Transcript
- 0:02Adam: Hello and welcome to another episode of the Adam and Deedra Show.
- 0:06Adam: Welcome.
- 0:06Adam: Welcome.
- 0:07Adam: And uh today we're drinking, oh my gosh, I keep trying to say this word and I can't.
- 0:12Adam: Malefulus.
- 0:14Adam: Patch number five from Great Notion.
- 0:18Adam: And we are drinking it for a reason.
- 0:21Adam: So we went to the Wandering Tortoise this weekend and they had their sour fest, and we did a lot of tasting.
- 0:28Dedra: Yes, a ton of tasting.
- 0:31Dedra: I cannot wait to talk about this.
- 0:33Dedra: But first, cheers.
- 0:35Adam: Cheers, everybody.
- 0:36Adam: Before we went to uh Wandering Tortoise, there's a place right next door to it called Nelson's Fish Market.
- 0:43Adam: And we've been there a couple of times, and great place because you can actually take their food inside the Wandering Tortoise.
- 0:49Adam: You can even get a number, they'll just bring it right into the place.
- 0:52Adam: So they kind of share the same building and um work well together.
- 0:56Adam: And the ceviche, I love ceviche, you do too, is uh something that I want to talk about because it doesn't look like typical ceviche with like cucumbers and tomato and onion.
- 1:08Adam: Or well, I guess there's onion in there, but it doesn't look like the typical ceviche that you would get.
- 1:14Adam: And uh it's just like the fish inside there, it's kind of like a yellowish uh sauce and onion.
- 1:20Adam: Very, very basic.
- 1:22Adam: And I we thought that the first time we got it, and we're like, oh man, we just paid how much for this little tiny cup of ceviche, and then we took those chips and ate it for the first time, and like five minutes later it was gone.
- 1:36Dedra: It was freaking amazing.
- 1:38Dedra: Yeah, it again, it's not your traditional, there's like very few ingredients that go into it, and it is actually like in this scenario, the the less the better.
- 1:48Adam: Yeah.
- 1:48Adam: And uh I was talking to the guy there, he he uh said that it's more of a Peruvian style ceviche.
- 1:55Adam: And the reason why I said that, I guess they have this uh yellow chili that they use inside inside the sauce, and it kind of turns it to almost like that yellow color and adds adds flavor and and a little bit of heat also inside the ceviche.
- 2:09Adam: And uh the fish that they used in it this time was Hake, I think you said.
- 2:14Adam: Yeah, yeah, and I'm not exactly sure what kind of fish that is, but I just said, well, keep it going.
- 2:21Dedra: Well, I believe he said it was something similar to cod.
- 2:24Dedra: Yeah, I think.
- 2:25Adam: Yeah, and what do you know?
- 2:25Adam: The last time we had that, which was I'm gonna guess and say probably a year, maybe two years ago, and uh, they used scallops and cod together inside the ceviche.
- 2:36Adam: And I've never even seen scallops used in ceviche before.
- 2:39Adam: Have you?
- 2:40Dedra: No, I haven't.
- 2:41Dedra: But when we go out, I am always kind of iffy about ordering the ceviche because I always just feel like it's not gonna be good.
- 2:47Dedra: It's gonna be kind of weird.
- 2:48Dedra: But even though, like the one from Nelson's is amazing, it was a little bit pricey, but the pieces of fish that you get are they're they're good chunks.
- 2:58Dedra: They're a good, I don't know, like an inch cube chunk of fish.
- 3:02Dedra: Like they give you really big pieces in the in their ceviche.
- 3:06Dedra: Um, and another thing that I was so tempted, there was a couple of things I was actually tempted to get um when I when we were there, is they also have noble bread on site that they sell.
- 3:17Dedra: And they had these huge sourdough loafs like this.
- 3:21Dedra: It was huge.
- 3:22Dedra: And it was $13.
- 3:24Dedra: And I was like, man, I don't want to pay $12.95.
- 3:27Dedra: But thinking back, I really should have paid $12.95 for that loaf of bread because oh my gosh, I'm starting to drill.
- 3:35Dedra: Not again.
- 3:36Dedra: The sour, we're talking about food.
- 3:39Dedra: No, I know.
- 3:40Dedra: But their their sourdough at Noble is delicious, it's amazing.
