- 0:02You can only make some things an excuse or you should have to
- 0:05clutch until you come to a realization.
- 0:11Is it really as bad as you think it is, or are you not seeing
- 0:19things differently now? What do you think I'm relating
- 0:24that to? So earlier this week I had
- 0:34talked about how for whatever reason, people like to use
- 0:40mental health. In a lot of cases he has an
- 0:44excuse or a clutch to try get a get out of trouble free card.
- 0:58But, and again, every situation varies, OK, that's just the
- 1:03reality. But you can't use that as an
- 1:09excuse thinking it's gonna help you in life.
- 1:14Now, if you're talking about yours truly, I will put myself
- 1:19out on Front St. OK, so in case many of you know
- 1:25or probably don't know, I was born autistic.
- 1:32Yep, I was born autistic. And you know, when you're as
- 1:42young as I was, you know, trying to understand what really meant
- 1:46as a kid, you know, really anything.
- 1:53But of course, you know, as you get older, you start to
- 1:55understand really what it means and what it meant ultimately.
- 2:02Now, mind you, in my instances are my form of autism or beehive
- 2:09functioning from what I was told, but what have you?
- 2:18And the reason I know is shared it with pretty much anyone else,
- 2:23kid, as far as you know, my peer group, was I afraid of game, you
- 2:30know, retaliation or picked on even more?
- 2:35Absolutely. I mean, if you were in my
- 2:38possession, you probably would feel the same way.
- 2:42And did I use that times as an excuse?
- 2:45I'm not gonna lie to you, I actually did.
- 2:50I mean, I'm not gonna sugar coke.
- 2:51I mean, I did at one point use it as an excuse, but then I
- 3:02kinda have like a moment to myself.
- 3:06I had to really sit back. Now, mind you, this was when I
- 3:10was almost about to turn pretty much 18.
- 3:18It was at that point, well, I really had to, you know, when I
- 3:22had a moment to myself, I had to think it's being autistic really
- 3:31as bad as, you know, some people try to tell me, but more
- 3:37importantly, what's it as bad as I thought it is?
- 3:43You know, 'cause while you watch, you know, TV, you know,
- 3:48scrolling social media will go out in public.
- 3:53I see a lot of people that you have no mobility means absolute
- 4:02no mobility anywhere or in wheelchairs, some with cerebral
- 4:12palsy, some that can't even speak, or in the rare case of a
- 4:21few, how many absolutely none of their realms mean arms, legs,
- 4:28what have you. Or, unfortunately, in the
- 4:33occasional days, ALSAKA, Ruth. Karen's disease.
- 4:50And I had to think to myself, wow, you know, here I am
- 4:57thinking that being someone with a, or be it my own form of
- 5:03autism. But, you know, again, this is
- 5:06when I was as a kid, you know, high functioning.
- 5:12I had to really sit back and think to myself, was I looking
- 5:21at all of this this whole time the wrong way?
- 5:25Was I looking at from the perspective that here I am able
- 5:33to do things that a lot of people, you know, just in the
- 5:38few examples that I named probably can't do 'cause they
- 5:43have a voice than me. That I didn't really see it all
- 5:50the way. And that moment probably stuck
- 5:57with me more than 8. And it was at that point I said,
- 6:06you know what, I was looking at it, you know, in the wrong way
- 6:13that I didn't really take into account everything.
- 6:21And I didn't especially outweigh, you know, things that
- 6:30I probably should have at one point but was too naive to
- 6:34understand. So I decided no more no more
- 6:45playing yet as a clutch and certainly not use it as an
- 6:50excuse anymore. And since that day again when I
- 6:56was almost turning 18, I never looked back on its sets.
- 7:03And let me tell you something, this could've easily been a
- 7:08thing. Why I could've like broke me as
- 7:12far as me being artistic and as far as, you know, my mind, my
- 7:21spilling way. I couldn't let those things
- 7:24happen. But if I did that, that would've
- 7:29been the ultimate cop. And it would've been in some
- 7:34ways the easiest way to try to be more sorry for myself, but I
- 7:45couldn't do that anymore 'cause I would have been used this
- 7:48service to myself if I continue to even did so.
- 7:55So I wasn't going to let it break me any longer, but instead
- 8:01I was going to let it refine me and make me a better person.
- 8:08Because at the end of the day, and I've kind of adopted this
- 8:13kind of thought process and I actually get this more for my
- 8:20dad 'cause he actually reminds me more often than I actually
- 8:25need. And I'm actually grateful.
- 8:30He said. He always says to me, as long as
- 8:34I'm given life and I'm healthy, that's more than enough reason.
- 8:41Let me say that again if I'm given life and if I'm healthy
- 8:47has more than enough ovaries and since he since he told me that
- 8:56I've not only adopted that I've go by cause luck.
- 9:03We all have our shortcomings and the first season life and we
- 9:11could easily let these things be the back breaker for many of us.
- 9:19But it's all about my same approach.
- 9:23How do you manage to approach these kinds of things without
- 9:30essentially trying to feel sorry for yourself?
- 9:38Because as I said, not only could that be an easy cop out,
- 9:46continue to feel sorry for you and continue to use as an
- 9:50excuse, but that's when the mindset part of it comes into
- 9:56play. Because at the end of the day,
- 10:00you have two choices. You can either let wherever you
- 10:06think it's a set back in or the efficiency for you break your
- 10:13mind and spirit. Or you can do the smart thing
- 10:23and you can find a way you use it as a method to be better.
- 10:33Don't use the first option. Always go to 2nd.
- 10:38At the end of the day, you can still make something out of your
- 10:41life. You can still make a lot of good
- 10:45things happen. And why don't you have your
- 10:49shortcomings, deficiencies, whatever, doesn't matter.
- 10:55You can make something out of nothing because if you give a
- 10:59life, that is all that matters. But again, it's all about how
- 11:04you approach it. It is what's gonna be the define
- 11:09of four.
