- 0:02Speaker 1: So that it wasn't Marga's glider parked outside the motel
- 0:06Speaker 1: five years ago. I'm getting out of this marriage while
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm still young and handsome. Oh forever. I couldn't even
- 0:19Speaker 1: keep a promise. I made you a tree.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Four Finger Discounted.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Welcome to four Finger discount where this week we are going.
- 0:42Speaker 2: To review the worst flashback ever. I'm Dano and I
- 0:47Speaker 2: am guy is working to our shock jock talk block.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Where we are we're talking about dangerous curves.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I would rather run through the top five hundred funniest
- 0:56Speaker 3: sounds of all time and review this episode.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'd rather do that any way. That sounded great?
- 1:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, but you need to have that. What's
- 1:06Speaker 3: the one used to that's the greatest sound of all time?
- 1:10Speaker 2: It has to be right. What's more iconic that the
- 1:14Speaker 2: slide was?
- 1:15Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, slide whistle? That just snickles defeat.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Sad trombone or warm or the what's the bankrupt sound?
- 1:24Speaker 2: For? It was a family feud. Do you know when
- 1:27Speaker 2: a family feuder that sounds like the start of Netflix.
- 1:30Speaker 2: That's the doom doom. See this is why Dando was
- 1:34Speaker 2: a star of all things audio. I mean, you can
- 1:36Speaker 2: tell the difference between that doom and well, actually that's
- 1:41Speaker 2: not that hard.
- 1:41Speaker 3: From ten years of doing podcasting, fifteen years of radio
- 1:45Speaker 3: whatnot and editing my own sounds, I know what ms
- 1:49Speaker 3: and urs look like in audio form. I'm like, I
- 1:51Speaker 3: don't have to listen to. I'm just like, cut that out,
- 1:53Speaker 3: cut it out.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I just know you're like ciphering the matrix. You're not.
- 1:57Speaker 2: You've seen Blonde Brune and I do enjoy good steak
- 2:00Speaker 2: who does not? Yes, you know, as we always say,
- 2:04Speaker 2: justice for Joey Pants, he was one hundred percent right.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Oh yes, And in saying that, going to this episode,
- 2:09Speaker 3: you need to have ignorance because this episode.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm pretty much everything. Oh man, Yeah, that's true.
- 2:15Speaker 3: So before we get into it though, before we get
- 2:17Speaker 3: into some it's gonna be some not rants, but just bewilderment.
- 2:20Speaker 3: But this weekend, so you m seed work function for
- 2:24Speaker 3: your Lovely Louisa's father.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It is the Lovely Louisa's Father's company. Yes, so he
- 2:30Speaker 2: had had the Christmas party for it. It wasn't just
- 2:32Speaker 2: for humans, it's for me And yeah, I was politely
- 2:38Speaker 2: asked to emcee the event. Which year, there's not a
- 2:41Speaker 2: whole lot to it, but you get up and you're
- 2:42Speaker 2: sort of telling everybody to sit down and shut up,
- 2:44Speaker 2: and you know, toilets are over there. If you want
- 2:46Speaker 2: to vabe, go downstairs. Well it went fine, Yeah, went
- 2:49Speaker 2: very well. You know it's a good night.
- 2:50Speaker 3: You know you can start hosting this show. Then you
- 2:51Speaker 3: start doing the intro.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Welcome to fourthing a discount if you want a vape,
- 2:57Speaker 2: can go outside. Got to made fun off. Yes, I
- 3:02Speaker 2: took so I did that and it was great. Great.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I took the kids.
- 3:06Speaker 3: We may have mentioned it on the podcast in previous weeks,
- 3:08Speaker 3: but Nicola and I should say no, Nicola, I took
- 3:10Speaker 3: the kids to Melbourne, their first not ever staying in
- 3:13Speaker 3: a what we thought was gonna be a hotel with
- 3:14Speaker 3: Nicola in the beginning apartment. So it wasn't the hotel
- 3:16Speaker 3: because kids wanted room service and whatnot, so that didn't happen.
- 3:19Speaker 3: But we took them to see Home alone with the orchestra.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Okay, and it was great. This was the a movie up, Yes,
- 3:27Speaker 2: showing you the movie, but a live orchestra is playing
- 3:29Speaker 2: John Williams is fantastic music, yes, John Williams.
- 3:32Speaker 3: John Williams. Yeah, it's one of the sort of the
- 3:34Speaker 3: ones that people sort of forget. You think John Williams,
- 3:36Speaker 3: Jaw Star Wars.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Listen to it, it's like John Williams allover. Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And apparently the guy who was originally going to do
- 3:43Speaker 3: it wasn't John Williams. It was somebody else because the
- 3:45Speaker 3: conductor his name escapes me. He does all the conducting
- 3:48Speaker 3: for the Melbournsyphony Orchestra, but he was saying that the
- 3:51Speaker 3: original composer had to pull out because he had to
- 3:55Speaker 3: do this other project, this acclaimed classic called The Rescue
- 3:59Speaker 3: was down under. So John Williams was shown the original
- 4:03Speaker 3: sort of cut rough cut of the film and he goes,
- 4:05Speaker 3: I have to do this. So he did that and
- 4:07Speaker 3: just hearing the start because it starts off with the
- 4:09Speaker 3: dude and you're like, oh shit, it's like goosebumps when
- 4:12Speaker 3: you're hearing that live, you know. And the kids loved it.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Although we'll never be taking Holly to that again. She
- 4:17Speaker 3: just she was enjoying herself, but she just can't sit still. Yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 3: So that Holly's just one of those kids where she's
- 4:25Speaker 3: got to be doing stuff she wants to in her
- 4:28Speaker 3: pants and then we there's like have like a water
- 4:31Speaker 3: light show outspront of Crank Casino. Yes, it was more
- 4:34Speaker 3: interested in watching the cricket on the spots bar behind
- 4:36Speaker 3: us then watching the water show, because you know it's
- 4:38Speaker 3: Elliott and he loves his whats. And in the day
- 4:40Speaker 3: after we took them to the Jurassic World exhibition and
- 4:44Speaker 3: that was probably the almost the highlight for me. There
- 4:48Speaker 3: was at the end of it. You see it's cleverly done.
- 4:51Speaker 3: So they build like an actual animatronic t Rex like
- 4:53Speaker 3: the ones you're seeing the film. It looks legit, right,
- 4:55Speaker 3: but it's behind sort of this wire fence with danger
- 4:57Speaker 3: not go behind, so you can't see the wheel, so
- 4:59Speaker 3: it just looks like this TX is stomping and walking out.
- 5:02Speaker 3: And for about thirty seconds Elliott believed and seeing his eyes, he.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Looked at me and goes, is that really? I went,
- 5:08Speaker 2: of course it is. He goes what you see.
- 5:10Speaker 3: His eyes and I'm like, that's what it was like.
- 5:12Speaker 3: When I watched dressing part of the person goes, that's
- 5:14Speaker 3: all fake. That's a fucking dinosaur.
- 5:16Speaker 2: So I would I would have loved it if Elliot
- 5:19Speaker 2: would have had glasses on, and he sort of did
- 5:21Speaker 2: that pulls him off Samuil style.
- 5:24Speaker 3: But there's one point where he goes take a step
- 5:27Speaker 3: back there, take a step back because I was holding
- 5:28Speaker 3: him at the same time I got all on camerady
- 5:30Speaker 3: can hear and going, this is not going to end good.
- 5:33Speaker 3: He was in the moment made he believed the twenty
- 5:35Speaker 3: first it was a really good time. So yeah, so
- 5:39Speaker 3: then we had to watch Dangerous Curves. Now, we've been
- 5:42Speaker 3: saying up to this point now, we're not one of
- 5:43Speaker 3: those podcasts that just bashes every episode. I think we've
- 5:45Speaker 3: been overall, probably ninety five percent positive for the majority
- 5:48Speaker 3: of the episodes that come through.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I think we've been very When you say criticism, criticism
- 5:52Speaker 2: doesn't automatically mean that's bad. Criticism is critical thinking. It
- 5:56Speaker 2: means you're analyzing it. It means you're looking at what works
- 5:59Speaker 2: and what doesn't. It's not just like, oh, there's such
- 6:02Speaker 2: a critic so and people.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Who spack and say, well, these episodes aren't supposed to
- 6:06Speaker 3: be overly critique, they're just meant to be enjoyed.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It goes.
- 6:09Speaker 3: But that's what TV is. You make it to be critiqued.
- 6:11Speaker 3: That's what happens. That's what art is. Yes, yeah, you
- 6:15Speaker 3: can't make an episode and go oh, well, it's your
- 6:17Speaker 3: fault for thinking. You know, that's you should enjoy it,
- 6:20Speaker 3: don't overthink it. It's just meant to exist.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That's certainly one attitude you can take. Yeah, it's maybe
- 6:25Speaker 2: not the best attitude you can take, but it's an
- 6:27Speaker 2: attitude you can take.
- 6:28Speaker 3: If you ignorance is bliss, that's you know that by power?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, and there's Look, there are certain shows that
- 6:33Speaker 2: don't necessarily reward deeper analysis or that kind of critical thinking.
- 6:37Speaker 2: There just let them wash over you. And look, I've
- 6:41Speaker 2: got those shows and mother, no, no, don't for you've
- 6:43Speaker 2: got those shows in your life. We all have those
- 6:46Speaker 2: shows in our lives.
- 6:46Speaker 3: But The Simpsons has built that core respect though from
- 6:50Speaker 3: it from an audience of what now, twenty years of
- 6:53Speaker 3: season twenty, where you can't just all of a sudden
- 6:55Speaker 3: go oh.
- 6:56Speaker 2: This is just one of the show's supposed to know.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I don't forget and just ignore like you can do ken, Yes,
- 7:00Speaker 2: but you should, but you don't. It's reputation. Isn't that
- 7:04Speaker 2: the reputation precedes it and that you don't stick around
- 7:07Speaker 2: for as long as it's in. Is that if you
- 7:08Speaker 2: don't have a little substance to go with the style.
- 7:11Speaker 2: So you know, I think it's something we should do,
- 7:14Speaker 2: is like pick apart what works and what doesn't because
- 7:16Speaker 2: it's hit highs sometimes that it's hit lows, and you know,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you wonder why that's the case. Why does this work
- 7:23Speaker 2: and this doesn't. That's why you're tuning in. We hope.
- 7:25Speaker 3: The thing is with these flashback episodes, though, is that
- 7:29Speaker 3: the main critique usually is the continuity. People that's ninety shows.
- 7:32Speaker 3: A lot of people hate it because it's how it
- 7:33Speaker 3: doesn't make sense right. We've been able to watch those
- 7:35Speaker 3: episodes in a vacuum. Even if you're watching this one
- 7:38Speaker 3: in a vacuum. The issue isn't the continuity. For me,
- 7:40Speaker 3: it's just how hateful and negative and pessimistic, and it's
- 7:45Speaker 3: just this episode had pretty much the majority of every
- 7:49Speaker 3: element of what I despise about this era of the
- 7:51Speaker 3: Simpsons is the only thing the writers know when you're
- 7:54Speaker 3: doing a flashback is Marginhomer have a fight and it
- 7:56Speaker 3: nearly break up. That's every flashback. Now, every flashback is that.
- 8:01Speaker 2: It's never really about the joys of first meeting and
- 8:05Speaker 2: the you know, the spark of that first.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Game, it was Yeah, but from the team You're onwards. No,
- 8:11Speaker 3: it's always just they even that ninety show It's Marriaging Crisis,
- 8:15Speaker 3: it's always that they always end up fucking other people
- 8:17Speaker 3: nearly and you're.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Thinking, yeah, now, I've only seen this movie. It's an
- 8:22Speaker 2: older movie based on Yeah, I saw it once, maybe
- 8:26Speaker 2: in my late teens or early twenties, movie called Two
- 8:29Speaker 2: from the Road from the late sixties starrying Albert Finny
- 8:32Speaker 2: and Audrey Hepburn and a score from this mix of
- 8:34Speaker 2: the score from the film, Yeah, and my recollection of
- 8:38Speaker 2: But it's a little bit hazy, but you know, from
- 8:39Speaker 2: my understanding, it's it looks at the service like a
- 8:43Speaker 2: bit of a rom colm a bit I'll be like, oh,
- 8:44Speaker 2: look at these two good looking people to get together.
