- 0:00SPEAKER_00: What if I told you that the companies, the same companies that spent decades engineering cigarettes to be as addictive as a human being can stand, now brought you food.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: This is something that I scripted earlier.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I'm reading it now just so you know.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: That's hence where the eyes are focused.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: I will break away from time to time during this talk and give you other things in addition to that I didn't prepare in this more spontaneously.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: So these companies, they bring you food too, the ones that manufactured cigarettes.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Not a conspiracy, but I have a receipt.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: So in the 1980s, the cigarette giants, Philip Morris and RJ Reynolds, bought Kraft, General Foods, and Nabisco, Oreos, Launchables, Mac, and Cheese, Jello, Chips, Ahoy.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: The people who cracked the coat on nicotine got handed your dinner table.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: And the food that they owned got measurably more engineered to make you overeat than the food they didn't touch.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: And that's a study.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: That's not just me guessing.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: And what if I told you that your own body is on their side, that your body doesn't actually want to lose this fat?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: It thinks the fat is actually savings.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: It thinks that winter is coming and it will fight you every day to keep it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And what if I told you the reason for that goes back further than cigarettes, further than grocery stores, further than farming itself.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: As a species, we've spent far more of our time on this earth starving than we have been fed.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: So the body built defenses against starvation, deep in the wiring, older than language.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And here's the part that should scare you and free you at the very same time.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: It takes almost nothing to convince the body that famine has come back.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: One skipped meal and the alarm goes off.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: We have so much more time being in a starvation state than we do a fed state.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's just this much having all the food in abundance that we've had.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Plus, now it's engineered to be completely addictive and create sickness, whereas before we went a long time between meals.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: So put those three things in one room: the body that panics at the first missed meal, a survival program screaming at you to eat the densest, sweetest, fattiest things you can find, and an industry that spent billions on building exactly that food to hit exactly that panic button.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: It's not that you're weak and you're not broken.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: We were just all set up.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: So I weighed 287.6 this morning.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Eight days ago I was 315 pounds.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Now it's 27 pounds that I dropped in eight days.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And before you get excited and impressed for me, I'm going to tell you the truth about that number because the number is about to start lying to me, and I would rather you hear it from me first.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Most of those 27 pounds were water, inflammation, the swelling that refined foods leave in my body, like a tenant who trashes the apartment and skips out on the rent.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: You stop feeding the machine the garbage and the swelling drains out.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: It feels like a miracle.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: No more joint pain.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I can bend over a lot easier.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: I can put my socks on without falling over.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: My feet don't look like, you know, two swollen, puffy loaves of bread.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: It's not a miracle, but it's plumbing.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: The fat comes off slower.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: The fat comes off like it owes you money and keeps saying that it's going to pay for itself on Friday.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Let me show you where I exactly am, because where I am is the most dangerous place in the entire fight to lean out.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: And today I'm going to show you the voice that uses all of this against you.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Right at the moment, you start to feel good.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: You start to feel confident.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: You start to feel, finally, I've got this.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Because that's when it comes.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: It doesn't come on the hard day.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: It comes on days like today, which where I'm feeling wonderful.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome to day eight.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: The halfway line is where you end up getting torched.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Now, I'm at the halfway line, but not time-wise, poundage-wise.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: 27 pounds down, 27 pounds to go to get to 260.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: So I'm right in the middle.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: And that middle is where I start to get lied to.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: It's not at the beginning.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: This has only been a few days.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: If I expect to drop another 27 pounds in another few days, that's not going to happen.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: This is going to take weeks from this point.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: The beginning is easy.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: I know that sounds insane to anybody who's not started yet, but the start's really the easy part.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: At the start, you're pissed off, you're angry, you're motivated.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: You have your own reasons, reasons that you'll probably forget over time.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: The swelling has dropped, the scale's paying to you out every single morning like a slot machine that only wins.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: The start is definitely a honeymoon.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I was down about a pound from yesterday, but before that, I was down three pounds.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Before that, 10 pounds.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: It's remarkable.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: So again, payoffs, payoffs, payoffs.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: The middle's different, though.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: The middle is where you're going to meet the voice, and today, day eight, is when I want to talk about that voice because I've been here before.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I've failed before.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: I failed many times before.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Now I had a major chunk of it off, and that's true.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: I went from 365 to about 235, 240 pounds.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: I can teach you to recognize it before it gets into you.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: I might save you the relapse that I've walked into more times than I want to admit on camera.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Now, the voice.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: What it is and why it sounds like you.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing about the voice that you have to understand.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: The voice isn't a stranger.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: It's not a devil on your shoulder with a pitchfork with the good angel on one side and the bad angel on another.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: It doesn't sound evil.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: That's the whole trick.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: The voice sounds like you, it's your voice.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: It sounds reasonable, it sounds kind, it sounds like the most loving, supportive friend you've ever had in your life.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: And it shows up about right now, day eight, day 10, 12, 13, two, three weeks in.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Because you have, I have six, eight, ten more weeks to go.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: But it waits until I feel good because feeling good is the opening that it actually needs.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: And it says things like, it says, Well, look how well you've done.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: 27 pounds.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: You're practically a new person already.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: So it starts to negotiate deals.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Hey, maybe today you have some donuts.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, you just start, start again at the next meal, or don't even eat the rest of the day.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Just start again tomorrow.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: And it just continues.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: It says you deserve a break.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: This has been so hard.