- 0:10>> I'm here. Xbox is already turned off this week. I didn't have to turn talking to you.
- 0:15>> Good. Good. You're prepared. >> I did I don't want to get in trouble again.
- 0:19>> But I'm upset with Xbox. >> Really? Go on. >> Well, not really them. I'm upset with
- 0:25scammers. >> Oh, >> not scammers. Scalpers. Okay.
- 0:30>> So, they had they released a new the new Xbox like the throwback the green one.
- 0:35The green one. >> I was excited for it. It's sold out in less than a minute. >> Wow.
- 0:41>> And you can go onto eBay right now and see them for more than twice the cost.
- 0:46>> [ __ ] me. How much are they? >> It was going to cost me about 1300.
- 0:51>> Australian, obviously. 1300 for an Xbox. >> Wait, that's that's from Microsoft.
- 0:57That's from Microsoft. >> [ __ ] me. What's So what? Because it's green.
- 1:01>> eBay. They're about 3,300. >> What What does it have that's worth it
- 1:07being that much? >> Um well, the price of Xbox got RAM in it.
- 1:12>> Yeah, the price of Xbox has already gone up. Like >> how much is an Xbox now?
- 1:16>> Um I'll just have a look. Um, so just a normal >> Xbox Series X >> Series
- 1:23X is 1,100.
- 1:27>> Okay. A Okay. Australian, which makes a difference. It's they're 800 US.
- 1:34>> But that's still 200 bucks more than I paid >> when I bought mine when it was brand
- 1:38new. >> They've all gone up. Yeah. They've all gone up like because of RAM. Because of
- 1:43memory. It's just >> Yeah. Cuz even when in Australia I've
- 1:46got ours were like750 when they first came out. >> Yeah. Right.
- 1:51>> And now it's 1,100 for a new one. >> That's nuts. Yeah.
- 1:58>> So, but yeah, I've logged on and just gone instantly. And now if I go to eBay,
- 2:03it's just depressing. There is a chance I can still get one.
- 2:08>> Um I think JB Hi-Fi are the only ones that are doing a sensible
- 2:14>> way to do it. Not first come, first serve. >> They're doing a look, enter a ballot.
- 2:20>> If you win, you can buy one. >> Yeah. Do they make sure you're an actual
- 2:25person who wants an Xbox and not a scalper? >> Well, >> do they have a way to do that?
- 2:30>> I don't think they've got a way to do it, but they're only going to sell you one.
- 2:33>> Oh, sure. Yeah. >> So, it's I think there's a better chance
- 2:37of it not going to someone who's not a scalper. >> Yeah. All right.
- 2:43Jamie Hi-Fi, man. I haven't been there in [ __ ] ages.
- 2:46>> So, I signed up for that on Wednesday and then crossed my fingers cuz
- 2:50>> the Xbox I've got on my desk at the moment starting to die.
- 2:54>> So, I was looking at swapping it out. >> What is What do you mean starting to
- 2:59die? What is that? >> I have to do a hard reset every now and
- 3:03again. It's just It's Yeah, it's not quite happy sometimes. I've still got my
- 3:09other one back up ready to go. >> Yeah, you're back up. I was going to say
- 3:12I mind about the issues, but I don't use mine >> anywhere near your the number of hours
- 3:17yours has got racked up on it eclipses mine, I'm sure,
- 3:20>> by hundreds, if not thousands of hours.
- 3:25>> I turned mine on the other day. >> Yeah.
- 3:29>> Um and then I was looking I mentioned I messaged you guys. I want to play First
- 3:34Light. I want to play 007 First Light and I want to play on the Xbox because
- 3:37the Xbox is my normal console. >> Yes. And it doesn't have that horrible controller,
- 3:42>> right? Which I've been using because I've been playing Expedition 33 on
- 3:46PlayStation because because I have it I just have it on that platform. I just So, >> uh,
- 3:51>> yeah. And I mean, visually visually, I don't know why I said like that.
- 3:55Visually, uh, I think there's no difference. It's just Yeah. the controller basically.
- 4:00>> Yeah. >> Um, and
- 4:04First Light was on sale on PlayStation. Okay. >> Because it's Gamescom
- 4:11be on sale on both of them. >> No. No. And I was almost going to buy it
- 4:17because I was like, I want to play it, but then you reminded me [laughter] that
- 4:22I often forget that I have a PlayStation. >> Yes.
- 4:25>> So, I might buy it and then forget that I own it. And that might happen. So, >> yes.
- 4:30>> So, I did not buy it. >> Hold off on to it. Look, there might be
- 4:33something coming soon and it could I don't know if it will, but
- 4:39I'm hoping it will. Soon you might be able to get borrow my games. >> Oh, interesting.
- 4:45>> Or maybe I could sell them on cuz Xbox has also announced something else.
- 4:50Something else that they announced many years ago and no one is upset about at the moment.
- 4:56>> Uh, this is the one at the top. >> Yes. M >> so remember when the Xbox first Xbox
- 5:02Xbox One first came out that was going to be you can install
- 5:06you get the disc you can install it to the hard drive you don't have to put the
- 5:09disc in you just have to connect to the internet every 24 hours they're also
- 5:13hinting at other things like being able to sell [clears throat]
- 5:17>> copies and lend your copies out >> well they've announced this week that
- 5:21they're not going that far but they're allowing people to install their discs
- 5:25from their discs so >> yeah disc to digital I called. Yeah.
- 5:30>> So, there'll be a license on your disc there and it'll then associate with your
- 5:35account, but then if you sell your disc on and the second someone puts into
- 5:39their Xbox, you're going to lose it. >> Now, does this work for old ones or only new ones?
- 5:43>> It's going to work from Xbox One onwards, >> right? But no, but old discs, I mean.
- 5:48>> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. So, this license thing is already on there technically.
- 5:52>> It's already on there. It would have been on there since Xbox One.
- 5:55>> Yeah. Right. Okay. So, you can't do it for 360 games, but you can do it for
- 5:58Xbox One games. >> So, they can identify the disc, like the physical disc, that one disc.
- 6:05>> Okay, that's cool. I don't think we knew that. [laughter] I didn't know that, but
- 6:08they Yeah, that's good. >> So, I'm hoping that this is just to
- 6:12maybe bring it in steps and we get to the next point where I can share my games.
- 6:16>> I just said that's good. I don't know if that is good cuz anyway, whatever.
- 6:23You might be able to play games for a lot cheaper or free.
- 6:26>> Yeah, free. Borrowing them from you would definitely make them free. Uh >> yes.
- 6:30>> And I would basically have access to all games. >> Yes. >> Because that's how you work.
- 6:36>> Mhm. >> Yeah. All right. >> So, we'll wait and see. I'm I'm excited
- 6:41for it and I hope they do go to that next step. >> Yeah. Cuz that stuff was great and it
- 6:47was really just the always on >> Yeah. >> thing that people were mad about. But
- 6:52then you have to have that now anyway. We kind of got stuck with it anyway. >> Yeah.
- 6:56>> So like kind of I don't know. The fuss was mostly about nothing. Not not that
- 6:59it was Sorry, that's not fair. >> It's not that it was about nothing. It's
- 7:02that that's how things went anyway. >> Yes. >> So and we didn't get and we didn't get a
- 7:07bunch of good stuff because of the complaining and then we got stuck with
- 7:09the always on anyway. >> Yes. Like Yeah. Now you if you were to
- 7:13buy an Xbox today, I don't think you if you didn't connect it to the internet, I
- 7:17don't think you could set it up at all. >> Yeah. That's what I mean. And we've
- 7:21talked about this before. Even if you could just buy a disc copy of a game
- 7:24when it comes out and install it, you don't want to do that because there's
- 7:28almost certainly going to be a day one patch that you almost >> playable.
- 7:32>> Yeah. Cuz games are [ __ ] when they come out now.
- 7:35>> Yeah. So, yeah, it's it's taken a long time, but we might be getting to a point
- 7:40where I can sell my digital games >> once I finished 100%.
- 7:45>> Yeah, you could make some money, I guess. Yeah, I don't want to know how much I've
- 7:51spent. >> I kind of want to know, but I don't Does there I wonder if Is there a website
- 7:57that tells you that? >> There probably is. That I could go like Yeah, I could make it.
- 8:03>> Check my games and then just check the Xbox store to how much they cost. There
- 8:07probably is something out there. >> And when I say I could make it, I could
- 8:10make Claude make it. Yes, [laughter] >> that's what everyone does now.
