- 0:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so last week we talked about cutting off.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: This has been hard.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: It has not been easy to cut off a family member that you like and respect, but at some point you have to say something's wrong here.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: Anytime you have somebody that they they have departed from all sense of self.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Of reality.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Of reality, of self.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: I found this book called, it ought to be called the Discombobulated Brain.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: I like that title better, but it but it's actually called The Indoctrinated Brain.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: It's by a Dr.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: Nels.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: He's a physician and molecular geneticist, and he specializes in immunology, but he's also a researcher that has put together the psychology of the existing political and propaganda atmosphere that we're living in, environment that we're living in.
- 0:47SPEAKER_06: In the media and in universities.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and and check this out.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: This is this is what this is in the foreword to his book, The Indoctrinated Brain.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Highly educated and formerly skeptical loved ones of mine are repeating glaring legacy media talking points without any self-consciousness.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: It's upsetting not to know why they would change in this way.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: And it is even more upsetting, though incredibly enlightening, to read Dr.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Nelson's argument and realize what the cause may be of their submissiveness to propaganda narratives.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna dig into the book, The Indoctrinated Brain, and if it if I could find something interesting that we could share on the podcast, I'll go ahead and do that.
- 1:27SPEAKER_06: Sounds pretty interesting just from that little clip.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: It's wonderful to have somewhat of an explanation.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: You know, it it's hard to accept that propaganda actually exists, even though there's all kinds of evidence.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: There's historical documents about it.
- 1:41SPEAKER_06: Well, when I was in college, they did their best.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:46SPEAKER_06: But as my nanny says, used to say, I'm stubborn.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, did you really feel like you were being manipulated in one direction or another once you especially once you got into higher education?
- 1:55SPEAKER_06: Um sometimes, but you know, I had a lot of science in my curriculum.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no uh political science and history wasn't distorted for you and that kind of thing.
- 2:07SPEAKER_06: Right, but that's because I did all of that stuff like 20 years ago.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: So once you went back to school, you were not susceptible.
- 2:14SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: It's it's a lot, it's a lot to it.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Uh we we talked about Operation Mockingbird a few uh podcasts ago.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: It's been maybe last year even that we talked about it.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: But if you get time, look that stuff up because it'll start to maybe enlighten about what's going on around us for things that just simply do not make sense.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: I look back on some of the things that I did as a police officer over over 25 years.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: There's a distinction, obviously, between the the radio work that I did when I was when I was on the radio being a DJ.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: Then I went through the police academy and became just a completely was trained in a different skill set.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: And and to employ those skills, I had to become a different person.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I had to communicate differently.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: I had to interact with people differently, and then I became became that guy that sits with his back facing the door in every restaurant I go into.
- 3:01SPEAKER_06: No, you won't sit with your back facing the door.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: What did I say?
- 3:04SPEAKER_06: You said you're the guy that sits with his back facing the door.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, I meant my face facing the door.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: But you know what I mean.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: So I I made this arrest, and and it was simply because I was in the right place at the right time.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: I've told you about the arrests before, and I don't feel uh as confident storytelling as I did being the DJ guy, right?
- 3:24SPEAKER_06: So what I but you are a good storyteller.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: But I wanted to tell the story.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: I had AI, I had um has anybody been using Muse?
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Do you know what Muse is?
- 3:33SPEAKER_06: I use it, I love it.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so all all of these apps, these this art artificial intelligence, or as the president calls it, super intelligence, is is life-changing in a lot of ways.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: So, like what are you using Muse for?
- 3:45SPEAKER_06: I use it for mostly for keeping me organized.
- 3:49SPEAKER_06: And let me tell you a story about my Muse real quick.
- 3:51SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 3:52SPEAKER_06: My Muse, whose name is Charlie, yeah, he reads my emails for me and pulls out the important things and tells, doesn't worry about the not important things.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: So is it possible that somebody that isn't tech savvy understands none of this, what the muse is, what you know, named after Charlie, your your dog?
- 4:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's just an AI app.
- 4:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 4:13SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it's just an app.
- 4:14SPEAKER_06: So anyway, Dr.
- 4:16SPEAKER_06: Casper sent an email telling me that he wanted me to use Chat GPT for something.
- 4:25SPEAKER_06: So Muse reads this email.
