Transcript
- 0:00Hi, Caitlyn! Hi, Cassie! Hi! We're doing a bonus for you today, and it is the long-awaited bonus for the Jake the alligator man of a zone.
- 0:12[laughs] Yeah, because I told you guys I couldn't leave him alone. He's not really in this. We're gonna talk about actually more of like the Marsh's free museum.
- 0:22And I know that you guys, well, Caitlyn, definitely had questions about the shipwreck. I don't know if you guys remember the shipwreck, so we'll get there.
- 0:33Okay, and we'll talk about it a little bit more.
- 0:35We're gonna talk about some of the other fun things besides Jake the alligator man of the museum.
- 0:43Yeah, the find at Marsh's free museum in Long Beach, Washington.
- 0:48Which fun fact, I don't know if you guys know Shay and Jody from Rainy Day Rabbit holes, when they came to visit us, they stopped here and visited Jake the alligator man, and they got us stickers, which I forgot to pull mine out, but they gave us a little Jake the alligator man sticker?
- 1:03Yes, they did.
- 1:05It's so sweet, and they took some pictures of some stuff for us.
- 1:08There is a replica, okay, so we are gonna start off talking about Jake, but then that's it. Okay, okay, so there is a replica of Jake that looks down from the roof like a gargoyle.
- 1:20I don't know if they got a picture of that. I'll have to look through them, but I thought that was so cute that he's just like up there, a replica of him watching over the entrance, the building.
- 1:32That just feels like a lot, but okay, I mean he is kind of like a main guy. He's like on, you know, all their stickers and stuff.
- 1:43Yeah, he's the 18.
- 1:46Yeah, exactly. They're not coming for some of this other stuff, which maybe they should be.
- 1:52So it also has the world's largest collection of glass fishing balls, which I don't know why I thought that that was so interesting that you guys needed to know, but I did, and now you know, so you're welcome.
- 2:07Yeah, I mean, I feel like I needed to know.
- 2:11Oh good, okay, thank you. They also have someone named Mary Lou, and Mary Lou is a complete human skeleton that was apparently.
- 2:20She was apparently found in someone's closet in Aberdeen.
- 2:24No, thank you.
- 2:26And I did try to look this up, but I couldn't find anything, but.
- 2:31So I don't know, it could not be true. It could not be reported on or maybe Caitlin can find it. I don't know.
- 2:38Okay, this is the funnest thing, though, that I think that they have.
- 2:43And I begged Shane Jodi. I was like, oh my god, you guys are there. I need a picture of this.
- 2:49I'm scared. It's the Wyoming werewolf.
- 2:56And this is quote a cleverly modified deer butt.
- 3:05Okay, that didn't exactly go how I expected it's very strange. And I was freaking in tears when I.
- 3:16When I saw a picture.
- 3:18This thing was captured December 12, 1976 in Afton, Wyoming.
- 3:25Okay.
- 3:28How's that cleverly modified deer butt, Caitlin?
- 3:34It's modified.
- 3:40I don't know how clever I think it is.
- 3:43It's real ugly. It is not.
- 3:47It's not attractive. The eye, the eyes don't eat the gum line.
- 3:52The tongue is orange. It's it's odd.
- 3:55But they basically made the but hole into a mouth.
- 4:02I have.
- 4:05I have it once so many and absolutely zero questions.
- 4:10You know what I mean?
- 4:11I know exactly what you mean.
- 4:16Oh boy.
- 4:18Yeah, that was my favorite.
- 4:20I've ever seen my life.
- 4:23That is that is a lot. It's a lot to take in.
- 4:27I think it's a lot of work.
- 4:33Which I feel like is what the deer was.
- 4:36That's what she said.
- 4:39Oh boy.
- 4:41What a were will.
- 4:42What a Wyoming were will.
- 4:44This was found in Wyoming.
- 4:46Yep.
- 4:47But the sign says the sign really reads a captured not found captured.
- 4:53The weird taxidermy just like to maybe some normal taxidermy.
- 4:56Oh, already.
- 4:59So they have Morris the cat who was and still is their shop cat.
- 5:05When he sadly passed away, they had him taxidermied and I don't know what that's called, but we're going to go taxidermied.
- 5:12Yeah.
- 5:13So that they could keep their beloved pet in the stores collection.
- 5:17I don't know how I feel about that.
- 5:19But I'm not going to lie. I did think about that for my cat, but it would be really creepy.
- 5:25Yeah.
- 5:26But in this environment where you already have a bunch of taxidermy, you see it every day.
- 5:32Yeah.
- 5:33You're used to this cat being there every day and then all of a sudden it's not.
- 5:36I feel like that's something that's like the rare situation where maybe it's not so creepy.
- 5:42Yeah. Just another Tuesday.
