- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's guest is a stand-up comedian. He's a actor. He's
- 0:03Speaker 1: a podcaster. He just released his 10th stand-up comedy special
- 0:07Speaker 1: on Netflix. It's called Two-Lim Policy. We actually want to
- 0:13Speaker 1: dedicate this episode to his nephew, Lieutenant Max Nugent. Thank
- 0:17Speaker 1: you for your service, sir. Today's guest is the one
- 0:20Speaker 1: and only Jim Jeffries.
- 0:40Speaker 2: How have you been? How are you doing with things?
- 0:42Speaker 1: I'm alive, man. What am I? I feel like I'm
- 0:45Speaker 1: stressed out a lot, but it's okay. I just have
- 0:47Speaker 1: to slow things down a little bit for myself. And
- 0:49Speaker 1: then I just... I think sometimes you get busy and
- 0:53Speaker 1: it's hard to see what you're doing. You're just going.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And I think some of that's just life. As you
- 0:58Speaker 1: get older, you're just going. And you're like, am I
- 1:00Speaker 1: still walking in the direction I want to be in?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Or what's even going on? Well, look....
- 1:06Speaker 2: The first time we worked together, per se, was on
- 1:08Speaker 2: a pilot for Comedy Central. We were watching some slam poetry.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that was good.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And now, fucking look at you. You're interviewing the top
- 1:15Speaker 2: people in the world, man. So, yes, you're going in
- 1:18Speaker 2: the right direction, Theo. I wouldn't be too nervous about
- 1:20Speaker 2: how your life's going. You know, take the good with
- 1:23Speaker 2: the bad and keep fucking riding the wave, brother.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks, man. Yeah, I think it's just more like, yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you just get going. You're like, what the fuck?
- 1:31Speaker 2: Where am I? How old am I?
- 1:32Speaker 1: What am I doing? You know, you're just like, it's
- 1:34Speaker 1: just life. Life gets going like that, man. Yours has
- 1:36Speaker 1: changed a lot since I saw you, dude. You had
- 1:38Speaker 1: a child. You have autism.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Well, autism is such a hard thing to put your
- 1:43Speaker 2: finger on, isn't it? You know what I mean? Like,
- 1:46Speaker 2: I might just be an asshole. You know, people always say,
- 1:51Speaker 2: you know, I had one doctor say, oh, we think
- 1:53Speaker 2: that you're on the spectrum and things, but there's such
- 1:54Speaker 2: a rainbow of where you can be and what, you know,
- 1:58Speaker 2: you could be functioning to completely unfunctioning, needing help all
- 2:03Speaker 2: your life. So, look, you know, when I was a kid,
- 2:07Speaker 2: they tried to go, oh, you have attention deficit disorder.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And then dyslexia, I'm positive. Autism, I'm pretty sure on.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I don't think I had attention deficit disorder. I was
- 2:16Speaker 2: just filled full of Ritalin as a child that, okay.
- 2:19Speaker 2: But yes, I have had another kid since I've seen you.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I've got a, I've got a 12 year old and
- 2:23Speaker 2: a four year old and I've sobered up even more importantly,
- 2:26Speaker 2: since we last saw each other, I haven't had a
- 2:28Speaker 2: drink in, uh, close to five years.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Oh, congratulations, dude. How's that changed? I mean, that must
- 2:34Speaker 1: have changed everything.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I still partake in weed. So I'm not sober, sober.
- 2:40Speaker 2: So I don't want to preach that I am completely sober.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But you don't drink.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But I haven't had a drink or a cigarette in years.
- 2:47Speaker 2: It happened during COVID. I started drinking at home. And
- 2:52Speaker 2: I used to have a policy that I'd only drink
- 2:54Speaker 2: at work. You know, it's obviously an Irish policy. I
- 3:01Speaker 2: was like, I can drink at work, you know, because
- 3:03Speaker 2: I can have a couple of beers before a show
- 3:05Speaker 2: and I can have a couple of, you know, spirits
- 3:07Speaker 2: after the show. And, and, uh, and you know, you
- 3:10Speaker 2: can go in the dressing room of the comedy store
- 3:12Speaker 2: and say, give me a vodka Red Bull or whatever,
- 3:14Speaker 2: if you're a bit tired or something. And then when
- 3:17Speaker 2: COVID happened, I started drinking at home. and, uh, excessively.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Like how early, like were you getting up and cracking one?
- 3:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 2: I was, I was getting right into it. And then,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and then my wife gets pregnant and she's not drinking.
- 3:29Speaker 2: And I was probably quite unpleasant to live with. And
- 3:32Speaker 2: I thought, ah, out of solidarity, I won't drink with her,
- 3:35Speaker 2: you know? And then, you know, look, I, I, I
- 3:38Speaker 2: very clearly had a drinking problem and, and it played
- 3:42Speaker 2: out in front of people so many times, you know,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I had My third special, we're here to promote my
- 3:46Speaker 2: 10th special, Two Limb Policy out on Netflix right now.
- 3:50Speaker 2: But my third special was called Fully Functional. And it
- 3:55Speaker 2: was all about how I had given up alcohol and
- 3:58Speaker 2: I was fully functional and I was doing comedy sober.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Then I was drunk in the next one. You know
- 4:04Speaker 2: what I mean? And so it's very hard. And I've
- 4:05Speaker 2: watched people do this that are in the limelight where
- 4:08Speaker 2: you go, I'm giving up drinking. You put a big
- 4:10Speaker 2: flag in the ground and you say, I'm a non-drinker.
- 4:12Speaker 2: And then you let everyone down. You know, you let
- 4:16Speaker 2: everyone down when you slip up and all that type
- 4:18Speaker 2: of stuff. So I kept the first bit of my
- 4:20Speaker 2: sobriety sort of to myself until I came out of college.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I was a couple of years in before I started
- 4:24Speaker 2: telling people. And now I don't really miss it. I
- 4:29Speaker 2: tell you what, I missed a cigarette. I went and
- 4:30Speaker 2: saw Oasis in concert and they were playing cigarettes and
- 4:33Speaker 2: alcohol and people were lighting up in Wembley Stadium. And
- 4:36Speaker 2: just like, there's so many people smoking security wasn't doing
- 4:39Speaker 2: fuck all.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And I was like, I was like, yeah, I wanted
- 4:43Speaker 2: to light up more than, than I ever had. But
- 4:45Speaker 2: I pushed through that, you know, and I had a
- 4:47Speaker 2: tragedy in my life. I didn't smoke. Cause they always
- 4:49Speaker 2: say with smokers, they go, um, you're always a smoker
- 4:53Speaker 2: when the, you know, the chips are down.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Right. And I had a big tragedy in my life
- 4:57Speaker 2: and I didn't light up. So I think I've kicked that. Well,
- 5:00Speaker 2: I hope I have.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So it kind of taught you a lesson or showed
- 5:03Speaker 1: you that you had some progress or something right there.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Dude. Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I remember like, cause if one of your specials, I
- 5:07Speaker 1: distinctly remember you like having a beer and getting through
- 5:10Speaker 1: your beer pretty quick. And then like, I even remember,
- 5:12Speaker 1: I think there was one where there was a couple
- 5:14Speaker 1: of glasses sitting on a table, like empty glasses.
- 5:17Speaker 2: I think people thought this was a thing. And one
- 5:19Speaker 2: of my specials, I had a big wooden box on
- 5:21Speaker 2: the thing. And I would pull a beer from out
- 5:23Speaker 2: of the wooden box and the crowd would cheer each
- 5:25Speaker 2: time because, oh, he's bringing out another one, he's bringing
- 5:26Speaker 2: another one. But we all know you record two shows
- 5:29Speaker 2: for a special, right? You do two performances. You primarily
- 5:33Speaker 2: use one and then maybe edit a joke in that
- 5:35Speaker 2: you haven't done or whatever like that. And so for Congenuity... Um,
- 5:39Speaker 2: we had to hide the pints behind the box. So,
- 5:42Speaker 2: but we edited in every pint that I did drink.
- 5:45Speaker 2: So it does, it did, it did look like I
- 5:48Speaker 2: had a few.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I remember it's looking at a, I was like, God,
- 5:50Speaker 1: he's fucking doing it.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I think it was because it was like six pints
- 5:53Speaker 2: in an hour. Like no one's doing six pints an hour.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I was doing three pints in each hour. Six pints
- 5:59Speaker 2: in an hour seems a little excessive.
- 6:01Speaker 1: It's a lot.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:02Speaker 1: It seems like a lot.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You don't drink, right? How long have you been?
- 6:05Speaker 1: I had probably, I think in my. The most time
- 6:08Speaker 1: I had, I probably had six years and then I
- 6:11Speaker 1: had two, one, then I've had like groups of months,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you know?
- 6:16Speaker 2: That's exact. So when I did fully function, I had
- 6:18Speaker 2: two years, got drunk again, then had a year and
- 6:21Speaker 2: now we're on a five year. Yeah. And so I
- 6:24Speaker 2: don't know if I'll, you know, maybe I'll drink again.
- 6:27Speaker 2: But the problem is every time I've taken drinking back up,
- 6:31Speaker 2: every time I've taken it back up, I've been good
- 6:33Speaker 2: for six months.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:34Speaker 2: It's not like I become like Barney Gumbel and take
- 6:37Speaker 2: a sip and go like that. I'm like, all right,
- 6:39Speaker 2: I had two. I'm good. And then I think I
- 6:41Speaker 2: can handle it. I think I can handle it. I
- 6:43Speaker 2: think I can handle it. And then I'm back to-
- 6:45Speaker 2: What happens? I'm a sloppy drunk.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Are you? What comes out of you? Is it like aggression?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Is it yelling at a neighbor?
- 6:52Speaker 2: Is it racism?
- 6:53Speaker 1: How do you notice it flare up?
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's blackout, man. I don't remember a single thing. And
- 6:58Speaker 2: so then also when you add fame into the mix
- 7:02Speaker 2: and someone will say, hey, I met you and then
- 7:04Speaker 2: you did ABC or you said this, that, and the other,
- 7:07Speaker 2: you can't even prove them wrong. And even when it's
- 7:10Speaker 2: something where you go, I've never done that. That doesn't
- 7:12Speaker 2: sound like me at all. I can't remember the night
- 7:15Speaker 2: at all. I was blacking out. And that's why it
- 7:18Speaker 2: sort of got comfortable at home with who gives a
- 7:20Speaker 2: fuck if you black out at home. Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Everybody has a virus. People are dying or whatever. Fat
- 7:25Speaker 1: people are coughing to death. Like, yeah, it's a different time.
- 7:27Speaker 2: But also like when you stop cocaine, you stop cocaine.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I started to look more drunk. That's when people were
- 7:33Speaker 2: getting into me going, you need to take control of
- 7:35Speaker 2: your drinking. And you're like, oh, no, no, no. I've
- 7:37Speaker 2: just given up another thing.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I'm actually in recovery this way, but I just look
- 7:42Speaker 2: worse because I'm sweating. Because cocaine keeps you upright.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it helps with the posture.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Good for the posture.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Oh, definitely. You see a guy like, fuck.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Straight up. Here we go.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm back. I'm a fucking buoy. Did your kid notice
- 8:00Speaker 1: or anything like that or no?
- 8:01Speaker 2: My... Yeah, my little boy at that stage would have
- 8:05Speaker 2: been about seven and he knew when I was drunk, yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And there was definitely times that he would be like
- 8:12Speaker 2: a child out of a movie. Daddy, are you having
- 8:14Speaker 2: a drink again? You know what I mean? But you're like, yes, yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Where'd you hear that sentence? Was that from the lady
- 8:21Speaker 2: I gave a house to? But yeah, your daddy, you're
- 8:26Speaker 2: having a drink. He laughs about it now. Sounds like
- 8:29Speaker 2: a song. I think he was just teasing me, really.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I don't think he was ever bothered or upset about it.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe he just had a really good sense of humor,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you know?
- 8:37Speaker 2: He's got a great sense of humor, my boy. He's
- 8:39Speaker 2: got a great sense of humor.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Does he?
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he does. I've got nieces and nephews and Um,
- 8:45Speaker 2: obviously my kids and me, I've got two brothers and
- 8:48Speaker 2: one brother is very nice man. Uh, has a good
- 8:52Speaker 2: sense of humor. Can't tell a joke to save his life.
- 8:55Speaker 2: And then I got another brother who's as funny as
- 8:58Speaker 2: me and you, you might not think I'm funny, but
- 8:59Speaker 2: like me and him are both the funny ones, right?
- 9:03Speaker 2: Me and him sort of get together. Like we're in
- 9:06Speaker 2: a Jedi council and we decide who's got the gift.
- 9:09Speaker 2: or not when the children are about three or four,
- 9:11Speaker 2: you start going, oh, I think it's strong with this one. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So I've got both my boys, I think, have it.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Like guessing if your kids are gay, too.
- 9:19Speaker 2: They do that.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Kind of the same thing.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you start to look early. You go, I don't
- 9:23Speaker 2: know about it. Yeah, maybe. It's all right, though, as
- 9:26Speaker 2: long as he's happy. Yeah, yeah. Uh, yeah. So I've got,
- 9:30Speaker 2: I've got a, I've got a couple of, uh, out of,
- 9:33Speaker 2: I won't say who, because they might all listen to this.
- 9:35Speaker 2: So out of, out of my, uh, five nephews and nieces,
- 9:40Speaker 2: two of them have it. Two, two of them have it.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I won't say which ones, but they know, they know
- 9:46Speaker 2: who it is. They know who they are.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah. It is kind of funny to see kids develop
- 9:50Speaker 1: and then you start to see their personality and then like, Yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 1: when they do something that makes you laugh or they
- 9:54Speaker 1: have like a unique way of looking at things or
- 9:56Speaker 1: if they start to seem cool, that's pretty neat. You're like, oh,
- 9:59Speaker 1: this kid. fucking cool. That's dope.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I was talking about the tragedy. I don't know why
- 10:04Speaker 2: I bring it up.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, no, you said that something had occurred.
- 10:08Speaker 2: My nephew died in a helicopter accident.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Oh.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and we made the news in Australia, and I
- 10:12Speaker 2: want to sort of talk about it a little bit
- 10:14Speaker 2: because there's been a cover-up by what I believe the
- 10:18Speaker 2: Australian government. So I'm getting into conspiracy theory shit now
- 10:21Speaker 2: for welcome, but okay. So you can check this online. Uh,
- 10:25Speaker 2: my nephew, Lieutenant, uh, max Nugent was in a helicopter.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Now how, how Australian a death is this? He crashed
- 10:31Speaker 2: a helicopter up near the bit above the great barrier reef, um,
- 10:36Speaker 2: for the military. and was eaten by sharks, like his remains,
- 10:39Speaker 2: there was no remains left. So that's pretty Australian, you know,
- 10:42Speaker 2: that's pretty. I mean, it's a high velocity.
- 10:44Speaker 1: It almost sounds like something that'd be sponsored by Red Bull.
- 10:47Speaker 2: So he was, he was on, uh, he was on
- 10:50Speaker 2: military war games, flying a Taipan helicopter and they were
- 10:53Speaker 2: in a group of four, um, flying along. Um, America
- 10:58Speaker 2: was there as well. There was 30,000 soldiers from all
- 11:00Speaker 2: of our allies around the world. And, uh, the, the
- 11:04Speaker 2: helicopter crashes.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So it's a games. It's a competition.
- 11:07Speaker 2: They play basic war games. So they're in formation for, uh,
- 11:11Speaker 2: Taipan helicopters. The helicopter crashes. They wear these helmets that, uh,
- 11:16Speaker 2: were completely, it's just like all the readings are in there.
- 11:19Speaker 2: You know, I don't know why they can't just do
- 11:21Speaker 2: it in an office, like a drone, you know what
- 11:22Speaker 2: I mean? But, but, but they're in the helicopter and
- 11:24Speaker 2: they're looking all their things. Uh, the helicopter hits the water,
- 11:28Speaker 2: the four men on the helicopter die instantly. Um, and.
- 11:34Speaker 2: within a matter of a couple of weeks, Australia had
- 11:37Speaker 2: decommissioned the helicopters, taken them apart and buried them in
- 11:41Speaker 2: the desert. Uh, the Ukraine said, we'll take the helicopters.
