- 0:35Dayna Roselli: We reveal our celebrity gig that got us up close and personal.
- 0:39Sean McAllister: Hey Dana, spin that wheel.
- 0:41Sean McAllister: Okay, here we go.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Let's stay up on the biggest.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: I mean, uh you say that it's been a week.
- 1:15Sean McAllister: It has been a week.
- 1:18Sean McAllister: I mean, it's been one of those just non-stop chunks of time where like schedules have been all over the place.
- 1:28Sean McAllister: We've had, you know, w work gigs that have had us staying up all night long and then followed by uh video shoots early morning the next day, and it's been hard to to catch up on sleep.
- 1:43Sean McAllister: I feel like we are back to like what Vegas is supposed to be.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: I mean, and then some is what I feel like.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: You know, it's been crazy.
- 1:51Dayna Roselli: All the different events, all the openings, all the re-grand openings, all the work out there.
- 1:56Dayna Roselli: We're super thankful for all the work.
- 1:58Dayna Roselli: This is what we were hoping would happen, but I think like our body is programmed to have those little like, you know, hours where we do nothing and watch Netflix and and there's no time for it anymore.
- 2:08Sean McAllister: We need to get off the pandemic programming and get back onto regular life.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: And I just said to you this morning, I said, when am I gonna, you know, like stop drinking so much wine so that I can actually get on that diet I was supposed to get on.
- 2:21Sean McAllister: I know.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: I know.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: But everything we do, you know, is like, you know, I'll have one glass, you're celebrating something, the opening of something, or you and I sometimes we we sit down and we we edit late at night, and we go, uh, maybe we'll have a glass of red wine.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: It's just what we need to do.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: It's just that, you know, it for me, anyway, as a woman, it piles on the pounds.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: Well, for me as a guy, it piles on the pounds, too.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: Well, I was thinking like We're in the same boat.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: When are we gonna do the diet?
- 2:49Dayna Roselli: And then it's like, okay, the holidays are coming up.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, there's always an excuse, but I mean, I don't even mean diet, but just, you know, I could shave off a few so that I fit into some of my old favorites in the closet.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: Anyway, I know a lot of you that are listening are in our boat, so we are not alone.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: We are not alone.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: I hear everyone talking about that.
- 3:07Sean McAllister: And hey, speaking of being in our boat, our uh listeners from across the pond are finally, it feels like they will also be back in our boat very soon.
- 3:17Sean McAllister: Um, it was just announced this week that the White House here in the United States is easing up on restrictions to allow visitors from the United Kingdom.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: I know, and it's interesting because I feel like Vegas has been so busy, and I'm like, gosh, we don't even have UK visitors here yet.
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: So imagine.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: But they have been just chomping at the bit to get back over in Las Vegas.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: We follow a lot of people on our our Twitter account and a lot of different bloggers who are just ready to be back in Vegas.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: So huge news.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: Uh November is when they're gonna open up, and there's a lot of different rules and restrictions, but mostly from just a browse through, it looked like you either have to have a negative test, like uh, you know, within two days, or you have to be vaccinated.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: But right now, basically, people can go over to the UK, and if you're a US citizen, you can come back, but people from the UK, or if you're a UK citizen, you can't come into the USA.
- 4:10Dayna Roselli: So that will ease up in November, which is a game changer for tourism.
- 4:15Sean McAllister: Yeah, it absolutely is.
- 4:16Sean McAllister: Um, but keep in mind, even though uh that is all easing up and uh you know, tourism travel is going to be allowed again as of uh mid-November, there are still going to be restrictions that come with that travel.
- 4:33Sean McAllister: So there's a lot to get into, a lot of nitty-gritty, especially if you're from certain locations and everything.
- 4:39Sean McAllister: So you're gonna need to read up on exactly what impacts you as you are coming here to the United States.
- 4:47Sean McAllister: But the good news is that you're going to be able to come here, and we can't wait to have you here.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we don't want people showing up at the airport and going, Well, Vegas Revealed told me I was good to go.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: So do your own research.
- 5:00Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed told you to see what you need to do.
- 5:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, just know that you're gonna be able to get over here into Las Vegas sometime in November.
- 5:09Sean McAllister: And hit us up when you do get here because we'd love to say hi and hear how your trip is going.
- 5:15Sean McAllister: Oh my goodness.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: It's funny because we're inching toward the end of September already.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: This month is just flying by.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: How is that even possible?
