- 0:02You are listening to the Cookbook Love podcast with Maggie
- 0:05Green, episode number 3 83.
- 0:10Welcome to the Cookbook Love Podcast, a podcast that celebrates cookbook readers,
- 0:16buyers, collectors, writers and clubs.
- 0:19And now your host.
- 0:20Cookbook author, culinary Dietician, and Cookbook writing Coach Maggie Green.
- 0:31Hi everybody.
- 0:32Welcome back to another episode of the Cookbook Love podcast.
- 0:36Welcome to 2026.
- 0:37I think I probably said that last week, but last week's episode on New Year's
- 0:42Day was recorded in 2025, recorded before the holidays, before I had my
- 0:48reflection time at the end of the year.
- 0:50So this episode really feels different to me because this is in fact the
- 0:56first recorded episode of 2026, and it comes on the heels of me having
- 1:02some time to spend in reflection about 2025, and I'm going to use episode
- 1:093 33, the ins and outs of 2025.
- 1:14As the place to start this show, which is called the ins and outs of
- 1:182026, uh, one of my favorite things to do is to think about things that
- 1:25I want to start doing more of things that I want to stop doing in my life.
- 1:33Um, things that I want to let go of, things that I wanna bring forward.
- 1:37So what I'm gonna do is give you a little bit of a, um.
- 1:42Process I went through, tell you about how I arrived at this, uh,
- 1:46discussion we're gonna have today.
- 1:48I'm gonna give you an update of my 2025 based on what I
- 1:53said was ins and outs of 2025.
- 1:56And we're gonna talk about 2026 and the, uh, the fresh start that
- 1:59we have here in this new year.
- 2:02So a couple of things in order to prepare for this episode, I did two major things.
- 2:10Number one.
- 2:11I went back and listened to episode 3 33.
- 2:15If you want to do some goal setting and make some changes in your
- 2:20life, there's nothing like telling an audience of people hundreds.
- 2:26Thousands of people, what you're going to do for the year, and then going back and
- 2:31listening to it and seeing how you did.
- 2:34So, uh, if you don't have a formal way to record what it is you want to do for the
- 2:42year, maybe write a letter to yourself and send it on January 1st, 2027, back
- 2:51to yourself so that you can read it.
- 2:53But I found it very.
- 2:56Fascinating and it revealed a few things to me, which I'm going to
- 2:59actually talk about when we get into 2026, um, and talking about 2026.
- 3:04But I went back and listened to that episode, took notes about the
- 3:08things I said I was gonna do, what I was gonna let go of, um, how 2025
- 3:12might be a year of more of some things and less of some things.
- 3:17And then I took a trip through my phone.
- 3:21Photos month by month.
- 3:24I looked at all the photos I took in January, February, March, April, all
- 3:28the way through to the end of December, and I compared my list of photos and,
- 3:35uh, things that I did with my photos based on the ins and outs list of, uh,
- 3:432025 that I recorded for the podcast.
- 3:46So, lemme give you an update first.
- 3:49Uh, one of the things that I mentioned that I wanted to explore and do more of
- 3:54was looking at hanging, uh, artwork and, uh, different photos on a gallery wall.
- 4:00A gallery wall is when things are kind of randomly placed on your wall, and it's a
- 4:04way to decorate your house, but use up.
- 4:07Um, several of the photos or pieces of art that you have.
- 4:10Um, I kind of, I've always liked this look of a gallery wall and I
- 4:14did create a small gallery wall in my dining room, so it's four randomly
- 4:18placed, uh, photos and pieces of art.
- 4:22Um, but then it expanded kind of into thinking about doing it in another room.
- 4:27But instead I turned that room into a reading room and a place
- 4:32where I can sit and write and do some, uh, watercolors, which I'm
- 4:36gonna talk about here in a minute.
- 4:38It's on the southeast corner of my home, gets a ton of natural light.
- 4:43It happens to be higher up because of the, uh, pitch of our house than the others.
