- 1:06Speaker 1: guys to today's radio Archive hour. And this is a
- 1:10Speaker 1: character named Lloyd Bona fide a guy that I saw
- 1:13Speaker 1: a lot of as a kid. Members of my generation
- 1:16Speaker 1: probably saw a lot of these guys. These were Korean
- 1:18Speaker 1: War veterans, World War II veterans. They were up and
- 1:19Speaker 1: down the street. They were the guys that were telling
- 1:21Speaker 1: you to stay off of their lawn. They were nice
- 1:22Speaker 1: guys in many many instances as well, but they were funny,
- 1:26Speaker 1: kind of cranky sometime guys. And Lloyd was one of
- 1:29Speaker 1: these dudes. And he always had complaints about one thing
- 1:32Speaker 1: or another. He owned a heating and plumbing business in Alhamburg, California.
- 1:36Speaker 1: He was a Navy veteran and his wife is Gladys.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And on the show today he talks about a wedding
- 1:41Speaker 1: gift that he wants back because the wife of the
- 1:43Speaker 1: couple died. And you know he's a veteran, So don't
- 1:46Speaker 1: piss him.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Off, Lloyd.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Hold on, I'm just introducing the show. Okay, yes, sir, okay,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and we're talking with Lloyd. He has called us from Alhambra.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You're listening to the Phil Henry Show.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Lloyd.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Helen and Gil Daniels were married over the summer, Is
- 2:20Speaker 1: that correct?
- 2:20Speaker 2: That is correct. Gil met Helen over at one of
- 2:24Speaker 2: our mixers at the Senior Center and they were married.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And may God have mercy on her soul. She passed
- 2:32Speaker 2: on within a month of that.
- 2:33Speaker 3: She died one month after they were married.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yes, she did. And what we did, and I haven't
- 2:40Speaker 2: heard anybody else say anything.
- 2:43Speaker 3: These are two friends of yours.
- 2:45Speaker 2: We knew both of them independently of each other, and
- 2:48Speaker 2: we're happy to say that we introduced them to each other.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I was so sorry to hear that Helen had an
- 2:54Speaker 2: aneurysm and she died.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Within one month of being married.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Within one month. We had given them a wedding gift.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And this is a kind of an unusual gift. But
- 3:06Speaker 2: he loved Gil liked using these things. It's a Mikita
- 3:10Speaker 2: cordless drill, right, and it had twenty drill bits. It
- 3:14Speaker 2: was a good good thing. He's kind of a.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Handyman, sure, he likes to likes to kind of do
- 3:19Speaker 1: things around the house.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Likes to do as a workshop. But she has passed
- 3:24Speaker 2: on and this has been about five months since she died,
- 3:31Speaker 2: and I'm I'm a little bit of a loss. I
- 3:34Speaker 2: don't know what to do right now because I know
- 3:37Speaker 2: he's been through a very serious loss. But the spring
- 3:40Speaker 2: is coming up and I want to put shelves up
- 3:43Speaker 2: in the den because I've got my presidential coins at
- 3:47Speaker 2: Gladys has the precious moment figurines.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I don't know what those are? Is that these are
- 3:52Speaker 3: just things that you guys collect.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yes, that's great.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm a little well what are what are you at
- 3:56Speaker 1: a loss over? Because when you called.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Well over is that standard procedure is? And you've been
- 4:03Speaker 2: asked around? Etiquette dictates that if a couple doesn't stay
- 4:09Speaker 2: together for six months after being married, they are to
- 4:12Speaker 2: return all the wedding prisons and.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Well, okay, is that some one of those wedding things?
- 4:20Speaker 3: Is that?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Well that my wife, glad Gladys informed me of this,
- 4:25Speaker 2: And of course I don't stay up on these things,
- 4:28Speaker 2: but it's something that women are interested in, and my
- 4:30Speaker 2: wife told me this today. I love and support my
- 4:33Speaker 2: wife very deeply. I know she wouldn't lie, but.
- 4:37Speaker 1: That is okay, So what the standard operating procedure is
- 4:40Speaker 1: if a couple gets married and they're not together for
- 4:43Speaker 1: six months, they're supposed to return the presence.
- 4:45Speaker 2: That is that is my understanding yet.
