- 0:29Speaker 2: in on the action. We got two great interviews. The
- 0:32Speaker 2: first one we'll talk inn ils. The second one we'll
- 0:35Speaker 2: talk baseball and basketball. But I want to start with
- 0:39Speaker 2: Tiger Woods, which, by the way, we do this show
- 0:42Speaker 2: in the studio. We do the radio show, but Eddie's
- 0:44Speaker 2: still working in here, and Eddie joins us later as well, accidentally.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Because I'm in and out.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah you know, yeah, but I guess before I get
- 0:51Speaker 2: the Tiger, I want to ask you a question because
- 0:53Speaker 2: I got a DM from somebody and I want to
- 0:55Speaker 2: know how.
- 0:55Speaker 4: You feel about it.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I heard on twenty five Whistles today that
- 0:59Speaker 2: you're going, of course, is closed. My club is closed
- 1:02Speaker 2: because they're like literally tearing the course up building a
- 1:05Speaker 2: new one. I'm the food and beverage director and executive chef.
- 1:09Speaker 2: At should I say where it?
- 1:11Speaker 4: Does it matter? Nashville?
- 1:12Speaker 2: I'll just said Nashville Golf and Athletic Club. We are
- 1:16Speaker 2: down the road and we'd love to have you and
- 1:18Speaker 2: Eddie out for golf and lunch. I will pull some
- 1:21Speaker 2: strings to get y'all out. It would be an honor
- 1:24Speaker 2: for me. Been listening to you guys as I started
- 1:25Speaker 2: my my chef career in Vegas back in twenty ten.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Hit me up for a tea time.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And then she says there are some other I say other,
- 1:34Speaker 2: there are actual famous people that play there too. Uh,
- 1:36Speaker 2: come on out coming to the clubhouse. I want to
- 1:38Speaker 2: make you and Eddie some good grub. Let's go, dang dude,
- 1:42Speaker 2: let's do it.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:42Speaker 2: The question is do we I always am weird about
- 1:45Speaker 2: calling people and taking them up on stuff.
- 1:47Speaker 6: Sure, so am I. But it's golf though. I mean
- 1:50Speaker 6: I think I'm more like that with a lot of things.
- 1:52Speaker 6: But when it comes to golf, absolutely, I'm in food.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it's food, right, But again, there's a chef, and
- 1:56Speaker 2: then do we know that they could get us? Is
- 1:58Speaker 2: this something that you would like to be a I
- 2:02Speaker 2: don't like telling people. Yes, i'd like your free stuff.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I have real issues with that, just from obviously childhood trauma.
- 2:09Speaker 2: But if you think this is something we should pursue
- 2:12Speaker 2: and it won't be awkward, is that something you want
- 2:14Speaker 2: to do?
- 2:15Speaker 6: You know what, I've never played that course, I've never eaten.
- 2:17Speaker 6: That's a factor. Hey, I've never eaten at that restaurant.
- 2:20Speaker 6: I would love to see what it's all about over there.
- 2:22Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Well, then I think I will send you.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Oh you want me to do the talking?
- 2:30Speaker 4: I'm not doing the talking.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yes, can I get one of my kids to do
- 2:33Speaker 3: the talking?
- 2:34Speaker 2: I would just go ooh, thank you, but I don't
- 2:37Speaker 2: want to. I want to bother you put you out?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Oh okay, that.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Would be my and I just wouldn't. I did respond,
- 2:43Speaker 2: So I have the message here, and so I will
- 2:46Speaker 2: send it to you and have the number and everything.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Wait, so you've already responded. What did you say? Did
- 2:53Speaker 6: you say like I said, to think about it?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yes, I said, if I know, Eddie will want to
- 2:58Speaker 2: take you up on that, And you do know? And
- 3:02Speaker 2: then she said, I left my cell on the twenty
- 3:03Speaker 2: five whistles message board, and I said, there's a message
- 3:05Speaker 2: board wait, where is that? She said, I message to
- 3:08Speaker 2: twenty five whistles page. I was trying to catch your attention.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Left it there, but I have her number here. Do
- 3:12Speaker 2: you want to call.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Her like me personally?
- 3:15Speaker 7: Not right?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:16Speaker 4: No, yes, you of course you.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I mean, why am I doing this?
- 3:18Speaker 2: She messaged you yes, but she said to you as well,
- 3:21Speaker 2: and she went hit twenty five whistles and I don't
- 3:24Speaker 2: feel comfortable doing it.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Should we go middle school and do it three way?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Nope?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Well okay, no, no.
- 3:28Speaker 6: No, no, no, no, no no, Kevin, don't understand now to stop. No no, no,
- 3:31Speaker 6: you're too young to know what that means. No, it's
- 3:33Speaker 6: not what you think it means. It means you just
- 3:35Speaker 6: get on the phone like three of us and talk.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I know, okay, I know you have to go.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Uh huh? So should we do that?
- 3:42Speaker 7: No?
- 3:42Speaker 2: I have no, I will feel awkward. You can be
- 3:46Speaker 2: the point person if you feel like we should go.
- 3:49Speaker 2: If not, I'm cool not going. I just feel like
- 3:51Speaker 2: I'm putting somebody out. Dude, free golf, free lunch. We
- 3:53Speaker 2: have to take her up on this. I just sent
- 3:54Speaker 2: you the number. Okay, go call her now, right now
- 3:57Speaker 2: if you want to.
- 4:00Speaker 6: I'm gonna do any I don't want to do. I'm
- 4:02Speaker 6: like you, I don't like doing this stuff at all.
- 4:03Speaker 6: Do I like free golf? Absolutely? Do I like doing
- 4:06Speaker 6: all that set up stuff?
- 4:07Speaker 5: No?
- 4:07Speaker 3: I hate it.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Check it out school. I'll get someone else to do it.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But it's not about somebody else. I think either you
- 4:15Speaker 2: or I should do it or we shouldn't do it.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And I don't want to do it.
- 4:17Speaker 8: Yeah, oh no, dude, it's free golf and it's one
- 4:19Speaker 8: phone call.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Then you do it, Kevin, I didn't get invited, and
- 4:22Speaker 2: I'm a whimp. I just feel weird. But I would
- 4:25Speaker 2: do it. If you like you're running it, I'll be
- 4:26Speaker 2: happy to do it. But I would not make the
- 4:27Speaker 2: call because I don't want to put anybody out.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah I know, I know.
- 4:30Speaker 2: And also it's like, hey, we like to come. Can
- 4:33Speaker 2: we get a tea time? Well, we can only play it.
- 4:35Speaker 2: We only have certain amounts times we can play.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Right, all right, let me let me call her up, feel.
- 4:40Speaker 6: It out and see how it goes, okay, let us know, okay,
- 4:42Speaker 6: all right, talking about golf.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I wanted to start with this earlier today. This was
- 4:48Speaker 2: this was not today, but Tiger wrote this as a statement.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Earlier today, Tiger Woods underwent a sub taller fusion procedure
- 4:55Speaker 2: to address this post traumatic arthritis from his previous talis fracture.
- 4:58Speaker 2: A lot of words, I don't know what they mean.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I figure they're all bones and parts of foot.
- 5:02Speaker 9: Hello is something? Rather.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It was performed by doctor Martin O'Malley at HSS Sports
- 5:06Speaker 2: Medicine Institute in New York City. He has determined the
- 5:09Speaker 2: surgery to be successful. Tiger is currently recovering it looks
- 5:11Speaker 2: forward to beginning his rehabilitation. So I just wanted to
- 5:14Speaker 2: start with I'm now starting to feel like Tiger won't
- 5:17Speaker 2: set the record and beat Jack Nicholas. I always felt
- 5:20Speaker 2: like he had it in him. I always felt like
- 5:22Speaker 2: Tiger could scrape one or two together. I mean, Phil
- 5:25Speaker 2: has won in his fifties. You know, there are guys
- 5:28Speaker 2: who every once in a while, an old timer comes
- 5:30Speaker 2: and sneaks to one of the majors. If the course
- 5:32Speaker 2: plays just right, they hit just right, the conditions are good.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I always felt like Tiger could kind of grind out
- 5:37Speaker 2: two or three. I don't feel that way anymore though,
- 5:40Speaker 2: because of all of the physical especially from the.
- 5:43Speaker 8: Car wreck that I think that was what did it.
- 5:46Speaker 8: He's not gonna be the same, won't be the same.
- 5:48Speaker 8: It's one thing after another once a year. It almost
- 5:50Speaker 8: seems like he's recovering from this surgery from this.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Makes me sad, very makes me sad because Tiger was
- 5:57Speaker 2: is I think the best golfer of all time m hm.
- 6:00Speaker 2: And we're not gonna get to see Hi breaking record.
- 6:02Speaker 2: He probably would have easily broken. Well, he was getting
- 6:06Speaker 2: on with a lot. Yeah, he had some other deals
- 6:08Speaker 2: going that caused a bunch of this too. Yeah, you know,
- 6:12Speaker 2: he's doing with much chicks. But so much has happened
- 6:15Speaker 2: since then, you almost forget about. That's what the first
- 6:18Speaker 2: thing was. Yeah, the first thing we heard about it
- 6:20Speaker 2: was his wife comes out and busts the back glass
- 6:23Speaker 2: him trying to drive away in the SEV Yeah, and
- 6:25Speaker 2: we're like, wait, what can you forget that? Like six
- 6:27Speaker 2: months of media was all about Yeah. I used to
- 6:31Speaker 2: work at Perkins and ibang Tyler or Tiger Yeah, and
- 6:35Speaker 2: one after an Athletes when we were coming out like
- 6:37Speaker 2: crazy and in a weird the story that came out
- 6:40Speaker 2: recently for the woman that's suing him, that she's doing
- 6:45Speaker 2: it for a whole crazy amount of money. But it
- 6:47Speaker 2: was she wouldn't leave his house.
- 6:48Speaker 3: This is what we heard.
- 6:49Speaker 10: We heard that.
- 6:51Speaker 4: She wouldn't leave his house. So he told her they
- 6:53Speaker 4: were going on vacation.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So the car took her to the airport and this
- 6:55Speaker 2: just dropped off and they locked all the doors so
- 6:57Speaker 2: she couldn't get back in.
- 6:58Speaker 4: That's hardcore.
- 6:59Speaker 2: That's a hardcore because if she wouldn't leave, that's that's
- 7:04Speaker 2: pretty strategic. And I can't imagine I wouldn't want to
- 7:08Speaker 2: leave if I had the lifestyle. And I remember seeing
- 7:11Speaker 2: her with's Tiger though when they were together. She was
- 7:13Speaker 2: like at tournaments with them, should be walking around on
- 7:17Speaker 2: the courses, yeaeah, But apparently she she was everywhere with them.
- 7:21Speaker 9: You never know what's going on behind the doors, off
- 7:23Speaker 9: the course.
- 7:24Speaker 2: They had to go, Hey, Tiger really wants to take
- 7:26Speaker 2: you on a vacation, So get in the car. Get
- 7:28Speaker 2: all your bags. No, get all your stuff. But I
- 7:30Speaker 2: don't need all my stuff. I'm just going for two weeks. Now,
- 7:32Speaker 2: I go ahead and get it all everything. Yeah, get
- 7:34Speaker 2: everything everything. Who knows how long you'll be in the
- 7:37Speaker 2: standbull or wherever they're going.
- 7:38Speaker 9: Yeah, got your bed too, and like.
- 7:41Speaker 2: They're taking her to the airport. But I don't think
- 7:43Speaker 2: they took well, this way is not the way to
- 7:45Speaker 2: the airport.
- 7:47Speaker 4: No, it's another way.
- 7:48Speaker 2: You know. That's another one, the private one. Obviously you're
- 7:51Speaker 2: going to a different terminology. He's a Tiger's own hanger.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Come on, no, but I've been to that hanger.
