- 0:00Massive, big stories right now in the gold and silver sector.
- 0:06Records are being broken as we speak.
- 0:10We're going to talk about a lot of factors that are evolving
- 0:13today in the gold and silver sector.
- 0:16We're going to talk about the how things are happening, but
- 0:19more importantly, why they are happening.
- 0:22We got a lot to cover and I have a special treat for you today.
- 0:27Look, you know I don't bring people onto my live streams
- 0:30hardly ever, right? So the person I'm going to
- 0:32introduce you to is a good friend of mine and someone who
- 0:35has followed the precious metals sector for a long, long time.
- 0:40He provides a lot of great insight and I'm going to
- 0:42introduce you right now to my good friend Mr. Van.
- 0:46Mr. Van, welcome to the basement and a warm welcome to you from
- 0:50all the basement dwellers. And it's fantastic to be here,
- 0:53Ron. You know, I was on a hiatus for
- 0:55a couple of years, but I just want to start out right away
- 0:59with unconditional gratitude for you and, and everything that
- 1:04you're doing on the channel for gold and silver.
- 1:08As I just mentioned, I was going through some personal things for
- 1:10the last couple years, but you were there.
- 1:12You you were there. I, I enjoyed your show and your
- 1:15content and your upbeat personality.
- 1:17Thank you so much for having me on the show today.
- 1:20I'm excited to be here. It's it's a great day.
- 1:22Great day to be in gold and silver.
- 1:25It's a great day to be in gold and silver.
- 1:27It's a great day to get your insights into what's going on.
- 1:30And let's get started by looking at some of the record highs that
- 1:35are happening right now, right before our very eyes.
- 1:38I'm going to go out and pull up. Let's pull this up from CNBC at
- 1:43first. This is the gold price right now
- 1:47in the futures market, almost $70 per oz.
- 1:51Let's shift over to silver, which is a little down today.
- 1:55I mean, Can you believe it? We've got $93 silver down,
- 1:59$1.30. You know, a year ago, two years
- 2:01ago, we would almost say that was a crash, but silver hanging
- 2:05in there as well. Let's go to the spot market and
- 2:08see what's happening there. Gold up, $60.00, silver up are
- 2:15down, I'm sorry, $1.46. What do you, what do you make of
- 2:18all this, Adam? I mean, I think that something I
- 2:21always reiterate to my audience is the fact that when anything
- 2:25hits new all time highs and I need to get you on the screen,
- 2:29it's more likely that it'll continue to to hit all time
- 2:32highs. Any thoughts on just what we've
- 2:34seen in the gold and silver market over the last few days?
- 2:38Over the last few days, it's been unprecedented.
- 2:40I mean, this started back in September.
- 2:45That's whenever the the tech industry started renewing their
- 2:48contracts for solar panels and electric cars and things like
- 2:52that. And that's whenever I saw that
- 2:55these tech contracts were going to be renewing their contracts.
- 2:59And what happens right after they sign contracts, they have
- 3:02to buy material. And it, it's been a long time
- 3:05coming. You know, we had the, the, the
- 3:08London Bullion Exchange shortage that they had.
- 3:11And so in September, we started ticking up and we started
- 3:14hitting these new all time highs.
- 3:16I was, I had a, a segment on the radio during that time locally
- 3:19here and I was calling for $46 an ounce silver in September.
- 3:25And we hit that and then we started surpassing that.
- 3:28And the host asked me the same question.
- 3:31You know, he said, hey, isn't it a risk to start buying silver
- 3:34whenever you start hitting these highs?
- 3:36And I said no, because the first high is just the beginning of
- 3:40it. This is part of a of a bull run
- 3:43that's going to continue happening.
- 3:45And right now we've already had central banks buying.
- 3:48We've already had tons and tons of retail sales that are going
- 3:51up. Then we had the tech industry
- 3:53step in and start purchasing and the new, the, the highs that
- 3:57we've been hitting, they're continuing in the purchasing is
- 4:00continuing. The, the shortage is continuing.
- 4:03The news about gold and silver is continuing.
- 4:06So more people are jumping into the gold and silver game and,
- 4:11and there's no, there, there doesn't seem to be any scenario
- 4:16where the usage of silver is going to go down, not anytime
- 4:19soon. And that means there's more
- 4:21highs to come. I, I'm, I'm thinking we're going
- 4:23to have $300.00 an ounce silver. We might even spike up around
- 4:27$500.00 an ounce. And, and that's, that's what
- 4:30I've been watching since September and that's what I've
- 4:33been talking about since September was that very thing.
- 4:35So there's more highs to come. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:37Thank you. And you know, I know Michael
- 4:39Oliver has recently and he's super respected person in the
- 4:43gold and silver community. He's a guy.
- 4:46He's not a permeable. He's not a person who for
- 4:49decades has said, oh, silver's going.
- 4:50I mean, many times he said silver and gold are going to go
- 4:53down. And he's mentioned the
- 4:55possibility that silver, like you said, could reach $500.00 an
- 4:59ounce in the coming months. I mean, it's crazy to think,
- 5:04right, like you said back in September at 46 dollar silver,
- 5:07people are saying, oh, it's, it's you know, it's too high.
- 5:10I don't want to buy. I don't want to buy.
- 5:12I think, and I heard this said the other day, and I think it's
- 5:14a powerful statement that that someone mentioned that the
- 5:18mainstream media is still kind of feeding out this narrative
- 5:22that oh, silver's overbought silver's in a bubble.
- 5:25But the reality could really be that silver in particular and
- 5:29gold are be are just being repriced that they're making up
- 5:33for decades worth of what some people may speculate was were
- 5:38met was manipulation by the big paper exchanges.
