- 0:00Speaker 1: That you would ask will Stein as far as his program,
- 0:05Speaker 1: as far as expectations, as far as anything you would
- 0:09Speaker 1: want to ask. What would you ask will Stein that
- 0:13Speaker 1: he probably hasn't been asked before or that is relevant
- 0:18Speaker 1: for a first time coach within the Southeastern Conference? Oh? Man,
- 0:27Speaker 1: I would.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, I can't think of anything off the
- 0:31Speaker 2: top of my head that he probably hasn't been asked already.
- 0:33Speaker 2: But I'd be curious, why so much faith and belief
- 0:42Speaker 2: in a guy in Minchi that has never been a
- 0:44Speaker 2: starting quarterback? Like why did you see him in the
- 0:48Speaker 2: portal and decide this is the type of guy that
- 0:51Speaker 2: I need, This is the type of guy that I
- 0:53Speaker 2: can trust and can run this program.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So, in other words, you kind of have question marks
- 0:59Speaker 1: with Minschi? Is that what you're saying?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Not necessarily? I mean, from all the reports, it feels
- 1:03Speaker 2: like everything with him is going pretty well.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Even then, Notre Dame fans have come out and said
- 1:08Speaker 1: how much they're wishing them best of luck, We're sorry
- 1:11Speaker 1: he's left Notre Dame. We think he'll be a great
- 1:14Speaker 1: fit any program that he goes to.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just I'm more concerned about the mindset going
- 1:20Speaker 2: into that recruitment. Why why was that the guy that
- 1:23Speaker 2: you you looked at and decided we need. Okay, because
- 1:28Speaker 2: because there were other starting quarterbacks out there in the
- 1:31Speaker 2: transfer portally, you could have gone and snagged guys that
- 1:34Speaker 2: were proven at this level, whereas Minshi's not, and you're
- 1:37Speaker 2: you're just relying on your prowess as a quarterback coach
- 1:41Speaker 2: to guide him in the right direction and hope that
- 1:44Speaker 2: it's all gonna work out. But would you agree that
- 1:47Speaker 2: will Stein sees quarterbacks in a different way, Yeah than
- 1:51Speaker 2: the normal person. No, Just like a horse trainer, they
- 1:54Speaker 2: see something in a horse they know they like, and
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think that's the same thing with will Stein. He's
- 2:00Speaker 2: something in Minschi that he knows. Okay, here's the potential
- 2:05Speaker 2: Lata raw materially right there. But you know what, I
- 2:08Speaker 2: see the potential, and I think with the right coaching,
- 2:12Speaker 2: he could become what what level of quarterback do you
- 2:16Speaker 2: think Minschi could potentially come? Do you think he can
- 2:19Speaker 2: become an elite quarterback?
- 2:20Speaker 1: No? Why not?
- 2:23Speaker 2: Because he's never done it. I mean, and I know,
- 2:25Speaker 2: of course he's never done I know that sounds like
- 2:27Speaker 2: a stupid reason to think that, But if he was
- 2:30Speaker 2: this elite level type quarterback. Wouldn't have you he been
- 2:33Speaker 2: starting already. That's the way out, That's the way ye see.
- 2:37Speaker 2: That's where I see where you're going. And that's the
- 2:40Speaker 2: part that always scares me in the back of my mind.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's like the whole Brock Vandergriff thing, Like when he
- 2:44Speaker 2: joined Kentucky, everybody was yeah, who were all happy and stuff,
- 2:49Speaker 2: but he had never been a quarterback. Yeah he's a
- 2:52Speaker 2: five star, but he hasn't ever done anything. Well, I'm
- 2:55Speaker 2: gonna the only I hear what you're saying about Brock.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Brock Vandergriff is a different situation because I saw the
- 3:03Speaker 2: potential out there, and you saw a couple of games.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But the reason he didn't turn out to be the
- 3:09Speaker 2: quarterback that he should have been because he didn't have
- 3:12Speaker 2: an O line.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, he was running for his life constantly,
- 3:17Speaker 1: so he could never sit back in the pocket, relax
- 3:20Speaker 1: and throw pass, and those very few times that he did,
- 3:23Speaker 1: they were unbelievable passes. So I just I think the
- 3:28Speaker 1: Brock Vandergriff is just a bit of a I don't know,
- 3:35Speaker 1: a time in period I wish that he had come
- 3:38Speaker 1: like five years earlier, I would have taken here's a
- 3:42Speaker 1: crazy one. I would have taken vandergriff over Will Levis.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I know I'm going to get a lot of heat
- 3:48Speaker 1: for that. Yeah, and you should No, I should not.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I would have liked to see that try out, to
- 3:56Speaker 1: see who would have done better, and maybe Will Levis
- 3:59Speaker 1: would be the one fishing and hunting today, exactly exactly. So,
- 4:04Speaker 1: if I'm a Titan fan, I'm not happy he's on
- 4:08Speaker 1: the team. I wouldn't happy that he was starting on
- 4:10Speaker 1: the team. I mean, I know a lot of Titan
- 4:12Speaker 1: fans were not happy about that. I don't think he's
- 4:14Speaker 1: with the Titans anymore, not anymore. No, he's he's still
- 4:17Speaker 1: yes for a second, So I don't know will he
- 4:20Speaker 1: ever get a chance again with the Titans. Only if
- 4:24Speaker 1: there's an injury, only, yeah, injury, that's the only way.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But there's no way he's going to be out there
- 4:30Speaker 1: in the practice and take over the job again. So
- 4:33Speaker 1: I don't know. It's just kind of kind of how
- 4:34Speaker 1: I felt. Let's go to the Whiskey Thief text line
- 4:37Speaker 1: five oh two four one four fourteen fifty John here, Hey, Michael,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I told Justin this morning that John Hood can do
- 4:45Speaker 1: some pretty good coaching. He drew up the best imbalanced
- 4:50Speaker 1: play that was successfully executed on Saturday. That was the
- 4:54Speaker 1: first one for anything. That was the first one for
- 4:57Speaker 1: anything men's related basketball since the Hubby Smith days. That
- 5:01Speaker 1: might be a great story about Vince Popali. Hold on
- 5:08Speaker 1: is that that might be an exaggeration, but I am
- 5:11Speaker 1: happy for our La familia. And then he says, I
- 5:13Speaker 1: believe the other guy's movie.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Gow.
- 5:17Speaker 1: This thing just flips back and forth. The other guy's
- 5:19Speaker 1: movie song referenced by Michael Keaton was that's it. It
- 5:22Speaker 1: was TLC. It wasn't Salt and Peppa. It was TLC
- 5:26Speaker 1: and a few of their songs, including the song Waterfalls. Also,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I am, by no means an Eagles fan, and you
- 5:34Speaker 1: do not have to be to watch a great story
- 5:37Speaker 1: about Vince Popoli. And Mark Wahlberg did an awesome job
- 5:41Speaker 1: in that film. Say I agree, I am nowhere close
- 5:45Speaker 1: to being an Eagles fan, especially as a Bucks fan.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I don't like the Eagles, but that's a great story.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Just like all right, you know how much I loathe
- 5:55Speaker 1: the Notre Dame, Right, I do love this the movie Rudy,
- 6:01Speaker 1: even though I know majority of it's fictitious.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I'm out on Rudy as well. Oh my gosh, man, Okay,
- 6:11Speaker 2: all right, then I'm not a I give up, believe
- 6:13Speaker 2: it or not. As much as I love sports for
- 6:16Speaker 2: whatever reason, I am not a football movie guy.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Just I can't. I don't know. I think some of
- 6:22Speaker 1: the best movies are football relate. Really.
- 6:25Speaker 2: The only two that I like are water Boy and
- 6:30Speaker 2: Oh What was the Prison One?
- 6:32Speaker 1: Oh What the Rock? Yeah? And Adam Sandler. Yeah. No,
- 6:36Speaker 1: not Adam Sandler. Oh, not that one you're talking about.
- 6:41Speaker 1: All right, don't worry about it. Just think about it
- 6:43Speaker 1: for a second. Take your time, take a deep breath.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It'll come to you. One person said Freedom Hall smells
- 6:48Speaker 1: like German roasted nuts. No it doesn't. It smells like
- 6:51Speaker 1: caramel popcorn. That's what it smells like to me. And
- 6:55Speaker 1: the floors are so sticky. I don't think you could
- 6:57Speaker 1: take any kind of chemical to those floors at Freedom
- 7:01Speaker 1: Hall and make them unsticky. Do you agree. I haven't
- 7:06Speaker 1: been in Freedom Hall, and I can tell you when.
- 7:08Speaker 1: But it is very nostalgic. Should UK should play one
- 7:11Speaker 1: game a year and they're just to stick to the
- 7:14Speaker 1: stick it to the Bill, I'm right there with you.
- 7:17Speaker 1: UK should play a game there. They should go back
- 7:20Speaker 1: revert to back when, back in the seventies and eighties
- 7:23Speaker 1: when they would play at least one game in Louisville
- 7:26Speaker 1: at Freedom Hall. I think it would be awesome. Michael,
- 7:31Speaker 1: go in gate six off the of the fair grounds,
- 7:35Speaker 1: off Preston and then Park so you can get out
- 7:39Speaker 1: gate four to Crittendon. Oh, that's a great idea. I
- 7:42Speaker 1: know exactly what you're talking about. And you'll miss the
- 7:44Speaker 1: majority of the traffic all trying to get out the
- 7:47Speaker 1: main gate. Thank you. You know what else would help, Jamie?
