- 0:13Speaker 1: Welcome back to IG Part two.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's Kelly ben Simone, one of your celebrity mentors here
- 0:18Speaker 2: on the pod. I am having so much fun with
- 0:22Speaker 2: this show, and I've been really open about putting myself
- 0:25Speaker 2: back out there into the dating scene and just being
- 0:28Speaker 2: really open to meeting people and having a good time.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So today we're going to talk about setups not only
- 0:34Speaker 2: in the romantic but also in the platonic. So we're
- 0:38Speaker 2: meeting Cheryl Burke, who I love so much, and also
- 0:42Speaker 2: my producers Amy Sugarman and Heather Monday are also have
- 0:48Speaker 2: set me up and are going to set me up
- 0:51Speaker 2: with a platonic relationship, a new friend and a romantic one.
- 0:57Speaker 1: So I have a lot of fun.
- 0:59Speaker 3: In So what we want people to know is this
- 1:04Speaker 3: is real, right, It's not it's not like we didn't
- 1:08Speaker 3: cast this person.
- 1:10Speaker 4: It's not a celebrity.
- 1:11Speaker 3: This is an actual, real setup that we hope on
- 1:15Speaker 3: the romantic one that you'll really possibly like this guy.
- 1:19Speaker 4: So it's it's totally real.
- 1:22Speaker 3: But we do have his permission to give all the details.
- 1:25Speaker 4: So we want to take everyone on this journey with you.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yes, this has been very exciting and very fun, so
- 1:35Speaker 2: Amy Sugarman introduced me to a really nice guy.
- 1:39Speaker 1: He's a lawyer.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Hey, what do we call him? Do we call him
- 1:42Speaker 5: tennis Man? Do we call him?
- 1:44Speaker 4: Because he's a real guy? Because this is a total guy.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Not a famous person, not a person on a dating show,
- 1:51Speaker 3: not a person like who wants to be on the
- 1:53Speaker 3: reality show. It's a real guy. So we just got
- 1:55Speaker 3: to give him a nickname. So what are we calling him?
- 1:57Speaker 1: The tennis Man?
- 2:00Speaker 2: Oh?
- 2:00Speaker 4: Mister Tennis.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Okay, that's really good.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, So.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I've known mister Tennis since seventh grade and I'm fifty,
- 2:10Speaker 3: so that's a lot of years. I know his family.
- 2:15Speaker 3: His sister's one of my oldest friends. I know his parents,
- 2:19Speaker 3: so I can definitely vouch for this guy.
- 2:22Speaker 4: And basically he was in a relationship.
- 2:25Speaker 3: He's out of that relationship, and I said, Hey, I
- 2:29Speaker 3: want to set you up with my friend Kelly.
- 2:32Speaker 4: He did know who you were, like, he's never.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Really watched, but he knew your name and I think
- 2:36Speaker 3: he knew what you looked like.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Ok.
- 2:39Speaker 3: And so basically we started a text group with the.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Four of us. He probably was like, why are there
- 2:45Speaker 4: two supervisors in here?
- 2:47Speaker 3: But so we want everyone listening, like we're going to
- 2:50Speaker 3: tell you the real, real stuff.
- 2:52Speaker 4: So Heather read, So basically, I started.
- 2:55Speaker 5: The text and said, Amy played matchmaker, Kelly, meet mister Tennis,
- 3:00Speaker 5: and then read what Kelly's first text was.
- 3:04Speaker 6: Kelly said, Aloha.
- 3:07Speaker 5: I don't live in Hawaii, but I think Aloha really
- 3:11Speaker 5: sums me up, sonny and happy about everything.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Have an amazing holiday season.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Now, did Jana not tell you not to write aloha anymore?
- 3:22Speaker 1: She did?
- 3:24Speaker 4: Okay, so that's Finana Kramer did.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Jana Kramer did tell me her advice was to not
- 3:29Speaker 2: write aloha, but it's just.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Like my thing.
- 3:31Speaker 4: That's fine, you be you.
- 3:33Speaker 2: And I also like the fact that it's like very
- 3:36Speaker 2: me because it is very sunny. But it's also like
- 3:39Speaker 2: no one says aloa must It's.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Fine, it's fine, It's totally fine. We're not gonna judge it.
- 3:46Speaker 3: We're just gonna do it. So then he responded quickly,
- 3:50Speaker 3: and Heather and I were still in the text at
- 3:52Speaker 3: this point, and then Heather what did he say next?
- 3:55Speaker 5: He said, Hey, Amy, you're amazing and always looking out
- 3:58Speaker 5: for me. I'm very appreciate of that, Kelly. I'm glad
- 4:02Speaker 5: we have connected. Amy says nothing but great things about you.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Your energy is fun and cool, positive and smart with
- 4:10Speaker 5: an amazing smile. I live in LA and from San
- 4:14Speaker 5: Francisco Bay Area. My work office is headquartered in New York.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Have a great holiday season. We'd love to connect over
- 4:21Speaker 5: the phone and or in person at some point soon.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Okay, so all right, let's analyze this.
- 4:28Speaker 3: He's got some game, right, Like I think he's got
- 4:32Speaker 3: game because he's super nice, but he also is like
- 4:36Speaker 3: dropping the carrot or whatever the saying would be. He's
- 4:40Speaker 3: dangling the carrot. He's saying, let's connect on the phone.
- 4:45Speaker 4: So he's figuring out a way to get me and
- 4:47Speaker 4: Heather out.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Of there, and then he's saying some nice compliments acknowledging
- 4:52Speaker 3: he knows who you are and he's seen you. And
- 4:54Speaker 3: then also he's kind of moving it along right like
- 4:56Speaker 3: he's saying, let's maybe see each other in.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Per And he's also saying that your area is already
- 5:03Speaker 5: on his radar, like he, oh, yeah, not a problem
- 5:07Speaker 5: for you to be on the East coast, Like that
- 5:09Speaker 5: works for him, is what he's saying. And he's throwing
- 5:11Speaker 5: in a really nice compliment saying that you have a
- 5:14Speaker 5: beautiful smile. So he's showing attraction as well in this message.
- 5:19Speaker 4: So, Kelly, how did you feel when you first got
- 5:22Speaker 4: the text? And have you seen his picture? Have I
- 5:25Speaker 4: sent you a picture of him?
- 5:26Speaker 1: He sent me, yes, a thirst trap was very attractive. Yes,
- 5:29Speaker 1: oh good, okay, yeah he said.
- 5:31Speaker 6: You a thirst trap?
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he said, Amy said this was a thirst trap?
- 5:36Speaker 4: Wait which picture did he send you? Is he with
- 5:38Speaker 4: the kids?
- 5:38Speaker 6: Stless at the gym? Like where is he?
- 5:41Speaker 1: He sent me one with his kids, but he sent
- 5:44Speaker 1: me one where he's like on a blue T shirt
- 5:46Speaker 1: and he's kind of like looking out, and then he
- 5:49Speaker 1: said another one.
- 5:49Speaker 2: He's obviously playing tennis because he'd in green and he's
- 5:53Speaker 2: like looking down.
- 5:54Speaker 4: He's a really good tennis player.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely athletic, which I love. And he's also he's
- 6:00Speaker 1: just you know, I like, I really like smart.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he's really smart. So how we went to college together? Also,
- 6:07Speaker 3: so we went to Berkeley, so I will out that
- 6:09Speaker 3: he went.
- 6:10Speaker 4: He's smart.
- 6:10Speaker 3: So how did you feel based on his first text
- 6:13Speaker 3: before you saw the picture? Just from the text, were
- 6:16Speaker 3: you feeling like, I don't know, just judge the text?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Reading his text was like so nice and it was
- 6:22Speaker 2: really sweet for him to be complimentary, but not like mushy.
- 6:25Speaker 1: He just was like, you're funny.
- 6:27Speaker 2: You know, you have a nice personality, and you know
- 6:31Speaker 2: he could tell immediately. I think that's when the aloha
- 6:33Speaker 2: is nice because like people are like, oh my god,
- 6:35Speaker 2: she's like playful and I'm not taking myself too seriously.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And he was also very proactive about making a plan.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And he's been like, yeah, okay, when am I talking
- 6:45Speaker 2: to you on the phone. I'm like, well okay, oh
- 6:46Speaker 2: my god.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah, so he's like okay.
- 6:49Speaker 3: So behind the scenes, he did call me because he
- 6:52Speaker 3: sort of said, should I go to New York? Because
- 6:55Speaker 3: he does he doesn't have his kids right now, so
- 6:58Speaker 3: he was like, uh, should.