- 4:48Speaker 1: But this man's this man's wife died. It's not like
- 4:51Speaker 1: they got a divorce. She died within a month of
- 4:53Speaker 1: an aneurysm.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Okay, it doesn't make any difference. I asked around, and
- 4:59Speaker 2: it doesn't make any difference. If the couple doesn't stay
- 5:02Speaker 2: together within six months of being married, then the wedding
- 5:08Speaker 2: presence revert back to the original purchaser. And we've kept
- 5:15Speaker 2: And that's why you should always keep the receipt on
- 5:17Speaker 2: a wedding present, because well.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It doesn't it seem a little cynical that one is
- 5:21Speaker 1: keeping the receipt on a wedding present in case the
- 5:24Speaker 1: couple gets a divorce.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Not because they get a divorce, because Gill and Hele
- 5:29Speaker 2: had loved each other very very much. But she died.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And this was a brain aneurysm that happened at the
- 5:35Speaker 2: doctor's office. As a matter of fact, she was over
- 5:38Speaker 2: there for a routine physical and the poor woman literally collapsed.
- 5:42Speaker 2: They said it was a brain a.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Blood clot all right, all right, so the wife died,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and would you please give my condolences, by the way,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I certainly will, okay, But the point is that she
- 5:53Speaker 1: died and they didn't get divorced.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And well, when do I get We need to get
- 5:58Speaker 2: the drill back of it.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So you want to get this drill back. You gave
- 6:02Speaker 1: this to him as a wedding present, and.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Phil, I gave it to him as a wedding present
- 6:07Speaker 2: if his wife stayed alive. If they stayed married, they're
- 6:11Speaker 2: no longer married. And standard operating procedure dictates that if
- 6:15Speaker 2: you are not still married six months after you get married,
- 6:21Speaker 2: why then you're not married and you give the present back.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Now that is it?
- 6:26Speaker 3: Does it? Does any of this seem seem a little
- 6:28Speaker 3: cold hearted to you?
- 6:30Speaker 2: Or no, sir, not any more cold hearted than a
- 6:33Speaker 2: woman should have an engagement ring that's worth the gross
- 6:36Speaker 2: of too much salary. All of these things.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, you know, weddings and marriages have all
- 6:40Speaker 1: of these interesting rules. Well look at hold the line
- 6:43Speaker 1: for just a second, Lloyd, while I give out our number.
- 6:45Speaker 1: All right, I'm sorry, hold the line for a second
- 6:47Speaker 1: while I give out our number. A.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Lloyd.
- 6:48Speaker 1: You are saying that Gil and Helen had got you know,
- 6:51Speaker 1: she's dead.
- 6:52Speaker 2: She's dead. She died. She died back in October. She
- 6:56Speaker 2: died actually the end of September.
- 7:00Speaker 3: And they were married less than a month.
- 7:01Speaker 2: No, they were married a little over a month.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And so because they weren't married for six months.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Because they're not married for six months, standard operating procedure
- 7:12Speaker 2: and etiquette dictates that you give the wedding presents back. Now,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I'm not Phil.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Don't you have your own drill? You say you're going
- 7:21Speaker 3: to be putting up some shelves.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I've got a I got an old cord drill, but
- 7:29Speaker 2: this is a Makita cordless and I don't think that
- 7:31Speaker 2: I should have to go out and buy a new
- 7:33Speaker 2: drill when there's a perfectly good Mekda cordless with twenty
- 7:38Speaker 2: drill bed sitting at Gil Daniel's garage.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Eric, have you asked him about this?
- 7:44Speaker 2: I have asked, I will ask you. But he should
- 7:48Speaker 2: know this.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Well, he just lost his wife.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Okay, she died in September. And the etiquette, which is
- 7:56Speaker 2: something that everyone should know.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Well, if you can talk to him about this and say, Gil,
- 8:03Speaker 1: I want my drill back, and it's been uh well.
- 8:08Speaker 2: But I reminded him of this right after she died.
- 8:12Speaker 3: You're kidding.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Why do you say, I'm kidding?
- 8:15Speaker 3: Right right after she died. You brought up the thing.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Right when she died. Yes, I did, Yes, I did,
- 8:21Speaker 2: mister Hendry. Yeah, I'm not well.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Right after the woman died, you went to the man
- 8:26Speaker 1: and said you haven't been What I.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Said was basically, Gil, I'm so very, very deeply sorry
- 8:31Speaker 2: that Helen's dead, But as you know, you haven't been
- 8:34Speaker 2: married six months, so I believe I'm entitled to get
- 8:38Speaker 2: my drill back. And I said it in the most
- 8:41Speaker 2: tasteful way that I can.
- 8:43Speaker 3: What did he say?
- 8:45Speaker 2: He obviously was in shock over the death of his wife.