- 3:45Dedra: So if you ever have the opportunity, or if you're out and about somewhere at a restaurant um and they have noble bread, get it.
- 3:52Dedra: Absolutely get it.
- 3:53Dedra: And they also have a location just right down the street from the wandering tortoise.
- 3:57Dedra: Go there also.
- 3:59Dedra: But if you're ever there, just definitely stop by and just order one of everything off of their menu.
- 4:05Dedra: Because we went there once.
- 4:06Dedra: Try their sandwiches.
- 4:07Dedra: Their sandwiches were really good.
- 4:09Dedra: Yeah.
- 4:09Dedra: Went there a second time.
- 4:10Dedra: Or no, no, I think it was maybe the same visit.
- 4:13Dedra: And I was like, you know what?
- 4:14Dedra: I was like, you know what?
- 4:16Dedra: There's the sandwich, but they also make pizza, like their own pizza there.
- 4:21Adam: Using that same sourdough kind of uh their own restaurant.
- 4:25Dedra: They do their own pizza dough there.
- 4:27Dedra: And I just looked at Adam and I was like, okay, they make amazing bread.
- 4:32Dedra: Their pizza cannot be terrible.
- 4:35Dedra: Like their pizza has to be just as amazing as the sandwich.
- 4:40Dedra: And their pizza was actually really good too.
- 4:41Dedra: It was.
- 4:42Dedra: I didn't care for the salad, but I mean, you don't go to noble bread to go order a salad, you know.
- 4:47Dedra: But we were there for lunch on a weekday.
- 4:50Adam: Yeah.
- 4:50Adam: And it was just like leaves with a little bit of vinaigrette on it.
- 4:53Adam: That's why we were like the salad was eh.
- 4:55Adam: True.
- 4:58Adam: But uh that noble bread, if you don't live in Phoenix, I'm sorry.
- 5:01Adam: You're gonna have to find your own sourdough place, which they're I'm sure across the country, but this place is one of our favorites here in town.
- 5:07Dedra: So the other thing I was gonna um buy over there at Nelson's was uh a hat.
- 5:13Dedra: Like I love I love my hats.
- 5:14Dedra: I have a huge hat collection.
- 5:16Adam: I'm wearing the hopsology one right now, by the way.
- 5:18Dedra: I like it actually, I really do.
- 5:20Dedra: And they had this hat, but it's like a Hawaiian almost theme hat, and it just has like the little hook, their little logo from Nelson's.
- 5:29Dedra: And I never thought I would be like, hey, check out that Hawaiian hat, you know?
- 5:33Dedra: Get a fish market hat.
- 5:35Dedra: Right.
- 5:37Dedra: But I was I was really close to to buying it because I was like, I really like that design.
- 5:43Dedra: So I think the next time that we go to um wandering tortoise, I think I'm gonna go for it.
- 5:49Dedra: I think I'm gonna go get that hat.
- 5:50Adam: Instead of getting the wandering tortoise hat.
- 5:54Dedra: Yeah, whatever.
- 5:55Adam: You got a wandering tortoise t-shirt, so you're good.
- 6:00Dedra: Um add to my collection, my hat collection.
- 6:03Adam: Well, the second thing that I'm gonna talk about is I had a bon mi sandwich.
- 6:07Adam: Now, if uh all of you guys are familiar with bon mi's, it's a Vietnamese sandwich.
- 6:11Adam: And uh they they believe they used the noble bread too for the for that that bon mi sandwich, too, didn't they?
- 6:17Dedra: I'm sorry, did you say a shamwich?
- 6:19Adam: A shamwich, yeah.
- 6:20Adam: I sure did.
- 6:21Adam: I sure did.
- 6:25Dedra: Okay, just checking.
- 6:26Adam: Okay, just making sure.
- 6:28Adam: And usually it's you it's done with uh pork and I think it has pate in there and then pickled vegetables.
- 6:35Adam: Well, this one was different, to say the least.
- 6:37Adam: It was a poke bon mi sandwich.
- 6:41Adam: So they did the um fresh tuna in a marinade, and that was the meat base with the pickled vegetables inside there.
- 6:49Adam: And oh my gosh, I wasn't even that hungry.