- 7:56Speaker 7: It's a new one.
- 7:56Speaker 4: It's a new one.
- 7:57Speaker 9: It's Tiger.
- 7:59Speaker 4: And then lock all the doors in case she comes back.
- 8:02Speaker 7: That's awesome.
- 8:03Speaker 2: In case she comes back, though, that's the crazy thing. Again,
- 8:06Speaker 2: this we just heard the story. It's not They just
- 8:08Speaker 2: got her out of there and said, okay, you're not
- 8:09Speaker 2: allowed to come back or we will presh charges or trespassing.
- 8:12Speaker 2: They got her out of there and then physically lock
- 8:14Speaker 2: the doors. I need to see like a ring camera
- 8:17Speaker 2: of this. If she came back. Can she's dressed like
- 8:20Speaker 2: a pizza man turned to trick her way back in dominos?
- 8:23Speaker 9: We didn't order to pet the Yes you did.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I'm sad because I did feel like Tiger could do it.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I think we got to watch the greatest golfer of
- 8:31Speaker 2: all time in our generation. We have a few athletes
- 8:33Speaker 2: that are that are that that are him, that are her.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You can put him on a hand. You got Jordan,
- 8:39Speaker 2: although you didn't get to watch Jordan that much, did you?
- 8:41Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 8:41Speaker 9: No, I didn't so upset about that.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I was young.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I did so I got to watch Jordan, got to
- 8:46Speaker 2: watch Tiger, got to watch Serena.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Who else would you put in that?
- 8:50Speaker 7: Come on?
- 8:51Speaker 4: You know who we're missing Tom Brady obviously, yes.
- 8:54Speaker 9: I got to watch him, yeah a lot. Yeah, but who.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Then there's borderline, Like borderline are people like Lebron, Kobe
- 9:03Speaker 2: Shack and those three aren't even the same. But I
- 9:05Speaker 2: mean probably Lebron and Kobe would be there, Lebron more
- 9:09Speaker 2: than Kobe. I'm gonna put Lebron in that as my fifth.
- 9:13Speaker 2: If we're doing athletes that are generational that change the
- 9:17Speaker 2: way of sport is played, I think you have to
- 9:21Speaker 2: put those five from our sports. I don't know anything
- 9:24Speaker 2: about hockey.
- 9:25Speaker 9: Steph's right there too, just because he changed the game.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I don't think Steph, though, is a pop culture phenomenon
- 9:32Speaker 2: outside of being big in sports. He's doing something, He's
- 9:36Speaker 2: out there a little bit, but I don't think he's
- 9:38Speaker 2: that to the level of a Lebron who changed Lebron
- 9:42Speaker 2: might have been the first high school player that were
- 9:43Speaker 2: showing his games on ESPN. Yeah, he was on the
- 9:44Speaker 2: front Sports Illustrated as a high school kid. So as
- 9:48Speaker 2: of now, I'm gonna sit with that because in just
- 9:50Speaker 2: second we're gonna get to the title.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Tittle.
- 9:52Speaker 2: But let's see, I'm gonna go Lebron Jordan basketball, football,
- 9:56Speaker 2: Tom Brady. I think like a Peyton Manning and a
- 9:59Speaker 2: Shack and Kobe are like the same.
- 10:01Speaker 4: They're just right there close, but they ain't exactly that.
- 10:03Speaker 2: What puts Tom Brady there is the list of championship
- 10:06Speaker 2: years he has, right, Yeah, so Lebron, Tom Brady, Serena Williams. Obviously,
- 10:12Speaker 2: Michael Jordan's baseball wise, I know I'm trying to think
- 10:14Speaker 2: of like Mike trouton No, I mean, as great as
- 10:16Speaker 2: he is, I know that nobody really does in baseball.
- 10:18Speaker 8: He plays for the Angels, they don't win. He's just
- 10:20Speaker 8: not relevant when it really matters. And then you got
- 10:22Speaker 8: to think maybe Geter.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I guess, big winner, but I don't know that is
- 10:25Speaker 2: that like change the game. But those that's who we're
- 10:28Speaker 2: settling with today. Those five already forgot him. So Lebron,
- 10:33Speaker 2: let's do basketball first, so just so I can remember
- 10:35Speaker 2: Lebron and Jordan and basketball in football, Tom Brady in tennis,
- 10:39Speaker 2: Serena Williams.
- 10:40Speaker 9: Three.
- 10:41Speaker 2: There are a lot of tennis guys though that are
- 10:43Speaker 2: pretty equal ish. But I'm that are great, the greatest ever,
- 10:46Speaker 2: but they've all been like trading places. Djokovic probably now
- 10:49Speaker 2: Federer at all?
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 10:52Speaker 4: Is that is this four?
- 10:53Speaker 2: I just do four?
- 10:54Speaker 4: I forget one.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Kobe, Well, somebody got liminated about that's that jobs baby?
- 10:58Speaker 2: About soccer, I don't enough about it. I can only
- 11:00Speaker 2: do the sports that I know. About David Beckham, I
- 11:03Speaker 2: don't think no. I think he was a really good
- 11:05Speaker 2: looking guy and he's a really good player on the
- 11:07Speaker 2: biggest team in close your icon though, but later though Gretzky.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Gretzky probably in hockey, but I don't know. If about soccer, Mike,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I would say more than Beckham would be if I
- 11:18Speaker 2: were just guessing, like a Ronaldo or a Messy. But
- 11:23Speaker 2: I don't have the context to know that next level
- 11:25Speaker 2: because I don't watch enough. Anyway, enough about that, it's
- 11:28Speaker 2: time for the tittle Tattle.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Time to put his name ever the tittle Tattle.
- 11:37Speaker 8: In honor of Draymond Green stomping this week? Who is
- 11:40Speaker 8: your favorite sports villain of all time?
- 11:42Speaker 2: By the way, Draymond Green got screwed. That should have
- 11:45Speaker 2: just been a flagrant. His folk was held. We've seen
- 11:48Speaker 2: it a thousand times. His history got him. He got
- 11:51Speaker 2: bit by the history bug. Justice for Draymond Green. Also
- 11:55Speaker 2: like Draymond Green, so that's probably why. But man, it
- 11:57Speaker 2: did look brutal, did it right? Like when it happened,
- 11:59Speaker 2: it looked brutal. Look like he was step on his heart.
- 12:01Speaker 2: He's trying to stomp his heart out. Oh yeah, but
- 12:03Speaker 2: then you see his foot was grad Listen. Did he
- 12:05Speaker 2: probably do it? Yes, yes, he went harder than he
- 12:07Speaker 2: had to. Absolutely, But he didn't just see him on
- 12:10Speaker 2: the ground and go stomp on his chest. That's all
- 12:11Speaker 2: I want to say. He didn't ask me that question,
- 12:12Speaker 2: but I feel like I need to say that clarification. Yes,
- 12:15Speaker 2: So best sports villains of all time? Number one to
- 12:18Speaker 2: me is the Houston Astros. Those cheating suckers beaten on
- 12:21Speaker 2: trash cans. They cheated, they cheated, and then they didn't
- 12:26Speaker 2: even have to serve the consequences. They didn't even have
- 12:28Speaker 2: to do jail time because COVID hit and they got
- 12:31Speaker 2: to play the empty stadiums when people weren' booing him
- 12:32Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 12:34Speaker 4: The Astros hate him, I still hold it agains him.
- 12:38Speaker 4: It's not in the same team. What were you gonna say.
- 12:40Speaker 9: I was gonna say.
- 12:41Speaker 8: It didn't even help that they won the World Series
- 12:42Speaker 8: last year without all that.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Not the same team. There are a couple of players,
- 12:47Speaker 2: but the Astros. To me, during that time, I hated him.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I still feel not positive about him, but I also
- 12:53Speaker 2: realized it's not the same. But yeah, the Astros, for me,
- 12:56Speaker 2: that's a bad one. Next up, I'd put Duke Duke basketball,
- 12:59Speaker 2: and I'm going organizations here first. Before I get to
- 13:01Speaker 2: a few players. Here's why people don't like Duke one.
- 13:05Speaker 2: We hate him because we ain't him.
- 13:07Speaker 4: They won. They won, They freaking won, and they're.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Rich school, and they presented themselves mostly they always had
- 13:16Speaker 2: like a guy that you didn't like. They always had
- 13:19Speaker 2: like a bad guy on the bad guy team, so
- 13:22Speaker 2: you already had a reason not to like him.
- 13:24Speaker 4: They felt a little duck up.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You knew they were kind of rich and they won
- 13:28Speaker 2: and all that didn't But then when you would add
- 13:30Speaker 2: somebody like Grayson Allen. Yeah, it's like you just want
- 13:36Speaker 2: to plutch him in the face. And if he played
- 13:37Speaker 2: for you loved and played against you hated him. So
- 13:40Speaker 2: Duke pops on my list at number two. When it
- 13:43Speaker 2: comes to villains, a Rod hate him. There just doesn't
- 13:49Speaker 2: seem to be a quality about him as a person
- 13:51Speaker 2: that you like. And he got busted for the for
- 13:53Speaker 2: the juice. He did get busted, right, Yeah, okay, making
- 13:57Speaker 2: sure I knew, we knew he needed a Rod big
- 14:00Speaker 2: villain to o ended up being a pretty big, big
- 14:03Speaker 2: villain for a while.
- 14:05Speaker 4: He was a hero too.
- 14:06Speaker 3: For a while.
- 14:07Speaker 9: I actually liked him.
- 14:07Speaker 4: You lived long enough as a hero. Eventually he'll be
- 14:09Speaker 4: a villain.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Floyd Mayweather, anybody that takes the money and puts it
- 14:14Speaker 2: out It is like, this is my million dollars in
- 14:15Speaker 2: a suitcase, look at it on Instagram. They just become
- 14:17Speaker 2: someone that doesn't like because and they know it and
- 14:20Speaker 2: they're like they're encouraging it to happen. But I would
- 14:23Speaker 2: say those are the big villains when that comes to mind,
- 14:26Speaker 2: what about you?
- 14:27Speaker 8: Mine would be that I like though kind of flipping
- 14:30Speaker 8: this would be a Randy Moss.
- 14:32Speaker 9: He comes to mind.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I like Randy Moss. He pulled his pants down,
- 14:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, but they weren't real pants, they were airpants. Yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 2: and he was always like he moved everybody with air exactly. Yes,
- 14:40Speaker 2: and he was fun to watch.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Yeah, Randy Moss is awesome.
- 14:42Speaker 9: Alan Iverson Yeah I.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Liked a I too. Yeah, cool, cool.
- 14:46Speaker 8: He rubbed people the wrong way a little bit. And
- 14:48Speaker 8: then this one you're really not gonna like. But Brooks Koepka.
- 14:51Speaker 8: I like Brooks Kepka. Yeah, he's a villain to me,
- 14:55Speaker 8: like in my general life. I watched them on I
- 14:57Speaker 8: don't know, I watch them on Netflix. I never had
- 15:01Speaker 8: a feeling about him really, except he'd win.
- 15:04Speaker 4: He'd be like, oh, look at the muscular guy.
- 15:06Speaker 2: He's kind of like the football player Jock who now
- 15:09Speaker 2: wins a golf and you just go, I'm jealous because
- 15:11Speaker 2: I ain't that.
- 15:12Speaker 4: But then you watch him on full swing and you're like, no,
- 15:14Speaker 4: I don't like him as well.
- 15:16Speaker 2: So yeah, and then he's joined liv. I mean it
- 15:18Speaker 2: all just kind of matched up with Bruce Kaprika. But yes,
- 15:21Speaker 2: great villains, all all right. Next going to the next one.
- 15:24Speaker 8: Jalen Hurts just got a two hundred and fifty five
- 15:26Speaker 8: million dollar contract. If you were to get that contract,
- 15:28Speaker 8: what's the first thing you would buy?