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: I know, and already there's announcements coming out about New Year's Eve events, and I'm like, wait, 2022?
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: What?
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: Holy cow.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: Uh but Maroon 5's coming here to the Cosmopolitan on New Year's Eve.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: They're doing two nights, the 30th and the 31st.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: Sean and I were glancing, and it's gonna be at the Chelsea, and that's it's more of an intimate venue, right?
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't say it's not huge.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: I don't know the exact number that it holds, but if you want to have a fun New Year's Eve with Maroon 5, you can go.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: But the tickets start in the low 200, so it's a pricey event.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: It is, and keep in mind it is New Year's Eve weekend, so it is one of the busiest weekends that we see for travel here in Las Vegas.
- 5:58Sean McAllister: But what I thought was interesting is uh Maroon 5 has historically done New Year's Eve weekend.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: Uh New Year's Eve isn't always on a weekend, but they always do a few shows right around New Year's Eve leading up to the New Year.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: And historically, those shows have been over at the Mandalay Bay uh Event Center.
- 6:19Sean McAllister: This year, as you mentioned, Dana, it's going to be at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan.
- 6:24Sean McAllister: So not the usual home for Maroon 5 during uh the New Year's Eve festivities.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: So they usually play the Mandalay Bay Event Center, which I think is a lot bigger than the Chelsea.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: So it's more of an intimate gig, that's for sure.
- 6:37Sean McAllister: Uh totally.
- 6:38Sean McAllister: And the Mandalay Bay Event Center is now, I believe, the Micelobe Light Arena or something.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: If you're keeping track of branding and sponsorship marketing situations.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: So shout out to Michelobe.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: We're always looking for sponsors too, Mickelobe.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: Sean will drink anything.
- 6:54Dayna Roselli: Sean will drink anything.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: He'll just become a Michelob drinker if you just want to, you know, sponsor the podcast.
- 7:02Sean McAllister: Or Grey Goose or Bacardi or Patrone.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: All of it.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: All of it.
- 7:08Sean McAllister: So yeah, New Year's Eve plans already underway.
- 7:10Sean McAllister: So get going if you haven't even started thinking about that yet.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: And the theater at Virgin Hotels is also announcing a bunch of shows coming uh to their theater in December as it leads up to the new year.
- 7:23Dayna Roselli: Um, so pay attention to their calendar too, because I know a lot of people like to see concerts there now that it's uh open and upgraded.
- 7:31Sean McAllister: And Dana, if people have been paying attention to the Vegas Revealed TikTok page, which if you have not been paying attention to it, we certainly hope that you start paying attention because there's some fun stuff on there.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: Uh one video in particular was from uh this past weekend with DJ Pauly D.
- 7:52Sean McAllister: And it has gone into like the viral stratosphere.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: Alright.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: So let's just talk about this grand opening weekend at the Sugar Factory.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: You and I had a job where we were to follow a bunch of celebrities on two separate nights for grand opening events.
- 8:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, taking video of all of the festivities and the excitement going on.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: One of our nights included a visit from DJ Poly D, who was also scheduled to do a set there at Sugar Factory.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: And so he was part of the grand opening festivities, and we had a blast, first of all.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: DJ Pauly D, I don't know like the technical part of DJing.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: All I know is if it makes me have fun and have a good time, right?
- 8:34Sean McAllister: And that's the point of it, isn't it?
- 8:35Dayna Roselli: I think so.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: And I had a blast, you had a blast, just listening and watching DJ Poly D do his thing because we shot a bunch of video when he arrived and came with his girlfriend.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: He did some of the goblet drinks, he also delivered like a big birthday surprise to someone at a table, and then he did his set, and we had to wait through that.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: So we had a blast listening to him.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: The music he was playing, his personality, his energy, the whole nine.
- 9:00Sean McAllister: Well, and we've both known Pauly for years.
- 9:03Sean McAllister: He he's ended up buying a house out here in Las Vegas.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: So, you know, Pauly's a Vegas local at this point, and yeah, we had a good chance catching up with him really quickly.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: And I think he's another one we need to put on our guest list for the podcast because he Polly's great.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: And if you don't know, Pauly is from the reality show, hit reality show, Jersey Shore.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: I mean, Jersey Shore was literally like the number one reality show when it was on full time.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: Even if you didn't want to watch, you couldn't turn it off.
- 9:34Sean McAllister: But we're not even talking about number one in the United States.
