- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five Whists Talking bow
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they whist So yes, fun. What didn't you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistle brought to you
- 0:20Speaker 1: by Draft King sports Book. Thanks for all the support
- 0:23Speaker 1: of the show. It's been great. We hit over a
- 0:25Speaker 1: million streams already. It has been crazy at the growth
- 0:28Speaker 1: of this thing, and just very thankful that you would listen.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Draft King sports Book an official sports betting partner of
- 0:34Speaker 1: the NFL. Download the Draft Kings app and use the
- 0:36Speaker 1: code Bobby sports to get in on the action. We
- 0:39Speaker 1: we said, I'll just talk a little candidly here whenever
- 0:43Speaker 1: DraftKings approached me and said, what do you want to
- 0:45Speaker 1: do a sports show? Because I have a history of
- 0:47Speaker 1: doing sports. I did a few years hosting a show
- 0:49Speaker 1: on Fox Sports. I filled in for some of the
- 0:50Speaker 1: big shows and the week days at times. But I
- 0:52Speaker 1: just did it because it's fun, and I mean I
- 0:54Speaker 1: just liked doing it no other reason. I didn't play
- 0:57Speaker 1: in the NFL. I mean some of the guys didn't,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but that no. But but they you know, they've been
- 1:01Speaker 1: doing it forever, so you just come to expect them
- 1:03Speaker 1: to have sports knowledge. For example, like a. Dug Gottlieb,
- 1:06Speaker 1: he played it play college basketball. It'll call me state though,
- 1:08Speaker 1: but so you know, I was using him an example
- 1:11Speaker 1: of just somebody I've listened to for a long time.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Colin Cowherd, he played high school. He talked about it,
- 1:14Speaker 1: just high school football. But they've been doing it so long,
- 1:16Speaker 1: and there's respect for these guys because they've been around it.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I don't deserve any respect, but the fact that people
- 1:21Speaker 1: listen and like it and the show has grown so
- 1:24Speaker 1: much it is crazy. Because we set the expectation with them.
- 1:27Speaker 1: They said, Okay, here's what we need. We need about
- 1:29Speaker 1: hundred thousands streams an episode. You know me, I'll say
- 1:32Speaker 1: yes to anything and then just try to achieve it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I'd be like, we could do that, no problem, thinking
- 1:37Speaker 1: we could get there eventually, and so whenever it was
- 1:41Speaker 1: time to go, okay, let's see what we've done, where
- 1:43Speaker 1: we should have been is like four hundred and fifty
- 1:46Speaker 1: thousands something like that, and we were like one point
- 1:47Speaker 1: two million. So and that is in the early stages
- 1:50Speaker 1: of this show, and it's growing every week. So just
- 1:54Speaker 1: very thankful for you guys. I'm gonna roll off that.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But wanted to say that we don't deserve your respect,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and you know what, may not even get it. You
- 2:00Speaker 1: may just like to listen and laugh at us, not
- 2:03Speaker 1: with us, all parts of it. But I will say
- 2:07Speaker 1: that this has been really great and fulfilling, and Mike
- 2:09Speaker 1: would you agree with that? I mean from the beginning,
- 2:11Speaker 1: it's been Mike and I putting it together and building
- 2:16Speaker 1: it out. And Mike's a big, big part of the
- 2:18Speaker 1: success of this show. So that being said, coming up
- 2:20Speaker 1: calling Cowherd, really, Kevin, did you hear it? Parts of it?
- 2:24Speaker 1: An the whole thing is you didn't go through in
- 2:26Speaker 1: the fine tooth comb like usually Yeah, no I did.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I did, but you don't listen. I mean, not the
- 2:30Speaker 1: whole entire thing from beating in. But yeah, I go
- 2:33Speaker 1: through and I cut and it's really good, Like I
- 2:35Speaker 1: really enjoyed talking with them. And the fun fact from
- 2:38Speaker 1: behind the scenes is there was some sort of tech issue.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Don't know who side it was, because it was a
- 2:42Speaker 1: computer thing, and I just heard Mike and calling cow
- 2:45Speaker 1: are talking about fifteen minutes how to fix it, and
- 2:46Speaker 1: it was like two normal people just going like, I
- 2:48Speaker 1: don't know, man, Mike, don't I don't know, how do
- 2:49Speaker 1: we get this. Yeah, it was like its own segment.
- 2:53Speaker 1: If we had that recorded, you've been like, that's crazy,
- 2:55Speaker 1: that's calling cow herd talking about his computer won't work
- 2:58Speaker 1: or our computer won't work. Uh So, just a lovely guy.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Jerry O'Connell on on Monday, and then I think Jordan
- 3:05Speaker 1: Davis will be back in studio with us on Monday
- 3:07Speaker 1: as well. Cool. So we're hitting it, man, we're hitting
- 3:10Speaker 1: I do have an update on Jerry Jones and the
- 3:13Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys situation, unheard of update that I only got
- 3:16Speaker 1: last night at like midnight. Yeah. Yeah, So I'll tell
- 3:21Speaker 1: you a little bit. I'm telling a little about tell
- 3:24Speaker 1: you a little bit. All right, let's warm up, warm
- 3:26Speaker 1: up question calisthenics, everybody on the line. All right, here's
- 3:29Speaker 1: a question. What is your usual daily breakfast? That's daily breakfast? Like,
- 3:35Speaker 1: tell me a little bit a bit about you, Eddie.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I got a boiled egg, two boiled eggs in the
- 3:39Speaker 1: morning and a protein bar. All right, show can start now. Sorry,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I forgot you had to do a while I was.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I was forgetting sometimes I'm just like I forgot to
- 3:48Speaker 1: do the start At the end, I thought you were
- 3:50Speaker 1: blowing a whistle on my egg? Yeah, yeah, two boiled eggs,
- 3:56Speaker 1: protein bar and a banana every day every day. Are
- 3:58Speaker 1: they boiled eggs in the gas station or do you
- 4:00Speaker 1: boil them? No? I boiled them myself every Sunday all
- 4:02Speaker 1: for all week. And do you crack them already? No? No, no,
- 4:05Speaker 1: they that morning. I do that in the morning. That's annoying,
- 4:07Speaker 1: the crack in it and peeling them all off. It is.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's why I don't eat oranges unless I'm sucking them.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Excuse me? Do you hear what I said? You heard
- 4:16Speaker 1: what I said? And not stutter? All right? I will
- 4:18Speaker 1: not peel an orange and eat it like a normal human.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'll only cut it having and then suck on it.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Do you remember, like I don't know if it was
- 4:24Speaker 1: like a orange juice company or whatever, but they had
- 4:26Speaker 1: a commercial where they would put a straw in the
- 4:27Speaker 1: orange and drink remember that times and it never worked.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It doesn't work, but you know what it does when
- 4:34Speaker 1: you wrap your lips, put your lips on it, and
- 4:35Speaker 1: suck on it. Okay, all right, Adam Hambroke, what is
- 4:39Speaker 1: your usual daily breakfast? Oatmeal, cranberries, peanut butter. You guys
- 4:43Speaker 1: kind of go through it. Good for you guys for
- 4:45Speaker 1: preparing stuffy kick off, Kevin, what do you guys? Same?
- 4:50Speaker 1: But we don't know. It's the same bowl. It's them
- 4:52Speaker 1: every morning we got together. Go ahead, Kevin, what was it?
- 4:57Speaker 1: Oat meal? Op me banana for the most part, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: and some maybe some almonds here and there. Instant oatmeal, yes,
- 5:03Speaker 1: of course, right here right in studio. You know, get that,
- 5:05Speaker 1: get that minute and a half. For a minute the water.
- 5:09Speaker 1: There's some water in there. Go for a minute, then
- 5:12Speaker 1: stir it up, then go for another thirty seconds and
- 5:14Speaker 1: add the banana after maybe a little honey if we're
- 5:16Speaker 1: feeling good, So that ain's super healthy. If you're getting
- 5:18Speaker 1: like kind of with all the sugar in it, well
- 5:21Speaker 1: you're trying to get the I know, not a lot
- 5:22Speaker 1: of I like, I'm not saying that's bad. I love oatmeal,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and I love the packet sugar app all that's good,
- 5:28Speaker 1: but I mean there's a lot of sugar there, so
- 5:30Speaker 1: you're trying to get the ones that are a little
- 5:32Speaker 1: more on the less sugar side. I don't I get
- 5:33Speaker 1: the sugar ones. But he was like, oh, like how
- 5:35Speaker 1: healthy that is? I want to make sure we know
- 5:37Speaker 1: it's that version. Yes, I do love taking that water.
- 5:41Speaker 1: You gotta hit it just the right amount. You gotta
- 5:43Speaker 1: put in the microwave, probably giving yourself cancer by eating
- 5:46Speaker 1: the water up. Yeah, yeah, probably right. And then you
- 5:49Speaker 1: dump it in and turns out there's a little too
- 5:50Speaker 1: much water in there. So you gotta make a decision. Now,
- 5:53Speaker 1: do you take your hand and you cover the oats
- 5:56Speaker 1: and you pour just a little out under your hand
- 5:58Speaker 1: to the water so the mix is perfect, or do
- 6:01Speaker 1: you dump half of another bag in there and come
- 6:05Speaker 1: to the thing the problem is that you got another
- 6:06Speaker 1: half bag, might as well make it the full or
- 6:08Speaker 1: sometimes what I will do. Yes, then you put just
- 6:10Speaker 1: a little more water in there and dump the full bag,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and then you got to But then the problem is
- 6:15Speaker 1: if you miss on that, then you're three. Then you're full.
- 6:17Speaker 1: You don't another meal the whole day, the whole thing.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Guys talking about what I don't eat oatmeal? Like, I
- 6:23Speaker 1: don't know what you're talking about, malto meal? Does that count?
- 6:28Speaker 1: No dog grits? Real oatmeal? I know it. Grits. What
- 6:31Speaker 1: are those tastes? Like? I've seen those, but real grits
- 6:33Speaker 1: are are just kind of bitter. Then why do people
- 6:36Speaker 1: eat that exactly? Is also not just yourself with nothing
- 6:41Speaker 1: in that's right, that's why. Yeah, or fruit like peanut butter,
- 6:47Speaker 1: peanut butter change in the game. Hey, Mike, what do
- 6:48Speaker 1: youat for breakfast? Rotein bar and a black coffee? That's it.
- 6:52Speaker 1: It does not seem healthy for someone who really invest
- 6:55Speaker 1: in their health and always it does not seem very
- 6:57Speaker 1: healthy good for you. I'm talking about what's not that's
- 7:00Speaker 1: not bad for you, But it's not like enough to
- 7:02Speaker 1: fuel your body to get all that you need throughout
- 7:05Speaker 1: the day. I'm pretty good with that even that for years.
- 7:09Speaker 1: When is your first snack probably around now, I don't
- 7:13Speaker 1: feel like that's enough, not enough fuel. It's not enough
- 7:15Speaker 1: fuel for your body to even break the stuff down faster.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know if I've ever seen Mike eat,
- 7:19Speaker 1: actually think about it. I never eat. I have a
- 7:24Speaker 1: friend who had hemorrhoid surgery and then is so so
- 7:26Speaker 1: his butt hole shut after he had it. And the
- 7:29Speaker 1: only way after the hemorrhoid surgery to get the butt
- 7:31Speaker 1: hole open was to use the bathroom so hard that
- 7:33Speaker 1: ripped back open. Because this is a true story, and
- 7:38Speaker 1: so I was like, because he was talking about he
- 7:40Speaker 1: wouldn't eat for a while because I had a hemorrhoid
- 7:43Speaker 1: as well, from when I was training for traath lins.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I don't even know what it was. I just do.
- 7:45Speaker 1: One day I looked down this blood coming out of
- 7:47Speaker 1: my butt in the toilet, and I called the doctor.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Didn't know the doctor. I just called a doctor and
- 7:53Speaker 1: I was like, hey, I think I'm dying. That's how
- 7:55Speaker 1: I led the call. And they were excuse me, what
- 7:57Speaker 1: what you know? You can call nine on one, I said,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I blend the toilet out of my butt. I didn't
- 8:04Speaker 1: even answer the question of why did you not call
- 8:06Speaker 1: nine one? I would think I'm dying too. Yeah, And
- 8:08Speaker 1: she goes, oh, hemorrhoid, And I was like, lady, I
- 8:11Speaker 1: was like twenty seven. I was like seven. She was like,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you probably have a hemorrhoid. I don't think you're dying,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but why don't you come on in? And so I
- 8:19Speaker 1: went in and I you get up on the little
- 8:22Speaker 1: bed and you lay over on the side, and the
- 8:24Speaker 1: doctor's like, all right, I'm gonna And you have this
- 8:29Speaker 1: strange feeling that you need to make a joke and
- 8:30Speaker 1: you shouldn't. You shouldn't. While the doctor is looking at you, well, yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 1: and why it's about six finger in it? You shouldn't
- 8:35Speaker 1: cause I'm sure they've heard it all and it's always
- 8:37Speaker 1: a stupid joke. It's like from the seventies, because you
- 8:41Speaker 1: just want to say something to fill the gap at
- 8:44Speaker 1: least first. That's like that, that's a good one. Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 1: And so I'm over on my side and he's putting
- 8:52Speaker 1: the glove on. He's trying not to make a joke
- 8:53Speaker 1: about it's very serious, but he knows's uncomfortable for me.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I remember going on not typical Tuesday on dok
- 8:59Speaker 1: something like that. They made no sense. So for him
- 9:01Speaker 1: it was, but for me it wasn't. And he's like, yeah,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I know him, wasn't like my doctor. And so he
- 9:08Speaker 1: puts the glove on and six his finger extremely far
- 9:12Speaker 1: in him the whole and I went like this. I
- 9:15Speaker 1: went like, I went like this, whoa. I remember making
- 9:17Speaker 1: that noise, not as a joke, but that's what it felt,
- 9:21Speaker 1: because as as a finger got further up, my was like,
- 9:26Speaker 1: what's wrong with you? No, I was. It wasn't on purpose,
- 9:30Speaker 1: but I remember him going all the way with his
- 9:33Speaker 1: finger because he's feeling around for something and I literally
- 9:36Speaker 1: remember going, oh like that, and he's like, that's common,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you have to feel like and so I think he
- 9:44Speaker 1: was just trying to like tell me you don't have
- 9:45Speaker 1: to make jokes or make noises, and so it goes, yes, sir,
- 9:48Speaker 1: that's that looks like, feel like if a hemorrhoid. On
- 9:51Speaker 1: one side, he and I make another joke. I said,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I don't even ben pregnant. He didn't laugh at a
- 9:59Speaker 1: single one of them. They all they weren't that funny either.
- 10:01Speaker 1: But you just have a knee when you're that vulnerable place.
- 10:04Speaker 1: And he was like pulled his hand down and he's like, um,
- 10:08Speaker 1: so let's talk about the root of this. So do
- 10:11Speaker 1: you do any strain? Do you strain on the toilet?
- 10:15Speaker 1: I think it was the first question. I was like,
- 10:17Speaker 1: not really, I don't. At the time, I didn't have
- 10:19Speaker 1: my digestion issues at all, Like, not really. I just
- 10:22Speaker 1: go and take care of business and get off. And
- 10:25Speaker 1: he's like, okay, said what about do you do anything
- 10:28Speaker 1: straining that's not bathroom like lifting heavy weights? And I said, what,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I've been training for this triathlon for that. He goes, okay,
- 10:33Speaker 1: runners get them a lot, because for for over training.
- 10:38Speaker 1: You ready to hemorrohid Mike from running. Okay, so he
- 10:42Speaker 1: runs every day. And he had a conversation with me
- 10:46Speaker 1: because if this is bad, we're gonna have to have surgery.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And I remember thinking, oh, that would not be good.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I didn't like to finger. I'm not only like a
- 10:53Speaker 1: scalpel or. I don't know how they do that. They
- 10:55Speaker 1: open it all the way up like two loaves of
- 10:57Speaker 1: bread and then they go in and then gosh. And
- 11:01Speaker 1: so we didn't. We fixed it by some cream and stuff.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And I never had surgery, but that reminded me of
- 11:09Speaker 1: that because my friend who's a big guy, big weightlift
- 11:11Speaker 1: for Guyberian shape, he had. He had it from lifting
- 11:13Speaker 1: like squats and dead left and he said they to
- 11:17Speaker 1: make sure he didn't use the bathroom and tear. They
- 11:18Speaker 1: sewed his butthole show dangund and the only way to
- 11:22Speaker 1: get it open westers strain it. That's like, what's the
- 11:25Speaker 1: movie Human Centipede. I didn't watch that, not at either.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I just heard about it. I don't watch that stuff.
