Massive, big stories right now in the gold and silver sector.
• 0:06
Records are being broken as we speak.
• 0:10
We're going to talk about a lot of factors that are evolving
• 0:13
today in the gold and silver sector.
• 0:16
We're going to talk about the how things are happening, but
• 0:19
more importantly, why they are happening.
• 0:22
We got a lot to cover and I have a special treat for you today.
• 0:27
Look, you know I don't bring people onto my live streams
• 0:30
hardly ever, right? So the person I'm going to
• 0:32
introduce you to is a good friend of mine and someone who
• 0:35
has followed the precious metals sector for a long, long time.
• 0:40
He provides a lot of great insight and I'm going to
• 0:42
introduce you right now to my good friend Mr. Van.
• 0:46
Mr. Van, welcome to the basement and a warm welcome to you from
• 0:50
all the basement dwellers. And it's fantastic to be here,
• 0:53
Ron. You know, I was on a hiatus for
• 0:55
a couple of years, but I just want to start out right away
• 0:59
with unconditional gratitude for you and, and everything that
• 1:04
you're doing on the channel for gold and silver.
• 1:08
As I just mentioned, I was going through some personal things for
• 1:10
the last couple years, but you were there.
• 1:12
You you were there. I, I enjoyed your show and your
• 1:15
  content and your upbeat personality.
• 1:17
Thank you so much for having me on the show today.
• 1:20
I'm excited to be here. It's it's a great day.
• 1:22
Great day to be in gold and silver.
• 1:25
It's a great day to be in gold and silver.
• 1:27
It's a great day to get your insights into what's going on.
• 1:30
And let's get started by looking at some of the record highs that
• 1:35
are happening right now, right before our very eyes.
• 1:38
I'm going to go out and pull up. Let's pull this up from CNBC at
• 1:43
first. This is the gold price right now
• 1:47
in the futures market, almost $70 per oz.
• 1:51
Let's shift over to silver, which is a little down today.
• 1:55
I mean, Can you believe it? We've got $93 silver down,
• 1:59
$1.30. You know, a year ago, two years
• 2:01
ago, we would almost say that was a crash, but silver hanging
• 2:05
in there as well. Let's go to the spot market and
• 2:08
see what's happening there. Gold up, $60.00, silver up are
• 2:15
down, I'm sorry, $1.46. What do you, what do you make of
• 2:18
all this, Adam? I mean, I think that something I
• 2:21
always reiterate to my audience is the fact that when anything
• 2:25
hits new all time highs and I need to get you on the screen,
• 2:29
it's more likely that it'll continue to to hit all time
• 2:32
highs. Any thoughts on just what we've
• 2:34
seen in the gold and silver market over the last few days?
• 2:38
Over the last few days, it's been unprecedented.
• 2:40
I mean, this started back in September.
• 2:45
That's whenever the the tech industry started renewing their
• 2:48
contracts for solar panels and electric cars and things like
• 2:52
that. And that's whenever I saw that
• 2:55
these tech contracts were going to be renewing their contracts.
• 2:59
And what happens right after they sign contracts, they have
• 3:02
to buy material. And it, it's been a long time
• 3:05
coming. You know, we had the, the, the
• 3:08
London Bullion Exchange shortage that they had.
• 3:11
And so in September, we started ticking up and we started
• 3:14
hitting these new all time highs.
• 3:16
I was, I had a, a segment on the radio during that time locally
• 3:19
here and I was calling for $46 an ounce silver in September.
• 3:25
And we hit that and then we started surpassing that.
• 3:28
And the host asked me the same question.
• 3:31
You know, he said, hey, isn't it a risk to start buying silver
• 3:34
whenever you start hitting these highs?
• 3:36
And I said no, because the first high is just the beginning of
• 3:40
it. This is part of a of a bull run
• 3:43
  that's going to continue happening.
• 3:45
And right now we've already had central banks buying.
• 3:48
We've already had tons and tons of retail sales that are going
• 3:51
up. Then we had the tech industry
• 3:53
step in and start purchasing and the new, the, the highs that
• 3:57
we've been hitting, they're continuing in the purchasing is
• 4:00
continuing. The, the shortage is continuing.
• 4:03
The news about gold and silver is continuing.
• 4:06
So more people are jumping into the gold and silver game and,
• 4:11
and there's no, there, there doesn't seem to be any scenario
• 4:16
where the usage of silver is going to go down, not anytime
• 4:19
soon. And that means there's more
• 4:21
  highs to come. I, I'm, I'm thinking we're going
• 4:23
to have $300.00 an ounce silver. We might even spike up around
• 4:27
$500.00 an ounce. And, and that's, that's what
• 4:30
I've been watching since September and that's what I've
• 4:33
been talking about since September was that very thing.
• 4:35
So there's more highs to come. Yeah, yeah.
• 4:37
Thank you. And you know, I know Michael
• 4:39
Oliver has recently and he's super respected person in the
• 4:43
gold and silver community. He's a guy.
• 4:46
He's not a permeable. He's not a person who for
• 4:49
decades has said, oh, silver's going.
• 4:50
I mean, many times he said silver and gold are going to go
• 4:53
  down. And he's mentioned the
• 4:55
possibility that silver, like you said, could reach $500.00 an
• 4:59
ounce in the coming months. I mean, it's crazy to think,
• 5:04
right, like you said back in September at 46 dollar silver,
• 5:07
people are saying, oh, it's, it's you know, it's too high.
• 5:10
I don't want to buy. I don't want to buy.
• 5:12
I think, and I heard this said the other day, and I think it's
• 5:14
a powerful statement that that someone mentioned that the
• 5:18
mainstream media is still kind of feeding out this narrative
• 5:22
that oh, silver's overbought silver's in a bubble.
• 5:25
But the reality could really be that silver in particular and
• 5:29
gold are be are just being repriced that they're making up
• 5:33
for decades worth of what some people may speculate was were
• 5:38
met was manipulation by the big paper exchanges.
