- 0:00Well, it's that time again. Time for another edition of the
- 0:02Urantia Radio Podcast. This time up, we're going to be
- 0:05talking about Marancha Moda. I've been giving some good read
- 0:09to a section from Paper 48 on Marancha Moda.
- 0:12What is Moda and why does it matter?
- 0:15But anyway, I also want to point out that the Discover Jesus app
- 0:20is out, and it's great. Go to discover Jesus dot App.
- 0:26That's kind of an unusual extension, but it'll get you to
- 0:28the home page. And then from that point on,
- 0:31it's it's like kind of like Wikipedia on steroids, but
- 0:35having to do with the the 4th part of the Urantia book, the
- 0:39life and teachings of Jesus. So it's a real good journey and
- 0:42it's absolutely free. And the folks at Center for
- 0:45Unity over in Israel and elsewhere, all the participants
- 0:49are very excited. It launched on November 15th.
- 0:52It's out there for the world to see and absorb, and we want to
- 0:56wish those folks continued great success on their projects.
- 0:59Also, next week we'll be hopefully joined by a gentleman
- 1:03who is putting a focus on filming, putting together films,
- 1:07having to do with Urantia book subject matter.
- 1:10So stay tuned for that and other things coming up too.
- 1:14A couple of Fellowship association conferences.
- 1:17If you go to your my website, urantiaradio.net and click on
- 1:21Community, you'll see a list of things that are upcoming in the
- 1:25new year for the Urantia community globally.
- 1:28So check that out in a moment. Marancha Moda, Why does it
- 1:32matter? It's an interesting trip on a
- 1:35different kind of philosophy, and it's something that they say
- 1:38that they're going to be teaching us in the next life
- 1:40ahead when this journey here on Earth is over.
- 1:43So we'll get to that in just a moment.
- 1:45You're listening to the Arrancha Radio Podcast.
- 2:08Welcome back to the Urantia Radio Podcast.
- 2:11I'm your host, Jim Watkins, longtime reader and student of
- 2:14The Urantia Book, and always exciting to see and hear so many
- 2:19things. Great articles that are being
- 2:20posted. Get connected if you can.
- 2:23If you want to learn about the book and the people that also
- 2:27enjoy reading and learning about the Arantia book, the 5th
- 2:30Epochal Revelation, it's good to go with like the Arantia
- 2:34Association, the Fellowship. These are all groups that that
- 2:39represent the the creme de la creme of people who've been
- 2:43studying the book and writing about it, new articles coming
- 2:46out every week. And it really gives you a good
- 2:48grasp of what we have in our hands and why it's so important.
- 2:52And one of the things that we learned from Paper 48 is that
- 2:56they teach this thing called mota.
- 2:59And what is mota MOTA? Mota Mota is a way for them to
- 3:06take knowledge and present it in a stereoscopic presentation
- 3:11where. So for example, I'm going to
- 3:14read a couple of mota. They have 28 mota lessons that
- 3:19they include in paper 48. I think it is.
- 3:22And basically they're lessons to help you understand sort of a
- 3:26spiritual philosophy that that makes your mind sort of
- 3:31contemplate higher meanings and values and that's part of the
- 3:36growth process. I I equate it maybe sometimes
- 3:40like thinking about calculus. You know you kind of have to
- 3:43learn you know the basics before you can get to algebra and then
- 3:48on to calculus, right? And it's the same with Moda and
- 3:52philosophy and and you know as the personality is growing
- 3:57toward its spiritual potential the way to get there is through
- 4:01our thinking and our thoughts and learning philosophy and and
- 4:06extrapolating meetings from just common day events.
- 4:09Everything in your life has meaning or it can have meeting
- 4:12you know the old phrase you know to he who has God in his heart.
- 4:16All things are spiritual. So if you're walking around and
- 4:19I heard a great, great quote the other day that sort of ties into
- 4:23this is, this is what I would consider to be human mota.
- 4:26But it was something that somebody posted and it's I know
- 4:31I'm going to completely slaughter it.
- 4:32But it said something like as a Christian, I'm not a Christian
- 4:38because I'm trying to get into heaven and become a citizen of
- 4:42heaven. I'm a Christian.
