- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here and you're about to listen to a hypnosis
- 0:42session all about dealing with conflict and unfortunately in
- 0:46the world not everyone is good-natured and agreeable.
- 0:51Some people like to take advantage of others, some people
- 0:54like to exploit, some people like to argue.
- 0:58And having the skills and the ability to deal with difficult
- 1:01people in situations is quite useful.
- 1:04And it's a fine line because if you are too agreeable with pushy
- 1:09people, you become a walkover. And if you become
- 1:12confrontational, things can escalate.
- 1:15So this uses a metaphor of a mountain of a razor's edge, a
- 1:19very narrow, almost rocky precipice that could go either
- 1:24way, to highlight that there is a sweet spot where you can get
- 1:27the best of both worlds. That you can hold yourself to
- 1:30high standards, that you can have confidence in your own
- 1:33abilities, that you can have boundaries, that you don't have
- 1:36to be pushed around. And that's a very, very healthy
- 1:39way to deal with conflict, to know that you don't have to say
- 1:43yes, that you can have other options and you can stand your
- 1:47ground and state your own perception on things.
- 1:50So if you like the idea of feeling more confident, if
- 1:53generally you avoid conflict and that has had negative
- 1:58consequences for you from being averse to conflict, or if you
- 2:02just want to feel more confident generally in your life and your
- 2:06future. Because this was created for a
- 2:07client that was going to be moving from one part of the
- 2:10world to a different part of the world and they wanted to feel
- 2:13that they had all the resources to make that transition.
- 2:16This session might be for you. Now, if you want something more
- 2:19bespoke about you and your situation, have a look in the
- 2:23description or my website, adamcox.co.uk and there you'll
- 2:27be able to schedule a consultation call with me.
- 2:30For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 2:33won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 2:35Relax and enjoy the. Session Take a deep breath in,
- 2:45and as you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of freshness, of
- 2:50energy, of resourcefulness. And as you exhale, give
- 3:00permission to release. As you slow down that outward
- 3:06breath, give permission to let go of any feelings of
- 3:15frustration, anger, or uncertainty.
- 3:21Just allow it to melt away and leave your body as tiny crystals
- 3:28of ice melting into the atmosphere, breathing in
- 3:36relaxation and exhaling tension. Each breath takes you to the
- 3:47next level of depth, deeper down to a place where change can take
- 3:54place in wonderful and positive ways.
- 4:04And when you breathe in, breathe in for deeper.
- 4:09And as you breathe out, allow the body to settle.
- 4:16Not by forcing relaxation, just by allowing that whatever
- 4:22tension is there, you can let go of that tension.
- 4:29And each outward breath allows a little more to let go with each
- 4:36breath. And sometimes the mind becomes
- 4:45busy, especially when life is in transition.
- 4:52Loose ends, unfinished conversations, perhaps potential
- 5:00or unresolved conflicts. And every now and then there are
- 5:06situations that feel unfair, times when someone else's
- 5:14behaviour reveals something about them.
- 5:20But perhaps you would never choose to become yourself.
- 5:30There are Silver Linings because moments like these are also
- 5:36thresholds. And there are points in life
- 5:43where a person moves from 1 chapter into another.
- 5:49And sometimes that's at a key milestone, like a certain
- 5:54birthday or a new year, or moving from one place to live to
- 6:01another. And with your eyes closed, just
- 6:06feel the heaviness of your eyelids getting heavier and more
- 6:11relaxed. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 6:15something familiar to you. Not a house, not an apartment.
- 6:26I want you to imagine perhaps something familiar from a dream
- 6:31or a thought or an idea. I want you to imagine wearing
- 6:38clothing that is warm and finding yourself high up in the
- 6:44mountains of the Pyrenees. Imagine walking on the border
- 6:53between France and Spain. Perhaps you can imagine rocky
- 7:01paths, peaks, valleys, snow and ice, and sometimes high up
- 7:16lakes. This is the kind of place where
- 7:23people walk for days at a time. But I want you to imagine you
- 7:28have the stability of a mountain goat as you walk there high up
- 7:36in the mountains. I want you to connect without
- 7:40feeling of stability and yet feel that you are moving forward
- 7:46to a clear destination. And every now and then, just
- 7:52allow yourself to follow a trail.
- 7:55Explore what you explore and then return to your route that
- 8:01moves you forward. And I want you to imagine
- 8:07sensations there in the mountains.
- 8:11Imagine feeling the wind, the quiet, the vastness of it all.
- 8:18And perhaps you can imagine walking alongside one of those
- 8:25mountain paths and notice any insights, thoughts or feelings
- 8:32that arise because some sections of a mountain are wide and easy
- 8:42and other sections narrow. Almost like walking along a
- 8:48Ridge, a thin path between two slopes.
- 8:56But feel the stability of that mountain goat.
- 9:00Connect with feeling balanced, focused, present.
- 9:07That's it. Connect with a feeling of
- 9:13absolute stability, even though you are walking on a path that
- 9:19some people call the Razor's edge.
- 9:25Not dangerous for someone who walks carefully with that
- 9:30stability. Not frightening for someone who
- 9:36understands balance. Because the razor's edge is
- 9:43simply the place where clarity and confidence lives.