• 5:41
And now the physical is actually taking over, which corroborates
• 5:46
with what you said about, you know, the big tech companies and
• 5:48
just, you know, Samsung investing in a mine in Mexico.
• 5:53
Keith Neumeyer just the other day publicly said that he had
• 5:57
three calls from from I know it was India or China by people
• 6:01
  wanting to source silver directly.
• 6:03
And the CEO of Cooya Silver was on with Chris, Chris Marcus on
• 6:06
Arcadia saying that he'd gotten the calls from, I think, one
• 6:11
from India and one from China. Like these people want silver
• 6:14
  right now? That's right.
• 6:16
And and you know, with the media, of course they're going
• 6:19
to be talking it down saying that that they're going to be
• 6:23
selling off and and things like that because look at who owns
• 6:26
them. You know, I mean, there's deep
• 6:28
pocket investors that own these media companies that are
• 6:31
constantly trying to to give negative light on it.
• 6:34
But the fact that the matter still remains that silver is a
• 6:39
product that's being used in industry right now and it's
• 6:42
being consumed at massive rates. There's no, there's no
• 6:46
significant fines in in new silver mines right now.
• 6:49
People are buying silver mines, but there's there's very little
• 6:52
  new discovery of silver happening.
• 6:54
So we're having less and less from that front.
• 6:57
I also think that in regards to silver and industry, oh, you
• 7:02
said something just a moment ago.
• 7:03
Well, I'll interject. I'll I'll interject because it
• 7:06
and it makes sense what you said, right.
• 7:08
And Marin Catoosa just had a chart out the other day that
• 7:12
showed the amount of silver exploration that's now going on
• 7:16
and it has ticked up a little bit.
• 7:18
But there was another data point on that chart that showed the
• 7:21
  actual like high grade discoveries.
• 7:24
And despite the fact that that the just recently silver
• 7:27
exploration has ticked up, they aren't finding a lot of high
• 7:31
grade silver discoveries. And to make matters even worse,
• 7:36
right, because we had these decades of low silver prices,
• 7:41
hardly anybody went out and explored for silver.
• 7:44
Hardly anybody tried to develop silver mines, hardly anybody
• 7:49
built silver mines. So we've got this and it takes a
• 7:52
decade to build a silver mine, you know, or five years,
• 7:55
whatever, under the best of circumstances.
• 7:58
That's right. And it takes it's, it's by the
• 8:01
time you discover silver, it takes like what, 15 years to
• 8:05
actually have silver. Like you discover it and then
• 8:08
you build a mine for it and you got to you got to dig it out and
• 8:10
you got to refine it. So you're right, people haven't
• 8:13
been building these mines for this.
• 8:15
But on top of that, it doesn't matter if if exploration has
• 8:18
ticked up, they're not finding it.
• 8:20
It's not there. You said a moment ago that
• 8:23
there's like a revaluation of silver happening.
• 8:25
That's definitely happening. We went through a pandemic where
• 8:29
there was massive spending by governments.
• 8:31
And from there we got massive inflation for two or three years
• 8:35
of massive inflation. And what follows after
• 8:38
inflation, commodities go up, the cost of goods go up, rent
• 8:41
goes up, up, and then metals go up and then wages go up.
• 8:44
So we're just on the final tier of this revaluation just from
• 8:48
the inflation, not, you know, that's not the other factors,
• 8:51
but the metals always go up at the at the end of an inflation
• 8:55
period. The metals are one of the last
• 8:58
thing that go up right before wages go.
• 9:02
Yep, Yep, Yep. And I know you deal with people
• 9:04
everyday with physical metals, silver and gold.
• 9:09
And I think the reality is that a very, it's still a very small
• 9:13
percentage of people out there that are aware or invest in the
• 9:17
metals and the mainstream media can only ignore it for so long.
• 9:23
You know, I think another big reason why the mainstream media
• 9:26
has always been kind of negative on precious metals is because
• 9:29
there aren't a lot of advertisers.
• 9:31
There's not a lot of advertising money in the in the mainstream
• 9:34
financial sector. They don't really have a lot of
• 9:37
easy ways that they can make big commissions off it.
• 9:39
I've heard that said many, many times, right?
• 9:41
So silver and gold have always been kind of pushed to the side,
• 9:45
pushed to the side. But something very interesting
• 9:48
happened yesterday. I'm going to share a couple
• 9:50
things right now. Number one, this comes from CNBC
• 9:55
and, and these, these are interesting on several levels to
• 9:59
get the right screen pulled up for everybody.
• 10:02
Hold on one second here. Yep, OK, should be up.
• 10:05
Here's the CNBC headline from yesterday.
• 10:07
Gold breaks new record on Greenland tariff threats and now
• 10:11
a $7000 level is in the cards. I think this is important
• 10:16
because number one, I'm seeing more and more articles from the
• 10:19
mainstream media, including CNBC, which is like, you know,
• 10:23
kind of like the McDonald's of, of, of mainstream financial
• 10:28
data. But they're, they even mentioned
• 10:29
down here in this article. Did Julia do a senior
• 10:34
commodities strategist at ICBC Standard Bank is now seeing gold
• 10:39
pushing as high as $7100.00. But what really got me
• 10:46
interested yesterday when it came to CNBC is this picture
• 10:49
here, which is a live picture of my television set while I was
• 10:54
eating lunch. This just I watched CNBC for
• 10:56
about 3 1/2 minutes every day. But this showed the Dow Jones
• 11:01
  Industrial Average yesterday down 1.67%.
• 11:04
Yesterday was a very difficult day in the general markets.
• 11:07
The NASDAQ I think was down 2%. Obviously in the S&P was down
• 11:12
1.88%. So this is a picture I took.
• 11:16
I froze the screen, but then they couldn't ignore it.
• 11:19
Adam, right there, market sell off, but then it says gold and
• 11:22
silver hit record highs. So I think this is interesting
• 11:27
and important from 2 perspectives #1 that's on CNBC.