- 6:59Speaker 6: I do that?
- 7:00Speaker 4: And I did encourage him.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, like Kurpe, dim do this, Like yeah,
- 7:05Speaker 3: And you would have been excited, right if he jumped
- 7:08Speaker 3: on a plane.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Oh he was supposed to come tonight because he has
- 7:10Speaker 2: his kids tomorrow, and he was I thought that was
- 7:12Speaker 2: also really amazing that he was just going to hop
- 7:15Speaker 2: on a plane, come and see me for dinner and
- 7:17Speaker 2: then leave the next day and see his kids. Like
- 7:20Speaker 2: that's like real, that's like legit. It's not like, let
- 7:24Speaker 2: me talk to you after the New Year. Hope you're
- 7:27Speaker 2: having a nice time.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 3: He's definitely not like half assing this. He's like, I
- 7:34Speaker 3: want to go out with you, which I think is great.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And he's also like a real human, like he's a dad,
- 7:40Speaker 2: he's he has a great job, like he's a real human.
- 7:43Speaker 1: He's not you know, So what has happened since?
- 7:47Speaker 4: He Okay, so he basically started texting you.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Without Heather and I being able to see. So we
- 7:53Speaker 3: can't see it anymore. So what have you guys talked
- 7:55Speaker 3: on the phone or just text or what not yet?
- 7:58Speaker 2: But he said, uh, hi, kel, I hope you're having
- 8:00Speaker 2: a great Christmas and save travels Vermont. I said, Aloha
- 8:03Speaker 2: is working today hopefully leaving leaving tomorrow.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Vermont.
- 8:07Speaker 2: How's your And then I said how's your day? He
- 8:09Speaker 2: said Aloha?
- 8:11Speaker 1: He loves it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: He goes, Aloha working the day after Christmas is very impressive.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I should too, but I started running errands and haven't
- 8:18Speaker 2: stopped going to play tennis around four thirty.
- 8:20Speaker 1: That's very cool. Vermont looks so peaceful.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I'm watching this show on Peacock called based on a
- 8:25Speaker 2: true story, which is so ridiculous, but I now kind
- 8:28Speaker 2: of like it.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I needed a break from the drama thrillers.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, because I want to follow this.
- 8:33Speaker 4: So he's watching it, or you're watching it.
- 8:35Speaker 1: He's watching it.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Oh, so he's really engaging. Okay, Okay, good keep going.
- 8:39Speaker 6: That's a good show.
- 8:40Speaker 4: By the way, I'm going to watch it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: He's telling me what he's doing, which is like, it's
- 8:44Speaker 2: not like hey, I'm He's like, this is my day, Kelly,
- 8:48Speaker 2: I'm playing to mister Tennis is like playing tennis and
- 8:51Speaker 2: he's watching you know, Peacock.
- 8:53Speaker 5: He's also a meaty texter, like these are like yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 5: little paragraphs. It's really putting some thought behind it. You're
- 9:00Speaker 5: not getting the one word answer. You're not getting like
- 9:03Speaker 5: multiple bubbles. You're getting like nice, little meaty responses, which
- 9:07Speaker 5: I think is a good sign.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Okay, let me ask Okay, I'm gonna finish reading that
- 9:10Speaker 2: and then I want to ask you about the bubbles
- 9:13Speaker 2: and the meaty texting. So remind me of that. So
- 9:17Speaker 2: he said, looks Pete von Vermont, looks peaceful. He's he's
- 9:21Speaker 2: watching Peacock. That we should talk over the phone at
- 9:24Speaker 2: some point, right, Oh.
- 9:26Speaker 4: That's good.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I like that he wrote that, I know there are
- 9:29Speaker 3: there are rules blah blah blah.
- 9:31Speaker 1: But what do you think?
- 9:32Speaker 4: What are the rules? What does he mean there are rules?
- 9:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Is he remember the
- 9:37Speaker 1: book the rules? Remember the book?
- 9:40Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Okay?
- 9:41Speaker 2: And I said, I'd love that exclamation point. Tell me
- 9:44Speaker 2: when the house I'm saying at is an old inn.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I'm excited to relax and ski. And then he said,
- 9:51Speaker 2: so he goes, okay, He's like back to the date.
- 9:55Speaker 2: He's like, that's nice to hear about your of a
- 9:56Speaker 2: cover modifacation. But Kelly, he was like, this is text
- 10:00Speaker 2: they're trying to like the president.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Kelly. I like that he uses my name. But I
- 10:04Speaker 1: know there is a.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Time difference, So don't want to call you too late.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I can try around nine thirty or ten.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Oh, so you're supposed to get a call tonight.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yes, I know, getting a call in like three hours? Okay,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I can, I can.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I can call you tonight your time or this weekend
- 10:19Speaker 2: or on a chairlift or something.
- 10:20Speaker 1: That was very clever and fun. That's so nice. While
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm jealous with lax, the wine chill you deserve it.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I mean, that's just a very also thoughtful, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 2: way of understanding what I'm doing, but also saying like
- 10:33Speaker 2: we're doing this per meeting.
- 10:35Speaker 5: That's a that's a flirty technique he's using by saying
- 10:38Speaker 5: your name in the text. That is a flirting technique
- 10:41Speaker 5: to show your interest and engaged. When you continue to
- 10:44Speaker 5: say somebody's name to them back and forth. That's he's
- 10:48Speaker 5: very interested. This is like really good green green flag,
- 10:53Speaker 5: green flag, you know.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, And I like that he's scheduling the time for
- 10:57Speaker 3: the call you too, that's good too.
- 10:59Speaker 4: And I'm not coaching him up at all.
- 11:01Speaker 3: He's doing this all on his own, other than asking
- 11:04Speaker 3: me if it was like too crazy for him to
- 11:06Speaker 3: come visit you soon, and I said, no, it's not.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Do it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: That's so cute.
- 11:09Speaker 2: So here's my question about the bubbles, because okay, so
- 11:14Speaker 2: my youngest daughter said, you're only supposed to have a
- 11:18Speaker 2: little bit of blue and they're supposed to be more
- 11:21Speaker 2: of the conversation. That's like that, that's one of the
- 11:24Speaker 2: things that were that that you're you're.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Supposed to do in texting.
- 11:27Speaker 2: So but I so then I was like, well, okay,
- 11:30Speaker 2: so I'll do like I do like one bubble, two bubbles,
- 11:33Speaker 2: three bubbles and then I'll stop. But he does a
- 11:35Speaker 2: meaty text like to Heather's points, So what do you
- 11:39Speaker 2: I mean not that there's any rules, And again I
- 11:41Speaker 2: know I'm not I'm I'm not following rules and doing
- 11:45Speaker 2: whatever whatever I want in a genuine way, but just
- 11:49Speaker 2: to be mindful of like people's phone time, Like what
- 11:52Speaker 2: is normal protocol?
- 11:55Speaker 6: I think you just said it.
- 11:56Speaker 5: You do what you want. You're you're having good bab
- 12:00Speaker 5: answer back and forth. You're in different time zones. I say,
- 12:03Speaker 5: do what you want. It's not like you're blowing him
- 12:05Speaker 5: up at three in the morning, you know, on his
- 12:08Speaker 5: coast and six am where you are. You know, you're
- 12:11Speaker 5: being mindful. He's wanting to actually take it off of
- 12:14Speaker 5: texting and go.
- 12:15Speaker 6: To a phone call. So I think that's even better.
- 12:17Speaker 3: This is what I prefer about a setup versus like
- 12:21Speaker 3: dating apps that I I feel it's just terrible, these
- 12:26Speaker 3: dating apps that people have to use, because I think
- 12:29Speaker 3: that's when you start playing this weird game and you're
- 12:32Speaker 3: all like you don't know this person.
- 12:34Speaker 4: It's like you you know me, I've set you up.
- 12:38Speaker 4: This guy knows you he's a good guy.
- 12:40Speaker 3: He has every intention of being a good guy going
- 12:44Speaker 3: out with you. We know he thinks you're cute, So
- 12:47Speaker 3: I think you it's easier you just be you and
- 12:50Speaker 3: he's gonna be him.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I think the apps are make it really hard, but with.
- 12:55Speaker 5: The flow, because let's say tonight's call goes really well,
- 12:59Speaker 5: then you want to like talk again tomorrow.
- 13:02Speaker 6: Talk again tomorrow, do another.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Cally do right, and don't feel like, oh I need
- 13:08Speaker 5: to like be less available.
