- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is Michael Bidnt
- 0:02Speaker 1: on this Monday, August twenty fourth. As uh, mister story
- 0:05Speaker 1: Taylor wants to talk talk talk, I have to tell
- 0:08Speaker 1: him this morning to get back over in his part. So, yeah, no,
- 0:12Speaker 1: it wasn't Tommy. You were just a little mister chit chatty,
- 0:14Speaker 1: which I love. I do truly. Part of the morning
- 0:19Speaker 1: that I probably enjoy the most is when you come
- 0:22Speaker 1: over here on my side of the studio and want
- 0:24Speaker 1: to talk.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I enjoy that. I'd like to hear the rest of
- 0:27Speaker 2: that story.
- 0:28Speaker 1: So please please don't finish telling me that story and
- 0:31Speaker 1: forget about it, okay, because one of us is going
- 0:33Speaker 1: to forget then I'm never going to get to you here.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Watch you okay, good, all right, good. I appreciate that.
- 0:38Speaker 1: But anyway, if you want to give us call Fable
- 0:40Speaker 1: two three four fourteen fifty. If you want to text
- 0:43Speaker 1: us on the Whiskey teed text line, you can do
- 0:45Speaker 1: that Fable two four one fourteen fifty, or he can
- 0:47Speaker 1: tweet me. It's just cat Radio. As uh, you know,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we had not much going on over the weekend.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Here here's what there's all cons going on over the
- 0:56Speaker 2: wad Well, yeah, Michael BIDNTT didn't have much going on
- 0:58Speaker 2: over the weekend, is what I meant by that.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yes, there was all kinds of things going on. All right,
- 1:02Speaker 1: all right, well let me ask you because I and
- 1:06Speaker 1: I apologize, I didn't get a chance to listen to
- 1:09Speaker 1: your show this morning. I uh, I turned everything off.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I just won a little quiet time. Okay, that happens. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I get that. And because normally I turned tune you
- 1:21Speaker 1: in as I'm driving in because I like to hear
- 1:23Speaker 1: what you're talking about, uh, because I know it's probably
- 1:26Speaker 1: a lot of times will come up uh in our
- 1:29Speaker 1: cross talk. But as far as the number one story
- 1:33Speaker 1: this weekend and period, well to you was the number
- 1:37Speaker 1: one story.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Hmmm, that's really tough. You just said there were lots
- 1:43Speaker 2: of things going on this weekend. There were, but trying
- 1:45Speaker 2: to pick the top thing. I mean, for me personally,
- 1:48Speaker 2: it was probably the PGA of it was why. I mean,
- 1:51Speaker 2: it was just it was entertaining. I didn't watch a
- 1:54Speaker 2: second em Oh, yesterday was very entertaining. I mean when
- 1:57Speaker 2: they playing, uh, you know what I don't in Annapolis
- 2:01Speaker 2: even I know that that was li Oh that's right.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It was live never on. I think PGA was in Memphis. No,
- 2:08Speaker 2: Memphis was the weekend. Yeah, that was the South Wind
- 2:12Speaker 2: Saint Jude's Classic. I don't know where they were.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh, don't even worry about because I don't even care.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So there you go. But I clearly one thing happened
- 2:23Speaker 1: over the weekend. For Okay, they're in Missouri, Okay, Saint
- 2:27Speaker 1: Louis probably yeah, I would say that's a suburb of
- 2:31Speaker 1: Saint Louis. But clearly the biggest story of the weekend
- 2:35Speaker 1: was a UK getting a commit But I don't want
- 2:38Speaker 1: to talk about that.
- 2:38Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about it in a minute. I would
- 2:40Speaker 2: say volleyball bigger than that. Losing, I mean winning then losing. Yeah, well,
- 2:47Speaker 2: I mean they lost yesterday. Yeah, they won their first match,
- 2:49Speaker 2: but they lost. No, no offense to Craig Skinner and
- 2:53Speaker 2: the volleyball team. It's basketball, I mean it is. It's yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: But here's the deal is, we don't don't even We're
- 3:00Speaker 2: still at the point with this thing where we don't
- 3:02Speaker 2: know if it's gonna happen or not. That's the other
- 3:05Speaker 2: person frustrated. That's why to me, that story is not
- 3:08Speaker 2: the biggest because it doesn't have any what's the word
- 3:12Speaker 2: I'm looking for? There's not like an invalidity? Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 2: there you go. Yeah, I like that, like the four syllables.
- 3:20Speaker 2: That's that's good for me.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But the one thing I do want to talk to
- 3:24Speaker 1: you about is before we go any further. And yes,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I did have a nice weekend. I appreciate you asking me. Uh,
- 3:31Speaker 1: the one thing I want to talk about is Friday,
- 3:34Speaker 1: because I don't know how much of Friday you got
- 3:37Speaker 1: to listen to me.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And who is the guy? Oh, Trevor, Trevor, good grief.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I mean, I honest to God, Michael, I am surprised
- 3:47Speaker 2: that I'm sitting in this chair this morning.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I thought you would have made a call this weekend
- 3:53Speaker 2: and that you that Trevor would be sitting here right.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Oh really, why would you ever say that? I mean,
- 3:58Speaker 2: when I'm I am that just loyal to you? Well,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I mean it's slightly concerning when I'm listening on Fridays
- 4:05Speaker 2: and I hear you utter the phrase this feels like
- 4:08Speaker 2: step brothers. We just became best friends. It just wasn't
- 4:13Speaker 2: what I expected. I told you it was gonna be fine.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It was to me. It was crazy.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It wasn't fine, It wasn't it was it was just
- 4:22Speaker 1: it was weird because I didn't get through a single
- 4:26Speaker 1: topic with him.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I had.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I had like five or six more topics to talk about.
- 4:31Speaker 1: We got through zero. And I'm not gonna say it
- 4:35Speaker 1: wasn't fun. It was fun. But my goodness. Uh, I mean,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that's that's those two minds met right there. And yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: there was probably a small explosion in a small country
- 4:47Speaker 1: because that was crazy. I don't know if it was
- 4:50Speaker 1: good radio or not. But I had fun. That's all.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Well I shouldn't say that's all, man, but that's what
- 4:54Speaker 2: matter to me. It sounds like everybody enjoyed it. Really,
- 4:58Speaker 2: everybody that I've talked to, they were They were big
- 5:01Speaker 2: fans of TK and Michael Binn. Oh my goodness. Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 1: No, I would never make a phone call and say
- 5:07Speaker 1: I gotta have this guy over you are you kidding me?
- 5:09Speaker 1: You're my god, just saying you are well. He fully
- 5:15Speaker 1: admitted he doesn't get up in the morning. No, that's
- 5:17Speaker 1: that's gonna be a problem. And I'm not gonna sit
- 5:19Speaker 1: here and be on the other side trying to produce
- 5:22Speaker 1: and do a show at the same time. That's not
- 5:24Speaker 1: gonna work. So no, I need you, I need you
- 5:27Speaker 1: and I want you there, So there you go.
- 5:29Speaker 2: But you all had a lot more in common than
- 5:31Speaker 2: we did. We really, I thought so. In terms of movies, music, yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 2: you all were. Y'all were on a pretty similar wavelength.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But but let's be all right. You and I like
- 5:43Speaker 1: horse racing, golf voting. Come on, man, don't be saying
- 5:49Speaker 1: that we have a.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Lot of things Trevor knows nothing about.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Exactly, so they no, No, I listen justin If you
- 5:58Speaker 1: left this show, I would be disappoin because I was
- 6:00Speaker 1: just funny when you left the last time. I can't
- 6:03Speaker 1: have that anymore. So I just you need to be
- 6:06Speaker 1: committed to me, and I'm getting the ring right now.
- 6:09Speaker 1: So uh, it was fun to listen to. It was okay, Well,
- 6:13Speaker 1: I felt like it was the craziest thing I've ever
- 6:15Speaker 1: experienced in my life. And I didn't know what to expect,
- 6:19Speaker 1: because you know, I don't like change when I don't
- 6:21Speaker 1: when I don't expect it especially, and then I don't
- 6:25Speaker 1: like it even more so when I don't even know
- 6:28Speaker 1: the person. But man, that turned out to be better
- 6:32Speaker 1: than I ever thought it would be so anyway, I
- 6:34Speaker 1: just now I look at Mike Rutherford and listen. I
- 6:39Speaker 1: think Mike's a nice guy. I've never listened to a show,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but I need to listen to it because I don't
- 6:43Speaker 1: see Mike Rutherford and Trevor as a mix.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But evidently they are well. So Trevor knows his place
- 6:51Speaker 2: a little bit more. Oh, he does, Mike Rutherford. Now
- 6:54Speaker 2: he still does that. Being said, he still does the
- 6:57Speaker 2: interrupts him in the middle of Mike saying something. Actually,
- 6:59Speaker 2: when when Trevor first got back and they started doing
- 7:02Speaker 2: that show again together, Yes, I'll never forget it. Mike
- 7:06Speaker 2: was trying to I don't even remember what he was
- 7:08Speaker 2: talking about, but he was trying to get some probably
- 7:10Speaker 2: didn't matter, some sort of news out, and Trevor just
- 7:13Speaker 2: kept interrupting and Mike Mike. Eventually he just stops eventually
- 7:18Speaker 2: and goes Trevor, for the love of God, let me finish.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I'll forget and see.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I like that opposite the tract, and to me, Trevor
- 7:28Speaker 1: and I are complete opposites. We don't we don't mix together.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 7:33Speaker 1: No, we're complete opposite that. Yeah, you and I are
- 7:37Speaker 1: somewhat similar, and we do think a lot ake. There'll
- 7:40Speaker 1: be times where I'll ask you a question and you'll
- 7:43Speaker 1: give the Remember you've done this multiple times, Well you'll
- 7:47Speaker 1: give the answer I was gonna give because I would
- 7:49Speaker 1: have sworn up down you had have never given that answer.
- 7:52Speaker 1: But anyway, it was a lot of fun. I appreciate
- 7:55Speaker 1: Trevor coming in late. He was late, but yeah, that's fun.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Still gave me plenty of times set up.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it did okay good and everything was fine, and
- 8:07Speaker 2: Michael Binny got to sit in the studio while you
- 8:09Speaker 2: got to eat food at a restaurant and do radio.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So good. I hope somebody sponsors us one day, but
- 8:17Speaker 2: we'll see. But yeah, show was off the rails on Friday.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I just want you to I mean, yeah, it was
- 8:23Speaker 2: completely It's like, okay, this is either going to come
- 8:26Speaker 2: across really good or really good. When you told him
- 8:30Speaker 2: to play whatever music he wanted and he fired up
- 8:32Speaker 2: Beach Boys, lost it. God, that was the There's like
- 8:37Speaker 2: three bands that you just cannot play first, and he
- 8:40Speaker 2: played two of the three. He played the Beach Boys
- 8:44Speaker 2: and the Beatles. It's like, what are you doing?
- 8:47Speaker 1: Look part of me wanted to just rip them anyway,
- 8:49Speaker 1: because I was hoping he might do something some kind
- 8:52Speaker 1: of music I didn't like, and.
- 8:53Speaker 2: He certainly did.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I would have never dreamed he would have brought up
- 8:57Speaker 1: the Beach Boys of all people.
- 8:58Speaker 4: I just didn't.
- 9:00Speaker 2: By the way, good thing you didn't listen to my
- 9:01Speaker 2: show this morning because I played the Beatles.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Oh you did, you'd have been mad. No, I wouldn't
- 9:05Speaker 1: have been mad. That's your show. Why want to get
- 9:09Speaker 1: mad at you for playing music for your own show.
- 9:12Speaker 1: You'd have been mad that you were listening oh Beatles?
- 9:14Speaker 2: Well I them all.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I would have done that, but but that
- 9:17Speaker 1: would have turned you back on so anyway, but it was,
- 9:22Speaker 1: it was. It was a lot of fun. So now
- 9:24Speaker 1: if he does fill in for you again, I'll know
- 9:27Speaker 1: what to expect and I won't have to do any
- 9:29Speaker 1: show prep because we won't talk about anything other than
- 9:32Speaker 1: random stuff that he brings up.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And because it.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I think I stimulated his mind and he certainly stimulated mine,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and we went off crazy on different things. So yeah, anyway,
- 9:46Speaker 1: all right, Universe of Kentucky got some news over the weekend.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Mark Mitchell, of course, you got the whole thing that
- 9:51Speaker 1: happened here in Louisville with the judge. Mark Mitchell found
- 9:54Speaker 1: out from the judge that he could play become eligible.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Uh and then all of a sudden, later on that
- 10:02Speaker 1: day he commissed the UK. You do realize, justin Kaylin,
- 10:11Speaker 1: UK probably has landed the best two players in the
- 10:14Speaker 1: transfer portal out of Mark Mitchell and.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Mom Chilovich. Would you say yes to that? I mean,
- 10:26Speaker 2: they've got the number one recruiting class in the country.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Oh so you're saying that too, Yeah, well, I mean
- 10:31Speaker 2: that's just what everybody's all the projectors they are. So yeah,
- 10:34Speaker 2: as far as transfer portal, so they have the number
- 10:37Speaker 2: one transfer portal class in the country, surpasses the University
- 10:41Speaker 2: of Louisville. And now you got the fun Is that,
- 10:45Speaker 2: by the way, number one and number two in the
- 10:48Speaker 2: transfer portal?
