- 1:05Speaker 1: their calling, and step boldly into the life they were
- 1:08Speaker 1: designed to live. And I'm telling you we live in
- 1:12Speaker 1: self doubt so often in Trolan, I just am so
- 1:17Speaker 1: grateful you are here so we can build confidence and
- 1:20Speaker 1: help those out there to move into their purpose. So
- 1:24Speaker 1: thank you for being here.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Thank you Marcy for having me. I'm so honored, and
- 1:28Speaker 2: congratulations on your show.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I'm so excited to transition into the podcast world. It's
- 1:35Speaker 1: a great place to be and we get to really
- 1:40Speaker 1: expand on the conversation. When you have a TV show,
- 1:43Speaker 1: it's so short lived. You only get seven to eight
- 1:46Speaker 1: minutes with someone. So I'm really grateful to have this
- 1:49Speaker 1: time with you. And let's talk about that that confidence
- 1:55Speaker 1: where you have built the confidence and that's been rooted
- 2:00Speaker 1: in God. Right, So how did your faith begin and
- 2:05Speaker 1: how did you rewrite the way that you saw yourself?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Oh, that is a great question.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So my faith, the journey began when I was young
- 2:15Speaker 2: because I was surrounded by a lot of family members
- 2:18Speaker 2: who were also with my faith, a Christian faith. But
- 2:22Speaker 2: I feel like as I went through my journey, because
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm just gonna connect this to passion pursuits, Like I
- 2:29Speaker 2: feel like when I was younger, I've always been creative
- 2:33Speaker 2: with acting, with just being a creative little girl and
- 2:37Speaker 2: wanting to pursue things that made me want to dream.
- 2:41Speaker 2: So when I was younger living in the San Francisco
- 2:44Speaker 2: Bay Area, I'm in southern California. Now, I always felt
- 2:48Speaker 2: like I was a dreamer, and with that dream came,
- 2:55Speaker 2: I felt like God was connecting with me in some
- 2:58Speaker 2: way through my dreams, like there was something he wanted
- 3:01Speaker 2: me to do with my dreams. And of course, you know,
- 3:05Speaker 2: we have dreams as little girls, as women, and sometimes
- 3:09Speaker 2: we think it's that one thing. So for me, as
- 3:13Speaker 2: my creativity evolved, it turned into a love for acting.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So I'm thinking, Okay, this is it, this is the ultimate.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I need to move to Tintiltown aka Hollywood and pursue
- 3:25Speaker 2: this acting career. Because I was like, okay, God, you
- 3:27Speaker 2: give me this gift, these passions.
- 3:30Speaker 3: And just to.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Take you back a little bit, because I had just
- 3:35Speaker 2: graduated from college with an undergrad in mass communications and
- 3:40Speaker 2: I told my mom that I wanted to move to
- 3:42Speaker 2: la to be an actress, and she was not for
- 3:45Speaker 2: it at all.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I was still living in a.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Living in the house, and all of a sudden, It's like, well,
- 3:50Speaker 2: I want to move to Hollywood to be an actress,
- 3:53Speaker 2: and it's such a far affetched dream, you know.
- 3:56Speaker 3: So I felt I.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Really felt like God wanted me to move to Hollywood
- 4:00Speaker 2: to pursue an acting career.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean?
- 4:03Speaker 2: And I remember even then, I wanted to make an
- 4:05Speaker 2: impact in Hollywood. It wasn't just for self. I wanted
- 4:09Speaker 2: to make a difference in some way, and I wasn't
- 4:11Speaker 2: sure how to do that quite yet. Yeah, So I
- 4:14Speaker 2: was like, okay, God, if you really want me to
- 4:16Speaker 2: move to La Because it was.
- 4:18Speaker 3: A strong.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Rash and desire and unction from God. I felt that
- 4:24Speaker 2: he wanted me to move. So I was like, okay, Lord,
- 4:27Speaker 2: if you really want me to move here, then please
- 4:29Speaker 2: open up these four things. And it's four, I believe.
- 4:33Speaker 2: One was I needed a job. Number two I needed
- 4:38Speaker 2: an acting agent. Number three I needed a place to stay.
