Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Three weeks in and we're already on an international break.
- 0:03Speaker 1: We're taking stock by talking wild cards is big at
- 0:07Speaker 1: the back back and we're desperate for Trenton Sellar after
- 0:10Speaker 1: Liverpool's strong starts. Hello and welcome back to the FPL pod.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You know the drill by. Now it's an international break,
- 0:22Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean that we are going anywhere. San
- 0:24Speaker 1: boron field tune and Lao alongside me, Sam. How are
- 0:26Speaker 1: we already at the first international break? I don't know.
- 0:30Speaker 1: It feels really quick, doesn't it. Like last year was
- 0:32Speaker 1: after game week five? I think, so it's after game
- 0:34Speaker 1: week three. It feels really early this year. But it's
- 0:37Speaker 1: nice to stop and have a breath and reflect. I guess, yeah,
- 0:40Speaker 1: let's reflect a bit. Juells morning, how are you feel
- 0:42Speaker 1: about your team?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Well, it was not a great week sixty six. I
- 0:46Speaker 2: mean it's not bad sixty six, just slightly above average.
- 0:50Speaker 2: But there's obviously players in and that's the good thing
- 0:52Speaker 2: I guess about this international breaks that you can look
- 0:55Speaker 2: at your players and people that you fancied at the
- 0:57Speaker 2: start of this season and now after three games you
- 0:59Speaker 2: have a bit of a feeling of who's doing well,
- 1:02Speaker 2: what team are doing well. What's working was not working
- 1:04Speaker 2: for you, but also for the real players and the
- 1:06Speaker 2: real managers in real life, not just in the game.
- 1:09Speaker 3: So it's a good time for something.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It might be a bit early to change everything and
- 1:13Speaker 2: play worldouts. Some want to wait follow the next international
- 1:16Speaker 2: break next month, which will arrive.
- 1:18Speaker 1: That's that's what you do, isn't it. Yeah?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Usually I like it, but others might feel like right
- 1:24Speaker 2: now is the time to change five, six, seven, eight
- 1:27Speaker 2: players whatever you want in your squad. So it's a
- 1:30Speaker 2: good time because I think you've you have a bit
- 1:32Speaker 2: of a trend now of what's been working. You see
- 1:34Speaker 2: the team that do well, the ones that maybe are
- 1:36Speaker 2: on the web, the ones on the way down. Even
- 1:38Speaker 2: after three games, you got more of a feeling, really
- 1:40Speaker 2: than a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:42Speaker 1: How are you feeling about your teams?
- 1:43Speaker 3: Then?
- 1:44Speaker 1: I still really like my team. There's a couple of
- 1:46Speaker 1: players in there that I would happily swop for somebody else.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I feel a bit bad. I'd really like a new goalkeeper.
- 1:56Speaker 3: That's nothing new.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I don't think you'll be on your so much like
- 1:59Speaker 1: I with the same goalkeeper as you at the start.
- 2:01Speaker 1: No one knows, Kelly. I mean me and goalkeepers. We
- 2:04Speaker 1: have a very much a love hate relationship and I
- 2:07Speaker 1: love them, they seem to hate me and bringing me
- 2:09Speaker 1: any points. So I would like to change my goalkeeper.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I feel like I had the strategy right in pre
- 2:15Speaker 1: season when I had Reya for all that time and
- 2:17Speaker 1: then saved the money and went instead with Henderson, and
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'd really like to fix that. And there are a
- 2:24Speaker 1: couple of other positions where I'm kind of looking and
- 2:25Speaker 1: going Barco for example, now that he's gone headache, I'd
- 2:32Speaker 1: like to sort that. But the rest of my team
- 2:34Speaker 1: I'm looking at and I'm thinking with the exception of Salah,
- 2:36Speaker 1: who I'd obviously like, but don't have the rest of them,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I'm still quite happy with. Okay, Well, we'll come on
- 2:42Speaker 1: to our teams in a bit more detail, maybe our
- 2:44Speaker 1: plans for them very shortly. Do you know what I'm
- 2:46Speaker 1: going to do this early on because I did it
- 2:48Speaker 1: very late in the last podcast. Let's check in with
- 2:49Speaker 1: the FPL pod Mini League. I'm meant to do that
- 2:51Speaker 1: at the beginning, so I'll follow instructions today. A reminder
- 2:54Speaker 1: if you haven't joined our o J it's Q seven
- 2:56Speaker 1: y c zero and there's actually some new at the top.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I and a Langer.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Their team, Young Bucks had a game week score of
- 3:05Speaker 1: ninety eight, so close to that one hundred. They did
- 3:07Speaker 1: play their free hit chip, meaning they had all three
- 3:10Speaker 1: of the week's top scoring players and very jealous of
- 3:12Speaker 1: this in Salah, Harland and Boomer Iander has now plaid
- 3:16Speaker 1: both their free hit and triple captain chip in the
- 3:19Speaker 1: opening three game weeks of the season. But I'm guessing
- 3:21Speaker 1: I also triple captain Harland the week before, so that's
- 3:24Speaker 1: probably two very very good uses of chips. James White
- 3:27Speaker 1: is in second his team is Joe Linton Enjoyer guessing
- 3:30Speaker 1: a Newcastle fan. They've got ninety seven points for the week,
- 3:33Speaker 1: but it's been chip happy so far, playing the wild
- 3:36Speaker 1: card for game week three and the three hit and
- 3:37Speaker 1: bench boot chips in game weeks one and two. That
- 3:40Speaker 1: means he now and he has triple captain to play. Also,
- 3:43Speaker 1: big shout out to Brett wind him in eighth place,
- 3:45Speaker 1: the only manager in our top ten to reach the
- 3:48Speaker 1: all important one hundred club this week. He got one
- 3:50Speaker 1: hundred and two points and triple captain Harland for his
- 3:53Speaker 1: second hat trick. Of the season. It's already getting very
- 3:56Speaker 1: interesting at the top. So in terms of our mini league,
- 3:58Speaker 1: for once, I got the most out of the three
- 4:01Speaker 1: of us, I should say four, because he's still in
- 4:02Speaker 1: our league. We won't mention him because well, in fact,
- 4:05Speaker 1: we have to mention it. And why do I make
- 4:07Speaker 1: me and jewles because he.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Was terrible this week because he didn't captain Harland, Yes exactly,
- 4:12Speaker 2: that's why right to be clever?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Didn't he?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah, too clever? And you know and come on.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, what you're doing? Won't let you back on this podcast.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And I'm joking, I'm being mean as well. And yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I got seventy eight somehow, which was quite useful, to
- 4:26Speaker 1: be honest, because I had a bit of a poor
- 4:27Speaker 1: start to the season. Sam still LEAs the way with
- 4:30Speaker 1: sixty nine points two hundred and eighteen overall. I'm in
- 4:33Speaker 1: second place on two hundred and seven overall. Jeweles got
- 4:35Speaker 1: sixty six for the game because he said, and he's
- 4:38Speaker 1: on two hundred and five. Would you say at this point, Jules,
- 4:42Speaker 1: you're on course of where you thought you were going
- 4:44Speaker 1: to be. Are you happy with how the start's gone?
- 4:46Speaker 2: I mean, you always won more points obviously, but to
- 4:50Speaker 2: be fair, as we always say, this is a long season,
- 4:53Speaker 2: it's a Martha, and there's plenty more points to get
- 4:56Speaker 2: more players to find.
- 4:58Speaker 3: The only thing I.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Would say right now is because, which is normal a
- 5:01Speaker 2: start of any season, a lot of the managers have
- 5:04Speaker 2: similar players, which is true. You go for the for
- 5:06Speaker 2: the same names, and it's important to find differentials already,
- 5:10Speaker 2: and that's what that's what set you up. Of course,
- 5:12Speaker 2: you can find the right captain and and we've mentioned
- 5:15Speaker 2: Ian and Haland if you if you miss this one out,
- 5:18Speaker 2: then it's hurting you massively. But even outside that, if you,
- 5:22Speaker 2: for example, if you went with Salah and Haland, if
- 5:24Speaker 2: you were either brave enough or if you were happy
- 5:27Speaker 2: with your team with those two, which I wasn't, that's
- 5:29Speaker 2: why I didn't keep that drafting, which maybe I should have,
- 5:32Speaker 2: but at them on the moment, I was just not
- 5:35Speaker 2: happy with the players around them. Then obviously, Salain halland
- 5:39Speaker 2: have forty one points each already in the game. That's
- 5:41Speaker 2: eighty two points just for the two of them. So
- 5:43Speaker 2: it's pretty incredible when you think about it. So you know,
- 5:46Speaker 2: and that's with that captaincy. So this is this is
- 5:50Speaker 2: good if you've started well with those players, if you
- 5:53Speaker 2: had found differentials already, even better. So if you had
- 5:56Speaker 2: well back from the beginning or very very soon after
- 5:59Speaker 2: game with one somebody like that, it's massive. If you
- 6:02Speaker 2: had Trent or the Liverpool defenders, because they're the only
- 6:04Speaker 2: teams who haven't considered yet, obviously that's great.
- 6:07Speaker 3: So it's all of that. So I'm where I am now.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I don't think you can really have any regrets after
- 6:12Speaker 2: three game weeks unless you've played the chip.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And you played it badly.
- 6:16Speaker 2: But outside of that, I don't think I could have
- 6:19Speaker 2: any regrets, and I don't think really anybody should, because
- 6:21Speaker 2: it's only three games. You've tried things that you thought
- 6:24Speaker 2: was good, players that you like, players that you saw
- 6:26Speaker 2: in preseason, player that you saw game WITHK one game
- 6:28Speaker 2: week two, and like we said earlier, now it's the
- 6:31Speaker 2: right time if you want to match adjustment or changes,
- 6:33Speaker 2: food changes, little changes doesn't matter so much. But it's
- 6:36Speaker 2: hard to have regrets after three game weeks really, unless
- 6:40Speaker 2: you've done something silly.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Come on, sure, do we all regret having Barkay from Brighton?