- 4:48I see the trees a lot.
- 4:50Kind of feels like a little tree house room.
- 4:52So, um, my gallery wall expanded into.
- 4:56Or setting up some things in that room to really make it more usable for me
- 5:01to have another place outside of my cookbook bunker to do some creative things
- 5:06or, and to do some reading, writing, and then gonna talk about watercolor.
- 5:10So the gallery wall was, um.
- 5:15Semi achieved.
- 5:16I do have a big wall in my living room that I think would
- 5:19look great for a gallery wall.
- 5:22Um, I'm not committing to doing that gallery wall over the next 90 days.
- 5:26If it ends up being something that, uh, crops up later in the year,
- 5:30I might pay attention to it then.
- 5:32But for now, I'm not really bringing that plan into 2026.
- 5:38Another thing was photo albums.
- 5:39Um, I talked about committing to looking at my digital photos.
- 5:44Creating photo albums.
- 5:45I did not do that.
- 5:46But what I do, did do, and something that I've always enjoyed doing is
- 5:50every year I make a calendar for our family, our adult children of, uh,
- 5:56pictures from the month, um, on the front facing page of the calendar.
- 6:02So it's a wall calendar that they can use.
- 6:04And um, it's always fun to go back through the photos, look at what
- 6:08we've done together and to put.
- 6:10Uh, special photos on the photo calendar.
- 6:12So I'd say kind of halfway did that, but um, still I have a ton of digital photos.
- 6:19I am sure this is not unique if you have transitioned to
- 6:22using your phone as a camera.
- 6:27Um, everybody's got tons of digital photos, so I still think about that a
- 6:31lot, um, but didn't spend as much time in my brain as I thought it might.
- 6:35But anyway, the photo calendar was a great, um, alternative.
- 6:39Um, another thing I talked about was making sourdough rye bread,
- 6:43and I have decided that is definitely an out for me for 2026.
- 6:48I am not going to focus on anything related to sourdough
- 6:53or bread baking, mainly because.
- 6:57I'm not a, I'm not that big of a baker, and I've always known that about myself.
- 7:02When I'm in the kitchen, it's usually related to preparing savory foods,
- 7:08protein, salads, soups, stews, um, cooking simple dinners for myself Now,
- 7:14Warren and I, um, baking is not something that I do even for fun or for joy.
- 7:21I'll occasionally make, um.
- 7:25My favorite batch of, uh, chocolate chip cookies, which makes a couple cookies
- 7:29that I can bake in the toaster oven or what people maybe now call an air fryer.
- 7:34Um, but baking is just not my thing, and so sourdough, therefore is not my thing.
- 7:41Even making pancakes on the weekend or English muffins not my thing.
- 7:45I would much rather take a trip to a bakery.
- 7:48A local bakery here in the northern Kentucky Cincinnati area, buy a good
- 7:52loaf of bread, slice it, freeze it, and then pull it out and make some toast when
- 7:58we want to have, uh, bread like that.
- 8:00So I think it's not even that, I'm not that much of a baker, but we don't
- 8:04eat a ton of bread on a regular basis.
- 8:07So, uh, the sourdough rye is definitely out.
- 8:11Um, I did pursue it.
- 8:14I did keep my sourdough starter alive.
- 8:17I did get rye flour, but I was realizing as I was spending time
- 8:22doing it, first of all, it, I didn't really think it was that much fun.
- 8:26And second of all, I wasn't using the starter.
- 8:29And if I was, um, we weren't really eating the bread that much,
- 8:34that we were ba I was baking.
- 8:35So even though it sounded like a lot of fun.
- 8:39And I'm sure for people that do a lot of baking, it's great and people
- 8:43that have starters for 20 years and, and bake, um, it's wonderful.
- 8:48Keep, keep up the good work, but it just isn't for me.
- 8:51So that's definitely out.
- 8:54Um, cold weather walks wonderful.
- 8:57I actually think I've turned into a person who prefers to walk in
- 9:02the cold and not in the heat.