- 5:41And now the physical is actually taking over, which corroborates
- 5:46with what you said about, you know, the big tech companies and
- 5:48just, you know, Samsung investing in a mine in Mexico.
- 5:53Keith Neumeyer just the other day publicly said that he had
- 5:57three calls from from I know it was India or China by people
- 6:01wanting to source silver directly.
- 6:03And the CEO of Cooya Silver was on with Chris, Chris Marcus on
- 6:06Arcadia saying that he'd gotten the calls from, I think, one
- 6:11from India and one from China. Like these people want silver
- 6:14right now? That's right.
- 6:16And and you know, with the media, of course they're going
- 6:19to be talking it down saying that that they're going to be
- 6:23selling off and and things like that because look at who owns
- 6:26them. You know, I mean, there's deep
- 6:28pocket investors that own these media companies that are
- 6:31constantly trying to to give negative light on it.
- 6:34But the fact that the matter still remains that silver is a
- 6:39product that's being used in industry right now and it's
- 6:42being consumed at massive rates. There's no, there's no
- 6:46significant fines in in new silver mines right now.
- 6:49People are buying silver mines, but there's there's very little
- 6:52new discovery of silver happening.
- 6:54So we're having less and less from that front.
- 6:57I also think that in regards to silver and industry, oh, you
- 7:02said something just a moment ago.
- 7:03Well, I'll interject. I'll I'll interject because it
- 7:06and it makes sense what you said, right.
- 7:08And Marin Catoosa just had a chart out the other day that
- 7:12showed the amount of silver exploration that's now going on
- 7:16and it has ticked up a little bit.
- 7:18But there was another data point on that chart that showed the
- 7:21actual like high grade discoveries.
- 7:24And despite the fact that that the just recently silver
- 7:27exploration has ticked up, they aren't finding a lot of high
- 7:31grade silver discoveries. And to make matters even worse,
- 7:36right, because we had these decades of low silver prices,
- 7:41hardly anybody went out and explored for silver.
- 7:44Hardly anybody tried to develop silver mines, hardly anybody
- 7:49built silver mines. So we've got this and it takes a
- 7:52decade to build a silver mine, you know, or five years,
- 7:55whatever, under the best of circumstances.
- 7:58That's right. And it takes it's, it's by the
- 8:01time you discover silver, it takes like what, 15 years to
- 8:05actually have silver. Like you discover it and then
- 8:08you build a mine for it and you got to you got to dig it out and
- 8:10you got to refine it. So you're right, people haven't
- 8:13been building these mines for this.
- 8:15But on top of that, it doesn't matter if if exploration has
- 8:18ticked up, they're not finding it.
- 8:20It's not there. You said a moment ago that
- 8:23there's like a revaluation of silver happening.
- 8:25That's definitely happening. We went through a pandemic where
- 8:29there was massive spending by governments.
- 8:31And from there we got massive inflation for two or three years
- 8:35of massive inflation. And what follows after
- 8:38inflation, commodities go up, the cost of goods go up, rent
- 8:41goes up, up, and then metals go up and then wages go up.
- 8:44So we're just on the final tier of this revaluation just from
- 8:48the inflation, not, you know, that's not the other factors,
- 8:51but the metals always go up at the at the end of an inflation
- 8:55period. The metals are one of the last
- 8:58thing that go up right before wages go.
- 9:02Yep, Yep, Yep. And I know you deal with people
- 9:04everyday with physical metals, silver and gold.
- 9:09And I think the reality is that a very, it's still a very small
- 9:13percentage of people out there that are aware or invest in the
- 9:17metals and the mainstream media can only ignore it for so long.
- 9:23You know, I think another big reason why the mainstream media
- 9:26has always been kind of negative on precious metals is because
- 9:29there aren't a lot of advertisers.
- 9:31There's not a lot of advertising money in the in the mainstream
- 9:34financial sector. They don't really have a lot of
- 9:37easy ways that they can make big commissions off it.
- 9:39I've heard that said many, many times, right?
- 9:41So silver and gold have always been kind of pushed to the side,
- 9:45pushed to the side. But something very interesting
- 9:48happened yesterday. I'm going to share a couple
- 9:50things right now. Number one, this comes from CNBC
- 9:55and, and these, these are interesting on several levels to
- 9:59get the right screen pulled up for everybody.
- 10:02Hold on one second here. Yep, OK, should be up.
- 10:05Here's the CNBC headline from yesterday.
- 10:07Gold breaks new record on Greenland tariff threats and now
- 10:11a $7000 level is in the cards. I think this is important
- 10:16because number one, I'm seeing more and more articles from the
- 10:19mainstream media, including CNBC, which is like, you know,
- 10:23kind of like the McDonald's of, of, of mainstream financial
- 10:28data. But they're, they even mentioned
- 10:29down here in this article. Did Julia do a senior
- 10:34commodities strategist at ICBC Standard Bank is now seeing gold
- 10:39pushing as high as $7100.00. But what really got me
- 10:46interested yesterday when it came to CNBC is this picture
- 10:49here, which is a live picture of my television set while I was
- 10:54eating lunch. This just I watched CNBC for
- 10:56about 3 1/2 minutes every day. But this showed the Dow Jones
- 11:01Industrial Average yesterday down 1.67%.
- 11:04Yesterday was a very difficult day in the general markets.
- 11:07The NASDAQ I think was down 2%. Obviously in the S&P was down
- 11:121.88%. So this is a picture I took.
- 11:16I froze the screen, but then they couldn't ignore it.