- 6:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:45Speaker 2: But it's on your bench. Yeah, I see, Well, even
- 6:47Speaker 2: of course you do. But he's on your bench, and
- 6:50Speaker 2: I think he could have stayed there. I'm not even
- 6:53Speaker 2: sure even if he had been a Brighton player, how
- 6:55Speaker 2: much we would have played him anyway considering the schedule.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So yeah, you're right, this is one of the little
- 7:01Speaker 2: things maybe you would have done differently. But on the
- 7:03Speaker 2: bigger picture, after three games, I think it's hard to
- 7:06Speaker 2: have really big, big regrets.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I think my big regret is probably not going bold
- 7:10Speaker 1: and doing the Holland and Sala wild Yeah not sorry,
- 7:13Speaker 1: the draft at the beginning of the season. Because those
- 7:16Speaker 1: managers that have got Holland and Sala to this point, Sam,
- 7:19Speaker 1: they've been rewarded, haven't they for stripping the rest of
- 7:21Speaker 1: their team essentially? They have. But also I think if
- 7:26Speaker 1: you had Lewis Dass instead of Sad, we went the
- 7:28Speaker 1: wrong way. Maybe didn't we. Yeah, it didn't feel that
- 7:31Speaker 1: way in game we one did it? Like game week one,
- 7:33Speaker 1: we were all like, okay, well jot, it feels like
- 7:35Speaker 1: it's going to be okay. But game it's two and three.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It's very much been Lewis Dass that's been the one
- 7:39Speaker 1: that's been covering Salah from a Liverpool perspective, and I
- 7:45Speaker 1: think that was what was difficult. So this week I
- 7:47Speaker 1: was on for a huge green arrow and I was
- 7:48Speaker 1: so happy with you on Saturday night, and then someday
- 7:51Speaker 1: Roll Round Spurs lost for Esax squads, so I was like, well,
- 7:54Speaker 1: my FBL team is at least doing well. My actual
- 7:56Speaker 1: teams in the mud, but there you are. And then
- 7:59Speaker 1: the game kicked off and only having Jotta. The impact
- 8:03Speaker 1: on my rank was absolutely huge because obviously the clean
- 8:06Speaker 1: sheets stuck for Trent and Robertson and Allison. There was
- 8:11Speaker 1: goals for Sealer and there were goals for Das and
- 8:14Speaker 1: all of that stuff. Was just like, oh, this is
- 8:16Speaker 1: having a knock on impact, and it has. That's probably
- 8:19Speaker 1: for me. The one thing I need to think about
- 8:21Speaker 1: is Liverpool. I wasn't exactly sure what we'd see from
- 8:23Speaker 1: Liverpool on the slot, and therefore I've played it a
- 8:26Speaker 1: little bit safer with my investment there at the beginning
- 8:28Speaker 1: of the season. Now I think that's the area of
- 8:31Speaker 1: my team that I need to fix the most and
- 8:33Speaker 1: make sure that I'm a bit more heavily invested in
- 8:35Speaker 1: Liverpool moving forward. Yeah, I think there'll be a few
- 8:38Speaker 1: managers thinking that and as a result, a lot of
- 8:40Speaker 1: managers will probably be tempted into a wild card. As
- 8:43Speaker 1: George mentioned, a really popular time of the season to
- 8:45Speaker 1: play it. As it stands, so we're recording this week
- 8:48Speaker 1: on Wednesday morning. First thing, there's over four hundred and
- 8:51Speaker 1: eighty thousand World Cards active. There's already a few people
- 8:54Speaker 1: that have gone big with their drible captain, but a
- 8:56Speaker 1: lot of these are on Harland just because he's got
- 8:58Speaker 1: Brentford at home and they're thinking, come on, he keeps
- 9:00Speaker 1: getting these hat tricks. And there's over a one hundred
- 9:02Speaker 1: and ten thousand of those active, over sixty seven thousand
- 9:05Speaker 1: three hits and over forty two thousand bench boosts. So yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: it does feel like international breaks are a popular time
- 9:13Speaker 1: for wild cards in particular, and Sam, can you understand
- 9:16Speaker 1: people playing them even as early as three game weeks in.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'm also going to buy it the way at this point.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Shout out Glenn Murray who told me he actually played
- 9:22Speaker 1: his wildcard last week. He had an amazing week. He
- 9:25Speaker 1: got about ninety points. But I was on the train
- 9:27Speaker 1: back from Manchester with him on Saturday and he said,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I've had a really great week, but I've got to
- 9:30Speaker 1: admit I played by wild Card already, and I was like,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I don't hate that. I do think there's merit and
- 9:36Speaker 1: if your team isn't performing, sort it out. Do you agree, Sam? Yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 1: it's interesting because obviously Lee played his last week and
- 9:43Speaker 1: it went well for the most part. I think there's
- 9:46Speaker 1: pros and cons to doing it both ways. Obviously, there's
- 9:49Speaker 1: pros to going early, like we spoke about last week,
- 9:51Speaker 1: and that you can get on people quickly as the
- 9:54Speaker 1: fixture runs are about to happen. But there's also pros
- 9:56Speaker 1: of leaving it later, particularly now that we can roll transfers.
- 9:59Speaker 1: If you are relatively happy with your team and you
- 10:01Speaker 1: don't have any major issues, then you could do it
- 10:04Speaker 1: that way. I think for me, the international break always
- 10:06Speaker 1: feels like a nice time to wild Card. It gives
- 10:08Speaker 1: you two weeks of thinking time and you're not feeling
- 10:12Speaker 1: quite so rushed into making decisions, like there's nothing worse
- 10:15Speaker 1: than trying to make them. I think, like you did
- 10:17Speaker 1: last year, hout was between a weekend game weekend and
- 10:20Speaker 1: midweek game week. Yeah, I did. Having that short amount
- 10:24Speaker 1: of time, there's not enough time to think about it,
- 10:25Speaker 1: whereas over an international breakup, so you get the for
- 10:27Speaker 1: two weeks. It means you can deal with injuries that
- 10:30Speaker 1: come pre the international break, but also you can watch
- 10:33Speaker 1: performing injuries and later returns and stuff over the international break.
- 10:37Speaker 1: And I think it also means that you can work
- 10:39Speaker 1: on your team value, and for me, that's something that's
- 10:41Speaker 1: really important at this point in the season. You're trying
- 10:44Speaker 1: wherever you can at this point to catch the price
- 10:46Speaker 1: wise is before they happen, and to get off players
- 10:49Speaker 1: before they take a price drop, because that will improve
- 10:51Speaker 1: your team value. And whilst at the moment that's probably
- 10:54Speaker 1: not making much difference, sort of point one point two
- 10:56Speaker 1: here or there, by the time we get to Christmas
- 10:59Speaker 1: January and you're looking at your second World card, if
- 11:02Speaker 1: you've successfully got on the players that have taken price risers,
- 11:05Speaker 1: then we could be in a position where by January
- 11:08Speaker 1: your team budget is like one point one point three million,
- 11:12Speaker 1: and that extra three million goes a long way in
- 11:16Speaker 1: bringing you in all of the kind of key players.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So there's definitely merit in going early with the wildcard
- 11:21Speaker 1: and playing the game of price changes to make sure
- 11:25Speaker 1: that your team has the best value possible. Okay, just
- 11:28Speaker 1: checking none of us. Are World Card in this week?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Are we not yet?
- 11:32Speaker 3: No? I don't think so.
- 11:33Speaker 2: So Sam, if you have, for example, you've rolled down
- 11:36Speaker 2: your transfer, so you've got five free transfers. By the
- 11:39Speaker 2: time you play your wild card, you keep them, it
- 11:41Speaker 2: doesn't cancel them like you used to, right, that's right.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, So when you come back out of your wildcard,
- 11:46Speaker 1: any transfers that you had will still be sitting there
- 11:48Speaker 1: waiting for you to use.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Because there's also so let's say you don't want to
- 11:52Speaker 2: play your Worldcard now because ideally you wanted to play,
- 11:54Speaker 2: you want to play next international break, which by the way,
- 11:57Speaker 2: will be a month after the end of this one
- 11:58Speaker 2: pretty much. I think there's four or five game weeks
- 12:01Speaker 2: between the two, so that goes really quickly. So you
- 12:04Speaker 2: can easily play your Worldcard now, and then by the
- 12:06Speaker 2: time the next international break comes, you've got your five
- 12:08Speaker 2: free transfer to do. Which, as we've been saying from
- 12:10Speaker 2: the beginning, with this new rule, it's almost half of
- 12:13Speaker 2: a kind of half of a World Card if you want,
- 12:16Speaker 2: because you can change five of your eleven starters for example,
- 12:19Speaker 2: pretty much if you have the money and if things
- 12:21Speaker 2: for in the right places. So this is something that
- 12:25Speaker 2: you can easily do play your worldcard now, and even
- 12:27Speaker 2: if that worldcoud works for four game weeks, then you
- 12:31Speaker 2: still have plenty and you've rolled on your transfers, you
- 12:33Speaker 2: still have plenty of stuff that you can do by
- 12:36Speaker 2: the next international break. So I find this new role
- 12:41Speaker 2: on five free transfers that you even keep when you
- 12:43Speaker 2: play like you're a world card for example.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Super useful for that.
- 12:46Speaker 2: So if you're in between, you're not sure what to do,
- 12:49Speaker 2: you can easily do that worldcard now and then have
- 12:51Speaker 2: this mini world card in four game weeks or five
- 12:53Speaker 2: game weeks, depending on how many free transfers you have
- 12:56Speaker 2: right now.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I thought I was going to be really clever then
- 12:58Speaker 1: be able to help my transfers into these many world cards,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but it's actually really hard to hold onto the transfers.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Do you not find jews, I don't know.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I guess it will depend on every manager, because if
- 13:08Speaker 2: you're happy with your team and you just feel lesser,
- 13:10Speaker 2: for example, like a Jota who hasn't really fired as
- 13:12Speaker 2: much as we've been saying with Dias or Salad, but
- 13:14Speaker 2: you feel this is just a question of time until
- 13:16Speaker 2: he also scores. Because it's inevitable. Jota is not going
- 13:20Speaker 2: to finish the season on two goals, it's not he's
- 13:22Speaker 2: too good for that and Liverpool are far too good
- 13:24Speaker 2: for that too.