- 4:27SPEAKER_06: Charlie reads this email and tells me what it says and then says, you don't have to use Chat GPT, you can just use me.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: So Charlie, the Muse gets another customer.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: I use it too.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: The reason I brought that up is because I wanted some help in putting this story together about the best arrest I made when I was in uniform.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: I made some pretty good arrests in uh doing undercover work, doing uh drug work and doing gang work, but in terms of being in uniform, this arrest was was pretty special.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Again, just a product pretty much of me uh being where I was supposed to be and being at the right place at the right time.
- 5:08SPEAKER_06: I don't know how you can remember all of your arrests.
- 5:10SPEAKER_06: Like, I can't even tell you who I saw today in the clinic.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: No, I don't remember all of them.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I remember the ones that that stick out, and this is one the reason I wanted to share this one is because it's it's unusual.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: It involved uh somebody shooting at police.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Guys on our relief, guys that were working with us were uh shot at in the middle of a traffic stop.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: The Doc and Carolyn podcast.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: Powered by powered by.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Powered by Hammock Solutions.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Lufkin, Texas, USA.
- 5:39SPEAKER_04: I started hammock solutions inside of a small incubator back in 2022.
- 5:43SPEAKER_04: Somebody calls and has a virus or something like that, they can get it removed, or if any data restoration or anything like that.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: You went to our page.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: Did you start to weep, or what was your response?
- 5:52SPEAKER_04: I did notice a few issues that needed to be fixed.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: Your copyright on the bottom of the screen was kind of over some objects, so I kind of fixed that.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: I added an archive page and kind of build it up a little bit.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: Most of my business has to do with software, anything that can be done remotely, I will typically do it remotely.
- 6:08SPEAKER_04: How can someone get a hold of you if they have an issue that you can fix with them?
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: They can find us on Facebook under Hammock Solutions.
- 6:14SPEAKER_04: They can do a general search for Hammock Solutions 936-229-0269.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: We typically access through WhatsApp or directly to the lines.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: Hammock Solutions, technical solution for the Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: I did 16 years of patrol work at Graveyard Shift, Third Shift, District of Assignment, District 4.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: The District 4 station sits on Reading Road in Avondale.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: Eleven neighborhoods comprise District 4, Avondale, Walnut Hills, North Avondale, Corryville, Mount Auburn, Bond Hill, Roselawn, Carthage, Hartwell, and there are more.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: Three uniform patrol shifts, each supervised by a lieutenant, all of it under the command of a captain.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: It's a district of contrasts.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: The University of Cincinnati is there.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: Xavier University is there.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: Children's Hospital, one of the most respected in the country.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: Families flying in from all over the world.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: The Cincinnati Zoo, UC Medical Center, and just over the district line, District 5 had UC College of Nursing, where Carolyn earned her Master's of Science in Nursing.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Then, a few blocks over, the other side.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: Part two, moments away.
- 7:22SPEAKER_06: I'm Carolyn Kilgore, founder and provider at TrueHealing Healthcare.net.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Why functional medicine?
- 7:28SPEAKER_06: Because you're more than just a list of symptoms.
- 7:30SPEAKER_06: Traditional care often masks the problem, but functional medicine digs deeper to find the root cause.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: What makes true healing health care different?
- 7:39SPEAKER_06: We move away from the one size fits all approach.
- 7:42SPEAKER_06: We look at your environment and your lifestyle to create a roadmap tailored specifically for you.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: What if someone really wants to make a change?
- 7:50SPEAKER_06: If you're tired of feeling fine and want to start feeling great, it's about proactive wellness, not just reactive treatment.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: What's the deal with telemedicine?
- 7:59SPEAKER_06: As long as you're 18 and have an internet connection, you can have a visit in the privacy of your own home or anywhere else in Texas.
- 8:06SPEAKER_06: We're able to order labs or prescribe or whatever else you need.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: TrueHealing Healthcare.net for the great state of Texas.
- 8:14SPEAKER_05: Document!
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: District 4 was also where I grew up.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: The relief was 30 officers deep on paper, but reality was different.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: Between vacations, sick time, and regular days off, we put maybe 10 to 20 on the street on third relief, plus maybe another 8 to 10 on power shift.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: That was an overlapping shift from 8P to 5A.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: One particular night, the sergeant and the lieutenant ran a standard roll call.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Everybody's exhausted.