- 13:10Speaker 6: To like show him that I'm not. Don't don't do
- 13:13Speaker 6: any of that. Don't play that. That's a game.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Your daughters are in their twenties and a lot next
- 13:18Speaker 5: and flirting, you have to follow that kind of protocol.
- 13:21Speaker 5: When you're in your I do part two, those things
- 13:25Speaker 5: go out the window.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, I agree.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Wait, okay, so first of all, we're gonna definitely have
- 13:31Speaker 3: to talk to you on air tomorrow so we can
- 13:35Speaker 3: find out how the call goes tonight. So just you know,
- 13:39Speaker 3: try to remember, take a little bit of notes because,
- 13:42Speaker 3: like I said, this is a real guy, but he
- 13:44Speaker 3: has given us permission to give all the details, so
- 13:48Speaker 3: we're not betraying that.
- 13:50Speaker 2: No, And you know what else, I really liked is
- 13:52Speaker 2: that he said, you know, we can talk tonight. We
- 13:57Speaker 2: can he wants to talk tonight, but he also said,
- 13:59Speaker 2: like we can also talk on the chairlift. We can
- 14:02Speaker 2: talk on the weekend. Basically, it's just like we can
- 14:04Speaker 2: talk anytime. Well, like some guys are like you want me,
- 14:08Speaker 2: you want to talk to me on the chairlift? Why
- 14:09Speaker 2: don't you talk to me when you can like really
- 14:11Speaker 2: talk to me. And so he wants to like be
- 14:13Speaker 2: a part of my life too, and he once he's
- 14:17Speaker 2: trying to share what he's doing with his life, which
- 14:19Speaker 2: I think is really really really sweet.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels very loose.
- 14:23Speaker 5: He's not hiding behind a keyboard. He's like, let's get
- 14:26Speaker 5: let's get on the phone, like let's talk and get
- 14:29Speaker 5: in like exchange energy, you know what I mean. Like
- 14:32Speaker 5: that's what he seems to be all about. And that
- 14:35Speaker 5: is unfortunately a lost sense of communication as generations go on,
- 14:41Speaker 5: more and more people don't want to just talk on
- 14:43Speaker 5: the phone. And I think it's really admirable that that's
- 14:45Speaker 5: what he's pushing for. And he's like, let's stop all
- 14:48Speaker 5: this texting, like let's get let's get on the phone
- 14:51Speaker 5: and like check vibe.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I think that's a great, great thing too for people
- 14:58Speaker 3: looking for their I do part two.
- 15:00Speaker 4: It's like we're all old, so.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Go back to the way it was like we are
- 15:06Speaker 3: of the generation that did not even have texting when.
- 15:10Speaker 4: We were, you know, in college or even shortly after.
- 15:14Speaker 4: So it's like, get on the phone. So, Kelly, Cheryl
- 15:19Speaker 4: Burke is here.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I want you to bring her up to speed, see
- 15:22Speaker 3: if she's got any thoughts. And let's also see if
- 15:26Speaker 3: we can encourage Cheryl to maybe try to set up
- 15:28Speaker 3: good luck to you guys.
- 15:41Speaker 2: All right, so I'm bringing in my new bestie, Cheryl Burke. So, Cheryl,
- 15:48Speaker 2: I have to tell you that Amy and Heather introduced
- 15:51Speaker 2: me to a really nice guy and I'm calling him
- 15:54Speaker 2: mister Tennis. We've been texting back and forth. We're gonna
- 15:58Speaker 2: be talking on the phone tonight. I'm or may not
- 16:00Speaker 2: have sent him a photo or a video of me
- 16:02Speaker 2: walking my dog Tars.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And yes, I did that yesterday.
- 16:06Speaker 7: Okay.
- 16:07Speaker 2: He's super cute, very smart, super very smart, which is
- 16:11Speaker 2: like really good for me, has kids and he lives
- 16:14Speaker 2: in LA but he also works in New York. So
- 16:16Speaker 2: he's like a good guy, like a guy that I
- 16:19Speaker 2: could actually really.
- 16:22Speaker 6: Like.
- 16:23Speaker 7: Did he send you pictures?
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yes?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Okay, and he's very good looking.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I also know that Amy and Heather may Or may
- 16:32Speaker 2: have may not have introduced him to you.
- 16:35Speaker 7: Wait, I was gonna I was gonna break.
- 16:37Speaker 8: I was gonna break the interesting news as soon as
- 16:40Speaker 8: I heard your perspective. But yes, Amy the executive producer,
- 16:45Speaker 8: she definitely set me up. He was my first and
- 16:48Speaker 8: last date since my divorce.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love that. So how was it?
- 16:54Speaker 7: It was good? It was good for me to go
- 16:56Speaker 7: out on a date.
- 16:57Speaker 8: I wasn't necessarily like, Okay, I tried not to like judge.
- 17:02Speaker 7: I don't try.
- 17:03Speaker 8: I mean, it's hard not to judge a book by
- 17:05Speaker 8: its cover, because we're all human, right. But we went
- 17:07Speaker 8: to a restaurant in Los Angeles, and you know, he
- 17:11Speaker 8: was a gentleman, and.
- 17:14Speaker 7: But there was just no there was just no chemistry
- 17:17Speaker 7: for me, for.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Me, right for you. Yeah, he was cute.
- 17:20Speaker 8: He was a cute, smart guy who seems to be
- 17:24Speaker 8: he's got a good head on his shoulders. From what
- 17:26Speaker 8: I was able to kind of like sess out a
- 17:29Speaker 8: little bit, you know.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Okay, Well that's really good that you know him now
- 17:31Speaker 1: I have to ask you a question.
- 17:33Speaker 2: What do you think of because we don't I don't
- 17:35Speaker 2: want to live in a vacuum and I trust you.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So what do you think of.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Introducing your friends to guys that you went out with
- 17:45Speaker 2: and that you are setting them up with.
- 17:47Speaker 1: What do you think about that?
- 17:48Speaker 2: Like in our situation that do you think it's a
- 17:50Speaker 2: good idea to like, you dated, he went on a
- 17:53Speaker 2: date with them, and now I'm going to go on
- 17:54Speaker 2: a date with them.
- 17:55Speaker 7: Totally?
- 17:56Speaker 1: I do too. I actually did that with a friend
- 17:57Speaker 1: of mine.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I introduced her to a guy that I want to date,
- 18:00Speaker 2: and I was like, he's nice, but he's not my
- 18:01Speaker 2: kind of He's not my cup of tea. And then
- 18:03Speaker 2: I introduced him to her and weird stuff happened, but
- 18:07Speaker 2: had nothing to do with me.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I did not know anything.
- 18:09Speaker 8: Yeah, I think if it was if it were opposite,
- 18:12Speaker 8: like if I really liked him, let's say and he
- 18:14Speaker 8: ghosted me and then you were dating him, that'd be odd.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Right, Well, I would say no, because I also am
- 18:19Speaker 2: a friend, and I would be like, if he's ghosting you,
- 18:21Speaker 2: why would I want to go out with him? And furthermore,
- 18:24Speaker 2: why would I mean we're new friends, but I really
- 18:27Speaker 2: trust you, So why would I like jeopardize our friendship? No?
- 18:30Speaker 7: For sure?
- 18:31Speaker 8: I mean like and he wouldn't be for you, right
- 18:33Speaker 8: because like we're talking about like evolving and wanting to
- 18:36Speaker 8: you know, step it up when it comes to men,
- 18:38Speaker 8: right and a.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Ghost ghosts like ghost ghosts, it's like they think it's
- 18:43Speaker 2: kind of some kind of would have ghosted him?
- 18:48Speaker 1: Are you a ghost her? No?
- 18:49Speaker 7: No, No I'm not.
- 18:50Speaker 8: I mean, first of all, every you know my number,
- 18:52Speaker 8: it hasn't changed, It's been it's been my number forever,
- 18:55Speaker 8: like for as long as I had a number.
- 18:58Speaker 1: So did he wait? Did he respond he.
- 19:00Speaker 7: Was wanting to like go out again for sure?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Okay? And then did you say you just said no?
- 19:05Speaker 8: I just you know, I didn't necessarily give that vibe
- 19:08Speaker 8: like when I I'm pretty like you, I'm at a
- 19:11Speaker 8: strong vibe. So like if I don't want anything but
- 19:14Speaker 8: like a full on platonic relationship like just friends, or
- 19:18Speaker 8: if I'm just not feeling you, but then I feel
- 19:20Speaker 8: like he's feeling me, I make it quite obvious. I
- 19:23Speaker 8: think through my body language.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yes, you're a dancer, and you're.