- 15:30Speaker 2: Well, two hundred and fifty five millions. So he's not
- 15:33Speaker 2: gonna get all that. Obviously, he's gonna get a lot,
- 15:35Speaker 2: don't get me wrong. But if I were doing the
- 15:37Speaker 2: quick math here, he so he's gonna get about probably
- 15:39Speaker 2: like one hundred and ten million dollars once all his
- 15:41Speaker 2: agent fees, once the taxes are taken out. So let's say,
- 15:45Speaker 2: let's say a hundred and fifteen million, I buy a jet.
- 15:48Speaker 2: That's really what I would buy. I buy jet you
- 15:51Speaker 2: could get. They're expensive to have and keeping a hanger
- 15:55Speaker 2: and a fun and pilot. But if I got one
- 15:59Speaker 2: hundred fifty million from that deal, and I'm getting other
- 16:01Speaker 2: money coming in too, obviously from other places as well, I.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Get a jet, like twenty million.
- 16:05Speaker 9: How big of a jet? Can twenty million?
- 16:07Speaker 3: How big?
- 16:08Speaker 2: You get a good eight seater eight to ten seater?
- 16:11Speaker 2: Immediately that'd be my big thing. I'll go and I
- 16:13Speaker 2: would get.
- 16:14Speaker 4: A jet that'd be so sick. Oh yeah, that's it.
- 16:17Speaker 2: That's the only answer I have because I give me
- 16:19Speaker 2: one hundred million right now. First thing I'm gona do
- 16:21Speaker 2: give all you guys or nothing and get me a jet.
- 16:24Speaker 2: All right?
- 16:24Speaker 9: Can we go on the jets?
- 16:25Speaker 7: Yeah, you can go on the jet, all right.
- 16:26Speaker 8: Next out, With the major rule changes going on in
- 16:29Speaker 8: the MLB, what does one more rule change you would
- 16:31Speaker 8: like to see any sport?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Have I've mentioned this before.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I think it is bizarre that in the NBA, I
- 16:38Speaker 2: make a great pass and you go up and you
- 16:40Speaker 2: get fouled after I made that great pass, and then
- 16:43Speaker 2: you make your free throws that I don't get an assist.
- 16:47Speaker 4: You didn't even get.
- 16:47Speaker 7: To the line.
- 16:48Speaker 4: You won't even got to the line if I wouldn't.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Give you that great pass or got the shot, and
- 16:51Speaker 2: you probably would have made it otherwise. If I make
- 16:54Speaker 2: a great pay, if I'm John Stockton, I see karmelone
- 16:56Speaker 2: cutting boom back door, he goes up, boh, foul, he
- 17:02Speaker 2: goes to makes his free throws, I should get an assist.
- 17:04Speaker 2: I set all that up. I assisted those points. I
- 17:07Speaker 2: think it is it's just bizarre there is no assist
- 17:09Speaker 2: given at that time. I don't even think that was
- 17:11Speaker 2: that crazy. I don't even know if that one's ever
- 17:13Speaker 2: been discussed, and if it hasn't why hasn't it been,
- 17:16Speaker 2: because that's amazing.
- 17:17Speaker 9: I like that one.
- 17:17Speaker 4: The other one would be.
- 17:18Speaker 2: In college basketball, when they do the playing games, they
- 17:23Speaker 2: should only be teams that.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Are at large bids.
- 17:26Speaker 2: You know, they have the sixty four, then they have
- 17:28Speaker 2: sixty eight, and then they play into the sixty four
- 17:32Speaker 2: and they have those those terrible games early in the
- 17:34Speaker 2: week that nobody wants to play. Then you're tired by
- 17:35Speaker 2: the time you have to go play the one seed. Anyway,
- 17:38Speaker 2: if you win your conference and you get into the tournament,
- 17:42Speaker 2: you should be able to get into the tournament. Like
- 17:44Speaker 2: you won your conference, you should have a spot to
- 17:46Speaker 2: play in the NCAA tournament. The only teams that should
- 17:50Speaker 2: play the play in games are at large teams. If
- 17:53Speaker 2: you're going to make them the two eleven seeds and
- 17:55Speaker 2: they do the elevens are usually that all those play
- 17:58Speaker 2: ins need to be people playing in because they were
- 18:00Speaker 2: given a free ticket to get in because they didn't
- 18:02Speaker 2: win their ticket.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Outright, I feel that would be fair because.
- 18:06Speaker 2: You hate for like a Colgate or a Nibisco, you
- 18:09Speaker 2: or whoever else to win their tournament. Be so excited
- 18:13Speaker 2: by the way you're playing Tuesday, you don't even get
- 18:16Speaker 2: to playing that EI, there's a chance you don't get
- 18:17Speaker 2: to play in the real tournament, right.
- 18:19Speaker 4: That sucks. That's stupid, So I would change that as well.
- 18:23Speaker 8: We talked about Tiger a little bit ago and he
- 18:24Speaker 8: just had surgery. So I'm wondering what your worst surgery
- 18:27Speaker 8: is that you've ever had or worse INJURYO.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Uh, both of the same.
- 18:31Speaker 2: But I was a kid kid, I fell off a
- 18:33Speaker 2: house on my stomach rupture my spleen. Didn't know what
- 18:35Speaker 2: it was like, almost drown it internally in my own blood.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Is a whole situation.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I was in the hospital for a long time as
- 18:41Speaker 2: a kid, but I was like five, was like six,
- 18:46Speaker 2: so to me, I remember it, but I don't really
- 18:50Speaker 2: have like memories of going. My whole life has been
- 18:53Speaker 2: interrupted because of an injury or a surgery.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Also, I didn't really.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Know surgery what. Yeah, I was scared when you don't
- 18:59Speaker 2: know enough to be scared. H I broke a couple
- 19:02Speaker 2: of ribs and that wasn't a surgery but just broken crap.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Maybe hurt worse thannything's ever happened to me because it
- 19:08Speaker 2: was constant. You know how you have a headache and
- 19:10Speaker 2: there's nothing you can do when you have a headache
- 19:12Speaker 2: to make the headache away. There's nothing you can do
- 19:13Speaker 2: except get rid of the headache. And sometimes you just
- 19:15Speaker 2: sit there with a freaking migraine. You can't walk, you
- 19:17Speaker 2: can't The ribs very similar that you can't breathe, and
- 19:25Speaker 2: you have to breathe all the time, so then you're
- 19:26Speaker 2: thinking about your breath all the time.
- 19:28Speaker 4: The ribs brutal broke to playing high school football. I
- 19:32Speaker 4: have three broken fingers and they hurt, but they hurt
- 19:37Speaker 4: more now.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Than they did then because every time the air pressure
- 19:40Speaker 2: changes like that which means new weather's coming in new front,
- 19:43Speaker 2: they start aching. They've always ached since they've been broken.
- 19:46Speaker 2: So I have a shoulder. When I tore my shoulder
- 19:48Speaker 2: and dancing with the Stars and didn't have a surgery,
- 19:52Speaker 2: they said I should probably go in if I wanted
- 19:53Speaker 2: to have surgery unless you can just deal with the pain.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And I still deal with it. I had a friend
- 19:58Speaker 2: who played in the NFL, like, do not get shouldlder surgery.
- 20:01Speaker 2: He was like, if you can, if you can do it,
- 20:03Speaker 2: just keep going. Don't even go after the show's over, Like,
- 20:06Speaker 2: just do rehab because shoulder surgery messages you up for
- 20:08Speaker 2: a long time. So, but the shoulder thing bothers me
- 20:11Speaker 2: constantly now. But I'm lucky that I haven't had a
- 20:14Speaker 2: bad one as an adult. But the ribs hurt, my
- 20:17Speaker 2: finger still hurt. My shoulder kills me a lot if
- 20:19Speaker 2: I had to go to a lot of rehab for it.
- 20:20Speaker 2: But nothing't like but Tiger, I mean, Tiger got right
- 20:23Speaker 2: and messed him all up?
- 20:24Speaker 7: All right? Go ahead?
- 20:25Speaker 8: Two talked about mulling retirement earlier this week. Who are
- 20:27Speaker 8: some athletes that you wish retired sooner than they did?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Emmitt Smith comes to mind because I hated seeing him
- 20:33Speaker 2: play with the Cardinals. I didn't like the Cowboys, but
- 20:36Speaker 2: it just felt weird watching him put that cardinal's helmet
- 20:40Speaker 2: on and play for the Cardinals that year.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Aren't even for us A year or two years, I
- 20:43Speaker 4: don't know, probably one. It sucked.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I didn't like it, and I I say, no, I've
- 20:48Speaker 2: spent some time with him. I probably could message him
- 20:50Speaker 2: and he'd be like, hey, what up? So be a
- 20:53Speaker 2: couple times in Emmitt So, I love him, but I don't.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I didn't like him as a Cardinal. I didn't know
- 20:57Speaker 2: him at all. Then and then Shaq was on so
- 20:59Speaker 2: many weird teams at the end, even playing for the
- 21:01Speaker 2: Celtics at the end.
- 21:01Speaker 9: Yeah, I agree, even as a fan.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just like, I don't like what's happening here, Shack.
- 21:05Speaker 2: You should never be sitting on the bench.
- 21:07Speaker 4: It doesn't look good. It's not right. You're the man.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Go away the man.
- 21:11Speaker 2: But we don't know what's happened with money, true, you know,
- 21:13Speaker 2: we don't know why he's playing his love. If he
- 21:14Speaker 2: has love and they want to put it on the roster, great,
- 21:16Speaker 2: good deal. But emtt Smith and Shack to me, what
- 21:19Speaker 2: about you?
- 21:20Speaker 9: For me, it would be probably Peyton Manning.
- 21:22Speaker 8: I know he won when he went out, he went,
- 21:24Speaker 8: I know, but he looked so awful, so hard to
- 21:27Speaker 8: watch it.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Ok, then here I'll go with another great, Michael Jordan.
- 21:31Speaker 2: That's the one, Peyton Manning. If that's your answer, that's fine.
- 21:34Speaker 2: You're dumby, but still.
- 21:34Speaker 9: A transfer, you know, because Michael Jordan.
- 21:36Speaker 8: I only I remember more vividly on the Wizards, which
- 21:38Speaker 8: hurts my brain.
- 21:40Speaker 4: That's weird.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess you really didn't see a lot of
- 21:42Speaker 2: the Wow, you're right, you're right. We talked about that
- 21:44Speaker 2: you didn't see a lot of earlier. Michael Jordan's for me. Also,
- 21:47Speaker 2: Randy Moss playing for the Seahawks.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I think he did that. For a minute.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You're digging deep in your brain because I don't have
- 21:52Speaker 2: any sort of reference on that, and I know you didn't,
- 21:54Speaker 2: But I think Randy Moss played for the Seahawks.
- 21:55Speaker 4: For for just a second.
- 21:57Speaker 7: The Titans.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Everyone's thinking he played for the Titans.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, Randy mossy half a year, Yeah, exactly, I remember
- 22:03Speaker 2: all that.
- 22:03Speaker 4: All right, there you go.
- 22:04Speaker 7: That is the tittle Tattle.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Thank you stupid his name ever, it's the tittle Tattle.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Okay. A reminder that twenty five Whistles is brought to
- 22:15Speaker 2: you by DraftKings Sports book. Download the DraftKings app used
- 22:17Speaker 2: to code Bobby Sports get in on the action these
- 22:21Speaker 2: NBA games. First of all, I missed hard on the Warriors.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I just thought the Warrior wouldn't lose another game. They
- 22:27Speaker 2: are because they're at home five and a half point
- 22:30Speaker 2: favorite as of right now as I'm doing this, that
- 22:31Speaker 2: could change. But they've been terrible on the road all year,
- 22:34Speaker 2: they've been great at home, so I think the Warriors
- 22:37Speaker 2: are going to roll. So I would take the Warriors
- 22:39Speaker 2: minus five and a half tonight, just because I can't
- 22:44Speaker 2: believe how bad they are on the road.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I can't.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I can't believe how they just aren't winning on them, Like,
- 22:48Speaker 2: what is the big difference with Golden State on the road.