• 11:31
But #2 the fact that we had a day where, hold on, get you back
• 11:36
  up there. Sorry, Adam.
• 11:37
We had a day where the general markets did poorly, but the
• 11:41
precious metals did extremely well, OK?
• 11:45
And we've gone through kind of a couple decades where we were
• 11:48
programmed to think, well, if the stock market goes down,
• 11:51
silver and gold are going to sell off because people need
• 11:53
liquidity, blah, blah, blah. But we are truly in a new
• 11:57
environment now for silver and gold.
• 11:59
And if we're in this new environment, and this has
• 12:01
happened many times, it happened during the Great Depression.
• 12:04
It happened I think during the 70s where where gold and silver
• 12:08
can absolutely decouple from what's going on in the general
• 12:12
markets if the general stock market is going down.
• 12:15
And then yesterday at the same time, we also had the bond
• 12:19
market having them in. The bond yields are spiking,
• 12:22
bond prices are going down. People are looking around
• 12:25
saying, OK, the stock market is pretty darn high right now.
• 12:29
OK, bonds are going down in value.
• 12:31
Because we could talk for hours about the fact that there's so
• 12:35
much debt in the world that people are losing confidence in,
• 12:38
in sovereign debt. Real estate's real pricey.
• 12:41
Where else are they going to put their money to preserve their
• 12:44
wealth? And they are moving into
• 12:46
precious metals. Any thoughts on that?
• 12:49
Well, yeah, my first thought is, is that for the last 5000 years,
• 12:53
people have been using gold and silver to protect their wealth.
• 12:57
They use gold to preserve their wealth and carry it from one
• 13:00
generation to the other in silver in order to spend their
• 13:04
wealth. So gold is to is to preserve
• 13:07
your wealth and in silver is for spending.
• 13:09
And it's been that way for 5000 years.
• 13:12
And so this to me, and the way I've always bought gold and
• 13:15
silver and used it in my own portfolios is I've always waited
• 13:20
for these down markets whenever the stock market starts to drop,
• 13:24
whenever wegetthese.com busts and and things like that.
• 13:28
The housing market crash was another one that took place and
• 13:32
that is the opportunity to own gold and silver as those markets
• 13:38
drop. I've always seen the metals
• 13:40
markets go up and tick up because it maintains, it
• 13:44
maintains its value over time. And so for me, the metals, it's,
• 13:52
  it's a regular cycle. It's a regular cycle.
• 13:54
We have 10 years of economic boom, then we had a downturn and
• 13:57
then you see your metals coming up and, and that's the way I've
• 14:00
always played it. It all comes in cycles.
• 14:03
Yep, Yep, Yep. And you know, even if we look
• 14:06
back to the 1970s when we had a big long period of stagflation,
• 14:11
right? I mean, silver and gold
• 14:13
performed incredibly. I know silver went from like a
• 14:17
dollar an ounce at the beginning of the 70s all the way to its
• 14:20
high of 50, nominal high of $50 per oz in in 1980.
• 14:26
And it's, I don't know, it's just really truly unprecedented
• 14:30
times that we're living through right now.
• 14:32
I need to say thanks to my sponsors and then I want to talk
• 14:35
about the COMEX and some data that we're getting from there.
• 14:39
I mean, are the days of the COMEX in the LBMA stipulating
• 14:43
the prices of of silver and gold over?
• 14:46
I'm going to look at some data and get your perspective on that
• 14:49
as well. But I do want to say thank you
• 14:51
to channel sponsor first meant right, They are the silver
• 14:54
specialist meant they get their silver from the company that
• 14:58
owns them First Majestic. They mine it in Mexico.
• 15:02
It goes to Las Vegas, NV, gets turned into world class silver
• 15:06
bullion products, and then it goes directly from you premium
• 15:10
retail experience. Everyone in the community, we're
• 15:13
getting so much positive feedback on 1st Mint.
• 15:15
Check out First mint.com. Free shipping on orders over
• 15:19
$299. And while we're at it, I'll say
• 15:22
thank you to channel sponsor First Mining Gold.
• 15:27
They're a development stage gold company with two huge projects
• 15:30
in Canada. The gold's there, it's in the
• 15:33
ground, it's been determined, and it's very unusual to have
• 15:37
two massive projects in Canada, a safe jurisdiction Spring Pool
• 15:42
in Ontario and Duparque located in Quebec.
• 15:45
You can learn more about them at firstmininggold.com.
• 15:49
Adam, do you think, Mr. Van, do you think that the Comex and the
• 15:55
LBMA are manipulate, have manipulated the price of silver
• 15:59
and gold over the last few decades?
• 16:03
Without a doubt. Look at the most recent thing
• 16:05
that happened where the LBMA where they had a shortage of
• 16:11
silver. Who was it that bailed them out?
• 16:13
Who was it that shipped, you know, tons and tons of silver
• 16:16
over to their market? It was comics.
• 16:18
Comics built bailed them out. So they're working very closely
• 16:20
together. And if you have two gigantic
• 16:23
organizations like this that probably hold us, I don't even
• 16:27
know what the percentage would be, but it's a significant
• 16:29
percentage of the, the, the metals market.
• 16:33
And you have these guys working so closely together, it wouldn't
• 16:36
be very hard at all for them to, to manipulate the market.
• 16:39
They can hold some silver and cause, you know, a drought and
• 16:43
then they can also flood the market and cause it to go down
• 16:45
depending on what their needs are.
• 16:47
And you know that that happened right there whenever the the the
• 16:51
exchange got in trouble, they sent a comex bailed them out.
• 16:56
So I definitely think that they're absolutely they have
• 16:59
power over the market like that. I forget who it was that was
• 17:03
caught for spoofing. Remember, there was.
• 17:05
JP. Morgan, yeah, JP Morgan $290
• 17:09
million fine for spoofing, you know, and so.