- 11:30Speaker 1: They sent they string everybody together, so think I think
- 11:35Speaker 1: the food just goes all the way through all the people. Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I feel like you do better. Okay, we took a
- 11:44Speaker 1: wrong turn there or or the exact right turn again
- 11:47Speaker 1: from me to um. So for me, I got a
- 11:51Speaker 1: couple of different cereals. I love cereal. If I had
- 11:53Speaker 1: food groups, I have four food groups. Make me the head,
- 11:56Speaker 1: the general of health. I'll go, okay, here your four
- 11:58Speaker 1: food groups, kids. I built a pyramid food food groups.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Number one food group smoothies, nice, Number two food group soup, okay,
- 12:08Speaker 1: number three food group cereal, and number four food groups
- 12:14Speaker 1: somethmody call a grab bag whatever you want. It can
- 12:16Speaker 1: be anything. It can be anything. So I have cereal
- 12:20Speaker 1: every morning, and I have a couple ones called magic Spoon.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Although if you have a big bowl of magic Spoon,
- 12:26Speaker 1: there's not a lot of sugar in it, but it's
- 12:27Speaker 1: somewhat healthy. It's expensive and it's like a big bowl.
- 12:30Speaker 1: It's almost a whole box. They trick you. It's like
- 12:33Speaker 1: buying a bag of three does from the machine and
- 12:37Speaker 1: you open there's like three chips in the Yeah, it's
- 12:41Speaker 1: kind of like that. It's a really good cereal, but
- 12:43Speaker 1: it's just a little too expensive for what they give you.
- 12:46Speaker 1: So I do that. And there's another healthy one that
- 12:48Speaker 1: I have to, and sometimes I mix them because I
- 12:50Speaker 1: want the good taste and stuff it's pretty healthy with
- 12:52Speaker 1: the stuff that's really healthy and not that good at tasting.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But I have cereal every morning. I do have a
- 12:56Speaker 1: bar um. I had these drinkable yogurts. Now there are
- 13:00Speaker 1: probotic yogurts have digestion issues that are pretty good. Although
- 13:03Speaker 1: this morning I had a vanilla didn't mean to. Should
- 13:06Speaker 1: have never been bought. Vanilla is not a flavor. It
- 13:09Speaker 1: is not for me. I need the fruit to be
- 13:11Speaker 1: of color of sort. If you were to say this
- 13:13Speaker 1: is vanilla and vanilla was now red or green or
- 13:16Speaker 1: something that was attractive to a kid, I would like it,
- 13:17Speaker 1: because vanilla is associated with just because vanilla is a flavor. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 1: it's a bean, vanilla bean, but it's vanilla, and I'm like,
- 13:26Speaker 1: I don't I don't like it. So I had that
- 13:29Speaker 1: this morning and I texted my wife, quick, please never
- 13:31Speaker 1: buy the vanilla again. She could literally take a sticker
- 13:34Speaker 1: of a strawberry and put it on there, and I'd
- 13:36Speaker 1: be like, this, this is great, baby, because I am seven.
- 13:39Speaker 1: But then I have that, and I usually try to
- 13:41Speaker 1: keep food in me until lunch and then lunch, grab
- 13:45Speaker 1: bag to have that group to grab bag for lunch.
- 13:48Speaker 1: So that's my breakfast. Um, thank you all for being here.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Here's what's coming up. The update from the Cowboys. Number two.
- 13:57Speaker 1: My wife starts hallucinating the middle of night, thinking my
- 14:00Speaker 1: favorite podcast talking about me and wakes me up and
- 14:03Speaker 1: wakes me up. It is a bizarre story. I will
- 14:05Speaker 1: tell you about it. Coming heard calling Cowherd. We'll talk
- 14:08Speaker 1: Davante all this, but first let's go over the tittle
- 14:11Speaker 1: tattle tattle? What do you got Kevin at seven point
- 14:22Speaker 1: underdogs right now? Do you think Tennessee is still lacking
- 14:24Speaker 1: respect against Maama this weekend? I think that is respect
- 14:28Speaker 1: only a touchdown dog Obama with their quarterback back. I
- 14:31Speaker 1: hear people saying that too, like, oh, Tennessee is so disrespected.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Tennessee has not been good for twenty years, the occasional
- 14:38Speaker 1: blip of, but not consistently. That is respect. Alabama, They've
- 14:42Speaker 1: been great for so long. You're a touchdown or less underdog.
- 14:46Speaker 1: That's a disrespect. Tennessee is getting respect. They might actually
- 14:49Speaker 1: go to six this, you know, we do this late Thursday.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I could see it getting a point either side. I
- 14:56Speaker 1: could see depending how people are are betting. But yeah,
- 14:58Speaker 1: that's that's respect. So I don't think they'll win. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: don't think they'll cut I think Alabama's gonna take him
- 15:04Speaker 1: outain you whoop them pretty good? Yeah, I think yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 1: I think Albabmas gonna take Tennessee. Wouldn't pretty good thirteen.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It was at seven and a half earlier in the week, wasn't.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Do you think the seven is because they feel like, uh,
- 15:19Speaker 1: Bryce Young is not playing. I think he is playing, though.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I think that's every indication has been that he is
- 15:24Speaker 1: going to play Knoxville. It's the biggest game Tennessee's, so
- 15:28Speaker 1: three points goes to the home team, regardless if it's
- 15:30Speaker 1: an even game and it's at home, they'll give three
- 15:32Speaker 1: points to the home team. So you gotta think that
- 15:35Speaker 1: they think the Tennessee is four points worse than Alabama.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But that's a lot of that's all. That's a lot
- 15:41Speaker 1: of a lot of It looks so good last week too,
- 15:44Speaker 1: they did shut up. You're getting respect, and I hear
- 15:49Speaker 1: it a lot because I'm here in Tennessee. Would be
- 15:52Speaker 1: so disrespected. You've been good for two months and respect
- 15:58Speaker 1: have they anyone? They have not really played. They played Florida,
- 16:01Speaker 1: which we see who Florida is, and they played L
- 16:03Speaker 1: s U at Death Valley at eleven am. They have
- 16:06Speaker 1: time to get hammered. Yet it's funny. They've played enough.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They've played enough teams to where if you played two
- 16:15Speaker 1: middle of the Pact teams that could pop up on you,
- 16:17Speaker 1: one usually does. So I I say they've played a
- 16:21Speaker 1: pretty good caliber of schedule for us to know that
- 16:25Speaker 1: they could have a chance against Alabama. But I don't
- 16:27Speaker 1: think Alabama will uh well not cover. I don't think
- 16:31Speaker 1: they will not cover. Yeah, so they're getting respect. You've no. No,
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'm not on people to bet that, but you don't know.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you what i'm gonna do, though, I'm
- 16:38Speaker 1: gonna go over. I'm gonna use Draft Kings, use cod
- 16:41Speaker 1: Bobby Sports, although I can't use it anything. And you
- 16:44Speaker 1: can actually make up a new spread, right, So let's yeah, yeah,
- 16:51Speaker 1: let's say it's minus seven for Obama. You could actually
- 16:53Speaker 1: make it minus ten and you get better odds, more smiles.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You can make it minus one and it less smile.
- 17:01Speaker 1: That's occasionally smile, but you can do that. I do that,
- 17:05Speaker 1: but I think I'll run it up on and have
- 17:07Speaker 1: Bama whooping them pretty good. What happened is Bama hitching
- 17:10Speaker 1: the face hard and you're like, oh, I thought I
- 17:11Speaker 1: was ready, but oh my god, they're They're bigger, fester,
- 17:13Speaker 1: and stronger. Now what do I do? Now? We get
- 17:15Speaker 1: a change our plan real quick and then the wheels
- 17:17Speaker 1: come off, just says thanks for coming, all right? What else?
- 17:20Speaker 1: If USC wins at Utah on Saturday, do they get
- 17:22Speaker 1: the respect that they deserve at number seven they already
- 17:25Speaker 1: get respected they don't deserve because their USC here's where
- 17:29Speaker 1: kind of mixes and matches. They're on the West Coast,
- 17:33Speaker 1: so we don't see them as much. West Coast football
- 17:36Speaker 1: generally in the past years has not been as strong,
- 17:40Speaker 1: so therefore it's branded as such. I mean, listen, Oregon
- 17:44Speaker 1: did not set a good example earlier this year. People
- 17:46Speaker 1: still look at that Oregan comes in all right, they're
- 17:48Speaker 1: gonna give Georgia whooped dumb. Probably not accurate to how
- 17:53Speaker 1: good Oregan actually is probably not accurate to how good
- 17:56Speaker 1: all Western schools are. But there is that association in
- 18:00Speaker 1: our mind of nobody plays ball like the SEC or
- 18:04Speaker 1: the Big twelve or the Big ten, depending on what
- 18:06Speaker 1: year it is, right, So I think they already get
- 18:09Speaker 1: more respect most of the time than they deserve because
- 18:12Speaker 1: they're USC. Where they lack a little bit of some
- 18:16Speaker 1: of their players getting notoriety is because they're in the
- 18:19Speaker 1: West Coast. But if any team is going to get
- 18:21Speaker 1: any of the extra love, it's gonna be USC. It's
- 18:23Speaker 1: not U C. L A. They haven't been good recently
- 18:24Speaker 1: at all. They more natural championship USC has. It's been
- 18:27Speaker 1: a little bit, but the liner days Reggie Bush in
- 18:31Speaker 1: the recent memory, so TikTok where line it was on
- 18:33Speaker 1: campus at USC going, hey, who wore a number? I
- 18:35Speaker 1: think a number eleven or seven or something. They were like,
- 18:36Speaker 1: we have no idea. It was one person finally saw
- 18:41Speaker 1: it's funny. And I think they're pretty good. I think
- 18:45Speaker 1: they're really good. Are they a number seventeam? Maybe I'm
- 18:47Speaker 1: gonna tell you their West Coast. I don't watch a
- 18:49Speaker 1: lot of them, I know I haven't. That's and that's
- 18:51Speaker 1: what sucks about. If you're out there, people don't see enough. Um. Yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I think it's fair. I think they're getting a good
- 18:58Speaker 1: they'll win. They got a great quarterback, they've got a
- 19:01Speaker 1: good head, coach, they're building a program. They're gonna be
- 19:05Speaker 1: really good for years to come. I think they are
- 19:06Speaker 1: where they are, and right about where they are, it's
- 19:09Speaker 1: probably where they should be. Not like Kentucky, wh they're
- 19:11Speaker 1: the biggest fraud of all the all time, of all time.
- 19:14Speaker 1: All right, what else? What's two and three team from
- 19:17Speaker 1: last year's Super Bowls and more trouble for the remainder
- 19:19Speaker 1: this year? The Rams or the Bengals? And that is
- 19:21Speaker 1: a good question, That's a really good question. And I'm
- 19:24Speaker 1: gonna say, and here's why I'm gonna say it's the Rams.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I just think the offensive line is in much worse
- 19:30Speaker 1: shape with not the hope that the Bengals offensive line has.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I think with the Bengals, you're looking for jelling, you're
- 19:38Speaker 1: looking for when is this going to click with all
- 19:40Speaker 1: these guys, the guys we brought in the off season
- 19:41Speaker 1: to actually make Joe Burrow's life better. With the Rams,
- 19:44Speaker 1: they just don't have the folks that they don't have,
- 19:48Speaker 1: the guys they're begging for people to play better than
- 19:51Speaker 1: they've ever played in their whole life. The Bengals are going, Hey,
- 19:53Speaker 1: play as good as you played before, but just with
- 19:56Speaker 1: these guys, so I think it's a little harder for
- 20:00Speaker 1: the Rams. I mean, Stafford just looks pedestrian, and not
- 20:05Speaker 1: because he is, because he doesn't have the times. I
- 20:10Speaker 1: still Burrow though, he still looks great at times until
- 20:13Speaker 1: he just gets walloped and they looks terrible. But Staffage
- 20:16Speaker 1: doesn't look very good ever, but he doesn't have time
- 20:18Speaker 1: to look good. But I think it's the Rams. And
- 20:20Speaker 1: then I also think I think they are gonna have
- 20:22Speaker 1: a harder time winning where they are then where the
- 20:26Speaker 1: Bengals are. So I'm gonna go with the Ram. That's hard,
- 20:29Speaker 1: but I think they both can still make the playoffs
- 20:32Speaker 1: and actually make a push if they can kind of
- 20:33Speaker 1: patch it up. The Cowboys ranted the Rams because ramsn't
- 20:35Speaker 1: have an offensive line, like they broke their hearts. Though
- 20:38Speaker 1: the Cowboys defense is really good and they're gonna be
- 20:41Speaker 1: really good all year. They may have an off game
- 20:43Speaker 1: or two, but the Rams offensive line was what made
- 20:46Speaker 1: the Cowboys look great. I can't wait for the Cowboys
- 20:49Speaker 1: by the Eagles. I know that I would I would
- 20:51Speaker 1: like I would love for Cooper Rush to go off
- 20:54Speaker 1: for like two fifty. I don't think I'm asking why
- 20:59Speaker 1: do you want that, just stick it to back. I
- 21:02Speaker 1: think let's hold off on. I want to hear more
- 21:04Speaker 1: about this. I think it will be hilarious if they
- 21:07Speaker 1: got let me tell you a question that we're good.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I want to hear that. I can't wait. I'll he
- 21:12Speaker 1: goes off for like two fifty I hope he throws
- 21:15Speaker 1: only two touchdowns. It has like thirty one yards rushing
- 21:21Speaker 1: and an interception, but it was only because it bounced
- 21:24Speaker 1: off the receiver's hand. So that's my thoughts on what
- 21:27Speaker 1: I would like to see happen. But go ahead the
- 21:29Speaker 1: next question, Well, next question with the Cowboys, they haven't
- 21:32Speaker 1: allowed multiple touchdowns in a game this year. Will the
- 21:34Speaker 1: Eagles be the first team to do it? Yes? Probably, Yes,
- 21:38Speaker 1: the Eagles are. I mean their weapons galore, and so
- 21:43Speaker 1: the goal is it's like weapons glore, and just make
- 21:45Speaker 1: them weapons. They scored, they scored twenty eight points. If
- 21:50Speaker 1: if they can keep them twenty four, I think the
- 21:53Speaker 1: Cowboys have a chance with a great offensive output to
- 21:56Speaker 1: put up seven. That's a lot of points for the
- 22:00Speaker 1: Cowboys because it's not like their offenses. But they're not.
- 22:02Speaker 1: They're not asking their offense to do a lot either. Know,
- 22:04Speaker 1: they're really not and it maybe it's because they know
- 22:07Speaker 1: that Rush can't or odds are he won't, or let's
- 22:12Speaker 1: just not push it because our defense is doing it.
- 22:14Speaker 1: And maybe the defense is send the tone every single game,
- 22:16Speaker 1: or they're making that decision on okay, we're gonna call
- 22:19Speaker 1: it plays based on how the defense is doing and
- 22:20Speaker 1: if they're setting us up, we're not taking any big chances.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So here's what. Here's why, Eddie. I love a quarterback controversy.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I don't care where it is, as long as the
- 22:31Speaker 1: not Arkansas. I love a quarterback controversy. I love whenever
- 22:38Speaker 1: somebody don't care who it is. I liked when Dak
- 22:40Speaker 1: was the fourth round guy and he was a quarterback
- 22:43Speaker 1: that the Cowboys didn't know what that. I rooted for
- 22:45Speaker 1: Dak because not a guy draft in the first round.
- 22:48Speaker 1: He can be the store, the same reason I root
- 22:50Speaker 1: for Cooper. You gotta think about Rush uh Central Michigan,
- 22:52Speaker 1: Western Michigan, one of those Michigan with an arrow on it.
- 22:55Speaker 1: So and Mike, you can look that up for me.
- 22:58Speaker 1: We don't de fact check, but you can just say,
- 23:00Speaker 1: but maybe Central Michigan, Central Michigan a guy who is
- 23:04Speaker 1: undrafted who gets put on a practice squad, gets cut
- 23:08Speaker 1: from the practice squad. The Giants pick them up, put
- 23:11Speaker 1: him on their practice squad, They cut him from the
- 23:13Speaker 1: Giants practice squad. The Cowboys signed them back to their
- 23:15Speaker 1: practice squad. He only even gets a shot of the
- 23:18Speaker 1: team because Dad gets hurt, comes in, starts and wins
- 23:22Speaker 1: after No, I'm just brilliant. Look, man, I understand the
- 23:30Speaker 1: I love an underdog and I love a quarter by controversy,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and it's all things I like, and it's great, but
- 23:33Speaker 1: I don't want it at the expensive wins and losses
- 23:35Speaker 1: like it's not win. Well, no, here, here, here's the deal. Win.