- 11:44Speaker 2: And the Australians went, no, no, no, no, no. Don't
- 11:47Speaker 2: you worry about that. Then my brother and my niece
- 11:50Speaker 2: and my sister-in-law had to sit through an inquiry that
- 11:54Speaker 2: went on, uh, for almost two years. Um, whether the
- 11:59Speaker 2: government was responsible or not, where the test pilot stood
- 12:02Speaker 2: up and said that those helmets were defective and would
- 12:05Speaker 2: end in industrial manslaughter. Right.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So this was documented that the, this.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Was documented in the inquiry, right? It's like watching a
- 12:13Speaker 2: few good men, like talking about the military and the
- 12:15Speaker 2: government trying to cover its ass. I said that it would,
- 12:18Speaker 2: they also, the weather environment, it was raining really badly.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Other countries didn't go out on patrol that day. They
- 12:24Speaker 2: said the weather was too bad. The soldiers were too tired.
- 12:27Speaker 2: One of the soldiers said that they were so tired
- 12:30Speaker 2: they couldn't fly the aircraft, and then my nephew stepped
- 12:33Speaker 2: in to actually do it. There's just so– and it
- 12:37Speaker 2: was just so much bullshit. And then they made it
- 12:40Speaker 2: until they had, I believe, five days– to actually put
- 12:44Speaker 2: in a civil suit to sue the government or the
- 12:47Speaker 2: statute of limitations ran out and the inquiry ended with
- 12:51Speaker 2: five days. Who has five fucking days to get a law?
- 12:54Speaker 2: They dragged it out on purpose. Now I get that
- 12:59Speaker 2: the world's going to war. Well, the world's it. It's
- 13:03Speaker 2: we're in a war. Everyone, whether it kicks off more,
- 13:06Speaker 2: who knows? Right. But the Australian military might be going
- 13:09Speaker 2: into a war scene pretty soon. Right. Anything you guys do,
- 13:13Speaker 2: we'll do as well. Yeah. Right. So they can't be
- 13:17Speaker 2: paying out every soldier who dies or whatever like that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But this was not, this was a war games. There was,
- 13:24Speaker 2: there was things that weren't followed. There was things that
- 13:26Speaker 2: have been, there's literally helicopters that have been buried. If
- 13:30Speaker 2: you want to find an Australian Taipan fucking helicopter, you
- 13:32Speaker 2: need a treasure map, mate. So I just, the only
- 13:36Speaker 2: reason I'm bringing it up here on the show is
- 13:39Speaker 2: you've got such a big platform, mate. And I just
- 13:42Speaker 2: wanted to sort of get that bit of information out.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You can go onto my Instagram. I've put up all
- 13:47Speaker 2: the clips there or just, just Google the, the accident. Uh,
- 13:50Speaker 2: I'm not a big conspiracy theory guy, but. Uh, it
- 13:54Speaker 2: seems pretty shady to me.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And were you able to, um, were you able to, like,
- 13:58Speaker 1: how do you even go about combating that or like
- 14:02Speaker 1: getting in investigations into this?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Uh, um, I don't know. I think, I think I'm
- 14:09Speaker 2: doing it right now. Yeah. I think this is all
- 14:11Speaker 2: I can physically do at the very least. I'd like
- 14:16Speaker 2: my nephew's death not to be forgotten. and I'd like
- 14:19Speaker 2: him to be remembered. And what I've seen my brother
- 14:23Speaker 2: go through, you wouldn't put onto any parent losing their child, right?
- 14:26Speaker 2: You wouldn't put it onto anybody.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Let's bring up a picture of him, Mr.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Nugent. Max Nugent, Max Nugent, Lieutenant Max. The thing is
- 14:33Speaker 2: he grew a moustache just before he– Oh, hell yeah. Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 2: because there he is. He looked like he was from
- 14:40Speaker 2: the 1940s. He looked like he'd just come back from
- 14:43Speaker 2: beating some Germans, didn't he?
- 14:45Speaker 1: He definitely looks like a time traveler.
- 14:48Speaker 2: He was ready to go, old Max.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Hello, Max.
- 14:51Speaker 2: That boy, mate, I remember when he was born, and
- 14:55Speaker 2: he was one of those guys you just never disappointed.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Every step along the way, he wanted to be a
- 15:00Speaker 2: fighter pilot, but he was 6'6, so he had to
- 15:05Speaker 2: go in the helicopters.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Oh, because there's more room in there.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, a bit more leg space.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I can see that.
- 15:10Speaker 2: A bit more leg space. You don't want to be
- 15:11Speaker 2: in a fighter jet and be a real tall guy.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Yeah, with your legs or something like that.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Sitting there like that. Oi, Maverick.
- 15:17Speaker 1: He's moving the throttle with his foot. Was he your
- 15:21Speaker 1: first nephew?
- 15:22Speaker 2: He was my first nephew. Oh, man. I keep on
- 15:25Speaker 2: getting his age wrong in every interview. I believe he
- 15:27Speaker 2: was 23. I believe he was 23. He was very young.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And was he married or no?
- 15:30Speaker 2: He had a girlfriend. Oh, wow. That he'd been living
- 15:33Speaker 2: with for a short amount of time. Oh, yeah. Put
- 15:35Speaker 2: the bills on her. But he was just starting out
- 15:39Speaker 2: in life. He'd just gone through all the training and
- 15:41Speaker 2: stuff and graduated to actually become the helicopter pilot and
- 15:45Speaker 2: actually be a real, you know, for everybody in the
- 15:48Speaker 2: military that sees battle, I think there's 12 people behind
- 15:51Speaker 2: them who are catering and supplies and this, that, and
- 15:54Speaker 2: the other. You know, they're the rock stars, man. The
- 15:57Speaker 2: fighter pilots and the helicopter pilots and stuff. We were
- 16:00Speaker 2: proud of him.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Oh, they're the heroes. I'm sure you were. He looks
- 16:03Speaker 1: like somebody very much to be proud of. That's why
- 16:04Speaker 1: I wanted to get a good look at him so
- 16:05Speaker 1: we can honor him.
- 16:06Speaker 2: When Australia goes to war, we don't, you know, that's
- 16:11Speaker 2: the first bloke we send in. We send in the
- 16:13Speaker 2: planes and the helicopters. That's the first bit of assistance
- 16:15Speaker 2: we send in. You know, like, I don't know if
- 16:17Speaker 2: you know this, but Australia's, I believe, and New Zealand,
- 16:20Speaker 2: I've got to give New Zealand credit, but Australia and
- 16:22Speaker 2: New Zealand are the only country that have fought alongside
- 16:25Speaker 2: you for, for, uh, for over 200 years. Wow. Other
- 16:29Speaker 2: countries are dipped in and out. Just for example, Britain
- 16:32Speaker 2: never went to Vietnam. Australia went to Vietnam, right? I
- 16:35Speaker 2: don't know if we get enough.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You've been there. You don't get enough credit.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I don't know if Australia gets enough credit. Yeah. It's
- 16:39Speaker 2: like Trump slapping fucking tariffs on Australia. I'm a bit like, what?
- 16:43Speaker 2: What the fuck are you doing there, man? We're one
- 16:44Speaker 2: of you guys.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, these are our fucking kangaroo mates over here. It's true, though.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I know you're very popular in Australia.
- 16:52Speaker 1: We had a good time over there. Dude, it was
- 16:55Speaker 1: so much fun. But yeah, I don't understand some of
- 16:56Speaker 1: what Trump's energy is about a lot of these types
- 16:58Speaker 1: of things. It's very bizarre. And I think it's just
- 17:02Speaker 1: getting more... The government feels further and further away from
- 17:05Speaker 1: the people more than ever. But I think it's nice
- 17:07Speaker 1: that countries like yours, a lot of countries have spoken
- 17:09Speaker 1: up like about what's happening in the Middle East. And
- 17:11Speaker 1: I feel like, and I've had a voice into, it's been, um.
- 17:15Speaker 2: People now recognizing Palestine as a state.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah. To see these, see prime ministers do that. It's important.
- 17:21Speaker 2: You know, like, like to, to tariff Australia is pretty weird.
- 17:24Speaker 2: We buy three times more stuff from you than you
- 17:26Speaker 2: buy from us. Why would you, you know, the big
- 17:29Speaker 2: example they gave was, uh, Australian beef, uh, that you
- 17:33Speaker 2: guys buy $ 26 billion worth of Australian beef and we
- 17:35Speaker 2: buy no beef from you. And it's like, well, why
- 17:38Speaker 2: would we? We've got the beef you want. We've already
- 17:41Speaker 2: got it. We've already got it. That's like me paying
- 17:47Speaker 2: for a prostitute and ringing her up the next week
- 17:49Speaker 2: and going, I'd like to do it again, but this
- 17:51Speaker 2: time you'll pay. You know what I mean? Like, you've
- 17:54Speaker 2: never seen on the bottom of, like, you see on
- 17:57Speaker 2: the bottom of a menu it always says Australian Wagyu.
- 17:59Speaker 2: You've never seen in an American restaurant, an Australian restaurant,
- 18:02Speaker 2: the bottom American beef.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Yeah, like Milwaukee Wagyu or whatever.
- 18:06Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, yeah. What do you really buy from us?
- 18:10Speaker 2: You buy sheepskin, red wine, beef, and gold and diamonds.
- 18:17Speaker 2: It's luxury items. Yeah, yeah. You buy luxury items. It's
- 18:20Speaker 2: not like we're fucking manufacturing fucking Happy Meal toys in
- 18:23Speaker 2: Australia in factories. And like those are jobs that could
- 18:27Speaker 2: go to the Americans. These aren't jobs that can go
- 18:30Speaker 2: to the Americans. It's our gold. It's our diamond. It's our,
- 18:32Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Like, mate, let's see what's here.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Meat and edibles. Pearls.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Pharmaceutical. I didn't know that we did that.
- 18:39Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Who's buying electric equipment from Australia? Now, I would advise
- 18:45Speaker 2: against that. After what's happened with the helmet, after what's
- 18:50Speaker 2: happened with my nephew's helmet, don't be buying any Australian
- 18:53Speaker 2: Samsung or whatever the fuck we call it.
- 18:55Speaker 1: So let's steer clear from their VR stuff. We don't
- 18:58Speaker 1: need any virtual reality from over there. So they said
- 19:02Speaker 1: that his plane went down and they don't really know
- 19:04Speaker 1: what happened?
- 19:06Speaker 2: They said it was pilot error in the end, but
- 19:09Speaker 2: they didn't know because the masks invert. But at the
- 19:12Speaker 2: end of the day, the weather wasn't right and they
- 19:14Speaker 2: shouldn't have been flying. Other countries didn't go out and
- 19:19Speaker 2: there's meant to be a certain amount of sleep that
- 19:20Speaker 2: the soldiers are meant to have before. It was actually
- 19:24Speaker 2: turned out to be that there was two blokes in
- 19:27Speaker 2: the back of the helicopter and two pilots at the front. And,
- 19:29Speaker 2: you know, the first fear you have is was he–
- 19:33Speaker 2: experienced enough, was he the one holding the controls? Um,
- 19:38Speaker 2: and he wasn't, it was the more senior pilot that
- 19:41Speaker 2: was holding it. My nephew wasn't holding at the time,
- 19:42Speaker 2: but I have no ill will to him, of course,
- 19:45Speaker 2: you know, like it's, it's a, it's an accident, but
- 19:48Speaker 2: you know, my family had to listen to. the black
- 19:50Speaker 2: box and that took a year before they played that
- 19:53Speaker 2: of going in and listening to legal fucking shit going
- 19:57Speaker 2: over and over again. And I will adjourn in a
- 19:59Speaker 2: month and we'll do some more and we'll adjourn a week.
- 20:01Speaker 2: And they, they spent all their holiday pay and all
- 20:04Speaker 2: their days off having to watch, try to get justice
- 20:06Speaker 2: for their son. And then at the end they went, oh,
- 20:09Speaker 2: pilot error. You can't sue or anything like that. There'll
- 20:12Speaker 2: be no money paid out. And if you want to sue,
- 20:14Speaker 2: you've got five days to get it done, right? What
- 20:17Speaker 2: was your question again? Sorry. Okay, so there was another
- 20:21Speaker 2: bloke actually driving it. But, you know, the black box
- 20:27Speaker 2: is just really my nephew going, oh, it's looking a
- 20:29Speaker 2: bit dodgy. Pull up, pull up, pull up. That's all
- 20:31Speaker 2: you really get. You know, you get his final words,
- 20:33Speaker 2: and that's pretty harrowing to have to listen to the
- 20:36Speaker 2: final words of someone. You know, it's not like they're
- 20:38Speaker 2: words of wisdom. They're words of fear right at the
- 20:41Speaker 2: end there.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Has it been– man, God, it's so heartbreaking. Has it
- 20:46Speaker 1: been hard to, like, be a supportive brother after that? Like,
- 20:50Speaker 1: has that been, like, a challenge or interesting, or what
- 20:53Speaker 1: has that kind of turned into?
- 20:55Speaker 2: It's been– Not.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Hard, but what is that like because– I.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Look, there's a, there's a field piece I once did
- 21:00Speaker 2: on the Jim Jeffery show that shows me and my
- 21:03Speaker 2: brother's relationship because he was a police officer and I
- 21:05Speaker 2: did a ride along in his car and it was
- 21:07Speaker 2: just a lot of me taking the piss out of
- 21:09Speaker 2: my brother and he took it in pretty good jest. Um, uh, it,
- 21:14Speaker 2: there's nothing to say when someone's child dies. You can
- 21:18Speaker 2: just be there and you can just hug them and stuff.
- 21:20Speaker 2: The only thing I could do was get on a
- 21:21Speaker 2: plane right away as soon as I knew, you know
- 21:24Speaker 2: what I mean? But in some strange way, so I've
- 21:27Speaker 2: got two brothers and those two haven't always gotten along.
- 21:31Speaker 2: They don't dislike each other. They're just very different blokes.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yeah, they're different for sure.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Just different dudes, man. And it's brought them closer together
- 21:40Speaker 2: because when the shit hit the fan, the whole family
- 21:43Speaker 2: was there right away. Everyone was there right away, you know? Uh,
- 21:47Speaker 2: I remember going, I got there, I got on the
- 21:49Speaker 2: first plane. I got there and then my brother was
- 21:52Speaker 2: waiting out the front. My other brother was waiting on
- 21:54Speaker 2: the front. He goes, I don't want to go in
- 21:56Speaker 2: before you go in. I want to go in with you.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I just don't, he didn't know what to do. So
- 22:01Speaker 2: I was terrible. I'm watching my granddad, you know, I'm
- 22:04Speaker 2: glad my mother's dead for it, to be honest, that
- 22:06Speaker 2: she didn't have to be around for it. You know,
- 22:08Speaker 2: what's the matter living a few more years to see
- 22:10Speaker 2: your grandchild die. You know what I mean?
- 22:12Speaker 1: So.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I know this is meant to be a fun podcast,
- 22:15Speaker 2: but I was just like, let's talk about Chris Lilley, man.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Let's talk about fucking Chris Lilley. Or my comedy special,
- 22:21Speaker 2: Tulane special coming out.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll get right into it. But Max Nugent, thank
- 22:25Speaker 1: you so much for your service, sir. And happy to
- 22:28Speaker 1: be thinking of you today. We'll get it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: You know what?
- 22:30Speaker 1: We'll get a nice photo of it. If it's okay
- 22:31Speaker 1: with you and your brother, maybe we can put it
- 22:32Speaker 1: in here on the desk or something. Would that be okay?
- 22:34Speaker 2: That would be wonderful. Thank you. That would mean a
- 22:36Speaker 2: lot to me.
- 22:36Speaker 1: That'd be cool. We'd be nice to have him in
- 22:37Speaker 1: here with that stash too, dude.
- 22:40Speaker 2: He was, uh, yeah, he was great. He was, he was,
- 22:44Speaker 2: it was strange that I remember thinking when he became,
- 22:48Speaker 2: when he went to Duntroon. which is like Sandhurst or
- 22:51Speaker 2: I don't know what you call it. What's the big
- 22:53Speaker 2: military academy in America?
- 22:54Speaker 1: West Point.
- 22:56Speaker 2: West Point. So Duntroon is the equivalent of West Point.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And he didn't get in the first time and he
- 23:01Speaker 2: studied and he worked as a bartender or whatever and
- 23:04Speaker 2: then he got in the next time. And I remember
- 23:06Speaker 2: thinking like he was just such a committed lad and
- 23:09Speaker 2: then he finished really high, top of his grade. And
- 23:13Speaker 2: even though he was my nephew, even though I am overt,
- 23:17Speaker 2: you know, 20, I was 25 years older than the bloke. Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I looked up to him. Oh. You know what I mean?
- 23:24Speaker 2: I looked up to him. I thought he was kind
- 23:26Speaker 2: of like a cool guy. And in the same way,
- 23:29Speaker 2: like I went and did a gig the other day
- 23:30Speaker 2: with the Dodgers and I'm like, why am I gushing
- 23:33Speaker 2: over some 25 year old lads? You know what I mean?