- 7:51Speaker 1: If I had a officer that would just escort me
- 7:54Speaker 1: out of the lights on, okay and not being arrested.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Please don't be arresting me. But you know, if you
- 8:00Speaker 1: could drive out there and just say, hey, there's Michael,
- 8:02Speaker 1: let's drive him out of here, and then I get
- 8:04Speaker 1: a little escort out of there, that'd be great. Yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 1: but it's problem going out Crittenon right now. No, Critenin's
- 8:09Speaker 1: fine cause you can go turn right and it takes
- 8:12Speaker 1: you straight to the waters. But man, if you go
- 8:14Speaker 1: out the other gates you know over there by Central,
- 8:18Speaker 1: is that Eastern Parkway. You're right around there. Sixty five
- 8:21Speaker 1: still shut down, so you can't take sixty five right,
- 8:23Speaker 1: And that's sometimes the other way I'll take to get
- 8:26Speaker 1: back to my house. I'll drive through downtown and go
- 8:29Speaker 1: that route. So we gotta take another break. Five O
- 8:31Speaker 1: two four one four fourteen fifty. I'll get to your
- 8:34Speaker 1: text as soon as we get back, or you can
- 8:36Speaker 1: call me at five O two three four fourteen fifty.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Stay right there. More just the cats coming up on
- 8:41Speaker 1: this Monday morning. Be with me. Come on, let's fight
- 8:45Speaker 1: through the stinking day. We'll get through the week. It'll
- 8:47Speaker 1: be Friday before you know it.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Chicky, look.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Too light?
- 9:21Speaker 3: You No, you're really good? Old school today. Do you
- 9:46Speaker 3: know what E l O stands for?
- 9:48Speaker 1: Electric light?
- 9:49Speaker 3: Only?
- 9:49Speaker 1: Because you looked it up.
- 9:51Speaker 2: It's because I'm smart, Michael be uh huh. Yeah, well
- 9:53Speaker 2: I got a musical knowledge. That's why this world I'm not.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I was. I found an interesting that uh podcast. This
- 10:00Speaker 1: Random Thoughts guy sent you an interesting Texas morning. Yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 1: he's been sending me a fact of the day. I
- 10:05Speaker 1: like this fact right here, because isn't that fact about
- 10:09Speaker 1: World War Two? Adolph Hitler survived in an assassination attempt
- 10:15Speaker 1: by a German Army colonel Klaus von Straffenberg. Isn't that
- 10:21Speaker 1: the whole premise of the movie Valcry with Tom Cruise?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, you've gotta be kidding me. Did you
- 10:30Speaker 1: not watch Valcry?
- 10:32Speaker 2: I definitely do not watch war movies. I haven't even
- 10:35Speaker 2: seen savor of Private. Tom Cruise was in that movie.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Awesome movie. I'm just why are we off to movies today?
- 10:43Speaker 2: I don't get this, but it's just kind of how
- 10:45Speaker 2: my mind has gone today. I don't know Valcry was awesome, Okay,
- 10:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Isn't it Valkyrie? Is that what it's called? Okay, it's
- 10:53Speaker 1: called it Vaalcry Valkyrie. It doesn't matter. I bet people
- 10:57Speaker 1: who have watched the movie know exactly what I'm talking
- 11:00Speaker 1: all right, tell me if it's Valkyrie. I think it's
- 11:03Speaker 1: Valkyrie Valkyrie? Okay, all right? Almost positive? Almost what? Almost positive? Okay?
- 11:10Speaker 1: All right? But I kind of like Valcry. Yeah I
- 11:12Speaker 1: thought it was Valcry. But what difference is it to me?
- 11:15Speaker 1: I bet they know what I'm talking about. Uh So,
- 11:18Speaker 1: I just awesome movie right there. One person said, but
- 11:22Speaker 1: Joe Burrow, what are we talking about? He said, but
- 11:27Speaker 1: Joe Burrow, I don't get it. I don't either. But anyway,
- 11:31Speaker 1: text or explain yourself and I'll be happy to. Uh.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'd love to know what you're talking about. Right there.
- 11:37Speaker 1: The whole starts your transformation. Things getting on my nerves. Okay,
- 11:41Speaker 1: I just want you to know you don't even have
- 11:42Speaker 1: to deal with it. It's getting on my nerves. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: want I want this fixed. I don't want responses, and
- 11:48Speaker 1: I got to read the stupid responses because our station
- 11:52Speaker 1: is using this thing, which not even a part of
- 11:55Speaker 1: my show. Anyway, John, here again, I leave the other
- 12:01Speaker 1: guy's movie song referenced by Michael. I already read that.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Why is that coming up again? Oh well, okay, thank you, John.
- 12:08Speaker 1: You can send another text if you want Scoots. You're
- 12:10Speaker 1: thinking of Gold Iron Gang. Great film, grid Iron grid
- 12:14Speaker 1: Iron Game. I thought it said gold but yeah it
- 12:16Speaker 1: says grid Iron Gang. That was a good movie. Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 1: There was another one about the Syracuse running Back. I
- 12:24Speaker 1: think it had Michael. No, it had the other guy
- 12:28Speaker 1: that always looks like I get the tube mixed up.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Oh shoot, it's uh the Express. I think it is
- 12:36Speaker 1: the name of the movie. Yeah, the Arnie Davis story. Yes,
- 12:40Speaker 1: who was in that? That was Oh shucks. He's been
- 12:46Speaker 1: in a bunch of great movies, but he was in
- 12:49Speaker 1: The Rookie about the Tampa Bay Race pitcher Dennis Quaid.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That's it. Dennis Quaid was the coach in that movie.
- 12:56Speaker 1: That that's a great movie. If you haven't seen that,
- 12:59Speaker 1: because I love you said you already said you don't
- 13:04Speaker 1: think football movies are good. I think they're the worst
- 13:07Speaker 1: of the sports movie I couldn't just I think that's
- 13:10Speaker 1: that is your worst take ever, is right there. It
- 13:14Speaker 1: is absolutely your worst take, because there are so many
- 13:18Speaker 1: football movies that are out there that I dearly love. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 1: it was a good movie. It's that one of my favorites.
- 13:25Speaker 1: But it's one of my good it's a good one.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Overrated as all get out. Oh my gosh, the same thing. Okay,
- 13:31Speaker 1: all right, what's your favorite sports movie? Not movie, not
- 13:35Speaker 1: the movie itself, but what sport? Is it? Baseball? It's
- 13:40Speaker 1: not football? Is it basketball? Is it hockey? I would
- 13:46Speaker 1: say probably baseball? Really okay, I see, I think baseball
- 13:54Speaker 1: is second. I I hate to tell you the basketball
- 13:57Speaker 1: movies are probably the worst. There aren't many out there
- 14:02Speaker 1: that I've enjoyed. I did enjoy the one about Texas Western.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I can't think of the name of that one. That
- 14:08Speaker 1: was a good movie where Texas Western won the national
- 14:11Speaker 1: title beat you know sad part they beat Kentucky. So
- 14:14Speaker 1: everybody thinks that Kentucky Adolph Rupp is this racist guy,
- 14:17Speaker 1: which he was not. I will I will stand and
- 14:20Speaker 1: correct everybody that ever wants to say Adolph Rupp didn't
- 14:24Speaker 1: want a certain race on his basketball team. That is
- 14:27Speaker 1: so wrong it's not even funny. There's multiple stories out there,
- 14:32Speaker 1: including my good friend Chip Rup that talks about his
- 14:35Speaker 1: grandfather and says, no, my grandfather was not a racist.
- 14:39Speaker 1: There was a reason why he couldn't, but then he
- 14:43Speaker 1: finally did so. Anyway, he was trying to protect because
- 14:47Speaker 1: he knew what would it be like taking that kind
- 14:49Speaker 1: of a player down to Mississippi Alabama. He's anyway, it
- 14:53Speaker 1: made it difficult. So I think I think the baseball
- 14:57Speaker 1: movies are some of the best. A Major League Moneyball,
- 15:04Speaker 1: Angels in the Outfield, Sandlot, you love that movie, Bad
- 15:10Speaker 1: News Bears the Original Bank and yeah, well then it's baseball. See.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I would put hockey, Uh what was it called miracle?
- 15:23Speaker 1: I would put that way up there. Yeah, but there's
- 15:25Speaker 1: only there's been limited hockey movies. There's been a limited Okay, yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 1: you're right about that. I mean I almost said figure
- 15:33Speaker 1: skating for Blades of Glory. Oh my gosh, God, that's
- 15:37Speaker 1: a that's a good one. I'm not gonna say it's great,
- 15:40Speaker 1: but that is a good one. Okay. What does it
- 15:45Speaker 1: say about me that I'm little upset the schools don't
- 15:49Speaker 1: have a list in front of the stores anymore, letting
- 15:52Speaker 1: people know what school supplies they need to get. Or
- 15:56Speaker 1: was that ever a thing down here in Louisville? It was, right,
- 16:01Speaker 1: I don't remember. Maybe not. I don't lie with the
- 16:05Speaker 1: private school, so they just told us here's everything you need.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I don't know if I ever remember seeing in front
- 16:10Speaker 1: of stores. Yeah. I don't think so either. But now
- 16:13Speaker 1: the thing that they do is the tax You know,
- 16:17Speaker 1: you don't pay taxes on school supplies any time? Oh yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 1: any time? Well they did in Florida. Do they do
- 16:24Speaker 1: it in Kentucky too? Dooughn't? They have no idea? But
- 16:28Speaker 1: that's when I say it. When I need certain things.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You can buy computers tax free up to fifteen hundred
- 16:34Speaker 1: dollars right now if you're in Florida. But I think
- 16:37Speaker 1: you can do it in Kentucky. But so I'm with you.
- 16:40Speaker 1: They should have a list on the stores to let
- 16:42Speaker 1: you know it, or at least on lote. The school
- 16:46Speaker 1: should put out there. Jeffson County, Oldham County, Spencer County,
- 16:50Speaker 1: all the counties around Louisville should put online here's what
- 16:53Speaker 1: your student needs as a first grader all the way
- 16:56Speaker 1: up through twelfth grade. That would be helpful, I think
- 16:58Speaker 1: so handily, said uh Ernie Davis. That was the That
- 17:07Speaker 1: was the movie forty eight Express right or Express? Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: great movie, Thank you forty eight handily as well. Let's
- 17:15Speaker 1: see here before we have to take a break. Sixty
- 17:19Speaker 1: five South is open at Crittendon, or you can get
- 17:22Speaker 1: on the Watterson going left out of fair Grounds. Gate
- 17:27Speaker 1: four is the best option because there's a traffic light there,
- 17:31Speaker 1: unlike Gate two. All right, good, I appreciate that bit
- 17:35Speaker 1: because that's how I'm going to get in and out
- 17:37Speaker 1: of thereund Like new bid for the show, Michael mispronounces
- 17:42Speaker 1: words and movies and we all have to guess what.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I think. That's a great idea. You give me a
- 17:51Speaker 1: word once a week, and I have to pronounce it
- 17:54Speaker 1: and then everybody has to guess what word I'm saying.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I mean, don't we already do that every week? Yeah? Pretty? Mu?