- 8:49Speaker 2: He didn't He sort of nodded his head. But I
- 8:51Speaker 2: did my part. Now we have been living with this
- 8:55Speaker 2: situation now for the last several months, and I want
- 8:59Speaker 2: to know when he'll have the common decency to give
- 9:01Speaker 2: me the drill back.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Well, you know what, the guy's wife is dead, and
- 9:06Speaker 1: perhaps the shock of this man's wife dying so soon
- 9:09Speaker 1: after they got married is so much that he has
- 9:11Speaker 1: completely forgotten that the etiquette dictates you send a present.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Back, okay, And that's in a lot of ways. Is
- 9:18Speaker 2: what's wrong with our world where people completely forget who
- 9:21Speaker 2: they are and they forget where they are. And I
- 9:25Speaker 2: am sorry about Helen, but I've got to put these
- 9:29Speaker 2: shelves up come springtime because when the summer months arrive,
- 9:34Speaker 2: the wood has begun to contract from all the rains,
- 9:37Speaker 2: it won't so it's a bad time to do any
- 9:40Speaker 2: all improvement.
- 9:41Speaker 3: And hold on, hold on for a minute. Do you
- 9:43Speaker 3: know what this guy's talking about, because I don't know
- 9:44Speaker 3: what he's talking about home improvement.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Okay, So the guy his wife, he wants his drill
- 9:49Speaker 1: back from this dude. It was a wedding present to
- 9:51Speaker 1: a man and his wife. The wife died. Etiquette says
- 9:56Speaker 1: that if a couple doesn't stay together for six months
- 9:58Speaker 1: after the marriage, all the wedding presence get returned. He
- 10:01Speaker 1: wants his makita cordless drill returned to him. I don't
- 10:05Speaker 1: think it's got personally. I don't think it has anything
- 10:07Speaker 1: to do with somebody dying. I thought it was just
- 10:08Speaker 1: if they get a divorce. What's he saying, Oh he's
- 10:12Speaker 1: screaming at you. Phil Henry Show.
- 10:27Speaker 2: No, because I can tell you that Emily Post doesn't
- 10:30Speaker 2: matter whether they're divorced or not. Somebody dies, you get
- 10:33Speaker 2: the gift packet.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Hold on, Phil Henry Show, Lloyd, I don't know whether
- 10:37Speaker 1: what you're telling me is true or not. You're saying
- 10:40Speaker 1: that if even if the person dies, even if.
- 10:42Speaker 2: There's a death. And I will tell you right now
- 10:44Speaker 2: that we thought the world of Helen and I think
- 10:47Speaker 2: Gill's a terrific guy, but she had the Why do
- 10:50Speaker 2: I get punished because she had an aneurism? I don't
- 10:54Speaker 2: think it's fair and we should get our drill back
- 10:57Speaker 2: because she's dead. Well within the six months timeline has
- 11:02Speaker 2: dictated in standard operating procedure. Now I will tell you.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Hold on, we got to take a phone call here,
- 11:08Speaker 1: all right, No, but I wanted to mention. Let me
- 11:11Speaker 1: take a phone call and then get back to your Jackie.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You're on the Phil Henry Show. Hello, Hello, Yes, Hi.
- 11:18Speaker 5: I'm just calling to say that I can't believe what
- 11:20Speaker 5: I'm hearing, whether it's the rule or not. At some
- 11:23Speaker 5: point you got to throw the strange little changing role
- 11:26Speaker 5: of at the window and go with your gun instincts
- 11:29Speaker 5: and common event.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Well, but standard procedure says, if you do stay married
- 11:33Speaker 2: for six months your return, it doesn't matter how you separate.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Well, standard procedure says you got to be a virgin
- 11:39Speaker 5: to mary in white. But you don't always follow that either.
- 11:42Speaker 5: I mean, if these are people you cared about.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Madam, I don't care to discuss your sex life.
- 11:47Speaker 5: If these are people you cared about, I would think
- 11:50Speaker 5: you would be saying to him, maybe we could run
- 11:52Speaker 5: some projects together with this spot, because this must be
- 11:56Speaker 5: a horrible time for you.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Let me expect if I could say something. Phil Helen
- 12:01Speaker 2: had a drinking problem, and it was obvious to all
- 12:04Speaker 2: of us that she was on her way to some
- 12:07Speaker 2: kind of a catastrophe. That's why we only bought the
- 12:10Speaker 2: drill and didn't invest in something a little more expensive.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Oh my god, I mean what we so? In other words,
- 12:19Speaker 1: she looked like she was going to be dead anyway.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So you bought a cheap drill.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And a Akita twenty standard. That's a cordless Mekita drill.
- 12:26Speaker 2: That's a wonderful gift.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Did you give it as a gift?