- 23:35Speaker 2: But a fighter pilot who was my nephew, my blood
- 23:39Speaker 2: was fucking doing that. Yeah. And I looked up to him.
- 23:43Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 23:44Speaker 1: No, it's admirable. Well, I'll look up to him too.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 23:51Speaker 1: You know?
- 23:51Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 23:52Speaker 1: No, I like getting to think it.
- 23:53Speaker 2: It's important. Yeah, thank you.
- 23:55Speaker 1: It's important to think about people that mean something to you.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And I believe that people can feel you thinking about them. Like,
- 24:01Speaker 1: I think that it's a real thing. Like, you know,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I think it's important that we think about people like that, man.
- 24:06Speaker 1: He fucking was a fucking boss.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know what? I
- 24:13Speaker 2: take some solace in that he was doing the job
- 24:16Speaker 2: that he always wanted to do since he was a
- 24:18Speaker 2: little kid.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he lived his dream.
- 24:19Speaker 2: They reckon the last time they saw him, he put
- 24:21Speaker 2: his machine gun over his shoulder, his automatic shoulder, and
- 24:25Speaker 2: he jumped in the helicopter and he gave a thumbs
- 24:27Speaker 2: up and a smile. Yeah. And he was over the
- 24:29Speaker 2: moon because the other person dropped out and Max was
- 24:32Speaker 2: first person with his hand up. And so, you know,
- 24:36Speaker 2: it wasn't a senseless death. It wasn't, you know, like
- 24:39Speaker 2: a car accident, which I'm not going, you know, people
- 24:41Speaker 2: have tragedies all their life. At least there was, you know,
- 24:44Speaker 2: it wasn't fentanyl. At least it was something, you know,
- 24:48Speaker 2: off being a fucking hero, bro.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, dude.
- 24:52Speaker 2: It is cool. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 1: You know, that is exciting. Yeah, shout out Max, dude. Fucking,
- 24:57Speaker 1: he's still out there in the air, probably fucking... Dude, well, look,
- 25:01Speaker 1: that's another reason we shouldn't be tariffing these people. These
- 25:03Speaker 1: guys are fricking putting their lives on the line. They've
- 25:05Speaker 1: done that for America before.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we always show up for the wars.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Oh, you pop by.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. You know what? You kind of need us. America,
- 25:14Speaker 2: I know you're saying, oh, who cares? A country of
- 25:17Speaker 2: 23 million and another country of 3.5 million in New Zealand.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So let's, you know, 26, 27 million people. We're in
- 25:26Speaker 2: a country of 330 million, right? What do you care
- 25:29Speaker 2: about that? Well, strategically, you kind of need us. We
- 25:32Speaker 2: have nuclear submarines that, you know. Really? Yeah, involved with
- 25:37Speaker 2: the Americans sitting up at the top of our country
- 25:40Speaker 2: because if China fucking goes, bro.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You're going to have to be there first.
- 25:45Speaker 2: You need us.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Fuck all.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah. You need us.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Dude, that's going to be crazy. I would watch that.
- 25:50Speaker 1: If the Chinese got to fight Australia, I would fucking
- 25:52Speaker 1: tune in for that.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Okay. So there we go. Yeah, boy. You're big dogs, huh?
- 25:58Speaker 1: Oh, there's the black one at the top.
- 25:59Speaker 2: You can tell that. Currently under construction. I don't know
- 26:04Speaker 2: how to make it. I assume it's like Ikea or
- 26:07Speaker 2: Lego or something like that. You'd be off to go.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Hopefully it's not the same bloke who made the fucking helmets.
- 26:15Speaker 2: But yeah, we're good to go. Oh, that's awesome.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we get, yeah, I think it's, I don't know
- 26:20Speaker 1: what they're doing. I don't know what some of the
- 26:22Speaker 1: strategies are. And you start to realize that, man, like
- 26:25Speaker 1: probably throughout time, people have just been like so distant
- 26:28Speaker 1: from the. the people who are running the show, you know,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you all end up just being in the mud while
- 26:33Speaker 1: they're the ones up there pouring the water into the dirt,
- 26:35Speaker 1: you know?
- 26:36Speaker 2: Well, you know, we had our own Pearl Harbor. Up
- 26:38Speaker 2: in Darwin, they bombed it. The movie Australia.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Gallipoli?
- 26:41Speaker 2: No, Gallipoli was when we went and fought the Turks.
- 26:43Speaker 1: The Turks.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I shouldn't say the Turks. What am I fucking? It's fine. Yeah,
- 26:47Speaker 2: I guess the Turks.
- 26:47Speaker 1: The Young Turks? Anna Kasparian?
- 26:50Speaker 2: But we fought the Turkish and you would have seen
- 26:52Speaker 2: the Mel Gibson movie. That was, but we had an
- 26:54Speaker 2: invasion on Australian land in Darwin. They bombed it similar
- 26:58Speaker 2: time to what happened with Pearl Harbor. They went after
- 27:01Speaker 2: us as well.
- 27:02Speaker 1: The Jays there, Japanese.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And it, and it hasn't really, it's in the
- 27:05Speaker 2: movie Australia with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. That's what it,
- 27:08Speaker 2: what it's about. But I don't know if you know,
- 27:10Speaker 2: you've seen that film, but. But we had our own
- 27:13Speaker 2: thing going on as well.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Fuck yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 2: More than 230 people were killed, civilians and military people,
- 27:19Speaker 2: with hundreds more wounded. 68 air raids. It was pretty amazing.
- 27:26Speaker 1: And what happened after the attack happened?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Well, we just carried on with World War II, didn't we?
- 27:34Speaker 1: Yes, we did.
- 27:36Speaker 2: We beat the fucking Germans, man. That's what happened. They
- 27:39Speaker 2: had a few wins. We won the war, man.
- 27:41Speaker 1: That was it.
- 27:42Speaker 2: We won the war. It's funny. I'm looking at my
- 27:45Speaker 2: special at the moment. I wanted to call my special Hitler, right?
- 27:49Speaker 2: I've got three Hitler jokes in it. That's the only
- 27:51Speaker 2: reason I wanted to call Hitler. I'm not a fan
- 27:53Speaker 2: of Hitler. I'm not pro-Hitler. I've just got three. And
- 27:56Speaker 2: I was thinking to myself, because everything's about algorithm, right?
- 27:59Speaker 2: How's the algorithm? Who's... Who gets searched more than Hitler?
- 28:04Speaker 2: I type his name into Netflix all the time if
- 28:07Speaker 2: I'm bored and I want to watch a documentary. I
- 28:10Speaker 2: don't put like a heart emoji next to it. I just,
- 28:12Speaker 2: you know, and I thought that could get a few
- 28:15Speaker 2: clicks if I call the thing Hitler. Anyway, suffice to say,
- 28:17Speaker 2: I had some pushback from Netflix. Netflix was like, it
- 28:21Speaker 2: won't be an aggressive font. It'll be a soft font.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Like Ariel or something.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah. And, uh, I, I, so I, I wanted to
- 28:31Speaker 2: go to Hitler in the end. I landed on two
- 28:33Speaker 2: limb policy, which I'm very happy with the name, but, um,
- 28:37Speaker 2: but I just got back all the rankings of, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 2: where it is in the top 10. I don't know
- 28:42Speaker 2: if it's because I do the Hitler jokes, but out
- 28:44Speaker 2: of all of Europe, I'm about to tour Europe right now,
- 28:47Speaker 2: a full year or two. And I sell really well
- 28:49Speaker 2: in Germany, but for some reason. Germany and Austria haven't
- 28:52Speaker 2: gotten in the top 10. I don't know if there's
- 28:54Speaker 2: some shit everywhere around. Poland I'm crushing.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But Hitler's their guy.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but they're not proud of it. No, some
- 29:03Speaker 2: of them are. They're not proud.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Two-limb policy right there.
- 29:06Speaker 2: There we are, two-limb policy. Now, the two-limb policy stands
- 29:09Speaker 2: for After I did my sitcom.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I know you meet with the veterans after your show, right?
- 29:14Speaker 2: I've heard about this. I do. I meet with disabled people.
- 29:17Speaker 1: You meet with disabled folks after your show? Yeah, yeah.
- 29:19Speaker 2: So after my shows, I take photographs with disabled people.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I did a sitcom many years ago that had disabled actors,
- 29:25Speaker 2: and then I sort of became a thing. And I
- 29:28Speaker 2: used to actually just sort of go get the security
- 29:30Speaker 2: to go and sort of whisper to the wheelchair seats
- 29:33Speaker 2: and go, here's a thing, come back afterwards.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Come on around, yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 2: But people started finding out about that, and people would
- 29:39Speaker 2: write to me and go, hey, I'm coming to see
- 29:41Speaker 2: you perform this week and I'm bringing my uncle, he's disabled,
- 29:44Speaker 2: can we come backstage? And you can't write back how disabled.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean? And you can't ask for
- 29:51Speaker 2: a photo. You just got to go. Because I can't
- 29:54Speaker 2: have fucking dyslexics showing up, right? There needs to be.
- 29:57Speaker 2: So as I say in the special, I always handle
- 30:00Speaker 2: the classics. Deaf, blind wheelchair. And also, you can't just
- 30:05Speaker 2: be like slightly deaf. You've got to have a dog
- 30:07Speaker 2: or a cane. You've got to be a beast master.
- 30:08Speaker 2: And if you're deaf, you've got to have the voice, right?
- 30:10Speaker 2: There's no better way to say it.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like those pseudo blind people. Like I'm
- 30:15Speaker 1: color blind or whatever.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I'm 80% blind.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Like I'm colorblind, but I still say the N word.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I'm like, what are you doing? You've got to choose
- 30:23Speaker 1: a path.
- 30:24Speaker 2: So if you aren't one of the classics, I have
- 30:27Speaker 2: a two-limb policy. So you can't just be like a
- 30:30Speaker 2: fat fuck who lost your foot to diabetes. You know
- 30:32Speaker 2: what I mean? That doesn't get you backstage because you
- 30:34Speaker 2: had too much candy.
- 30:35Speaker 1: But it's crazy that people are faking that kind of shit.
- 30:37Speaker 2: No, no one's faking it, but I just decided what
- 30:39Speaker 2: was my parameters. Got it. No one was faking. I
- 30:42Speaker 2: never had anyone coming back. I think... I was letting
- 30:45Speaker 2: the autistic back in the, uh, some of them were
- 30:47Speaker 2: over autism.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yeah. And I was like, I thought, I thought, I
- 30:53Speaker 2: don't think this is your real self. I think you're
- 30:55Speaker 2: playing this up for the cameras a little bit. Um, so, so,
- 30:59Speaker 2: but I do count autism as one limb. So if
- 31:02Speaker 2: you have a flamidomide arm and autism. Right. Beautiful.
- 31:06Speaker 1: You're in.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Lazy eye or autism. Here we go.
- 31:09Speaker 1: What about missing an ear?
- 31:11Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, yeah, I'd do missing an ear all day. Yeah.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Like Mark Chopper Reed.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Oh, he has one. He had one. You know that
- 31:18Speaker 1: moment when you've left your favorite sunglasses at the beach
- 31:21Speaker 1: or you gave them to a child or something and
- 31:25Speaker 1: he's gone. You already left them on the top of
- 31:28Speaker 1: the car. You left them on a gas station, a
- 31:30Speaker 1: gas pump three states away. You know it. God, that's
- 31:35Speaker 1: how I feel. But you don't have to fear anymore
- 31:38Speaker 1: because Shady Rays is here. And they're ready to help.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Shady Rays sunglasses changed the game for me. They're made
- 31:45Speaker 1: for real life. They're durable. They're polarized. They're not stupidly expensive.

- 34:01Speaker 1: That's T-R-Y-A-R-M-R-A dot com slash T-H-E-O.
- 34:09Speaker 2: You ever seen the movie Chopper?
- 34:11Speaker 1: I haven't.
- 34:13Speaker 2: This is my gift to you. Go see the movie.
- 34:15Speaker 2: That's Eric Banner's first dramatic role, right? Before that, Eric Banner,
- 34:19Speaker 2: you know the actor Eric Banner? Eric Banner was a
- 34:23Speaker 2: stand-up comedian.
- 34:25Speaker 1: You'd seen him perform before?
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. He was famous in Australia. Fuck yeah. He
- 34:29Speaker 2: was doing, he did characters. He used to do impersonations
- 34:32Speaker 2: and all that type of stuff. He even had a
- 34:34Speaker 2: show called The Eric Banner Show where he played. Now,
- 34:36Speaker 2: that's the real Chopper Reed, right? So the one up
- 34:38Speaker 2: in the top corner there, the one next to him
- 34:40Speaker 2: is the real guy. Chopper. Now, if you look at him,
- 34:43Speaker 2: he doesn't have ears. Oh yeah. Right.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Kind of drawn on. Right.
- 34:47Speaker 2: So what happened was he killed a whole lot of people.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Then he went in prison. Then there was a mark
- 34:51Speaker 2: on him where they were like 50, I'm saying an
- 34:54Speaker 2: arbitrary number, $ 50, 000 to kill Mark Reed. Yeah. Right. And
- 34:58Speaker 2: so he said, I need to be moved out of
- 34:59Speaker 2: the cell block. I can't be in this cell block.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Everyone's trying to kill me. They're trying to kill me.
- 35:03Speaker 2: And the governor's like, I can't help you, Mark.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Seats taken.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Oh. Why did he take his ears off so he
- 35:10Speaker 1: didn't want to hear about it?
- 35:11Speaker 2: Because he has to go into the hospital in the
- 35:13Speaker 2: infirmary or they'll move him or something like that for
- 35:15Speaker 2: his own safety. He got his ears cut off. He
- 35:18Speaker 2: got another bloke to do it with a razor and
- 35:20Speaker 2: fucking peel it off. It's a banger of a movie. Now,
- 35:24Speaker 2: when you see the movie, right, so the movie is
- 35:28Speaker 2: Eric Banner is unbelievable. It's what made Eric Banner a star.
- 35:31Speaker 2: He was just a stand-up comic in Australia who'd been
- 35:34Speaker 2: in a little movie called The Castle, which is a
- 35:36Speaker 2: great comedy. That's another podcast. And then Eric Banner becomes
- 35:39Speaker 2: Chopper and does this thing and he gains tons of weight.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Gets really fat for it and all that type of stuff.
- 35:45Speaker 2: And then his next movie, I believe, is The Hulk
- 35:48Speaker 2: or Black Hawk Down and then he's in fucking Troy- With,
- 35:51Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Like it's kind of, yeah.
- 35:53Speaker 2: So Chopper, Black Hawk Down, another Australian movie. Then he's
- 35:57Speaker 2: the fucking Hulk. And then he's with bloody Brad Pitt.
- 36:01Speaker 1: With the good looking people.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:02Speaker 1: When they put you with the good looking people, you're
- 36:04Speaker 1: doing good. Yeah, Munich.
- 36:06Speaker 2: That's Steven Spielberg, Munich. Like it went from zero to
- 36:10Speaker 2: 100 very quick. Wow. You know, like, and he was,
- 36:14Speaker 2: as I said, just a standup comedian.
- 36:15Speaker 1: And he still lives in Australia.
- 36:17Speaker 2: He still lives in Australia, still lives in Australia. And
- 36:20Speaker 2: I don't think he does stand up anymore. I've spoken
- 36:22Speaker 2: to him online a couple of times as one Australian
- 36:26Speaker 2: to another type of thing. I think he one time
- 36:29Speaker 2: saw one of my specials and was like, I enjoyed it.
- 36:32Speaker 2: That's the only chat I've had.
- 36:34Speaker 1: So cool, though.
- 36:35Speaker 2: But this is the weird thing. People you like, you
- 36:38Speaker 2: get to speak to fucking Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.
- 36:41Speaker 2: You get to meet both sides of the whole world. Plus,
- 36:45Speaker 2: you get to interview whoever the fuck. When you get
- 36:48Speaker 2: to a certain level of fame, there's people you can
- 36:50Speaker 2: just sort of reach out to and go, hey, and
- 36:52Speaker 2: then just see if something comes back. So at the moment,
- 36:55Speaker 2: I'm wearing... my favorite entertainer in the world, and I
- 36:58Speaker 2: wore this T-shirt because you're the only interview I've ever
- 37:01Speaker 2: found of Chris Lilley.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Dude, well, he, first of all, yeah, I remember asking
- 37:06Speaker 1: you last time that we talked if you had met him,
- 37:10Speaker 1: and you hadn't yet.