- 8:17>> Yeah, Claude does everything. But the problem with that is Claude then knows
- 8:20everything. >> That's true. >> And knows everyone's code and knows all the back doors.
- 8:26>> Well, yeah, they do train on your data. That's true.
- 8:31Right. I was going to say it doesn't actually remember things the way people
- 8:34think, but they do train on your data. So, I guess it does have a record of it in the
- 8:38>> Yeah. In the >> It'll draw from what you've done. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:45>> It wrote the code. >> That's what I mean though. It's like
- 8:48circular. They have to be careful about that. Actually, they've um
- 8:51>> I think when they train it, they've got to make because you they you don't want
- 8:55to train it on stuff it wrote cuz that's like
- 8:59>> circular sort of thing. Yeah. >> So, but if it if it made that website,
- 9:06well, then I'm going to trade it on it. So, yeah. There you go.
- 9:12All right. But so that that and we'll wait and see.
- 9:16>> Yeah. Other Xbox news. Um do you need uh stools for your apartment?
- 9:22>> Um I kind of do. >> Well, go to IKEA, mate, because look at
- 9:27the Xbox collection and you can get yourself >> It's a little thumbstick.
- 9:33>> Xbox thumb sticks. I do actually need a stool because
- 9:39there's a game coming out later this year that >> requires a stool.
- 9:44>> Well, no, it's so Guitar Hero is not quite back, but
- 9:49there is a stage tour which is coming out. >> Okay. >> Which has drums again.
- 9:55>> Oh, I see. You need like a drum stool. >> So, I need a drum stool.
- 9:58>> You still have your uh your instruments? >> I do, but I want new I need new drums.
- 10:04So, I'm just going to buy a brand new set, >> right?
- 10:08>> Well, there you go. Buy a giant uh Xbox thumb stick to sit on. >> Yep.
- 10:13>> I spent $750 on a used drum set. >> Yep. I mean, this is IKEA, so I'm
- 10:20assuming the stool will be >> The store will be pretty cheap. >> Yeah.
- 10:24>> Wonder if it's out yet. >> Is IKEA cheap? My sense is that IKEA is
- 10:30cheap. Um, I think I Yeah, that key is cheap. >> Okay. >> I always thought it was.
- 10:36>> Look at that TV stand in the photo there. Is that a real TV stand? Can you
- 10:40mount a TV like that? >> I've never seen one like that.
- 10:45>> This is on the the top photo in the if you're if you're following along at home.
- 10:50>> No, I don't see why not either, but it just I've never seen that before. I just
- 10:54glanced over to the left of the stool and I was like, "The [ __ ] is that TV
- 10:57on?" cuz it's kind of like hung from the the back. Anyway, whatever. It It looks
- 11:04pretty cool. I've just never seen that before. >> All right. When does it come out?
- 11:09>> Oh, the little uh X uh cushions, too. >> The little >> cushions.
- 11:16>> Yeah. See the little uh >> I guess is that cabinet at the back?
- 11:20>> Okay. It comes out on the 1st of October. The cabinet I'd say would be as well like
- 11:26>> Yeah, because it kind of looks like an Xbox kind of Yeah. squint
- 11:30>> because there's nine pieces. I've just found out.
- 11:33>> Interesting. There's less than that in the photo. So, unless unless the TV
- 11:36stand and [ __ ] is as well. I guess >> the TV stand might be >> and the chair >> maybe.
- 11:43>> Anyway, >> I I'll go to IKEA and let you know. >> Yeah, please do.
- 11:47>> When I go pick up my stool, >> I don't need any furniture. So, I think
- 11:52I'm going to wait until my child is older to buy any new furniture cuz we we
- 11:56made the mistake of buying a uh a light colored couch cuz we didn't have a child
- 12:02and then we had a child >> and it's not light colored anymore.
- 12:05>> Parts of it are [laughter] parts of it are not. And it's like,
- 12:09well, basically there's Well, I mean, we clean it obviously.
- 12:14>> Yeah. But replacing it just we'll just wait. [laughter] >> Yeah.
- 12:18>> Yeah, we'll wait. Just wait till those hands are a little bit more steady.
- 12:22>> Yeah. Yeah. She likes to eat, drink
- 12:26things on the couch and she's >> just don't give a [ __ ] [laughter]
- 12:32frankly. She just does not care. >> Spill [ __ ] And then you go, "What
- 12:37happened?" Well, it wasn't my fault. It just fell out of there. Like, [laughter] oh, okay.
- 12:42All right, mate. [snorts] >> She's learned from me. It's never your fault. [laughter]
- 12:47>> She [ __ ] has, mate. Yeah. Very funny.
- 12:53>> So, I see under here there was an Iron Man game.
- 12:57>> Uh, yeah, I would be interested in in seeing this uh or playing this. Okay, we
- 13:03can see it because they've kind of some um footage has leaked. Uh, this is a
- 13:09while back. This is in the early 2010s. Uh, and it was the guys who made Just Cause, which
- 13:16>> okay, >> those were cool games. And I could see an Iron Man game in that style being
- 13:22pretty [ __ ] sick. Uh, and so yeah, there's some footage now of um Oh, hang
- 13:28on. Is that an ad? >> Yeah, it is an ad.
- 13:34>> Horrible ad to start with. >> Yeah. Um, I guess it got cancelled, unfortunately. Yeah.
- 13:40>> Uh, which is a real bummer. And then, you know, Yeah. See, here we go. Footage
- 13:43of the game. >> Yep. >> Wait. Oh, this doesn't actually contain the
- 13:49footage of the game. [ __ ] you, IGN. What is this [ __ ] >> Yeah.
- 13:53>> Anyway, it's a video just telling me that there's footage of the game.
- 13:56>> It's footage cuz it's probably being they're too afraid to put it up being taken down.
- 14:02>> Anyway, it's floating around. >> Probably just a rogue developer that
- 14:05went, "Look, I'll put a lot of work into this. I want someone to see it. It's
- 14:08been long enough. >> I saw it earlier in the week. It I
- 14:10didn't look at it properly. I should have cuz now I probably won't be able to
- 14:12find the [ __ ] thing. Um anyway, it's just people are sad because this would
- 14:16have been great. >> See, I wish we didn't get Anthem, but we
- 14:20had have got an Iron Man game because >> Anthem was terrible, but it was
- 14:25basically Iron Man. >> Anthem was kind of fun. >> It was until you had to play with
- 14:32someone. >> Yeah. And >> one time I did go and play try and play
- 14:36it again and I because you have to play with someone. I joined up with someone
- 14:41who's just played through the game a million times. So, they're just flying
- 14:44ahead, destroying everything, doing the mission, and I'm no, I want to explore
- 14:48and try and find stuff. And no, >> that's my experience playing Diablo 3
- 14:53with Dave back in the day. [laughter] >> And he was like, "Let's team up." And he
- 14:58would just [ __ ] off. And then he was like skipping all the dialogue. And I'm
- 15:00like, "Hey, I'm leaving the party. [ __ ] [laughter] you."
- 15:04>> Yeah. I'm here to enjoy the story. I know you've already played it, but
- 15:08>> yeah. I don't play games as as as uh hardcore as you guys unfortunately [laughter]
- 15:15for me. >> I know you would skip the dialogue on your first playthrough because you don't
- 15:19give a [ __ ] >> I Yeah. >> Well, especially on Diablo. >> Yeah. I mean,
- 15:25>> yeah, >> I get the gist. I don't skip as fast as Dave, but I get I I do skip a little
- 15:29bit. I get the gist. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> The devil's out to kill us all.
- 15:35>> Go save the town, >> Diablo. El Diablo, I think that's his
- 15:40name, his full name. L Diablo. >> Um,
- 15:45>> and on the topic of uh digital games, actually, uh, PlayStation has pissed
- 15:51everybody off again. Remember they were doing this, you they said they're not
- 15:54going to make physical discs anymore. Everyone got mad. >> Yeah.
- 15:56>> Because then they keep taking movies away from people and and I think games
- 16:00too, I think. Uh, and then now they just, like I said, have been this big
- 16:04push about how like we're not going to make physical discs anymore because we
- 16:07don't think people want them. And then they sent out just marketing, not
- 16:10marketing, like a terms of service reminder thing this week basically to to
- 16:15everybody, you know, they companies do that from time to time and but the gist
- 16:19of it was um, hey guys, yeah, we're not making physical discs anymore. And then
- 16:24they sent an email saying, oh, by the way guys, you don't own your games.
- 16:27We're just giving you a license to play them and we can take them away. And then
- 16:30everybody was like, "You [ __ ] morons." [laughter] >> Yeah. The worst time.