- 23:38Speaker 1: We know Dak is a better quarterback. We know that
- 23:40Speaker 1: we've seen Dak perform. We know you should look at
- 23:43Speaker 1: their winning percentages total of both of them. How many
- 23:49Speaker 1: games are Daxes play or a hundred games? I think
- 23:55Speaker 1: sample sizes the sample size big enough for Rush. I
- 24:01Speaker 1: would like to see the Cowboys win, and I would
- 24:03Speaker 1: like to see that him Rush play just good enough
- 24:06Speaker 1: to keep the conversation annoying. That's a great is it.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I'm a Cowboys fan, but a Cowboys fans and Cowboys fan, no,
- 24:19Speaker 1: I do I just I love. I love that they're
- 24:21Speaker 1: getting good enough quarterback play right now with Dak being down.
- 24:25Speaker 1: That it that it does, It makes it interesting, it's fun,
- 24:28Speaker 1: it's fun to watch. You gotta think, if this wasn't
- 24:29Speaker 1: a conversation that means Cowboys, you gotta be thankful that
- 24:35Speaker 1: this annoying conversation even gets to happen. And I am,
- 24:37Speaker 1: and I am thankful that we're winning. But that's it.
- 24:39Speaker 1: That's like, that's what was gonna happen. If you want,
- 24:41Speaker 1: if you want, every single game, this was gonna be
- 24:43Speaker 1: a conversation it was, so be thankful that it's an
- 24:48Speaker 1: annoying conversation. Okay, but we are going to find out
- 24:52Speaker 1: this week because Cooper Rush is going to have to
- 24:53Speaker 1: do more than than than and he's for two fifty
- 24:57Speaker 1: two touchdowns. One interception. It's gonna be tipped off of
- 25:00Speaker 1: a Cowboys, but it's not gonna be totally his fault
- 25:02Speaker 1: and probably a little high, but he should have made
- 25:03Speaker 1: the catch. And he'll rush for like thirty one yards
- 25:06Speaker 1: on a couple of plays where his protection rush running exactly,
- 25:11Speaker 1: which is why he does too, because they don't they're
- 25:15Speaker 1: not gonna spy him so breaks down. He's like, wow,
- 25:18Speaker 1: look at this something. Oh, it's gonna be great. It's
- 25:21Speaker 1: gonna be great. Okay, Patrick Mahomes is an underdog at
- 25:26Speaker 1: home for the first time in his career against the Bills.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Are you surprised by this? I am surprised, even though
- 25:30Speaker 1: it is Josh Allen and even though the Bills and
- 25:33Speaker 1: the Chiefs that's the rivalry. Now, that's the one you
- 25:36Speaker 1: always have one. That's it. That's the one you wish
- 25:41Speaker 1: for and you have to get lucky for it to happen.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You wish that you could see a rivalry in the
- 25:45Speaker 1: Super Bowl. We haven't seen that in forever, but we
- 25:47Speaker 1: got to see it in the playoffs last year. It
- 25:50Speaker 1: was awesome. It was one of the greatest games we've
- 25:52Speaker 1: seen in ten years. The two best quarterbacks in the
- 25:55Speaker 1: NFL probably will play again in the Anti Championship against
- 25:59Speaker 1: each other. They'll play in the regular season. I mean,
- 26:02Speaker 1: this is Peyton Brady early stages of it. And I'm
- 26:06Speaker 1: not comparing each one individually to either one of them,
- 26:08Speaker 1: but you wouldn't have said that about them then either.
- 26:12Speaker 1: As far as being the grades of all time and
- 26:13Speaker 1: maybe the greatest regular sets quarterback of all time, which,
- 26:17Speaker 1: by the way, it would have been except for break
- 26:19Speaker 1: I mean maybe the second greatest quarterback of all time
- 26:21Speaker 1: Peyton Manning. So I it's weird. I think Patrick. If
- 26:26Speaker 1: I were picking right now starting a team, I would
- 26:27Speaker 1: take Patrick my homes number one if we were drafting
- 26:29Speaker 1: players straight up. But if you said Josh Allen, I
- 26:31Speaker 1: would get it. It's hard to stalk. He got a cannon.
- 26:33Speaker 1: He can run, he can run through you. He's an animal.
- 26:35Speaker 1: He's an absolute animal. You have to talk about a spy.
- 26:39Speaker 1: You can't ever let him just play quarterback. You've got
- 26:43Speaker 1: to also play him as a running back. Even even
- 26:46Speaker 1: during a passing if you know it's a passing down
- 26:48Speaker 1: and he's dropped, you still gotta watch him because if
- 26:51Speaker 1: it breaks down, he can go for seventeen or thirty
- 26:54Speaker 1: one or thirty number. Yes, sir, uh yeah, But I
- 26:57Speaker 1: am still surprised because that. I feel like the Chiefs
- 26:59Speaker 1: are when they're on, they're unstoppable offensively, and they don't
- 27:04Speaker 1: have wide receiver wise like the guy I mean, Kelsey's
- 27:09Speaker 1: the Kelsey's the man. But right from like from the outside,
- 27:12Speaker 1: they don't have that one. And it's crazy to watch
- 27:14Speaker 1: about scaling, you know, to watch Hartman, to watch all
- 27:18Speaker 1: these guys. Yeah, there will be brief glimpses of holy crap,
- 27:23Speaker 1: but then they disappear for three quarters. And Kelsey that
- 27:28Speaker 1: four touchdowns? Good god, I have I haven't been fantasy
- 27:31Speaker 1: I thought we talked about on the show. I was
- 27:32Speaker 1: just like, I was begging him stop. I'm embarrassing the plane.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I was like, you guys, gotta stop, you guys gotta stop.
- 27:39Speaker 1: As they did white Flag. Kelsey, I'm you're you're my guy,
- 27:42Speaker 1: but you know, no Moss, no Moss. But yeah, I'm
- 27:45Speaker 1: surprised just because they're so good. You would think it
- 27:47Speaker 1: would be four. You get him three three plus one
- 27:53Speaker 1: because it's in Buffalo. No, it can't. They can't sit.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'm really surprised. And us three I checked a couple
- 28:01Speaker 1: of days ago. Was three not just one? One and
- 28:02Speaker 1: a half? Is three? Yeah? Yeah, that's that's that's whatever.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I can't say. He's going on in the game is
- 28:08Speaker 1: gonna be awesome. That's it. They're going in the game,
- 28:10Speaker 1: alright that it hit it up? Hey, what's up to
- 28:21Speaker 1: kick off? Kevin? Here? And if you're like me, there's
- 28:23Speaker 1: a foreign language that you regret not learning in school.
- 28:26Speaker 1: But guess what, it's never too late to start learning
- 28:29Speaker 1: with Babel. Babel is a language learning app that has
- 28:32Speaker 1: sold more than ten million subscriptions, and thanks to Babel's
- 28:35Speaker 1: addictively fun and easy, bite sized language lessons, you can
- 28:39Speaker 1: finally cross learning that new language off the list. For me,
- 28:43Speaker 1: I've been learning Spanish lately because I didn't take it
- 28:46Speaker 1: in high school and I regret it. But now with Babel,
- 28:48Speaker 1: on the way to work, I can do it. On
- 28:50Speaker 1: the way home, I can do it. If I'm sitting
- 28:52Speaker 1: in traffic, I can do it. These bite sized lessons
- 28:55Speaker 1: are the way to go, and with Babbel, you only
- 28:57Speaker 1: need ten minutes to complete a lesson, so you can
- 28:59Speaker 1: start having real life conversations in a new language and
- 29:02Speaker 1: as little as three weeks. Other language apps use AI
- 29:05Speaker 1: for their lesson plans, but Babel they use lessons that
- 29:09Speaker 1: were created by over one hundred and fifty language experts
- 29:12Speaker 1: and voice by real native speakers, not computers. Right now,
- 29:16Speaker 1: when you purchased a three month Babbel subscription, you'll get
- 29:19Speaker 1: an additional three months for free. That's six months just
- 29:23Speaker 1: for the price of three. Just go to Babbel dot
- 29:25Speaker 1: com and use promo code Bobby Sports all one word.
- 29:29Speaker 1: That's b A B B E L dot com promo
- 29:32Speaker 1: code Bobby Sports. Okay, you want the update for the Cowboys. Yes,
- 29:37Speaker 1: so if you're on this show for the first time ever,
- 29:40Speaker 1: I just emailed the Dallas Cowboys website. That was it.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I emailed the first person I email, I gotta bounce
- 29:46Speaker 1: back because this person doesn't work there anymore. Like that's
- 29:48Speaker 1: how non connected we are, and we were. And also
- 29:51Speaker 1: if you go what you talk to famous people all
- 29:53Speaker 1: the time on your radio show and not sports people.
- 29:54Speaker 1: They don't even know who I am, like no clue,
- 29:57Speaker 1: And so I gotta bounce back. Gade Charles is work
- 30:00Speaker 1: here anymore. You can contact his predecessor. So I did,
- 30:05Speaker 1: hey and don't want to do any interviews. Okay, cool,
- 30:08Speaker 1: Well here's if you ever want to. Here's what's up.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Here's who I am, what I do for a living.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Oh okay, well, well we're interested. We didn't know that.
- 30:15Speaker 1: It looks like it's a serious thing, because it is.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'm not trying to got you them, I really was.
- 30:20Speaker 1: This wasn't about that at all. It isn't about that.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I think could just be awesome, and so they're like,
- 30:24Speaker 1: we'll talk to Mr Jones And it got delayed for
- 30:26Speaker 1: a while because I don't know how often they talked
- 30:28Speaker 1: to Mr Jones, and so finally it was like, hey,
- 30:31Speaker 1: he's interested. How would this be recorded? And then they
- 30:36Speaker 1: hit me back again. They're like, hey, what if we
- 30:37Speaker 1: didn't record it? What if you came to Dallas for
- 30:40Speaker 1: a home game? Well what sucked was that I looked
- 30:44Speaker 1: at the schedule and I literally only had one date,
- 30:47Speaker 1: and we went through it on the morning show. Everybody,
- 30:52Speaker 1: do you only have one day? I have a contractual commitments.
- 30:55Speaker 1: The other times it's hard for me to just I mean,
- 30:58Speaker 1: I can't I have a show in Vegas one night,
- 31:00Speaker 1: have a show here. I thought it was like hair appointment.
- 31:03Speaker 1: It's stuff where I get sued if it doesn't work out.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And so I only sent one day back to them,
- 31:09Speaker 1: which I thought might be an issue because I'm like, hey,
- 31:11Speaker 1: I appreciate this very generous offer. Here's the one instance
- 31:14Speaker 1: I can do. It. Not a cool thing to say back,
- 31:17Speaker 1: and I understand that too. I was like, if you
- 31:18Speaker 1: guys can't do I get it. Um. So last night,
- 31:23Speaker 1: like eleven thirty or so open my email. We were
- 31:28Speaker 1: working like dog was injured the whole thing. They had
- 31:31Speaker 1: sent it way earlier in the day, but it had
- 31:33Speaker 1: been like five days so from Tad Carper, who is
- 31:38Speaker 1: the senior vice president Communications, and I had said, Hey,
- 31:42Speaker 1: can I go December eleven? That's the that's the one
- 31:44Speaker 1: day to have. And I think I might have said too,
- 31:47Speaker 1: we can do it next year if it doesn't work.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Just trying not to be so it's my way of
- 31:50Speaker 1: the highway. And so Ted Carper wrote me last night, Bobby,
- 31:57Speaker 1: let's go ahead and schedule December eleven for this. Yeah. Yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 1: And I told him, I said, Hey, here's who's coming.
- 32:07Speaker 1: It's me, my executive producer, and uh in audio guy, Mike,
- 32:13Speaker 1: a video guy, and my wife. And I sent pictures
- 32:17Speaker 1: of all of you guys in your Instagram page, just
- 32:19Speaker 1: like a fact check, you in background check, you whatever
- 32:21Speaker 1: the kind of checks they do, std check. I don't know, Okay,
- 32:24Speaker 1: we're good. So he knows what the plan was for me.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I wanted to be very upfront that I wasn't showing
- 32:29Speaker 1: up with twelve, but I have a small crew that
- 32:31Speaker 1: have to bring with me, mostly because Cowboy fans I
- 32:34Speaker 1: mean I could probably walk up to my phone and recorded,
- 32:35Speaker 1: if I'm being honest, right, it's not possible, right, You're right,
- 32:38Speaker 1: I really couldn't because were gonna do a video, we
- 32:39Speaker 1: want to do it right and be able to put
- 32:40Speaker 1: in all these channels. So Bob squad schedule to number
- 32:43Speaker 1: eleventh for this. What I well, then he has they
- 32:47Speaker 1: have an asked. But no, no, they have an asked,
- 32:51Speaker 1: which makes it a little harder. Here, would it be
- 32:53Speaker 1: possible for you to all arrive Saturday night so we
- 32:57Speaker 1: can get started early Sunday morning, including writing to the
- 33:00Speaker 1: game with Jerry in his helicopter. Oh my goodness, are
- 33:03Speaker 1: you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Are you making
- 33:09Speaker 1: any of this up? Oh my gosh, it's crazy. All
- 33:14Speaker 1: all right, keep reading, I'm gonna start over uninterrupted. Sorry, sorry, Boby.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Let's go ahead schedule in December eleven for this would
- 33:20Speaker 1: be possible for you all to arrive on Saturday night
- 33:22Speaker 1: so we can get started early Sunday morning, including writing
- 33:25Speaker 1: to the game with Jerry and his helicopter and taping
- 33:27Speaker 1: at the stadium pregame, then enjoy the game from his
- 33:29Speaker 1: sweet Holy honestly, dude, it's crazy. Edie might cry. It's crazy,
- 33:35Speaker 1: he's gonna cry. I was about the curse really bad.
- 33:39Speaker 1: That's this is nuts. I agree. I just did an
- 33:41Speaker 1: email of the team. That's insane. What else, Well, there's
- 33:46Speaker 1: nothing else as their drinks, drinks including I'm sure yeah,
- 33:49Speaker 1: there will be in the site. We're gonna be hanging.
- 33:51Speaker 1: We're gonna be on TV when they show Jerry and Stephen,
- 33:54Speaker 1: it's gonna be us right next to one. I'll be
- 33:56Speaker 1: cleaning his glasses. Well that's not Stephen this time. What's
- 34:04Speaker 1: great too, because after I read it the first time,
- 34:06Speaker 1: I was like, that's really generous of them to offer,
- 34:08Speaker 1: and that's super cool, And I thought, does everybody get
- 34:12Speaker 1: drying the helicopter? That's literally what I thought, Like, how
- 34:14Speaker 1: big the Helicopoh yeah, it's big. I saw it on
- 34:15Speaker 1: Hard Knocks. It's big. Oh yeah, Well he lands on
- 34:19Speaker 1: a star, yeah, not the middle star, not the fifty
- 34:22Speaker 1: yard line, but like its own star. Whatever can ask
- 34:24Speaker 1: for that. Here's what I read though, that that's gave
- 34:29Speaker 1: me some clarity about the situation. Again, he says, let's
- 34:33Speaker 1: go ahead and s get. I felt like when I
- 34:34Speaker 1: was dating and I'd be reading girls oh, what did
- 34:36Speaker 1: you mean? I would like reading into texts and he says,
- 34:39Speaker 1: would it be possible for you all to arrive Saturday
- 34:42Speaker 1: nights so we can get started early Sunday morning. This
- 34:44Speaker 1: is crazy. I feel like that's all oh that he said,
- 34:48Speaker 1: all like all like not just arriving, but all in
- 34:52Speaker 1: the helicopter. And I replied back, I said, hey, that
- 34:56Speaker 1: sounds awesome, I said, in a warm helicopter. I would
- 34:58Speaker 1: be gret because picture me in the last one. It's
- 34:59Speaker 1: me hanging off there. Girls. I was like, great, I said,
- 35:05Speaker 1: I will reach out the week before and we'll make
- 35:10Speaker 1: sure we're all on the same page. And thank you
- 35:12Speaker 1: very much. Man, Let's go to the two Cowboys fans
- 35:15Speaker 1: who right now this is still happening. Mike, d what
- 35:19Speaker 1: do you think? I would say? This is a dream
- 35:21Speaker 1: come true? But is this something I could never possibly
- 35:23Speaker 1: have dreamed of being a Cowboys fan since I was
- 35:25Speaker 1: a kid. I couldn't even afford to go to a game,
- 35:27Speaker 1: but to go to a game like this, this is insane, Eddie.