- 37:11Speaker 2: No, still haven't. I've only spoken to him online. I've
- 37:13Speaker 2: never heard his voice. He once came to one of
- 37:17Speaker 2: my shows, and he wrote, oh, I was just at
- 37:18Speaker 2: your show, really funny, good stuff or whatever, but he
- 37:21Speaker 2: didn't come backstage.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Oh, he's kind of like a... He's a little bit
- 37:25Speaker 1: of like a missing person kind of.
- 37:27Speaker 2: He's an introvert, but he's a genius.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Oh, he's magical.
- 37:30Speaker 2: He's a genius. His TV shows, it was like I
- 37:34Speaker 2: started showing his shows to my son when he was 11.
- 37:36Speaker 1: He's a magic baby.
- 37:37Speaker 2: And then just to see what he's– if he went,
- 37:40Speaker 2: this is brilliant, I knew that my son actually knew comedy.
- 37:43Speaker 1: And was going to be a good person.
- 37:45Speaker 2: He knew what comedy was. Or if he went, oh,
- 37:48Speaker 2: I don't really get it. This is boring. What's a
- 37:50Speaker 2: guy– because it's one guy playing all the different characters
- 37:53Speaker 2: and all that sort of stuff. And he got cancelled
- 37:55Speaker 2: for the wrong reasons.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Summer Heights High, yeah, it was one of the best
- 37:57Speaker 1: shows ever, first of all.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Summer Heights High is unbelievable. Jemay Private School. Now he's
- 38:02Speaker 2: got a podcast of Mr. G, who's my favourite character. Oh, yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Bad Habit for Drugs.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's a naughty girl with a bad habit.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Bad Habit for Drugs. Ecstasy. Ecstasy. Yeah, he's the fucking...
- 38:20Speaker 2: He is.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna....
- 38:24Speaker 2: For Australia, right? Yeah. I'm going to say he's the
- 38:27Speaker 2: greatest Australian entertainer we've ever had. I'm including Hugh Jackman,
- 38:31Speaker 2: Russell Crowe. I'm including fucking ACDC, man.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Right?
- 38:35Speaker 2: Right? And all those people I love. Oh, yeah. I'm
- 38:39Speaker 2: very proud to say from Australia.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Volkanovski also.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Who's Volkanovski?
- 38:43Speaker 1: Alexander Volkanovski. Is he New Zealand? He's Australian.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Australian. I haven't lived there for 20 years. Am I
- 38:49Speaker 2: about to be in trouble?
- 38:50Speaker 1: He's a UFC guy, no.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Oh, no, I don't follow the UFC.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Oh, you don't? That's good then.
- 38:53Speaker 2: No, no, no. He's a class athlete. No, no, athletes
- 38:57Speaker 2: is a different thing. Okay, athletes excluded. I'm talking about entertainment.
- 39:00Speaker 2: We've had some great athletes, man.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Do you know that- Ben Simmons was kind of mid.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but three-time All-Star. Facts. Three-time All-Star.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Never mind.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Sorry, Ben. All right, all right. Luke Longley played in
- 39:14Speaker 2: the greatest team of all time, was the first Australian
- 39:17Speaker 2: in the NBA. When the dream team went to play
- 39:21Speaker 2: fucking the rest of the world in Barcelona, there was
- 39:23Speaker 2: only six players, international players that were in the NBA. Six.
- 39:27Speaker 2: And now there was like 60 or 70 in this
- 39:29Speaker 2: last one. The Australians actually had like a proper team.
- 39:33Speaker 2: But Luke Longley was just a big tall cunt. from
- 39:35Speaker 2: fucking Fremantle, Perth, brother. Yeah. Right? And then he's playing
- 39:39Speaker 2: with Michael Jordan, and he was the only cunt out
- 39:41Speaker 2: there with an accent that wasn't American or Eastern European. Yeah. Right? Like,
- 39:46Speaker 2: that was pretty. Now you've got, like, Josh Giddey, and
- 39:48Speaker 2: you've got Andrew Bogart played before. You've got Daniel Dyson
- 39:52Speaker 2: just got the block record, the steel record.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Zarvita Zobonis. What's that guy's name? That big guy,
- 39:59Speaker 1: Bulgan Durgan. Bogander Bogdan Bojanovic but I think he's saying Australian.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Australians they're all Australians oh our Olympic team is all
- 40:10Speaker 2: NBA players yeah class I don't understand why Britain hasn't
- 40:14Speaker 2: gotten into basketball yeah okay how do I say this
- 40:18Speaker 2: they've got they've got tall they've got black people they've
- 40:20Speaker 2: got loads of them right they've got I think it's
- 40:23Speaker 2: A place that it rains every fucking day.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 2: It rains every day and you, and in a confined
- 40:30Speaker 2: space and you haven't picked up basketball. Yeah. They're just
- 40:35Speaker 2: trying to be fucking difficult.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what they're trying to be. They're too fucking– like, oh,
- 40:40Speaker 1: we don't know. Maybe they don't want a bunch of
- 40:42Speaker 1: black guys just hanging out in the park or something.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I don't know what they're– We don't need the park.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Indoor basketball courts. Just get it made. But Travis Bazzana,
- 40:49Speaker 2: the number one major league pick last year in the draft,
- 40:53Speaker 2: is from Hornsby. Let's go. Born in the same hospital
- 40:56Speaker 2: as me, bro. Fuck yeah. And this guy, this guy,
- 40:59Speaker 2: fucking– this is just a coincidence. Me and Chris Lilley
- 41:02Speaker 2: are I think the same age– give or take a year.
- 41:05Speaker 2: We're the same age. He went to the private school,
- 41:08Speaker 2: I believe, up the road from me, and I went
- 41:09Speaker 2: to the public school up the road from me. But
- 41:11Speaker 2: we grew up in the same bit of the northern
- 41:13Speaker 2: suburbs of Sydney.
- 41:14Speaker 1: You remember seeing him as a kid?
- 41:16Speaker 2: No, I've never met him. But it's just– there's every
- 41:20Speaker 2: chance that me and him were at the same party
- 41:22Speaker 2: or something like that. Every fucking chance as kids that
- 41:25Speaker 2: we were at the same party. But I was– it's
- 41:28Speaker 2: weird when you get that, where you go, oh, wow,
- 41:30Speaker 2: he grew up near me. Yeah. Oh.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Oh.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I can't champion Chris Lilley enough, man.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Oh, dude, I saw him in Byron Bay, right?
- 41:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Right outside of Sydney.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Byron Bay. Oh, no, no.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I saw him in Bondi Beach.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Bondi Beach is in Sydney, but it's the most famous
- 41:55Speaker 2: beach in Australia.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Oh, beautiful over there. Even the fucking men's is good looking.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Were you doing the voice then?
- 42:03Speaker 1: I don't know what I was doing. I just didn't
- 42:04Speaker 1: want to.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Seem like a gay guy. Even the men's is good looking.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all right. But I remember we met up
- 42:11Speaker 1: for lunch. And I had some other people that I
- 42:14Speaker 1: was like other comedians and stuff. And I was like, well,
- 42:17Speaker 1: he kind of keeps to himself. So I don't know
- 42:18Speaker 1: if I want to have a bunch of people here
- 42:19Speaker 1: when he shows up. So why don't you guys take
- 42:21Speaker 1: a walk or whatever? So I walked outside with them.
- 42:23Speaker 1: And then when I came back in, he was sitting
- 42:25Speaker 1: just like facing the water like out on this balcony.
- 42:28Speaker 1: And then I just went and sat by him. And
- 42:30Speaker 1: we just sat and talked. He had on like this hat.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I'll include some photos from it and stuff. But it
- 42:35Speaker 1: was just awesome. Just like, yeah, it's almost like meeting
- 42:38Speaker 1: with like a mythical creature kind of in a way.
- 42:40Speaker 1: He's so special.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he's as gifted a human being that has ever been.
- 42:45Speaker 1: To be able to do all that. The bravest part
- 42:47Speaker 1: is just to be able to take on all those
- 42:49Speaker 1: characters at once, I think. And then just put yourself
- 42:52Speaker 1: out there that much. Because you're not saying that, hey,
- 42:54Speaker 1: my character's going to be good. You're going to say,
- 42:55Speaker 1: you're saying five of my characters are going to be good.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Your brain leaves you. And you believe that he's a
- 43:01Speaker 2: 16-year-old girl. Yeah. Just after a little while, you go– now,
- 43:05Speaker 2: it's one thing for him to be a gay high
- 43:08Speaker 2: school drama teacher, right? That's just a wig. He's still
- 43:11Speaker 2: a guy. But then when you watch Jemay and you're
- 43:15Speaker 2: like– and then like– and also this whole thing that's like, oh,
- 43:18Speaker 2: he did blackface or he did this, he did that, right?
- 43:21Speaker 1: Look at him. And he look– he's like a koala.
- 43:22Speaker 2: But– But then to do Jonah from Tonga and there's
- 43:29Speaker 2: real genuine moments of heart. There's times you can cry
- 43:35Speaker 2: watching Jonah that you feel for him so much and
- 43:37Speaker 2: that you understand why he's a little shit. It's not
- 43:40Speaker 2: just a one-dimensional, this kid's a shit-stirring troublemaker. And I
- 43:44Speaker 2: think that's what people lastly, oh, he's taking the piss
- 43:46Speaker 2: out of Tongans. And it's like, yeah, I guess he is,
- 43:49Speaker 2: but it's so much more than that.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Even Tongans fucking loved it. Real Tongans loved it. The
- 43:53Speaker 1: only people that don't like shit, are people that don't
- 43:56Speaker 1: own it who want to write articles about it.
- 43:58Speaker 2: My son went out for Halloween this year as Jonah
- 44:01Speaker 2: from Tonga. Didn't do anything with his skin, just the
- 44:04Speaker 2: shirt and the tie.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Dude, I say go a nice polish. Don't do anything heavy,
- 44:08Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying? Don't do anything super close
- 44:10Speaker 1: to the equator. But I would go with like, you know, yeah,
- 44:13Speaker 1: a good bronzer, I think.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Well, I don't think he was going to put that
- 44:15Speaker 2: much effort in. I think laziness stopped him from being canceled.
- 44:20Speaker 1: He's like, stop looking at my dick, mum.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Oh, no. Oh, no, don't do that. What
- 44:25Speaker 2: do you do that for?
- 44:25Speaker 1: Stop looking at my dick, miss.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Oh, miss. Oh, miss. Oh, the best.
- 44:30Speaker 1: And then when they start breakdancing and then that other
- 44:32Speaker 1: kid comes in and he's a better breakdancer.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I would argue that Chris Lilley is a better breakdancer
- 44:38Speaker 2: than Ray Gunn The Australian lady who entered the Olympics.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Fuck yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 2: And she put out a bet. Did you know about
- 44:45Speaker 2: the bet she put out? She goes, oh, you think
- 44:47Speaker 2: you're a better dancer than me? And she cracks her
- 44:48Speaker 2: knuckles and goes, how about, I think it was like
- 44:51Speaker 2: five grand or something. You can find the clip where
- 44:53Speaker 2: Ray Gunn puts it. There she is, old Ray Gunn.
- 44:55Speaker 2: She's dressed like she's from the local bolo, which is
- 44:58Speaker 2: lawn bowls. And she just, everyone else is wearing street clothes.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Then she does the kangaroo dance. But if you can
- 45:04Speaker 2: find the clip of where she challenges people, Ray Gunn
- 45:08Speaker 2: challenges people, it's.
- 45:12Speaker 1: And wasn't there like a ledge, like a big... That's
- 45:14Speaker 1: it there. That's it there.
- 45:15Speaker 2: $ 10, 000 prize. She put out $ 10, 000 prize. If you can
- 45:20Speaker 2: dance better than Ray Gunn, surely someone's... I can't dance
- 45:24Speaker 2: better than Ray Gunn.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Yeah, who won that shit?
- 45:28Speaker 2: But she was a middle-class woman, from a middle-class white
- 45:31Speaker 2: woman who had studied... hip hop at university and had
- 45:35Speaker 2: a degree in it. And then like Australia was just like, oh,
- 45:38Speaker 2: the girl's got a degree. It must be the one,
- 45:41Speaker 2: you know, I don't think our Olympic panel. are savvy
- 45:47Speaker 2: with the hip-hop world and the dancing. It's not to
- 45:51Speaker 2: say there aren't kids who are doing dancing in the
- 45:54Speaker 2: street and stuff in Australia that can't do it. We're
- 45:56Speaker 2: a very multicultural country. Without a doubt, there are people
- 45:58Speaker 2: who can fucking breakdance in Australia. I've seen them do it.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Class, yeah.
- 46:02Speaker 2: But the people who actually decided, there's a lovely young girl,
- 46:08Speaker 2: Rachel Gunn, we're going to call her Ray Gunn, bit
- 46:10Speaker 2: of fun. And because I was, I was in Bondi, um,
- 46:16Speaker 2: when the Olympics were on and my phone lit up,
- 46:19Speaker 2: just lit up with all these people going, going, Oh,
- 46:23Speaker 2: you've got to watch it. Are you watching the TV?
- 46:25Speaker 2: And it was every American comic who knew me. was
- 46:28Speaker 2: just like.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Trying to relate to you.
- 46:30Speaker 2: No, no, they were trying to take the piss like, oh,
- 46:32Speaker 2: your people are on the TV right now. Because that's
- 46:35Speaker 2: the thing about, you know, being a white Australian, we're
- 46:38Speaker 2: not inherently cool, you know what I mean? And so
- 46:40Speaker 2: then when Ray Gunn comes, that doesn't fucking help our cause.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that was bad.
- 46:43Speaker 2: It's like watching 9-11, it was.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:47Speaker 2: For a Muslim. You know when a Muslim watches 9-11
- 46:49Speaker 2: and they think, oh, this will make my life harder? Yeah.
- 46:51Speaker 2: That's what that was.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Ray Gunn was the Australian 9-11 kind of.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Australian 9-11.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Oh, Christ, God.
- 46:58Speaker 2: But the balls on her just to walk out of
- 47:01Speaker 2: the Olympics and have a go. It was the only
- 47:03Speaker 2: athlete that Snoop Dogg who– you remember how Snoop Dogg
- 47:06Speaker 2: was just at the Olympics just like wearing the equestrian outfit?
- 47:10Speaker 1: Well, so was Leslie Jones. Didn't they just have– like
- 47:12Speaker 1: sometimes they started hiring more celebrities to just be there.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Yeah, just to be there and just show up at events. Yeah.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I pitched a show to Australian TV because the Olympics
- 47:21Speaker 2: are coming out, and I don't know if this show
- 47:23Speaker 2: will ever go ahead, but I pitched it to Australian telly.
- 47:25Speaker 2: I said, how about you get me interviewing people– The athletes,
- 47:29Speaker 2: the Australian athletes, I'm already here. You don't have to
- 47:32Speaker 2: bring anyone out. I'll do like a little comedy show
- 47:34Speaker 2: that's like after the proper show. After you watch all
- 47:37Speaker 2: the highlights, we can do like a little comedy tonight
- 47:39Speaker 2: show where we just do the Olympics and make it
- 47:41Speaker 2: a two run thing. So make it. 10 episodes, out
- 47:46Speaker 2: the door, fucking done. Hopefully I can do it, brother.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I reckon that would be a bit of fun.
- 47:49Speaker 1: That'd be sick. The Olympics are going to be in Australia?
- 47:52Speaker 2: No, here.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Oh, in the US?
- 47:53Speaker 2: LA. Oh, fuck. Here, here.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Oh, shit.
- 47:56Speaker 2: You don't know that the next Olympics are here? Nuh-uh. Oh,
- 47:59Speaker 2: the traffic's going to get worse.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Oh, it's going to be bad. Oh, it's going to
- 48:02Speaker 1: be bad. You'll probably, I wonder if they'll have one
- 48:03Speaker 1: of those.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I mean. And you've got the World Cup. Oh, yeah.
- 48:07Speaker 2: That's great. Everything's going on. Do you know the Olympics
- 48:10Speaker 2: are the reason you have palm trees?
- 48:12Speaker 1: Uh-uh.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I used to do a podcast called, I don't know
- 48:15Speaker 2: about that, right, where I used to learn about a
- 48:17Speaker 2: new thing. And one of the things was the Olympics.
- 48:20Speaker 2: And I was learning. I do a podcast at this
- 48:22Speaker 2: moment with Amos Gill. Are you friends with Amos? You
- 48:24Speaker 2: know Amos? He's an Australian comic, very, very good comic.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Me and him do a podcast at this moment, so
- 48:29Speaker 2: follow my podcast. But palm trees.
- 48:33Speaker 1: There he is, Amos.