- 6:55Adam: And then after eating that ceviche, I was like, all right, I gotta check the sandwich out too.
- 6:58Adam: And I'm like, bon me?
- 6:59Adam: I'm like, I've never seen bon mi with any type of fish.
- 7:02Adam: I took a bite and oh, I just I was like, oh my god.
- 7:06Adam: And I'm like, here, you gotta have some.
- 7:08Adam: And then I just kept taking a bite and setting it back down.
- 7:11Dedra: Well, and it was a good sized sandwich.
- 7:13Adam: Oh my gosh, yeah, it was.
- 7:14Dedra: It was a real good sized sandwich, and they cut it in half already um for us.
- 7:18Dedra: And I looked at that sandwich and I was like, oh, I can't eat that whole thing.
- 7:23Dedra: Just just my half of it.
- 7:25Dedra: I the my obligation to your sandwich, there was no way I was gonna eat that, and especially after already going to town on a ceviche.
- 7:32Dedra: And I was just like, this this sandwich is gonna be the death of me, and it's gonna ruin my whole drinking day because I'm gonna be full.
- 7:40Dedra: Yeah, I'm gonna be full on bread, and uh I'm just gonna feel miserable.
- 7:45Dedra: So I didn't eat the whole sandwich, I just took a couple bites.
- 7:48Adam: I'm glad she took only a couple bites because I finished the whole rest of it.
- 7:51Dedra: Yeah, yeah, true.
- 7:53Dedra: You you and our friend finished that other half too, which was good.
- 7:56Dedra: Hey, sharing's caring.
- 7:58Adam: It is, yeah.
- 7:59Adam: And that was a oh my god, he thought the same thing.
- 8:01Adam: He I saw him, he just came from lunch and he's sitting here still eating it.
- 8:05Adam: So thank you, Randy.
- 8:07Adam: So I don't typically have this many notes when doing this show.
- 8:13Adam: So I usually remember the beers pretty well.
- 8:16Adam: And this time, there was no freaking way.
- 8:20Dedra: Um it was it was their sour festival.
- 8:24Dedra: Oh, so we absolutely had to go.
- 8:26Dedra: There was no way that we were gonna miss this.
- 8:28Dedra: And it's the wandering tortoise.
- 8:29Dedra: And that's again why we're drinking sours on today's show.
- 8:35Dedra: So a little bit about the slipping on this is come again.
- 8:41Dedra: It's it's a tart fruit punch smoothie ale.
- 8:47Adam: And it had like a tropical kind of flavor.
- 8:51Adam: Um, I thought like a tropical smoothie, like I don't know, those like pineapples and I don't even know, I don't even know.
- 8:58Dedra: Right.
- 8:58Dedra: And I was hoping on the can because usually it gives like a pretty good description of what's in there.
- 9:03Dedra: So not this type?
- 9:04Dedra: No.
- 9:05Dedra: Come on, come on, great notion.
- 9:06Dedra: You're making me look bad.
- 9:08Dedra: I wanted to share what was in there.
- 9:11Adam: But this was, I believe, the winner of all the ones that we tasted.
- 9:16Adam: Now, go ahead.
- 9:17Adam: You're gonna say something.
- 9:18Dedra: Well, I wasn't gonna start trying to count and just be like, okay, of all these, this was the one that we definitely had twice.
- 9:26Dedra: Yes, and then bought a can for home.
- 9:28Dedra: So that just tells you how much we really enjoyed this one.
- 9:32Adam: So I don't know if you remember, but we actually shared it with uh two of our friends, and immediately after we shared it, they went and bought a cup of it, and uh we're we had to drink it also.
- 9:42Adam: I mean, they were just like, holy crap, how did we miss this one on the menu?
- 9:45Adam: So we had a total of 15, just me and you.
- 9:50Dedra: Wow.
- 9:51Adam: Yeah.
- 9:51Adam: There was 47 beers on tap that I know of, and I think they had a couple extras.
- 9:58Adam: Oh, I don't have these in any kind of order, so I'm just gonna go down the list and tell you.
- 10:04Adam: But we started with two, two eight-ounce, and then we're like, hey, we just got here, we're eating food.
- 10:08Adam: We'll we'll start with like an eight-ounce pour.