- 10:49Speaker 1: Right, that is pretty cool, I guess, But I listen again.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I go back to the point. It's like, okay, great,
- 10:56Speaker 1: let's see what happens on the on the court. That's
- 10:59Speaker 1: when it really as the most. If by next what
- 11:04Speaker 1: is it, April, University of Kentucky is cutting down nets,
- 11:07Speaker 1: then I'll say then that was good. But and the
- 11:12Speaker 1: one that could have done it this past year was
- 11:15Speaker 1: Dustin Maye in Michigan, and good for them. But I
- 11:19Speaker 1: let's just wait and see I'm excited about it. Of course,
- 11:25Speaker 1: we were all concerned about it. Everybody at the University
- 11:29Speaker 1: Kentucky as far as the fan base was like, what's
- 11:32Speaker 1: going on here? Are we going to put together a team?
- 11:35Speaker 1: And then slowly but surely Mark Pope put it together.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Now it wasn't by himself. Do you think this was
- 11:45Speaker 1: expected the entire time? Or do you think that this
- 11:48Speaker 1: is kind of dumb luck?
- 11:51Speaker 2: How this all transpired with the players that Mark Pope
- 11:54Speaker 2: has gotten. I mean a little bit of both. I mean,
- 11:58Speaker 2: I think you're right. I think every situation, I mean,
- 12:00Speaker 2: it definitely feels like the whole Mark Mitchell thing was
- 12:03Speaker 2: more dumb luck, just because you needed that court rolling
- 12:06Speaker 2: to go a certain way. And still I said on
- 12:09Speaker 2: my show this morning, I'm still not gonna get all
- 12:12Speaker 2: that excited about Mark Mitchell if I'm Kentucky fan until
- 12:15Speaker 2: I see him on the floor. Because you just saw
- 12:17Speaker 2: on Friday Louisville gets the rug swept from under their feces.
- 12:21Speaker 2: The whole Seth Trimble thing that could a similar situation
- 12:25Speaker 2: could happen with Mark Mitchell. So until he is suited
- 12:28Speaker 2: up in a Kentucky jersey playing in an actual regular
- 12:31Speaker 2: season game, I'm gonna be worried about it. Even then,
- 12:35Speaker 2: I still think there's gonna be a chance that all
- 12:37Speaker 2: this stuff isn't resolved in the courts, and you take
- 12:40Speaker 2: a chance by playing him and then lo and behold
- 12:44Speaker 2: those games you gotta throw out that he played because
- 12:46Speaker 2: he was gonna be ruled ineligible. But I just I
- 12:48Speaker 2: think there's still a lot more to come with this scenario.
- 12:51Speaker 2: So if I'm Kentucky fan, I'm not trying to get
- 12:55Speaker 2: too high on the Mark Mitchell. See.
- 12:56Speaker 1: That's what I'm worried about it as well, because you know,
- 12:58Speaker 1: Greg Sankee, the S Commissioner, has already come out publicly
- 13:03Speaker 1: and said I do not allow Mitchell to come back
- 13:09Speaker 1: and play. He's being vocal about all of this. He
- 13:12Speaker 1: is really going after all these players. And then I
- 13:14Speaker 1: don't remember the name of the player. Did you see
- 13:16Speaker 1: where there's a player that actually played in an NFL
- 13:20Speaker 1: game that LSU is trying to bring back to play
- 13:23Speaker 1: in college.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Jae Kwon Wright.
- 13:25Speaker 1: That's it, Yes, Jae Kwon Wright. I mean how that
- 13:27Speaker 1: would be the first ever time that a player has
- 13:31Speaker 1: done this, and I thought that was wild.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You know what my hope is with that situation?
- 13:36Speaker 3: What ah?
- 13:37Speaker 2: Because he has to clear waivers before he can go
- 13:40Speaker 2: back to LSU out more than anything, there's just a
- 13:43Speaker 2: team out there that's like, you know what, I don't
- 13:45Speaker 2: really like this kind of feels gross. Let me let
- 13:48Speaker 2: me go ahead and sign Daikwon, right so he can't
- 13:50Speaker 2: go back to LSU. Let me make sure this kid
- 13:53Speaker 2: doesn't clear waivers. That's what I want to see happening.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Who would it be, though? Who would do something?
- 13:59Speaker 3: Well?
- 13:59Speaker 2: And that's what that's a buzz set On the text line,
- 14:01Speaker 2: He's like, if the Browns didn't want him, nobody else
- 14:03Speaker 2: was gonna want him? Well, I mean yeah, because I'm
- 14:07Speaker 2: sure LSU's gonna pay him some pretty good money. And
- 14:10Speaker 2: would you want to take a bunch of that?
- 14:13Speaker 3: All right? Is it?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Who is Jerry Jones? A college fan of Oh? That's
- 14:20Speaker 2: a great question. Is it s MU?
- 14:23Speaker 1: Because didn't he go to Oklahoma? I was thinking he
- 14:27Speaker 1: went to Oklahoma for some reason, but maybe it's somebody
- 14:31Speaker 1: like him. Would that say, let's mess with LSU?
- 14:34Speaker 2: Arkansas. That's right, Arkansas.
- 14:38Speaker 1: What if he did that and said, let's get him,
- 14:40Speaker 1: let's get him to the Cowboys.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean just to use up a roster spot
- 14:46Speaker 2: so he can't go to LSU. I think that would
- 14:48Speaker 2: be great, that that would be the ultimate in just
- 14:51Speaker 2: shading a team that you've never liked. Yeah, Arkansas and
- 14:53Speaker 2: LSU are not fans of each other, are they wouldn't
- 14:56Speaker 2: think so. I don't even know who LSU's rival is.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Is it Alabama? I mean it seems like Alabama's everybody's
- 15:07Speaker 2: rival in the SEC except for Kentucky. Alabama.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it is Alabama. Okay, yeah, because then you
- 15:13Speaker 1: got Tennessee it says Alabama. Then you've got Auburn that
- 15:15Speaker 1: says Alabama. Who who is the most disliked school within
- 15:20Speaker 1: the SEC when it comes to football? I think recency
- 15:25Speaker 1: would tell you it's either between Georgia and Alabama, and
- 15:28Speaker 1: I'd probably go If Staban was still there winning national titles,
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'd say it's Alabama. If it was basketball, I really
- 15:34Speaker 1: think it's Kentucky. Is the biggest rival everybody wants to
- 15:37Speaker 1: beat Kentucky.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Kentucky for sure, probably is still Alabama. You think
- 15:42Speaker 2: so to a certain extent, because they've dominated the SEC
- 15:46Speaker 2: for so many years. Yeah, but I don't think Georgia
- 15:47Speaker 2: would be part of that conversation. I don't feel like
- 15:50Speaker 2: anybody hates Georgia. Oh well, just I mean I hate
- 15:54Speaker 2: I'm over in my house for a little bit. I
- 15:55Speaker 2: hate the way their players drive on the highway. But
- 15:58Speaker 2: about it, No, no, man, because I got to deal
- 16:02Speaker 2: with in laws that went to Georgia and the whole
- 16:04Speaker 2: barking thing.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I gotta deal with that. Yeah, please don't. Yeah, it's
- 16:08Speaker 1: like playing the Beach Boys. If you get a barking
- 16:10Speaker 1: dog singing a Beach Boys song, that'll be the end
- 16:14Speaker 1: of me. Okay, just what's the cigar Dog? The cigar Dog,
- 16:18Speaker 1: the little little puppet dog. Oh, I love him. Triumph,
- 16:24Speaker 1: the insult comic Dog. You just need Triumph singing Beach Boys.
- 16:27Speaker 1: That's Robert Schmeigel. I love that guy. I can't believe you. Well,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I didn't think you like Conan. Where did you see this?
- 16:35Speaker 1: That's where he came from. Oh, he came from Conan.
- 16:38Speaker 1: He originated from Conan O'Brien show. All of a sudden, exactly, Triumph,
- 16:43Speaker 1: the Insult Comic dog's hilarious. Okay, but when he goes
- 16:46Speaker 1: to the premiere of Star Wars is the greatest thing
- 16:48Speaker 1: I've ever seen in my life. Yeah, which one of
- 16:51Speaker 1: these numbers calls your parents to come pick you up?
- 16:54Speaker 1: I thought was the greatest line ever. Anyway, all right,
- 16:57Speaker 1: that's when I meet Trevor because he'll go off on that.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well yeah, y'all would be going to break it.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Oh I know, forty probably, so we would only take
- 17:05Speaker 1: one break into the entire hour. That would be the problem.
- 17:08Speaker 1: We would love to have advertisers, but they wouldn't get advertised, No,
- 17:11Speaker 1: they would No, we would just have to do live reads.
- 17:14Speaker 1: That's what we would do, all right, We got to
- 17:15Speaker 1: take our first break. Five O two three eight four
- 17:17Speaker 1: fourteen fifty. You want to call five oh two four
- 17:20Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty if you want to text in
- 17:23Speaker 1: on the Whisky Thief text I don't even tweet me
- 17:24Speaker 1: at just the cat radio. Uh yeah. We've got all
- 17:27Speaker 1: kinds of things we're gonna talk about. Because you mentioned
- 17:30Speaker 1: U of l. Liam Cohen was in the news this weekend,
- 17:35Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that, and we got some
- 17:37Speaker 1: more UK football news as well. Stay right, there a
- 17:40Speaker 1: lot more adjust the cats coming up right afternoon.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Don't call me, don't not fit to me?
- 18:26Speaker 1: Kind I feel like we're advertising for Loud or for
- 18:29Speaker 1: life with the music you're picking today. I like this
- 18:32Speaker 1: he started, I did start it, and I'm sorry, but
- 18:36Speaker 1: this is a long intro by.
- 18:37Speaker 2: The way, I didn't want to go this happy this morning.
- 18:40Speaker 2: But are you?
- 18:41Speaker 3: Oh really?
- 18:42Speaker 4: What?
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Is this a Friday morning type music? Is that what
- 18:45Speaker 2: I did?
- 18:45Speaker 3: No?
- 18:45Speaker 2: This is more like a Tuesday type music. Tuesday type music.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Why is that? I feel like we normally go like
- 18:51Speaker 2: grunge rocks on Tuesday. Okay, but no, it's fine. It's
- 18:55Speaker 2: good to get out of the groove.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I I heard the song yesterday on my radio, and
- 18:59Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, that's a good one. So I texted
- 19:01Speaker 1: it to you. So I just want to make sure
- 19:03Speaker 1: that I don't forget I sing you a song. I
- 19:07Speaker 1: still get criticized by the way, Uh, are you going
- 19:10Speaker 1: to Louder than Life or any of the festivals that
- 19:13Speaker 1: are coming.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Up in Louisville, Not that I know of, You're not.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I mean, I definitely am not going to Louder than Life.
- 19:19Speaker 2: That is, that's just not my scene. Yeah, you don't
- 19:22Speaker 2: want to go see tool. No. I don't know Limp Biscuit.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I don't know if sleep Token's coming back, but I
- 19:29Speaker 2: don't want to be there for that. Odd remember that
- 19:32Speaker 2: no people went bananas over sleep Token. Really, I was
- 19:37Speaker 2: a was a raucous crowd.
- 19:39Speaker 1: There was a band at the fair that a good
- 19:42Speaker 1: friend of mine was posting over the weekend, something of
- 19:44Speaker 1: Cherry or something cherry.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I don't know who it was.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I'm not familiar with him, but uh, it's like, Okay,
- 19:52Speaker 1: here's my problem with festival. I don't want to buy
- 19:56Speaker 1: the tickets early.
- 19:58Speaker 2: What if what if?
- 20:00Speaker 3: Uh?
- 20:03Speaker 2: What if you.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Go?
- 20:06Speaker 1: I mean you buy the tickets and then it's just
- 20:09Speaker 1: a deluge of rain the entire time. It's like, okay,
- 20:13Speaker 1: now I've wasted these tickets. I kind of feel like
- 20:15Speaker 1: I have to go. I can't sell them Louder in life.