- 16:36>> I mean, not that anyone could do anything about it, but >> No. >> Yeah.
- 16:40>> But they probably there's probably some legal thing that they have to send out
- 16:43updates every now and again, but I'm sure >> No. >> Yeah. Read the room. Like, everyone's
- 16:49mad at you about this [ __ ] It's not Now's not the time to be uh reminding
- 16:53people about that >> cuz we we already know. We're already not happy about it.
- 16:59>> Yeah. I mean, I guess that's the thing. >> I guess maybe it's it's like a good a
- 17:04good person at marketing over there was like, I'm going to do this now because
- 17:08let's just get this all out of the way. >> Yeah. >> Everyone's already pissed off. Let's
- 17:12just lean into it. >> Yep. Yeah. Yeah. I could see that. Um
- 17:19I am looking at maybe I'm buying a Blu-ray burner and I'm going to start my
- 17:23own NAS. So, we're just going to burn my Blu-rays, keep it all stored, and start
- 17:27doing that, I think. I've already got one, mate. That's uh
- 17:33>> I don't have a Blu-ray burner yet. >> No, I don't have a burner. I've got a a
- 17:38drive to rip them. I don't Yeah. >> Oh, no. To rip. Yeah.
- 17:43>> Like I say, that say burners are [ __ ] expensive. But a drive, you can read
- 17:48them. Yeah, no worries. Uh >> um >> yeah, I got a Naz here
- 17:54>> in the house. We do have one in a box somewhere,
- 17:57>> but I haven't set it up. And I Yeah. And I'm thinking about Yeah. getting
- 18:00Blu-rays and just starting to rip them and >> Yeah. Yeah. I've been doing that.
- 18:06>> I don't know if I should. >> And then I do >> mention that publicly, but yeah. I mean,
- 18:10plenty of people talk about it on YouTube. That's how I knew how to do it. Um >> Yeah.
- 18:15>> And uh I've actually thinking of So I've got it's basically one. It's a computer.
- 18:21It's an old computer that I've set up. It's got uh like seven [ __ ] hard
- 18:25drives hooked up to it at this point. Um with like RAID redundancy like two
- 18:31mirror drives and stuff like that like >> so one fails you don't lose it
- 18:38>> like a with a backup drive and I swap I take a backup drive to Vermont and I
- 18:42swap them out. I keep one one here because I back up photos and stuff too
- 18:46too. It's not just movies and [clears throat] [ __ ] Cuz actually I
- 18:49probably don't need to back up the movies >> cuz if like worst case scenario,
- 18:54>> you've got >> I've still got them like I could just rip them again or whatever. But
- 18:58>> it's just a cool thing to do. >> Yeah. And cuz I've got it once I get to
- 19:02a point where there's two so many on there that they don't fit on the backup
- 19:05disc, I'll probably just say, "Oh, back up the movies, back up my photos and stuff."
- 19:09>> Yeah. >> Instead. Anyway. Um >> or you just buy bigger drives,
- 19:13>> right? more often cuz it's cool things >> because drives are so expensive now. >> Yes.
- 19:18>> That I don't know. But I cuz I probably I was thinking about expanding it but
- 19:22not not right now. >> No, you can't now. It's going to be years until we can expand again
- 19:27>> cuz the thing I was going to say is it also I've started on the same box. It
- 19:31runs true which is like a y like a BSD based um like server
- 19:37>> operating system. Um it's got like apps and stuff on there. It's got Plex, which
- 19:41is how I play the movies and stuff like that. It's got uh Caliber for ebooks.
- 19:46It's got um uh this thing called image which is basically like a open source
- 19:51version of Google Photos. >> Okay. >> So I back up all my photos on there and
- 19:56then and then I back those up onto the backup drive. So it's like actual
- 19:59backup. It's not just because cloud's not really backup as such. >> No. >> Um
- 20:04>> and I've been adding more and more stuff to it. And now I've got this thing
- 20:07called NADN which is like a automation thing where you set up these nodes and
- 20:12you can do various things and that's how you know I told you I get emails of the
- 20:15news articles that I use to keep track of what to put in here. >> Yep.
- 20:18>> So I've got this thing running on the server downstairs that pulls in RSS
- 20:23feeds from all these like IGN and like um and like Dark Horizons for movie news
- 20:29and just even like um Penny Arcade for comics and stuff like that. And then I
- 20:33have a prompt that I send them all to Claude [laughter] and I say, "Okay,
- 20:38stuff. These ones are essential. Always tell me about these ones." >> Yeah.
- 20:42>> The rest of this stuff. And there's like like I don't know like a hundred websites.
- 20:48I go through the articles. >> Tell me what you think. >> What you think I'll
- 20:52>> what you think will be interesting. And then it sends me an email
- 20:55>> and then I say, "Don't send me more than 20 at a time." >> Yeah.
- 20:58>> Yeah. That's how I keep track of things at the moment. And it's works pretty
- 21:02[ __ ] well. But anyway, that's all running on that server, too, with like
- 21:06there's one called ROMs, which is like you put your old game ROMs on there,
- 21:09stuff like that. Anyway, it's kind of I'm putting a lot of stuff on there. >> Yeah.
- 21:13>> And uh I was like, maybe I need another box because [laughter]
- 21:18I should probably not be doing all of this because I just installed Olama,
- 21:21which is like uh like a home LLM. >> Yep.
- 21:26>> But that's going to chew up some memory. So, uh yeah. Anyway, I'm maybe going
- 21:32overboard on it a little bit and I was like, maybe I should be doing this sort
- 21:34of different >> You're having fun with it, though. That's the main thing.
- 21:37>> Yeah, I've even got I've got a little Mac Mini somewhere in the house. I need
- 21:40to find out where it is, but I was like maybe I should be running, you know, the
- 21:44O Lama stuff on that instead. It's not a new one, so it's not not one of everyone
- 21:48runs them on the new um Apple silicon ones. This is an old one, but >> yeah,
- 21:53>> just to keep it off, >> you know, my NAZ with my important backups on it. >> Yes.
- 21:58>> As long as you're having fun. I am.
- 22:02I am. It is very fun.
- 22:06Yes. Uh we've got some Witcher news. >> Three things,
- 22:11>> which is weird cuz we It's not that we have Witcher 4 news. We have Witcher 3 news.
- 22:16>> Wait, we have one piece of Witcher 4 news, which is just that it's coming out in 2028,
- 22:21>> which is not too bad. >> No, but you've got to wait a little bit
- 22:24for that. But uh yeah, so that's the single piece of Witcher 4 news. The
- 22:28Witcher 3 news is pretty [ __ ] sick. So,
- 22:34>> it's we're getting a upgrade for it, so it's going to look
- 22:38even better. And it looked amazing to begin with, I thought.
- 22:41>> It's been a while since I played it, though. But I remember it looking good.
- 22:45>> Mhm. Yeah, it technically came out on Xbox One and it already looked good. it
- 22:51came and then when the Series X came out, they did a nextG update
- 22:58>> and made it look better. But this is a full-on remaster of it
- 23:02>> with uh changed like mechanics to improve the combat, improve the skill
- 23:08tree, like just tons and tons of stuff. Basically like a fullon remaster of the game.
- 23:13>> It's free. >> It's free. Uh, and it's got they got a
- 23:18new expansion for the game coming out. >> Yeah. >> Like [ __ ] man. [laughter] What? T
- 23:25Project Red is like like it just seems like
- 23:31>> if you were just like purely profit focused, you wouldn't do this.
- 23:36>> You wouldn't do this. >> You wouldn't Why would you do this? But
- 23:38I just love that they did. They've done like I mean they'll make money off it
- 23:42because people will buy I assume pay for the expansion >> but like
- 23:46>> the expansion you're gonna have to pay for. I did they have also done something
- 23:49else on Steam. They did up the price of the game by $10.
- 23:52>> Fine. But a lot of people already played it or already own it rather I should say. So
- 23:57>> yeah. So I don't think that's too bad. >> No. I just think it's sick. Yeah. So
- 24:03it's a free update September September what 10th or something. No 29th. Way up.
- 24:08And then we get the new DLC. And so this must be so cuz the Witch of Four is
- 24:14going to be based on Siri, isn't it? >> Yep. >> Yeah. So they probably had more story
- 24:19for for um Geralt. Gerald. >> Gerald. Yeah. >> So they had more story for Gerald that
- 24:24they wanted to get out there and they want more people to play Gwent.
