- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello and welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It is the new year in real world, in real
- 0:32Speaker 2: world stuff, it's kind of chaotic, but in uh, well,
- 0:36Speaker 2: in the Star Wars universe, in pop culture news, it's
- 0:40Speaker 2: kind of chaotic as well, as you will hear. But
- 0:44Speaker 2: we are here. We as in me Clay and of
- 0:47Speaker 2: course Katie like always, and I don't know what it
- 0:51Speaker 2: is about your camera or my screen every single time
- 0:57Speaker 2: you move your green and white stripes look red and green.
- 1:05Speaker 3: They're pink and green?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Is it pink?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Is it pink and green?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Okay, it's it's screwing with the with the colors of
- 1:14Speaker 2: my screen, like it does not like it whatsoever?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Is it blue? Is it green? Is it white? Gold?
- 1:21Speaker 2: Oh my god, no no, I don't want to live
- 1:24Speaker 2: through that ever again. So guys, yeah, it is the
- 1:29Speaker 2: new year. We have some things to talk about and
- 1:32Speaker 2: we have a little bit of planning to do after
- 1:35Speaker 2: we cut off the live stream, because like I said,
- 1:38Speaker 2: it's a new year. We are going to go strong
- 1:41Speaker 2: this year. First off, thank you guys for uh, you know,
- 1:49Speaker 2: bringing us with you in the year twenty twenty six. Yes, yes,
- 1:53Speaker 2: of course today's conversation pieces we are going to be
- 2:01Speaker 2: talking about Lynnwin Brennan.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And He who shall not be named and.
- 2:09Speaker 2: He who shall not be named, as well as Jedi
- 2:14Speaker 2: Knights Volume one, which is available at your local comic
- 2:19Speaker 2: book shop as well as on Marvel Unlimited. Yes, we
- 2:24Speaker 2: will be talking about that. We do have some other
- 2:28Speaker 2: small stories that we're going to bring up as well
- 2:31Speaker 2: as far as news that we're just gonna go really
- 2:35Speaker 2: quick on because it's not really anything there. But the
- 2:38Speaker 2: big news is this whole Kathleen Kennedy news now everywhere,
- 2:45Speaker 2: Like if you actually search for this article anywhere and everywhere,
- 2:54Speaker 2: of course you're gonna see he who should not be named,
- 2:59Speaker 2: And of course who that person is.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Nin doesn't get a mentioned in these headlines.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's so dumb. I see here the playlist dot Net
- 3:11Speaker 2: does have Lynwin in the article name, so thank you
- 3:15Speaker 2: very much. But yeah, everybody else does not mention her whatsoever.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And so we felt that it was a must to
- 3:24Speaker 2: have Lynwin in the title here. Yes, we are seeing
- 3:30Speaker 2: a replacement of Kennedy and all those people. We've had
- 3:35Speaker 2: our arguments, Katie, me and you arguing with, arguing with
- 3:41Speaker 2: the world sometimes with each other about what really is
- 3:46Speaker 2: to blame or or like, what can we really put
- 3:50Speaker 2: on Kennedy for the decisions that Lucasfilm has made right
- 3:55Speaker 2: and through some other things that happened at the very
- 3:59Speaker 2: end of last year, we've learned, Hey, not everything was
- 4:02Speaker 2: Kennedy's fault. It was Disney's fault, it was Iiger's fault,
- 4:05Speaker 2: and all these other people. So I just want people
- 4:09Speaker 2: to understand they need two people to replace Kathleen Kennedy.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah, bitches, two people, which when you that that's the
- 4:24Speaker 3: age old story about replacing people nowadays, is when somebody
- 4:29Speaker 3: wants to leave their job, you have to hire two
- 4:32Speaker 3: to four people to replace them. And not that I
- 4:36Speaker 3: necessarily think this is a bad idea, because I think
- 4:41Speaker 3: it has proven marvelous with DCU that there's a business
- 4:46Speaker 3: head and a creative.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Head, which I will gladly still to this day on
- 4:52Speaker 2: the on the GUA, I was the one that predicted.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I was the one that predicted it needs to be
- 4:58Speaker 2: James Gunn and somebody else. It's a two man job,
- 5:01Speaker 2: and they actually did it. So I'm always going to
- 5:03Speaker 2: count that as a win for me and more companies
- 5:07Speaker 2: should do this, yes, because just like I'm sure Katie
- 5:13Speaker 2: is going to emphasize, there is a creative mind and
- 5:19Speaker 2: then there is a business mind. Absolutely take it as
- 5:24Speaker 2: somebody who has just started a business. I do not
- 5:28Speaker 2: have a business mind. It's very hard. By the way,
- 5:32Speaker 2: I'm still looking for a business co founder if you
- 5:34Speaker 2: were interested getting contact with me, haha. But I have
- 5:40Speaker 2: a creative mind. I have the core idea right, and
- 5:45Speaker 2: I genuinely think that Dave Filoni has.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Ideas ideas being the key word.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Would I say core ideas well, I would not because
- 6:02Speaker 2: saying core ideas scares the crap out of me when
- 6:05Speaker 2: it comes to the entirety of Star Wars.
- 6:08Speaker 3: And there's the key and people. Now, guys, we're talking
- 6:12Speaker 3: about this. This is being reported by trades, this is
- 6:15Speaker 3: being reported by Scoopers. Star Wars dot Com has not
- 6:18Speaker 3: conferred to anything correct as yet, still rumor, but a
- 6:22Speaker 3: lot of people had predicted Dave Filoni and carried back.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Now they're saying Lynn went Brennan and Dave Floney. A
- 6:29Speaker 3: lot of people on threads and other social media platforms
- 6:34Speaker 3: have been like, well, guys, you guys, forget that Dave
- 6:37Speaker 3: Felony was the key mind behind Clone Wars and Rebels
- 6:41Speaker 3: and the Yes, you can say he was there, but
- 6:47Speaker 3: he also had George Lucas with Clone Wars, he had
- 6:51Speaker 3: other very smart people with Rebels m M. Dave Faloney
- 6:56Speaker 3: on his own has not proven him self and you
- 7:02Speaker 3: can say Ahsoka was a good stepping point. It is. Yes,
- 7:06Speaker 3: Dave Filoni as a creative mindset made some changes with
- 7:11Speaker 3: Acolyte and other things where we're like, did you really
- 7:15Speaker 3: need to make that creative decisions with Mandalorian book a
- 7:20Speaker 3: Bubba fet? Why are we doing these things? The title
- 7:25Speaker 3: defeats the purpose of having six and seven episodes be
- 7:30Speaker 3: about Mandalorian instead of book Bubba Fet. There's just some creative.
- 7:34Speaker 3: He means an editor, and he has not proven to
- 7:38Speaker 3: himself that he is willing to listen. He has not
- 7:41Speaker 3: proven to me and Clay and I feel confident saying
- 7:45Speaker 3: that yes can go without an editor. And Favreau has
- 7:51Speaker 3: not proven to be that editor I thought he would be.