- 35:32Speaker 1: This is That's a great way to put it, Mike.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I would never expect anything like this, dude. I mean,
- 35:37Speaker 1: I'm thinking, what do I wear what am I gonna wear?
- 35:41Speaker 1: Like I would normally wear a jersey. I can't wear
- 35:43Speaker 1: a jersey not I mean, hey, Jerry's not wearing a jersey. Jerry,
- 35:48Speaker 1: but you you don't think Jerry loved passionate people about
- 35:51Speaker 1: what Jerry? But this is tricky though, because we're there
- 35:54Speaker 1: to work. Do I show up in my Cowboys? I think,
- 35:57Speaker 1: whatever you love because you loved cowboys? Oh my gosh,
- 36:01Speaker 1: this is amazing. Dude. I don't think he thinks you're
- 36:03Speaker 1: coming in as some outside crew I brought in for
- 36:05Speaker 1: the special occasion. I did say they're massive cowboys fans.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Have I ever told you I love you? You know?
- 36:11Speaker 1: I don't, probably, but I don't know. I really love you.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Usually we're naked. So let's we have this great expectation
- 36:24Speaker 1: it's gonna be fun. My natural reaction is I don't
- 36:27Speaker 1: want to get too excited because it may not happen, right,
- 36:29Speaker 1: because just in general life, I'm past that. If it
- 36:32Speaker 1: doesn't happen, I'm heartbroken, like it's it. Well, don't put
- 36:36Speaker 1: that pressure on me, because I'm just saying the way
- 36:38Speaker 1: you do it is different the way I do it.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I'm already I pictured myself in the helicopter already, I
- 36:43Speaker 1: picture myself getting COVID the day before, yeah or yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 1: I mean no, yeah, it's everything that can't go wrong.
- 36:51Speaker 1: This is my natural. So we are as of now
- 36:55Speaker 1: going on that day and they have invited us to
- 36:58Speaker 1: go with Jerry Jones and the helicopter and go recorded
- 37:00Speaker 1: before the game, watch the game in the suite. That's insane.
- 37:06Speaker 1: That's so cool. But thanks for being excited for them.
- 37:10Speaker 1: So I'm excited for you guys too. It's cool for
- 37:12Speaker 1: me because I'd like to do the interview. Yeah, that
- 37:15Speaker 1: to me, I like to sit and talk with him.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I've met him a couple of times. But to actually,
- 37:19Speaker 1: when you when you meet somebody with the purpose of
- 37:20Speaker 1: interviewing them, you get to go to a lot of
- 37:22Speaker 1: places you don't get to go on a normal social
- 37:23Speaker 1: set anymore, but when you talk to them. And I
- 37:25Speaker 1: got a lot of questions about not even so much
- 37:28Speaker 1: about the Cowboys this year, but just general where he
- 37:32Speaker 1: comes from, why he thinks this way, why he strategically
- 37:37Speaker 1: takes certain risks, Like I'm just I'm a fan. It's amazing.
- 37:43Speaker 1: So what am I going to talk to him about
- 37:45Speaker 1: in the helicopter. I don't you know. I don't know
- 37:47Speaker 1: that the headset will go from your I don't get them.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know anything. I didn't ask that.
- 37:57Speaker 1: All right, let's do a quick update, real quick on
- 37:58Speaker 1: the coaches you guys have booked. I was like that schedule,
- 38:01Speaker 1: I don't see anybody here. Okay, um oh, I saw Kevin,
- 38:05Speaker 1: so last week we left it. I didn't get another
- 38:07Speaker 1: one drawn. That's true, but we also had the ability
- 38:09Speaker 1: to book any coach. Okay, so we're gonna go to
- 38:12Speaker 1: a love we can draw here in a second. But
- 38:13Speaker 1: I want to give a little update on something for
- 38:15Speaker 1: me too, Okay, Eddie, update on who you have or
- 38:18Speaker 1: who don't have, or what you did or you found out.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Who I have. I have Brian Harrison, Auburn head coach,
- 38:23Speaker 1: and I've got a contact, got a contact. I reached out.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I did my little template email, send it out. I
- 38:28Speaker 1: have not heard anything yet. I've only I only sent
- 38:30Speaker 1: it out yesterday though. So this big game coming up
- 38:33Speaker 1: this weekend, I'm sure maybe on Monday I'll hear something back.
- 38:35Speaker 1: You're sure on Monday, I would think i'd hear something
- 38:38Speaker 1: back because my email similar to years. We're just like
- 38:40Speaker 1: you may know me from Bobby Bones Show, Syndicated Raging Idiots,
- 38:45Speaker 1: and then I put the pictures of our albums on
- 38:47Speaker 1: there Children's Records, Comedy Records on number one. I'm not
- 38:53Speaker 1: gonna tell you how to do your pitch. That's an
- 38:54Speaker 1: interesting approach. You don't think that's gonna work? You know?
- 38:58Speaker 1: I like it. I mean, that's that's how you got Jerry.
- 39:01Speaker 1: That's how I'm going to get this guy. Yeah, maybe
- 39:03Speaker 1: it's because our seasons A joke right now? Is that?
- 39:05Speaker 1: Is that? No? I don't think I've seen him do
- 39:07Speaker 1: a couple of interviews seven, yeah, said Brandon Marcella, who
- 39:11Speaker 1: came on our show. That's perfect then, So I don't
- 39:13Speaker 1: know that that would be the approach. What I what
- 39:15Speaker 1: I would? Can't do that. I can't tell you, right,
- 39:18Speaker 1: can't he can give advice? No, boy, can't. I can't.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Never mind? All right, I can't wait you here on Monday. Alright, Mike,
- 39:24Speaker 1: I still have my initial coach, Coach Wilcox from cal
- 39:27Speaker 1: They're coming off a loss, coming off of a bye week,
- 39:29Speaker 1: so I'm waiting untill they win and hit them back
- 39:31Speaker 1: and follow that up. I like that strategy, Kevin. So,
- 39:34Speaker 1: we didn't read aw it last week. But I reached
- 39:36Speaker 1: out to Boise States, Alexavilla because I have a couple
- 39:40Speaker 1: of players that I used to coach in high school. There.
- 39:42Speaker 1: I have three players that are there right now. What
- 39:43Speaker 1: what the what do you what? You're burying the headline school?
- 39:48Speaker 1: So I coach high school football in California before I
- 39:50Speaker 1: moved out here. Let's come back to that in a minute,
- 39:51Speaker 1: but go ahead with your coach story. Okay. So I
- 39:53Speaker 1: reached out to their communications. You guys, send him an
- 39:55Speaker 1: email same thing I've been, you know, Bobby and blah
- 39:57Speaker 1: blah blah. And then um that was on Monday, I believe,
- 40:00Speaker 1: and I haven't heard anything back. But I also did
- 40:03Speaker 1: reach out to one of the players and told him, hey,
- 40:06Speaker 1: this is your communications guy. Talked to him, see if
- 40:08Speaker 1: you can get something, and even he said, it's it's
- 40:11Speaker 1: kind of impossible to get the coach during the season
- 40:14Speaker 1: kind of kind of but there's a chance. So I'm
- 40:17Speaker 1: waiting to hear back there's there's a chance. Hold on, hope, boys.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Wilson Phillips said it best hold on for one more day.
- 40:26Speaker 1: They're gonna say goodbyee. Yeah, Adam, I'm working an end around.
- 40:32Speaker 1: So they gave me the They gave me the same
- 40:33Speaker 1: thing where they say they say we can't do it
- 40:36Speaker 1: during the season. Who I gotta remember the guy's name
- 40:40Speaker 1: send an email. But I have a friend your coach, Josh. Yeah, yeah,
- 40:45Speaker 1: well we'll see you know Tennessee gets that big win.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I want to talk to anybody, so um, so I'm
- 40:53Speaker 1: kind of working end around the communications guy who has
- 40:56Speaker 1: a friend in the In the affort, it's always about
- 40:58Speaker 1: getting to the guy who knows the guy way more
- 41:00Speaker 1: than getting to the guy, because you'll never get to
- 41:02Speaker 1: the guy. Like there are people that want to get
- 41:03Speaker 1: up to me all the time. And I'm not the guy, guy,
- 41:05Speaker 1: guy guy, but I'm a guy and and but that's
- 41:09Speaker 1: not the key. The key is to get Mike d
- 41:10Speaker 1: to trust you and to think it's good. Then he'll
- 41:12Speaker 1: be like, hey, have you heard this? So you don't
- 41:15Speaker 1: think Adams should talk about the songs he's written? He could.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I don't think that lends a lot of credence to
- 41:19Speaker 1: why he wants them. But what are their fans of,
- 41:21Speaker 1: like DANAE Day, Well, if he if he wanted to
- 41:24Speaker 1: come on and trick and be like, Hey, we're gonna
- 41:25Speaker 1: talk about you favorite music of all time? Would you
- 41:26Speaker 1: like to come doing me? And then we get them
- 41:28Speaker 1: on and we asked the wise rounding the fourth three
- 41:30Speaker 1: this week instead of I think that's been up with
- 41:32Speaker 1: the ropa dope. That's good. Hold on, hold on tight, guys,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you never know. I did send vall football message on Instagram.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I don't know why. They popped up in mind when
- 41:42Speaker 1: you hit the hourglass, it's something from Tennessee football. I
- 41:45Speaker 1: think because I live in Tennessee, they think I'm a
- 41:47Speaker 1: false fan because I'll look at lot of college football stuff.
- 41:49Speaker 1: So I just hit a message on there. I said, yo,
- 41:52Speaker 1: I sent a random message to the random football account
- 41:54Speaker 1: right here, I said, yo, Bobby Billons here would whomembers
- 41:58Speaker 1: running this account of coach Hi hit me up? Here's
- 42:00Speaker 1: my email with things. Dude, that's a baller. Have you
- 42:03Speaker 1: got a response? No? Then, so do you win your
- 42:07Speaker 1: your own five if you get coach happen. Mostly it
- 42:10Speaker 1: was just to see if somebody would yeah, no, no, nothing.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Who knows who's an intern student or maybe they're working
- 42:17Speaker 1: on it, or maybe they don't check all the d
- 42:19Speaker 1: m s either, don't I see maybe five percent of mine? Yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 1: I must get most right now, just checking in. That's
- 42:26Speaker 1: all talking to the world. I like that random DM though. Yeah,
- 42:31Speaker 1: that's what I get. The email of the gull Boys. Hey,
- 42:33Speaker 1: can I see the hat Kevin and I'll draw who
- 42:35Speaker 1: needs a new coach? Oka? Or we can sit on
- 42:39Speaker 1: the boys. That guy doesn't matter to me. Well, you
- 42:41Speaker 1: get the boys that guy for free. But give me
- 42:42Speaker 1: another one. Yeah, because the boys, you got somebody you're
- 42:45Speaker 1: tracking down, and you can get a free point one
- 42:47Speaker 1: free point to get you out of the negatives. If
- 42:49Speaker 1: you can get any college coach that is not they
- 42:52Speaker 1: have to be fbsfc s. Yeah, it could be Temple,
- 42:55Speaker 1: got you not incurrent word? Yeah, Okay, here you go
- 43:03Speaker 1: another one. Really, you have a shot, though, because this
- 43:06Speaker 1: guy does a decent amount of press and he's trying
- 43:07Speaker 1: to get his name out of the program and they're
- 43:09Speaker 1: on a good little, good little uptick who's a man
- 43:13Speaker 1: by the name of Shane Beemer from South Carolina. Okay,
- 43:16Speaker 1: I think you have an okay shot. It's definitely my
- 43:20Speaker 1: best shot so far. Okay, So that's all there, Cowboys,
- 43:23Speaker 1: good coaches, good Okay, yeah. Yeah. So I'm asleep the
- 43:28Speaker 1: other night and I sleep listening to podcast. I used
- 43:32Speaker 1: to watch TV. It was difficult for our marriage because
- 43:34Speaker 1: my wife never watched TV when you fell asleep, and
- 43:36Speaker 1: I would sleep with the TV on most as rooted
- 43:37Speaker 1: when I was a kid. I never had a bedroom.
- 43:39Speaker 1: The TV in living room just standing on all the time.
- 43:41Speaker 1: So I only feel comfortable going to sleep with the
- 43:43Speaker 1: TV on. So, Kevin, you'll learn about this later. You
- 43:47Speaker 1: have to compromise in the marriage. I've only just learned it.
- 43:50Speaker 1: And so I said, Okay, I won't sleep with the
- 43:51Speaker 1: TV on. I'll sleep with the podcast on. And I
- 43:53Speaker 1: listened to Bill Simmons, I listen to Ryan Rcilo. That's
- 43:57Speaker 1: about it, because that you usually cover the five Simmons
- 44:01Speaker 1: does three, Rosilla Doust three. I never get all the
- 44:04Speaker 1: way through the because I fall asleep at some point
- 44:06Speaker 1: the end and really enjoy both of them. So I
- 44:09Speaker 1: have on the Bill Simmons podcast and it's like one
- 44:12Speaker 1: of the morning wife goes, they're yelling at you on
- 44:13Speaker 1: the podcast, and I'm like, whoa are you? Okay, what's
- 44:16Speaker 1: going on here? She goes, they're yelling at you on
- 44:18Speaker 1: the podcast I'm like, no, Bill said, I've thought maybe
- 44:23Speaker 1: it had started the show podcast, or maybe she was
- 44:26Speaker 1: thinking she was listening to the show in her dreams.
- 44:29Speaker 1: So I'm like, no, no, you're you're that's not I'm
- 44:31Speaker 1: listening to Bill Simmons. And she goes rewind the podcast
- 44:35Speaker 1: and I'm like, fine, rewound it. Hit it. The basic
- 44:40Speaker 1: proposition is that every team in the league, you can
- 44:44Speaker 1: select their total wins or total losses. Every time a
- 44:48Speaker 1: team wins, that's a skin. If you've selected that team's wins.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Every time a team loses, if you've chosen losses, that's
- 44:56Speaker 1: a skin, and at the end of the year, you
- 44:57Speaker 1: had them all up. Now. We stole this from um
- 45:00Speaker 1: country music superstar Matt Stell, who invited a friend of
- 45:05Speaker 1: Chris Matt friend of my Mat still and not what
- 45:08Speaker 1: I said. Yeah, that's great friend of Chris Vernon and me.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I hosted him to play golf. Lovely fellow single top
- 45:17Speaker 1: of the world, that's still living the best life, that
- 45:19Speaker 1: he's friends with a lot of heavy hitters. To Bobby Bones,
- 45:23Speaker 1: who's a radio guy. I didn't I didn't know him,
- 45:25Speaker 1: but he's in this league. Do you know Bobby Bones?
- 45:27Speaker 1: You know what he ou don't know where hit me
- 45:29Speaker 1: up and said, I do a good job. Loves nothing
- 45:33Speaker 1: more than unsolicited praise. Is the way that was hurt, right,
- 45:35Speaker 1: because Boston guys don't like other people getting praise. They're
- 45:39Speaker 1: freaking talking about me on this podcast that your wife
- 45:41Speaker 1: was right, so cool. I was like, I thought she
- 45:44Speaker 1: was going bananas and so yeah, but that's the league.
- 45:48Speaker 1: I talked about what we buy teams and that's what
- 45:50Speaker 1: that Cowboys were. Yeah, and I didn't know the House
- 45:52Speaker 1: who I listened to Joe House on with Bill Simmons
- 45:54Speaker 1: comes on once a week, was part of our league.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Had no idea he's in it. Yeah, that's so because
- 46:02Speaker 1: I don't. I think Scott Chandler, who's played for the Bills,
- 46:05Speaker 1: is in our league. There's a former prep. I don't.
- 46:07Speaker 1: There's like six of us, but some of the guys
- 46:09Speaker 1: have gotten with somebody else and they because it gets
- 46:11Speaker 1: to be a bit expensive sometimes if you're losing. And
- 46:14Speaker 1: so I don't really know. Because Matt still and are
- 46:16Speaker 1: good friends, the singer and he's going to get in
- 46:18Speaker 1: this league, I'm like, of course, and he's like, yeah,
- 46:22Speaker 1: I said, I did. I need reasons to get involved
- 46:24Speaker 1: so I can watch all the games. Honestly, it's not
- 46:26Speaker 1: so much about the money part, but if I'm playing Fantasy,
- 46:28Speaker 1: I'm watching stupid games I've never watched, and it helps
- 46:30Speaker 1: with the show, helps in general. And I said, yeah,
- 46:31Speaker 1: I'll do it. I'll get in so and I was like,
- 46:33Speaker 1: I also want to buy the Cowboys so I could
- 46:35Speaker 1: be better friends with Mike and Edgians do that. That
- 46:37Speaker 1: brought us real close. Yeah, you have a boys. So
- 46:41Speaker 1: on that podcast they're yelling that crap out and so
- 46:43Speaker 1: I didn't know Joe who I listened to, so I
- 46:46Speaker 1: get on. The text started way all having the scans.