- 22:51Speaker 9: Yeah, and how it's transitioned.
- 22:53Speaker 8: Everyone kind of forgot about that and then you get
- 22:55Speaker 8: there like, oh, yeah, they're really bad on the road.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Well all year.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I just expected them to win Game two for sure,
- 23:00Speaker 2: because even though it was in sack. Yeah, So the
- 23:02Speaker 2: Sixers minus four and a half at the Nets.
- 23:06Speaker 4: I just feel like the Sixers is probably gonna roll
- 23:07Speaker 4: this too. It doesn't matter.
- 23:09Speaker 2: The Suns minus two and a half at the Clippers.
- 23:11Speaker 2: That series, I don't have my finger on quite yet,
- 23:13Speaker 2: so you guys check it out. The one I would
- 23:15Speaker 2: go with those Warriors minus five and a half. Take
- 23:17Speaker 2: the twenty five whistles. I would say, challenge, and maybe
- 23:19Speaker 2: it's a challenge to bet with me. If it's NFL
- 23:21Speaker 2: or NBA, take the challenge and ride with me. College football.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I feel good about college basketball. I feel good about
- 23:27Speaker 2: but man, these these programs are tough for me. Draftking Sportsbook,

- 23:51Speaker 2: talk with former five star recruit and Penn State tight
- 23:54Speaker 2: end Adam Brenneman.
- 23:55Speaker 4: That's old school.
- 23:57Speaker 2: We're on mostly because we're gonna talk about his media
- 23:59Speaker 2: company called Mercury, where he helps athletes monetize their nil
- 24:03Speaker 2: worth personalized brand building, I think learning about nils and
- 24:07Speaker 2: because people just throw it out all the time, portal
- 24:09Speaker 2: and IL, we'll get them by pay and io throw
- 24:11Speaker 2: them into portal. But let's actually talk about what that means.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And he also coached with HERM Edwards. He has a
- 24:16Speaker 2: Penn State record. Follow Adam on TikTok and Twitter at
- 24:21Speaker 2: Adam Brenneman eighty one and we'll talk more about a
- 24:24Speaker 2: show and everything else in this So here is Adam Brenneman.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Adam, what's up?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Man?
- 24:29Speaker 7: So Bobby, how are you man?
- 24:30Speaker 2: So I have a lot of questions because especially with
- 24:32Speaker 2: what you're doing and what you specialize in with Team Mercury.
- 24:34Speaker 2: But just to give people just a background on who
- 24:38Speaker 2: you are, five star recruit, you played tied End, you
- 24:42Speaker 2: went to Penn State. You obviously have a college football
- 24:46Speaker 2: career that I mean, you have what the longest touchdown
- 24:49Speaker 2: reception by a tight end of Penn State history?
- 24:50Speaker 4: How long was that reception?
- 24:52Speaker 10: By the way, it was sixty eight yards? Man, And
- 24:54Speaker 10: I'm a hold onto that one forever. I've been telling
- 24:57Speaker 10: people every time everywhere I go, I tell people about
- 24:59Speaker 10: that record.
- 25:00Speaker 4: I think someone's going to hit a seventy eighty yarder.
- 25:02Speaker 7: You don't think that to be broken?
- 25:05Speaker 10: No, you know, you know those records that are like
- 25:07Speaker 10: longest touchdown by a freshman who was under six two.
- 25:12Speaker 2: So Adam has this like a great playing career. But
- 25:17Speaker 2: then Team Mercury is Will you explain that to our
- 25:20Speaker 2: listeners before I kind of get into some questions about it.
- 25:23Speaker 10: Yeah, So Mercury's a sports media company at its core.
- 25:27Speaker 10: We have a variety of shows, podcasts, talent. You know,
- 25:31Speaker 10: you can kind of think of it as a barstool
- 25:33Speaker 10: sports that specializes in just college sports, and we actually
- 25:37Speaker 10: partner with colleges and universities, some of which Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma, Clemson, Villanova, UCF,
- 25:44Speaker 10: some premier colleges and college athletics to partner with them
- 25:49Speaker 10: to create these fan experiences, these fan platforms, and then
- 25:53Speaker 10: also do ANIL deals with their players, which allows us
- 25:56Speaker 10: access that really no one else has. And we have
- 25:59Speaker 10: a few shows that student athletes actually hosts. So it's
- 26:03Speaker 10: a pretty cool concept, pretty unique. At its core, we're
- 26:06Speaker 10: a sports media company.
- 26:07Speaker 2: So the NIL is what I'm super curious about and
- 26:10Speaker 2: your thoughts on it, And just to give you my background,
- 26:12Speaker 2: I think I've done ANIL deals with about twelve or
- 26:15Speaker 2: thirteen players at the University of Arkansas, from football players,
- 26:19Speaker 2: women's basketball, cheerleading, et cetera. So I try to support
- 26:22Speaker 2: those guys, meaning guys women both, And so let's just
- 26:27Speaker 2: talk about it, and how do you feel the NIL
- 26:31Speaker 2: is affecting college sports and in good way, bad way?
- 26:35Speaker 4: Like what are the pros and cons so far?
- 26:37Speaker 10: I mean it is it's changed the game completely, as
- 26:41Speaker 10: you know, Bobby, it's we're still kind of in the
- 26:44Speaker 10: phase of figuring it all out. Right, it's you know,
- 26:48Speaker 10: what are the implications? What's it mean long term? How
- 26:51Speaker 10: do how are universities involved? You know, when this came down,
- 26:54Speaker 10: it obviously came down from a court ruling, but still
- 26:57Speaker 10: there's been state laws that are different across state. I
- 27:00Speaker 10: mean for a long time, you look at penn State
- 27:02Speaker 10: versus Ohio State. Ohio State coaches were allowed to be
- 27:05Speaker 10: involved in NIL deals based on their state law, while
- 27:09Speaker 10: Pennsylvania coaches weren't. You know, So it's been this kind
- 27:12Speaker 10: of uneven playing field. No one really knows what's going on.
- 27:15Speaker 10: I think at its core, NIL is a great thing.
- 27:18Speaker 10: I mean I remember being back in high school and
- 27:20Speaker 10: college and like writing essay papers about why student athletes
- 27:23Speaker 10: should be able to getet paid and make money off
- 27:25Speaker 10: their name, image, and likeness. Now, the issue with NIL
- 27:30Speaker 10: is that when NIL came down and the court ruling happened,
- 27:34Speaker 10: and it was intended to be you know, the starting
- 27:38Speaker 10: quarterback doing an NIL deal with his local car dealership, right,
- 27:41Speaker 10: the stuff you're doing, Bobby, you know, that's what NIL
- 27:44Speaker 10: is intended to be, being allowing student athletes to do.
- 27:47Speaker 10: What it's not intended to be is collectives raising a
- 27:49Speaker 10: bunch of money and paying a player to transfer to
- 27:52Speaker 10: their school, paying a player to to come to their school,
- 27:55Speaker 10: and that's where the discrepancy is. In the NFL, you know,
- 27:58Speaker 10: you have marketing deals, you have players are able to
- 28:00Speaker 10: do that, there's a salary cap. In college football, you
- 28:03Speaker 10: have this thing called recruiting, and recruiting determines who wins
- 28:06Speaker 10: the national championship every single year. It's not about the
- 28:09Speaker 10: x's and nodes. It's Jimmy's and Joe's. It's a long
- 28:11Speaker 10: time saying around college football. It's all about recruiting. And
- 28:15Speaker 10: when you tie in NIL with recruiting, obviously pay for
- 28:18Speaker 10: play happens a little bit. And you got people trying
- 28:20Speaker 10: to use NIL in recruiting to pay players.
- 28:23Speaker 7: To come to their school. That's where the issue is.
- 28:25Speaker 10: But I really think at the end of the day,
- 28:27Speaker 10: at its core, it's a great thing for the sport.
- 28:29Speaker 10: I think it's a great thing for the student athletes.
- 28:32Speaker 10: But obviously there's still a lot that easy to get
- 28:34Speaker 10: figured out, and I think at some point we'll probably
- 28:36Speaker 10: see some federal legislation come down that governs the entire thing,
- 28:41Speaker 10: because I think the NCAA has shown they can't really handle.
- 28:43Speaker 4: It or really anything consistently.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Anything, Yeah, not just the nil.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I feel like we're aligned in a lot of ways
- 28:50Speaker 2: because I advocated, even lobbied to lawmakers if I felt
- 28:56Speaker 2: it needed it to where if you're eighteen years old
- 28:58Speaker 2: in this country, you can vote, and you can X,
- 29:01Speaker 2: Y and z, and somebody in a classroom that's in
- 29:04Speaker 2: a college classroom can be an influencer and they can
- 29:06Speaker 2: make But an athlete's actually being punished because he wasn't
- 29:08Speaker 2: able to just do equally what everybody else was doing, right,
- 29:12Speaker 2: So it wasn't that you're giving the athlete any sort
- 29:15Speaker 2: of just we're giving you free money. Like if they
- 29:18Speaker 2: were strong enough, good enough, known enough to actually get
- 29:23Speaker 2: a deal for social media or podcasting, that's what everybody's
- 29:26Speaker 2: able to do, why should they be punished. So we're
- 29:29Speaker 2: very aligned on that because this is a country too
- 29:31Speaker 2: where you're eighteen, you're an adult.
- 29:33Speaker 4: You should be able to make some money.
- 29:34Speaker 2: At the same time, very old school archaic rules in
- 29:37Speaker 2: college sports and so, like I was totally all in,
- 29:39Speaker 2: I'm still all in and I love it, but at times,
- 29:42Speaker 2: as you mentioned, it does feel very chaotic and you
- 29:45Speaker 2: hear about some of these deals, and I hear about
- 29:47Speaker 2: some of these deals through people that I work with,
- 29:50Speaker 2: and there are no rules. It is the wild West.
- 29:53Speaker 2: So what is going to need to happen? Because usually
- 29:55Speaker 2: it takes something really bad or crazy to happen to
- 29:58Speaker 2: actually create some sort of force for good. What's going
- 30:02Speaker 2: to have to happen to have some rules here?
- 30:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I you know, I get asked that question a lot,
- 30:07Speaker 7: and I don't. I don't.
- 30:08Speaker 10: I really don't have a great answer for how you
- 30:11Speaker 10: fix it. I think that the problem comes from a
- 30:14Speaker 10: from this one area that I believe is like the
- 30:16Speaker 10: main thing that drives the frustration. It's that, you know,
- 30:20Speaker 10: when back up I mentioned the NFL players, and I'm
- 30:24Speaker 10: sure you know a bunch of guys too that complain
- 30:26Speaker 10: about this. I'm sure the amount of friends I have
- 30:28Speaker 10: in the NFL who complain about not making any money
- 30:31Speaker 10: on marketing deals is exponential. I mean the amount of
- 30:34Speaker 10: guys that are starters in the NFL who complain and
- 30:38Speaker 10: are like, man, I only make one hundred grand in
- 30:40Speaker 10: marketing deals. It's a lot of money, but a lot
- 30:42Speaker 10: of times you think these guys make more money. So like,
- 30:45Speaker 10: that's that's because it's there that's the real market value
- 30:48Speaker 10: that they bring to a brand. Right, if you're starting
- 30:50Speaker 10: tight end in the NFL, you're not making five million
- 30:52Speaker 10: bucks a year, and then in marketing deals you may
- 30:55Speaker 10: make some money here and there. So I say that
- 30:58Speaker 10: to say that the in the value is so high
- 31:01Speaker 10: in college football and nil deals, which are supposed to
- 31:04Speaker 10: be marketing deals, is because of the recruiting and this
- 31:07Speaker 10: one thing called the transfer portal. Right, the transfer portal
- 31:10Speaker 10: changed the game completely. You got a guy, for an example,
- 31:15Speaker 10: as one of my friends, Kenny Pickett Right, first round
- 31:18Speaker 10: draft pick, number one quarterback in the country at Pitt.