- 7:55Speaker 3: He has not.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yep, Nope, not at all. But I will say this
- 8:03Speaker 2: with the hope is now. I will say this with
- 8:12Speaker 2: Lynnwin Brennan at his side. There is no history as
- 8:19Speaker 2: far as I know that has Dave Filone and Lynnwin
- 8:27Speaker 2: being big buddy buddy prior to their lucasfilm days. There's
- 8:36Speaker 2: nothing that shows that we have no history, at least
- 8:40Speaker 2: I don't. This is like, these are two entities that
- 8:45Speaker 2: I just thought were separate individuals, right, the beautiful thing
- 8:50Speaker 2: about the DCU with James Gunn and oh God, oh god,
- 9:03Speaker 2: uh m hmm, Peter, Peter, Yes, Saffron, but Saffron. Between
- 9:14Speaker 2: between between gun and Saffron, we know that there is
- 9:20Speaker 2: years years of partnership. So they are symbiotic. They know
- 9:28Speaker 2: each other, they know how to conduct business together. Worst
- 9:37Speaker 2: case scenario, which would actually be pretty bad, is that
- 9:45Speaker 2: Linn Win and Felony don't see eye to eye, and
- 9:58Speaker 2: that I I could see be a bigger problem because
- 10:04Speaker 2: then who plays mediator? You know?
- 10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's the big factor, especially when it comes
- 10:13Speaker 3: to running a business, because you have to imagine that
- 10:17Speaker 3: lynn Wynn would end up being the go between between
- 10:22Speaker 3: Iigert and Folony and going like this is for the
- 10:25Speaker 3: benefit of Disney and business decisions and all that good stuff. Yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 3: you have to imagine that's the plan. Yeah, so Felony
- 10:34Speaker 3: doesn't have to interact there I'm sure he would, but
- 10:37Speaker 3: he doesn't have to.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Ye.
- 10:41Speaker 3: So the idea of a mediator between Linn Wynn and Folony,
- 10:47Speaker 3: that would be the question.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yeah, And maybe that's where somebody like Vikey comes in
- 10:53Speaker 4: as like a hey, I've balanced two birds of this,
- 10:56Speaker 4: and so Disney might send him in and be like,
- 10:58Speaker 4: do it fixed this?
- 10:59Speaker 3: Like they're disagreeing.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I hope so, like truly, I hope Filoni and Brennan
- 11:07Speaker 2: all the best, and I hope this works out if
- 11:11Speaker 2: it is true. Again, nothing official. We probably won't hear
- 11:15Speaker 2: anything about this until Kathleen walks out of those doors.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I would imagine, yeah, we would. Honestly, I don't
- 11:27Speaker 3: think be hearing from it about it officially until like
- 11:32Speaker 3: a month before it's time. Yeah, basically because then it's like,
- 11:36Speaker 3: uh oh yeah, now we get to have fond memories
- 11:40Speaker 3: and then all the grifters on social media will be like, wow,
- 11:43Speaker 3: we miss Kathleen Kennedy, like where we're her business decisions
- 11:47Speaker 3: like m.
- 11:49Speaker 2: And guys, we've talked a lot about, you know, how
- 11:54Speaker 2: we are unsure about this and everything else, but we
- 11:56Speaker 2: haven't actually talked about who Brennan is. So Lennwin Brennan
- 12:03Speaker 2: is the president and General Manager of Lucasfilm Business currently.
- 12:09Speaker 2: She was raised in Wales. She has worked on many
- 12:13Speaker 2: of different things as far as like software development and
- 12:17Speaker 2: everything else, but when it comes to Lucasfilm Star Wars specifically,
- 12:23Speaker 2: she was the general manager and EVP at Lucasfilm during
- 12:31Speaker 2: the titles of Lego Star Wars Summer Vacation and Star
- 12:37Speaker 2: Wars Tales of the Empire, Like, she was involved in
- 12:41Speaker 2: those two products.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and she's listed as in several movie credits as
- 12:50Speaker 3: the executive vice president of Industrial l like Magic which
- 12:55Speaker 3: is for light music, and as the general manager. She's
- 13:01Speaker 3: been executive staff, so she's credited on stuff like iron
- 13:04Speaker 3: Man for instance, in Avatar senior staff, executive staff, et cetera.
- 13:10Speaker 3: So the girl has credits.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and we're.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Definitely it's definitely smart. Like that is the one thing
- 13:18Speaker 3: I can say about this is I'm super happy that
- 13:20Speaker 3: they are bringing in two people versus one. And that
- 13:22Speaker 3: was the biggest thing that we talked about. Kevin Davis
- 13:27Speaker 3: up this billion times.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Kevin Davis does put up the point. He says the
- 13:32Speaker 2: quiet part out loud. My only concern with Dave Filoni
- 13:35Speaker 2: is he isn't going to green light projects like Rogue
- 13:37Speaker 2: one and or and he's gonna play it safe.
- 13:40Speaker 3: We talked about that with like Acolyte, because he was
- 13:43Speaker 3: very hesitant. With Acolyte, is like, the whole purpose of
- 13:49Speaker 3: having a fantastical timeline where you can go twenty five
- 13:54Speaker 3: thousand years in the past to one hundred and fifty
- 13:57Speaker 3: years in the future kind of thing. You can go
- 13:59Speaker 3: any where, and you don't need to play it safe
- 14:02Speaker 3: by sticking with one area of the timeline and flushing
- 14:05Speaker 3: all that out.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Yeah. And you know one thing that we keep beating
- 14:09Speaker 2: the dead horse on on Star Wars Alliance here is
- 14:12Speaker 2: the fact that with an entire Star Wars universe, we
- 14:19Speaker 2: need genres. We need genre films within Star Wars. It
- 14:25Speaker 2: cannot just be this space opera about this one family
- 14:30Speaker 2: and the timeline within that family we need.