- 4:44As a Christian, I become a citizen of heaven, just trying
- 4:47to get my way through work through earth.
- 4:50So that's kind of it. See, I told you I butchered it.
- 4:53But anyway, it's a great statement.
- 4:56I'm not a I'm not a I'm not believing in God because I want
- 5:01to go to heaven. Once I start believing in God, I
- 5:06am a part of heaven, but I still have to go through the rigmarole
- 5:10of living as a mortal ascended being for the time being, right?
- 5:13We all do so anyway, so that I just kind of like that twist,
- 5:18you know, you're looking at the same thing but from two
- 5:21different perspectives, and Moda seems to me, and I'll read a
- 5:24little bit about it, it seems to be an expansion of philosophy
- 5:29again, a stereoscopic presentation of the meanings and
- 5:32values in our day-to-day life. And it's in concentrating on
- 5:37those that would become more spiritually aware of what's
- 5:40going on, The meanings in our lives, things that might seem
- 5:44otherwise random are connected, so they write in Paper 48.
- 5:49Moda is more than a superior philosophy, it is to philosophy
- 5:53as two eyes are to one. It has a stereoscopic effect on
- 5:58meanings and values. Material Man sees the universe
- 6:01as it were, with but one eye flat.
- 6:04Mansion World students achieve cosmic perspective depth by
- 6:09superimposing the perceptions of the Marantia life upon the
- 6:12perceptions of the physical life.
- 6:16And they are enabled to bring these material and marantial
- 6:19viewpoints in true into true focus, largely through the
- 6:23untiring ministry of their seraphic counselors who so
- 6:28patiently teach the Mansion World students and the Marantia
- 6:32Progressors. Many of the teaching counselors
- 6:35of the Supreme Order of Seraphim, they begin their
- 6:39careers as advisors of the newly liberated souls of the mortals
- 6:43of time. So that's one.
- 6:47Let's go to Marancha Marancha Mota and see if we can find
- 6:53There we go, Paper 48, Section 7, Marancha Mota.
- 6:58The lower planes of Marancha Mota join directly with the
- 7:01higher levels of human philosophy on the mansion
- 7:05worlds. It is the practice to teach the
- 7:08less advanced students by the parallel technique.
- 7:12That is, in one column are presented more simple concepts
- 7:16of Moda meanings, and in the opposite column citation is made
- 7:21of analogous statements of mortal mortal philosophy.
- 7:25Now, the author of this particular paper writes not long
- 7:29since while executing an assignment on the first mansion
- 7:31world of Satania, I had occasion to observe this method of method
- 7:36of teaching, and though I may not undertake to present the
- 7:40Moda content of the lesson, so that would have been what was in
- 7:44the first column, he says. I am permitted to record the 28
- 7:48statements of human philosophy which this Maracha instructor
- 7:52was utilizing as illustrative material designed to assist
- 7:57these new mansion world sojourners in their early
- 7:59efforts to grasp the significance and meanings of
- 8:03Moda. These illustrations of human
- 8:08philosophy were #1, and these are statements that are geared
- 8:13to get you to think, and it's a shame that we don't have the
- 8:16parallel, the whatever the Moda aspect of these statements are.
- 8:20But these statements are still pretty neat, and they're still
- 8:26very thought provoking. So I'll roll through them and
- 8:30give you a couple seconds to kind of think about it.
- 8:32But it's just good food for thought, and it's intended to
- 8:36kind of get your mind going again, thinking about taking
- 8:40them, extracting the meanings and values of everyday living is
- 8:44intended to promote higher thinking.
- 8:49So the first lesson, a display of specialized skill, does not
- 8:53signify possession of spiritual capacity.
- 8:56Cleverness is not a substitute for true character.
- 9:00Now, I I, I thought about that quite a bit.
