- 0:00Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Eye Opener Society. Thank you again so much
- 0:04for hitting the play button, for listening to us, for downloading.
- 0:08We really enjoy you, the audience, and that's why I brought Hannah back.
- 0:13What's up, Richard? Yeah, Hannah's going to be back.
- 0:16We're also going to have a whole bunch of other people coming on,
- 0:20whether it be Elaine from Arcane Oracle and Lun from Haunted and Waiting or
- 0:24Sunset Child from Sunset Child's Out There podcast.
- 0:28I'm also planning very soon, since Hannah and I are back, I'm going to bring
- 0:34Brittany back too as well. It's Brittany bitch.
- 0:36Yeah, we're going to bring Brittany back because last interview she did with us was so awesome.
- 0:42We had a great time with that.
- 0:45And I would like her to interview us again now that we have kind of reunited.
- 0:50So I'm going to try and set that up.
- 0:52I know it's a little difficult with everybody and schedules and everything else
- 0:55that's going on in everybody's life.
- 0:57And that's what the show is about. It's about life. The everyday,
- 1:01you know, trying to pull through, trying to get some inspiration,
- 1:04trying to stick some spiritual stuff, some metaphysical stuff,
- 1:08as well as some haunted stuff and ghosts and whatever else we could find.
- 1:12We like to be all over the place, but we still like to focus on everybody to focus in on your life.
- 1:20We'd rather see everybody happy than miserable. And it's difficult because a
- 1:24lot of times we feel that way, too.
- 1:26So Hannah, here's something I found Again, I like to Since we didn't have any
- 1:31topics I just figured I always have something in the bag We're rolling with
- 1:36this one So I find a little quote I'm going to say the quote and then we're going to discuss it,
- 1:41So this one Probably fits a lot of situations It's better to admit You walk
- 1:47through the wrong door Than spend your life In the wrong room Do you want to
- 1:53take that one first? Yeah,
- 1:56Yeah, I guess. So that quote obviously resonates with me.
- 2:03I said my last, you know, my welcome back podcast, basically,
- 2:07I'm going through a divorce.
- 2:10And like I said, I'm not going to get into, you know, my details or anything like that.
- 2:14But I think when it comes to my situation, it's just, I realized that I did
- 2:23walk through the wrong door. That door provided me a lesson.
- 2:27However, repeat the second part of the quote, please. Oh, yeah. I'll read it again.
- 2:31Better to admit you walked through the wrong door than spend your life in the wrong room. Yeah.
- 2:36So I walked through that wrong door.
- 2:42I did everything that I could. Um, but I realized that that room was not for me.
- 2:48Um, and so here I am, you know, it's been since October, I'm still in the thick of it.
- 2:55Um, but I removed myself from the room that I knew wasn't for me. And, um.
- 3:04Takes a while. And I'm still dealing with the mental back and forth of,
- 3:11oh, my God, this is like your life now.
- 3:13Oh, my gosh, like this happened to you.
- 3:16But I've come to terms with that. I had my strength to close that door and create
- 3:26my own room where I belong.
- 3:30So i think what um i like so much about this quote society and just life in
- 3:37general there's so many opportunities for us and there's always you know those
- 3:42opportunity knocks that's a door.
- 3:45Doors work both ways you could come and you can go you do not need to trap yourself
- 3:52in one room for the rest of your life if that room does not suit your needs
- 3:57or if you're not comfortable in it.
- 3:59And this also applies to the crowds you're around, the people that you keep.
- 4:04We don't need to remain with those crowds or in those rooms.
- 4:08We can turn around, we can walk out and we can function again and relearn ourselves
- 4:16and learn to adapt and find the rooms, find the crowds, find those people that
- 4:20we are most comfortable with,
- 4:23Because being in that wrong room with the door closed and you're constantly
- 4:28looking at that door, wondering what's on the other side, that's where we need
- 4:32to reach for that doorknob, turn it, open it up and see what's going to be presented to us.
- 4:38And that can go for like so much, like so many aspects of life,
- 4:42like relationships, jobs, friendships, like just anything in your life.
- 4:49Like it could be like a diet. It could be a diet, like something personal for
- 4:53you. It could be religion. It can literally be anything in life. Don't,
- 4:59If that door, like you said, if that room that you're in doesn't suit you,
- 5:02you any more than open that door and go explore like you're it's endless.
- 5:09And, you know, not saying like in or like a relationship type,
- 5:13like go sleep around or anything like that. You know what I mean?