- 9:37Sean McAllister: It's like number one around the world.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: Can you imagine translating that show into a different language?
- 9:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, I don't know how that I feel like sometimes they even spoke their own language on the show.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: It's true.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: Between the GTL, the Jim Tan Laundry days, and T-shirt time, the cabs are here.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: The whole nine.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: So you and I even talked about how Polly always says, the cabs are here, you know, and he ended his set at Sugar Factory by saying, I gotta go, you know why?
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: Because the cabs are here.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: You know what?
- 10:07Sean McAllister: Let's take a listen to that.
- 10:08Sean McAllister: Because it was great.
- 10:12SPEAKER_04: If you're having a good time, make some noise right now.
- 10:19SPEAKER_04: I gotta leave, though.
- 10:20SPEAKER_04: You wanna know why?
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: The cab's here.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: So he was a blast.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: So funny.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: There were people there with signs, and then there was a whole bridge underneath a sugar factory right there on the strip, and everyone was stopping on the bridge to like fist pump and dance to the music he was playing.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: So it was a great crowd.
- 10:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, it really was.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: So that was one of the nights that kept us up all night because we were shooting video and then editing well into the early morning hours.
- 10:57Sean McAllister: Another night was actually the night before Poly D with Scott Dissick, who a lot of people might know from keeping up with the Kardashians.
- 11:06Sean McAllister: Uh he was together for a long time with Courtney Kardashian.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: They have a couple kids who the kids were also there at Sugar Factory.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: We knew Scott was coming, but we didn't know he was gonna bring the kids, and so he brought them into the candy shop, and they were it was so funny because I overheard Scott say, Boy, you filled up that whole bag with candy, you're gonna be up all night.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: And and Athiz daughter was like, so what?
- 11:29Dayna Roselli: But I was like, you go for it.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: Uh but they had a blast like picking out some candy, and and then they had one of those big cotton candy goblets, too, there at Sugar Factory.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: We took video of him and all the festivities that had to do with that, and then all of a sudden Mario Lopez showed up with his daughter.
- 11:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I mean it was kind of a star-filled weekend at Sugar Factory, but also just across the city of Las Vegas, because as the Sugar Factory at Harmon Center was having its grand opening and having all these festivities, we also had the iHeart Radio Music Festival in town, which is a a two-day, two-night big extravaganza of every big music star, in addition to the Life is Beautiful festival, which brings in an entirely different roster of A-list talent to downtown Las Vegas.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: It was definitely a weekend full of music and stars in town.
- 12:23Dayna Roselli: I think Mario Lopez, when he came to Sugar Factory, had just left iHeart too.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: And, you know, we saw a lot of our friends and fellow performers here in uh Las Vegas also do some introductions to different artists.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: We saw Debbie Gibson and Joey McIntyre made their way over to iHeart after their show at the Venetian and introduced Journey, I think, with Ryan Seacrest.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: So that was cool to see.
- 12:46Sean McAllister: And Donnie Osmond, another one of our performer friends who hopped over to the iHeartRadio stage to present with Ryan Seacrest.
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: The list goes on.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: iHeart's always star-studded.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: Life is beautiful, looked like a huge success, and the weather was perfect for the nighttime and daytime festival that weekend, too.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: So they had to cancel last year, so love that that went off without a hitch.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: It was a it was a busy packed weekend in Las Vegas, just the way that we like to see it.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: A lot of uh celebrities in town.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: It's like, you know, it just felt like Vegas is really back.
- 13:20Sean McAllister: And by the way, uh Vegas is gonna keep coming back as we head into the fall.
- 13:25Sean McAllister: Keep in mind that over at Resorts World, uh, Celine Dionne, Carrie Underwood, and Katy Perry are all going to be launching their residency shows at the theater at Resorts World before the end of the year.
- 13:39Sean McAllister: Those shows begin in November and then continue on through December.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: So keep that in mind.
- 13:45Sean McAllister: I believe also Katy Perry, kind of tying back to Maroon 5, is going to be doing New Year's Eve shows over at Resorts World.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: Okay, yeah.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: That will be I think a lot of I think a lot of people have even said, I've seen online that they bought their tickets for that already and are looking forward to that.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: Speaking of Resorts World, Zook Nightclub is now officially open, by the way.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: They kicked off, it's the like kind of the first strip side, and I mean like really up against the strip nightclub with you know a view.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: We need to go over there still.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: We will be over there at some point and let you know what it looks like inside.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: But from the videos that I saw on their Twitter account and other people going to the club, it looks absolutely gorgeous.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: So now that's open, and then we're just waiting for the theater.