- 9:08So a couple of things I noticed though.
- 9:11I tend to like to walk around sunrise and sunrise.
- 9:16Obviously the time changes of sunrise throughout the year and also what
- 9:21else changes is the temperature.
- 9:25Um, cold weather walking though is possible in the afternoon and it's still
- 9:31cold out and it's a bright sunny day.
- 9:33So a couple of things that I've realized, um.
- 9:36Walking every day.
- 9:39Terrific.
- 9:40I can spend 30 minutes walk around my neighborhood.
- 9:44There's a certain thing I only listen to when I walk, and, um, it is an
- 9:49excellent way for me to get out and move.
- 9:52I spend a lot of time sitting as a coach, as a writer, as a podcaster.
- 9:58Um, spend a lot of time at my desk, so the moving is great.
- 10:02The fresh air is great.
- 10:04The light is great, and um, I kind of think of it like taking a cold plunge.
- 10:11You know, people talk about cold plunges.
- 10:12I'm not necessarily interested in jumping in a cold body of water or even taking
- 10:17a cold shower, but for me, a cold walk is an excellent replacement for that.
- 10:22And I have naturally curly hair.
- 10:24It doesn't seem to bother my hair.
- 10:27If the humidity's low and it's cold out, um, summertime and
- 10:30springtime are obviously different.
- 10:32Those shoulder seasons where the temperatures start to creep up, um, I
- 10:36definitely prefer to walk in the morning or later in the evening, maybe around
- 10:41sunset and, uh, then take a bath or a shower and then go to bed and not so much.
- 10:48Um.
- 10:49Cold weather, walking obviously, but more sunset walking rather than sunrise.
- 10:54So I hope that all of this is to say, um, walking has still been
- 11:00an important part of my life.
- 11:01It is definitely in for 2026 and over the holidays I committed to two things every
- 11:08day that was taking a walk and drinking lots of water and, um, I slept great.
- 11:15Felt great.
- 11:17Had a terrific time with my family and, uh, friends over the holidays.
- 11:22Enjoyed my time alone here, um, after everybody, uh, left for the holidays.
- 11:27And I have no doubt that walking and hydration were an
- 11:31important part of, um, that, um.
- 11:35But I did, I didn't even take Tylenol or Ibuprofen all holiday long.
- 11:39So very proud of that.
- 11:40So cold weather, walking great.
- 11:42Definitely in, uh, well, another thing I said for 2025 was in-person shopping
- 11:48and mainly to support the stores that we have here in our area that I like to
- 11:53shop at, especially if you're trying on clothes, um, being able to try things on.
- 11:58And, um, last year I went to a couple of weddings.
- 12:01I did need to buy dresses.
- 12:03It's easier for me to buy dresses and pants if I try them on.
- 12:06There's a couple of stores where I always like to go to do that, and I
- 12:10did make several trips to that store.
- 12:12They had great selection and it was great to be able to do that.
- 12:15Now, the flip side of that is I have also been taking advantage of grocery store.
- 12:23Delivery.
- 12:23Now, some of you may think, well Maggie, this has like, been around for years,
- 12:27but I always valued, um, going to the supermarket and I still do to like, for
- 12:32discovery, um, to see what's out there.
- 12:35And I still plan to do that.
- 12:37But something that's in for me for 2026 is more.
- 12:42Delivery of my pantry items, um, every week and fresh produce meat
- 12:49every week so that I can spend the time that I was going to the grocery,
- 12:55um, either riding or doing my cold weather, walking this time of year.
- 13:01And, um.
- 13:03I think it also helps with not buying things that are necessarily off list.
- 13:07I think it's better for food budgeting.
- 13:10Um, when I shop on the app, I also can take advantage of
- 13:13coupons and things like that.
- 13:14So that's a big switch for me.
- 13:16'cause I think you all know I love to go to the supermarket.
- 13:19I, I think one of the reasons I really liked it is because
- 13:22I work here in my home.