- 10:10Adam: So we did that, and then we got three four-ounce pours, and then I went back and got four four-ounce pores.
- 10:18Dedra: I was like, Each time we came back to the table, there was another glass.
- 10:21Dedra: Yeah, and it just the order just kept coming back bigger and bigger.
- 10:25Adam: And I think after the first nine, I was like, okay, we got to break it up with uh with a couple of IPAs or something.
- 10:31Dedra: Yes, definitely.
- 10:32Dedra: I was definitely I was getting a little bit burnt out, so I really welcomed the um the hazyes that we had.
- 10:39Adam: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:40Adam: We had the hazy's, and then we went back to for a few more tastings of the sours, and I think probably a couple tastings of uh of some more hazy's too.
- 10:47Adam: But I'm gonna go down the list because you're one of your favorites, the out of orders, we had quite a bit of that.
- 10:52Adam: And uh made by R A R, which I've uh mentioned on the in the show before that uh I can't even remember that double hazy that I had.
- 10:59Adam: Um Who Got Spirit, which is strawberry, lime, and lemonade.
- 11:05Adam: And I remember that one.
- 11:07Adam: That one was really good too.
- 11:08Adam: That was one of my favorites.
- 11:09Adam: Um, it wasn't as thick like this smoothie one right here, but it was uh still really good.
- 11:15Dedra: And you know what?
- 11:16Dedra: I'm almost out.
- 11:17Dedra: Like I've I've really been going after mine.
- 11:19Adam: I'm taking really small sips just to try to prevent that.
- 11:24Dedra: Me too, but it's not working.
- 11:26Adam: Yeah, another one from RAR out of order called Rang, which is a guava, mango, sorbet, and vanilla sour.
- 11:32Adam: Um Casey blending.
- 11:34Adam: So now this one, it was called Ghost Note.
- 11:36Adam: It was a plum couvet, uh, which is a Saison, and that one um it was a little bit, I mean, compared to like the sweetness that we were getting on the sours, had a little bit more of like the dry tartness.
- 11:48Adam: Um, do you remember that one that I got?
- 11:50Adam: It was like, okay, we're drinking sour, sour, sour.
- 11:53Adam: And then that one, which did have the the sour flavor to it also, but it just wasn't as um sweet and and uh it was much drier, I think, in flavor.
- 12:03Dedra: I think that was the one that was not my favorite, right?
- 12:06Dedra: Yeah, you didn't like it as much.
- 12:07Dedra: This one's this is the sours that I don't like that I talk about that are watery.
- 12:13Dedra: I feel like it almost had like a I feel like I always say this about the source, like a Windex flavor to it.
- 12:19Adam: Yeah, and uh it's it was just because it was so dry.
- 12:22Adam: Instead of the sweet, you get the almost like the the sourness uh comes through a little bit more.
- 12:27Adam: And I think that's what you're getting on that.
- 12:29Dedra: Gosh.
- 12:30Adam: We had another one from Great Notion called Jammy Pants, which was a blueberry, boysenberry, and blackberry um sour.
- 12:37Adam: And uh that was one that you were um we we thought was gonna be much better than it was.
- 12:42Adam: I thought it was still really good, but uh we just expected something like this, I think, when we heard the name jammy pants.
- 12:49Dedra: Right, right, definitely, and it was okay.
- 12:52Dedra: Yeah, it wasn't everything I was my my hopes and dreams.
- 12:56Adam: Another one from Weldworks was called Bam Bam Rubble Rubble, which was a fruity pebbles in drank form, according to the description.
- 13:06Dedra: That was that was a spot-on definition of it because I really did get the fruity pebble flavor from it.
- 13:13Adam: You did?
- 13:13Adam: I thought it was very mild, you know.
- 13:15Adam: I've I felt like I've had other things that had that fruity pebble um kind of flavors to it.
- 13:20Adam: And this one I felt didn't have as much as some of the other ones that I had.
- 13:25Adam: And maybe that was just me though.
- 13:27Dedra: Hey, you still tasted it?
- 13:28Adam: I did, I did.
- 13:30Dedra: Put that down on my notch.
- 13:32Adam: Um, Bottle Logic had a uh uh fruited uh Berlinerwise called Upside Down, which was a blackberry and vanilla um solid, of course.