- 31:21Speaker 10: The guy made one hundred thousand dollars his senior year
- 31:25Speaker 10: pit and he was a Heisman candidate. Number one pick
- 31:28Speaker 10: in the NFL draft. Right only made one hundred thousand dollars.
- 31:32Speaker 10: His market value would have gone up probably fifty x
- 31:36Speaker 10: if he just entered the transfer portal. Right, if he
- 31:40Speaker 10: entered the transfer portal, he's now worth three million dollars.
- 31:43Speaker 7: To a school.
- 31:44Speaker 10: But because he stayed a pit, he's not worth any
- 31:46Speaker 10: he's worth you know what's he worth in money to
- 31:49Speaker 10: pit business?
- 31:49Speaker 7: Right? Like?
- 31:50Speaker 10: What are they going to pay him to do a
- 31:52Speaker 10: car dealership commercial. So these guys are incentivized to enter
- 31:56Speaker 10: the portal because they're worth more money on the open market.
- 31:59Speaker 10: They get more NIL money. The schools use it to
- 32:02Speaker 10: bribe them or get them to come to their school.
- 32:04Speaker 10: So the combination of NIL and the transfer portal, I
- 32:07Speaker 10: think is really you know, you combine everything at this
- 32:10Speaker 10: at the same time, college football has changed more in
- 32:12Speaker 10: the last five years, and it changed in the last
- 32:14Speaker 10: one hundred. At the same time, you combine NIL so
- 32:17Speaker 10: players can get paid. You combine the transfer portal with
- 32:20Speaker 10: an unlimited transfer or i'm sorry, a first time transfer waiver,
- 32:23Speaker 10: not without having to sit out. And then you also
- 32:25Speaker 10: combine recruiting being at the hot most competitive level it's
- 32:29Speaker 10: ever been. It's a bad combination, and that the portal
- 32:33Speaker 10: in the NIL together is where you hear the bad
- 32:35Speaker 10: things happening, right and you hear the frustration. You hear
- 32:38Speaker 10: the Jordan Addison story of leaving pitt to go to
- 32:40Speaker 10: USC last year. I'm sure you remember that story on
- 32:43Speaker 10: a massive NIL deal. You hear the stories about Jada Rashada,
- 32:46Speaker 10: the quarterback who commits to Florida. They promised the twelve
- 32:49Speaker 10: million dollars or whatever it was, and they don't have
- 32:51Speaker 10: the money to pay them. It's those combinations that make
- 32:54Speaker 10: it that cause issues. So I think if you see
- 32:56Speaker 10: anything happen soon, I think it could be some kind
- 33:00Speaker 10: of legislation around the transfer waiver or not allowing guys
- 33:04Speaker 10: to actually transfer right away after one year, maybe making
- 33:07Speaker 10: them wait two years or three years of transfer, something
- 33:10Speaker 10: around there. I don't have an exact answer, but I
- 33:12Speaker 10: think that's where the problem really stems from.
- 33:15Speaker 2: And you bring up a great point when coaches have
- 33:18Speaker 2: to keep recruiting their kids to stay, not just recruiting
- 33:22Speaker 2: their kids to come to the program, and what's happening
- 33:25Speaker 2: is they say, Okay, the coaches got to convince the
- 33:28Speaker 2: kid they want to stay. But it's almost like you've
- 33:31Speaker 2: got to convince the kid and pay him more. It's
- 33:33Speaker 2: almost like a contract negotiation just so they don't decide
- 33:37Speaker 2: to leave. And again, if I were a nineteen year
- 33:40Speaker 2: old kid and I didn't come from money and I
- 33:42Speaker 2: needed money, I'd probably jump too. If I could get three,
- 33:46Speaker 2: four or five hundred thousand bucks.
- 33:48Speaker 10: I mean, yeah, it's life changing money even, you know.
- 33:51Speaker 10: And one of the reasons I like nil and it
- 33:53Speaker 10: sounds like you're in the same mindset, is you got
- 33:56Speaker 10: the kid. It's not always the guys making three million bucks, right,
- 33:59Speaker 10: it's the starting offensive lineman who was able to make
- 34:02Speaker 10: twenty five grand his senior year and that completely changes
- 34:06Speaker 10: the trajectory of his life. Right, you leave college football,
- 34:09Speaker 10: maybe you don't play the NFL. But if you leave
- 34:11Speaker 10: college football and you have and you go to the
- 34:13Speaker 10: real world and you have thirty grand in the bank
- 34:15Speaker 10: because you did an il deals, I mean, talk about
- 34:17Speaker 10: the advantage you have on the rest of the workforce,
- 34:20Speaker 10: on the rest of the people out there. It's little
- 34:22Speaker 10: things like that. Maybe it's ten grand, maybe it's the
- 34:24Speaker 10: kid that can I mean, I remember teammates of mine
- 34:27Speaker 10: who would get the pel grant checks, right, the checks
- 34:29Speaker 10: for the for low income families, for student athletes that
- 34:33Speaker 10: would get their checks for you know, a couple of
- 34:35Speaker 10: thousand bucks a semester and send it directly home to
- 34:37Speaker 10: their families.
- 34:38Speaker 7: And that always broke my heart. I'm like, man, like,
- 34:40Speaker 7: where's your money? What are you doing?
- 34:41Speaker 5: Well?
- 34:41Speaker 10: My family needs so you know, to tell those kids
- 34:44Speaker 10: that they can't go make a thousand bucks to do
- 34:46Speaker 10: an autograph signding like, that's ridiculous to me. At the
- 34:49Speaker 10: same time, there needs to be you know, there needs
- 34:52Speaker 10: to be some kind of structure within IO.
- 34:54Speaker 4: And we can jump off this in a second.
- 34:56Speaker 2: But something that I found while setting up these deals
- 34:59Speaker 2: with different attorney and people at the university to make
- 35:01Speaker 2: sure that we met all the requirements and everything was
- 35:04Speaker 2: above board. I needed to make it above board for
- 35:06Speaker 2: me as well, being a public figure. That what I
- 35:08Speaker 2: learned is you can basically go all right, I'm gonna
- 35:11Speaker 2: I didn't do this like my first one was ever
- 35:13Speaker 2: was Jaylen Williams, who now plays basketball at Oklahoma City
- 35:16Speaker 2: based Arkansas Guy. I gave him fifteen thousand bucks over
- 35:19Speaker 2: a series to promote one of my TV shows, and
- 35:21Speaker 2: so I had him working. You could see him working.
- 35:22Speaker 2: We had it all out out in public. It wasn't
- 35:24Speaker 2: like a million dollar deal, but I felt like it
- 35:26Speaker 2: was enough where he really felt valued.
- 35:28Speaker 4: He did the work.
- 35:29Speaker 2: And where you come in, especially with your business now,
- 35:32Speaker 2: it sounds like you're getting some of these athletes to
- 35:33Speaker 2: actually do the work where I could literally how I
- 35:37Speaker 2: felt while doing these deals. I could say, I'd like
- 35:39Speaker 2: for you to come knock on my door, say hi,
- 35:41Speaker 2: and I'm gonna get you a million bucks. And it's
- 35:43Speaker 2: not having to be reported. There's no maximum minimum of
- 35:46Speaker 2: work you have to do. It's just we've agreed for this,
- 35:49Speaker 2: and I can pay you this. And that felt like
- 35:52Speaker 2: wildly just so open ended that you could pay anybody
- 35:58Speaker 2: any amount to really do nothing where you guys are
- 36:01Speaker 2: actually doing shows with athletes.
- 36:03Speaker 10: You make a great point, you know nil, For an
- 36:06Speaker 10: nil deal to be allowed, there has to be some
- 36:08Speaker 10: kind of transaction there, right, you can't just pay a guy.
- 36:10Speaker 10: It has to be like you said, it has to
- 36:12Speaker 10: be you know, there has to be an exchange of services.
- 36:14Speaker 10: You know, they have to promote something or some kind
- 36:16Speaker 10: of marketing deal. But really, I think the NCAA legislation
- 36:20Speaker 10: says something like it has to be fair market value,
- 36:23Speaker 10: But like who decides what fair market value is? You know,
- 36:25Speaker 10: a collective may tell a quarterback, we're going to pay
- 36:28Speaker 10: you a million dollars to come to our school. In exchange,
- 36:31Speaker 10: you have to post on social media three times, right,
- 36:34Speaker 10: like that's not actually fair market value? But who can
- 36:36Speaker 10: tell them that's not right? Who can tell a business
- 36:39Speaker 10: that's not worth it for them? So that that's where
- 36:41Speaker 10: another huge issue comes in. But yeah, I mean at Mercury,
- 36:45Speaker 10: the cool you know, we're not we I have no
- 36:47Speaker 10: interest in paying an athlete without without getting something in return. Right,
- 36:51Speaker 10: there's nothing in that game for me. There's nothing in
- 36:53Speaker 10: it for you and your business either. So you know,
- 36:56Speaker 10: for us, it's all about nowadays, is we're seeing athletes
- 37:00Speaker 10: want to do their own content. When I was playing football,
- 37:02Speaker 10: it was almost you know, not even long ago, it
- 37:04Speaker 10: was almost frowned upon to do your own media. You know,
- 37:07Speaker 10: it was almost like, oh, we're football players, we don't
- 37:09Speaker 10: talk to the media. Where media is the bad guys.
- 37:12Speaker 10: Nowadays you see guys, and it started with Pat McAfee,
- 37:15Speaker 10: Draymond Green doing his own show, JJ Reddick doing it.
- 37:18Speaker 10: You see these guys that are now athletes want to
- 37:21Speaker 10: host their own shows, want to want to do their
- 37:23Speaker 10: own media, and they can go right to the source.
- 37:25Speaker 10: They can they can end a game and do a
- 37:27Speaker 10: podcast and explain what happened and not have to go
- 37:30Speaker 10: do not have to explain it to a press conference
- 37:32Speaker 10: of thirty reporters staring at them. So that we've capitalized
- 37:35Speaker 10: on that and just see found these guys. I mean,
- 37:37Speaker 10: we get reached out to. I literally reach out to
- 37:39Speaker 10: almost every day of Division one POWERFY football players that
- 37:43Speaker 10: want to start their own show. And for us, it's like,
- 37:45Speaker 10: where can we put our resources? What makes sense? You know,
- 37:47Speaker 10: what can we actually produce? But it's exciting. It's a
- 37:50Speaker 10: fun time to be a student athlete. And that's another
- 37:52Speaker 10: way that NIL I really think NIL is a part
- 37:54Speaker 10: of that is not directly, but Nil's changed the game
- 37:58Speaker 10: in the mindset where athletes now want to build brand.
- 38:00Speaker 10: They're not afraid to be public, they're not afraid to
- 38:03Speaker 10: talk to talk to the media and do their own media.
- 38:06Speaker 10: It's really commercialized college sports, and I think it's pretty
- 38:09Speaker 10: cool to see to see athletes, you know, building their
- 38:11Speaker 10: brand and taking advantage because a lot of them also
- 38:14Speaker 10: want to be a media when they're done playing.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Do you feel like you missed out on a bunch
- 38:17Speaker 2: of money because you're a five star recruit and that's
- 38:19Speaker 2: got to be I mean, you got to be the
- 38:20Speaker 2: bell of the ball everywhere you go, especially when it
- 38:22Speaker 2: comes to your senior year. I mean, as a five
- 38:25Speaker 2: star recruit, just think of the cash you could have
- 38:27Speaker 2: made if this was the deal back then.