- 13:24My office is in my home, and it gave me a chance to connect with people face to face
- 13:29and to do a little bit, people watching.
- 13:32Kind of paying attention to what people are shopping and buying.
- 13:34So that's a little bit of a shift for me.
- 13:36So in-person shopping, definitely for clothes, but I have to say one
- 13:40thing that's gonna be in for 2026 is seeing how I like, um, getting basic
- 13:47pantry staples and things delivered to my home for, um, for my groceries.
- 13:54Um, another thing that was in, in 20 that I wanted to be in, in 2025 that
- 13:58worked great, that's gonna remain is.
- 14:00Telling myself I have time.
- 14:03I believe I do have time to do anything that I want to do, especially at
- 14:10this phase in my life when all of my children are grown adults and out of
- 14:15the house on their own, and it's me and Warren and I have tons of time.
- 14:23And telling myself that has been great.
- 14:26I, I very rarely think, oh, I don't have time for that.
- 14:30I, um, I really do believe that my time is my life.
- 14:35If I'm alive, I have time.
- 14:39And that's true for all of us.
- 14:41If we are alive, we have.
- 14:44Time, we have minutes of our life that we get to choose how we want to spend them.
- 14:49So telling myself I have time has been life changing.
- 14:53I will definitely carry that over into 2026.
- 14:57Um, I also wanted to create things that were tangible, tactile, and real.
- 15:02I do that in the kitchen a lot obviously.
- 15:05I, um, also did some cross stitch read books, um, physical books.
- 15:11And just have enjoyed this whole concept of creating real tactile things
- 15:17that I can see, uh, taste, touch, feel, smell, something like that.
- 15:23Um, real tangible things.
- 15:25Um, so what's out?
- 15:28Um, and this is kind of combined with what I did from 2025 and then even
- 15:34some new things that are out in 2026.
- 15:38So number one that's out is making sourdough.
- 15:41Or rye bread or thinking I'm a bread baker.
- 15:43Um, 'cause I'm not number two reading on my phone.
- 15:47Um, reading on my Kindle reading newsletters on my phone, um, often
- 15:55takes me down rabbit holes of researching things online on my
- 15:59phone and I am actually tired of it.
- 16:03I want to use my phone for text.
- 16:07I wanna use my phone for phone calls.
- 16:10I wanna use my phone call if I'm traveling or away from home, and I
- 16:15need it to use and check my email.
- 16:18But my phone, it occurred to me is not really a phone.
- 16:24The phone part of my device is now an app.
- 16:28People don't even have to use this thing that we hold in
- 16:32our hands as a phone anymore.
- 16:34It is a small handheld computer, and I. I'm just tired of
- 16:41spending so much time with it.
- 16:46It doesn't care about me.
- 16:48And as a matter of fact, it actually would prefer I spent more time with
- 16:51it, but I'm not going to, I do love to listen to podcasts when I'm walking.
- 16:55I do use it to control the sound system in my home.
- 16:58We have some Sonos speakers.
- 17:00Um, so there's a list of things that I definitely will use it for, but I am done.
- 17:05Was sitting on my phone and using it for, uh, various things
- 17:10that don't create anything.
- 17:12Uh, research and reading and Reddit and all that kind of stuff.
- 17:15I'm, I'm done if I need to do that.
- 17:17It will be at times when I'm at my desktop, at my laptop working
- 17:21and doing some research with an intention and not just this endless,
- 17:25mindless looking and, uh, whatever.
- 17:28So, um, the phone and reading on my phone is, uh, definitely out.
- 17:34The other thing that's out for me is indecision.
- 17:37It occurred to me that I spend a lot of my time making decisions.
- 17:45And going back and forth about options that I have and I ha I think fast
- 17:51decisions is what I wanna be in 2026.
- 17:54Um, clear yeses and nos to myself and to other people.
- 18:00Um, fast decision maker, I think the faster I make decisions.