- 8:47Speaker 2: But it also shows I wait a minute, they can
- 8:50Speaker 2: really get on each other's nerves. Oh maybe it's not
- 8:52Speaker 2: meant to be. You know, the good times going going
- 8:56Speaker 2: hand in hand with the bad times. That's what a
- 8:57Speaker 2: relationship said, that's what a marriage is, all that kind
- 9:00Speaker 2: of stuff, And I get the feeling the well the
- 9:02Speaker 2: SIMS is definitely trying to emulate that here. I mean,
- 9:04Speaker 2: they do so with the with the soundtrack, I think
- 9:06Speaker 2: certainly with the end shot all that kind of business.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Because you look at the endhoine like, what's all this
- 9:09Speaker 2: about it? I was like, I was so confused. Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 2: going about it in this fashion, they just sort of
- 9:15Speaker 2: get it all wrong. There's one or two elements in
- 9:18Speaker 2: this episode that I'm like, if you'd taken this bit
- 9:20Speaker 2: out and use that as the seed from which this
- 9:22Speaker 2: episode would sprout, possibly, but otherwise, no, You're right, it's
- 9:25Speaker 2: completely it's very cynical, it's very even Barton means all
- 9:30Speaker 2: of that stuff. So these are the elements that I
- 9:31Speaker 2: despise about. You know, you're in for a shit episode
- 9:34Speaker 2: when Barton Lisa are the same person. So Lisa is
- 9:38Speaker 2: usually I felt Lisa.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Has been not written all that well later, right, but
- 9:42Speaker 3: Barton Lisa just are both the same shitty kid. Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah. The whole sing songy bit was really really annoying.
- 9:50Speaker 2: We recently did our episode of Speaking of the Hill
- 9:53Speaker 2: where I've let me find.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Out I remember Mono, I remember Mono. Same story.
- 9:59Speaker 2: It's basically the same story in that if you're lucky
- 10:02Speaker 2: enough to a fan love and sort of a love
- 10:04Speaker 2: that's lasted a little bit a while you've got your
- 10:06Speaker 2: story about how you met, it becomes like your script.
- 10:09Speaker 3: You add things, you take things away, but you're on
- 10:11Speaker 3: the same wavelength.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And you know when you meet new Bill, like,
- 10:14Speaker 2: so how did you two meet? You instantly sort of
- 10:16Speaker 2: go into that spill if somewhere along though it you
- 10:19Speaker 2: along the line you realize, oh, wait a minute, oh
- 10:21Speaker 2: it didn't quite happen like that, or you know, new
- 10:23Speaker 2: bits get added to it when someone else reveals, oh, well,
- 10:25Speaker 2: you know that night, I was actually on two dates,
- 10:28Speaker 2: and you know, the first one didn't work out at all,
- 10:29Speaker 2: but then I rendered to you, Oh it all worked out,
- 10:31Speaker 2: like you didn't tell me went on a date with
- 10:33Speaker 2: someone else beforehand or whatever. It takes the magic away
- 10:37Speaker 2: from it, it does. Yeah, but so I remember Mono
- 10:41Speaker 2: from from King of the Hill.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Which is available on our Patreon right now or Sticking
- 10:44Speaker 3: the Hill episode reviews.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, a very sweet episode. I mean I thought it
- 10:48Speaker 2: would pretty well. I think we were worth on the
- 10:49Speaker 2: same page. We quite enjoyed it. Yes, yeah, this episode
- 10:53Speaker 2: does much the same thing and completely fucks it up.
- 10:56Speaker 3: In that episode, right, Hank felt so guilty. Right, even
- 11:00Speaker 3: Hank never really done anything all that wrong in that episode,
- 11:03Speaker 3: he felt so guilty, and he spent the rest of
- 11:05Speaker 3: the episode trying to win her love back here Home
- 11:08Speaker 3: is just as angry at her, saying, oh, you know
- 11:11Speaker 3: this is I've just got here right. Any episode that
- 11:14Speaker 3: has either March or Home or both in the present
- 11:18Speaker 3: day because they do it in the past, it was
- 11:20Speaker 3: in the present day saying the words I wish I'd
- 11:22Speaker 3: never met you. Forget it, forget it, yeah, just forget it, mate.
- 11:27Speaker 2: But I think one of the great things about doing
- 11:29Speaker 2: the shows that we do on the four finger disc
- 11:31Speaker 2: in network is that it shows that there are only
- 11:34Speaker 2: so many stories that can be told. Really, there's only
- 11:36Speaker 2: like seven ways to build a house. But how you
- 11:38Speaker 2: decorate the house or how you build extensions on the
- 11:41Speaker 2: house is therein lies. The genius King of the Hill
- 11:44Speaker 2: did it very very well. Simpsons did not do it
- 11:47Speaker 2: very very well with it's just adding just cliche.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Hank Isaria character cliche, trustpect Neil character, characters who they
- 11:54Speaker 3: only name in passing. They don't introduces, it's just random people.
- 11:57Speaker 3: So why was that going for for mart for Homer,
- 12:00Speaker 3: you know, and why was all of a sudden he's
- 12:02Speaker 3: just taking much give me a break. And the thing
- 12:05Speaker 3: is right you mentioned earlier about that having the story right,
- 12:08Speaker 3: Why would either of Homer or Marge think that that's
- 12:11Speaker 3: a magical story to tell the kids twenty five it's
- 12:14Speaker 3: twenty five years previously, five years from now, when they
- 12:17Speaker 3: both knew that they're both almost embed with somebody else. Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 3: they're both they were both lying. This makes no sense.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, taking the two from the Two of the Road
- 12:27Speaker 2: sort of template and trying to map it onto the
- 12:29Speaker 2: Simpsons the way they did here. I don't know. It
- 12:31Speaker 2: was just all fucked up. But then yeah, because none
- 12:33Speaker 2: of it made sense, and mostly none of it made
- 12:35Speaker 2: sense logistically. It was just and I don't oha goes,
- 12:38Speaker 2: I wish you were March. What do you mean? What
- 12:41Speaker 2: do you mean? You were just saying you wish you'd
- 12:44Speaker 2: ever met her. I don't know what is going on. Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 2: it's you just told Marge to fuck off because this
- 12:49Speaker 2: person's more fun. You're doing limbo wheather.
- 12:51Speaker 3: You're saying, oh, March, I don't need you anymore, and
- 12:53Speaker 3: then all of a sudden he's like, oh you know
- 12:55Speaker 3: what I need March, don't try No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 12:59Speaker 3: and then he's saying, stupid march she does this, does that,
- 13:03Speaker 3: and then he sees the carving in the tree.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Oh, I've got to save our marriage. What the are
- 13:09Speaker 2: we doing here? He's so angry, he's knocking it on.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I'm just I just watched this.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I was I have not been this angry, I think
- 13:15Speaker 3: at an episode since the one where Home I left
- 13:17Speaker 3: Marge in the driver's seat. This was that was despicable.
- 13:20Speaker 3: This just was all kinds of just ship riding ship jokes.
- 13:25Speaker 3: What is Flanders now just a crazy psycho Christian.
- 13:27Speaker 2: There's a don't even get me started on Flanders and
- 13:30Speaker 2: this this was this was weird.
- 13:32Speaker 3: This was just fucking ridiculous, And all Flanders is now
- 13:36Speaker 3: is just stupid one liners like the elephants said to
- 13:38Speaker 3: this or whatever, like everything has a ship.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Crossing off my favorite bits under the elephant.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Then what I'm trying to say, though the lines might
- 13:46Speaker 3: be funny, right there, has funny equips, but every single
- 13:49Speaker 3: thing he does.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Now is just that wow is this this? Say about this?
- 13:53Speaker 3: And then but then the whole We're gonna spend our
- 13:55Speaker 3: wedding night trying to fuck up these other couple get
- 13:57Speaker 3: the water pistol. Ready, we know Lock putting a bear
- 14:00Speaker 3: trap outside the door. What are we doing here?
- 14:02Speaker 2: I have no idea. I've got no idea.
- 14:03Speaker 3: What he finds it sexy that Maud's wearing her dead
- 14:06Speaker 3: grandmother's pjs.
- 14:08Speaker 2: What is happening? Yeah, I mean, what the hell is happening?
- 14:11Speaker 2: The pj's thing is kind of funny in and of itself.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I mean, the fact that it's like button up is
- 14:15Speaker 2: the fact that it's her dead drammas. Okay, that's that's odd,
- 14:19Speaker 2: that's uncalled for.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I don't even understand how you write what how does
- 14:24Speaker 3: that enter your mind and go that's a funny line.
- 14:27Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense.
- 14:28Speaker 3: And what confuses me is this was written by am
- 14:30Speaker 3: Maxtone Graham, who it looks like after So they wrote
- 14:34Speaker 3: twenty four minutes, which I loved, almost my favorite episode
- 14:38Speaker 3: of the season. Right, was that season eighteen? Maybe nineteen
- 14:41Speaker 3: might have been last year, so I think twenty seven.
- 14:44Speaker 3: It must have been nineteen, right, So you read it
- 14:46Speaker 3: with Billy Kimball, right, and they won the Any Award
- 14:48Speaker 3: for Best Writing, and then they go from that to this.
- 14:51Speaker 3: This just felt like two guys looked up. They were
- 14:54Speaker 3: both in their fifties when they wrote this. This felt
- 14:56Speaker 3: like an episode that was written by two guys who
- 14:58Speaker 3: had been made for twenty five years. They're going through
- 15:01Speaker 3: like they It felt like these guys around happy in
- 15:04Speaker 3: their marriage.
- 15:05Speaker 2: And airing their dirty laundry in through this. Oh god,
- 15:09Speaker 2: this was shit. I don't hate the idea of two
- 15:15Speaker 2: seducers falling for each other. Like I forgot the names
- 15:17Speaker 2: of the characters in the Alberto and Sylvia and Sylvia.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I kind of liked the idea of those two clearly
- 15:25Speaker 2: players falling from one another and finding Kindred's player. I
- 15:30Speaker 2: don't know, but who is Sylvia? But the fact that
- 15:32Speaker 2: they're the other person or you know, the the third
- 15:37Speaker 2: not the third wheel, but yeah, the the random element
- 15:40Speaker 2: that could break up the marriage that we know no
- 15:43Speaker 2: one love in the span Yeah, the spanner in the works,
- 15:45Speaker 2: that's right. I like the idea that they they met
- 15:48Speaker 2: each other and like, oh, we're very very happy now.
- 15:50Speaker 2: If I was writing this, if I was Ian Maxtone Graham,
- 15:53Speaker 2: I would have home in margin the kids going to like,
- 15:57Speaker 2: come on, kids, We're off to the lake where we
- 15:58Speaker 2: spent our like our first honeymoon or our first our
- 16:01Speaker 2: first holiday away as a couple, and it's when we're
- 16:04Speaker 2: still getting to know each other. And oh, sometimes when
- 16:07Speaker 2: you meet someone you everything's going great and then you
- 16:09Speaker 2: just cover Oh, wait a minute, there's one thing that
- 16:10Speaker 2: I don't like about them. Does this mean we're not
- 16:12Speaker 2: meant to be together? And while they're at the lake
- 16:14Speaker 2: that first time five years earlier or whatever, they meet
- 16:17Speaker 2: Alberto and Sylvia.
- 16:18Speaker 3: It wasn't the first time. That's what I supposed to visit.
- 16:21Speaker 3: There's there's the twenty years prior, yeah, which is the
- 16:24Speaker 3: timelines fucked up. So it's twenty years prior right where
- 16:27Speaker 3: they were there with Flanders, and Flanders is trying to
- 16:29Speaker 3: prevent them from falling in love, right, but from having sex.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Then it's so all this shit with Alberto and Sylvia
- 16:35Speaker 3: and all that is after they've had the kids, After
- 16:39Speaker 3: they've had the kids.
- 16:40Speaker 2: That's why I'm trying to rewrite. That is what made
- 16:44Speaker 2: me the angriest.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I went, wait a minute, all everything, all the foundations
- 16:49Speaker 3: of this show of margin Homer's relationship. They've had Bart,
- 16:52Speaker 3: they've had Lisa, and they're willing to throw it all
- 16:55Speaker 3: away because they had an argument in the car.
- 16:58Speaker 2: What on earth? Is this shit? Also? How was the
- 17:01Speaker 2: room to pick up pick up bit in that car?
- 17:04Speaker 3: No room forgetting This episode is just the fucking dirt worst.
- 17:09Speaker 2: It was so shit. This is top five fucking worst
- 17:11Speaker 2: things I've ever watched for The Simpsons. It sucked, man,
- 17:14Speaker 2: it sucked well, and from another point of view, it
- 17:18Speaker 2: just seemed to take forever as well. Like I thought, Oh,
- 17:22Speaker 2: this is about to wrap up. Look at the there's
- 17:25Speaker 2: got another seven or eight minutes ago. How much more
- 17:27Speaker 2: story than it fit in here? This is garbage.
- 17:29Speaker 3: It was just Homer and March having an argument again
- 17:32Speaker 3: literally say noids, I never want I wish I'd never
- 17:35Speaker 3: met you, and all of a sudden going actually, I'd
- 17:37Speaker 3: change your one because we need to have an emotional ending.
- 17:41Speaker 2: This was shit. This sucked, This was This was shit.