- 11:19Adam, right there, market sell off, but then it says gold and
- 11:22silver hit record highs. So I think this is interesting
- 11:27and important from 2 perspectives #1 that's on CNBC.
- 11:31But #2 the fact that we had a day where, hold on, get you back
- 11:36up there. Sorry, Adam.
- 11:37We had a day where the general markets did poorly, but the
- 11:41precious metals did extremely well, OK?
- 11:45And we've gone through kind of a couple decades where we were
- 11:48programmed to think, well, if the stock market goes down,
- 11:51silver and gold are going to sell off because people need
- 11:53liquidity, blah, blah, blah. But we are truly in a new
- 11:57environment now for silver and gold.
- 11:59And if we're in this new environment, and this has
- 12:01happened many times, it happened during the Great Depression.
- 12:04It happened I think during the 70s where where gold and silver
- 12:08can absolutely decouple from what's going on in the general
- 12:12markets if the general stock market is going down.
- 12:15And then yesterday at the same time, we also had the bond
- 12:19market having them in. The bond yields are spiking,
- 12:22bond prices are going down. People are looking around
- 12:25saying, OK, the stock market is pretty darn high right now.
- 12:29OK, bonds are going down in value.
- 12:31Because we could talk for hours about the fact that there's so
- 12:35much debt in the world that people are losing confidence in,
- 12:38in sovereign debt. Real estate's real pricey.
- 12:41Where else are they going to put their money to preserve their
- 12:44wealth? And they are moving into
- 12:46precious metals. Any thoughts on that?
- 12:49Well, yeah, my first thought is, is that for the last 5000 years,
- 12:53people have been using gold and silver to protect their wealth.
- 12:57They use gold to preserve their wealth and carry it from one
- 13:00generation to the other in silver in order to spend their
- 13:04wealth. So gold is to is to preserve
- 13:07your wealth and in silver is for spending.
- 13:09And it's been that way for 5000 years.
- 13:12And so this to me, and the way I've always bought gold and
- 13:15silver and used it in my own portfolios is I've always waited
- 13:20for these down markets whenever the stock market starts to drop,
- 13:24whenever wegetthese.com busts and and things like that.
- 13:28The housing market crash was another one that took place and
- 13:32that is the opportunity to own gold and silver as those markets
- 13:38drop. I've always seen the metals
- 13:40markets go up and tick up because it maintains, it
- 13:44maintains its value over time. And so for me, the metals, it's,
- 13:52it's a regular cycle. It's a regular cycle.
- 13:54We have 10 years of economic boom, then we had a downturn and
- 13:57then you see your metals coming up and, and that's the way I've
- 14:00always played it. It all comes in cycles.
- 14:03Yep, Yep, Yep. And you know, even if we look
- 14:06back to the 1970s when we had a big long period of stagflation,
- 14:11right? I mean, silver and gold
- 14:13performed incredibly. I know silver went from like a
- 14:17dollar an ounce at the beginning of the 70s all the way to its
- 14:20high of 50, nominal high of $50 per oz in in 1980.
- 14:26And it's, I don't know, it's just really truly unprecedented
- 14:30times that we're living through right now.
- 14:32I need to say thanks to my sponsors and then I want to talk
- 14:35about the COMEX and some data that we're getting from there.
- 14:39I mean, are the days of the COMEX in the LBMA stipulating
- 14:43the prices of of silver and gold over?
- 14:46I'm going to look at some data and get your perspective on that
- 14:49as well. But I do want to say thank you
- 14:51to channel sponsor first meant right, They are the silver
- 14:54specialist meant they get their silver from the company that
- 14:58owns them First Majestic. They mine it in Mexico.
- 15:02It goes to Las Vegas, NV, gets turned into world class silver
- 15:06bullion products, and then it goes directly from you premium
- 15:10retail experience. Everyone in the community, we're
- 15:13getting so much positive feedback on 1st Mint.
- 15:15Check out First mint.com. Free shipping on orders over
- 15:19$299. And while we're at it, I'll say
- 15:22thank you to channel sponsor First Mining Gold.
- 15:27They're a development stage gold company with two huge projects
- 15:30in Canada. The gold's there, it's in the
- 15:33ground, it's been determined, and it's very unusual to have
- 15:37two massive projects in Canada, a safe jurisdiction Spring Pool
- 15:42in Ontario and Duparque located in Quebec.
- 15:45You can learn more about them at firstmininggold.com.
- 15:49Adam, do you think, Mr. Van, do you think that the Comex and the
- 15:55LBMA are manipulate, have manipulated the price of silver
- 15:59and gold over the last few decades?
- 16:03Without a doubt. Look at the most recent thing
- 16:05that happened where the LBMA where they had a shortage of
- 16:11silver. Who was it that bailed them out?
- 16:13Who was it that shipped, you know, tons and tons of silver
- 16:16over to their market? It was comics.
- 16:18Comics built bailed them out. So they're working very closely
- 16:20together. And if you have two gigantic
- 16:23organizations like this that probably hold us, I don't even
- 16:27know what the percentage would be, but it's a significant
- 16:29percentage of the, the, the metals market.
- 16:33And you have these guys working so closely together, it wouldn't
- 16:36be very hard at all for them to, to manipulate the market.
- 16:39They can hold some silver and cause, you know, a drought and
- 16:43then they can also flood the market and cause it to go down
- 16:45depending on what their needs are.
- 16:47And you know that that happened right there whenever the the the
- 16:51exchange got in trouble, they sent a comex bailed them out.
- 16:56So I definitely think that they're absolutely they have
- 16:59power over the market like that. I forget who it was that was
- 17:03caught for spoofing. Remember, there was.