- 5:44Yeah. Just another Tuesday at Marsh's free museum.
- 5:50You can also apparently visit an authentic shrunken head from the Hebrew people in the Amazon rainforest of South America.
- 6:00It's apparently authentic, but we're going to go.
- 6:03I had to.
- 6:04I had to you guys.
- 6:06I was so interested in this.
- 6:09Like, are these things actually authentic? Are they real? Are they art like Jake?
- 6:15Like, what are these things?
- 6:17So I fell down that rabbit hole and I fell I fell in deep.
- 6:26And you guys have to go with me and now I'm going to drag you down there with me and we're going to learn all about how shrunken heads are made together.
- 6:34And it's going to be okay. We're going to get through it together. Okay. I need water first though.
- 6:39Okay. Great.
- 6:41We're going to listen and we're not going to judge. Okay. This is what we're doing.
- 6:45So the Hebrew people in the Amazon rainforest consists of four tribes.
- 6:51The show are at you are.
- 6:54Kwamisa.
- 6:56Kwamisa.
- 6:57I love that.
- 6:59And a guaruna. A guaruna. I wrote them all out. I really tried.
- 7:05Yeah. You got a hookdown phonics, baby.
- 7:08And they're like, they're beautiful words. They're really cool to say.
- 7:11Yeah. I think they are.
- 7:13We're listening and we're not judging these beautiful Amazonian rainforest tribes.
- 7:19Right? Okay.
- 7:20Okay. This is their culture.
- 7:22Not yet.
- 7:23This was their culture. This is their history.
- 7:26So that's that's the angle that we're coming at this with. Okay.
- 7:30Okay.
- 7:31The shrunken heads are called sanzas.
- 7:34And they're spelled like T.S. A.N. T.S. A.S.
- 7:40But it's pronounced sanzas, kind of like Game of Thrones, sanzas.
- 7:44Yes. Yes. That's exactly what I was thinking.
- 7:47This obviously seemed very morbid and grotesque to us now.
- 7:52And it is. But to them, you know, we kind of already talked about it.
- 7:56This was their tribal practice. It had great symbolic and spiritual meaning to them.
- 8:00So they don't do it anymore. Well, just start there.
- 8:05Okay.
- 8:06Are you going to tell us about what exactly they were doing?
- 8:11Yeah.
- 8:12Yeah. I'm going to.
- 8:13Okay.
- 8:14And it's going to be, it's going to be okay.
- 8:16So they were worn around their waist as trophies.
- 8:20They believe that by shrinking the head, they would acquire the soul of that person.
- 8:24And that would give them power and protection, like in battle.
- 8:28Oh my gosh.
- 8:29As many of us humans, the Hebrew people fought over land, resources, hunting grounds.
- 8:35And I'm sure many other things like a beautiful woman.
- 8:39Like it could have been anything. You know, yeah.
- 8:41Okay. So trigger warning.
- 8:43I'm going to describe the process of shrinking the heads, but as gently as possible.
- 8:49Okay.
- 8:50And just keep in mind that this was ceremonial.
- 8:53And we still don't really actually know everything that went on in the process.
- 8:57There's some mystery about it because it's not ours, you know.
- 9:01Okay.
- 9:02So after unaliving an enemy, they would remove the head from the body.
- 9:07Then they removed the skin from the skull.
- 9:11And then the skull was discarded.
- 9:13It was used as an offering to their spirit helpers.
- 9:16Oh.
- 9:17So they then have the skin, right?
- 9:21And they would sew the eyes shut.
- 9:23And then to actually shrink it, it would be simmered for one to two hours.
- 9:29And this kind of made the skin darker.
- 9:32It gave it more of a rubbery texture.
- 9:35And then it was filled with hot stones and sand to further shape and preserve it.
- 9:41That's it.
- 9:43Okay.
- 9:44So I told you gently fast, I didn't, there was a lot of other details.
- 9:49I didn't need to go into the details.
- 9:51I just wanted the basics of kind of how it was done.
- 9:55Yeah.
- 9:56So cut to the 18th and 19th centuries where Stanza's captivated European explorers
- 10:05who would take them home as souvenirs.
- 10:09So who's the gross ones?
- 10:11I'm going to be honest, I definitely think it's all, it's all a little gross.
- 10:16Yeah, definitely the, you know, colonists, people that are coming in, the colonizers.
- 10:23Yeah.
- 10:24Coming in and taking them as like a souvenir.
- 10:28And then they would be like, "Oh, I'm going to be honest.
- 10:32I'm going to be honest.
- 10:34I definitely think it's all, it's all a little gross.
- 10:39and taking them as like a souvenir.
- 10:41That's... it's layers of gross.
- 10:44Icki, and it gets... it just makes everything, like we do.