- 18:00Speaker 1: I mean yeah, I kind of cause you know, if
- 18:03Speaker 1: you didn't know me, if I was saying, all, would
- 18:05Speaker 1: you know what I got to go? Change my all?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Would you know what I was saying? Yeah? Because there
- 18:09Speaker 1: are people out there, that's what do you have to
- 18:11Speaker 1: get done? It's like I could get my all change
- 18:14Speaker 1: you got bowls of water? I don't know. I mean
- 18:16Speaker 1: I grew up with that, so yeah, I would know. Yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Best sports movies are baseball and then football. Michael, I'll
- 18:24Speaker 1: pick up your backpack so you aren't too anxious on
- 18:27Speaker 1: your first day of senior year. Yeah, that's right. I know. Listen,
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm who knows if I even graduated anything. I was
- 18:35Speaker 1: killed to go back to high school? Would you really know?
- 18:38Speaker 3: Not?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Me? I would not. My anxiety would go through the roof.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Why do you want to go back to high school?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Why not college? Yeah?
- 18:45Speaker 2: I mean college, literally any place you want to drop
- 18:48Speaker 2: me back in.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I would love to go. No, I was so bad
- 18:51Speaker 1: at school, No way, I don't want to do it.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I mean, I couldn't wait to get out of college
- 18:57Speaker 1: so I could go work and make some money. I
- 18:58Speaker 1: was just I was done with cool and working sucks. No,
- 19:04Speaker 1: it doesn't. As long as you're doing something you love.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I'd rather go to school. Okay, all right.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Even if you do something you love, it's still works. Yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 2: it still sucks. I enjoy it, No it doesn't.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I love. I love what I'm doing now. Now. If
- 19:17Speaker 1: you tell me I got to go back to my
- 19:18Speaker 1: old job of working with orthopedic and neurosurgeons and our
- 19:23Speaker 1: staff and hospitals and all that kind of stuff, yeah,
- 19:26Speaker 1: I would be right there with you. I love what
- 19:28Speaker 1: I'm doing right now, and I do it because I
- 19:30Speaker 1: love it, So all right, we gotta take a break.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Five O two three four fourteen fifty one to call
- 19:34Speaker 1: in five oh two four one four fourteen fifty one
- 19:36Speaker 1: texting on the Whiskey te text line, or you tweet
- 19:39Speaker 1: me at Just the Cat Radio our number two. We
- 19:42Speaker 1: got a famous person that just moved to Kentucky. We'll
- 19:45Speaker 1: talk about that as soon as we get back. Stay
- 19:47Speaker 1: right there. Our two are Just the Cats coming right out.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett, you gotta
- 20:17Speaker 1: turn my mic on there. I mean, I know, you know,
- 20:19Speaker 1: if anybody ever comes to the studio and you want
- 20:22Speaker 1: to know when the break is over, you see justin
- 20:25Speaker 1: run out of one office and go to another office.
- 20:27Speaker 1: That's when you know the break is over. And then
- 20:29Speaker 1: he doesn't even turn my mic on.
- 20:31Speaker 2: But well, I was looking at you up on the YouTube. Yes,
- 20:34Speaker 2: but your picture was frozen. Oh no, And I didn't
- 20:37Speaker 2: realize that your picture was frozen. Is it still frozen?
- 20:40Speaker 1: It is? I'm correcting it now. Oh you are okay?
- 20:42Speaker 1: All right? Then? Yeah, if you want to go listen
- 20:43Speaker 1: to us on YouTube or watch us, you can do that.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Just search Big X Sports Radio Louisville and you'll see
- 20:51Speaker 1: see my ugly mug. Is your camera fixed, by the way,
- 20:54Speaker 1: not yet. Seriously, I don't know what's going on. Okay,
- 20:57Speaker 1: I thought I had it. Are you surprised that the
- 21:00Speaker 1: bill is favored by one and a half tonight versus
- 21:04Speaker 1: Lah Familia?
- 21:06Speaker 2: Not particularly, No, I mean because La Familia was one
- 21:10Speaker 2: and a half the other day?
- 21:12Speaker 1: Oh really is that it was? They're just doing it's
- 21:14Speaker 1: a pick them, it's a pick them. So uh, we'll
- 21:18Speaker 1: talk about our predictions, uh, before we go for the day.
- 21:21Speaker 1: But whatever I predict just know is going to be wrong.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Oh really yeah, well no, you gotta pick sincerely I'm
- 21:28Speaker 1: going to but yeah, I'm just warning you now that
- 21:32Speaker 1: it's going to be wrong. Are you disappointed that the
- 21:35Speaker 1: World Cup is over? Very much?
- 21:38Speaker 2: So?
- 21:38Speaker 1: Are you? I will say no, I I don't care,
- 21:42Speaker 1: but I will say the fan participation and loyalty and everything,
- 21:51Speaker 1: all these fans from all over the world. I'll miss
- 21:53Speaker 1: that because that was fun to watch. I mean watching
- 21:57Speaker 1: the Norwegian fans get on the scalater and act like
- 22:00Speaker 1: they're rowing a boat. Uh watching, I just I'm trying
- 22:04Speaker 1: to think, what are some Watching the people walk across
- 22:07Speaker 1: expressways in New York City or or I should say
- 22:11Speaker 1: in New Jersey where MetLife Stadium is because they couldn't
- 22:15Speaker 1: get to the stadium was one of the crazier things
- 22:18Speaker 1: that I witnessed. That was wild.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I mean seeing them like eat all of our food, yes,
- 22:25Speaker 2: and taking all the American experiences like the whole rank
- 22:28Speaker 2: yes ranch dressing thing that. Yes, there were some really
- 22:33Speaker 2: really fun things happen.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I think there's some great moments that we all experience.
- 22:38Speaker 1: People from around the world coming to the United States
- 22:40Speaker 1: and the citizens of the United States experiencing all these
- 22:44Speaker 1: people coming here. I think it was one of the
- 22:46Speaker 1: coolest things. That's the part I will tell you right
- 22:49Speaker 1: now I will miss from the summer at twenty twenty six.
- 22:52Speaker 1: As far as the games, I'm not gonna miss that.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I didn't even watch yesterday, so I hate to tell you, well,
- 22:58Speaker 1: that's not true. I watch for about thirty seconds and
- 23:01Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't get it. I'm done. You should
- 23:04Speaker 1: have watched Saturday. Oh, the England versus h France.
- 23:09Speaker 2: If you want Americans to get into soccer, give us
- 23:13Speaker 2: six four games.
- 23:15Speaker 3: To it.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah, six to four. Crazy. I don't understand why the
- 23:20Speaker 1: clock goes up instead of down. I don't know why
- 23:23Speaker 1: you have to say nil, just go zero.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It goes down on in college. Yeah, but in soccer
- 23:30Speaker 2: it goes up, unless it's in college, then it goes down.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Oh. I said, Oh, I did not realize that. Why.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay, it's just kind of that that
- 23:41Speaker 1: age old debate. Should we have quarters in men's basketball?
- 23:45Speaker 1: You only have halves in men's college basketball. Everything else,
- 23:50Speaker 1: high school, NBA is quarters. We'll get to quarters eventually,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I think we will too. It's never made sense to
- 23:57Speaker 1: me why in college it goes to halves. But it'll
- 24:01Speaker 1: be an adjustment too, and I'll be okay with it.
- 24:04Speaker 1: So but no, I I'm disappointed that it's over because
- 24:08Speaker 1: I did like the fan experience. So I know you're
- 24:11Speaker 1: disappointing because the games. You liked the games? Now, yeah,
- 24:15Speaker 1: how will this go down as one of the better
- 24:19Speaker 1: World Cups or about the same as everybody else's I
- 24:23Speaker 1: would say the best? Oh really, is that your biasness
- 24:27Speaker 1: coming out because it was in the United States? No,
- 24:29Speaker 1: are you being realistic about it?
- 24:31Speaker 2: I don't think it has anything to do about where
- 24:33Speaker 2: the tournament was located. For me, it was just about
- 24:36Speaker 2: all the star power we saw. Like there, there's obviously
- 24:39Speaker 2: a ton of guys throughout the landscape of soccer that
- 24:42Speaker 2: are amazing players, no doubt about that. But we saw
- 24:47Speaker 2: the best of the best play the absolute best they could.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I mean, when you look at at the Golden Boot race,
- 24:54Speaker 2: which is given to the guy with the most goals,
- 24:56Speaker 2: that the top four, five, six guys are all people
- 24:59Speaker 2: that most people know their names, and that's that's awesome.
- 25:03Speaker 2: So I just thought it was a really it was
- 25:05Speaker 2: high quality level soccer that you got some really good
- 25:08Speaker 2: stories throughout this World Cup, Like the whole Cape Verity
- 25:11Speaker 2: thing was awesome. And I know that they didn't do
- 25:14Speaker 2: much in the end, but the fact that they got
- 25:16Speaker 2: to the knockouts and won a game, that's that's nuts.
- 25:19Speaker 2: So yeah, there was a lot of fun stuff that
- 25:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna miss, and unfortunately we got to wait another four.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Years for it. Yeah for you, where is it the
- 25:26Speaker 1: Where is the next one?
- 25:27Speaker 2: I think it's in Morocco, Argentina, Rain, maybe not Spain. Wow, Brazil,
- 25:36Speaker 2: I want to say, Brazil, Argentina.