- 17:44Speaker 3: And having said that, the one continuity issue, though, one
- 17:46Speaker 3: continuity issue if you want to bring up cotton neuit issues,
- 17:49Speaker 3: is that this had to be treated.
- 17:51Speaker 2: As non canon.
- 17:51Speaker 3: You know why because in episode Dan Eat Lisa's fair
- 17:55Speaker 3: to word, one of my favorite episodes of all time
- 17:57Speaker 3: and absolutely iconic episode right, which is where Maggie says
- 18:02Speaker 3: Daddy for the first time. Right, The Simpsons moving next
- 18:05Speaker 3: door to the Flanders, and the Fanners introduced themselves by saying, hey, neighbor,
- 18:09Speaker 3: is great to have you in the neighborhood. And that's
- 18:12Speaker 3: how they meet.
- 18:14Speaker 2: So this episode is just shit shit, I tell you,
- 18:20Speaker 2: it's shipped on multiple Can.
- 18:23Speaker 3: We fuck off with the every flashback now has to go.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Everyone already knew each other. Oh, the Flanners picked up
- 18:27Speaker 3: the Simpsons.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Fuck off, fuck off with that in mind hands favorite moments,
- 18:35Speaker 2: my favorite.
- 18:36Speaker 3: There was a couple of funny lines. I didn't mind
- 18:39Speaker 3: the two of breasts. No, we're going to a lake,
- 18:41Speaker 3: We're they were driving with the Flanders's right and the kids.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Stuff I thought was funny at first, and then I
- 18:46Speaker 3: just cared, going, that's it.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I like some of Flanders's quip says. I pointed out
- 18:52Speaker 2: earlier that whole everything's a fucking quicker, everything's equipped. But yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 2: most of them weren't funny. These two were all right.
- 18:58Speaker 2: The whole toss. As the Elephants said to the eleven keeper,
- 19:01Speaker 2: tosso is in my trunk? Not bad? And also it
- 19:04Speaker 2: looked like you two were a couple runnings over. It's
- 19:06Speaker 2: all right, it's not bad.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I'm also someone's so said about this, so like someone
- 19:10Speaker 3: so the fu off, Cathlin.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Is just be a normal person again, what is going on?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Patty and or s Elma saying just shouting insults at
- 19:20Speaker 2: Homer from the backseat, was.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Like, I just like, your neck looks like a sideways
- 19:24Speaker 3: as I thought you might like that. This is a
- 19:26Speaker 3: guy gaga.
- 19:29Speaker 2: There are occasions when the back of my neck looks
- 19:31Speaker 2: like that. But also yeah, I mean I remember watching
- 19:33Speaker 2: some reality show with the With the Love of Louise
- 19:36Speaker 2: and Young Felix, and there was some guy like that.
- 19:39Speaker 2: We just spent the rest of like half hour just
- 19:41Speaker 2: going we get to see the back of that guy's.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Because what a lovely memory. It sounds like you and Louise,
- 19:51Speaker 3: the foundation of your relationship is sitting back and judging
- 19:53Speaker 3: other people. Absolutely, it sounds like your relationship.
- 19:56Speaker 2: That's all right.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I feel like she doesn't. She's actually friends of all
- 20:01Speaker 3: these people. She just become became friends of them, so
- 20:03Speaker 3: invited to these parties. You go to sit back and
- 20:04Speaker 3: go chick at these fucking idiots. They think they're so
- 20:07Speaker 3: high and mighty. Check it out, that guy's neck look
- 20:09Speaker 3: like that, As.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I said, my seed for this idea would have been, Yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 2: Alberto and Sylvia being at the lake, both heads would
- 20:23Speaker 2: have been turned that we've already had this episode in
- 20:25Speaker 2: many ways anyway, but if we have to have it,
- 20:28Speaker 2: to have it like that. So I'd like the idea
- 20:30Speaker 2: that Alberta and Sylvia ended up together and doesn't seem
- 20:32Speaker 2: quite happy. Good on them. And also, this was just
- 20:36Speaker 2: a flashback to my youth because it doesn't really occur,
- 20:39Speaker 2: it doesn't really exist anymore. But the Women We Love
- 20:41Speaker 2: issue of Esquire was really a thing that it was
- 20:44Speaker 2: an annual issue of Esquy magazine, which is a mega
- 20:46Speaker 2: still read. So yeah, quote unquote men's maggots.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Actually, I've just realized, so it doesn't make sense. Ruthie
- 20:54Speaker 3: the daughter, right, yeah.
- 20:55Speaker 2: How old was she? Oh gosh, I don't know. Yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 2: what you because she didn't look that young? Right you? Five?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Did she know she looked older than that? Well, she
- 21:07Speaker 2: looks sort of bart Lisa age.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Which didn't she but then he met five years prior
- 21:12Speaker 3: another reason I hate this episode, and which means she
- 21:14Speaker 3: couldn't ever had a kid for at least another nine
- 21:16Speaker 3: months to say a year, which means she's at most four.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Maybe she's precocious. Yeah, away, I want to give a
- 21:23Speaker 2: shout out to the Women we Love episode. Yeah. Even
- 21:27Speaker 2: for a while there was quite objective objectifying. What was
- 21:30Speaker 2: the women we Love is? It was kind of like,
- 21:32Speaker 2: check out, That'scyle Johansson or something like that. So what
- 21:34Speaker 2: are we talking about? The Women we Love issue with Esquire?
- 21:36Speaker 2: I already mentioned it.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, now okay, Now because he says something,
- 21:41Speaker 3: I was like, wait a minute, I trade it from it.
- 21:44Speaker 2: You continue, Yes, it actually then started going. The way
- 21:47Speaker 2: that it's presented in this issue was like women have
- 21:49Speaker 2: actually accomplished stuff. I guess we love them too, but
- 21:56Speaker 2: they don't even have that anymore.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Now it's just pictures of belts, esquid. I've never read
- 22:01Speaker 3: an Esquire in my life. I just say, Bill Esquire,
- 22:04Speaker 3: Bill s pres.
- 22:07Speaker 2: It's good mag Well it used to be a good meg.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Actually no, it's it's still quite good. It does mag
- 22:12Speaker 2: mag magazine.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I know I'm being it's a joke because magazines don't
- 22:15Speaker 3: exist anymore.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Oh okay, I thought you were. I was so angry.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Then you're making fun of my old time, My old time.
- 22:22Speaker 2: He's slaying what is this demonry?
- 22:25Speaker 1: Next? Question.
- 22:26Speaker 2: You there eating the paste, all right? Trivia time, Trevia time.
- 22:30Speaker 3: My first question for you is how long did Alberto
- 22:33Speaker 3: apparently not talk That's actually I didn't mind that gag
- 22:35Speaker 3: as well. How long did he not talk to Marge
- 22:37Speaker 3: between saying I take you for a ride or should
- 22:40Speaker 3: I say glide? And then it was like I'm glad,
- 22:42Speaker 3: I'm just glad you' speaking again because I didn't say
- 22:44Speaker 3: anything between that moment.
- 22:45Speaker 2: That's a good question. I might have been getting a
- 22:47Speaker 2: drink of water when that happened. Did you what you
- 22:49Speaker 2: walked away from the screen. Yeah?
- 22:50Speaker 3: Probably halfway through the episodes, You're just like, I don't
- 22:54Speaker 3: know where we're up to. Forty five minutes.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Forty five minutes. Okay, speaking of Alberto in Marge, the
- 23:02Speaker 2: dress that he presents for it has what kind of
- 23:04Speaker 2: hem ah?
- 23:07Speaker 3: No, I was gonna write all that stuff, and I went,
- 23:08Speaker 3: this episode doesn't deserve this much detail.
- 23:10Speaker 2: What was it? It's a wolverine.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Wolverine this I knew it was something Marvel character of
- 23:14Speaker 3: some kind. Unless she's wearing pumps as well. What is
- 23:17Speaker 3: Ned and Maud's code names?
- 23:20Speaker 2: Okay, he is mustache see mostage one. Yep, she is
- 23:25Speaker 2: Red Dog a dog? Yeah? That was one of my
- 23:28Speaker 2: questions to you, Red Dog. The relationship is so weird.
- 23:31Speaker 2: This episode was just weird, right record. One of the
- 23:36Speaker 2: biggest stricken from the record is one of like notes
- 23:41Speaker 2: that I've written here Forbatim. What's it there with these Flanders?
- 23:45Speaker 2: Why are you letting Flanders call the shots? Dude? What's
- 23:48Speaker 2: the deal with this episode? This episode has a bad attitude. Yeah,
- 23:51Speaker 2: but mainly the Flanders stuff. I mean that whole kind
- 23:54Speaker 2: of what you just gotta arrived from these people, and
- 23:57Speaker 2: now you're letting them sort of dictate your level of affection.
- 24:00Speaker 2: What's your partner? It doesn't make any sense. Yeah, I mean,
- 24:03Speaker 2: maybe tell this guy to fuck off. Yeah, everybody just
- 24:05Speaker 2: get out of the car. Yeah, maybe just go somewhere else,
- 24:09Speaker 2: which they do. Then things get worse. Don'nlike dangerous curves?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Terrible episode? Do I have one more question for you?
- 24:16Speaker 2: According to there are many love messages carved onto the tree?
- 24:20Speaker 2: What does disco stew love?
- 24:21Speaker 5: Oh?
- 24:22Speaker 3: I didn't notice disco, that's notice Flanders And.
- 24:25Speaker 2: No, what is it disco? Disco? Still on disco? Who
- 24:28Speaker 2: loves disco? Not bad?
- 24:30Speaker 3: I find a question for you is how much does
- 24:31Speaker 3: Lisa take in advance? Ten ten dollars is correct?
- 24:37Speaker 2: One more question if you want to go for it. Okay,
- 24:39Speaker 2: then in the file that Patty and Selma are keeping
- 24:42Speaker 2: on Homer, can you name uh three of the category
- 24:46Speaker 2: there are four? It's it was you tools there, but
- 24:49Speaker 2: they're all use it was up to's uncle Colin common monkeys,
- 24:55Speaker 2: unclean and ugly.
- 24:56Speaker 3: As ugly, as ugly as bro exactly as where we
- 25:00Speaker 3: used to say like it's full as exactly as cheap
- 25:03Speaker 3: as cheap az.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gone. Go the way of the word mag
- 25:11Speaker 2: She used to be my playground.

- 29:16Speaker 3: So the original air of Dangerous Curves was November ninth,
- 29:20Speaker 3: two thousand and eight.
- 29:22Speaker 2: A day that will live in infamy. M the day
- 29:26Speaker 2: the music died.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Kab F one eight is the production code written by
- 29:31Speaker 3: as we said, Billy Kimball and Ian Maxto and Graham,
- 29:34Speaker 3: directed by Matthew Fahn. Now what I did like was
- 29:37Speaker 3: Maurice slamash again guest stars, Miss Maurice appearing so much
- 29:40Speaker 3: more than I realized. Correct, here's the voice of all
- 29:42Speaker 3: the various serial characters, and he's actually the voice of
- 29:45Speaker 3: too Cansam in real life. Wow, wherever they've got in
- 29:47Speaker 3: two Cansam, They're like, can you do any of the others?
- 29:49Speaker 2: What is milk? Maurice for always worth? And then we'll
- 29:52Speaker 2: kill them. Yeah.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Chopboard gag is I did not see teacher siphoning gas
- 29:58Speaker 3: and the couch gag is the family is a of
- 30:00Speaker 3: wooden figures that come out of a set of cuckoo
- 30:02Speaker 3: clock cuckoo clocks.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Don't really see cuckoo clocks anymore?
- 30:05Speaker 3: Do you really see clocks anymore? Everyone's got what's the time?
- 30:10Speaker 2: Who like you?
- 30:11Speaker 3: But anyone who's under the age of thirty? What's the
- 30:13Speaker 3: time you get your phone out? And even I'm coming into.
- 30:17Speaker 2: The twenty first century with a smart watch?
- 30:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but even still telling you under thirty they can
- 30:21Speaker 3: be wearing a smart watch. You say, what's the time
- 30:23Speaker 3: they pull their phone out?
- 30:25Speaker 2: Kids? These days?
- 30:27Speaker 3: And the excuse the pull we how often do you
- 30:29Speaker 3: think I've done this before myself? Before you had to
- 30:32Speaker 3: watch whatever? You always wear a watch, But I pulled
- 30:35Speaker 3: my phone out to check the time and then do
- 30:37Speaker 3: a bunch of other shit, but don't actually check the time.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Ah yeah, It's like you get the phone in hand
- 30:41Speaker 3: and go, oh, okay, we've got to do something. Oh
- 30:43Speaker 3: better check X. One thing I did better move over
- 30:47Speaker 3: to Blue Skirt when we were away with the kids
- 30:49Speaker 3: was I turned my phone off from like three o'clock
- 30:53Speaker 3: onwards and it was just three.