- 12:30Speaker 2: Though? We with the understanding that within six months if
- 12:35Speaker 2: her liver gave out or some of the things we
- 12:37Speaker 2: thought would be wrong with her. We, you see, don't
- 12:40Speaker 2: be part of the problem. Man, not to be a
- 12:43Speaker 2: part of the solution. I need the drill back mine broke.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'm putting up shelves. My wife's precious moment's figurines are
- 12:51Speaker 2: all in the garage.
- 12:52Speaker 5: But what about your precious friends. Don't you care about
- 12:55Speaker 5: the loss that he's been through and that he could
- 12:58Speaker 5: use you as a friend rather than someone that there's
- 13:01Speaker 5: a rule out there somewhere that says that technically he
- 13:04Speaker 5: should give it back. He probably needs a friend to
- 13:06Speaker 5: come and do a project, all right, and he needs
- 13:08Speaker 5: a bird.
- 13:09Speaker 2: He needs a friend. Guess what I need. I need
- 13:11Speaker 2: a drill. You'll see the street goes both ways.
- 13:15Speaker 1: All right, Look, Jackie, thank you very much. What I'm
- 13:18Speaker 1: getting is you thought she would die.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It was those secret at the Senior Center. She had
- 13:23Speaker 2: a drinking problem.
- 13:24Speaker 3: And so therefore you thought she'd die.
- 13:27Speaker 2: We felt that it was a possibility.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And you went out and bought a cheap wedding gift
- 13:31Speaker 1: in case you were going to get it back.
- 13:33Speaker 2: We went out and got a cheap wedding gift because
- 13:36Speaker 2: we did my wife's precious moments, and my presidential coins
- 13:39Speaker 2: are lying flatted boxes right now. They need to be displayed.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And it's just it's the whole thing here about you
- 13:46Speaker 1: and your freaking Yes, she was gonna die, so let's
- 13:49Speaker 1: go buy a cheap gift.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Victoria on the Phil Henry Show. Hello, Hi, yes, bam.
- 13:55Speaker 6: First thing Emily posts nowhere in Emily Post, and I
- 14:00Speaker 6: it number of times does it say gift?
- 14:04Speaker 2: Back when I was in the navy, I read Emily Post,
- 14:07Speaker 2: and I can tell you it's and and young people
- 14:11Speaker 2: should wear knickers. The drill was wrapped in wedding paper.
- 14:15Speaker 2: If you wrap a gift in wedding paper, the rule applies.
- 14:19Speaker 6: No, no, no no. When you give a gift to someone,
- 14:22Speaker 6: according to Emily Post, you, according to Emily Post, when
- 14:27Speaker 6: you give a gift, you give a gift that is
- 14:30Speaker 6: not something that you're banking on somebody dropping dead, so
- 14:33Speaker 6: that you can get it back if she, if she
- 14:36Speaker 6: had divorced them, then you have cause for complaint. However,
- 14:41Speaker 6: in this case, sir sir, I've been listening to you.
- 14:44Speaker 6: I hope that you would give me the same consideration
- 14:46Speaker 6: Emily Post, although about something like that, right, Okay, thank you,
- 14:52Speaker 6: all right. Now, if you if you wanted the drill,
- 14:55Speaker 6: you should have bought the drill to yourself and then
- 14:56Speaker 6: bought them something cheaper. The gift that you gave was
- 14:59Speaker 6: a bit very nice gift, actually, But if you're thinking
- 15:03Speaker 6: the gift that you gave was very nice. However, if
- 15:06Speaker 6: you are buying it because you're thinking that you're going
- 15:08Speaker 6: to get it back, that's not really a gift.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I don't understand.
- 15:12Speaker 7: Say that again, if you're okay.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Start from the beginning.
- 15:17Speaker 1: What do you mean, start from the beginning. The lady
- 15:19Speaker 1: just did a very nice she described.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Uh.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Look, I'm a United States Navy veteran, mister andry. Please
- 15:25Speaker 2: don't get me angry. Don't get behind.
- 15:29Speaker 6: I don't understand what as.
- 15:32Speaker 2: A veteran of the Korean War nineteen fifty nineteen fifty two.
- 15:36Speaker 2: If you get up into a veteran's face, it's bad.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Oh wait, wait wait wait is this a threat?
- 15:43Speaker 2: Don't I mean? Don't be angry. You wouldn't like me
- 15:46Speaker 2: very much when I get angry.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Well, sir, nobody's really you're you're your proponent. Right now,
- 15:53Speaker 6: I can tell.