- 24:28>> Yeah. There's more Gwent. They've confirmed that and people are happy. I
- 24:30wonder if they changed Gwent. Gwent was fun. Um, I wonder if they've added any
- 24:36more mechanics because, you know, as you play the new types of cards and stuff
- 24:39like that, I'm presumably that's going to happen again.
- 24:42>> Well, it's Gwent. It's easy when you're playing a single player game. When you
- 24:45actually played Gwent, it was actually quite hard. >> Oh, and people complain because when
- 24:49they made the standalone Gwent game, it was very different, but it's like Yeah, because
- 24:54>> it was not actually balanced in No. >> in the in the game. Like, it was heavily
- 24:59winnable like Yeah. It was Yeah. It wasn't a very good actual game.
- 25:04>> It was very addictive still, but Yeah. It wasn't a fair game.
- 25:08>> Yeah. Right. Yeah. It like It was not balanced for two humans to play it. It
- 25:12was a game that you play against the computer. >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
- 25:16>> And I remember towards the end of the game unbeatable deck that's just 10 10
- 25:22and >> Yeah. It was not Yeah. The version that was in the game wasn't designed to be
- 25:27played by two humans against each other. Yeah. >> And I knew when they released a quick
- 25:31game, I wasn't going to like it because >> no, >> I don't like those games where you have
- 25:35to pay attention to your cards and build a strategy and you like any customizable
- 25:40card game. You have to >> no order cards and >> I've tried a lot of times.
- 25:47>> Just can't do it. >> It's not for me. >> No sherwent.
- 25:52>> Yeah. In the Witcher, I'll play that. >> Yeah. Where it's heavily balanced in my favor.
- 25:57>> Yeah. [laughter] If I lose, I just reload. >> Yeah.
- 26:03>> Oh, here's something. We were talking about um Star Citizen Squadron 42. >> Oh, yeah.
- 26:10>> So, it's now officially been delayed. >> Yeah. >> And they're calling out
- 26:16>> Why is it GTA 6, which >> Yeah, >> I sort of get.
- 26:22>> Yeah. No, no, they look had to delay it for 10 years because of GTA 6. Luke, [laughter]
- 26:28>> if you do look at the release for a year, nothing is releasing near GTA 6.
- 26:34Like, >> I completely understand. It's just that it's just like [ __ ] you again. Like,
- 26:41it's just because of that. >> It's not like they're releasing for like
- 26:44they're releasing for at least 6 months. >> Yeah.
- 26:47>> Like they've pushed it back another six to seven months. >> Yeah. It's
- 26:51>> and still haven't committed to a date >> and they've just shown everybody that
- 26:54it's not [ __ ] ready. Like, >> yep, >> they just had a massive issue with their
- 26:59[ __ ] live stream and everyone the game doesn't work
- 27:02>> at the release windows at the start of 2027 and decided that Q2 provides a
- 27:06better time. Release a date like commit to something, not go >> mid next year,
- 27:11>> next year sometime. >> Yeah. And someone on Reddit said, uh, oh, I
- 27:17look forward to, uh, Q2 next year when they delay it again. [laughter]
- 27:25But yeah, I do I can understand even though the competition's not really there because
- 27:30>> GTA 6 won't be releasing on PC. >> So that'll be their excuse for next year
- 27:35is sorry GTA 6 is coming out PC so we're going to have to delay it again for another year.
- 27:40>> We'll see in 2029. Well, they said they said I think it they said that. It's
- 27:45just that no one's going to be talking about anything except GTA, which
- 27:49>> I mean it's that's all true and fair. It's just that it's combined with the fact that
- 27:56>> everybody knows based on what's been happening lately that the game's not
- 27:59ready. So, it's kind of like >> it's like Yeah. Yeah. >> They're going like at cuz they're
- 28:05basically like two years ago we said we'll ship sometime in 2026.
- 28:09>> Yeah. That's all. kickstarted it, wasn't it? 2016 it was supposed to come out.
- 28:13>> Oh, yeah. >> Like,
- 28:16>> but yeah. No. So, we'll wait and see. I don't think it's ever going to come out.
- 28:22I wonder if the voice actors got paid for it >> cuz like Mark Hamill did voices for it
- 28:28and everything. >> Do you know I read does this where was
- 28:31this article? Uh I read something about
- 28:36um was it in the comments of this? Someone linked it. Anyway, it grain of
- 28:40salt, right? This is this is a thing. This is something I read this week about
- 28:43Chris Roberts in particular. >> I didn't because I didn't know this.
- 28:46Like I did he did Wing Commander and everything, right? >> Yes. >> Then >> great game.
- 28:51>> He um he had a falling out with uh and
- 28:56left Origin or whatever. Anyway, he ended up working on Privateeer, right?
- 29:02>> Oh, yes. Freelancer. >> Sorry. Yes, you're right. Freelancer.
- 29:05>> Got picked up by Microsoft. Mhm. >> And allegedly, >> yes.
- 29:11>> Funnled the money that he was supposed to use for that game
- 29:17>> into making the movie. Okay. So, this is true. I didn't know this.
- 29:20>> It's on this article you've got on here. We read it is explaining what happened.
- 29:25>> Okay. Okay. I knew I'd see I wasn't sure if it was in this or not. Oh, yeah.
- 29:28You're right. Here we go. Expand this. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
- 29:30>> Yeah. And so, he he misappropriated funds and there was a whole big lawsuit
- 29:35about it. Uh, and Microsoft finished the game, not them.
- 29:40>> And I I just didn't know any of that stuff. And also, he's um
- 29:45>> something else. Ascended pictures. His company used money from VIP
- 29:50Medinfold, a German tax shelter fund. Uh, just I don't know, just a bunch of
- 29:55dodgy [ __ ] that Chris Roberts has done allegedly. I just didn't know about.
- 30:01It seems like all these people were giving if this is all true, people
- 30:05should not have been giving this spare money. >> It just it just it just explains a lot,
- 30:09right? If he's been doing this if like again I know people are mad at them
- 30:13right now and maybe they're being harsh, but if this is true does explain some of
- 30:18the dodgy [ __ ] >> cuz we we always I always thought that
- 30:23it was like they just got too much money and scope creep like we'll keep adding
- 30:26all this cuz we keep getting more money. We got to add this and add this and then
- 30:29oh technology's improved. We have to rebuild it all again for this.
- 30:36>> It happens. Look at J forever. Same thing. >> Yeah, that does happen. But it also
- 30:39seems like he may not have been according to this handling the money >> the best way.
- 30:46>> Yeah. Or just questionable ethics as far as money and stuff like Yeah. like like
- 30:52that that thing about like oh made the movie using money that was supposed to
- 30:55be for the game like oh okay that's dodgy like >> yeah and
- 31:01>> I still like that movie >> I haven't seen it in a long time I've I think
- 31:06>> it's it's it's >> I think it's on >> good watch it's um
- 31:11>> Matthew Lillard and oh what's his name >> Freddy
- 31:16>> Freddy Yeah I was going to say Freddy Sarah Michelle Gella's husband
- 31:19>> yeah that's what I was going with well he's better known as Sarah Michelle
- 31:25Gella's husband but >> yeah he's a I was going to say he didn't
- 31:29do movies but he did the new I know what he did last summer >> yes >> I wish he did
- 31:36>> ah yeah [sighs] I mean that movie was not very good but uh >> no
- 31:41>> it was nice to see them back him >> yes >> Jennifer
- 31:45>> I don't think they did good for his character [laughter]
- 31:48>> no they didn't make no sense kids. Yeah.
- 31:53Oh dear. And the [ __ ] What else was I going to say? It doesn't matter.
- 32:00>> It's It's'll come back later. >> It's just all so dodgy. >> Yeah.
- 32:06>> Um Oh, I was going to say project management, right?
- 32:11>> It it same duke forever. I say what you will about gearbox, but remember like
- 32:15mismanagement, juke dick forever. What? How long was that in 12 years or
- 32:19something like that? >> Yeah. just the same similar I guess where they were like
- 32:23>> constantly changing the engine, adding things completely changing, new games
- 32:27would come out. Oh, we need to add that kind of gameplay to our game constant
- 32:30blah blah blah blah blah. >> And then again, say what you will about
- 32:33Gearbox. They bought the rights to it and they just said no, we'll finish the [ __ ] game.
- 32:38>> Just just release what you have. You're not starting a game.
- 32:40>> This is what it is. Finish it. And they did. So, >> and it was terrible.