- 14:25Dayna Roselli: The spa's open, the nightclub's open, the resort is open, now we just need the theater open, and then that property will, you know, be mostly complete.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I think a couple other uh restaurants are going to be opening up in the months to come as well.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: All right, what else?
- 14:40Dayna Roselli: We went to Sushi Samba at the Venetian, which was a lot of fun.
- 14:44Dayna Roselli: And when we say, well, we didn't just, you know, go to Sushi Samba, because it was a big occasion, they have unveiled this new tree bar, okay?
- 14:51Dayna Roselli: So we have to explain this.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: It's this beautiful tree with orange leaves, and it's a whole like bar and lounge.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: You kind of sit under the tree, they have a tree bar menu, and then cocktails, and they unveiled that this week.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: We were there.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it really is uh a visually stunning atmosphere to be uh to be at the bar.
- 15:12Sean McAllister: The bar is almost in the round.
- 15:15Sean McAllister: I guess it's like kind of a big oval, you would say.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: Um there's seating all around the bar, and then there's lounge seating, you know, in the areas next to the bar with boots along along the back.
- 15:26Sean McAllister: Um but all overhead there is just this canopy of beautiful foliage that just takes you into a different world, and it's almost like a a little retreat that just steps away from the craziness of the Las Vegas strip.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's really cool.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: I love when they just add new things to restaurants and lounges that have been there for a long time.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: Because Sushi Samba's been there for a very long time at the Venetian.
- 15:52Dayna Roselli: And you and I are going to an event tonight at Tao, which is also at the Venetian, and that is celebrating 16 years.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: So the Venetian has really had some staple restaurants, longtime restaurants on their properties.
- 16:03Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: And a lot of people they think of Tao and they're like, oh, the nightclub.
- 16:07Sean McAllister: Well, there's a great restaurant inside Tao as well.
- 16:11Sean McAllister: It's a restaurant and nightclub.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: So you can make a whole evening and night out of the out of going to Tau.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: You can.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: And you and I are going to the big anniversary dinner tonight, so we'll talk about it on uh our next podcast and let you know what comes up there.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: I'm sure it's a it'll be a night to remember.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: It's always exciting when they have anniversary parties.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: They do it right.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: They do it right.
- 16:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, they really do.
- 16:32Sean McAllister: So uh we'll talk about that next week.
- 16:34Sean McAllister: Uh, but in the meantime, go check out Sushi Samba uh up in the Grand Canal shops over at the Venetian.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: And a couple notable people that attended the Sushi Samba celebration.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: Erica Jane was there.
- 16:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: You may know her from her music career, or you may know her from the scandal, the divorce scandal, and all the other stuff surrounding it, you know, with her and her her husband.
- 17:00Sean McAllister: But drama.
- 17:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, she's been on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for several seasons now.
- 17:06Sean McAllister: But it was great to see her.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: She looked beautiful and in hot pink.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: She did, and I know the PR team that worked with her just kept telling us how nice she was, what a great person she was to work with.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: So they really enjoyed having her there.
- 17:20Sean McAllister: And all night, uh she was taking, you know, selfies and doing Snapchats and Instagrams and just chatting with people at the party.
- 17:28Sean McAllister: So she was there to really, you know, have a good time with everybody and not just sit in a little sequestered area by herself.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: Right, yeah.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: She was she was part of the party, man.
- 17:38Sean McAllister: She was with the people.
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: Also, Samantha Ronson was the DJ that night.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: And uh, you know, just a little background on Samantha.
- 17:45Dayna Roselli: Her brother is Mark Ronson, who is you probably know as a record producer, I would say.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: He's worked with Duran Duran, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lady Gaga, you know, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars.
- 17:58Sean McAllister: He did Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: Huge.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: Like one of the biggest songs that that Bruno has had.
- 18:03Sean McAllister: So Mark Ronson, huge deal in the music industry, but so is his sister, Samantha, who really entered the DJ scene when there were very few female DJs out there.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: So true.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, now there are a lot, you know, and we see it more and more, but she really was, you're right, one of the very few.