- 20:18Speaker 1: They would probably love that, I'm really why No, they
- 20:21Speaker 1: wouldn't sure they would. Why would they love that? I
- 20:24Speaker 1: mean like the attendees would, Oh they would, oh, because
- 20:28Speaker 1: they'd be out there in the mosh pit doing their things.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Money black everywhere.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, But I don't think the people that own Louder
- 20:35Speaker 1: than life would be typically, And here I am talking
- 20:37Speaker 1: about not buying tickets. I'm not doing a really good
- 20:40Speaker 1: job of selling their their their festival.
- 20:44Speaker 2: But hey, speaking of music, Yeah, I just got a
- 20:47Speaker 2: weird text Corey Price. How you think I should respond
- 20:49Speaker 2: to this? He just texted and said, would it be
- 20:52Speaker 2: okay if I had control of the songs going in
- 20:55Speaker 2: and out of Break tomorrow? My goodness, man, he's asking
- 20:59Speaker 2: for a lot. He's been awfully demanding exactly. I mean, Michael,
- 21:04Speaker 2: you my next week if I come in.
- 21:06Speaker 1: For the entire time it's my birthday because he hasn't
- 21:10Speaker 1: birth hasn't He hasn't said enough that it's his birthday tomorrow.
- 21:15Speaker 1: So I'm hoping we all forget it's his. No, I'm
- 21:18Speaker 1: not saying that, but man, he now he wants to
- 21:21Speaker 1: do that.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna think if he wants to do that,
- 21:25Speaker 2: I say yes, I'm gonna tell him if they're all
- 21:27Speaker 2: birthday songs, no.
- 21:29Speaker 1: No, no, If it's here's all right, who's his favorite band?
- 21:33Speaker 1: Let's think about this because I'm a little now I'm
- 21:35Speaker 1: a little concerned he might be using this to get.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Back great question.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, is he going to do it and play nothing
- 21:43Speaker 1: but each Boys, Boys and Beatles. I might lose it
- 21:47Speaker 1: at that point, Okay, Uh, I will tell you I'm
- 21:50Speaker 1: playing the birthday Beatles.
- 21:51Speaker 2: It's his birthday.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I uh well play it randomly, okay because uh yeah,
- 21:57Speaker 1: and uh I might have a little surprise for Corey
- 22:00Speaker 1: Price tomorrow, so we'll have to see. But anyway, I say, yes,
- 22:06Speaker 1: Corey's a good guy. He's always doing things for other people.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Corey is the most giving person out there, especially on
- 22:14Speaker 1: social media. Oh he also asked me my favorite Krispy
- 22:16Speaker 1: Kreme donut flavor. So oh really that that's looking good? Wow,
- 22:20Speaker 1: must be nice.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I have to bring in some milk tomorrow. Okay, all right,
- 22:25Speaker 2: then it was a bad choice. Just letting you know.
- 22:29Speaker 1: One person texted out, I like the roster. I want
- 22:32Speaker 1: to play BYU and Kansas asap. Well I want to
- 22:38Speaker 1: play BYU, yes, and I want to beat them by
- 22:42Speaker 1: forty two. Okay, because that's the jersey number of Mark Pope. Incorrect,
- 22:49Speaker 1: Mark Pope's jersey number one forty two. It was not
- 22:51Speaker 1: it was forty one. It was forty one.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry about that. Well it was close. My jersey
- 22:55Speaker 2: number is forty one. By the way I did this
- 22:56Speaker 2: thing this weekend, fun little exercise. I bought a scratch
- 22:59Speaker 2: off ticket, right, and so for all the my winning
- 23:02Speaker 2: numbers and then the numbers below it, I tried to
- 23:05Speaker 2: name an athlete with that number before I would scratch
- 23:08Speaker 2: the next one. Really, and one of them was forty one.
- 23:10Speaker 2: So I was like, oh, Mark Pope one. What were
- 23:12Speaker 2: the other ones?
- 23:13Speaker 3: Oh? There was?
- 23:14Speaker 2: I mean you there was some hard ones. When that's
- 23:16Speaker 2: the thing I cannot do. If you got into like
- 23:19Speaker 2: the the upper third, like thirty eight or like forty three,
- 23:23Speaker 2: low forties, Yeah, forty six, you'd have to start thinking
- 23:27Speaker 2: about linebackers and stuff, that got pretty tough.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I see, I have a buddy that's able to do that.
- 23:32Speaker 1: If you say a number, he can name a person.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I think I got.
- 23:35Speaker 1: If you name a person, he can name the jersey number.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I think I got all.
- 23:39Speaker 2: But four of the numbers on the whole ticket. I
- 23:41Speaker 2: was able to name an athlete for Wow, that's pretty good.
- 23:44Speaker 2: There's a final exercise. I might start doing that every time.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Thirty three So, I mean I didn't get them right
- 23:51Speaker 2: off rip, I had to think about it. Probably wouldn't
- 23:54Speaker 2: make for good radio, all right, so who's forty two?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Forty two would be Jackie Robinson.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Ah, that was a little too easy, that's right, Robins. Yeah,
- 24:05Speaker 1: who's what was Jack Jeter? Derek Jeter's number? That's right,
- 24:10Speaker 1: it was too Okay, you're you are pretty good.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I'm pretty good. Yeah, Randall Cobb eighteen? That was easy. Uh,
- 24:18Speaker 2: Wesley Woodyard couldn't tell you? Really? Do you even know
- 24:22Speaker 2: who Wesley Woodyard is?
- 24:24Speaker 3: Really?
- 24:25Speaker 2: Okay?
- 24:25Speaker 1: I don't know why this guy wants to play Kansas though?
- 24:28Speaker 1: Why do you want to play Kansas?
- 24:30Speaker 2: A S A P?
- 24:31Speaker 1: But I get the whole b YU because I'm getting
- 24:33Speaker 1: to a point where I know exactly why he wants
- 24:36Speaker 1: to play Kansas. Okay, little little uh.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Freshman they've got coming in this year was supposed to
- 24:41Speaker 2: come to UK. That's right. I forgot about that.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, completely forgotten. Yeah, that took for it.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I completely for see. That's why he's out of my
- 24:50Speaker 1: mind already. Okay, Yeah, I don't care about him anymore.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Uh.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Buzz texted and said kind of a political comment here,
- 24:58Speaker 1: but when was the last big event in DC that
- 25:01Speaker 1: went off without incident like the IndyCar Race? Big day
- 25:05Speaker 1: for sports? Say that again, when was the last big
- 25:14Speaker 1: event in DC that went off without incident like the
- 25:18Speaker 1: IndyCar Race. I have no idea what he's talking about.
- 25:22Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking. That went off well. So
- 25:25Speaker 1: I don't know what's the big day for sports.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe the IndyCar Race went really well,
- 25:30Speaker 2: or maybe something happened. I don't know. I don't either.
- 25:33Speaker 2: But you think we know we do a radio show
- 25:35Speaker 2: that's all about sports. So one person.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Facts Sarah Trevor just seems like the odd couple with
- 25:44Speaker 1: anyone with anyone really Wow. Okay, Barry Switzer came from Oklahoma,
- 25:51Speaker 1: That's what it was. Barry Switzer came from Oklahoma, and
- 25:56Speaker 1: Jerry Jones came from Arkansas. I wonder if he gives
- 25:59Speaker 1: it he money to Arkansas. Uh, yeah, you think so? Absolutely?
- 26:03Speaker 2: I think so. Man, dude's a billionaire. One person do
- 26:08Speaker 2: it all for the nookie scoots what I'm gonna We're
- 26:13Speaker 2: gonna move past. Oh there there more to the story. No,
- 26:17Speaker 2: I'm just I don't I've learned in my time in
- 26:20Speaker 2: sports talk radio. If there's a text I don't understand,
- 26:22Speaker 2: I'm not gonna comment on forty one or forty two
- 26:24Speaker 2: Mark Pope Jackie Robinson really quite similar. Uh suck it
- 26:29Speaker 2: scoots for me to poop on. I see, that's what
- 26:35Speaker 2: I always love for me to poop on. Well, you
- 26:38Speaker 2: know he went to that hot dog place in Chicago
- 26:43Speaker 2: with that Jack Shreier or whatever his name was from
- 26:47Speaker 2: uh park not Parks and Recreation, but uh oh Jack
- 26:50Speaker 2: McBriar met Jack McBriar. Do you remember that when uh
- 26:54Speaker 2: uh mcbra is it McBrayer? Yeah, I watched that too
- 27:00Speaker 2: long ago. And he goes to the Wiener Circle, I
- 27:03Speaker 2: believe is what it's called in Chicago where the people
- 27:06Speaker 2: that work behind the counter yell insults at you. And
- 27:10Speaker 2: they did that to to Jack and it was really funny.
- 27:14Speaker 2: He goes, I'm gonna bring somebody back with me and
- 27:16Speaker 2: you're not gonna like them, and then here comes triumph
- 27:19Speaker 2: to come mcdog. It was funniest thing ever. So, by
- 27:22Speaker 2: the way, Jack, what's his name, Jack McBriar, McBrayer, McBrayer.
- 27:25Speaker 2: He has a new show out right now. I watched
- 27:29Speaker 2: it yesterday. It's where he he it's it's you.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Know, okay, you're gonna you're gonna make fun of me
- 27:35Speaker 1: and it's okay, and I deserved to be made fun of.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I was watching hd TV yesterday. Races were over, nothing
- 27:45Speaker 1: else was on. I'm flipping, flipping, flipping, and here is
- 27:49Speaker 1: the show that is showing an actual replica home that
- 27:54Speaker 1: somebody built in Atlanta, Georgia of the White House. Okay,
- 27:59Speaker 1: and that Jack McBrayer is the host, and he goes
- 28:03Speaker 1: around the country showing these odd houses that are actually
- 28:07Speaker 1: for sale. And I thought, this is a really interesting show.
- 28:12Speaker 1: This Zillo Gone Wild.
- 28:13Speaker 2: That's it. You've seen it before, No, I just pulled
- 28:16Speaker 2: it up on it. Oh you did? Okay, Yeah, Zillo
- 28:18Speaker 2: Gone Wild. You might find this hard to believe. But
- 28:21Speaker 2: I don't watch HGTV. I don't normally watch HGGV.
- 28:24Speaker 3: You know, I had a.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Roommate when I was living in Jacksonville. That's I might
- 28:28Speaker 2: have told you this before, but that's all she would watch.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Wait wait, you had a lady roommate. She was a
- 28:33Speaker 2: good friend of mine, but she would constantly watch HGTV
- 28:37Speaker 2: and I like so much, to the point where I
- 28:40Speaker 2: eventually had to come out and tell her, hey, you're
- 28:42Speaker 2: only allowed to watch six hours a day because I
- 28:45Speaker 2: just I couldn't do it anymore. I could not stand
- 28:48Speaker 2: watching it all day really, Okay, yeah, I'm right there
- 28:51Speaker 2: with you. Between HGTV and Food Network, that's the two channels.
- 28:56Speaker 2: I don't watch either of that. My wife watches the most.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Food Network just makes our Food Network, yeah it does. Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 1: By the way, we tried our what do you call it,
- 29:06Speaker 1: the air fryer last night for the first time. Oh yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 1: cook fried chicken and delicious. Right, yeah, now, you you
- 29:14Speaker 1: ruined your cooking style.
- 29:15Speaker 2: It was juicy. You'll do it in the air fry
- 29:18Speaker 2: every single time, now, Yeah, I know.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I think we kind of messed up a little bit,
- 29:22Speaker 1: and I think I figured it out. But we dipped
- 29:24Speaker 1: the chicken. We brined it in buttermilk and then dipped
- 29:27Speaker 1: it in the flour, and then brind it and dipped
- 29:29Speaker 1: it again, and then we let it sit for like
- 29:32Speaker 1: ten minutes, and we shouldn't have done that. I think
- 29:34Speaker 1: we should have put in the fryer right away because
- 29:38Speaker 1: the fry they said, well, you got to warm it
- 29:39Speaker 1: up for fifteen minutes and then no, that's what that's
- 29:44Speaker 1: what it told us in the directions. So we were
- 29:46Speaker 1: just going by the cookbook that was supplied. So that's
- 29:49Speaker 1: all we did. Forty eight handily said, well hold on,
- 29:56Speaker 1: let me get let me Oh my goodness. The second
- 30:01Speaker 1: oldest stakes race in America, the Travers, will be held
- 30:04Speaker 1: this weekend at storied Saratoga Racetrack. It's this weekend. Yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to this. It's gonna be a fun race.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Many consider Man of War Tour deforce there in nineteen
- 30:15Speaker 1: twenty his finest performance. Few horses complete the Derby Travers
- 30:20Speaker 1: won't happen this year. Your buddy Dale Roman's upset triple
- 30:23Speaker 1: crown hero American Pharaoh in twenty fifteen, addition with keen
- 30:27Speaker 1: Ice to keep him from accomplishing that feat. Oh, I've
- 30:30Speaker 1: talked to Dale about that.