- 13:25Speaker 3: So it depends how you feel about the players that
- 13:26Speaker 3: you have.
- 13:27Speaker 2: If you've got, okay, somebody long term injury or like
- 13:30Speaker 2: a Baco that you want to change, or if you're
- 13:33Speaker 2: not sure about what kings. So Solanki for example, up front,
- 13:35Speaker 2: but we said about Eastad, didn't we let's give him
- 13:37Speaker 2: a bit more time because again there was no way
- 13:39Speaker 2: Issac would not score at some points, especially playing Spurs
- 13:42Speaker 2: at the weekend, so we were right to keep him.
- 13:45Speaker 2: But so if you're happy with your team, I think
- 13:47Speaker 2: it's easier obviously to roll on your transfers. Then if
- 13:50Speaker 2: you feel like, okay, I need to move him, I
- 13:52Speaker 2: need to change him. I don't have a good feeling
- 13:54Speaker 2: about him. He's got tough fixtures coming up, et cetera,
- 13:56Speaker 2: et cetera, But I don't think I think the insane
- 14:00Speaker 2: of having all those free transfers, so up to five
- 14:03Speaker 2: of them.
- 14:04Speaker 3: It's really really good. So I for me, it's actually
- 14:07Speaker 3: the other around.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Kids, I felt like, okay, yeah, I want to keep
- 14:10Speaker 2: them a bit longer, and then I can have three
- 14:12Speaker 2: free transfers in one game week or four in one
- 14:15Speaker 2: game wek or even five, which is amazing.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Really yeah, I wanted to do that, but then I
- 14:19Speaker 1: had obviously the world's worst defense, so I have to
- 14:22Speaker 1: and I was just felt like there was a headache
- 14:23Speaker 1: after headache coming up. But yeah, I know what you mean.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I know what you mean. It's certainly making the game
- 14:28Speaker 1: more interesting as well, which is always good. Okay, So
- 14:30Speaker 1: we've said over four hundred and eighty thousand managers are
- 14:32Speaker 1: currently World carding. We expect that to absolutely shoot up,
- 14:36Speaker 1: so we often do this in international breaks, but we
- 14:38Speaker 1: give you an idea of the best players to target
- 14:40Speaker 1: on your World card, and this is useful even if
- 14:42Speaker 1: you aren't activating the chip, because of course, it basically
- 14:44Speaker 1: just means we're going through the best players in each position.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So we'll starting goal And for some reason, I'm going
- 14:50Speaker 1: to go to some on this. Why because going to
- 14:53Speaker 1: Jeles last twice so I've expertise clearly your expertise of
- 14:57Speaker 1: the last few seasons. This is my area of absolutely specialism,
- 15:01Speaker 1: the goalkeepers. I think this season we were hoping that
- 15:05Speaker 1: there were going to be some really good four point
- 15:07Speaker 1: five options, and so far that just hasn't really been
- 15:10Speaker 1: the case. I think in pre season most people were
- 15:13Speaker 1: looking at going for a Fleckin' or a Henderson and
- 15:17Speaker 1: if you were going in at that cheaper price point,
- 15:19Speaker 1: or maybe even an Ariola, who you'd have been really
- 15:21Speaker 1: annoyed about at the weekend when he went off at halftime.
- 15:24Speaker 1: But I think for me, if you want to go
- 15:28Speaker 1: for a four point five right now, I'd go for
- 15:30Speaker 1: Fleckin even with Manchester City up next, because after you
- 15:33Speaker 1: get past the Manchester City and Spurs games, the Brentford
- 15:37Speaker 1: fixtures are really nice then for a long time. So
- 15:40Speaker 1: you have the west Ham Walls, Manchester United, It's which Fulham, Bournemouth.
- 15:43Speaker 1: It goes on and on and on and on and on.
- 15:45Speaker 1: So that feels like the kind of run that you
- 15:48Speaker 1: would want to invest in if you are going in
- 15:50Speaker 1: the four point five bracket. But my honest opinion right
- 15:53Speaker 1: now is that the value with the goalkeepers is coming
- 15:58Speaker 1: in the more expensive premium ones or the allisons, And
- 16:01Speaker 1: I think if I was wild carding right now, that's
- 16:04Speaker 1: what I would do. I'd go for David Raya or
- 16:08Speaker 1: if you think you'd prefer to use your three arsenal
- 16:11Speaker 1: assets differently, So you would prefer to go for don't know,
- 16:15Speaker 1: Saliba Saka and have its for example, or Gabrielle and
- 16:18Speaker 1: Saliba as you'll double up defensively. Then I get that.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Maybe then you look at Alison at Liverpool. But I
- 16:24Speaker 1: think that's the only negative between going for one of
- 16:27Speaker 1: those is it takes up one of those all important
- 16:30Speaker 1: three slots from the two teams that you probably want
- 16:33Speaker 1: to invest in most bar Manchester City and so right
- 16:37Speaker 1: now would go Raya. But Fleckin is the other option.
- 16:41Speaker 1: If you want to hold your arsenal spots for someone else,
- 16:44Speaker 1: you always looking smug. You've got flecking, an't you?
- 16:46Speaker 3: I've got flecking.
- 16:47Speaker 2: But to be fair, I thought we would have more
- 16:49Speaker 2: points bright now and I've got because.
- 16:51Speaker 3: You know Paris Bone and Breaden is my boy, ETCeteras.
- 16:54Speaker 2: So there are players I need to have otherwise they
- 16:56Speaker 2: won't be happy and they would cross with me, so
- 16:58Speaker 2: I need to have him. I think it's a really
- 17:01Speaker 2: really interesting debate about gold keepers because if you look
- 17:03Speaker 2: at Edison, even like who would have thought City could
- 17:06Speaker 2: consider against if switch at home even west Ham away
- 17:08Speaker 2: and the fact that he doesn't do any SAVI because
- 17:11Speaker 2: it has nothing to do in games really because they
- 17:13Speaker 2: are that good already, and yet there's still two of
- 17:16Speaker 2: those three first games of the season where they haven't
- 17:18Speaker 2: kept the clinch eat and he didn't get the points
- 17:19Speaker 2: that Alison, who hasn't considered the toll yet.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Has got for example.
- 17:24Speaker 2: So Riya Alison at the top day maybe where we
- 17:27Speaker 2: expected them to be and fair enough. But for Edison,
- 17:30Speaker 2: I think he's the one that really is disappointed. Not
- 17:33Speaker 2: him personally, but overall. The fact that he doesn't have
- 17:36Speaker 2: more points at this stage after the three games that
- 17:38Speaker 2: they had is quite surprising.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Okay, so do you agree that Flecking is the best
- 17:43Speaker 1: four point five option if a manager is going to
- 17:45Speaker 1: go that way for Chie, Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I think the best conbo right now is Ria and Flecking.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I think really, if you can, if you have that
- 17:51Speaker 2: kind of money for your two golkeepers and you can
- 17:53Speaker 2: go for it, I think them too are.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Even maybe more than Alison. I would go Riyer and Flecking.
- 18:00Speaker 1: The other option is to go for Murick at Ipswich
- 18:02Speaker 1: because they are top of the fixture ticket defensively from
- 18:04Speaker 1: game with four to game Week fifteen, So it depends
- 18:06Speaker 1: on how much you trust Ipswich, but actually defensively, by
- 18:12Speaker 1: the fixtures that they have, he would be the one
- 18:15Speaker 1: to go with. So if you want to do pairing
- 18:17Speaker 1: four and a half, then you could go for a
- 18:18Speaker 1: Flecken with Muick. That wouldn't be any sensations ago for
- 18:22Speaker 1: Allison because he's kept he's been keeping the clean sheets
- 18:25Speaker 1: for Liverpool. Or is it a case that you'd rather
- 18:27Speaker 1: have a Trent or a Liverpool defender? Sam?
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I think that's the problem, isn't it with Allison? Is
- 18:31Speaker 1: that you've got Trent and you've got Robertson And when
- 18:36Speaker 1: you look at the numbers for those two, they are
- 18:39Speaker 1: already looking like they're going to be the Trent and
- 18:42Speaker 1: Robbo that we saw like two three seasons ago when
- 18:45Speaker 1: we were all like, oh yeah, let's go big at
- 18:47Speaker 1: the back and we'll spend all this money on the defenders.
- 18:50Speaker 1: It feels that way again with those two, particularly with
- 18:53Speaker 1: the way that Trent is inverting this season, the way
- 18:55Speaker 1: that they're playing his set piece threat, all of that
- 18:58Speaker 1: means that I am very are we getting Trent this week?
- 19:03Speaker 1: That are like whether I wildcard or not that's going
- 19:05Speaker 1: to happen. So that would mean that I'm locked on
- 19:08Speaker 1: my Liverpool slots because then I've got Jotta obviously as well.