- 13:41Adam: You know, anything from Bottle Logic's gonna be great.
- 13:45Adam: Uh great notion.
- 13:47Adam: I had the blueberry muffin.
- 13:49Adam: Now that one, you you take a drink of that, and it was like you just bit into a blueberry muffin.
- 13:53Adam: Do you remember that one?
- 13:54Adam: I do, I do.
- 13:55Dedra: That one was really good.
- 13:56Adam: That was actually uh for your request, wasn't it?
- 13:59Adam: Yes, I think that was one of the ones that you wanted to try for sure.
- 14:02Dedra: Yes, because one of our friends had that and they were like, oh, you gotta get this one because it's legit.
- 14:05Dedra: And I was like, oh, all right, sold.
- 14:09Adam: And then you got it.
- 14:09Adam: And of course, the great notion, Moleculus.
- 14:13Adam: I don't know why I can't say it.
- 14:17Adam: Which was the winner, though.
- 14:18Adam: Unique and tropical smoothie sour is what it said on the on the on the board.
- 14:23Adam: Uh Trillium, um, daily serving peach and apricot Berliner wise.
- 14:28Adam: Now, anytime I see uh Trillium on the menu, um, gotta try it.
- 14:33Adam: You know, they do they uh make really good hazies.
- 14:35Adam: I think that's out of Massachusetts, isn't it?
- 14:37Adam: Yes.
- 14:38Dedra: I don't know.
- 14:38Dedra: I'm just going along with it.
- 14:40Dedra: Oh's good.
- 14:42Dedra: Yeah.
- 14:42Dedra: I mean, if you said, hey, that's out of New York or Florida, I'd been like, yep, I think so.
- 14:47Dedra: And just put that on our summer plans.
- 14:50Adam: Well, that's the that is one of them, yeah, for sure.
- 14:52Adam: It was on my list already.
- 14:54Dedra: If you said, hey, it's in Arizona, I'd have been like, and we haven't been there.
- 14:58Adam: And you would have been like, yeah, sure.
- 14:59Adam: Say the same thing.
- 15:00Adam: What are we waiting for?
- 15:02Adam: What are we waiting for?
- 15:03Adam: That was from uh Rocky 2, by the way.
- 15:06Adam: Um, and of course it wouldn't be a sour fest without having some Drecker.
- 15:12Adam: We had the chonk peach and white chocolate.
- 15:16Dedra: We bought some to go, also.
- 15:17Adam: Yeah, I that was uh wasn't was it that peach and and white chocolate one?
- 15:21Adam: I think it was.
- 15:22Adam: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 15:23Adam: Um, another one by Drecker.
- 15:24Adam: What?
- 15:26Dedra: Of course I'm right.
- 15:28Adam: There will be perd.
- 15:29Adam: Do you know that really does stand for a fart?
- 15:32Adam: And that's the Jules Deluxe Strawberry, Orange, and Banana, which was really good.
- 15:38Adam: That was one of the last ones that I got.
- 15:40Adam: Um, and then our IPAs that we got was the top lane gliath, fire, skulls, and money.
- 15:48Adam: And we got that as an eight ounce to break up all those other ones because we were like, let's just sit here and sit for a little bit and have a have a hazy.
- 15:54Adam: So that was one of the ones that we got, and another one called Everywhere, which was called Tracing the Departed, which is Imperial Double Double Hazy.
- 16:04Adam: Oh, both of those.
- 16:06Adam: I thought after we got done, we switched it like halfway through.
- 16:09Adam: Yeah.
- 16:09Adam: Both of those were just so good.
- 16:12Dedra: They were, and I'm glad that we got the eight-ounce pores because we both literally, I think, looked at each other at the same time across the table and were like four ounces left, four ounces left.
- 16:22Dedra: Trade perfect.
- 16:24Dedra: It was perfect.
- 16:25Dedra: The timing was great.
- 16:26Dedra: And I'm glad we did that because sometimes you can get a little bit burnt out on the flavor, or either you can just drink it way too fast.
- 16:35Dedra: And I think that these two, um, back to back, definitely it was a great compliment to each other, and it was really, really good.
- 16:45Adam: Yeah.
- 16:45Dedra: Um, didn't we get any of those to go?