- 19:26Speaker 8: Like, don't like we're not going to that next level, right,
- 19:30Speaker 8: She's like, lean back, I keep it very like.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Uh, by the way, at one point, you teach me
- 19:39Speaker 2: how to dance, but that's another totally.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Other conversation cast. Okay, totally on the broadcast how to
- 19:44Speaker 1: make how to teach Kelly how to dance? So should
- 19:48Speaker 1: you do a phone call a FaceTime?
- 19:50Speaker 7: Like you should FaceTime? For sure? I wish I would
- 19:53Speaker 7: have done that.
- 19:54Speaker 1: So did you do a phone call or no?
- 19:56Speaker 7: We went straight to the dinner.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Oh you went from text to dinner?
- 19:59Speaker 8: Yeah, because you know Amy. I also trust Amy, and like,
- 20:02Speaker 8: by the way, so do I Okay?
- 20:04Speaker 7: Like is he?
- 20:05Speaker 8: I have really nothing bad to say about him other
- 20:07Speaker 8: than he couldn't order his dinner right away? He was
- 20:11Speaker 8: a little indecisive and that just was a trigger for
- 20:14Speaker 8: me for some reason. Not and that wasn't just the
- 20:16Speaker 8: only thing right wait?
- 20:18Speaker 1: No, seriously, So he couldn't decide what food he wanted.
- 20:20Speaker 7: Or he took a really excited about it, took a while.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Was he like, I don't want the chicken because it has
- 20:25Speaker 2: cheese on it?
- 20:26Speaker 4: Or no?
- 20:27Speaker 7: He actually ended up ordering what I ordered.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He probably was nervous because you're you're pretty hell.
- 20:34Speaker 7: I was nervous.
- 20:35Speaker 8: I think I was there, Like I used to live
- 20:38Speaker 8: down the street from Pace. I think I left my
- 20:40Speaker 8: house like thirty minutes before when I could just roll
- 20:42Speaker 8: down my hill.
- 20:43Speaker 7: But I don't like a man that's indecisive. I just don't.
- 20:46Speaker 8: And maybe he's not and maybe whatever, But like there's
- 20:50Speaker 8: it was more than just that. I mean, you can
- 20:52Speaker 8: just feel it right when you stay with somebody for
- 20:54Speaker 8: a couple of hours.
- 20:55Speaker 7: Dinner is a commitment. And I wish I would have
- 20:57Speaker 7: done FaceTime first.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's what I was wondering too, Like, so
- 21:01Speaker 2: should you do coffee? Should you do a drink?
- 21:04Speaker 8: I think you should FaceTime. Doesn't he live in La Yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 8: and you live.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He was going to come here tonight, but he couldn't
- 21:10Speaker 1: come to see his kids tomorrow. He was just like
- 21:12Speaker 1: going to the date. Yeah, he was just going to
- 21:15Speaker 1: pop on a plane, which I thought was really attractive.
- 21:17Speaker 8: Oh really, Okay, So that's so I was going to
- 21:19Speaker 8: ask that. That was my next question.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I also live in New York City, where people are like,
- 21:23Speaker 1: you're single. That's nice.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It's like how about like, yeah, let's go on a
- 21:27Speaker 2: date or let's get drinks in New York people are
- 21:29Speaker 2: just like so like uninterested in anything.
- 21:33Speaker 7: So so that is a turn on for you. What
- 21:35Speaker 7: if you were someone to be.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Excited, I mean you know and be like hey, I
- 21:39Speaker 2: can't wait to you know, talk to you more, versus
- 21:42Speaker 2: like people that are just like.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Too cool for school and it's like, you know, you
- 21:45Speaker 1: get zero read on people.
- 21:47Speaker 7: Well, there's also a gray area in between what we
- 21:49Speaker 7: just said.
- 21:51Speaker 1: There's also that gray area.
- 21:52Speaker 7: But wait, how long have you guys been talking? I
- 21:54Speaker 7: just want to know a day whoa Okay, so you.
- 21:57Speaker 8: Don't so for me if someone were to say that, though,
- 21:59Speaker 8: it's great and I can imagine like a movie scene
- 22:02Speaker 8: right from like the Notebook and like right, but it's
- 22:05Speaker 8: just not real.
- 22:05Speaker 7: However, it does first it's also amy. It does it
- 22:08Speaker 7: not give you signs of desperation?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Well, no, because I think that it's hard to meet
- 22:16Speaker 2: it's hard to meet women, it's hard to meet men. Uh.
- 22:19Speaker 2: And it's also like the holidays, so it's kind of
- 22:21Speaker 2: a free time, do you know what I mean? It's downtime,
- 22:23Speaker 2: Like okay, you know, I'm doing some stuff today, we're
- 22:26Speaker 2: doing some work today, but like normally, you know, I
- 22:30Speaker 2: mean yesterday I was free the day before that. I want,
- 22:33Speaker 2: you know, I want did one an hour of work,
- 22:35Speaker 2: but you know, I'm kind of like just spending time
- 22:37Speaker 2: with my kids and hanging around and you know, just
- 22:40Speaker 2: walking around, sit to the city and really doing nothing.
- 22:43Speaker 7: Well then ef it.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So I think that people are really like I think
- 22:47Speaker 2: the holiday season, especially this period the twenty sixth through
- 22:51Speaker 2: the first of January, is like peak.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Peak dating time PDT.
- 22:58Speaker 7: Okay, well, so is he come or not?
- 23:01Speaker 1: He couldn't because he literally was going to come tonight
- 23:03Speaker 1: and then he has to go back.
- 23:04Speaker 7: Tomorrow, so you can't do that.
- 23:06Speaker 1: No, No, he wanted to, and then he was like,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I'd have to come back.
- 23:10Speaker 2: He was like, I would come tomorrow, but I'd have
- 23:12Speaker 2: to come back on the next day.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And the only reason that.
- 23:15Speaker 2: That would be something that would be super attractive to
- 23:17Speaker 2: me is because he's known Amy.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Since the fifth grade.
- 23:21Speaker 2: So if if you were like a guy on RIAH,
- 23:24Speaker 2: or if it was a guy that a friend of
- 23:26Speaker 2: mine met that was like, oh my god, I have
- 23:27Speaker 2: to meet her, him coming be totally different. This is
- 23:29Speaker 2: like a long time friend. This is like me introducing
- 23:33Speaker 2: you to a guy that I've known forever.
- 23:35Speaker 8: From Like literally, that's the only reason why I got
- 23:38Speaker 8: I left my house and went on a date was
- 23:40Speaker 8: because of Amy.
- 23:41Speaker 1: But see that's even better.
- 23:43Speaker 2: You know that's he was like the reason that he
- 23:46Speaker 2: got you out to do something that you weren't really
- 23:48Speaker 2: in the mood to do. I love that is long
- 23:50Speaker 2: distance okay for you? I mean long distance isn't exactly
- 23:54Speaker 2: what I'm looking for. So you know, if this works out,
- 23:58Speaker 2: we're gonna have to figure out something.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Who knows, maybe I'll move or whatever.
- 24:01Speaker 2: But I WHOA just saying like, I'm not like, long
- 24:05Speaker 2: distance is not my I mean I was married to
- 24:07Speaker 2: a man that was in New York twice a month
- 24:09Speaker 2: like that.
- 24:10Speaker 1: That does not work for me.
- 24:12Speaker 7: I want do you even want to open the can
- 24:14Speaker 7: of worms?
- 24:14Speaker 6: Then?
- 24:15Speaker 7: If you know that this is not going to work for.
- 24:16Speaker 1: You, well I don't.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I don't have any reason to not date people wherever
- 24:21Speaker 2: they live. I mean, I'm I can my kids are older,
- 24:24Speaker 2: and I can go and do whatever I want wherever
- 24:26Speaker 2: I want.
- 24:27Speaker 8: Okay, I just I'm just I'm asking you all the
- 24:29Speaker 8: questions just so. You never sent a percent sure.
- 24:32Speaker 2: And one of my friends was like, I think you
- 24:36Speaker 2: should move to Paris, you know, because I speak French
- 24:38Speaker 2: and I've lived in Paris for a long time. And
- 24:39Speaker 2: she's like, I think you should move to Paris and
- 24:41Speaker 2: like meet people in Paris.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'm like, by myself, okay, like.