- 30:55Speaker 2: To off or on silent off. Wow, I just want
- 30:59Speaker 2: to pretty ballsing.
- 31:00Speaker 3: I thought, if someone's get in contact with it, No,
- 31:02Speaker 3: Nicholas here, and it blew me away.
- 31:05Speaker 2: How often I was going to reach for my pocket.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Without even well, I wasn't been thinking in my head,
- 31:09Speaker 3: oh okay, we're going to check Facebook.
- 31:11Speaker 2: It was just I just reached for my pocket all
- 31:13Speaker 2: the time, and I'm going, oh, yeah, even you have alone,
- 31:16Speaker 2: I went, what do you reaching for your fame for?
- 31:18Speaker 2: You're at the movies? Be present? Yeah, be present? And
- 31:20Speaker 2: it was just great just being in the moment. Yeah,
- 31:23Speaker 2: you're a human being in the year twenty twenty four.
- 31:25Speaker 2: I am, indeed. But the episode kicks off. It is
- 31:27Speaker 2: the fourth of July weekend. They're all stuck in the
- 31:30Speaker 2: traffic and Billa Mahdi on the radio going through the
- 31:34Speaker 2: top five hundred wacky sound effects.
- 31:36Speaker 3: They played variousund effects I've already discussed. Bart has chewing
- 31:39Speaker 3: gum in his ears to block out the sound and
- 31:41Speaker 3: pulls it out and pulls out like bones with it.
- 31:43Speaker 2: I don't know what that was. Was that like part
- 31:44Speaker 2: of his brain or something. It just seems so I
- 31:46Speaker 2: wasn't weird and off putting.
- 31:48Speaker 3: It wasn't brain because the pink was a chewing gum,
- 31:50Speaker 3: but his ear.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Drums or something, I don't know. I hated, why are
- 31:53Speaker 2: we doing like this? This is a dreadful way to
- 31:55Speaker 2: start the episode and just set it off on the
- 31:57Speaker 2: wrong tone. I did not like it.
- 31:59Speaker 3: You knew from the very minute, first minute of this episode,
- 32:02Speaker 3: I knew this is gonna be shit. You can just tell,
- 32:04Speaker 3: you can just tell when it's gonna be Oh, it's
- 32:06Speaker 3: one of those versions of it's what again, it's fifty
- 32:09Speaker 3: year olds, right, and nothing als fifty year olds, mister Davis.
- 32:12Speaker 3: But seriously, this felt like a show that was written
- 32:15Speaker 3: an episode that was written by someone who didn't. These
- 32:17Speaker 3: guys wrote some episodes during well Emas and Graham wrote
- 32:20Speaker 3: episodes during the Golden Era towards the end of the
- 32:22Speaker 3: Golden Era, but this Billy Kimber guy didn't. But still
- 32:26Speaker 3: he wrote twenty four minutes, maybe because he had the
- 32:31Speaker 3: license of twenty four to sort of work from, but
- 32:34Speaker 3: trying to write an original story here fucking suck. And
- 32:36Speaker 3: like this kind of joke with the pulling the bones
- 32:38Speaker 3: out of his ear. It's what I always go on about,
- 32:40Speaker 3: how they make mister Burns this ridiculous, unrealistic character. Now
- 32:44Speaker 3: where things can blow up inside him and he's internal
- 32:47Speaker 3: organs he pulled out and put back inside of him.
- 32:48Speaker 2: It's just it's so stupid. It's just it's just that
- 32:51Speaker 2: shit for riching and scratching. Yeah, exactly.
- 32:53Speaker 3: So Marginal suggests they pick up the hitchhikers, which felt
- 32:56Speaker 3: feels like the most unmarginal thing ever.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, Homer is the an impulsive one.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Marg Like I said from the very first minute, you go,
- 33:04Speaker 3: this is written by someone who doesn't understand the characters
- 33:06Speaker 3: or it doesn't care.
- 33:08Speaker 2: As you've said about about how is she is, like,
- 33:11Speaker 2: they're not riding specifically for characters anmore, they're riding jokes
- 33:14Speaker 2: and slotting in exactly.
- 33:15Speaker 3: And that's exactly what this episode was. It was all
- 33:17Speaker 3: these zingers that were just applied to whoever was in
- 33:19Speaker 3: the scene at.
- 33:20Speaker 2: The moment quote unquote singers.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Yes, so then we get the whole you said they
- 33:24Speaker 3: were drug crazed thrill seekers. No, they're thrill crazed drug
- 33:26Speaker 3: seekers whatever. And it turns out to be the Squeaky
- 33:29Speaker 3: Voice teen and his new girlfriend Beatrice. Right, you know,
- 33:32Speaker 3: it's nice see Squeaky Voice team actually has a girlfriend now,
- 33:35Speaker 3: and who's well, bat my Beobb's average with Beatrice you.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Marge then says that you know that was once them.
- 33:41Speaker 3: They're switching in the back seat.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Bubbah blah.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Harmers has knock it off, and it gets cut to
- 33:44Speaker 3: twenty years earlier, and it's margin Homer riding their bikes,
- 33:47Speaker 3: and like I said, I normally really enjoyed the flashback episodes,
- 33:51Speaker 3: and he suggests this new thing called biking out. March's
- 33:53Speaker 3: bit hesitant about it. They make March very gullible in
- 33:56Speaker 3: these modern day flashback ones.
- 33:57Speaker 2: It's about to say you had that home, he had
- 33:59Speaker 2: that coming home again, dumba. How old? How old are
- 34:02Speaker 2: they here? It was like, oh, I'm not too sure
- 34:03Speaker 2: about biking out, you fucking teenagers, Well that's your yeah,
- 34:08Speaker 2: the twenties. I'm assuming by this point, twenty years prior.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I think we're going to be going to muddy. This
- 34:17Speaker 2: is going to be like that line that I always
- 34:19Speaker 2: say from Luper. It's like, let's not try to explain
- 34:21Speaker 2: time travel here, because we're just gonna end up making
- 34:23Speaker 2: diagrounds out of straws and making each other mad. Yeah, no,
- 34:26Speaker 2: forget about it. It's just okay, Well, now we're back
- 34:28Speaker 2: in time. Now we don't try to talk about continue
- 34:31Speaker 2: or anything like that. They fucked it up. We shouldn't
- 34:33Speaker 2: be paying any attention, so let's just run through it.
- 34:35Speaker 3: He crashes in the mud, and the Flanders then pick
- 34:37Speaker 3: them up.
- 34:38Speaker 5: Hey names dad Flanders. As the elephant said to the
- 34:41Speaker 5: peanut vendor passos in my trunk.
- 34:43Speaker 2: March, I loved this guy. But are there muddy buddy?
- 34:47Speaker 1: He rhymes, O happy day.
- 34:50Speaker 3: I feel like this is all just so they can
- 34:51Speaker 3: have the joke of Homer actually liked Flanders at one
- 34:54Speaker 3: point in time. He says, you know, and he rhymes, oh,
- 34:57Speaker 3: happy days, and then he's surprised it bicycling the driving
- 35:01Speaker 3: with the Flanders. Now, yes, and Flanner's is a surprised
- 35:03Speaker 3: our bicycling to her breast considering they're unmarried. They're not married.
- 35:07Speaker 3: And again here there's one thing. More says something. She goes,
- 35:11Speaker 3: I think I like this, whatever he is. I think
- 35:13Speaker 3: I'd like to finish my sentence first. And I thought, oh, yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 3: it's like that's why I wrote what's to deal with
- 35:17Speaker 3: these Flanders?
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yes? So yeah, why does he have I don't know, man,
- 35:24Speaker 2: this was written by this It's so confusing because em
- 35:28Speaker 2: Max dain Graham wrote the Larry Burns episode. Yeah right,
- 35:31Speaker 2: he wrote like Trash of the Titans, so later Golden
- 35:33Speaker 2: Nearer episodes, but ones that I really enjoy what is
- 35:36Speaker 2: going on here, Yeah, because I mean, for all Flanders's faults,
- 35:39Speaker 2: and I mean we've seen that he can have volcanic
- 35:41Speaker 2: rage that does come.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Up occasionally, but he tries to suppress it most of
- 35:44Speaker 3: the time.
- 35:44Speaker 2: That's why when it comes up, he usually comes up
- 35:46Speaker 2: for a very good reason. Yes, it's like, hey, Ned,
- 35:49Speaker 2: we built you a house that you know, yeah, but
- 35:52Speaker 2: you did a shit job of it, and you're expecting
- 35:54Speaker 2: me to pat you on the back fo you know.
- 35:56Speaker 2: And also a lot of bad shit has happened to
- 35:58Speaker 2: me before then.
- 35:58Speaker 3: And his question is face he dedicated his life to
- 36:00Speaker 3: God and he's the only house.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Where this is kind of like, oh, the Flanders are
- 36:04Speaker 2: as miserable in their marriage as everyone else. Yeah, it's like,
- 36:07Speaker 2: first of all, I don't think everyone else is miserable
- 36:09Speaker 2: in marriage. Maybe you are, Ian Max Darone Graham. Sorry,
- 36:12Speaker 2: So that's what I felt like. They didn't We're not
- 36:15Speaker 2: you know, we're not casting any aspersions or that's just
- 36:18Speaker 2: what you're right, across. Yeah, yeah, So don't throw the
- 36:22Speaker 2: Flanders into that. They've got their faults. Absolutely, they can
- 36:25Speaker 2: be self righteous and sort of. Yeah, I think it's
- 36:27Speaker 2: goody goody to a fault is the thing.
- 36:28Speaker 3: But it's even unhappy that they got married that day,
- 36:31Speaker 3: So I.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Don't know it. So, like I said, what's the deal
- 36:36Speaker 2: with these Flanders?
- 36:38Speaker 3: So they're saying that this is their honeymoon, and Homer says, oh, well,
- 36:42Speaker 3: they're clearly not happy. Will you not marry me, Marge?
- 36:44Speaker 3: I will happily not marry you whatever whatever. Yeah, you
- 36:49Speaker 3: casts to the present time. Home is now angry at
- 36:51Speaker 3: the squeaky voice Teaen and Beach just kissing. He says,
- 36:54Speaker 3: you no, knock it off, and it's a similar flashback.
- 36:56Speaker 3: We'll get through the episode. It tells, but to look away,
- 36:59Speaker 3: don't look at what's going and make sure you just
- 37:00Speaker 3: keep focusing on your game boy. It's two thousand and eight, guys,
- 37:04Speaker 3: what to make game boys for? Would you ever switch Bay?
- 37:06Speaker 2: Then? I don't know. I'd never game Boy was what
- 37:09Speaker 2: I have when I was a kid, and I grew
- 37:10Speaker 2: up in the nineties, right, a game Boy in the nineties.
- 37:12Speaker 3: But you know what it is this is apologies fifty
- 37:15Speaker 3: year old man writing, what are the kids playing these days?
- 37:18Speaker 2: Game boys? Well, surely you've got a younger person on staff.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I mean I don't think they do. That's the problem.
- 37:24Speaker 2: But they would now but they didn't, then would you'd
- 37:26Speaker 2: be thinking that, I say, a show like a product
- 37:30Speaker 2: like the Simpsons would surely have and you will surely
- 37:33Speaker 2: be able to afford like at least one person on
- 37:36Speaker 2: the staff who's like, update this reference.
- 37:39Speaker 3: No, you know why, because they would be the ones
- 37:42Speaker 3: constantly saying but that doesn't make sense because of this
- 37:44Speaker 3: Because they grew up watching the Simpsons. They didn't want
- 37:47Speaker 3: people questioning. Just fucking enjoy it.
- 37:50Speaker 2: That's that's it. But I'll just have someone if slash
- 37:55Speaker 2: when I haven't get my production coming up and running
- 37:57Speaker 2: and I'm making movies and TV shows, yeah, I would
- 37:59Speaker 2: have a young person designated young person on staff just
- 38:02Speaker 2: to say, yeah, your name dropping so and so when
- 38:06Speaker 2: I your name dropping Britney Spears when you really want
- 38:09Speaker 2: to say Charlie x X. By the time this epizidse
- 38:14Speaker 2: comes out, I'm telling you you may hear Sabrina Carpenter.
- 38:19Speaker 3: I'm telling you there are twelve twelve year olds out
- 38:22Speaker 3: there right top fifteenyear olds probably never who Britney spears
- 38:24Speaker 3: is oh, yeah, that's one, but that's legit.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Though that's not that's not of an a joke. I
- 38:28Speaker 2: would say, Oh, I need to write a joke about
- 38:30Speaker 2: the pop dos Britney spears, At which point someone says, no,
- 38:34Speaker 2: chapel rung. Guy writes an episode Homer checks has watched guy,
- 38:43Speaker 2: It doesn't check the wh Yes, but Whomer is actually
- 38:45Speaker 2: a member of the older generation, so he would therefore
- 38:47Speaker 2: have you're favored.