- 17:05JP. Morgan, yeah, JP Morgan $290
- 17:09million fine for spoofing, you know, and so.
- 17:12People went to jail. People went to.
- 17:15Jail for that there was jail time.
- 17:17I didn't, I, I that must have that detail, must have, you
- 17:20know, escaped my mind. But those are serious things,
- 17:24you know, jail time's a serious thing, $293 million fine is a is
- 17:29a serious thing. And of course, all these large
- 17:33investors and large organizations, they are
- 17:36absolutely working together on these things.
- 17:40But The thing is, is there's only 10 of them, right?
- 17:43There's 10 people that are major players in these markets.
- 17:47They all go to dinner together, you know, So it's, it's not far
- 17:51fetched to think that they're controlling the market,
- 17:53manipulating it, however you want to word it.
- 17:55Working together, you know, doesn't have to be nefarious,
- 17:58but when you're going to dinner with the same nine people that
- 18:00are in your industry, that are controlling the market,
- 18:03conversations are had, biases are acted upon.
- 18:06Yep. And that and that's been proven.
- 18:09But what about this fact that are things really different now?
- 18:14I happen to believe they are right.
- 18:16When we look back at at the 2011 high in silver, for instance, or
- 18:21we look back at the 1980 high in silver.
- 18:25Aren't things different now when you look to the East, when we
- 18:29look at China, when we look at Hong Kong, when we look at
- 18:32India, when we look at the fact that these countries, right, are
- 18:37in much different positions now in terms of the power they can
- 18:41exert over the market? And are we in a new era of price
- 18:45discovery for both gold and silver?
- 18:48And I know there's some definite nuances and differences between
- 18:51those two markets, but it sure feels like to me, right?
- 18:54Like this, this time. I was having this conversation
- 18:57with a friend of mine last night who's a big investor.
- 18:59He's like, well, silver went to $50 and 2011 and then it crashed
- 19:03or whatever, you know? And, and I said yeah, and, and,
- 19:07and then he said, and of course you're going to tell me this
- 19:08time is different. And I said yeah, because this
- 19:11time really is different, right? Like we have a new pricing
- 19:15regime or, or, or pricing scenario that's really being
- 19:21influenced by different players. I think on gold, we're looking
- 19:24at central banks, right? And even a big giant crypto
- 19:27company, Tether, who's now the biggest buyer of gold outside of
- 19:31the central banks. And with silver in particular,
- 19:34we've got fundamentals that are different, right, with all the
- 19:37industrial uses, but we also have China and India that are
- 19:41major players now in the world. That's right.
- 19:45And there's so many factors there that are making this
- 19:47different. Number one, we have
- 19:49communication like we never had before.
- 19:51Now in just a moment we have these magic rectangles of of
- 19:55infinite information that we have in our pockets.
- 19:57So if somebody's doing something nefarious or spoofing usually on
- 20:02X or or any of those other chatting.
- 20:06Social media platforms, you'll find out in an hour or two of
- 20:09what the news is and what's going on.
- 20:11So the days of being able to kind of pull the the rug over
- 20:15people is, are definitely limited now because there's so
- 20:19much more communication. And then on top of that, we have
- 20:22these very strange things happening in geopolitical terms.
- 20:26So in, in 2018, we ended the Petro dollar.
- 20:30That was a treaty that started in World War 2.
- 20:33And as soon as that happened, all these other countries, they
- 20:36started talking about what's the new economy that we're going to
- 20:38have? Are we going to keep the Petro
- 20:40dollar? Are we going to move on to
- 20:41something else? So we're we've been having
- 20:44conversations for the better part of a decade now on what are
- 20:48the other options besides using the dollar as the the world's
- 20:52reserve currency and what has been the world's currency for
- 20:56the past 5000 years? It's been gold and silver
- 21:00anytime human beings throughout the existence of humans, anytime
- 21:04they pick up that gold Orem, the gold Nuggets or the gold flakes,
- 21:09anytime humans see it, they pick it up and they don't put it
- 21:12down. And that has been our currency
- 21:14for thousands of years. And that's what we're going to
- 21:17fall back to. So there's a lot of reasons why
- 21:19this time is different. We have different government
- 21:22structures. We have different economic
- 21:24structures. We have crypto currencies that
- 21:26are popping up. There's a whole lot of reasons
- 21:28why this one's different. And to go back to what your
- 21:31friend was saying about the market boom and bust in the 90s,
- 21:35when it shot up to $50, if we use that in today's dollars,
- 21:39that means it would shoot up to about $550 before it would
- 21:43crash. So even in a radical scenario
- 21:47where we're in a bubble that's going to go up and pop, we've
- 21:49still got a long way to go, $550 silver just to match what
- 21:54happened in the 90s. Yeah, yeah, here.
- 21:56I'm going to, I'm going to put this up.
- 21:58Hopefully people can see it. I drew a line from zero to 5000
- 22:02to 5000 years, and then I drew a little box in there which
- 22:06represents the US dollar. They look.
- 22:09Brilliant. That's brilliant.
- 22:11I mean, it's a blip on the screen and you could put, you
- 22:14could put all kinds of other boxes on that, on that bar for
- 22:18the hundreds, if not thousands of other Fiat currencies that
- 22:22have that have ended in disaster, right?
- 22:25Paper money once. I mean, and look, I love my
- 22:28country. I love the fact that we have
- 22:29gold and silver in our Constitution.
- 22:31I think it was brilliant. I don't like what happened in
- 22:331971 when President Richard Nixon temporarily took us off
- 22:38the gold standard. And since that day in 1971 when
- 22:42I was one year old and cried like a baby all day long, the US
- 22:46dollar, since we took it off the gold standard has lost 99% of
- 22:50its power, purchasing power versus gold.