- 19:11Speaker 1: And if I then did the Allison pick, that would
- 19:13Speaker 1: lock me out of having Salah at any point, and
- 19:16Speaker 1: that feels like a position I really really don't want
- 19:18Speaker 1: to put myself in because then that definitely is a
- 19:20Speaker 1: wildcard because you're making multiple changes to deal with that issue.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And I think that's the issue I have with Allison.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He feels like it might be an unfortunate casualty of
- 19:30Speaker 1: the fact that if I wanted to double up on
- 19:32Speaker 1: the Liverpool defense, I would do it with Trent and
- 19:35Speaker 1: Robbo because of the way that they're playing right now,
- 19:37Speaker 1: or even Trent and Van Dijk because you just have
- 19:40Speaker 1: that a little bit of additional threat that you don't
- 19:42Speaker 1: really get with Alison. Yeah, definitely something to think about
- 19:45Speaker 1: in terms of how many players you can have from
- 19:47Speaker 1: each of these top sides. You almost have to plan
- 19:49Speaker 1: your city, your arsenal, your Liverpool slots in particular, don't you,
- 19:52Speaker 1: because you know at some point you're probably going to
- 19:53Speaker 1: want to max out on them. Okay, so we've pretty
- 19:57Speaker 1: much in agreement. It sounds like they're on the goalkeepers
- 20:00Speaker 1: view and four point five with another option names which
- 20:02Speaker 1: of course as well and if you want to go
- 20:04Speaker 1: bigger then David Ryer looks the best option there at Arsenal. Okay, defenders,
- 20:09Speaker 1: Sam's already revealed she's going to be bringing in Trent
- 20:11Speaker 1: Alexandra Onald this week. Joes would he make your top
- 20:15Speaker 1: kind of wish list for defenders and who else would?
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 20:18Speaker 3: I would love to.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I mean we've said the Liverpool boys because they haven't
- 20:20Speaker 2: considered yet in the three games they're played, So Virgin, Robertson,
- 20:24Speaker 2: Trent fantastic because they have the right at the top
- 20:29Speaker 2: of the defenders with the most points naturally because they
- 20:31Speaker 2: haven't conceded and they've been really really good as well
- 20:34Speaker 2: on the ball for all of them. So the thing
- 20:37Speaker 2: with Robertson and Virgil they one million less than Trend,
- 20:40Speaker 2: so Trent as seven million with super high ownership obviously
- 20:44Speaker 2: because well done to the I think thirty percent of
- 20:46Speaker 2: managers who went with him who have him currently is
- 20:50Speaker 2: great compared to I think Virgin is fourteen percent. And
- 20:54Speaker 2: then Robertson is still a differential because he's less than
- 20:57Speaker 2: ten percent on for now, I'm a man. Is some
- 21:00Speaker 2: that none of them have gone up in price, so
- 21:03Speaker 2: no plus zero point one million on top of them.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So Trenty is still at seven and Robertson and Van
- 21:10Speaker 2: Dyke still at six. So right now is there is
- 21:12Speaker 2: the right time probably to bring one one in if
- 21:14Speaker 2: you want, before the price goes up. But yeah, without
- 21:18Speaker 2: a doubt they have. There are the three best defenders
- 21:21Speaker 2: to have in the game right now, simply because defensively
- 21:24Speaker 2: they've been just perfect.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Sam, I hopefully agree with everything Jews just said.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And I think Doublin that breaks me out when that happened. Yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 1: I know it's weird, isn't it. Here Jews loves it
- 21:39Speaker 1: when it happens though, because he's like, I'm just NETI.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I's not watching on YouTube, he's reading. He's holding up
- 21:45Speaker 1: his notepads.
- 21:47Speaker 2: What does it say, talent, planning and vision The key
- 21:49Speaker 2: is they are the keys here, people, they are the
- 21:52Speaker 2: recip for success.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I imagine we've got a few new listeners. Actually this
- 21:56Speaker 1: is my hopes. So anyway, a few new listeners. He
- 21:59Speaker 1: maybe don't know that last year when we did ask
- 22:00Speaker 1: jewels the secret to his rather staggering success.
- 22:03Speaker 3: To be honest, logic no logic unexpected.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Yeah, apparently talents, planning and vision are the key. And
- 22:11Speaker 1: he has got a notepad for winning our mini league.
- 22:14Speaker 1: We did get him a notepad that says it, and
- 22:15Speaker 1: he loves now that we are not only an audio podcast,
- 22:18Speaker 1: also visually he's now celebrating. He's waving to all of
- 22:24Speaker 1: the fans a year old of them. Back to defenders, Sam, Yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 1: so I fully agree with Jews on the Liverpool boys,
- 22:30Speaker 1: and I think doubling up on them. If I was wildcarding,
- 22:33Speaker 1: that's what I'd do. I'd have two Liverpool defenders right now.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I just think that the way they're playing is madness.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Then I probably would stick. I said when I was
- 22:42Speaker 1: going into the season that I would be selling Pedro
- 22:44Speaker 1: Porrow after game week two. Now, even with Spurs' defensive fragility,
- 22:50Speaker 1: I would still keep Pedro Poro if I was wildcarding
- 22:53Speaker 1: right now. He has had eight attempts on goal so far.
- 22:55Speaker 1: They see it, and that's more than any other defender.
- 22:57Speaker 1: And only Trent has created more chances for his teammates
- 23:01Speaker 1: of the defenders than Poro has, and it's only by one,
- 23:04Speaker 1: Trent's created seven and Poro has created six. The way
- 23:09Speaker 1: that Spurs are playing, Poro is basically in the box
- 23:12Speaker 1: most of the time. When I look for him on
- 23:14Speaker 1: the pitch, I'm like, where's Poro?
- 23:15Speaker 3: Now? Oh?
- 23:15Speaker 1: There, he is right on the edge of the box.
- 23:17Speaker 1: He's having shots all the time. So I think I
- 23:21Speaker 1: would be looking to keep him because, like, Spurs haven't
- 23:24Speaker 1: kept clean sheets in two of their matches, and he's
- 23:26Speaker 1: been averaging five point three points per start. So when
- 23:29Speaker 1: you consider the returns that he's getting and in two
- 23:34Speaker 1: of the three games he hasn't kept a clean sheet,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I think he's worth having in your team. So I
- 23:39Speaker 1: would still go big at the back. I'd have Trend,
- 23:41Speaker 1: I'd have Porro, and then I'd have an arsenal defender
- 23:44Speaker 1: at least one of them. Whether you want to go
- 23:46Speaker 1: for Ben White and spend a little bit more money,
- 23:49Speaker 1: my personal preference is for for Saliba. Still, if you
- 23:52Speaker 1: want to go Gabriellen's dead, then that's fine. But yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 1: I think having an arsenal defender makes sense. They would
- 23:58Speaker 1: have kept a clean sheet as well at the weekend
- 23:59Speaker 1: were it not that declar right red card. I'm pretty
- 24:01Speaker 1: convinced of that, because it was only when they were
- 24:03Speaker 1: changing their the personnel around that they conceded. So I
- 24:07Speaker 1: think we could have had two teams with three straight
- 24:11Speaker 1: clean sheets and then we'd be talking about doubling up
- 24:14Speaker 1: on Arsenal's defense in the same way that we are Liverpool's.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Could this be the first point in the pot where
- 24:19Speaker 1: you guys disagree? Would you keep Poro on a world
- 24:21Speaker 1: cord Jews?
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I agree with something again, yeah no, no,
- 24:25Speaker 2: But what bothers me is the fact that they would
- 24:27Speaker 2: always concede this because of the way play.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah no, no, no, But again.
- 24:33Speaker 2: It's always the same. It's whoever you replace him with.
- 24:36Speaker 2: If the guy who you replace him with gets more
- 24:38Speaker 2: points on Poro, then you've done the right thing. But
- 24:41Speaker 2: I still think that is a good is a good
- 24:43Speaker 2: player to have in your squad because going forwards only,
- 24:46Speaker 2: and I expect with the return of solank I hope
- 24:49Speaker 2: that Solanki will be the guy who will finally finish
- 24:52Speaker 2: all the chances that first created.
- 24:55Speaker 3: For the players.
- 24:56Speaker 2: So you know, I think it makes sense if you
- 25:00Speaker 2: think that suppose are going to keep scoring, attacking for sure,
- 25:03Speaker 2: creating chances for sure. So they would keep scoring or
- 25:07Speaker 2: being close to scoring. So for that, Poro and whoever
- 25:10Speaker 2: you want from the Spers attack makes sense.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Also, sorry if I missed you saying this, have you
- 25:16Speaker 1: suggested a four or four point five million defender, because
- 25:18Speaker 1: if we're going to go big, if we're going to
- 25:20Speaker 1: have all these Liverpool boys, if you're going to keep
- 25:21Speaker 1: a Pedro Poro just quickly, does that mean you would
- 25:24Speaker 1: get rid of the likes of Vardiol because he's been
- 25:26Speaker 1: a real headache. Yeah, that's what you're doing him my
- 25:28Speaker 1: money this week.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, a big disappointment really, he's the one.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Yeah, massive disappointment because he's not even inverting in the
- 25:35Speaker 1: way that he did last season. Rika Lewis is doing
- 25:37Speaker 1: that on the other side. So you're not getting any
- 25:40Speaker 1: attacking threat really out of Vardiol. They're not keeping clean sheets,
- 25:43Speaker 1: but that was the same last season. They didn't regularly
- 25:46Speaker 1: keep clean sheets towards the back end of last season,
- 25:48Speaker 1: but Vardil made up for it because he was getting
- 25:50Speaker 1: attacking returns and he's not this year, so I'd lose him.
- 25:53Speaker 1: That's what I'll be doing this week. And I think
- 25:56Speaker 1: there's two standout four point fives now in the game,
- 25:59Speaker 1: in my opinion, one that Jue sold a couple of
- 26:02Speaker 1: weeks ago in leif Davis, I think you would have him.
- 26:05Speaker 3: By the way, by the way, by the way.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Here we go. Okay, what's coming here?
- 26:10Speaker 3: No?
- 26:11Speaker 2: You know my second assist theory that they should get no. No,
- 26:15Speaker 2: But listen, listen the goal that if you scored the
- 26:17Speaker 2: weekend the Liam de Lap, great finish, great run with
- 26:22Speaker 2: the board that Davey's got an assist for a yard.
- 26:26Speaker 3: It's a yard pass.
- 26:27Speaker 1: An assist and a yard pass.
- 26:30Speaker 2: It is all half and then Liam Delap has to
- 26:33Speaker 2: literally run fifty yards have an amazing shot almost in
- 26:37Speaker 2: the top corner to score a goal.
- 26:39Speaker 3: And Davies gets the assist for nothing.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I heard he thanks, I heard he ran back and thanked.