- 46:48Speaker 1: I don't know any of the numbers except Matt still
- 46:49Speaker 1: all of them are numbers. And I get on there,
- 46:51Speaker 1: I go his house in this group and he goes
- 46:54Speaker 1: who wants to know? Just being funny because we don't
- 46:57Speaker 1: know who each other is. Some of us don't. And
- 46:58Speaker 1: so I messaged him. I was like, hey, dude, about you.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I'm a big fan, and he was like, holy crap,
- 47:04Speaker 1: the end funny huh. But I thought she was crazy.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I was like, maybe you're out of your mind. You
- 47:10Speaker 1: know what I heard in that clip Pearl Jam and
- 47:12Speaker 1: I'm like, thinking, why the opening song every Bill Bill Simmons,
- 47:15Speaker 1: Why do we have to have the generic version of
- 47:17Speaker 1: simple dude. I don't know if he pays for that,
- 47:19Speaker 1: but it's a whole thing. He goes, all right, let's
- 47:20Speaker 1: go to start the show, and it plays down down legit,
- 47:24Speaker 1: that's the Bill Simmons podcast. I'm a huge fan. I
- 47:26Speaker 1: don't know how you have to credit them, but I listen. Yeah,
- 47:29Speaker 1: big fan. And so then he hits me and he
- 47:32Speaker 1: goes Joe talking and it went a little fan boy.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I just really like what he does. And we talked
- 47:38Speaker 1: a little bit and he remembered us when we were
- 47:42Speaker 1: drafting because I was hitting on my golf simulator. Why
- 47:44Speaker 1: he was we're all drafting on the computer because I
- 47:47Speaker 1: had the screen up on the sim the front of
- 47:48Speaker 1: the stem. And he was like, because he does a
- 47:51Speaker 1: golf podcast. He's a big golf guy. And he goes, bro,
- 47:53Speaker 1: if I remember in Nashville, want to come your simulator?
- 47:55Speaker 1: I was like, come by whatever, And then he hits
- 47:56Speaker 1: me this morning, he goes, how do we go through
- 47:58Speaker 1: this whole wonderful intro connection? And you leave out that
- 48:03Speaker 1: Tyler Parker is your brother? In law, Tyler Parker, writes
- 48:06Speaker 1: for The Ringer Tyler Parkers Not Built in his podcast
- 48:08Speaker 1: a lot. He's written a bunch of books. So I
- 48:12Speaker 1: was he was like, he's seriously one of the very,
- 48:13Speaker 1: very best. And I was like, yeah, Tyler my brother. Also,
- 48:16Speaker 1: how about this other guy, Jason Gallagher. I know that,
- 48:18Speaker 1: And so we have all these mutual friends that work
- 48:21Speaker 1: in sports. It's crazy. And Jason is one of the
- 48:23Speaker 1: big producers and partners in The Old Man in the
- 48:26Speaker 1: Tree Reddick's podcast. He travels with him. That's like this
- 48:30Speaker 1: guy they developed that thing together. So these are all
- 48:31Speaker 1: my friends who do these shows and brother in law,
- 48:34Speaker 1: so apparently we're all cousins. You guys are intertwined the end.
- 48:40Speaker 1: That's cool. I just picture I picture young you, like
- 48:43Speaker 1: just young you in Mountain Pine, Arkansas, love and sports
- 48:47Speaker 1: whatever and like not. I mean, look what, it's crazy
- 48:50Speaker 1: your life. How you know all these people in weird
- 48:52Speaker 1: ways and they're just like, dude, you know this person. Yeah,
- 48:54Speaker 1: but I'm related to one of them, like its level
- 48:58Speaker 1: and that's his best rand is Jason, who I married
- 49:03Speaker 1: into the family. Doesn't matter however you got connected. It's
- 49:06Speaker 1: just crazy that everyone's not connected by anything I've done,
- 49:09Speaker 1: except well, I guess Sea get a hot cool wife.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I mean I guess maybe that's yes. And then they
- 49:12Speaker 1: know your Bobby bones too. Who Well you listen to
- 49:14Speaker 1: that podcast. They're like, oh, you know body. Wilson was like,
- 49:16Speaker 1: I don't know that is, but most people don't know
- 49:18Speaker 1: it is, but now he does. But yeah, and I
- 49:20Speaker 1: actually I listened to a solo and Jason and Ryan
- 49:23Speaker 1: are friends, and I had Jason. I was like, hey's
- 49:25Speaker 1: Ryan a good dude because I listened to him a lot.
- 49:26Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, it's a great guy. I was like, okay, cool,
- 49:28Speaker 1: i'mna sending a message because I think how he's transitioned
- 49:30Speaker 1: and pivot of it's awesome. So I just sent him
- 49:32Speaker 1: a d M. Random. I was like, hey, dude, I
- 49:34Speaker 1: listen to you all the time, like, great job, I
- 49:35Speaker 1: love the brand now. And we talked a little bit
- 49:38Speaker 1: and that was it. Never thinking it would come up
- 49:40Speaker 1: three months later in a podcast, but I just randomly.
- 49:43Speaker 1: I like to tell people when they're in a good job, Hey,
- 49:44Speaker 1: you're doing a really good job. And it could have
- 49:46Speaker 1: come off as creepy because that's straight d M him. Yeah,
- 49:49Speaker 1: and I was just like yeah. I was like, man,
- 49:50Speaker 1: you do a great job. I just want to say,
- 49:52Speaker 1: you know, I would I would eat your body here
- 49:53Speaker 1: I said, you did. I want to go over to
- 49:58Speaker 1: the Colin cow Hard interview. Come back with some more
- 50:00Speaker 1: stuff in a second, but let me present to you
- 50:02Speaker 1: speaking of awesome people who it's crazy that I get
- 50:04Speaker 1: to talk to. And it said, yes, I love Calling Coward.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I will say it. I love him. Here's awesome to
- 50:12Speaker 1: talk to you. He was very generous. You'll hear this here.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Just it was a really cool moment for me to
- 50:17Speaker 1: talk with him. And this is our half hour or
- 50:19Speaker 1: so of myself with Calling Coward. Hey, Colin, first off,
- 50:24Speaker 1: just been a massive fan for I'm just gonna start
- 50:26Speaker 1: with this and we'll move to the real stuff. But
- 50:28Speaker 1: for like fifteen years, like die hard massive fans. So
- 50:31Speaker 1: to be able to sit and talk with you for
- 50:33Speaker 1: just a few minutes, like, it's a real thrill for me.
- 50:35Speaker 1: So thank you. Oh of course, yeah, your careers exploded.
- 50:38Speaker 1: It's just amazing. They're really behind you at the company.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I think it's great. So what I'm curious at how
- 50:43Speaker 1: other people do their creative endeavors and before because I
- 50:48Speaker 1: do want to go back to when you were a kid.
- 50:50Speaker 1: But I want to know what your day is like.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Meaning I watch a show and I dvr R, so
- 50:55Speaker 1: I do get to watch, or I'll hit the podcast
- 50:58Speaker 1: and so I see and I hear. But people don't
- 51:00Speaker 1: see the behind the scenes stuff. What how do you
- 51:01Speaker 1: get in in the daytime? And how many people do
- 51:03Speaker 1: you sit with before show and go over ideas or segments?
- 51:07Speaker 1: Get up at about five forty. Uh, leave my house
- 51:11Speaker 1: at about six there at six fifteen, put the contacts in,
- 51:14Speaker 1: walk upstairs, and it's about an hour and a half process.
- 51:19Speaker 1: UM used to be about two hours. But we've got
- 51:21Speaker 1: a really good crew. I would say there are nine
- 51:25Speaker 1: people in the room. Um, they've got about ten stories
- 51:28Speaker 1: laid out for me. I picked probably four, Um, and
- 51:32Speaker 1: then they just keep throwing ideas at me. I usually
- 51:35Speaker 1: come in with something to say on one or two.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I have kind of a worldview on how I view
- 51:40Speaker 1: each story. And then I just like them to pitch
- 51:43Speaker 1: ideas and funny lines and argue and anyway we can
- 51:48Speaker 1: sand paper it to get the most interesting take. Um.
- 51:52Speaker 1: You know, I tell young broadcasters all the time, don't
- 51:55Speaker 1: be consumed with being right. It'd be great to be right,
- 51:58Speaker 1: but be interesting. Find the most interesting angle on something.
- 52:01Speaker 1: And uh, that's what we're already strived for just and
- 52:04Speaker 1: I've done it long enough, Bobby where I can kind
- 52:06Speaker 1: of sense like, oh yeah, I haven't heard anybody say
- 52:09Speaker 1: that on that story. And I, by the way, I'm
- 52:11Speaker 1: always hoping to be right. But what I think is
- 52:15Speaker 1: you're probably curious. I think I'm curious. I'm looking for
- 52:18Speaker 1: angles on stuff, and I like the the why better
- 52:22Speaker 1: than the what, Like why is this happening? I can
- 52:25Speaker 1: see what is happening. I think sports talk show hosts
- 52:29Speaker 1: tell me what I see. I like to be the
- 52:32Speaker 1: one percent that says, this is why you're seeing it.
- 52:34Speaker 1: And you know, a lot of times I'm wrong, my
- 52:37Speaker 1: theory is wrong, but I think a lot of times, um,
- 52:40Speaker 1: that's what we're always seeking, kind of the why why
- 52:44Speaker 1: something is happening. You know, it sounds to me when
- 52:46Speaker 1: you describe what you do there's still a passion in
- 52:48Speaker 1: your voice about what you do and to be doing
- 52:50Speaker 1: it at such a high level for so long to
- 52:52Speaker 1: still have that passion, like what is it? What happened
- 52:55Speaker 1: in your childhood? With me, it was just growing up
- 52:57Speaker 1: a food stamp kid and a welfare kids. But what
- 52:59Speaker 1: is it for you? The key? See, you've just driven
- 53:01Speaker 1: towards this the success really that no one else has
- 53:04Speaker 1: had like you've had it. Well, you know, you know
- 53:08Speaker 1: I had all the things necessary, probably a childhood divorce,
- 53:12Speaker 1: high school acne, girls not dating me. Um, the divorce
- 53:19Speaker 1: left me very poor. Um. Always felt loved, but kind
- 53:23Speaker 1: of a reluctant. My mom was sort of British, UM,
- 53:28Speaker 1: doting son of protective UM. You know, dad was a
- 53:33Speaker 1: really decent guy. UM, small town doctor, but very career driven. Um.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Maybe I felt ignored and wanted people to pay attention
- 53:42Speaker 1: to me. I knew what I wanted to do at
- 53:43Speaker 1: a very early age, but I also felt um. And
- 53:47Speaker 1: it's not sad, but I felt I was kind of
- 53:50Speaker 1: on my own. Like it's not that my parents weren't
- 53:55Speaker 1: there for me. I mean, you know, I never felt
- 54:00Speaker 1: never verbal abuse, or I wasn't loved, none of that stuff,
- 54:05Speaker 1: but I always kind of felt, Um. My dad was
- 54:08Speaker 1: a workaholic, my mom was British, didn't really wasn't going
- 54:12Speaker 1: to help me a lot in my career, and so
- 54:14Speaker 1: I always felt sort of um and the word escapes me.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I would say, if I needed to be self reliant
- 54:26Speaker 1: and if and if I didn't succeed, then I wouldn't
- 54:29Speaker 1: succeed if I didn't make my own pass. Um. And
- 54:34Speaker 1: you know I tell my kids this all the time,
- 54:36Speaker 1: is that I don't I want to raise you, so
- 54:41Speaker 1: at twenty years old, you don't need me anymore. Like
- 54:44Speaker 1: that's kind of how I was raised. And I think
- 54:46Speaker 1: that kind of fight and that survival mechanism has been
- 54:49Speaker 1: really powerful for me. So, um, you know, I definitely
- 54:53Speaker 1: child of divorce, a sister that was five and a
- 54:56Speaker 1: half six years older, so by the time I was
- 54:59Speaker 1: in high school, she was out. Um, you know, we
- 55:02Speaker 1: weren't close. No, no eighteen year old girl wants to
- 55:05Speaker 1: hang around a twelve and a half year old boy, right,
- 55:07Speaker 1: And so I and I lived. It was rural, so
- 55:10Speaker 1: I didn't have this wide social net of friends. I
- 55:14Speaker 1: mean every house was, you know, always away, so you
- 55:18Speaker 1: kind of had to make up your own fund. And
- 55:20Speaker 1: I would make up batting lineups on a piece of
- 55:24Speaker 1: paper and do the play by play, and play whiffleball
- 55:26Speaker 1: by myself, and and and play basketball sometimes by myself,
- 55:30Speaker 1: and shoot baskets, and you know I was a laker.
- 55:33Speaker 1: It's jabbar over to this player, over to that player.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Eighteen foot are good? Talk to myself. Still do a
- 55:39Speaker 1: lot um, So that independence, self reliance still kind of
- 55:45Speaker 1: you know, it thrives in me today. You know, rural.
- 55:47Speaker 1: That's how I describe where I'm from. To IM from
- 55:49Speaker 1: a small town in Arkansas, like seven people, and there
- 55:51Speaker 1: was nobody to tell me that I couldn't do anything.
- 55:54Speaker 1: But nobody actually knew you could outside of where you lived.
- 55:57Speaker 1: There was a mill. It's a saw mill town, and
- 55:58Speaker 1: so they weren't saying you can't go and do a
- 56:00Speaker 1: TV show or a big radio show, but they definitely
- 56:03Speaker 1: weren't saying I could. And the same thing about you,
- 56:06Speaker 1: like who told who put it in you? Who instilled
- 56:09Speaker 1: in knew that there were these dreams that no one
- 56:12Speaker 1: around you had actually reached out in touch, but that
- 56:14Speaker 1: you could do it. Um, that's a good question. I
- 56:18Speaker 1: think that is a good question. Who instilled these dreams?
- 56:23Speaker 1: I think I always felt like an underdog, Like when
- 56:27Speaker 1: I went to college, Um, I always had that chip
- 56:32Speaker 1: on my shoulder. Nobody thought I could do it. Um,
- 56:36Speaker 1: you know, I didn't have a lot of money. I
- 56:38Speaker 1: had to work while I went to school, and I
- 56:41Speaker 1: think there's a survival thing. I think. I don't know
- 56:45Speaker 1: if anybody told me I could or couldn't do it.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I just remember my mom when I was about thirteen
- 56:51Speaker 1: years old, twelve or thirteen years old, telling me one
- 56:54Speaker 1: day I was reading the paper. She goes, you know,
- 56:56Speaker 1: you just can't read the sports section. That just can't
- 56:59Speaker 1: be it. And I said, yeah, it can't. I am
- 57:01Speaker 1: gonna work in sports. I am going to work in sports,
- 57:04Speaker 1: and I know it. And I just I just at
- 57:07Speaker 1: a very early age, you know, I quarterback my high
- 57:11Speaker 1: school team. I was a little taller than some guys,
- 57:13Speaker 1: a little more athletic. I always said, you know, I
- 57:15Speaker 1: dated like a cheerleader. I always had kind of even
- 57:17Speaker 1: though I was kind of goofy, I kind of had
- 57:19Speaker 1: this confidence about me. And and uh, you know, I
- 57:22Speaker 1: can remember when I was, you know, seventeen two seven,
- 57:26Speaker 1: you know, and I was in Vegas. I remember, you know,
- 57:29Speaker 1: I would date women, are go on dates and they'll
- 57:31Speaker 1: be like, man, you're you are driven, like you you
- 57:34Speaker 1: just you are. They're like, you know, you'd be impossible
- 57:37Speaker 1: to marry, like you're married to your career, and I
- 57:40Speaker 1: would be like, yeah, it's great, it's a great career.
- 57:42Speaker 1: It's a great life, you know, and then all of
- 57:44Speaker 1: a sudden you have kids, I get married. It's thirties.
- 57:47Speaker 1: But I think I think, um, Bobby, I just think
- 57:50Speaker 1: I was so driven and that comes from loneliness and uh,
- 57:56Speaker 1: you know, just sort of this small town under Dug
- 57:59Speaker 1: under Doug mentality. And I think it's just always been
- 58:03Speaker 1: in me. I don't know if it was engineered by anybody.