- 22:53So, you know, the evidence is a little overwhelming on all this.
- 22:58Something else I want to talk about that I appreciate you
- 23:00bringing up. So I think it's big in terms of
- 23:02this time is different with the gold price and the silver price.
- 23:06You nailed it, right? I mean, geopolitically the
- 23:09world, that's a very broad term, but the relationships between
- 23:13countries are way different right now than they were in 2011
- 23:18and especially in 1980, right? I mean, things are way different
- 23:22now. And on top of that, Adam, the
- 23:25cherry on top, which you and I are not happy about, but from a
- 23:29financial perspective, the United States and also really
- 23:34the entire world is in a state of debt crisis that nobody wants
- 23:38to talk about, right? So when you compare now to 1980
- 23:43and you look at the geopolitical relationships, but you add on
- 23:46top of that all this debt, all this make believe, you know,
- 23:51fantasy island money that's been created.
- 23:54We really are in a different situation right now.
- 23:57But The thing is, only 2% of the people realize it.
- 24:01We got 1500 of them with us right now. 1600.
- 24:05Thank you, all of you for joining myself and Mr. Van in
- 24:08the basement. By the way, please subscribe to
- 24:11the channel and I'll tell you how to get a hold of Mr. Van at
- 24:14the end of the video. Remind me to do that, please,
- 24:17Mr. Van. Yeah, will do.
- 24:21It's you can call me anything you want.
- 24:22It's all right. We're all we're all friends
- 24:25here. So it's all good.
- 24:26No pressure there. Yeah, you're, you're absolutely
- 24:29right that geopolitically things are just 100% different.
- 24:33And and I think it's really cool that that you've got this show
- 24:38on here to where you're able to make people aware.
- 24:40You know, I don't want to segue too far off of topic, but if you
- 24:43really want to know what the real evil is and the real
- 24:47criminal aspect that has gripped all of the citizens in in our
- 24:52country for sure. But in large part the world is
- 24:56debt. And that right there since 1971,
- 24:59we've been taking on debt as a country and as citizens, we've
- 25:02been taking on debt. And that is really the, the real
- 25:06evil that has taken place here is we now have been conditioned
- 25:09to think that debt is normal. And that's not normal.
- 25:12That's another thing about gold and silver is you're not in debt
- 25:16with gold and silver. You hold it, you own it and
- 25:20it's, and it's kind of resistant to inflation.
- 25:23It, you know it, everybody calls it, you know, resistant to
- 25:26inflation, but it's also a little bit resistant in debt
- 25:29because your debt goes down because that's what happens with
- 25:33inflation. But the value of that gold and
- 25:35silver goes up. And that can help save you in
- 25:38those debt situations. But I don't mean to get off.
- 25:40No, no, no. No, no, it's I'll say this, I'm
- 25:44not a financial advisor. None of this is financial
- 25:47advice, but I will give one absolute piece of financial
- 25:50advice and that is that is evil. I hate that.
- 25:54I've always hated that I studied money deeply in college.
- 25:57I work for a BIG4 accounting firm, La Dee da.
- 26:00I understand how money works. Trust me folks, that is evil,
- 26:04right? And when you own this stuff,
- 26:06right, here's a the one ounce lost the backside of the one
- 26:09ounce Las Vegas silver round from Bursman.
- 26:12When you hold this right, this is like a value battery.
- 26:16My good friend bald guy Money said that on a live stream with
- 26:19me a couple years ago. And it made sense, right?
- 26:21Like this is value. The other thing is when you hold
- 26:26this in your hand, there's no counterparty risk.
- 26:29I'm not relying on anybody else to deliver the value.
- 26:33I got it, it's in my hands and there's no bank or financial
- 26:37institution or anything else that you're relying upon.
- 26:40So I don't mind you going on a little rant about debt because I
- 26:43don't like that. You know, it may sound harsh,
- 26:47but but I hear it all the time and I agree with it that like
- 26:50debt is slavery. It's like to me it's almost
- 26:53modern day slavery unless you're using it the like if you borrow
- 26:58$100,000 to start a business that you're going to, that
- 27:02you're going to generate more income for yourself with and,
- 27:05and eventually pay the debt off. I still, you know, I just, I'm
- 27:08not a big fan of debt at all. It's a very dangerous tool that
- 27:12we have in our economy and people don't understand it.
- 27:15And if you really want to know what real freedom is, real
- 27:19liberty and real freedom, it's debt free.
- 27:21And that's the real liberty and freedom.
- 27:23So anyone who's struggling with debt, that is a real struggle
- 27:26and it needs to be taken seriously.
- 27:27And you got to get out of debt. But you know I'm not a.
- 27:30Financial advisor, But that's a pretty easy, that's a pretty
- 27:33easy thing, you know, get out of debt and metals are a way to do
- 27:36that when you invest. I deal with this every day.
- 27:39When members come in, they don't know anything about gold and
- 27:42silver, but it's in the news or they they just watched Ron's
- 27:45Basement and they want to know more about metals.
- 27:47So they come see me and you'd be surprised how many people bring
- 27:50up Ron's Basement in my shop. But they come in and they want
- 27:54to know more about buying and trading in gold because it's a
- 27:57hedge against inflation. And I teach them if they start
- 28:00buying $25 or $50.00 or $10.00 or $5 in gold and silver, as
- 28:06soon as that goes up, as soon as they start a little tiny stack
- 28:09of gold and silver, that when that value goes up, it triggers
- 28:14something, they get it, you know, like this is, this is my
- 28:17answer to get out of debt. And I've taken people from $25 a
- 28:21week to a $10,000 threshold. I helped them liquidate it and,
- 28:26and we paid off their debt. And that's, that's huge.