- 26:44Speaker 3: He didn't. I was watching that game.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I promise you he didn't would have made that pass.
- 26:50Speaker 1: If you're upset about this one, how upset were you
- 26:52Speaker 1: about the Olive Watkins assist?
- 26:54Speaker 2: I mean I should never have no to be fair,
- 26:57Speaker 2: that one does this counting.
- 27:00Speaker 1: And both of those things. When I was watching these
- 27:04Speaker 1: come through, I was like Jewels is raging by this point,
- 27:08Speaker 1: both of them. I was like, here will be furious
- 27:10Speaker 1: because there was also another one. It's just so good
- 27:12Speaker 1: though some when it happens, I'm like, yeah, I was
- 27:15Speaker 1: just because it was Davis. I was like, this is brilliant.
- 27:17Speaker 1: He sold him Trent.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I saw Trent the other day with Gary Neville doing
- 27:21Speaker 2: some sort of interview I think for Sky and he
- 27:22Speaker 2: even Trent was saying, listen, the assistant there is assist
- 27:26Speaker 2: and assist because he was talking with him and Robertson
- 27:29Speaker 2: and taking kind of very kindly the make of Robertson
- 27:31Speaker 2: saying like his assist is just the past there and
- 27:34Speaker 2: then Mo Saralad does something amazing scores and then Robertson
- 27:36Speaker 2: gets this.
- 27:37Speaker 3: But Trent is right, sometimes.
- 27:40Speaker 2: An assist is not a necessary it should not be given,
- 27:42Speaker 2: Like how can Davies gets points for that, or even
- 27:44Speaker 2: like you said, Watkins anyway, go back on to your
- 27:47Speaker 2: Davis point.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'd have Davis. He's created three chances so far,
- 27:52Speaker 1: put in twelve crosses, he's taking five corners. He's the
- 27:55Speaker 1: first two game weeks of the season, a lot of people,
- 27:58Speaker 1: like Jules did Will kind of look at the first
- 28:00Speaker 1: two games of the season and I get why people
- 28:02Speaker 1: did it. Moving to the Newcastle defense or moving somewhere
- 28:05Speaker 1: else with it, but which started the season with the
- 28:08Speaker 1: worst fixtures they could possibly have had, like it couldn't
- 28:11Speaker 1: have got any harder than Liverpool and Manchester City. Now
- 28:15Speaker 1: they're past those. As I said, defensively, they're top of
- 28:18Speaker 1: the fixture ticket from game week four all the way
- 28:20Speaker 1: through to game week fifteen. So there should be some
- 28:22Speaker 1: clean sheets coming. There should be some more attacking threat
- 28:25Speaker 1: because he is he is very attacking. We saw that
- 28:27Speaker 1: in the Championship where he got eighteen assists last season.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So I think I'd have him, and then I'd absolutely
- 28:33Speaker 1: keep Anthony Robinson from Fulham, create three chances, put in
- 28:37Speaker 1: ten crosses again, looking incredibly creative so far this season.
- 28:42Speaker 1: So personally, I think I'm at the stage where if
- 28:45Speaker 1: I was wild carding, I wouldn't have a four point
- 28:47Speaker 1: zero unless I absolutely had to for budget purposes. It's
- 28:51Speaker 1: missed off, my boy and more scare. He provides three points,
- 28:53Speaker 1: don't you know? Big minus point no last week? Last
- 28:58Speaker 1: week he made it too points, which means for the
- 29:00Speaker 1: whole season overall, drum well, please, he's got me one point.
- 29:06Speaker 1: The two was minus two and then it was the
- 29:08Speaker 1: one point the first week I didn't play him last week.
- 29:11Speaker 1: You'll be pleased, no, I mean I don't. I think
- 29:14Speaker 1: the four point you've got some playing ones as you've
- 29:17Speaker 1: got Kelly, You've got a whole bettert as well. It's
- 29:19Speaker 1: one they don't play, but but if you can. Yeah,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and actually he's probably the best one.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah he's four point one now because he obviously.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Price wise, but he's probably the best. But I would
- 29:31Speaker 1: try and find that extra budget to have two four
- 29:34Speaker 1: point fives because those four point fives are looking really
- 29:36Speaker 1: really nice. Okay, onto the midfielders then, and this is interesting.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Is Salah essential jewels if you are carding?
- 29:47Speaker 3: I think so, I really think so. I think everybody
- 29:49Speaker 3: should get him.
- 29:50Speaker 2: We discussed it then in pre season in the previews
- 29:54Speaker 2: that we did, we were not really sure. Like like
- 29:56Speaker 2: we said earlier as well, like some said about how
- 29:58Speaker 2: Liverpool played. I really thought that Liverpool would be less
- 30:02Speaker 2: winger orientated if you want. But then again, Yas and
- 30:05Speaker 2: Salad don't play as a winger exactly like it was
- 30:08Speaker 2: on the club.
- 30:09Speaker 3: They come inside far more so.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Now I think we've seen exactly what this slot Liverpool is,
- 30:14Speaker 2: and they would get better because it's only three games
- 30:16Speaker 2: in so slot and his team and his philosophy and
- 30:20Speaker 2: the way they play the game, they would get better,
- 30:23Speaker 2: all of them collectively and individually. So I think now
- 30:27Speaker 2: we know that Salah, even at thirty two, is a
- 30:29Speaker 2: freak of nature physically and an amazing player, which we
- 30:32Speaker 2: knew already before. But you think, okay, thirty two, new manager,
- 30:36Speaker 2: probably potentially likely last season at the club, all of
- 30:40Speaker 2: the all of those things could have made us think okay,
- 30:44Speaker 2: maybe not.
- 30:44Speaker 3: And also the fight that he is super expensive.
- 30:46Speaker 2: So, like we've said before, if you want Hal and Salad,
- 30:48Speaker 2: that means that will impact the rest of your squad.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And when I tried, I was not really happy with
- 30:53Speaker 2: the rest. I should have been happy and I should
- 30:55Speaker 2: have kept that draft, but I didn't like you kN So,
- 30:58Speaker 2: but yeah, I think Salah is the most and yeah,
- 31:00Speaker 2: you can have Dias, But I think the counter argument
- 31:03Speaker 2: I would give to the Dias option because it's much
- 31:06Speaker 2: cheaper obviously than Salah is. Right now, if you had
- 31:10Speaker 2: to say who's going to keep that consistency and those
- 31:12Speaker 2: kind of numbers for the longest between Dias and Salah,
- 31:16Speaker 2: you would better your house on Salah more than Dias.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I love Diaz and he's a great player. The Salai
- 31:21Speaker 2: Salah and I think Salah has done it for so
- 31:23Speaker 2: long that right now, if you had to between the two,
- 31:26Speaker 2: choose who is going to be that good consistently this
- 31:28Speaker 2: season for the long run.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I would go for Salad ahead of Diaz. And just
- 31:32Speaker 3: for that.
- 31:32Speaker 2: It's where the extra whatever four million or whatever difference
- 31:35Speaker 2: there is between them two, because I'm not sure if
- 31:38Speaker 2: the as can continue like this for Salah you can
- 31:40Speaker 2: you kind of know that he will continue like this.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Then where do the sacrifices come from? Because ultimately, spoiler alert,
- 31:48Speaker 1: I'm guessing we're going to say you have to keep Harland. Yeah,
- 31:51Speaker 1: you have to keep Harland, So how do we how
- 31:54Speaker 1: do we keep Salah? You have to make big success, Yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 1: both of them. I think you have to sacrifice both
- 32:03Speaker 1: of them if you want to make a draft that
- 32:06Speaker 1: has And that's where I was. If you think back
- 32:08Speaker 1: to our preseason conversations, that's where we were. We were like, well,
- 32:10Speaker 1: it's a team that doesn't have soccer in it. There's
- 32:13Speaker 1: no Arsenal attack. And I didn't feel comfortable about that either. Now,
- 32:18Speaker 1: so far, this season. I think what's really interesting is
- 32:20Speaker 1: that I agree. I think Salah feels essential and if
- 32:23Speaker 1: you're wildcarding, I think you kind of have to get him.
- 32:26Speaker 1: He's already taken a price rise this week, so he's
- 32:28Speaker 1: now gone up to twelve point six, so you've got
- 32:32Speaker 1: to find a little bit of extra budget now as well.
- 32:33Speaker 1: That's making it a bit more difficult and I can
- 32:35Speaker 1: only see that continuing to go up over the next
- 32:38Speaker 1: few weeks. Same with Harlan. He's writing he's at fifteen
- 32:42Speaker 1: point two now, so again that's problematic. But I think
- 32:46Speaker 1: when you're looking at the midfield, if you really want Salah,
- 32:50Speaker 1: which I think on wild card you have to, then
- 32:51Speaker 1: you have to be prepared to go without soccer or
- 32:54Speaker 1: any Arsenal attacker in the midfield anyway. You maybe can
- 32:59Speaker 1: afford to get to have it's up top, but you can't.
- 33:02Speaker 1: You can't have soccer in the middle. Okay, So then
- 33:04Speaker 1: if you can't have a soccer, are you then going
- 33:06Speaker 1: without midfield arsenal cover? So yeah, because you can't afford
- 33:11Speaker 1: guard either, So the only way to do it is
- 33:13Speaker 1: to go with Deck and Rice, and I don't.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Think that somebody.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Can, but they're going to start that it's going to
- 33:25Speaker 1: cause your problems. So I think you have to basically
- 33:29Speaker 1: go without soccer and probably take have As as a
- 33:33Speaker 1: forward instead because it's that little bit cheaper than guard is,
- 33:36Speaker 1: so it helps you with your budget and that feels
- 33:39Speaker 1: okay at the moment, but you would be without soccer
- 33:42Speaker 1: and I'll be honest, like not watching watching Liverpool not
- 33:46Speaker 1: having Salah in my team feels awful. I wouldn't feel
- 33:49Speaker 1: any better watching Arsenal without soccer in my team. So
- 33:53Speaker 1: there's always going to be a big compromise to make,
- 33:55Speaker 1: and it's just what that compromise is. If you are
- 33:57Speaker 1: happy to go without Salah, then you can go for
- 34:00Speaker 1: a d I do wonder whether the arrival of kias
- 34:03Speaker 1: And might change the level of minutes Salah gates, because obviously,
- 34:07Speaker 1: at the moment, Salah's been playing ninety minutes every week.