- 14:34Speaker 3: And that's where separately, and that's where the rumors of
- 14:38Speaker 3: the horror show coming into play. Like that's exciting. Am
- 14:42Speaker 3: I a horror person? No, But it's exciting to see
- 14:46Speaker 3: lucasfilm choose to go that direction. Yes, because those are
- 14:51Speaker 3: the things Having a genre film in a universe isn't
- 14:56Speaker 3: a bad thing. And I know that you can say
- 15:00Speaker 3: that with like the Buddy Cop system, with like MCU.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Was that a good move with Captain Marvel. I'm going
- 15:08Speaker 3: through my MCU rewatch right now, guys. That's a lot
- 15:10Speaker 3: of my framework reference. But like stuff like that, it
- 15:15Speaker 3: was a hit. I think it's just a matter of
- 15:18Speaker 3: making sure that you're marketing it correctly and going, hey,
- 15:22Speaker 3: have you been looking for a horror stog wars? Then
- 15:24Speaker 3: this is for you. Like bring in new people. That's
- 15:29Speaker 3: the whole point to these things, and so I would
- 15:33Speaker 3: hope that these linn Win is gonna go No, we
- 15:36Speaker 3: don't need to regulate ourselves to just this area of
- 15:39Speaker 3: the timeline. We saw a bunch of posts about how
- 15:45Speaker 3: what's his name? Uh? The the logan director James Something
- 15:51Speaker 3: and his movie Dawn of the Jedi was announced. Yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 3: it was an announced a thousand days ago and we've
- 16:01Speaker 3: heard nothing since. Basically, like stuff like that needs to
- 16:06Speaker 3: be greenlit because those are exciting and I don't know
- 16:10Speaker 3: if Filoney has the balls to do it. I hope
- 16:13Speaker 3: Lynnwin has the balls to tell them otherwise.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yes, you know, one it is like until we actually
- 16:24Speaker 2: see what starfighter is the Starfighter can be this weird
- 16:29Speaker 2: amalgam of being both a genre film as well as
- 16:34Speaker 2: like that sweet timeline story that everybody's yearning for without
- 16:40Speaker 2: the episodic movies that right now, right, it could be
- 16:44Speaker 2: both right now, But I think it excites more people
- 16:51Speaker 2: if like when we heard that there was going to
- 16:53Speaker 2: be a romance novel within Star Wars, we were cheering.
- 16:59Speaker 2: So it gets exciting. And I told you the day
- 17:02Speaker 2: that that was announced. We need a complete romance movie.
- 17:09Speaker 2: We need a like whether it be a rom com
- 17:13Speaker 2: or a actual like romantic films in Star Wars with
- 17:23Speaker 2: completely random characters like characters, but.
- 17:27Speaker 3: I would, I would, I would put you one better.
- 17:32Speaker 3: And if FILOADI wants to stay true to the Skywalker
- 17:35Speaker 3: stagger and that's all he wants to play with, make
- 17:37Speaker 3: the damn rom com about Anna Kid and Pad cast
- 17:41Speaker 3: new people. Yeah, and make a rom com with him
- 17:45Speaker 3: like just falling in love over the two weeks that
- 17:48Speaker 3: he's protecting her but in Attack of the Clones. I
- 17:52Speaker 3: would sell go buy tickets for that.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Which does bring up my other points you brought up casting.
- 18:02Speaker 2: If they want to go genres, they need to learn
- 18:07Speaker 2: how to adapt novels into movies into the timeline. Give
- 18:15Speaker 2: these writers the true recognition that they need, that they
- 18:20Speaker 2: deserve for writing amazing stories within this universe. Because we
- 18:27Speaker 2: heard what almost six years ago now about the one
- 18:32Speaker 2: adaptation Lost Stars? Uh, Lost Stars? And where is it?
- 18:41Speaker 3: Not?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Nothing from it? We need adaptations. You guys are so
- 18:49Speaker 2: worried about not Yeah, you guys are so worried about
- 18:53Speaker 2: not having your badass Luke Skywalker on screen. Hey, you
- 18:59Speaker 2: need to recast a you know, healthy, great actor for
- 19:07Speaker 2: Luke Skywalker. Because again, Mark Hamill was interviewed again in
- 19:11Speaker 2: the last two weeks saying, Hey, I'm done. I'm a fan.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Now I get to enjoy it from this side.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Which he should. Yes, the man rest.
- 19:22Speaker 2: He's like seventy years old. Let him just relax. I
- 19:27Speaker 2: I that's a little overboard. I don't think he's seventy yet,
- 19:31Speaker 2: but like I.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Think he's past that.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Is he really? Yeah, there's no way, there's no way.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I would say.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Sixties, nineteen fifty one, seventy.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Four, Holy Mother of God. Okay.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Uh.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Kevin comes at us again with box office matters to Disney.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Even Starfighter having good reviews and audience support, still bomb
- 19:56Speaker 2: at the box office. They're going to focus on sequels
- 19:59Speaker 2: and remakes just to make sure yeah it's a it's
- 20:03Speaker 2: just like trust me. I think that more than anybody
- 20:08Speaker 2: right now, studios are still hesitant after COVID with anything
- 20:16Speaker 2: they throw into the theater yep, because it could be
- 20:21Speaker 2: anything that, you know, just bombs. Honestly, I was not
- 20:27Speaker 2: expecting Zootopia to be nearing the top gross animated movie
- 20:33Speaker 2: of all time, and then here we.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Are, because people just want to like shit on animated productions.
- 20:41Speaker 3: And that's the other thing that Filorni needs to go for. Hey,
- 20:44Speaker 3: do an animated flick? Animated flicks have proven to be
- 20:49Speaker 3: less costly for a budget, and like you still make
- 20:55Speaker 3: bookoos of money at the box office?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Do it? Yeah? Yeah, no, no, no. I I think that
- 21:03Speaker 2: it is important that as now co presidents to Lucasfilm
- 21:12Speaker 2: m they need to truly sit down and discuss what
- 21:20Speaker 2: have we not done?
- 21:22Speaker 3: Yep? What have we not done? What can we do better?
- 21:26Speaker 2: And go from there. So I think that is enough
- 21:32Speaker 2: on that story we mentioned, of course, the uh, the
- 21:38Speaker 2: horror the game is.
- 21:39Speaker 3: In the chat, A game over six hundred million in China,
- 21:45Speaker 3: almost eclipsing end Game is insane. People just want to
- 21:48Speaker 3: have fun. People don't want to sob at the theaters.
- 21:50Speaker 3: People just want to have a good time.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly, genuinely, I think with the success of not
- 21:58Speaker 2: only the law long years of Clone Wars, but the
- 22:02Speaker 2: continued success of Visions opens the door wide open for
- 22:09Speaker 2: Lucasfilm to make a Star Wars animated movie for theatrical release.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Really, and like, y'all, I'm in the middle of endgame
- 22:18Speaker 3: right now, like literally, I'm this says, I'm two hours
- 22:23Speaker 3: into it, and like I've stopped twice, like I don't
- 22:29Speaker 3: want to go to a theater anymore and stop, Like
- 22:31Speaker 3: that's just not the zone I'm in after the pandemic, yep.
- 22:38Speaker 2: And this is something, this is something that I also
- 22:43Speaker 2: really need forloney and and Brennan to really sit down
- 22:51Speaker 2: and say, hey, what are we going to do about this?
- 22:55Speaker 3: What are we going to do to protect our diverse crew.
- 23:00Speaker 2: They need to draw a line in the sand and say, hey,
- 23:04Speaker 2: this is what we're doing, and this is the way
- 23:09Speaker 2: that we're going to succeed through films, TV animation, because
- 23:16Speaker 2: without them, there's nothing, Guys, it gets boring. And I'm sorry,
- 23:23Speaker 2: it's just it's not good when when we just follow
- 23:28Speaker 2: all the grifters, and like I saw this crazy post
- 23:33Speaker 2: the other day, the freaking what's uh the others YouTuber
- 23:41Speaker 2: that we don't really talk about uh theory? I think, Uh,
- 23:47Speaker 2: we don't say.