- 25:37Speaker 1: South America. Yeah, okay, Well, good for them. And do
- 25:41Speaker 1: you think it'll ever come back in our lifetime to
- 25:43Speaker 1: the United States? Your lifetime? No, my lifetime?
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yes?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Wow? Yeah? You expecting me to die pretty soon?
- 25:49Speaker 2: No, I'm just not expecting the World Cup to be
- 25:52Speaker 2: back here in the next thirty years.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Really, oh, thirty years, I could be I could still
- 25:57Speaker 1: be around. How old would you be? Ninety six? Wow? Really?
- 26:01Speaker 1: You think I'm that old? How do you think I am?
- 26:04Speaker 1: Do you even know how I am? You're like fifty eight? Right? Yeah? Exactly?
- 26:08Speaker 1: All right? Vin? Well, I hope it does, just for
- 26:12Speaker 1: the sake of all these soccer fans that here here
- 26:14Speaker 1: in the United States, and and good for you. But yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I I hope it does because of the fact that
- 26:22Speaker 1: it brings a lot of attention, positive attention, I thought,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and a lot of tax space that was significantly brought up.
- 26:32Speaker 1: But anyway, which do you think about how much money
- 26:34Speaker 1: we made often play exactly well? And did you see
- 26:38Speaker 1: that German guy that's been going around the country. He
- 26:40Speaker 1: was in Kentucky over the weekend. No, Yeah, he was
- 26:43Speaker 1: visiting some horse farms, which I thought was cool. I
- 26:45Speaker 1: think that was another great story. There are a number
- 26:48Speaker 1: of great stories that I thoroughly enjoyed. Uh. The one
- 26:50Speaker 1: guy that literally got upsets like, this place is not bad.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I love this place. People keep telling me it's unsafe
- 26:57Speaker 1: over here. Got guns, you got this, that and the other.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I love America And I thought that was the coolest
- 27:03Speaker 1: thing I just did. I mean, I think generally everybody
- 27:09Speaker 1: around the world are nice, and I'm just like people
- 27:14Speaker 1: always criticize New Yorkers that, oh, they're some of the
- 27:18Speaker 1: rudest people. Know they're not. New Yorkers are some of
- 27:21Speaker 1: the nicest people. Up there. And you know what, it's
- 27:24Speaker 1: not the New Yorkers that are rude. It's the tourist.
- 27:27Speaker 1: They're the rude people. Are the people not from you.
- 27:30Speaker 1: You're not used to a city that big, you're not
- 27:32Speaker 1: used to the crowd, you're not used to a lot
- 27:34Speaker 1: of things well, and you have to act a little differently.
- 27:36Speaker 1: You have to get used to New York people as well.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Oh they're abrupt, But I love that. I love that
- 27:43Speaker 1: they say what's on their mind because that's how I
- 27:45Speaker 1: always want to be man, And that's you know, I
- 27:48Speaker 1: get away with it because I'll tease, like, for instance,
- 27:51Speaker 1: when you're waiting for somebody, I'll never forget it happened
- 27:55Speaker 1: last week. Here comes this older gentleman. I'm in a
- 27:58Speaker 1: hurry and he's using a walker to get on the
- 28:00Speaker 1: elevator and I start yelling, would you hurry up? I
- 28:04Speaker 1: don't have all day. And he looked at me and
- 28:07Speaker 1: started laughing, and I started laughing with him. But you
- 28:10Speaker 1: know a little bit of me was in there thinking
- 28:13Speaker 1: I'm serious with you. But we got a big laugh
- 28:17Speaker 1: at it. And his wife was with him, helping him on,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and she says, oh, you're so nice because I tried
- 28:23Speaker 1: to help him on because I wanted to hurry up
- 28:24Speaker 1: and go. But you know, I said, oh, man, as
- 28:27Speaker 1: this guy wasn't around, i'd be chasing you around this building.
- 28:29Speaker 1: You're a pretty lady, and so anyway, I just when
- 28:33Speaker 1: I tease a little bit of me as being very serious,
- 28:36Speaker 1: why are you looking at me that way? By the way,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I just I don't know how to feel about this,
- 28:43Speaker 1: because now, every now and then there's a person that
- 28:45Speaker 1: doesn't think I'm funny, but more times than not, everybody
- 28:49Speaker 1: thinks I'm funny. When I say something like that.
- 28:51Speaker 2: I just know you and I know how you said
- 28:53Speaker 2: it to this old man. But when you first said it,
- 28:58Speaker 2: I'm thinking that's like the rude of thing I've ever heard.
- 29:01Speaker 2: I just don't think there's a need for that. Yes, yes,
- 29:04Speaker 2: and I know a small party, you was serious, oh
- 29:06Speaker 2: very much. So oh yeah, I was in a very
- 29:10Speaker 2: much of a hurry. But I just it's like, no, no,
- 29:13Speaker 2: settle down, because that's the way it settles me down too,
- 29:17Speaker 2: because I want to make him laugh because he can't
- 29:19Speaker 2: help that. He's taken forever to get on in the elevator,
- 29:22Speaker 2: and so it helps me settle down because I you know,
- 29:25Speaker 2: my anxiety just goes through the roof.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I got to go, go, go go. Why were you
- 29:29Speaker 1: in a hurry? I don't remember, probably for no reason,
- 29:33Speaker 1: because I wanted to get out of the store. I
- 29:35Speaker 1: think that was the reason. I just want I don't
- 29:36Speaker 1: want to be in here. I'm around crowds. I want
- 29:38Speaker 1: to get out of here. I know it's it's the
- 29:40Speaker 1: dumbest thing you've ever heard. I've got more people like.
- 29:44Speaker 1: For instance, I was in an office a few weeks back.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I was sitting in Dale Roman's office out at Churchill
- 29:52Speaker 1: Downs and I'm like, oh, Dale, I gotta go. I'll
- 29:54Speaker 1: get out of you way. He goes, Michael, where are
- 29:56Speaker 1: you going? And I'm like, I'm going back to my house.
- 29:59Speaker 1: He goes, you have something to do? I said no.
- 30:00Speaker 1: He goes, why are you in a hurry? I said, Dale,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I don't know. I just feel like I'm in your way.
- 30:05Speaker 1: He goes, sit right there and relax is what he
- 30:10Speaker 1: told me to do. And I sat right there and
- 30:12Speaker 1: he told me story after story. Then he wanted me
- 30:15Speaker 1: to tell a story, and we just sat and left
- 30:17Speaker 1: for another hour hour and a half. He goes, you
- 30:19Speaker 1: feel better, now I said I do. I just for
- 30:21Speaker 1: some reason, I've always got to go. Shouldn't be in
- 30:24Speaker 1: a hurry, Michael, But that's my life. You shouldn't be there.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I have always been in a hurry. I just don't. Again,
- 30:31Speaker 1: it gets back to the point, I don't know how
- 30:32Speaker 1: it rocks. Did you enjoy the British Open, Yeah, very
- 30:36Speaker 1: much so. I thought it was kind of boring other
- 30:38Speaker 1: than the fireworks we had between Rory and Bryson de Shambo.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I thought that was kind of fun. Were you surprised
- 30:46Speaker 1: that Rory came out and went on this long rant
- 30:51Speaker 1: because of what happened with the two point penalty on
- 30:54Speaker 1: Saturday to the Shambo. We'll talk about that in a minute,
- 30:57Speaker 1: but he said he's not particularly fond of him. This
- 31:02Speaker 1: is Rory McElroy referring to Bryson to Shambo and believes
- 31:07Speaker 1: the Shambo's complaining after the two shot penalty on Friday. Uh,
- 31:12Speaker 1: what was due to Bryson improving his lie when he
- 31:16Speaker 1: was in in the long rough? Uh was deserved and
- 31:19Speaker 1: believes that. Now do you think that uh?
- 31:23Speaker 3: Or no?
- 31:24Speaker 1: No? Do you think that the Shambo deserved that penalty?
- 31:27Speaker 1: Two shot penalty? Did he improve his lie. He yet
- 31:30Speaker 1: he most certainly did. I mean, you know, why was
- 31:32Speaker 1: he criticizing it because he get caught. You don't stomp
- 31:36Speaker 1: like he was stomping. That's just that's not a natural movement.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Even if the grass is high, you're not stomping. You're
- 31:43Speaker 1: not going to fool the British. They know exactly what
- 31:46Speaker 1: you're doing. Bryson. And you know, all of a sudden,
- 31:48Speaker 1: Bryson was getting more and more popular again. Now people
- 31:52Speaker 1: are criticizing, not just to Shambo, but they're criticizing Roy
- 31:55Speaker 1: McElroy because of him coming out and going on a
- 31:59Speaker 1: long rants saying that, Oh man, I'm just sick of
- 32:01Speaker 1: Rob Bryson. I don't really like him anyway. It's like
- 32:06Speaker 1: he's just telling the truth.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I mean, that's a it's a live guy. We're always
- 32:09Speaker 2: had that opinion with the live guys since the very beginning.
- 32:12Speaker 1: So the whole live thing is still there. Yeah, why
- 32:15Speaker 1: who cares? I really don't understand if some guys wanted
- 32:20Speaker 1: to go play for Live. Are they just jealous because
- 32:22Speaker 1: they weren't invited to go play?
- 32:24Speaker 2: No. I think it's the fact that they were loyal
- 32:26Speaker 2: to the PGA When these guys weren't, and they went
- 32:30Speaker 2: and got three four, three hundred, four hundred million dollars
- 32:33Speaker 2: and now they can still play in these major championships.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Well, I mean, if they wanted to go, they should
- 32:38Speaker 1: have gone. Then they didn't want to go, though, that's
- 32:40Speaker 1: a thing, Okay, Well, they don't criticize the guys that did.
- 32:43Speaker 2: The PGA guys wanted to be rewarded for their loyalty
- 32:46Speaker 2: and they really they weren't. They really weren't.
- 32:48Speaker 1: No, not at all.
- 32:49Speaker 2: So it's it's the PGA didn't have that kind of money.
- 32:52Speaker 2: It's just a tinge of jealousy and that'll always be there.
