- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, May 2nd.
- 0:10Guard your heart. Grow your life.
- 0:13What if the life you are building is not mostly shaped by
- 0:16the big moments everyone sees, but by the small responses?
- 0:19No one notices the way you handle correction, the way you
- 0:24respond when you're stressed, the way you treat people when
- 0:27you're tired, the choices you make when no one is checking on
- 0:30you. All of it matters.
- 0:33Proverbs chapter 15 verses 12 to 13 says, a scoffer does not like
- 0:38to be reproved. He will not go to the wise.
- 0:41A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the
- 0:44spirit is crushed. Psalm chapter 50, verse 15 says,
- 0:49call to me in the day of trouble.
- 0:50I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.
- 0:54And 1st Corinthians chapter 3, verse 13 says each one's work
- 0:58will become manifest for the day, will disclose it because it
- 1:02will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of
- 1:06work each one is done. That is a serious thought, but
- 1:09it is also full of hope. God is not just watching what
- 1:13you build. He is helping you build what
- 1:15lasts. He calls you to be teachable,
- 1:17not because He wants to embarrass you, but because He
- 1:20wants you to grow. He calls you to joy not because
- 1:24life is always easy, but because your heart can be anchored in
- 1:28Him even when your circumstances feel heavy.
- 1:31Maybe today you are dealing with pressure at school, tension at
- 1:34home, drama with friends, uncertainty about your future,
- 1:38or private battles no one knows about.
- 1:41God does not ask you to pretend everything is fine.
- 1:44He says, call to me in the day of trouble.
- 1:47He invites you to bring Him the real struggle, the real fear,
- 1:50the real frustration. And as you do, He teaches you to
- 1:54build differently. Not on pride, not on impulse,
- 1:57not on temporary attention, but on humility, wisdom, joy, and
- 2:01faithfulness. Let's pray, Heavenly Father,
- 2:05help me guard my heart and build my life on what matters to You.
- 2:08Make me teachable when correction comes, joyful when
- 2:11life feels heavy, and faithful in the choices I make each day.
- 2:16When I am in trouble, remind me to call on You.
- 2:18Instead of carrying everything alone, build something lasting
- 2:21in me for your glory in Jesus name, Amen.
- 2:26What if the battles hitting your family are not random and your
- 2:29home can become a place where darkness loses every right to
- 2:32stay? The Secured Home is a powerful

- 3:29Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 3:32Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 15 verses 12 to
- 3:3813 World English Bible A scoffer doesn't love to be reproved.
- 3:43He will not go to the wise. A glad heart makes a cheerful
- 3:47face, but an aching heart breaks the spirit.
- 3:49Psalm Chapter 50 World English Bible A Psalm by a SAF.
- 3:55The mighty One God, Yahweh speaks and calls the earth from
- 3:58sunrise to sunset. Out of Zion the perfection of
- 4:02beauty God shines out. Our God comes and does not keep
- 4:05silent. A fire devours before him.
- 4:09It is very stormy around him. He calls to the heavens above,
- 4:13to the earth, that he may judge His people.
- 4:16Gather my Saints together to me, those who have made a covenant
- 4:19with me by sacrifice. The heavens shall declare His
- 4:23righteousness, for God himself is judge.
- 4:26Selah here my people, and I will speak.
- 4:29Israel, I will testify against you.
- 4:31I am God, your God. I don't rebuke you for your
- 4:34sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are
- 4:36continually before me. I have no need for a bull from
- 4:40your stall, nor male goats from your pens.
- 4:43For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on
- 4:461000 hills I know all the birds of the mountains, the wild
- 4:51animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not
- 4:55tell you, for the world is mine and all that is in it.
- 4:58Will I eat the meat of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
- 5:02Offer to God the sacrifice of Thanksgiving.
- 5:05Pay your vows to the Most High. Call on me in the day of
- 5:08trouble. I will deliver you, and you will
- 5:11honor me. But to the wicked God says, What
- 5:14right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my
- 5:17covenant on your lips, since you hate instruction, and throw my
- 5:21words behind you? When you saw a thief, you
- 5:25consented with him and have participated with adulterers.
- 5:28You give your mouth to evil, your tongue frames deceit.
- 5:32You sit and speak against your brother.
- 5:34You slander your own mother's son.
- 5:37You have done these things, and I kept silent.
- 5:39You thought that I was just like you.
- 5:41I will rebuke you and accuse you in front of your eyes.
- 5:45Now consider this, You forget God, lest I tear you into pieces
- 5:49and there be no one to deliver. Whoever offers the sacrifice of
- 5:53Thanksgiving glorifies me and prepares his way so that I will
- 5:57show God's salvation to him. First Corinthians chapter 3
- 6:01World English Bible Brothers, I couldn't speak to you as to
- 6:06spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ.
- 6:10I fed you with milk, not with solid food, for you weren't yet
- 6:13ready. Indeed you aren't ready even
- 6:16now, for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is
- 6:19jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren't you fleshly?
- 6:23And don't you walk in the ways of men?
- 6:26For when one says I follow Paul and another I follow Apollo's,
- 6:30aren't you fleshly? Who then is Apollo's?
- 6:32And who is Paul? But servants through whom you
- 6:35believed, And each as the Lord gave to him.
- 6:38I planted, Apollo's watered, but God gave the increase.
- 6:42So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but
- 6:46God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who
- 6:50waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward
- 6:53according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers.
- 6:57You are God's farming, God's building, according to the grace
- 7:01of God which was given to me as a wise master builder.
- 7:05I laid a foundation and another builds on it.
- 7:08But let each man be careful how he builds on it, for no one can
- 7:12lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which
- 7:16is Jesus Christ. But if anyone builds on the
- 7:19foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or
- 7:24straw, each man's work will be revealed for the day.
- 7:28We'll declare it because it is revealed in fire, and the fire
- 7:32itself will test what sort of work each man's work is.
- 7:36If any man's work remains which he built on it, he will receive
- 7:39a reward. If any man's work is burned, he
- 7:42will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved.
- 7:45But as through fire, don't you know that you are God's temple
- 7:49and that God's Spirit lives in you?
- 7:51If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him.
- 7:54For God's temple is holy, which you are.
- 7:57Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise
- 8:02among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may
- 8:05become wise. For the wisdom of this world is
- 8:08foolishness with God. For it is written, he has taken
- 8:12the wise in their craftiness. And again, the Lord knows the
- 8:15reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.
- 8:18Therefore let no one boast in men, for all things are yours,
- 8:22whether Paul or Apollo's, or Cephas, or the world, or life,
- 8:26or death, or things present, or things to come, all are yours,
- 8:30and you are Christ S and Christ is God's.