- 32:44>> That's how you manage a project. >> Yes. [laughter] Like you have to say no
- 32:48at some stage and just this is going. >> Yes. This is not going to be the
- 32:54greatest video game in the world. It's just not >> No, you just have to accept it. We're
- 32:59going to try and cut our losses. You've got a build that's playable. Ship it. >> Yeah.
- 33:05And they did. >> Yep. And it was horrible.
- 33:09>> Yeah. Yeah. And I guess they had the benefit of like no one was going to
- 33:14blame them if it for it being [ __ ] So >> but like I said that's you just have to
- 33:20do that just say no no no just wrap it up guys.
- 33:23>> Whereas yeah Star Citizen it's from what we've seen it's not even close to
- 33:28>> so I just wonder >> they just stop and just focus on bugs and ship.
- 33:32>> Yeah. Yeah. Is it is it I I've not been following it that closely. Is it that
- 33:36they took on too much they keep and like it was always too big or have they
- 33:41changed it over time and they keep adding? >> I think they've changed it over time.
- 33:44Added more stuff. But remember it's meant to be like as big as
- 33:49oh no man's sky with like planets everywhere and you can fly and you can
- 33:54land on them. Like it's meant to be a huge universe where you can go anywhere.
- 33:59I mean, No Man's Sky is evidence that you can do that with a small team, >> but like
- 34:05>> the the way >> Hello Games did what we just said. They
- 34:09got to a certain point and they were like, "Okay, we got to [ __ ] finish
- 34:12this up." And they put it out and it wasn't the best game in the world
- 34:15>> and they worked on it still and >> and now it's [ __ ] excellent because
- 34:19they just stuck with it, but like they released it.
- 34:23>> Yes. Well, they released it and I think they were pushed to release.
- 34:27I think they had some bad marketing from Sony on that. >> Oh, totally. Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:31>> Yeah. Yeah. >> Like oversold. >> Oversold. And then and then but because
- 34:37it was a small team and the amount of money they made from it, they were able
- 34:41to Well, we're just continue to work on it and finish what we sold.
- 34:45>> I'm amazed how they still just based on when it came out just how the reception
- 34:51for No Man's Sky was just so negative. >> The fact that it's what, how many years
- 34:56later is it now? 10 years since that came out >> and they're still releasing content.
- 35:00>> Yeah. Like literally the other day they put out a massive update and I don't
- 35:03know like if you're watching this and you haven't if you remember when No Man
- 35:07Sky came out and remember thinking, "Oh, this is a bit shit."
- 35:10>> Go back to the game. It's not even the same [ __ ] game. It's It's amazing.
- 35:14>> Like every time I go, "Look, I'm going to go play it again. I'm just going to
- 35:18play through the story. I get distracted with new stuff they've added and I'll spend
- 35:23>> hours just building a base with a factory and >> yeah and it's like iterative like
- 35:29they'll release something and you go ah yeah this is kind of cool but like it's
- 35:33a bit clunky and then you and then I stop playing it and I come back like a
- 35:36couple of months later and it's just like the feature is just like completely
- 35:39expanded and it's like it's just turns into I don't know they just like I said
- 35:43iterating on it and iterating on it and it's it's just become really great. But
- 35:46I think they can because the game is also like graphics wise it's not intense. It's
- 35:52>> sure >> everything whereas Star Citizen is going to be >> very heavy on that and
- 35:56>> I think it's going to suffer for it. >> But we'll see. They know what they're
- 36:03doing. They're on >> maybe. >> Although you can I guess you can play it
- 36:09right Star Citizen if you want to. You could back it and play it right now.
- 36:13>> You could you can play a version of it. Yeah. But
- 36:16>> I'm not going to. But you could. All right. >> No, you'll see.
- 36:21>> Uh, look, I've been watching some stuff. We >> You've been watching a lot of movies.
- 36:26>> Yeah, I've got I've got time at the moment. My um, you know, school starts
- 36:30next week. My daughter's going to kindergarten. Um, I've had to work. So,
- 36:35you know, I stayed here, >> but my wife and my daughter uh, went
- 36:39away for a girls weekend with some friends, >> which means no pants in the house.
- 36:44>> Yeah. So there's my wife is now dealing with more than one child and [laughter]
- 36:48that's going as well as expected. Um her and her friend. >> Um
- 36:55but I've been here >> watching movies
- 36:59>> having a lovely old time. I am basically caught up on the MCU as much as I care
- 37:05to get caught up. >> You are. You are. This is Fantastic
- 37:08Falls. The last one out and you've watched that on top of the others. I
- 37:12have watched this week Black Panther Wakanda Forever. >> Mhm.
- 37:17>> Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, aka the New Avengers, and
- 37:22Fantastic 4: First Steps. >> Now, with McConda forever, did you spend
- 37:27half the movie trying to work out when the Black Panther was going to show up?
- 37:30>> No, I knew I knew I knew Chadwick Boseman had died. [laughter]
- 37:34>> Yeah, I still when I saw that, I was waiting for so long to show that. Yeah,
- 37:40but waiting for >> Black Panther at the end. >> Waiting for him.
- 37:44>> That movie. Okay, we let's go through them. Wakanda Forever. Uh, I didn't
- 37:48dislike it. It was It wasn't great. I can see
- 37:54it would have been difficult because because Chad Bman died and they they
- 37:59presumably were already in >> pre-production when that happened.
- 38:03Um, I wanted to like it more because the stuff about uh God what? Not the they're
- 38:09not Atlantan in in it. They're tech something. It's like a Mayan sounding
- 38:15city, you know, the underwater people. >> Oh, yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Vaguely. It's
- 38:19been a while. >> Okay. Well, they're very they're all
- 38:21mess messes American cuz they're Mayan descendants. Like, you know, the story
- 38:25is that the the the Spanish came and then the they
- 38:29>> drank the liquid from the vibranium flower and it turned them into the blue
- 38:35underwater people. They got gills and they went licked underwater. That's the
- 38:39back. Anyway, I've I've I've been to Yucatan last year. I [ __ ] love mines.
- 38:45I've got [ __ ] Mayan stuff. >> I love I love it.
- 38:49>> Yeah. Like so when that when I realized oh that's their [ __ ] Mayan
- 38:56>> like they speak Yucate Maya the language that the that they speak is a real
- 38:59language that that a very a unfortunately vanishingly small number
- 39:04of people in Yucatan speak. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So I was like oh this is sick.
- 39:09>> But it just wasn't very interesting. [clears throat] >> Uh unfortunately.
- 39:12>> Yeah. What what kind of felt more of a filler movie? It didn't really feel
- 39:17>> well I think I giving them credit they probably thought they were going to have
- 39:22Chadrick Boseman and then they had to like figure out [ __ ] what do we do and
- 39:26then like I mean not that I have no problem with her becoming Black Panther.
- 39:29That was I thought that was good. actually that that last bit of it I was
- 39:34like, "Oh, this is good." And then >> it's just that the rest of it was kind
- 39:37of like it's kind of meandering all over the place and I was like, "What's going on?"
- 39:42>> Still when they didn't really know what the future held, they were still in that
- 39:46in between. >> Yeah. I feel like all of these movies I
- 39:50mean they got better as we go through. Spoilers. >> I [laughter] felt like So yeah, all of
- 39:55these were kind of like treading water. >> Yeah. like
- 40:01we want to get out but we don't know what we're doing here. We don't have an
- 40:04end goal in sight like we did for >> not only that sh but also that whole
- 40:09thing with Jonathan Majes happened >> so I think a lot of these were probably
- 40:12supposed to be leading up to Kang. >> Yes. >> And then he hit his girlfriend
- 40:19>> turned out to be a horrible horrible person >> and and they were like a [ __ ] So like,
- 40:24you're right. They're just like little self-contained things that I I think
- 40:28they must have had to quickly shift. That's my that's what I'm guessing.
- 40:32Anyway, so what kind of forever? It was all right. >> Yep. >> You know, didn't
- 40:35>> tell me the one I really want to know about is Captain America cuz that's what
- 40:38I haven't seen. >> I Captain America also I felt was a bit
- 40:44meandery and then at the end honestly when Spoilers, it's not spoiler, it's on
- 40:49the [ __ ] poster. Harrison Ford plays uh what's his name? the the the general
- 40:52who becomes the president. >> Um but he's been poisoned by the this
- 40:58villain. Uh did you care about spoilers at all? >> No, I don't.
- 41:02>> Okay. So, you find out Thaddius. Thaddius [ __ ] what was his name?
- 41:08Can't remember. Uh it's Harrison Ford now instead of what's that guy's name?