- 8:41SPEAKER_02: You get your beat assignment, you get your car assignment.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: Who has court?
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: District and department business.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: It could go from 10 to 30 minutes depending on the supervisor.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: If you're exhausted, your mind wanders just another roll call.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: Another night?
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, let's get through this list.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: Let's get out on the street.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Let's get out of here.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Midway through the routine.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: The radio crackled.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: Shots fired at police.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: Welcome to this Kingdom Minute with your host, Kimberly Blakes on the Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: You vote in favor of full-term abortion up until the ninth month and beyond.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: But it's me that's a traitor to my country.
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: You vote in favor of men in women's bathrooms, men in women's sports, men in women's spaces, men on the covers of women's magazines.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: But it's me that is an enemy of my country.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: You don't know that.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: You don't care nothing about country.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: You are born a Democrat and you're gonna die a Democrat.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: Because that's all you care about.
- 9:41SPEAKER_03: All you care about is the deed.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: You're gonna exercise an ounce of common sense.
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: It is not about race.
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: It has never been about race.
- 9:48SPEAKER_03: It's about common sense.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: Many of us have escaped this implantation, but you guys have not.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: And so you are mad because you've seen somebody thinking my own thoughts.
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: I have the ability to look at something that's wrong and say it's wrong.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: I don't have to look at who's saying it.
- 10:04SPEAKER_03: I'm capable saying it.
- 10:05SPEAKER_03: If it's wrong, if it's against God, I am against it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: Thank you for tuning in to this Kingdom Minute with your host, Kimberly Blakes on the Doc and Carolyn podcast.
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: You can find me on Facebook at Kimberly Blakes, and I also have a podcast called The Faith Frame Perspective.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: I'll see you guys there.
- 10:21SPEAKER_05: Doc and Kimberly Podcast.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: I knew the voices.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: The whole room started to move simultaneously.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: Not panicked.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: It was controlled, but urgent, toward the cars, toward the parking lot.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: The officer sitting next to me ran out, ran to his patrol car at passenger side, threw his gear in, walked around to the driver's side, started the car, threw it in reverse, mashed the gas, and backed straight up into a concrete wall.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: The rest of us kept going.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: I began to think those were the officers on the traffic stop I heard on my way in.
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: I would play the police radio while I drove into work.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: Not really listening.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: It was more background noise.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: But it's amazing how your mind works because in the moment, something that I didn't pay particular attention to, suddenly I knew everything.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: I knew what officers and I knew where.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: The whole relief was rolling towards Walnut Hills.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Walnut Hills was a nice neighborhood in some places.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: Beautiful.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: Old homes with this beautiful stone masonry and huge porches.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: And then on the other side, Urban Blight.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: That's Walnut Hills.
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: I pulled up to the perimeter and saw immediately the officer that was shot at.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: I knew him and pulled up to him and asked him, was he okay?
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: He nodded and I saw something in his face.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: It was determination, focus.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: He ran that beat regularly and knew every bit of it.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: I didn't know it quite as well, so I asked him, I said, Where did the shooter run?
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: What direction?
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: And where do you think he'll pop out?
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: He asked me, Do you know where that little dead-end street is a couple blocks over with that parking lot?
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: I said, Yeah, yeah, I know exactly where that is.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: He said, Go over there.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: So I rolled over there when I got to the top of the street.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: It was a long, dead-end street, a whole row of apartments on the right side, then at the bottom of the street, there was a single street light, barely illuminating that section of the street.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: And then on the left, little parking lot completely enveloped in the dark.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: Back then, the standard uniform for patrol officers was a white long-sleeve shirt and a black tie.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Professional looking, yes.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Ridiculous, yes.
- 12:11SPEAKER_02: And at night tactically illuminating.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: I pulled the Crown Vic under a tree in that small parking lot into the dark across the street.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: I could see a row of apartment buildings.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: The block was, again, very dimly lit by a single streetlight.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: The radio would not stop.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Nothing gets the machinery of public safety working faster than shots fired at police.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: Everybody was coming.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: The media, police brass, officers from other agencies.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: It was controlled chaos.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: A canine was called.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: In this case, there was no recall needed, no waiting for an off-duty officer to suit up and grab his partner and drive in.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: The dog was already working, and he was there in minutes, and the track started immediately right towards me.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: Did did you we we never talk about it?
