K-9 Ellie Mae, the beloved bloodhound from Grant County, Indiana, is safely home after a tense, week-long search through rural terrain. Missing since late July, she was likely startled by gunfire or loud noise and ran off — but never posed a threat as she’s a tracking dog, not an attack dog. Found Friday at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church northwest of Marion, her return was made possible by relentless efforts from officers, drone teams, community helpers, and even prayer.