- 28:28I can't that right there. If I could do that every day, I
- 28:32would do that every day. Just help people get out of that
- 28:34situation. And gold and silver is a way
- 28:37it's, it's a medium for doing that.
- 28:39Yeah, Yeah. I mean, I mean, one final point,
- 28:41I'll say on debt is like if you owe somebody money, they own you
- 28:45to a certain degree. I mean, it may be not, not fun
- 28:48for people to hear that. But if, if I owe somebody
- 28:51$20,000, which I don't, but if I did, they own me basically.
- 28:57And if you really want freedom, then yeah, I I'm with you 100%,
- 29:01my friend. You know, eliminate that.
- 29:03I would always, you know, I would always say make that your
- 29:06top priority. But again, excuse me, I'm not a
- 29:10financial advisor. Let's go look at some COMEX
- 29:12data. We're going to shift gears here
- 29:14for a second and then we'll come back and we're going to learn
- 29:17about the the bricks. That was a BRICS, Brazil,
- 29:21Russia, India, China, South Africa.
- 29:24Part of what Adam talked about earlier was this idea that kind
- 29:29of the World Economic system has been going through a big, major
- 29:33change. And there's some big news that's
- 29:35come out recently about the bricks unit, which is super
- 29:39interesting. And I want to get Adam's
- 29:40perspectives. I know it's something that's
- 29:42been of great interest to you on that as well.
- 29:45But just to wrap up here on what's going on with the Comex,
- 29:49this was real interesting. Hamza Serenade, one of our
- 29:53favorite contributors, brought this up.
- 29:55He says this is not normal we're going to talk about the mints
- 29:59Firth Perth Mint halts small gold bars one ounce plus only
- 30:04not because of price, not because of sentiment because
- 30:07their capacity is maxed out and what this is showing us right
- 30:12and we're hearing this from a number of mints, big mints
- 30:14around the world. I know at Max, CEO put out a big
- 30:18note the other day about reduce supply that's available to the
- 30:22market because of unprecedented demand for physical bullion.
- 30:27And it's showing us that the mints just can't keep up with
- 30:31what's going on. So that one came from the Perth
- 30:34Mint and then we're going to switch over here to silver trade
- 30:38who gave us some pretty incredible data yesterday from
- 30:41COMEX the Comax right the the home of fantasy Island silver
- 30:47paper electronic silver, their depository update.
- 30:51That's the metal they have the kind of backs everything up.
- 30:54It mean these numbers are crazy that the amount of silver being
- 30:59drained from the COMEX from Asahi Brinks CNT withdrawals
- 31:04from the Delaware depository. JP Morgan withdrew looks like
- 31:08what, over 1,000,000 oz and Loomis and Stone X, who's a big
- 31:13player. Woah, 32?
- 31:15Does that know that's 32,000 from from them?
- 31:18So what we're seeing is, is that physical metal is being drained
- 31:25from these paper markets, like the paper markets trying to
- 31:29maintain a certain quote UN quote price.
- 31:32But from around the world, people are saying, hey, we want
- 31:35our metal. Do you think that's an accurate
- 31:38assessment of the situation, Mr. Van?
- 31:41It's. Definitely, yeah, it's
- 31:43definitely that. And we're not just talking about
- 31:44people, we're talking about large organizations and
- 31:47governments. Governments are getting off of
- 31:50the paper economy and they're buying not just silver rounds or
- 31:56barge, they're buying pallet loads.
- 31:58Thousands of pounds, tons of silver, tons of gold.
- 32:03I'm sure the numbers are higher now, but I think last year China
- 32:09bought 1000 tons of gold and silver to to boost up their
- 32:16their markets. So the the whole world is
- 32:19transitioning at least in part, you know, into physical metal
- 32:25assets. And so it's without a doubt
- 32:28people are act are definitely moving away from the paper
- 32:32economy to a physical economy and they're moving into other
- 32:36assets. OK, let's we'll refine this just
- 32:39a little bit. It might be a paper, a paper
- 32:43asset that you're using, but it's backed by gold.
- 32:46And that's happening more and more.
- 32:47We're getting what there's now plans in the making to make a
- 32:51digital currency, which is a public Ledger that is backed in
- 32:55gold. There's paper economies that are
- 32:58starting to back themselves in gold and and silver.
- 33:02I'm I'm the gold guy, Ron, you're the silver guy.
- 33:05So I always default the gold, but but yeah, so, so without a
- 33:09doubt they have people are moving away from paper economies
- 33:12and they're moving into either gold and silver economies or
- 33:15gold and silver backed economies.
- 33:18Yeah, yeah. And I saw a report the other day
- 33:20in China about, you know, China's and, you know, you
- 33:23really got to dig deep to find this information.
- 33:25But China's actually doing a lot of QE right now, a lot of money
- 33:30printing. And it's super interesting.
- 33:33And it tells us something very important that China's printing
- 33:36a lot of money, but they're a little bit different.
- 33:39Like we print a lot of money here in the United States, and
- 33:42God knows what we spend it on, right?
- 33:44I mean, we could go on for hours about the amount of waste that
- 33:47our government. But our government, one thing
- 33:49they're not, well, maybe it's starting to change, which is a
- 33:52whole different interesting topic.
- 33:54But typically, traditionally our government would print money and
- 33:57they weren't using it to buy metals or or a lot of resources.
- 34:01Whereas in China, they're printing a lot of money.
- 34:05They got to give them a little credit, right?