- 32:54Speaker 2: As long as lives a thing, then there's always gonna
- 32:57Speaker 2: be PGA guys that hate.
- 32:59Speaker 1: To live guys. Uh So, why didn't you not think
- 33:02Speaker 1: it was? To me? I just thought it was a
- 33:03Speaker 1: boring tournament. There's just nothing really exciting about it. And
- 33:09Speaker 1: I part of me kind of believes that the World
- 33:13Speaker 1: Cup took away from it. I think the World Cup
- 33:16Speaker 1: took away from Wimbledon, from the Major League Baseball All
- 33:23Speaker 1: Star Week, and I think it took away from the
- 33:26Speaker 1: British Open. I just think more people were watching and
- 33:31Speaker 1: paying attention to the World Cup than they were anything
- 33:34Speaker 1: else and it had just taken over the world for
- 33:36Speaker 1: the most part.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Well, I mean it was on TV at a normal hour,
- 33:39Speaker 2: whereas all these rounds for the British Open weren't.
- 33:43Speaker 1: But I love that. I love waking up at five
- 33:46Speaker 1: six o'clock in the morning and guess what, there's golf
- 33:48Speaker 1: on it and it's live.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I did enjoy that. I loved it
- 33:51Speaker 2: as well, but yeah, not everybody probably did. I mean
- 33:54Speaker 2: it's hard when you got tea times firing up at
- 33:56Speaker 2: one thirty in the morning and you wake up at
- 34:00Speaker 2: seven or eight and half the golfers are already done. Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 2: it's kind of the lame way to take it in.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Well, what major tournament do we have coming up next?
- 34:09Speaker 1: The uh one? Oh that's it? That is it, I guess. Yeah,
- 34:14Speaker 1: but Bryson won't be in that, thank god. So because
- 34:18Speaker 1: here's what I want to happen. I now want to
- 34:21Speaker 1: see Rory matched up with Bryson Shamba and see how
- 34:27Speaker 1: what kind of fireworks that creates. That to me would
- 34:31Speaker 1: be must watch TV. If you saw those two being
- 34:34Speaker 1: forced to play together eighteen holes, I guess you got
- 34:37Speaker 1: to wait for the president exactly. That's gonna suck. But
- 34:41Speaker 1: don't you think that would be fun to watch? Or
- 34:42Speaker 1: am I wrong? I'd be in would I would watch
- 34:46Speaker 1: all eighteen holes.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Although I mean, I'm not really a fan of either
- 34:49Speaker 2: of those guys. I think they're both kind of craybabies,
- 34:52Speaker 2: So I don't know how much that would actually do.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you know the sad part about it, Rory is
- 34:57Speaker 1: my favorite player, and he is getting more and more
- 35:01Speaker 1: like an old fart that just complains about everything, and
- 35:03Speaker 1: I'm getting kind of disappointed with that. It's like, if
- 35:07Speaker 1: the shambo's doing what he's doing, let it go, don't
- 35:10Speaker 1: let it irritate you so much, you know. And I'm
- 35:12Speaker 1: guilty of that too, you know, I'm very guilty of that.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Between Dabo, Sweeney, Eli, Drink Drink Wits, I'm trying to
- 35:21Speaker 1: think anything notre dame. You know, I get I get agitated,
- 35:26Speaker 1: just a little agitated, But other than that, I'm good.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Those are probably my three big things that anything goes
- 35:33Speaker 1: on with them, I get really irritated.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And if they show Taylor Swift, oh that too old,
- 35:38Speaker 2: I'd forbid. You can't be doing that kind of stuff.
- 35:42Speaker 2: So please enough of the whole Taylor Swift. So were
- 35:46Speaker 2: you surprised at Spain won over Argentina? Not really No,
- 35:52Speaker 2: I mean once you get to that stage, it's I mean,
- 35:55Speaker 2: it wasn't like Egypt playing Spain.
- 35:57Speaker 1: You know. Did you feel sorry for Messy though that
- 36:00Speaker 1: plays for the the Argentinian great? Did he?
- 36:04Speaker 2: Not?
- 36:04Speaker 1: Really?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Messi's had an unbelievable career, he's.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but that would have been the way to go
- 36:10Speaker 1: out though.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean he won last World Cup, Okay,
- 36:13Speaker 2: so fair enough, like he got everything he ever wanted.
- 36:16Speaker 2: And there was the Nike commercial going around yesterday it
- 36:19Speaker 2: was like a young MESSI was like, if you would
- 36:22Speaker 2: have told this guy what this guy accomplished, then he'd
- 36:26Speaker 2: never believe it or whatever. And it's it's so true,
- 36:29Speaker 2: like he had a great career. I don't know that
- 36:32Speaker 2: he's necessarily even come out and said that he's done
- 36:34Speaker 2: with the World Cup. I think everybody's just under the
- 36:36Speaker 2: assumption this will be his.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Last one four more years. How old a guy is
- 36:39Speaker 1: MESSI he's thirty nine, Okay, so thirty nine he would
- 36:43Speaker 1: be forty three years old. Yeah, but he's that normal
- 36:47Speaker 1: age for a soccer player.
- 36:49Speaker 2: But Messi's not normal, and Messi the way he plays
- 36:53Speaker 2: isn't normal. Like he's not jogging twenty four to seven
- 36:56Speaker 2: throughout the entirety of a match. He's right, more times
- 36:59Speaker 2: than not, he's just walked around, wait until the ball
- 37:01Speaker 2: gets closed. I mean, that's that's impressive that he's he
- 37:03Speaker 2: would be playing that long. It's kind of like Tom Brady.
- 37:06Speaker 2: It's kind of like Lebron James, those guys that just
- 37:10Speaker 2: play at an elite level. And uh, because Tom Brady
- 37:14Speaker 2: can't come off the field unless the offense is off
- 37:16Speaker 2: the field. Lebron James, yeah, they can bring him off
- 37:20Speaker 2: the court. I mean, who do you think is more
- 37:23Speaker 2: impressive between those three, Messy Brady or Lebron James. That's
- 37:29Speaker 2: the kind of how I feel, exactly. He's getting hit
- 37:33Speaker 2: a lot during an entire season, and the fact that
- 37:36Speaker 2: he took Tampa Bay all the way to the Super
- 37:39Speaker 2: Bowl and won at his age was nothing short of amazing.
- 37:43Speaker 1: See slap the hell out of Logan. Paul's explain to
- 37:46Speaker 1: me what was going on with all that? I have
- 37:49Speaker 1: no idea. Why was that fun or was that no
- 37:52Speaker 1: apparently now apparently was a real thing, And why was
- 37:55Speaker 1: Karl Anthony Towns involved in this? I don't know. I don't.
- 37:58Speaker 1: I don't have the other part. It's like, this is
- 38:01Speaker 1: a group of guys I never thought I would see together,
- 38:05Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, you have altercations between
- 38:08Speaker 1: the two of them, and Karl Anthony Towns is in
- 38:10Speaker 1: the middle of it, trying to stop it. Yeah. I
- 38:13Speaker 1: don't really know anything about what this was for or
- 38:16Speaker 1: what it was. Yeah, I don't. I don't have any
- 38:18Speaker 1: of the details, but I know that it was pretty
- 38:21Speaker 1: fascinating for sure. It was definitely fascinating and h uh
- 38:25Speaker 1: to see Karl Anthony Towns to evidently do some kind
- 38:29Speaker 1: of correct move in wrestling called the chokehold or choke slam.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Choke slam. That was it twice. I didn't understand that.
- 38:36Speaker 1: So okay, I I don't know, but somebody's gonna have
- 38:40Speaker 1: to explain that to me too. But good for Karl
- 38:43Speaker 1: Anthony town Now, to me, that was just kind of fun.
- 38:46Speaker 1: That wasn't anything serious. But and then all of a
- 38:48Speaker 1: sudden you see the video of Tom Brady flipping Paul
- 38:52Speaker 1: off again somewhere else that some was at the soccer game.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I was gonna say, was that at the World Coup. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: it's like, what is going on? This is this is
- 39:00Speaker 1: so out of uh anywhere I have seen Tom Brady
- 39:06Speaker 1: react to anything.
- 39:08Speaker 2: No, maybe he just realizes how much of a douche
- 39:11Speaker 2: that he is. Oh really, I hate Logan Paul, So
- 39:15Speaker 2: I'm glad that somebody else feels the same.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know anything about Paul other than he
- 39:19Speaker 1: had that fake match or fight between him and oh
- 39:24Speaker 1: the boxer that was Jake? Oh was that? Okay? Never mind?
- 39:28Speaker 1: All right, then this one's Logan. Okay, all right, they're
- 39:30Speaker 1: related though, right, brothers? Yeah, goofballs? Just telling you goofballs?
- 39:35Speaker 1: All right, We gotta take a break five O two
- 39:37Speaker 1: three four fourteen fifty five O two four one four
- 39:40Speaker 1: fourteen fifty If you want to text, I'll get to
- 39:43Speaker 1: your text as soon as we get back, or you
- 39:44Speaker 1: can tweet meat. Just the cat radio we got and
- 39:47Speaker 1: we got to talk about this famous person that just
- 39:49Speaker 1: moved here. We're gonna talk about I promise we're gonna
- 39:51Speaker 1: talk about it because this is fascinating for me. Stay
- 39:54Speaker 1: right there. More than just the cats. I love this
- 40:18Speaker 1: song right here, Just gonna tell you right now, I
- 40:20Speaker 1: love this song. You can let it play for a
- 40:22Speaker 1: little bit. It's awesome. I love it, but I hate
- 40:26Speaker 1: it really, Like, why don't we don't need an intro
- 40:30Speaker 1: this long? It's awesome? Why are we doing it? You
- 40:33Speaker 1: a minute and a half intro? No, come on, you
- 40:36Speaker 1: got sting saying I love MTV. Then you got dire
- 40:41Speaker 1: straits in the background, and you're gonna hear the most
- 40:44Speaker 1: iconic intro ever right there. Yeah, okay, why can't we stop?