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: You've been so disciplined.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Discipline like that deserves a reward.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: And it might not even be your own voice.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: It could be people around you.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: They're going to tell you, hey, you know, God, my God, it's amazing.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Look at your face.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Everything leans out.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: You're not puffy around the eyes.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: It says just one.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: One meal, one night, one event.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: You've earned it.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: One isn't going to undo everything.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I might put on 10 pounds of water in the next 24 hours if I break it.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: The math doesn't even work that way, so let's be reasonable.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: It says it's been weeks.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: You're a new creature now.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: The old rules, well, they were for the old you.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: You got this.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Finally, Connor, you figured it out.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Well, here's what makes that so dangerous.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Every one of those things is true.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: I have done well.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: True.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: I do deserve rest.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Maybe true.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: One meal isn't going to technically erase eight days of fat loss.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Also true.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: I'm becoming a different person.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Yep, I'm on my road.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: And then I try to justify, well, I'm going to have a long time and have the rest of my life doing this.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: So, you know, it's okay right now because I'm just going to continue.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that hasn't been, that hasn't been the practice of my past.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: The practice of my past is, let me stop this.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: The practice of my past is I get down and then slowly I eke up.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So instead of more good time than bad time, now it's more bad time than good time.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: And slowly the scale starts to increase over time.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: It isn't until some moment that I catch it.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: But thank God the catching is still there.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: What if the catching wasn't there?
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: What if I just didn't care?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: What if I blew it off?
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: What if I said, you know what, just forget this whole thing.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I'm going to be happy with who I am.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: This is difficult.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: It's not easy.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: So I'm just going to continue this process and just, you know, continue to eat whatever the hell I want because life is short.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: We've earned it.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: And who knows?
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: With all this stuff happening in the world, maybe, maybe we're not going to be around too long.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And I should just be my best and enjoy myself.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of pain that comes with being my best and enjoying myself because I look at that from a fed state and realistically, I function much better when I'm not so much feeding.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: So let me get back to you.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Now, your voice, it doesn't lie to you, it tells you true things and it aims them at your throat.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Now, it takes everything true about your progress and it uses it to walk you right back to the thing that was killing you.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Now, here's a reframe.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And this is biology, not weakless.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: I'm going to give you something because I'm done with that kind of recovery that just screams at you harder.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: When that voice shows up, you're not failing, you're not weak.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: It's not that you're lacking willpower.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: What's actually happening is this your body has noticed that you're losing fat.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: And your body does not know the fat was trying to kill you.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: It doesn't realize how bad you felt.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Your body thinks the fat is savings.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Your body thinks winter's coming.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Your body thinks that you're starving in a cave somewhere, and it's trying to save your life.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: So it sends the signals.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: It floods you with the urge to eat sweet, eat fat, eat dense, eat the foods that pack the most stored energy into the smallest bite.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: And it's never a craving for celery.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Have you noticed that?
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: It's always cake.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: It's always donuts.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Always because craving is a survival program written before grocery stores existed, and the food conglomerates are manipulating us with that very information.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Running on hardware that has no idea famine is fake.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: That's the honest mechanism.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Your brain is defending you against the starvation that's not happening, and the voice is that defense program.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Wearing your voice that makes you want to trust it.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: So here's why that matters.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: And it's not soft, it's actually tactical and strategic.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: If you think the voice is you, you're gonna negotiate with it because you negotiate with yourself all day long.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: That's normal.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: But if you understand the voice is a survival alarm that is just wrong about the facts, you stop negotiating.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: You don't sit down and argue with a smoke alarm in a house that's not on fire.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: You do not go.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Well, you make some good points.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: The check that there is no fire, you check it, and then you keep moving.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: And one more thing, and this should make you angry because anger is really useful here.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: That's a very powerful emotion.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: The food industry knows about this, about this program.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: They engineer food to hit it directly.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: They tune that sugar and the fat and the salt to get to something called a bliss point.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: And the crunch, and that bliss point, you know, it's something that nature can't reach.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Anything normal in nature doesn't have a bliss point like the food that they're making for us.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: Same way a slot machine is tuned to keep you pulling that lever.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: That payoff is there.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: A strawberry can't complete with something built in a lab that override the exact breaks your body uses to say, stop.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: You were not weak.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: You were outmatched by a building full of scientists who were paid to beat you.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: And for a long time they did.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: But now you know how it works.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Now it's more of a fair fight.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Now, let me give you something else.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: The slip versus the story.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you the pattern I've watched for years, and other people, and in my own mirror.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: The people who relapse and treat it as proof that they are garbage, they spiral.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: They have the one cheat and the voice flips instantly.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: It stopped being the kind of kind friend and it becomes a prosecutor.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: See, it says, you did it again.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: You always do this.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: You're weak and you will always be fat, so why are you even bothering?