- 41:14Jeff. Jeff. Uh the guy from Lost in
- 41:18Space. William Hurt. William Hurt. Wait,
- 41:22William Her Thaddius MCU. Was he in the MCU? Am I making this
- 41:28up? Yes. Thaddius Thunderbolt Ross. That's interesting. I'll come back to
- 41:34that. Thaddius Ross was the character William Hurt played him and now Harrison Ford
- 41:39plays him in this one. >> Now, is it because he died?
- 41:43>> No, I don't know why. In fact, they make a joke about it because uh like William
- 41:50Hurt had a mustache when he played him and then there's like one flashbacky bit
- 41:54where Harrison Ford has the mustache and then they make a comment at one point
- 41:56about how his daughter told him he had to get rid of the mustache. [laughter]
- 42:00>> So, he does not have the mustache anymore. Um, but anyway, so he the
- 42:05villain, he's got like a heart condition >> and he's trying to reconcile with his
- 42:09daughter, Liv Tyler, >> because she's mad at him because if you
- 42:12remember the Edward Norton movie, he calls >> that's the reason she's mad because the
- 42:16Edward Norton movie >> because [laughter] Yeah. Because in the
- 42:18Edward Norton movie, he calls the military in to kill the Hulk. >> Yeah.
- 42:23>> Who she was in love with Banner. And so she's not forgiven him. And he's trying
- 42:28to reconcile with her, but then he finds out he's got this heart condition and he
- 42:30might die. And so he's desperate because he's trying >> Wow. They tied in.
- 42:35>> Yeah. It shows footage. It's got footage from those movies. Yeah. >> Wow.
- 42:39>> Um and uh so the the villain of the movie, I can't even remember his name.
- 42:45Uh is like this brilliant mutant scientist who
- 42:51cures him, but puts gamma radiation in increasing doses into the pills he's
- 42:55giving him that turns him into Red Hulk. >> Red Hulk. And so at towards the end of
- 43:00the movie, he turns into the Red Hulk and then it's fun for about 20 minutes
- 43:05cuz that was cool. >> Okay. All right. >> There is some weird [ __ ] too though where
- 43:12>> So it's Falcon who's Captain America now. >> Yes. >> Who is not a super soldier,
- 43:18>> right? >> No, >> his superpowers. He's Exactly. He just has >> He was just friends with
- 43:24>> Captain America wings and [ __ ] of vibranium. Clearly you can tell. I don't
- 43:28remember when that happened, but you can tell from seeing them do things. >> Yeah.
- 43:33>> And that's his superpower basically. >> Yeah. >> But there's bits where Hulk, Red Hulk,
- 43:39like swings, picks up a telegraph pole and swings to hit people and he like has
- 43:45it in his human arms like to stop him at one point. There's this one shot where I
- 43:50was just like, well, his arms would be ripped off. >> Yeah. >> I mean, whatever.
- 43:55>> Doesn't matter. >> Yeah, it doesn't matter. with it.
- 43:58>> It's I'm I'm just That's It's one of those things where the movie wasn't
- 44:03quite enough to have me not notice that. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But that's the movie.
- 44:09>> Should I watch it? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I enjoyed it. It was fun.
- 44:13>> Yeah. Just that was at the time where I just dropped off went, "Look, I'm not
- 44:15going any any again." And then I went to go and see Thunderbolts with Fantastic 4.
- 44:20>> Like it introduces He's I mean, if you Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I
- 44:24think was better the TV show. >> Yep. This felt like
- 44:29the first half of this really could have just been that show. I think
- 44:34>> I like that show that I know that wasn't wasn't super popular, but I quite like
- 44:39>> the story line and the fact that people were upset now like we were at peace and
- 44:42now all the people have come back and >> and that's where they introduced uh
- 44:47Walker the other Captain America, right? the guy who's in the next movie. I'm
- 44:51gonna talk about Thunderbolts, which though the the one thing I thought was um
- 44:55>> we're talking about this a little bit on chat and I said that Dan should watch
- 44:59Thunderbolts because it's worth his time. I thought Thunderbolts was good
- 45:01and he might like it, >> but then I was like if he hasn't seen
- 45:05Falcon and Winter Soldier, he's not going to know who the [ __ ] that guy is.
- 45:07Suddenly there's this guy who's like a weird Captain America and he's like a prick.
- 45:11>> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Like they don't explain who he is.
- 45:15Normally, normally you could watch the movies without watching the TV shows,
- 45:19but you couldn't watch the TV shows without the movies. But this is a bit
- 45:21different this time >> because everybody else in there, like if
- 45:24you don't know who Ghost is, ah, fine. Like, it doesn't it's not going to
- 45:27confuse you. If you don't know who Taskmaster is, it's not confusing. And
- 45:31also, spoilers also [ __ ] dies in the first five minutes for some reason. >> Um,
- 45:36>> like, but with Walker, >> that's >> it's a guy who looks like Captain
- 45:40America and has a shield, but he's a [ __ ] Like,
- 45:43>> yes. [laughter] Who the [ __ ] is that guy? Like I don't know. There's more
- 45:47questions I think with that. >> Yeah. >> If you've seen both, it's fine. It makes
- 45:51sense. But yeah. No, it would be hard for someone who had not seen that and
- 45:55you even I got to say because even Bob says that at some point like the
- 46:01character of Bob at I think when they're trying to escape the lab at the start of
- 46:04Thunderballs, Bob is like, "Who are you, Captain [laughter] America? Why are you
- 46:07an asshole?" Like it's like Yeah. I think that's a good question.
- 46:11>> Yeah. like I know why. But anyway, so yeah, uh Captain Micro World I think is
- 46:17worth watching for you. I think you would like it. Probably not everybody.
- 46:20If you don't have time >> for them, >> just watch the last 20 minutes.
- 46:24>> I think you can skip it. I actually don't know why it's on the list of stuff
- 46:27that you should watch before. >> Yeah, I found that one strange to be on
- 46:30the list personally even though I hadn't seen it. It just didn't really feel >> cuz unless
- 46:36>> maybe they just wanted more people to watch that one. [laughter]
- 46:40It does introduce new Falcon. Like there's a new Falcon,
- 46:44>> but he hasn't been in anything else really. >> So may maybe there's that. I'm trying to
- 46:48think what else is in there that maybe I'm forgetting something that was
- 46:53relevant. Uh oh. Oh. Oh, I know what it is. I know what it is. >> Adamantium.
- 46:59That's why. That's got to be why they reveal in Captain America: Brave New
- 47:04World that from the island at the end of Eternals, you know that [ __ ] celestial that
- 47:10>> I fell asleep during that. >> So that thing that never came up again,
- 47:13it came up again. So they there's a whole big scene set around it with Japan
- 47:19and America going to fight because of they're fighting over the adamantium
- 47:23that they found in the body of that celestial that they call Celestial Island now.
- 47:27>> Okay. >> Okay. So, >> that's that also leads into the X-Men and Wolverine.
- 47:32>> That's got to be why. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> There you go. I just told you. You don't
- 47:36have to watch it now. >> Adamantium is a thing now. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Um, Thunderbolts.
- 47:42>> Yep. >> I really like Thunderbolts. I think you think Thunderbolts was my favorite of
- 47:47all these movies. >> I I think it was the the one that was
- 47:50the most fun out of all of them. >> Yeah. was fun, but I think Thunderbolts was
- 47:57more my style. It was like darker and like >> I don't know. I laughed out loud. >> Yes.
- 48:03>> Multiple times in Thunderbolts. >> Yeah. No, I think Thunderbolts. Yeah.
- 48:08No, that was the best one leading up to where we're going,
- 48:13>> which surprised me because it just seems like kind of a throwaway. >> Yes. like,
- 48:18>> but no, you do realize that they're probably going to play a bigger part,
- 48:21especially when you see Spider-Man and she's back in it as well. And
- 48:26>> I haven't seen that yet. Yeah. Okay. >> She she you don't get to see her
- 48:32breasts. Sorry. >> Who are we talking about? >> Florence Pew.
- 48:38>> Oh, [laughter] who do you think I was talking about?
- 48:42>> I was like, whose breasts do you see in the other Spider-Man movies? [laughter]
- 48:46Like like Florence Pew's breast. >> Normally in Spider-Man movies, we get
- 48:52some tits, but not in this one. >> Florence Pew is all for free to nip and >> Yeah,
- 48:57>> I support her, >> man. She's [ __ ] great in Thunderbolts. I mean, they all are.
