026 | Reinventing High‑Energy Lasers: From Advanced Manufacturing to Fusion
What will it take to make high-energy lasers more efficient, scalable and commercially viable?
In this episode of the German Innovators Podcast, host Johannes P. Lehmann speaks with Nikolaus “Klaus” Metzger, founder and CEO of Canberra-based high-E Photonics, about the next generation of high-energy and ultrafast laser systems—and the opportunities they could unlock across science, advanced manufacturing, space, defence and fusion research.
Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in laser development, Klaus explains why efficiency, thermal management, beam quality and pump-diode costs…