- 24:46Speaker 8: I don't think you need to move anywhere, Like you
- 24:48Speaker 8: can just go to places for a few months, you know.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Right, But everyone's like telling me to like move all
- 24:52Speaker 2: over the place. I'm like, Okay, I'm not sure how
- 24:54Speaker 2: I feel about the moving right now. I just moved
- 24:56Speaker 2: twice in the past, like you know, ten months, so
- 25:00Speaker 2: it's been a log moving, right, So who do you
- 25:02Speaker 2: trust more for setups? Is it coworkers? Is a friends family?
- 25:06Speaker 2: Like Kelly, like, you know what's interesting?
- 25:09Speaker 7: Like for me?
- 25:09Speaker 8: I mean, I I'm just trying to think back like
- 25:13Speaker 8: my last few relationships, and that's been my own setup.
- 25:17Speaker 7: I guess it's been kind.
- 25:18Speaker 8: Of like like with my ex, it was because his
- 25:23Speaker 8: older brother was on Dancing with the Stars and we
- 25:25Speaker 8: met through the show, right, And I would say during
- 25:29Speaker 8: that time frame when I was on the show for
- 25:31Speaker 8: seventeen years, like there, it was a lot of that
- 25:34Speaker 8: type of interaction, right, But as far as like I
- 25:37Speaker 8: guess I would trust like though, my sister's never set
- 25:41Speaker 8: me up with anyone, which is fine, like we've got
- 25:43Speaker 8: a huge age gap nine years, but like she I
- 25:47Speaker 8: trust her, you know, and I would trust friends as well,
- 25:49Speaker 8: But like also I don't necessarily I think my friends
- 25:55Speaker 8: in a way, my two like my close close friends,
- 25:57Speaker 8: I don't think are good as far as setting me
- 25:59Speaker 8: up because they have this vision in their head that
- 26:02Speaker 8: what they believe this guy would should be for me,
- 26:05Speaker 8: and maybe that's not and maybe it's because it's like.
- 26:08Speaker 7: They're too protective, you know what I mean. Yeah, so
- 26:10Speaker 7: it's like I don't know.
- 26:11Speaker 8: I don't I don't want to also play it safe
- 26:14Speaker 8: when I date with somebody either, like there's a fine line, right,
- 26:18Speaker 8: Like I don't know.
- 26:19Speaker 2: So it's interesting because like when I was on Housewives,
- 26:22Speaker 2: it's all women, So there's no like hot guys that
- 26:24Speaker 2: you're dancing the samble with. It's like you know me,
- 26:28Speaker 2: you know, like literally running away from women, like spitting
- 26:30Speaker 2: at me and you know, trying to do all.
- 26:32Speaker 1: These awful things.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And then in real estate, it's funny because everyone's like, like,
- 26:37Speaker 2: you know, Derinda, one of my co stars, she was
- 26:39Speaker 2: like I met my husband, my rich husband, Richard, I
- 26:44Speaker 2: told him an apartment and you know, for me, I
- 26:49Speaker 2: have There's been two guys who I've sold really really
- 26:51Speaker 2: nice apartments too, and I represented them as well, and
- 26:54Speaker 2: I just vound it.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Found it to be such a huge conflict of interest.
- 26:57Speaker 2: And I would never want I'm just saying I would
- 27:00Speaker 2: never I would I will Actually I would never want.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I would never want them, Nor would I want my
- 27:07Speaker 2: industry to think that. I mean they already do think that,
- 27:10Speaker 2: but I would never want people to think that, Like
- 27:12Speaker 2: there I am like showing apartments and flirting and because
- 27:15Speaker 2: I'm not like that, like I'm super professional, what if.
- 27:18Speaker 7: They are aggressively flirting with you? Would you?
- 27:21Speaker 1: And I?
- 27:22Speaker 2: This one guy said to him, and I was like,
- 27:24Speaker 2: after I said, I really appreciate you. And I said,
- 27:26Speaker 2: after we are finished with all the transaction and you're
- 27:30Speaker 2: done and everything, if that's a time that we should
- 27:32Speaker 2: you want to, you know, talk about going out or
- 27:35Speaker 2: going on a date, I'd be happy to do that.
- 27:37Speaker 1: And you know what, he didn't. She was weird.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I was like, wait a minute, So you want me
- 27:44Speaker 2: to sell your home or you want me to help
- 27:45Speaker 2: you buy a home. But then when it's like real time,
- 27:48Speaker 2: you don't.
- 27:49Speaker 7: That's it's almost a blessing in disguise.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:52Speaker 7: I was like, no, so are you talking to anybody else?
- 28:06Speaker 1: So I am talking to one other guy. I met
- 28:09Speaker 1: this amazing guy in New York.
- 28:11Speaker 2: He's a big, big, big he's a big doctor here,
- 28:14Speaker 2: super super nice.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I actually met him playing polo. He's really sweet.
- 28:19Speaker 7: He's a polo player. I bet you he's where I live.
- 28:22Speaker 7: In that area. There's a huge polo community.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I told you I play polo. You have.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I don't play polo. I am learning.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I'm a big rider, and so this summer to get
- 28:34Speaker 2: out of my comfort zone, I decided to learn polo.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I was like, let's do something totally totally out my
- 28:40Speaker 2: cover zone. Very difficult, very very difficult.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It was so fun. It was really you're a.
- 28:44Speaker 7: Crotch afterwards, just everything super sore.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I mean, you're a dancer, so you're used to moving.
- 28:50Speaker 2: But I'm like the way that I ride. As I ride,
- 28:53Speaker 2: like I do not move my upper body and then
- 28:56Speaker 2: I just use my legs. But in polo, you're like
- 28:58Speaker 2: all over the place using your arm.
- 29:00Speaker 7: But did you know how to ride before the polls?
- 29:03Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 29:03Speaker 1: I'm a big I'm a big rider.
- 29:05Speaker 4: Yah.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it is important information.
- 29:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 2: So it was really fun and he's really sweet and
- 29:10Speaker 2: really nice. And then I was I was dating this
- 29:13Speaker 2: other guy who was younger, is forty three, very very nice,
- 29:16Speaker 2: very successful, very sweet.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I met him through a friend of mine and.
- 29:20Speaker 2: He was really great, except for he was just he
- 29:24Speaker 2: was saying things and acting in a way that didn't
- 29:28Speaker 2: make me feel like he was like, I want to
- 29:29Speaker 2: get married. You're my You're my person, and not love
- 29:33Speaker 2: bombing me in the way that like. I mean, he's
- 29:35Speaker 2: known me for a long time and he's just like,
- 29:37Speaker 2: I want to I want a second chapter with someone,
- 29:39Speaker 2: and I wanted to be with someone like you.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And that made me. I know, that sounds like a
- 29:43Speaker 1: red flag.
- 29:44Speaker 7: Did that give you the like creeps a little bit?
- 29:47Speaker 1: No?
- 29:47Speaker 2: No, because he's a really nice person and I've known
- 29:50Speaker 2: him for a long time, and I was very I
- 29:52Speaker 2: was very I was really I was really moved by that.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I thought that was really really sweet.
- 29:57Speaker 2: So we were having these issues where he was super communicative,
- 30:00Speaker 2: but I was trying to be as well, but we
- 30:03Speaker 2: weren't communicating in the same way.
- 30:06Speaker 7: He needed more communication and that's different.
- 30:11Speaker 1: So then I just I kind of got mad at
- 30:13Speaker 1: him because he was didn't talk to me for like
- 30:15Speaker 1: two days, and I.
- 30:16Speaker 7: Just like, I don't have this story.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I came back from LA. I came back from LA
- 30:22Speaker 2: and I was like, I can't I was in New York.
- 30:24Speaker 2: It was a Sunday morning. I was like I woke
- 30:26Speaker 2: up around like eleven because I just come back at
- 30:28Speaker 2: like two o'clock in the morning, and he was like, Oh,
- 30:30Speaker 2: We're gonna have lunch and do all this stuff. And
- 30:32Speaker 2: he didn't call me all day long, and then he
- 30:34Speaker 2: called me the next day and was like, oh, yeah, hey,
- 30:38Speaker 2: I didn't hear from you yesterday. I'm like, you knew
- 30:41Speaker 2: I was flying flying back because I texted I was
- 30:43Speaker 2: flying back, and he just was kind of like doing
- 30:46Speaker 2: his own thing. He was kind of like making me
- 30:48Speaker 2: feel bad for going to LA and working.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And then he.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Was like yeah, He's like we're just not communicating well,
- 30:55Speaker 2: and I'm like, we'ren't communicating at all, Like and I'm
- 30:57Speaker 2: not gonna I'm one thing I'm not gonna do is
- 31:00Speaker 2: I don't chase men.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I just don't like I'm not chasing them. I am
- 31:05Speaker 1: not you know.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Begging men to date me, like if you want to
- 31:08Speaker 2: hang out with me and have a great time, Like,
- 31:10Speaker 2: I am all for it one hundred percent, but I'm
- 31:12Speaker 2: not gonna chase a man.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Wait.