- 23:47Speaker 3: His name on this channel, we don't give him credits
- 23:51Speaker 3: either way.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I saw somebody said, oh man, give give this guy
- 23:56Speaker 2: a job at Star Wars, and it was all AI
- 23:58Speaker 2: stuff in his is freaking thumbnails. Like, no, that's also
- 24:04Speaker 2: not the way to go. So like that's what we
- 24:08Speaker 2: get when we when we follow grifters, is we get
- 24:10Speaker 2: AI slop. We don't get any creativity, and it's just
- 24:15Speaker 2: going to go downhill from there.
- 24:18Speaker 3: So I would rather see if they're gonna pull out
- 24:21Speaker 3: AI stuff, that's the day I stop with. I might
- 24:28Speaker 3: stick with the books, but I don't think I would
- 24:30Speaker 3: ever touch I'm not touching a single film or television
- 24:36Speaker 3: thing that has AI attached to it. I trust the
- 24:40Speaker 3: authors enough to know the people writing are not going
- 24:44Speaker 3: to use AI, and I know that the publishers that
- 24:47Speaker 3: we currently have aren't going to use AI.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Did you see uh Google sheets? Like I saw a
- 24:54Speaker 2: screenshot of Google sheets the other day. Oh yeah, And
- 24:58Speaker 2: somebody was like, oh, so this is why our publishers
- 25:01Speaker 2: don't want us to use Google anymore. Yeah, and it had.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Like you've written eight hundred and ninety seven words until
- 25:08Speaker 3: we can have an AI, right just like you.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I was like, what.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I was seriously about to like just take all of
- 25:17Speaker 3: our stuff off of Google, Like I'm seriously debating it,
- 25:21Speaker 3: and we're just gonna have to maintain it some other
- 25:22Speaker 3: way because I'm not putting.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Up with that, like we may have to jump into
- 25:26Speaker 2: drop box or something. But holy crazy, Yeah, it was wild. Yeah,
- 25:32Speaker 2: but that is basically it. I know we've gotten a
- 25:36Speaker 2: little heated on this conversation, but uh but and again
- 25:41Speaker 2: Katie mentioned the fact that the horror film is still
- 25:45Speaker 2: in talks. Nothing hardcore just I think it was Daniel
- 25:50Speaker 2: RpK that just reaffirmed, hey, this is still being talked about. Yep.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So the next small bit of news before we talk
- 25:59Speaker 2: about gaming, which is also very tiny, we had Sean
- 26:05Speaker 2: Levy give a comparison to what Starfighter is, and of course,
- 26:11Speaker 2: just with all the hype of Stranger Things season series finale,
- 26:16Speaker 2: he says this, if I've learned anything about Stranger Things,
- 26:20Speaker 2: it's that you can get intimidated by a scale of
- 26:24Speaker 2: franchise expectations, but you will lose your way if that's
- 26:29Speaker 2: your focus. I've learned the need to stay rooted in character,
- 26:33Speaker 2: in themes and relationships on screen. Yes, there's a spectacle
- 26:37Speaker 2: in scale, just like Stranger Things, and of course Star
- 26:41Speaker 2: Wars and Starfighter has spectacle and scale an adventure at
- 26:46Speaker 2: a level I've never done in my whole career, but
- 26:51Speaker 2: like Stranger Things, it's also very much anchored in a
- 26:55Speaker 2: human scale, character sized story. I think if I can
- 27:01Speaker 2: balance the epic and the intimate the way that excuse
- 27:05Speaker 2: me the Duffers have with Stranger Things, I'll make a
- 27:10Speaker 2: movie and an original and new Star Wars adventure that
- 27:14Speaker 2: can be really satisfying to fans and audiences. Katie, what
- 27:19Speaker 2: do you.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Think I dig it? I have. We've talked about it
- 27:31Speaker 3: a bunch, so I don't want to harp on it
- 27:33Speaker 3: too much, But I feel like Levy is my type
- 27:36Speaker 3: of creator. I feel like his stuff is just my jam. Again,
- 27:39Speaker 3: I just want to go have fun watching something I
- 27:43Speaker 3: don't like. Don't get me wrong, emotions still matter, but
- 27:49Speaker 3: with the day and age that we're in, I need
- 27:50Speaker 3: something to laugh about and so I need something that
- 27:53Speaker 3: has a lot of heart to it in that regard,
- 27:55Speaker 3: and I feel like Levey does that. So I'm down
- 27:57Speaker 3: for this vibe. I'm really down.
- 27:59Speaker 2: One thing that we have both said since Levy was
- 28:03Speaker 2: announced for this film, before you even knew the name
- 28:05Speaker 2: of it, we said, Hey, if he can mimic the
- 28:09Speaker 2: Adam project in the Star Wars universe, let's go.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Which it sounds like that's the vibe they're going for. Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 3: I'm there opening. I'm there opening weekend for men learning
- 28:23Speaker 3: grogu I'm definitely there opening weekend. First.
- 28:30Speaker 2: So the last bit of news that I have on
- 28:34Speaker 2: my phone is we got a tiny update for Star
- 28:41Speaker 2: Wars Galactic Racer. Literally just one word made me go
- 28:49Speaker 2: crazy sharing this everywhere from the actual Twitter account saying
- 28:55Speaker 2: select your speeder, customize your build master, or your strategy.
- 29:01Speaker 2: When I see the word customize, it got me so excited.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Now it does say select your speeder, So I think
- 29:14Speaker 2: this still needs to be like.
- 29:18Speaker 3: That.
- 29:18Speaker 2: They need to give us more here in the sense
- 29:21Speaker 2: of what does that mean pick your speeder?
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 29:25Speaker 2: Am I choosing from a select few and then I
- 29:30Speaker 2: build from the ground up? Or am I creating a character,
- 29:37Speaker 2: choosing what type of speeder I want to try and build,
- 29:42Speaker 2: then build that. You know, there's different ways this can
- 29:46Speaker 2: really be interpreted. I need a little bit more information,
- 29:52Speaker 2: and like I said, I need a career mode. I
- 29:56Speaker 2: need a story mode that show that I'm going from
- 30:02Speaker 2: you know, rags to riches, rags to riches exactly. I
- 30:06Speaker 2: need to be making you know, really crummy bets with
- 30:12Speaker 2: like the the people of Tattooede and then going all
- 30:16Speaker 2: the way up and making bets at Canto Bite. You know,
- 30:20Speaker 2: Like I need to know how far we're gonna go
- 30:23Speaker 2: with this. But I think it's still gonna be a
- 30:27Speaker 2: lot of fun. I'm super excited about it. I'm I'm like,
- 30:31Speaker 2: I literally just put the notifications on for Galactic Racer.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Anytime they tweet, I'll know about it. So we'll give
- 30:39Speaker 2: you guys updates whenever there are some.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Yeah, because like I said, guys, that might be one
- 30:44Speaker 3: that I pick up just because I do enjoy racer games.
