Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We need some coffee.
- 0:00Speaker 2: 106.7 Light FM. We're waking up, though. It's Cubby, Christine,
- 0:04Speaker 2: producer Kristen. I just warmed up coffee number two for
- 0:07Speaker 2: the morning. Had one on the way in. Yes. And
- 0:10Speaker 2: I get all my coffee for free at home and
- 0:12Speaker 2: then here. Oh. You have your coffee cart guy.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Yes, Carlos.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yes. But there's a debate online if just, you know,
- 0:20Speaker 2: coffee places like stores, like a Starbucks or whatever. Yep.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Do they open up early enough?
- 0:25Speaker 1: This is like it's going viral on social media. The
- 0:28Speaker 1: country is divided, Cubby.
- 0:30Speaker 2: So is there like a.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Do coffee shops open early enough? Some people say yes.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Some people say uh-uh.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Do they give out like a time that most open
- 0:37Speaker 2: or are we just guessing here? Because I just go
- 0:39Speaker 2: by the... There's a Starbucks two blocks away from here
- 0:41Speaker 2: and they don't open until 5 a.m. And to me,
- 0:44Speaker 2: I think that's kind of late for New York City Midtown.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Because we're already here. You know, when we're walking into
- 0:48Speaker 1: our building, there's people going to the gym next door.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Correct.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Like, we're not the only ones who are up this
- 0:53Speaker 1: early and we need our coffee.
- 0:55Speaker 2: And there's other coffee places that are not open yet.
- 0:57Speaker 1: They're not open.
- 0:58Speaker 2: That's why the coffee cart guys are winning.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yes, they are.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They're like, yes.
- 1:02Speaker 1: They're set up. They're out there. So very happy to
- 1:04Speaker 1: see them. I mean, yeah, you know, I guess it
- 1:06Speaker 1: depends on where you are in the country because some
- 1:08Speaker 1: people are complaining their coffee shops don't open until 9 a.m.,
- 1:11Speaker 1: which sounds crazy.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Where are you living?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Do you want business?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Montana.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I know. But, yeah, I mean, how do you find it?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Do you think? Coffee shops, I think in general, I'm
- 1:22Speaker 1: trying to think of like my New Jersey ones, were
- 1:24Speaker 1: never home during the week. So I'm not sure. I
- 1:28Speaker 1: think 6 a.m.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I think. For like your home?
- 1:31Speaker 1: For like bagel places and coffee shops near me. Yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Which wouldn't be early enough, obviously.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Right. I know one of the bagel places that has
- 1:39Speaker 2: coffee is 6 o'clock in Milltown, New Jersey.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I pass that a lot.
- 1:43Speaker 2: That seems late to me, too.
- 1:44Speaker 1: That seems late.
- 1:44Speaker 2: But again, Milltown, East Brunswick, where I live, that area
- 1:48Speaker 2: is still considered kind of small.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah. What about, like, do you pass any 24-hour break
- 1:55Speaker 1: glass emergency Dunkin' Donuts or Wawa or something?
- 1:59Speaker 2: There's a Dunkin' in Milltown. I mention Milltown a lot
- 2:01Speaker 2: because I drive through there on the way to work.
- 2:03Speaker 2: There's a Dunkin' in Milltown that used to be 24-7.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And about four years ago, during the pandemic, they started
- 2:10Speaker 2: opening at 6. Oh, yeah. And I think they're still
- 2:13Speaker 2: 6 because I drive by it and it's dark. Yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 2: a lot of 4.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I feel like that happened a lot after the pandemic.
- 2:18Speaker 1: A lot of 24-7 places are no longer 24-7.
- 2:21Speaker 2: But I feel like we're in an earlier state now
- 2:23Speaker 2: in the last couple of years. I feel like everything, like,
- 2:26Speaker 2: for example, the Lincoln Tunnel, you said, has an hour
- 2:28Speaker 2: delay right now. Yeah. I feel like everyone's getting up earlier.
- 2:31Speaker 1: It does. No, I think so.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Are they trying to get a jumpstart?
- 2:34Speaker 1: I think people are trying to get a jumpstart. I
- 2:36Speaker 1: think they're on to, like, if you can get out
- 2:37Speaker 1: there early, because on the weekends, like, even grocery shopping
- 2:41Speaker 1: and everything, if you went early, nobody was there, but
- 2:43Speaker 1: it's now, like, Uh-oh, they're on to us. Like if
- 2:45Speaker 1: you get up early, you can beat the crowds because
- 2:48Speaker 1: we are just overcrowded, you know?
- 2:51Speaker 2: And people are doing dinner earlier. We've done stories about that. Yes.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Which we're fans of.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Although that was like, that was our time, 4 p.m. dinner,
- 2:59Speaker 1: you know?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Now everyone's doing 4, 4.30.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Everybody's got to now get a table at 4 p.m.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but how do you feel like, where do you
- 3:05Speaker 1: land on the coffee debate? Do you think our coffee
- 3:07Speaker 1: shops need to open earlier?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, 44363 hit us up on text.