- 58:06Speaker 1: If it was, I don't remember it, um, but I
- 58:10Speaker 1: always knew. I can remember when I was young, just
- 58:14Speaker 1: thinking I had no doubt in my mind I was
- 58:16Speaker 1: going to be like a network sportscaster. It never And
- 58:19Speaker 1: when I went to college and people didn't care as
- 58:21Speaker 1: much as I did, I remember thinking, this is my competition.
- 58:25Speaker 1: And then I went to Vegas and got a job
- 58:26Speaker 1: and the people I worked with didn't care as much
- 58:28Speaker 1: as I did. So every step of the way, I
- 58:30Speaker 1: was like, man, I am really into this, and other
- 58:33Speaker 1: people think it's just the job. And so every market
- 58:36Speaker 1: I went to, it was like, man, they just don't
- 58:38Speaker 1: love it like I do. They don't think about it,
- 58:39Speaker 1: they don't dream about it. They don't plan for it,
- 58:41Speaker 1: they don't construct their day around it. So I just
- 58:44Speaker 1: I kept being reminded how much I loved it and
- 58:48Speaker 1: if I worked hard, how I could get there. And
- 58:50Speaker 1: it was just step after step after step after step,
- 58:53Speaker 1: and that passion, that confidence just grew as I'd be
- 58:58Speaker 1: I joined clubs or station, the radio stations or TV stations,
- 59:01Speaker 1: and I could just tell it was a job for
- 59:04Speaker 1: people and it was more of a mission for me.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I talked to my therapist a lot about balance, because I,
- 59:09Speaker 1: like you, have just been consumed with me having this
- 59:15Speaker 1: humongous chip, probably much bigger than I should have. But
- 59:18Speaker 1: in trying to prove people wrong, and I trying to
- 59:20Speaker 1: prove people right, Like I'm at the point of my
- 59:21Speaker 1: career where as I go, okay, I'm gonna prove these
- 59:24Speaker 1: folks right who have invested in me, and I've done
- 59:26Speaker 1: pretty good sin on the old therapist couch. But I'm
- 59:29Speaker 1: married now for the first time. I didn't get married
- 59:30Speaker 1: tops forty years old. And balance is a struggle because
- 59:34Speaker 1: I have been so consumed with what I do, which
- 59:38Speaker 1: was my job. How in the world do you reach
- 59:41Speaker 1: the level that you've reached and still achieve any sort
- 59:44Speaker 1: of balance. Well, I've I've had some balance, Bobby. What
- 59:50Speaker 1: I really try to do, and it's not always easy,
- 59:53Speaker 1: is live very much in the moment. Is that when
- 59:57Speaker 1: I'm around my wife or my kids, I really live
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: in the moment. I just this is gonna be what
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I do. I went to Rome with my wife, I
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: went to Italy for a week and just put the
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: phone down. Or I go to church and kikos take pictures,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: put the phone down. So try to live in the
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: moment when I have these opportunities. Um, but I think
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: it's a struggle. You know. I said this once to
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: a therapist. I think I wrote about this once in
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: my first book. I said, um, you know when they
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: there's a lot of things that make people happy. If
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: you googled what makes people happy, they would say, um, animals, um,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: giving um, good friends. You know what they never say balance?
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Peyton Manning wasn't balanced. I mean, was was Michael Jordan balanced?
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I think balance? I think it's a little overrated. You
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: know what. I'd rather be wildly passionate about my wife,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: about my job, about my the volume. U. Um, I
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: think I'm really passionate and as I've gotten older, I've
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: pruned my tree like that doesn't matter, that doesn't matter,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: that doesn't matter. But I don't think balance has ever
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: made me happy. I mean, do you tell me, are
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: you I'm happy today? Are you happy? Yeah? I'm happy
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: because I'm at the place now where like all that
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: I've been working for forever is finally coming to fruition, right,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Like I've really just in the TV world and the
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: radio world and the It's like I'm finally getting the
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: opportunity to pick what I want to do instead of
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I get to say no to things. Like how cool
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: is that? I know I've never got to say no
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: to things before, like real things, and I get to
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: say no And it's a weird thing too, But that
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: to me, I told my wife because she has a
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: great family, and to her family has always been a bit.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: But I didn't have a dad, didn't have mom, and
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: so I've just had my career and so now I'm
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: you know, you're trying to figure I'm trying to figure out,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: like how in the world do I bout And balance
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: doesn't meant but how in the world do I balance
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: this at all? And I look at someone like you
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: who's able to crush it professionally, and I hear you
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: talk about your wife and even your kids, and it's like, dang,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: how does he do that? So I guess, if anything,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I'll send you a bill for this therapy session. It's over.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: But but you know, you know who never seems happy
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: to me? Ski bum poet, web designer, part time artist,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: A million things. They're not a mile deep on any
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: of them. If you're if you're totally invested in your
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: wife and totally invested in your career, and then you
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: have a really great charity and then you have a
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: couple of kids, what a life or do you have
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: when you're into those I mean, balance is one of
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: those sort of like ethereal, sort of nebulous things. It's like,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: I live a balance life. No, I sleep for seven,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: I work for six, I nap and listen to music
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: for one. I work out for one, I eat for two.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: I'm into all of those things. When I'm doing them.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: I don't sit around worrying about balance. What I worry
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: about is enjoying the time I have in the moment
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: doing what I'm doing, and if it comes out as balance.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: But there are some days I don't do much work. Uh,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: you know, once the football season ends, I get three
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: day weekends. I don't even think about work. So and
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: then there are other times during the football season, I'm
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: you know, my Sundays are a work day. So I
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: think sometimes people it's like FOMO fear of missing out.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: There's this fear of lacking balance will create a new
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: f o LB fear of lacking balance. I don't think
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: that many people have balance, and I don't think perfect
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: balance makes anybody happy. Let's go back to a job
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: that you had early on that at the time seemed tough,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: but you look back and you're like, Dany, I actually
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: learned a lot there. You know. I did play by
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: play the home games that I played, they play for
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: for division to Henderson State University, and then on the
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: road had to do play by playing color because we
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: couldn't afford to send two people out in the crew,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: and that was it was really hard. But I look
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: back and I'm like, man, I really learned a whole
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: lot there in Hot Springs, Arkansas doing radio show. I
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: learned a whole lot because I had to do everything.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: When you look back at your career, what was that
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: job or A couple of jobs for you where really difficult,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: but you're so thankful you had on because of everything
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: that you you developed. Well, my first job out of
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: college was really doing an inning of play by play
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: for Las Vegas. You say an inning, I did it,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: just an inning. They I had to sell and they
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: would give me one inning of play by play. Iff I.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I was like twenty two, so the guys around me
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: were like thirty eight forty. They would have been doing
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: it for years. They probably resented me. And it was
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: hard because I wanted to be on the air more. Um,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: So I had to do sales all day and then
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: I would do prep and then I would do an
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: inning and save my tapes and I mean, my my.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: I spent like seven eight years in Vegas, a couple
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: of sales, a couple doing an inning, then a TV
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: station hired me. Vegas was a grind. It took years
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: off my life. Um, it was really really hard. I
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: didn't have a lot of money for probably the first
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: five six years child of divorced, so I went into
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: the city broke. I was broke fro about five six years.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I mean, had no money, um, and was working NonStop
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: ending of play by play doing sales, and a local
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: TV station hired me. I didn't internship turned into a
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: weekend sports job. Um, but I will tell you this, Um,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I needed other people, and there were a lot of
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: beer and chicken wing nights with TV people and radio people.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: And as you and I get more successful, I think
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: we'll just sort of naturally have fortresses around us. Right.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: You have the agent, you have the bosses, and you
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: don't deal with the day to day because you're gonna start.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: You're making so much money for the company now and
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: hopefully I am that. You know, we are two of
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: the people at the company that are you know, business
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: is thriving, and so this is where I wanted to be.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: But those journey years for me, I have such good memories,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: all the mistakes, all the dollar chicken wings. Um. I
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: was a more social animal then. I'm probably less social
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: now because it's more about family and business. So those
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: years I have very six seven years, very fond Vegas memories.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: The Mob was still in Vegas then, it was it
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: was a different town than it's very corporate now. I
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: feel like I got to see the old it was
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: transitioning old Vegas like the movie casino. You know, that
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: was just ending. And then I went to Vegas and
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: it was starting with instead of like a guy owning
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: a casino, it was the Hilton, it was the MGM,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: it was you know. So I felt like I was
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: in a transition stage in Vegas, and I feel so
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: lucky that I lived through that. I got on a
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Southwest flight once and Barry Switzer was on the flight
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: and I was like, dang, this crazy Barry Switzer, who's
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: from Arkansas near where I'm from, obviously coached Oklahoma with cowboys,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: but he's he's an Arkansas guy like me, and I
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: flipped out. And I think we're both probably pretty jaded
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: now when it comes to celebrities, because we know they
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: just happened to have a skill that culturally we deem
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: a little cooler than the rest. It just so happens
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: their skill is deemed cooler, and so at this point
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I don't get star struck by many folks, and I
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: would assume it's the same for you. But who have
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: you met in the last few years where you're just like,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: this is so freaking cool. I get to meet and
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: talk with you, Well, I'm always amazed. A lot of
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: people watch sports shows or see my clips, and I
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: think that the funniest story was, Uh, I was Phil
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Keith Overman had a show on ESPN years ago and
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: he took a couple of days off, and so they
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: called me and said, would you do Keith show? It
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: was a TV show in a New York setting. So
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I drove to New York State the night and I
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: did the show for a couple of days. And he
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: doesn't like college football much, so they said, hey, we
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: want to put some college football in the show. Uh,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: let's condo. Lisa Rice is a big fan of college football.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: I was like, awesome, um, and so I pre taped
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: the interview with Conda Lisa Rice. Right that you put
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: into the show and it looks live, and you tape
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: it for twelve fifteen minutes. You use eleven of unit
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: ten of it, and so like here we can see
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: each other on a screen and I'm like, um, two one,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, I hear this the herd
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: and I'm like, I'm like, she goes, Oh, I listen
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: to you every morning on the treadmill, and I'm like, um,
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: you're running the country. Stop that that Stop that right now?
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Don't do that. And we sat and talked about things
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: for about ten minutes and that was like one of
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: those this is really really cool, um that that's one
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: that really jumps out to me. And then I've had, UM,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: you know something I like? UM this football season, I've
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: been interviewing Sean Payton, Saints coach, for thirty minutes on
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Mondays and he comes into the studio and we talked
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: before he goes on the air, then during it, and
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: off and after, and I'm still a kid. I'm so
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: fascinated by how his mind works about football. I that
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: is my happy zone, talking football with one of the
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: five smartest offensive guys ever. And he's telling me stuff
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: on the air then off the air, Bobby, That to
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: me is that will never I could be ninety that
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: I've had these conversations with Jimmy Johnson off the air
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: in the green room when I used to do the
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Sunday show for Fox, and I would just pepper him
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: with questions and Bobby would tell me the Hurricane days
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: and that Dan Marino stories and the Dallas stuff that
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: you can't say on the air. That to me is
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: when I'm just jaw dropping in awe of of what
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I do for a living. I'm like, nobody's this is
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: the coolest thing in the world right now talking to
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Jimmy Johnson about the Miami hurricane days, and I can't
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: tell any of these stories on there. That's those are
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: the best stories. I get those a lot too, and
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I'm like, one day I'll be able to share this.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: And because you know, in this industry here, there's a
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: lot of shady stuff that goes down that's very interesting
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: and very entertaining, but it's also the shady stuff that
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: you can't share. And so I know, you know, Bobby,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: when I when I when I started in this business,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: I tell people this. In my twenties and early thirties,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: if I had information, I wanted to make sure everybody
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: knew I had information. Now I'm in my fifties, I
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: have to bury information because I've built up all these
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: sources through the years, and they tell me stuff and
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I can't let it out, and so I'll never write
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: a book on it. I'm not going to do a
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: coral though and write a book, you know, at the
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: end of my career. So I find that early in
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: my career I was like, hey, I got information I
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: want to tell you now, like you, you have sourcing,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: You want to be close to people, you want to
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: be trusted. And I don't say stuff. I got a
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: lot of information that I that I that I can
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: kind of use on the air as a direction or
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: are starting point on a story. But I I'm so
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: glad there are people out there that trust me, like GMS. Um,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: you know players and they know I'm not going to
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: burn them. Um. But that's the that's the part of
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: my job. Like you, you and I will have this closet,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: this little lack book of stories that that will never
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: get out. But that is one of the great things
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: about our job, that information and that proximity to people
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: that they trust us, and I really appreciate that. We're
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: gonna pause this interview with Colin cow Herd for just
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: a second, but okay, let's talk about Draft Kings. The

- 1:12:21Speaker 1: current questions for you real quick, and then I just
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: appreciate your time. Matt ruling Carolina. What was the issue there, Well,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: in college football, the coaches seventy percent of it. He's
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: the GM. He chooses the players, he develops them, he
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: builds the staff. There is no owner. So if you
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: go look right now in the SEC lane, Kiffin's really good.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: So was Nick Saban, So was Kirby Smart. Their teams
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: are good, right, doesn't The quarterback isn't as big a deal.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: I mean, Miss Old Miss just lost a quarterback and
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: they went and found another quarterback. It revolves around Saban
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: um or or Lane Kiffin in the PAC twelve best
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: coach by Lincoln Riley or a Chip Kelly. Well, the
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: teams are good. In the NFL, it's not sevent the coach.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: It's seventy percent the quarterback. Because the coach doesn't choose
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: the players. And Matt never got the right quarterback Donald
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: to Baker neither good enough to elevate a rebuilding roster.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: So in the NFL you get Josh Allen, You're just
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: gonna win games. You get Lamar Jackson, justin Herbert Burrow,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: you're gonna win a lot of games. And I mean Belichick,
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: one with Brady arians one with Brady. Todd Bowles is
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: winning with Brady, right, like the coach becomes less significant.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: So I just think Matt never got the guy at quarterback.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Do you think he goes to Nebraska or one of
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: these colleges or you think he sits out a little bit? Well,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: what I would do? First of all, he's gonna get
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: a big check. I would go golf for about four
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: or five months. Um, Wisconsin and Nebraska. I think here
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: b jobs. I think Oklahoma is an a minus job,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: but it's a good job. But Oklahoma is not open.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Think well, I mean Venables, he's gonna get three years, right,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know Oklahoma. Listen, you're moving
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: into the SEC. You can't mess around here. I mean,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: go look at the SEC right now. Kentucky is now good. Um,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: I mean, look how much better you feel about Arkansas's
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: roster today? And they're battling every week? It's just hard
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: and m now recruiting Bama Old Miss Florida May Billy Napier,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: maybe the right code. South Carolina is going who's that?
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: South Carolina is going to be pretty good too? Like you,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: you can't go into a conference on back to back
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: terrible seasons, depleted rookie. Remember the transfer portal, Bobby is
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: great if your USC and building, it's terrible if you're
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Oklahoma and reelink. Kids are gonna stay around forever, especially
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: offensive players. So I think you let Venables, you figure
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: out the rest of the year, and if it doesn't work,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: you pivot to offense. You get Matt rule. Um, we
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: all know this in our business right. If you make
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: a mistake, own it, don't double down on it, pivot
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: out of it fast. I think they I think they
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: whipped on Venables and it happens. Great programs do this.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Two final questions, what do you think the biggest issue
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: is in Denver? And I know Russ has what they
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: said today like an injury, a shoulder injury. Is it
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: Russ is a Nathaniel Hackett, Is it a combination or
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: are there being no problems they're just figuring it out. Well.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I do think the labor m you know, the lat
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: injury is something. He went from one of the great
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: deep ball throwers in the league to horrific in one
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: off season, So that doesn't make sense. Also, Nathaniel coordinator
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: seventy college and pro either fail or bomb venables looks
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: like a bomb. Um. You know, you guys at Arkansas
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: got a guy that does work. Kirby Smart has worked,
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: but how many how many of sabans guys didn't work?
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: How many of Belichick's guys haven't worked? And they had
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: this proximity to brilliance. So you know, my takeaway on
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Nathaniel Hackett is between Matt Lafleur and Aaron Rodgers. Bobby
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: what did he really do in Green Bay? Right? Like
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: if Kirby Smart, Kirby Smarts defensive coordinator goes to Oregon,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: he may work, but doesn't Kirby run the defense? Really?