- 10:50It just made everything so much worse.
- 10:51Okay.
- 10:53They eventually became highly sought after.
- 10:56Naturally increasing demand.
- 10:58You maybe can see where this is going.
- 11:03The sludge to an increase in head hunting parties.
- 11:07For not only humans, but also animals, like sloths and monkeys.
- 11:12Why are we the worst?
- 11:15Yeah.
- 11:17And I was like, is this where like the term head hunting comes from?
- 11:21Oh, I didn't really look it up because I just kind of like was a passing thought in my mind.
- 11:27Well, I was like, "Oh, like that's a little thing."
- 11:30You know, I think I just... I think I...
- 11:35I think I want off this planet.
- 11:38I don't like it here.
- 11:40It's not for me.
- 11:41Yeah, and it's really sad because then they started...
- 11:43I mean, it's sad when you kill humans.
- 11:46But then they start killing like sloths and monkeys because they're like,
- 11:49"Yeah!"
- 11:50Cute little faces are very similar to ours.
- 11:53So...
- 11:54You know?
- 11:55I hate that.
- 11:57But so that they would do these, obviously, this is not ceremonial.
- 12:01This is not part of an ancient practice.
- 12:03This is now selling counterfeit heads.
- 12:08Right.
- 12:09Terturists and collectors.
- 12:11This is what happens when capitalism meets other culture.
- 12:16Yeah.
- 12:17Yeah.
- 12:18Literally.
- 12:19Quite literally.
- 12:20Yeah.
- 12:21It's so gross.
- 12:22It's really icky.
- 12:24But finally, in the 1930s, the Ecuadorian and Peruvian governments outlawed the trafficking
- 12:31of Shronkenheads.
- 12:32So, it's no longer legal.
- 12:35Okay.
- 12:36Well, that took a lot longer than I'm comfortable with.
- 12:39Yeah.
- 12:40The 1930s, you guys.
- 12:43Yeah.
- 12:44So, I don't know.
- 12:47It's possible that they have an older real Shronkenhead.
- 12:52It's possible they have a counterfeit.
- 12:56One that was headhunted.
- 12:58It's possible.
- 12:59I mean, not.
- 13:00Who knows?
- 13:01They do claim that it is authentic.
- 13:04That's just, I'm going to go with that.
- 13:05That's what they say at their store.
- 13:07But who knows?
- 13:09Okay.
- 13:10We're moving on.
- 13:11That wasn't so bad.
- 13:12Right.
- 13:13Okay.
- 13:14But it's so interesting that you go into these places and look at it.
- 13:20Because we've seen Shronkenheads before.
- 13:22I don't know if they were authentic either or not.
- 13:25But it's like, oh, yeah.
- 13:26Another Shronkenhead.
- 13:27Yeah.
- 13:31But now, when you know all of this, it goes into it and wears, because only these four specific
- 13:36tribes did this is from what I read anyway.
- 13:40So you're just like, I don't.
- 13:43It's very interesting.
- 13:46It is, I can confirm it is giving me the IK.
- 13:54But it is really interesting.
- 13:57But it also reminds you of Beetlejuice.
- 13:59And I didn't even plan to have Beetlejuice colors back there.
- 14:01It just happened.
- 14:02Because you know where you have the Shronkenhead guy.
- 14:06Yeah.
- 14:07Yeah.
- 14:08Okay.
- 14:09So we've come to the Admiral Benson, the SS Admiral Benson Shipwreck.
- 14:16Never forget a shipwreck.
- 14:18Speaking of the one shipwreck, we will never, ever forget.
- 14:23I wore a theme shirt.
- 14:30I wore my theme shirt for you guys.
- 14:33Because if you would listen to the episode, we talked about how the Benson, the hotel that
- 14:40we said was the Titanic and then there was a ship.
- 14:44It all connects.
- 14:45It was the whole thing.
- 14:46Yeah.
- 14:47It all connects.
- 14:48Keep up people.
- 14:49So you're welcome.
- 14:55So your question was, did the shipwreck stay there or did they get it removed?
- 15:01And I did not actually really know the answer to that question.
- 15:05I did say I think it broke up and then like went away.
- 15:08I don't think you're like, I don't know.
- 15:10Yeah.
- 15:11I don't really know.
- 15:12No.
- 15:13And that's fair.
- 15:14This episode was about Jake the Alligant, and this shipwreck was like bonus content.
- 15:18This is like a passerby, you know, like ships in the night if you will.
- 15:24But then I was like, well, why don't I just look it up and tell you guys.
- 15:27So here we are.
- 15:28So we're going to talk about the shipwreck, not the Titanic, the Admiral, that says Admiral
- 15:36Benson, Tripwreck.
- 15:37Okay.