• 17:12
People went to jail. People went to.
• 17:15
Jail for that there was jail time.
• 17:17
I didn't, I, I that must have that detail, must have, you
• 17:20
know, escaped my mind. But those are serious things,
• 17:24
you know, jail time's a serious thing, $293 million fine is a is
• 17:29
a serious thing. And of course, all these large
• 17:33
investors and large organizations, they are
• 17:36
absolutely working together on these things.
• 17:40
But The thing is, is there's only 10 of them, right?
• 17:43
There's 10 people that are major players in these markets.
• 17:47
They all go to dinner together, you know, So it's, it's not far
• 17:51
fetched to think that they're controlling the market,
• 17:53
manipulating it, however you want to word it.
• 17:55
Working together, you know, doesn't have to be nefarious,
• 17:58
but when you're going to dinner with the same nine people that
• 18:00
are in your industry, that are controlling the market,
• 18:03
conversations are had, biases are acted upon.
• 18:06
Yep. And that and that's been proven.
• 18:09
But what about this fact that are things really different now?
• 18:14
I happen to believe they are right.
• 18:16
When we look back at at the 2011 high in silver, for instance, or
• 18:21
we look back at the 1980 high in silver.
• 18:25
Aren't things different now when you look to the East, when we
• 18:29
look at China, when we look at Hong Kong, when we look at
• 18:32
India, when we look at the fact that these countries, right, are
• 18:37
in much different positions now in terms of the power they can
• 18:41
exert over the market? And are we in a new era of price
• 18:45
discovery for both gold and silver?
• 18:48
And I know there's some definite nuances and differences between
• 18:51
those two markets, but it sure feels like to me, right?
• 18:54
Like this, this time. I was having this conversation
• 18:57
with a friend of mine last night who's a big investor.
• 18:59
He's like, well, silver went to $50 and 2011 and then it crashed
• 19:03
or whatever, you know? And, and I said yeah, and, and,
• 19:07
and then he said, and of course you're going to tell me this
• 19:08
time is different. And I said yeah, because this
• 19:11
time really is different, right? Like we have a new pricing
• 19:15
regime or, or, or pricing scenario that's really being
• 19:21
influenced by different players. I think on gold, we're looking
• 19:24
at central banks, right? And even a big giant crypto
• 19:27
company, Tether, who's now the biggest buyer of gold outside of
• 19:31
the central banks. And with silver in particular,
• 19:34
we've got fundamentals that are different, right, with all the
• 19:37
industrial uses, but we also have China and India that are
• 19:41
major players now in the world. That's right.
• 19:45
And there's so many factors there that are making this
• 19:47
  different. Number one, we have
• 19:49
communication like we never had before.
• 19:51
Now in just a moment we have these magic rectangles of of
• 19:55
infinite information that we have in our pockets.
• 19:57
So if somebody's doing something nefarious or spoofing usually on
• 20:02
X or or any of those other chatting.
• 20:06
Social media platforms, you'll find out in an hour or two of
• 20:09
what the news is and what's going on.
• 20:11
So the days of being able to kind of pull the the rug over
• 20:15
people is, are definitely limited now because there's so
• 20:19
much more communication. And then on top of that, we have
• 20:22
these very strange things happening in geopolitical terms.
• 20:26
So in, in 2018, we ended the Petro dollar.
• 20:30
That was a treaty that started in World War 2.
• 20:33
And as soon as that happened, all these other countries, they
• 20:36
started talking about what's the new economy that we're going to
• 20:38
have? Are we going to keep the Petro
• 20:40
dollar? Are we going to move on to
• 20:41
something else? So we're we've been having
• 20:44
conversations for the better part of a decade now on what are
• 20:48
the other options besides using the dollar as the the world's
• 20:52
reserve currency and what has been the world's currency for
• 20:56
the past 5000 years? It's been gold and silver
• 21:00
anytime human beings throughout the existence of humans, anytime
• 21:04
they pick up that gold Orem, the gold Nuggets or the gold flakes,
• 21:09
anytime humans see it, they pick it up and they don't put it
• 21:12
down. And that has been our currency
• 21:14
for thousands of years. And that's what we're going to
• 21:17
fall back to. So there's a lot of reasons why
• 21:19
this time is different. We have different government
• 21:22
  structures. We have different economic
• 21:24
structures. We have crypto currencies that
• 21:26
are popping up. There's a whole lot of reasons
• 21:28
why this one's different. And to go back to what your
• 21:31
friend was saying about the market boom and bust in the 90s,
• 21:35
when it shot up to $50, if we use that in today's dollars,
• 21:39
that means it would shoot up to about $550 before it would
• 21:43
crash. So even in a radical scenario
• 21:47
where we're in a bubble that's going to go up and pop, we've
• 21:49
still got a long way to go, $550 silver just to match what
• 21:54
happened in the 90s. Yeah, yeah, here.
• 21:56
I'm going to, I'm going to put this up.
• 21:58
Hopefully people can see it. I drew a line from zero to 5000
• 22:02
to 5000 years, and then I drew a little box in there which
• 22:06
represents the US dollar. They look.
• 22:09
  Brilliant. That's brilliant.
• 22:11
I mean, it's a blip on the screen and you could put, you
• 22:14
could put all kinds of other boxes on that, on that bar for
• 22:18
the hundreds, if not thousands of other Fiat currencies that
• 22:22
have that have ended in disaster, right?
• 22:25
Paper money once. I mean, and look, I love my
• 22:28
country. I love the fact that we have
• 22:29
gold and silver in our Constitution.
• 22:31
I think it was brilliant. I don't like what happened in
• 22:33
1971 when President Richard Nixon temporarily took us off
• 22:38
the gold standard. And since that day in 1971 when
• 22:42
I was one year old and cried like a baby all day long, the US
• 22:46
dollar, since we took it off the gold standard has lost 99% of
• 22:50
its power, purchasing power versus gold.