- 40:48Speaker 1: Because the anticipation, it's like, oh my gosh, I can't wait,
- 40:52Speaker 1: I can't wait, and then boom you hear that. Every
- 40:54Speaker 1: time I play this song is a rowing. It ticks me.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I love it. This makes me excited. You made me
- 41:01Speaker 1: in a good mood now, just because you did that,
- 41:02Speaker 1: because you know, oh, was it nineteen eighty six? Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 1: so it was forty years ago. They just celebrated it.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I think it was last week for Live and then
- 41:13Speaker 1: you just turned it off. Yeah, I'm tired of waiting, Mike.
- 41:17Speaker 2: It's been a minute in forty seconds, it really we
- 41:20Speaker 2: still haven't said a single word.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Oh, I love that song, stupid long in I love
- 41:25Speaker 1: that song. You are so wrong, of course, Direstrate's famously
- 41:29Speaker 1: played that at Live Aid at Wimbledon, the original Wimbledon stadium.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I like that you played that.
- 41:34Speaker 2: I liked the song as a whole. I just I
- 41:36Speaker 2: don't need a two minute in money for nothing. Yeah, correct,
- 41:40Speaker 2: great song. I'm good with names today for summer. I've
- 41:42Speaker 2: forgotten a couple, but first time I know exactly. Here's
- 41:46Speaker 2: another one I remember, remember, Gene Hackman. I'm going to
- 41:49Speaker 2: tell you why I'm mentioning that right now.
- 41:52Speaker 1: So John texted in I am a Kentucky fan for life, however,
- 41:56Speaker 1: I am from Indiana and the movie Hoosiers was great. Also,
- 41:59Speaker 1: another great basketball movie, The Pistol The Birth of a Legend.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I never watched that one, which about pistol Pete merrivit Man.
- 42:10Speaker 1: A lot of people do not talk about how good
- 42:12Speaker 1: he really was. That is true. There are not and
- 42:16Speaker 1: it's it's getting to a point where people forget certain
- 42:22Speaker 1: time periods, and I think Pete Merrivick is one of
- 42:25Speaker 1: those kind of players that people have forgotten about, which
- 42:29Speaker 1: is really kind of sad. But Hoosiers, that probably, with
- 42:34Speaker 1: Gene Hackman, that probably is my all time favorite basketball movie.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now, and you gotta agree with
- 42:41Speaker 1: that in cant Yah. Yeah, I would think that would
- 42:44Speaker 1: be one of your all time favorite movies. Yeah, because
- 42:49Speaker 1: that high school is outside Cincinnati, wasn't it. Yeah, it's
- 42:53Speaker 1: kind of close. Yeah, I think it was right there
- 42:55Speaker 1: in that tri state area of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
- 43:00Speaker 2: To go up there for a football game a couple
- 43:01Speaker 2: of years ago to the real school, Yeah, I'm island.
- 43:04Speaker 2: That place is in the middle of nowhere.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Is it really? And what did you go into the gymnasium?
- 43:10Speaker 3: No?
- 43:11Speaker 2: So, like I said, I was like, oh, which I
- 43:14Speaker 2: would have tried. I could not get any service, So
- 43:17Speaker 2: that was fun.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Oh Okay, that really stinks because there are places. There
- 43:24Speaker 1: are places I would love to go. Even though even
- 43:27Speaker 1: though I can't stand Notre Dame, I would love to
- 43:29Speaker 1: go to a football game there. I respect it. I'm
- 43:32Speaker 1: good really Okay, even though I can't stand Duke, I
- 43:36Speaker 1: would go to Cameron Indoor that I can get behind.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Why do you dislike Notre Dame so much but you
- 43:42Speaker 1: go to Duke.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I just I like basketball more than football. Okay, I
- 43:46Speaker 2: mean it's really that simple. Yeah, I would love to go.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I've never been to Kansas to I've been to Kansas State,
- 43:53Speaker 1: but I've never been to the Kansas University.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Just go to a Catholic church and do the same thing.
- 43:59Speaker 2: What do you mean they do that rock talk Jayhawk
- 44:02Speaker 2: sounds like you're a Catholic mass.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that does get old. I'm right there with you.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Ohio guy said, I'm going to miss Matt's World Cup update. See,
- 44:13Speaker 1: I thank you, Ohile guy, because I will have to
- 44:17Speaker 1: say I thought, and I wanted him to continue, but
- 44:20Speaker 1: he's just he's gotten busy down in Tampa. And I
- 44:25Speaker 1: thought his World Cup updates were phenomenal. Well, clearly you didn't.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I mean I didn't hear him all the time. You
- 44:34Speaker 1: didn't hear Okay, he did a great job, and I
- 44:37Speaker 1: just I enjoyed him. I don't even like soccer. I
- 44:40Speaker 1: enjoyed him forty eight hal say nothing boring about what
- 44:44Speaker 1: Fox did. He was on fire while some others witted
- 44:51Speaker 1: under the pressure. The golf guy, yeah, I know what
- 44:56Speaker 1: he's talking about. By the way, did you see the
- 44:59Speaker 1: speed in which he putted that last putt? Was that
- 45:02Speaker 1: crazier one? That was awesome? Well? You know why, I
- 45:05Speaker 1: think that was the smartest thing he could have done,
- 45:07Speaker 1: because you stand over a putt, and I've done it
- 45:11Speaker 1: many times, not for any kind of money, but you
- 45:14Speaker 1: stand over a putt for no money, and man, your
- 45:19Speaker 1: head starts getting you going. I think the smartest thing
- 45:22Speaker 1: he did was to get up there and put that
- 45:24Speaker 1: as fast as he could and be done and not
- 45:27Speaker 1: think about it. Just go up there and do what's natural,
- 45:29Speaker 1: and boom, he made it and he won the tournament.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Good for him. Did you not like that he putted
- 45:34Speaker 1: so fast?
- 45:35Speaker 2: No? I love that, Yeah, because I mean I play fast.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I enjoyed playing play fast.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I do too.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I mean there's a couple people in my life that
- 45:43Speaker 2: are not fast, and quite frankly, they drive me nuts
- 45:47Speaker 2: golfing with them.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm I'm a big speed guy. If you
- 45:50Speaker 1: play with some speed, I like it. Yeah, well, then
- 45:52Speaker 1: you would love playing with me because there's no need
- 45:53Speaker 1: to get up there and think and take practice wing
- 45:55Speaker 1: after practice wing. That's one of those other things that
- 45:58Speaker 1: irritates me. If you if you have to get up
- 46:00Speaker 1: there and take fifty practice wings, then you got you
- 46:04Speaker 1: bring your club back as you're addressing the ball like
- 46:06Speaker 1: three or four times. Dude, you're not playing with me. Well,
- 46:08Speaker 1: it's like, we're not going for a major championship. No,
- 46:12Speaker 1: we're not.
- 46:12Speaker 2: We're not all about fun. We're not going for our
- 46:14Speaker 2: tour card. Your six practice swings aren't gonna make you
- 46:18Speaker 2: hit it that much better, no matter of fact. I'd
- 46:20Speaker 2: make the argument that if the more practice wings you take,
- 46:22Speaker 2: the worst makes it worse. I couldn't agree more because
- 46:25Speaker 2: I get up there. I'm sometimes, I would say, majority
- 46:29Speaker 2: of time, I don't even take a practice swing.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I'd just get up there. I don't either. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:32Speaker 1: you get up there, hit the ball. I'm out of here,
- 46:34Speaker 1: let's go. I played eighteen holes with a buddy of
- 46:38Speaker 1: mine in two hours and ten minutes. Our forty five
- 46:40Speaker 1: is by quick. Wow. But I was by myself. Well
- 46:43Speaker 1: that okay, that makes a difference. So yeah, we played
- 46:46Speaker 1: in two ten. We probably average around two fifteen, two
- 46:49Speaker 1: twenty playteen holes. Have you ever heard of speed golf? Yes?
- 46:52Speaker 1: Are you familiar with that? Yes? I didn't realize that
- 46:54Speaker 1: was a thing until a couple of weeks ago. I
- 46:56Speaker 1: think it's ridiculous. You're getting to a point there where
- 46:59Speaker 1: you're not enjoying the game, and part of it is
- 47:03Speaker 1: and I realize a lot of it's my fault. You
- 47:05Speaker 1: got to get outside and enjoy it, and I don't.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I just I gotta go, go, go, go go, even
- 47:10Speaker 1: though I'm in I should be in no hurry. But
- 47:13Speaker 1: it's just it's just one of those situations. So, by
- 47:16Speaker 1: the way, a lot of people were talking about Cam
- 47:18Speaker 1: Williams over the weekend. They spot you know, the entire
- 47:20Speaker 1: team went to the TBT game on Saturday. Yeah, and
- 47:25Speaker 1: you shouldn't because they saw him in a boot and
- 47:28Speaker 1: on crutches. But but Mark Pope, the team, everybody's reassuring
- 47:34Speaker 1: everyone that it's just a precautionary measure. They're a little
- 47:38Speaker 1: worried that, uh, they brought him back too quickly. You know,
- 47:41Speaker 1: here's the thing this is, this is coming from Michael
- 47:44Speaker 1: Bennett's experience and orthopedic the business, my entire career. Here
- 47:50Speaker 1: we go, Yes, what is the father's part of your
- 47:54Speaker 1: body from the heart, your toes, exactly your foot and
- 48:00Speaker 1: so in order for that foot to or that fracture
- 48:05Speaker 1: to heal, the blood circuit, the heart circulates the blood
- 48:10Speaker 1: and the furtherest point from the heart is the foot.
- 48:13Speaker 1: So it takes a lot longer to heal. So that's why.
- 48:17Speaker 1: So they want to make sure that it's just not
- 48:20Speaker 1: a couple of months, they take four months to make sure.
- 48:23Speaker 1: So he's kind of ditching the summer practices, which is great,
- 48:27Speaker 1: and I like the conservative route that they're taking with
- 48:34Speaker 1: Cam Williams. And so when it's time to really get
- 48:37Speaker 1: up and going and start practicing and working hard, Cam
- 48:40Speaker 1: Williams at that point should be ready knock on wood.