- 38:30Speaker 10: It's funny I was. One of my best friends is
- 38:32Speaker 10: a guy named Christian Hackenberg. Remember him, was a was
- 38:35Speaker 10: a five star recruit, went to Penn State with me
- 38:37Speaker 10: and played for the Jets for a while. We were
- 38:40Speaker 10: just he was on my show the other day and
- 38:42Speaker 10: we were talking just about like we would have made
- 38:45Speaker 10: some money, especially at Penn State. You know, Penn State's
- 38:48Speaker 10: a that's a that's a that's an intense community around
- 38:51Speaker 10: the football program. And and the time we went there too.
- 38:54Speaker 10: I mean we went to Penn State in the middle
- 38:56Speaker 10: of you know, the Penn State scandal, when the when
- 38:58Speaker 10: the fans were trying to rally around each other.
- 39:01Speaker 7: It would have been completely different. It would have been nice.
- 39:03Speaker 10: I have probably have a few more bucks than I
- 39:05Speaker 10: have right now if I would have would have had nil.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Tell me about your show you mentioned it next up
- 39:09Speaker 2: with Adam. What are you guys talking about over there?
- 39:11Speaker 10: We're doing sit down podcast style conversations. You know, I'd
- 39:15Speaker 10: like to call it a conversation, not an interview, and
- 39:18Speaker 10: just talk about life, you know, players, careers. You know,
- 39:21Speaker 10: We've had guys on a bunch of big names in
- 39:24Speaker 10: sports and college football, NFL. Jared Goff, Kenny Pickett, and
- 39:28Speaker 10: I mentioned, you know, a bunch of different media personalities
- 39:32Speaker 10: and stuff. Really just you know, a lot of times
- 39:34Speaker 10: I'm going to these guys and and and bringing a
- 39:36Speaker 10: video crew and where if it's a big enough guest,
- 39:38Speaker 10: you know, going to them and sitting down in their
- 39:40Speaker 10: living room and just talking about their story and life,
- 39:43Speaker 10: you know, which which I really enjoy. I think for
- 39:45Speaker 10: a lot of guys, you get so as an athlete,
- 39:47Speaker 10: you get brought up in this culture of like being
- 39:49Speaker 10: afraid of what you're saying in public, and being afraid
- 39:51Speaker 10: of the media and being afraid of, you know, making
- 39:54Speaker 10: sure you don't say anything wrong. What we try to
- 39:56Speaker 10: do is just take that down and make them, you know,
- 39:58Speaker 10: have them almost forget that they're on podcast and just
- 40:01Speaker 10: open up and talk. And then you know, I always
- 40:03Speaker 10: tell the guys, if you say anything you don't want
- 40:05Speaker 10: in there, we can always take it out, but let's
- 40:07Speaker 10: just be open and have some fun with the conversation.
- 40:10Speaker 2: What about coaching for you spent two years at Arizona
- 40:12Speaker 2: State under HERM Edwards, right like why? And I think
- 40:16Speaker 2: I saw that you were the youngest position coach at
- 40:18Speaker 2: a Power five school like one. Did you like coaching.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Two what was HERM like? And three would you go back?
- 40:24Speaker 10: Herb's the man? I mean, Herm is exactly what you
- 40:27Speaker 10: see on TV. Is you know the guy with the energy.
- 40:30Speaker 10: You know, you see the playoffs, the playoffs ran like,
- 40:34Speaker 10: that's her. Every day you walk in the office and
- 40:37Speaker 10: that's the energy.
- 40:37Speaker 7: I mean. He was a great, really a good.
- 40:41Speaker 10: He was coaching his coaches really well, and he taught
- 40:44Speaker 10: us a lot about leadership, how to treat people, how
- 40:47Speaker 10: to get people to believe in yourself, you know, how
- 40:49Speaker 10: to his big thing he always said that, you know,
- 40:52Speaker 10: if you're a coach and you got these players or
- 40:54Speaker 10: a leader of any kind, you have to give people hope.
- 40:56Speaker 10: That's what he always said and always reminded us of it.
- 40:59Speaker 10: I still have. You know, Herm wasn't a big Texter,
- 41:02Speaker 10: not a big email guy. So every day I would,
- 41:05Speaker 10: you know, three four days a week, I'd walk into
- 41:07Speaker 10: my office at Arizona State, and when I was a
- 41:09Speaker 10: ten ends coach, I'd have a I'd have a printed
- 41:12Speaker 10: out piece of paper with a message of the day
- 41:14Speaker 10: from her right.
- 41:15Speaker 7: He would get in.
- 41:16Speaker 10: There early at four am and I'd walk in and
- 41:18Speaker 10: on my desk was a piece of paper. I still
- 41:20Speaker 10: got tons of them with a quote, with a piece
- 41:23Speaker 10: of advice, words of wisdom, words of encouragement. He would
- 41:26Speaker 10: actually type it out and give it to the coaches,
- 41:29Speaker 10: which was really cool, you know, just it's a funny
- 41:31Speaker 10: thing though thinking of like you could just text me that,
- 41:33Speaker 10: right but but but it definitely brought, you know, a
- 41:36Speaker 10: different level of to it when when it's printed out.
- 41:39Speaker 10: But Herm's a man, and he was. He was really
- 41:41Speaker 10: fun to work with. You know, I loved coaching. It's
- 41:44Speaker 10: there's very few especially with being how young I was,
- 41:47Speaker 10: there's very few jobs or roles where you can have
- 41:51Speaker 10: as much of an impact on people as you can
- 41:53Speaker 10: as a coach. I mean you're you're literally changing people's
- 41:56Speaker 10: lives and you're building people up and changing.
- 41:59Speaker 7: Or giving young man opportunities.
- 42:01Speaker 10: The thing that's changed about coaching, and you're seeing a
- 42:03Speaker 10: lot of guys get out of coaching or trying to
- 42:05Speaker 10: get to the NFL is what we just talked about. Man,
- 42:08Speaker 10: I mean, you got as a college coach number one,
- 42:10Speaker 10: it's all about recruiting. It's it's maybe eighty percent talent
- 42:14Speaker 10: acquisition and twenty percent talent development. I mean it is
- 42:17Speaker 10: all about recruiting, and NIL has changed that completely. I mean,
- 42:21Speaker 10: you're you're you mentioned it, Bobby. You're recruiting your own
- 42:25Speaker 10: roster over and over and over again, and constantly. These
- 42:28Speaker 10: guys are getting hit up by their agent, by other
- 42:30Speaker 10: people saying, you can get if you go in the portal,
- 42:32Speaker 10: You'll make this amount of money. You can go here
- 42:34Speaker 10: for this an il deal. So it's it's a tough
- 42:36Speaker 10: time to be a college coach. I mean, there's a
- 42:38Speaker 10: lot of guys that don't want to do it. For me,
- 42:39Speaker 10: I I always had this passion for media and wanting
- 42:42Speaker 10: to get into it, so it felt like an easy transition,
- 42:45Speaker 10: especially when you know everyone at HERM left ASU and
- 42:48Speaker 10: you know, but it was it was a fun time, man.
- 42:51Speaker 10: I mean, I think we'll I ever get back into it.
- 42:52Speaker 10: I think I think, you know, it's definitely possible. It's
- 42:55Speaker 10: it's a it's a you know, like I said, there's
- 42:58Speaker 10: there's a few things you can make as much of
- 42:59Speaker 10: an impact. But I'm definitely enjoying what I'm doing now.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Final question for you, when it comes to the NFL Draft,
- 43:05Speaker 2: you know, it's always been Bryce Young and then quickly
- 43:08Speaker 2: for a while it was c J. Stroud when the
- 43:10Speaker 2: Panthers traded up to number one, even the odds flipped heavily.
- 43:14Speaker 2: But now it's back to Bryce Young. Where do you
- 43:16Speaker 2: see this falling with Bryce c J.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Stroud?
- 43:19Speaker 2: Just the quarterbacks, and I'm assuming that that number three
- 43:22Speaker 2: pick is probably going to get traded out, so another
- 43:24Speaker 2: one of those quarterbacks and grabbed up by those teams. Like,
- 43:26Speaker 2: how do you see those, let's say, those top four
- 43:27Speaker 2: quarterbacks falling.
- 43:29Speaker 7: I've been back and forth on this for a while.
- 43:31Speaker 7: I'll be honest.
- 43:31Speaker 10: My original I did a take on this like three
- 43:35Speaker 10: months ago. My original order was Will Levis going first overall,
- 43:40Speaker 10: which that's obviously not going to happen anymore. And then
- 43:43Speaker 10: I had I had Bryce Young, then Stroud, then Richardson.
- 43:46Speaker 10: I'm still super high on Will Levis. I think Will
- 43:48Speaker 10: Levis reminds a lot of GMS, and I think that
- 43:51Speaker 10: I think the media draft media doesn't isn't as high
- 43:54Speaker 10: on Levis as I as. I believe that the gms
- 43:57Speaker 10: in the in the NFL front offices are from people
- 43:59Speaker 10: I've talked to from just what I know about the
- 44:02Speaker 10: game in the league, Will Levis reminds every one of
- 44:05Speaker 10: Josh Allen. And if there's one quarterback in the league
- 44:08Speaker 10: that a lot of teams are trying to emulate or say,
- 44:10Speaker 10: we need to get this guy for our team, it's
- 44:12Speaker 10: Josh Allen or maybe you know Mahomes. He possibly hurts,
- 44:15Speaker 10: but you know, teams are trying to find the next
- 44:18Speaker 10: Josh Allen. And Will Levis word of mind, everyone physically, mentally,
- 44:22Speaker 10: emotionally of Josh Allen. So I think Levis, I still
- 44:28Speaker 10: think there's are chances a run on quarterbacks and you go,
- 44:30Speaker 10: you know, four in a row. But I think that
- 44:32Speaker 10: Bryce would be the first pick. I think that's kind
- 44:34Speaker 10: of seems to be the consensus now. It's gonna be Bryce, CJ.
- 44:38Speaker 10: Will and then Richardson is what I believe is going
- 44:41Speaker 10: to happen now. And I think that's that's mostly the consensus,
- 44:44Speaker 10: but you never know how these things could fall.
- 44:46Speaker 7: Man.
- 44:46Speaker 10: I think Richardson's turned some heads, but I don't think
- 44:49Speaker 10: he's quite ready. Stroud's shown to be just more polished,
- 44:52Speaker 10: and you know, CJ. Stroud's a guy.
- 44:55Speaker 7: I was just talking.
- 44:55Speaker 10: I just did a show on the quarterbacks a couple
- 44:57Speaker 10: of days ago, and you know, I I feel like
- 45:00Speaker 10: we're forgetting that C. J.
- 45:01Speaker 7: Stroud.
- 45:01Speaker 10: You know the kind of career he had, that he's
- 45:03Speaker 10: the most decorated pastor in Ohio state history. That he's
- 45:07Speaker 10: incredibly accurate, which is probably the most important trait in
- 45:10Speaker 10: the NFL. If I was a GM, I think right
- 45:12Speaker 10: now I would take Stroud first overall. Now, again, they
- 45:15Speaker 10: know a lot more than we do, but I believe
- 45:17Speaker 10: it's going to be Bryce young Man.
- 45:19Speaker 2: You're awesome. I really appreciate you, Adam coming on. I
- 45:20Speaker 2: want everybody to check out Next up with Adam. If

- 45:46Speaker 2: people just throw that around like they know all about it,
- 45:48Speaker 2: when I don't know all about it, and I've been
- 45:51Speaker 2: in it doing deals with players, working with attorneys, and
- 45:54Speaker 2: even then I'm like, really you just do that, So

- 48:21Speaker 8: So here gound round one hundred, give or take.