- 15:38Like I'll take it.
- 15:39Leo, unfortunately, or fortunately, well, probably unfortunately wasn't on this boat
- 15:45because he put a survive he was on the shipwreck.
- 15:49Yeah.
- 15:50Yeah.
- 15:51Because we did talk about that.
- 15:52There were no casualties.
- 15:53So.
- 15:54Yeah, that's right.
- 15:56No floating doors.
- 15:57I mean, I'm not saying there wasn't floating doors, but no one died on them.
- 16:04Okay.
- 16:05All right.
- 16:06Or off of them.
- 16:07No one was pushed into the icy cold water.
- 16:10Into the icy blue depths.
- 16:11Are you ready?
- 16:13I'll never let go.
- 16:16She's not ready yet.
- 16:17Do you need another second?
- 16:18Do you need a minute?
- 16:19No, I'm good.
- 16:20Do you need to finish your reenactment?
- 16:23Listen, you can't bring up the Titanic and expect me to behave like an adult.
- 16:28Okay.
- 16:29It's tenuous and best.
- 16:32Anyways.
- 16:33Was it, there was like a reel or something I saw recently that was like turtles or something
- 16:37like reenacting the, the door scene and the Titanic.
- 16:41I'd, I'm like having a, I don't know.
- 16:43This is real.
- 16:44This could be a fever dream.
- 16:45I don't know.
- 16:46Either way, I want it.
- 16:48But it was like turtles or something like fighting over a log and like one of them pushed
- 16:54the other, yeah.
- 16:55Anyway, this is not about turtles.
- 16:58Okay.
- 16:59I mean, I guess I'm still interested.
- 17:03February 15th, 1930.
- 17:05So like kind of around the time that they were outlawing the Shronkenheads.
- 17:11Yeah.
- 17:12So it all comes together.
- 17:16It all rolls around.
- 17:19The, it all rolls around.
- 17:23The day after Valentine's Day, February 15th, 1930, the SS Admiral Benson was headed to Portland
- 17:31from San Francisco.
- 17:33The weather and the seas were relatively calm, but there was a heavy dense fog at the entrance
- 17:40to the Columbia River.
- 17:41Oh, boy.
- 17:42And at 6.40 p.m. the SS Admiral Benson ran aground on the south end of Peacock's
- 17:50bit a quarter mile west of the North Jettie.
- 17:54I don't know what any of that means, but that's the info.
- 17:57I don't know.
- 17:58You guys can Google it if you want to know where it's at.
- 18:00You know, like not a bullshit.
- 18:02Yeah.
- 18:03I don't know.
- 18:04I like the Peacock spit though.
- 18:06Yeah.
- 18:07It's like, oh boy, I didn't realize that they did that.
- 18:12I thought that was like kind of more exclusive to camels.
- 18:15I don't know.
- 18:16Let's ask a Peacock if they spit or swallow.
- 18:19What?
- 18:20My Peacock.
- 18:21Cut.
- 18:22Yeah.
- 18:23We've done that before in that song.
- 18:24I'm like Katy Perry's song.
- 18:25We've talked about Peacock's before, man.
- 18:27It's not the first time.
- 18:29I, you know, I'd like to say I'm surprised, but obviously I'm not.
- 18:35So it did run aground.
- 18:37It wasn't like a wreck.
- 18:38It was a pretty gentle wreck.
- 18:41Like nothing crazy happened.
- 18:44And the Admiral Benson was not damaged or in immediate danger.
- 18:48So, okay.
- 18:49So this is more like I literally ran out of gas and I just slowly like let myself off
- 18:56onto the shoulder.
- 18:57Kind of.
- 18:58Yeah.
- 18:59Kind of like that.
- 19:00Ran aground.
- 19:01Yeah.
- 19:02That's a good way to put it.
- 19:03I just, in Charles C. Graham, radioed the Coast Guard for assistance, but doesn't send any
- 19:08distress signal because it was not really a distress.
- 19:12Yeah.
- 19:13Okay.
- 19:14I mean, oh, oh, okay.
- 19:16Yeah.
- 19:17All right.
- 19:18On February 16th.
- 19:20So the next day, the Coast Guard removed 34 passengers and all non-essential crew members.
- 19:28And at high tide, Captain Graham attempted to reflote the vessel.
- 19:32The vessel.
- 19:33I like to see the ship.
- 19:35I don't know.
- 19:36I don't want to see the vessel, the ship.
- 19:38Yeah.
- 19:39But she did remain stuck.
- 19:41He wasn't able to get her free.
- 19:43Well, maybe she should have stopped calling her a vessel.
- 19:46Yeah.
- 19:47Talk nice to her rubber nice.
- 19:49Maybe, you know, yeah.