- 15:53Speaker 2: You that I did buy the drill for myself. I
- 15:55Speaker 2: was banking on her. The reason why? About the now?
- 15:59Speaker 6: You just said there, you are banking on this woman
- 16:02Speaker 6: to have happened to her?
- 16:04Speaker 3: Oh my god?
- 16:05Speaker 2: What with? Oh so all of a sudden, someone planning
- 16:09Speaker 2: for the future is a bad thing.
- 16:11Speaker 7: You were planning for the future.
- 16:13Speaker 6: You're planning for someone's demise. How sick is that?
- 16:16Speaker 2: All I was trying to do is hedch by Bets.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I said, what you.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Did was if you give a gift to someone, it's
- 16:23Speaker 6: a gift. Just like Jackie said before, it very well
- 16:26Speaker 6: about this, If it's okay, is it something that you
- 16:29Speaker 6: are not expecting back? If you weren't expecting it back,
- 16:33Speaker 6: you should have given him a twenty dollars bill and
- 16:35Speaker 6: a card and said see you later. I want to
- 16:37Speaker 6: drink with it.
- 16:38Speaker 2: We'll wait a second. That's that? Isn't that rude? What's
- 16:41Speaker 2: wrong with me? Getting? Look? I took a look. We
- 16:43Speaker 2: went over to Gil and Helen's before they got married.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I took a good long look at her. We were
- 16:48Speaker 2: in the kitchen and I said to my wife, what
- 16:50Speaker 2: do you think She said, let's go for the drill
- 16:53Speaker 2: because we need that.
- 16:55Speaker 1: What are you and your wife are taking a look
- 16:57Speaker 1: at this poor woman is saying she's not going to
- 16:59Speaker 1: live out the six months period, so we'll get the
- 17:01Speaker 1: gift back.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And if we were going to get the gift back,
- 17:04Speaker 2: why not make it something we'd use.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Okay, one word tacky, tacky?
- 17:09Speaker 2: What's tacky about?
- 17:10Speaker 8: Word tacky?
- 17:11Speaker 1: Well, one word planning ahead and that ain't even one word.
- 17:17Speaker 8: That two words.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I can't hear you, edw's too.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Planning ahead is two words? All right, Look, Victoria, thank
- 17:24Speaker 3: you for your call. I'm glad that you had.
- 17:26Speaker 2: The uh well she had. There was a lot of
- 17:28Speaker 2: gobbled ego? Can it?
- 17:29Speaker 3: She was quoting Emily Post. I don't know what you
- 17:31Speaker 3: want from her? And she was it.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Mister Henry, I'm a United States veteran served in the
- 17:36Speaker 2: United States Navy nineteen fifty nineteen fifty two. I'm a
- 17:40Speaker 2: Korean War veteran. I put my life on the line
- 17:43Speaker 2: for this country that I love dearly, and I will
- 17:46Speaker 2: not be spoken to by you or any of these
- 17:51Speaker 2: blue haired women who seem to think they know all
- 17:55Speaker 2: about the Makida standard cordless twenty drill bit drill. Now
- 17:59Speaker 2: the only thing they know about drilling, Well, there's a
- 18:01Speaker 2: few jokes from the Navy. I could repeat, but sir,
- 18:04Speaker 2: I won't do that. Well, let me tell you something.
- 18:07Speaker 2: The last time any one of them did any drilling,
- 18:09Speaker 2: they had ankles right behind their ears.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Okay, you said you were going to say anything because
- 18:13Speaker 3: you're a gentleman. I am, well you just did. Here
- 18:18Speaker 3: is Lucille on a Phil Henry show. Hello, Yes, this
- 18:23Speaker 3: is Lucille.
- 18:23Speaker 9: Am I aunt?
- 18:25Speaker 2: Are you hello?
- 18:27Speaker 9: I'll tell you one thing. I am a twenty five
- 18:29Speaker 9: year veteran of the Navy. I've never come across us,
- 18:34Speaker 9: never mind is stealthy.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Hello?
- 18:37Speaker 3: Hello, I can't hear can you hear her?
- 18:39Speaker 2: No? Speak up?
- 18:40Speaker 9: Please, I am a twenty five year Navy veteran, and
- 18:46Speaker 9: I have never come across the person in all my life.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I'm a Navy veteran. Well so my.
- 18:56Speaker 9: Husband of twenty five years, and he's never put up
- 18:59Speaker 9: with that.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Terrible branching the surface that your husband in.
- 19:05Speaker 9: She just said her husband and a retired commander from
- 19:08Speaker 9: the grouse throughtop and ill mannered selfis arrogant man and
- 19:16Speaker 9: a wife.