- 34:09Speaker 1: He's not been substituted in that sixty seventy minute bracket
- 34:13Speaker 1: when the likes of Trent and Jotta and Dias have
- 34:15Speaker 1: all come off for the gap Pros and the Darwins
- 34:18Speaker 1: and the Connor Bradleys, because he hasn't really had a
- 34:21Speaker 1: like for like replacement for Salah that he could do
- 34:24Speaker 1: that with, whereas with Kiaser he does have that now.
- 34:27Speaker 1: So maybe we might see Salah coming off a little
- 34:30Speaker 1: bit early. But look, I honestly think the Sala in
- 34:33Speaker 1: sixty minutes is still a player that you'd want to
- 34:35Speaker 1: have in your team, and it is just what it is.
- 34:39Speaker 1: I think if you are having Salah, though, your midfield
- 34:41Speaker 1: then has to look more like Enbuemo and Esa and
- 34:44Speaker 1: players like that in that mid price bracket and you
- 34:47Speaker 1: have to just ignore basically anyone from Cole Palmer down
- 34:52Speaker 1: to about Urder. God. Col Palmer feels like he's kind
- 34:55Speaker 1: of finding some form at the wrong time. It's interesting,
- 34:57Speaker 1: by the way, though, to see I think it's just
- 34:59Speaker 1: precautionary to see he has left the England square for
- 35:02Speaker 1: this international break. I don't know.
- 35:03Speaker 3: There's a few. There's a few of them for all
- 35:05Speaker 3: countries that I've done that.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it always is with this early in spectional break,
- 35:09Speaker 1: isn't it where there's kind of they're still getting over
- 35:10Speaker 1: the summer I suppose, and haven't been going for the season. Yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Cole Palmer though, he's someone that I really want and
- 35:17Speaker 1: I was thinking, oh my gosh, I've got to get
- 35:19Speaker 1: him in. But like you said, it's impossible, isn't it really,
- 35:22Speaker 1: if you're going to go with Salah, yeah, I.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Think so, and Saka and Palma similar amount of Think
- 35:27Speaker 2: twenty five for Palama, twenty four for Soaka. So they
- 35:30Speaker 2: are where we expected them to be really, And don't
- 35:33Speaker 2: forget that cor Palmer had a really slow start of
- 35:35Speaker 2: last season before having this incredible form and for us
- 35:39Speaker 2: who one of the reason why I did so well
- 35:41Speaker 2: because I brought him in really really early, to be fair,
- 35:44Speaker 2: and then he had this incredible run where he really
- 35:46Speaker 2: never after November and never looked back and kept scoring
- 35:49Speaker 2: and scoring and scoring and scoring. But he was obviously
- 35:52Speaker 2: much much cheaper than what he is now. So it's
- 35:55Speaker 2: again it's that balance where you go forwarhere you spend
- 35:58Speaker 2: your money on. If you think that Salah will bring
- 36:02Speaker 2: you more points, even if it's more expensive than and
- 36:04Speaker 2: Saka and Palma that you can have instead, then then
- 36:08Speaker 2: go for it. But I think I think Liverpool will
- 36:12Speaker 2: be very good season. We've said it from the start.
- 36:14Speaker 2: They will have a really good season. And now we
- 36:16Speaker 2: know that Sally is in that kind of form and
- 36:18Speaker 2: Sam is right Bous I'm not even sure when k
- 36:22Speaker 2: I would be ready and how good it could be.
- 36:25Speaker 2: And Sally is so fit that there's a player that
- 36:29Speaker 2: hasn't even been injured in the last eight years or
- 36:31Speaker 2: so almost so the guy can play nineteen minutes and
- 36:34Speaker 2: again and again and again when even the when the
- 36:36Speaker 2: Championships starts mid September, I'm sure he will be able
- 36:39Speaker 2: to play every three days at the level that it
- 36:41Speaker 2: has been out now, even with that intensity, it's just incredible. Really,
- 36:46Speaker 2: so even if you don't play your world card, find
- 36:48Speaker 2: a way of getting sala in.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Sam's probably a good point to mention in the pod
- 36:52Speaker 1: that you did actually come up with a most Salad
- 36:55Speaker 1: draft and a Harlan draft, because as we've said, we
- 36:58Speaker 1: none of us are bon becerus enough to go without Holland.
- 37:00Speaker 1: And I think this is probably an interesting time in
- 37:03Speaker 1: the pod to bring it up. Just so, Jaws mentioned
- 37:05Speaker 1: the word balance there. It is getting that balance, isn't
- 37:08Speaker 1: it in terms of how much balance can you get
- 37:10Speaker 1: in your team? And when you made this team, which
- 37:13Speaker 1: will run through in a second, did you feel like
- 37:14Speaker 1: it had enough balance for you.
- 37:15Speaker 3: It's a really good team.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I think it doesn't sound I don't think it does
- 37:21Speaker 1: have the balance. So yes, I think it is a
- 37:23Speaker 1: good team, and a lot of them are just in
- 37:24Speaker 1: there for the price points that they give you. So
- 37:27Speaker 1: you know, like the goalkeeper is a four point five,
- 37:28Speaker 1: you can go for however you like, You can go
- 37:30Speaker 1: for wherever you want to be. But I think my
- 37:34Speaker 1: issue with this team is that I've just spent the
- 37:36Speaker 1: last however long talking about defenders and how big at
- 37:39Speaker 1: the back feels like it's back and you could double
- 37:41Speaker 1: up on Trent and Robertson and you want Poro and
- 37:44Speaker 1: you want a couple of arsenal defenders. This team does
- 37:49Speaker 1: not have a single Arsenal player in it because I
- 37:51Speaker 1: can't get one in.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Replace with Harvard.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Yeah correct, yeah, so exactly. So you could save a
- 38:01Speaker 1: little bit, and it's just about price points, right, So
- 38:03Speaker 1: you could take Watkins out and you could go to
- 38:07Speaker 1: Havers instead. It's going to save you a little bit
- 38:09Speaker 1: of money, like point four. So that point four, then
- 38:11Speaker 1: you can put somewhere else and you could maybe upgrade
- 38:14Speaker 1: one of the defenders. But equally, you are kind of
- 38:17Speaker 1: locking yourself into these cheaper price points across the rest
- 38:21Speaker 1: of the team. Because you are going big everywhere else. Now.
- 38:25Speaker 1: The other thing is that this team also has Trent,
- 38:27Speaker 1: because for me, I feel like Trent is essential. You
- 38:31Speaker 1: could go with a Robertson instead, and then that would
- 38:35Speaker 1: save you a little bit more money, and then that
- 38:37Speaker 1: maybe allows you if you do the Trent to Robertson
- 38:40Speaker 1: and the Watkins to have it, that maybe gives you
- 38:42Speaker 1: the budget to get.
- 38:44Speaker 2: H one eight million, because it is point eight between
- 38:47Speaker 2: Watkins and Hats and a million between Robertson and Trent.
- 38:49Speaker 2: So I think the team that you came up with
- 38:52Speaker 2: is good and can be even better.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Some everyone's probably going but we can't see this team.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Tell us this team, so run through it. And I
- 38:59Speaker 1: think that is an interesting what you made by you
- 39:00Speaker 1: said this is a lot about price points, so it's
- 39:02Speaker 1: not necessarily the exact players you'd have in each position. Yeah,
- 39:05Speaker 1: So I think, and I did this as part of
- 39:08Speaker 1: you'll be able to see this on site as well.
- 39:10Speaker 1: There's an article on the Premier League, so the Scout
- 39:14Speaker 1: article has this in it as well if you want
- 39:15Speaker 1: to look at it as well. But the briggan a
- 39:18Speaker 1: four point five. The brigand's there because actually the fixtures
- 39:20Speaker 1: are quite nice coming up as well, and Hertzeler said
- 39:23Speaker 1: that he was planning to not rotate goalkeepers this year,
- 39:26Speaker 1: so that's helpful. And then Trent pal Torres and Davis
- 39:30Speaker 1: with Kilman and harbor Belli. So you do have to
- 39:32Speaker 1: have that four point zero defender there in this one,
- 39:36Speaker 1: Salah Bowen and again Bowen, you could drop down slightly
- 39:40Speaker 1: if you were happy to go for another, but I
- 39:43Speaker 1: do love Jarra Bowen. Yeah, and actually he's been really
- 39:45Speaker 1: good to start the season as a Semnia and then
- 39:48Speaker 1: Harry Winks and then up top it has Harland Watkins
- 39:51Speaker 1: and well Beck. Wellbeck could be Jack Pedro if you
- 39:54Speaker 1: prefer Watkins, as we've talked about, could be Habits. I
- 39:57Speaker 1: think probably that's what I would do with this team.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I would probably have have it over over Watkins. I
- 40:04Speaker 1: just feel like that would probably give you slightly better balance,
- 40:08Speaker 1: and it gives you some arsenal as well.
- 40:10Speaker 3: And some money in the bank.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Yeah, have you got money in the banks?
- 40:13Speaker 3: No?
- 40:14Speaker 1: No, I like the apic because we've had to wait
- 40:17Speaker 1: for him to come good. But he now feels like, hopefully,
- 40:20Speaker 1: I'm saying this is an as owner. Hopefully that means
- 40:23Speaker 1: that his season is going to kick start from here.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Is an interesting pick as well. Yeah, what do you
- 40:28Speaker 1: make of that?
- 40:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we said it. I think it was one of
- 40:30Speaker 2: my differential for this week, the one you.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Didn't go for what I'm sure I didn't go for it?
- 40:35Speaker 1: No, no, no, you didn't.