- 19:52This is a quote direct from the article because, well, you'll just see.
- 19:57Okay.
- 19:58Quote, "several tugboats, including the powerful Canadian seagowing tug salvage king,
- 20:05stood by to attempt to pull the Admiral Benson out."
- 20:08Oh, but it didn't work.
- 20:10Not even the powerful Canadian seagowing tug salvage king could free the Admiral Benson.
- 20:17What should we do?
- 20:18Well, I'll tell you.
- 20:21On February 17th, the weather starts to look bad.
- 20:24So maybe there is a little bit more pressing danger.
- 20:29Okay.
- 20:30So the coast guard removed the five remaining passengers in most of the remaining crews.
- 20:36The only like the captain and very essential crew members were on board.
- 20:41At noon, a decision was made to abandon all efforts to pull the Admiral Benson off the
- 20:46peacock's foot until the storm passed.
- 20:49So obviously like storming, they can't really try to save it.
- 20:53Yeah, I mean, not a great time.
- 20:56But captain Graham flooded all of the cargo holds to try to keep the ship from pounding
- 21:02against the sand bar.
- 21:04So they tried to weigh it down.
- 21:06I guess.
- 21:07Okay.
- 21:08That's what that means.
- 21:10Yeah.
- 21:11I mean, I think I see the logic.
- 21:15Yeah.
- 21:16It's like it's not going to sink because it's stuck on a sand bar.
- 21:18So they're trying to just make it so it's not beating wildly around in the waves and
- 21:23stuff.
- 21:24I still, I don't know.
- 21:26Not a not a good expert, but I'm not sure that I love that with passengers aboard.
- 21:34Well, they've all been off board.
- 21:37All the passengers are gone at this point.
- 21:39Yeah, some of the crew members.
- 21:41Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 21:43Okay.
- 21:44There's still human people on the ship.
- 21:49But if they, I don't know if they agreed to be there, if they were forced, I have no idea.
- 21:53Yeah.
- 21:54I don't know.
- 21:55But on February 18th, so the next day, the storm got worse and then the last of the crew members
- 22:01were removed.
- 22:02So like any true captain, Captain Graham decided he was going to stay on board until there
- 22:07was absolutely no hope of saving the ship.
- 22:09So he's really going to stick it out until the end.
- 22:12Yeah.
- 22:13I mean, they always say like, you know, the captain goes down with the ship, right?
- 22:17Which I hope he doesn't because that would be a really stupid thing to die.
- 22:23That would be the, not the way to go down on a duck ship.
- 22:28That's not an end danger.
- 22:30Right.
- 22:31Like you do that because you're there to man the ship and try to protect the passengers.
- 22:39He just like, he lives there now.
- 22:41He's like, okay, I'm living here now.
- 22:42I'm going down with the ship no matter how long it takes.
- 22:46Yeah.
- 22:47Zero dollars rent you guys.
- 22:50He's out there in like a wine shirt.
- 22:53Hell yeah.
- 22:54Anyway, he didn't work remotely, you know.
- 22:59So the storm just kept getting worse over the next several days and Captain Graham reported
- 23:04that the ship was starting to break up.
- 23:06It's just not good.
- 23:09And the weirdest thing happened.
- 23:11I was sitting here typing this, listening to a little, you know, Spotify.
- 23:17As I'm typing like this sentence, Selena Gomez comes on and is singing.
- 23:23And as I'm literally typing break up, she is singing.
- 23:28Call me when you break up.
- 23:29As I'm typing break up.
- 23:31How fucking weird is that?
- 23:33This just happened when I was fixing up my notes while I was in the room.
- 23:37Is that weird?
- 23:38Well, it's crazy.
- 23:39I just have to bring those up whenever it happens because it's so interesting to me.
- 23:43So the Admiral Benson actually made it through the storm with little damage.
- 23:47Interestingly, that's so crazy.
- 23:49But it did push the ship further into the peacock's fit.
- 23:55It's, now I mean, now we kind of already know how this ends.
- 23:59Yeah.
- 24:00Spoiler alert.
- 24:01This made it impossible to ever free the Admiral Benson.
- 24:05On the Sunday, February 23rd.
- 24:08So this happened on the 15th.
- 24:11So now the 23rd.
- 24:13Captain Graham finally abandons ship.
- 24:16Finally.
- 24:17Life is so freaking pissed.
- 24:19She's like, she's like, come on.
- 24:23The twins have colic.
- 24:26And I could really use some help around here.
- 24:29She's got a baby on her hip.
- 24:30She's all mad.
- 24:31She's got two.
- 24:34One on each hip.
- 24:36Some reason the other one was on the ground.
- 24:38I pictured it was on the ground like it was holding onto her leg.
- 24:41And one was on her hip.
