  Like eight hours in front of the front of the screen just

  watching and hoping that as Said 10 would actually like finally

  launched. Oh, for sure it seemed to take

  forever. It's a but we should be getting

  used to this. I guess SpaceX doesn't do

  anything on our time. They do it on their own.

  Yeah. I kneel on time.

  Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

  Like they had the earlier in the day they had the scrub or the
• 0:50
  abort earlier on. So we're just kind of like okay

  cool. Oh yeah, that was something.

  They said a couple of things down 2.1 of a second or
• 0:58
  something like that. Yeah, it was Yeah, it was right

  there but luckily they did they didn't blow up a rocket that was
• 1:04
  good. We don't want us attend to blow
• 1:07
  up on the launch pad, that's bad.

  That's really well. That's, I think that that stop.

  Or was it an earlier, stop? The first time they sent cars

  down there. I think that they had to stop
• 1:18
  because there was an open valve or something in the farm and the
• 1:21
  ground support of it there, so that could have been.

  I mean, Iris, umm, that could be disastrous if they, if something
• 1:28
  went wrong during that. Process.

  Yeah, do it. If we both say the blow up the

  tanks? Yeah, I'd be absolutely

  horrible. I don't know whether that's a

  nostril possibility with that sort of problem, but it's quite

  possible that that could have happened if it's flammable

  anything. Yeah, it's a hot Texas day, you

  know, anything can happen so you never know.

  Yep. This stuff could have just been

  really bad so for sure Russian. Luckily they didn't.

  Yeah it was it was such a weird, is this a wild ride like all

  day? Yesterday was like, Rama and

  then, you know, the tank drama and then like the abort.

  It's like, yeah, what? Yeah, but you know what, I was

  really impressed with SpaceX that they're able to stop things
• 2:12
  fix things, and go back and start all over again and, and
• 2:16
  get it all done and in a very reasonable amount of time, you

  know, when they wouldn't had to stop at the first time, they're
• 2:23
  like, okay, it'll be two hours until we launch this thing.

  And sure enough it was, it's amazing that they got that turn
• 2:29
  around now. Now that they, it's kind of more
• 2:32
  of a well-oiled machine down in Boca Chica rather than sort of a
• 2:36
  wild west as were. Yeah.

  And we told like SN 20, yeah, like it's going to, it's going
• 2:42
  to just, it's just going to happen, you know, it's going to
• 2:45
  be like a falcon 9 launch. We're just gonna be like another
• 2:48
  fucking 9 launch, like not a big thing is gonna take a while,
• 2:51
  before we get to that point, eventually it's gonna be yours.

  It's even if I can, then launches was quite something.

  There was one of those early hours of this morning and you
• 3:00
  See much because it was cloudy I guess and the rocket kind of
• 3:03
  disappeared into the clouds so there wasn't much to see and I
• 3:05
  was very disappointed but it's still.

  It's still cool though. Like every single Falcon 9
• 3:11
  launch every starlink launch like star league launches are
• 3:13
  becoming dislike. Cool.
• 3:15
  We get another one this month. We get two more this month.
• 3:17
  That's awesome. Yeah, he was at the 6th one this
• 3:21
  year, apart the like that I could sit there going.
• 3:25
  You don't even notice how many they're putting up there but
• 3:27
  they're they're rather than Place track a regular A pace.

  Yeah. And that's great mr.

  Lee's that's exactly what they need to do.

  Like these need to keep cranking them out.

  Yeah but Starship I think we'll have a little longer and so we

  start to get that kind of yeah laissez-faire attitude towards

  boosters to deal with. We've got Starship itself.

  Has to launch and land no problems and yeah but they get
• 3:53
  closer and closer every time they landed this one they did,
• 3:58
  they did barely. Really.

  But there are some issues with this one as well, but we'll,
• 4:04
  we'll get into that as we go through it.

  I think we're going to, we're going to sort of jump through

  the launch and Landing here and explain what happened and what's
• 4:14
  happening each stage and sort of figure just talk and figure it
• 4:17
  out. Sounds good.

  All right so here we have SN 10 on launch pad.

  We're ten seconds from launch. I figured we just watch the

  launch of. That makes sense for you.

  Oh yeah. It's always exciting.

  All right, let's do that. Could watch it 50 times and

  still be awesome. Yeah, yeah.

  When they when they launched, these are start these Falcon,
• 4:44
  her Falcons Raptors up. It's it's quite something.

  And of course, there's a 77.2 sitting there on the launch pad
• 4:51
  to on its own little launch pad. Yep.

  Up waiting to explode some day when they get back to it for a
• 4:58
  little guy. Yeah, here we go.

  All right. This is where I hold my breath.