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: And because this hurts so much, what do they reach for to make the hurt stop?
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: The exact thing that caused it, the food.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: So the one bite becomes three days, becomes the whole thing abandoned.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: The people who stay clean do something almost boring instead.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: They slip, they treat it like a data.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Huh?
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: That happened?
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Well, what set it up?
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Where was I?
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Who was I with?
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: What was I feeling?
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: What had I not eaten that left me wide open?
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And then they stop.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Same day, same hour if they can.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: They don't wait for Monday.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: If they can spit the food out, they do.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: They do not declare the week ruined and eat their way to a fresh start on the first of the month.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Here's the line I want you to keep.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: A slip is one bite that went wrong.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: A relapse is the story you tell yourself about that bite.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: The bite costs you almost nothing.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: The story.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: It costs you everything.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: It's the multiple bites, the multiple meals, the multiple days, the multiple hours of indulgence.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: You build that skill because it's a real skill.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: You catch yourself mid-bite of the thing you swore off of and you stop chewing.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: You spit it out, you trash napkin sink, I don't care.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: You don't finish it.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: It feels insane the first time.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: We're all trained since we were kids that wasting food is wrong.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Throw it away anyway.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: The lesson your body needs to learn is that that bite doesn't have to become the meal.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: You can stop in the middle.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Most people have never once stopped in the middle.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: The first time you do, you learn something about yourself.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: No book can teach you.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: The scale's gonna lie.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Let me call this in advance.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: I told you 27 of my pounds were water, all of it, most of it.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Here's what that means for what's coming.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Fat doesn't leave in a straight line.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: You can you lose fat four days straight and watch the scale go up because your body's holding water for reasons that have nothing to do with fat.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: Stress holds water, bad sleep holds water, a hard workout holds water, salt holds water, your hormones hold water on a schedule you don't actually control.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: The scale measures all of it once, hands you one number, and then your brain reads the number as a verdict on whether you're a good person.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: It's not a verdict, it's a snapshot of your hydration at a random moment.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Here's the part I need you to hear because I'm calling it before it happens.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: The people who quit almost never quit on a hard hunger day.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: They quit on a flat scale week.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Now, they're doing everything right.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: The fat's leaving, the scale just sits there for five days because your body's holding water.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: And the voice walks in and says, see, it's not even working.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: You're suffering for nothing.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: You might as well eat.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: So I'm telling you now on day eight before it happens.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: So when it happens, you remember that I called it out first.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Your scale's going to stall.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: It might go up.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: It doesn't mean you failed.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: It will mean you're a human being made mostly of water, doing the exact thing that works on a day your body decided to hold on to a little extra.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Weigh weekly if that daily number messes with your head.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Watch two weeks, not two days.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: And measure your waste because the waste tells the truth when the scale is in a mood.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: My real goal is not even 260.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: My real goal is a 33, 34-inch waste.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: My 260 is just a number I expect to see on the floor when the waste gets there.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: But I'll have to adjust if that's not the case.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Cut the contact.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Environment beats power.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: So some of the pressure is coming from inside you.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: We cover that.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Some of it's coming from outside.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: And that needs a different tool.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Nobody hands a recovering alcoholic a drink and says, come on, just one.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: You've been so good.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: They know instantly how cruel the world is.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: But people will hand a food addict a plate at every birthday, every holiday, every meeting, and they push, and then they make fun of us behind our back.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: And then they take it personally when you say no.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: And you're no fun anymore.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: One bite's not going to kill you.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: The people usually feeding you this, they're skinny.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: I've made this especially for you.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Here's the hard part.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: Sometimes the person pushing the food loves you and they show food love with food.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: And right now, still, right now in this stretch, you might need to put distance between yourself and that table while your new platform hardens into something that you can survive contact with these people.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Not forever, not with cruelty, but you're allowed to decline the dinner, skip the party, step back from a contact for a few weeks.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: You don't owe anybody your relapse.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: You don't owe anybody a bite to make them comfortable.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: And if a certain person or a certain place reliably ends with you eating the thing you swore off, that's not that is not a coincidence that you can willpower your way through forever.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Change the environment.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Environment beats willpower every single time the two go to war.