- 24:43And she's flipping off the boat.
- 24:46And he's like, I live here now.
- 24:48This makes more sense.
- 24:50Why he stayed more than it all could.
- 24:53The twins.
- 24:55Colic is rough.
- 24:56Colic is rough.
- 24:57I'd stay on the boat too.
- 24:59Yeah, yeah, you should.
- 25:00Especially if there's no immediate danger.
- 25:02It's a freaking vacation, man.
- 25:04I mean, you'd be an asshole husband.
- 25:06But yeah, I also at the same time would be like, yeah, I could see it.
- 25:10There was a hearing after this.
- 25:12The captain Graham testified that it was only his second trip to Portland.
- 25:17And he did not have the experience to be able to successfully navigate, navigate,
- 25:22navigate the, navigate the, navigate the admiral Benson.
- 25:29He did, he didn't have it.
- 25:31You guys, he couldn't navigate the admiral Benson across the Columbia River bar under the
- 25:37severe foggy conditions.
- 25:39And I wrote severed, but I meant to write severe foggy conditions.
- 25:43He gave no excuses for it other than misjudgment of the strong ocean currents, carried him a
- 25:50little off course.
- 25:52There was heavy fog.
- 25:53He couldn't see well.
- 25:55Yeah, I mean, I've had a sore throat for a month and a half.
- 25:59He gave no excuses other than all of this stuff.
- 26:02Now I mean, I feel like that, you know, it sounds like kind of in a way.
- 26:09And I'm worth saying that jokingly.
- 26:12It does kind of sound like, oh, he gave no excuses.
- 26:15It's tough.
- 26:16But it's like, that's really important context because in his position, you know, I mean,
- 26:22you could be criminally charged.
- 26:24Right.
- 26:25Even if nobody was necessarily physically harmed, like that could be, you know, gross negligence
- 26:31or something.
- 26:32So I feel like that's fair.
- 26:34Like, hey, listen, this is totally my bad, but just so you know.
- 26:38Like, these were kind of extraordinary circumstances.
- 26:42Like I wasn't drunk, basically.
- 26:44Right.
- 26:45Yeah.
- 26:46Right.
- 26:47Listen, I didn't stick the landing like solely, but no, not at all.
- 26:52Not at all.
- 26:53I mean, maybe boats are harder to fly than planes.
- 26:56And we're just going to leave that where it landed and keep going.
- 27:01Okay.
- 27:02We're going to leave it where it landed just like the SS had Robinson.
- 27:06Oh, God.
- 27:07Yeah, no, we'll just use golf rules, you know, just you got to play it as it lies.
- 27:13Captain Cece Graham, he pleaded guilty to the charge of negligence and his master marinara
- 27:19license was suspended for six months.
- 27:23That's rough.
- 27:25Yeah.
- 27:26I mean, I guess it probably wasn't a paid suspension.
- 27:28I don't know.
- 27:29Yeah.
- 27:30I mean, who could get that?
- 27:31Because he just got his license taken away.
- 27:33So yeah, like he can't work.
- 27:34Or, you know, he can do some stuff off the books.
- 27:37And I would imagine he's got the twins at home.
- 27:39So yeah, yeah, you got to keep those mouths fed.
- 27:43So now we're going to find out what happened to the boat because this was like kind of your
- 27:47question.
- 27:48It took me kind of forever to get here.
- 27:49But now we're going to answer your question finally.
- 27:51Yeah.
- 27:52History and she.
- 27:54I know.
- 27:55And then this, this long-ass thing I'm about to say, the association of marinara insurance
- 28:03underwriters.
- 28:04They, those guys sent salvagers to protect the ship from being pillaged.
- 28:11Okay.
- 28:12Yeah, that makes sense.
- 28:13After the storm, a salvage crew went in and they used gondolas to like, like a rigging
- 28:23police system of gondolas.
- 28:25Oh my gosh.
- 28:26To remove all the usable cargo that was left over in the ship.
- 28:30They were like, we're taking it.
- 28:31Yeah.
- 28:32You're getting it.
- 28:33You're going to leave all that money just because then other people were just going to take
- 28:36it.
- 28:37So they wanted to take anything they could out, but it took them like two weeks to do it because
- 28:41they were using fucking gondolas.
- 28:43Gondolas.
- 28:44Oh my God.
- 28:45Yeah.
- 28:46Dude, that is wild.
- 28:48And they had to like protect the ship that whole time too.
- 28:51So other people wouldn't take this stuff.
- 28:53I think that's kind of crazy.
- 28:54Oh my God.
- 28:55No, the 1930s of it all.
- 28:57Yeah.
- 28:58And I can still, I can like see all these people like standing on the beach too.
- 29:01They're just like watching all of this happen watching the gondola ride.