- 34:06They're printing money and they're using a good portion of
- 34:09that money to acquire metals, to acquire other real commodities,
- 34:14real resources for their economy.
- 34:17So it's a, it's an interesting situation.
- 34:20You know, I was on, had Dan Wilton, the CEO of first mining
- 34:24gold on here about 6-7, eight weeks ago.
- 34:27And, and, and I think we were as far as I heard the first people
- 34:30to say it like there's a scramble going on right now in
- 34:34the world, right? That goes back to that
- 34:36geopolitical factor that you talked about earlier.
- 34:39There really is a real scramble in the world to, for people to
- 34:43get their hands on real assets. Like they're saying, like
- 34:45they're all waking up saying oh boy, this paper make believe
- 34:49fantasy island paper money really is just that, paper money
- 34:54backed by promises. I'm going to use my paper money
- 34:58to get into some real assets and do it sooner as opposed to
- 35:01later. That's right.
- 35:03Yeah. People are are they're, they're
- 35:06decoupling from the dollar, you know, and I'm all about America
- 35:09first and everything else, you know, because I live here and I
- 35:12think this country's great, but we have to face the music that
- 35:15the world is changing and we're moving.
- 35:18We're moving to something different.
- 35:20Now you mentioned that China prints money for different
- 35:23reasons than America. America in the past has been
- 35:26printing money, increasing the the money supply in order to
- 35:31loan it out and create debt. Now that's corporate debt.
- 35:35You know, these are banks and things like that.
- 35:37But nonetheless, the paper dollar has been a debt based
- 35:41instrument for 50 years. China recently, this is my
- 35:45opinion. I, I read for three or four
- 35:48hours in the morning about these different topics and I try to, I
- 35:52try to pick up on what's not being said.
- 35:54So I try to read between the lines and I try to, I try to
- 35:57listen for the part that nobody's saying what I see with
- 36:00China and printing all of this money.
- 36:02They're increasing their money supply because they're, they
- 36:06need more yuan out in the market because they're going to start
- 36:10doing different types of trades. They're going to start backing
- 36:14the gold corridor and the unit and they're going to start
- 36:18propping up other economies, the, you know, India and, and,
- 36:25and the BRICS nations and, and those other economies, they're
- 36:28going to start using the yuan there.
- 36:31This is all public knowledge and and what I think is the reason
- 36:35why China's printing all these, they have to have more yuan
- 36:38units in circulation so they can pick up and support these other
- 36:43these other countries and promote their economies.
- 36:46And and and wouldn't it make sense if they are printing yuan
- 36:50and they're using a portion of that to buy gold, buy silver by
- 36:54that like by default if they're printing it and buying silver
- 36:59and gold that it kind of is then backed by silver and gold?
- 37:02I don't does that make sense? I mean, it's an interesting it.
- 37:05It makes sense. And that's the, that's the
- 37:08promise that they're, that they're making with these
- 37:10countries that are buying their yuan, their swap the dollar.
- 37:14They're, they're taking dollars off their books.
- 37:17They're buying yuan with the expectation that eventually the
- 37:20yuan is going to be backed by gold partially back.
- 37:24And that's that's the expectation.
- 37:27Yeah, yeah. So.
- 37:28So when we talk about this bricks unit, I'm fascinated to
- 37:31hear your perspective, and I want you to explain it like
- 37:34you're talking to a guy in his basement in Saint Louis.
- 37:38But this bricks unit in, in the gold corridor, what's the what,
- 37:42what's your read on what's going on there?
- 37:44Because it, I think it does have right as we look out 10 years
- 37:48from now. I mean, what's this conversation
- 37:50going to look like 10 years from now?
- 37:52Because we're going to be having it, me and you in the 1700
- 37:56people that are joining us live right now.
- 37:58What are the implications of this bricks unit and any
- 38:02insights you could share there? Yeah, well, it's not ten years
- 38:06from now, it's going to be 2027. They practiced, they did a trial
- 38:10run of the unit last year between May and October.
- 38:15I think they did a trial run of it, you know, to, to work out
- 38:17some of the bugs. This started the, the, the BRICS
- 38:22nations and the unit and everything started way back in
- 38:252018 when China approached the UN and they started talking
- 38:30about having gold backed yuan. And everybody kind of liked the
- 38:34idea of having, you know, they knew something's going to change
- 38:37with the dollar. Nobody knew back then what was
- 38:39going to change. But the World War 2 treaty was
- 38:41ending. So the conversation's going to
- 38:43be had. And China presented the yuan as
- 38:48an option, as an alternative to the, to the dollar and they said
- 38:51it'll be backed in gold. And the other nations said, hey,
- 38:53we kind of like that idea of having a gold backed currency.
- 38:56Where are you going to keep the gold?
- 38:57And China, of course, said, oh, we're going to keep it at the
- 39:00Shanghai Gold Exchange. We'll, we'll keep all of it
- 39:02behind our borders and behind our guns.
- 39:05And people didn't really like that.
- 39:06They didn't really care for that at all.
- 39:08So they came back in May of 25, they came back to the UN and
- 39:14started talking to them again about having a gold backed yuan
- 39:18and the, and the, the nation said, OK, what's your
- 39:22development now? How, how far have you come from
- 39:24the first time you presented this to us?
- 39:26And they said that they had an idea for a gold corridor.
- 39:30These are gold owned vaults that are in other countries and
- 39:34they're building a a corridor and they're building this like
- 39:37this is these are physical buildings that are being built
- 39:40and they're going to have Chinese owned vaults in
- 39:43countries with the gold in there that backs the yuan.
- 39:47So if you were in one of these yuan supporting countries, you
- 39:50can take your yuan over to that vault and exchange it for gold.