- 30:32Speaker 2: This dude's memories a steel trap with horses completely Oh yeah,
- 30:37Speaker 2: I love everything. He needs to come on with us
- 30:39Speaker 2: Derby week. Okay, I think that would be a lot
- 30:42Speaker 2: of fun. Forty two was pat Riley's number, the Pride
- 30:45Speaker 2: of Schenectady, New York.
- 30:47Speaker 1: How do you like that? I said the name correctly. Yeah,
- 30:51Speaker 1: I mean I've never heard of it.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Well you haven't. I can't verify I said it. I
- 30:56Speaker 2: didn't realize pat Riley's number was forty two. That's where Schenectady. Yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I'll take your word for it. Well, look at there's
- 31:05Speaker 2: the name of it right there. Bud Wilkinson was the
- 31:07Speaker 2: most famous coach in Oklahoma history? Was he really?
- 31:12Speaker 1: I don't know Bud Wilkinson. I would have said Barry
- 31:14Speaker 1: Switzer was the most famous. There were other famous coaches,
- 31:19Speaker 1: weren't there from Oklahoma? Who do you think is the
- 31:24Speaker 1: most famous? It's gotta be just one. Who do you
- 31:27Speaker 1: think the most famous universe of Kentucky coaches? Because I
- 31:32Speaker 1: there's two, I think there are two. But who do
- 31:36Speaker 1: you think in history will go down as the most
- 31:39Speaker 1: famous coach in Kentucky? Were talking just football? No, I
- 31:42Speaker 1: said all sorts. Really okay, I would have said either
- 31:51Speaker 1: Adolph Repp or Bear Bryant, and I think ada. I
- 31:56Speaker 1: think it's Adolf Repp. I bet you if you went
- 31:59Speaker 1: outside of the state of Kentucky, majority of the people
- 32:03Speaker 1: would relate Bear Bryant to Alabama, not Kentucky, and wouldn't
- 32:07Speaker 1: even know that he was at Kentucky, kind of like
- 32:11Speaker 1: Bobby Knight. Bobby Knight people, I guarantee you people don't
- 32:16Speaker 1: realize he coached Army before he came to IU, and
- 32:21Speaker 1: Army could claim Bobby Knight. If you go to IU,
- 32:25Speaker 1: that's the easy answer. It's Bobby Knight, isn't it. Yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 1: just like if you go down to Florida, who's the
- 32:31Speaker 1: most famous coach in Florida in the history of you
- 32:34Speaker 1: know exactly, Steve Spring here. So I just think I'm
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm curious because you look at Rick Patino. He was
- 32:42Speaker 1: only there what six years?
- 32:45Speaker 2: Five? Six years? Yeah, but you didn't specify that it
- 32:48Speaker 2: had to be at this school. I specialized the famous.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Who's the most famous from the University Kentucky? And that's
- 32:55Speaker 2: I don't think it's eight off Rup because if you ask, huh,
- 32:57Speaker 2: what what percentage of people let's just say twenty five
- 33:01Speaker 2: and under could tell you about eight off Er, Well,
- 33:06Speaker 2: they'll tell you where he's from, Uh nobody, and there's gonna
- 33:09Speaker 2: be like ten percent maybe.
- 33:11Speaker 1: But I would still I can't tell you that kind
- 33:13Speaker 1: of information, But I would say off Roup because the
- 33:16Speaker 1: arena is named after him.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but I bet there's a large faction of people
- 33:20Speaker 2: that don't know that it is named after him.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Maybe, So okay, especially amongst the younger genera. You go
- 33:26Speaker 1: back to Rick Patino. Well, if you're going to a
- 33:28Speaker 1: younger generation, I think they're gonna say John Calipari.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Probably so interesting. Uh.
- 33:35Speaker 1: One person said thirty three Ron Mercer Ooh yeah, that's
- 33:41Speaker 1: the guy we never hear from anymore. I mean that
- 33:44Speaker 1: was a real steal out of Nashville, Tennessee. Uh forty
- 33:47Speaker 1: two Jamal mcglore. I forgot Jamal was forty two. There's
- 33:52Speaker 1: a lot of famous forty twos in UK history, pat Riley,
- 33:55Speaker 1: Jamal Willgore. I bet there's more. What was Winston Bennett's number?
- 33:59Speaker 3: Was?
- 34:00Speaker 2: Is it forty four? I think.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I want to say Winston Bennett
- 34:06Speaker 1: was forty four? Uh, forty eight?
- 34:09Speaker 2: Handley said, for twenty five, Ah, twenty five, Okay, I
- 34:12Speaker 2: did think of a thirty three. Scotty Pipps. Scottie Pippen
- 34:15Speaker 2: was thirty three. Was so was Larry Bird. So was
- 34:18Speaker 2: Larry Bird.
- 34:19Speaker 1: And I didn't realize this forty eight. Handley said, Uh,
- 34:23Speaker 1: Kareem abdul Jabbar was thirty three?
- 34:25Speaker 2: Was he really? Yeah? Yeah he was?
- 34:28Speaker 3: Wow.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Okay, there you go. Uh, let's go ahead and take
- 34:35Speaker 1: a break. Let me get to these other ones. Okay,
- 34:37Speaker 1: they're a little long, but I promise you I'll get
- 34:40Speaker 1: to him. Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty.
- 34:42Speaker 1: You want to call five oh two four one four
- 34:44Speaker 1: fourteen fifty. You want to text in on the whiskey
- 34:46Speaker 1: Ted text? I think you tweet me it just got radio. Yeah,
- 34:48Speaker 1: you tell me who? What are the famous jersey number?
- 34:50Speaker 1: I don't know these jersey numbers? And I'm I'm always
- 34:53Speaker 1: amazed by people that are able to do That was
- 34:55Speaker 1: a fun game that you did with your scratch off,
- 34:58Speaker 1: by the way, justin all right, right there more just
- 35:00Speaker 1: CAATs coming right up?
- 35:37Speaker 4: All right?
- 35:37Speaker 2: So what do you think is going.
- 35:39Speaker 1: To happen to all these schools that have lost players
- 35:43Speaker 1: because of ineligibly You think they're going to look at
- 35:47Speaker 1: the other schools. So, for instance, I mean we'll pick
- 35:51Speaker 1: on U of L right now. When UK plays U
- 35:54Speaker 1: of L. U of L lost their huge get out
- 35:58Speaker 1: of the North Carolina transfer and UK is able to
- 36:02Speaker 1: play Mark Mitchell, you think Pat Kelsey's gonna be over
- 36:07Speaker 1: there real happy about this, knowing that you know, if
- 36:10Speaker 1: I had this player, they got their transfer, I think,
- 36:12Speaker 1: get my transfer.
- 36:14Speaker 2: You think that's going to.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Create a whole nother level of lawsuits amongst different schools.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, potentially, But like I said, we're I
- 36:23Speaker 2: think we're far from done with this. I do too.
- 36:27Speaker 2: If you were to tell me today that situations are
- 36:30Speaker 2: going to be completely opposite and Seth Trimble's gonna be
- 36:33Speaker 2: eligible at Louisville and Mark Mitchell's not gonna be at Kentucky,
- 36:36Speaker 2: would that surprise me? No?
- 36:38Speaker 1: I mean I that was a bad weekend for U
- 36:41Speaker 1: of L between London Johnson and Seth Trimble within two
- 36:46Speaker 1: hours of each other.
- 36:49Speaker 2: And I always hate this. Do I think this whole
- 36:51Speaker 2: London Johnson thing happened on purpose? Maybe there's somebody playing
- 36:57Speaker 2: yourself a little more, Maybe there's somebody else out there.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I alway worry about that, this fifth year thing. And yes, London,
- 37:04Speaker 2: you weren't gonna play anyway, so we're just gonna come
- 37:06Speaker 2: out and say it was a violation of team rules.
- 37:08Speaker 2: That way, it opens up another spot for us about
- 37:11Speaker 2: and get another guy. Couldn't that create a defamation lawsuit? Though?
- 37:15Speaker 2: I mean yeah, but I don't know. If no, maybe it.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Was a little uh, because that's what I always want
- 37:22Speaker 1: to know. Okay, what did he do? And I never
- 37:24Speaker 1: like well, violation of team rules. Okay, what was the
- 37:28Speaker 1: team rule that he violated? I think it's a fair
- 37:31Speaker 1: question to ask, and what you're bringing up. You're going
- 37:34Speaker 1: deep into this because I often wonder if schools are
- 37:37Speaker 1: doing something like this, make up some kind of little violation. Well,
- 37:41Speaker 1: that's a violation, you know. I'm sorry, you're out of here.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist, but it's really easy
- 37:47Speaker 2: to be one with this whole thing because nobody really
- 37:50Speaker 2: knows what's happening. I don't feel like that at all.
- 37:54Speaker 2: You're I mean, less than one percent of people understand
- 37:57Speaker 2: all this.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I would say that's fair, but uh, but I'm more
- 38:04Speaker 1: leaning towards the London Johnson thing. It's like, oh, don't
- 38:08Speaker 1: you feel like they should say what he did. I'm
- 38:11Speaker 1: sure they will in time, you think so, because I
- 38:13Speaker 1: looked all over the internet I could not find anything
- 38:17Speaker 1: that said what he actually did to get kicked off
- 38:20Speaker 1: the team. So you're not concerned about the London Johnson thing.
- 38:23Speaker 1: You're more concerned about the Seth Tremble thing, which I
- 38:26Speaker 1: think was their biggest git. It was definitely in the
- 38:30Speaker 1: off season. It was like Kentucky landing Mark Mitchell. I
- 38:33Speaker 1: mean them getting Seth Tremble firmly etched them in the
- 38:36Speaker 1: top five.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:38Speaker 1: And then of course you know the news about Alex Safari,
- 38:41Speaker 1: the linebacker which UK really needs in football. He was
- 38:45Speaker 1: a part of the Colorado one. Now he's out. Now
- 38:48Speaker 1: he's lawyering up today and trying to become a part
- 38:50Speaker 1: of the Kentucky judgment.
- 38:52Speaker 2: You see, I don't I just don't say.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I don't understand any of that either. That one's already
- 38:55Speaker 1: over exactly like.
- 38:57Speaker 2: A decision has been made. How can you retroact be
- 39:00Speaker 2: added to that.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I have no idea, but I just think this is
- 39:06Speaker 1: the weirdest thing. And I'm like you, Okay, So the
- 39:09Speaker 1: n Cuba wins a little, they get a little bragging rights,
- 39:13Speaker 1: but everybody keeps judging for the most part in favor
- 39:18Speaker 1: of the athletes and the schools. So and then you
- 39:22Speaker 1: got a SEC commissioner coming out and saying, well, I'm
- 39:26Speaker 1: ruling for the unc double A. I mean, well, okay,
- 39:28Speaker 1: but you have no power, so what are we doing here?
- 39:32Speaker 1: I just don't think it's ever going to end. And
- 39:34Speaker 1: to me, just let them all come back like you
- 39:38Speaker 1: have said, and I'm going to give you credit for this.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Let them all come back this year and that's it.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Then after that we're done. Okay. I think the NCUBA
- 39:48Speaker 1: needs to cave on this. I just think they do.
- 39:51Speaker 1: And Greg Sanksty needs to stop saying. And I understand
- 39:56Speaker 1: he's he's trying to rule in favor of the NCAA
- 39:59Speaker 1: and back up the nc and I agree with that.
- 40:01Speaker 2: But why NCAA has never been on his side? Why
- 40:07Speaker 2: are we all of a sudden Every n c double
- 40:09Speaker 2: A has been public enemy number one because of all
- 40:12Speaker 2: the goofy things that they do. But now and and
- 40:15Speaker 2: you have all this big ten SEC should just break
- 40:18Speaker 2: away from the nc DOUBLEA. Now you got the SEC
- 40:20Speaker 2: commissioner wanting to work with them. Just it doesn't make
- 40:23Speaker 2: any sense. It doesn't.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I mean, none of it makes any sense to me.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I mean because now Greg Sankees, he's only hurting his
- 40:30Speaker 1: own school.
- 40:31Speaker 2: So why do you want to do that?
- 40:32Speaker 1: Don't you want to see these schools succeed in the
- 40:34Speaker 1: NCAA tournament as well as in football season?