- 9:04You know, you see a lot of people that are very, very
- 9:06smart, very gifted. And sometimes when we see
- 9:09somebody who's smart, gifted, you know, say for example of
- 9:13Bill Gates or somebody like that, and you assume that
- 9:16because they're so smart and gifted, maybe they're they're
- 9:18quite spiritual or advanced. But oftentimes I find that's not
- 9:22the case. In fact, most of the time I find
- 9:25that people that are overly specialized and extremely gifted
- 9:29seem to lack spiritual flavor. They seem to be so full of
- 9:33themselves and their greatness that you know that that they
- 9:37think of religion or faith as something that that they, you
- 9:42know, outlived or overcome. Have you noticed that, number
- 9:47two, few persons live up to the faith, which they really have?
- 9:52And so that's an interesting statement because that sort of
- 9:55says when I'm saying most of the time people who are most
- 9:58spiritual are also the most humble.
- 10:02But this the second lesson, few persons live up to the faith
- 10:07with what they really have. It also concludes with this
- 10:10unreasoned fear. Unreasoned fear is a master
- 10:15intellectual fraud practiced upon the evolving mortal soul.
- 10:20Now it took me a little while to kind of grasp that, but
- 10:22basically what it's saying is that unreasoned fear.
- 10:26So what would you be fearing? Fearing what what faith might do
- 10:31with you? Unreasoned fear, meaning you
- 10:33might be wrong. Something that talks you out of
- 10:37your faith, something that makes you question your faith, is that
- 10:40would that be considered unreasoned fear?
- 10:43And then of course the master and textual intellectual fraud
- 10:47aspect is is that our our own minds can sometimes trip us up
- 10:52because of unreasoned fear. And maybe maybe that's why
- 10:56people of faith don't live up to it, because they're they're
- 10:59afraid they might be wrong, or they're they're afraid that
- 11:02they're too frail or they're not going to get it, or something
- 11:06like that #3 inherent capacities cannot be exceeded.
- 11:12A pint can never hold a quart. Or is.
- 11:15I think it was. Clint Eastwood said a man's got
- 11:19to know his limitations. It goes on to say this The
- 11:23spirit concept cannot be mechanically forced into the
- 11:26material memory mold. Sometimes you have to accept
- 11:30that people are just the way they are.
- 11:33Growth is slow. Mortals.
- 11:35Few mortals ever dare to draw anything like the sum of
- 11:39personality credits established by the Combined Ministries of
- 11:43Nature and Grace. The majority of impoverished
- 11:46souls are truly rich, but they refuse to believe it. #5
- 11:52difficulties may challenge mediocrity and defeat the
- 11:56fearful, but they only stimulate the true children of the most
- 12:00highs. Number six, to enjoy privilege
- 12:04without abuse, to have liberty without license, to possess
- 12:08power, and steadfastly refuse to use it for self aggrandizement.
- 12:13These are the marks of high Civilization #7.
- 12:18Blind and unformed. Unforeseen accidents do not
- 12:22occur in the cosmos. Neither do the celestial beings
- 12:26assist the lower beings who refuse or who refuses to act
- 12:31upon his light of truth. That's interesting.
- 12:34It almost sounds like two different things that they're
- 12:36saying. How are they harmonized?
- 12:38I'll read it again #7. Blind and unforeseen accidents
- 12:42do not occur in the cosmos. So under what circumstance would
- 12:48a blind and unforeseen accident say would that be like a car
- 12:52accident? So would a car accident happens?
- 12:56Do we see it as something that wasn't intended to happen or
- 13:01that? Or if we have some hardship in
- 13:03our life, do we assume that it was blind and unforeseen and
- 13:07there's no value in it? Or do those events challenge us
- 13:13and actually stimulate our willingness to act and rise
- 13:17above it? And in doing so, that's when the
- 13:20celestial beings can assist us, because if we're not acting upon
- 13:24the light of truth, then then they can't help us.
- 13:29That's what this is saying #8 effort does not always produce
- 13:34joy, but there is no happiness without intelligent effort.
- 13:40It seems pretty simple enough. You see people that aren't happy
- 13:44or that they're unfulfilled in their life.
- 13:46Well, what are they doing in their mind to change their their
- 13:50viewpoint? Or are they just sitting around
- 13:53feeling sorry for themselves, or feeling victimized, or a victim?
- 13:57And maybe that's where the unhappiness comes in is because
- 14:01you know, they may have periodic moments of joy, but true
- 14:04happiness isn't is not achieved without intelligent effort. #9
- 14:10Action achieves strength. Moderation eventuates in charm.