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: Stop sending your willpower into a fight that you could win, not just by walking into a room.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Feeling good is the test.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Remember your why.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Here's the cruelest part of the timing.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: And then I'm gonna let you go.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: The voice waits for you to feel good before it strikes.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: It doesn't hit on the worst day.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: On the worst day, you're too miserable and too stubborn and too hangry to listen.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: It waits until the swelling is down and your face looks different, and your clothes fit looser, and the energy comes back and the headache is gone.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: It waits until you have something to lose, and then it leans in and it whispers what you you know that you've done so well.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: You can afford to stop doing the thing that got you there.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Here's the moment.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Not on the hard day, the good day.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: The good day is when you double down, when you not when you coast.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: The good day is the test, and the test is disguised as a reward.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: So remember your why, not the poster version, the real one.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: I want my waist back.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: I want to fit into my own clothes.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: I want to not hurt.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: I want the years that overconsumption was quietly stealing from me.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: The one nobody warns you about because the theft is so slow.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: The body doesn't want to lose the fat.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: And fine.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: The body is wrong about the famine.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: I know something the body does not know.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: I know there's no winter coming.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I know the cave is a kitchen, and the kitchen is full of food.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: I'm at the halfway line.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: The easy half is behind me.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: The half that builds the man that's in front of me.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: And the voice is going to get louder from here, not quieter, because it can help it can feel me getting close.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: So let it get loud.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: It still sounds like me, but it's still wrong, and I'm still going.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: You don't have to look for your why, you just have to embrace your do.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: There's a lot more time on the other end of this from day eight.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: It's going to take more time.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: It's going to take weeks of time now.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: Now I'm going to watch, even if I do everything correctly with this fasting that I do.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: And before you begin any event, you want to talk to your doctor.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: But even with that type of not eating for three or four days in a row and then having some nice good refeed meals that are very, very anti-carb, very just whole foods, eggs, meat, fish, maybe some cheese, maybe some onions.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: But that's it on the refeed days.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: Paying attention to the protein amount and these sorts of things.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: But even with that, the best I'm going to do, the best I'm going to do, three quarters to one pound of fat a day.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: And as we talked about before, maybe I have too many onions.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Maybe I have too much fat.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Maybe I have too much of something, but still being in alignment, then that next day I weigh and the scale hasn't moved at all.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Or maybe went up a pound or two because I drank extra water or whatever it may be.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Freak out point?
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Absolutely not.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Time now does it.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Boring time as time progresses.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: If you get into the loop, keep looping.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: You get to the loop of just doing that same thing, that same way, every day with rote.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: After you get to your day eight, you'll succeed.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: And then when you get through it, there'll come a time when you're going to maybe change something else.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: Maybe the you're to the point where you want to be.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: That's a whole nother preparation.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: But do that as you go on your journey.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: I have eight weeks to make these adjustments, maybe ten more weeks to drop another 30 pounds, even though that first eight days I dropped practically 30.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: That's that's time.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Time in grade.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: And I will work on that.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Now I've been here before, I've done this before.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: And I just don't want to have to do it again.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Maybe I won't.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Maybe the changes that I make now are gonna stay with me.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Maybe me saying, you know, there's not really even a little bit at most times.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Maybe reserving two or three times a year to have some fruit or have some honey or to have some nonsense.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's okay.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: But I I can't start really thinking about that stuff until I get to where I need to be.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: And then maybe it'll be so awesome having that 34, 33-inch waist, wearing jeans and such like that.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Maybe that'll be a better place than even imbibing in that donut at that one moment.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Because when you're going to eat something that normally you wouldn't, maybe you normally wouldn't drink bleach.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Maybe you have that mindset now.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Maybe normally you wouldn't snort a line of cocaine.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Maybe you wouldn't inject heroin.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: And I know I'm speaking it as this as if you wouldn't.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: There's some people watching that might.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: But me, I just wouldn't do it.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't drink any bleach, I wouldn't inject any heroin, I wouldn't snort any cocaine.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Over this time, my mindset can become the donut is like that.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Nothing good comes out of a donut.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Now a couple hard boiled eggs.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: There's some good there because it does do things to the body that that helps the body become better.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor, thelastaddiction.com.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you for watching.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: We'll see you tomorrow, and I will do my best to be good.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: We'll see you in the next one.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: Thanks for watching.