- 18:04And move forward or not with something, uh, the more of my
- 18:08brainpower is freed up to focus on the things that I wanna focus on.
- 18:11So quick decisions.
- 18:13And I also made a list of, um, open loops.
- 18:16Things that are open loops, things that I started that are open that I
- 18:23need to either finish or let go of.
- 18:27An example is, uh, for example, the gallery wall thing.
- 18:31I kind of had an open loop in my mind all 2025, about doing a gallery wall.
- 18:36And I had that open loop about the sourdough rye and I tried
- 18:40'em, and I've just decided they're not open loops anymore.
- 18:43I'm closing the loop.
- 18:45Sourdoughs done gallery wall for now is done.
- 18:48And that just frees up my mind to do, um, other things.
- 18:51So make a list.
- 18:52There might be open loops of things you can't control.
- 18:56Um, that's not what I'm talking about.
- 18:58I'm talking about loops that you have opened that you need to close
- 19:03or decide not to close, and just being very clear about those.
- 19:09And so, um, I'm gonna take care of the open loops here early that
- 19:14didn't have that long of a list, but.
- 19:16I figured the better I get easier it'll be for me and better just
- 19:19to get rid of those open loops.
- 19:21Um, also out this year, we didn't get tickets to the playhouse this year.
- 19:26Um, there's a comedian, we wanna go see some sporting events we want to attend.
- 19:31So, um, we're not going to do any, uh, play tickets this year.
- 19:36So that's out.
- 19:37Um, in, lemme talk about some of the ins, some of the things
- 19:40that are kind of new this year.
- 19:42Um, I'm thinking a lot about connection this year, connection with people,
- 19:47and I made a list of all the places that I'm connected with people.
- 19:51'cause sometimes when we work from our home, we think we're
- 19:54not connected to people.
- 19:57But the truth of the matter is, every week I am connected to
- 20:03thousands and thousands of people.
- 20:10Every week I am connected to thousands and thousands of people.
- 20:16Number one, if you're listening to this podcast, I'm connected to you.
- 20:23You're connected to me.
- 20:24We may not know each other physically, we may not know, or even, you know,
- 20:29if we met on the street, we maybe wouldn't know it, but it doesn't matter.
- 20:33There still is a connection.
- 20:36I'm so grateful for that and I never forget that there are people
- 20:41on the other end of this microphone listening to what I'm talking about.
- 20:45So connected to you there.
- 20:47I have an email list, thousands of people on my email list,
- 20:50and I'm connected to them.
- 20:53Not all of them read every email I send.
- 20:56Not all of them will remain on my email list.
- 20:58Some of them might unsubscribe, and over the course of the next
- 21:01year, I'll get thousands more.
- 21:03Uh, but I'm thousands of people on my email list.
- 21:06And that's, that's the truth.
- 21:07And so I'm connected there also with people.
- 21:10Um, my family, between brothers, sisters, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, you
- 21:17know, we've got 35, 40 people, my friends.
- 21:25Their children, uh, people I know through a, uh, walking with purpose group that
- 21:31I'm in, people that I know through, um,
- 21:38uh, the par the parish that I belong to, people that I know and, and connected to
- 21:44through, um, things that I know people from when my children were in school,
- 21:50parents that I'm still connected with.
- 21:52Um.
- 21:53On a regular basis.
- 21:56Um, my clients, my customers, my prospects, um, and again, people
- 22:03who are also on my email list.
- 22:06Um, so it's easy to think that we maybe aren't that connected, but I
- 22:12promise if you really sit down and think about it, you probably are.
- 22:16And if you're in business.
- 22:18I think the thing to remember is that growing our base of people who are
- 22:25coming newly into our ecosystem, or into our communities or into our world, is
- 22:31the foundation of a growing business.
- 22:34It's the foundation of a successful business because we always need
- 22:38new people and we need to, um.
- 22:42Keep the people that we already have in our community and then customers
- 22:46that we currently have keeping them, um, engaged and happy with wonderful
- 22:50experiences working with them.