• 22:53
So, you know, the evidence is a little overwhelming on all this.
• 22:58
Something else I want to talk about that I appreciate you
• 23:00
bringing up. So I think it's big in terms of
• 23:02
this time is different with the gold price and the silver price.
• 23:06
You nailed it, right? I mean, geopolitically the
• 23:09
world, that's a very broad term, but the relationships between
• 23:13
countries are way different right now than they were in 2011
• 23:18
and especially in 1980, right? I mean, things are way different
• 23:22
now. And on top of that, Adam, the
• 23:25
cherry on top, which you and I are not happy about, but from a
• 23:29
financial perspective, the United States and also really
• 23:34
the entire world is in a state of debt crisis that nobody wants
• 23:38
to talk about, right? So when you compare now to 1980
• 23:43
and you look at the geopolitical relationships, but you add on
• 23:46
top of that all this debt, all this make believe, you know,
• 23:51
fantasy island money that's been created.
• 23:54
We really are in a different situation right now.
• 23:57
But The thing is, only 2% of the people realize it.
• 24:01
We got 1500 of them with us right now. 1600.
• 24:05
Thank you, all of you for joining myself and Mr. Van in
• 24:08
the basement. By the way, please subscribe to
• 24:11
the channel and I'll tell you how to get a hold of Mr. Van at
• 24:14
the end of the video. Remind me to do that, please,
• 24:17
  Mr. Van. Yeah, will do.
• 24:21
It's you can call me anything you want.
• 24:22
It's all right. We're all we're all friends
• 24:25
  here. So it's all good.
• 24:26
No pressure there. Yeah, you're, you're absolutely
• 24:29
right that geopolitically things are just 100% different.
• 24:33
And and I think it's really cool that that you've got this show
• 24:38
on here to where you're able to make people aware.
• 24:40
You know, I don't want to segue too far off of topic, but if you
• 24:43
really want to know what the real evil is and the real
• 24:47
criminal aspect that has gripped all of the citizens in in our
• 24:52
country for sure. But in large part the world is
• 24:56
debt. And that right there since 1971,
• 24:59
we've been taking on debt as a country and as citizens, we've
• 25:02
been taking on debt. And that is really the, the real
• 25:06
evil that has taken place here is we now have been conditioned
• 25:09
to think that debt is normal. And that's not normal.
• 25:12
That's another thing about gold and silver is you're not in debt
• 25:16
with gold and silver. You hold it, you own it and
• 25:20
it's, and it's kind of resistant to inflation.
• 25:23
It, you know it, everybody calls it, you know, resistant to
• 25:26
inflation, but it's also a little bit resistant in debt
• 25:29
because your debt goes down because that's what happens with
• 25:33
inflation. But the value of that gold and
• 25:35
silver goes up. And that can help save you in
• 25:38
those debt situations. But I don't mean to get off.
• 25:40
No, no, no. No, no, it's I'll say this, I'm
• 25:44
not a financial advisor. None of this is financial
• 25:47
advice, but I will give one absolute piece of financial
• 25:50
advice and that is that is evil. I hate that.
• 25:54
I've always hated that I studied money deeply in college.
• 25:57
I work for a BIG4 accounting firm, La Dee da.
• 26:00
I understand how money works. Trust me folks, that is evil,
• 26:04
right? And when you own this stuff,
• 26:06
right, here's a the one ounce lost the backside of the one
• 26:09
ounce Las Vegas silver round from Bursman.
• 26:12
When you hold this right, this is like a value battery.
• 26:16
My good friend bald guy Money said that on a live stream with
• 26:19
me a couple years ago. And it made sense, right?
• 26:21
Like this is value. The other thing is when you hold
• 26:26
this in your hand, there's no counterparty risk.
• 26:29
I'm not relying on anybody else to deliver the value.
• 26:33
I got it, it's in my hands and there's no bank or financial
• 26:37
institution or anything else that you're relying upon.
• 26:40
So I don't mind you going on a little rant about debt because I
• 26:43
don't like that. You know, it may sound harsh,
• 26:47
but but I hear it all the time and I agree with it that like
• 26:50
debt is slavery. It's like to me it's almost
• 26:53
modern day slavery unless you're using it the like if you borrow
• 26:58
$100,000 to start a business that you're going to, that
• 27:02
you're going to generate more income for yourself with and,
• 27:05
and eventually pay the debt off. I still, you know, I just, I'm
• 27:08
not a big fan of debt at all. It's a very dangerous tool that
• 27:12
we have in our economy and people don't understand it.
• 27:15
And if you really want to know what real freedom is, real
• 27:19
liberty and real freedom, it's debt free.
• 27:21
And that's the real liberty and freedom.
• 27:23
So anyone who's struggling with debt, that is a real struggle
• 27:26
and it needs to be taken seriously.
• 27:27
And you got to get out of debt. But you know I'm not a.
• 27:30
Financial advisor, But that's a pretty easy, that's a pretty
• 27:33
easy thing, you know, get out of debt and metals are a way to do
• 27:36
that when you invest. I deal with this every day.
• 27:39
When members come in, they don't know anything about gold and
• 27:42
silver, but it's in the news or they they just watched Ron's
• 27:45
Basement and they want to know more about metals.
• 27:47
So they come see me and you'd be surprised how many people bring
• 27:50
up Ron's Basement in my shop. But they come in and they want
• 27:54
to know more about buying and trading in gold because it's a
• 27:57
hedge against inflation. And I teach them if they start
• 28:00
buying $25 or $50.00 or $10.00 or $5 in gold and silver, as
• 28:06
soon as that goes up, as soon as they start a little tiny stack
• 28:09
of gold and silver, that when that value goes up, it triggers
• 28:14
something, they get it, you know, like this is, this is my
• 28:17
answer to get out of debt. And I've taken people from $25 a
• 28:21
week to a $10,000 threshold. I helped them liquidate it and,
• 28:26
and we paid off their debt. And that's, that's huge.