- 38:51Speaker 3: But then it's following up with this line of and
- 38:53Speaker 3: because he kills all the serial mascots video games, the
- 38:56Speaker 3: reason this generation is the best ever?
- 38:59Speaker 4: Never?
- 39:01Speaker 2: What does that ever mean?
- 39:03Speaker 3: Is this just some old guy, some old guys saying
- 39:05Speaker 3: it's meant to be a joke saying they're actually the
- 39:07Speaker 3: worst ever.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yeah, But then the way it's delivered is not plays
- 39:11Speaker 2: on video games. It's two thousand and eight.
- 39:13Speaker 3: By that point we had moved on from udo games
- 39:15Speaker 3: that the reason society is fucked, you know what I mean?
- 39:17Speaker 2: There were there were more specific reasons why people buy
- 39:21Speaker 2: white Society is fucked.
- 39:22Speaker 3: And then they drive past the suv superstore, which is
- 39:25Speaker 3: now going out of business. But we capt to the
- 39:26Speaker 3: pass and it's the grand opening. Paddy and Somemer. Where
- 39:30Speaker 3: were they driving Patty and Summer too? I missed that
- 39:33Speaker 3: in the back seat and they were just giving them
- 39:34Speaker 3: a ship.
- 39:35Speaker 2: And then they just threw them out.
- 39:35Speaker 3: But the thing is, so they are annoyed at Homo
- 39:38Speaker 3: for good reason because he pissed into the pool from
- 39:41Speaker 3: the diving board. Oh yeah, and this Homer is the
- 39:44Speaker 3: Homer who's only five years prior, so, like he's got
- 39:47Speaker 3: kids and he's pissing in the pool from the diving board.
- 39:50Speaker 3: He's thirty four years old.
- 39:54Speaker 2: I don't get it. I don't get it. This may
- 39:56Speaker 2: be the worst episode of a thing of the Simpsons
- 39:57Speaker 2: so far. And you know what, I don't want to
- 39:59Speaker 2: get it.
- 40:00Speaker 3: I was angry at that last one with the car,
- 40:03Speaker 3: but this one is just this one's a slap in
- 40:05Speaker 3: the face.
- 40:07Speaker 2: The face. Well, this is a bad combination of it's
- 40:10Speaker 2: got a bad attitude, but it's also got sloppy all
- 40:13Speaker 2: over the place storytelling. It's bad on an emotional level
- 40:16Speaker 2: and it's bout on a logistical level.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Yeah, this is this is the worst episode we've reviewed
- 40:20Speaker 3: on the show so far, it really is. It's fucking terrible.
- 40:23Speaker 3: You heard it here first faction. Yeah, it's really disappointing.
- 40:26Speaker 3: So he throws Patty and somewhere out because they're berating him,
- 40:29Speaker 3: and then Marge says, you should have done it because
- 40:32Speaker 3: they have the map.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Oh my, that was rude and short sighted. Pity.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I have this situation under control. The compass needle is pointing.
- 40:42Speaker 5: That's the FR gauge.
- 40:46Speaker 1: How many times do I have to say I'm sorry?
- 40:49Speaker 2: You haven't such a sorry?
- 40:50Speaker 1: You know, I was hoping a number. It might be zero.
- 40:53Speaker 2: I think the running out of petrol is taken from
- 40:55Speaker 2: two from the Road too, for the Road as well.
- 40:57Speaker 2: I think there are bits and pieces lifted from Two
- 40:59Speaker 2: for the Road all throughout this What a random fucking
- 41:02Speaker 2: episode of the movie. Well, that's the thing. It's it's
- 41:05Speaker 2: the reason I know about it way for these characters. No, No,
- 41:08Speaker 2: the reason I know about the movie it's in a
- 41:09Speaker 2: book called cult Movies. It's not necessarily one that's really
- 41:13Speaker 2: well known. I mean it's not like even from from
- 41:17Speaker 2: the period. It's kind of like, oh yeah, this is
- 41:19Speaker 2: kind of an oddity or a little it went under
- 41:21Speaker 2: a bit under the radar.
- 41:23Speaker 3: The problem is it doesn't feel obscure enough because we
- 41:26Speaker 3: talked about it when they did the Sopranos thing that time,
- 41:28Speaker 3: right when we go, oh, so how much just smothering
- 41:30Speaker 3: grandpa in the car?
- 41:31Speaker 2: What the hell's going on here? Oh?
- 41:33Speaker 3: We find it like, oh it was the Sopranos reference.
- 41:35Speaker 3: They didn't make that clear enough. Right here, it just
- 41:37Speaker 3: feels like this is just a mean spirited story. It
- 41:40Speaker 3: doesn't make you go, oh this this, this is oh,
- 41:42Speaker 3: this is different, this this, this, this is obviously referencing something.
- 41:45Speaker 3: You don't get that vibe watching this. You just think, oh,
- 41:47Speaker 3: these writers don't know how to write.
- 41:48Speaker 2: The characters, or they're just throwing in weird, mean ship
- 41:52Speaker 2: for the sake of it.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Yeah, And they arrive at this party for rich people.
- 41:56Speaker 3: I guess it is all the famous people were there.
- 41:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's I'm so well, Rainy Wolf, Cas Wilfcastle, Carusty,
- 42:04Speaker 3: Krusty was there.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I didn't say Krusty.
- 42:05Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure I saw him there. But they arrive
- 42:07Speaker 3: at this party and the guy at Alberto we find
- 42:08Speaker 3: his name is later on, invites the men, says there's
- 42:11Speaker 3: so much fun stuff to do, and Homas says it's
- 42:13Speaker 3: not state he for long mow because you know, I
- 42:16Speaker 3: don't want you to having a good time is not.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Something that we do.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Something along those lines, and then he complains that Marge's
- 42:21Speaker 3: boring later, despite the fact that he was the one
- 42:23Speaker 3: I didn't want to go into the party. So then
- 42:24Speaker 3: he's walking around with two drinks for me.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Oh good, two of your own.
- 42:30Speaker 2: You're a funny one that's strong.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Are you trying to get me drunk?
- 42:35Speaker 1: No, I'm trying to get meat drunk.
- 42:37Speaker 2: You know my horoscope said I need the man of
- 42:40Speaker 2: my dreams tonight.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Well, Horoscope would never lie to a pretty girl like you.
- 42:45Speaker 2: You are adorable. Are you alone?
- 42:49Speaker 1: I'm talking to you at this great party?
- 42:51Speaker 2: Well, then would you like to limbo?
- 42:53Speaker 1: You mean to dance or the place where on baptized
- 42:56Speaker 1: baby skull? Either way, I'm in.
- 42:58Speaker 2: I'm like, why are you flirting with? What's going on here? Yeah,
- 43:02Speaker 2: you're not drunk yet, I'm start You've got two kids
- 43:05Speaker 2: at home?
- 43:08Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 43:10Speaker 3: He's got two kids at home? He just starts flirting
- 43:12Speaker 3: with this girl.
- 43:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm looking at the plot of two for
- 43:16Speaker 2: the road plot. I'm gonna see if there's any sort
- 43:18Speaker 2: of no. I don't think there's no. No.
- 43:23Speaker 3: Is it joke just because the film is called two
- 43:25Speaker 3: for the Roads. Who he's got taken two drinks for
- 43:27Speaker 3: the road? Is that it's meant to be.
- 43:28Speaker 2: No, they're just on the road a lot in them.
- 43:31Speaker 2: But what I'm saying in this episode maybe if this
- 43:35Speaker 2: is a ship joke, nah, forget it. I'm not. I'm
- 43:38Speaker 2: not even gonna try.
- 43:39Speaker 3: But basically, she then asks Homer to go, limbo is
- 43:42Speaker 3: like the game or the place where I'm baptized babies?
- 43:44Speaker 4: Go?
- 43:45Speaker 3: I thought you guys are just not on today. Did
- 43:49Speaker 3: I hear that line?
- 43:50Speaker 2: I missed that one. That's terrible, some of them ship man.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Then Marge catches him doing the limbo with the with
- 43:58Speaker 3: the girl, and for good, you know what I mean,
- 44:00Speaker 3: Like he's not just like he's getting in closer. They're
- 44:03Speaker 3: looking all like lovingly in her eyes. But then he says,
- 44:06Speaker 3: you know what's good about her? She doesn't get jalous
- 44:08Speaker 3: when I talk to other women. You've got two kids
- 44:11Speaker 3: at home, get married to Marge. Let's just get through this,
- 44:16Speaker 3: she margins at falling in the pool. She gets out
- 44:19Speaker 3: and she sees Sylvia and Homer having a sushi fight.
- 44:23Speaker 3: They start forming a sushi fighting. Then she says, I
- 44:25Speaker 3: wish I'd never met you. And that's the end of
- 44:27Speaker 3: the first act. And I went, that is the worst
- 44:30Speaker 3: opening act two ways since this episode I have ever watched.
- 44:34Speaker 2: He's not happy, folks, I'm not happy.
- 44:36Speaker 3: We come back and they've dropping the squeaky voice teen
- 44:40Speaker 3: off at tongue kiss point and again we just have
- 44:43Speaker 3: to have a bit of narcissistic line here. She's going
- 44:45Speaker 3: to take you for a lot of money, and she
- 44:46Speaker 3: sort of looks like way and I'm thinking, first of all,
- 44:48Speaker 3: it's a squeaky voice team, he's a teenager.
- 44:50Speaker 2: What does he go? Do you know who this character is?
- 44:52Speaker 2: Ian Maxton and Graham, because up until this point he's
- 44:55Speaker 2: been the loser that works at the fast food restaurants.
- 44:58Speaker 2: What's she gonna take him for? Ranny Wolfcastle, that's the joke,
- 45:04Speaker 2: all the grease on his face? What the hell?
- 45:07Speaker 3: They arrive at Cozy Cabins. Again this line with bart Well,
- 45:11Speaker 3: who am I David Crockett? By the way, who's David Crockett?
- 45:14Speaker 3: That joke makes it doesn't make sense. It's stupid.
- 45:16Speaker 2: It's the kind of line you would give Chandler bing, Yes,
- 45:19Speaker 2: that's the Yeah. I don't think it's a bad line,
- 45:23Speaker 2: and it would only work because Matthew Perry is delivering it. Yes,
- 45:26Speaker 2: that's right.
- 45:27Speaker 3: Having again, this is as you were mentioning earlier, classic
- 45:30Speaker 3: example of I've written a joke, who can say it?
- 45:32Speaker 2: I would just give it the Bart. Yeah, why the
- 45:34Speaker 2: hell would Bart say this line? I have no idea.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Marge brings up the pedal car, Hey, this might be fun,
- 45:40Speaker 3: something different, and they say that's worse than I don't know. Basically,
- 45:44Speaker 3: they complain, But and Lisa both complains it's the worst
- 45:46Speaker 3: thing ever.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I don't want to do it.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Hope then promises to put one hundred dollars into their
- 45:49Speaker 3: college fund. Lisa wants to take ten dollars now, and
- 45:52Speaker 3: he says, I'll steal it back of Waltz.
- 45:53Speaker 2: You're sleeping. So everyone's just mean to each other.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Everyone's just shit, no one, everyone's horrible. No one likes
- 45:58Speaker 3: each other, no one wants to be around each other,
- 46:00Speaker 3: even the Flanders. Everyone in this episode is horrible to each.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Other, everybody in various ways. Yeah.
- 46:06Speaker 3: The kids then go because the're getting one hundred dollars
- 46:08Speaker 3: because they won't try and have fun. Let's to getting
- 46:10Speaker 3: paid for it. And we have a transition now to earlier.
- 46:13Speaker 5: Sorry, Homer, I'm afraid it's separate accommodations for you. Natly
- 46:17Speaker 5: words what I have urges. It's just your trouser devil talking.
- 46:22Speaker 1: He's talking, he's yelling.
- 46:25Speaker 2: And as you were saying earlier, why were they listening
- 46:28Speaker 2: to this guy? Why? Yeah, why are they even staying there?
- 46:30Speaker 2: What's happening? Where were they going? It's they're riding their bikes. Yeah,
- 46:35Speaker 2: where were they going? I don't know, but it's like
- 46:37Speaker 2: why what what happened that their dad bikes break? How
- 46:40Speaker 2: hard is it?
- 46:41Speaker 4: Like?
- 46:41Speaker 2: Oh I felt like, oh my wallet has fallen off
- 46:44Speaker 2: this cliff or something. No, we got no money and
- 46:47Speaker 2: no where to get home. Why are they staying at
- 46:49Speaker 2: this time? We're reliant on the kindness of the Flanders.