  Every time you go hon. It that such a beautiful thing.

  it's amazing to watch. It's just there's no words

  slowly launch itself up into the air.

  Yeah, it just pushes itself up. It feels like it just feels.

  I don't know, feels like it's not going to go anywhere.

  Yeah. But I think that they've got

  these down if I'm correct. I think they've got these

  Raptors down. Almost the lowest thrust.

  They can go. To launch this thing.

  These things are so powerful. Sorry, Jim interrupting you.

  But they've got these Raptors right down to really low thrust
• 5:58
  to get them up there at this speed otherwise it could just
• 6:02
  just launched itself really fast?

  Yeah, really fast really high? Yeah and Lou.

  So I mean the reason being I guess is to just test out these
• 6:10
  Raptors and have them running longer At the meet up.

  Let them get as hot as they're going to get during regular
• 6:18
  launch and yeah, well, not in look at launch but in the
• 6:21
  regular Landing. Yeah, pretty cool.

  And the cool thing is like this angle.

  You can see the heat shield, the little bit like rectangular heat
• 6:31
  shield portion of the of the rocket to.

  So absolutely amazing that testing going up.

  Yeah I didn't notice at any point in this whether there was
• 6:39
  any damage that just from vibrations and shaking the
• 6:42
  whatnot. That's what They're they're
• 6:44
  doing here. So you can see there's four
• 6:46
  areas where there's heat shield on here and there's one on the
• 6:49
  other side as well. I believe there might even be
• 6:51
  another one on the ship but what are those Rockets is this?

  Where are we coming up on the first engine?

  Shut off suit. I think it's pretty Leaf so see
• 6:58
  ya. Yeah, but it's it takes about
• 7:02
  four and a half minutes or maybe a little bit longer to get up to
• 7:05
  apogee. I think so it's quite a slow
• 7:09
  crawl up to 10 km when SN 8 When they shut off the first engine
• 7:15
  on acetate, I flipped out. I thought it went out.

  Like I didn't know they were going to shut it off.

  So I just I was like oh oh no. Yeah that was the, that was the
• 7:25
  first thing we had no idea what was going to happen.

  Yeah, that's an 8. So now we're now it's old hat

  for us. No problem.

  Yep. And when they have expected fire

  underneath their problem. Yeah, I was hoping that their

  the fire wouldn't stay like us at night.

  So one of the things that came loose in the in sn9 is those is

  So it looked like it might have been loose there again.

  So what does that fabric due to? You know, like is it just a heat

  shield things just heat shield? Yeah.

  It's heat shield, protecting wires or whatever else is in

  From the from those Fires that happen when they turn them off,

  I think. There's certainly wouldn't be

  too much heat at this point with that rocket.

  Sort of blowing it all out downwards.

  It's only when they shut them off and that burst of flame is

  engine is the it takes the longest to shut this one off

  So one thing to watch out for here is you'll see some engine.

  She'll start up again, down to the bottom, you'll see that

  there's sort of the venting start beside that bottom flap,

  and that's their engine chinchilla me engines once again

  to get them real. This is still want that cold,
• 12:47
  cold cold, cold oxygen and methane to hit those engines
• 12:51
  when they're hot because they'll just explode.

  Yeah, there you can see the engine, chill started right

  there. That that plume going up is

  tangential. Starting up again.

  everybody else out there with like I just don't know what to

  wanted to going to start with three engines and then cut out

  two of them. We thought they would cut them

  out one at a time but the cut them out.

  It can land itself, just fine. We saw it on SN 5 & 6, so

  Notice how close they land to the the zone to, to the circle?

  And you can see just as it's coming in to land here.

  The legs of Pop down, but there's a, we can't really see

  legs. The legs did not lock in place.

  So they pop down and a few of them locked.

  But there's probably three or four that didn't through the

  four of the six that did not lock.

  So they're sort of dangling and and weaving back and forth.

  So it's incredible that the thing landed on its Kurt

  essentially and it held up. For now and then we get into

  this is just as its Landing, you can sort of see a flame, they're

  not sure what's going on with that.

  So with that, that might come back and haunt us but also you

  watch this thing bounce as it hits the ground.

  used up in that process. I wonder if they could hover

  imagine, if somebody's inside of this, there's no wake up Landis.

  And and I don't anticipate this being the final way of Landing,

  but they certainly couldn't land like that with people inside.

  Yeah, so we got fire and the flame suppressant system comes

  When the so when the flame suppressant system comes on, I

  there was a small methane leak out of One of the Raptors or

  something like that. One.

  Hit the ground, and I think it's still on fire, but I don't think

  it's, I don't think it's mixing with the liquid oxygen just yet,

  it's using the oxygen that's inside.

  That's from the are essentially to keep a fire burning.

  At this point, I could be totally wrong, of course, but

  it's my theory. Yeah, it's good theory.