- 16:48Adam: Got a couple others, but I don't remember seeing those on the we had actually two from everywhere.
- 16:51Adam: There was another one called uh Nothing in the Way, which isn't that a Nirvana song.
- 16:57Dedra: I don't know.
- 16:58Dedra: I'm I was never a big Nirvana person, so I'm sorry I can't tell you that one.
- 17:02Adam: I'm pretty sure that it was, but uh, that was a double dry hopped West Coast, and I think that was one of the last ones that I got uh when I got you that uh chonk just because I wanted something.
- 17:13Adam: I'm like, I just need like a West Coast, something clean before we left because I just didn't want to leave with like my gums or my lips sticking to my teeth or something.
- 17:21Dedra: Right, right.
- 17:21Dedra: And sometimes I feel like after you get done with this hour, you're just thirsty, like you want some water.
- 17:28Dedra: Yeah.
- 17:31Adam: And I think one of the last ones that we tried was the North Park beer.
- 17:35Adam: It was called Aroma Constrictor, which was another hazy IPA that we had while we were there.
- 17:40Adam: So I thought we did pretty well having 15 while we were there.
- 17:44Dedra: Yeah, we definitely did a divide and conquer.
- 17:47Dedra: Share and conquer.
- 17:49Adam: Share and conquer, yeah.
- 17:50Dedra: Yeah, I think share and conquer is better.
- 17:52Adam: Um there were still 32 other beers that we didn't have at least.
- 17:57Dedra: True.
- 17:58Dedra: But I mean, I feel like we share and conquer everything, and that's why we're able to eat as much food as we do or order as much food as we do, because we always get one thing.
- 18:07Dedra: Whenever we go out on vacation, we always try to get food.
- 18:10Dedra: Whenever we get food, we try to split it and share.
- 18:12Dedra: So that way we're not full, we can go on to the next place, get an appetizer or get something, you know, just like a not an entree, but yeah, get an entree.
- 18:21Dedra: Um, but man, I just whenever we go out, I always get stuck and I always not always, I'm trying to say, no, on the fries, let's make better choices.
- 18:33Dedra: I need to make better choices and get a salad.
- 18:36Dedra: But I mean, nobody ever is like eating a salad and they're completely satisfied and they're like, oh my god, this salad is so delicious.
- 18:45Dedra: But when you have fries and you're not shoving your salad in someone else's face, like, oh my god, you gotta try it, you know.
- 18:53Dedra: But with French fries, with fries, it's like, oh, oh, this is these fries are so crispy here.
- 19:00Dedra: Try it.
- 19:01Dedra: Check out this sauce.
- 19:03Dedra: Or these fries are so fresh, they're crispy, they're battered, they're and you want to share those because those are good.
- 19:10Dedra: Not, I mean, salads are okay, but you don't want to share.
- 19:13Dedra: You don't want to like put that on anybody because then they're gonna be look at you like, no thanks.
- 19:21Adam: And meanwhile, she said she's gonna try getting salad, but isn't she the same one that gave me crap a few episodes ago for not getting French fries at Lamborghessa?
- 19:30Dedra: I'm still, yes, yes, and I I'm still thinking about those wings also.
- 19:35Dedra: Also, didn't get.
- 19:37Adam: But do you know what?
- 19:38Adam: Like I said, plenty of other weekends.
- 19:41Dedra: So why are you bringing a box?
- 19:45Adam: Yeah.
- 19:47Dedra: Hey, you brought it up first.
- 19:51Adam: Yep.
- 19:52Adam: But um, all of us.
- 19:56Dedra: Anyways, bye.
- 19:57Dedra: Hey, where are you going?
- 20:00Adam: Um, great weekend.
- 20:01Adam: I mean, that was a lot of fun.
- 20:03Adam: Um, good hanging out with friends.
- 20:05Adam: And now this is an episode that we actually didn't talk about a brewery.
- 20:09Adam: We talked about a lot of breweries that we got their beer, but uh tap houses are a fun place to spend our time, also.
- 20:17Adam: So I guess hopsology was very similar to that, even though they brewed beer, beer there.
- 20:21Adam: Wearing the hat, by the way, saying again.
- 20:24Adam: But um, this is a place uh there's a few places in town that actually do craft beer um the right way.