- 46:53Speaker 2: But there are which are people's just met but said
- 46:56Speaker 2: he set up a bed chap outside of my door?
- 46:58Speaker 2: Should be I mean, you really have to do a
- 47:02Speaker 2: lot of reverse engineering to go. Okay, they've lost their money,
- 47:06Speaker 2: they've got nowhere to stay. They're reliant on the kindness
- 47:09Speaker 2: of these two people that they've just meant, who seem
- 47:11Speaker 2: really nice, but are rules so like imposing rules on them, Like, well,
- 47:16Speaker 2: you know, if we don't sort of played by their rules,
- 47:18Speaker 2: we're going to be out on the street. So I
- 47:19Speaker 2: guess we're gonna have to put up with this. But
- 47:21Speaker 2: it's like, it doesn't seem that way. I mean, I
- 47:23Speaker 2: think there could have been a way to make it
- 47:26Speaker 2: seem like, oh wow, it kind of sucks that they're
- 47:29Speaker 2: imposing these things on it, but we we have to
- 47:31Speaker 2: do it. We have to put up with it at
- 47:32Speaker 2: the time being at least, But we're sort of looking
- 47:34Speaker 2: at each other, what's going on here? What? It doesn't
- 47:36Speaker 2: seem that way. They don't do anything, No, it's just
- 47:39Speaker 2: this is happening. What's your catchphrase? It's just a bunch
- 47:43Speaker 2: of stuff that happens. So then we have one of
- 47:47Speaker 2: my many catch rocks.
- 47:48Speaker 3: So up until this point, we've had Flanders and Maud,
- 47:51Speaker 3: Flanners in particular more so berating Homer and Marge but
- 47:55Speaker 3: wanting to have sex before marriage. Right, so now's their
- 47:58Speaker 3: wedding night. Is this apparently the first time.
- 48:00Speaker 2: That Flanners and Moretar getting it on would have seen
- 48:03Speaker 2: that way. It doesn't make sense.
- 48:04Speaker 3: You know why, because she puts on the dead grandma's
- 48:06Speaker 3: pjs and he goes, well, you know that always gets me.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Going, Yeah, how else you seeing them before? If he's
- 48:10Speaker 2: that devout, shouldn't be anywhere near their droom or pajamas.
- 48:14Speaker 3: So they've fucked in the past, have they? And this
- 48:16Speaker 3: the first time shouldn't So more's never had sex before.
- 48:19Speaker 3: What's going on?
- 48:21Speaker 2: I don't want to think about this. This episode sucks. Sucks,
- 48:25Speaker 2: it sucks. It sucks. The dead grammar.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I didn't mind doing the button up, but the more
- 48:29Speaker 3: you think about it goes, this doesn't make sense to
- 48:30Speaker 3: their wedding night.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Why do you have to make this their wedding night?
- 48:32Speaker 2: Well yeah, I mean I don't have to be their
- 48:34Speaker 2: wedding night. You don't have the line of that dead
- 48:36Speaker 2: grandma's pajamas, just you know, have a little grandma's pajamas.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Have a bit of let's analyze this. No, let's not
- 48:43Speaker 2: just have a bit of just have that scene with
- 48:44Speaker 2: a bit of chow chick a battle wow. But then
- 48:47Speaker 2: she comes down and does it strikes a seductive pose
- 48:49Speaker 2: in the doorway, as we have seen on many A
- 48:51Speaker 2: sitcomers like oh theyse do about it again, except she's
- 48:54Speaker 2: wearing head to toe flannel pajamas. It's not an A
- 48:59Speaker 2: plus game, but it's a solid bee. Yeah, why does
- 49:02Speaker 2: it have to be the dead grandma's pjs? Did grandma's pjays?
- 49:06Speaker 2: Takes it there?
- 49:06Speaker 1: Or c minors?
- 49:07Speaker 2: So sus fucked up? So her dead? Her grandma was
- 49:10Speaker 2: just rocking the more body was she the pjs? Fido
- 49:15Speaker 2: don't anyway? Then we cut. It was all for it.
- 49:19Speaker 2: It was all for this fucking out of this world zo,
- 49:22Speaker 2: mister Davis.
- 49:24Speaker 1: I never should they'd say this, but stupid Flanders.

- 49:57Speaker 3: Patty and Summer recalling Marge.
- 49:58Speaker 2: I think we need to throw a little fault Billy Kimball.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Billy Kimble is a way, yeah, yeah, yeah. So Patty
- 50:03Speaker 3: and Selma they call Marge. They say, Homa's in that limbo.
- 50:07Speaker 3: We could say yes of up to something and good
- 50:10Speaker 3: for nothing, but I think Margin mentions here something. It's okay,
- 50:13Speaker 3: we're safe, We're being looked after by this nice Christian
- 50:15Speaker 3: family at the cabin that It's like, are you not
- 50:17Speaker 3: being had hostage in separate rooms? It's just ridiculous. So
- 50:21Speaker 3: it cuts to Homer and the woman laughing together in
- 50:24Speaker 3: the pool, I believe. So we now dropped forward fifteen years.
- 50:27Speaker 3: So it's like the timelines were confusing. But yeah, okay,
- 50:30Speaker 3: so now they're so Margin Homer of now this is
- 50:32Speaker 3: before they had kids. They've now had kids, butt or
- 50:35Speaker 3: Bart and Lisa. They're having a weekend away at the
- 50:37Speaker 3: cabin in which they met for the No, no, some
- 50:39Speaker 3: of them met for the first time.
- 50:41Speaker 2: I don't know. No, that was my ultimate version.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's where Flanders took them. So while they went
- 50:46Speaker 3: back to why, they went back to this place, I
- 50:48Speaker 3: don't know. Homer and the women are laughing in the pool.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Then Alberto finds Marge crying in the change rooms, and
- 50:54Speaker 3: he then gives her an outfit that he envisioned on
- 50:56Speaker 3: her at the moment she stepped through the door. I
- 50:59Speaker 3: guess the elaborate of the dress and the whole outfit
- 51:02Speaker 3: is meant to be the joke.
- 51:03Speaker 2: I still didn't laugh.
- 51:05Speaker 3: No, but he takes it for a ride, but it
- 51:08Speaker 3: changes a glide, and then she's just happy that you're
- 51:10Speaker 3: talking again. The sun is setting, and Sylvia here gives
- 51:14Speaker 3: Homer a pineapple and pepperoni pizza, says this, They just
- 51:17Speaker 3: keeps getting better and better, so he's just giving up
- 51:19Speaker 3: a much. This was the same reason I despised Marge's
- 51:22Speaker 3: character in that ninety show, where it was like, wait,
- 51:24Speaker 3: Homa's working two jobs for you, and he's throwing it
- 51:27Speaker 3: away because you're falling for your electra, right, you're just
- 51:29Speaker 3: throwing it all away. Here, It's just like they're both
- 51:32Speaker 3: doing the same thing. Homer's just throwing away his twenty
- 51:36Speaker 3: year marriage or fifteen he made to this point, who's
- 51:39Speaker 3: got two kids of this woman who does everything for him.
- 51:42Speaker 3: He's just throwing it away because this girl's got pizza.
- 51:44Speaker 3: They land the glider at the budget motel, which is
- 51:48Speaker 3: the Cozy Cabins, and Alberto says, first we're going to
- 51:51Speaker 3: make love. Then we'll decide if it's a good idea.
- 51:53Speaker 3: That's the European way. Just because you're having Marge occasionally
- 51:56Speaker 3: say well, I don't think this is a good idea
- 51:58Speaker 3: doesn't make it up for the fuck she still.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Would have gone through with it. Yeah. Look, there have
- 52:02Speaker 2: been many, many episodes of The Simpsons up until this
- 52:05Speaker 2: point that have had oh, my attention has been attracted
- 52:10Speaker 2: by some Yeah, someone else has caught my eye. But
- 52:13Speaker 2: I love my spouse. I believe in the sanctity of marriage.
- 52:16Speaker 2: I've got responsibilities and all that kind of stuff. But
- 52:18Speaker 2: still is the grass green On the other side. You know,
- 52:21Speaker 2: this Jack guy seems pretty nice. He's talking about brunch
- 52:25Speaker 2: or what or you know, oh lew Lane seems pretty sweet,
- 52:28Speaker 2: all that kind of business. But you never got the feeling.
- 52:31Speaker 2: It's like, oh, I can relate to this, because you know,
- 52:34Speaker 2: everyone in every relationship is kind of gone. I wonder
- 52:36Speaker 2: what would be like with something else, even if you
- 52:38Speaker 2: are madly in love and madly devote to your person.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Sometimes you're gonna think you have that sliding doors mom,
- 52:43Speaker 2: but you inevitably, if you're a right minded person, really
- 52:47Speaker 2: to the backst of the car with the woman for
- 52:48Speaker 2: ten minutes. She got to see it work.
- 52:51Speaker 3: One of the best. That's an all time of an ending.
- 52:53Speaker 3: When she rocks up to the Homer at work and
- 52:55Speaker 3: he thinks that Marge's left him for this shack guy
- 52:57Speaker 3: and she hasn't.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Makes you cry, yeah, absolutely, But this just makes you furious.
- 53:02Speaker 2: This just makes you like, what's going on?
- 53:06Speaker 3: Jacques planted seeds told a bowling home, but it was
- 53:09Speaker 3: it was set up with Homer doing the bowling ball,
- 53:10Speaker 3: you know that kind of thing.
- 53:12Speaker 2: This feels like they've got superficial problems and these are
- 53:15Speaker 2: superficial solutions. You know, there's no there's no stakes either way.
- 53:19Speaker 2: They seemed fine. I don't know.
- 53:21Speaker 3: They're arguing in the car, weren't they, Because so Paddy
- 53:24Speaker 3: and someone were in the car with them, and he
- 53:26Speaker 3: threw Patty and someone out, So I don't want to
- 53:28Speaker 3: go over now. So Homer and Sylvia arrive at the
- 53:31Speaker 3: hotel as well, so because why not convenience wise of
- 53:34Speaker 3: the story, and.
- 53:36Speaker 2: She and is what Homa says? I want you to
- 53:37Speaker 2: be margin and I thought, don't try and we don't
- 53:40Speaker 2: try this shit. The writing has been terrible up to
- 53:43Speaker 2: this point.
- 53:43Speaker 3: You can just all of a sudden have him go
- 53:44Speaker 3: oh what march No, no, no you Literally the last
- 53:47Speaker 3: time we saw Homer, he was saying this stay couldn't
- 53:49Speaker 3: get any better because of the final bles.
- 53:50Speaker 2: No not happening.
- 53:52Speaker 1: What are you doing here? The same thing going here?
- 53:56Speaker 1: You better not be I mean great. We both care
- 54:00Speaker 1: to rekindle our precious memories of when we were young
- 54:03Speaker 1: and in love. Right we sure did we kindle?
- 54:06Speaker 2: We kindle? Okay, let's come.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Oh, I have a better ide yet, let's spend a
- 54:11Speaker 1: nature Is it right here?
- 54:16Speaker 2: But I don't want to sleep in the same one
- 54:18Speaker 2: with that chest.
- 54:19Speaker 1: I feel the same way about that lamp.
- 54:22Speaker 3: You see Sylvia looking for him outside the door, so
- 54:24Speaker 3: he pulls in the blinds. Then Alberto's hiding in the chest.
- 54:27Speaker 3: He drags the chest outside, throws silvia in there as well,
- 54:31Speaker 3: puts a cement block on top, and that's how they meet. Yeah,
- 54:35Speaker 3: looks for his flasks. Don't stop twistings. She's obviously grabbing
- 54:38Speaker 3: his penis question here. Grandpa then interrupts horm romage here
- 54:41Speaker 3: with the kids and I sweet over them or falling asleep. However,
- 54:44Speaker 3: how did Grandpa know where they were?
- 54:46Speaker 2: I don't know. That has been to unravel this episode, man,
- 54:50Speaker 2: I mean, I know that's why we're here. But at
- 54:51Speaker 2: the same time, that's that's another logic hole right, oh
- 54:54Speaker 2: very much so they were taking they didn't know that.
- 54:57Speaker 2: We're going to know that. No, so how to Grandpa
- 54:59Speaker 2: just walking ba them.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Let's spend the rest of the note making sweet sweet Kude,
- 55:07Speaker 1: I'm true baby, Sydney monste good night.
- 55:12Speaker 2: We won He's just sleep you will stay up forever.
- 55:20Speaker 3: Homer suggests they go for a lake side snuggle. That's
- 55:23Speaker 3: a real time in. Homer suggestsing, we go for a
- 55:24Speaker 3: lake side boggle, and then he even holds up the
- 55:26Speaker 3: game just in case you don't know what boggle is
- 55:29Speaker 3: now emails Own Graham and Billy Kimball Right righters of
- 55:31Speaker 3: this episode have written a gag here with have gone
- 55:34Speaker 3: kids at home? I don't know what boggle is. If
- 55:36Speaker 3: that's the case, don't write it or leave the joke in,
- 55:42Speaker 3: and they could be a joke for the adults don't.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Then go Just in case you don't know what bugle is.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Homads pulls out.