- 19:17Speaker 7: Are you any friends?
- 19:20Speaker 2: What's wrong with your horses? Hold your horses? I gave
- 19:23Speaker 2: him the drill in the off chance she would die.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I didn't water. I didn't nuts. I didn't want to.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I hope that she'd live a long time. I told
- 19:33Speaker 2: Gil before he married her, I don't know how many
- 19:36Speaker 2: more miles she's got on her.
- 19:37Speaker 3: But oh God, you're talking about him.
- 19:39Speaker 9: My goodness.
- 19:41Speaker 2: She looked to me like she all right, can you
- 19:45Speaker 2: hear terrible what? You are?
- 19:47Speaker 9: A terrible person. God's gonna punish you.
- 19:50Speaker 2: What's that God's gonna.
- 19:52Speaker 9: Place you for being an arrogant old?
- 19:55Speaker 1: Uh?
- 19:56Speaker 9: What about would I think you?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Oh? So you called me an asphole? Didn't you know
- 20:01Speaker 2: I called you? I just heard you call me an ahole? No, yes,
- 20:04Speaker 2: you do are a you have you? No, my mind
- 20:10Speaker 2: is not as always.
- 20:11Speaker 9: Huh, because you're looking at people as deaths.
- 20:15Speaker 2: A think. Let me tell you something. I don't get
- 20:18Speaker 2: that drill back, and I'm going to know the reason why.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I'm a guy. I'm a United teens, I was in
- 20:27Speaker 2: the Navy, I was in the Navy.
- 20:31Speaker 9: I'm a sending two year old widow. And I think
- 20:34Speaker 9: you're there.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You didn't do anything to deserve that. You just lived
- 20:38Speaker 2: in the guy that you married died.
- 20:39Speaker 9: Yes, the beautiful death.
- 20:42Speaker 2: God won't punish me. I have the Precious Movement's figurines,
- 20:45Speaker 2: and the President.
- 20:46Speaker 9: Have anything to do with that's mysterialistic.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Have you ever seen the Precious Movement figurines? You can
- 20:51Speaker 2: get them a nostalgia magazine from the Franklin Mint.
- 20:55Speaker 9: But that doesn't matter.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Well, you're a jealouscopers because you don't have any.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Okay, look at are we proving a point here?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that she doesn't have the Precious Movement figure eines,
- 21:05Speaker 2: Phil Henry show.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Crap and you knowing Look and I'm not going to
- 21:17Speaker 3: argue with you off the air about it.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Okay, you respect me for the veteran of the United
- 21:22Speaker 2: States Army, I mean the United States Navy that I am.
- 21:26Speaker 1: That's got nothing to do with you returning. Look at
- 21:29Speaker 1: you gave a wedding gift to two people. The wife
- 21:31Speaker 1: dies within a month of an aneurysm after their wedding,
- 21:34Speaker 1: and you're going through Emily Post and finding that if
- 21:36Speaker 1: a couple doesn't stay together for the first six months
- 21:39Speaker 1: after their marriage, all the wedding gifts get returned.
- 21:43Speaker 2: It's you better ged believe it, mister, and I have
- 21:46Speaker 2: got a lot cleaner mouth, or I use stronger language.
- 21:49Speaker 2: But Gil can't use the drill, so I don't understand
- 21:53Speaker 2: why it doesn't give it back. We can't use it
- 21:55Speaker 2: because he has one win, a hand from World War Two.
- 21:58Speaker 2: He's got severe arthritis in the other. His wife is dead,
- 22:02Speaker 2: so all of her Italian figurines have been put into storage.
- 22:05Speaker 2: All he does is sit and watch television. What's he
- 22:07Speaker 2: gonna do with it?
- 22:08Speaker 3: Good God, almighty?
- 22:09Speaker 1: This poor man world War two veteran, and he sits
- 22:13Speaker 1: and he's lonely and he watches television.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Okay, well, what his wife's dead? So all he does
- 22:19Speaker 2: is sit and eat the food that meals on wheels
- 22:22Speaker 2: breaks him. He's not doing anything. I said, dude, why
- 22:25Speaker 2: don't you get why didn't you come out on outside
- 22:28Speaker 2: and have a beer or something? He said, oh, go
- 22:32Speaker 2: straight to the living hades. So I don't know.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Oh, well, you know what. Being a friend to him
- 22:37Speaker 3: is a nice start.
- 22:38Speaker 1: But you man talking about this guy sitting there missing
- 22:41Speaker 1: his wife. Scott, you're on the Phil Henry Show. Hello, Yes,
- 22:45Speaker 1: oh you know your car phone up? Hold on you there?