- 48:34Speaker 2: There was no palm trees in L.A. They're not indigenous
- 48:39Speaker 2: to L.A. And then when you had your first Olympics,
- 48:41Speaker 2: and I don't know what year, They planted all those
- 48:44Speaker 2: ones along Beverly Hills just to spruce the place up
- 48:46Speaker 2: a bit because visitors were coming. How about we plant
- 48:50Speaker 2: some palm trees? They grow by themselves. They take very
- 48:53Speaker 2: little fucking work, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Right. Yeah, see,
- 48:56Speaker 2: I'm not lying. The internet's back. I like how you've
- 49:00Speaker 2: got a guy who's always checking if I'm full of shit.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Every time he's, oh, no, no, he said it, right?
- 49:05Speaker 2: And so they planted 25,000 to 40,000, and that was 1932, right?
- 49:13Speaker 2: And at each game since then, when you've had the
- 49:17Speaker 2: Olympics since then, you've planted more palm trees. So the reason...
- 49:20Speaker 2: that LA looks like LA, like what it's synonymous with,
- 49:23Speaker 2: if you were to do a silhouette of LA.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Palms right there.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Palm trees.
- 49:27Speaker 1: It's kind of the only thing in the silhouette, really.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Yeah, a couple of buildings, undescriptive buildings, palm trees, Dodger
- 49:33Speaker 2: Stadium out the door.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Beverly Hilton. Yeah, the Beverly Hills Hotel. I think there's
- 49:37Speaker 1: palm trees in their emblem probably.
- 49:39Speaker 2: There's palm trees everywhere. That one there, the wallpaper's all
- 49:42Speaker 2: palm trees.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah, even if you're like, you see people's videos or movies,
- 49:45Speaker 1: every time you see the palm trees, you see it.
- 49:48Speaker 1: It might be Beverly.
- 49:49Speaker 2: That's a lovely hotel.
- 49:50Speaker 1: That is a nice place, man. It is nice over there. Yeah,
- 49:54Speaker 1: I didn't know that at all, man. I love the
- 49:56Speaker 1: fact that Australia has so many amazing people though, man.
- 50:01Speaker 1: That's just one thing that I loved about it. Just
- 50:03Speaker 1: fucking amazing. And it's peaceful, man. It's safe, dude. That
- 50:06Speaker 1: was one thing I realized. You're in Australia.
- 50:08Speaker 2: It is safe.
- 50:09Speaker 1: It's safe.
- 50:09Speaker 2: It is safe.
- 50:10Speaker 1: You're like, oh, this is nice.
- 50:12Speaker 2: But, you know, look, I don't want your audience turning
- 50:14Speaker 2: on me. I'm the gun control guy. You know what
- 50:16Speaker 2: I mean? And I understand. I've lived in America long enough. It's, yeah,
- 50:21Speaker 2: Australia is a very safe place, but not without, you
- 50:23Speaker 2: know what they're having at the moment? They're having a,
- 50:26Speaker 2: you know how like the turn in your guns? Mm-hmm.
- 50:29Speaker 2: They're having machete bins in Australia. Machete bins. This is
- 50:34Speaker 2: a brand new thing.
- 50:35Speaker 1: People having issues with the shetties?
- 50:38Speaker 2: Disposable bins.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Let me see it right here. An Australian state has
- 50:43Speaker 1: asked citizens to surrender machetes at disposal bins ahead of
- 50:46Speaker 1: a statewide ban on the weapons aimed at combating knife crime.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Australia's state of Victoria on Thursday announced that more than
- 50:52Speaker 1: 40 machete disposal bins will be available at police stations
- 50:55Speaker 1: across the state to allow citizens to to safely get
- 50:58Speaker 1: rid of the weapons without a penalty before September 1st ban. Wow.
- 51:02Speaker 2: I reckon people are just throwing food and stuff in there, though. Oh, yeah.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Just recyclables?
- 51:08Speaker 2: Yeah, just throw in an arm just from your last murder.
- 51:12Speaker 2: And you go, I'll throw the machete in as well.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Look at this fine right here. Those who did not
- 51:16Speaker 1: surrender their machetes during the amnesty period may face imprisonment.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Of up to two years or a fine of more
- 51:22Speaker 1: than 47,000 Australian. Wow.
- 51:24Speaker 2: 37,000 American. Yeah, look, there is a little bit more
- 51:28Speaker 2: nanny state in Australia. We do have, there's more speed cameras.
- 51:32Speaker 2: You notice it when you go back. Yeah, it's a
- 51:37Speaker 2: little strict. They do a thing in Australia that I
- 51:40Speaker 2: find with around long weekends. So Easter, for example, yeah,
- 51:46Speaker 2: long weekend. They will have the death toll. On the TV.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 51:51Speaker 2: Yeah, where they talk about how many car accidents and
- 51:54Speaker 2: how many people have died during this long weekend from
- 51:57Speaker 2: drink driving or from speeding or whatever. And they'll go
- 52:00Speaker 2: by all the states. Five states.
- 52:02Speaker 1: See who has the most?
- 52:04Speaker 2: Yeah. See who's bloody Western Australia is doing terrible this
- 52:08Speaker 2: year with five deaths on the death toll. We also
- 52:13Speaker 2: have four deaths in Queensland. They're not doing well. Oh, Victoria,
- 52:17Speaker 2: one death. Well done. Boo.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Somebody yells boo from behind a camera.
- 52:22Speaker 2: But imagine doing that in America. Imagine like a Labor
- 52:25Speaker 2: Day weekend. We're going to count up all the deaths
- 52:28Speaker 2: that are happening on the highways, and then we're going
- 52:30Speaker 2: to report it. And we're going to shame everyone. Also,
- 52:33Speaker 2: long weekend, they do double demerits.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 52:35Speaker 2: For what?
- 52:36Speaker 1: If you get in trouble?
- 52:37Speaker 2: Yeah. So let's say you start with 12 points. You
- 52:40Speaker 2: lose one point for a seatbelt, three points for speeding,
- 52:43Speaker 2: you know, things like that. Really speeding, you lose six points.
- 52:46Speaker 2: I think America goes the other way upwards or whatever, right?
- 52:48Speaker 2: You gain points. On long weekends, holiday weekends, it's double.
- 52:53Speaker 2: So seatbelt two, speeding six, man.
- 52:55Speaker 1: And if you get 12, what's out? You're out?
- 52:56Speaker 2: You're out. Oh, Australia has a bit of a double
- 52:58Speaker 2: or nothing policy, which is like a thing we do
- 53:01Speaker 2: because people go, oh, but I need me car for work.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:05Speaker 2: What if I can't do it for work? The Australian
- 53:07Speaker 2: government goes like this. We'll give you one point, right?
- 53:12Speaker 2: And you have to have that point for a year.
- 53:15Speaker 2: And so, yeah, so you can either lose your license
- 53:17Speaker 2: for three months or Or you can have one point
- 53:20Speaker 2: for a year. And if you lose it, then you
- 53:22Speaker 2: lose your license for a year. So you can't fucking
- 53:26Speaker 2: roll through a stop sign. You know what I mean?
- 53:29Speaker 1: I like that. But you put things on the Australian citizen.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I think they take things seriously. There's a lot of
- 53:35Speaker 1: Americans that take things seriously, but there's a lot of
- 53:37Speaker 1: other fucking... Just fucktards who don't give a shit, you know?
- 53:41Speaker 2: Oh, we have fucktards who don't give a shit. We're
- 53:43Speaker 2: not short on them. Yeah. The world's got them. Oh, yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe you're right. Maybe I'm being a little bit
- 53:48Speaker 1: hard on Americans today.
- 53:49Speaker 2: No, America, man, I always have to stipulate this, man.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Fucking what a wonderful place, man. Yeah. What opportunities and
- 53:57Speaker 2: things you can do. Just the basic fact that you
- 54:01Speaker 2: have $ 330 million in such a small place, right? You
- 54:04Speaker 2: know when you're flying around doing gigs in Australia, you
- 54:06Speaker 2: didn't get any fucking connecting flights, did you? You just
- 54:09Speaker 2: went to those cities. Yeah. They all went to each
- 54:11Speaker 2: other because we've got five major fucking cities. Yeah. Right?
- 54:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:15Speaker 2: And then you drove out to the more rural places
- 54:17Speaker 2: or whatever. But like in America, okay, I've got to
- 54:19Speaker 2: stop in Charlotte because it's a hub. And I'm always
- 54:21Speaker 2: complaining about it. But then I think to myself, how
- 54:24Speaker 2: wonderful that we can– I've been here for 15 or
- 54:28Speaker 2: 16 years and there's still towns I haven't played. There's
- 54:33Speaker 2: still cities I still have to go to. I've been
- 54:35Speaker 2: to most of them over and over again. Yeah. But
- 54:37Speaker 2: there's so much space. And there's also, you can be
- 54:40Speaker 2: a popular comedian in the Midwest and that can be
- 54:43Speaker 2: your territory where, you know, you have your fan base
- 54:46Speaker 2: and you don't have to travel too far. Or you
- 54:48Speaker 2: can be someone who's just really popular in San Francisco
- 54:52Speaker 2: or whatever. You know what I mean? Like it's that diverse.
- 54:55Speaker 2: And people shit on America a lot because of your
- 54:58Speaker 2: low rate of people who have passports. Yeah.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 55:01Speaker 2: That's a stat they always say in Australia and Britain
- 55:05Speaker 2: is like, you know, like 40 percent of Americans don't
- 55:08Speaker 2: even have a passport. Right. And I used to think, oh,
- 55:11Speaker 2: that is a I don't know the exact state stat.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Let's take a look at it right here. As of
- 55:15Speaker 1: late 2024, approximately 51 percent of Americans have a valid passport.
- 55:19Speaker 1: This reflects an increase from 46 percent in 2023 and
- 55:21Speaker 1: 30 percent in 2008. Um, compare that to other states.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Compare that to Australia or England. So, so we're saying
- 55:32Speaker 2: 49% of you don't have passports, right? That is high.
- 55:35Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 55:36Speaker 2: That is high. Like you're an international traveler. You think
- 55:40Speaker 2: you think nothing of having a passport. Of course you
- 55:42Speaker 2: should have a passport, right? Oh, you guys is 55, 55%. 55, 77,
- 55:49Speaker 2: 77 in the UK because you're going to holiday in France.
- 55:52Speaker 2: It's a fucking two hour train ride. Of course, you're
- 55:54Speaker 2: going to do that. You need to have that.
- 55:56Speaker 1: You go for lunch.
- 55:58Speaker 2: That surprises me. Australia is only at 55. We're only
- 56:01Speaker 2: a little bit higher.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Well, we've been catching up for some reason. I mean,
- 56:04Speaker 1: we're 30% in 2008. I wonder what's caused us.
- 56:06Speaker 2: So 30% is bad.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yeah. 30%.
- 56:09Speaker 2: But I, I never understood it until I moved to
- 56:11Speaker 2: America and I'm like, Well, you can do everything here.
- 56:15Speaker 2: You literally have every weather condition that you want to enjoy.
- 56:20Speaker 2: You want to go whitewater rafting. You want to go
- 56:22Speaker 2: to a winter wonderland and fucking go into a resort
- 56:25Speaker 2: up there. You want to go tropical. I can take
- 56:27Speaker 2: you down here.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Yeah, volcano.
- 56:29Speaker 2: You want to see big city things. You want to
- 56:31Speaker 2: go to Hawaii.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Storm, quicksand.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. You've got every environment on earth. is in
- 56:40Speaker 2: the ecosystem of America. Plus, you've got fucking Disneyland.
- 56:45Speaker 1: You've got Epcot Center that has fake environments.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Exactly. You can see the whole world there. You don't
- 56:50Speaker 2: have to go anywhere. Just wander around there. Watch It's
- 56:53Speaker 2: a Small World After All. That's how you can tell
- 56:55Speaker 2: what all the different children look like. So I get
- 57:01Speaker 2: it because you don't really have to.
- 57:04Speaker 1: You kind of have everything that you need, but there
- 57:06Speaker 1: is something beautiful about going. One thing that I remember
- 57:09Speaker 1: when I first started traveling was. The first people you
- 57:11Speaker 1: see everywhere, and this is one thing I always admired,
- 57:13Speaker 1: are Australians, dude.
- 57:14Speaker 2: They're fucking balls to the wall.
- 57:17Speaker 1: They wake up. They go. They don't sleep. They're nocturnal.
- 57:20Speaker 1: They're day-turnal. They're fucking lunch-turnal.
- 57:22Speaker 2: And it's even weird. You'll find us in places like Whistler, right?
- 57:26Speaker 2: You'll be up in Whistler and, G'day, mate. I'm your
- 57:28Speaker 2: ski instructor for the day. Like, can't we get a
- 57:31Speaker 2: fucking Canadian on this? You brought me a bloke from
- 57:34Speaker 2: the desert. You know what I mean?
- 57:36Speaker 1: Even black Australians, you hear them, you know? Like, good day, mate.
- 57:40Speaker 1: And it's like a black guy. You're like, wow, that's crazy.
- 57:42Speaker 2: When I was young, you didn't... Okay, so when I
- 57:44Speaker 2: was young, I grew up in a school that had
- 57:46Speaker 2: a lot of Asian kids in it. I think it
- 57:48Speaker 2: was 50, 60% Asian and stuff like that.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 57:50Speaker 2: And there wasn't many black people in Australia then. We
- 57:53Speaker 2: had the white Australia policy. I'm going to... Right up until,
- 57:57Speaker 2: I want to say the 1950s, it might have been later.
- 58:00Speaker 1: And what, it was whites only in Australia?
- 58:02Speaker 2: It was... You can immigrate to Australia, but it was...
- 58:07Speaker 2: For white people. And so the most dark as you
- 58:10Speaker 2: got were Italians and Greeks. And their derogatory term for
- 58:14Speaker 2: them was wog. And that was the most foreign people.
- 58:18Speaker 2: But that's what shows how bigotry can go out the window.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Because now they're the most assimilated people in Australia, Italians
- 58:24Speaker 2: and Greeks. Melbourne has the second highest Greek population of
- 58:28Speaker 2: any city in the world next to Athens. And that's
- 58:30Speaker 2: including other Greek cities. Wow.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Wow.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Right. And so, so it's awesome. Uh, 1958, there you go.
- 58:37Speaker 2: So they abolished, uh, the, yeah, the non-white immigrant. It
- 58:41Speaker 2: was called the white Australia policy, right? It wasn't, I'm
- 58:44Speaker 2: not just making.
- 58:45Speaker 1: It like beat around the bush.
- 58:46Speaker 2: They didn't have it yet. So in 1958, they, they
- 58:49Speaker 2: got rid of that. And now we have, obviously, we
- 58:52Speaker 2: have a lot of black people and stuff like that.
- 58:54Speaker 2: But when I left Australia, and I left Australia in 2001,
- 58:58Speaker 2: and then when I came back just to, you know,
- 59:01Speaker 2: by about 2010, just, you know, on a holiday or
- 59:03Speaker 2: seeing the family or whatever, So the Italians and Greeks
- 59:08Speaker 2: were all westernised Australian by then with the accent. Then
- 59:12Speaker 2: the Asians came in and then they– Oh, yeah. Now
- 59:15Speaker 2: you see Asian-Australian cricket players and they've all got the
- 59:19Speaker 2: fucking voice. You ever seen like a Chinese fella who
- 59:22Speaker 2: fucking talks like this?
- 59:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:25Speaker 2: Right. And it's like, it just, it just takes time. So,
- 59:29Speaker 2: so they were the problem. And then now, now they're like,
- 59:32Speaker 2: and these fucking blokes coming in and then, and then so,
- 59:35Speaker 2: so it just takes time and an accent to assimilate.
- 59:39Speaker 1: That's what you need. Even now you see like a
- 59:41Speaker 1: lot of like, there's a lot more black country music
- 59:43Speaker 1: fans and you see like a lot more like black
- 59:45Speaker 1: kind of redneck or like hunting type of guys, you're like, oh,
- 59:48Speaker 1: it just takes some time. And it's kind of good
- 59:51Speaker 1: because they can't use those things to separate people anymore anyway.
- 59:54Speaker 2: It took Hootie to make the first push, right? Hootie,
- 59:57Speaker 2: I don't know what Hootie's real name is, but Hootie. Darius. Darius,
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: that's right.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: But his last name was Rucker, which kind of has
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: like kind of a country tone to it. So yeah, dude,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: shout out Darius Rucker. He does not get enough credit.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Rosa Parks are country music, man. Oh. Like you think
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: about like and he left a popular band to go,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I want to do country music in Nashville, right, because
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: he could still be touring right now with the Blowfish going,
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I only want to be with you. Yeah. Right. We
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: love a little Ireland. And still be doing just fine. God, man.