- 18:24Dayna Roselli: And she used to visit Las Vegas all the time, do some sets here.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: We've seen her at the Video Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards, and we hadn't seen her in a while.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: So we were excited.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: There was an orange carpet, and Samantha was there, and we thought, let's get Samantha and let's chat with her about what she's been up to and what she thinks of this whole new kind of like evolution of the DJ.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: One of those years, I think maybe my brother was doing the music, and uh it was.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, God, I remember getting here, and I was with, I think, the Maroon 5 guys.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: And we were all hanging out, and um, and they were like, come on, let's start gambling.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: And so we were gambling a little bit.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: We were s like it was morning, we were sober.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: And like the woman next to us had been up since the night before, and we were just like, these are legends.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: Like, this woman is like, she had no idea that they were moon five.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: She was so drunk, it was the perfect way.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: I think that was at the hard rock.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: The hard rock, the palms.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: I mean, those are the days.
- 19:27Sean McAllister: I mean, and so you have seen such an evolution of what Las Vegas is, as we have.
- 19:33Sean McAllister: Um, how has music kind of changed and helped evolve with the city, do you think?
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: It's funny because you know, when I started DJing, like open format wasn't really the popular thing.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: So it would have been unheard of for somebody like me or my brother to DJ in Vegas.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Because Vegas was just like unsolence music and like techno house, whatever.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: And so when they started, when we all kind of got like welcomed into Vegas, it was like, oh, this is like a new world.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: This is like I can imagine from like the rap pack days to like the unscence days, to like the hip-hop days, so like kind of the it it is now there's something for and I'm sure there was always something for everyone, it's Vegas, but musically, it's so it's it's just so wide open.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: It's it's pretty awesome.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: It's interesting because some of them were at something the other day for work, and there was a teacher we were like, you know, we really like this vibe.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Your job is to kind of feel the vibe of the room, right?
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know you probably come with a listener, no, no, but I feel like that's kind of what I'm best at is playing for the room that's in front of me.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: So having been on Twitch for the last year and a half has been an absolute nightmare because you don't know who's you don't know who's listening.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: I don't know who's everybody.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: People just left the room with the summer playing room with somebody.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: You know, you just like somebody.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: So like it's someone since in June, since COVID.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: So you know the message in months, and to have people in front of you dancing is just such an incredible feeling, and it's just always been what I do, but I'm like, I call myself like DJ Codependent.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: Like I'm like, I'm not having fun of the rumors and having fun.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: Like I'm a people pleaser, so that's kind of like I'll play for obviously I'll play the hits, but you know, it depends on what these people think are the hits.
- 21:34Sean McAllister: Well, so having said that, um, and I don't mean this in uh uh a bad way at all, but do you think that DJs aren't appreciated enough for the art that you bring to creating a vibe and to creating a mood and a feeling?
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: I think we're definitely appreciated.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: I think there's DJs that come and go, and then there's DJs that are around for a while.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: And I think, you know, there's like I've been doing this for 20 years.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: And I never thought this would be something that would be a career.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I thought this was just like a way to have fun and like hang out with my friends and not have to talk to anybody.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: You know, like that.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: I have like such social anxiety.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: I would just hide in the DJ booth anyway.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: So now I was getting paid to do it and free drinks.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: So I think DJs are are well we're we're we're well compensated.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: And I think we're appreciated by I'm I know I'm appreciated by the people that it matters to me.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: You know, this isn't I did a party for Sushi Saba when they opened in London.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: So I feel like I must have done a good enough job that they have me here.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: That's so true, that's true.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: I mean listen, you're great.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: We were excited to see that you were on the list.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: We were like, oh my god, smart thumbs! Yay! But I mean, as far as uh DJ too, it's become such a thing for now.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: There's like headlining DJs.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, does that make you feel good as far as over the last 15 years?
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, really, I feel like the profile of a DJ has come up as almost being needed to make an event successful.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think, um, you know, there's some people who are famously anti-DJs, you know, and in this town even.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: And then there's other people that know that.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Listen, it's Vegas.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: You're probably gonna go to the club in your hotel because it's free, right?
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: But at the end of the day, like how the room stays, whether or not they stay or not, is is is the difference of what a DJ does.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: Do you have any upcoming dates?
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Where can we follow you?
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Where can we see you?
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: Vegas, LA, anywhere close to here, coming to New York tomorrow.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm doing some stuff at the room like private events right now, because there's not really any like club clubs going, but you can see me on Twitch.
- 23:45Sean McAllister: And everybody can go there.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: Everybody that's been the greatest thing about it, actually, is that all these people who would never get to hear me play, either because they're like 11 or 80, or in Argentina or South Africa or wherever they are, they all get to like meet in this little room and like type and and hang out and listen to music.
