Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Alright, alright, come n throw you alive from Philly. It's
- 0:09Speaker 1: the Folly and Tony Foolsco. Show. As always, Folly Foolsco.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Here with Tony Foolsco and Tony we continue to make headlines,
- 0:20Speaker 1: this time from an episode that was a couple of
- 0:22Speaker 1: weeks back, you know, unlike our last episode with Doug Gottlieb,
- 0:26Speaker 1: who made no headlines except for the fact that he
- 0:29Speaker 1: was a shitty guest. But anyway, a couple of weeks
- 0:31Speaker 1: ago we came out. We had the balls to say
- 0:34Speaker 1: the biggest problem in sports media is long form journalism.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We called it wrong form. Yep, we sure did. And
- 0:44Speaker 1: well you know where it gets out, as it always
- 0:46Speaker 1: does on this show. You know, big audience out there.
- 0:49Speaker 1: One of the founding fathers of wrong Form heard what
- 0:52Speaker 1: we said and wanted to come on. Uh he's this guy.
- 0:56Speaker 1: He started a website called The Undefeated. You know, we
- 1:00Speaker 1: probably should have been called the Defeated. Yeah. It was
- 1:03Speaker 1: basically the journalistic equivalent of the Hendenburg. Yep. And you
- 1:08Speaker 1: know this is gonna be a little inside baseball for
- 1:11Speaker 1: your people. But in the media business, they have what's
- 1:14Speaker 1: called a cur rating. A cur rating is your measure
- 1:19Speaker 1: of likability. So as you can imagine, you know, no
- 1:22Speaker 1: need to tell you are cur rating is off the charts,
- 1:26Speaker 1: right up there with the you know that Dalai Lama
- 1:28Speaker 1: guy Jason Whitlock. However, he has the lowest recorded curating
- 1:34Speaker 1: in the history of the cur rating. In fact, we
- 1:37Speaker 1: read it's lower than for Del Cascrow, Kim Jong Un
- 1:41Speaker 1: and Katherine Heigel. He's way worse than her totally, and
- 1:45Speaker 1: you know, we're gonna ask him about that, find out
- 1:47Speaker 1: why it's so low. We're also going to ask him
- 1:49Speaker 1: about the big nose he made recently getting fired from
- 1:53Speaker 1: OutKick and you know, our sources, we got the real
- 1:56Speaker 1: story about what went down then, and let's just say
- 1:59Speaker 1: we heard Whitlaw got into it with Clay Travis then
- 2:02Speaker 1: wound up sitting on his face. So you know, yep,
- 2:05Speaker 1: we're going to dive into that, find out what really
- 2:07Speaker 1: happened there. But first things first, their people. We got
- 2:10Speaker 1: to get to all the things we just knocked out
- 2:13Speaker 1: of the park because we've been been called we've been
- 2:15Speaker 1: batting a hundred as usual. Yep. Here it is the
- 2:18Speaker 1: segment where we tell you everything we got right where
- 2:22Speaker 1: Polly and Tony were right where Paully and Tony were right.