- 1:03:19Speaker 2: But I always think that when you say black Australians
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: and stuff like that, so the sports that we're into,
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Australian rules football.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, AFL, man. Brisbane Lions, dude.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: AFL.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Fremantle, bro.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: When black people start playing that sport.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: It's a wrap.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: It's a wrap.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: And they're hiding it from them right now.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: It's a wrap. Because we've got like some Sudanese refugees
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: that have started playing who are excelling.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: It's a game about jumping really fucking like.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Jumping and running.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It's a wrap. Right. But I believe all sports.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Eventually a wrap.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: I think now. So when I was growing up in Australia,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: I wore a Michael Jordan jersey like every other boy
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: in the 90s.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Because.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: The best.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: The best. I never got to see him play one
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: live game. There would be wide world of sports. We'd
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: show little clips of what happened in American sports. We
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: would get the Superbowl would be shown on our TV.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: No baseball, no, no basketball.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Like a stingray kills a boy or something as well.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Would be like one of the highlights.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: But we had our rugby and we had our cricket
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: and we had our AFL and all, you know, great sports.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: But now they've got an app called KO where you
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: can watch all the NBA and all the baseball, all
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: the premier league for fucking 10 bucks or 15 bucks.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: You know what I mean? And it's like, it's cheaper
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: to watch those sports in Australia now than is now.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: I believe that, as I said, you had one NBA
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: player back in the day, Luke Longley. Now we've got
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: like maybe 15 Australian NBA players. We got, we got, uh, uh,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: we now we've got, it was a guy in the Superbowl.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: I think about four or five punters in the NFL.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, they're class.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Because they learned from AFL to kick so long, and
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: now they've just got Australian universities. We're just training punters.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: We're just like, all right, this is our thing. Look
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: at this punter right here.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Let's get a gandal at him. There's Michael Dixon right
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: there for the Seahawks, current Australian punters. Lou Headley down
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: there in New Orleans. Mitch Wischnowski. Shout out, Mitch Wish.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: So we've got six current punters. Six current, and I
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: believe there's a bloke who actually played in action. That's
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: an awesome guy.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: He looks awesome.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. And the thing is, because punters never have
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: to learn to tackle.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Look at this fucking lad right there.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Every now and again. Lou Headley, dude.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Order me a fucking Lou Headley jersey. That's him.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Every now and again, there'll be a punt.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: He'll kick your fucking balls off your back.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: There'll be a punt, and there'll be someone return, get
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: past all the defense. You know, they do that full
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: run back, the whole thing.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: And the Australian blokes always tackle them because they grew
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: up playing rugby and all that.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: And so every time, they're just like, oh, oh, there's
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: left is the punter. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Have you seen that? It's always some Australian bloke going, yeah,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I can fucking tackle. This is what we do. Yeah,
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: I'm an adult male.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: I do this without a helmet, mate. Yeah, Lou Headley, dude.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: He'll kick your freaking arms off your body. That guy, wow. Dude,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: that's class, bro. That's such a great call. It's like
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: everybody should have that Australian punter. I think I love
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: having more. I want more Mexican guys in the NBA, dude.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: And I mean real Mexican guys. Like 5'4, one guy.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Jaime, what's his name for the Heat?
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: He's the only one that I can.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: I forgot his bloody name. They're not renowned for being tall,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: the Mexicans.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: No, that's why they got the one at UCLA, Jaime Jaquez.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Jaquez. Yeah, yeah. He plays for the Heat.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Yeah, he plays for the Heat now.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: And he's class, but he's not an all-star. You know
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: what I mean? I always think with, like, also with sports,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: it just takes one person to open the door up
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: for other kids to go, oh, yeah.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: No, I'll do it.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: You know, we have Australians in the Premier League and
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: stuff like that. You know, for a very small country,
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: I'll tell you what country kicks fucking ass for its size. Iceland. Really?
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Iceland's got 270,000 people. I might be out by 10,000
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: or something. And they made it to the Soccer World Cup.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I did not realize that.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Statistically, they would only have maybe 20,000 eligible men of age.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: The right age, the right whatever. And they made it
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: to the World Cup. And they fucking got through the
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: first round. Class. They got to the round of 16.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Unbelievable. Let's bring up that Iceland team. I even want
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: to get a gander at them. I feel like it's like,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I think Christian McCaffrey's from Iceland. Dude, I just went
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: to Qatar not long ago. I know you're going to
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the Middle East coming up. I went to Qatar. And
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: this is one thing that was interesting there. was the
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: soccer stadiums from when they held the World Cup are
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: all still there because they don't really have that much
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: regular use of them. So you have these huge stadiums
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: sitting everywhere. Let's get a look at that team. That's amazing, brother.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. They don't even have a McDonald's in Iceland.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Oh, well, that's probably why they're all doing good. Everybody
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: hears us all fucking geeked out.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: Their arteries aren't clogged up.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Is that Jason Ellis on the bottom right there? Let
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: me get a gander at that pic there. Oh, these
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: lads are, dude, look how Icelandic. That dude is the
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: third dude, that fricking ice Indian.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm the ice Indian.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: That guy's fucking ready, brother.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I bet it would be cool to be Icelandic.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Have you been there?
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: No, I almost went to Reykjavik, but it was, they
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: had a, It was gay pride weekend. We were going
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: to go. And I was like.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: There's nothing. Retrovic is it.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Yeah. I just didn't want to be at there when
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: it was just everything was very kind of overly gay.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I was there when there was no.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Gay shit.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Sun. There was no moon. There was no darkness. It
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: was sunny 24 hours a day.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Is it fun?
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Span the fuck out of me. They only get that
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: for three months and the rest of it was not.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: But you're worried about the gayness.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: You're worried about- I just didn't want it to be
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: at the hotel. Every moment, it's so much gayness. I
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: guess it's probably what gay people think of when they
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: just- Yeah, they have to walk.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: Into our hotels. That's true.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: And then they go, I can't be going here with
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: all the fucking heteros.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Oh, I bet they feel that way. Like, they don't
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: want to go to Sturgis, probably, some of them, you know? Yeah,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I think that's the whole parade. It was just a few. Look,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: and also, okay, so you know, like, in Iceland. I
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: just didn't want guys, like, I'm at breakfast, and some
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: guys keep trying to buy me, like, fucking, like, those,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: what are those eggs with the little ham on it?
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: That's a cock you're talking about. No. Yeah, the eggs
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: are at the base, and then there's, like, a ham. There's, like,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: a thing. You didn't want one of them bought for you.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: I just didn't want somebody sitting over a cock, you know?
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Well, you know, okay.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Not that they would, but if someone was dressed nice
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: and people would.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: If you are to be gay, I reckon Iceland's the
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: place to do it because, you know, they have an
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: app on the phone. So the population is so small
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: that they have to have an app on the phone.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: So if you meet a girl in a bar, you
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: both put your names in the app or your license
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: into the app or whatever, and it'll tell you how
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: closely related you are because everyone's fucking related. Then we
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: got to get over there, dude. So you go over there.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: We have a shot.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: So like third cousin's all right, I guess. Second cousin,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: no good. Warning. First cousin, how good are you at
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: keeping a secret?
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: 40%, 70%.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: But that's for the heteros. If you're gay, who gives
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: a fuck if you fuck your cousin? A baby's not
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: going to be made is what I'm saying.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: But you would still.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Oh, no, you'd prefer not. Yeah. I don't want the
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: gay people kicking off on me like I'm saying they're
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: all fucking their siblings. If you can avoid it. If
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: you can avoid it, I say do.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: But if it's unavoidable and it's cold and the sun
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: hasn't been out for six fucking months, who am I
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: to judge?
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: And if you write not my cousin on the guy's
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: back or whatever.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. Exactly. You can... Like, there would be nothing
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: worse than ejaculating and rolling over going, so how's your mum?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: She still all right? Yeah.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: How's Aunt Nan? Yeah.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: How's Aunt Bjork?
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Dude, I got to go over there. You went?
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: I went. And I'm going to Saudi Arabia coming up.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: Let's talk about that. Because you just talked about guitar.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I'm going to sing in Saudi Arabia. I've been given
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: a little bit of grief online. Nothing too much.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: About going to Saudi Arabia?
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, a few people have gotten into the comics. And
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: the list is big. It's Louis C.K. Me, Bill Burr,
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: Fluffy's going, Whitney Cummings is going.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Oh, there's a big festival going? I didn't even get invited.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: It's called the Riyadh Comedy Festival. And here we go.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Andrew Shultz, Aziz Ansari, Bill Burr, Jim Jeffries, Jimmy Carr,
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Joe Coy, Kevin Hart, you know, Sam. We've got people.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Great lineup, too. Jessica Curson, Nimish Patel. Wow.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: It's as good a lineup I've seen at any comedy
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: festival ever. Now. People have been going, oh, how dare
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: you go over there after, oh, they killed a reporter.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: That was the big one. There's been a reporter who
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: they killed. You don't think our government's fucking bumped people?
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: I think Jeffrey Epstein was fucking bumped off.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure. Every place. We've damaged a lot of places.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. One reporter was killed by the government. Unfortunate,
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: but not a fucking hill that I'm going to die on.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: It's not my, you know, and I don't know the
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: ins and outs of their government. So then they get
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: into the live golf, right? All the golfers go off
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: to Saudi Arabia for a king's ransom amount of money,
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: and everyone's like, how dare they after how they treat
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: their people and all this type of stuff. Then you've
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: got Cristiano Ronaldo. Goes over and plays there. He gets
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: an extra $ 200, 000 every time he kicks a goal as
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: a bonus. $ 50, 000 for an assist.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: He has like an SPF fee, I heard. Even just
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: putting it on before the games, they pay him extra
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: to do that. That's crazy.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: So he's living there. He's engaged to his missus, but
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: they've never gotten married, right? He's the first person in
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Saudi Arabia who's allowed to live with a woman who
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: he's not married to. They've made, they've gone. An exception.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: They've gone, all right. All right. For Ronaldo, okay.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: He can do it.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: There's a lot of strong rules over there.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: So you can be angry at how they treat their people,
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: how they treat the reporter. You can be angry at
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: the golfers. You can be angry at things. But what
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: better than basically we are freedom of speech machines being
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: sent over there? They have not at one stage asked
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: to see our material. And I've been asked in some
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: countries in Asia, I've been asked for transcripts of what
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: I'm going to say.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Right? They haven't asked what we're going to do. And
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: let's be fair, they have picked some fucking edgy-ass comedians.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Some seriously edgy ones. Yeah, yeah. Some of the greats.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: They've picked some edgy comedians.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Very smart, too.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: So if you don't agree with how- Bill Burr's going
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: to be there, Schultz. If you don't agree with how
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: they run their place, isn't this a step in the
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: right direction? 100%.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Bringing free speech over. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: Isn't this a sign that they're trying to do something
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: different with themselves? Yeah. Like this would have been the
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: highest ranks of government would have gone, all right, we're
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: bringing out 30 fucking comedians who are allowed to say
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: whatever the fuck they want. Who's up for this? This
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: is a positive thing.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I agree. Well, here's the thing that I don't understand too.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: It's like to live in a country where we're fortunate
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: enough to have the freedom of speech, right? Yeah. And
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: to say things we want.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: And then to judge other places, like I get judging them,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: but their rules are there. That's what makes their culture. Right.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: And it's like, yes, we may not agree with some
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: of them. And some of them we may deem as wrong.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: And some of them may be morally wrong or religiously wrong.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: But for that country, that's what's going on right now.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Some of them I get. It's like, you know, that's wrong.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: That's fucked up. But some things, sometimes you're just attacking
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: kind of the culture of a place.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: So it's like.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: And us isolating them teaches us nothing and teaches them nothing.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Yeah. It also makes us look like this loud know-it-all
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: all the time. That's the thing I don't like, you know.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Go live there for a few years, see how it is,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: you know. I mean, of course.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Well, I'm not going to live there. Yeah. I don't
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: want to put that out there. I'm happy here.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Jim Jefferies is coming over. He's going to be staying. Yeah.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: I didn't sober up for that reason. Yeah.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: I will say this, man. When I was in Qatar,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: they had, everything was organized. There's nothing out of place.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: It's almost like there's, it's like, um, there's a ton
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: of respect everywhere. Like, I mean, that's just what you
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: see in public, right? Like, I mean, things are clean.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Like you wouldn't like, uh, people say the world.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: Cup was wonderful. I was, I was anti, I was there.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: Cause I've seen, I saw the world cup in Germany
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: in 2006. And I saw the Women's World Cup in
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: Australia when that happened. I saw the Matildas, the Australian
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: women's team play. And I thought, why should we go
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: to this little country that doesn't really have a soccer
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: history or whatever like that? But everyone reckons the fucking
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: crowds were super chill. They reckon it was piss easy
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: to get beer. They actually had beer taps out the
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: front of the stadium where you, nuh-uh. Yeah, because they
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: didn't want their people actually touching it and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: And so look at him there. Look at the mullet.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: I thought you had a dirty headdress on you. You
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: know what I mean? I thought that one bloke on
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: the left hasn't washed his cloth there.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: That's what they called a thobe over there. They treated
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: us so great. I mean, obviously we were there to
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: like do a show and stuff, but, um, but it
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: was just great to get to see the culture and
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: be a part of the culture, a ton of like respect. I,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: and you know, they don't like a lot of them
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: don't drink or they don't do it. Like it's not
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: as public here. There's not pubs and bars and shit.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I didn't notice anyway, where people are just drunk. You know,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: it's like, I don't know. It's, it's definitely different. I
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: thought it was really unique, you know? I thought it
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: was unique.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I was talking to my friend the other day about this. Okay.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: So I, you've gigged in the UK. Yep.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: How good is a pub in the UK?
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Good. It's good.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: It's like a living room.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Even in Ireland.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Ireland, even better. Is that part of the UK? Yeah. Well,
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: it's not. No. Northern Ireland is part of the UK.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: Ireland is, the Republic of Ireland is its own place.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: But.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: But they have reciprocal passports. You can live in either country. So,
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: you know, it's that part of the world, right?
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: And the pub is just so good. And I feel
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: like America is missing that. Sometimes they try to recreate
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: an English pub. But I feel like what they're missing
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: is you've got two levels of bar in America. You've
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: got fancy-ass fucking bar, like really like everything's shiny and
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: clean lines and unique and the glass back with all
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: the bottles and all that type of stuff. Almost a
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: nightclub chic.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: And you have the dive bar that is on Bar
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: Rescue where there seems to be fucking gaffer tape holding
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: everything together.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: And it just sort of smells and the carpet's sticky. Yeah,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: some woman's living in the ice machine.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you're like, can I have a
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Bloody Mary? And they're like, yeah. And then they read
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: a book.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Oh, then they just punch a woman and they just
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: bring her over. Like, here she is. That was kind
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: of a dumb joke. My brain's tired. Thank you for laughing.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Bit of fun, brother. Bit of fun. Anyway, so I
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: think America's missing that middle bar, which is nice and
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: everything's clean, but I can still walk in in a
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: T-shirt and not feel like I'm– and I don't have
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: to line up, and I don't have to know a guy.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: They need to have more homely bars.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we're missing that neighborhood bar that's more popular in
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: every place. One thing in the UK, they have all those,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: like the White Star. What's that bar they have in
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: almost every town there? I think it's called the Red... no,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: White Lion maybe.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: Which town is this?
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: The White Star Tavern is an award-winning pub, restaurant, hotel
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: in Southampton.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: Southampton.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: No, this place is everywhere.
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: They have chain ones, but you don't even know that
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: they're a chain in Britain.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: No, they don't look chain at all. And they're just
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: kind of like in every town they have them. Like
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: on high street.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: There's a chain called Wetherspoon's? Which is a company that
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: owns a ton of bars across Britain. There we go.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: J.D.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Weatherspoons.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: One of the most well-known examples of J.D. Weatherspoons is
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: simply spoons, they call it.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Well. I've performed in the corner of a few spoons
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: in me day.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Have you?