- 5:16Unless you want to. Yeah. But I mean, that's not me, but good for you.
- 5:21That's how you want to roll. But, you know, it's just one of those things where
- 5:25it's like it's anything in life. If you don't have to, if you feel that it's
- 5:29not right for you, you don't have to be trapped.
- 5:32And I'm, it's, this is hard for me. I'm sorry. That's fine. Yeah.
- 5:37Well, we could present the room. A lot of these rooms, what happens is if you're
- 5:42in them and there's no windows and there's no.
- 5:45You feel suffocated. Yeah, you feel suffocated. You don't know.
- 5:48Again, you're trapped. You don't know what's on the other side of the walls,
- 5:51the other side of the door.
- 5:53And I'll tell you something it doesn't matter what point what stage
- 5:56in your life you're at young old whatever
- 5:59there's nothing wrong with changing there's
- 6:03nothing wrong with evolving there's nothing wrong
- 6:05with it at all you can do it at any point in your life
- 6:08and you don't need to feel worried about it
- 6:11it's liberating when you
- 6:14do make that change when you do decide hey I don't want to work in this job
- 6:19anymore and you go out and you find another job Or I don't want to be around
- 6:23these people anymore I don't want to do alcohol anymore No matter what it is
- 6:28You can make the change as long as you want to And you will persevere,
- 6:34Because you yourself really don't want to be in that situation Because if you're
- 6:38looking at that door and you want to get out,
- 6:41and you actually do, you've just succeeded in life.
- 6:45You made a move that's going to better yourself. Yeah. And as far as people
- 6:50who are like, well, I'm scared to open the door.
- 6:52I can promise you that I completely understand.
- 6:57More than I can say, I completely understand.
- 7:01But one day, and I swear to you, it's just going to be one random day.
- 7:07You're gonna you're gonna look at that fucking doorknob and
- 7:10you're just gonna open it wide and you're gonna slam that
- 7:13door shut and it's gonna be like monsters inc like you're
- 7:16gonna just demolish the door you're gonna put it through the shredder um
- 7:20because you realize that it no
- 7:22longer suits you and that room was
- 7:25actually slowly killing you um and
- 7:29it's so like you said it's liberating um to share
- 7:33somewhat personal i know everything that
- 7:36happened with me when i told gary i
- 7:40dropped to my knees in tears how i was devastated but at the same time it was
- 7:48like something lifted like it was like i felt something lift off of my soul
- 7:54like metaphysically physically.
- 7:57Emotionally everything so it was just such a overwhelming
- 8:01feeling for me where I was literally dropped to my knees and the feeling is
- 8:08like I said it's an overwhelming feeling you're not necessarily happy you're
- 8:11not necessarily sad it's just like that door drained you so much that it's just
- 8:16like this relieving exhaustion that you have,
- 8:19Yeah. And I remember that. And I know, because I listen, I've been through it
- 8:23to myself and more than once.
- 8:26And it is because, yeah, it's liberating. But at the same time,
- 8:31it's completely frightening.
- 8:33But change is never comfortable until you actually make the change.
- 8:38And to put things into a whole nother perspective on that, too,
- 8:42you may be in a room that something's wrong, something's off.
- 8:47Add color, change the furniture, change, make it suit you.
- 8:53Never settle for something that's not you. Yeah.
- 8:56I wanted to say that because let's say the room isn't that bad,
- 9:01you know, like it's not bad. It's just maybe you need adjustments.
- 9:04There's nothing wrong with adding a window, you know, and that is metaphorical, obviously.
- 9:11But, you know, making the changes, you're like, you know I love this room,
- 9:14but something needs to change.
- 9:16It's not necessarily that you want to leave the room or open the door,
- 9:18but maybe you want to add a screen door.
- 9:20So you're allowing other things
- 9:22to come in, but you're still in that safe room that you want to be in.
- 9:26Yeah. And that makes perfect sense. And that was good. I love it,
- 9:30man. I love having you back.
- 9:32Yeah. So definitely, if you apply this to your own life, think of the situation
- 9:36that you're in, figure out if it's something you need to change completely,
- 9:40where you need to change Do you need to shred that door?
- 9:43Yeah. Do you need to shred that door? Or you need to just add a pop of color.
- 9:47That's it. And I think that's what we hope for you.
- 9:50Because again, you, the audience, we don't know you, but we know a lot of people
- 9:55go through these little changes or big changes or whatever they are.
- 10:00And we hope we help you out a little bit with that, especially when we're not
- 10:03doctors or psychiatrists or anything like that. Far from it.