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yes, I am okay, go ahead, it's a lot better.
- 22:50Speaker 8: Go on, Yes there, I got a question for this man.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Can you hear me?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Okay, this time I can hear you. Can you hear him?
- 22:56Speaker 1: Mister Bonify? Are you there?
- 22:58Speaker 8: Yes, sir, okay, why did you go to the wedding
- 23:01Speaker 8: in the first place if you expected this lady to die?
- 23:04Speaker 2: We went to the wedding to celebrate the betrothal of
- 23:07Speaker 2: two people that we enjoyed very very much. There's nothing
- 23:11Speaker 2: unusual about that.
- 23:12Speaker 8: No, but you thought that she was gonna die because
- 23:14Speaker 8: you bought the jill for yourself.
- 23:15Speaker 2: We thought that she might have an opportunity of dying. Yes,
- 23:21Speaker 2: you know what, lot of people need to understand how
- 23:24Speaker 2: these things work. We know their out and spend money.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I'm a United States Navy veteran, Sir, sir.
- 23:32Speaker 8: I'm a United States officer in the Navy.
- 23:35Speaker 2: You're in the Navy right now? Yes, you guys. What
- 23:38Speaker 2: are you guys doing sitting there out and playing rubber
- 23:41Speaker 2: ducky in the bathtub?
- 23:43Speaker 8: Are you putting down the United States Navy that you?
- 23:47Speaker 2: Let me tell you this, the peacetime boys and the
- 23:49Speaker 2: wartime boys think there's a little bit of a difference there.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Oh, Can we stop all right talking about whether or
- 23:54Speaker 1: not you guys are what what was the point of
- 23:56Speaker 1: your call.
- 23:57Speaker 8: Here, Scott, I I just couldn't believe that this man
- 24:00Speaker 8: would actually.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Call in and are you do you know that you're
- 24:05Speaker 2: supposed to give a wedding gift back in the first
- 24:07Speaker 2: six months if your wife and you are no longer married.
- 24:09Speaker 8: Did you know that you're not supposed to interrupt somebody,
- 24:11Speaker 8: because that's not very etiquette either.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Very good point, very very good point, Scott.
- 24:16Speaker 8: If you can interrupt me, then I guess he doesn't
- 24:18Speaker 8: have to give the drill back to you, does he not.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I have a United States Radia.
- 24:22Speaker 3: We got that.
- 24:23Speaker 8: I don't care if you're not at the United States Marine.
- 24:26Speaker 8: That doesn't matter.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I'm not a United States Marine. I'm the guy that
- 24:29Speaker 2: gives him a ride in the boat.
- 24:30Speaker 8: The issue here is a drill in in what the
- 24:34Speaker 8: rule is. It doesn't matter if you're in the Navy.
- 24:36Speaker 8: It doesn't matter. If you're a Christian, it just does
- 24:38Speaker 8: not matter.
- 24:40Speaker 2: It doesn't have matter. I don't have much truck with Christians.
- 24:43Speaker 8: Well I can tell you're not.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Okay, I wouldn't have much.
- 24:46Speaker 8: We're not here to judge people, so we're not gonna
- 24:48Speaker 8: talk about that.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Tony's if you ask me all right, get just move
- 24:51Speaker 1: on to the whole drill thing.
- 24:53Speaker 2: You do much drilling, Scott? Yeah, I don't want to
- 24:55Speaker 2: answer that one, do you?
- 24:57Speaker 8: No, I will answer that question. I do a heck
- 24:59Speaker 8: of a lot of drilling. Yes, I do.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Yeah, boys or girls?
- 25:03Speaker 1: Okay, if you don't want to grow up and be
- 25:05Speaker 1: an adult, I'm hanging up on you.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Huh, sir?
- 25:08Speaker 8: How old are you?
- 25:10Speaker 2: Sir? I am sixty nine years of age. I entered
- 25:13Speaker 2: the United States Navy I was eighteen years old, and
- 25:17Speaker 2: I've probably served this country. And now this son of
- 25:19Speaker 2: a bitch you're.
- 25:20Speaker 8: Still at the maturity of that eighteen year old. So
- 25:22Speaker 8: you didn't grow up too much in the navy.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Absolutely, this son of a bitch, Gill Daniels, that drill
- 25:29Speaker 1: kipe and mother and all right, look at Scott. Thank
- 25:32Speaker 1: you so much for your call. I appreciate it. What
- 25:34Speaker 1: do you want me to do here? What are you asking?