- 4:41Speaker 2: It was five things. Actually, Number four I wanted a
- 4:43Speaker 2: good multicultural church. And then number five was to change
- 4:49Speaker 2: my mother's heart, so literally, because La and Oakland, which
- 4:57Speaker 2: is where I'm from, is about five hours half hours away.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So and one day I drove from Oakland to LA
- 5:05Speaker 2: because I had a job interview and I had an
- 5:06Speaker 2: interview with an agent and I got them both on
- 5:09Speaker 2: the spot, drove back home. Meanwhile, my pastor at the
- 5:14Speaker 2: time worked it out where I can stay at a
- 5:17Speaker 2: Korean dormitory, a missionary dorm for free until I got
- 5:22Speaker 2: on my feet. So that was the third thing. The
- 5:25Speaker 2: fourth thing was someone had recommended a multicultural church in
- 5:30Speaker 2: LA which was filled with other entertainment hopefuls, So I
- 5:35Speaker 2: had that connection. And then as time was going on,
- 5:38Speaker 2: all the pieces were just adding up. My mom just
- 5:41Speaker 2: started being proud of me. Like when she was speaking
- 5:44Speaker 2: to people on the phone, it was with pride, like, oh, yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 2: my daughter's moving to LA to be an actress, you
- 5:48Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Her tone had changed.
- 5:51Speaker 2: So at my going away party, I asked her, you
- 5:55Speaker 2: know what made you change the way you viewed me
- 5:58Speaker 2: going to LA, and said God gave her a vision
- 6:02Speaker 2: that I was in LA and there was angels surrounding me,
- 6:05Speaker 2: and she knew that that was a sign that I
- 6:07Speaker 2: was supposed to be there. So literally those five things
- 6:10Speaker 2: God came through for me on and I knew it was,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you know, the right move for me to move. So
- 6:17Speaker 2: I felt like, to your original question, like with me
- 6:21Speaker 2: pursuing that passion, it was a God led passion because
- 6:23Speaker 2: I feel like when we pursue our God led passions,
- 6:26Speaker 2: it opens the door to purpose. And when I say
- 6:28Speaker 2: open the door to purpose, I mean it's not just
- 6:31Speaker 2: for ourselves. It's for us to use our gifts, our
- 6:34Speaker 2: dreams to help someone else as well. And I felt
- 6:38Speaker 2: like as he opened up those doors, he was opening
- 6:40Speaker 2: up the opportunity in the door for me to help
- 6:42Speaker 2: other people in the process, right right, yeah, And are
- 6:46Speaker 2: you helping people?
- 6:48Speaker 3: Well?
- 6:48Speaker 2: It was through a series of events, I felt like.
- 6:52Speaker 2: So as I was going along this journey, you know,
- 6:56Speaker 2: of the acting, I always wanted to my saying was
- 7:00Speaker 2: I wanted to make an impact in the world with
- 7:03Speaker 2: this acting in some way. So as I was pursuing
- 7:06Speaker 2: this acting career, I realized that the acting itself wasn't
- 7:13Speaker 2: the end. It was a means to get me somewhere else.
- 7:17Speaker 2: So throughout that process of a yeah yeah. So throughout
- 7:22Speaker 2: that process of me pursuing this and trying to make
- 7:25Speaker 2: an impact, I was able to start a local talk
- 7:29Speaker 2: show called Life Impact because on that show I wanted
- 7:33Speaker 2: to help other people struggling through whatever area they were in.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Like I had different guests on, like Sherry Shepherd, who
- 7:39Speaker 2: was a dear friend at the time, like an Olympian,
- 7:43Speaker 2: But it was all about what they went through through
- 7:45Speaker 2: their in their lives and how them getting through that
- 7:49Speaker 2: was able to help in some way. So I was
- 7:51Speaker 2: using that as a platform to be able to use
- 7:54Speaker 2: these high profile people and use their stories to encourage
- 7:59Speaker 2: and inspire other people in their journey. Right, So there
- 8:03Speaker 2: was there was There was always like little things like
- 8:05Speaker 2: that where I saw that God was seeing showing me
- 8:08Speaker 2: how I was helping other people in the process. And eventually,
- 8:12Speaker 2: several years later, you know, I was able to build
- 8:14Speaker 2: this platform, Tinsiltown Mom, where I'm helping moms to pursue
- 8:19Speaker 2: their godlet passions so they can be used to help
- 8:22Speaker 2: other people in the process. So I feel like it
- 8:24Speaker 2: all kind of evolved into this platform where I'm helping,
- 8:28Speaker 2: you know, multiple people in a main way.