- 30:47Speaker 3: It just it all kind of depends on how things look.
- 30:53Speaker 3: So and maybe if I can convince Matt to let
- 30:57Speaker 3: me use his Xbox. I'm not an Xbox curly. I've
- 31:00Speaker 3: always been a PlayStation, but I don't see the point
- 31:03Speaker 3: in buying a PlayStation for one game. So because I
- 31:07Speaker 3: only have a PlayStation four.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Katie, Brent bought a PS five just for Spider Man.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Yes, but Brent plays more video games than I do.
- 31:19Speaker 2: I don't think he does. That's the thing. He he
- 31:24Speaker 2: just loves his flavor of Marvel and he was like, yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 2: I'm buying this all right, guys. Well that is the
- 31:35Speaker 2: entirety of the news. And now we are moving on
- 31:40Speaker 2: to our review of Jedi Knights Volume one, which does
- 31:46Speaker 2: include issues one through five and the free comic book Day.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Comic I thought it.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Was I thought it was the Okay, it does say
- 32:02Speaker 3: free Comic book Day. I thought it was the stuff. Now, oh,
- 32:08Speaker 3: All in the Game just asked.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Us a question, Oh, any thoughts on the three officially
- 32:15Speaker 2: released doomsday teasers so far? That's a that's a Marvel
- 32:21Speaker 2: Alliance question. Come on, all in the Game. I will
- 32:24Speaker 2: say this. I will say this. I like the thor
- 32:28Speaker 2: and I like the X Men one. I like those
- 32:31Speaker 2: so far. James Marsden is getting his his his just desserts. Yes,
- 32:39Speaker 2: with finally getting the best costume known to X Men
- 32:45Speaker 2: and uh, and yeah. I was never a fan of
- 32:49Speaker 2: funny thor funny enough. Katie literally texted me just the
- 32:54Speaker 2: other day about Ragnarok, knowing that I don't like it, so.
- 33:01Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, how could anybody hate this? I remember
- 33:05Speaker 3: being in the theater with my mom because my mom
- 33:08Speaker 3: was the only one who was willing to go see
- 33:10Speaker 3: it with me, and that at that point I still
- 33:12Speaker 3: had to take somebody with me to the theater because
- 33:13Speaker 3: I didn't have a card at that point. And she
- 33:17Speaker 3: even loved it, like that's the only MCU film that
- 33:21Speaker 3: she will be like, oh, you want to watch MCU,
- 33:23Speaker 3: Like we could watch Ragnarok, Like, so it just it.
- 33:28Speaker 2: It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, such
- 33:31Speaker 2: a bad taste in my mouth.
- 33:34Speaker 3: For me, I just wish we'd let these people rest
- 33:37Speaker 3: and die already, like they didn't need to come back.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I'm not that type of girl.
- 33:43Speaker 2: The fact, I love the meme that everybody's like, oh man,
- 33:47Speaker 2: I cannot wait to see Professor X die for a
- 33:49Speaker 2: fourth time.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Yes, what the fuck dude, And people are like, well,
- 33:56Speaker 3: he's finally gonna retire after this, like this is gonna
- 33:59Speaker 3: be his last movie ever? Did you know that, are
- 34:01Speaker 3: you sure?
- 34:03Speaker 2: Well? It also die for fifth time? Just I mean
- 34:07Speaker 2: also Ian McKellen, like with the fact that he is
- 34:12Speaker 2: getting much older. Last year he had an accident on
- 34:16Speaker 2: stage for theater, Like the guy did not need to
- 34:21Speaker 2: be coming back, Like, I'm sorry, you didn't have to
- 34:24Speaker 2: force him into this movie, guys. But yeah, I'm I'm
- 34:29Speaker 2: still excited. That's the entire reason why I'm doing a rewatch.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Correct, Yes, I'm still excited as well.
- 34:35Speaker 2: But my question to you is my question to you,
- 34:38Speaker 2: you're doing a full rewatch. Are you doing the shows?
- 34:41Speaker 2: Are you watching the shows?
- 34:43Speaker 3: I will probably just because I'm just kind of having
- 34:46Speaker 3: them on in the background as I work. Yeah, so
- 34:49Speaker 3: I will probably do this, especially because it's January and
- 34:53Speaker 3: this movie doesn't come outuntil December. Like, yeah, So, I
- 34:59Speaker 3: think Matt and I have agreed because there's a couple
- 35:01Speaker 3: of things that we had, particularly the Blade movies. I
- 35:05Speaker 3: think the Blade and the old Fantastic Four movies we
- 35:10Speaker 3: will probably watch together on the side, But then everything else,
- 35:15Speaker 3: I think we're gonna be on our end because we
- 35:17Speaker 3: just did an X Men rewatch for Deadpool and Wolverine,
- 35:20Speaker 3: so I don't feel like I need to go back
- 35:22Speaker 3: and watch the X Men movies.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I don't think you do either. I think it's pretty
- 35:26Speaker 2: fresh if you watched it just for Deadpool, I will say,
- 35:33Speaker 2: I want to know your opinion on Fantastic four Rise
- 35:39Speaker 2: of the Silver Surfer because there was so many people surfer, Oh,
- 35:46Speaker 2: you've already you've already seen it, Okay, Okay, I was
- 35:50Speaker 2: just wondering if you've ever seen it before. So there's
- 35:52Speaker 2: so many people that think that Rise of the Silver
- 35:56Speaker 2: Surfer was like almost the end of all superhero movies,
- 36:00Speaker 2: Like it was like the downfall of Superhero.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Now, Okay, I say that it's it's been several years,
- 36:06Speaker 3: but I remember loving it and being like, dude, I'm
- 36:09Speaker 3: ready for more.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Dune three started.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Filming doing three. They're definitely moving doing three.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Like for the for the fact that, like this
- 36:21Speaker 2: is quite possibly the most anticipated Marvel movie ever since Endgame. Sorry,
- 36:29Speaker 2: it just is like I loved Fantastic Four, absolutely loved it.
- 36:35Speaker 2: But Doomsday, like it's going to be a monster. Like
- 36:40Speaker 2: we talk about so many movies breaking records since Endgame.
- 36:46Speaker 2: This is gonna be stupid. I really do feel like it.
- 36:49Speaker 3: I I don't have a nice word to say about
- 36:54Speaker 3: why they're doing it this way and why it's going
- 36:56Speaker 3: to be a hit. Not that it's a bad thing. Okay,
- 36:59Speaker 3: I'm not the Let's bring everybody back so we can
- 37:02Speaker 3: hit the nostalgia five again. We talked about it with
- 37:05Speaker 3: Force Awakens.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, don't don't get me wrong. I know
- 37:10Speaker 2: that this is the wrong way to go about it, Like,
- 37:16Speaker 2: especially when they're like, oh yeah, Doomsday is a direct
- 37:18Speaker 2: sequel to Endgame. It's like, oh so the last like
- 37:23Speaker 2: six years literally meant nothing for.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Like literally nothing.