- 40:37Speaker 2: I mean, do you do it? If I'm him, it's
- 40:39Speaker 2: it's gonna be like Oprah giving away cars like you
- 40:41Speaker 2: get eligibility and you get eligibility. Yeah, everybody, come on down.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Yeah not a fan, by the way, one Texter John
- 40:50Speaker 1: here said, yes, I agree. Adding Mitchell to this roster
- 40:53Speaker 1: is awesome. If I were the Kentucky basketball staff, especially
- 40:57Speaker 1: coach Mark pro Pope and mister Mitchell, I would be
- 40:59Speaker 1: setting up a meeting with the SEC Commissioner. I would
- 41:03Speaker 1: have Mitchell say in his own words why he wants
- 41:06Speaker 1: to be at Kentucky. I would let mister Mitchell say
- 41:09Speaker 1: it with nothing prepared for him, just let it come
- 41:12Speaker 1: from him, so, in other words, come from his heart. Also,
- 41:15Speaker 1: if I am Kentucky and mister Mitchell, I would want
- 41:18Speaker 1: to show where he is in his degree work, so
- 41:21Speaker 1: he can show he still somewhat values the education experience.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I would want this meeting face to face. I would
- 41:28Speaker 1: just get out in front of it. Now that you
- 41:31Speaker 1: know what the court is granted, just have a two
- 41:35Speaker 1: genuine conversations and go from there.
- 41:37Speaker 2: I do like that idea meeting up less. Thank you, Yes,
- 41:40Speaker 2: I listen.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I've always said, especially in sales or if you're trying
- 41:45Speaker 1: to get somebody to agree with you, you always meet
- 41:49Speaker 1: with them face to face. You never want to have
- 41:53Speaker 1: somebody do something over a telephone, via email or a
- 41:59Speaker 1: zoom exact. I mean, if you want to really get
- 42:02Speaker 1: a commit to come commit to your school, you can't
- 42:05Speaker 1: do it by zoom. You got to get them to
- 42:07Speaker 1: come to your school and see everything in person. That's
- 42:11Speaker 1: when it works the most.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Now zoom worked was zoom? It did, and it worked
- 42:16Speaker 2: with uh mom Chilovitch too, didn't it? Yeah?
- 42:19Speaker 1: I guess it did so. Also, Michael, you and Justin
- 42:24Speaker 1: still make a darn good team as well. You are
- 42:26Speaker 1: simply the best in the AM guys together for sure.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I'll stop with that. Okay, why are you all worried
- 42:35Speaker 1: about this? I am concerned. You're really worried about this?
- 42:40Speaker 1: I am I I have not said anything to anybody
- 42:43Speaker 1: else that I want anybody to replace you, and I
- 42:45Speaker 1: never will.
- 42:46Speaker 2: If Trevor was a morning guy, I would be I
- 42:48Speaker 2: would be worried about it. But Trevor, why would you
- 42:51Speaker 2: be worried about it? Do you think I said any
- 42:56Speaker 2: I would say something about that. You got to know
- 42:58Speaker 2: me better than I'm a loyal I'm not saying I
- 43:01Speaker 2: don't trust you. I'm just saying i'd have you in
- 43:05Speaker 2: the powers that be would be saying something. I don't
- 43:08Speaker 2: know what they're thinking anymore.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I think they don't ever listen to these shows. I
- 43:14Speaker 1: could say anything about any of them, they'd never find
- 43:16Speaker 1: out because they don't listen. And I'm not going to
- 43:20Speaker 1: That's not my style. But oh my goodness, here's a
- 43:22Speaker 1: whole line up right here. U thirty two was Magic
- 43:26Speaker 1: Magic Johnson's jersey number. I remember that one. How could You're? Sixty?
- 43:30Speaker 2: Six was Mario Lemieux? Do you know who Mario Lemieux is?
- 43:36Speaker 2: Hockey player?
- 43:37Speaker 1: Exactly? U ninety nine was Gretzky. I didn't remember. Number
- 43:41Speaker 1: three was the babe bay Ruth. Oh, I didn't know
- 43:44Speaker 1: that either. Yeah, twenty three we all know. Twenty three
- 43:47Speaker 1: is Michael Jordan. That's twenty four and eight was Kobe.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Why did he switch jersey numbers? Was it taken on?
- 43:55Speaker 4: Uh?
- 43:56Speaker 2: There was a reasoning for it. I don't know. I'm
- 43:59Speaker 2: not sure.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Double zero I should have remembered this one was my favorite,
- 44:03Speaker 1: Tony Delk and Otega. Oh wait, Number two was Couch.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Twenty two was Jared Lorenzen. That's a good one. Three
- 44:11Speaker 1: is Rex before he went insane. I didn't mean to laugh.
- 44:17Speaker 1: So hard at that. Forty four was Chuck Hayes. I
- 44:20Speaker 1: love Chuck Hayes and dan Issels Scoots isn't worried about
- 44:22Speaker 1: Trevor because there's no way Trevor can show up consistently
- 44:26Speaker 1: before noon.
- 44:27Speaker 2: That's true. So there you go. You don't ever have
- 44:28Speaker 2: to worry about it. Pete Rose was fourteen. We all
- 44:31Speaker 2: know that. Okay, what was Johnny Binch? Five?
- 44:35Speaker 1: George Foster? I think George wasn't George Foster forty four?
- 44:40Speaker 1: I don't remember. I'm I'm just going from memory here.
- 44:42Speaker 1: I don't remember that. Pee Rereached the captain of those
- 44:45Speaker 1: great Brooklyn Dodgers teams in the fifties, and a little
- 44:48Speaker 1: Nativle wore the number one. So there you go. All right,
- 44:50Speaker 1: we gotta take a break. Hour two coming right up,
- 44:53Speaker 1: Stay right there.
- 44:55Speaker 4: This is just a Cat.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:20Speaker 1: All right now, we're number two on this Monday. If
- 45:22Speaker 1: you want to give us call, you can do that
- 45:24Speaker 1: five O two three four fourteen fifty. If you want
- 45:26Speaker 1: to text me on the Whiskey Thief text line, you
- 45:27Speaker 1: can do that as well. At five oh two four
- 45:29Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty or tweet me at the uh
- 45:32Speaker 1: just the cat radio.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Uh.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Help's kind of well, where's my voice? Am I twelve
- 45:37Speaker 2: years old?
- 45:37Speaker 3: Again?
- 45:38Speaker 2: Thirteen? What age were you and your voice changed? I
- 45:42Speaker 2: want to say I was thirteen.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I think I was too, and then I went from
- 45:46Speaker 1: you know, a high pitched little kid to a deep voice.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Michael Bennett. This is the weirdest thing. Yeah, my nephew,
- 45:52Speaker 2: my oldest nephew's going through that right now. Oh really,
- 45:55Speaker 2: and it's been it's been kind of hard for me
- 45:58Speaker 2: because I'm he's not that little kid voice anymore now,
- 46:01Speaker 2: starting to sound like a man.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I bet they grow. Oh I couldn't agree more.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I mean, my niece's two little boys are growing up
- 46:10Speaker 1: like crazy. One is in I think it's fifth or
- 46:13Speaker 1: sixth grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, and the other one
- 46:16Speaker 1: is going into second grade. And then my other niece,
- 46:21Speaker 1: her daughter is going into second grade or third grade.
- 46:25Speaker 1: And it's just like, oh, man, I missed this because
- 46:27Speaker 1: I love them. They're they're one of my one niece,
- 46:32Speaker 1: niece's little girl. Gosh, she's she's a Bennett through and through.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I mean she has got oh exactly. And not only that,
- 46:40Speaker 1: she's really pretty on top of it all. But uh,
- 46:43Speaker 1: and then I got my other niece's youngest son. He's
- 46:45Speaker 1: a He's a Bennett through and through because he's a character.
- 46:49Speaker 1: But anyway, Uh, I know you talked about it, but
- 46:51Speaker 1: I want to talk about it as well, because I
- 46:53Speaker 1: thought this was really funny. Uh. There is a senate
- 46:56Speaker 1: race in the state of Alaska that has a four
- 47:00Speaker 1: I'm mayor Dan Sullivan endorsing incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan for
- 47:07Speaker 1: reelection over a retired teacher on the other side named
- 47:11Speaker 1: Dan Sullivan.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I love this. I mean, is this like, is that
- 47:16Speaker 2: name in Oh No, it's in Alaska. It's in Alaska.
- 47:19Speaker 2: I was thinking it was Canada. I was like, is
- 47:20Speaker 2: that like our Chris Jones here in America? Now americ
- 47:23Speaker 2: This is American? Yeah, very much so.
- 47:26Speaker 1: So Dan Dan Sullivan's endorsing dance Dan Sullivan to get
- 47:31Speaker 1: re elected over Dan Sullivan. I think this is the
- 47:34Speaker 1: funniest thing, cause you know, I don't like talking politics,
- 47:38Speaker 1: but when I saw this, it's like, I gotta talk
- 47:40Speaker 1: about this. And so the one side is saying, well,
- 47:44Speaker 1: wait a minute now, and they're trying to go after
- 47:47Speaker 1: the other side because of going after a Dan Sullivan
- 47:51Speaker 1: to go after Dan Sullivan and saying, well, they're just
- 47:54Speaker 1: trying to confuse the voters.
- 47:57Speaker 2: So now.
- 47:59Speaker 1: The Alaska Supreme Court rule last month that teacher Dan
- 48:04Speaker 1: Sullivan can stay on the ballot. So do you think
- 48:09Speaker 1: this is instigation by one side to confuse voters by
- 48:14Speaker 1: going out seeking a person named Dan Sullivan so he
- 48:18Speaker 1: could win the Senate seat in the state of Alaska
- 48:22Speaker 1: as Dan Sullivan.
- 48:24Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know if you need any of that,
- 48:27Speaker 2: because it's it's confusing already as it is, So you
- 48:32Speaker 2: don't think it's confusing anyway, No, confused, It's already very confusing.
- 48:38Speaker 2: You do you think it's intentional then by the one side? Maybe?
- 48:45Speaker 2: I mean, does the other Dan Sullivan have political experience.
- 48:49Speaker 1: That I don't know's he's a retired teacher and so
- 48:53Speaker 1: I don't know if what do I think that could happen?
- 48:56Speaker 2: Yes?
- 48:57Speaker 1: Do I think it's happening in this instant? I really
- 48:59Speaker 1: don't know. Oh, I need more information before I can
- 49:01Speaker 1: say that. Uh, the one side is going after the
- 49:04Speaker 1: other side. They're always going after each side. I mean,
- 49:08Speaker 1: come on, we always admit that, But that is kind
- 49:11Speaker 1: of fun. Wasn't there an Eddie Eddie Murphy movie where
- 49:16Speaker 1: he was running for senate and he won because his
- 49:21Speaker 1: name was the exact same as the the other senator
- 49:25Speaker 1: that had passed away. I think there was.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I know text Texters can tell me out there five
- 49:31Speaker 2: or two four one, four fourteen. It was a funny movie.
- 49:34Speaker 2: What so, this is kind of like the whole day
- 49:38Speaker 2: Kwon Wright situation coming from the Browns to lsu. Yes,
- 49:42Speaker 2: I hope this backfire is in the worst way possible.
- 49:45Speaker 2: I hope everybody gets so confused. Did they vote for
- 49:48Speaker 2: the joker that shouldn't be in there?
- 49:50Speaker 1: Well, then that's what you're falling into the hands of
- 49:53Speaker 1: the trap of the What they were probably are they're
- 49:56Speaker 1: being accused of doing is electing the wrong Dan Sullivan.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Well, so they want a certain Dan Sullivan to win.
- 50:03Speaker 1: They want the incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan to win or
- 50:07Speaker 1: the other side wants him to lose. And that's why
- 50:10Speaker 1: they got Dan Sullivan, the former teacher to run for office.
- 50:14Speaker 2: See, I mean, I just can't exactly. This is like
- 50:18Speaker 2: talking injunctions. I mean I have a better chance of
- 50:20Speaker 2: talking injunctions than I do this and my head is spinning.
- 50:24Speaker 2: I saw this, I thought, I really thought it was funny.
- 50:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't throw it past any political side to do
- 50:31Speaker 1: something like this to confuse the whole situation. Can you
- 50:34Speaker 1: imagine if there was let's just all right, let's for
- 50:38Speaker 1: the sake of example, let's say there was another Donald
- 50:40Speaker 1: Trump out there, but his political views are completely different
- 50:45Speaker 1: than the president Donald Trump. Would you see that as well?