- 20:32Adam: I mean, just having it all clap craft beers.
- 20:34Adam: And when I go to a craft beer bar, I really expect to see something that I don't I can't get in an in a normal place.
- 20:40Adam: And I think that's what makes it special.
- 20:42Dedra: Oh, and they also they had a mimosa slushie.
- 20:45Dedra: They do slushies there um on the weekends as well.
- 20:49Adam: That didn't come up on my list.
- 20:50Adam: I'm sorry.
- 20:51Adam: Loser.
- 20:52Dedra: But and it came in a champagne flute, but the straw, it was one of those paper straws, but that paper straw was like 15 inches long.
- 21:02Adam: Like inch thick, and it's sticking, it's like half the volume of the cup.
- 21:07Adam: You gotta take it off the table and drink it.
- 21:10Dedra: Well, I thought the cup was gonna tip over because the straw was it was gonna make it so top heavy.
- 21:15Dedra: Oh my gosh.
- 21:17Adam: A paper straw makes it top heavy.
- 21:20Dedra: Hey, it was a big straw.
- 21:22Dedra: And I almost asked you because I feel like drinking out of it was creating a scene because I've got it like a foot away from my face.
- 21:33Dedra: It's a paper straw.
- 21:34Dedra: I don't nobody can trust a paper straw.
- 21:36Dedra: So I just felt like I was just almost just chasing the straw.
- 21:40Dedra: And then I'm like, oh my God, any second, this damn thing is gonna start coming undone.
- 21:45Dedra: And now it's gonna be even worse.
- 21:47Dedra: So I almost asked you just to cut it.
- 21:50Dedra: Um and then I was like, well, I just want to take this straw out altogether.
- 21:53Dedra: I know what you guys are thinking, don't judge.
- 21:55Dedra: Um, but I was just like, you know what?
- 21:57Dedra: No, I want to use the straw because that's how.
- 21:59Dedra: The drink came, so I feel like it should have been a drink when you're.
- 22:04Adam: You're sitting there like this, probably, and it's like because it's a frozen one, it'd probably be stuck at the bottom of the cup.
- 22:09Dedra: Oh my god.
- 22:09Dedra: And could you imagine it's gonna do that ice thing where it's just gonna splash all over my face?
- 22:14Dedra: And that being the first place of the day, I I would have had to have bought more stuff over there at Wandering Tortoise.
- 22:21Adam: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:22Adam: I mean, you were already getting, yeah, chills.
- 22:24Adam: What was up with that?
- 22:25Dedra: Saturday was a great day.
- 22:28Dedra: And in the car, I was like, oh, I'm gonna be sweaty.
- 22:31Dedra: I don't want to be uncomfortable.
- 22:33Dedra: So I turned the air on kind of high.
- 22:36Dedra: And I kind of froze myself out ahead of time.
- 22:38Dedra: Cause I was like, okay, well, at least, you know, once we get there, and if it's kind of warm, because I usually have their their doors and windows open and rolled up, and I was like, well, if it's kind of warm, I'll at least start to slowly thaw out and be comfortable inside the wandering tortoise.
- 22:51Dedra: And yes, I do think about these things.
- 22:54Dedra: And I we got in there and it was a beautiful overcast day.
- 23:00Dedra: The high I think was 75, and they had the fans going on inside.
- 23:06Dedra: And I think just right where I was sitting, there was a fan right over us, and maybe some air conditioning that was blowing.
- 23:12Dedra: And I had a dress on and I was just I was freezing.
- 23:15Dedra: I could not for the life of me get warm.
- 23:17Dedra: And I was just like, oh, I can't shake this chill.
- 23:20Dedra: So I was like, Well, maybe if I just keep drinking and drinking, you know, I'll be okay.
- 23:26Adam: Did it work?
- 23:28Dedra: Um, yeah.
- 23:30Adam: I guess so.
- 23:30Adam: Well, probably not after that slushy that you had.
- 23:34Dedra: I was gonna say, well, I didn't buy anything.
- 23:37Dedra: Oh yeah, I really wasn't I I went and looked, obviously.
- 23:41Adam: Um buy anything as in uh merchandise.
- 23:45Dedra: Yes, and I just didn't really see anything there that I liked as far as color-wise.