- 31:14Speaker 7: How long did you guys date before this happened?
- 31:17Speaker 1: Two months?
- 31:17Speaker 7: Two and a half months, but you knew each other?
- 31:20Speaker 1: Yeah, really was. He's a very nice person. So I
- 31:22Speaker 1: just just like, you know, too.
- 31:23Speaker 7: Much communication to turn off for you.
- 31:25Speaker 2: No, not too much communication, but like, hey, if you're
- 31:29Speaker 2: getting off a flight, like know that person is like
- 31:32Speaker 2: getting off a flight. They haven't seen you. My god,
- 31:33Speaker 2: they're super excited to see you. Make plans like I
- 31:37Speaker 2: wanted him to. I want to take him to look
- 31:38Speaker 2: for a Christmas tree, just to like do things that
- 31:41Speaker 2: are fun. And you know, he was like sleeping the
- 31:44Speaker 2: whole day, so I just was like, and that's fine.
- 31:47Speaker 2: But you could just say like, oh my god, you
- 31:49Speaker 2: could be like the night before ba, I'm super tired.
- 31:52Speaker 2: I think I might take tomorrow off and just you know,
- 31:54Speaker 2: chill out and relax. That's totally fine.
- 31:56Speaker 7: What are your non negotiables?
- 31:59Speaker 1: Not commune kating?
- 32:01Speaker 7: Well, like not like the ghosting, Like yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 2: When a guy like doesn't talk to you for a day,
- 32:05Speaker 2: or you text and you're like hey, and they don't
- 32:07Speaker 2: text you back.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Like that doesn't work for me.
- 32:11Speaker 2: When guys don't make plans like they are not like
- 32:14Speaker 2: let's do something. Hey, what are you doing on a Tuesday?
- 32:16Speaker 2: Like it doesn't have to be every day, but like
- 32:18Speaker 2: you should have like one or two date nights a
- 32:20Speaker 2: week when you're dating people then uh, you know, no
- 32:26Speaker 2: drug abuse, no, you know, jail time, like you.
- 32:31Speaker 8: Know, no current not currently in jail. Like you wouldn't
- 32:34Speaker 8: date a menendous brother or anything.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I would.
- 32:39Speaker 7: They're hot, don't kidding, I know how to pick them.
- 32:44Speaker 2: You want just you know, just things that are just
- 32:46Speaker 2: you know, I'm I'm you know, I just just things
- 32:48Speaker 2: that are not out of the ordinary.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And you know, like my ex, you know, I want
- 32:53Speaker 1: someone that has like.
- 32:55Speaker 2: A really good job, really good parent, just you know,
- 32:58Speaker 2: just overall like just good person. You don't have to
- 33:02Speaker 2: be a gazillionaire, but just like an honest, real person.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Yeah. And I don't want.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Anyone that talks about badly about their ex wives, like
- 33:09Speaker 2: because everybody means you're going to talk badly about me.
- 33:11Speaker 8: Or exes in general, especially when you're first dating, Like,
- 33:14Speaker 8: don't bring up the exes, thank you.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Just leave the exes alone, leave the exes where they
- 33:19Speaker 1: are for their exes. And I don't need to be
- 33:21Speaker 1: part of the excess narrative, Like I don't. I'm not.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Like, just because you're dating me doesn't mean that we
- 33:26Speaker 2: have to make collective decisions on everybody else.
- 33:29Speaker 8: Like you're not going to tell mister Tennis that I dated,
- 33:31Speaker 8: that we went on a date, right, Yeah, you are,
- 33:34Speaker 8: or you know.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Because you're glorious and it makes me look good?
- 33:36Speaker 7: Wait you are?
- 33:37Speaker 1: Yeah, of course?
- 33:39Speaker 7: Or have you No?
- 33:40Speaker 1: No, I'm going to tonight.
- 33:43Speaker 7: That's weird.
- 33:44Speaker 1: It's my friend Cheryl.
- 33:45Speaker 7: Do you think that's going to be a turnoff for him?
- 33:47Speaker 1: No, I think he's gonna love it. I think his
- 33:48Speaker 1: ego is going to.
- 33:49Speaker 8: Be I about physical features before quickly before we move
- 33:52Speaker 8: on to platonic relationships.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Uh, physical features, you know it's nice to have. I
- 33:58Speaker 2: mean I really don't have a type.
- 34:00Speaker 8: Uh uh, tall, dark and handsome. You're like, okay, oh
- 34:05Speaker 8: I married not tall and not as dark, but handsome.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Uh yeah, my ex husband had great, curly hair, wearing
- 34:15Speaker 2: little glasses.
- 34:16Speaker 7: Does he have to be taller than you? No, he doesn't.
- 34:19Speaker 2: You don't care, Okay, No, I mean I dated one
- 34:21Speaker 2: guy that was six two, dated another guy that was
- 34:23Speaker 2: six one. I'm five to ten. I dated my ex
- 34:26Speaker 2: husband was five nine. You know, I don't really I
- 34:29Speaker 2: don't really care about the height. I just care about
- 34:31Speaker 2: the person that's nice.
- 34:34Speaker 7: I mean it would help though, right, like if he
- 34:35Speaker 7: was hot.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I mean not necessarily, because, like I mean, I've dated
- 34:40Speaker 2: some really hot guys that were really.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Not good guys.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I've dated some hot guys like I dated this one guy.
- 34:48Speaker 2: His name is Alejandro, and he was probably the nicest
- 34:50Speaker 2: hum I've ever met my entire life. No, he actually
- 34:55Speaker 2: took photos of me that were so beautiful I had
- 34:56Speaker 2: to put them on my Instagram.
- 34:57Speaker 7: They were certain tango dancer.
- 35:02Speaker 2: What if you taught me how to dance and then
- 35:04Speaker 2: you introduce me to this really hot dancing coach And
- 35:07Speaker 2: then I was.
- 35:08Speaker 8: Like, you definitely not. You're not dating a dancer.
- 35:13Speaker 1: A lot of people they dancers. J Lo Madonna.
- 35:17Speaker 7: Now look at them. Now, dancers are no good.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Let me see.
- 35:23Speaker 7: This is the thing with dancers.
- 35:24Speaker 8: You have to be super secure with yourself because this
- 35:27Speaker 8: is what they do for a living, is dry hump
- 35:28Speaker 8: other people. So like, wow, people like j Lo right,
- 35:32Speaker 8: Like that's how they do. So, like you can't be
- 35:34Speaker 8: on their job. You gotta like completely surrender and hope
- 35:38Speaker 8: and pray they don't cheat on you.
- 35:40Speaker 2: No, no, I could never watch another man dance with
- 35:43Speaker 2: woman like provocatively.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I would literally have an.
- 35:45Speaker 8: Answer to sleep with maybe once or twice maybe, but
- 35:49Speaker 8: that's about it. You definitely need to have sex with
- 35:53Speaker 8: the dancer once at least one in your lifetime.
- 35:55Speaker 7: Have you had one?
- 35:56Speaker 1: No? Are they gonna like throw my legs?
- 35:58Speaker 8: I mean it's different strokes for diferent folks. Don't know, right,
- 36:01Speaker 8: Different dancers like different things. But like they're great in bed. Wow,
- 36:07Speaker 8: if they're a good dancer, if they're an actual like
- 36:09Speaker 8: if their occupation is dancer, they're most likely a great lover.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I love how like Cheryl is like super composed and
- 36:17Speaker 2: I am, like my dress is read and my face
- 36:20Speaker 2: is like orange.
- 36:20Speaker 8: So maybe before you go out with mister Tennis, you
- 36:22Speaker 8: should try and just have sex with a dancer really quick,
- 36:25Speaker 8: just in case you guys get married. Okay, let's talk
- 36:29Speaker 8: about platonic relationships and setups.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Do you think that everyone has to know hold on
- 36:35Speaker 2: till before you ask me this question. Everybody has to
- 36:37Speaker 2: know this is like, this is real, This is like
- 36:40Speaker 2: you and I our friendship has evolved from this podcast.