- 48:43Speaker 2: It's like it's like I said on my show this morning.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Remember when I came in a couple weeks ago and
- 48:48Speaker 2: I was sporting crutches exactly, I didn't really need the crutches.
- 48:52Speaker 2: They were more just precautionary, so I didn't injure it. Further,
- 48:55Speaker 2: I feel the exact same way about Cam Williams.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Do you okay? Talking about UK for a couple of minutes.
- 49:02Speaker 1: UK Football picks up another running back yesterday out of
- 49:06Speaker 1: the JUCO, the same junior college, Garden City Community College
- 49:11Speaker 1: where Terry Wilson went h five ten two and four pounds.
- 49:17Speaker 1: A young man that's named Amir Smith committed to the
- 49:23Speaker 1: UK yesterday. This now makes are you ready for this?
- 49:27Speaker 1: And plus he has three years of eligibility so there
- 49:29Speaker 1: you go. Yes, he went to junior college, but he's
- 49:31Speaker 1: got three years.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Uh.
- 49:33Speaker 1: This now makes six running backs in UK's lineup. How
- 49:39Speaker 1: do you like that one of them workouts? Sure? Well exactly.
- 49:43Speaker 1: I mean because you got you know, you got CJ.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Baxter who transferred and will most likely be one of
- 49:48Speaker 1: the starters out of Texas. You got Javonte Barnes who
- 49:53Speaker 1: transferred out of Oklahoma to UK. UK is serious, got
- 49:58Speaker 1: depth on the running back room, and I thought this
- 50:01Speaker 1: was really interesting. Last year we can talk about Amir
- 50:06Speaker 1: Smith for a minute. He rushed for three and twenty
- 50:08Speaker 1: two yards five TVs on seventy four carries. He added
- 50:13Speaker 1: fourteen catches for one hundred and eighty three yards and
- 50:15Speaker 1: three scores through the air, and it's just it's just
- 50:20Speaker 1: amazing how many running backs they now have at UK.
- 50:24Speaker 1: But congratulations for him making decision and hopefully he gets
- 50:30Speaker 1: to see the field. We'll have to see. Have you
- 50:32Speaker 1: watched any of the OHO? You know the OHO is
- 50:35Speaker 1: back up on ESPN News now. Oh god, we're that
- 50:39Speaker 1: time of the year, yeah, yeah, where there's hardly any
- 50:42Speaker 1: sports going on. So since since the World Cup is over,
- 50:45Speaker 1: British Cup is over yesterday they switched over to the OHO.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Do you want to know what they had on one
- 50:50Speaker 1: of the first sports.
- 50:53Speaker 2: I was gonna try to guess, but I'm blanking speed chess,
- 50:56Speaker 2: Oh my god, on TV.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought. My my son Max is like, Dad,
- 51:04Speaker 1: you got to talk about this tomorrow. And I'm like,
- 51:05Speaker 1: that's a great topic right there. I agree, and like,
- 51:09Speaker 1: why are we all right? Is somebody actually seeking that out?
- 51:13Speaker 1: I don't know. Here's the other thing about it, too,
- 51:16Speaker 1: It's like chess is an is an activity, it's not.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I know, some people are gonna say it's a game,
- 51:23Speaker 1: but no, I mean it is a game, yeah, but
- 51:27Speaker 1: I mean, come on, it's not. It's not a sport exactly.
- 51:31Speaker 1: It doesn't raise your heart rate at all. No, not
- 51:33Speaker 1: at all. Watching them do this and one guy looks
- 51:36Speaker 1: like he's sitting in the bedroom of his apartment, It's like, Okay,
- 51:39Speaker 1: this is just weird. He's got his head set on
- 51:42Speaker 1: with the microphone, and I just I don't know. Then
- 51:45Speaker 1: the next one they showed was Highlight. Now, I do
- 51:48Speaker 1: enjoy watching Highlight, but I don't understand it, do you know? God?
- 51:53Speaker 1: I mean, the only thing I related to is the
- 51:55Speaker 1: show back in the eighties called Miami Vice. That was it.
- 51:59Speaker 1: I'm that I have no idea what or how you
- 52:02Speaker 1: scoring highlight or how you win a game. Now, to me,
- 52:05Speaker 1: that's not an activity. That is a sport and evidently
- 52:08Speaker 1: big and gambling. So Miami has Highlight, I don't know
- 52:13Speaker 1: Tampa used to have Highlight. I don't know if they
- 52:16Speaker 1: do anymore. But I don't know anywhere in the country
- 52:18Speaker 1: where highlight is played or where you could go watch it.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Me neither, because you know, they use that big kind
- 52:27Speaker 1: of a U shaped is it a stick or I
- 52:31Speaker 1: don't know what that is. They catch the ball and
- 52:34Speaker 1: the ball goes flying way down, hits the wall, bounces back.
- 52:38Speaker 1: It is fascinating to watch because there'll be times they
- 52:42Speaker 1: catch it and throw it back at the same time.
- 52:44Speaker 1: It's like, man, that takes some serious skill. Yeah, I'm
- 52:49Speaker 1: sure it'd be fun to play. I mean, it looks
- 52:51Speaker 1: a lot not badminton. Squash And what's the other game
- 52:56Speaker 1: they play in a box racketball? Yeah, racketball? Okay, yes,
- 53:04Speaker 1: Well you know the difference between squash and racketball, right,
- 53:07Speaker 1: squash it's a more of a bad minton racket with
- 53:10Speaker 1: a dead ball. Racketball is a short, stubby racket with
- 53:13Speaker 1: a live ball that bounces. Yeah, squash is hard. That's
- 53:17Speaker 1: a workout. Oh yeah, I used them both as workouts.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Did you really? Yeah? I used to play squash quite
- 53:24Speaker 1: a bit. I loved it. That was That was one
- 53:26Speaker 1: of my favorite games. All Right, we gotta take another break.
- 53:28Speaker 1: We got one more break coming up. I'll get to
- 53:30Speaker 1: your texas soon as we get back. Plus, we got
- 53:32Speaker 1: to talk about I still haven't talked about. I'm so sorry.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I promise it'll be the first topic I bring up
- 53:38Speaker 1: as soon as we get back for the break. Okay,
- 53:40Speaker 1: and we'll talk about the new celebrity in the state
- 53:42Speaker 1: of Kentucky. Stay right there. One more segment of just Acount.
- 53:53Speaker 2: We got to move.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Well, don't blame me. This was the long intro. I
- 54:34Speaker 1: have no idea who you're playing here.
- 54:37Speaker 3: I was.
- 54:37Speaker 1: I could tell. I can tell by the look on
- 54:40Speaker 1: your You know, I'm trying to figure out who it
- 54:42Speaker 1: is here. You'll know, ready, I will, Well, it's Eddie Murphy. Yeah.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Is that a party all the time? It is? I
- 54:55Speaker 1: don't know.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I don't know what the deal is with this song,
- 54:57Speaker 2: but I have been absolutely addicted to it really, just
- 55:01Speaker 2: it makes me feel good.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Have you seen the time that he was on stage
- 55:05Speaker 1: with a band, James Brown's band, and it was I
- 55:09Speaker 1: think a birthday celebration for all shucks. Of course I
- 55:14Speaker 1: now I can't remember his name, but one of the
- 55:16Speaker 1: other comedians back in the day, Richard Pryor, that's it.
- 55:20Speaker 1: And James Brown's ass Eddie Murphy, So can you really
- 55:23Speaker 1: do me? And then all of a sudden he turns
- 55:26Speaker 1: around and starts doing James Brown like perfectly. It is
- 55:31Speaker 1: so much fun to see him do him when he
- 55:33Speaker 1: used to do I think I only did it one time.
- 55:35Speaker 1: I was sorry not live James Brown's celebrity hot tub,
- 55:41Speaker 1: and it was the most ridiculous thing in the world
- 55:43Speaker 1: you could ever think. Oh that was hilarious he talking
- 55:47Speaker 1: about you made me watch that one. Oh it was not.
- 55:50Speaker 1: It was not awful. I love James Brown celebrity. That's
- 55:54Speaker 1: the most ridiculous thing you can think of. I mean,
- 55:56Speaker 1: they come out with all these dumb shows. Even today,
- 56:00Speaker 1: they still come out with all these dumb shows. Can
- 56:02Speaker 1: you imagine a Diane Sawyer celebrity hot tub. I mean
- 56:06Speaker 1: that would be must watch TV. I would watch it,
- 56:11Speaker 1: Hillary Clinton celebrity hot tub. Come on, I'm out, I'm out,
- 56:16Speaker 1: all right, Dan. Speaking of celebrities, there is a new
- 56:21Speaker 1: celebrity that's living in Kentucky. Not by choice, by the way,
- 56:27Speaker 1: But is this who you think I'm talking about? Yes,
- 56:29Speaker 1: Joe Exotic from Tiger King was transferred from Fort Worth,
- 56:35Speaker 1: Texas to Lexington, Kentucky. I never knew that place over
- 56:39Speaker 1: there off of what is it Newtown Pike over in Lexington.
- 56:43Speaker 1: I forget what the name of the road is, but
- 56:46Speaker 1: it is our leastown road because I drive past. That's
- 56:49Speaker 1: how I get into Lexington. I get off sixty four,
- 56:52Speaker 1: get off and drive right past it. I didn't know
- 56:54Speaker 1: it was a federal prison. And he's serving twenty two
- 56:57Speaker 1: years for conspiracy to commit murder for higher and nine
- 57:01Speaker 1: counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.
- 57:04Speaker 2: But yeah, Carol Baskin still gets to walk free for
- 57:06Speaker 2: trying to kill her Rose.
