- 0:02If we view the vast array of methods recommended by spiritual
- 0:05paths with the world, we find that many of them utilize
- 0:09various forms of mental, focus or concentration in order to
- 0:14achieve specific results along the way.
- 0:18Tibetan yoga for instance as intensive visualization
- 0:22techniques, along with concentrations of various sorts
- 0:27and meditation. Many paths recommend use of
- 0:30various prayers or mantras formulated in the mind to guide,
- 0:35the awareness in the proper direction.
- 0:38A large number of paths recommend reading and
- 0:41contemplation on the truths set forth in their respective
- 0:44scriptural texts. We can deduce from this review
- 0:49that harnessing the power of the Mind in the spiritual Quest can
- 0:54be of extreme value and importance for the Seeker along
- 0:59the way, the Kano punish odd reminds us.
- 1:03However, that the power of the mind is not in and of itself.
- 1:08Sufficient to experience and fully comprehend the reality and
- 1:13truth of existence. There is yet a power and then
- 1:18experience of that power that lies beyond the mind.
- 1:23Just as it is a positive force at certain stages of the
- 1:26spiritual practice. The mind can become an obstacle
- 1:30itself. When it tries to assert, its
- 1:33ignorant to limit or deny the spiritual truths, the being
- 1:37experiences. But there are also more subtle
- 1:41concerns about the influence of the mind for which the Seeker
- 1:45Must Be watchful the mindset and attitude with which one
- 1:50approaches. Anything as a distinct influence
- 1:53on how things are perceived. Our mind tend to fill in data
- 1:59and interpretations in any event or experience Thus, we
- 2:06substitute mental calculation and predispositions for an
- 2:11actual understanding of the deeper reality.
- 2:15The mother observes quote. What I mean is that every
- 2:20definite mental formation, always gives a particular
- 2:24coloring to the experience. As for example, with all people
- 2:29brought up in a certain religion, their experiences will
- 2:33always be colored by this religion.
- 2:36And in fact, to reach the very source of the thing, one must
- 2:40free oneself from the external formation.
- 2:44But there is a kind of reading which awakens in you and
- 2:47interest in the thing and can help you in the first speakings.
- 2:52Usually, even if one has had experiences when need to contact
- 2:57a thought or idea with the thing so that the effort may be
- 3:02crystallized more consciously, but the more one knows, the more
- 3:08one must be absolutely sincere in this experience that is he
- 3:13must not use. Use the formative power of his
- 3:16mind to imagine. And so create the experience in
- 3:20himself from the point of view of orientation.
- 3:24It can be useful but from the point of view of the experience,
- 3:29it takes away from it. It's Dynamic value.
- 3:33It has not the intensity of an experience which comes because
- 3:37the moral and spiritual conditions necessary for it to
- 3:41occur have been fulfilled. There is the whole mental
- 3:46conditioning, which is added and which takes away something of
- 3:50the spontaneity. All this is a matter of
- 3:54proportion. Each one must find the exact
- 3:58amount. He needs how much of reading.
- 4:01How much meditation, how much concentration, how much it is