- 37:29Speaker 2: So it's it's it's it's gonna be harsh, it really is.
- 37:34Speaker 2: But let's go ahead. Let's move on to Star Wars
- 37:42Speaker 2: Jedi Knights Volume one. Uh and Katie, Now that's my
- 37:47Speaker 2: turn to get depressed. I'm just gonna say it. Did
- 37:52Speaker 2: we really need this like at all?
- 37:56Speaker 3: As like taking the words right out of my mouth
- 38:00Speaker 3: to give credit first before before we move into discussion.
- 38:06Speaker 3: So our writer here is Mark Guggenheim. Our artist, which
- 38:10Speaker 3: I did very much enjoy their artwork, it is Matty
- 38:14Speaker 3: beck Musa Bekov. The color artist is Luis Guerrero. Loved
- 38:20Speaker 3: the work as well. The art fantastic in that yes,
- 38:24Speaker 3: the letter is VC's Clayton Cowell's. The cover artist for
- 38:28Speaker 3: one through five is Rasa and Phil Noto for Free
- 38:33Speaker 3: Comic Book Day. The assistant editors Drew bomb Gartner and
- 38:36Speaker 3: Mikey J. Basso, and the editors are Mark Panacea and
- 38:42Speaker 3: Or I'm sorry with Danny Kasm. I love the art
- 38:46Speaker 3: in this. We talked about this with the Han solo
- 38:50Speaker 3: comic that Guggenheim did. I didn't like that one. I
- 38:57Speaker 3: don't like the writing in this either.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It for one, I will say, I think so. So
- 39:10Speaker 2: this has technically six issues. For one, they don't have
- 39:14Speaker 2: the Free Comic Book Day issue on Marvel in the mode.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Oh that's so.
- 39:18Speaker 2: That's so, that's a problem. I didn't get to read it.
- 39:22Speaker 2: But there's like, there's not much to it. If there's
- 39:25Speaker 2: not much to it, then there's almost three whole issues
- 39:30Speaker 2: that literally did nothing for the whole like book.
- 39:34Speaker 3: And that's the This is this is where when this
- 39:39Speaker 3: was announced initially, I felt like it was very like
- 39:44Speaker 3: what the heck? Because this was announced to be basically
- 39:47Speaker 3: an anthology of all of these different Jedi Knight stories
- 39:52Speaker 3: that were going to tie into the prime character in
- 39:56Speaker 3: this Who's like the overarching villain mm hmm, but basically
- 40:01Speaker 3: bringing in a lot of new characters exploring the pre
- 40:06Speaker 3: prequel era of Star Wars Anthology staff like, there's a
- 40:11Speaker 3: whole keeleron Beck story in volume two. I think that's
- 40:19Speaker 3: the problem, though, is that this is supposed to be
- 40:21Speaker 3: in anthology and we're following all these different characters, but
- 40:24Speaker 3: yet you're telling me that this is all for one
- 40:27Speaker 3: over our consorty.
- 40:32Speaker 2: The issue. The only real thing that I that has
- 40:36Speaker 2: gotten my attention in this story is Qui gon Jin's.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Story, which is what the free comic book day of
- 40:43Speaker 3: the issue was about.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Oh really yeah, okay.
- 40:50Speaker 3: He goes to Narshada and tries to investigate the Assassin.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Basically okay, so like this whole Assassin story, that's the
- 41:03Speaker 2: only thing that has peaked my interest. Like, yeah, in
- 41:05Speaker 2: I believe issue three, they go to an unlike marked planet.
- 41:14Speaker 2: They meet giant creatures named uh kaijuw something, and I'm like, okay,
- 41:21Speaker 2: that's a little on the nose. Could you not think
- 41:24Speaker 2: of something else? And literally it felt like three panels.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Yeah it was. Oh, the Kaijus destroyed Qui goun Jin
- 41:36Speaker 2: and Obi Wan's ship. They ran to bail Organa ship
- 41:41Speaker 2: Bailorgana said hey, let's get the hell out of here,
- 41:45Speaker 2: and they did. That was it. And I'm like, what
- 41:49Speaker 2: does this do for me? And what kind of character
- 41:55Speaker 2: development does this have for any of these characters?
- 41:58Speaker 3: Yeah, basically, because you're because the story group Guggenheim chose
- 42:06Speaker 3: to focus each issue on individual Jedi, you run into
- 42:11Speaker 3: the issue of, hey, we're spending all of this time
- 42:14Speaker 3: on other like basically a bunch of one shots and
- 42:17Speaker 3: trying to put it together into some overwarking story. Basically
- 42:21Speaker 3: trying to do a crossover with a bunch of different
- 42:24Speaker 3: one shots and it's not hidden, it's not hidden, and
- 42:30Speaker 3: this one is only supposed to be twelve issues, so
- 42:33Speaker 3: it's only going to have the person the second volume
- 42:36Speaker 3: in this. But I'm like, dude, I I love what
- 42:43Speaker 3: Guggenheim did with Arrow and Flash. I don't know what
- 42:48Speaker 3: happened with the comic writing, Like what is this garbage?
- 42:54Speaker 3: You're muted?
- 42:57Speaker 2: It really gets me depressed because, like, I know, there's
- 43:06Speaker 2: other things that Guggenheim has written that is on my
- 43:11Speaker 2: to read pile that just makes me go, do I
- 43:15Speaker 2: really need to read that now? Because the stuff that
- 43:18Speaker 2: he has been hitting or the stuff that he has
- 43:21Speaker 2: been writing that we have gone over has not been hitten.
- 43:25Speaker 3: And like.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Again we said art gorgeous. I like the art.
- 43:33Speaker 3: I genuine the original characters that Guggenheim has developed. I
- 43:38Speaker 3: would have rather had a story about what oh gosh,
- 43:43Speaker 3: and now I'm forgetting my name.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Uh it is, I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 43:48Speaker 2: It is, uh, Vetna Mooncrest. I cover right here. I
- 43:56Speaker 2: need I. I might actually go on the hunt for
- 44:01Speaker 2: every single one of these covers because they are gorgeous.
- 44:05Speaker 3: You're super gorgeous.