- 49:02That's It's just that that's I think the reason I liked it is because they're all
- 49:06like shitty flawed characters. It's a bit like Guardians, I guess, in a way
- 49:10where they're like they're not good guys. They're like super [ __ ]
- 49:16selfinterested generally. Like Elena is more more like
- 49:21of a a good person than you would think. But
- 49:24>> yeah, we'll do whatever she wants to get what she wants.
- 49:29>> Yes. And I also really liked Bob. Obviously, I thought Bob was a good
- 49:34character because he's goofy and silly at the start. And then when he spoilers
- 49:39the void when he has his cuz I really
- 49:43like that he's like seems like he's a bipolar superhero. They took somebody
- 49:49with a [ __ ] you know mental illness and gave him superpowers [laughter] and
- 49:54he's like he's manic. He's like the century when he's manic and he thinks
- 49:58he's a god and then he gets [ __ ] depressed and [laughter] turns into the
- 50:02void and just [ __ ] obliterates every I was like this is great. Like I really like that.
- 50:07>> Like that was cool. I Is he like that in the comics? Maybe. But I just that kind
- 50:11of parallel where it's like, "Oh, that's Yeah, he's bipolar." Like he's [ __ ]
- 50:16crashes out and >> like crashes out >> and goes real dark and [ __ ] what's
- 50:21the point of everything? I'm just going to drag everybody to hell with me. Like
- 50:25that's cool. >> Yeah, I liked it. >> I know. >> And the effect when he turns into the
- 50:31void. >> Yes. >> When he's just there's no light and you
- 50:34can just see his eyes. I was like, "Yeah, I like I liked it."
- 50:38>> And then you came into the last one, which is a very different tone to the others.
- 50:43>> Yes. I'm sad in a way that because presumably
- 50:48the Fantastic 4 will end up in the normal MCU. >> That's
- 50:54>> We don't know how yet. Well, they at the end of Thunderbolts, the postredit
- 50:57scene, the ship is there. So, presume somehow they must travel to the other
- 51:01another dimension. >> Yeah. for some reason, but we didn't find out why yet. >> No.
- 51:06>> And I'm a bit sad just because, like you said, the world of the Fantastic 4 is so
- 51:12cool and interesting. >> Yes. >> And I hopefully they'll go back to that
- 51:16universe where it's kind of like 50s. >> Yeah. The robots got the tapes that you put in.
- 51:23>> Yeah. Like it's all sort of modern but not >> Yeah. It's got like, you know, they
- 51:28listen to records instead of like [snorts] that's how they do audio stuff
- 51:33and the TVs are all like CRTs. Like Time Square's got these giant CRTs.
- 51:37[laughter] Like I just it's cool.
- 51:41>> So yeah, that that cuz that was the last one out before Spider-Man came out for
- 51:47>> Yeah, I think so. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And I really liked it. I
- 51:51>> uh I thought it did taper off for me like at the end I was just okay like I
- 51:58don't know the Galactus thing. It was weird to me he that he shows up in the
- 52:02spaceship. Uh sorry spoilers. Uh he shows up in his big spaceship at the end
- 52:07and they're like we're going to lure him in with the baby. Uh you have to watch
- 52:10the movie figure out what I mean by that. Um but they're like we're gonna
- 52:13use the baby as bait. [laughter] Galactus just wants a baby. Um,
- 52:18and then I don't think they ever showed that happening. Suddenly Galactus just
- 52:25is there and gets off that chair thing and he's on Earth all of a sudden. I
- 52:29don't know. It just >> Yeah. No, they didn't really
- 52:32>> There was a weird transition where he's the spaceship, the big ship's coming.
- 52:36They said they were going to do the plan and then it cut to Galactus stepping
- 52:40onto Earth. And I was like, okay. I mean, I I know I know I can intuit it
- 52:46what they did, but like I don't know. That just seemed a bit weird.
- 52:51>> But no, I I do I did enjoy it. And I did like the ending how that sort of first
- 52:56scene that we saw of Doom. >> Yes. Yep. >> But you didn't know who he was at the
- 53:01time. Then >> there's a theory that whatever was happening in that scene is why he looks
- 53:06like Tony Stark. I don't know what the [ __ ] that would mean exactly
- 53:10because Franklin, the baby, he's not baby anymore. He's like a toddler >> is touching in
- 53:16>> and spoilers. >> Slightly before that in the movie, you see him bring uh
- 53:23>> what's her name back? >> She she uses her powers to push Galactus
- 53:29into the the teleporter. >> Yeah. She dies. She's um >> and Franklin brings her back.
- 53:34>> Storm. >> Storm. Yes. >> Yeah. Um, Franklin brings her back like so he obviously has
- 53:41>> some sort of >> some powers. >> Powers. He's got powers. Well, and cuz
- 53:44Galactus wanted him. So, he's got presumably >> significant powers of some.
- 53:48>> Yeah, Galactus is like, "Give me the baby and Earth is I'll leave Earth
- 53:52alone." Like, there's something there. >> Leave your delicious planet alone.
- 53:55>> Yeah. He's going to eat the baby. >> No, he's going to make the baby his
- 54:01heir. I was like, "Okay, >> he's going to eat the baby.
- 54:04>> He's going to eat the baby." Yeah. >> Um, >> yeah. So, there's a theory that Franklin
- 54:11is the reason Doom looks like Captain America
- 54:18and then makes it to >> Yeah. >> I also, was it Dan that said the other
- 54:22day there's that theory floating around that Robert Downey Jr. isn't playing Doom and
- 54:28this is all just been a big [ __ ] because they've done they've done like
- 54:31lesser stuff like this before. That would be incredible. That would be
- 54:34amazing if that was a >> big smack as Iron Man and then they like [laughter]
- 54:39[ __ ] you. We were kidding. Someone else is playing Dr. Doom.
- 54:45>> That would be the biggest twist in any movie ever. Or not even movie life like
- 54:52that's >> I mean that's not going to be it. But I wish that was it. That would be great.
- 54:57>> Massive. >> We'll have to wait and see. We've only
- 54:59got till December to find out. It's only four months away. Well, see, I thought I
- 55:03was done, but I found out this week I'm not done. >> You're not done?
- 55:08>> No, there's one more. At least one more thing I'm going to have to watch. Oh,
- 55:11yeah. So, technically, I didn't watch Loki, but I know I I watched season one
- 55:14of Loki, and I through media, I know what happens at the end of Loki.
- 55:20>> He becomes the master of time or something. >> So, I don't Yeah, I don't really need to
- 55:24watch it. I don't think I I I'm I I'm able to understand what has happened
- 55:29without watching it. But I will if I get the chance cuz I liked that show.
- 55:32>> But Spider-Man, you should watch. >> Spider-Man I will watch. Um
- 55:36>> and the thing I have to watch apparently we all have to watch. We've been told by
- 55:41uh Joe Russo that Avengers Encore,
- 55:45Avengers Endgame Encore, which is
- 55:48Avengers Endgame with extra footage and kind of like remastered basically
- 55:55because they've seen sideby-side shots. So, they've they've adjusted Avengers
- 55:59Endgame in some ways. And it is required
- 56:03viewing. It's uh 4 minutes longer. 4 minutes longer than
- 56:09he [laughter] I just want to see the four minutes.
- 56:13>> No, no, you've got to rewatch it because they have changed stuff. I've seen
- 56:20sidebyside shot. I like I don't know what the [ __ ] they're up to, right? So,
- 56:23I wouldn't say I wouldn't take the four minutes extra as being it because >> yeah,
- 56:29>> even just like lighting and stuff they've tweaked and that's what they've
- 56:33shown. I don't know if that means they've changed other stuff. Like
- 56:37>> I presumably they haven't changed the plot. That would be a [ __ ] weird thing to do.
- 56:41>> They Yeah, they couldn't go that far, could they? >> Well, I don't know. Like maybe the
- 56:47camera pans around slightly differently now and you can see, oh, there's [ __ ]
- 56:51what's his name? Like I don't know. >> It's getting Don't know if Oh, no. It's
- 56:56getting a theater release. Yeah, we'll >> go see it.
- 57:00>> No, no, I'm not done. I'll just watch it. It's going to have to be on Disney Plus.
- 57:05>> I will. Three hours and five minutes. [laughter] It's
- 57:10>> so long. It's so long. All these ones were I was like they're all like 2 hours
- 57:15actually. Wakanda forever I think was longer than that. How much? Wakanda
- 57:18forever felt long. 2 hours and 40 minutes. Wakanda forever.