- 8:32Speaker 1: We one hundred percent I feel Listen, I've gone through
- 8:36Speaker 1: a lot in my life, and when I got in
- 8:39Speaker 1: front of the camera, it was a dream that I'd
- 8:43Speaker 1: always had, but that changed throughout my life. I lost
- 8:47Speaker 1: self confidence and such. But something happened in my forties
- 8:51Speaker 1: and I actually somehow found the strength to start pursuing
- 8:58Speaker 1: that dream. And then all these doors started opening up.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Right people were coming into my life that could help me.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I was getting agents right away. I was starting to
- 9:08Speaker 1: you know, get auditions and find schooling that I could
- 9:11Speaker 1: be a part of. So it was really interesting. I
- 9:16Speaker 1: feel that when you are doing what you are called
- 9:19Speaker 1: to do, that the universe conspires with you. God conspires
- 9:25Speaker 1: with you, and these doors open up easily for you.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And so I always like to say, if you're trying
- 9:33Speaker 1: to pursue something and you feel like you are going
- 9:38Speaker 1: up a mountain and you are struggling the whole way
- 9:41Speaker 1: up that mountain, you might be going up the wrong mountain,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and you know God has another place for you. So
- 9:50Speaker 1: I think that you prayed to God and those things happened.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And I truly believe in that that when things happen
- 10:00Speaker 1: with such ease, that God is there to answer that
- 10:03Speaker 1: and to create these possibilities for you when it is
- 10:07Speaker 1: your purpose.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yes, and I feel like it doesn't happen in the
- 10:11Speaker 2: way that we expect it to happen, never doubt, you know,
- 10:14Speaker 2: we have these expectations, Oh, I want to do this,
- 10:17Speaker 2: I wanted to line up like XYZ. It doesn't line
- 10:20Speaker 2: up that way. But we have to be open to
- 10:23Speaker 2: how that's it's going to happen. Because a lot of
- 10:25Speaker 2: times we get into these dry seasons where it's like, Okay,
- 10:28Speaker 2: I'm not doing what I want to do, like I
- 10:30Speaker 2: call stuck. But sometimes there's more value if we allow
- 10:35Speaker 2: God to use us. There's more value in that season
- 10:38Speaker 2: of being stuck in what we need to learn and
- 10:40Speaker 2: get out of it, or how we're able to help
- 10:43Speaker 2: someone else during that season than that very thing that
- 10:46Speaker 2: we're pursuing.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, when you say that, I look at it as
- 10:51Speaker 1: a pause. Now yeah, yeah, Yeah, you had this dream
- 11:00Speaker 1: were acting, You had created this platform. But then for
- 11:04Speaker 1: you that fire, that fire was gone and you wanted
- 11:08Speaker 1: to make a change, and you wanted to make a
- 11:10Speaker 1: pivot and so frightening right to make a change and
- 11:14Speaker 1: why is this happening?
- 11:15Speaker 3: Right?
- 11:15Speaker 1: And what should I do? So for you, what was
- 11:21Speaker 1: that change? What was that pivot? And what was the calling.
- 11:24Speaker 3: That you had?
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yes, so I felt like the season of acting had
- 11:28Speaker 2: dried up and I no longer had a passion for
- 11:30Speaker 2: it like I once had. And part of the reason
- 11:34Speaker 2: was the things that I was asked to participate in
- 11:36Speaker 2: I didn't really connect with. And I felt like I
- 11:40Speaker 2: wanted to write about things that I would want to
- 11:45Speaker 2: be in. So, you know, after getting so many asks
- 11:48Speaker 2: to you know, be in a certain project or audition
- 11:51Speaker 2: for certain things that your values don't align with. You know, eventually,
- 11:55Speaker 2: you know that can wear on you. So I felt
- 11:57Speaker 2: like that, and then the struggle with acting, I kind
- 11:59Speaker 2: of lost my passion for it and it transitioned into
- 12:03Speaker 2: a passion for writing. So during that time, I was
- 12:07Speaker 2: at the church that I was telling you about at
- 12:09Speaker 2: the beginning, and I joined a small writing group and
- 12:13Speaker 2: that's where I met another young dreamer who was there
- 12:17Speaker 2: pursuing a filmmaking career. He was another dreamer moved from
- 12:20Speaker 2: Alabama to LA and that was my husband.