- 57:08Speaker 1: It's ridiculous.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Oh really, I don't remember any of that. Yeah, she
- 57:13Speaker 2: put him through the meat grinder, fed him to the tigers.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Remember I forgot all about that. Yeah, yeah, she gets
- 57:20Speaker 2: to walk free. Wow, ridiculous.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Why do you think they transferred him from Fort Worth
- 57:25Speaker 1: all Jamie, you tell me, is there any reason why
- 57:28Speaker 1: they transferred him from Fort Wood, Texas up to Lexington,
- 57:32Speaker 1: Kentucky of all places? I mean, I don't want him
- 57:34Speaker 1: around horses. Sorry, bad joke, but a little bit kind
- 57:41Speaker 1: of serious.
- 57:41Speaker 2: It is curious why they would move him. I must
- 57:44Speaker 2: have been I don't know, some sort of issue or something.
- 57:47Speaker 1: And how did they move him? Does he get on
- 57:49Speaker 1: an actual plane? I bet? I bet they drive? Oh
- 57:53Speaker 1: my gosh, how long did that take? And then you
- 57:55Speaker 1: gotta you think it's straight through? Do you think they
- 57:58Speaker 1: stopped and spend the night somewhere? Does he tried to escape?
- 58:01Speaker 1: I mean that was I will say I watched that
- 58:05Speaker 1: whole uh what do you call it? Documentary? Or everything?
- 58:10Speaker 3: That was?
- 58:11Speaker 1: It was that was the big big to do back then.
- 58:14Speaker 1: What was it five six years ago? Yeah? COVID. I
- 58:16Speaker 1: mean it's I tried It was COVID, wasn't it. That
- 58:18Speaker 1: was hard to believe it's been that long, But man,
- 58:22Speaker 1: what a show. But I'm just trying to figure out
- 58:24Speaker 1: why is he in Kentucky now?
- 58:27Speaker 2: I like to think that they probably stopped somewhere on
- 58:29Speaker 2: the on the way, but instead of it being a hotel.
- 58:32Speaker 2: They just popped into another prison, like, hey, we're we're
- 58:36Speaker 2: staying the night tonight. Can you put him somewhere secure
- 58:38Speaker 2: and give us your pop bunk? That sounds like an
- 58:41Speaker 2: episode from the Andy Griffith Show. Just to let you
- 58:43Speaker 2: remember when that real pretty lady stopped there and everybody
- 58:47Speaker 2: was falling for and she was trying to really escape.
- 58:50Speaker 2: You'll find this hard to believe though, but that was
- 58:52Speaker 2: a little before my time. Oh, come on, everybody watches
- 58:54Speaker 2: Andy Griffin, not me.
- 58:55Speaker 1: It's black before by time, isn't it black and white? Yes? Yeah,
- 58:59Speaker 1: hard of it. The last couple of seasons are in color.
- 59:03Speaker 1: I don't watch any of those. I only watched here's
- 59:05Speaker 1: my rule. I only watch Andy Griffith shows that has
- 59:09Speaker 1: don Knots in it. Five Okay, yeah, I don't watch
- 59:13Speaker 1: any of the others that don't have don Knots. When
- 59:16Speaker 1: don Knotts left the Andy Griffith Show, I was done
- 59:18Speaker 1: with Andy Griffin. Yeah, and that was before my time too,
- 59:22Speaker 1: smart elec. That's talking Andy Griffith with Michael Bennet. Yeah,
- 59:25Speaker 1: there you go. That should be another segment right there.
- 59:27Speaker 1: One person texted out, is it bad? The main reason
- 59:30Speaker 1: I wanted Argentina to win was because I feel like
- 59:33Speaker 1: we never hear anything good about our friends down south.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Am I the only one who feels like South America
- 59:41Speaker 1: is the continent that has talked about the least. That's
- 59:44Speaker 1: a great question, that is, I will say, mister Illinois,
- 59:49Speaker 1: that's one of your better questions right there. Antarctica is
- 59:52Speaker 1: definitely the continent's talked about the least. I think that's
- 59:55Speaker 1: another good point. Yes, but is it South of America
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: over the ones that we mostly talk about South America, Asia,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: North America, Europe? I would say the answer is yes,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: it is the one that we talk about the least
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: outside of antark Gosh, you're stuck on the Antarctica or
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: really Australia. We talk about South America more than we
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: talk about Australia. You think so, yeah, But I think
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: he means in general, not just what I was really No,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I think I think Australia's talked about quite a bit.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Gooday mate, Oh boy, here we go. What was Why
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: were you saying that?
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: That was because of the horse that sounded Wallaby, that
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: that is the chief Wallaby. That was it? Right there? John? God,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: that's gonna irritate me. Now Josh takes it out. Speed
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: chess could work. The competitors just need to do lines
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: off the my gosh, off the table next the timer
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: before making a move. My god, I probably watched that. No,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: we're not. No, we're not encouraging the U for chess
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: players to watch. I mean, I I'd probably have to
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: do it just to watch it. But no, I'm not.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: I'm not encouraging that. So let's see. Best stories are
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: the Charlie Murphy is Charlie Murphy stories from the Chappelle Show.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Charlie Murphy was hilarious. You know that's Eddie Murphy's brother. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: And if you go watch one of Eddie Murphy's stand
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: ups and it's where he's wearing the red really tight
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: leather pants and jacket, I think it's delirious. And some
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: lady starts yelling us it is okay, And some lady
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: starts yelling at Eddie Murphy. And you hear a guy
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: say sit the blank down or shut the blank up
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: something like that. They said that was Eddie Murphy's brother,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Charlie yelling that, and then Eddie Murphy quickly turns around
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: and says, y'all didn't know I was a Ventrilliicus, did you?
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: And I'm like, it was unbelievable how that that that
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: worked out, how quickly he could come up with a line.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: People are just unbelievable when they could do stuff like that.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Eddie Murphy is one of those kind of guys. Best.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: The best thing about Joe Exotic is what he went
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: for full when he went full Millie Vanilli and made
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: a music video. He didn't even sing. I didn't know that.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Do you remember that? Yeah? I can't remember what the
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: name of the song is. Oh, it must have been bad.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Oh it's horrible. Okay, uh, what have you not watched
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: con Air? Thankfully, Nicholas Cage wasn't on the plane with
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Joe Exotic. That is true. I did watch con Air.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Did you see that one? Never say that? Okay, never mind,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: we'll just leave that one alone. Well, Argentina did have
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: an issue in the forties about who they let migrate
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: to their country. Speed Chess sounds messed up. Yeah, I
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: couldn't agree more with that. Right there, sounds like Mike
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Tyson's here. Oh my god, that's oh my gosh, that's
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: pretty good right there. I'm glad that Spain. This is
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: from Patrick. I'm glad that Spain won, as my uncle's
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: family is living in that country. He intended to watch
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: party where around five thousand or more fans gathered for
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: the game. That's pretty cool because that game was that
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: what time three o'clock yesterday? Yeah, which I don't know
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: what time that would be. It'd be about nine o'clock.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I think it's like a six hour difference. So that's
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: what it would be for for there. That's that's pretty cool.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: So you're Patrick, your family is living in Spain, that's
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: that's Could you do that? Yes? No, I can tell
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: you right now. I couldn't. I could live anywhere, could
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: you No, I could not. I did not live anywhere.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Maybe not Russia. How about Alaska? When when the when
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: it's dark there for six months? I could make it
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: happen full time or just for a little bit. I
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: don't want to commit to full time right now. Okay.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: By the way I just went, you know, when I
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: was around Churchill downside, decide to go the long way
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: and since sixty five is closed down, and drive downtown
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: in the river road back to my home. I literally
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: witnessed a truck go through the can opener. Did you?
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: I did? How I'm looking at the guy, I'm like,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: how are you an idiot? There's signs, flashing lights, everything
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: telling you not to go that way, and he still
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: went that way, and there he was stuck, literally stuck
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: in the bridge. It's to the point where it's not
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: even funny to me anymore. How ridiculous this you? Okay?
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: One person said it was something like I saw Tigers?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Was the song title? Horrible good? Ha ha ha. I'm
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: sure I've heard it. Yeah, only song I know about
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: tiger is the Eye of the Tiger. Oh, you know,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: the one from the Hangover? What Do Tigers Dream? Yeah,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: but that's just a song they made for But it's
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: still a song about tiger. Okay. Well, I mean famous
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: songs that were actually somewhat good back in the day,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: and that was Iya the Tiger. I don't remember the
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: name of many. Yeah, but anyway, all right, so tonight
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: seven o'clock. You said it's on FX fs FS one.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: If it's on FX, it's probably like, no, it's a movie.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I know you're right, fs UK are our left Familia
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: playing at Freedom Hall versus the vill Let's talk about
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: our predictions. What do you think is going to happen
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: in this game tonight? It's and right now, Like I
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: said mentioned earlier, the Hill is favored by one and
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: a half, which basically a toss up game. They don't
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: know where to go with this.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I think with the way the last game ended
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: and the way it got tight down the stretch, I've
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: got Louisville or the Villa winning this one just because
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: what's the TVT you want? TVT wants this to go
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: three games, So oh yeah, they're gonna find a way
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: to make it go three games. Louisville Windnesday night, Cats
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: will have to have to fight for it. I guess
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: on Wednesday when the next game is gonna be.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be the most disappointing part. What if
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: with the vill came back, they win tonight, then they
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: play in Lexington what is it Wednesday or Thursday, and
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: then they win that game. It's like, okay, we gotta
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: listen to this, but uh, anyway I listen, I'm I'm
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: probably right there with you. I think the Vill's gonna
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: win just because it's at Freedom Hall. I would like
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: to see a lot of UK fans out there tonight.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: You will. I think you'll see some Now, you'll see
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: a lot. You think it'll be a lot, especially after
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the win. Yeah, you think it's gonna be a lot.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I'm hoping it is. That kind of gets everybody fired up, knowing, man,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: they're coming here. We just won the game the other night.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Andrew Harrison, Willie call you Stein, you got Liggins out there,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: come on, I'm going I think it'll be a lot
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: of fun. So we'll see what happens. We'll talk about
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: it more tomorrow, and I appreciate you listening. Everybody. We'll
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: see you tomorrow in just the Cats. Everybody, have a
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: great day.