- 50:50Speaker 1: They're just trying to confuse them, or they're trying to
- 50:53Speaker 1: get an actual Donald Trump to become president of the
- 50:57Speaker 1: United States.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Well, I mean, the majority of people that are voting
- 51:00Speaker 2: out there are are voting straight red or blue. Right,
- 51:05Speaker 2: I would so, if you say that fair question, I
- 51:08Speaker 2: think that is the case. If you see Donald Trump red,
- 51:10Speaker 2: you're gonna vote for Donald Trump red, not Donald Trump blue. Yeah,
- 51:14Speaker 2: you think so. And it's the same. I think it's
- 51:16Speaker 2: the same thing with this, with this situation, the Stan
- 51:18Speaker 2: Sullivan situation. They're they're gonna vote for their part. Well
- 51:21Speaker 2: do when you go vote, do you push one side
- 51:23Speaker 2: or the other? Just neither?
- 51:25Speaker 1: See I don't either. Even though most people likel you
- 51:28Speaker 1: we all know what political side you're on. Well you might,
- 51:31Speaker 1: but I still don't just push one button, say just
- 51:34Speaker 1: vote all the way down, because there are sometimes that
- 51:37Speaker 1: I will vote for somebody else.
- 51:38Speaker 2: I mean there's some quite frankly, no matter which party
- 51:41Speaker 2: you follow, there's always gonna be some bad options on
- 51:43Speaker 2: your part. Oh.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Absolutely that That's that's always been my complaint, uh, in
- 51:48Speaker 1: this state. I mean, I just don't feel like we've
- 51:50Speaker 1: had anybody running good for political office here on either side.
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'm not picking on one side of the other. It's
- 51:56Speaker 1: just like, come on, can't we find some good people?
- 51:58Speaker 1: But you know what, I think the good people don't
- 52:01Speaker 1: want to run for office. They see how dirty it is. Like,
- 52:04Speaker 1: for instance, I've got a really close friend I've grown
- 52:07Speaker 1: up with, former military that I have begged. He's the
- 52:13Speaker 1: colonel I've talked about, Colonel Walter Hurt. I've talked about
- 52:15Speaker 1: him several times, very close friend I've literally grown up with.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I have begged him to run for office, and he
- 52:21Speaker 1: won't do it. He's like, I just don't. It's politics
- 52:25Speaker 1: is so dirty. I would never do And that's why
- 52:27Speaker 1: I don't like talking about it. It's just like, what's
- 52:29Speaker 1: good about it? Would you ever consider running for politics?
- 52:33Speaker 2: See? I wouldn't either, not even that would never even
- 52:37Speaker 2: be a remote thought.
- 52:39Speaker 1: And I don't have anything in my past that I
- 52:41Speaker 1: would be necessarily embarrassed by. I mean, my past is
- 52:45Speaker 1: my past. I move forward. I mean, so, anyway, I
- 52:49Speaker 1: think a lot of people know I didn't graduate from college.
- 52:51Speaker 1: I mean that would be one thing. Oh yeah, I didn't.
- 52:55Speaker 2: You're not fit to lead our country exactly?
- 52:58Speaker 1: Really am I not? It's kind of successful in business,
- 53:01Speaker 1: That's what they would say. Yeah, just because I didn't
- 53:04Speaker 1: get a college degree. But anyway, and I'm not now see,
- 53:07Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say that. And people work really hard
- 53:10Speaker 1: to get those and I admire that. I just I
- 53:13Speaker 1: struggled in school. I sucked at it. But just put
- 53:16Speaker 1: you out by the way. I don't know if you
- 53:18Speaker 1: saw this. Last week, Michigan announced that the and I'm
- 53:21Speaker 1: talking about the University of Michigan announced that for the
- 53:26Speaker 1: first time in their history, and we're talking about going
- 53:32Speaker 1: all the way back since they opened the stadium in
- 53:35Speaker 1: nineteen twenty seven, they are going to allow advertisements within
- 53:40Speaker 1: their stadium.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Wow, welcome to twenty twenty six missions. That's exactly what
- 53:44Speaker 2: I thought. It's like, I never knew they didn't have.
- 53:47Speaker 2: And I've been to the Big House before. I went
- 53:49Speaker 2: there for a game one game about probably ten years ago.
- 53:53Speaker 2: I've never seen a game, but I've been to the stadium.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Have you how it sinks down?
- 53:57Speaker 3: Oh?
- 53:58Speaker 2: So cool? Yeah?
- 53:58Speaker 1: It is because you walk around the stadium is like, well,
- 54:01Speaker 1: this place isn't that big, and then you walk in
- 54:03Speaker 1: It's like, oh wow, it goes down into the ground.
- 54:06Speaker 2: That is wold. It is cool.
- 54:08Speaker 1: But I didn't realize they didn't have any advertisement. But
- 54:11Speaker 1: now thanks to NIL, they're getting advertisements because I gotta
- 54:16Speaker 1: pay for all these players.
- 54:17Speaker 2: What do you think about Michigan doing this? I mean
- 54:19Speaker 2: it's like you see your rival Ohio State sign a
- 54:23Speaker 2: twenty million dollar a year Jersey patch. Yeah, and you
- 54:27Speaker 2: don't allow advertisement in your stadium. Yeah that seems really dumb. Yeah,
- 54:33Speaker 2: yeah it is. It is dumb, and you're losing a
- 54:36Speaker 2: lot of financial opportunities. And I think they finally said,
- 54:40Speaker 2: you know what, we're gonna have to bite our lip
- 54:42Speaker 2: and just say we're going to allow advertising in our statedium.
- 54:45Speaker 2: But does advertising in the stadium really work? I know
- 54:50Speaker 2: we talked about the patches, but do you think advertising
- 54:52Speaker 2: can you name one advertisement at a stadium. Yeah, you can't.
- 54:59Speaker 2: I mean back to the TBT this summer when La
- 55:02Speaker 2: Familia was playing the vill and you had what corn
- 55:06Speaker 2: bred him. They were on the Oh, I don't remember that, really,
- 55:10Speaker 2: they're yeah, I mean I don't really pay attention to it,
- 55:13Speaker 2: probably like they want me to. Yeah, but yeah, I'll
- 55:16Speaker 2: notice it from me. See, I recognize Yum. But I
- 55:21Speaker 2: only recognize Yum because I live in Louisville. If I
- 55:24Speaker 2: lived in California, for instance, and I saw, oh, h
- 55:29Speaker 2: u l is playing the game against uh uh somebody
- 55:33Speaker 2: and then they're playing in their stadium called Yum, I
- 55:36Speaker 2: wouldn't know who Yum was.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Like, I don't know who so Fi is. Neither I
- 55:41Speaker 1: know who Raymond James is because my wife is a
- 55:44Speaker 1: financial advisor with Raymond James.
- 55:45Speaker 2: But that's all. I mean. Advertising is just there to
- 55:51Speaker 2: basically make you see this company, right, I mean like,
- 55:56Speaker 2: so we're not seeing it, so is it truly working?
- 55:59Speaker 2: But if it's and yeah, I mean if you're people
- 56:01Speaker 2: in the stadium are seeing it, are they?
- 56:05Speaker 1: But that's not the people, Okay, But you want those
- 56:08Speaker 1: people to see it, and you want, like if you
- 56:10Speaker 1: get the name rights of a stadium. You want people
- 56:13Speaker 1: to recognize that not I don't think I do.
- 56:16Speaker 2: I mean a lot of them are kind of stupid,
- 56:18Speaker 2: like Kentucky's included. Why it has to be Kroger, Like
- 56:22Speaker 2: everybody knows of Kroger. I don't think Kroger needs any advertising.
- 56:26Speaker 2: It's like somebody going out and signed this is Walmart Field.
- 56:29Speaker 2: That's that's stupid. Everybody knows of Walmart. Well, all right,
- 56:33Speaker 2: all right, let's talk about the Staples. Staples being like McDonald's,
- 56:38Speaker 2: Coca Cola, KFC. Do you think they need to spend
- 56:42Speaker 2: money on advertising? No, no, I don't either.
- 56:45Speaker 1: But why do they continue to spend I bet that
- 56:48Speaker 1: because they want the billions of dollars, because they want
- 56:51Speaker 1: to stay fresh in people's head.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Evidently that's what it's all about.
- 56:54Speaker 3: Now.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Actually, last week, so at my other station, we got
- 56:57Speaker 2: a new sponsor. And I had never heard of this company,
- 57:01Speaker 2: despite being in Harrison County every single day. They're a
- 57:04Speaker 2: Harrison County company. I've never seen them. I'm driving in
- 57:07Speaker 2: to the State studio, but Thursday and lo and behold,
- 57:12Speaker 2: I am following one of these trucks for our new company. Ah,
- 57:17Speaker 2: I've probably seen it a dozen times, but I never
- 57:21Speaker 2: I never had never clicked in my brain until they
- 57:23Speaker 2: were a sponsor and I saw that, and I was like, oh,
- 57:26Speaker 2: how cool is that? So, I mean, that's what advertising's
- 57:28Speaker 2: there for. It's to keep companies fresh in your mind,
- 57:31Speaker 2: so when you do have a need, you'll go to
- 57:34Speaker 2: them opposed to anybody.
- 57:35Speaker 1: All right, So then you could say that's why McDonald's
- 57:38Speaker 1: and Coca Cola does all that kind of stuff.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and they just got all this influx of money.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Why is coke better at McDonald's anywhere else? It is true?
- 57:49Speaker 2: I don't know it is true though. Seriously, Hey, I
- 57:52Speaker 2: mean that's just all they found drinks. The sprite sprites better,
- 57:55Speaker 2: is it really? Oh yeah, there is something to it.
- 57:58Speaker 2: There is something magical. I go to McDonald it's the straw. Okay,
- 58:02Speaker 2: here we go again with the straw thing. It's the straw.
- 58:07Speaker 2: It's wider and it allows more those bubbles to come through.
- 58:12Speaker 2: I just I'm not buying that. I'm just not I'm
- 58:15Speaker 2: not asking you to buy it.
- 58:16Speaker 3: I know.
- 58:17Speaker 1: All right then, well, uh, twenty four to seven we
- 58:20Speaker 1: talked briefly about beginning the show. Sports Now ranks UK
- 58:24Speaker 1: number one overall over u of L number two UH
- 58:28Speaker 1: as far as transfer portal, UK has two five star players,
- 58:33Speaker 1: three four star players and two three star players. U
- 58:37Speaker 1: of L one five star, five four star and two
- 58:40Speaker 1: three three stars. Is the pressure now been released from
- 58:48Speaker 1: Pat Kelsey and the pressure is firmly back on Mark
- 58:51Speaker 1: Pope to succeed as a basketball coach with this team.
- 58:54Speaker 2: No, I think they still both have pressure. You do, really,
- 58:57Speaker 2: I listen. I still think Pat Kelsey does with the
- 59:00Speaker 2: amount of money they spent. I don't think it's a
- 59:02Speaker 2: I don't think it's the rankings so much. I think
- 59:06Speaker 2: more now it's becoming the financial investment on these teams.
- 59:10Speaker 2: I bet they're really close. Really mm hmm, I don't know.
- 59:15Speaker 2: I can't answer that. I think, what do you think
- 59:18Speaker 2: you gave Mark Mitchell at least three?
- 59:21Speaker 1: I was going to see three to four at least three.
- 59:24Speaker 1: But but don't you think it's not the pressure on
- 59:26Speaker 1: the coaches as far as the rankings, how high they
- 59:30Speaker 1: are ranked. It's now the pressure of how much was
- 59:32Speaker 1: spent on their team. I think if you put out
- 59:36Speaker 1: the rankings of most spent teams in the country. UH
- 59:41Speaker 1: of course ukuf L would be up there. But if
- 59:44Speaker 1: you're number one, two, three, or four, I would have
- 59:47Speaker 1: to say that is more pressure than actually being ranked
- 59:52Speaker 1: as one, two, three, or four, because people are going
- 59:56Speaker 1: to really question you, Well, if you spent that much
- 59:59Speaker 1: money and you don't succeed.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Why am I going to give you more money? I
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: guess it just depends on each coach's mindset. If I
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: had my perfect world, each of these teams would have
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: gms that are going out and filling these rosters. Yeah,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: the coaches have to be a part of it because
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: they want to have a discussions with the players and
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: make sure that they fit the system and all that.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: But I don't see a reason in today's day and
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: age for the coach to know anything about the financials.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: I don't know how that, but who if you're the
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: leader of that team, you I know, but you at
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: some point you have to let go and trust that
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: you're GM or whoever you got in charge of that
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: is capable of doing this sort of thing. So that
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: way you don't have the pressure of the money because
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: you complete ignorance. I have no idea what my roster cost.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: I just I know all these guys fit my system.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: I like them all, and I know we're in the
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: top five.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Let's roll all right, let's use Phil Jackson and pat Riley,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: highly successful coaches within the NBA. You think they knew
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: no thing about the finances of their the players that
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: played for them.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: No, that's what I'm saying. I think every coach knows
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: the finances, and no matter the level, no matter the sport.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: I think every coach knows that. But my thinking is
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: if they didn't know that, I think it would be
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: a lot better for not only them, but for the
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: team as well, because you're gonna obviously you're gonna favor
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: players that are making more money. Oh really, I would
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: think so.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: You think Cal favors players that are making more money
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: because he's got to prove that they were worth all
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: that money.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I don't know if I meant so much at the
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: at the college level, but it definitely happens a professional level.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I see. I think it happened with Cal. I think
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: he favored just because of the fact that he was
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: paying more money to certain players or certain PROMI I
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: don't want to get into that, but UK basketball announced
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: yesterday or over the weekend, Hoops and Heels is going
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: to be on Friday, September twenty fifth, from seven to nine.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: The hell is hoops and yeah, you're gonna find out
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: this minute. It costs one hundred dollars and if you
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: spend fifty more dollars and get you get assigned the
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: UK jersey. It's a women's event. Hoops and heels. I mean,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: think about it. Are they gonna be hooping and heels?