- 48:24Speaker 2: What we're gonna do is we're gonna we will be

- 48:57Speaker 1: I know?
- 48:57Speaker 9: I don't want to ask. So you know, it's been
- 48:58Speaker 9: a little a.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Few weeks and I just need time. I just need time.
- 49:02Speaker 2: So next Thursday, it looks like from noon until two
- 49:07Speaker 2: we I think that's the frame that we're gonna go
- 49:09Speaker 2: to this place.
- 49:10Speaker 4: We'll go together. I'm gonna do something with them as well.
- 49:13Speaker 2: But so we were gonna do your series first called
- 49:15Speaker 2: Breaking ninety, and it'll be a six part series of
- 49:18Speaker 2: you trying to literally break ninety.
- 49:20Speaker 11: I love it, did not know bones. If he doesn't
- 49:22Speaker 11: break ninety back, we're breaking ninety. Yeah, Edie, Eddie, We're
- 49:28Speaker 11: breaking ninety. Okay, we're gonna break eighty. We're getting all
- 49:30Speaker 11: the way down.

- 49:44Speaker 4: Yeah, we didn't even We weren't even like, hey, give

- 49:48Speaker 4: do this.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Can you hooks up a clubs for Kevin? What they
- 49:51Speaker 2: were like, Yeah, no problem.
- 49:52Speaker 9: I love Cobra, love Poom, you do the best.
- 49:55Speaker 8: Yeah, if you're listening to this, go get some Cobra,
- 49:57Speaker 8: Puma everything.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Alright, Now that doesn't seem real, dude, it's gonna look
- 50:03Speaker 2: too hard. So Kevin's gonna do Breaking ninety and then
- 50:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna do Breaking eighty eventually.
- 50:10Speaker 4: If not at the same time. We only have one
- 50:12Speaker 4: read that's the problem.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Do one video, guy, So uh, Eddie, just think if

- 50:32Speaker 2: We're gonna talk to Rob Parker, who's one of my
- 50:34Speaker 2: favorite sports radio guys. I listened to him on Fox
- 50:37Speaker 2: Sports Radio. He's the host of Inside the Rob Parker,
- 50:40Speaker 2: It's podcast on the Colin Cowhard podcast Network. He's an
- 50:43Speaker 2: MLB analyst. He's a founder and editor of mlbbro dot com.
- 50:48Speaker 2: He's a Hall of Fame voter. Follow him on Instagram
- 50:51Speaker 2: Rob Parker FSR. Here he is Rob Parker. Hey, Rob,
- 50:55Speaker 2: how's it going?
- 50:55Speaker 5: I'm good, Bobby?
- 50:56Speaker 7: How are you? Hey?
- 50:57Speaker 4: I appreciate you. A big fan as well. You and Chris.
- 50:59Speaker 2: You guys kill it over there, so appreciate you coming on.
- 51:02Speaker 2: I got a lot of questions for Evan saving. I've
- 51:04Speaker 2: been waiting for this moment, especially talking about baseball, because
- 51:08Speaker 2: I want to know because I have thoughts. I think
- 51:11Speaker 2: generally the pitch clock is warmly welcomed by fans. How
- 51:15Speaker 2: did you feel about it when they announced it versus
- 51:18Speaker 2: how it feels now?
- 51:20Speaker 5: Definitely wasn't a fan of it. I just thought it
- 51:22Speaker 5: was catering to non baseball fans, that people who don't
- 51:27Speaker 5: like the game, who want it to be over it
- 51:29Speaker 5: before it even starts. But I have to admit that
- 51:33Speaker 5: it has. I thought it would shave five or ten
- 51:36Speaker 5: minutes off the game, but twenty six to thirty minutes
- 51:39Speaker 5: is significant, and I think that it's it hasn't altered
- 51:44Speaker 5: the game to where I'm like, well, what is this?
- 51:47Speaker 5: This is like not baseball. It actually is still the
- 51:51Speaker 5: same game, just at a better pace.
- 51:53Speaker 2: And I think two, if they had never told me
- 51:56Speaker 2: there was a pitch clock and I was just watching
- 51:58Speaker 2: the game, I don't know that I would know anything
- 52:01Speaker 2: was different. Just if I'm watching, it would just feel
- 52:04Speaker 2: like a game that was moving pretty good. I don't
- 52:06Speaker 2: know that I would be like something's fishy here. Do
- 52:09Speaker 2: you feel like you would know it if they didn't tell.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Us, Yeah, I agree. It just seems like the pace
- 52:13Speaker 5: is faster. I mean, I wasn't that happy when we
- 52:16Speaker 5: had early on back to back days where Mandy Machado
- 52:21Speaker 5: was kicked out for you know, for giving the umpire
- 52:24Speaker 5: lip and then the next day Tim Anderson. Now we're
- 52:27Speaker 5: throwing stars out of the game over the pitch clock.
- 52:31Speaker 5: Then I'm not happy about it. That's not good for
- 52:33Speaker 5: the game. And I think the umpires should work with
- 52:36Speaker 5: these veteran players, you know, so that they can adjust
- 52:39Speaker 5: to it. Younger players have used it in the minor league,
- 52:42Speaker 5: so they're more used to it. I just don't want
- 52:44Speaker 5: to see stars thrown out of the game over the
- 52:46Speaker 5: pitch clock.
- 52:47Speaker 2: When you talk about stars, I start thinking about, you know,
- 52:50Speaker 2: kind of the Mount rushmore of the big stars right now,
- 52:53Speaker 2: and Otani is probably, I mean, in my mind, the
- 52:55Speaker 2: best player in the Major League right now. What's the
- 52:58Speaker 2: gap between him and number two? Or do you think
- 53:00Speaker 2: or do you even think he's number one?
- 53:02Speaker 5: Well, he's a unicorn, so yeah, he's going to be
- 53:05Speaker 5: considered number one because of that. He's able to do
- 53:10Speaker 5: two things pitch at a high level and obviously slug
- 53:13Speaker 5: and hit at a high level. I mean, you know, ultimately,
- 53:18Speaker 5: you know, is he going to win the cy Young
- 53:20Speaker 5: and the MVP both? And I think we can really
- 53:23Speaker 5: look at it and say he's the greatest player who
- 53:24Speaker 5: ever played, period and end the debate or conversation. We're
- 53:28Speaker 5: not there yet, but I will push back on the
- 53:31Speaker 5: people think that Otani should be the MVP every year regardless.
- 53:35Speaker 5: I don't believe that. I think there has to be
- 53:37Speaker 5: a context to someone's season. Yes, he's doing something that's incredible,
- 53:44Speaker 5: but there was no doubt in my mind that Aaron
- 53:46Speaker 5: Judge was the American League MVP. He played in a
- 53:49Speaker 5: meaningful games all year long. The Angel season was over
- 53:53Speaker 5: in May, and I'm not saying that Oldtani's still, you know,
- 53:57Speaker 5: not facing competition or doing what he did, But there's
- 54:00Speaker 5: a big difference when you're twenty games out and playing
- 54:03Speaker 5: for the division in September. There's just a big difference
- 54:06Speaker 5: in how you approach your bats in the game and
- 54:10Speaker 5: you know the pressure level that's involved.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Do you feel like he goes once he hits free agency?
- 54:15Speaker 2: Do you feel like he goes back to the Angels
- 54:17Speaker 2: like if you heard if he's happy not happy?
- 54:19Speaker 4: And do you feel like he could be the first
- 54:20Speaker 4: half billion dollar guy?
- 54:22Speaker 5: I think that half billion is the starting point. It
- 54:24Speaker 5: could be even more than that. And you got to
- 54:26Speaker 5: remember it's not just what he does for the team
- 54:30Speaker 5: and in the United States. I mean he's an international guy.
- 54:36Speaker 5: In the WBC, when Japan played in the finals, one
- 54:40Speaker 5: hundred million people in Japan watched the game. Now, what
- 54:43Speaker 5: is that worth for Jersey sales? All kinds of other
- 54:47Speaker 5: things that are going to happen when people take vacations
- 54:50Speaker 5: wherever he's playing, he's on their itinerary. When I saw
- 54:55Speaker 5: it in New York when I worked at news Day
- 54:56Speaker 5: and Matt Sewet played for the Yankees. You know, you
- 55:03Speaker 5: saw all the Japanese signs on the stadium walls all
- 55:07Speaker 5: over Yankee Stadium, and you know when people came on
- 55:11Speaker 5: vacation in New York, going to Yankee Stadium was on
- 55:14Speaker 5: the itinerary, like going to the Empire State Building and
- 55:17Speaker 5: all that kind of stuff. So he generates so much money.
- 55:21Speaker 5: I say, that's a minimum bid of five hundred million,
- 55:24Speaker 5: it might be six.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Hundred that's well go.
- 55:29Speaker 2: And does it matter to a guy like Otani that
- 55:31Speaker 2: California is closer to Japan than say Milwaukee, or even
- 55:37Speaker 2: in New York because it's another four five hours flight.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Does that factor in it all?
- 55:42Speaker 5: I mean, he wanted to come to California from Jump Street,
- 55:45Speaker 5: but I don't know if that's changed. Maybe he says,
- 55:49Speaker 5: and the people talk to him, say, wearing the pinstripes
- 55:52Speaker 5: like Matt Suey wore, and you know all the great
- 55:56Speaker 5: baseball players, and your star would be even bigger in
- 55:59Speaker 5: New York or Los Angeles. You know, I think it's
- 56:02Speaker 5: going to be between the bigger markets New York, Los Angeles.
- 56:06Speaker 5: It could be the Mets could be the Yankees could
- 56:08Speaker 5: be the Dodgers, maybe Chicago, but I don't see it.
- 56:12Speaker 5: I think those are really the three teams other than
- 56:16Speaker 5: the Angels that have the inside track.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Let's talk about the Hall of Fame, as you were
- 56:20Speaker 2: a Hall of Fame voter, and Bonds, Maguire, Sosa, those
- 56:24Speaker 2: three guys specifically all because of pds. They're in that conversation,
- 56:28Speaker 2: but they were the greatest in their day. Do you
- 56:30Speaker 2: feel like they should be in the Hall of Fame?
- 56:32Speaker 5: Absolutely. I voted for them every year on the ballot.
- 56:36Speaker 5: I just I have a harder time. First of all,
- 56:39Speaker 5: none of those guys you mentioned ever were suspended for peds.
- 56:44Speaker 5: I'm not saying that they didn't use it. I'm not naive, Bobby, Okay,
- 56:47Speaker 5: I'm not naive. It was well used during that era
- 56:51Speaker 5: by a lot of players, some who got caught. Remember
- 56:54Speaker 5: there's a Mitchell report out there of one hundred and
- 56:56Speaker 5: fifty missing names, hidden names that we don't know. I
- 56:59Speaker 5: think some of those guys are in the Hall of Fame.
- 57:01Speaker 5: And I can't sit here and say Pudge was under suspicion. Suspicion,
- 57:07Speaker 5: Jeff Bagwell was under suspicion, Mike Piazza was under suspicion
- 57:11Speaker 5: and they were all in the Hall of Fame. So
- 57:13Speaker 5: what are we doing here. Either everybody's out or you
- 57:16Speaker 5: put people in. Now, if you got busted by baseball
- 57:19Speaker 5: once they changed the rules, like a Manny Ramirez or
- 57:24Speaker 5: a Rafael Palmero, those guys got busted. Those guys, I
- 57:28Speaker 5: understand if a writer doesn't want to vote them in,
- 57:31Speaker 5: But the other guys, you can't tell me. Bond's won
- 57:34Speaker 5: three MVP before he even went to San Francisco and
- 57:37Speaker 5: started with experimenting with the juice. Same thing, Roger Clements.