- 2:28Speaker 1: All right, the torney is here and Gonzaga comes out
- 2:32Speaker 1: as the clear favorite. And you know, Tony, that's no
- 2:34Speaker 1: surprise to us because you know, even though we're not
- 2:37Speaker 1: fans of Gonzaga, we understand why they're playing so well
- 2:40Speaker 1: because we say it every year, the school that plays
- 2:43Speaker 1: the best in the tourney is usually the school where
- 2:46Speaker 1: they have the least amount of sex, the less sex,
- 2:49Speaker 1: less distractions, more time to get better at basketball. So
- 2:53Speaker 1: you look at it, Gonzaga, Catholic University, no sex, They're right,
- 2:58Speaker 1: you know, we saw this with villain of a two
- 3:00Speaker 1: good Catholic school, very limited sex. And then you go
- 3:05Speaker 1: to championships boom right there. Yeah, and look at Duke
- 3:09Speaker 1: Campus full of nerds, nerds don't know how to have sex,
- 3:13Speaker 1: boom twenty championships, yep. And you know you look at
- 3:17Speaker 1: the last team to win the whole thing there, it
- 3:20Speaker 1: was Virginia. Well, people, it's right there in the name
- 3:24Speaker 1: virgin Yeah, makes total sense. And you know you don't
- 3:29Speaker 1: stop there. You look at the NBA bubble. What happened
- 3:32Speaker 1: in there? You know, the players they couldn't have any
- 3:35Speaker 1: sex and people said it was the best highest quality
- 3:38Speaker 1: basketball anybody has ever seen. Yeah, when they show you
- 3:43Speaker 1: scoring stats, they should also tell you how much the
- 3:46Speaker 1: player is not scoring, because that has as much impact
- 3:51Speaker 1: on the game as field goal percentage. You know, it's
- 3:55Speaker 1: surprising that the Elias Sports Bureau doesn't track that huge
- 3:58Speaker 1: miss by them. Where Paul and were right, another place
- 4:03Speaker 1: we were bango right. LaMelo Ball continues his tear in
- 4:07Speaker 1: the NBA. He's averaging sixteen six and six on fort
- 4:12Speaker 1: shooting from the field. And you know, we're not just
- 4:14Speaker 1: impressed by LaMelo shooting percentage, were also impressed by his
- 4:19Speaker 1: dad's shooting percentage. Talking about Lava Ball and his sperm,
- 4:23Speaker 1: isn't that right, Tony? Yeah, when you look at the
- 4:26Speaker 1: greatness of an NBA icon, you can't just look at
- 4:29Speaker 1: what he did on the court. You have to consider
- 4:33Speaker 1: what he also did in the bedroom. Based on that,
- 4:38Speaker 1: you might think, oh, well, Chamberlain is the go, but
- 4:41Speaker 1: you'd be wrong. It's Lava Ball. You know. Great point, Tonty,
- 4:46Speaker 1: because when you think about it, you know, book Chamberlain
- 4:48Speaker 1: slept with you know, ten thousand women. There's only one
- 4:50Speaker 1: person who has ever slept with that many. It was
- 4:53Speaker 1: that Mongolian ruler guy what was his name, Shaka Khan. Yeah.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Will Chamberlain had sect with all those women. Didn't father
- 5:00Speaker 1: a one NBA player, But Lava Ball has three NBA
- 5:05Speaker 1: stars under his belt. He's producing more NBA talent than
- 5:09Speaker 1: it Kentucky Wildcats. It's amazing. And he didn't have to
- 5:12Speaker 1: bribe them either to get them to play. Where Paul
- 5:16Speaker 1: and were right. Finally, you know, people have been saying
- 5:20Speaker 1: that ESPN is nowhere as good as it used to be,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and we've been saying, no, you're raw. Well we just
- 5:28Speaker 1: got proof that we're right. We just read that ESPN
- 5:33Speaker 1: is planning to air a thirty minute documentary about the
- 5:37Speaker 1: Masters tournament that took place in November. And I tell
- 5:41Speaker 1: you people, it's right on time. I can't wait to watch.