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: We I don't believe.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: Did we talk very much during that time about what was happening in the field when I would come home?
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: I don't remember having any real any long conversations.
- 13:12SPEAKER_06: I mean, you would give me short snippets sometimes, but nothing.
- 13:16SPEAKER_06: I was shocked.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: I was shocked.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: Uh I guess we were out walking the other day, and you said that you had a you had a more difficult time than you ever communicated with me.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: I I had no idea.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: You handled you handled it, I guess, so gracefully that I never knew that you that you at some point were nervous about it.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, how did you how did you cope with it?
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: And why didn't you tell me?
- 13:37SPEAKER_06: Um, that was after Sonny and I I didn't cope with it.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Sonny Kim.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: If if you if you are are listening elsewhere and don't know, uh Sonny Kim was a Cincinnati police officer that was murdered in the line of duty, and he was just universally loved.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: This man is just the salt of the earth, loved kids.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: He was a martial arts uh master and owned a karate school and taught kids and was a great role model, great, I mean, for police officers and uh and the kids as well.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: And that's the first police funeral you went to.
- 14:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and before that I did really good about, you know, just kind of while you were at work tucking that away somewhere and not dwelling on it.
- 14:17SPEAKER_06: But after him, I had a really hard time when you would leave.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: You did you ever talk to anybody about it?
- 14:23SPEAKER_06: Did you No, you know how I do.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, unfortunately, I do know how you do kind of pry it out of you.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: But uh yeah, so this so this arrest, it was you know, it's funny when when that shots fired dropped in roll call.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it's just amazing how everybody, and and this is probably a credit to the training.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Uh Cincinnati is probably one of the premier agencies in the country.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: I'm not just saying that because I'm from there, but it's recognized nationally as um kind of the gold standard.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: Uh, LAPD also has a reputation, Seattle.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: There are uh uh police agencies all over the country that are well respected and we're happy to be in that company, but we all reacted at the same time without panic.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: And that was what was interesting when that when that shots fired run.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Um, and I mentioned this, and I heard that in the narrative, or I mentioned that in the narrative, that I heard that traffic stop come out when I was driving down the highway to work because I always kept the radio on, you know, I kept it down low, not necessarily paying attention to it.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: But it's but the psychology of not really paying attention, just background noise, if if anything.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: But in that moment, I knew exactly who it was, recognized the voice, and knew exactly where they were.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: Now, part four.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: The terrain behind the apartment buildings was wooded and downhill.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: The track was taking time to navigate that ground, and it needed to because of the nature of this violent crime.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: A cover officer is always assigned with a canine when you're looking for an armed, violent suspect.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: You don't send the dog alone after a man who just shot at the police, but the track kept coming, kept coming down that hill towards the apartments, right towards me.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: I could feel my alert level climbing, if you want to call it that.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: I could it wasn't nerves.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: It wasn't nerves, it was anticipation, maybe?
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Better yet, preparedness.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: I was staring at the gaps between the apartment buildings, at the dark of the hillside behind them, when a lone figure popped out and started lightly jogging right in my direction.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Male, African American, short fro, brown skin, baggy clothes.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: That's him.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: That's the exact description.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: I eased the weapon off safety.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: He kept coming, was making a beeline right towards the darkness where I stood in the shadow.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: He kept coming closer.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: When he was about 10 feet away, I stepped into the light, ordered him to the ground.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: He stopped in front of me, hands up around shoulder height, looking at me, deciding what to do.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: I aimed that shotgun right at his sternum, told him to get on the ground and don't make me shoot you.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: I expected him to still be armed, and I was fully prepared to pull that trigger and stop the threat if I needed to, but he dropped to his knees, then flat onto his stomach, arms spread wide.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: There's no way for me to secure the shotgun and get him into cuffs at the same time.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: So I got on the radio, directed officers to my location, and advised the suspect is on the ground, not in custody, potentially still armed, held at shotgun point.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: A car got there in seconds.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: He went into handcuffs without further incident.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Positive ID was made.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: The shooter went to the criminal justice system and was prepared for trial.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: The revelation to John, chapter 15.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Then I saw another sign in heaven.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: Great and amazing.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire, and also those who had conquered the beast and its image, and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands, and they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty.