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna be hooping and heels, but
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: they do say come prepared to sweat.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: I don't know. This may be the first miss since
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: j Bat took over.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: No, they listen. They've had women's events for football for
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: many years. Before football started the season, they would have
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: women's stay out at the stadium for football. And I'm like,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: why does it always have to be women's stuff? I mean,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I'm not being chauvinistic, Okay, I just would like a
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: men event every now and then.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: I feel like adding heels to the title is kind
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: of chauvinistic. Well, I mean they're not wearing heels while
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: they're playing. No, but we have to indicate that it's
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: a women. We have to make sure people know it's
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: a women's thing. Throw heels on it, so you would
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: rather put hoops and dresses. I'd rather just hoops and spandex.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: I mean, don't you eat an article of clothing or
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: a shoe or anything to signify that it's a women's event.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I mean, hoops and hair. I don't like, I don't
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: eat anything like that. Okay, well, I mean that's what
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: they're trying to indicate. And I'm a little upset because
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: I want to hoops and cowboy boots.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Hoops and boots. Wouldn't that be great?
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Right there?
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: There you go, hoops and boots sponsored by Michael Bennett.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: And we want to have a deal for the men
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: to come there and be able to work out in
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Joe Kraft and then meet the coach. I'd pay fifty
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: dollars for a signed jersey. I don't know, but good
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: for them. Congratulations women, you get your own event again.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: And one day, hopefully men will have an event too,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: or at least allow the husbands to join along with
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: their wives. I mean that would be nice. So all right,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: we gotta take a break. Amazon. I want to talk
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: about them when we come back. Plus Penn State, man,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: you you got it going on there. I mean, it
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: must be a real easy school. I should have gone
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to Penn State, is what I think, because the way
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: their quarterback is getting his education is just it's it's
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: a wild day. So anyway, stay right there. Plus we
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: got to talk about Liam Cohen. Was he throwing shade
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: at Kentucky? We'll see this.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: Is just a cat no way.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: See doesn't that get you going on the Monday morning?
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: I love that right there? What it does suck on
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Monday morning?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Oh come on, my gosh, man makes doing a screen.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: It does good in a good way. I'm sure one
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: person texted in Oklahoma will take care of the Wolverines.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I don't know if Oklahoma's going to be as great
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: as everybody says. Are you do you have complete confidence?
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Are you really okay? I remember Caro Syrup advertised on
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: the right field wall of old Cardinals Stadium had Hank
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Aaron's picture on it. Really, I man, I don't remember
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: any advertising from it, because you know that used to
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: be the thing back in the day when you had
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: the old time baseball fields where they'd have the advertising
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: on the fence. Boston and New York are really famous
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: for that. Isn't there like a mason or something that
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: they always advertise, and I think it's an office product store,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: if I remember correctly. After the Northeast, you're too young
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: for Cairo Syrup Michael, Yeah, I am, I don't.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: I don't remember that, and I'm sorry.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: One person said you've been to the Big House before, Michael. Yeah, huh?
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Did someone bake you a cake with a file in it?
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: To get out what?
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: I think he's referring to? Jail? Oh? Really? Okay? Oh okay,
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: why is that jail the big House? I don't know.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Oh, because it's referred to as the Big House. Okay,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I get it. Yeah. I think half my knowledge of
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: how to do things comes from bugs, Bunny. I think
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: that's what today's generation is really lack. Yeah, yeah, I
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: would have to agree with that. Hardy's has a wonderful
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: taste and commercials through the years. Kate Upton can sell
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: me a burger anytime she wants.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Heard that? Really, who's Kate Upton? Stop it? Justin Berlander's wife?
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Oh that girl Kate? Okay? Yeah, really, okay, that's fine, Yeah,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: she's she's fine. I don't know. I was always a
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Kathy Ireland girl. We go Yeah, sorry, I know it's
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: old so you don't know who Kathy Ireland is, are you?
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: That's okay, She's fine. Yeah, well that's fine too.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Pretty cool to see former UK football player Shia's pete
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: over the weekend. I don't know if you heard about
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: the story, but he got to play in his first
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Cowboy games. And also this was the first time ever
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: that the Navajo Nation had had a player play in
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: the NFL, and he had all kinds of people supporting him, friends, family.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: He said he lost count of all the Navajo Nation
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: flags that were at the Cowboys game, and he said
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: how much he appreciated that, And I thought that was
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: really cool. He was fun having there at UK last year.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: I really liked him, and I hope he makes the team.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: They say he has a really good shot, and it'd
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: be really cool to see that. So all right, let's
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: talk about Jackson Jaguars for a second, because they have
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: a head coach.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: There.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Are you familiar with who Liam Cohen is, because I've
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: already forgotten I'm familiar. Yeah, former University Kentucky offensive coordinator.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: I only remember him from the first st in though. Yeah,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: oh yeah, that's well exactly. He admitted on a podcast
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: that leaving Sean McVay and the BRAMS for UK is
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: the biggest regret of his career because he chased money,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: made an ego decision and realized he walked away when
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: things got hard. I heard that, and I would I
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: read the statement. That's like, wait, wait, wait, wait wait,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I gotta go hear the statement first before I completely
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: come down with an opinion. I have to hear the context.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I went and listened to this, and I thought, Okay,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: is he throwing shade at Mark Stoops in the universe
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: of Kentucky or is he not?
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Granted after and he admitted this Liam Cohen did after
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: he left the Rams, they go and win a Super Bowl?
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: He does.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: I can see where you'd regret that. But did he
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: need to call out UK and say it was the
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: biggest regret, because, if I remember correctly justin he left
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: UK when things got hard too.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: It's like, wait a minute, Well, you can't have it
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: both ways. You left the RAMS when it was getting hard,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: and let's let's fully admit this. You left Mark Stoops
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: and UK when it really got hard. So which way
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: is it? So do you regret leaving UK as well?
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I I just didn't like that. I didn't think and
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I've always been a big fan of Liam Cohen. I
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: want him to succeed. But when I saw this, it's like, hmm,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I didn't like the feel of this. What are your thoughts?
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: So I was I was on a different wavelength until
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: you just brought up the fact that, yeah, he did
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: leave Kentucky that first time when things got hard, and
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: if you're going to the Rams, it kind of feels
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: like you're very obviously chasing money. So initially, when I
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: heard this this quote, I'm like, Okay, I had respect
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: for Liam Cohen and I still do. It's not like
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: I'll just lost respect for him, but oh I lost
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: a little respect in him. I like that he came out,
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: and I don't think he was intentionally trying to throw
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: shade at Kentucky. I think it was more so the
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: fact that he was just going through his mindset of Hey,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I don't I don't want to be a money chaser.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: I don't really want to give up and quit when
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: things get hard. That was what I took out of
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: the quote, the fact that he's just he wants to
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: be a better person in those situations. But then you
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: bring up all that situation about leaving Kentucky the first time,
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: and that's exactly what he did when he left the RAMS.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: So now I don't I don't know what to think about.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Your mind's easy to change, by the way, and I
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: love that. My mind's not changed. My mind's just in
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: a pretzel, like it's been all morning. Yeah, oh, it
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: has really something going on all morning. I mean, just
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: with all those things we were talking about, like the
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: whole injunction thing and the leading and the Dan Sullivan
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: thing for crying out loud, the brain can not get untwisted.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: The Dan Sullivan thing was meant to be just fun.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Don't let that confuse you because Dan Sullivan's uh uh
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: going uh and and endorsing Dan Sullivan against Dan Sullivan.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Don't let that this is too much because wasn't there
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: wasn't Danny Sullivan from Louisville who won the Indy five hundred.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: That's correct.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Yeah, So don't let Dan Sullivan fool you. You because we
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: want Dan Sullivan to be the next elected Alaskan senator.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Uh and because you know, Dan Sullivan endorsed him, it's
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: too much.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: Dance Sullivan.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: I love that.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: I think that's fine.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Come on, don't let something like that bother you. See
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: my brain just my votes for Dan Sullivan over Dan Sullivan.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: My brain just works in a way where I have
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: I want to have a complete understanding of things. And
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: there's just been a lot of topics this morning that
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: I know, I know, and I'm sorry about that, but
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: some of these topics are actually really fun to me.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: The injunction thing, I'm with you, it is too much
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: because now and what has messed it completely?
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: Yup.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Now you got one judge that's been over ruled in
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Colorado that's saying, well, wait a minute, no, they can't
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: do this, And now that messes up Afari And it's like,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: come on, really, really, I mean, why did he.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: Go way out there?
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: Why would he not have come and joined the Kentucky
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: version of this.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Because based on the Colorado one, he thought he was good. Yeah,
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: nobody's playing in Kentucky. How can you go all the
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: way out there and just well that was a blanket.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: I know, that was a blanket.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: It's just it's just it's way too much for me.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: One person texted, and he left UK the first time
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: after a ten win season. He left the uk second
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: time to be a coordinator in the NFL, which led
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: him being a head coach in the NFL. Yeah, but
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: he didn't know he was going to be a head
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: coach after that. He left here to go be the
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: assistant and head offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Bucks.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: And then I thought he was crazy for taking the
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Jacksonville job, because you know, that owner there for the
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: Jaguars is known to keep a coach and then spin
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: him right out after a couple of years, and that's
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: that was my biggest concern. But Ludhold, he goes up there,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: he's on fire. He's doing a phenomenal job for the Jaguars.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I just don't to me. If you're going to come
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: back and say something about a former job you had,
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: you don't name the job. Otherwise you are trying to
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: blow a little shade towards them. You just don't say.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: You don't hear me coming back and saying, yeah, I
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: worked for them, and Andy, I regret that I worked
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: for them. You don't do that unless you're trying to
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: show shade. You just say, yeah, I made a decision
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: working for that company, and now I'm in a better spot,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: and I just I appreciate the people I'm working for,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: and this has been great for me and it's been
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: a great decision for our family. That's what I think.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: But saying the University of Kentucky, you can't tell me
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: he wasn't throwing shade at UK or Mark Soups for
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: that fact.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: I just I didn't take it that way.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Well, I understand, and I've listened to it twice now
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: his interview. I hear what you're saying. I'm just gonna
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: politely disagree.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: That's fine. You just don't mention it. That's when you
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: know Josh takes it out. Said.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Cohen said he only regretted the second time he left
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: the RAMS and went to the UK, not the first time.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: He said, he and his wife love Kentucky.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but the first time other than Lexington Texter letting
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: us know that was coming off a ten win season. Yes,
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: you weren't leaving because it got hard, but you were
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: still leaving to chase the money, right, I mean, you're
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: gonna get way more money in the NFL being in
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: OC than you would and at the college level.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: And that second time he left for money and it
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: was getting hard. It just was so and I think
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: part of it was he got a little upset that
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Mark Stoops was considering, uh leaving, going to Texas A
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: and M. I think that really messed up. If that
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: had never gotten out and he didn't go to Texas
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: A and M, I don't I think I think Cohen
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: would have stayed.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: It's just just don't don't use the name of your
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: former employer. Then I would have been fine with it.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: So that's that's what I think.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: You're I'm you're only not fine with it because it's
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: he shouldn't have mentioned you, k because you're it's the school,
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: you're a fan. No. I if this would have happened
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: with another head coach in the NFL and came out
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: and said, Hey, my biggest regret is when I left Oklahoma,
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: you wouldn't be talking about her throwing a fit of it.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Oh correct, this is a UK show. Of course I
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: wouldn't be talking about it. I wouldn't care, but I
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: would still feel the same.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: So in that instance, you would still think that he
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: shouldn't throw out his former employee exactly.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I don't have hundred percent. You don't throw your former
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: employee under the bus like that. I just don't think
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: so even if let's just say, for instance, to the school,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: I cannot stand if there's Tennessee, it's like, ooh, that
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: doesn't look good. Yeah, I would have definitely thought that,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: and you would not have been able to change my mind.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: Well, that being said, the biggest regret of my career
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: is working at Hiatt Place. How about that it's working
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: were now? Am I wrong for calling out my former Yeah?