- 22:52So I think it's always important to think about connections with people.
- 22:56And it's not just an email address.
- 22:59It's not just a. A number or a podcast, um, listener.
- 23:04It's not just a follower on social media.
- 23:08At the end of all of those hopefully are real people who are in your community for
- 23:13a reason, and that's why you all are here.
- 23:15And um, I just think it's amazing how many thousands of people I'm
- 23:19connected with, um, on a weekly basis.
- 23:21So connections for me are definitely in, I think about that a lot.
- 23:25I'm gonna spend a lot of time thinking about that in 2026.
- 23:29And, um, the next thing that's in is, I don't think I've told you
- 23:33this yet, but we have two new cats.
- 23:37Um, if you've been following the podcast, we had our, uh, 8-year-old
- 23:43male cat put to sleep in June of 2025.
- 23:47Um, his beautiful cat, very friendly, very loving, and it
- 23:51was very sad because he got sick.
- 23:53I think he actually was probably.
- 23:55Young as it goes in terms of cats, um, to lose him at the age of eight.
- 24:00So I spent a couple of months and most of the summer not having any, uh, cats.
- 24:04And then I have a friend that fosters cats and she was fostering too.
- 24:10Long-haired black female cats.
- 24:14Uh, a mom and her baby mom was about three years old.
- 24:17Baby was about 11 months old, so I visited with them.
- 24:21I spent some time with them and ended up adopting them together
- 24:25because they're a bonded pair, um, in the middle of November.
- 24:29It's been a really fun to watch them evolve, to watch them kind of come
- 24:34out of their shell, to go from, you know, spending time in just one room
- 24:38of our house to now, you know, they go up and down all over the house.
- 24:43Uh, they're very sweet.
- 24:45They kind of sometimes stick to themselves.
- 24:47They have each other to keep each other entertained.
- 24:50Um, they're not always seeking me out for lap time and all
- 24:53that kind of stuff, which is.
- 24:55Uh, perfectly fine, but they're always in the room that I'm in spending time there.
- 25:00So they've been sweet girls.
- 25:01And, um, that is in, in 2026 is having these two new cats.
- 25:08The other thing that's in for me is reading fiction.
- 25:11Um, I tend, I tended to spend a lot of time reading
- 25:15nonfiction might be related to.
- 25:17Um, business psychology, spirituality, theology, um, and I love those
- 25:26kinds of books, but I decided in 2026 I wanna read more fiction.
- 25:31So I'm getting ready to finish my first book.
- 25:33It's called On the Calculation of Volume.
- 25:35Um, this woman, actually, I believe it was a Danish book, but she has written seven.
- 25:43Books called on the calculation of volume, volume 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
- 25:48I'd read volume one.
- 25:49I gotta decide if I'm gonna continue to read, uh, the other volumes because
- 25:54it's about a woman that experiences a Groundhog Day situation where every day
- 25:58when she wakes up, it's November the 18th.
- 26:02Every day and her experience of reliving the same day over and over and over again.
- 26:09Um, got a lot of thoughts about that book.
- 26:11But anyway, so that's the first fiction book I'm reading and I've
- 26:14got other fiction books that I've on my table, um, that I plan to read.
- 26:18So more fiction.
- 26:19Um, the other thing that's in, I did mention it a little bit
- 26:21earlier, is doing watercolors.
- 26:24Um, something that I thought I might do more of in 2025 was writing letters,
- 26:29and I didn't actually write that many letters, but I did continue to send cards.
- 26:34I usually am pretty good about remembering people's birthdays,
- 26:37sending cards, um, sympathy cards, get well cards, thinking of you cards.
- 26:42I love to do that.
- 26:43So I decided if I was going to want to dabble in watercolors.
- 26:47I'm going to work on using watercolors to make some cards and
- 26:53to send those, um, in the mail.
- 26:55So I'll be combining those two little hobbies and we will see how that goes.
