Interview with Curdella Forbes, Author of Novel Set in Jamaica, A TALL HISTORY OF SUGAR
Set primarily in Jamaica from the 1950s to present day, the Curdella Forbes novel, A TALL HISTORY OF SUGAR, is the story of Moshe and Arienne, from birth to death, from growing up together as best friends to becoming star crossed lovers. We talked in part about how her novel addressed the vestiges of colonialism, slavery, and racism. Curdella Forbes is the author of four previous novels and a professor of Caribbean literature at Howard University.