- 55:48Speaker 3: A game of boggle, like it's the explaining the jokes
- 55:51Speaker 3: that you've always mentioned that I don't like terrible, but
- 55:55Speaker 3: march is before we do it? There we should we
- 55:56Speaker 3: should unpack everything. Everything unravels and falls on Homery gets trapped.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Why have I got all that ship in saying that
- 56:02Speaker 3: though packed for a one night? And I said, at
- 56:05Speaker 3: one point into Nikola. So she we get to the
- 56:07Speaker 3: car and she races back to wait a minute, and
- 56:10Speaker 3: she goes back and she spoils another dress. I was like, Nicola,
- 56:12Speaker 3: we are going for one day. I'll tell you this
- 56:14Speaker 3: is the girl, the woman who packed like over a
- 56:17Speaker 3: kilo of undies.
- 56:19Speaker 2: And ship when we went to England. I was like,
- 56:21Speaker 2: how did Why are you taking a pair of hondeyes
- 56:23Speaker 2: for two weeks? We're going for three weeks. Pack five pairs,
- 56:26Speaker 2: five pairs Monday, Tuesday, wednes Thursday, Friday. You wash them
- 56:29Speaker 2: throughout the week. You're done. You don't need fifteen pairs
- 56:32Speaker 2: of undies. I like the idea of having many pairs
- 56:36Speaker 2: of bundies, not.
- 56:38Speaker 3: A quillo's worth. Maybe Undy Saints overs. All right, are
- 56:46Speaker 3: you an over undergo the Delhi nine hundred?
- 56:49Speaker 2: Look, you'll take under. I always prefer over.
- 56:52Speaker 3: Well, if I see they're struggling, I'm fine. If I
- 56:56Speaker 3: see that it, don't give a fuck about the Joel.
- 56:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna make you earn this. I asked for five
- 57:00Speaker 3: hundred grams, You're going to give me five hundred grams.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a really tough one. It's not really that tough,
- 57:07Speaker 2: but yeah, I'm wondering what my over under is if
- 57:12Speaker 2: I'm ordering a give me a kilo of whatever? Oh
- 57:15Speaker 2: like minced chicken, Okay, something like that, chicken, minch What
- 57:20Speaker 2: do you cook mins chicken? What do you cook with
- 57:22Speaker 2: mince chicken? Actually really nice, sort of Asian ey dish,
- 57:27Speaker 2: mince chicken with glass noodles, tomato, tomato and lettuce, and
- 57:30Speaker 2: you put a bit of a garlic ginger soy sauce.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Chili changes. Soon we start talking about food much more positive.
- 57:39Speaker 2: You put all that in the in your fry pan,
- 57:42Speaker 2: cook it up nicely.
- 57:43Speaker 3: But if listeners at home, we haven't got the cameras
- 57:45Speaker 3: on at the moment, Guy acts the frying up and
- 57:48Speaker 3: it adds to the.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Vision we're watching with the Jamie Oliver recently. Yes, you
- 57:54Speaker 2: would like that guy. Stick stick to cooking, Jamie, don't
- 57:59Speaker 2: writ books, move on, continue, Yes, you cooking it up?
- 58:03Speaker 2: Finding it up? Oh that's chicken. If I want a kilo,
- 58:06Speaker 2: I'm wondering if I think not. Yeah, if it was
- 58:08Speaker 2: under nine hundred, if they gave me nine hundred grams,
- 58:11Speaker 2: I'm like, say nine what if the recipe said a
- 58:15Speaker 2: killer set me five? All right, I'm like no, I know, no, no,
- 58:19Speaker 2: bit more? And then they then you get nine to thirty.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Then you get a kill on thirty like, oh yeah, okay, sure.
- 58:25Speaker 2: If they put it in a bit more is like,
- 58:27Speaker 2: that's nine forty five, I'm like, fie mate, I'll take it,
- 58:32Speaker 2: I'll take it. Yeah.
- 58:34Speaker 3: You should never feel bad about the daily because if
- 58:36Speaker 3: you work in the Dali I wasn't there for five
- 58:38Speaker 3: six years, it becomes instinct to get someone's I want
- 58:41Speaker 3: five hundred grams of ham.
- 58:42Speaker 2: You know how much gund it's pretty You can get
- 58:45Speaker 2: a pretty good grass. You what your muscle memory for? Yeah? Yeah,
- 58:47Speaker 2: And if you're sucking up twice, then what are you doing? Well?
- 58:51Speaker 2: You're back to second hurl. Where's pale faced guy. You
- 58:54Speaker 2: know what to do? Where's the pale guy, He'll know
- 58:57Speaker 2: what to do. Pale guy? What a hero? Pale guy.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Pale face, pale guy not as his face, he's over pale.
- 59:08Speaker 3: I saw him yesterday. I was like, you're just you're
- 59:10Speaker 3: very comforting. Oh yeah, the right hand in.
- 59:13Speaker 2: An uncertain world. It's good to have a constant. Him
- 59:16Speaker 2: and that weird mask kid who wed maskid. Well, he's
- 59:20Speaker 2: always wearing he's still wearing that. Oh yes, and he's
- 59:23Speaker 2: he looks like the odd Yeah, we've mentioned him before.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Probably a very sweet kid. Yeah. People, skills are lacking.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Lacking, non existence. He looks at you as if to say,
- 59:37Speaker 3: why are you here? Why just put your your shopping
- 59:39Speaker 3: on the on this? This what you called conveyor? You
- 59:42Speaker 3: would bag it?
- 59:45Speaker 2: Where am I do I have toudge it? How are you?
- 59:48Speaker 3: I guess guy yesterday he talked, how are you today? Well,
- 59:53Speaker 3: this guy yesterday, he's only like sixty cities in year ten.
- 59:56Speaker 3: He talked my ear off, not wally get a young guy.
- 59:59Speaker 3: All they want to do is just I hate it.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: He was like, how's your weekend? I was like, oh good,
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: I guess did you get.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Up too much.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: I'm like, he really want to know. I was like, okay,
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: well took the kids and see home alone. And he goes, oh, yeah,
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: I went to one of those. I went to or
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: to see the Lion King and I was like, this
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: kid's gonna end up running the shade. And I was like,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: I was like, okay, cool, and then I'm talking and
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: then he goes, yeah, have my exams last week and
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: he was like what yeah, year town. I'm like, mate,
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: don't worry about it. I was like, if I can
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: give you one bit of advice, you're eleven next year.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Don't let them make you think that it's important. None
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: of that shit goes towards end of score just he
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: goes yeah, if you people have told me that. He goes, yeah,
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: I'm gonna take that approach, you guy. I'm gonna try,
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: but I won't stressed when I get a good score.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I'm like, this guy's got the right idea.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: This kid sounds great. Yeah, where was this the strand
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: or worse? I was like, and he was just like
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: the lot.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: He goes, I'm bit happy today because my team, the
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Grizzlies and the NBA they beat the Sellings.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: On Saturdays, mind you. He goes, oh, sorry about that,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: and I'm just like, this guy's not my best friend. Now, Okay,
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: we're trying to make this a regular segment, so let's
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: just cut to the chase. What a lord, Yeah, what
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: a lord. I should have got his name. That kid
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: from the Strand year ten at the Strand warwors you
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: ten to cashier at the Wooly Strand. This is my
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Strand story from the weekend. Okay, we'll do anything to
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: divert away from dangerous curves. Are you aware of politician
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Richard Marles, thee long guy. He may for Geelong.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: You always see him out the front. I vote at
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: north Shore Primary Schools where I went to school. It's
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: just I have a place where I always always go
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: to that place. Yeah, folks in Australia, we have to
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: vote and it makes sense to do so anyway, so
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: we go there. But he's always at the front with
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: his Gelong scarf on, like handing at things, and I'm like,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: this is out and.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: About with the people. He's a deputy PM. He's the
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: deputy Prime Minister. Shit, really he is too, You're right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: I mean he's the second most powerful man in Australian
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: politics No One and Geelong and getting all these new stadiums.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: But he's also the Minister of Defense, so you know
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: you'll see him on the really okay, I believe so
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: I was giving him titles, but if not. Anyway, he's
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: handing mad like candy. But he was at the Strand
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: on Saturday morning. And there's a show on the ABC
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: here in Australia called Inside, just like a political panel show.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: They get a few journals on and a casual politician
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: and yeah, let'll be talking about that. Lou and I
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: tend to watch it a Saturday or a Sunday morning,
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: and you judge them. And guy's fucking neck looks like
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: a ass. He's fucking gay. But whenever Marlesy Richard Marles
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: is on, Lo's like, there's your boyfriend. Because I'm like,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: I'm like, I saw this guy speak. Although he was great,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: I'm not surprised he's doing as well he is in politics. Anyway,
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: he was there and I thought, look, I never do this,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: but he didn't. No, no, well, I never get I
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: never get selfies with anyone. But I thought, I thought,
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Louell thing, this is hilarious.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: I have to see this selfie. Where's your phone? I
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: was to say, yeah, what did he say? He said,
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: no problem at all.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: But then we just had a quick chat because I
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: said basically what I said to you was like, we
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: enjoy Insiders. I know that Spearsy, the host of the show,
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: occasionally puts your feet on the phone, but I think
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: you always do pretty well on it. And as we
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: were leaving, I said, it was good meet you. My
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: name's Guy Davis. Oh, guy, we know, well, yeah, we
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: know each other because we went to the same school,
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: but he was but he was a couple of years
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: above me, and I didn't really remember him from that.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: But we were on the same school bus, Davis, when
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: we were a little kids. No, there's more, when we
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: were all little kids. Yeah, you know when I was
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: like in primary school and I caught the bus to
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: go out to the school campus. But he was catching
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: it a bit earlier. But yeah, he was on the
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: same bat. He goes, oh, yeah, we'd catch it and
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: we'd go along Shannon Avenue and all this kind of stuff.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: So yeah, that's right, And he goes, yeah, and you
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: wrote for the advertising you wrote your memory. Oh I'm
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: a fan, which one, I went, oh, watch out, Louise,
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: the lovely Marshes moving in miles miles, isn't it. I
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: look terrible picture, it's all squinty and it was in
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: a car park and everything. Yeah, yeah, that's awesome though.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: But then I had to call Margaret Mary, who's very
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: much I hate labor take this man, which was now
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: old lady. I random Marlsie at the Strand car. Oh,
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: that guy's gotta he's gonna get him kicked out of government.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Like that's no way to talk about my new best friend. Anyway.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: I don't know if any of this is going to
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: stay in, but yeah, I met Marlsie at the the Strand.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: It has to go in the Patreon group. It has to,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: all right, I'll put it. I'll put it in anyway.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: So that was the other thing that happened to me
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: on the weekend. And met up with the Deputy PM,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: who's a fan of yours truly. What the hell he's
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: a patrio Richard that Richard Marles the patron saying O
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: move over, kdy g And by the way, we give
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: that dip the PM money. We've got to do that.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: They live for our pals act. We do indeed, Yeah,
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: we kdy G said us another us only for you
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: to kJ we do up a Christmas car for kdy J.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: I mean she's already watched it, so have we not
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: reviewed that already Christmas Carol? I don't know. If we
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: have talked about it a bit.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: I'll be well into doing that. Speaking Muppets the Muppet
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: fan page up at History. Oh boy, let's not get
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: into it the how and why. But it's time for
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: talking muppets to take over. Maybe, Oh, just cut your
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: eyes on the prize I have that guy had his
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: eyes on the fighs. Yes, and as I say, fires
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: one of this guy's talking, he hadn't speaks them the
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: last forty five minutes.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: And we brought it back to dangerous curse.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: And that's the no no, you need to say the
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: catch phase because someone's gonna a shirt where he goes.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: We now return you to We now return you the
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: dangerous curtains already in progress. I can't tell if Dan
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: I was making fun of my No, I'm thinking of merchandise,
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: because we'll have one. We now return you too for
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: your discount. Already in progress. On the back says already
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: in progress there. That's great.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: I can't believe one of the most beautiful moments in
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: our marriage is based on wise.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: You're just as batters me and you used to be better,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: so that makes you worse. I don't think we could
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: ever trust each other again. Ruthie, kick me away from
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: this nightmare. I wish I'd never.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Met you home.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: It was worse because Homer was genuinely flirting margin sort
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: of She's more innocent in this situation, but she was
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: still going to fucking Yeah. There was no hit that
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: she was She was hesitant, but there was no sort
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: of hit there that she was going to leave had
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Homer not been there.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Yeah. If I was writing this episode and it was
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: like a filler episode for a I was like, Okay,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: we've we've got our A list episodes, We've got a
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: we've got guest stars guaranteed for these things. We need
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: three or four filler episodes. Here's what I would do
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: if I was writting this person. It wouldn't be about
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Home or Homermarge will be supporting characters in this. You
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: would have introductions to Alberto and to Sylvia. They're each
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: going to this lake resort. They've each got their own
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: stories that kind of thing, and they sort of have
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: a bit of a flirtation with this other couple that's there.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Turned out to be home very much and Homermarge is
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: supporting characters in this episode, and it turns out to
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: be a love the love story about Berto and Sylvia.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: That's what I'd do. It's probably terrible, but could.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: You could you do this story with a couple who
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: already exist in Springfield? I think that's kind of the
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: appeal to find Oh, you think it's more PERTI if
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: we don't know that, if you don't know them, if
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: you're like, wait, what's going on?