• 28:28
I can't that right there. If I could do that every day, I
• 28:32
would do that every day. Just help people get out of that
• 28:34
situation. And gold and silver is a way
• 28:37
  it's, it's a medium for doing that.
• 28:39
Yeah, Yeah. I mean, I mean, one final point,
• 28:41
I'll say on debt is like if you owe somebody money, they own you
• 28:45
to a certain degree. I mean, it may be not, not fun
• 28:48
for people to hear that. But if, if I owe somebody
• 28:51
$20,000, which I don't, but if I did, they own me basically.
• 28:57
And if you really want freedom, then yeah, I I'm with you 100%,
• 29:01
my friend. You know, eliminate that.
• 29:03
I would always, you know, I would always say make that your
• 29:06
top priority. But again, excuse me, I'm not a
• 29:10
financial advisor. Let's go look at some COMEX
• 29:12
data. We're going to shift gears here
• 29:14
for a second and then we'll come back and we're going to learn
• 29:17
about the the bricks. That was a BRICS, Brazil,
• 29:21
  Russia, India, China, South Africa.
• 29:24
Part of what Adam talked about earlier was this idea that kind
• 29:29
of the World Economic system has been going through a big, major
• 29:33
change. And there's some big news that's
• 29:35
come out recently about the bricks unit, which is super
• 29:39
interesting. And I want to get Adam's
• 29:40
  perspectives. I know it's something that's
• 29:42
been of great interest to you on that as well.
• 29:45
But just to wrap up here on what's going on with the Comex,
• 29:49
this was real interesting. Hamza Serenade, one of our
• 29:53
  favorite contributors, brought this up.
• 29:55
He says this is not normal we're going to talk about the mints
• 29:59
Firth Perth Mint halts small gold bars one ounce plus only
• 30:04
not because of price, not because of sentiment because
• 30:07
their capacity is maxed out and what this is showing us right
• 30:12
and we're hearing this from a number of mints, big mints
• 30:14
around the world. I know at Max, CEO put out a big
• 30:18
note the other day about reduce supply that's available to the
• 30:22
market because of unprecedented demand for physical bullion.
• 30:27
And it's showing us that the mints just can't keep up with
• 30:31
what's going on. So that one came from the Perth
• 30:34
Mint and then we're going to switch over here to silver trade
• 30:38
who gave us some pretty incredible data yesterday from
• 30:41
COMEX the Comax right the the home of fantasy Island silver
• 30:47
paper electronic silver, their depository update.
• 30:51
That's the metal they have the kind of backs everything up.
• 30:54
It mean these numbers are crazy that the amount of silver being
• 30:59
drained from the COMEX from Asahi Brinks CNT withdrawals
• 31:04
from the Delaware depository. JP Morgan withdrew looks like
• 31:08
what, over 1,000,000 oz and Loomis and Stone X, who's a big
• 31:13
  player. Woah, 32?
• 31:15
Does that know that's 32,000 from from them?
• 31:18
So what we're seeing is, is that physical metal is being drained
• 31:25
from these paper markets, like the paper markets trying to
• 31:29
maintain a certain quote UN quote price.
• 31:32
But from around the world, people are saying, hey, we want
• 31:35
our metal. Do you think that's an accurate
• 31:38
assessment of the situation, Mr. Van?
• 31:41
  It's. Definitely, yeah, it's
• 31:43
definitely that. And we're not just talking about
• 31:44
people, we're talking about large organizations and
• 31:47
governments. Governments are getting off of
• 31:50
the paper economy and they're buying not just silver rounds or
• 31:56
  barge, they're buying pallet loads.
• 31:58
Thousands of pounds, tons of silver, tons of gold.
• 32:03
I'm sure the numbers are higher now, but I think last year China
• 32:09
bought 1000 tons of gold and silver to to boost up their
• 32:16
their markets. So the the whole world is
• 32:19
transitioning at least in part, you know, into physical metal
• 32:25
assets. And so it's without a doubt
• 32:28
people are act are definitely moving away from the paper
• 32:32
economy to a physical economy and they're moving into other
• 32:36
assets. OK, let's we'll refine this just
• 32:39
a little bit. It might be a paper, a paper
• 32:43
asset that you're using, but it's backed by gold.
• 32:46
And that's happening more and more.
• 32:47
We're getting what there's now plans in the making to make a
• 32:51
digital currency, which is a public Ledger that is backed in
• 32:55
gold. There's paper economies that are
• 32:58
starting to back themselves in gold and and silver.
• 33:02
I'm I'm the gold guy, Ron, you're the silver guy.
• 33:05
So I always default the gold, but but yeah, so, so without a
• 33:09
doubt they have people are moving away from paper economies
• 33:12
and they're moving into either gold and silver economies or
• 33:15
  gold and silver backed economies.
• 33:18
Yeah, yeah. And I saw a report the other day
• 33:20
in China about, you know, China's and, you know, you
• 33:23
really got to dig deep to find this information.
• 33:25
But China's actually doing a lot of QE right now, a lot of money
• 33:30
  printing. And it's super interesting.
• 33:33
And it tells us something very important that China's printing
• 33:36
a lot of money, but they're a little bit different.
• 33:39
Like we print a lot of money here in the United States, and
• 33:42
God knows what we spend it on, right?
• 33:44
I mean, we could go on for hours about the amount of waste that
• 33:47
our government. But our government, one thing
• 33:49
they're not, well, maybe it's starting to change, which is a
• 33:52
  whole different interesting topic.
• 33:54
But typically, traditionally our government would print money and
• 33:57
they weren't using it to buy metals or or a lot of resources.
• 34:01
Whereas in China, they're printing a lot of money.
• 34:05
They got to give them a little credit, right?
• 34:06
They're printing money and they're using a good portion of
• 34:09
that money to acquire metals, to acquire other real commodities,
• 34:14
  real resources for their economy.
• 34:17
  So it's a, it's an interesting situation.
