- 0:00Speaker 1: Time out for We're back to the basics in healthcare
- 0:02Speaker 1: with balanced life chiropractic.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Howre you doing, doctor Harley.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Ay John, another wonderful week.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about stress today.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and maybe just saying that word, some of you
- 0:11Speaker 3: listening might be like, oh, they're just think you're already
- 0:14Speaker 3: getting stressed thinking about stress.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I just remember reading one time, probably on like a
- 0:18Speaker 1: greeting card or something, it said stressed and dessert have
- 0:20Speaker 1: the same words, So you're supposed to eat dessert and
- 0:22Speaker 1: then you won't be stressed apparently.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I mean, it does probably help a little bit.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Raised one theory I've heard. I've written in many ways.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Indulge in your sugar cravings.
- 0:30Speaker 2: That's probably not the best way.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So what are some things people can do if they
- 0:33Speaker 1: are stressed out leading up to tax day and all right?
- 0:36Speaker 3: Other I mean, that's what I was thinking about. Let's
- 0:38Speaker 3: have our stressed it. I'm sure some people are stressed
- 0:41Speaker 3: out about a lot of different things that are going
- 0:43Speaker 3: on right now, And what are some things that you
- 0:45Speaker 3: can do to help alleviate the things that you know
- 0:48Speaker 3: you can't control, like trying not to stress about the
- 0:50Speaker 3: things that are out of our hands. Absolutely, But let's
- 0:52Speaker 3: first look at what is stress?
- 0:54Speaker 2: You know, yeah, what is it?
- 0:55Speaker 3: It's a response to our environment, to our estimate, like
- 0:59Speaker 3: twist something happening. You know, we have physical stress, you
- 1:03Speaker 3: know the things we eat is like that's chemical stress,
- 1:07Speaker 3: as well as the mental emotional stress. We kind of
- 1:09Speaker 3: three different types of stressors.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And sometimes you have all of them at the same time,
- 1:13Speaker 2: don't you.
- 1:14Speaker 3: More than likely yes, because the one can lead to
- 1:16Speaker 3: another kind of stress that leads to another one, and
- 1:19Speaker 3: it's just kind of a never ending spot. But stress
- 1:21Speaker 3: is normal, right, you know, we're supposed to have it.
- 1:23Speaker 3: It's how how we're reacting to our day to day.
- 1:26Speaker 3: The problem is when we are so stressed out all
- 1:29Speaker 3: the time that our body just kind of goes into
- 1:32Speaker 3: like a frozen, stuck mode. You just kind of feel
- 1:34Speaker 3: like you're always like that hamster on the wheel, just
- 1:36Speaker 3: go go, go, go, go, go go go all the time.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Like that's not a good feeling. That means we're kind
- 1:40Speaker 3: of stuck in that stress response, that fight or flight response,
- 1:43Speaker 3: which is typic totally normal to stress. But the thing
- 1:47Speaker 3: is when you know that that thing that happened, that
- 1:50Speaker 3: stress thing goes away. We should calm back down, back
- 1:54Speaker 3: into kind of like a rest relaxation mode. But right
- 1:58Speaker 3: the problem is we're not getting there. We're just kind
- 2:00Speaker 3: of stuck on the gas all the time. So some things,
- 2:03Speaker 3: you know, we've probably talked about in the past to
- 2:05Speaker 3: help with that, you know, finding things to get your
- 2:07Speaker 3: mind off of what if you're stressing about, you know,
- 2:09Speaker 3: getting a hobby, or you know, sometimes just spring cleaning.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Just a lot of people stress clean. Maybe you know,
- 2:15Speaker 3: just moving exercise is a really good way of helping
- 2:17Speaker 3: alleviate that stress. It's taking that pent up energy and
- 2:20Speaker 3: using it for something else. You know, going for a walk.
- 2:23Speaker 3: It's gonna be really sunny this week, so that's a
- 2:25Speaker 3: really good time to just get outside, get some fresh air.
- 2:28Speaker 3: That vitamin D helps boost our mood, which is going
- 2:30Speaker 3: to help with handling our stress, because unfortunately we can't
- 2:34Speaker 3: get rid of it, right, we can't change our environment
- 2:37Speaker 3: so much. It's how we handle and manage our stress
- 2:41Speaker 3: that really makes the biggest difference.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes it's all the other drivers on the road,
- 2:45Speaker 1: those people as idiots or whatever it is, it's cause
- 2:48Speaker 1: it use stress. I mean, that's just my example. No,
- 2:52Speaker 1: there are things that you can't make it go away.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So then what you need to do is find a
- 2:55Speaker 1: way to either live with it or deal with it
- 2:57Speaker 1: and deal with it in a much better way. And chiropractice,
- 3:00Speaker 1: believe it or not, is something that you can actually
- 3:02Speaker 1: turn to. And let's talk a little bit about how
- 3:04Speaker 1: chiropractic can help when it comes to stress.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Right, you might not necessarily think, oh, I'll go in
- 3:07Speaker 3: to my chiropractice that's going to help with stress, But
- 3:09Speaker 3: the thing is we're helping how your nervous system and
- 3:12Speaker 3: your body are handling your stress. So we find a
- 3:15Speaker 3: lot of times is when we're stuck in that stress mode,
- 3:17Speaker 3: our health starts to get worse. Yeah, and then we're
- 3:19Speaker 3: stressing more about our health, and it's just kind of
- 3:22Speaker 3: a never ending cycle of happening. Well, what we see
- 3:25Speaker 3: with chiropractic care is we're helping break that cycle that
- 3:27Speaker 3: your body's stuck in. It's kind of like that giant
- 3:29Speaker 3: computer is just frozen and we're trying to unfreeze it
- 3:33Speaker 3: and actually get your nervous system back into balancing between
- 3:36Speaker 3: the high highs and the lower lows, and maybe we're
- 3:38Speaker 3: getting you out of like the super highs and super
- 3:39Speaker 3: lows and actually kind of more of a gentle roller
- 3:42Speaker 3: coaster versus that super extreme one you've been.
- 3:44Speaker 2: On to live a more balanced life. Ah yeah, I see.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Their place is called balanced Life Chiropractic. Now, if somebody

- 3:59Speaker 1: for them to take the first step towards getting that done.