- 5:46Speaker 1: As I was watching the Masters back in November, I
- 5:49Speaker 1: thought to myself, this would be so much better as
- 5:53Speaker 1: a thirty minute documentary released about five months from now. Yep.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And you know, I gotta say, this is such a
- 5:59Speaker 1: great idea. I hope they do a documentary about the
- 6:03Speaker 1: Bucks Chief Super Bowl, because you know, it's been so long,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I can't remember who wonder what happened. ESPN has its
- 6:11Speaker 1: eyes on the pulse of what the average sports fan
- 6:14Speaker 1: needs for this type of high quality programming. I'm more
- 6:19Speaker 1: than happy to pay the eight hundred dollar carriage fee,
- 6:22Speaker 1: no problem. Absolutely, it's a steal when you think about
- 6:26Speaker 1: it like that. And on the subject of ESPN, Uh,
- 6:29Speaker 1: we got someone coming on the line here who is
- 6:31Speaker 1: no longer welcoming the building there. Uh, our guests for
- 6:34Speaker 1: today see him coming on, So let's bring him on
- 6:37Speaker 1: the Fusco Satellite Network satellit Alright, Look, you know, we
- 6:43Speaker 1: gotta hand it to this guy. He's definitely established himself
- 6:46Speaker 1: as one of the biggest names in sports media. Still
- 6:50Speaker 1: not close to us, but you know, in the ballpark anyway.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You know him from Speak for Yourself over on FS.
- 6:55Speaker 1: One guest toasted bt I for a while, started The Undefeated.
- 6:59Speaker 1: He's an award winning journalists too. Most recently though, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 1: he was at out Kick, which isn't just the name
- 7:05Speaker 1: of the company, but you know what they did to
- 7:07Speaker 1: him anyway. Jason Whitlock, Welcome to the show. Uh. Great
- 7:12Speaker 1: to be here with the Fusco brothers. Pauli, Tony, thanks
- 7:17Speaker 1: for having me. I appreciate it. Yeah. Well, you know,
- 7:19Speaker 1: on the subject of OutKick, you know we heard you
- 7:21Speaker 1: went out on some bad terms there. All sources say
- 7:25Speaker 1: you got into a fight with Clay Travis, wound up
- 7:28Speaker 1: body slamming him through a pool table, and then you
- 7:30Speaker 1: sat on his face. Is that true? Sitting on his
- 7:33Speaker 1: face is true? But that was an accident. That was
- 7:36Speaker 1: you know, that was some it was. It was sometimes
- 7:40Speaker 1: their reverberations when I have flatulence and it knocked me
- 7:43Speaker 1: off balance and I fell on his face after parting uncontrollably.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So well, you know, it's tough to tell what's coming
- 7:51Speaker 1: out your ass and what's coming out your mouth, so
- 7:53Speaker 1: you know, I can see how that would be trouble
- 7:55Speaker 1: for you. You know, we heard that the reason the
- 7:59Speaker 1: real reason you got fired was because your articles were
- 8:03Speaker 1: so rambling and long that it wasn't getting any clicks.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So the site was called out Kick, but your articles
- 8:11Speaker 1: were called no click. Is that true? That? There is
- 8:17Speaker 1: some truth to that, but it's it's not accurate. Several
- 8:23Speaker 1: of my articles were read by my mom, my brother,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and sisters and my nieces and nephews, so I did
- 8:31Speaker 1: get some clicks. But you know the reality is that
- 8:36Speaker 1: I you know, I know you guys, billy guys, you
- 8:38Speaker 1: should you can recognize the scam artist. And I recognized
- 8:42Speaker 1: the scam artist. The the you know, the Sam Savage
- 8:46Speaker 1: guy was trying to execute a scam and he did
- 8:49Speaker 1: on Clay, but I wasn't standing there for it. So
- 8:52Speaker 1: so this Sam Savage guy, he was he was funding
- 8:54Speaker 1: the network though, right, that's what was going on. Uh.