- 36:44Speaker 2: My second chance is it has like we knew, like
- 36:47Speaker 2: a new friendship now all fun friend who I can
- 36:51Speaker 2: like talk honestly with, and I love.
- 36:52Speaker 8: That we've never been in the same room together. We're
- 36:56Speaker 8: going to Yeah, well no, and I feel super comfortable
- 36:58Speaker 8: with you.
- 36:59Speaker 7: So this is kind of Oh, I guess this falls
- 37:01Speaker 7: under the coworker category. I guess, right, yeah, but still.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Co worker friend.
- 37:07Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, But what do you think about actual like
- 37:10Speaker 8: you know, as maybe another divorced woman or just like
- 37:14Speaker 8: single women in general, and friends like setting you up
- 37:19Speaker 8: on platonic type of setups and relationships like that.
- 37:22Speaker 2: So I have like two schools of thought about that.
- 37:26Speaker 2: I met this really really cool woman today. Her name
- 37:30Speaker 2: is Louise. She's like super smart, sassy, fun, you know,
- 37:34Speaker 2: amazing woman, and I trust her. I don't know her,
- 37:37Speaker 2: but I get a really good vibe from her. I
- 37:39Speaker 2: really like her energy and I I trust her. And
- 37:44Speaker 2: then I've met a lot of single women who I
- 37:47Speaker 2: just don't trust. I feel like they're using me for
- 37:50Speaker 2: chum and that they're like, oh, just bring Kelly around
- 37:54Speaker 2: because she'll talk to the guys or the guys we'll
- 37:56Speaker 2: talk to her and then we'll kind of just like
- 37:58Speaker 2: take the guys from her. Or that's what happened many
- 38:02Speaker 2: times that they just like they.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Just use me. They're like, oh, yeah, Kelly's our friend.
- 38:06Speaker 1: That happened to me.
- 38:07Speaker 2: This one girl that we were friends and she basically
- 38:10Speaker 2: was just using me to meet guys.
- 38:12Speaker 7: Wait what so wait wait how are you?
- 38:14Speaker 8: And so I don't know because we haven't hung out
- 38:16Speaker 8: like that, So you are not shy right like you will,
- 38:20Speaker 8: but like they use you like it's one thing to
- 38:23Speaker 8: like use somebody like to.
- 38:24Speaker 7: Get into the clubs. Like what I experience, I'm.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Not shy this way, but I'm shy.
- 38:30Speaker 7: Like like vulnerable way.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Right one on one like getting to know me.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Like I'm very shy like that, but I'm not shy
- 38:36Speaker 2: with like opening myself up and I'm not you know,
- 38:41Speaker 2: I'm not shy that way.
- 38:42Speaker 7: Oh interesting, I'm the opposite.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I'll be like dragging.
- 38:45Speaker 7: I'll be like, where's the.
- 38:47Speaker 8: Darkest corner and the most private area, That's where.
- 38:50Speaker 7: I want to be.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I'm like bright lights.
- 38:54Speaker 7: Oh hell no.
- 38:56Speaker 5: The day.
- 38:57Speaker 8: If you leave it up to me to make reservation,
- 38:59Speaker 8: I'm like dark corner and away from as many people
- 39:04Speaker 8: as possible.
- 39:14Speaker 2: You know, I'm just very skeptical about meeting other single
- 39:18Speaker 2: women because.
- 39:19Speaker 7: You don't trust them.
- 39:20Speaker 1: I don't trust them, and I feel like they use
- 39:22Speaker 1: me as chump and they do.
- 39:23Speaker 8: What's interesting when I heard you just say you met
- 39:25Speaker 8: someone just the other day and you trust How do
- 39:27Speaker 8: you trust somebody so quickly?
- 39:29Speaker 1: Because I can.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Tell, Like, for example, like when we're when we were
- 39:32Speaker 2: filming Ultimate Girls Trip and Saint Bart's after we finished filming,
- 39:38Speaker 2: the women are like, oh, here, take Kelly to the
- 39:40Speaker 2: bar so she can introduce us to people, Like okay, Like,
- 39:44Speaker 2: let me just take you to the bar and choose
- 39:46Speaker 2: your people.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I don't know them, Like why am I? Uh So?
- 39:49Speaker 1: It just you know, it's just it's always kind of
- 39:51Speaker 1: like that.
- 39:52Speaker 8: How important is it to have friendships that, like solid
- 39:55Speaker 8: ones that you've known for a few years, that really
- 39:59Speaker 8: know you and keep you grounded during this whole like
- 40:02Speaker 8: dating process.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Well, I think it's super important to have solid friendships.
- 40:05Speaker 2: And you know, I have my like group chats and
- 40:07Speaker 2: my friends. I'm like Hi, guys, Like hell, and we're
- 40:09Speaker 2: going to see each other. What's happening? And you know
- 40:11Speaker 2: that most of them are married, so it's hard for
- 40:13Speaker 2: me to like make time with them, which I totally understand.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Uh so I end up spending a lot of time with.
- 40:19Speaker 1: My you know, my gay gay friends, and which is
- 40:22Speaker 1: great too with my kids obviously.
- 40:23Speaker 7: Is it hard to have married friends? Like does it?
- 40:26Speaker 8: Does it make you want to rush the process? Like
- 40:29Speaker 8: meaning like feeling the need to be in a relationship.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Let's say, well, you know, it's so weird. That's a
- 40:35Speaker 1: good question. Is that when.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I started dating my ex boyfriend, he people were like, oh,
- 40:42Speaker 2: you have a boyfriend.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Oh oh you're engaged, Okay, bring him, you know, bring him.
- 40:46Speaker 1: We want to meet him, we want to do all
- 40:47Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 40:47Speaker 2: And all of a sudden he became like, you know, people,
- 40:50Speaker 2: I was invited to more things because we were together.
- 40:53Speaker 2: And he and he said the same thing, like he
- 40:55Speaker 2: was invited to a lot more things because we were together.
- 40:58Speaker 7: Right, like as couples, like a couple as a.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Couple, right, yeah, And I feel like, I mean, I
- 41:04Speaker 2: don't know if this is.
- 41:05Speaker 1: True or not. This is just how I feel. I
- 41:07Speaker 1: feel like.
- 41:10Speaker 2: A lot of people just don't want me to be
- 41:13Speaker 2: the extra one person at the table.
- 41:17Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I know that feeling.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Because they're like, oh, it's Kelly's are they feel sorry?
- 41:22Speaker 8: They don't understand how like for some like, look, I
- 41:26Speaker 8: totally understand what you're saying.
- 41:28Speaker 7: I hear you.
- 41:28Speaker 8: It's like they feel more they feel sorry. They're worried
- 41:31Speaker 8: about me, but like they don't understand because they've never
- 41:34Speaker 8: gone through it themselves. As far as like being so
- 41:36Speaker 8: comfortable being alone that it's almost like I don't need
- 41:39Speaker 8: to worry about who I'm with or their mood or
- 41:43Speaker 8: to get them to like come to a friend's dinner
- 41:46Speaker 8: that's not their friends, and then like having them be
- 41:48Speaker 8: so like not wanting to be there and me trying
- 41:51Speaker 8: to like.
- 41:52Speaker 7: Play both sides.
- 41:53Speaker 8: It's just there's a lot more peace for me when
- 41:55Speaker 8: I go out, actually because I just worry about myself.
- 41:58Speaker 8: But there is I do definitely, like when we talked
- 42:02Speaker 8: about this this last episode about how I can count
- 42:04Speaker 8: on one hand my friends and just it just happens
- 42:08Speaker 8: to be that most of them are divorced. But we
- 42:11Speaker 8: were friends before, Like we were friends when you know,
- 42:14Speaker 8: like one of them, was my maid of honor when
- 42:16Speaker 8: she was also married for many years and you know,
- 42:19Speaker 8: so I knew her when I was married, also met
- 42:21Speaker 8: her when I was single and now single again. But
- 42:24Speaker 8: like I, it is interesting because your friends change when
- 42:28Speaker 8: you're single, especially as you get older, and it is
- 42:31Speaker 8: Do you believe it's harder to meet people and meet
- 42:35Speaker 8: other potential friends as you get older?
- 42:38Speaker 2: I mean, I just found it strange that, like, my
- 42:41Speaker 2: friends didn't really introduce I mean, two of my friends
- 42:44Speaker 2: introduced me to some really nice people, but most of
- 42:46Speaker 2: my friends, I mean, I've lived in New York, raised
- 42:48Speaker 2: my kids here, you know, been here since forever, and
- 42:51Speaker 2: they just didn't never introduce me to people.