- 39:55And they said, we kind of like that idea.
- 39:57So now China still owns the vault and owns the gold, but
- 40:01it's inside your country, you know, So it's a little give and
- 40:03take, you know, it puts a little bit of the skin in the game for
- 40:07China. And that's kind of where they
- 40:09started in May. And so then as time developed,
- 40:13you you said that the unit had been around for a couple of
- 40:15years in development. It had been.
- 40:18Around for a couple of years, but they put it into trials last
- 40:21year to see how it was going to work.
- 40:22The unit is very simple. It's a public Ledger that it's a
- 40:27settlement instrument. It's a device so that people can
- 40:31settle assets in a digital manner on a public on a public
- 40:36platform Ledger so that it it provides transparency and
- 40:40honesty. So you take those three things.
- 40:44You take the unit, which is a digital asset settlement device.
- 40:47You take the yuan, which is a Fiat that's tied back into gold,
- 40:51and then you take gold and silver throughout a gold
- 40:55corridor. Now you're talking about real
- 40:57financial stability. I'm not, I'm not promoting the
- 41:01unit or promoting any of these ideas that China's coming up
- 41:05with. But I can't deny that they
- 41:07aren't good ideas. They're, they're good ideas.
- 41:10And the idea of the unit is it would be, it would be backed by
- 41:1440% gold. So not quite the the lock in
- 41:18that the yuan would be, but still having a a digital asset
- 41:23that's backed in 40% gold that's better than what we got right
- 41:26now. Yeah.
- 41:27And, and, and as I remember, there's a additional stipulation
- 41:30that like the other 60%, it has to be with the currency of the
- 41:36member units and that there's, I mean, they've got it locked
- 41:39down. I, it's been 6 or 8 weeks since
- 41:41I read deeply about it, but I remember thinking, wow, that's
- 41:44working. And, and, and so as you
- 41:46understand it, let me just throw out an example.
- 41:49Let's say I'm a country that's involved in this, you know, unit
- 41:54system. And let's say I sell a boatload
- 41:58literally of oil to China and they pay me in yuan, that
- 42:02theoretically then I could take that yuan in in in to one of the
- 42:08Chinese facilities that may very well be in my very own country,
- 42:13right? And that it's backed by real
- 42:15gold that's actually in in my country.
- 42:18And I mean, it's a pretty cool concept.
- 42:20It's wild, actually. Yeah, it's, it's, I think that
- 42:24already happened. Actually, Ron, I think, I think
- 42:27that they did do, wasn't it Saudi Arabia that did the first
- 42:31ever oil deal and they didn't use the dollar?
- 42:34And so those things, the things that we're speculating on that
- 42:39they're happening, it's it's, that's not speculation anymore.
- 42:43The thing is we're a little bit handicapped in this conversation
- 42:45because we've been talking about this for years.
- 42:47And so now we're at the point where everything we've been
- 42:51talking about for years is happening.
- 42:53You know, these are things that you can look up and you can now
- 42:55there's a history to it. It's already happened.
- 42:57So yeah, imagine a day where this where this could be that
- 43:02you're going to have gold in your country and you'll be able
- 43:04to trade for gold for oil. That day was was sometime last
- 43:09year, I think it was in September, October where they
- 43:11made that deal. I was having dinner with in
- 43:14Toronto three years ago with a, with a, an investment banker
- 43:20based in Toronto, very smart guy.
- 43:22And he at that point, this was three years ago, he told me, he
- 43:26said people are already basically buying are the Chinese
- 43:33are buying oil for gold because he said essentially what's
- 43:37happening at that point. This was before all these unit
- 43:39development says China would buy oil and pay for it with yuan and
- 43:44then the Middle Eastern country could go directly to the
- 43:47Shanghai Gold Exchange and buy physical gold with that yuan and
- 43:52get it shipped to their country. So, you know, this is actually
- 43:56been, like you said, in development for years and years.
- 43:59They're not going to talk about it on CNBC or CNN or even Fox
- 44:04News, right, Because most people don't care.
- 44:07Most people don't care to understand it.
- 44:10But the world, the way the world trades in the, in the value
- 44:13attributed to metals is certainly evolving at a very,
- 44:18very rapid pace. And I think there's a great
- 44:20piece of evidence we can look at to corroborate that fact.
- 44:24And that would be the current price in U.S. dollars of silver
- 44:28and gold, no doubt about it. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:33I, I I don't have much to say. You nailed it.
- 44:36That's. A wrap.
- 44:37That's a wrap. The the the Shanghai Gold
- 44:41Exchange for anyone who wants to go down that rabbit hole, just
- 44:44look at how that developed and how that came along from 2018 to
- 44:482020 and it really took off in 2020.
- 44:52I mean to call that a coincidence.
- 44:54The conspiracy theorists will will kind of jump on board with
- 44:57that, that just after the worldwide pandemic started
- 45:02unraveling and unfolding for what we would know for two
- 45:05years, all of a sudden the Shanghai Gold Exchange goes
- 45:08public and and they just have the biggest gains and the
- 45:11biggest sales and the most trades of of, you know, history
- 45:16could have been one of the things that launched put
- 45:18Shanghai on the on the map. You know, I've been following it
- 45:20for a while. But you know, when you're in the
- 45:22forest, you, you can't see the forest for all the trees, right?
- 45:26So yeah. We are, we are, we are
- 45:29absolutely in a new world for the metals.
- 45:32No doubt about it. Mr. Van, thank you for joining
- 45:36me down here in the basement. It's been a very stimulating
- 45:39conversation and I think gives me and my viewers a kind of a
