for it. speaker-1: Yeah. Yeah. Price is the final series now, so like there's only ten drivers that can win it. Top four, top ten. ⁓ so yeah, I think they're just gonna let it ride for now and maybe make adjustments for the next season. I like it. speaker-0: And ⁓ obviously we both have diesel cars. ⁓ three dollars a litre is where it's sitting at the moment on the way back from the Goldie today. ⁓ I think it was two ninety nine point seven or something like that. And I was like, this is ridiculous, like three bucks a litre to fill up. speaker-1: thinking I'm just gonna go back to horse and cart to be honest. Bugger it. speaker-0: Bring back the old pedal power. Yeah. I mean I've got a I've got a horse here. The ⁓ the sheep or doodle's almost the size of a horse. So maybe I could ride him around the place. speaker-1: I I can tie me ⁓ ten by six trailer behind me pushy, that's all. speaker-0: No, probably not. Probably not. ⁓ the good thing from my side of things about the ⁓ the cost of fuel and everything like that is I don't drive a lot. I work from home, run the business from home, live around the area, you know, where everything is. Like we've got everything here in in the area, you know, a few minutes from the shops, few minutes from the beach, ⁓ slash waterfront. ⁓ I wouldn't call it a beach anymore. So for me it's not gonna affect me too much. ⁓ obviously still filling up the c stilling up the the Triton still speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: You know, it's like a sixty litre tank or something, it still costs a bit, but for you especially who drives all the time, whether it be for work, your actual business, like your actual employed work or your business, or just getting your son to him from school, like w you you drive a lot more than I do. How's that affect you a lot? speaker-1: Shitload man. ⁓ yeah, I'm sitting about a thousand eleven hundred dollars a month on diesel at the moment, so you know, back when it's a dollar fifty, a dollar eighty, ⁓ it was definitely better. But look I have been looking around for those plug-in hybrid ute. Yeah. Took on for a test drive the other day. I'm just not quite sure they're there yet. speaker-0: Just interrupt you here. What car did you look at test driving? Or the BYD? Or ⁓ look, I I know a guy who has one, loves it, absolutely loves it. Mm they are a little bit cheaper. My concern with all those things is you you've got your your Hylux, you've got your Tritons, you've got your ⁓ all you know, all those other big name cars that have had youths here in Australia for such a long time. Our conditions are a lot different in other places. speaker-1: Yeah. Mm. speaker-0: Do you think do you think they'll get on board, whether it be the big name manufacturers or these other guys step up their game to match what we need here in Australia from a Ute? speaker-1: think they're already done it to be honest. ⁓ sensational car. I think they've beaten Ford, maybe maybe not Ford. They've beaten one of the two big ones, Ford Toyota, in sales already, so Yeah right. ⁓ yeah, they've forced Toyota and Ford to make a hybrid electric Ute. ⁓ the Toyota's not real good. The Ford I don't know much about. It's only sort of very new. but The real world fuel usage is still pretty high and I'm so Yeah. 'Cause their motor just becomes a generator for the battery, right? It doesn't actually drive the car, but yeah, the fuel usage is still pretty high, so I'm still on the fence. speaker-0: The guy I know ⁓ that has the BYD and absolutely loves it. we went to Texas for Easter as you know and ⁓ he drove all the way out there in it. Turned around and drove all the way back. Didn't charge it up like charged it up on the way. ⁓ I think he charged it up on the way back, but that was it. Like the didn't yeah, didn't have to do anything else with it. Well the rest of us were filling up at dollar ninety a litre or two dollars twenty or whatever it was. It was ridiculous at that point in time. ⁓ one of the other guys drives a p drives a patrol towing a caravan, literally they fill up probably four times on the way out there. I joked Just 'cause it just chews to risk petrol. It probably wasn't four times. He at least had to fill up on the way back. He wasn't getting home, towing his caravan by driving all the way out there and back. So I mean they've got their benefits if you get a full on electric but Yeah, we'll wait and see how they're going. speaker-1: Yeah, ⁓ I'm very much on the fence, so just gonna let things develop for a little bit and see what happens. speaker-0: Yeah, that's that's a good plan. ⁓ all right. Weird shit of the week. This is a segment that I actually want to bring in all the time. There's always weird shit happening around the world. obviously, ⁓ week or two ago we had Old Love, ⁓ High Rocks shit herself. Completely gross, absolutely ridiculous. So the title of this segment actually came from her, Weird Shit of the Week. She literally took a shit while she was doing HyROX. I don't really want to talk about it too much. It's it's already been and done. ⁓ But a couple of things that happened ⁓ this week ⁓ was the semi final with the Brisbane Lions and ⁓ I think it was Hawthorne. ⁓ Brisbane Lions ⁓ mother and son were there, the husband or the dad was away, you don't know where he was. they got as they were leaving 'cause Brisbane won, they were cheering, all that sort stuff. And one of the Hawthorne supporters threw archos or threw something at him, guacamole or whatever at the kid or in the mum. Hit him. He's called his dad and his dad's like No, it's not Jo facho fault, son. Like Just absolutely brilliant. I fucking love that.