- 24:05Sean McAllister: And and so having people from all around the world from all different demographics joining you on Twitch, has there been any kind of request that is where you've just been kind of taken back, you're like, oh wow, okay.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: I've always been kind of all over the place and kind of play all different stuff.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: Actually, it's been more like I do a a sad songs set called Saturday, and I play just sad songs, and like that's something that I never would get to do.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: Here.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Nobody's paying me to play sad songs, you know?
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: So it's been like, you know, there's that kind of thing, but but there's so much power to the to the that to that music too.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, apparently I saw this on Uber Effect, so it might be a lie.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: But it said that uh listening to sag sad music can help cure depression.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I'm just out here curing depression.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: Just what I'm doing.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: Listen, we're happy to see you here in Las Vegas.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: We love it.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: Thank you so much.
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: We love getting a chance to talk to you.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: Of course, thank you.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: It's fun to be here.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: Let me tell you, Samantha Ronson is so down to earth and so cool.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: And you could tell how excited she was just to be there and to be playing music for actual real people.
- 25:23Sean McAllister: You you heard that she's been doing it on Twitch.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:26Sean McAllister: But to see actual live people, she was super stoked about it.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: I know, I was looking at one of her Insta stories after, and she was packing.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: She said, I haven't packed for anything in a while, you know, because she came in, flew in.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: So kind of funny, but great to catch up with her, and you can find her on Instagram and you can find her on Twitter, and she's always updating everyone on what she's up to.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: And also her sets on Twitch, if you're into that.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: Alright, let's do some tips.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: And this one, Sean, I had actually never heard of before, but apparently I've been living under a rock because it's been shattering records with a 20-year-off Broadway run.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking about a new show that's here in Vegas, new to Vegas, called Naked Boys Singing.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: And it's over at the Jewel Box Theater, which is inside the Erotic Heritage Museum here in Las Vegas.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: So this is off the strip, but still kind of close.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh, it must just be the name, they're not really naked.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: But as I read further, because I haven't gone to the show yet, they are without clothes during the show.
- 26:34Sean McAllister: They're naked.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: They're naked.
- 26:35Sean McAllister: They are literally naked boys singing up there on stage.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: And actually a version of this show did come through Vegas several years ago.
- 26:46Sean McAllister: There was a a little store over in Commercial Center, which is off of East Sahara.
- 26:52Sean McAllister: Um, and there was kind of a little like sex shop that had a theater in the back.
- 26:58Sean McAllister: And there was a version of this show that played there.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: I went to see that, God, I don't even know how many years ago.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: But this is the first extended run of the show that we've had here in Las Vegas.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's gonna be running for eleven weeks.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: So they're calling it a residency.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: It's it's a slew of shows, and uh apparently it's a hit if it had a 20-year run off Broadway.
- 27:19Sean McAllister: I know it was a a big hit in New York City, so you know, we've had Broadway shows that have come to Las Vegas.
- 27:26Sean McAllister: We've had, you know, Cirque shows that have come from Vegas to New York City, so it's a very symbiotic relationship.
- 27:33Sean McAllister: So, you know, well done.
- 27:35Sean McAllister: Congratulations to the casting crew of Naked Boys Singing over at the Erotic Heritage Museum.
- 27:40Sean McAllister: Hopefully, this will be a a good long run of shows.
- 27:44Dayna Roselli: Right, and just to give you a little bit more color, I'm just gonna read what they put in the press release to kind of explain what it is.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: But it is a high camp musical theater featuring a cast of five handsome boys with gorgeous voices, hilarious comedic timing, and no clothing.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: So that pretty much sums it up.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: And they did send out pictures to go along with not naked pictures, but you can see the guys' faces, and they are all it's a very handsome cast.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: So if you're looking for something different in Vegas, we've got it all.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: Naked boys singing, now running.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: Uh I want to do a follow-up to something that we mentioned last week on Vegas Revealed.
- 28:20Sean McAllister: We were talking about parking over at I know big shocker, we were talking about parking.
- 28:26Sean McAllister: Um, but it was when we were leaving the Miracle Mile shops over at Planet Hollywood, where paid parking is relatively new.
- 28:35Sean McAllister: Um we were talking about uh the paid parking policy at Caesars Entertainment Properties, of which Planet Hollywood is one.