- 9:52The place where a person walks forward without being pulled by
- 9:56anger on one side or the resignation of that weak
- 10:03acceptance on the other. Just steady, balanced.
- 10:11And as you imagine walking along this mountain path, you might
- 10:17notice that earlier in the journey, there were moments of
- 10:22frustration, moments where anger appeared.
- 10:29And maybe that anger was about unfairness, someone's behavior,
- 10:36being unreasonable, disrespectful, entitled, or just
- 10:43exploitative. And when someone tries to take
- 10:48advantage, any anger sometimes is reasonable.
- 10:56Because anger is not weakness. Anger can be energy.
- 11:04When something you value is being violated, something you
- 11:09hold to be true is being misconstrued or exploited,
- 11:15perhaps the mind's way of saying something matters.
- 11:21Something deserves protection. And the problem about anger is
- 11:29never anger itself. The emotion is fine.
- 11:36It can only be a problem with what people do with that anger.
- 11:42Some people explode with it, and some people suppress it.
- 11:49I want you to tap into the third option.
- 11:56The third option is discipline, because a person walking along a
- 12:02mountain Ridge doesn't waste energy shouting at the wind, and
- 12:09they don't allow themselves to just fall.
- 12:13They simply place the next step carefully, steadily forward, and
- 12:26as you continue walking along this Ridge, give permission to
- 12:33feel a change. That anger that once felt heavy,
- 12:40anger that led you to feeling unbalanced begins to transform.
- 12:48And not disappearing, just transforming.
- 12:52Like a fire that once burned wildly being placed inside a
- 12:57furnace field of focus. The energy being contained,
- 13:06harnessed and useful. That fire of anger now becomes
- 13:13clarity, strength, resolve and boundaries.
- 13:22Because dealing with difficult or entitled people doesn't
- 13:25require rage. It requires structure, evidence,
- 13:34sometimes documentation, or calm confidence with a quiet
- 13:40knowledge and belief that truth still matters.
- 13:45What's true is more important than what someone believes.
- 13:55And as you continue walking along the Ridge, the razor's
- 13:58edge, notice that behind you is the place you are, leaving that
- 14:07apartment with space you never used, the landlord causing
- 14:12difficulty, the conflict or tension.
- 14:17And as you think back from this vantage point, something becomes
- 14:23clear. That chapter of your life was
- 14:28never meant to be permanent. It was simply a crossing point,
- 14:34a stepping stone, perhaps. A place where you learned about
- 14:39resilience, about fairness, that you achieve something
- 14:45magnificent that you had set out to do.
- 14:50Publishing a book and making it available to the world.
- 14:55All of that matters. But you also learned about how
- 15:00to stand your ground without losing your balance, without
- 15:06resorting to unnecessary anger or rage.
- 15:11The feeling is fine if it's harnessed in the right way and
- 15:18ahead of you. Now the path begins to widen the
- 15:23razor's edge. The Ridge opens into a valley, a
- 15:28new place, a new home. Not just physically, but
- 15:36energetically. Because when someone moves
- 15:41homes, they aren't only changing walls and furniture, they're
- 15:48changing the atmosphere and the very ambience of their life.
- 15:54A wonderful reset, a recalibration, a lighter
- 16:00chapter. And as you begin walking toward
- 16:04that new place, maybe you notice how the body feels lighter,
- 16:10clearer, less entangled. Because you realize you don't
- 16:17need to carry resentment or frustration into the next
- 16:20chapter. You can carry something far more
- 16:24powerful. Self respect, inner strength,
- 16:32the ability to say that I'm compassionate, but I am no
- 16:38pushover. I am fair, but I am not weak.
- 16:46I can understand people without allowing them to take advantage
- 16:51of me. And that balance is the razor's
- 16:57edge. And perhaps you can imagine
- 17:01arriving at the front door of your new apartment.
- 17:07The door opens, a blank canvas, a clean slate, the ability to
- 17:14make it exactly as you wanted. Because when a space is empty,
- 17:22it can be designed intentionally, just like a new
- 17:28phase of life where you decide what belongs there and what gets
- 17:35left behind, what energy enters, what habits grow, what seeds
- 17:44you're planting to bear fruit in the future.
- 17:51And as you imagine walking around that space, notice how
- 17:56calm it feels. This move is not a retreat or a
- 18:01set back. It's a transition, a step
- 18:05forward, and with the money you save, you create freedom,
- 18:12adventures and travel. And when you travel to those
- 18:20places in Japan or Switzerland, it will come from a place of
- 18:26discernment. You chose this to facilitate
- 18:32what you value more and as you allow yourself to feel that you
- 18:41are on the brink of a new chapter, an empowering phase, a
- 18:48springboard into wonderful new opportunities, it's time to
- 18:55return. And you return with all of those
- 19:00resources coming with you. So take a deep breath in through
- 19:05your nose and out through your nose.
- 19:11Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 19:13Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 19:18from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 19:23Starting to count 123 Waking up 456 more alert 7-8 Open your
- 19:32eyes, open your eyes 910 Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