- 14:16Righteousness strikes the harmony.
- 14:18Chords of truth and the melody vibrates throughout the cosmos,
- 14:21even to the recognition of the infinite #11.
- 14:26The weak indulge in resolutions but the strong act.
- 14:29Life is but a day's work. Do it well.
- 14:32The ACT is ours. The consequences.
- 14:33Gods, that's such a great philosophy to never get too far
- 14:38ahead. I tell people all the time,
- 14:40don't project, just take one day at a time. #12 The greatest
- 14:44affliction of the cosmos is never to have been afflicted.
- 14:49Mortals can only learn wisdom by experiencing tribulation. 13
- 14:54Stars are best discerned from the lonely isolation of
- 14:58experiential depths, not from the illuminated and ecstatic
- 15:02mountain tops. #14 Whet the appetites of your associates for
- 15:09truth. Give advice only when it is
- 15:11asked for. #15 affectation is the ridiculous effort of the
- 15:17ignorant to appear wise, the attempt of the barren soul to
- 15:22appear rich. #16 you cannot perceive spiritual truth until
- 15:28you feelingly experience it, and many truths are not really felt
- 15:33except in adversity. I'm starting to see a thread
- 15:36here that it would it would be a lot, far less stressful if we
- 15:40would just assume that almost everything in our life that has
- 15:43any meaning or value is going to be a struggle.
- 15:46What is that expression? You.
- 15:48You cannot grow without resistance.
- 15:49You have to have something, especially like in physical
- 15:52exercise. Resistance is what builds mass
- 15:56or muscle. It must be true on a spiritual
- 16:00side as well. 17 Ambition is dangerous until it is fully
- 16:06socialized. You must have not truly acquired
- 16:09any virtue until your axe make you worthy of it. #18 impatience
- 16:16is a spirit poison. Anger is like a stone hurled
- 16:20into a hornet's nest. That's one of my favorites, #19
- 16:24Anxiety must be abandoned. The disappointments hardest to
- 16:28bear are those which never come. That's such a true statement,
- 16:34isn't it? So many people, they worry about
- 16:37things that never happen. #20 Only a poet can discern poetry
- 16:43in the commonplace prose of routine existence. #21 The high
- 16:50mission of any art, by its illusions, to foreshadow a
- 16:54higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time
- 16:59into the thought of eternity. #22 The evolving soul is not
- 17:05made divine by what it does, but by by what it strives to do. #23
- 17:12Death added nothing to the intellectual possession or to
- 17:15the spiritual endowment, but it did add to the experiential
- 17:19status, the consciousness of survival. #24 The destiny of
- 17:27eternity is determined moment by moment, by the achievements of
- 17:31the day, by day. Living the acts of today are the
- 17:34destiny of tomorrow. 25 Greatness lies not so much in
- 17:40possessing strength as in making a wise and divine use of such
- 17:45strength. 26 Knowledge is possessed only by sharing.
- 17:52It is safeguarded by wisdom and socialized by love. #27 Progress
- 17:59demands development of individuality, mediocrity seeks
- 18:04perpetuation. In standardization #8 the
- 18:10argumentative defense of any proposition is inversely
- 18:15proportional to the truth contained.
- 18:18And then he concludes by saying such is the work of the
- 18:20beginners on the first mansion worlds, while the more advanced
- 18:24pupils on the latter worlds or later worlds are mastering the
- 18:28higher levels of Cosmic insight. And Maranchimoda sounds like a
- 18:33real good university that I'm looking forward to attending.
- 18:37How about you? Well, listen, that's it.
- 18:40We're going to wrap it up. I wanted to kind of keep it
- 18:42simple and direct. It's the holidays.
- 18:44We're all doing what we're doing, trying to make ends meet.
- 18:51Make our the people who depend on us and love us happy and
- 18:54secure and navigating through the maze of modern life.
- 18:59So next week exciting we'll be talking about the Urancha book
- 19:03made film. And again, if you've got a
- 19:06question or a comment, Urancha book radio@gmail.com.
- 19:10Until next time, thank you for stopping by.
- 19:13Be of good cheer.