- 27:01My 90 day goal here, the first part of the year is to, um, kind of get a
- 27:06space set up where I can do watercolor, um, take a little course about
- 27:12watercolors and um, get rolling on.
- 27:15I'm learning more about that in a small format, which is, I think my
- 27:19cards are gonna be like four by six.
- 27:21So I'm excited about the watercolor opportunity.
- 27:25Um, the other thing that's in that was new in 2025 was feeding the birds.
- 27:29I, uh, started to do that last fall and continued through the winter,
- 27:37even bought some bird seed, um, at a local store that had a bird seed sale.
- 27:42Um.
- 27:44I use Finch food, bigger sunflower seeds.
- 27:48I sprinkle some on the ground, I sprinkle some on a wall.
- 27:51I put some in a feeder.
- 27:53It's been really great and fun to, uh, feed the birds.
- 27:55So I plan to continue that in 2026.
- 27:59I also, um, on my patio this summer had, uh, tomato plants,
- 28:04basil plants, and lots of flowers.
- 28:06We have brick walls on our patio, so it, and it's a southern
- 28:10exposure, so it gets very warm.
- 28:12Basil and tomatoes both like the heat.
- 28:15Um, it was really great to have those.
- 28:17We harvested so many cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes and yellow
- 28:22pear tomatoes and tons of basil.
- 28:25Even brought the, some of the basil in and was able to use some of the plants for,
- 28:29uh, dish I made for a Christmas brunch.
- 28:32I hosted.
- 28:33Um, it's about.
- 28:35Done Now.
- 28:36I haven't, um, kept it going here in the house, but it's been,
- 28:40uh, a lot of fun to have those.
- 28:42And I look forward to starting the seeds, raising the basil plants,
- 28:47and then, um, enjoying that again.
- 28:49Um, all summer and fall, um, in my group coaching program.
- 28:55Uh, for those of you that are interested in writing a
- 28:57cookbook, I will be doing four.
- 28:59Live launches of my cookbook writing program.
- 29:03I plan to do my first launch at the beginning of February.
- 29:08So if you are ri interested in writing a cookbook of your own and
- 29:12finding an agent or a publisher, please be sure to stay tuned.
- 29:17I will have more information about that and some special links and downloads
- 29:22that you can have access to, um, pre um, cookbook writing information.
- 29:28Because I think that writing a cookbook and living the life of a cookbook
- 29:34writer is, uh, just the best thing ever.
- 29:39Uh, food touches people's lives in a way that, um, a lot of other things don't.
- 29:46And.
- 29:47Cookbooks end up being a book that you write that people develop a relationship
- 29:51with, and I love to think about books and being a cookbook writer in that way.
- 29:57So, um, be prepared and keep your ears open for, um, the launching of, um, my
- 30:06cook, my group cookbook writing programs.
- 30:09Um, first one again coming up in February
- 30:14and.
- 30:16I think that is it.
- 30:19So what about you?
- 30:21What do you want to do more of in 2026?
- 30:26What do you wanna do less of in 2026?
- 30:29What do you.
- 30:31Want to close some loops on in 2026, what do you need to let go of?
- 30:35I in particular, encourage you to let go of anything that you do not
- 30:40have direct control over any way.
- 30:45Sometimes we spend so much of our time in mental energy thinking about
- 30:50things that we have zero control over.
- 30:56Is that worth it for you to do that?
- 30:59What kind of life does it, uh, lead you to live?
- 31:03And I refuse to spend my precious mental energy and time worrying about
- 31:10things that I have zero control over.
- 31:14If I do have control over something or I can affect a change in some
- 31:18areas and I want to spend time thinking about it, then I say
- 31:21definitely, uh, put that on your list.
- 31:24But there might be some things that we all need to let go of
- 31:26that we just can't control.
- 31:28And then, uh, what do you wanna bring forward from 2025?
- 31:30What was working well for you and, uh, what do you want to continue?
- 31:36So that is it for today's episode of the ins and outs of 2025.