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: So I mean, I I'm gonna trust Russell Wilson in
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: his tenure career, his Wisconsin career, his North Carolina State
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: career over Nathaniel Hackett. So I'd say it's an Hackett
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: problem today. And my final question is back to your
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: career and in your early days, who was the first
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: person that actually expressed to you and you believe them
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: that you could be great? Um? So I was. I
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: had worked in Vegas for seven years and then I
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: got a job in Tampa doing weekends and to supplement
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: my income. A local Rob Weingartenner I think is his name,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Rob wine Garden. He was a program director at a
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: sports talk radio station in Tampa and he had seen
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: me on TV and he said, I got this old guy,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Hubert Mizelli is a sportswriter, the late Hubert Minzella. Good friend.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: He goes, I want to couple you with him in
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: the mornings. I said I'd be awesome. So we did it,
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: and I've been doing it for about six months and
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: one day Rob came in and Rob said, hey, you
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: have a phone call. Um, I want you to call
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: this guy back after the show. He's a sports talk
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: radio consultant. His name is Rick Scott, Seattle Base. So
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: I did the show with Hubert. Hubert was very funny,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: We got long, great and the show was overnight. I
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: called this guy back and Rick Scott was in town.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: I think he he was, you know at that time,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Bobby and still is. There was like two or three
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: sports radio stations in town. And he had seen me
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: the night before in TV and he said, Uh, you
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: don't know who I am. He says, quit television. You're
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: going to be the rush Limbob sports talk radio host,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: and I went, what do you mean and he said,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I've heard everybody in the country. He goes, quit television.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: He goes, I'm gonna call you in about three months,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: four months, keep working at it, and blah blah blah
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: blah blah. A while later, a few months later. So
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: that was the first person that ever said anything. And
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: I was just like, you know, because I didn't listen.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I didn't listen to everybody else. I didn't know what
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: everybody else sounded like, except with people in Tampa they
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: were fine. And then a few months later, UM, I
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: was sending out TV tapes and another guy called me.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Bruce Arena ran station in Portland, and he said, I
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: got a call from Rick Scott and I was told
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: hire you. He goes, I've never heard of you, and
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: I've never heard your tape, but I trust Rick, so
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: you want to be my sports afternoon host. So that
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: was my big break. But that was the first time, um,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: I thought, you know, a Hugh Bobby. I thought it
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: was a hard worker, and I was talented, and I
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: cared about it and I was invested in it. But
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: nobody had ever said, hey, you could do this. And
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: it really inspired me. It was really inspiring to me.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: It was just like Wow, I almost felt like, Okay,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: this guy knows this industry way better than I do.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: I don't want to disappoint him. So it made me
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: work harder. You know, before sports Talk Ready, when I
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: first started was I was a TV guy and I
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: just liked talking and Hubert myl Mysel was very funny
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: and he had this sort of southern charm and I
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: just liked him. Were like the same stuff. We laughed
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: a lot um. But it didn't pay at all back then,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: and and and and it just wasn't as formidable like
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: with my heart as it is now. It just it
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: just wasn't. I think Rome was Jim Rome was just
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: starting and it just wasn't that. It wasn't the industry
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: that it is now. So that was it. That was
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: the first time somebody said, but you could potentially be
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: something pretty cool. Well, this is one of those moments
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: for me that I've mentioned earlier where it's just freaking
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: cool to be able to hang out. So thanks for
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: being so generous with your time. Been a massive fan forever,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: and I'll just continue to be a massive fan. And
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: that's that's it. So thanks Colin, and hopefully one day
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: I'll see in real life. Bobby. Um, you are beloved
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: at the company. Your career is on fire for a reason.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Musically gifted, verbally gifted, you have earned all of it.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: And um, you're one of the easiest guys in our
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: business or route for so I'm really happy for you.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Thanks Colin. I hope you have a great day. Thanks
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: for the time, buddy. Whether you're out getting gas and
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: cringing at that pump, maybe at your favorite restaurant and

- 1:20:52Speaker 1: inflation and it's hurting us all, including myself. Hey, it's
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: kicked off, Kevin. That's why I started using Upside. Upside

- 1:21:56Speaker 1: super pomp Colin, thanks for coming on the show. That's
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: really cool. There's a picture I mentioned before on Collins
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Twitter where he was having dinner and he's like, hey,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: Kim Kardashan's a restaurant and the guy sent across him
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: was like, Kevin Lagrette, who is the guy who orchestrated this?
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: Who dude, who I'm super close to in the company,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: And Kevin signing the check. But the picture was of
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Kim Kardashian. But I see Kevin, who I'm I talked
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: to four times a week right there, and so we have,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: you know, that connection, And I don't know if Kevin's listening.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: He says to listen to all of them. Kevin, if
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: you're listening, you text me right now and write it.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: Only write the word Rumpel still skin. And that's all.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: This is the test. Just I don't want you any
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: other message. Just text Rumpel still skin and push sind.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: That's all because when I saw him in Vegas, he
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: said the same thing. Man, listen to every single he said,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: kick off. Kevin's like his favorite, yeah, And I'm like, bro,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: what I don't like that part. He can be like
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: a second favorite than the protester that ran on the
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: field and got hit. Yeah, Wagner popped him. Yeah. Uh
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: you know he had a concussion. And I want you
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: to feel sorry for him. He's I don't know, I'm
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: just gonna sue or yea like nobody at least report
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: nobody has any sympathy for him. Right. I'm just making
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: sure because sometimes my tempers are not the same as
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: everybody else. But I have zero sympathy for him because
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: he did all of that to himself. He ran on
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: the field with a pink flare in the middle of
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: a game while it was happening and wanted attention. You
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: know what, you got attention, loud, hard attention, and it hurt.
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: And that's what happens. You walked into the lion's den
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: and the lion bit you and then ate you, and
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: then you you're upset, like, we'll do what'sup with that lion? No, no, no,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: you went in. So I have no sympathy for him,
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: So we're gonna move off of him. No, he should
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: get no money. Actually he should have to pay money
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: a fine totally like you. We don't know if you
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: have a knife or a bomb or a gun, or
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: if you're gonna pull out pecker. We don't know, and
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: so you can't do that. Pecker is a funny word.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: It's so funny. Thank you come to It's organic. Pecker
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: is a funny word. Now we're gonna get to the
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: guy that walked out. I would say darted in front
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: of hes, not like a lawyer or now i I'm
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: not popular opinion on this, and you guys had the
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: opinion the opinion most people had because that was the
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: shot that was seen. It looks like he really shoved
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: him and out of nowhere. And if you guys have
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: gone back that way, that's fine too, because the narrative
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: is Davante Adams a bad dude and shouldn't have done that.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: That's the narrative. But the video that I showed you guys,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: it's all I need to see. Do I think he
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: was upset? Absolutely? But do I think that dude started
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: right in front like half a step he was going
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: to hit him anyway? Yes, regards I think a little bit.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: Adams was like, yo, bro, what happened? Like, get off me?
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: But it wasn't. He didn't see him standing there and
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: walking to shove him out of the way. Justice for
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: Davanta Adams, And I said, and I kept getting not
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: a good look, bro, Oh you know the best the best.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Worst thing that was said. Somebody was trying to insult
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: me and they said classic rich people say together, WHOA
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: And I was like, thank you, Like you think I'm rich,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: You're Davante rich. No, But the person on Twitter was like, yeah,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: of course, which people say together? And I was like
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: I'm confused. It's a complimentary and so it was awesome
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: to have to have that said about me to thank you.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: Um did the camera guy, did he sustain any injuries? Yeah? Filed.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: So the police report is not a full like misdemeanor thing.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: It's like a city ordinance type thing where it's a
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: little bit of fine. Um. He says he did. But
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: he went to the doctor on his own, like private mine.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: He hopped right up. Not that you can't get in
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: an accident in your neck hurts a few days later,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: but even most of those have faith. Most so I
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: see him justice for Dante. Man. He's gonna have to
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: be suspended now because the outcry is so loud. But
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: if you saw from that perspective, the video that was his,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: a random phone that happened to catch it. The dude.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: It's like if I'm driving a car and there's not
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: a crosswalk and I'm driving at somebody walks in front
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: of me and I hit him and you're like, bro,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: why did you run him over? Let's say I'm leaving
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: my my Uh. Let's say I get a fight with
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Eddie and I'm leaving EDI's house on a piss Eddie
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: just beat me at PlayStation, and I'm leaving a piss
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: and I'm upset. So no, it's not. And I'm so irritated,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: and I'm driving home like, oh, jan man, it's somebody
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: darts in front of me and I hit him. You're like, well, yeah,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: of course he's pissed. So he ran into that person
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: across the street. No, no, I couldn't stop. Person jumped
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: right in front of the car. And so that's a
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: lot of I swear to God that's what happened. Let
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: me tell you. Let me tell you a true story.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: I was walking my dog a few years ago at night,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: and I was on the sidewalk and there was a
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: guy unloading groceries from his trunk. He didn't see me.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: I was behind him and I came behind like it
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: was just a bush blocking us, but I saw it.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: There was someone there, so I wasn't scared. He heard
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: my dog and he turned around and put his hands
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: up like he was gonna punch an attack, and I
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: was like, whoa dude, just walking my dog. He's like,
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: holy dude, you scared me. And I'm like I'm sorry,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: I didn't mean too, and he goes it's all right,
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: almost almost punched you. That's crazy. That's a reaction. I
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: surprised him. It was a reaction. This dude darted right
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: in front of them, right out front of him. He's
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: he reacted, get out of my way. What's he doing
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: crossing right then? Anyway? Exactly split second, split second reactions
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: like that, especially when a players coming off the field.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I mean, the guys. The guy just lost the game,
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: but it's not even about the loss. Honestly, he jumped.
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: He could have been walking off after a win, like yeah,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: it just the guy. There's no time with the narrative
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: have been different, you think if they want, yes, of
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: course it, yes, absolutely would have been. But also I
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: don't think Devant his head would have been down. He
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: wouldn't have been because part of that too was he
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: wasn't looking. He lowed, lowered his head and by the
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: time he did look up, he's right there and he's
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: like oh. He throws his arms out. What he called
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: it targeting, So it was clean as a clean hit.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: I'm upset because I don't know why. It just feels
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: like it's injustice. I'm not I'm not a big Raiders fan.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: I'm not a Davante Adams fan. I don't not like
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: Davantae Adams. Have heard nice things about him as a person,
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: heard great things about him as a person. So now
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: he's gonna be suspended for cold games. Probably it appears
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: that apologiesn't enough. Davantae Adams at his emotion to get
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: the best of him. The story says he shoved talking
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: to the ground. I don't feel like that's fair he apologized.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: I feel like the apology was even forced. I think
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: he would have apologized differently. If he would, they would
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: have let him been like they guys stepped in front
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: of me, had me for that to happen, and hate
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: that it happened. But I didn't do that. But they
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: were probably just trying to, you know, stem it quickly.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: But the police report, NFL is investigating la la la,
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: And then you want to say to wrap this this
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: part up. I think justice for Davante's what I think.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: Right there with you and other camera guys have said, hey,
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: you're gonna give us a bad look. What are you doing, dude?
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: And he was freelance for ESPN, So yeah, there's that.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Why don't we do I saw Brady bought a pickleball team.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: Now do you really? Uh? Brady and Kim Closters together
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: after Lebron just bought one to Wenna Big Pickuball special
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: on CBI. I'm telliance, it's the thing we I've been
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: playing for a while. Love it. I had jo and
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: I was like, dude, why don't we buy a pickaball team.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I don't how much it cost, but let's just see
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: that'd be cool. We have a little group of folks, me, Jake,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: Brett l Dredge, Morgan Evans. There's a big kid Rock
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: plays a bunch big pickleball group here. I should all
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: buy a team all of us, would Man, you go
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: into business a kid Rock? It could to Jerry, that's right, Jerry, Jerry,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: let me tell you. I thought that's pretty cool. They
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: buying pickaball teams professional pickaball. I don't know how much
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: the team's cost, but it's probably more about the league
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: letting you buy it and then secondly funding it. Yeah,
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: which is a big part of it. But I'll get
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: with Jake Jack's rich. Yeah, alright, Jake barefeet Blue Jean
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: played again and we have him a little more money
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: for Okay, let's do the game. You're most excited about
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: this week, Let's go over to you, Kevin. Tennessee Bama
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: all day. I can't wait for this game. I haven't
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: been this excited four game in a while, especially regular season.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: I just want to see if Tennessee is the real deal.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: They get to play at home, there's no excuses. You know,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: Bryce Young, whether he's banged up or not, that place
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: is gonna be rocking. I'm jealous of everybody that's going there.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: Gonna be a great game and I can't wait. And
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: even if they lose, they can still prove to be
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: the real deal. Honestly, you don't have to win to
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: be the real deal. Not when it's Alabama. You're playing
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: the number other two this week, right, Georgia flipped him
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: again there I think going back and forth. Um, you
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: know they can you play close, play a really good,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: strong game, and still be oh wow, that's the real deal. Now,
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: remember you can lose and have our loss and still
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: go playing the SC Championship. Win that. You can lose
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: the S Championship, so go play for the national Championship.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: We've seen that. So I think real deal isn't winning.
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: You'd love to win. If you're them obviously, but real
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: deal is just really playing and showing that you deserve
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: to be in that conversation. So that's go Eddie game. Um,
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: I haven't picked the Cowboys yet, so I'm gonna if
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: you want to hit the alarm, you can. But the
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: Cowboys and the Eagles is my game of the week,
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: like this is. I think that's a big game for everybody.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: I mean, he's just watching, so, yes, you are biased,
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: but I think that Yeah, I've been very careful to
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: not to pick the Cowboys every week because obviously that's
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: the one I'm looking forward to every week. Me too.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: That's a big Cowboys fan. Boys Adam. Uh. Surprisingly, I
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: on myself watching more and more Big twelve football this year,
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: uh kind of kind of randomly because it's so up
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: in the air. Um, the teams are better than what
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: I think everybody thought. I'm excited to see Oklahoma State
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: TCU this week. TCU looks really good. Oklahoma State, Um,
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: they've got they've got some weaknesses, but still playing great offensively.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: I think there's just gonna be a lot of fireworks
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: in that ball game. It's gonna be and it's I
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: think that's gonna tell you who wins the Big twelve
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: that game right there. I'll go with the Bills and
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: Chiefs because I feel like somebody has to and it's
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: just gonna be awesome. That's the rivalry. We love rivalries,
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: and it's not somebody to hate, you know, hate out
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: the one of the quarterbacks. It's it's crazy. Oh I
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: love them both. Yeah, they're not hate. I know, it's
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: like it's like that's wine. I never watched Iron Man
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: versus Captain America because I liked them bothing this is that.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: But you know, I'm gonna bet on one of them.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: I was having a bet on one in Captain America.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: I man, I probably would have, but I think that's good,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: you know, just biased. Like the Arkansas B y U
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: games interesting because we can win that and still have
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: a better season las year. And we had a great
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: season last year, so that would be an interesting We've
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: never been to Utah to play and so that'd be
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: that'd be fun. I think we're gonna have Rocket Sanders
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: on next week. Who's leading the SEC and rushing Who
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: is yes, Arkansas running back, but he's the number one
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: rushing guy in the SEC. Right now. I've met Rocket. Yeah,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: that's right, that's my guy. He would have come on
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: this week, but they're playing by you, and I was like, dude,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: you gotta buy a week next week. We'll get you
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: on maybe Monday or Tuesday and next week, so we'll
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: do that. So that game, I'm super pumped about, Mike,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: any games specifically that you care about. You what you're
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: excited about Cowboys for figuring, although I'm going to a
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: post blown concert that night, I might have watched on
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: my phone, h and they'll be, well, he's a big
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Cowboys fan too, maybe have it. Yeah, but what will
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: that be on Peacock? That's Sunday Night, so that's just
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: regular TV, n B, ESPN, NBC Peacock. That's what I said. Okay,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, that's what I thought. That's Sunday Night, right, Peacock. Yeah,
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: but I have Hulu Live so I can watch it.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: Oh you can't. Hey, we're playing the Operation, yeah, but
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: we play at ninth exactly right, We're gonna private you.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: There's a thing though. We're doing three songs. I love
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: it in and out? Quick? Can I take my phone
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: on stage? Like three songs? All right? Walk off after
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: yourself maybe we can plant to where it's half time.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: We don't want to plan it. They hired us to
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: come out there, all right, yea, we'll get to Adam
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: stats and just the second. Let's do first. I'll do
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: my parley at the week. Yes, more smiles and frowns.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: They when you guys bet this on the Draft Kings app,
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: it does a lot for this show. Honestly, if you
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: go and you click that thing and you bet, it
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: does help us. It makes them go, well, people actually care.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: And so if you go over to Draft Kings on
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Saturday morning, they usually put it up there in that
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: top little scroll. Go beat the whistles one if you
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: want to bet the parlay because that helps us, and
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: you don't have to you don't have to bet it
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: at all. But if you do, we that would help us.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: And if they like us, we get to keep Do
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: you keep doing the show? We only got twenty five
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: episodes and then we're out. Okay, So reminder, twenty five
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: whistles brought you by Drafting Sports Book and official sports
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: betting partner of the NFL. Download the Draft Kings app
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: used to code Bobby Sports to get it on the action.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: Now here's my parlay of the week. We got three games.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: First of all, we're going Alabama minus seven at Tennessee.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: Everybody's betting on Tennessee and taking the plus seven ain
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: doing that. I'm going to Alabama. The Tide are going
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: to roll. That's game number one. Game number two Oklahoma State,
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: they're getting three and a half points. I'm taking Oklahoma
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: State at TCU. I know TCU has been rolling to
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: and I'm taking Oklahoma State. I'm taking the three and
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: a half points, although I'm tempted to take the money
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: line because i do think Oklahoma State is gonna win.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that just in case they don't. Finally,
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: Arkansas over b y U right now, let's pick them.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: It maybe one, one and a half either way by
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: the time you see this on Saturday. But I'm going
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: with Arkansas money line. Wherever the money line is, take
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: Arkansas on the money line because they're gonna win. They're
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: gonna go to be b y U. Arkansas is back.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: As far as they got the quarterback back, They're bigger, stronger. Yeah,
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: they gotta go to Utah. That is at times a
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: tough place to play, but luckily it's a two thirty,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: not at night. Okay, So those are your games. More
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: smiles than Frowns. Alabama minus seven or seven and a
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: half or eight, I think they'll win by ten o
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: clumb State plus two points and take Arkansas on moneyline.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: Those are your three games. Make a lot of make
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: a lot of smiles, that's all I can say. That's right,
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: more smiles than Frowns. Go get it, more smiles, that's
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: what we say. We are on the parlay's officially remember
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: part the multiple games and won four and one. It's bizarre,
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: it's lovely, it's crazy. I will bet your parlay. But man,
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks, I've been doing these crazy
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: twelve thirteen game parlays and I've been missing like three
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: out of all the games, and I'm thinking God would
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: make some serious smiles if I would just bet these
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: just straight up five dollars, ten dollars a game. Whatever,
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: don't you so I might do that this swing because
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: it's just scary because you're putting more money out there.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: Why don't you do a dollar on every NFL game
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: or whatever you're gonna do and just see how you
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: turn out the dollar. I mean, yeah, I can make
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: up to like fifteen dollars. But what I like about
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: those dollar big parlay bets is like you put a
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: dollar down, you win like four grand. That's what I
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: like about. What you don't like is you never win, correct,
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: But I get so close that if you want to
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: take the twenty five Whistles partlet, you can check out

- 1:37:01Speaker 1: All right, It's time for Adam Stats. Adam Stats, Adam
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: half All Year's stats for you, Adams Josh Allen counted
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: for all twelve of the Bills offensive touchdowns going into
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: Week five. Every touchdown that the Bill scored. Going to
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: Week five, no single running back touched, no single no
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: single running back scored a touchdown for the Bills until
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: this last week when rookie James Cook got his first
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: NFL touchdown twenty six yards there in garbage time in
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: the blowout wind over the Steelers. That's crazy and he's
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: either running in himself or throwing it. There's another guy's score.