- 12:22Speaker 3: You know, we eventually got married.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So during that season when I was pursuing this writing career,
- 12:29Speaker 2: and thankfully I had connection because I do think that
- 12:31Speaker 2: helps when you're pursuing something, like if you have connection
- 12:35Speaker 2: in a similar passion, it helps to have that like accountability,
- 12:39Speaker 2: just people that you're talking things through. So it helped
- 12:42Speaker 2: to have that small group.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Actually.
- 12:44Speaker 2: So eventually after my husband and I we were dating
- 12:47Speaker 2: at the time we got married, I went back to
- 12:49Speaker 2: school got a master's in professional writing from USC and
- 12:54Speaker 2: now I had this professional writing degree and after I graduated,
- 12:58Speaker 2: I'm like, what am I going to do with this degree,
- 13:00Speaker 2: I started freelance writing for different publications at the time
- 13:04Speaker 2: until eventually I'm like, you know what, I can create
- 13:06Speaker 2: my own platform, write about the things that I want
- 13:10Speaker 2: to write about, and still continue to pursue my passion.
- 13:15Speaker 2: So at the time, you know, because my husband's a filmmaker,
- 13:18Speaker 2: I had this acting career. My husband helped me come
- 13:22Speaker 2: up with the name Tensil Town Mom. I made it
- 13:25Speaker 2: a point to interview celebrity moms about their journeys so
- 13:30Speaker 2: they can help other moms with their journeys. And even
- 13:33Speaker 2: though I was interviewing these celebrity moms, it wasn't about
- 13:38Speaker 2: Hollywood or acting. It was about if you have a dream,
- 13:43Speaker 2: then you can pursue that dream. How do you pursue
- 13:46Speaker 2: that dream? So I wanted to use these public figures
- 13:49Speaker 2: to show how they did it so they can encourage
- 13:52Speaker 2: other moms in the process. So that was just, you know,
- 13:56Speaker 2: another way of how I felt like I wanted to
- 13:58Speaker 2: help moms. That's it's the birth of it actually where
- 14:01Speaker 2: I wanted to help moms because at the time I
- 14:04Speaker 2: was also a mom and helped them going through what
- 14:07Speaker 2: their season of life through.
- 14:09Speaker 3: At I get that and it's hard.
- 14:12Speaker 1: One of the things I really want to point out
- 14:15Speaker 1: is that you talk about God and being guided, and
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm very much a believer in God. So for anyone
- 14:23Speaker 1: out there, your higher power, whoever that is for you,
- 14:28Speaker 1: for me, it's God. You were taken Troylan from acting
- 14:35Speaker 1: to a dream of writing, and you join this small
- 14:40Speaker 1: group and you find the person that you married me.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I was living in Denver, I was working, I had
- 14:48Speaker 1: a good job, and I ended up changing my entire
- 14:53Speaker 1: life within a month. I got a job in La,
- 14:57Speaker 1: I broke off an engagement, I sold my house. Yes,
- 15:00Speaker 1: it was a very, very trying time, but I was
- 15:04Speaker 1: so driven to create that change in my life and
- 15:10Speaker 1: I went to La and within three months I found
- 15:13Speaker 1: my husband.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Wow.
- 15:15Speaker 1: My point to this is when you get that strong desire,
- 15:22Speaker 1: when you need to create that change, there is a
- 15:25Speaker 1: reason that you are being guided in that way, and
- 15:29Speaker 1: when you cut it off, you are most times cutting
- 15:35Speaker 1: off the true reason you're supposed to be there. Like,
- 15:39Speaker 1: we started a whole new, beautiful path in our lives
- 15:42Speaker 1: and we met our husbands that.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, and your passions and your calling yes, exactly exactly.