- 57:24That explains that. [ __ ] me. That's why. Oh yeah, Iron Hart was in it
- 57:31too. I was like, "Oh, yeah. Okay." I mean, I didn't have a problem with her.
- 57:35I was just like, "Man, this is a lot of like >> it's a it was very thin. There was a lot
- 57:40of stuff without a lot of depth." I felt like >> Yeah.
- 57:44>> Um, the other thing I was going to point out that I noticed when I looked up
- 57:47William Hurt in the MCU is that his
- 57:51character's name is Thaddius Thunderbolt Ross. And I'm guessing because in that
- 57:57in the comics, the Thunderbolts are named after him.
- 58:00>> Yeah. But not in the MCU. In the MCU, they're named after Elena's uh soccer
- 58:07team when she was a kid. >> Yes. [laughter] >> Which I think is funnier. >> Yes.
- 58:13>> So, yeah. I just thought that was interesting. Wait, William Hurt did die.
- 58:17I'm a [ __ ] idiot. >> I said he did. I said he I
- 58:24>> I thought you meant the character, I think, cuz I was just thinking back
- 58:26like, wait, why did I say he wasn't dead? He's He obviously he's dead, but
- 58:30that Yeah, I think I got confused. Yeah, William Hurt is dead.
- 58:33>> All right, I'm not crazy. >> No, no, no. I'm crazy.
- 58:39>> I am crazy thinking about going to see Avengers Endgame on call.
- 58:43>> No, I'm just going to wait for Disney Plus. >> Avengers Endgame is a good movie.
- 58:46>> Yeah, I'm just going to wait for Disney Plus. I'm going to go see Resident Evil
- 58:49the week before that'll do. >> A [ __ ] yeah.
- 58:53I'm I'm keen to watch that. M >> that I'm looking forward to.
- 58:59>> I can't believe the guy from [ __ ] whitest kids, you know, [laughter] is
- 59:02making these movies now. >> I mean, good on him.
- 59:05>> Well, that's always the dream. You don't >> Yes. Yeah. You make your [ __ ] stupid
- 59:11sketch show when you're young. >> Yeah. >> About a [laughter] The grape.
- 59:16>> Look at Edgar, right? >> Yeah. True. True.
- 59:21That sketch is so funny. I know it's not for everybody. The grapest.
- 59:28[laughter] God, >> it's so funny. The popcorn sketch.
- 59:32>> Just all of it. It's I'm getting a lot of it pop up on YouTube lately.
- 59:35>> You think you're not getting it. It's a chick with huge boobs and balls. What's
- 59:40gay about that? It's a chick. [laughter]
- 59:45>> So funny. >> Okay, tell me when this gets gay. [laughter]
- 59:55Um, in uh silly news, it's Apple news.
- 1:00:00Um, the uh the infamous polishing cloth. Do you know about this? >> No.
- 1:00:06>> Okay. So, when they a few years ago when they announced um a bunch of other very
- 1:00:11expensive stuff like I think the studio displays, not studio displays, the what
- 1:00:15are the big ones? the >> Oh, what's
- 1:00:20>> the the the [ __ ] five $6,000 displays where the stand was $1,000?
- 1:00:26>> Yeah. Like the stand was like just ridiculous price for nothing. Like
- 1:00:30>> And then I think at the same time they there was a polishing cloth. It's
- 1:00:34literally a microfiber cloth that you can use to clean your laptop or your screen
- 1:00:38>> up for dollars. >> 20 bucks. [laughter]
- 1:00:42>> And it was 20 bucks. And uh it funnily enough had like a compatibility
- 1:00:48compatibility list on the there was just a whole bunch of stuff about it that was
- 1:00:51very funny where it was like compatible [laughter] with the MacBook Pro going
- 1:00:57back to a certain year like don't use it on the ones before that. It's not
- 1:00:59compatible. [laughter] Like it was just >> what? It's a microphone and cloth.
- 1:01:03They're all the same. >> Yeah. It was just very silly. But
- 1:01:06anyway, just this week amusingly uh it's had a a price reduction. So, it's the
- 1:01:11much more reasonable $9 now,
- 1:01:16which to be clear is not reasonable for a microphone. >> No,
- 1:01:20>> you can buy a whole pack of them for $2. Like, I've got them [ __ ] everywhere.
- 1:01:25I can't get rid of the [ __ ] things. They're everywhere. [laughter]
- 1:01:27Everything comes with them. >> Yes. >> Except your Mac.
- 1:01:31>> Oh, I The sad thing is people would have been buying this.
- 1:01:36>> Yeah. And all you are just paying for the logo on a bit of cloth.
- 1:01:41>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure it's a very good microfiber cloth, but you know,
- 1:01:47>> it want to be for 20 times the price.
- 1:01:51>> Yeah. And the the the problem with it is
- 1:01:54look at it. It's like light gray. It's going to get dirty presumably,
- 1:02:01right? And you're going to have to because you throw these things away like
- 1:02:05or you throw them in the wash like I don't know.
- 1:02:07>> I like the fact that in the article they didn't even got lucky. You can buy this
- 1:02:10five pack for like seven bucks. >> Yes. I've got tripping over them mate.
- 1:02:15They're everywhere. Like you buy a [ __ ] phone screen
- 1:02:20protector, it comes with five of them. Like [laughter]
- 1:02:24anyway, just made me laugh. Yeah, it's reduced. >> Thank you, Apple.
- 1:02:29Yeah, I mean the computers are good value. I maintain that. I know people
- 1:02:34like to [ __ ] on them compared to uh you know I use a Mac. I have for a
- 1:02:39while now. I've actually we're having this conversation on chat too the other
- 1:02:43day. I've got down here under the desk. You're not going to be able to see it. I
- 1:02:45can't lift it because of my my back. >> I've got a G4 Power Mac down here that I
- 1:02:50managed to get for free cuz no one wants it. >> But I think it's beautiful.
- 1:02:55>> Does it work? >> Uh I don't know. No, it's got no RAM in it and I I can't afford RAM so
- 1:03:00[laughter] >> No, I can. >> No, I was actually thinking of like I'm
- 1:03:04I'm not going to use this for anything. >> No. >> Like,
- 1:03:06>> but what I might do So, it's the G4 tower, the the blue one. It's I think
- 1:03:11they're I love them. It was my first Mac. I think they're just really cool
- 1:03:15design and I'm sad computers don't look like that anymore. Um,
- 1:03:20but I'm thinking I might take the inside the guts out of it and put them
- 1:03:24somewhere safe because I think actually I could probably just sell those
- 1:03:26separately. Uh, like the motherboard and stuff >> possibly.
- 1:03:30>> Except I don't know if it works. >> So, I don't know. That's a thing. But
- 1:03:33anyway, I might turn it into a drink cabinet cuz the side of it latches and
- 1:03:37then pulls down. And I reckon you could put some, you know, bottles of scotch or
- 1:03:41something in there and it would make a cool drink cabinet. >> Do it.
- 1:03:44>> Yeah. And then because I mean its purpose is to look nice.
- 1:03:49>> People think to look in there and when you get to the time that you have to
- 1:03:52start hiding your alcohol from your daughter [laughter] computer.
- 1:03:56>> That's right. Yeah. Cuz when I brought it home, Jenna was like, "What are you
- 1:03:59going to do with that?" And I was like, "What do you mean? I'm going to look at
- 1:04:02it. [laughter] Look at it. >> I'm sad. >> What can't I do with this?
- 1:04:06>> I'm sad I got rid of my uh my old Well, because we moved. The only reason I got
- 1:04:09rid of it is because we moved to America and it was like
- 1:04:11>> and you had to cull stuff. I'm not paying to lug that across the world. Yeah.
- 1:04:16>> Yeah. Especially when Yeah. You weren't using it. But I knew I did get Apples do
- 1:04:20have their purpose. >> Yeah. I the the new laptops are great.
- 1:04:24Like and to to bibble [ __ ] on it because Yes. Yeah. You can buy a Windows laptop
- 1:04:28for a couple hundred bucks, but it's not >> not equivalent, right? To get an
- 1:04:33equivalent laptop, you've got to pay about the same price.
- 1:04:36>> Yeah. Yeah. No, you do. Like Yeah. That >> Yeah. Yeah, you can't buy cheap laptops,
- 1:04:40but they last >> when you get into the other stuff like
- 1:04:42the desktops and stuff like the and like the the the upcharge on [ __ ] hard
- 1:04:47drive space and stuff. Okay. Yeah. Then it gets absurd. But like for like a
- 1:04:50buying just a base laptop for general use, I think they're very reasonable.