- 42:53Speaker 1: And I don't know if they just wanted me to
- 42:55Speaker 1: be single.
- 42:57Speaker 7: Why would they want you to be? Like why would I?
- 42:59Speaker 2: Honestly, maybe you're thinking this, this is crazy, but I
- 43:02Speaker 2: feel like they're like, oh, she's pretty, so she should
- 43:07Speaker 2: just be happy with you know.
- 43:09Speaker 1: She just should just gets someone based on that, I
- 43:10Speaker 1: don't need to help her.
- 43:11Speaker 2: And meanwhile, on the opposite, if I meet someone, I'm like,
- 43:13Speaker 2: oh my god, I met someone that's so great, Oh
- 43:14Speaker 2: my god, I want to introduce you to them, oh
- 43:16Speaker 2: my gosh, I you know, like I'm always and I
- 43:19Speaker 2: mean I said this today, like I'm typically the one
- 43:22Speaker 2: that's like always taking care of people and helping them
- 43:25Speaker 2: and giving them like help or if like, oh my god,
- 43:28Speaker 2: I found this job for you, it'd be great.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I got this for you.
- 43:31Speaker 7: I don't feel like that's reciprocated by your not at all.
- 43:34Speaker 1: No, no, no, not at all, like like not at all.
- 43:36Speaker 8: Listen, I have to say, and I've said this to
- 43:38Speaker 8: you before, like my sobriety and kind of just being
- 43:42Speaker 8: a lot more present, I guess, and just awake in
- 43:44Speaker 8: general and not numbing through substances has really this is
- 43:49Speaker 8: why I can count on one hand my friends and
- 43:51Speaker 8: even that, like I have to reassess every year, like
- 43:55Speaker 8: you know, and naturally it's not.
- 43:56Speaker 7: Like, oh okay, you didn't pass this test, like acting you.
- 44:00Speaker 8: Like weeding you out, but you know you are you
- 44:03Speaker 8: are who you hang out with two you know, and
- 44:06Speaker 8: it's like you're such a good person and I can't
- 44:10Speaker 8: wait for our friendship to develop more because I feel
- 44:13Speaker 8: the same like and I definitely don't feel like it's
- 44:18Speaker 8: shocking to me to hear people use you to meet
- 44:20Speaker 8: like I have never heard of such a thing in
- 44:22Speaker 8: my life.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, all the time, or they so women
- 44:26Speaker 2: use me to meet other men and then men sit
- 44:29Speaker 2: when they meet me up they like me. They'll be like, oh,
- 44:34Speaker 2: like it's a game, and they'll be like, oh, you know,
- 44:36Speaker 2: I just don't know if like I can handle like
- 44:39Speaker 2: everything you do. I'm like, what that I work in
- 44:42Speaker 2: real estate and that I have a job, and that
- 44:47Speaker 2: I'm providing for my children?
- 44:49Speaker 1: What am I supposed to do? Not provide for my children?
- 44:51Speaker 1: And yeah, am I supposed to be?
- 44:55Speaker 2: It seems to me that like when I'm this is
- 44:57Speaker 2: like what I'm kind of rounding up after like watch
- 45:00Speaker 2: a lot of Christmas movies. If you're the victim, everyone
- 45:03Speaker 2: wants to help you, but when you're trying the one
- 45:05Speaker 2: that tries to be like I can handle things, I
- 45:07Speaker 2: can organize things, I can try to make things like
- 45:10Speaker 2: you know, something nothing into something. Then people are just like,
- 45:14Speaker 2: oh yeah, whatever, They'll just you know, you're just the
- 45:17Speaker 2: giving tree.
- 45:17Speaker 7: But not all people though, No, I know I'm not.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I'm just generalizing, but I feel like it's like I
- 45:22Speaker 2: feel like I'm the giving tree and I'm like, oh, okay,
- 45:24Speaker 2: here's a little stump.
- 45:25Speaker 7: Now now, maybe stop giving so much.
- 45:28Speaker 2: But you know, meeting you and talking with you and
- 45:30Speaker 2: being on this podcast has changed has changed me so much.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Like I'm just I'm more I'm less forgiving and I'm
- 45:40Speaker 2: more like kind to myself.
- 45:44Speaker 7: Do you ever go out? Like do you? Okay?
- 45:46Speaker 8: Do you have different tiers of friendships? Like I definitely
- 45:49Speaker 8: do so. Like I have my my friends who I
- 45:52Speaker 8: can like always count on that I know will drop
- 45:55Speaker 8: everything that they're doing if I need them, even if
- 45:58Speaker 8: I live a few hours away from them. Right then
- 46:00Speaker 8: I've got the second tier, which is like friends that
- 46:02Speaker 8: maybe when I'm in LA will go out or whatever,
- 46:05Speaker 8: but like they don't know everything about me. And then
- 46:07Speaker 8: you've got the third tier, which is like residue.
- 46:10Speaker 7: From my last job.
- 46:12Speaker 8: Right like literally, and it's like we were friends because
- 46:15Speaker 8: of work and we just happen to still stay in
- 46:19Speaker 8: touch type thing. And when we see each other, hey,
- 46:22Speaker 8: you know, like we'll say hi. We're like almost kind
- 46:25Speaker 8: of weird acquaintances.
- 46:27Speaker 1: In a way, you know what I mean, because you
- 46:29Speaker 1: don't see each other.
- 46:30Speaker 8: Yeah, because we don't make the effort. It's not because
- 46:32Speaker 8: we don't see each other it's because like there's no
- 46:34Speaker 8: effort being made right, meaning like it doesn't matter, like
- 46:37Speaker 8: we could you just need to pick up the phone,
- 46:40Speaker 8: Like it just matters.
- 46:41Speaker 7: It's about who wants to put in.
- 46:42Speaker 8: It's just as much work as a real like intimate
- 46:45Speaker 8: relationship friendship, I think, right.
- 46:47Speaker 2: And I'm a texter and so I'll like send text
- 46:49Speaker 2: my friends and just like thinking of you, how's your day,
- 46:52Speaker 2: how's my girl beauty?
- 46:53Speaker 1: Like I just am like that's what I do. Like
- 46:55Speaker 1: I'm a text story. So I'm checking with people. People
- 46:59Speaker 1: never check in.
- 47:00Speaker 7: Well, and some people aren't like and I have to say,
- 47:02Speaker 7: I suck at that.
- 47:03Speaker 1: They're just not like how are you? They're like you.
- 47:07Speaker 7: Respond to that. I'll respond to that. But I don't
- 47:08Speaker 7: like long monologue.
- 47:09Speaker 8: Don't like even though I write monologue texts, but like
- 47:13Speaker 8: I can't like when my mom goes at.
- 47:15Speaker 7: Me sometimes, which I'm home right now.
- 47:17Speaker 8: So these long text messages are long, like to the
- 47:20Speaker 8: point where you have to hit the arrow and it
- 47:22Speaker 8: goes to.
- 47:23Speaker 1: The next stage like long, but like a novella.
- 47:27Speaker 8: Yeah, But like there's also friends that I have that
- 47:29Speaker 8: I don't need to talk to literally for months, and
- 47:32Speaker 8: we're good.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Right, and you just pick it up.
- 47:35Speaker 7: Yeah, and we don't. We don't give each other.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I love you.
- 47:38Speaker 2: I love you so much to help you have the best,
- 47:40Speaker 2: best best time with your family. You are amazing and
- 47:43Speaker 2: I cannot wait to tell you more about mister Tennis.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Keep your keep it, keep your you know, keep your
- 47:48Speaker 1: eyes open.
- 47:49Speaker 7: I can't wait till you tell mister Tennis about me.
- 47:52Speaker 1: He's gonna be like, she's hot, Like.
- 47:54Speaker 7: You might want to think twice about that, though, I
- 47:56Speaker 7: don't know.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I like, I see, I like the kind of guy
- 47:59Speaker 2: that you're talking about, Like, I actually like that. I
- 48:01Speaker 2: think it's like charming and yeah, like it's just I
- 48:04Speaker 2: like someone that like, really like is excited.
- 48:07Speaker 7: You might just have to order for him though. Just
- 48:11Speaker 7: take it upon yourself.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Don't say solid fish done. Yeah, stay done, thank you,
- 48:19Speaker 2: thank you, thank you. I'm going to keep you updated
- 48:21Speaker 2: on my phone.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Call and my dates. And we need to do stuff
- 48:26Speaker 1: like fun stuff.