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, man. Yeah, man.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Dude, I performed in this one place in South Dakota.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: They had a parrot in the bar. It was like
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: part of a thing, right? And every now and sometimes
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: it could say some words and sometimes it would repeat
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: a bit of your. Have a punchline or something.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Oh, it actually like a.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: That's... You know, I'll bleep that out.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: That's a bit of fun.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll leave it in.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: It's your podcast, man. It's true. I didn't say it.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: You said it. If I'm in trouble for sitting next
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: to you saying it, then the world's gone too far,
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's gay.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: That's like sort of my new special, man. I want
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: to talk about it just quickly. Just.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to talk about the two-limb policy, man.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: And I'm glad that you had to set that in
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: stone because it's just amazing... The levels of people will
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: go around, you know, to try and cheat the system.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: Well, I do a meet and greet. They normally just
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: join the meet and greet.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: You do it for free, I know, too, which I
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: think is pretty amazing.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: Well, okay. So for the disabled people, it's for free.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: I do, I do a meet, I do a meet
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: and greet with a ticket with the people in the
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: front row, you know, but like 50 people and then
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: the disabled people are included in that and the disabled people,
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: God bless them. They always wait till the end of
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: the meet and greet. I'm like, you come first. Don't
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: worry about it. I know you're seated the whole time
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: and the rest of them are standing, but I always
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: get off stage. Um, I used to, I used to
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: drink before and say, and the first thing I do
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: is pop an edible because it helps me sleep. And
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: it's also my way of chilling out. I don't go
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: out to bars. I don't do anything. I'm not bloody,
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: you know, I'm happily married, man. I'm not out chasing tail.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: I'm just fucking, I just chill into my, and then
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: I do the meet and greet. And then I talk
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: to everyone a few minutes as I meet him and
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: chat to him about whatever they want to chat to
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: me about, but you know, you're too high when someone's paid.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: $ 80 to meet you, and they stop the conversation. And
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: they go, all right, Jim, it was great meeting you.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: And you're like this, oh, God, I just bored the
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: shit out of these people. And they just paid to
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: meet me, and they found me boring.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they're like, hey, Jim, what's getting lady? I've got
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: something in the oven, Jim.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: We've got a sitter.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Jim's like, wait, wait.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: I was just enjoying the show. Come back next time.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, I think it's, congratulations. How many specials do
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: you have now?
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: That's special number 10, but it's special number six on Netflix.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: I think I actually have the record for Netflix.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: I think you have the record total for anybody. I mean,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: it's 10 specials.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: Well, there's people, I think Carlin had 11 or something
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: like that. But I have, the six is the hell bounds,
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: just a thing. So yeah, one, two, three, four, five, six. Yeah, 10, yeah. Oh, no,
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: hang on, hang on. We haven't got the new one.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: No, you haven't.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Two-limb policy. Two-limb policy's got to go down there. Well,
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: Contraband was just a DVD. Swear to God was HBO.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Alcoholic Host was Showtime. Then there was Epix. And then
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: Bear Down. uh, is, uh, to two limb policy, which
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: is on there are all Netflix. And I think Chappelle
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: has like five Netflix's or something like that, but I
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: was just lucky. I was there. Okay. So there was
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: five specials came out. On the first ever Netflix, Netflix
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: didn't do specials, Netflix, and just Netflix was still more
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: of a, this is about 12, 13 years ago. And
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: they brought it, they had billboards up. Netflix is a joke.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: They started this before the festival and they were getting
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: into the comedy special market. Mm-hmm. And they selected five comedians.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: And I remember people like actually going, oh, you were
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: on HBO and now you're on Netflix. Someone's career is
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: going well. Like really.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody from, that little guy from Family Guy or whatever.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: Yeah, a little patronizing facts, right? Anyway, so the five
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: comics they had were me, Bill Burr, Chelsea Hanley, and
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: Chelsea Peretti. Wow. Right? So it's a good lineup, right?
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: Really good lineup of comics. And they were just, if
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: these specials go well, we will continue on. If they
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: don't go well, we gave it a go. That was Netflix.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: The feeling I got from them. Yeah. And the fifth comic,
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: they were going to do a press conference and everything,
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: and I was all excited. It was Bill Cosby. Now,
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: no one's ever seen that special. That special's never- Really?
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: But he did record it. He recorded one for Netflix.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: It's never been seen.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: Have you seen it?
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: No, you think Netflix give me a special password that
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: no one else gets? I still pay for my fucking
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: Netflix like everyone else, man.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: That's a good point. I freaking have a Netflix and
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: I freaking pay for Netflix too.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I got six Netflix specials and I have to
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: log in like everyone else to watch me.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: I have fucking two accounts, one here and one Nashville.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: They tell me off when I'm in an Airbnb. They go,
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: you've logged into too many devices.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Me?
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: That's one of the things I do do when I'm
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: in an Airbnb and someone else has already logged into Netflix.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: It's someone else's account that I've never met. As I
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: leave the house, I put my special on. I think,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: one more rating. Get one more. That's it right there.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: Here we go. So it's 2014.
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: Bill Cosby, 77. It's an unreleased 2014 stand-up comedy film.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: The film before a live audience at San Francisco Jazz
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: Center in California, around 60 minutes in duration. Cosby pontificating
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: on matters of children, romance, and matrimony.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I, you know, when he came out of prison,
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: the first thing he did, because I was at flappers
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: like that night, just trying stuff out. And then I
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: went to the improv like a couple of days later
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: and he rang every comedy club was the first thing.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: Cause he would have rung one of his managers and
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: they're like, Hey, we don't rep you anymore, dude. And
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: then he rang up the comedy clubs as he was
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: at a prison. His first impulse was I want to
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: do stand up.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Get back on stage.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: And there's a bit of me that wants to see that,
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: don't you? Like, as terrible a man as he is,
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: you know, but I want to hear how he fashioned
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: a shiv out of, in prison, you know what I mean?
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to hear how, like, if he was
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: still doing, I guess, if he was still doing rapes
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: in prison or whatever, too.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Ha ha!
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Or what, like, is there a group in prison if
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: you're a raper? Like a scene, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Or like a group of, you know what I'm saying? Like,
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: cause who do you, cause once you get into, things
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: get very tribal in there. So like, do you associate
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: with people that kind of have similar crimes?
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: I think everyone just, he was, he was one of
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: these people who was almost blind. He's only got like 10%,
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: he's got cataracts on his eyes. I think they just
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: left him alone. And he's probably, probably people were starstruck.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: You know, you're all, you're all criminals in there. You
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: know what I mean? Like.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Dude, a friend of mine did cocaine with OJ Simpson once.
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: And they were in New York City.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: As you do. Yeah.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: And they said that nobody had a car key on them.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: They were just doing bumps of cocaine. And OJ had
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: a knife on him that he pulled out and used
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: it to give everybody cocaine. And I know my friend's
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: not lying about this.
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: And this is obviously after the murders. This isn't like
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: the night before. Yeah.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: But just imagine that, like imagine being, because I mean,
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: he had that book, If I Did It, like imagine
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: it's being that psychotic that you're going to live right
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: there on that line of, just like grotesqueness really for people.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: It's funny because drugs are the thing, aren't they? Drugs
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: are the thing that if you do them in front
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: of people, that's a real sign of trust that I'm
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: letting you into my circle, that you're going to watch
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: me do this thing that I could get in trouble.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: You know, there was a comic I know and I
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: won't get, you know, because he doesn't want to be
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: known about this at all and his career is going
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: fine and all that sort of stuff. But he was
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: doing it, you know, and then one of his mates
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: sent out a photo of him doing it to the paper.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: And then it was just like, you know, like, fuck you, dude. Like,
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: fuck you. You know, I've, back in the day, 20
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: years ago, I've done drugs with famous people in the room.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: And I'm a blabbermouth. I'll fucking tell any story I
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: can to get laughs, but I've never slipped up on that.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: I feel that's an intensely private thing.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it would be awkward.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Except for O.J. Simpson, where of course I would fucking
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: You have to tell that.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: If it's a murderer. You can talk about the murderer.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: Who's y'all's best murderer over there from Australia, you think?
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: Well, Chopper's not bad. You know what was good about
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Chopper is they made a movie about him. The movie
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: was massive, right? He's dead now. And then as he
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: was dying, he went on 60 Minutes and talked about
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: more murders that he did otherwise. After the movie.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: No.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: Wow. He basically became a stand-up comic afterwards. After the
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: movie came out and he went and did a rack-on-tour
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: night with Chopper where he'd tell his stories. And anyway,
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: so then I stabbed the little c * * *
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: and f * * * ing, you know, he did
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: all that type of stuff. And a bloke came up
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: to him afterwards who was like some guy from a
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: gang that he had a fight. And he came up
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: with a book to the book signing. He went, G'day,
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: Chop Chop. He goes, Oh, it's been a while, mate.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: We used to be adversaries. Didn't he think he was
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: all water under the bridge? Then he killed that c
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: * * *. Really? He was already fucking. And then
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: so he's dying.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: He was off the clock at that point.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: He's dying of cancer, like a few weeks left. And
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: so he just goes on 60 Minutes and talks about
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: his other murders.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: You have to.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Fucking.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: You have to.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: And everyone could do an impersonation of him. Everyone does
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: the impersonation of Eric Banner's impersonation. Rather, you know, it's
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: two impersonations removed.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Chopper.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: But do yourself a favor, man. Watch the movie Chopper.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: It's a fucking banger of a movie. There's this one
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: scene where he shoots a guy because he's like, where's
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: the drug money? Where's the drug money? Where's the drug money?
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Where is it? Where is it? There's no money. There's
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: no money. There's no money. There's no money. Show me
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: the fucking money. I want to see the fucking money.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: I want to see the fucking money. Like that, right?
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: And then the guy's just like this. And then he
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: feels bad for him. And he drives him to the
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: fucking emergency room himself.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Right? Yeah, that's tough to do. It's hard
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: to drive when there's that energy that somebody's bleeding in
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: the car.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: Is it?
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: I find, yeah. I've had friends bleeding and you're trying
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: to get there and they're kind of pissed. You're like, look,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I'm taking you. It wasn't a gun wound, it was
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: someone cut themselves. Yeah, it was a knife wound. But yeah, still,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: I think there's that nerve, there's that scary energy. I
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: had a friend who went into labor and had to
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: get them to the hospital.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: It's like, fuck. The birth, going in for the birth,
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: that is.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: Would you do it again?
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Oh, I can't. I've had a vasectomy. You could do it.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: I could reverse the... Well, I don't reverse the vasectomies anymore.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: You know what they do? They just put a needle
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: in your testicle and they extract the semen.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: No, and just give it to your wife?
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: And then just give it to your wife. So if
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: I ever wanted to have another one, I don't know,
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: would that be like some old ass cum that's just
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: sitting around your belly? Oh, here we go. Ivan Milat.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Here we go. So he's the backpacker murder. The movie
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Wolf Creek, you've seen Wolf Creek? Oh, yeah.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: Scary dude.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: That's based on Ivan Milat. Now, Ivan Milat was this guy,
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: the British backpackers, if they broke down, he went and
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: helped them out with their trucks and then they were
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: never fucking seen again. And they don't know. Every now
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: and again, they would find a body. I think he's dead. Yeah,
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: he's dead. Every now and again, they'd find a body
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: and they'd go, They'd go, and Ivan would go, yeah,
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: that one's me as well. Fucking got me.
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: Did you ever meet any of these guys?
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: Okay. I never met any of them, but there was,
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: I have a story about, there's one called the Claremont Killer.
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: Claremont Killer was when I was in university in Perth
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: and I was getting into, I'd done stand-up when I
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: was 17. And then stopped doing it. And then when
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: I was 20, I took it back up again. I'd
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: done like four open mics. And then I thought, I'll
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: give it another go at it. Because out of the
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: three or four open mics I had, I had a
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: couple of bad experiences. And I was scared.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: So the Claremont killer, this bloke here.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Bradley Robert Edwards.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: Yeah. So a man convicted of murder. The crimes happened.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: That's when I was at university. These are the years
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: when I was at university. So the place was– now
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: Claremont was a very posh area in Perth and it
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: was a big nightlife place and all the girls allegedly
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: went to get a taxi or whatever. And so all
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: the taxi drivers were being checked for DNA and all
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: that type of stuff. You know when you're starting in comedy,
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: what do you do to get more stage time? You
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: run your own gig.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: We've all done it. You set up a gig in
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: a pub, I'll emcee.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: Invite all your friends.
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: Invite some other open micers that you've become mates with.
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: Invite all your friends. And this is how you start
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: to work up to get good at it.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: And luckily for me, all the bars in Claremont were
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: dead empty. They needed punters. So, so the bar, the
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Claremont hotel, which is like, which is one of the
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: nicest pubs in all of Western Australia could have no
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: one there on a Friday or Saturday. Because of the killer.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: It's like, I'll make sure we all drive in and
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: there's always designated drivers and that type of stuff because
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: all the rest of the girls got in cabs. Everyone
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: stayed together. All my mates from university, we used to
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: go out into the murder zone to watch me do stand-up.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: That's fucking class, dude. We had a guy. Who did
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: we have? We had the Baton Rouge serial killer when
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: I was in college over there.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Bring him up.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: And that was Lee. Harvey.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: No. Todd Lee.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: Derek Todd Lee DTL they called him oh here we
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: go DTL he was DTF too I think he was
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: a killer and rapist not a lot of.
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: Black serial killers I watch a lot of true crime.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: Yeah cause they kept saying he was white and they
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: kept like like swabbing all the honkies in our town
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: and everything and then they called him they called him
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: right there Peanut they called him too some people called
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: him Peanut did he get killed in prison where is
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: he today he probably he looks like he could work for.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: UTF you don't have the death penalty down there.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: I mean, if you hang out in New Orleans long enough,
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: you'll get shot once, but I don't know if that's
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: the death penalty. That's just like tourism.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: So you grew up in like, not in New Orleans. Yeah.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: Regular town. Covington is our town.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: I don't know if we had any. No Aussies near us.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: It's a funny thing about like- It's 47. All the
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: Australians who come out, they go, I'm coming out to LA.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: I'm going to come out to LA. And then they
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: come and visit me. And then I go, where are
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: you going? Oh, we're going to go to New York.
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: And we're going to go to Orlando. Right? That's all
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: the three places they go.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Is that the main spots? I was wondering what are
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: the main spots that Australians go in the US?
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: I've been telling people, go to fucking Nashville, man. It's
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: like as much fun. They'll go to Vegas as well,
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: of course.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: Right. And I'm like, go to Miami, go, go to
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: new Orleans. There's like these places that. Fucking awesome. There's
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: so many cities in America where you're like, this place
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: is fucking amazing. And there's also hidden gems in Australia
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: that you might not know about. A lot of people
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: might go to Brisbane instead of going to the Gold Coast,
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: and the Gold Coast has got a lot of fun
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: things to do.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: Oh, the Gold Coast was amazing, dude. We got bikes
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: and went, and you could ride them on the sand
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: on the beach, those motorized bikes, dude. Just zipping. I mean,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: the beach, it was like 70 miles long. You're just cruising.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Absolutely beautiful, you know? Dude, that was amazing.
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: That's our Miami, isn't it?
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: Yes, it was. And it was just like.
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: But a little bit more redneck-y Miami.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Yeah, a little safer though too, cleaner.
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Oh no, it's a banger. It's a banger
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: of a place. But how'd you find the sun? You
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: had to put sunscreen.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: Well, we went to New Zealand and the sun there
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: will kill you. You can't stay out very long. Some
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: of the beaches there.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: Well, the hole in the ozone layer.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: It's real.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Is over Australia and New Zealand. Is over Australia and
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: New Zealand. There's one, I believe on the North Pole
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: and the other ones down there. But. I'm an environmentalist
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: in the sense that I believe in global warming and
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: I think that we need to make adjustments. Otherwise the
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: world's fucked and the water levels are going to rise.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: And I know a lot of people don't believe that,
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: but I will say this. We got rid of the
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: CFCs from the hairspray, from the refrigeration and from the styrofoam,
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: which was the three main places where CFC and the
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: holes getting smaller. It does. If we make change. That
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: is a good example of how things can actually fix itself. Right.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Because we only found out
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: about it. Like, there's a layer. In the 80s, they
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: were like, there's a layer. Oh, yeah. And sadly, there's
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: a hole in it. And we're fucked. Fuck.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: That's the most, I mean.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: And like, can you imagine now if they brought that
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: out at news, the internet, the conspiracy theories that would
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: come out now, if you went, there's a mystical conspiracy
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: layer around us and there's a hole in it and
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: the the uv rights go through there and then they
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: nobody would believe that it's too far-fetched but it's the
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: same as like the first to just tell you about
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: germs oh there's these things you can't see that'll get
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: on you and make you sick and if you're you
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: know doing surgery or stuff you should wash your hands
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: because if those germs get into the cut infections will
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: happen what what do you mean oh you can't see them.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: Like they're ghosts?
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: That's what you would ask. They're going to be ridiculous.
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. They're microscopic. They're little tiny things and they'll jump.
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: That's fucking.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: They would have hung him. They probably killed that guy.