- 29:05Like, that's why the burger stand did so good.
- 29:11If we remember kind of that whole thing.
- 29:13That's amazing.
- 29:14No, honestly, this reminds me of, um, oh my gosh.
- 29:18What was it?
- 29:19Was it treasure, Coles?
- 29:21I think I covered for prohibition crimes.
- 29:24Oh yeah.
- 29:25Is that the right?
- 29:26I don't know if that's the right name.
- 29:27I know you mean.
- 29:28I know you mean.
- 29:29Yeah.
- 29:30People on the beach, they were like, oh shit.
- 29:33Ship coming from Canada just crashed.
- 29:36Oh, interesting.
- 29:37I wonder what they had aboard.
- 29:39I guess I should go and check it out.
- 29:42That's the party ship.
- 29:43The party ship crash.
- 29:45Go.
- 29:46Go, go, go.
- 29:47Go.
- 29:48Go.
- 29:49Go.
- 29:50So over time, once they got all of the stuff, the usable stuff out of the ship, they just
- 29:56obviously scavengers got to it and they just like removed.
- 29:59They just like left it there.
- 30:00They just like left it there.
- 30:01They just had to leave it there.
- 30:02They literally couldn't get it out.
- 30:04I mean, we talked about it.
- 30:06The Canadian strong man, the most old man, you know, the guy.
- 30:12So I was like, oh, I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:18I'm gonna go.
- 30:19I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:20I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:21I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:22I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:23So I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:24I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:25I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:26I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:27I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:28I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:29I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:30I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:31I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:32I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:33I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:34I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:35I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:36I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:37I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:38I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:39I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:40I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:41I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:42I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:43I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:44I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:45I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:46I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:47I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:48I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:49I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:50I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:51I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:52I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:53I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:54I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:55I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:56I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:57I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:58I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 30:59I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:00I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:01I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:02I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:03I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:04I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:05I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:06I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:07I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:08I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:09I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:10I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:11I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:12I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:13I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:14I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:15I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:16I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:17I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:18I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:19I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:20I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:21I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:22I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:23I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:24I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:25I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:26I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:27I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:28I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:29I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:30I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:31I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:32I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:33I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:34I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:35I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:36I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:37I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:38I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:39I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:40I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:41I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:42I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:43I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:44I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:45I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:46I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:47I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:48I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:49I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:50I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:51I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:52I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:53I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:54I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:55I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:56I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:57I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:58I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 31:59I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:00I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:01I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:02I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:03I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:04I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:05I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:06I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:07I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:08I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:09I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:10I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:11I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:12I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:13I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:14I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:15I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:16I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:17I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:18I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:19I'm gonna go on the beach.
- 32:20I'm gonna spread these out and herequen.
- 32:21I'm gonna feel it out.
- 32:22I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:24I'm gonna feel it out.
- 32:25I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:26I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:27I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:28I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:29I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:30I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:31I won't leave my mouth open while I do this.
- 32:32You guys.
- 32:33You want to see what we got?
- 32:34You want to see what we got?
- 32:35You want to see what we got?
- 32:36You want to see what we got?
- 32:37You want to see what we got?
- 32:38You want to see what we got?
- 32:39We got Morris the cat!
- 32:41Oh, cute!
- 32:44We talked about a kitty.
- 32:47We did!
- 32:48It's Fades.
- 32:49It's the Jacob Fades.
- 32:53The... I don't know what the Jacob's Fades is in, so we're gonna just quickly Google it,
- 32:59unless Caitlyn's already doing it.
- 33:02Spades in playing cards corresponds to the suit of sword, while Jackson playing cards
- 33:10don't have a direct equivalent in tarot, they are often interpreted representing both
- 33:17pages and night.
- 33:19This says the Jacob's Fades being specifically associated with a night of swords.
- 33:25Oh, okay.
- 33:26Night of swords are keywords are daring, shifl-free.
- 33:32Fourth, rightness, impatience, single-mindedness, and insensitivity.
- 33:40This is sort of screaming captain to me, like all of it, even the insensitivity with what
- 33:45you were saying.
- 33:46Single-mindedness.
- 33:47Yeah.
- 33:48But like filling the rooms with water and you were like, "But there's still people on
- 33:54boards."
- 33:55Night's often symbolize messages or travel.
- 33:58Travel?
- 33:59They don't say.
- 34:00Oh, before I forget, the battling, so this is the shrunken heads, the swords.
- 34:08And the cat does look like it's holding.
- 34:12You're gonna like this in a good event.
- 34:13I don't know if you can see it.
- 34:14It looks like a little bit.
- 34:16Yeah, good.
- 34:17I mean, it's a spade head.
- 34:18Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:20Interesting.
- 34:21Night's often symbolize messages or travel.
