- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey friend, welcome back to Bible Track Decos.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: I want to thank you so much for joining me today.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Mike and McCurray, your host.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: I am truly privileged.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that you would take of your time, you'd spend a few brief moments with me here on the radio broadcast.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: It truly is a blessing.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: We've been talking this week and we're going to conclude this week with this thought, the household of faith.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: Turn in your Bibles to Matthew chapter 28, Matthew 28, I'll join you there in just a moment.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: This thought was spurred by listening to my father-in-law.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Sing in our studio.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Bibles are actually incorporated where blessed with a beautiful, a functioning studio we
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, use it for the radio broadcast at times, we use it for some of our productions and video or otherwise, but often we'll use it for music production.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now, of course, tracks, gospel tracks are still the main thing at Bible Traxxing Corporate.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: We print millions of them every year and we aren't planning on changing that anytime soon, but God has given us some opportunities to maybe encourage the body of Christ to maybe
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: We have produced, we'll talk more about that in coming days, but recently my father-in-law was in studio.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: We have the opportunity to record some songs of his, yes, they will be keep safe, but I also think they're going to be a blessing to you as he sings his heart out as a good voice.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think they'll be a blessing to you, but while he was singing, I could hear him, even though the rooms are somewhat soundproofed and whatnot.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: I could hear him sing, and it brought to mind the thought.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: This thought, some of that is always very quick to percolate to the top for me.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's a burden of mine, maybe almost an anchor, and I don't mean that in a bad way, but in a way that it grounds me.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a grounding capel would be more apropos, but an anchor that keeps me focused on this thought, multi-generational ministry.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: I have such a strong desire, actually not just about a few weeks ago, had the chance to go with my father-in-law to omissions conference.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: He was kind of representing the Midwest Christian Voice football camp, a camp that's out of our local church, man camp as it's called, and I was representing Bible Tracks Inc. Corporate it as I often do across America and the world, and begin to spend some time with what a blessing it was.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: To spend just a few brief moments, and really in the span of eternity, you know that the average human life span right now, we get about 4,000 weeks on Earth.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: 4,000 weeks in, from the time we left, I guess it was an early, early Friday morning that we left, took a...
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: The whole day to get out there, the mission's conference kind of started.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted the missionaries there on Saturday for early dinner, and so we drove out there pulled in late at night on Friday.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: It was about a 10-11-12 hour drive, and we got out there.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: We were driving our motor home, as we often do for long tracks like that.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: We separated.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: He went back.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I had some preaching obligations and engagements out of that way near Maryland and whatnot.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: But he went back.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was on Friday or so.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so he spent right out of week together.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: One out of 4,000.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: It was a valuable week from a standpoint of spending time with family.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: But also a very ephemeral, very short time in the grand scheme of things, one at a 4,000 weeks, but in a reality, it's nothing in relation to eternity, and yet we've been given this time.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: I look at the value.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: At the time of the only commodity we can't make more, right?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: You can mind for more gold, you can craft more tools, you can print more money, but you can't make more time.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: So we're talking about the household of faith this week.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: Matthew 28, verse 19, we're talking today about and asking this question, who are you investing in?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Who are you investing in?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: We can be moan.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: We can be bothered by the fact that there doesn't seem to be and as is sometimes the case Who doesn't seem to be as many people as we would like investing in us now part of that is because maybe we aren't in the position We need to be the old Greek philosophers.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit Humanistic maybe but the old Greek philosophers would say something along lines of when this student is ready The master will appear.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's an eastern mythology, but regardless
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: truth to it when the student is ready the master will appear.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I ask you, who are you investing in?
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: While we learn, there's often people around us that we could be discipling that we could be investing in.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: In Matthew chapter 28, verse number 19, the Bible says this, go either for and teach all nations.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever I have commanded you in law, I am with you all way, even unto the end of the world.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we often call versus like this part of the Great Commission, and while that is absolutely true, I'd like to apply it in a slightly different way, though we'll still going to talk of angelistically here.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: I want to ask the question, who are you investing in?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: I see the mandate.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: This great commission, even the great commission, underscores the importance.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: The great importance God places of investing in others by teaching them.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: This investment is not just for the immediate household, but extends to all nations
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: of the household.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: A faith.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: Think about it.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: We are, if we are truly honest, we can all trace our lineage back to Adam and Eve.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: Can't we not?