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: And I have singletary gonna say, and was draft? What
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: did you get? Four fifth rounds? Yeah, something like that,
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: something like that. Oh, I still have a moss too,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: is sitting there. Um, but I don't think. I mean,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: I don't know. I thought he was gonna be really
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: good coming out, but nothing's really happened there. That's an
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: interesting stat Yeah, v m v P type stuff right there. Um.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: My other one is Mississippi States Will R. Dgers now
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: the SEC's all time completions record holder, passing Aaron Murray
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: who set the record to that's the thirteen um. Rogers
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: currently leads the entire nation with yards. Uh The question
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: uh talk answer system quarterback go ahead, Uh. Talking heads
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: were really down in Missisippi State going into the year,
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: even though they had Will Rogers coming back. Um, they
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: had a really solid defense coming back. Um, but they
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: were like dead wrong about Mississippi State. Which team is
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: your favorite? Holy cow, we got that wrong. Story of
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: the season NFL or College the Giants, Yeah, four and one,
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: and only because I don't know that we fully appreciated
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: or understood the culture that that coaching staff, if all
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: would bring, you know, So I think they were at
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: five games in the year, maybe they'd win five games,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: six games. That went to me that just comes to
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: mind immediately was like if you'd ask me how I
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: said they would have got with three games because they
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: had everything is the same basically except for the coaching staff,
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: which we don't get to draft in fantasy, so we
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: just hear other people talk about it. And you knew
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: he worked with Josh Allen, your News Buffalo, you know
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: all that, But what does that really mean? Right? And
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: you heard caw Heart say these coordinators go in and
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: they flare out, and so I think the Giants for
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: me that that's the first one that comes to mind.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: It's like, dang, that's wrong. Um. Also I think they're
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: not winning a ton of games. But and just because
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: they're local and I spent the time with the coach,
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: Vanderbilt's fighting and they got a couple of playmakers, and
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: so I don't know if I was wrong about them,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: but maybe my feeling was wrong, and that it's classic
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: Vanderbilt like they they'll sneak up and play you close.
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: Even the teams that they played ranked I mean outside
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: of Bama, I guess, but um they fought, yeah, they
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: And then there's every once in a while they make
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: a highlight, which is not because they have playmate. They
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: never had playmakers. They're in all second half. But Eddie,
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: I'm a little upset still at Vandy, but were not
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: covering in Alabama, so that one's still a little bitter
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: in my heart. I'm going I'm gonna I mean, oh gosh,
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: don't ring this again, but I'm gonna go Cowboys, and
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: I'm including myself in this. Cowboys. I'm including myself in
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: this because when Dak went down, I'm like, well, there
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: goes our season, really, And I'm I'm a dumb ask
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: for saying that, because look at us winning games with
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: Cooper Rush. So I think it's great. I'm happy to
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: be here in this position saying that. So that's me Cowboys.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: For me, it's the Broncos all the way. I don't
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: know if it's like a Russell Wilson thing for me.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: Now I've got this like hatred towards him, but they're
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: built up all offseason with they're gonna be so good
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: and so good in their offense and this is not
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Nathaniel Hackett and it's just been nothing but terrible. Yeah,
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: it's interesting because Cowar brought up Nathaniel Hackett too, and like,
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: what did he really do? We don't know. He was
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: with the great people that were great, so did he
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: was he great too? Or was he just with great
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: people that at And then Russell Wilson is injury? Is that?
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: But yeah, the Broncos have been a big disappointment. I
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: mean on the I think the Raiders too. I thought
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: they'd be better, Actually they missed. For me, I thought
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Trabisky would be better. I did think he'd be six
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: and a half out of ten instead of to an
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: a half, which is what happened. I thought Travis you
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: would be better. Yeah, yeah, Adam, I'm I'm kind of
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: with you. On your on your negative take on the question.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: All the hype about Texas A and m coded the season,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: I just thought there was no way they were gonna
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: even come close to living note to it. And I
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: just am not a Jimbo Fisher fan and so so
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: watching them, watching them lose the games that they've lost
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: this year. Uh, here you went. I knew they wouldn't. No, No,
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I like the I'm talking the general hype
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: from the season. Uh, like everybody else thought that. I like.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: I like seeing Texas and him not live up to
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: that hype. I really enjoyed that. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah,
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: it sucks. I know, I know. I still hear the
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: claim in my dreams. All right, there you go. Adam stats,
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: thank you very much, as he's got those stats before
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: your phone. So we were recording this on Thursday. I
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: don't know the story about the Commanders, and I don't know.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: Kevin was like, hey, do you wanna hear the story
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: about the owners? Snider and not like, I don't know
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: about it, so just tell me live. By the time
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: this comes out, that's probably a story everybody knows. But
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: this is my reaction. Don't know what happened. No, nothing
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: about it, and a lot about Dan Seider. But I
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: don't know anything about this. Go ahead, Okay. So ESPN
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: dropped the story this morning and it all talks about
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: Dan Snyder and now we hired private investigators and a
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: law firm to quote blow up NFL owners and commissioner
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: Roger Goodell. We blow up. So you know they're all
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: coming after him. They wanted to sell the team. Yeah,
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: he's basically turning it on them and saying, Oh, you guys,
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: don't think I can find dirt on you. So he's Jim.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: So he's hired p I s to go in and investigate.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: It's an awesome talk about and find dirt on them.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: And he says, quote, the NFL is on mafia. All
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: the owners hate each other. And then another owner says, quote,
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: that's not true. All the owners just hate Dan. Hey,
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: do we get a live NFL version? Well they do
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: have that. They have too. Oh yeahfl all this the
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: XFL is coming back. They're just not funded by Saddy
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: money that we know. It's like it's like a drama
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: series of that's really rich people. That's a great show though.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: The owners and how it's so motivated politically and not
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: not not politically climbing, but you gotta play politically with
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: the owner or the drama. Listen if they're coming out.
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: I don't think Dan snyders a good dude. I think
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: Dan Snyder is a bad owner. The DC fans, it
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: sucks for you. You got a bad owner. All this
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: that being said, if you're going after somebody but you
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: don't expect them to come back, yeah, you're being naive.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: So I'm not surprised by this. It's funny. It's out
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: as the drama. It's interviewed questions and people don't wanta
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: have to answer. That's hilarious. It's Ryan the brand of
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: Dan Snyder. Let's see what happens. I'm like, let's go
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: with my hands together. Let's like crap. Guys in the
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: in the helicopter with Jerry there, like, you better hope
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: some stuff didn't come out and then we don't get
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: to do it. You're right, good point. I was gonna.
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: I was already thinking being in the helicopter and be like, hey, Jerry,
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: Dan Snyder crazy rights. He was in the story too.
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: They asked to interview him, but he said he didn't
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: want to speak. Who did Jerry Jerry waiting from Yeah,
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: our interview with Summer I love, Yeah, Dan Snyder sleazy dude.
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: But if you know you go and you're trying to
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: fight a bull, the bulls gone for sure, uses horns
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: and take a couple of stats. Yeah. All right, Well
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: that's what's up, you know. Thank you guys for being here.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: Final thoughts from everybody before we were wrap her up today,
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: Kevin Final thought of the day. I watched a documentary
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: on Netflix the other night. If you guys have seen
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: it yet, The Redeemed Team one about the o A
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: Olympic basketball team NBA and how they had to redeem
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: themselves from oh Ford. I saw some clips on TikTok.
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: I did not know that was a Netflix documentary series.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: I recommend it. It's about an hour and forty minutes
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: and the just of two takeaways so I won't give
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: anything up is the legend of Kobe Bryant just continues
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: the girl. When you watch that and coach k you
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: hear about how legendary is, but you don't really know
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: because he's a coach, not a player. You get to
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: see something behind the scenes, stuff that he uses and
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: does and it's awesome. That's the Kobe stuff to me
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: is weird. And I've seen a couple people talk about this,
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: like the ruthless stuff that he would do, and it's
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: very romantic sized. But then one guy was like, man,
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: they're like making Kobe seems like a hero and he
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: was doing like a parody. Is like, yeah, man, I
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: remember playing Kobe once. It's twenty four and I knew
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: he meant business. And you know, my mama died when
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: I was eight. I got on the court, Kobe said
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: he had hired somebody. It turns out Kobe hired somebody
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: killed my mom when I was eight. So when I
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: played him one day, you know, I'd be sad. And
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: they're like, man, that's how you know he's a leader.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: It's like, what's wrong with you? People like some of
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: the Kobe stuff. He's just he was just a dick,
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: but dick because in his mind the number one thing
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: was winning. Michael Jordan's a dick, Like probably bad dude,
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: but because he wants so much. We kind of got
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Tom Brady right. You don't to hang out with him,
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: He probably don't. You probably wouldn't want to hang out
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: with you. Yeah, exactly. I'm saying, you know, people that
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: have that sort of mindset are just different people in general,
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: and I'm not saying that we aren't all And listen,
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: I am as driven and as focused, and probably people
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: think I'm weird in different ways. People think absolutely, okay,
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: so we do. My point is something suf Kobe did.
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: It seemed like a very nice guy, I think to do,
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: you know, but hilarious when the guys like, yeah, man,
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: Kobe murdered a whole village, but he did that to win.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: And then he showed me a picture of it on
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: this phone and I was like, my cousin, he was
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: in that. He goes, yeah, I did that seven years
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: ago because any one day had meet you on the street.
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: He's like, man, he's a real winner. He knew what
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: he was doing. Eddie. Final thought, So we are a
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: football podcast, guys. I don't know if you guys are
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: excited the way I am. I saw a commercial pop
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: up of football World Cup starting next month. I love
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: the World Cup only if America is playing. They are playing,
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: and I don't know. It's something about waking up in
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: the morning and the game being on it, like you know,
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: on a Saturday at six in the morning or something.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: I'm I saw it and I got really excited because
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: I just love the World Cup. I hate watching Premier League.
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: I don't watch that crap, but World Cup time, I
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: get pumped. You know that morning sport thing. I'll save
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: that for London NFL when I'm watching two terrible NFL
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: teams make me really interested or if you playing otherwise
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: I get back. I don't. I don't know what and
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: if I'm sure. If I grew up into the country,
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: it was always Amazon my culture, I'd love it. I
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: just am not and don't and not me. But the
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: World Cup, you are, though, just for the United States.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: If we're ever out of it, I don't care anymore.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: The first two yeah, I can't wait to watch play
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: for us. I don't Adam as a long time Amazon
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: Prime stock remember and stockholder Amazon Jeff Bezos, for the
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: love of all that is good, please get us a
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: good Thursday night game. Because I love watching Herb Street
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: and Al Michael's call games. I think that's fantastic. But
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: these uh, they've had some real stinkers this year except
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: for the first the first game. Generally that there's my
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: game is pretty weak, Like, that's why they put it there.
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: The London games a pretty weak. That's why even on Sunday,
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: That's why they put them there. You know, last week
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: was the first time in London there's two winning teams
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: that put each other. But I don't think they meant
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: for the Giants to ever win when they scheduled that.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: They don't schedule because I think the Giants are gonna
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: be good. They usually yeah, I bet the Packers like,
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: why are we going to London? We don't have a
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Jaguar on our helmet? Like what that they picked the
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: wrong team. My favorite thing about that game was watching
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: the British people in cheeseheads trying to figure out what
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: was going on. New division maybe of teams in the
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: NFL in the UK. That's the conversation, not just one
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: team because I'd be all the flying back and forth,
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: but before teams out there, you know the Amsterdam's and
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: they have to fly here to play and we have
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: to fly there to play. But unless they played for
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: only a couple of few because if they're playing each other,
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: their own divisions out of those weeks will be there.
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: But yes, they played each other twice. Are there six games.
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: There's by a week they have to fly here for
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: other things to fly once. Man if Amsterdam has to
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: play San Francisco, like you've got to take San Francisco.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: I thought, because they're both high, those teams are just
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: floating him. I didn't think about that. That one brings
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: one from the other. I like to commend Adrian Peterson
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: room when he was injured, and I mean he bounced
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: back through an a c L here quicker than basically
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: anyone and everyone ever at that level, and everybody else
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: was compared to him, like Adrian Peterson did it here.
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: A bulldog just tore two a c ls. He knew
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: it very well. He's not Adrian Peterson right now, but
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: I have him on the regiment. I was looking see
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: what Adrian Peterson eight training schedule. We're gonna beat it.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: We're gonna beat it, and he's gonna be back in
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: action quicker that Adrean Peterson was manly win the rushing
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: title of South Nashville. I mean, he's a bulldog. Good chance. Yeah,
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: it's more like my gals thanon. But all right, that's
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: what's up. Thank you, guys, Kevin, you can whistle us.
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: I did a great job, and you're not. Hey, I
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: like you not wearing a hat. Yeah, I had to
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: change up on a little bit. Whistles in the other room.
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: By the way, here did I get my whist Why
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: don't you just blow it? We'll say it's Kevin all right,
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: This is Kevin doing okay, Kavin. That's a really weak
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: whist was we Why were you? Why were your lips
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: trembling before you did it? Why didn't you lick all
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: around the rim and then stick it all the way
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: in your mouth. I've never seen one blow whistle from
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: being in the throat. That's weird. Hey, do you do
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: what you do? Buddy? That's say okay, thank you guys.
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: That's Kevin again, Anyboddy? All right? We'll see you guys
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: next week. By Wee