- 28:45Sean McAllister: Um by the time we recorded, we had not heard back from Caesars.
- 28:48Sean McAllister: However, in the meantime, we have, and so here is this big sitch on parking at Caesars Entertainment Properties.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: It will remain free.
- 29:00Sean McAllister: You get free parking if you are a registered hotel guest, a Caesars Rewards Loyalty member, if you are platinum or above.
- 29:11Sean McAllister: Uh parking for Nevada residents with an ID will be complimentary for the first three hours, but parking rates do apply if you exceed that three-hour window.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: Then when you and I were at the Miracle Mile Shops for this sugar factory opening, that's where we parked, we realized Miracle Mile Shops is not part of that.
- 29:33Dayna Roselli: Okay, even though it's inside a Caesar's property, we did the call button and he said, No, we don't have the Nevada ID locals park-free deal here.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: It's always been that way, because we were trying to scan our license and it wasn't working.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: And then there was a special event there one night.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: We had to pay twenty bucks, and then I think it was for Pitbull, and then the other night we paid twelve dollars.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: So it that was also specified in the response from Caesars Entertainment.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: They said that the Miracle Mile Shops parking garage at Planet Hollywood is subject to its own parking rates.
- 30:06Sean McAllister: So keep that in mind.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: That does not fall in line with the parking policy at other Caesars Entertainment properties.
- 30:14Sean McAllister: By the way, over at the Rio, the parking is still free.
- 30:17Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: Hey, we got a tip in from one of our listeners, Brian, who says, you know, along your parking conversations that you're always having, FYI, if you are a veteran, both Caesars and MGM offer upgraded players cards that offer free parking.
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: So he said a lot of people don't know that, a lot of veterans don't know about the perk, so it could be a really good tip.
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: So we wanted to make sure that we shared that as well.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: And oh and be sure to mention that.
- 30:43Sean McAllister: If you are uh an active duty or retired uh armed services member, be sure to mention that at attractions, at restaurants, because a lot of times there are discounts.
- 30:55Sean McAllister: The same goes for uh teachers and uh some public servants too.
- 31:00Sean McAllister: So just keep that in mind as you're navigating things, buying tickets, going to attractions.
- 31:06Sean McAllister: Um there are discounts out there.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: There are, and it's interesting that you say that.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: My parents had to do a sudden trip to Cleveland and needed like a hotel that had some room and was close to where my brother lives, and they asked anyone in your family in the military?
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: And she thought, well, my husband was in the army, so they got a huge discount, which was great because it was a last minute thing that they needed to go there for.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: And I thought, wow, we don't often say dad was in the military for discounts, but maybe we should do that more often.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: He served and but it you're right, it's something that people don't think about, and if you mention it more, there are a lot of discounts for all sorts of stuff.
- 31:42Sean McAllister: And even if you are a senior citizen or if you are a triple A member, especially on travel-related things, there are a lot of discounts for AAA members.
- 31:52Sean McAllister: So just keep that in mind as you're making your Vegas plans.
- 31:57Sean McAllister: Always ask if there are discounts that apply to you.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: I think two really good tips, you know, naked boys and parking.
- 32:04Dayna Roselli: That about sums it up today for our podcast.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: Lots of tips and naked boys.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: Well, listen, we have a lot of work to do, and we're going again to the Tau anniversary tonight.
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: We are going to see Derek Huff at the Venetian.
- 32:15Dayna Roselli: He is kicking off his brand new show.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: Can't wait, and congratulations to Derek, who just won another Emmy.
- 32:20Dayna Roselli: And we are also going to the A-Fan Black and White Ball, which is always a big event here in Las Vegas.
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: That's at the Virgin Hotels this year.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: Supports A-Fan.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: People wear their best black and white, and it's always uh outrageous stuff going on around you and fun food and drink.
- 32:36Sean McAllister: Yeah, big event to support people uh living with HIV and AIDS.
- 32:42Sean McAllister: So always a great turnout, lots of support for the community.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: And then I think we also have the Miami Dolphins in town here to play the Raiders this weekend, so another big home game here in town as well.
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: So listen, thanks for joining us.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: Thanks for hanging with us.
- 32:56Dayna Roselli: Hello, UK, get ready, book your flight.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: We look forward to seeing you here in Las Vegas come November and on.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: And we hope that you hear this very soon.
- 33:06Sean McAllister: On behalf of the flight crew, thank you for flying with us and have a pleasant day.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: Let's go, let's go.