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: It?
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Maybe it's going to be very reliant on the writing
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: and the voice acting, but hopefully're gonna make these characters
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: interesting from the beginnings. You've got to be intrigued, like
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: who are they? Oh, but they're saying something funny or
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: doing something likable. Oh, I'm interested in because they're both
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: so bland. Yeah, I mean despite yeah, sort of no
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: substantute Hanks storring all the hot sauce you can on
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: this accent. It's trust me, trus Yea doing her sort
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: of sexy, fluty thing, which he does very very well.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Female lawyer having lots of sex. Yeah, but you don't really,
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: As I said before, there's no stakes you don't. You
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: never feel like I guess I got a ark is
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: like the default for Marge being potentially unfaithful. I'm sure
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: there's someone else who was it?
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: So there was Jacques the big one. Yeah, so early
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: on in the show there was someone else as she was.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not really a threat either, and it was.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: No.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: The thing is, though, Marge Homer relationship crisis stories in
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: flashback episodes, you know the ending. You can't buy into
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: any of it because you think there's no stakesy because
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: we know they end up together.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: I guess.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: I guess here though, it works into it its way
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: into present time because in the present time they find
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: out about the past. Still, speaking of the hill, did
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: this so much better nearly ten ten years prior?
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Sure did? They Sure did.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Indeed, If you're a fan of everything we do here

- 1:09:11Speaker 4: Excuse me, boys, my brother is lost and kind of
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: a jerk if he brought a map of the grounds
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: as I suggested, Lisa, do you know why I spend
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: every day after school and detention so I don't have
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: to come home to you? Oh?
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: Bart, don't say things you can't take back. That's outier,
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: deal with it.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Oh Craig, now you woke the baby.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I told you we should have left her with your mother.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: My god, Bart, what happened to us? We grew up again? Yeah?
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Look at this? Is this? Maybe what happened to us?
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: We grew up. It's meant to be.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: That's what happens in marriages, kids. You know, you get
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: married and eventually get sick of each other because you
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: just grow up.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Oh, actually, all you.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: Get fucking find someone that you actually enjoy, who you
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: want to be around. And yes, marriagers sometimes do fail,
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: but you know, that's not what all marriages are, and
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: they don't get to have this ending of the oh,
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: we're going to risk each other's lives.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: We love you so much. I miss you, Marge.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: When you've had all this bullshit set up, you can't then,
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: just in a genuine marriage, you don't say I wish I'd.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: Never met you. You can't cry, Yeah, you can't cry foul,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: you can't say shit like that. Ridiculous, ridiculous.
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: So now the Flanners and Homer back in the twenty
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: years probably they're having a chat over having their fishing,
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: and he suggests he takes March for a walk and
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: open up to her and talk about talk to her.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: And he goes, oh, I suppose you guys are going
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: to be there. Oh no, we wouldn't be there. It
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: cuts to Red Dog and Mustache One spying on them.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: She's got a water pistol, she's hiding in a tree.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: It's their honeymoon. She's going to squid him in the
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: deck if he tries to make it move on March.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: Why why why Flanders is Yeah, I mean, I'm not
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: saying it would redeem this episode. I don't think anything could,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: but yeah, having the Flanders learn a lessently, and this
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: is like, oh well, maybe we should just mind our
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: own business. This is the thing that's the last we
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: see of them. That's it. Yeah, I mean have the
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: flamers go, well, well, we live in our lives our way.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: But I guess you know to which their own.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Hope think is walking along and he this is now
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: five years prior. Obviously that twenty is prior, and he
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: carves the name into the tree. Cuts to real time,
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: and Homer's angry. He's walking through the forest the same place.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: Even says, here, I'm getting out of his marriage whilst
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: I'm still handsome. And then he sees the name of
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: the tree and he goes, oh much, what just said.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: I never want to see you again. I'm getting out
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: of this marriage. But because he sees the carving in
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: a tree, oh well, actually I'll take it all back,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: take it all back.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: So he tries to rip off the carving. Marge and
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: sees him trying to rip off the carving. I also
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: ripping off the carving. Didn't like it either, that.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Our marriage can weather any storm, just like this, What
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: the fuck do you mean?
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: He just said?
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: Does what to fuck off with this story? She pushes
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: the tree. Homo ends up falling over because he's holding
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: onto the bark. He's hanging over a canyon kind of thing,
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: hanging upside down under the tree. I'm explaining all this
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: because I'm gonna hope that none of you actually have
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: to sit through and watch his fucking episode. He's hanging
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: from the bark. We cut to park range again. Park rangers.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: We can't use that phone to save them, because that's
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: for fires. If the park ranger is a dicks in
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: his episode, everyone's horrible. This is everyon, this is a
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: zion Feld episode. So Homer says he wants to hold
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: onto the carving, and then we get this bullshit unearned
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: line from March. The base of a marriage isn't in
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: that tree, It's in it's within us.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, didn't you come. You can't
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: spend twenty something minutes hating each other. Yeah, hating each other,
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: wanting to spend contradicting, contradicting that one and expecting one
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: line to cure it all. No way.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: Then we get this wacky cartoon ish the tree marges
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: It's like a Lin Tunes cartoon. Margin falls, Homer catches
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: her and Homas says, don't worry. A lot of marriages
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: are based on lies, just like religion in American history,
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: zinging what a zinger Wow told them, Margin says, you know,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: we go through fights, we're just human, but at least
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: we love each other.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure about two minutes ago he said he
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: never wants to see you again. Like I said, you
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: have spent twenty something minutes making a really convincing case
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: that these people do not like one another.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, and then they end up falling and they land
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: just before the water home. It says, we just have
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: to wait for the river to freeze. The kids are
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: just in the pedal car in the river, arguing, threatens
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: to kill Lisa by saying, well, how about I give
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: you a shot? Cut to the bottom of this river
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: home Omage get in the back seat. They start kissing,
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: but says keep it g rated. Homas says, you have PG.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: Thirteen Adult situations. And then we get that fucking really
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: random So.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Is that from the movie.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: I'm guessing it must be. Yeah, fucking wanna be what
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: was that? It's this random shot of that's just a streak,
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: randomout thing, but everything's doubling up Homo, Marge with the bikes, Barton,
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Lisa in the pedal car Jeep so forming turning into
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: two cars and back into one car again.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Worst episode ever Wors episode two dates. Yes, yeah, the
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: worst episode so far. That was That was bad. That
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: was real bad. Dan I did not like this, nor
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: did I. I think Dan I disliked it more than
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: I did, but I did not like it, So Dan,
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: I really didn't like it. What do we learn, Bomber?
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: What'd you learn from the episode? Miss Davis?
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: That the women we love the issue of Esquine magazine
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: should be brought back. Yeah, yes, it's a way of
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: celebrating the wonderful women that we admire, appreciate, and dare
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: I say even love.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: I learned that you should never give a flashback episode
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: to Billy Kimball and Me, Max and Graham ever again, Man, you.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: Were a name we can trust, Billy Kimball, No, man, Buddy.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: Kimmle's a good name, though, Billy Kimble sounds like the
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: guy at school that everyone's friends with.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: Oh and Billy Kimber is a good guy. Billy Kimber,
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: Billy Kimball legend. From this day forward, your name will.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: Be it's the new Name Championship. The current leaderboard stands this.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: After four rounds, we have in first position. His name
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: is Jared on six points.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: We need to talk about something just very quickly, because
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: there was an issue regarding new names. His name is
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Jared and various things. Let me just go into my
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: DMS because Jared horn be slidd into by DMS. That's
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: sly Boots. I didn't. I initially replied to him, and
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: then I did not reply to him again. Jared, if
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: you're listening, of course you're listening. Sorry about that. But
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: here's the thing. My message from Jared reads as follows,
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: there's a conspiracy foot here. Davis, so and so I
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: got a point for something something one of my names.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Now this happens occasionally, because you know, a good name
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: is worth repeating. Sometimes you're going to get a bit
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: of crossover.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: The rule is that whoever does it first gets the point,
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: whereas Jared did it first for that particular name.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: Yes, but that's usually when it's just one name. With
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Treehouse of Horror, you've got three names. So in this case,
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: in particular, we're going to go with it's the collective.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: It's the collective plays to the single name.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: The collective, Jared, of the person that get at the
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: same m as you, they got the points because as
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: a collective guy thought that those ones were better.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: I'm sorry about that, Jed. I mean, this is not
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: a slighter reflection on you in any way. Plus two
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: out of three and then the other one. Yeah, you
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: know what I mean. So I hope they cleose it up,
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: and Jared's probably going to get three points this time around. Anyway,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: probably we'll find out because his name is Jared. Indeed,
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: he's good at the new names. One point goes to
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: flash back to the future. I like it.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: That is Adam Woolhouse. Who's now on two points. Well,
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: I'm Adam Woolhouse.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: Welcome to the Woolhouse. He's bringing us new names. How
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: about that I just came up with.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I think I think you've said it joke three times. Really,
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: you've definitely said welcome to the Warhouse.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: I know, Well, a good joke is worth repeating. He
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: said that joke about three times. You are the one
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: who was always say the line, guy, I would say
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: the line. I'm joking. I'm not making I don't know, man,
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: you want me to repeat lines by Michael Jordan. I
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: took it personally. Two points goes to by Fidelity. Oh
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: not bad.
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: Oh, Phil Hawkins is making a slight little comeback here.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Another two points there for Phil Hawkins. That puts Phil
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: now in second position at the moment, tied with Kyle
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Muldoon on four points.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: He's friaging out that Jay.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: It's so close currently as it currently stands two points
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: behind Jared Hornby in first position.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Well, let's see how we go when I give three
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: points to two for the dolder as in.
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: Two for the road yep, that is his name is David.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Oh you joke again David Mott with his first points
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: of the season. That puts him on three. Well on
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: David Mott, But that means it's getting very close at
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: the top of the table now.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Indeed, indeed, and because I only have a handful of
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: pop culture references and I like to repeat jokes, have
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: I us turned down for Mott?
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: Maybe because that's worth re easy turned down for Mott?
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: Turned out for what that's the best one ever? That
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: got guy like an extra year's worth of work. We're
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: gonna get rid of the guy, but he had turned
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: out for him.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: But normally that will get your bonus, may it didn't
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: get me fired.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: So still in the first position we have Jared Hornby
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: on six points, second position Clever Cayle and Phil Hawkins
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: on four the names it's the same old names again now,
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: wasn't it. So they're making me come back? And our
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: third position Brian Hughes and David Mott.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: On three points.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: Well, well down to everybody, Yeah, well done? Indeed, all right,
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Well that is our review of Dangerous Curves. Hope you
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: guy who's enjoyed listening to us Rand. We haven't random
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: For a good while. Certainly not you. You're very to
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: quote you. I took it personally, Please be quite. Michael Jordan.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: Then Michael john you're still in my bit. It's like,
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: how about we swapped Michael Jordan, You're going to do
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: some podcasting for a while and I'll start shooting three
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: pointers with bulls. Yeah, but it was. It was fun.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: Sometimes it's good to just get a good rant out. Absolutely,
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: I feel like people were more.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: I've more interested in this episode review than anything has
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: done for a while, because've been posting on there. This
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: one of the does. They're like, I can't wait to
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: hear guys rant and then maybe Ransom the Way in
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: the future.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: And then this is me going, yeah, I suppose and
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: had some issues and Dan is like, fuck this show.
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: I was livid. He was very very angry.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Yes, shit episode, shit shit episode. The worst episode we've
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: ever reviewed in the history of four fork a discaud
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: so far, all right.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: The next episode, thank you for the adding the so far. Yes,
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: that's sad.

- 1:19:48Speaker 3: I think I remember watching this one when it was on.
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: I have no recollection except for the fact that Lisa
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: and Homer like gone some tournament I think for crossword
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Puss something along those lines. And anyway, Shenanigans ensuit.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: We'll talk about them when we talk of we will indeed.