- 15:51Speaker 2: So I just want to really bring light to that.
- 15:54Speaker 2: So so yeah, there right, like, and you have this
- 15:57Speaker 2: strong calling, don't let that fear hold you back from that, yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 2: because it leads to different purposes out your life when
- 16:07Speaker 2: you are pursuing those things, you know, whether it's the
- 16:11Speaker 2: relationship or you touch someone in a certain way that
- 16:15Speaker 2: they needed your guidance in some way.
- 16:18Speaker 1: So let me talk about for the women listening that
- 16:21Speaker 1: are the crossroads right now and their dreams no longer
- 16:27Speaker 1: lighting them up right, what would you say to that
- 16:30Speaker 1: woman who's afraid to make that pivot?
- 16:33Speaker 3: Yeah, because afraid of failure.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say, and I had to rectify this
- 16:41Speaker 2: with myself, is sometimes you have to take that step,
- 16:45Speaker 2: but you have to do it messy.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Do you know what I'm saying? You don't need to
- 16:49Speaker 3: be perfect.
- 16:51Speaker 2: If you have a dream and you think everything has
- 16:53Speaker 2: to be laid out for you, you can take the
- 16:56Speaker 2: step and do it messy, not saying you're going to
- 16:58Speaker 2: be unprofessional, because we've all done things and realize, oh
- 17:02Speaker 2: why did I do it like that? But you learn
- 17:04Speaker 2: through the process. And I would also say that if
- 17:08Speaker 2: there's a dream or a gifting that you have, think
- 17:12Speaker 2: about if someone is not encountering what you have to offer.
- 17:17Speaker 2: They may be staying stuck in their journey in life.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Like you can be impacting someone in such a powerful way,
- 17:24Speaker 2: but because you're remaining stuck or you're not allowing yourself
- 17:28Speaker 2: to pursue those things out of fear or whatever it is,
- 17:32Speaker 2: then someone is not getting what they need from you.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Because we all have our own personal giftings from God,
- 17:37Speaker 2: and I can't.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Do what you do. Marcy.
- 17:40Speaker 2: You're touching the people you're supposed to touch. I'm touching
- 17:43Speaker 2: the people I'm supposed to touch, right, So this I
- 17:46Speaker 2: just want to encourage the people listening to think about that, Like,
- 17:50Speaker 2: think about how you can touch someone in a certain
- 17:53Speaker 2: way by just taking that first step of pursuit, like
- 17:57Speaker 2: always say pursue. Just start, Yeah, just start. And that
- 18:01Speaker 2: can look different for different people. Maybe it's maybe if
- 18:04Speaker 2: your passion is I'm just going to throw this out there,
- 18:07Speaker 2: I don't know, organizing, Yeah, maybe you can.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Start by it.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Maybe there's a friend you can help who's in distress
- 18:15Speaker 2: because her home is disorganized and she doesn't know what
- 18:17Speaker 2: to do. Maybe you can start by just volunteering your gifts.
- 18:22Speaker 2: That's how I started, just volunteering my gifts and my passions.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Just volunteer and see how you're helping someone. Even if
- 18:29Speaker 2: you just help one person, see how that can impact them.
- 18:33Speaker 2: And maybe that'll arise something in you to want to
- 18:36Speaker 2: keep going and take it further because you can help
- 18:38Speaker 2: so many more people by just taking that first step.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, so true. So tell us what's the hardest
- 18:47Speaker 1: truth that you had to admit to yourself during your
- 18:51Speaker 1: entrepreneurial journey.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Probably that it is difficult and it's not as easy
- 18:58Speaker 2: as people say. So even when I am encouraging moms
- 19:03Speaker 2: to pursue their passions, you know, I help them to
- 19:05Speaker 2: monetize and find ways to monetize their passions, I'm not Yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 2: I'm not one of these people who says, oh, yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 2: do this and you'll make a million dollars. Yeah, it
- 19:16Speaker 2: might be monetizing a passion and selling your crocheting patterns
- 19:20Speaker 2: on Etsy, do you know what I mean? But that
- 19:22Speaker 2: has opened up the door to something else.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 2: So I think that's the hard truth. People think that
- 19:28Speaker 2: when they start something, they start the monetization route, that
- 19:32Speaker 2: it's going to be like all these people say, it's
- 19:34Speaker 2: going to be, oh yeah, you'll make seven figures if
- 19:36Speaker 2: you do X, Y and Z, it doesn't It doesn't
- 19:39Speaker 2: happen for most people like that. Those are the exceptions.