- 8:58Speaker 1: He was supposed to invest by hundred thousand for a
- 9:01Speaker 1: ten percent steak in the company, and he got piste
- 9:05Speaker 1: off when I joined the company and said me and
- 9:09Speaker 1: the deal that I cut was a kick in the nuts.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He said me, a kick in the nuts? Did you
- 9:15Speaker 1: kick him in the nuts? Is that why he said
- 9:17Speaker 1: that happen? It did not happen. I did not kick
- 9:20Speaker 1: him in the nuts. I actually showed up and did
- 9:22Speaker 1: good work there and you know, added my credibility to
- 9:26Speaker 1: the site or whatever. But anyway, he so he refused
- 9:29Speaker 1: to put in the five hundred thousand. Clay was good
- 9:31Speaker 1: with it. I was not. Uh. And then there's just
- 9:35Speaker 1: the Sam Savage just had too much control. Let me
- 9:38Speaker 1: ask you, if you did see this Sam Savage coming
- 9:40Speaker 1: down the street, would you kick him in the nuts
- 9:42Speaker 1: if you saw him at this point, probably Yeah, there's
- 9:48Speaker 1: a headline. I like it. Now play Travis. Are you
- 9:50Speaker 1: on equally shitty terms with him? What's going on there?
- 9:55Speaker 1: I would I would say I'm on no terms with
- 9:57Speaker 1: Clay Travelers. How would I would call it no terms?
- 10:02Speaker 1: We'll call it me not surprised, you know. It's it's funny.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I've talked about this and have done interviews about it,
- 10:08Speaker 1: but I never we had a meeting at Clay's house
- 10:12Speaker 1: where Clay's wife agreed with me and my narrative. It's
- 10:18Speaker 1: it's the whole thing has been crazy, all right. Let
- 10:21Speaker 1: me ask you this just before we move on here.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You know we're businessman. If we set up a pay
- 10:25Speaker 1: per view, you in the ring versus Clay Travis, Uh,
- 10:28Speaker 1: you take it new Winds. I'm too old and too
- 10:34Speaker 1: fat to do any fighting anymore, uh these days? So uh,
- 10:40Speaker 1: you know, I'm not sure if I but if I
- 10:42Speaker 1: had to get in the scrap with Clay Travis, just
- 10:45Speaker 1: remember one guy wears a T shirt that says D
- 10:49Speaker 1: D B A P Don't be a Pussy on the
- 10:52Speaker 1: front of it. Generally speaking, when people put signs or
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm not a pussy. It generally means I am mad pussy.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I don't have to tell people. I don't have to
- 11:03Speaker 1: wear signs on the front of me that I'm not
- 11:04Speaker 1: a pussy. My reputation, my work speaks for it. So
- 11:08Speaker 1: so you know, if you were setting odds on a fight,
- 11:12Speaker 1: one guy's a pussy, one guy's and not place your
- 11:14Speaker 1: bets according Yeah, they're cursing on this show or did
- 11:17Speaker 1: I just don't worry about that. I think the sense
- 11:21Speaker 1: is just had a hot attack after that one. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 1: you know, anyway, we don't use the p word, but
- 11:25Speaker 1: that's okay for today. We'll make a special exception for you.
- 11:29Speaker 1: In fact, will refer to you as Miss the Pussy
- 11:32Speaker 1: from now on. Did you watch the Sopranos out never where?
- 11:38Speaker 1: You know? Now, come on the way you go, No, no,
- 11:41Speaker 1: this isn't This isn't you know a MC network the
- 11:45Speaker 1: sports show anyway, Look, you know you are one of
- 11:48Speaker 1: the reasons you wanted to talk to us here. You know,
- 11:50Speaker 1: we made headlines on a previous show we said long
- 11:54Speaker 1: form should be called wrong form, and you are one
- 11:58Speaker 1: of the founding fathers of row for them, right, you
- 12:00Speaker 1: started that website undefeated that went down as fast as
- 12:04Speaker 1: it came up. What was it? When was it that
- 12:07Speaker 1: you learned? You know that people don't wait, what a
- 12:09Speaker 1: waste time with your long rambling, you know, shitty articles.