  So you can see the Flames present system, you can see

  where they hit the ground to just, just off to the side of
• 17:24
  the center there with the Logo is so they did a pretty good job
• 17:28
  that good job, but definitely there sitting on some of the
• 17:33
  legs and not some of the other legs.

  Apparently, like number three was found across the street,

  something I was three, I found like on the other side of that
• 17:42
  road. So, yeah, that would definitely,

  and land on three. Yeah, so you can see there's a

  flame there. Still.

  Just off on the right hand flap there but the fire suppression

  system goes off here. And that's the end of the SpaceX

  stream. Now we can go we'll go to S

  Padres stream and it's nice of them to allow us to to use this
• 18:15
  but you can still see here that they flip suppression systems
• 18:18
  going. But this is a couple minutes
• 18:20
  later so they this one expression system goes on and
• 18:24
  off for a bit and and they think they've got out of in the under
• 18:28
  control. Of course nobody's headed to the
• 18:30
  launch pad just yet they all want to make sure that
• 18:33
  everything's cool, everything's safe and This happens.
• 18:37
  Then it wasn't safe. Not at all.
• 18:39
  It's the opposite of. So, my theory is My theory is
• 18:45
  that that flame was still going on underneath the skirt in some
• 18:50
  way. Something was burning under
• 18:52
  there. There's not a lot underneath SN
• 18:54
  10 that can burn. It's All Steel except for the
• 18:59
  fuel, you know. So, my guess is that there was a
• 19:03
  tiny fire there than that, tiny, methane leak or something like
• 19:07
  that, which eventually burned through A locks fuel line.
• 19:14
  And of course, locks is still under pressure and and the two
• 19:18
  met and that's what happens when those two things meet.

  Oh yeah, that how the whole thing blew up, so is really
• 19:27
  interesting, you can see on on some of the streams, you could
• 19:33
  see that the methane tank actually, Imploded at that
• 19:40
  moment, it actually imploded on itself, sort of you can say, see
• 19:44
  it could have go go and then right after it, launched into
• 19:48
  the air, the second time like milliseconds later.
• 19:50
  It expanded out again. I didn't even really
• 19:53
  interesting. Yeah, it's really interesting to
• 19:55
  see it sort of okay, so it obviously lost all of its
• 20:01
  pressure and gained it back. When the explosion hit it.
• 20:06
  Basically that methane tank empty you in a hurry and then
• 20:10
  The explosion went up into it inside it and is interesting to
• 20:14
  the nose cone basically. It started collapsing in on
• 20:21
  itself almost immediately as this explosion started.
• 20:26
  So I thought that was quite interesting.
• 20:29
  Yeah, no time. Yeah.
• 20:30
  I mean, the Flames. I mean, the Flames suppression
• 20:34
  system. Probably couldn't even get to
• 20:35
  wear that flame and well, thanks, no.

  I don't give him a so low to the ground.

  There's yeah. But what a way to go out like
• 20:41
  SM. Yeah.

  Like, come on, man. You just, you just landed in
• 20:44
  your hanging out, like, on the pad and just like, man, this is

  a great flight. Everyone was excited.

  And then kablam like the finale, this thing freaking blows up.

  Yeah, absolutely incredible. It's awesome.

  Just hundreds of feet in the air like the think about what they I
• 20:58
  got out of this, right? This is the first Starship
• 21:01
  historical, right? Yeah, this is the first
• 21:02
  Starship, the land under its own power and straight up and down,
• 21:09
  nearly straight up and down. Sir there are some issues with
• 21:11
  the landing legs. We know that there's Landing leg
• 21:14
  issues anyway, they need to replace those.
• 21:16
  I can't land on Mars with those legs.
• 21:17
  So they're looking at solutions for that.
• 21:20
  So that's not really an issue. They know that they can land it.
• 21:25
  They know the, the thrust, they Did they know the angles they
• 21:30
  need? It wasn't perfect.

  But it was enough data that they can move forward with, right?
• 21:36
  They can they can build on this really easily.
• 21:40
  They got to a point where a stable on the ground with the
• 21:43
  exception of a fire going. So This is one more problem to
• 21:47
  solve so SN 11 hopefully over the values that data set in just
• 21:52
  kind of tweak things a little bit enough so that they can
• 21:55
  actually, you know, land the thing.
• 21:58
  And then from there on in like maybe it's going to be standard.

  Like it's going to be a stock thing that they do every time.

  Yep. Yeah, incredible.

  It was great to see the three. Raptors startup was goes good to
• 22:10
  know, that that's something that can actually happen.

  Yeah. Yeah.

  And and it was, it was interesting to see the Use three

  of them to slow the ship down, instead of to the Assumption was
• 22:20