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: My former job. Yeah, don't do that. I don't really care. Wow, Okay,
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: screw what was the name of the company? Hiatt Place?
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Was the name of the hotel? Oh? Okay, I won't
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: throw the company under the bus. Wow, quite frankly, because
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: I don't remember it. Woo. Okay, I just I just
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: I don't think that's nice.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I don't think it's plight no matter what they did
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: to you anyway, I don't want a lawsuit from a
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: hotel company. Okay, please don't say something like that. They're
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: coming with a lawsuit at little old me. They got biggers. Yeah, well,
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: there are companies out there that do that. Because you
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: got a big voice, you're on the radio, just because
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: you don't come on now anyway, all right, we gotta
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: take our last break. Five O two three four fourteen fifty.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: You want to call five O two four one four
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: fourteen fifty, you want to text When we come back,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: we gotta talk about Penn State and I love how
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Amazon's delivering packages. Now we'll talk about that too. Stay
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: right there.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: This is just a guys, my gosh.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: I mean, I was having at least an upbeat type song.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Now you're going down right before we go off the air.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: This one picks it up in the It's a great song,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong. I love this, but we're not
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: gonna we're not gonna hear the pickup part.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: You will at the end of the show.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Oh okay, So I got to listen to the end
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: of the show before I hear the good stuff. Okay,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: all right, okay, good Uh did you see the high
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: school down in uh what is it Alabama? Is it Greensboro, Alabama? No, No,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: it's Huntsville, Alabama. It's called Columbia High School. Had lost
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: a hundred and one game.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Whoa, that's like ten straight years.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: It's gotta be something like that exactly. They won forty
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: one fourteen over the weekend against Greensboro High school to
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: break that one hundred and one streak game Streaksboro, Oh exactly,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: that's exactly what I was thinking about, freaking boom. So
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: the Columbia High School, who is now one in one
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: hundred and one, is coached by former NFL player Sammy Coates. Okay,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: and I thought this was pretty cool. All right, so
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: it dates back to the losing streak. You're right, October
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: of twenty fifteen, ending the longest act of losing streak
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: in US high school football.
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Two thousand and fifteen. I saw that story, like, that's nice,
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: they finally win a game, but holy cow, that that
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: has to be is the coach new.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: That I do know?
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: No, I do not know how long he's been there,
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: but good for them, and I'm celebrating them today even
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: though I have never heard of until yesterday of Columbia
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: High School. So anyway, they can no longer be called
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: the Losing Streaks, but they got to come up with
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: a new mascot. So anyway, Penn State, can we talk
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: about their quarterback Rock Obec.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: He is skipping in person classes this year and taking
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: a custom course created by or created for him and
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: here's the funny part. He doesn't even know what the
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: courses are about me. He was asked by somebody, what
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: what what courses are you taking? And he said, I
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: don't know yet. We haven't picked any yet. I mean
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: school starts like now. College is wild today. Okay, cause
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: you know you got the whole South Carolina guy that's
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: working at the greatest drive driving range in the country.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Party. What was it called? Part party?
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: Horrible?
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, it is awesome. You're not changing my
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: mind on that. That's a horrible man.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: And Penn State now doesn't have to go to end class.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: If he was a normal student, do you think he
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: would be allowed to do this?
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: Doesn't he already have his degree?
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: Though?
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, You mean, it doesn't matter. He's still
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: participating as a student at this university. He's not taking
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: any in class at least, he's still taking classes in
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: person classes. Really, Okay, that's the way I see it.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: All Right, then, well, I'm glad you see it that way.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: I'm just gonna have to politely disagree with you. I
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: think it's just crazy you go to a school Penn
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: State is supposed to be a prestige prestigious school, is
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: it not? Isn't it known as a pretty academic school.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: I just thought it was. I would say any of
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: the D one schools are like that. Yeah, and yet
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: he's allowed to not even have to go to in
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: person class, which, okay, it's crazy, but it sounds like
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: you're just jealous. Of course I'm jealous.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I would have been able to get a degree if
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: I didn't have to go to in uh in person classes?
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: Are you kidding? That's awesome? Anyway? Okay, man, I didn't
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: go to in person classes either. You didn't. I still
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: got a degree. How did you get away with going
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: to not in person classes? I mean I did. I
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: did have in person classes, I just never went really
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: and you passed? Oh you want to talk about skipping classes?
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: This guy right here? Wow, okay, must be nice. I
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: don't know how I did it.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: I don't either. I'd like to know how you did this.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: Were you not required to go to those classes because
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: there was? Oh no, I was very much so Well,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: how'd you get away?
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: That was the good thing about IU as all the
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: classes are so huge there's like three hundred people in
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: every class. Yeah that if you you didn't show up.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: Nobody noticed.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember the statistics teacher I had at UK
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: congratulations because the number of students that did not come
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: to the first day of class will flunk this What
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: was it. I think it was like seventy four percent
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: will flunk this class, and then if you don't come
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: the second one, it goes up to like ninety eight
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: percent will fail this class.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: I mean the first class was bogus. Let's go over
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: the syllabus. It was always the same one. I can
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: read the syllabus on my own time, thank you very much.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: There was one class that I actually kept the book
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: because the teacher wrote the book. It was a history
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: on Kentucky. It was the greatest class. I loved every
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: say and I kept the book. I still have it
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: today and I know exactly where it is. And the
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: professor wrote the book on the history of Kentucky and
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I wonder how outdated that is?
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that is true. It would be fun
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: because you know we're talking now, good this forty years ago,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: and you figure, okay, what how outdated would it be,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: and then compare it to a history book of Kentucky
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: today and see if there's differences, And I just.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: Think of all the things that have changed in this
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: state in the last forty years, you know, like youum
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: Center wasn't even a thing.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: Okay, as far as history in Kentucky, what is history
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: that's probably happened the forty years that you would know?
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: I can't think of anything that would be of significance,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: can you? I mean other than yeah, YOUM center is
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: a growth, I guess.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: I mean KFC moved out of Kentucky. Yeah, that's pretty
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: big history. Yeah, it is. There's probably lots of things
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: that aren't in that book that should be. Yeah. Now,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: and who had ever thought that Humana that was such
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: a big, big force in the in the city would
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: be the shell of what it once was human of
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: Papa John's for that fact, I mean Muhammad Ali even
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: that's the city.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was for completely different reason. But he
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: came back, didn't he? When you consider him coming back, okay,
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: I just meant that he's no longer with us.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: Oh jeez, Okay, I wouldn't. Man, that was really dark. Uh.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: One person texted you always throwing shade at iHeart, Michael Am.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: I really not always, but you do frequently. I do
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: what if I said about iHeart? I mean, I think
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: you just brought up the fact that you wouldn't throw
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: shade at your former employeer.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: You do, I know, but I don't remember saying stuff
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: about iHeart.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: Did it used to be like that at heart? Yeah?
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: You from top? Okay, Well, I don't mean to I'll
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: need to stop that now. So uh.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: Amazon has announced that they are looking to do more
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: deliveries by drone.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: Do you like this idea? Unless I have a pool? Yes? Yeah?
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: In Texas, the customer received their first drone package delivered
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: to their house, only to have the drone drop the
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: package into the customer's pool.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: What did you? All? Right?
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: How does this work? Do you have any idea? Is
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: there actually somebody? Is this all.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Robotic driven? Is anybody really manning these drones? I would
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: think it would be all automated. It's all automated, like yeah,
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: like a cruise control. Yeah.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Isn't there a button that they can push in the
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: computer to say, hey, dude, don't drop this at the
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: back of the house into a pool. I did think
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: that was funny. I'm sure Amazon I care of it,
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: but I guess.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: It depends what's in the package.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: So right, like, oh, I'm sure, yeah, Oh, you'd probably
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: have to replace that a lot of something electronic.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but a lot of things that you order from Amazon,
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: they could probably get wet and it just be fine.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: Yeah, because you look at it and think, well, you
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: know it's going to rain today, it might get wet.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: But in that situation, that was really funny because it
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: like it dropped it in the middle of the pool
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: completely and the lady there was nothing she could She
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: would have had to get in the pool. I guess
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: you could have got one of those nets.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: That they the pool out with. Yeah, they could have
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: done something like that. But I loved it. I thought
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: that was hilarious.
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: Do you like though that companies?
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Because Walmart is now looking at this, There's all kinds
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: of large uh companies that are looking at delivering by drone.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: It makes me a little nervous. Is there gonna be
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: any kind of accident with a private plane?
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean I do worry about it from an
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: air traffic control perspective, yes, But from a technology perspective,
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: I think it's really awesome. The fact that we're just
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: leaning into this and if it's gonna save people a
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: bunch of time or money, then yeah, I'm all for it,
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: are you? I don't know. I don't not be cool
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: sitting on your porch and seeing one of those just
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: drive up, like, oh, there's my package. Here it comes
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: I can hear it. Well, it's kind of like.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: The little robots that are now delivering for Uber and
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: they always get stuck or something. Don't you just want
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: to go over there and mess with it?
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: I just want to get it unstuck.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Really, I mean, what what happens if there's somebody out
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: there and they got their shotgun and hey, there goes
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: a drone. I think I'll just shoot it down and
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: there goes your path. I'm sure that'll happen. But that's
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: the thing. They're going to be able to catch those
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: people easily. Are they really all those drones and stuff
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: have cameras on them.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: That's yeah, well they have to have cameras on, But
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: how are you going to recover the camera if the
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: thing was shot down and somebody takes the drone in
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: the package and boom, you've lost everything. Now good point.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: I don't know how I feel about this whole drone thing.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: I mean, have you ever flown one. No, they're fine,
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: are they?
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Have one?
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: I have one? Yeah, and I love them. I think
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: they're a lot of fun to mess around with. But anyway, yeah,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: all right, anything else, I ain't got nothing. I see
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: I I'm kind of the same way. It's the first
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: time ever kind of run out of the topics. But uh,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: we got a busy week this week. I will be Oh,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: we didn't talk volleyball. Oh oh, that's the heck. Vigael, Oh,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Were you not locked into Kentucky volleyball this weekend because
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: I was? Or are you really tell you why? I
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: watched a majority of their match against Wisconsin on Friday.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: And then you watched the loss against Pittsburgh too, and
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: then I watched all of that yesterday. Yeah that was
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: but it was still an entertaining game. They didn't seem
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: like they were themselves against Pittsburgh. They didn't know and
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: it's not like they did on Friday. Yeah, it was disappointing,
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: but I mean, that's that's gonna happen. And I think
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: when they lose early in the season, any team that is.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to pick on volleyball. It's a
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: good thing because I think you learned from your mistakes
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: and then you move on from there.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: When you didn't lose to anybody, lost to the number
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: four team in the country. Yeah, so no, I just
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: I love the fact that volleyball is doing all these
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: early big season matchups like I do too. It is
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: so entertaining. I could have could probably watched volleyball all weekend.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: I didn't really check out any of the others, but.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: And then they got their big game coming up at
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: Wrigley Field too.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: I would love to go to that.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: I just I'm not gonna be able to go, so
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: that to me, I'm definitely gonna be watching it because
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: I think that's gonna be an event. That's the only
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: way you can describe it. That is a great event
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: that they have done. I hoping there's gonna be a
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: big crowd up there.
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: It's gonna be a fun season for Kentucky. I'll tell
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: you that right now. It is, and uh, we're gonna
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: have fun with them too. So anyway, all right, that's
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: gonna do it for us today. If you want to
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: join me tomorrow, I would appreciate it, but we'll be
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: right back here at it tomorrow. I got the take off.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: Many of y'all know, we had a little incident with
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: some a close friend of ours last week and we're
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: gonna take a three or.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: Four days off. I'm gonna take care of my wife.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: So fine, Yeah, we're gonna do that Thursday, Friday, and
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: Monday and win through Thursday off next week. So there
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: you go. So I got six days, Michael.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: I know, I'm sorry, sorry, but I'm doing this for
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: somebody that's special, Okay. So yeah, all right, buddy, we're
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: gonna take off. Well, we'll see you tomorrow. Can you
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: you got a commercial you can just go to.
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: No, you're gonna do that all. It's time to go
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: out and we'll see you tomorrow and just the cats
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: thereby