• 34:20
You know, I was on, had Dan Wilton, the CEO of first mining
• 34:24
gold on here about 6-7, eight weeks ago.
• 34:27
And, and, and I think we were as far as I heard the first people
• 34:30
to say it like there's a scramble going on right now in
• 34:34
the world, right? That goes back to that
• 34:36
geopolitical factor that you talked about earlier.
• 34:39
There really is a real scramble in the world to, for people to
• 34:43
get their hands on real assets. Like they're saying, like
• 34:45
they're all waking up saying oh boy, this paper make believe
• 34:49
fantasy island paper money really is just that, paper money
• 34:54
backed by promises. I'm going to use my paper money
• 34:58
to get into some real assets and do it sooner as opposed to
• 35:01
  later. That's right.
• 35:03
Yeah. People are are they're, they're
• 35:06
decoupling from the dollar, you know, and I'm all about America
• 35:09
first and everything else, you know, because I live here and I
• 35:12
think this country's great, but we have to face the music that
• 35:15
the world is changing and we're moving.
• 35:18
  We're moving to something different.
• 35:20
Now you mentioned that China prints money for different
• 35:23
reasons than America. America in the past has been
• 35:26
printing money, increasing the the money supply in order to
• 35:31
loan it out and create debt. Now that's corporate debt.
• 35:35
You know, these are banks and things like that.
• 35:37
But nonetheless, the paper dollar has been a debt based
• 35:41
instrument for 50 years. China recently, this is my
• 35:45
opinion. I, I read for three or four
• 35:48
hours in the morning about these different topics and I try to, I
• 35:52
try to pick up on what's not being said.
• 35:54
So I try to read between the lines and I try to, I try to
• 35:57
listen for the part that nobody's saying what I see with
• 36:00
China and printing all of this money.
• 36:02
They're increasing their money supply because they're, they
• 36:06
need more yuan out in the market because they're going to start
• 36:10
doing different types of trades. They're going to start backing
• 36:14
the gold corridor and the unit and they're going to start
• 36:18
propping up other economies, the, you know, India and, and,
• 36:25
and the BRICS nations and, and those other economies, they're
• 36:28
going to start using the yuan there.
• 36:31
This is all public knowledge and and what I think is the reason
• 36:35
why China's printing all these, they have to have more yuan
• 36:38
units in circulation so they can pick up and support these other
• 36:43
these other countries and promote their economies.
• 36:46
And and and wouldn't it make sense if they are printing yuan
• 36:50
and they're using a portion of that to buy gold, buy silver by
• 36:54
that like by default if they're printing it and buying silver
• 36:59
and gold that it kind of is then backed by silver and gold?
• 37:02
I don't does that make sense? I mean, it's an interesting it.
• 37:05
It makes sense. And that's the, that's the
• 37:08
promise that they're, that they're making with these
• 37:10
countries that are buying their yuan, their swap the dollar.
• 37:14
They're, they're taking dollars off their books.
• 37:17
They're buying yuan with the expectation that eventually the
• 37:20
yuan is going to be backed by gold partially back.
• 37:24
  And that's that's the expectation.
• 37:27
  Yeah, yeah. So.
• 37:28
So when we talk about this bricks unit, I'm fascinated to
• 37:31
hear your perspective, and I want you to explain it like
• 37:34
you're talking to a guy in his basement in Saint Louis.
• 37:38
But this bricks unit in, in the gold corridor, what's the what,
• 37:42
what's your read on what's going on there?
• 37:44
Because it, I think it does have right as we look out 10 years
• 37:48
from now. I mean, what's this conversation
• 37:50
going to look like 10 years from now?
• 37:52
Because we're going to be having it, me and you in the 1700
• 37:56
people that are joining us live right now.
• 37:58
What are the implications of this bricks unit and any
• 38:02
insights you could share there? Yeah, well, it's not ten years
• 38:06
from now, it's going to be 2027. They practiced, they did a trial
• 38:10
run of the unit last year between May and October.
• 38:15
I think they did a trial run of it, you know, to, to work out
• 38:17
some of the bugs. This started the, the, the BRICS
• 38:22
nations and the unit and everything started way back in
• 38:25
2018 when China approached the UN and they started talking
• 38:30
about having gold backed yuan. And everybody kind of liked the
• 38:34
idea of having, you know, they knew something's going to change
• 38:37
with the dollar. Nobody knew back then what was
• 38:39
going to change. But the World War 2 treaty was
• 38:41
ending. So the conversation's going to
• 38:43
be had. And China presented the yuan as
• 38:48
an option, as an alternative to the, to the dollar and they said
• 38:51
it'll be backed in gold. And the other nations said, hey,
• 38:53
we kind of like that idea of having a gold backed currency.
• 38:56
Where are you going to keep the gold?
• 38:57
And China, of course, said, oh, we're going to keep it at the
• 39:00
Shanghai Gold Exchange. We'll, we'll keep all of it
• 39:02
behind our borders and behind our guns.
• 39:05
And people didn't really like that.
• 39:06
They didn't really care for that at all.
• 39:08
So they came back in May of 25, they came back to the UN and
• 39:14
started talking to them again about having a gold backed yuan
• 39:18
and the, and the, the nation said, OK, what's your
• 39:22
development now? How, how far have you come from
• 39:24
the first time you presented this to us?
• 39:26
And they said that they had an idea for a gold corridor.
• 39:30
These are gold owned vaults that are in other countries and
• 39:34
they're building a a corridor and they're building this like
• 39:37
this is these are physical buildings that are being built
• 39:40
and they're going to have Chinese owned vaults in
• 39:43
countries with the gold in there that backs the yuan.
• 39:47
So if you were in one of these yuan supporting countries, you
• 39:50
can take your yuan over to that vault and exchange it for gold.
• 39:55
And they said, we kind of like that idea.