- 12:12Speaker 1: When was that for you? Uh? It was probably uh,
- 12:18Speaker 1: when when Twitter first started and everybody fell in love
- 12:22Speaker 1: with a hundred forty characters. That's as much as people
- 12:25Speaker 1: want to read in today's society. And so when did
- 12:28Speaker 1: Twitter start two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight,
- 12:31Speaker 1: whenever Shot jumped on board or whatever. So it's probably
- 12:35Speaker 1: around then when I was like, man, I need to
- 12:37Speaker 1: trim up my articles, get them down to about a
- 12:40Speaker 1: hundred forty characters. That's about all people can handle. So
- 12:44Speaker 1: you're blaming Twitter for your own personal failings? Is that
- 12:47Speaker 1: what it is? Of course? Hey, you guys need to
- 12:50Speaker 1: be careful. You know, I'm black. I can play the
- 12:52Speaker 1: victim card if I want to, And I'm a victim
- 12:56Speaker 1: of Twitter, victim of Twitter, and you don't need to
- 13:00Speaker 1: respect that respect my victim. All right, that's enough. Can
- 13:04Speaker 1: you really make money writing newspaper articles? You know? Aren't
- 13:08Speaker 1: you aware that it's and not? Yeah? Well, uh, it's
- 13:15Speaker 1: more difficult back in my day, in my heyday, in
- 13:20Speaker 1: the nineties and early two thousands, you can make a
- 13:23Speaker 1: damn good living, you know, writing articles and being a
- 13:27Speaker 1: general sports columnist at a newspaper. You know, now the
- 13:31Speaker 1: Internet has made it more difficult, but yeah, written content
- 13:34Speaker 1: still works well, you know, all right maybe for you
- 13:37Speaker 1: and you know your mother who reads your articles. You know, uh, look,
- 13:41Speaker 1: let me ask you this question, and and and seriously,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I want to know. You know, we're considered the Babe
- 13:47Speaker 1: Ruth of sports Stock, right, you know, we always swing big,
- 13:50Speaker 1: and we always hit home runs. You you more the
- 13:54Speaker 1: Adam Done of sports Stock. Wouldn't you say? You know,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you swing big, sometimes you hit home runs, and sometimes
- 13:59Speaker 1: you wi so hard and it's like a hurricane of wind.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Would you agree with that comparison, Adam Done? Now I
- 14:06Speaker 1: think of myself more as Ricky Henderson, the ultimate weapon,
- 14:11Speaker 1: the leadoff hitter. He can hit for power, but when
- 14:15Speaker 1: he gets on base, you know he's a danger. There
- 14:18Speaker 1: is a chance still second answer, yeah, And then someone
- 14:21Speaker 1: who outstayed is welcome and then became a shell of himself.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Good compared here, this is one of the greatest baseball
- 14:26Speaker 1: players of all time. The most dangerous weapon I believe
- 14:30Speaker 1: in baseball history in terms of the leadoff hitter. Yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 1: and if i overstayed my welcome, that's because I've earned it,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and Ricky Henderson earned it and he was he was
- 14:40Speaker 1: not a deed. He was just misunderstood. I understand that
- 14:44Speaker 1: that comparison. You know, he played for multiple teams twice,
- 14:48Speaker 1: kind of like ESPN Fox. It makes sense back and forth,
- 14:52Speaker 1: he did the same thing. But hold on, you said
- 14:54Speaker 1: something very interesting now you say your misunderstood. Why do
- 14:57Speaker 1: you feel like you misunderstood? Is that because you you're
- 15:00Speaker 1: a poor communicator? What goes on all? I think it
- 15:04Speaker 1: more has to do with the era that we live in.
- 15:07Speaker 1: People try to create create a lot of confusion around
- 15:10Speaker 1: me because what I say is dangerous. You know, the
- 15:15Speaker 1: truth has been made very dangerous in and so I think,
- 15:22Speaker 1: you know, there are people out there they want people
- 15:26Speaker 1: to have the wrong impression of me. I'm just a
- 15:29Speaker 1: big cuddle, you know, cuddly, teddy bear of a person,
- 15:32Speaker 1: and people try to make me out to be an asshole.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Why do you think they do that? What is what
- 15:37Speaker 1: goes on with you? You know, you know, we're beloved
- 15:39Speaker 1: in the sports talk business. Everybody you know a curating.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Our curating is off the charts. We looked up your
- 15:45Speaker 1: curating and you know we were just blowing away. You'll
- 15:48Speaker 1: have the lowest CUE rating. It's you for Del Castro,
- 15:52Speaker 1: Kim Jong Hoon, and Katherine Heigel. Why do you think
- 15:55Speaker 1: that is? Because I misunderstood, because you've mischaracterized my work.
