THE GREEK WORD:

Repent (Greek: metanoeo) is a compound word:

Meta = a change (as in metamorphosis)

Noia = a manner of thinking (as in paranoia)

Together: A radical change in the way we think and live.

It's not just a simple change of mind. It's completely reorienting how you think about life.

JESUS' TEACHING:

When Jesus says repent, He often doesn't add "of your sins." He says "repent and believe" or "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