• 39:57
So now China still owns the vault and owns the gold, but
• 40:01
it's inside your country, you know, So it's a little give and
• 40:03
take, you know, it puts a little bit of the skin in the game for
• 40:07
China. And that's kind of where they
• 40:09
started in May. And so then as time developed,
• 40:13
you you said that the unit had been around for a couple of
• 40:15
years in development. It had been.
• 40:18
Around for a couple of years, but they put it into trials last
• 40:21
year to see how it was going to work.
• 40:22
The unit is very simple. It's a public Ledger that it's a
• 40:27
settlement instrument. It's a device so that people can
• 40:31
settle assets in a digital manner on a public on a public
• 40:36
platform Ledger so that it it provides transparency and
• 40:40
honesty. So you take those three things.
• 40:44
You take the unit, which is a digital asset settlement device.
• 40:47
You take the yuan, which is a Fiat that's tied back into gold,
• 40:51
and then you take gold and silver throughout a gold
• 40:55
corridor. Now you're talking about real
• 40:57
financial stability. I'm not, I'm not promoting the
• 41:01
unit or promoting any of these ideas that China's coming up
• 41:05
with. But I can't deny that they
• 41:07
  aren't good ideas. They're, they're good ideas.
• 41:10
And the idea of the unit is it would be, it would be backed by
• 41:14
40% gold. So not quite the the lock in
• 41:18
that the yuan would be, but still having a a digital asset
• 41:23
that's backed in 40% gold that's better than what we got right
• 41:26
  now. Yeah.
• 41:27
And, and, and as I remember, there's a additional stipulation
• 41:30
that like the other 60%, it has to be with the currency of the
• 41:36
member units and that there's, I mean, they've got it locked
• 41:39
  down. I, it's been 6 or 8 weeks since
• 41:41
I read deeply about it, but I remember thinking, wow, that's
• 41:44
working. And, and, and so as you
• 41:46
understand it, let me just throw out an example.
• 41:49
Let's say I'm a country that's involved in this, you know, unit
• 41:54
system. And let's say I sell a boatload
• 41:58
literally of oil to China and they pay me in yuan, that
• 42:02
theoretically then I could take that yuan in in in to one of the
• 42:08
Chinese facilities that may very well be in my very own country,
• 42:13
right? And that it's backed by real
• 42:15
gold that's actually in in my country.
• 42:18
And I mean, it's a pretty cool concept.
• 42:20
  It's wild, actually. Yeah, it's, it's, I think that
• 42:24
already happened. Actually, Ron, I think, I think
• 42:27
that they did do, wasn't it Saudi Arabia that did the first
• 42:31
ever oil deal and they didn't use the dollar?
• 42:34
And so those things, the things that we're speculating on that
• 42:39
  they're happening, it's it's, that's not speculation anymore.
• 42:43
The thing is we're a little bit handicapped in this conversation
• 42:45
because we've been talking about this for years.
• 42:47
And so now we're at the point where everything we've been
• 42:51
talking about for years is happening.
• 42:53
You know, these are things that you can look up and you can now
• 42:55
there's a history to it. It's already happened.
• 42:57
So yeah, imagine a day where this where this could be that
• 43:02
you're going to have gold in your country and you'll be able
• 43:04
to trade for gold for oil. That day was was sometime last
• 43:09
year, I think it was in September, October where they
• 43:11
made that deal. I was having dinner with in
• 43:14
Toronto three years ago with a, with a, an investment banker
• 43:20
based in Toronto, very smart guy.
• 43:22
And he at that point, this was three years ago, he told me, he
• 43:26
said people are already basically buying are the Chinese
• 43:33
are buying oil for gold because he said essentially what's
• 43:37
happening at that point. This was before all these unit
• 43:39
development says China would buy oil and pay for it with yuan and
• 43:44
then the Middle Eastern country could go directly to the
• 43:47
Shanghai Gold Exchange and buy physical gold with that yuan and
• 43:52
get it shipped to their country. So, you know, this is actually
• 43:56
been, like you said, in development for years and years.
• 43:59
They're not going to talk about it on CNBC or CNN or even Fox
• 44:04
News, right, Because most people don't care.
• 44:07
Most people don't care to understand it.
• 44:10
But the world, the way the world trades in the, in the value
• 44:13
attributed to metals is certainly evolving at a very,
• 44:18
very rapid pace. And I think there's a great
• 44:20
piece of evidence we can look at to corroborate that fact.
• 44:24
And that would be the current price in U.S. dollars of silver
• 44:28
and gold, no doubt about it. Yeah, yeah.
• 44:33
I, I I don't have much to say. You nailed it.
• 44:36
  That's. A wrap.
• 44:37
That's a wrap. The the the Shanghai Gold
• 44:41
Exchange for anyone who wants to go down that rabbit hole, just
• 44:44
look at how that developed and how that came along from 2018 to
• 44:48
2020 and it really took off in 2020.
• 44:52
I mean to call that a coincidence.
• 44:54
The conspiracy theorists will will kind of jump on board with
• 44:57
that, that just after the worldwide pandemic started
• 45:02
unraveling and unfolding for what we would know for two
• 45:05
years, all of a sudden the Shanghai Gold Exchange goes
• 45:08
public and and they just have the biggest gains and the
• 45:11
biggest sales and the most trades of of, you know, history
• 45:16
could have been one of the things that launched put
• 45:18
Shanghai on the on the map. You know, I've been following it
• 45:20
for a while. But you know, when you're in the
• 45:22
forest, you, you can't see the forest for all the trees, right?
• 45:26
So yeah. We are, we are, we are
• 45:29
absolutely in a new world for the metals.
• 45:32
No doubt about it. Mr. Van, thank you for joining
• 45:36
me down here in the basement. It's been a very stimulating
• 45:39
conversation and I think gives me and my viewers a kind of a
• 45:43
different perspective, some different nuances in terms of
• 45:47
what's going on in the world of precious metals.
• 45:50
If people want to learn more about you, you have a YouTube
• 45:54