- 40:37Speaker 3: No. I think.
- 40:40Speaker 1: We haven't got any differentials this week. And I was
- 40:41Speaker 1: really looking.
- 40:44Speaker 3: He was on my list. It was on my list list. Yeah,
- 40:48Speaker 3: my list. Yeah, yeah, as well.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Loves who's almost you know, cam Runian, but he speaks
- 40:56Speaker 2: for he's almost French, so almost one of mine.
- 41:00Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah, great.
- 41:01Speaker 2: And I think Brighton I think sorry Bournemouth who were
- 41:04Speaker 2: not good at Everton, and the miracle that happened in
- 41:07Speaker 2: the last ten minutes of that incredible game I'm not
- 41:09Speaker 2: sure can be repeated ever by any teams anywhere with Semeneur.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Or with that something.
- 41:14Speaker 2: But but he's he always in the right place at
- 41:16Speaker 2: the right time when something comes up.
- 41:18Speaker 3: He's good. And I think Bournemouth will not have a
- 41:22Speaker 3: game like the one at Everton often so, so I
- 41:26Speaker 3: like that.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I think I van Neilson would get better for them
- 41:28Speaker 2: to up front, so that would benefit the White the
- 41:31Speaker 2: white players, whether Semeno Tavenue, whoever sinister are, whoever you
- 41:35Speaker 2: want so so this, Yeah, I think Semeni is really good.
- 41:37Speaker 2: At his price, take him.
- 41:39Speaker 3: It could be benched easily, there's no there's no problem
- 41:41Speaker 3: with that.
- 41:42Speaker 2: So I yeah, I think it's a It should be
- 41:44Speaker 2: a popular, popular spot if you play Worldcome.
- 41:47Speaker 1: He's returned in every game sover this season. Maybe he's
- 41:50Speaker 1: been overlooked a little bit sad because we've all been
- 41:52Speaker 1: talking about a Mel Smith, Brow Morgan Rogers by the
- 41:54Speaker 1: way our jewels greating is he becoming now.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Don't get me started on on Ronaldo Brazilian Rogers.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:03Speaker 2: I mean it's so so good and at some points
- 42:05Speaker 2: he will return. By the time he returns, we will
- 42:09Speaker 2: have the championship again.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yes, so sorry. That just reminded me of
- 42:16Speaker 1: the Morgan Rodgers anger that I've had, because every week
- 42:19Speaker 1: I look at my team and I think I quite
- 42:20Speaker 1: like that, and I think Rogers could get points this
- 42:21Speaker 1: week and he plays really well and gets absolutely nothing.
- 42:24Speaker 1: But a player like sa Menu has probably been overlooked
- 42:27Speaker 1: because of the two players I mentioned at Mel Smith
- 42:29Speaker 1: Rowan Rodgers. Absolutely, yeah, I think so, and I think
- 42:32Speaker 1: because of the fixtures being the way that they are
- 42:34Speaker 1: for aston Villa and people struggling to afford to have
- 42:37Speaker 1: Oli Watkins and Oliwakins also not being in the best
- 42:39Speaker 1: form right now coming back from the summer with England,
- 42:42Speaker 1: people have wanted enough way into aston Villa and Rogers
- 42:45Speaker 1: are spelt like the right one. Actually, the right option
- 42:47Speaker 1: if he wanted to go for aston Villa was to
- 42:49Speaker 1: go for Nana. Who is better for XG and XGI
- 42:52Speaker 1: And really last week I spent so long faffing about
- 42:56Speaker 1: which transferred to make who to go and CANKU two
- 42:59Speaker 1: and I ended up going for Rogers, although I was
- 43:02Speaker 1: very very close to go and Enboro last week and
- 43:04Speaker 1: I really regret the decision not to do that. But
- 43:08Speaker 1: I just liked the fixtures for aston Villa in the
- 43:10Speaker 1: next three more than I liked the ones for Brentford.
- 43:15Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, look, if you've got Rogers, I
- 43:17Speaker 1: don't think you can sell him either at the moment
- 43:19Speaker 1: because you've you've got nice fixtures coming up. But I
- 43:22Speaker 1: do think if you're on wild card and you want
- 43:24Speaker 1: to stick at Villa, i'd move to Onana instead. Yeah,
- 43:27Speaker 1: a really good point actually, and has had a brilliant,
- 43:29Speaker 1: brilliant starts of the season there. Okay, so I think
- 43:31Speaker 1: we've we've discussed most of the midfield there. Forward Wise,
- 43:34Speaker 1: let's just box off one forward, we're all having Earl
- 43:37Speaker 1: in Harland. You've got to spend it. What was is
- 43:39Speaker 1: he fifteen point two two now?
- 43:41Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 43:41Speaker 1: So also there's an element there we talked about price
- 43:43Speaker 1: rises before. You have to be going to have Earling
- 43:46Speaker 1: Harland and you've got a wild card. It kind of
- 43:48Speaker 1: feels like you almost because it would be really hard
- 43:51Speaker 1: to get to him without doing major surger on your tea,
- 43:53Speaker 1: wouldn't it. Does it feel like you have to get
- 43:54Speaker 1: him now, Sam, or you are going to get priced
- 43:56Speaker 1: out because imagine if he keeps going up, well, yeah,
- 43:59Speaker 1: and it feels like it could happen because he's still
- 44:02Speaker 1: not that highly owned. The same with Salah, he's already
- 44:04Speaker 1: taken a price wise, he feels like he's going to
- 44:06Speaker 1: increase in price as well. And it does mean and
- 44:09Speaker 1: it's one of the problems with wild carding a bit
- 44:11Speaker 1: later is that you do risk the price rise is
- 44:15Speaker 1: having making it difficult for you to get those bigger
- 44:19Speaker 1: assets if they keep continuing to rise. For me, I
- 44:22Speaker 1: think Harlan is essential. I think you have to have him.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I just think not having him like he's barely in
- 44:28Speaker 1: games and yet then scores a hat trick, Like he's
- 44:31Speaker 1: not running around loads, he's just in the right place
- 44:33Speaker 1: at the right time. Everything about him is so confident
- 44:37Speaker 1: and comfortable this season, like he looks like a player
- 44:39Speaker 1: that's gonna have his best season in the Premier League
- 44:42Speaker 1: if he stays fit. And Yeah, for me, I think
- 44:46Speaker 1: he just feels like a no brainer. And I guess
- 44:48Speaker 1: the other benefit of wildcarding is that if you don't
- 44:51Speaker 1: have that money up top, as in you've got a
- 44:54Speaker 1: forward line this maybe got like Watkins Havetz and Joe
- 44:57Speaker 1: Pedro in it, you've gotta move money around. So that's
- 45:00Speaker 1: going to take a lot of transfers to take that
- 45:02Speaker 1: money and put it up front, whereas in midfield you
- 45:05Speaker 1: might not have to do it quite too much. With Salah,
- 45:06Speaker 1: if you've already got like a Parmer and you're prepared
- 45:08Speaker 1: to sacrifice him or I don't know, you've got KDB
- 45:11Speaker 1: or a Podon or someone like that, you might be
- 45:13Speaker 1: able to tweak your money around a bit easier. But
- 45:16Speaker 1: in that forward line, he's so much more expensive than
- 45:18Speaker 1: everyone else that getting that budget is going to mean
- 45:21Speaker 1: you have to you probably have to wild card to
- 45:24Speaker 1: get him. Okay, so Sam put Watkins and world Work
- 45:27Speaker 1: in a draft. I quite like those, but I personally
- 45:30Speaker 1: and I toyed with getting him the other week for
- 45:32Speaker 1: SLANKI and I didn't. I personally would like have Its
- 45:36Speaker 1: because also, if you're going to have a team that
- 45:37Speaker 1: doesn't have soccer in it goes back to you would
- 45:40Speaker 1: want Arsenal cover like you'd want me to cover as well,
- 45:43Speaker 1: but it almost feels even more with Arsenal you need
- 45:45Speaker 1: some attacking cover. Would have Its make your front three
- 45:48Speaker 1: on the World card Jewels.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so, ahead of Watkins for example, and
- 45:53Speaker 2: a few o those. If you obviously don't have Sakka
- 45:56Speaker 2: the guard in midfield, you need a national player there
- 46:00Speaker 2: and that's an attacker there. And Habits will miss chances,
- 46:03Speaker 2: and we saw that against Brighton for example, where it's
- 46:05Speaker 2: called a brilliant goal but then should have had really
- 46:07Speaker 2: a second one in the second half, even at with
- 46:10Speaker 2: ten men.
- 46:10Speaker 3: So there's there's the.
- 46:12Speaker 2: That's the frustration part of having him, I think, because
- 46:15Speaker 2: he's still not yet a clinical striker, and he might
- 46:18Speaker 2: never be because he's just has other aspects to this
- 46:21Speaker 2: game that's great that Harland doesn't have, for example, or
- 46:23Speaker 2: even even somebody that Solanki doesn't have. So so I think, yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 2: Hads is great. The other one I would mention because
- 46:32Speaker 2: again it's amazing, but keep in mind that both and
- 46:35Speaker 2: Bomo and Wesa had a really good start of last
- 46:37Speaker 2: season and then after that kind of like slow down
- 46:41Speaker 2: a bit.
- 46:41Speaker 3: They were still very good, but they slowed down.
- 46:43Speaker 2: But Yo and Wisa is the fourth best striker like
- 46:46Speaker 2: attacker forward in the game right now, which blows my mind,
- 46:50Speaker 2: not just because it's parts bond and bread and obviously
- 46:52Speaker 2: is amazing just for that, but because I don't think
- 46:55Speaker 2: anybody would have said at the start of the season,
- 46:57Speaker 2: with all the options that you have up front with
- 47:00Speaker 2: the Solonki move Watkins after last season, Halan have it,
- 47:05Speaker 2: you know anyone that Wesa would do so well so early,
- 47:08Speaker 2: So well done to him. So Alan is on forty
- 47:11Speaker 2: one points and you've got well back. I think on
- 47:12Speaker 2: twenty four, who is the big surprise for sure? And
- 47:15Speaker 2: then and then we saw on twenty one and have
- 47:18Speaker 2: this on twenty two I think so well done. Still
- 47:21Speaker 2: low ownership at seven percent for Visa because you're only
- 47:24Speaker 2: six point one million, so it's really really good. Obviously,
- 47:29Speaker 2: money wise, you might not be able to put him
- 47:31Speaker 2: in your draft or in your World card or in
- 47:33Speaker 2: your team, but I think it's definitely someone to keep
- 47:35Speaker 2: him man.