- 44:06Speaker 2: This artist, this artist, particularly for the covers, needs to
- 44:12Speaker 2: do a cover for a novel. Yeah, I like, this
- 44:19Speaker 2: is just amazing art. It's so good. I really like
- 44:24Speaker 2: this character. And like one thing that I kind of
- 44:29Speaker 2: rolled my eyes at, which I do think is something
- 44:34Speaker 2: that will circle back in the series. They basically made
- 44:39Speaker 2: a xenomorph in Star Wars, which is aliens like Alien
- 44:46Speaker 2: versus Predator. They basically made aliens in Star Wars. Yoda
- 44:52Speaker 2: and Mooncrest fought against it in issue number two, and
- 44:59Speaker 2: I kind of rolled my eyes at it because I
- 45:00Speaker 2: was like, Okay, Like I think the hype over the
- 45:05Speaker 2: fact that like Predator and Aliens are getting their own
- 45:09Speaker 2: comic now, especially in twenty twenty five, is when they
- 45:11Speaker 2: launched the whole twentieth century Fox line. Yeah or twenty
- 45:16Speaker 2: twenty four to twenty twenty five, should I say? And like,
- 45:20Speaker 2: I get it. You need to bring new things in
- 45:23Speaker 2: order for people to read your comic. That's how writers
- 45:27Speaker 2: get paid in the comic book industry. I understand it.
- 45:31Speaker 3: And that's where I was like with the Kaiju thing,
- 45:33Speaker 3: the Cain like the little easter eggs for sci fi films,
- 45:39Speaker 3: didn't really bug me. It was just the overall writing
- 45:44Speaker 3: involved where I was like, like, again, would have rather
- 45:50Speaker 3: had Vetna Mooncrest as the star character here, because, like
- 45:55Speaker 3: they he has a panel where she's like, oh, yeah,
- 45:59Speaker 3: the radio she is messing with my implants for my disability.
- 46:02Speaker 3: What disability? What makes you interesting? Tell me you just
- 46:07Speaker 3: have a disabled character and you just shoss over it.
- 46:11Speaker 2: It was like, Oh, well, whatever type of thing that
- 46:14Speaker 2: we're searching for the radiation from it is actually you know,
- 46:19Speaker 2: messing with my implants. And it's like, oh, so this
- 46:23Speaker 2: is going to play into the next part of the story. Nothing.
- 46:26Speaker 2: It immediately just disappears. Like she walks into the room
- 46:31Speaker 2: full of all this stuff and then she is capable
- 46:34Speaker 2: of fighting without any disability.
- 46:38Speaker 3: It's like she flipped the switch and was like, oh
- 46:40Speaker 3: it was buggy me. Now it's gone great.
- 46:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Like that's.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Not how disability works.
- 46:45Speaker 2: It makes no sense whatsoever.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I don't know. Guys don't tell me. We're in the
- 46:50Speaker 3: Star Wars universe. They can do things. Yes, I know that,
- 46:54Speaker 3: but the whole point of having a disabled character is
- 46:56Speaker 3: so other people feel represented, and by just glossing over it,
- 47:00Speaker 3: people don't feel represented. I hate to break it to you.
- 47:11Speaker 2: No, I totally agree. Also, like going into some of
- 47:16Speaker 2: the other stories, like when I saw the preview, oh
- 47:22Speaker 2: freaking' Jengo Fett is going to be in the next issue,
- 47:26Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, how are they gonna play around this
- 47:31Speaker 2: if Qui gon Jin is going to be a main
- 47:35Speaker 2: character in this story. One thing that like, maybe this
- 47:41Speaker 2: is my ignorance as somebody who is still like I
- 47:46Speaker 2: wouldn't call myself a veteran Star Wars fan yet I'm
- 47:49Speaker 2: still there's still plenty of stuff that I could learn
- 47:52Speaker 2: from old school legends and things like that to really
- 47:55Speaker 2: start putting myself in that legends or that that veteran category.
- 47:59Speaker 2: But like in my mind, wherever Kai gun Jen goes,
- 48:03Speaker 2: obi Wan goes as well. That's how we've seen every
- 48:09Speaker 2: single Master with their padawans. Yeah, their padawan is just
- 48:15Speaker 2: essentially an extra asset to help them along their missions.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Obi Wan is literally nowhere to be seen except from
- 48:24Speaker 2: issue one and issue five.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's and I get that they probably wanted
- 48:32Speaker 3: to go, Oh, let's focus on lesser priority characters so
- 48:35Speaker 3: that way obi Wan doesn't kind of have those plot
- 48:40Speaker 3: integrals ples, but still, like, you can't tell me that
- 48:48Speaker 3: this was what we really wanted to do here, guys.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah, now, don't get me wrong, Like we said, uh,
- 48:56Speaker 2: Master Mooncrest shocked t like having like issue number one,
- 49:03Speaker 2: the fact that Yoda and Mace Windu went on opposite
- 49:08Speaker 2: sides of this civil war destroyed these people's like whole
- 49:16Speaker 2: reason for like arguing and fighting and then said now
- 49:21Speaker 2: you have nothing, now come to an agreement. That was
- 49:26Speaker 2: so dope. I really liked it, and I was like, cool,
- 49:29Speaker 2: we're getting into some like freaking guerrilla warfare politics and
- 49:34Speaker 2: stuff like this. We're getting to the whole reason why
- 49:37Speaker 2: Jeni are colled like freaking uh the Guardians of Peace Galaxy,
- 49:45Speaker 2: Like I want to see more of this. We started
- 49:49Speaker 2: to get more into politics with uh, the Count Dooku
- 49:56Speaker 2: and Yattle story.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't wait to see where that's going. But
- 50:00Speaker 3: like I also would have rather had instead of trying
- 50:04Speaker 3: to accomplish an overarching story, I would have rather had
- 50:07Speaker 3: almost true one shots where characters can yes cross over.
- 50:12Speaker 3: But I don't need this assassin that is predicted to
- 50:15Speaker 3: kill Kuai gon Jin because I know that it's not
- 50:17Speaker 3: gonna happen exactly. I want to know the different areas
- 50:22Speaker 3: where the Jenier are solving piece in the galaxy and
- 50:25Speaker 3: supposed to be doing their jobs.
- 50:27Speaker 2: But also one thing that I do not need, because
- 50:31Speaker 2: I am also not a child, is I do not
- 50:37Speaker 2: need this dark omen shadow story between Count Dooku and Yaddle.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I know their story. You even showed us the very
- 50:51Speaker 2: first page of that issue, issue five. The very first
- 50:55Speaker 2: page was a fast forward to the fight of Yaddo
- 51:00Speaker 2: Count Dooku, and then that entire issue was just like
- 51:05Speaker 2: a ooh, I need to protect Count Do I need
- 51:09Speaker 2: to protect Count Dooku for some reason I don't know why. Oh,
- 51:12Speaker 2: you regret it. No, I don't regret it, but I
- 51:14Speaker 2: just follow the force, and the force says this, and
- 51:16Speaker 2: of course it's so that the timeline is correct in
- 51:22Speaker 2: putting them where they need to be to make the
- 51:26Speaker 2: empire and all this other stuff for the regular timeline. Like,
- 51:31Speaker 2: I don't need that. We already know this. I want
- 51:35Speaker 2: all the stuff that you couldn't tell me in these
- 51:37Speaker 2: Clone Wars animated shows and the movies and everything else.