- 25:36Speaker 2: I am making a public appeal to Guil Daniels. Give
- 25:40Speaker 2: my drill back, give it back, and don't be the
- 25:45Speaker 2: sob that you and I both know you really are.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Because I've played this guy in poker, and I've shared
- 25:52Speaker 2: more than a couple of belts of Johnny Walker red
- 25:54Speaker 2: with him, and he's a miserable piece of garbage. I
- 25:58Speaker 2: love him and I love him, dear, I.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Don't even know who he is. I hope that he
- 26:02Speaker 3: is listening to this if I drive back or.
- 26:05Speaker 2: I'll see him on the other side of the river sticks.
- 26:09Speaker 3: That's a death threat. That's a death threat.
- 26:12Speaker 2: No, it's just that we'll both die someday and I'll
- 26:14Speaker 2: see him over there.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Just man, Pat, you're on the Phil Henry Show. Hello, Pat, Yes,
- 26:22Speaker 1: go ahead, ma'am.
- 26:23Speaker 7: I'm just amazed that this man is the most hateful,
- 26:27Speaker 7: nasty man I've ever met in my life, or or
- 26:29Speaker 7: had the opportunity to listen to.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Emily Post had a good dictates. I don't know how
- 26:35Speaker 2: many times you want me to say it, Well, do
- 26:37Speaker 2: you have.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Any compassion for a man whose wife has died?
- 26:40Speaker 2: None? For this gentleman.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Do you have any compassion for a man whose wife
- 26:44Speaker 1: is in the ground?
- 26:45Speaker 3: Lloyd and he absolutely.
- 26:46Speaker 7: I work with Geriatrix and for this man for anything
- 26:50Speaker 7: in the world.
- 26:51Speaker 2: He's asking me, he's not asking. You must have.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Been in the service as a swabby, because an officer
- 26:57Speaker 7: would be a gentleman.
- 26:59Speaker 1: You must have been some kind of a swabi in
- 27:01Speaker 1: the navy. What was your rank?
- 27:03Speaker 2: I was a chief Petty officer.
- 27:05Speaker 3: I worked for a living well whatever that is.
- 27:07Speaker 2: That's a sergeant.
- 27:08Speaker 7: Well, sir, apparently you lost your mind when you were
- 27:11Speaker 7: a chief petty officer.
- 27:13Speaker 2: What exactly am I doing wrong? Here?
- 27:15Speaker 7: Tell me you're just you're just a very nasty individual.
- 27:19Speaker 7: You just have a growth personality. You're you're very selfish,
- 27:23Speaker 7: You're very hateful.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Other than that, other than that, you know you promisariously
- 27:28Speaker 2: are you single?
- 27:30Speaker 7: Am I single? Nurser?
- 27:31Speaker 2: Well?
- 27:32Speaker 7: You know and my and my husband works for Walter
- 27:34Speaker 7: Reed Army Hospital, and uh he is a gentleman and
- 27:38Speaker 7: he would never do this anyone.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you I'm going over there to bush
- 27:41Speaker 2: down his garage door. I'm goodness that what's he doing?
- 27:44Speaker 3: Now?
- 27:46Speaker 2: The other thing?
- 27:47Speaker 7: You'll let's just not have a heart attack when you
- 27:49Speaker 7: do that.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Maybe that's what you do when you're go ahead, last
- 27:53Speaker 2: Daniels could use a little piece.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Yeah, where are you going?
- 28:00Speaker 2: I'm going over to.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Where you're going?
- 28:03Speaker 2: Man, I'm going over to girls house.
- 28:06Speaker 3: You're going to Gil's house?
- 28:11Speaker 2: All right? This is garage door right here.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Don't do it, man, I got right here. Hey man,
- 28:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna call the cops. I'm calling the cops. If
- 28:22Speaker 3: you're busting his garage door down?
- 28:24Speaker 2: The the hell are you wing? Can I tell you that?
- 28:30Speaker 3: Mike? Call it? Call a cop?
- 28:32Speaker 2: Since good damn it?
- 28:38Speaker 3: What's your language? What are you doing? Man?
- 28:48Speaker 2: I'm running? Why it's dog got out?

- 29:06Speaker 2: Huh? All right?
- 29:08Speaker 3: Look at that nutcase. Do you have his number? You
- 29:10Speaker 3: have his return number? Don't you do me a favor?
- 29:12Speaker 1: Don't call the cops, call his house and tell his
- 29:15Speaker 1: wife what he's been doing. This guy is trying to
- 29:19Speaker 1: bust into his neighbor's garage and get his drill back
- 29:21Speaker 1: because the man didn't. He's back, Get him back, get