- 34:24Some decks, including the writer-weight Smith Taro, show this night rushing hell-bent toward
- 34:30an adversary or adventure.
- 34:32Oh, okay.
- 34:33Yeah.
- 34:34Or you could be rushing hell-bent towards a fan bar.
- 34:38I mean, you know.
- 34:40Take that's an adversary.
- 34:42Yeah.
- 34:43I really is.
- 34:44A formidable one at that.
- 34:48In the Aquarian Taro, however, he shoulders his sword, contemplating his next move.
- 34:54If he represents a person you know, he may be someone who's overly aggressive or argumentative
- 35:01who lives in attack mode.
- 35:04Or he might be a spiritual warrior.
- 35:08One who uses his intellect to examine and purify himself.
- 35:12Interesting.
- 35:13That is all like interesting and I'm not sure if I have the words to connect it, but there's
- 35:18some sort of connection there.
- 35:19You guys, you tell us.
- 35:21The upright night may suggest you're passionate about your ideas and believe wholeheartedly
- 35:27in the rightness of your objective.
- 35:30Going down with the ship.
- 35:32Yeah.
- 35:33If this card represents a natural person, he's probably a young man who expresses his ideas
- 35:40enthusiastically and may have trouble understanding others viewpoint.
- 35:45Hmm.
- 35:46He was a new captain, too.
- 35:48Hmm.
- 35:49Oh.
- 35:50He has a quick mind and keen intellect, but may lack true wisdom.
- 35:55Hmm.
- 35:56Hmm.
- 35:57Getting capy.
- 35:58Do you see Graham?
- 35:59Sometimes this night symbolizes an urgent message or an unexpected trip.
- 36:05Yeah.
- 36:06That is so unexpected.
- 36:08Unexpected trip.
- 36:09Unexpected detour.
- 36:10Detour.
- 36:11Yeah.
- 36:12Well, he did have an unexpected trip because he was on his way to Portland.
- 36:18But when he got to Portland, he had a hearing instead of just like unloading his ship.
- 36:23Hmm.
- 36:24Yeah, interesting.
- 36:25Okay, so I think this has a tie-in to kind of the first half of what we were talking about.
- 36:30Cool.
- 36:31So there's an extra excerpt in between in the interpretation here, so I'm gonna read that.
- 36:37I'm gonna read that.
- 36:38Read that, sir.
- 36:39I'm gonna read that, sir.
- 36:40(laughs)
- 36:41Our modern day athletic teams have the roots in the medieval period when nights serve
- 36:47the royalty and noble houses.
- 36:51Our allegiance to particular teams often connected to schools we attended or the places
- 36:56where we live recalls our ancestors' fidelity to the tribes, victims, or countries to which
- 37:04they belonged.
- 37:06And the penance waived at sporting events harkened back to days of old when soldiers carried
- 37:12banners into battle to indicate the side for which they fought.
- 37:15Whoa, like war trophies.
- 37:18Banner is kind of on the front end of war and the trophies are kind of on the back end.
- 37:24But yeah, I'm sure they have their tribal banners and stuff like that.
- 37:29Yeah, they have to with.
- 37:31But I mean, it's like the overarching principle of like everybody has sort of their own customs
- 37:37when it comes to everything in life, including war.
- 37:41In a reading about money, you may need to act quickly in a financial matter with some
- 37:46gondola two weeks.
- 37:49(laughs)
- 37:50But don't neglect to study the situation before making a decision.
- 37:57The upright night may point to a trip for financial reasons or a message about money.
- 38:03Sometimes he hurls a change in your resources.
- 38:06Like I don't know, maybe a few unplanned months of unpaid leave.
- 38:11Yeah, yeah.
- 38:12Which I feel like it's too bad because I feel like, you know, so much can happen in terms
- 38:19of, you know, seafaring conditions and the weather.
- 38:23That's, it's a lot to put on.
- 38:25But he did, we did learn that he did work.
- 38:27He just wasn't able to drive the boat.
- 38:30He just didn't have his boat in my sense.
- 38:31But he did work like at the marina or whatever they said.
- 38:36I can't remember.
- 38:37Yeah.
- 38:38Oh my God.
- 38:39If the rating is about your job, this can represent a business trip.
- 38:45Sometimes it means a job change or a shift in work related responsibilities.
- 38:50Weird.
- 38:51The night may also caution you to hold your tongue and bite your time.
- 38:57Diplomacy is important now.
- 38:59I mean, he definitely bite at his time.
- 39:02Yep.
- 39:03Yep.
- 39:04How many days?
- 39:05The 15th to the 23rd.

- 41:19Or was that sufficient enough?
- 41:20I'm sure it was fine.
- 41:22Okay, perfect.