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: We are truly not just in Christ, but we are brothers and sisters.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe multiple, a multitude of times removed, but in the short, the truly
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: We are not that distantly related.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: You say with those people look different than me, of course, a brother and sister can look pretty different can they, but yes, there may be skin tones, there may be colors of hair, the eyes may be different, there may be multiple physical things, short and tall and you name it, even geographically we're separated.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: But I ask and maybe this is more fresh on my mind because as I speak to you, I'm recently reflecting on a wonderful mission's conference that I was a part of the preaching.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you, preachers need preaching.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: And for me personally it's such a refreshing time to sit under great preaching.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: I get to preach a lot of revivals and missions' conferences and services all over the place, but it was refreshing.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: to have an opportunity to bow the knee at an altar, humble myself and talk to God in one of the messages I was recently, so well brought, not just because the preacher was a good preacher, but because he was preaching from his heart, he was preaching truth, spoke about
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: the need for us, for you, for me, to reach those that we come across.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: And these are topics, these are themes that I bring on so often.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's so many occasions, in avenues just like this, when I talk to you about it, but I need to be reminded of it.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever been in the situation where you'd kind of do as I say not as I do?
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: You ever done that as a parent?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure I have, but I do that as a preacher sometimes.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: We all do.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Do as I say, and not as I do because I'm failing at something I'm preaching at.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't desire to be there whenever the Lord corrects me on that.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: I feel crumpled inside.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: I feel as a failure to preach on something I'm not doing as well as I should.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I never want to do that.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: But there are times when the Holy Spirit prompts something to come out of my mouth.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like I'm stabbing myself.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Micah, you're not doing a great job with that, so that's why for me to hear it from another man's voice.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: For me to be preached to his blessing, but I ask you, this is something I will tell you.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: I am actively involved with, I do my absolute best to invest in others.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think of the young men, men of the young men have come to our football camp, May and camp that we hosted our home church, and what a wonderful time we had last year, 300 something young men looking forward to probably an approximation of that same number of this coming year.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to the young men and I'm not an introvert, I wouldn't say I'm an extrovert either.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there's a middle ground in there somewhere, maybe somewhere you can tell me what that actually is.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: But standing there and surrounded by a crusher of people out here in the foyer in the lobby of this beautiful church and just play a set up there talking to people about Bible tracks and people asking questions and these young men come up to me and say, hey, I'm playing with them.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm coming to football camp again this year.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm playing with them.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: In the opportunity to engage with these young men, ask what your names, there was Ben, there was David, and there was Daniel.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: For a young man I was talking to that A, I think it was a Sunday, not long ago.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking to them, finding out their ages, I think there was sixth and eighth grade of our call correctly.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Two of them were sixth and two of them were, one of them was eighth and talking to those young men and finding out about their backgrounds, what they enjoyed doing.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, you two are brothers.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: You're not a brother.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you're from a different family.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Who's your dad?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: They'd point him out.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to them for just a little while crafting a bit of a relationship, finding out about what they think of me.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think about football camp?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think about your coaches asking them if they had a good time?
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, just trying to glean, trying to start trying to help a relationship there.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: I Think about the next time.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I speak to those young men.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: whether in person or from behind a pulpit, so often we divorce from each other, the pulpit ministry from the personal ministry.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: But in reality, they are so intricately woven together.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: That has to guess the next time I preach, or the next time I speak to them,
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: The relationship will have been moved forward.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: They will take what I say from Scripture with a little bit more punch, with a little bit more of an ear to listen, because we just spent 10 minutes, all of maybe 10 minutes speaking and our relationship was continued.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Young men who I could maybe figure out their names, maybe if I thought about it for a while, but got their names again, and now they're kind of more locked into my mind.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna grow up and they're gonna stretch out, get taller, and how much to learn their names again sometimes soon, because they're gonna change so much in the coming days.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: But what a thought.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Who are you investing in?
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: I ask you.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: You should be and we're going to talk tomorrow when I finish up this week of broadcast talking about the household of faith and who's in your household and how to invest in them, but on the grand scale.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Is there anyone that you have?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: We can bemoan the fact that no one, quote unquote, is investing in us, but who are you investing
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you take today, yes, as an encouragement.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Be a part of the Great Commission Use Gospel Tracks, teaching all nations.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Use Gospel Tracks and share the love Christ absolutely, but grow and build relationships as you do so.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to talk more about modeling faith in the home tomorrow on the broadcast.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: There will be a theme for a closing broadcast, modeling faith in the home.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: My prayer is always, is that you have a great day for His glory.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: We'll plan on talking you soon.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for listening.