- 19:43Speaker 2: But you can still start and do the things that
- 19:45Speaker 2: you're called to do. And if you're looking to monetize,
- 19:48Speaker 2: monetize in some way and still be used and it
- 19:51Speaker 2: can grow into something bigger. Exactly set those expectations. Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 2: you gotta, that's just the thing you've got to start at.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I think a lot of times people don't get to
- 20:04Speaker 2: where they're possibly meant to be because maybe it doesn't
- 20:10Speaker 2: happen fast enough for them, or they're expecting.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Too much in the beginning. And you kind of got
- 20:17Speaker 1: to pay your dues, right, you got to walk the
- 20:21Speaker 1: walk you got to do and give of yourself and
- 20:25Speaker 1: then it will come back to you. Yeah, just like
- 20:29Speaker 1: you're saying, Yeah, So, if there's someone out there and
- 20:36Speaker 1: they have these fears, right, or they're wanting to launch
- 20:41Speaker 1: something new, what are some tools that they could use
- 20:46Speaker 1: when that fear shows up, when that confidence that we
- 20:51Speaker 1: talk about isn't there for them at that point.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Well, I feel like if they're having self doubt or
- 20:59Speaker 2: imposter syndrome like we all have, Yeah, I feel like
- 21:04Speaker 2: you have to still just walk it out despite what
- 21:07Speaker 2: you're telling yourself that's negative.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Like we're all going to experience that like oh I'm
- 21:13Speaker 2: not good enough or that can't be the reason that
- 21:17Speaker 2: you're not doing something, do you know what I mean?
- 21:20Speaker 2: Because you can still be doing something and still have
- 21:22Speaker 2: those fears, but you have to you have to do
- 21:25Speaker 2: it afraid, like walk through the fear.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 21:30Speaker 2: If like someone has a gifting and they're afraid, then
- 21:35Speaker 2: I'm not saying, so what to that fear, But I'm saying,
- 21:39Speaker 2: why would you stop just because you have a fear,
- 21:42Speaker 2: Because we all have fears.
- 21:44Speaker 1: We all have it, and I do a lot of
- 21:48Speaker 1: things afraid.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm saying practically speaking, if you have a fear,
- 21:55Speaker 2: but you know you have this gift and you have
- 21:57Speaker 2: this desire to pursue it, I would say, even with
- 22:00Speaker 2: the fear, just take the steps to pursue the thing
- 22:03Speaker 2: that you're afraid of, because oftentimes, like we may have
- 22:08Speaker 2: a desire. I want to do this again, as we
- 22:10Speaker 2: mentioned earlier, it's not going to line up perfectly.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Like we think.
- 22:15Speaker 2: You know, you may think like you Marcie, you have
- 22:17Speaker 2: a lot of skills and gifts from your past. Let's
- 22:21Speaker 2: say you're afraid, but you know you want to be
- 22:23Speaker 2: a life coach. Like I would say, well, you know
- 22:28Speaker 2: you're afraid, you want to be a life coach. You
- 22:31Speaker 2: know dress for success. They're looking for volunteers, they need
- 22:34Speaker 2: life coaches. Why don't you just start there. There's no
- 22:38Speaker 2: pressure because you're not getting paid for it. Just volunteer
- 22:40Speaker 2: your time and see how it goes.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Do you know what I'm.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Saying, Well, start on a smaller scale with your gift,
- 22:47Speaker 2: the thing that you're afraid of. Start on a smaller
- 22:49Speaker 2: scale and see how it goes. Like heef, you are
- 22:52Speaker 2: actually touching someone or making a difference in someone's life,
- 22:56Speaker 2: and I think that will quell someone's fear when they
- 22:59Speaker 2: see that they're making a huge difference in someone's life.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Another thing that I that helps me today and this
- 23:10Speaker 1: took time. I'm not going to say this happened overnight,
- 23:13Speaker 1: but is to truly have faith like you talk about
- 23:17Speaker 1: right like walking in God's purpose And I wake up
- 23:23Speaker 1: every day today and I did not used to do this.