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: That's science fiction shit. Yeah. That's completely science fiction shit.
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: Everything's kind of like, everything's science fiction really until, you know.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: Until it becomes true, I guess. Everything's, I don't know.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: My brain is shot. Rhys Darby, you know Rhys Darby
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: from Our Flag Means Death, Fly the Concords. He's a
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: big Bigfoot guy.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Is he?
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: He loves Bigfoot.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Does Australians have their own Bigfoot?
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: We, there's probably some. Oh, we have a bunyip. Bunyip? Bunyips.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: Let me see them bunyips.
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: Yeah, bunyip. A bunyip is like, so B-U-N, bun, Y-U,
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: there we go, bunyip. There it is.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: A mythical creature from Australia, Aboriginal folklore, primarily found in
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: the southeastern regions. It's described as a large aquatic beast
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: inhabiting swamps, billabongs, creeks, and waterholes. Yeah, the bunyip.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. What Rhys always says to me, I go,
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: where's the bones? Where's the fossils? Where's the thing? And
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: he always goes, the platypus? Because the platypus was a
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: mythical thing until someone actually caught one. There was people
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: who said, I've seen it. It's the beaver with a
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: duck's head. Yeah. Right?
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. It's a trans beaver or whatever.
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: And they're so elusive and they're so at the bottom
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: of these creeks and stuff like that that no one
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: ever saw them. They were a Bigfoot of its time.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: And no shit, they look like, Like, they are totally fictional.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: If you look at that animal, I mean, that's insane looking.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: They're their own breed of animal. They are a monotreme, monotreme,
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: which means that they are a marsupial that lays eggs.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: So every other marsupial uses a pouch, and obviously the
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: animal crawls into the pouch, it digests, and it gets
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: bigger and bigger and bigger until it can stick its
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: head out of the pouch, et cetera. But this is, yeah,
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: it's a marsupial that lays eggs. It's its own fucking creature, man.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: They're beautiful. We got to get somebody to bring one in.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: I would love to see one.
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: Well, I've only ever seen them in the zoo.
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: You think they're keen to people?
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: I've never seen one in the wild. They're on one
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: of our coins. You know, we always put a different.
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: That's a great thing about Australia is we have some
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: good looking weird areas. There's the platypus and he's all
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: swimming around, 20 cents.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: That peepus right there.
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: Yeah, he gets on the money. He's popular, the platypus.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: I love him. And are they only in Australia?
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: Yes, they're only in Australia.
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: Oh, wow. See, that's a great thing. You guys have
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: like– it's just something unique over there, man. I really
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: think that– I wonder if people are excited about the
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: direction America is headed. I wonder if people are– I
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: don't know. I just get paranoid that everybody's kind of
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: freaking out right now okay are people are people freaking
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: out in australia right.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Now yes everyone's freaking out all around the world really
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: yeah the world is in in a transitional phase which
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: direction we're about to go in who knows things might
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: you know i look i i'm an anti-trump guy i
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: know you've you've met you know him Right.
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: I mean, as much as you can kind of know,
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: I mean, I'm actually, you know, I've met him a
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: couple of times, you know, and.
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: I know that a lot of people, fans of this
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: podcast are going to hate me. Right. So, but that's life.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: That's putting yourself out there. Right. Um, I, I'm at
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: the stage now with Donald Trump where I can't argue anymore.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: I've done the standup routines. I had a standup, I
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: had a TV show where I talked about it. There's
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: no more arguments for me to make about the guy
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: because I, He's not getting fucking voted in again. This
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: is it.
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: These next three years, this is it. It's here now.
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: So I'm of the opinion. Let's just fucking see how
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: it goes. You know, this whole idea that Americans are
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: always with impeach, impeach. He's been impeached. Bill Clinton was impeached.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: It's all bullshit. It means fucking nothing. It means nothing. Oh,
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: but he's a convicted criminal. It only makes him stronger.
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: What the Liberals have to stop doing is kicking up
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: and down, going, he's wrong and this is wrong, and
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: just figure out ways to beat him. Stop fucking telling
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: me how bad he is and figure out a way
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: to fucking beat him because Kamala Harris wasn't the fucking answer.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: Right? Oh, I agree.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: I agree that you got to figure, you have to, yeah,
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: it's like you have to find a solution if you're
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: just sitting there yelling about everything. It's all the, most
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: of these parties do.
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: But now there is no beating him. Now it's just
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: riding it out. Yeah. Right? Just riding it. You know, it's,
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: he said, was it on your podcast where he said
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: he would get rid of income tax? Was it here?
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: Whose podcast was it? It was on some podcast. It
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: might have been. It might have been with Schultz. It
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: might have been Schultz. He said, if the tariffs work,
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: I'll get rid of income tax. I'll tell you what.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: I have been one of those people who referred to
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: Donald Trump as Hitler, right? I will also add this.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: Not at the end. Not up. Because everyone goes, but
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: Hitler killed 6 million Jews. I'm not talking about that era.
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: I'm talking about Hitler just out of art school.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you know, I'm not- Yeah, like a
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: sophomore Hitler.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. So I tell you what, if he gets
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: rid of income tax, you'll never hear me call him
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: Hitler ever again. I'll be too busy calling him my Fuhrer.
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: If he gets rid of income tax, you'll have no
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: more complaints from me. I'll be all right. But like,
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: you know, look, I'll ask you a question. How do
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: you think things are going?
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: I think that I don't like this stuff with Gaza
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: and the Middle East. I don't understand why we have such,
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: why we give so much money to Israel. Like, you know, every,
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: a lot of the big countries are against them right now.
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: I get that thing. Netanyahu is like, is like the
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: new Hitler. It's like, or that Netanyahu is the worst.
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: So it's like, I don't understand that relationship.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: It's a tricky one, that one, because no one wants
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: to watch a genocide and what happened that they shouldn't
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: have taken hostages and no one, you know, Hamas isn't
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: fucking angels and all that stuff. But if, if you
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: can see those pictures of those starving kids and not
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: be moved, And not think that we should do something
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: about that. That's fucking, you're wrong. Yeah. You know what
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: I mean? So whatever side, and I don't want to
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: get into what side I'm on. I think it's pretty
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: obvious where I'm at. But whatever side you're on, right,
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: we're all on the side of children not fucking starving, right? Yeah.
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: We're all on that side. So let's figure that out.
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: And then diplomacy. Let's fucking talk. Yeah, now we've got
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Palestine being recognised as its own state and stuff like that.
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: Maybe that's somewhere where we can start moving forward. I
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: don't have the answer.
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: Yeah, me neither.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: But what's going on now is not the fucking right thing,
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: I'll tell you that much. And a lot of politicians
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: have to, you know, we elect these people to actually
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: make change. All right, make change, man. You know, I
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: could be turned in to a Donald Trump fan very
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: quickly and It wouldn't take much if he just, if
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: he stopped that war there really like in a succinct
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: way that was fair and just, you got all my
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: support in the world, man. I'm not just here going,
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: fuck that guy. And he's dumb fucking orange skin and
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: he's bad comb over. You know what I mean? Like
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: it's not, it's so, so you were saying you want
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: to see action.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: I just, I, you know, it's like, and then I wonder,
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: you know, it feels very much like we're headed into
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: a surveillance state. You know, these are things that I
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: just like am concerned about. But overall, I think- But.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: You were just saying how much you enjoyed Australia and
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: how Britain, all that sort of stuff. Britain's got more
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: cameras than- I agree, but- More filmed 24 hours a
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: day in the UK.
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: I think we're headed there very quickly. That's why there's
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: all this ICE stuff. That's why they're pulling everybody off
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: streets because they have to get inventory. In two years,
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: there's going to be, I believe we're going to be
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: in a surveillance state. You won't be able to, say
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: if you walked out in public and you were not here,
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: you didn't have documentation to be here and people have
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: different thoughts on all that, that's fine. I'm just saying that.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: if you didn't have documentation to be here, the cameras
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: would notice immediately. So everything has to be on the books.
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: That's where I think we're headed. And so that's why
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: I think they're doing all of that stuff, which I'm
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: not saying makes it wrong or right, but.
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: I think that's where we're headed. But we've already got that. Okay,
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: so Louisiana has that prison escape, right? You know, all
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: those prisons, they caught them all through facial recognition. Who does?
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: Louisiana?
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you remember when there was that prison where they
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: all ran off that loading dock, right?
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: One's still out, I think. Who's that?
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: Is there one still going?
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: They call him Hot Boy.
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: This is the weird thing about prison breaks. Never in
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: cinematic history have we championed the police trying to catch them.
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: That's true. Every time we got one out.
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: As of June 2025, the Louisiana inmates are no longer
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: at large.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Damn. Yeah, they're all done.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Antoine Massey and Derek Groves, the last two to be apprehended.
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: Shout out Massey and Groves.
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: But this was the thing is there was facial recognition
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: that picked up the people. And now they're like, oh, yeah,
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: we have that technology here. Right.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: They had to admit it.
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: They had to admit it because that's how they caught them.
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: And while we were using it for a thing, we
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: weren't using it again. They just sort of fluffed over
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: it like, yeah, of course. They've already got it, mate.
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: They've already got it. Have you seen I'm a support
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: the Clippers? If you go to that Inuit dome, have
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: you been to see anything there? You don't, there's just
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: facial recognition as you walk in. That's it. You've already
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: done it on the app. As you walk in, they're like, hello, Jim.
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: And you're like, wow. Yeah. It is orchestrating.
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: It's happening fast. It's here. We just, we're not, we're
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: not realizing that it's here, you know? But I'll say this.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: I just want people to be able to be, I don't,
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of like ethereal, but it's like,
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: you want people to be able to live in a
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: safe place. You want people to have jobs and have purpose. Um,
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: so those types of things, I don't understand some of
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: the bigger picture things like what happens with tariffs and
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: what their goals are and all of that kind of shit.
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: I just, it starts to really feel like, uh, that
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: neither party represents the people. And that's the part that
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: kind of concerns me the most.
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: So, well, the tariffs, I just wish they, if, if
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: you need to do them. Okay. So, okay. I haven't,
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: I haven't felt any joy from it. I haven't seen
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: my bank balance go up. I haven't seen my neighbor
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: get a job. I haven't seen factories, you know, and
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: I might be wrong, but just the eye check, I
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: haven't seen any benefit from it. All I've found is
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: there's things that I'm paying for that are costing more, right?
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: But maybe it's too soon.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: To– look, I don't– I think it could be too
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: soon to tell. I think, you know, he's a brash guy.
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: Shit is going to be brash. Is he leaning in
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: and making it more brash for no reason?
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: He needs a cleaner fucking thing that we see. We go,
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: this is how– every day you turn on the news,
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: it's like this. We're going to tariff them 35%. And
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: this country is getting 30% and fuck you, 45% for.
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: You, * * * *.
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like it really is just
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: a bloke just throwing numbers out there. If he had
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: a thing with a chart, a very clear thing that
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: said these countries are getting this and this is the
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: reason why and this is how we're going forward, I
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: might not agree with it. I may not respect it,
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: but at least I'd understand it.
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: I agree. Get a fucking chart, man. Get us a chart.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: things just seem very but I think I feel like
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: they all know something that's going on or going to
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: happen and we don't know it that's a feeling that
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: I have any.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: War could happen at any fucking stage I don't.
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: Know if it's war it could be aliens it could
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: be anything you reckon it's aliens you know I don't
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: know you.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: Reckon the aliens are waiting until now after all yeah
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: okay so you think I've seen a UFO I said,
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: you know where I saw a UFO? I saw a
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: UFO with a plane of people. I was on an
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: airplane and I saw a UFO and we all looked
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: out the window and went, oh, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: In USA?
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: In USA? In America. Wow. But we were flying over
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: Area 51. We were flying near Vegas, coming back across
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: the thing. I don't think I saw an alien. I
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: think I saw a test vehicle being flown. But it
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: was circular like a ball and it moved in. Those
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: type of emotions.
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: You're no doubt you saw it.
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: I saw it with a lot of people. I saw
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: it with a lot of people.
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: And have you all kept in touch or anything like that? No.
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: I didn't get my phone out, which I wish I did,
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: because we all went, whoa. I was over Area 51.
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: Area 51, by its own admission, is where they test
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: new aircraft. That's where they do all that shit.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: Where they test new aircraft. So I saw an unidentified
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: flying object. I don't believe there were aliens in it.
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: could it be alien technology? I don't think it's a
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: really long way. I believe there's lots of aliens out there.
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: I believe there's tons of them. I just don't think
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: if you came here and visited, you'd hover around a
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: little bit and then duck off. I think there'd be
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: more to it.
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: I think they used to come here a lot. And
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: now this is like going to like an old theme park.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: I don't think they come here as much. I think like,
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: if you have to bring your kids here for like
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: their spring break, if you're an alien, their kids are like,
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: fuck that place, you know? So I think they're probably
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: off doing cooler shit maybe, but, what do I know
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: you know you.
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: Don't want to go there it's like our planet in
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: the 70s.
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: We're like they're like Panama City Beach or something Florida
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: you know it's like used to be great but now
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: they're all going to like Vegas somewhere some other place.
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: Do you think in your lifetime we will have proof
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: of aliens.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: Yes I do in your lifetime yeah I think something
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: is looming in the distance it feels like because.
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: We have proof of UFOs they've shown the footage the
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: FBI's released footage fucking you saw one Yeah, but it's
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: unidentified flying objects. It doesn't mean– and it so happens
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: that you seem to see them more in America. That
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: makes no fucking sense.
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: The Scots see them the most.
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: Do they?
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: The Scots, yeah. They love them.
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: But they're heavy drinkers. Heavy, heavy drinkers.
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: And it's always so cloudy. You get a little bit
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: of light coming through the clouds.
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: Hey, hey. Whoa.
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: UFO. Seen it?
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: You know what I mean? That's just the sun, mate.
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: That's just a bit of ray gun, lad. Jim Jeffries, dude,
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: thanks so much for hanging out, dude. I got a
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: freaking show tonight.
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: Can I just plug what I've got going on at
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: the moment? Oh, yeah, for sure. Just very quickly, I'll
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: just get my plugs out of the way. I've got
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: Two Limb Policy on Netflix right now. Watch it. I'm
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: very proud of it. I'm happy with this special. I
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: also have a podcast called ATM with me and Amos
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: Gill that is coming out. I am in a movie
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: coming out, a Jordan Peele film called Him, which is
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: directed by Justin Tipping, produced by Jordan Peele, Marlon Wayans,
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: Tyreek Withers, Julia Fox, and it's like a proper cinematic
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: release and I'm like– doing drama shit, man. I'm like
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: acting in that. And, uh, I have a TV show
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: on Fox, which is a reality show called the snake,
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: which is a lot of fun, which is, which is
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: my 12 year old's favorite program. Favorite thing I've done.
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: So the snake is like a mix between fear factor
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: survivor and big brother. Uh, just sort of, you know,
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: but check out the snake. Yeah. The snake's all right, man.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: And you can watch it with your kids, right?
- 1:50:14Speaker 2: It's the first thing I've done that I can watch
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: with my kids.
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: That's pretty cool.
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: So, uh, We're growing up.
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: That's me for things. Last time I did a podcast
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: was probably six years ago or something like that. And
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: I'll wait until all these things are done and see
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: if I have some new stuff and come back in again.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: I'd love to anytime. I feel bad, man, today. I
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: was just really kind of tired. I think I'm kind
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: of exhausted. So it was hard for me to think
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: of some different stuff.
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: I didn't shut up, man. So I'm sorry if you
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: had some more questions.
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: No, it was a blessing, dude. And we want to
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: get that photo of Lieutenant Max Nugent. We'd love to
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: keep him here if it's okay with your brother.
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: That would be, that would be.
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: Unless that's weird.
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: Is it weird? You don't have to have him here
- 1:50:50Speaker 2: all the time. You can have him sometimes or whatever
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: or whatever. But no, anytime we can remember. That's the favorite,
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: my favorite thing I just did today was talk about
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: my nephew.
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: So.
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: Well, it was awesome to see a photo of him
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: and thank you for sharing. And thank you for your service, Mr.
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: Max Nugent. We appreciate that. Jim Jeffries, two-limb. Policy. Policy.
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: It's out now.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: Check it out.
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: I'll share it on socials in just a few minutes
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: as soon as you get out of here. Thanks so much, dude,
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: and congratulations on everything, dude.
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: Thanks, bro. You too. Now I'm just floating on the
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: breeze And I feel I'm falling like these leaves I
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: must be cornerstone Oh, but when I reach that ground
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: I'll share this peace of mind I found I can
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: feel it in my bones