- 16:02Speaker 1: When I speak the truth, you call it a lie?
- 16:05Speaker 1: Are you call it inappropriate? You know? This is this?
- 16:08Speaker 1: This is where I'm going with you. Let me point
- 16:11Speaker 1: out I think you're a bit of a hypocrite, and
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'll tell your why. You hosted that show on the
- 16:15Speaker 1: FS one called speak for yourself, right, but whenever anybody
- 16:19Speaker 1: had an opinion, you said, that's wrong. Shut up. So
- 16:23Speaker 1: shouldn't you have called that show speak for myself? Wouldn't
- 16:26Speaker 1: that have been better? No? Uh again, That's what I'm
- 16:29Speaker 1: talking when people mischaracterized my work and why I misunderstood.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I let everybody talk. I let everybody have their say.
- 16:37Speaker 1: People who are always amazed, like you don't talk more?
- 16:40Speaker 1: How come you're more not more dominari? I like other
- 16:43Speaker 1: people to talk. I like to let other people express
- 16:46Speaker 1: their opinion. Eventually, I'm gonna come in and set the
- 16:49Speaker 1: record straight. But I don't mind hearing from other people.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It's just why else would I be here talking to
- 16:54Speaker 1: Paulie and Tony if I didn't want to hear from
- 16:57Speaker 1: other people, if I didn't respect the thing. We like
- 17:00Speaker 1: to give professional advice in this business, you know, and
- 17:03Speaker 1: it seems like you could use a little career direction
- 17:07Speaker 1: right now. You know, you've made a lot of enemies, right,
- 17:09Speaker 1: let's face it. We think a good thing for you
- 17:12Speaker 1: to do, you know, get that cue rating up, is
- 17:14Speaker 1: to apologize right now. So we're gonna give you this platform,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you know, our big audience, everybody listening, and let you
- 17:21Speaker 1: apologize to all the people you've wronged. Here we go,
- 17:25Speaker 1: Clay Travis, just go ahead, you know, say you're sorry
- 17:28Speaker 1: for how that went down there. Yes, say I am
- 17:31Speaker 1: sorry for what I did to you, Clay Travis. I
- 17:33Speaker 1: apologize for farting on you. Go, Clay Travis, I apologize
- 17:37Speaker 1: for parting on very well. There we go. All right,
- 17:40Speaker 1: that's a good first step. So here second one, lavaw Ball,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I apologize for all the negative things I said about you.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Go say that. Uh, I apologize for absolutely nothing. Oh,
- 17:59Speaker 1: Paul No, no, no, this isn't not good. This is
- 18:04Speaker 1: not this is why, this is why people are misunderstanding.
- 18:08Speaker 1: We'll give you one more chance. We'll give you one
- 18:10Speaker 1: more chance. Third, your former co host that speak for yourself,
- 18:14Speaker 1: Marcellus wildly say, I apologize for talking over you and
- 18:19Speaker 1: never letting you get a word in edgewise. Go uh,
- 18:23Speaker 1: Mark Ellis I apologize uh for being right about cowboys problem? No, no,
- 18:36Speaker 1: this is your problem. You gotta You're gonna have to
- 18:39Speaker 1: issue another apology. Now you're gonna apologize to us for
- 18:42Speaker 1: a shitty and you because guess what this show. You're
- 18:46Speaker 1: off the show in sports to Jake. Jake, Yeah, get