- 57:42Speaker 5: Go watch the video tape when he was in Boston
- 57:45Speaker 5: and won three side youngs and he was skinny as
- 57:47Speaker 5: a rail. Mark McGuire got screwed as well. Mark McGuire
- 57:51Speaker 5: hit forty nine home runs his rookie year. Go watch
- 57:54Speaker 5: the tape, Bobby, go look and see how big Hee was.
- 57:57Speaker 5: This guy was a home run hitter at USC when
- 57:59Speaker 5: he was in college. He didn't take the juice and
- 58:02Speaker 5: become a home run hitter overnight. So I think people
- 58:05Speaker 5: who think that it's just that and that's what made
- 58:08Speaker 5: these guys great are missing the boat. And the other
- 58:11Speaker 5: part is we seem to want to punish the hitters
- 58:14Speaker 5: more than anybody. But Bobby, do your research. More pictures
- 58:17Speaker 5: have been busted on juice than hitters, which tells you
- 58:21Speaker 5: that Bonds was probably facing a lot of guys on
- 58:23Speaker 5: juice when he did his thing.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Pete Rose different but the same.
- 58:28Speaker 5: What do you got, no way, no how, Pete Rose,
- 58:32Speaker 5: It's a different era. You can't go back back then.
- 58:35Speaker 5: Gambling note was prosada non grada. The biggest sign in
- 58:40Speaker 5: the clubhouse all over America was if you gambling, you're
- 58:43Speaker 5: going to be banned from the game. Pete lied about
- 58:46Speaker 5: it for fourteen years. I think if Pete would have
- 58:49Speaker 5: been honest from day one, asked for apologize, ask for forgiveness,
- 58:54Speaker 5: he would be in the Hall of Fame. But he
- 58:56Speaker 5: lied for fourteen years. They had all the goods on him.
- 59:00Speaker 5: And then when they you know, tried to you know,
- 59:02Speaker 5: get up back in their game, then he wrote a
- 59:04Speaker 5: book saying that he did it to try to make money.
- 59:06Speaker 5: I think Pete Rose, he sabotazes his way back in
- 59:10Speaker 5: the hall. Baseball would love to have him in the
- 59:13Speaker 5: Baseball Hall of Fame. But Pete's his own worst enemy.
- 59:16Speaker 5: So I don't see Pete getting it.
- 59:18Speaker 4: What about after he dies?
- 59:20Speaker 5: He's no, I don't. He's already in the Hall of Fame.
- 59:23Speaker 5: Have you been to Cooperstown? Pete roses everywhere, He's all
- 59:26Speaker 5: over Cooperstown. But I don't I don't think he'll have
- 59:29Speaker 5: a play.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Let's switch it up to the NBA playoffs, the Lakers ceiling.
- 59:33Speaker 2: What do you think it is?
- 59:34Speaker 5: Second round? I think they you know, I mean Game
- 59:39Speaker 5: one was a great start. When you get twenty nine
- 59:41Speaker 5: points from a bench player and you shoot fifty four
- 59:46Speaker 5: percent from the field and forty five percent from three
- 59:51Speaker 5: on a road playoff game, you're going to win that.
- 59:54Speaker 5: And now John Moran, you know, has he heard? Is
- 59:56Speaker 5: he not going to play? Or how effective will he be?
- 59:59Speaker 5: So they have a chance there. But I just think
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: the other teams. I think everybody has discounted the Denver
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: Chicken Nuggets. Everybody thinks that they're no good and what
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: they did all year. I think people are now surprised
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: about the Sacramento Kings, and they've played well all year.
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: And people thought that the Golden State Warriors, who were
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: terrible on the road, were just gonna flip a switch
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: and start winning like like there's nobody's business and that
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: hasn't happened. So obviously Phoenix lost Game one to the Clippers.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: They're formidable, and the Clippers have beaten the Lakers like
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: eleven straight times and thirty five out of the last
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: forty some ridiculous number, because they match up well against
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: the Lakers. So if they were to meet, I would
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: take the Clippers. So I don't think they're going to
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: get past the second round.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: You don't think Reeves and Hetchmeror are going to be
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: consistently awesome all playoffs?
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: Uh no, I'm not finding that. They played unbelievable. You
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: know that.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: I listen.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: I bought him. I bought him. I'm gonna admit it.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: I bought him.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: I'm still buying him. I want to talk about Kevin
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Durant though.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: If he wins another championship, where do you think that
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: or does it take him any higher in the all
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: time grades?
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: I do if you can move, you know, move on
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: and win a championship. Remember the Suns went without Kevin Durant,
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: they weren't able to win. He would be the mister
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: fixer upper, like when the Warriors choked down that three
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: to one lead to the Cavs on Lebron Kevin Durant
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: went there. They won two straight championships. You know, they
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: lost the next one where he was hurt and didn't play,
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: So he got a lot of credit for that, and
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: he would get a lot of credit for this if
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: he was able to get there. I don't know if
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: they've had enough time together to gel and make it work.
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: They might not have enough on the fence to beat
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: the Clippers. I like the Clippers a lot. I think
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: they're ten deep. I think ty lewis a fantastic coach.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Living in la I've gotten to watch him more and more.
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: I think he's tremendous.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Final question, just kind of about your home, the Lions.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: What Campbell's doing up there. Do you feel more bullish
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: than you ever have?
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: No? You know what I need to see this year.
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: One year is not enough we've seen in the NFL.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: I mean, everybody's celebrating in Detroit. They were nine and seven, right,
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: nine and eight, and they did make the playoffs. So
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: let's see if you could take that to the next
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: year and actually improve and make the playoffs. If they
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: do that, then they have something going if they fall
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: back and it's back to the same old Lions football.
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: I mean, this is a franchise that has one playoff
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: win since nineteen fifty seven, and that was nineteen ninety one.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: It's been a long time in coming. So they got
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: to put together more than a random one season where things,
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: you know, were better than they normally are. We need
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: to see two or three of them and then I
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: believe they're on the right track.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: As I mentioned earlier, he has the site mlbbro dot com.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: He's a founder and editor. He's an MLB Network analyst.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Inside the Rob Parker is the podcast on Cowhurt's podcast network,
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Inside the Rob Parker, But where I hear him is
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: the Odd Couple of Christmas.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Are you everywhere? You're right here.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: I appreciate you, big fan, Rob, and hopefully we'll talk
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: to you soon.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: All right, Bobby, thank you so much. We'll talk again,
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: see you, buddy.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Hey, thanks to Rob for coming on, and let's get
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: over to our final thoughts. First of all, the stories
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: the Grids beat the Lakers last night one oh three
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: ninety three.
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: I was an idiot. I was like, there's no way
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: that the Laker's gonna run without jaw.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: You know, we talked about villains earlier.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: Man.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: You know, there's a kind of a relationship I have
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: with people that annoy me in sports, and it goes
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: from they're annoying, shut out, nobody cares too.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: I don't think I like them too. I hate him. Two, Okay,
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: that's funny.
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: Two.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: You know what, I like him and I've done this.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: I mean, Dylan Brooks is that guy right now, hilarious,
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: like just going app going at Lebron. He's like, I
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: don't care, He's like he's old that. I mean, he
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: talks cap to everybody. And I'm starting to go positive.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: Dylan Brooks. I didn't.
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: I didn't like him at all.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: I'm starting to be But I love Pat Bev, I
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: love Draymond Green. Dylan Brooks good in there like he
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: just I guess I like.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: It because he's consistent with it.
- 1:04:10Speaker 9: I agree.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: As long as you're consistent and you're not just a
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: fair weather trash talker when times are good, if you're
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: just gonna go and that's just you, I'm okay with that.
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: I'm down.
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: I love Dyaling.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: Dylan Brooks is good.
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: It's entertaining for me h.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: So you know, him and Lebron went at it and
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I want to play this for you. This is Dylan
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Brooks and they were talking about the game afterward.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: I don't care. He's old, you know what I mean.
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: That's I was waiting for that. I respect him to
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: do that. Game four, Game five. He wanted to say
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: something when.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: I got my four file, and then he went on
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: to say he won't respect Lebron until he scores forty
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: against him.
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: I pulled bears.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: I don't respect no one until they come and give
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: me forty.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: He's got the white glasses on, he got the dB
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: chain on, he got I mean, he's so it that
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I'm into it now.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: So I'm not rooting for the grid for the Lakers.
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: Bye.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: I kind of love that you got three games tonight,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: Sixers and nets, Kings and Warriors. Sacramento's up two. Oh,
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: but they are going back to Golden State, Uh Phoenix
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: and the Clippers and that is at one to one.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: All right, Final thoughts, Final thoughts of the show. We
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: had a good one though today, thanks to our guests
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: for stopping. Buy is a really good one.
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: Kevin, Mine is a shout out and a good luck
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: actually to Mike d this weekend running that marathon and
- 1:05:27Speaker 8: everybody else out here in national running the marathon. I've
- 1:05:29Speaker 8: done half a couple of times and that is brutal.
- 1:05:31Speaker 8: So Mike, good luck and kudos to you man.
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: Thanks, I'm ready.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: It's like a Sunday at three pm and Mike's like,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: just did a run and you look at his he
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: doesn't talk about his uh They're call him breaks splits, yeah, splits.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: And it's like eighteen miles at eight point oh eight
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: a mon. I'm like, you know, an eight minute miles
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: for that long. It's crazy. The runner Mike is just
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: quietly too, but everything he does is quiet.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: But I did mean a guy.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: It's like, I'm running the marathon this weekend. I was like, okay,
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: I've been trying so hard for it. But it was
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: actually the half marathon, and I feel like you have
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: to say the word half.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: If you're running the halfway, you gotta say half.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: It's a difference, absolutely yeah. And he kept talking about
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: how he's gonna run. He was, he was doing the marathon,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: and I think maybe by him going doing it, he
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: was doing the marathon.
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: But I knew he was doing the half.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: You have to put that word half in there, even
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: if you try to get arounded by saying do in
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: the marathon, if you run the half, say the half.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: And that's a big deal. Most of it runs ten
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: miles of the time.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I've never done a half marathon, but otherwise I'm gonna
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: think you're run over twenty.
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: Yeah, so you have to say half.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: I want to say something to him about and I
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: ain't care that much, but yeah, might kill it, buddy.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: My final thought is for Reid, who's here and runs
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: our cameras. And I gave Read little crap because I
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: saw I shot thirty over the other day. But Reid
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: also played high school golf and I've seen him play
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: pretty good before, and he shot thirty over. Eddie and
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: I went to play the Vanderbilt course yesterday and I
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: shot like twenty over, and I was like, I deserve to.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: Have crap talked about me like I did. Read played
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: pretty terrible.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: It is the first time I got to play a
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: full round in months, because the last few times I've played,
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: it's rained on us every time.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Four in a row.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: We went four times in a row and it rained
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: us out every time. Really, Jordan Davis and I try
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: to go play. We played two holes and it rained
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: us out. We went for my birthday to chattanoogat we
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: played a few holes, at Rain had to get in
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: the truck, played a few holes, at Rain had to
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: get in the truck. I had to go center. So
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: it was the first time we had played. That's an excuse, absolutely,
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: I just gonna let everybody know that's an excuse.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: I'm with it.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: But yeah, over twenty and we talked about golf earlier
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: with Kevin and Eddie, but over I shot twenty overreads,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: So okay, that's worse than bogie golf. And I don't
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: apologize for what I said to you, but I just
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: want you to know I also played terrible. So we're
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: in that same boat together. It's okay, It's okay, that's
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: my thought. All right, Thank you guys, We really appreciate it.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: We got Dane Brugo coming up on Monday, who's basically
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: built the biggest NFL Draft guide that the world's ever seen.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: And we'll talk to the NFL Draft on Monday or
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: Tuesday whenever we do the show next week, and then
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: the draft is next week as well, So thank you guys.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Follow us at twenty five Whistles and We'll see us soon.
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: Bye.