- 47:36Speaker 3: And it won't last the whole season if he won't.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Have a season where he's causing every game or assist
- 47:39Speaker 2: in every game, but for now he's on top form,
- 47:42Speaker 2: so it could be the right time to bring him in.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Soy would you front three Jews?
- 47:47Speaker 3: So I'll go haland have it and Wesa for example.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I think that's a very well balanced, really nice and
- 47:54Speaker 2: Sam said about Branford's fixtures coming up as well for
- 47:57Speaker 2: Fleck and in goal, and I think I think it's
- 47:59Speaker 2: them to say for Lisa, So I would be very
- 48:02Speaker 2: happy with the Harland, have Itz and Lisa from.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Three because I would have also Salah behind even with that,
- 48:09Speaker 3: Saka and Palma for example.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Sami front three as you mentioned is Watkins, Welbeck and
- 48:16Speaker 1: I'm trying to sort of memory Eve though it's on
- 48:17Speaker 1: my screen welfare of Welbeck, Watkins and Harland. But would
- 48:21Speaker 1: they be the three that you would go with. No.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I think I think if I was going to look
- 48:24Speaker 1: in a front three on Worldcarve right now, it would
- 48:26Speaker 1: be Harlan probably have its, and then the third one
- 48:30Speaker 1: would very much depend on price, because even Jelle Pedro
- 48:32Speaker 1: and Welbeck aren't that cheap anymore. They've both taken two
- 48:35Speaker 1: price rises, so they're at point seven now, which is
- 48:37Speaker 1: making it a little bit more difficult. But I think
- 48:40Speaker 1: they're both options. I love the this pic. I had
- 48:42Speaker 1: him on my list as well. I think he's brilliant
- 48:44Speaker 1: and if you don't have m Bormeo in midfield, then
- 48:46Speaker 1: go with him up top instead, like have one of
- 48:48Speaker 1: them at least. I think we also have to kind
- 48:52Speaker 1: of mention Niko Jackson at the moment, because if you're
- 48:55Speaker 1: not going Kyl Palmer and you don't have any other
- 48:58Speaker 1: Chelsea assets, then maybe Jackson might be an option. He's
- 49:01Speaker 1: had six goal attempts, all of them have come from
- 49:03Speaker 1: inside the box, four of them have been big chances.
- 49:05Speaker 1: He's got two goals, he's created four chances. He's actually
- 49:08Speaker 1: all right, and in terms of creativity amongst the forward
- 49:12Speaker 1: and only can You at Wolves has been more creative
- 49:14Speaker 1: than Jackson has been, so I think he's got to
- 49:17Speaker 1: be in the conversation if you're going without Chelsea elsewhere
- 49:20Speaker 1: because of the way that their fixtures are over the
- 49:22Speaker 1: next few weeks. And then there's Selankey as well, if
- 49:24Speaker 1: he gets fit again and it's again it's that if
- 49:26Speaker 1: he gets fit again and when he comes back. But
- 49:29Speaker 1: I think right now this week I do Harlan have
- 49:33Speaker 1: a probably jow pedro jeels very quickly as it stands.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Are you keeping Selanky?
- 49:39Speaker 2: Yeah, because there's no reason why, like until we hear
- 49:42Speaker 2: from Ernest saying like it's another two weeks, three weeks,
- 49:45Speaker 2: he's more serious than expected all he's bad, training looking great,
- 49:49Speaker 2: and he would play against Arsenal at the weekend because
- 49:53Speaker 2: that's the fixture coming up after the international break. Then
- 49:57Speaker 2: then then until until we're not for sure. There's point
- 50:00Speaker 2: right now unless you play your world card and then assorted.
- 50:03Speaker 2: But if you don't play your world card, I don't
- 50:05Speaker 2: think there's the point changing him now and using one
- 50:08Speaker 2: of your free transfers or minus four to get rid
- 50:11Speaker 2: of Solanky when we don't really know what the latest
- 50:13Speaker 2: is and there's two weeks for him be less now
- 50:15Speaker 2: because this is Wednesday, but there will be like a
- 50:19Speaker 2: week and a few days to make sure if he's
- 50:21Speaker 2: ready or not to go, because he might well be
- 50:24Speaker 2: and in their case, to go back to the point
- 50:25Speaker 2: we met. For Poro, I think Spurs creates so many
- 50:28Speaker 2: chances that Selanki will score goal this season. He will
- 50:31Speaker 2: have a good season, like a lot of the Spurs
- 50:34Speaker 2: attackers from Madison to Son to Brandon Johnson and Poro
- 50:37Speaker 2: and maybe even a Dogie.
- 50:39Speaker 3: So so I would keep him then.
- 50:41Speaker 2: But if Andre says it's another two weeks, mate, listen, mates,
- 50:45Speaker 2: it's another three weeks then then in that case, then yeah,
- 50:52Speaker 2: I think it will be time to say simply because
- 50:53Speaker 2: you can't afford to have somebody that expensive on your
- 50:57Speaker 2: bench simply because he's flagged, So change gym and then
- 51:00Speaker 2: you can always bring him back later.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Yeah, watch this space at French Pastacogloose press conference, which
- 51:06Speaker 1: is still quite far away to be still only on
- 51:08Speaker 1: the Wednesday of the first week of the international break.
- 51:11Speaker 1: But yeah, probably lots of managers with a similar dilemma there. Okay,
- 51:15Speaker 1: that's where we're going to leave it. This week is
- 51:16Speaker 1: international break. Jewels, where are you off to you cover
- 51:18Speaker 1: in France.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Games France Italy on Friday, which is which is cool
- 51:22Speaker 2: on paper, it's cool.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I'm not sure the game will be that cool, but
- 51:24Speaker 3: we see.
- 51:25Speaker 1: It's always a weird international break, this one isn't it?
- 51:27Speaker 2: Yes, Nation, But there's some good games like look at England,
- 51:30Speaker 2: amazing fixtures for you to watch.
- 51:33Speaker 3: Are you in the B League on you? Oh yeah?
- 51:36Speaker 3: I mean yeah?
- 51:36Speaker 2: So why is it Finland? Fill in England is great?
- 51:39Speaker 2: Who would not want to watch Finland against England?
- 51:41Speaker 1: Well for the first international breaking, However, many years I'm
- 51:44Speaker 1: either not having a baby or I'm not working on
- 51:47Speaker 1: the game.
- 51:47Speaker 3: That's good for you.
- 51:48Speaker 1: On the TV channel what I did work for in
- 51:50Speaker 1: these games don't have the rights for these games anymore.
- 51:52Speaker 1: They've gone to another TV channel. So while I was
- 51:54Speaker 1: very disappointed about that, if you're watching on YouTube, you
- 51:57Speaker 1: may notice this is not my usual room. I'm in Portugal,
- 51:59Speaker 1: so I'm very much having my own international break. So
- 52:02Speaker 1: every cloud has a silver line and all that. I've
- 52:04Speaker 1: got a holiday, Sam, What about you? What are you
- 52:06Speaker 1: going to be doing over the break? Trying not to
- 52:09Speaker 1: press the wild come busting you will? So there is
- 52:13Speaker 1: a chance you could do this by the next podcast.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I don't think there is no I am really happy
- 52:17Speaker 1: make a better podcast if you could do it. Yeah,
- 52:19Speaker 1: I know it's the salad thing, isn't it. Like I
- 52:21Speaker 1: think that's just what's doing. I'm just enjoying the fact
- 52:23Speaker 1: my kids have gone back to school on this in
- 52:24Speaker 1: peace and quiet in my house, I can work happily.
- 52:27Speaker 1: At this point, George is going to pretend that that's
- 52:28Speaker 1: also something that he's feeling, but then he remembers that
- 52:31Speaker 1: he's never around his kids anyway.
- 52:33Speaker 2: I've got too many of them anyway. I'm not even
- 52:35Speaker 2: sure when they got back to school.
- 52:36Speaker 1: So on that note, that's why we're end the podcast
- 52:42Speaker 1: because I want to go and enjoy the sunshine. Thank
- 52:44Speaker 1: you very much the good news as well. No deadline
- 52:47Speaker 1: to remember this weekend, so just enjoy watching those brilliant
- 52:49Speaker 1: international fixtures, particularly those stellar England ones. I cannot wait
- 52:53Speaker 1: to see how they get on against what was it
- 52:54Speaker 1: Republic of Island and Finland all jokes, as I do
- 52:57Speaker 1: still quite like watching them to be fair. We'll be
- 52:59Speaker 1: back next week barring a disaster, which will probably be
- 53:02Speaker 1: a Junie in the wrong shape disaster.
- 53:04Speaker 3: We will all be together doing it.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but you'll probably have another seventeen podcasts and we'll
- 53:09Speaker 1: give us a seventeen minutes start. But yeah, hopefully we'll
- 53:12Speaker 1: all be together next week recording our first podcast in
- 53:15Speaker 1: person of the season, which always maybe doesn't make any
- 53:18Speaker 1: difference for you guys, but does for us. And of
- 53:19Speaker 1: course that will be on YouTube, as all of these
- 53:21Speaker 1: podcasts are each and every week that we preview in
- 53:24Speaker 1: Game week for don't forget the rates and review us.
- 53:27Speaker 1: We love it when you say nice things. We don't
- 53:29Speaker 1: when you say horrible things. We don't like this podcast.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Ignore that. Do you seem fie