- 23:26Speaker 1: This was something that through my healing journey that I
- 23:30Speaker 1: have begun doing and have done consistently throughout the years.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Is I start my day with God? Yes, and by
- 23:39Speaker 1: doing that that could be There's there's videos I watch
- 23:43Speaker 1: on YouTube that's starting with prayer and gratitude and scripture,
- 23:50Speaker 1: and these things really have helped me, Yes, calm that
- 23:55Speaker 1: overwhelm inside of me and to really trust the process.
- 24:02Speaker 1: And a lot of times somebody will be like, well,
- 24:04Speaker 1: what's your goal in five years?
- 24:06Speaker 3: What do you do about this?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Or blah blah, And for me, a lot of times,
- 24:09Speaker 1: it's truly just having the faith and I'll do the work,
- 24:15Speaker 1: But where's my calling and listening to my inner guide,
- 24:18Speaker 1: my higher self? And that's God, you know, so your
- 24:23Speaker 1: high you know, it could be your higher self. But
- 24:26Speaker 1: I just think that and this is something that you
- 24:28Speaker 1: teach and this is something that you share a lot about.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Is just having that trust in your purpose and trusting
- 24:37Speaker 1: and having faith and something bigger than yourself.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Yeah. I talk a lot about that on my show.
- 24:44Speaker 2: You know, I have a big audience of Christian moms
- 24:47Speaker 2: who listen to me, So I can't attest to what
- 24:49Speaker 2: you're saying, Like starting my day reading scripture asking God
- 24:54Speaker 2: to guide it, like before I get on my phone,
- 24:56Speaker 2: before I step out of bed, I am in the Bible,
- 25:00Speaker 2: the Word, praying and asking God to set the tone
- 25:04Speaker 2: for my day and even asking him what do you
- 25:07Speaker 2: want me to do with this gift?
- 25:09Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And that's why I say
- 25:11Speaker 3: I try to help moms to pursue.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And monetize their God led passion because I feel like
- 25:17Speaker 2: if it's a God led passion that can turn into
- 25:20Speaker 2: a purpose, it is God who wants us to pursue it.
- 25:24Speaker 2: It's not just for self, it's so we can help
- 25:27Speaker 2: other people. I know, I put that into perspective. We're
- 25:31Speaker 2: helping other people by pursuing this, you know what I mean.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Then maybe we can get out of that fear too.
- 25:38Speaker 1: It is if you make it about service and make
- 25:40Speaker 1: it about someone else instead of yourself. Yeah, that's a
- 25:45Speaker 1: huge one.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Even when I started Tintaltown Mom, I was working a
- 25:50Speaker 2: full time job, but it was my passion to do this.
- 25:53Speaker 2: I didn't start it to get paid. It was just
- 25:55Speaker 2: because it was an outlet for me to pursue my passion.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I wasn't even thinking about monetizing when I first started it.
- 26:01Speaker 3: It was just I.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Wanted to use this to help moms in some way.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Eventually I started monetizing it, you know what I mean.
- 26:08Speaker 2: But when I first started, I wasn't even thinking about monetizing.
- 26:13Speaker 1: So, and you have something coming in the future that
- 26:18Speaker 1: you have a new book coming out.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I do have a new book coming out later in
- 26:22Speaker 2: the summer. I also have a little mini course that
- 26:25Speaker 2: I just created for you know, the mom or a
- 26:29Speaker 2: mom figure or the woman who is looking to monetize,
- 26:34Speaker 2: to pursue actually their calling or their passion and monetize it.
- 26:38Speaker 3: It's very simple.
- 26:39Speaker 2: It's a simple framework that I just put together along
- 26:43Speaker 2: with a workbook, a guided workbook to help them go
- 26:48Speaker 2: from A to Z. So that's something that I just
- 26:50Speaker 2: put together as well. If your audience is interested, that's
- 26:53Speaker 2: now available.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Okay, Well, what's your website? You have it on your website?
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yes, I do have it on my website www dot