- 23:50Dedra: It was like a like a soft army green, like a mustard yellow, and a soft, like a soft bubblegum pink, I guess.
- 23:59Dedra: And I wanted a zip up one.
- 24:01Dedra: I didn't want a hoodie because I was like, oh, it's gonna look weird with my dress.
- 24:04Dedra: So I was trying to find one that matched, and I didn't want it to look weird.
- 24:07Dedra: I don't want to wear a hoodie with a dress and walk around look like an idiot, you know.
- 24:11Dedra: So I was like, uh, you know what?
- 24:15Dedra: I'm just gonna freeze it out.
- 24:16Dedra: I'm gonna freeze it out.
- 24:17Dedra: I'll be fine.
- 24:18Dedra: I'll be okay.
- 24:19Adam: I'm fine.
- 24:20Dedra: Yeah.
- 24:21Dedra: Who doesn't need a little frostbite?
- 24:23Dedra: Well, you know, Arizona's 75 degrees.
- 24:26Adam: 75 degrees and she had chills.
- 24:27Adam: Can you believe it?
- 24:29Adam: We we thrive for this.
- 24:33Dedra: I know, I don't know what was going on.
- 24:35Adam: Oh well.
- 24:36Adam: Do you know what?
- 24:36Adam: At least you had chills.
- 24:37Adam: At least you're not just sweating.
- 24:39Adam: So true.
- 24:40Dedra: And that's one thing is I will I'll I'll freeze myself to death before I sit in an area where I'm sweating.
- 24:46Dedra: Yeah.
- 24:46Dedra: When I get hot and sweaty, and then I just tend to get a little bit cranky.
- 24:50Dedra: But when I'm cold, I'm a lot happier.
- 24:53Dedra: I'm a little happier.
- 24:55Dedra: Well, I'm a lot happier when I'm cold.
- 24:58Adam: Very good.
- 24:59Adam: But um, one other thing that wandering tortoise does is a lot of times they'll have uh food trucks there too.
- 25:04Adam: They even had one that used to be stationed right out front.
- 25:07Adam: Remember, it was like a Filipino barbecue place too.
- 25:10Adam: And uh that was that was neat.
- 25:12Adam: They didn't have it anymore, but uh, I think they have a food truck that normally comes to yes.
- 25:16Dedra: They're I think uh they're the one that go now goes to wandering tortoise.
- 25:20Dedra: Not wandering tortoise.
- 25:21Dedra: Exactly the same place.
- 25:22Dedra: Oh my god.
- 25:26Dedra: We've had their beer like the past seven times.
- 25:30Adam: Oh Rent House?
- 25:31Dedra: Yes, yeah, that's the same place.
- 25:34Adam: Interesting.
- 25:34Adam: I didn't even know that.
- 25:37Dedra: I don't know why that was so hard to remember.
- 25:40Adam: That's all right.
- 25:40Adam: I'm the one who usually is like, oh no, you still are.
- 25:45Dedra: Oh man.
- 25:47Adam: But uh looking at our glasses here, that kind of tells us it's the uh end of end of our show.
- 25:53Adam: Well, are you drowning it down in it already?
- 25:57Adam: Are you drowning it?
- 25:58Adam: Oh my gosh.
- 26:01Dedra: My sorrows?
- 26:02Dedra: Yes.
- 26:02Adam: Yes.
- 26:03Dedra: What's sorrows?
- 26:03Dedra: Because the beer is almost out.
- 26:06Adam: I know.
- 26:06Adam: This was a great sorrow.
- 26:08Adam: I would say that is definitely the winner of our choices this past week.
- 26:13Adam: And that was excellent, excellent beer.
- 26:15Adam: Very, very unique.
- 26:16Adam: I I thought it was fun.
- 26:18Adam: And uh tropical smoothie sour right up your alley.
- 26:22Dedra: Yes.
- 26:23Dedra: So a big thank you to um great notion.
- 26:27Dedra: So yes, great notion, but also to the wandering tortoise for putting on the sour festival.
- 26:32Dedra: It was it was amazing, and I had a ton of fun and a lot of really good sours.
- 26:36Dedra: So thank you, Wandering Tortoise.
- 26:38Adam: Oh, yeah.
- 26:38Adam: Well, cheers, everybody.