- 51:42Speaker 3: And like, are those little sneak peaks because I'm gonna
- 51:45Speaker 3: disagree with you slightly? Is the front opening issue or
- 51:52Speaker 3: front opening panel of that pretty cool to have that
- 51:56Speaker 3: reminder of it, Hey, Dookoo's gonna kill? Yeah, Yes, that's
- 52:01Speaker 3: that was a cool panel. That's a cool reminder to
- 52:03Speaker 3: have that. I don't need it the rest of the life.
- 52:07Speaker 3: I just want to see the interaction between the two.
- 52:10Speaker 3: You can go, hey, reminder, this is going to happen.
- 52:13Speaker 3: But I don't need a reminder every other page in
- 52:16Speaker 3: the issue.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:21Speaker 3: I don't want to harp on this too much. I
- 52:23Speaker 3: think it's very clear that we both strongly dislike this one.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Other than the art. The art is gorgeous. I need
- 52:29Speaker 3: the artists to come back for other Star Wars comics.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think I think, oh I.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Might finish Jedi Knights Volume two, but I don't know
- 52:41Speaker 3: if there's another Gugunheim comic I would read after this,
- 52:44Speaker 3: Like I want to know how it ends basically at
- 52:46Speaker 3: this point to like hate read it kind of or
- 52:48Speaker 3: support the artist. That's what That's what I'm saying. I'm
- 52:50Speaker 3: going to support the artists and read what's next. I
- 52:55Speaker 3: don't know if I want to continue reading Googunheim and
- 52:58Speaker 3: stuff after that.
- 52:58Speaker 2: This is supposed to be ongoing, correct.
- 53:02Speaker 3: I think it's only two volumes?
- 53:05Speaker 2: Okay, Well that kind of tells you because we had
- 53:10Speaker 2: discussed like, oh, this is set up as an ongoing
- 53:13Speaker 2: I thought it was alway supposed to be a mini
- 53:15Speaker 2: series and then it's only two volumes. That tells me
- 53:18Speaker 2: that the sales were not great on this and they
- 53:21Speaker 2: cut it short.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Wookipedia. Wikipedia states is ongoing.
- 53:32Speaker 2: Okay, so if it is a true ongoing, yeah, going,
- 53:41Speaker 2: then we should continue, like we should be getting more issues.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Currently on Marvel Unlimited, they have up to issue number seven.
- 53:58Speaker 2: I don't know how many issues are actually out this
- 54:04Speaker 2: year ongoing comic, so.
- 54:10Speaker 3: It looks like there's ten issues out, Okay, and correction, guys,
- 54:17Speaker 3: I think we said earlier that this had one through six.
- 54:20Speaker 3: This only has one through five and free Comic book Day.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yeah, I again I dig the art everything
- 54:34Speaker 1: else you can toss.
- 54:37Speaker 2: I agree II one hundred agree well with that.
- 54:45Speaker 3: With that negativity note, yeah.
- 54:48Speaker 2: I mean unfortunately, there was not much of anything there.
- 54:51Speaker 2: I do hope that like issues six through ten, like
- 54:58Speaker 2: we do get like some fun stories like again, issue
- 55:02Speaker 2: number one really popped off. The ideas of issue number
- 55:07Speaker 2: two and issue number five, they're all really good. It
- 55:14Speaker 2: just needs to be fleshed out. And I don't think
- 55:16Speaker 2: the anthology idea around it is letting these parts really
- 55:22Speaker 2: flesh out.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and guys. This was pitched initially by Guggenheim in
- 55:28Speaker 3: May of twenty twenty four. It was officially announced on
- 55:31Speaker 3: October eighteenth, twenty twenty four, with the first issue being
- 55:35Speaker 3: published March fifth, twenty twenty five. The events are between
- 55:41Speaker 3: the years forty BBY and thirty four bby. The LUCASLMS
- 55:46Speaker 3: Story Group asked if he could be purposefully vague with
- 55:51Speaker 3: what specific years the stories were taking place, So that's
- 55:56Speaker 3: why there's no distinction of where things take place.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense because again we see a we
- 56:08Speaker 2: see an actual appearance of Obi Wan, and then we
- 56:11Speaker 2: have a mention of oh Dooku is a former Jedi.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Yep.
- 56:18Speaker 2: But we just don't know for how long. So we'll
- 56:22Speaker 2: see how the rest goes. We may or may not
- 56:25Speaker 2: actually review it on you know, Live, just because of
- 56:29Speaker 2: how kind of negative we were on this one. So
- 56:33Speaker 2: we'll discuss it and we'll got we'll let you guys know.
- 56:37Speaker 2: But with that, guys, thank you so much for being
- 56:39Speaker 2: here on our first live of the new year. Here's
- 56:44Speaker 2: too many many more. Of course, you can find me,
- 56:47Speaker 2: excuse me at fanboy Clay on any and all social media. Uh.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Probably not on Twitter for much longer, honestly, Uh, with
- 56:56Speaker 2: the new terms of service and a lot of discussing
- 56:59Speaker 2: things that have been happening in the last two weeks
- 57:02Speaker 2: or so. I'm definitely getting the the the ic from
- 57:09Speaker 2: Twitter so very much so follow me on Instagram, follow

- 57:43Speaker 3: Happy New Year. Happy New Year, guys. Well we've got
- 57:47Speaker 3: a lot of cool things planned for this year. Guys.

- 57:53Speaker 3: me on most social media platforms is at Slice of
- 57:56Speaker 3: Katie Sam thing with Clay. I'm barely used Flitter, guys.
- 58:00Speaker 3: I only basically log on check the chat, and half
- 58:03Speaker 3: the time I forget to check the chat because the
- 58:06Speaker 3: notifications don't work to tell me that there's a new
- 58:08Speaker 3: message in there, so I have to physically remind myself
- 58:10Speaker 3: to the click button to go check the chat. So
- 58:15Speaker 3: but I am available everywhere else and I'm My goal
- 58:18Speaker 3: is to try and be around more and answer questions
- 58:22Speaker 3: and like post things. So that is my goal for
- 58:25Speaker 3: this new year, while also keeping my social media low overall.
- 58:30Speaker 3: So we'll see what happens. But next week, guys, we
- 58:35Speaker 3: are going to be talking about We're going to be
- 58:38Speaker 3: starting our Mandalorian walk back basically, so we are going
- 58:43Speaker 3: to be talking about Mandalorian Season one, episodes one through four,
- 58:46Speaker 3: next week. We'll talk the end of season one in
- 58:50Speaker 3: February and then hit a season two in March and
- 58:53Speaker 3: season three in April, so just so you guys kind
- 58:57Speaker 3: of have that in your back pocket, but that's what
- 58:58Speaker 3: we're talking about next week. So with that, I want
- 59:01Speaker 3: to wish everyone a great day or night, whatever time
- 59:04Speaker 3: we did, you're listening or watching, and we will see
- 59:06Speaker 3: y'all next time. May the Fourth be with you.
